- 0:30one B joining me Rob Strano of what is it called Golf Kingdom or Kingdom
- 0:35Golf? Like? I can't remember? The TV show is the Golf Kingdom?
- 0:39Golf Kingdom? That's the TV show, Jerome Show. Jerome Hudson joins
- 0:43us, Jerome, is that on your radar? His TV show The Golf
- 0:46Kingdom? No, I have not heard of, So you're not You're not
- 0:52covering golf on social media? Huh? The Dylan Gwyn Meat Break Brand News
- 0:59sports editor. I'm sure it's all over it though. You know I came
- 1:06into this segment, I got I got nothing in front of me. So
- 1:07Jerome, go ahead and talk. That's usually the best way for us to
- 1:14do it. Now, you know what I want to I need you to
- 1:18give insight to me on this. Fox News is cratering, it's it is
- 1:26losing audience. Hand over fist. Here's my question for you. Is this
- 1:30in the grand scheme of things good? Well, I can say it's good
- 1:37for Breakfront News. Um, because after being pursued by Fox News fairly heavily
- 1:47a couple of years ago, I realize why I felt so good about where
- 1:53I am currently employed. UM. It's it's a massive me a company.
- 2:00And that is not necessarily a bad thing. Fox News is. UM.
- 2:05But I think oftentimes when a company grows so large, H And I guess
- 2:13I don't have to tell you this preston having you know, worked for massic
- 2:17conglomerate, UM, you sort of lose the message, you know. UM,
- 2:24it sort of becomes a telephone game the culture that the company started with.
- 2:31And I think that's very true for Fox News. UM. You know,
- 2:35sadly, it could probably date back to the passage of its founder,
- 2:38Roger Ailes. UM. I just explained it this way, and I did
- 2:46it yesterday a standing date that I have with an older gentleman from my church
- 2:52here in Jacksonville. You know, at bright part News, we don't cheat
- 2:54our audience. We don't talk to them like there's stupid. We do the
- 3:00opposite, try to report as much of the facts about a story as possibly
- 3:07can. We of course don't get everything right, and I think our alreadience
- 3:12appreciates that, and you know that the numbers don't lie, and it continues
- 3:16to grow as big as it is and engaged as as I already exist.
- 3:23I don't think Fox News does that all the time. I mean, they're
- 3:25certainly not as bad as MSNBC or NBC or ABC or the rest of the
- 3:30establishment left wing media, but they've become a corporate culture. People like Paul
- 3:38Ryan being on the Fox News board eventually has an effect on how they report
- 3:45on immigration and how they report on the poisoning of Americans on our southern border,
- 3:51the way that they report on presidential or political candidates, real issues,
- 4:00um, and so it is. I think Fox News is important. They
- 4:04do a lot of good work. I know a lot of good people there,
- 4:09but they're certainly in the middle. I mean, you see their Nate
- 4:13late night lineup shifting. It's basically the same, but it's different. Um,
- 4:16the way they handled the ouster of Tucker Carlson, probably the most important
- 4:21man and cable news probably all the news media. Um. You know,
- 4:30I think it'll all work itself. Out. Um, you know it's a
- 4:34little bit sad. Is a better Fox News? I feel like made for
- 4:41a better Bright Button News, you know what I mean? Like the better
- 4:44Fox News was at reporting. Um, I could see it in my own
- 4:48news room. It's sort of raised the stakes for everybody. Um, but
- 4:54I don't and I don't know what's going to happen to Fox News. I
- 4:57am there. I am good. Example, Glenn Is on nine to noon,
- 5:02I am Stronger every day on WFLA eleven minutes after the hour, Jerome
- 5:12Hudson with me from Bright Bart Fifty Things books, Fifty things they don't want
- 5:15you to know, Fifty things they don't want you to know about Trump was
- 5:18book two and a soon third coming book. Jerome, Let's let's talk some
- 5:25more about Fox. What was a bigger deal Rupert stepping down from really actively
- 5:30being involved or Lachlan stepping up, Lachlan stepping up. I think Lupert Murdoch,
- 5:42I mean, I honestly believe Luper Murdoch at the end of the day
- 5:46has a good sense of the news medium medium in several different countries and really
- 5:57just wants to make a lot of money. Um. You know, he's
- 6:01not an American citizen, and so that always gives me a little pause,
- 6:05and it makes me a little suspect about you know, his his his appreciation
- 6:12for how a maxive medium dues in the information like Fox News can have on
- 6:19the country long term. But nevertheless, you know, if he's he's Rubert
- 6:27Murdock is good at the news thing, uh, Lakeland more of a wildcard
- 6:31a bit. You know, never really see him at the highest levels running
- 6:35the show. And you know, to be honest with you, I just
- 6:43not knowing that much about him about what he deeply believes in terms of the
- 6:48most actual issues facing this country as it relates to you know, the largest
- 6:55center right uh news organs um gives me a lot of pause. And you
- 7:01know, again like you know, people like Paul Ryan having massive amounts of
- 7:06sway over the news and the opinions that are disseminated a Fox News is disincerting
- 7:16soum hey day boy, They're really and it's well, yeah, I mean
- 7:24we talked earlier in the program. They've gone from a primetime share of fifty
- 7:28one percent to thirty eight percent since Tucker's left, and it's not going to
- 7:31get any better with their new lineup, they might stabilize the free fall,
- 7:35but Jerome to me, it's more fundamental than well. It's displayed in fundamental
- 7:43things like when they're writing on transgender issues, insisting on using the proper pronouns
- 7:48versus the accurate pronouns. Those two me are tip offs. Yeah, I
- 7:56guess I'll let the audience in on a little secret here. The majority of
- 8:01the people who work at the New York Posts, the Believe, the oldest
- 8:05newspaper in the country and is often viewed as a center right newspaper. The
- 8:09majority of the people who work there, the majority of the people who run
- 8:13the show, that is, the executives, the executive editors, they're Democrats,
- 8:18and they're like long time Democrats, big check writing democrats. And the
- 8:26same can be said for Fox News. You know, I don't think the
- 8:31majority of the people who work there probably don't align with their audience, certainly
- 8:39not on everything, but on most issues political and cultural. But I think
- 8:43people would be surprised to know that people running the show of Fox News don't
- 8:48exactly share the politics of the majority of the Fox nejoritlests. And I think
- 8:54that is starting to become clear for people particularly people who are in the know.
- 9:01The mask is slipping, if you will. Did they keep it in
- 9:03check when Rupert was overseeing things more directly? I think so? And any
- 9:09he's what extrajnarian however you say that word. It's just probably one of those
- 9:16things where culturally he's he doesn't necessarily fit anymore and in a change you know
- 9:22time, Uh, there's he probably doesn't want to have the con anymore,
- 9:30if you will. At this point, he's getting up there. There is
- 9:35that that that familial uh, you know, aspect of it is it's his
- 9:41sons are running the show. Um, and they're younger, they have new
- 9:45ideas. They probably think they could do it better. Uh And you know,
- 9:50well, it's clear, Jerome stand by, it's clear that they're not
- 9:54doing it better. And I'm wondering when shareholders are going to say enough.
- 9:56Sixteen minutes after the hour more with Jerome Hudson on the Morning Show with Preston
- 10:01Scott on your phone with the iHeart radio app and on hundreds of devices like
- 10:05Alexa, Google Home, Xbox and Sonos, Yes and I Hearts Radio station
- 10:15twenty one minutes after the hour, or on the Morning Show with Preston Scott,
- 10:18he's an alumnus of this radio program. I don't know. I hope
- 10:24he's a proud alumnus. Jerome Hudson with us. At least it makes him
- 10:31laugh. The latter is true. I do oftentimes if I am forced to
- 10:39give my origin story, give all due raise to you. Oh stop better
- 10:48your early stewardship in tutelage in Mint mentoring me a wayward a wayward child of
- 10:56God. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Jero Mudson with us from
- 11:01Breitbart dot Com. Jerome how, how at what point does shareholder interest and
- 11:11even the legal responsibility from a fudciary perspective start to make a dent in Disney
- 11:20decision making because they seemed to be intent on alienating their entire audience. That's
- 11:30Disney. Yeah no, what I say from one fledgling multimedia company in a
- 11:35news corps MutS news to Disney, you do see pushed back from shareholders.
- 11:41And you know, Bob Jpek was hired in the latter part of twenty twenty
- 11:46one, and he made it just over a year in the job of CEO
- 11:50at Disney because he actually managed to come in at CEO and and accelerate the
- 11:58pace of the destruction of Disney, and so he was ousted as well as
- 12:03several other executives, and Bob Iger was brought back as CEO, and he
- 12:11hasn't actually fixed the problem. Disney stock is down over one hundred and twenty
- 12:16five dollars in the last two years. I think that goes directly to your
- 12:20point. There are a lot of people hold a lot of Disney stock,
- 12:24and for a long time they did it for good reason, because it was
- 12:26a company that basically printed money. And in the last half decade, Disney
- 12:33has gone from that family first company to the equivalent of a multi multi national
- 12:43sex offender. You can't leave your children around Disney programing a low that I'm
- 12:52gonna borrow that one. That's good hum. It's just, you know,
- 13:01riding around in a van, you can see the upper body before you don't
- 13:05want to know what the lower body looks like. And you know, I
- 13:13took umbridge a couple of months ago, as you know, you know,
- 13:18I'm so blessed to be an editor at right Bart News. I worked with
- 13:22very brilliant and diligent and just beautiful people, growing beautiful families. Sometimes I
- 13:28feel in the brilliance that I'm surrounded around. But I was smart enough to
- 13:33know a couple of months ago Preston that the headlines that came out after the
- 13:37second quarter Disney's losses Disney Plus, this streaming version of Disney, the headlines
- 13:46and the New York Times and Bloomberg and the Economic Times were that Disney's losses,
- 13:52Preston had strength or shrunk and that was a good thing. And I
- 13:56was like, what, So they went from losing a billion dollars plus on
- 14:01Disney Plus to losing just less a billion dollars and that was good news.
- 14:07And I've I've sly take it? Am I am I crazy? And I
- 14:13wasn't crazy because it sounds like George W. Bush when he said a reduction
- 14:16in the amount of the deficit, right like that that there's this there's this
- 14:24principle at the the the wardens nothing with the school is the Harderst Business School.
- 14:30I can't remember the actual name of it, but there's this principle called
- 14:33negative elevation, where like bad news is all is also goodness. And I
- 14:39get that. I understand how that can work in some ways, but that
- 14:43doesn't make any sense. Disney Plus wasn't launched to lose less money than they
- 14:50thought they would lose. I mean, they knew that the thing would take
- 14:52time to become profitable, but Bob Eiger had a vision, He had a
- 14:58goal at a specific date. He said, by twenty twenty four, Disney
- 15:01Plus will be profitable. And I don't know if he was aware of the
- 15:07fact that his company, Disney It's content production, was housed with executives Preston
- 15:15who, because they have transgender kids, think that every parent wants their child
- 15:20to be exposed to that sort of content. It's not working and it's never
- 15:26going to work. As as we talked, Off learned, there are bedrock
- 15:31principles that made this country great. There are shared values among many of us.
- 15:35Even though he turned on the TV and doesn't feel like it's that every
- 15:39day, but it's true. And Disney used to reflect that, and they
- 15:43no longer do. They're pumping out poison and it's toxic and sadly it's it's
- 15:50starting to lose a lot of people money. Jerome, as always, I
- 15:54wish we had more time, but I appreciate the time you're able to wedge
- 15:58out for us. Thank you, my friend. Be well, love you,
- 16:02God bless you. Love you too. Joe Mudson with us this morning
