Latest / Brandon Fogal Evolution / #64 - Boy Meets World Cast Fight, Bitcoin Shaky, Dan Crenshaw Hot Mic, & Joy Reid Out!
Transcript
- 0:00A heated argument breaks out in the Boy Meets World, the spinoff,
- 0:04Pod Meets World podcast.
- 0:07Bitcoin is doing pretty shaky right now. Dan Crenshaw caught in a hot mic moment.
- 0:12Lester Holt has stepped down and Joy Reid is out. My name is Brandon Fogle. This is Evolution.
- 0:19Let's dive into it. So we're going to take a couple looks. I wanted to start off with Bitcoin.
- 0:23It's been up and down lately. actually Bitcoin is going down.
- 0:26Right now it's at the just under $90,000 mark, which is we talk about a few
- 0:32years back and that would have seemed pretty astronomical.
- 0:35I think Bitcoin is going to plummet. I am not a financial advisor,
- 0:39but we have seen that Bitcoin shoots up and then it crashes.
- 0:44But the trend is always going upward for Bitcoin. So I am extremely hesitant.
- 0:51I would not sell any Bitcoin, whatever.
- 0:54My heart is a little more shaky itself in putting all reliance on Bitcoin.
- 0:59But I also know Bitcoin is the future, but maybe the distant, distant future.
- 1:05But I'm of the opinion, if you have Bitcoin, hold the line, hold the line.
- 1:10But that's just me. So there's a lot of stuff happening.
- 1:14Just so you can kind of see where Bitcoin is up, going down.
- 1:16It had reached over well over 100,000, and now it's down, like, right at 88,000.
- 1:23We've seen Bitcoin, like, I remember when it was at 9,000, we were like,
- 1:26oh my gosh, that was like maybe 2015, 2016-ish, or I don't know,
- 1:31all those years kind of run together.
- 1:33But it was, it seemed like it shot up, but then it drastically plummeted,
- 1:38and everybody was selling.
- 1:39You know, it's tough to gauge Bitcoin because it goes with the whales.
- 1:45The whales that own Bitcoin kind of determine what's happening.
- 1:49And they buy a bunch and then they sell off.
- 1:52Meanwhile, the little guy like you and me who wants to get in the game and have
- 1:57some crypto. I mean, I try to get some crypto out there.
- 2:00Out of them all, Bitcoin is the gold of the future, you know?
- 2:03So that's what I would say. So I'm hesitant, very hesitant to sell, but I'm not a day trader.
- 2:09I'm definitely not a day trader. I don't have the heart for it.
- 2:12I don't think I could be a day trader.
- 2:15In other news, Dan Crenshaw, I don't know if you saw this. We're going to take a look at what he said.
- 2:20I got caught on a hot mic after an interview, and he was asked about his views on Tucker Carlson.
- 2:27You know, this is off the record. This is off the record. But it seems like
- 2:30if you were in the public office or any position that is out there,
- 2:34you know, you're a public figure.
- 2:35You're never off the record. You're never off the record. I mean,
- 2:39personal citizen is, you know, they can be off the record or whatever,
- 2:41but a public office representative, whatever, they gotta be ready every second
- 2:47of the day, you know? They cannot let their guard down.
- 2:49There's people, too many hot mics, there's too many hidden cameras and all that,
- 2:53and Dan Crenshaw got caught in the crossfire.
- 2:55Let's just take a look at what he said. Have you ever met Tucker?
- 3:00So there it is. You couldn't really hear it if you're just listening,
- 3:03but he said, have you ever met Tucker? What did you think of him?
- 3:07And then Dan Crenshaw, like, thinking he's not being heard by anybody else, says...
- 3:12If I find them, I'll F and kill them. I don't know how you could not like Tucker Carlson.
- 3:17I do not understand that one bit, but obviously he's got some beef with them.
- 3:21You got to be careful what you say. And to say something about Tucker,
- 3:24you got to know, you got to be aware, like that people are going to,
- 3:28it's going to get out, you know?
- 3:30And I mean, I think ultimately, if we're willing to say it out loud,
- 3:34I think a lot of, I think it needs to be said.
- 3:36And I don't think, I don't think he really cares.
- 3:39I don't think Dan Crenshaw would care that people heard about, heard it.
- 3:42I think, I mean, you wouldn't say it unless you wanted it to,
- 3:45in the inkling of your mind to get out there and somehow, you know, like he has to know.
- 3:51He obviously knows that he's just done with an interview and this happens.
- 3:57And then he says that that quickly. But why you would dislike Tucker Carlson?
- 4:02I do not get it. Does anyone else out there not like Tucker Carlson?
- 4:05I think when he was at Fox, I think people could, you know, because people just
- 4:09immediate distaste for Fox. But Tucker, now he's got his own gig,
- 4:14his own thing. He was, you know, let go at Fox.
- 4:17And everything he says is gold, I think.
- 4:20Everything Tucker says is gold. You know, he's, I guess it's all a part of how
- 4:24you say things a lot of the times. It's how you say things.
- 4:27But like, Tucker is not shy away from being bold and having an opinion.
- 4:32And he voices that very clearly.
- 4:34In other news, Lester Holt and Joy Reid are, they, for different reasons,
- 4:39different reasons. Lester Holt, he's kind of at the end of his game, you know.
- 4:43He wants to kind of move on to greener pastures and just he's done. He's put his time in.
- 4:49Joy Reid, on the other hand, it seemed like she was, you know,
- 4:52it was a decision from the top.
- 4:54It says, you need to step down, and they cut her, you know. A lot of people
- 4:57are jumping up and down and thrilled and all that about Joy Reid.
- 5:02I get that, you know. I didn't study too much up on Joy Reid.
- 5:05I didn't watch. I don't think I watched one of her shows. All I would ever see was clips of her.
- 5:10And it seemed like the things she would say, I mean, that would make,
- 5:14it would make you hold your nose a little bit.
- 5:17For me, you know, like I couldn't, some of the opinions she had was tough for
- 5:22me. It was definitely tough for me.
- 5:23And I can get why people are thrilled that she is no longer there.
- 5:29She was at MSNBC for a while now, you know, and she had a megaphone for a long time.
- 5:36Every time somebody gets let go, it seems like something better can come along.
- 5:40So it was her time to get out. You know, we can look at it as like,
- 5:43yay, she doesn't have that position anymore.
- 5:45But for her, it might be a blessing. It might be a blessing.
- 5:49You know, you might have been there where you.
- 5:51You weren't going to make as much of an impact for your cause and for your beliefs and all that.
- 5:56So maybe for her, it can be a good thing. You know, there's a bright side to
- 6:00every, we are all humans. We are all people.
- 6:02So, I mean, her getting let go. I don't think it's not, I don't,
- 6:05I hope I don't ever get to the point where I am thrilled that somebody gets fired.
- 6:10I don't ever want to be that type of person because no matter how much money
- 6:14you think they got or how much, you know,
- 6:17publicity or how fame they have, they're still a person, You know,
- 6:21so maybe for her, this can be a, a better way forward and maybe her to check
- 6:27some of her positions, you know?
- 6:28And I think the people that are on the other side, if we extend grace to her,
- 6:32maybe she might extend grace to the opinions she disagrees with, you know?
- 6:37Meanwhile, I got Bitcoin is just going bananas. I don't know if Bitcoin,
- 6:40that's why I could not, I could not ever be like a day trader in Bitcoin.
- 6:45My heart would probably leap out of my chest. I would just, I would panic,
- 6:49be in panic mode constantly and stress constantly.
- 6:52That's why, I mean, dog brokers, they, they got an extra pair of skin,
- 6:58you know, to wear just to be able to, to get through the day and not,
- 7:01you know, cry every night.
- 7:03You know, I don't know the, the news of the day, at least for me,
- 7:06this is what stood out to me.
- 7:07And it was Maitland Ward went on pod meets world, which was a spinoff of boy meets world.
- 7:14And there was a confrontation with her and Danielle Fischel,
- 7:18who was the well-known beloved figure Topanga on Boy Meets World.
- 7:23If you all remember Boy Meets World, I grew up on Boy Meets World and
- 7:28The later years, I kind of fell away and I had to look up like,
- 7:32what is Ben Savage doing right now?
- 7:34Because he's not a part of this posse anymore. He's kind of left the building.
- 7:38He actually ran for Congress last year. He, as a Democrat in California, he ran for Congress.
- 7:45He did not win, but I had to look up a video of him going on just some nightly
- 7:50news and talking and telling about his position and what he believes and what he wants to do.
- 7:54I mean, he's the boy that met world.
- 7:59He's a reasonable person. So I can get on board with him.
- 8:03I mean, I don't know if I could vote Democrat, but maybe he could persuade me. I don't know.
- 8:09But we'll see if his political future is bright.
- 8:12Let's take a look at what Maitland had to say with her in the crossfire between her and Topanga.
- 8:18You're trying to go at me now to get the ratings because you know that people
- 8:21will be interested in Maitland. I don't control you guys.
- 8:24I just want Maitland. Remember good times.
- 8:27No, Maitland, sorry. I'm not the one who wanted to go for ratings.
- 8:31There was some beef between us because I, and I didn't get it.
- 8:34So there's a lot of storylines happening there.
- 8:37And I know I'm not, I'm not TMZ.
- 8:41You know, I'm not, I, even in that, like, I'm, I can't, I don't think I could
- 8:45be a person that's paparazzi and just following celebs down the street and taking
- 8:50the pictures when they're not ready for it.
- 8:52But this story stood out to me because this story...
- 8:56I love Boy Meets World and anybody out there that is a 90s boy,
- 9:00you know, born in the 80s, obviously born in 1985, but I am a 90s boy.
- 9:06I love I love the 90s, 90s and everything about it. You know,
- 9:09that was when times were great. Times were great.
- 9:12The shows were fire. The shows were awesome.
- 9:15Boy Meets World was one of them. You know, TGIF, if anybody out there remembers
- 9:20TGIF and the shows that were on there, you know, I don't know if we're ever
- 9:25going to come back to such a wholesome time,
- 9:28a show that is teaching lessons, you know, like, and I don't know if everybody
- 9:33wants to, I mean, we progress as a society, you know, it's not,
- 9:36it's not Andy Griffith, you know, days anymore.
- 9:39We're, you know, it's not, I love Lucy anymore, but like this,
- 9:42it's, this is how it is now.
- 9:44But I can remember simpler times. I can remember when times were pretty dang sweet.
- 9:49And a fond memory for me was definitely Boy Meets World.
- 9:55And Maitland going on there. So there was some controversy. So she was in the
- 9:59later episodes when they kind of got a little bit older. Corey had grown up, you know.
- 10:03Eric was the funniest freaking dude ever, you know. He was the guy.
- 10:07And if you look at kind of his story and how they started him out in the show,
- 10:11and he brought that comedic relief to some of the more serious moments on the show.
- 10:17There were serious moments on Boy Meets World. We saw this boy.
- 10:20We saw him meet world. I mean, he grew up from a little kid that long.
- 10:25You know, we, I don't, we don't have shows like that that are that long,
- 10:28where you see them from a little kid growing up to becoming an adult,
- 10:32going to college and like that, you know, the Simpsons, I mean,
- 10:35they're a, they're a different deal in themselves and they don't grow up.
- 10:39They, they stay at the same age. The story was always Topanga and Corey and
- 10:43Maitland, who came on the show, I would say later on,
- 10:46I wasn't really in tune with what was happening at that time period,
- 10:51like the later years, especially.
- 10:53Those aren't emblazoned on
- 10:56my memory as the younger ones. But I do remember her. I do remember her.
- 11:00And she came back to a show that I keep calling her Topanga, Danielle Fishel.
- 11:06I would never have thought that was her name, but I just knew her as Topanga.
- 11:10That she had a girl meets world in the mid 2000, like 2015 ish.
- 11:15And like a spinoff of it. And there was some heated, there was some bad blood
- 11:19between Danielle and Maitland coming to that show.
- 11:23And it is completely a matter of perspective because if you see Maitland's vantage
- 11:29point and you see Danielle's vantage point, they're completely different.
- 11:34That's why you can have an encounter with somebody and have a life with them.
- 11:38And they are seeing it through a different lens than you because Danielle,
- 11:43who was Topanga, she, she thought they had a great relationship.
- 11:48She thought when she was on the show that she was nice to her, everything was great.
- 11:51But Maitland just came at it and she said, you were, you completely just ignored me.
- 11:57You defriended me on Facebook, which I mean, who hasn't been there?
- 12:01Who hasn't been defriended on facebook you know but it's
- 12:04and and danielle was like i don't know how that happened
- 12:07i don't know how you got we're not friends on facebook anymore
- 12:09i i didn't do it you know but she's like she seriously
- 12:13doesn't understand what went down she did not see things through the same lens
- 12:17perspective that maitlin has it maitlin was also she went into the adult film
- 12:22industry so i don't know if that had anything to do with what was going on or
- 12:26just like she just was was on a way different path than Danielle.
- 12:31So this, this heated argument that came on, I had actually, I had been following
- 12:36this boy pod meets world, you know, podcast by, by these guys that are,
- 12:42it's everyone, but Corey, it's everyone, but Ben Savage, who's not there pretty much.
- 12:46And they're, they're running the show. You should check out their podcast.
- 12:50It's pretty, it's pretty good.
- 12:51I, um, I need to watch some more or listen to it. You know, I don't,
- 12:54I didn't really find them on YouTube. I looked for them on YouTube and I didn't see too much.
- 12:58I don't know if they're really not uploading stuff to YouTube because it like
- 13:01stuff, the latest stuff was from years ago, but their podcast is running strong.
- 13:06They might have exclusive deals with Apple or Google.
- 13:11IHeartRadio or something like that because I did not really see what they were
- 13:14putting out there on YouTube. It did not stand out to me.
- 13:16But this was very interesting to me and it is a matter of perspective.
- 13:21So maybe take a step back and think about how are other people seeing your relationship with them?
- 13:30The people that you encounter every day, how are they, can you put yourself in their shoes.
- 13:35You might think everything's great and wonderful, but they might want to kill
- 13:40you. They might be disgusted by you, you know?
- 13:43And I, something I recently learned is you want, everybody wants to be liked.
- 13:48You know, I like to be liked. I need to be liked. I have to be liked.
- 13:53And, but the best way to be liked is to like and love everybody.
- 13:59Like and love everybody. Like, I mean, crazy like and love them.
- 14:05Like overboard like people, the people that you encounter every day.
- 14:10I mean, you say you don't naturally like somebody like them more than ever,
- 14:15like them more than ever. And just like show them how much you like them.
- 14:18Be just like a crazy fanatic person, you know, just like, like, you know,
- 14:23restraining order type of like, you know, maybe not that far,
- 14:26but like them and that will
- 14:28make people like and love you so much
- 14:31more so that's just a food for thought something to think about and you should
- 14:36check out that boy meets world pod meets world podcast and we'll see where this
- 14:41saga this narrative the storyline goes with danielle and maitland you know there's
- 14:47a lot more to it you know you should go check it out and all right we'll leave it at that.
