- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:43Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to a hypnosis
- 0:46session that is designed to unleash a new level of personal
- 0:51responsibility and proactivity. And I was working with a client
- 0:56that was. Already very successful.
- 0:58But they wanted to get their life to the very next level up.
- 1:02And for them that meant doing things that didn't need to be
- 1:06done. But by doing it, it would give
- 1:09them benefits to the future. And you can call this going the
- 1:13extra mile. You can call it being pre
- 1:15emptive, proactive or strategic, and many people live their life
- 1:20in a very reactive way. They'll kind of put things off,
- 1:23put things off, kick the can forward and then wait for there
- 1:27to be an absolute emergency or a deadline and then they find the
- 1:30resources. But the problem with that is
- 1:33that you're always on the back foot.
- 1:35And there are a few people, and we're talking probably under 10%
- 1:40of the population that tend to think two or three moves ahead.
- 1:44And they're thinking about the life that they want to have.
- 1:47And they're thinking, what do I need to do today to give me more
- 1:51of what I want in the future? And I would say exercise is a
- 1:55good example of that. Exercise.
- 1:57Some people feel good doing exercise, but a lot of people,
- 1:59they do it because they want to be healthier and have less
- 2:02sickness in the future. Or it might be investing.
- 2:06That actually investing means that you sacrifice certain,
- 2:10let's say, utility of the ability to use your money today,
- 2:14but you're making a bet that it's going to give you more of
- 2:17what you want in the future. And that could be security, that
- 2:20could be freedom, or whatever it might be.
- 2:22This particular client really wanted to have the cognitive
- 2:26resources. They wanted to have the time,
- 2:28and they wanted to have the freedom to be able to do what
- 2:31they wanted, when they wanted. And that's why there's a few
- 2:35different frames of reference here, different metaphors,
- 2:38different role models. And throughout fiction, I would
- 2:44say there are lots of characters that were very, very good at
- 2:48doing things ahead of time to give them an edge.
- 2:51And I would say characters like Sherlock Holmes, you know, is
- 2:55that kind of character or lots of the kind of the action
- 2:58heroes, they, they see what needs to be done and they do it
- 3:01before, before it kind of leads to somewhere.
- 3:05So there's those elements going through here.
- 3:08You'll hear a reference to a phrase called a fixer.
- 3:12A fixer in England is the term used to.
- 3:16It's normally someone that works for.
- 3:19It's a high level family that just gets done, things done,
- 3:23whatever needs to be done. And the client that I was
- 3:26working with, there was a particular TV show, a gangster
- 3:29TV show, and they had a fixer called, played by the character,
- 3:34the actor Tom Hardy. And they felt that he was a very
- 3:37resourceful person, that he just would get done anything that
- 3:40needs to be done. And he liked the idea of having
- 3:43that quality within him. So if you have this desire to
- 3:48get more out of life and to do something today that gives you
- 3:52an edge in the future, then I think you'll really benefit from
- 3:54this. But obviously, some of the
- 3:56references are going to be ideal for the client that I was
- 3:58working with, and they might not connect with you because you're
- 4:01someone different. So ignore any suggestions that
- 4:04don't quite fit. Hone into the ones that do, and
- 4:07if you like the idea of having something bespoke and created
- 4:11just for you, there will be a link in the description where
- 4:14you can schedule a completely free consultation call to
- 4:17explore working with me. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:20comfortable place where you're not going to be disturbed.
- 4:23Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:14you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath and
- 5:23as you exhale, release any feelings of tension, stress or
- 5:29worry. Just get a sense that they're
- 5:35leaving your body in your outward breath and notice your
- 5:41eyelids getting heavier and heavier.
- 5:44And when it feels right, perhaps on the next exhale, completely
- 5:50close your eyes and notice with your eyes closed how much more
- 5:58of your attention you can give to the sound of my voice,
- 6:05eyelids feeling heavier and heavier.
- 6:09And notice your breathing Slow down, breathing in for longer
- 6:17and exhaling perhaps for twice as long as you normally would.
- 6:27So much so that you create a vacuum which then activates the
- 6:36diaphragm so you're breathing from your belly and not just
- 6:40your chest. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 6:46more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel,
- 6:54the deeper you breathe. One of those cycles like a
- 7:02snowball effect. And I want you to imagine a
- 7:10snowy mountain, and I want you to imagine a tiny snowball at
- 7:19the top of that mountain that reaches the point of momentum,
- 7:28but the snowball gets bigger and bigger and bigger until it can
- 7:34roll down the mountain all by itself.
- 7:41And as you imagine seeing that snowball build up, it lets you
- 7:48know that compounding is one of the most powerful principles in
- 7:55the world. And whether it's a habit, a
- 8:01standard, perhaps even an intention, small things
- 8:10consistent can create powerful movements.
- 8:17So imagine yourself wearing whatever clothing is appropriate
- 8:22to be by the side of that snowy mountain.
- 8:27Perhaps you can imagine blue skies, sunshine, and maybe the
- 8:35sunshine is reflecting off the snow.
- 8:41Snow on the mountain, but also snow on the treetops.
- 8:47And there's something about this place that feels familiar, and I
- 8:55wonder if it's awakening apart within you, a part that was
- 9:02hopeful, grateful and connected. And perhaps you could imagine
- 9:12walking and feeling the crisp crunch of the snow beneath your
- 9:16feet. And I want you to imagine
- 9:23finding the perfect place in this scenic snow paradise and
- 9:34just imagine a comfortable chair, the kind of chair that
- 9:41you could relax in with the perfect view of the scenery.
- 9:48And just imagine sinking into that chair, feeling so relaxed,
- 9:57the kind of place where you could just really let go.
- 10:04And as you imagine sinking into that chair, I will count down
- 10:10from 5 to 1, and with each descending number you will
- 10:13imagine what it would feel like to drift deeper down into a
- 10:18dreamlike sleep. 5 eyelids getting heavier and heavier. 4A
- 10:27wave of relaxation down your face into your neck and your
- 10:30shoulders. Three arms and legs just feeling
- 10:34limp and loose and relaxed. And then two.
- 10:39Just imagine all of your internal organs, your lungs,
- 10:43your heart, your stomach, everything relaxing
- 10:47simultaneously as two becomes one.
- 10:51Just imagine drifting off into a dreamlike sleep, and in that
- 10:59dream, imagine you're in the same location, seeing your
- 11:03physical body fast asleep as you decide to venture somewhere
- 11:11else. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 11:15a ski lift. Keep your conscious mind there
- 11:19on that comfy chair in a dreamlike sleep, and allow the
- 11:26part of you that wants change to climb aboard the ski lift and
- 11:33enable it to take you in the direction that you desire.
- 11:41And sometimes people think of time like a timeline, forwards
- 11:48and backwards. And I want you to imagine this
- 11:53ski lift, there's a vantage point where you can see your
- 11:57past. And I want you to see a
- 12:01tendency, A tendency every now and then to put things off and
- 12:08kick the can forward. And of course you can continue
- 12:14life like that, but you realise from this vantage point that it
- 12:21gives you more stress than you would like.
- 12:27It creates open loops of worries, thoughts of what you
- 12:34should have done. So let's travel forwards to your
- 12:40future, a future of being more proactive, not because you have
- 12:49to, but because you want to. So allow your body to find that
- 13:00natural rhythm, breathing in slowly and deeply and exhaling
- 13:08just a little more fully than you breathed in.
- 13:13And with each breath, your awareness begins to turn inward,
- 13:19like turning down the volume on the world and tuning into
- 13:24something deeper, something quieter, a signal beneath the
- 13:31surface, guiding you inward. And as you listen to the sound
- 13:38of my voice, you will continue to feel deeper and deeper,
- 13:43relaxed, perhaps notice a heaviness in your limbs, or
- 13:51perhaps a gentle stillness that begins to spread deeper and
- 13:58deeper. Relaxed.
- 14:01Because maybe you already know. But nothing needs to be done
- 14:06right now except to just let go, To allow yourself this time, in
- 14:18this moment, allowing a journey to unfold within.
- 14:29Allow that ski lift to take you further and further into your
- 14:36unconscious mind. And the further along the ski
- 14:43lift you go, you feel more deeply connected and more deeply
- 14:50aligned with the version of you that already knows how to get
- 14:58things done. Feel yourself going to that
- 15:05place, a desire to get things done ahead of time and your
- 15:15imagination. Expand as you go deeper into
- 15:18that calm, creative place and allow the ski lift to continue
- 15:28forward until you can see a strange door on the side of a
- 15:38mountain not connected to a building.
- 15:41So you leave the ski lift and walk towards the door.
- 15:49And as you imagine walking through the door, I want you to
- 15:54imagine entering a vast library. A library that represents your
- 16:01mind. And maybe you can imagine oak
- 16:06bookshelves, row upon row of books representing ideas,
- 16:13intentions, memories and possibilities.
- 16:18Perhaps you can imagine impressive architecture, vaulted
- 16:23ceilings, the smell of knowledge in every book.
- 16:30And maybe there's warm glowing lighting, or perhaps candles.
- 16:39And in this library of your mind exists a calm silence that
- 16:48almost vibrates with intelligence.
- 16:53And I want you to find a table. And on that table is a scroll,
- 17:00an ancient scroll, glowing. And I want you to imagine that
- 17:06this scroll represents your weekly review.
- 17:14This isn't a chore. This is a catalyst for
- 17:20transformation. Because this scroll represents
- 17:25more than just tasks. And to do's consider this a
- 17:31strategic radar. What is the point of radar if it
- 17:38can't see things that can't be seen?
- 17:43This scroll becomes your real time reconnaissance map, like a
- 17:50satellite that sees the future from a bird's eye view.
- 17:59And this scroll reveals not just what's coming, but all the
- 18:05implications and connotations. I want you to feel a connection
- 18:11with this scroll because the more that you review and pre
- 18:19empt and do what you choose to do, when you choose to do it,
- 18:27rather than waiting until it simply has to be done, you are
- 18:33buying freedom, empowerment. And as you lean into the scroll,
- 18:45you begin to see that each responsibility is like an open
- 18:51loop and it's represented by a small flickering light.
- 18:59And some of these flickering lights are bright and pulsing,
- 19:05and others are faint and easily missed.
- 19:13But something within you now understands these flickers are
- 19:22like small fires, not yet problems.
- 19:29But if they're left alone, if they're delayed, if they kicked
- 19:34forward, then they could grow. The small flickers can become
- 19:40fires and the fires can get bigger and become destructive,
- 19:46stealing time, energy and emotion.
- 19:51And that awareness, that insight, is the fine line that
- 19:59separates those who react. From those who preemptively and
- 20:06strategically respond, and as you stand in this vast library,
- 20:17I want you to awaken a part that's always been within you.
- 20:23You can consider a part within you that is already a proactive
- 20:27strategist. This is the version of you that
- 20:35thinks in terms of decades, not days.
- 20:39The version of you that sees clearly, thinks ahead, and moves
- 20:45with purpose. I want you to awaken the
- 20:51proactive strategies within, and as this version of you awakens,
- 21:01it becomes obvious that delaying or deferring responsibility only
- 21:09compounds the future consequences.
- 21:14It's like ignoring a dripping tap that one day becomes a
- 21:18flood, or letting a small weed grow until it strangles a
- 21:27precious, valuable plant. And so from now on, the
- 21:35proactive strategist has permission to influence your
- 21:41intentions and motivations. So don't be surprised if you
- 21:48feel a powerful new urge emerging within you, an urge to
- 21:57act early, to take initiative. And maybe that's to handle the
- 22:09low hanging fruit, those quick wins that build momentum.
- 22:17That proactive strategist loves the weekly review because it
- 22:23wants to know everything on the radar to avoid danger to pre
- 22:32empt problems. And don't be surprised if you
- 22:37ask yourself, what can I do today that improves my life
- 22:45tomorrow? What small fires need attending
- 22:51and what trees in my orchard are bearing fruit now?
- 22:59Because some of the trees in your orchard need care and
- 23:04attention so that you can blossom tomorrow and bear fruit
- 23:11in the future. And each time you review, you
- 23:18will feel the desire to either do it, delegate it, or schedule
- 23:25it. No ambiguity, no kicking the can
- 23:31forward to one day. It's either a specific day, or
- 23:36now, or delegated or ditched. Because sometimes deciding
- 23:44you're not going to do something at all still resolves something
- 23:50giving you clarity. Calm action because you have
- 23:59always known that unattended fires only get bigger, and you
- 24:07may get lucky with the occasional fire that just dies
- 24:12out on its own with no consequence.
- 24:16But all it takes is 1, one spark that becomes a forest fire that
- 24:22can destroy everything. And when you handle things
- 24:28early, it frees your future. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 24:35feeling like a gardener in an orchard, tending to the trees
- 24:41that are already fruitful, pruning what needs pruning and
- 24:48watering those that need resources.
- 24:55And sometimes tending to a neglected tree becomes the very
- 25:02thing that can lead to future exponential reward, because a
- 25:11tree that could have died gives an infinite return on the
- 25:17investment if it then thrives. I want you to feel the vision to
- 25:26tell the difference and unlock the discipline to act
- 25:32accordingly. Which trees do you attend to and
- 25:41which trees simply aren't worth your time because you are the
- 25:47orchard owner and there are gardeners that will happily
- 25:53attend to some of these trees for you?
- 25:58I want you to feel a huge desire to delegate anything that can be
- 26:05delegated. But you delegate the duty, not
- 26:10the responsibility. You are there for quality
- 26:15control to make sure it's done to the required standard.
- 26:21Delegation is not deferring. Delegation is ensuring it gets
- 26:26done to a high standard, even if it's not you doing the doing.
- 26:34And maybe this proactive strategist represents an
- 26:39archetype that you admire, a Sherlock Holmes or perhaps a
- 26:50fixer. Someone that does whatever needs
- 26:54to be done to avoid consequences in the future.
- 27:05So whether it's that detective scanning ahead, pre empting
- 27:10chaos with elegance, or perhaps that fixer that's decisive,
- 27:17intuitive, calm under pressure, I want you to feel that now is
- 27:27the time to unleash the person within you that handles what
- 27:35needs handling without flinching, without fuss, without
- 27:42delay. You are unleashing the doer.
- 27:51You are becoming that kind of person.
- 27:58And every time you get something done, you feel that sense of
- 28:01accomplishment, of getting it done.
- 28:07And every time in the future that you're reminded of the
- 28:11freedom or the benefits of getting that thing done before
- 28:15you feel good again and again and again, because doing these
- 28:24things rewards you multiple times.
- 28:29Just like the orchard, a tree that is planted and attended
- 28:38bears fruit every season, not just the first season.
- 28:46I want you to feel that you are a person who sees the shape of
- 28:52things to come and does what's necessary to create powerful,
- 28:59self fulfilling prophecies. I want you to feel what it would
- 29:04feel like to move that way. To make the future easier,
- 29:10lighter and more aligned. Unleashing untold new levels of
- 29:16confidence, clarity, feeling a wonderful state of flow.
- 29:27Because when you've prepared well, been responsible,
- 29:32disciplined and conscientious, it almost feels like you can be
- 29:39intuitive. Like a great skier, the body
- 29:48knows how to ski so they can enjoy the skiing.
- 29:54And don't be surprised if when you awake every now and then,
- 29:59you start the day by asking, what's one thing I can handle
- 30:06right now that will make everything else easier later?
- 30:14What can I complete, delegate, or decide?
- 30:19What can I do now that will pay me dividends forever in the
- 30:23future? And each and every time you do
- 30:27this, you feel more competent, more in control, and more
- 30:35aligned with the best version of yourself.
- 30:42And as you leave the library, you climb aboard that ski lift
- 30:47once more, seeing further in the future now.
- 30:54But it's not the ski and the snow and the mountains you
- 31:00observe from the ski lift. It's your future in your
- 31:04reality, and I want you to see yourself in the days and weeks
- 31:10ahead. See that version of you that
- 31:14when unexpected things still happen, because they always do,
- 31:21you see yourself calm and stoic, responsive, no longer flustered
- 31:33or stressed. See yourself looking cool, calm,
- 31:37and decisive. And part of that is because
- 31:42you've cleared so many things that could be competing for your
- 31:47cognitive resources ahead of time.
- 31:51You can now see the wood for the trees.
- 31:55Like a strategist with pieces already in place, your 3 or 4
- 32:01moves ahead so you can act with elegance and decisiveness and
- 32:08handle surprises from a position of strength.
- 32:16See yourself taking pride in being proactive and pre emptive.
- 32:23See yourself looking alert, curious and focused.
- 32:27And see yourself doing your weekly review in whatever
- 32:33location you would normally do the weekly review, but now with
- 32:38a new expression on your face. It is the proactive strategist
- 32:45reviewing everything on the radar.
- 32:48And this version of you looks forward to it because this
- 32:55version of you can see the future.
- 32:58That version of you can distort time and space.
- 33:03That version of you, that version of you can load the dice
- 33:12so that to an outsider, things look easy and effortless and you
- 33:18look lucky, but you know you're not lucky.
- 33:24You've just done what you needed to do ahead of when you needed
- 33:28to do it. So see that version of you
- 33:33smiling more, winning more, celebrating more, but also
- 33:43enjoying life more Because when you do things ahead of time, you
- 33:53are buying yourself time, freedom, and peace.
- 33:58So see that version of you? Now?
- 34:04That's it. See that version of you enjoying
- 34:12a new quality of life? And that version of you seems
- 34:23happier, seems to have more self respect and personal pride
- 34:33because discipline buys your freedom.
- 34:39That version of you trusts your intuition because intuition is
- 34:44informed by pattern recognition. And you can see the patterns
- 34:50now. You can avoid the pitfalls
- 34:54because you recognize them. You act early in a state of flow
- 35:03and it feels good. Imagine stepping into that
- 35:07future version of you, that version of you where there's
- 35:14less to do because you've already done it.
- 35:17And it feels so good to know that your life is being pre
- 35:26empted, steered in the very direction you want to take it.
- 35:32You avoid the pitfalls and enable yourself to move towards
- 35:38what brings you most joy and satisfaction and happiness.
- 35:45And as you leave that place, find yourself back there on the
- 35:50stair lift, but this time going all the way back down until you
- 35:56see yourself fast asleep on a comfy chair on the side of a
- 36:03mountain with a scenic view. Imagine stepping into that
- 36:09version of you so that your unconscious and conscious is now
- 36:13synchronizing, updating. These new ways of thinking,
- 36:19planning and being are now dating your conscious mind too.
- 36:28And as you leave that chair, allow yourself to drift back to
- 36:33the present, taking a deep breath in through your nose and
- 36:39out through your nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 36:43wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 36:45here and the now. And very soon I will count from
- 36:501:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. And you will awaken with a new
- 36:55found level of proactivity, a desire to be pre emptive, to be
- 37:04disciplined and diligent before you even need to be starting to
- 37:11count to awaken you. 123 waking up. 456 more alert. 7-8 Open
