- Jackson: Hello everyone, welcome back. My name is Jackson, that's Davis, and this is the Mike Chick podcast. I'm back. Davis: Welcome back, Jackson. Jackson: I'm back. Thanks for thanks Davis: did I beat? Jackson: for covering without me. Davis: Yeah, what did you think of that intro? Jackson: You did good. I almost I should've let you take the reins on this one. I'm I'm fine to give up that job. my days as being the intro man seem to be seem to be numbered. Davis: No, I think I think you got it. I that wasn't something that I was too thrilled to do. I figured I was gonna have to do it again Jackson: You we'll cover it a lot. Davis: today. I almost yeah, I almost went solo pod today. the show had to go on, but appreciate you you joinin'. Jackson: Yeah, we're on baby watch and it's it's coming soon, so I may you may be solo in it or you and Will may have to knock a few down without me here coming up, but Davis: So we have gotten a couple comments about some some call in call in segment. I I think that I think that that's the perfect segment for a a solo pod. So for those listening, for those that have commented, it might be something that we that we do. So y'all be on the lookout. Jackson: Yeah. We'll change the the name of the of the podcast for that one to the Davis show. Davis: god. Jackson: The Davis show. With all your call ins. But anyways, yeah, you guys you guys did a did a good job by listening to the to the pod and you and we'll killed it. But a few things on the week one recap that I wanna get off my chest. Really just one thing. There is a clear cut best quarterback in the country, and I have to say it now before like and this is not some like hot take. I mean everyone knows he's good, like he's a big name, but like he's he's the best number one, like I'll argue with you all day, he is the best quarterback in the country. You wanna you wanna guess w who I'm gonna say? Davis: I hope you're not saying Keelan Russell. Jackson: No, no, no, no. Davis: I didn't know if that's where the path you were leading us down. Okay. Jackson: No, no, no, no, no, no. No. Trinidad Chambliss is the best quarterback in the country, and there's no one that's changed my mind. That guy is like different. Like Darien Minsa's good. Julian Say and Arch Manning, they're good. But Chambliss is like a different level than these other guys, in my opinion. He can run, he can read a defense. He processes plays. Like when he takes a snap, he's not just looking one way and ripping it to a six five giant that's coming down or I mean, I know he's got a Davis: Mm. Jackson: s a good receiving core, but just the way he processes plays and then once he finds the guy that's open, just steps into the throw and rips it like I don't know. Guy's good. My my comp for Davis: Yeah. Jackson: him is is Patrick Mahomes. I think he plays a lot like my Mahomes. Davis: That that's that's such a lazy comp. Jackson: Dude, it's very similar. The way he runs around out there and the way he can just, you know, bit a ball in the window. Davis: I I'm not I'm not taking anything away from Trinidad Chamberless. He was very good last year, lit it up week one. One of the better passers of the football is like from intermediate to downfield. I think yes saw he was like ten of fourteen or ten of sixteen on passes that traveled twenty yards or further. I mean, just lit it up in that second half. If that was one of your week one takes, I I think I would have gone over reaction. Just 'cause I think that there's some stud quarterbacks elsewhere that probably didn't get to showcase their ability given they were playing weaker competition. So they didn't really, you know, ask them to do too much. but I'm gonna be thinking of a comp. He's he's definitely more undersized than Patrick Mahomes. I don't know if he has the arm strength and I think he's Yeah. Jackson: I think he's got the arm strength. Davis: I I or compared to Patrick Mahomes. Jackson: I mean compared Davis: But Jackson: to compared to college Patrick Mahomes, I think he has. obviously like Davis: Yeah. Jackson: Mahomes has gotten a lot better as in the last what, ten years I guess, since he's been out of college, Davis: Yeah. Jackson: but Davis: I'm gonna I'm gonna give you a I'm gonna give you a comp. Jackson: Just remember this. Just remember this just remember this a few years, maybe a few months from now. Trinidad Chamlis, Patrick Mahomes, somebody. You heard it here first Davis: All right. Jackson: on September ninth, twenty twenty six. Davis: Did you have in the playoff prediction, in your prediction? Jackson: No no no no and I don't even I don't even know that they'll make the playoff and I don't think by any I don't think he'll win the Heisman. I just I think Davis: Yeah. Jackson: a shinier new toy like Mensah or Malachi Tony or one of those guys, I think one of them will win the Heisman, but as far as just like best guy who I would want on my team in the NFL, I'm going Trinidad Jamlis a hundred percent. Davis: Yeah, I can't really argue it. My only argument is that might be a little recency biased just 'cause he lit it up week one, but we'll see as we continue. Jackson: Could be right. And I maybe eat my words here in a few weeks. So they'll play L they play LSU week three, so we'll find out real fast. Davis: That game just got very interesting. I mean it was always interesting, but LSU absolutely ran them out of the out of the game there. Jackson: Wells. That was something. anything from you before we get into the week two stuff? Davis: Mum obviously w Will and I covered the week one recap. Jackson: Yeah, I know guys covered all of it. Davis: Right. So check out that pod if you haven't if you didn't catch it. You know, went over Jackson and I's picks from last week. you know, average week in in the pick'em for the the pick six, but we both had a a good week when it came to our individual plays of the week. so that was good, hoping to turn it around. This upcoming week. Jackson: Yep. And before I forget, we both had a I I'm going off topic, Davis: Yeah, I was gonna say Jackson: so you you go ahead. Davis: all right, yeah. God, we had a we had a brutal player pick week in our game. We'll we'll Jackson: Yeah. Yeah we did. Davis: get to that in a little bit. I got the scores pulled up. All I can say is is hopefully we got all the bad players out of the way 'cause it it it was it was brutal. It was tough. Jackson: Yeah, that was tough. I was just gonna say we are on Apple and Spotify now, so quick little endorsement for the pod on the different platforms. But anyways, all right, let's jump into week two. Davis: Yeah. Jackson: Let me get this stuff pulled up. Alright, so get into week two, we're just gonna cover some of the the bigger games, give a quick breakdown and then we'll get into picks later. so the first game we got obviously a rematch of the big game last year. Texas, Ohio State. Last year Ohio State won, what was it, fourteen seven? Davis, is that right? Davis: Yep, fourteen seven in Columbus. Jackson: Yep, this game's in Austin. This will be the primetime ABC 630 kick. what she got for this one? Davis: Yep. So obviously Ohio State won it last year, fourteen seven. Ohio State is is actually won the last three matchups, with it being last year in the regular season and then the twenty twenty four, twenty twenty five playoff semifinal, and then the third game you have to go all the way back to two thousand and six. So Ohio State has had some recent success against Texas. very different teams, but do have the starting quarterbacks from last year's matchup in this game as well. Both those quarterbacks looked really, really good against some, inferior opponents, with it being Texas State and Ball State. Obviously blowouts in both of those. But I think Saiyan threw for 320 and three and Arch Manning actually threw for three hundred and five and four. so hopefully that's an indication that this year's game will be a little more high scoring than last year's fourteen seven. Jackson: Yeah, I I think with this game that's I think different from last year, if I'm not mistaken, that was the two quarterbacks first starts in that game last year, Julian Saiyan Davis: It was it was Jackson: and Davis: well Arch Manning had the the couple starts when Quinn Ewers got hurt. Yeah. But I Jackson: You yours? Yeah, that's perfect. Davis: think it was both their first starts as like a actual full time starter. Jackson: Yeah. I mean both defenses are obviously incredible. So making your first start against either either side is tough, which is why I think we saw a more low scoring game. I think this year Davis: Uh-huh. Jackson: I would expect maybe to see more of the same. I know both offenses are obviously really good too. So it'll be interesting to see how these quarterbacks take the next step with facing these defenses for another year. I think it's two of the most talented teams in the country. If the not the two most talented teams in the country. Davis: Yeah, I would agree with that. I think all the kind of the metrics that I like looking at. Ohio State is the number one ranked talent team. Texas is fourth, so easily one of the better matchups on paper for the entire season. I think an interesting storyline that, you know, kind of goes under the radar is how can Jeremiah Smith kind of make his mark on this game? So talked about it last year, low scoring game. I think Jeremiah Smith only had 43 yards on six catches. And then you go back the year before in that playoff semifinal game, Jeremiah Smith as a freshman had one catch for three yards. So Texas has done a real good job at, containing him. You do have a first year DC or first year back. DC for Texas and Will Muschamp will be interesting to see how they they play Jeremiah Smith this this year, Jackson: Yeah, I think it's just a there's it's hard to like really do a deep dive on this game because I feel like we know so much about Texas and so much about Ohio State. Everyone knows that these teams are both very good. You know the quarterbacks, it's just the best on best. Who's gonna have a good day and get the job done? I know we'll get into picks Davis: Yeah. Jackson: later, but Davis: You you're probably gonna see like not trying to be hyperbolic, but I think you could realistically see like six of the top ten players in the NFL draft coming from this game alone. if everything continues or goes as expected, Arch Manning, Julian Saiyan, and then the two receivers, Smith and Coleman, and then you got the D end from Texas in Colin Simmons. And I know you got some talent at Ohio State, but Jackson: There's talent all over the field. It's just Davis: Yeah. Jackson: one of those games it's gonna be sit there and watch and then see who wins. I mean I know that's kinda sounds dumb but I just I don't have a lean on like is Texas offense better than Ohio State's offense or is Texas's defense better than Ohio State's defense. I think they're just both so v good that it's just, you know, best best man wins on that day. So it'll be a good one to watch for sure. Davis: Yep. Spread here, spread here is one and a half towards Texas, essentially a pick with Texas being the home team. So obviously Vegas has them similarly. And this is on one of our pick six games. So we'll make our prediction later in the episode. Jackson: Let's jump over to the other another SEC Big Ten game. We got Oklahoma and Michigan. This one's at 11 on ABC. Obviously, Michigan's coming off a little bit of a. Well, let me think about how I'm gonna word this. Michigan coming off a loss in my books. Davis: There you go. Jackson: A 12-7 loss against Western Michigan. I believe in the clock that I see on my TV and that we've referenced for. Forever and not some mystery clock that they apparently have behind the scenes at the Big Ten headquarters. Never, ever, ever have I I've never heard of that. Davis: That no one has ever heard about and then now Yeah. Now yeah, now the Big Ten has come out today, Wednesday, and said From here on out our are the clocks on the audio or the the broadcast will be aligned to and I'm like, what? Like it just they just need to put a foot in their mouth 'cause they're just making things worse. Jackson: It's insane. It's really insane, but Davis: Yeah. And I and I talked about this with Will in the last one, but when they were reviewing the the kick six the play before and and trying to determine if there's one second or not left there, what clock were they looking at? They were looking at the broadcast clock because it was a line. So like not a single person brought up w is it is it the same clock? So no, this is the first time Jackson: Yeah, like Davis: I'm hearing of it. It's stupid. Jackson: Like when the refs I mean, I know sometimes they review it like actually in the booth, but other times, you know, you can see looking in that little thing and they're looking at the footage and sometimes on the on the actual feed, on our feed, it will show you what they're seeing. And they're just watching different angles of the broadcast and if it's a clock thing, it's always the broadcast clock. Like Davis: Yeah. Jackson: it's never some remote clock that they have like to the left or to the right. It's always the clock on the broadcast, but Anyways, it's it's crap and I think I know the NCAA's not gonna do anything, but they should. Davis: Yeah. They already said that they they don't have the power to overturn a concluded game, but Jackson: Yeah. Then what then what do they have the power to do? Like I mean, it's supposed to be like the governing body of college athletics, like Davis: I I don't I don't have anything apparently. Yeah. I think that I guess going into this game, you know, obviously Oklahoma has a great defense. kind of a question mark w was their offense, even though they bring back John Matteir, they lost a lot of weapons around him. Was interesting to see that John Matteer and Oklahoma scored on its first eight possessions against UTEP. UTEP, I know, I get it, so what? But at least they handled a group of six team, unlike Michigan. Jackson: Yeah. I think there's value in that. I mean if your offense is scoring on the first eight drives, like there's something to that. I mean, just because it was Utah, there's still college athletes that are out there that are probably paid something to go out there and and play a certain position. Like it's I mean, it's not on air. It's against Davis: Yeah. Jackson: a defense, so I think there's something to be said. I don't I wouldn't put a lot of weight in that, but Davis: Better than looking bad. Jackson: it's a good sign. Yeah, right. Which a lot of teams do I mean, look at the team they're playing. Like scored on their opening drive and then they didn't score again. They didn't score again. Hear that? Davis: Yeah. I think I think Bryce Underwood could be in for a long day here. I'll reserve some of I guess my specific thoughts on the game for when we do picks here. Jackson: Yeah, I I I think I wanna be careful, and I know you and Will talked about this in in your podcast, but I don't wanna overreact too much to some of the hiccups we see with I guess in this situation, it's the offense with Michigan. I mean, look at last year. Look at Alabama and week one against Florida State. They looked Horrible. I w after the Alabama Florida State game, I was going through my phone looking at the games Alabama was playing and seeing whether or not they could make a bowl game. And a lot of times I landed on seven and five, six and six, and I was like, my gosh, we're gonna miss a bowl. not saying it's the same situation with Michigan, but they are at home. They have a lot of talent on that roster. I think the offensive line is a a huge concern. I mean, they couldn't run the ball against western Michigan. And if you can't run the ball against Western Michigan, I don't know how you're gonna fix that in the week and do it against Oklahoma, but I think that's the key for them in this game. If they can establish some kind of run game to bring some balance to the offense, because if if Oklahoma shuts down the run and Underwood has to throw the ball, then they're in they're in trouble. They're McTruck. Davis: So I have a interesting stat. I guess I'll bring it up now since you talked about running the ball. So Michigan faced a stacked box, which is eight or more in the box on fifty six percent of its snaps, which is basically just saying they didn't respect Bryce Underwood's throwing ability whatsoever. Which rightfully so. Jackson: I mean. Davis: I don't even think Oklahoma has to stack the box and will be able to shut down that run game. I think they will, which you know, makes it even tougher for Michigan. But they th they weren't able to run the ball, efficiently during that game at all. Outside the scripted drive and the Hail Mary, they didn't score any points. Jackson: Yeah. Davis: So Jackson: Yeah, I mean, it's crazy against Western Michigan and a home opener. And I know, like I said, your offense is gonna have some hiccups week one. Most offenses do, but that's alarming. And then obviously Davis: Yeah. Jackson: the press conference stuff that came out today with what exactly was said there? I something about like uncertainty with Bryce Underwood's job. Like do you know what the coach said? Davis: Almost verbatim it was he is our quarterback right now. Which implies that Maybe he's not in the future. It's not a great way to shut it down, you know what mean? If you have the utmost confidence Jackson: Yeah. Davis: in him, you just say he's our quarter he's the quarterback of our football team and I believe in him, you know, or he's just the quarterback of our football team. You Jackson: Right. Yeah, there's a lot better ways that you could say that. Davis: don't you don't crack the door open. He's our quarterback right now. So didn't didn't love Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Davis: to hear that. if you're a Bryce Underwood, you know, believer. Jackson: Alright, we'll get in we'll get into the pick on this game later. This is one of our pick six games as we mentioned. Davis: Yeah. Jackson: All right. Tennessee and Georgia Tech. This one is at six o'clock Saturday night, ESPN and Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Tech is the home team, obviously. Two teams coming off of some pretty different week one performances. Tennessee looked very good against Furman and Georgia Tech looked very, very bad against Colorado. Davis: Yeah, and for a Georgia Tech Jackson: Go it. Davis: team where their coach is kinda instilling hard nosed, grinded out, you know, that type of physical football, they got out outphysicled by a team that I didn't think Jackson: Colorado. Davis: had the capability to do so. So Jackson: Yeah. Davis: hope hopefully that's more of a credit to Colorado than a than a slight to Georgia Tech, but As of right now, I don't know. Tennessee obviously put up a lot of numbers against Furman. Faison Brandon in his first start, true freshman, looked pretty good. the running back, Deshaun Bits Bishop, one of the better running backs in the SEC. I'm expecting him to have a big game with the way that Colorado was able to run the ball and control the line of scrimmage against Georgia Tech. Jackson: Yeah, I and I was impressed I know he got hurt in the game, but I was pretty impressed with Mendoza for Georgia Tech against Colorado. I thought he I thought he played well. Obviously the injury and not being able to run the ball kind of limited what they could do. And again, I think that's gonna be another big knock against a team like Tennessee with it with a decent front seven is if you can't run the ball then you can't throw the ball. you're gonna have a more trouble throwing the ball. successfully if you can't establish a run game. So I think that'll be a big key for me is if they can show any kind of improvement on the on the offensive line, in the running back room. I thought I really did. I thought Mendoza looked well. I thought he threw the ball well. I thought he made good decisions. It's kind of a I'm not I don't want to take a shot here, but it it was kind of what a little bit of what I expected with the dink and dunk, short routes. take the completions. Can't go broke taking a profit thing and I think he needs to push the ball downfield a little bit more, give us guys a chance. He had some scramble, you know, improv plays in there that he looked pretty well doing, but they're gonna have to move the ball a little bit more than they did against Colorado, playing Tennessee. So Davis: Yeah. No explosives. They drive the ball a little bit and then ha then shoot themselves in the foot with a bad penalty or a a a fumble a fumble or or you know, whatever it it was. It they just kinda gave that game away and it it ended unfortunately for them with that with that block kick as time ended. Jackson: Another another thing for me we're not picking this game, are we? This isn't part of our Davis: No. It's sitting on the pick six, but I think the spread here was twelve and a half, which seems like a fair line to me. Jackson: I just don't know if if Georgia Tech can keep up with them. Like, Davis: Yeah. Jackson: I mean, Tennessee's gonna score. I know it's it's phase on Brandon's first road start, true freshman. That'll be a a I don't know what I'm not gonna say like a you know super hostile environment, but it's a road start against a power for school, so there's something to that. But at the same time, like Tennessee puts up thirty five points, like There's no way Georgia Tech's getting close to that. And I Davis: Yeah. Jackson: maybe they won't put up thirty-five, but I think they can get to the high twenties, low thirties. And from what I saw against from Georgia Tech against Colorado, it doesn't look like they're gonna be scoring anywhere in that range. So it's kind of my lane for the game. I think Tennessee's just gonna out outscore and and run away with it early. But we'll see. We'll see if Georgia State gotta sum up this leaf. Alright, next game. Arizona BYU. This is on our pick six game, I believe, right? Davis: Yes, it is. Spread is BYU Jackson: Yep. Two thirty game. Davis: seven and a half. So this is a a rematch of last year's double overtime win for BYU. believe that yeah, so this game is in Utah. Last year's matchup double overtime. BYU won thirty three twenty seven. so maybe maybe that'll give Arizona a little extra juice going into this game. Jackson: Yeah, obviously experienced quarterback with no no Fafita. it's one reason Davis: Fourth year as a starter. Jackson: Yeah, it's it's something to feel good about if you're Arizona going into Provo. Not a lot of teams get a win in there, so having an experienced quarterback will definitely be a a benefit for them. not a lot to break down from previous games. BYU beat Utah Tech sixty seven to three or sixty three to seven and then Arizona beat northern Arizona thirty five to seven. So both put cupcakes, both average around five hundred yards last week. Davis: Yeah. The the Metrics kinda Jackson: Not much. Davis: kinda view these teams as is pretty equal. it's gonna be in Utah seven and a half is is more than I was expecting. I guess I'm kinda teasing where I'm headed, but I'll wait till we get to the picks. Jackson: Any anything else from this game before we move on? Davis: Nope. I think I'm good here. Jackson: Alrighty. Alabama and Kentucky. Two thirty game. ABC, this one's in Lexington. Alabama's a ten and a half point favorite still, is that right? Davis: Yeah. they were as of the time that I made the slots. Jackson: Yeah, let me let me check on that. Yeah, ten and a half. The reason I say still is because the availability report came out today and Michael Carroll, who is arguably our best offensive lineman, is doubtful for that game. Davis: Mm. Jackson: right guard played tackle last or he may be left guard right or left guard I think he's right guard. played tackle last year moved him to guard he was Davis: Yeah. Jackson: a stud he was five star freshman last year and he is doubtful for that game. already having a lot of O line issues leading into the season last week obviously kind of fixed a lot of that against East Carolina but It's gonna be tough going on the road, adding a a new piece into an already new offensive line. Davis: Yeah. I'll be honest. I think outside of LSU, Alabama might have been the team that impressed me the most. Maybe I was just too low on them going into the season, but I think Keelon Russell looked great. I think that offense really had an identity. He he was a better runner than I was expecting. Knew the defense would be as good as advertised, but that offense did it did surprise me. So yeah, outside of LSU I think Alabama probably got the biggest jump in my mind. Jackson: Yeah, they look good last week. that sc score was obviously says forty eight to ten, but that ten came from a broken play. they didn't have many yards. I think they rushed for like negative one yards when you maybe account for sacks. So East Carolina. So the defense is is is solid. I'll be interested to see how the offense looks going against an SEC team. on the road. I know you were in you were at the Auburn game in Atlanta, so you may have not gotten to watch the Bama game, but a lot of self inflicted errors, whether it was penalties or fumbling a snap, they had a poor time jet motion where Ryan Williams just ran in front of the ball. Didn't didn't even look like he was like gonna get the ball and just sloppy. Lot of lot of sloppiness. legal motions, legal formations. And that was at home in in game one against East Carolina. So, you know, you gotta clean that up going on the road, playing a SEC game week two. obviously kinda glad it happened in week one so you could address it going forward, but adding a new piece on the offensive line is definitely gonna make that a little bit more difficult to kind of button everything up and get it neat and clean for the game against Kentucky. So we'll see. Will Stein obviously an offensive guy, so Kentucky I think will rely more on their offense to keep them in this game. not too sure about their defense. I don't I don't think they're gonna be very good. So I think the str the strength of both teams are gonna be Kentucky's offense and Bama's defense. I wouldn't necessarily call Bama's offense a weakness, but I think Kentucky's defense could be a real weakness. So I did see And I don't remember where I saw it, but Kentucky's one of their offensive linemen that transferred from Tennessee last year in that game, in the Bama, Tennessee game, when that guy was blocking Yonse Pierre and Pass Pro, Yonse Pierre had three sacks against him in that game. In one game. So something to keep in mind when you're watching this one. Sorry, I kinda rambled there. You got anything to add to that? Davis: No. I gu yeah, I did go to the Auburn game. I did was able to catch I think the three quarters of this game. So I I think I saw enough before some of the backups started coming in. you you talked about Alabama only giving up, you know, I think it was zero or whatever number that you referenced, rushing yards. I ended up checking it. They'd given up two. So the numbers that I pulled here are obviously not correct. I'm I'm I'm not sure where it was pulled from, but I'm double checking some of the other games. to apologize about what's shown here. But Points per game and points per game allowed are correct. Jackson: That's all we to know. How many how many yards against the cupcakes are it's not that c significant. I forgive you. We're still new. Still new at this. Davis: We hired a graphic guy. It's gonna be his job going forward. Jackson: We did, we hired him today. Yeah. We hired a graphics guy, Alright, anything else to add to to this one before we move on? Davis: no, I think I think we're good. Jackson: Alright, next game. Arizona State, Tex A and I'm gonna be honest, I did not watch either of these week one games. So I'm just going off of Vibes slash what I know preseason slash A and M's playing them at home and I don't think Arizona State's walking into Kyle Field and getting a win. Davis: Yeah, there's not much you can learn from these games if they take care of business like they should, which both teams did. If they struggle, obviously you can learn something from it. But when both teams, you know, combined for a hundred and twenty and seven margin of victory, then yeah, not a lot you can you can take from it. Arizona State's quarterback, Cutter Bowley. actually went off twenty-one of twenty-seven, three hundred and eighty-seven yards and six touchdowns. now he's gonna face a legitimate team. Don't expect that to continue. Arizona actually didn't even play a full fourth quarter. Did you see that? Jackson: yeah, they yeah, I did see that. Was that this game? I didn't know it was this game. I I I heard that someone like the opposing coach or something asked for the the quarter to be reduced Davis: Yeah. Jackson: to ten minutes. Davis: Yeah. Dude, I'll I'll never forget. I'll never forget. My freshman year, James Clemens, we're a brand new high school. So the entire football team is made up of freshmen and sophomores playing varsity football in the highest classification in Alabama. And I think we're playing Decatur and we're probably getting beat. you know, fifty to nothing at halftime. Just I mean, it's a it's our J V team against a varsity a varsity squad. So everybody walks into the locker room and it's dead silent. You know, vibes are at an all-time low. Everybody's hanging their head and, you know, no one re no one even wants to play anymore. We hadn't won a game all season. We're terrible. And our coach, Coach Stewart, walks in and First thing he says is the other team asked me if I wanted to shorten the clock to five minutes for the third and fourth quarter. And everybody's heads like raised up and everybody gets a sense of like like joy again. We're like, this is gonna be over sooner. And then he essentially just threw it out the window and was like, that we're playing a full game and and Jackson: Ha ha. Davis: everybody, you know it The air completely left the room again. Jackson: How do you even like get up like for a game? W when you're like I mean, I know it's a terrible situation. Like you guys were, like you said, freshmen sophomores, but what was practice like the next week getting ready to do that all over again? Like was there a hope to win a game? Like was there a team like Davis: Dude, hell no. We were no, dude. We're we're a freshman team playing varsity. We didn't have any seniors or juniors on the team. We were brand Jackson: Yeah, but did you play like a out of region game against like Call out any schools, but against a lesser opponent. Davis: I mean, yeah, but the lesser opponent, you know, I think that there's rules on like how Jackson: Mm. Davis: much lower classification you can go down to. So since we were seven A, we couldn't go below like five A or four A or something. And so even then these schools are like so much bigger than us, like from an enrollment standpoint. The way that they did enrollment was they did our projected enrollment once a full class is there. So Not only are we in the highest classification, but we didn't even have a full school. It was only freshmen and sophomores. And dude, we would practice for like four Jackson: Crazy. Davis: hours after after school. Like most I've ever practiced the entire like all four years of of high school was was that and we were terrible. Yeah. Those days sucked. Jackson: That's crazy. All right. back to Tech Ten Mirror so I say. Davis: Yeah. But there there's my rant about ending games early. So good good on Arizona State's Jackson: Yeah. Davis: head coach Kenny Dillingham for allowing them to to end their misery, end Morgan State's misery a little bit quicker. Jackson: Yeah, I d I just don't like I mean I know they beat seventy to seven, but like I I just don't see a path for them to win. Definitely not win. I don't I don't think they're gonna cover either. What's the spread? Fourteen and a half? Davis: No, it's it's one it is fourteen and a half. Jackson: Yeah. So I mean Davis: Surprising. Jackson: Maybe they're they're getting a little bump for scoring seventy against Morgan State, but I mean Tech San scored fifty fifty to zero against the FBS team. Like, I mean, that's pretty impressive. So fifty to zero. I don't see I don't see anything being close in this game. I got Tech San big. We're not picking this one, so I'll go ahead and go ahead Davis: Yeah. Yeah. Jackson: and say that. Davis: Same. Jackson: Oof. It's like a nightmare coming back with this one. Oregon, Oklahoma State. this one's eleven AM on ESPN. Spread is like tw something weird. Twenty two, right? Twenty two and a half? Davis: Yeah, twenty two and a half. this is a an interesting one. the eleven AM kick. I guess it's what nine AM body clock for Oregon. Jackson: Yeah. Davis: So Jackson: I don't think it matters. Davis: yeah. I mean Oregon didn't look great. I had a lot of people reach out and say, Am I am I bailing on my Oregon pick? And the answer was no. And kind of piggy to piggyback on what you talked about earlier is you don't want to overreact to to one game. With Oregon, I have so much data from last year that says, you know, that they're better than what they displayed in week one. have a lot of returning starters. All all the reasons that I was in on them before the season, I don't think automatically automatically becomes invalidated just based on one game. However, in Michigan's Jackson: Yeah, I agree. Davis: point, the whole the whole last season was how how bad that offense looked. So I think that the Jackson: Fair. Davis: week one for Michigan just continued on on that point. Jackson: And kinda going back to my Alabama point with the Florida State thing last year's, I thought that going into the season, like I was picking them to win it all. the returning guys they had on offense and defense, like I thought they were good enough to win the whole thing. So kind of same thing with your Oregon point. Like all the the data that I had on that team led me to believe that you can't judge a whole season based off what you see in week one. So Yeah, that's true. I Davis: Yeah. Jackson: think Oregon will This could get ugly fast. Davis: Yeah, it needs to. This needs to be a get right game for them. Jackson: Yeah. And unfortunately Oklahoma State's gonna be the the victim here. I had them last week as one of my picks to cover a minus thirteen and a half point spread against Tulsa. Tulsa covered it the other way. They covered the fourteen. yeah, I Davis: Upset pick of the week. Jackson: guess yeah, and and like you and Will mentioned in last episode, like A lot of these G five to P four coaching moves and and player roster transitions with them is not working out initially. I mean it could work out down the road. Don't want to over react on a week one game, but man, that that was that was tough. I mean, they weren't even in the game. Davis: Yeah. Jackson: Really. I mean so we're not picking this one. I I like Oregon. I like Oregon big. Davis: Yep, like Oregon big too. Jackson: Interesting game here. Missouri and Kansas. Seven o'clock on Friday night. This one's on Fox. Spread is five and a half. Missouri. Davis: Five and a half. Missouri's actually on a four game win streak right now over Kansas. Last year they won forty two to thirty one. You know, they had Jalen Daniels as their quarterback. Kansas, that is. I know that you know all about him with him making the Bucks roster. I think Kansas downgraded. I think Jackson: Maybe two. Davis: Missouri probably got a little better. Austin Simmons looked very good against I mean Arkansas Pine Bluff, but I mean still very efficient. 17 of 19 for 252 and four. I mean, it's hard to do that against routes on air. So they did struggle to run the ball, which was interesting. No Ahmad Hardy, So it was interesting to see that they didn't they didn't, you know, wasn't able to dominate the line of scrimmage. don't know if it matters in this game with the way that Austin Simmons has looked. Jackson: Yeah. Austin Simmons, like you mentioned, looked great. another one of these games where they both just dominated a lesser opponent. I like Austin Simmons as a quarterback better than I do Isaiah Marshall. I know it's a big game. It's a big it's a rivalry game. non-conference rival Missouri. this is one of our pick games, correct? Davis: Yes, it is. Jackson: Yep. I won't say too much more, but I like Austin Simmons, like Missouri. I like what he was able to do. I think I was high on him before the Trinidad Chandless show started at Ole Miss. I think he's a he's a good quarterback and I think a fresh start's just kind of gonna do him well this year at Missouri. So I think I'll have a big year this year and I think Missouri could surprise him teams when Mahardy gets back and they're able to run the ball more. Obviously I know it's a lot on the offensive line too, so They need to button that up and we'll see this week how they do on the road. Iowa State, Iowa. This one's Saturday night, six thirty on NBC. Iowa, you know the spread here, Davis? Fourteen. Davis: Thirteen and a half. Jackson: I like Iowa Davis: Yeah. Jackson: Big in this one. Davis: Yeah. I mean I was offense looked pretty good against Northern Illinois. Played two different quarterbacks. I think they're going with the former Auburn quarterback Hank Brown. He got the start last week. Think I think they already said that he'll get the nod again this week. I think there's a a very big talent gap in this game. just with the mass departures from Iowa State. we're not picking this game, are we? Jackson: Yeah, I think No. Davis: Yeah, spread's thirteen and a half here. Jackson: Yeah, I like Iowa to cover that spread for Davis: Yeah. Jackson: what it's worth. I think this is the first game that Iowa State's really gonna get exposed from that roster overhaul that a lot of those guys went to Penn State. Iowa's not bad. They're not a bad team. I think they're gonna look a lot better than they really are this week against Iowa State. I think there may be some overreactions as far as the Iowa side after this one's done, but I like them to win big. say their offense has figured it out because Northern Illinois a a pretty bad G6 team, but I think they'll score some points against Iowa State and cover the spread. That's the biggest thing about a 14 point spread with Iowa is like can they they may dominate the game, but can they get the points to to cover the line, but I think they will. I think Iowa State's really gonna get exposed in this one. Arkansas and Utah. This one's a late kick, nine fifteen ESPN Saturday night. This one is at Utah. Ricycle Stadium, tough place to play. What what do you got for this one, Davis? Davis: Think Arkansas probably has one of the worst defenses in the power four. I think Devin Dampier probably has a a game that he fills up the stat sheet, running, throwing, maybe even receiving. I think Utah wins big here. I don't think that Arkansas's offense is good enough to keep up. Jackson: I agree. And and I mentioned Ricycle Stadium is a tough place to play. They have not lost many games there in the last however many years Utah's been good. I definitely don't think Dampier is losing at home in this one. I agree with you. I think he'll fill up the stat sheet and have a day. Arkansas did not look impressive against North Alabama last week, which is concerning. given that is an FCS No. Yeah. FC S Davis: FC S. They went up they went up two years ago. Jackson: One thirty one fourteen against an FCS team and now you gotta go across the country to play in a night game against Utah with an experienced quarterback. Davis: A late night game. Late for the the body clock and it's at altitude. Jackson: Yeah. I like Utah on this one. Big. All right. Here we go. Pick six this week. Davis, are you first? Davis: Yeah, I'm first. So I guess we're we're both four, five, and one on the season, so we need to turn it on a little bit. Didn't have Jackson: Four, five, and one for the for the pick six portion. if you count like the whole thing, we are what, six, six and one? Davis: Six, five and one. Or six, six and one. Jackson: Yeah. We're both six six and one. So Davis: Yeah. Jackson: should have covered SMU. I didn't get a chance to air that one out last episode. But anyways. All right, go ahead. First game, Missouri at Kansas. Friday night. Five and a half point spread favoring Missouri. Who you got? Davis: Yeah, I got Missouri. I think they're their more physical team. I like Austin Simmons and Kansas is little banged up coming into the week. their starting linebacker is drawing a blank on his name, not expected to play. And Bam Crouch is doubtful. And their actual leading receiver from last year, Cam Pickett, is a game time decision. So I think that that's enough for me to lean Missouri minus five and a half. Jackson: Okay. I'm gonna go the same. I'm gonna go stick with the L Go Missouri minus five and a half. I think this game being at Kansas and kind of seeing what Kansas offense was able to do last week, made me a little bit hesitant and I think that's why the spread is what it is. However, I think against a team like LIU as who I think they played, I I wouldn't take too much of that. I I think going against the SEC team will be a different animal for Kansas. I like Austin Simmons. I trust him more in this game, so give me Missouri minus five and a half. Alright, next game. We got Oklahoma at Michigan. Saturday eleven. Oklahoma minus five and a half. And I will take Michigan. Plus the points. This is just purely a like vibes thing. Not even a vibes thing. I just think when you get more than a field goal being a home team like Michigan, I'll take the points. Two teams that are that favor their defenses more than their offenses. I think it'll be a lower scoring game. And if I can get five and a half for Michigan, I'll take it. I will probably regret this pick. I went back and forth because my brain tells me Oklahoma. Oklahoma's a much better team than Michigan. If they're playing on a neutral field, I would take Oklahoma minus seven and a half. But with Michigan being the home team and kind of a a regroup week for Kyle Whittingham and their team, I I I just think I think they can cover five and a half. I think Oklahoma wins the game, But I think Michigan can cover the five and a half points. Davis: Yeah, Michigan barely scored five and a half points last week against Western Michigan. So I I'm going Oklahoma here and I don't even I don't even think it's close. Oklahoma has one of the best defenses in college football. They're gonna have Bryce Underwood in hell. I think they're gonna stop the run as well. can Oklahoma score seventeen points against Michigan, I certainly think so. So I think that they cover pretty easily here. Jackson: I was gonna ask you, you think that's the num how many points do you think Michigan scores? Davis: Thirteen. I know the ther I know I just said seventeen, but I think that they probably median outcome is probably thirteen. I think Oklahoma gets in the twenties. I mean last year's game was twenty four thirteen. I could see a twenty-seven thirteen. Twenty four thirteen, twenty seven, thirteen. Jackson: I was thinking more of like in my head I was thinking like twenty seventeen or twenty one seventeen. Davis: Yeah. Jackson: Just for what it's worth. But I could I could see it going your way. This is not one that I'm just super confident on. Like I said, probably regret this Saturday after the game, but we'll see. I my I was gonna go Oklahoma, but I decided to flip and go Michigan. All right, next pick. Arizona BYU Saturday, two thirty, BYU minus seven and a half. What you got? Davis: I like Arizona plus seven and a half here. going into the season, Arizona was one of the teams that I liked like the over on their win total. think they played, you know, the you didn't you didn't learn a whole lot week one from their from their game, but I think that Arizona is too experienced and has a good enough defense that, you know, more than a touchdown is is a little too much for me. I think BYU wins the game, but you know, more than a touchdown is a little too much. Jackson: Yeah, I'm I'm gonna go BYU minus seven and a half. I don't feel great about this one either. I would feel comfortable if that number was seven or six and a half, but seven and a half scares me a little bit. but I'm taking BYU at home. That's kind of the reason for this pick. I think they're a good team. I'm high on BYU. I think they're even better at home. It's gonna be hard to beat those guys at home. And seven point spread is small. Seven and a half, excuse me. I think they can get there. I think there's gonna be a lot of points scored in this game. So having a bigger spread doesn't concern me as much when I think a game's gonna be high scoring versus like a Oklahoma Michigan where I think that's gonna be low scoring. So I think you the spread the bigger the spread in a low scoring game is more significant versus a high scoring game. I don't think it's as significant to cover a seven and a half point spread when you're gonna score. Probably thirty something points. So I'll take BYU, minus Davis: Right. Yeah. Jackson: seven and a half. Davis: Points are easier to come by, you know, greater variation in score. So completely agree with that take. Arizona did win in double overtime. or sorry, BYU won in overtime. by six. I think we could see Jackson: Yeah, last year. Davis: a similar similar game here. Jackson: I agree. Alright, next game. Alabama at Kentucky. Saturday at two thirty. Alabama minus ten and a half. I'll take Take the points. Mother I don't I don't love Slate this week. don't feel good about this one either. especially losing that right guard. I sent these picks into Davis before that was announced, and I don't know that I would change my pick, but I d it definitely makes me feel not as good about taking ten and a half with Alabama. I think Not having a leader on that offensive line is gonna be tough for the first road environment. These guys are all new. He's the only returner from that unit last year. So it'll be interesting to see how they will mesh and play together in this game on the road. Keelan Russell's first road start. All these things are pointing to Kentucky plus ten and a half, but give me Bama minus ten and a half. I think the defense for Alabama will be able to shut down Kentucky's strength with just their offense and I think Keelan Russell and and company will be able to put up enough points to cover a ten point spread. Davis: Yeah, you took the words right out out of my mouth. I think that the defense is good enough to have Kenny Minche in his first real powerful start, struggling early. So like Alabama here minus ten and a half. Jackson: thought I thought you'd go the other way. I yeah. I I just think Kentucky's really going all in on this game. Like they're doing a checkerboard pattern in this in this in the for the fans and all their like I think we talked about this on the SEC pod, but a lot of these Kentucky podcasters guys or radio show guys are all taking Kentucky. Like they posted their season long picks for each of the games on Kentucky's schedule and every single one of them, all like five of them I think, had them beating Bam in this game. So I just I think Kentucky fans are a little delirious right now and and need to be brought back to real life and I think this game's gonna do that. like you said everyone talks about it being Keelan Russell's first start, but it's also Kenny Minchie's first big start against the big school. So Bam's defense is no joke. So I like the ten and a half in this one. Davis: game. Yep. Jackson: All right, next game. Davis: Boise State Memphis. I'll preface it by saying Boise State was my G five, G six predicted representative in the playoff, but I think eight and a half is a lot. I think these two teams from a skill set perspective are pretty even, but I think that Boise State's getting a couple point bump from Vegas based on holding Oregon close up until the end. So really just comes down to I think that that number that line is a little inflated. So give me give me Memphis, but I Boise State wins. Jackson: I'm gonna agree with you. I like Memphis and the points. I think Marcus Stokes is a good quarterback, mentioned that in the week zero podcast. Transfer from West Florida. Look good in the game against UNLV. did not look so good in the game last week against Arkansas State. However, they did rush for 184 yards, or the running back did. I think they'll be able to have some success on the ground. I think he'll be able to throw a little bit on Boise State, make plays with his feet. I agree with you. I think Boise State gets the win. But I like Memphis to keep it close. Alright. Game of the week. Ohio State at Texas. Texas minus one and a half is the line. I will take that. I'll take Texas minus one and a half in this one. Again, just best on best. I think both teams are really good. I can see it going either way. However, I think I will go with the home team in this one. It's kind of the same way I went last year. I just think having that slight edge may be enough to to get the win. also a revenge spot for Texas. They feel like this non conference game was one of the reasons why they were left out of the college football playoff last year. So I think they will be as ready as they can be and and wanting to win this game. So I like Texas. Davis: Ryan Days beat Steve Sarkeesian the last two years. I think he makes it a third year in a row. Talent, you know, similar on both teams or for both teams, but Steve Sarkeesian's gonna have to prove to me that he can win the big game before I before I pick him. So give me the buckeyes. Jackson: Alright. I'll do it for the pick six. we're different on a lot of these games. Davis: So we agree on what? One, two, three, three out of the six. So should be interesting. Jackson: Three of six. Yeah. We need to start keeping tabs on like games we align on and keep our record on those games just for fun. I think we were pretty pretty good with them last week. But we'll do the moving forward. Davis: Yeah. I have all the I have all the slides so I can easily just go back and look at Jackson: Okay. All right, upset upset alert, upset check. you first on this one? Davis: yeah. So none of these games really stood out to me. There was a couple that was right on the line with whether or not that they could be included. So we have a power four team getting upset. The money line has to be plus two fifty or higher. the way that we're gonna track the wins or the points is If the team wins outright, you get whatever their money line is. So last week Tulsa won, so that was plus 400. And then you get 10 points for each point that they cover by. This week I will be going with San Diego State over UCLA. I think UCLA is getting a bump for the game that they won last week against Cal. I think people had higher expectations for Cal than what was probably rightfully deserved. So now UCLA's kinda getting that bump. So Hopefully San Diego State kinda kinda puts them back to to what they were preseason. I don't have a whole lot of reasons, but this is this is my pick going into it. Jackson: yeah, I'm with you. I I didn't love this board. Originally my eyes were drawn to this Arkansas pick against Utah with it being the SEC. but I I just don't see Utah losing a game at home this Arkansas team that only beat UNA thirty one to fourteen last week. originally I did text you Eastern Michigan at Michigan State, but I remembered I remembered in our SEC pod when we were talking about Vandy. I talked about Delaware and I said, Don't sleep on Delaware. I'm telling you, that quarterback's good. So I will go Delaware. I think they'll be able to move the ball against Vanderbilt. And I'm not sh quite sure that Vandy has figured everything out yet, so Don't love it. It's a twenty and a half point spread plus eight fifty, but I'll take I'll take a shot on Delaware and my guy. Nick Minucci, I think is his name. Gosh, I don't even know his name, that sounds bad. Minucci. Davis: Sounds right. It's not Denucci, is it? Jackson: No. Davis: No relation to Ben Denucci? Jackson: Nick Minicucci. Yeah, Nick Minicucci. So Davis: I like it. Jackson: We'll see if they can get it done. See if they can get it done. Don't sleep on Delaware. Telling you they're good. Alright, you did win last week. That's that was pretty impressive, so. good on that. Davis: Yeah, I think going forward, whenever I don't have a good reason, I'm just gonna do what the guests do on college game day and just be like, My cousin went to San Diego State, go ask X. Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Normally on these I wouldn't have a reason, but I do watch my Delaware Blue Hens every now and then on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in late November, so Davis: Yeah. Jackson: All right. week two picks. I I kinda forgot about these. Are you you first on this one? Davis: yeah, I think I am first. Jackson: Okay. Davis: So we both went two and one last week, so pretty good pretty good week. The my loss was when I disagreed with you, and your loss is when you disagreed with my upset pick. Jackson: Yeah, it's true. Davis: So maybe we just need to not not contradict each other on these and we might we might not miss. Jackson: Yeah. Good idea. S you're right. I mean the two the two ones we disagreed with for the two losses on this one, so we'll see. Davis: All right, hit me with my first one. Southern Miss plus thirty three and a half against Auburn. I'm not sure that Auburn's scoring 33 and a half. God, our offense looked terrible. O-line struggled against Baylor. And Baylor does not impress me at all. I think this will be a low-scoring game. the over-under reflects that. so I went with the spread instead. I I think you could see a 40 to 10 final score, something around there, but I don't see Auburn putting up any gaudy numbers on the offensive end. So gimme Southern Miss put plus thirty three and a half. Jackson: My first one is Oregon State plus twenty six and a half. they moved the ball decently well in Houston last week. weren't able to run the ball, but they threw the ball pretty pretty effectively. they they scored twenty points. If they score twenty points this week, I think they will cover easily in the home opener against Texas Tech. Texas Tech did struggle a little bit last week. I just don't see them putting Up fifty something points in cover in a twenty six and half point spread. So give me over and say plus twenty six and a half. Davis: for the next game I like Minnesota plus one and a half against Mississippi State. I think this is another one of these numbers that might be inflated based on Like the shiny new shiny new toy with Camario Taylor. He looked good. He had some some wild plays for Mississippi State. So I think that that may may be driving the number down for Mississippi State. But I think that there's just such a huge gap in experience between Minnesota's roster and Mississippi State's roster. You got a lot of inexperience. on the O line for Mississippi State. and I think the rosters are I don't think that they're as close as what that plus one and a half indicates. I did do little bit of a deep dive and saw a stat can't remember where I saw it from so apologize that I'm not shouting shouting you out but Minnesota in their starting lineup actually has 3,000 more snaps played than Mississippi State. And so going back over the last six years, when there's a gap as wide as 3,000, the more experienced team wins 70% of the time. So combine that with that number being driven by the shiny new Camario Taylor, I like Minnesota plus one and a half. Jackson: Okay. For my next pick, I'm going Davis: God. Jackson: Give me Clemson, minus twenty and a half. It was ugly last week, but I think I think they get it done. I I I think this is gonna be a statement win for them. It's it's Dabo's get back game. Davis: Statement when has it has it gotten that bad? Jackson: Dude, it's g I mean not a statement win, but I mean they're they're gonna have to like they're gonna have to put up a number. Davis: They need to make a statement, When. Yeah. Jackson: Yeah, they're gonna have to put up a number against a team like Georgia Southern to like kind of restore some hope in t in the team. I mean, last week was horrible. And I think now that they're more open to switching around quarterbacks and kind of playing with the offense a little bit. I'm not worried the defense. I'm really not. I think F L S U is just that good and Elaine Kiffin in week one is it's it's hard to prepare for because you can't really prepare other than what you've seen at Ole Miss, but you know, you have new personnel and you don't know how they're gonna use the new personnel and it's just a it's just tough to prepare for. I'm not justifying a forty point loss, but I don't think Clemson's just I don't think this is a Florida State two point z. I I think they'll be Fine. I still think they'll win seven, eight games. and I think Georgia Southern is is the next team after a horrible loss and I think they're gonna use that to to get right. So I don't think they'll like try to put up style points, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. So giving Clemson a minus twenty and a half. Davis: What was your reaction to Will's take on Dabbo's Days Are Numbered? You think that was an overreaction? Jackson: No. I don't I don't I don't know. But when I was listening to it, I was like, Yeah, I mean, that's fair. Just because of what they have been and the unwillingness to kind of adapt to the new era of college football. Like, Davis: Mm-hmm. Jackson: he's not even trying. I mean he's kind of like coming along a little bit, but it's like you gotta get with the program or you're gonna get left behind, which I think they kinda already have. So Davis: Yeah. Jackson: it's gonna be t tough to fire a guy that won you what two national championships. Davis: Yeah. Jackson: he's just kind of established a new expectation at Clemson. I think it's tough 'cause he's the whole reason that that expectation exists. But You saw it last year with Gundy at Oklahoma State. Like there there comes a day where it's just time to move on. So no, I don't think that's an overreaction. I think if I think six and six is is the number that could get that done. I think if they miss a bowl game, it's for sure. I think they'll pull the trigger. I don't think they'll miss a bowl game, but Davis: Yeah, I don't think so either. right. My next one, Navy minus four and a half. So Florida Atlantic is coming off of a very physical game against Florida, where Florida, you know, just manhandled the them on the line of scrimmage. Jaden Baugh had himself a day rushing for believe it was over one seventy. so Florida Atlantic's probably beat up. What do they gotta do? Turn around and play a triple option team. I I think that the it the kind of the predictive metrics that I like to look at has this closer to seven, seven and a half. so with that and with who Florida Atlantic just played, I like Navy to cover the spread here. Jackson: Yeah, usually I I look at those the teams that play the big P four schools. I feel like the next week they kind of play better 'cause it's like, you know, I just went up against a bunch of five star guys and now I get to go up against a bunch of three star guys. But it's a different animal when you're going up against the triple option team the next week, so I like that one. Alright, for my next pick I took USC minus thirty and half. when you look at USC's like historical data against teams like Louisiana, they like to score and they like to score a lot a lot of points. So, yeah, give me USC minus thirty and a half. Not too much to say for that one. I just think it'll be another one of those games, playing at home where they just run it on up with Jordan Mayava. So I like USC. I like UC big. Alright, so that'll do with our our personal picks. we gotta come up with a better name for this. Davis: Plays of the week. Jackson: But yeah. Plays of the week. Plays the week. I like that. Alright, that'll do it for our plays of the week. Davis: Alright, so you can see this. Okay, so Yeah, so week one you beat me with a score of sixty two point nine to forty seven point three. We did not do too well. You had a big game from Deuce Alexander, but other than that, not too many points. And then most of my totals were hovering around the eight to ten marks. So hopefully that means we just got the the bad picks out of the way and we have Better players to pick from going forward. so here are the available matchups, Jackson: sh Davis: a lot of games to pick from. It's power four versus power four. since you won, I will let you get first pick. Jackson: All right, I'm gonna go quarterback Devin Dampier out of Utah. Davis: All right. With my first pick, I will go Jamari Johnson, tight end Oregon. believe he had a touchdown last week. Was pretty productive, even alongside Kenyon Sadiq. now that he's the the main tight end there, he's definitely a weapon. for Dante Moore. So I'm gonna go ahead and lock up my tight end. And then I guess if we're doing a snake draft here, then I will go for my receiver KJ Duff, I believe he put up one hundred and ninety six and three touchdowns. they're playing a power four opponent. Boston College, not a great team, but I expect Rutgers will have to throw the ball. So yeah, hopefully better better play this week than I've had last week. Jackson: Alright, I'll go receiver. I'll go Mario Kraver, Tex A Davis: That's a good pick. Jackson: Kinda same strategy you went last week with Davis: No, I wish I had Malachi Tony. Jackson: You you had somebody last week I they're they're playing a power four team and it's not a SEC team, so I will jump in that while I can. and grab Mario Kraver from AM. Davis: that was that was phase on out of Notre Dame and he didn't do much. All right. I think you're up again. Jackson: what do I have left? Titan running back? Davis: In flex. Jackson: Kind of I forgot to do this. Dude, I can't think of a tight end. Davis: That's why I went ahead and got Jamari Johnson. Jackson: Give me the tight end who give me Missouri's tight end one. Davis: Is it is it Northleet? Jackson: Yeah. Gimme Bretton Norfleet out of Missouri. It's kinda going random. I think I think I'll have a big wig. I think Kansas defense is a bunch of frauds. Davis: Okay. So for my next pick I will go Utah's running back Weyshawn Parker. Consult's defense is pretty terrible. I think they're gonna go up big and just run the ball. Alright, for my next pick and my flex, I will take Kansas' running back, Dylan Edwards. This is PPR. I expect they're going to throw it to him out of the backfield a good bit. Explosive player. Hopefully he breaks a long one long run. Jackson: I will take I'll take Jeremiah McClellan out of Oregon. Actually no. I'll take Evan Stewart. Think Ogulb State's gonna have a rough time with that offense, so gimme Evan Stewart. Davis: all right. As my for my quarterback I will go Marcel Reed. Jackson: Gimme gimme Gimme Satanga out of Oklahoma as my right receiver, as my flags. All right. Have you picked your last one? Davis: Yeah. you didn't take a running back. Jackson: Give me a clones running back. Avant. Yeah. Davis: All right, and that'll be the the teams here. Hopefully we have a little better luck this week.
