Sometimes we hold on to people simply because they've been around for years.
But history doesn't automatically equal loyalty.
And time doesn't automatically make somebody safe.
Stop measuring relationships only by how long somebody's been there. Start paying attention to HOW they've been there.
Do they respect your boundaries?
Do they celebrate your victories?
Can they be trusted with your vulnerabilities?
Or do they only show up when they need something?
