- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent. Welcome to Untraditionally, Lala, Hello, gorgeous, Hello,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the bonus episode of Untraditionally Lala. I have
- 0:12Speaker 1: tt here. By the time you guys hear this episode,
- 0:17Speaker 1: San Antonio will have played another game. If they play
- 0:21Speaker 1: as sorry as they played on Wednesday night, it will
- 0:24Speaker 1: be over. It will be That is absolutely correct. How
- 0:28Speaker 1: you give up a thirty point lead is just beyond me.
- 0:31Speaker 2: But I'm going to put it in the air, just
- 0:33Speaker 2: right here. Fantastic game. I'm so excited for Game six.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Put it in the air.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It was. It's been a really good series. But I
- 0:41Speaker 1: just you know, halftime is not a friend of the Spurs.
- 0:46Speaker 1: They come back looking like the aliens from Moron Mountain
- 0:52Speaker 1: in space jam went into the locker room and stole
- 0:55Speaker 1: all their talent.
- 0:57Speaker 3: And their confidence.
- 0:59Speaker 1: You know, I just I don't like the Knicks. I
- 1:01Speaker 1: just I'm going to say it here and now. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: was cool with them until I saw the way some
- 1:05Speaker 1: of the fans acted after Game three, and I was
- 1:11Speaker 1: appalled and grossed out. And then I was especially appalled
- 1:14Speaker 1: and grossed out that the Knicks organization and the players
- 1:17Speaker 1: did not issue a statement to say anyway, let's move on.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I spiraled about it all night. My legs went numb,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I dreamed about it, had nightmares about it.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I fell asleep at like nine p thirty, like right
- 1:30Speaker 2: after the game because depression set in.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I just don't know why I'm so into it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It's the finals, come on, No, but I don't baseball,
- 1:39Speaker 2: Like I won't sleep when the World Series comes and
- 1:41Speaker 2: it's say even launch this, but god, it's good.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It is good. It's so word. The series is super good.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And if it brings everyone together good or bad New
- 1:50Speaker 2: York bad, I'm really everybody's on the same page, kind.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Of like Love Island.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Come on, we're all talking about the same thing. It
- 1:58Speaker 2: talking about Love Island at all these people I tried
- 2:01Speaker 2: to watch, I couldn't watch.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I've heard people talk about it. It's really bad this season.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It really is.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I've seen so many people talking about how everything is forced.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And last season was just like.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Like the people obviously watched other people come up, yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and they just try to take on that. Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 2: There's there's a lot of people on there that like,
- 2:23Speaker 2: you know, when they get on there and say I
- 2:25Speaker 2: knew somebody and they were putting up a front like
- 2:27Speaker 2: now they're making videos and they're like this person I'm
- 2:29Speaker 2: friends with and this.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Is not who everyone's wanting.
- 2:33Speaker 2: People are doing that, and they're like they're fake, They're
- 2:35Speaker 2: not this, they're not that. There's a lot of there's
- 2:38Speaker 2: just a lot.
- 2:39Speaker 1: There's a lot. Well yeah, yeah, but people are upsets.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It's on like twelve days a week.
- 2:46Speaker 3: It's on for too many days of the week.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Like if you miss two days, they're like, you got
- 2:50Speaker 2: to catch up, and I'm like, catch a catchp hours.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I have a life, thank you, yeah, because then you
- 2:55Speaker 1: you play catch up, but then that night there's another one. Right,
- 2:58Speaker 1: it's like three televis.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Is Wednesdays and Saturdays. And I'm sorry, I'm not there's
- 3:05Speaker 2: too many games on. I got the Stanley Cup, i
- 3:07Speaker 2: got the NBA Finals. I'm not watching Love Island for
- 3:10Speaker 2: these bombshells.
- 3:12Speaker 1: If there's if there's a game on, I'm not watching
- 3:16Speaker 1: anything else. And by the way, don't hit me up
- 3:18Speaker 1: and be like want to watch the game when it's
- 3:21Speaker 1: five thirty and the game starts at five thirty, because
- 3:23Speaker 1: now I'm hunkered down. You got to let me know.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'll get to you four thirty five o'clock gets situated
- 3:30Speaker 1: in my spot that I'll move during halftime and then
- 3:34Speaker 1: replant myself in the same spot. All right, moving on,
- 3:38Speaker 1: So this bonus episode, you guys have been leaving comments
- 3:42Speaker 1: and voicemails and all of the things, and this listener
- 3:46Speaker 1: she sent a DM and I loved it so much
- 3:51Speaker 1: and it's perfect to talk about right now because it
- 3:54Speaker 1: is along the lines of alcohol. And I'm going to
- 3:58Speaker 1: Vegas today to celebrate the opening of vander Pump Hotel
- 4:03Speaker 1: in Insanity. I'm so excited. It's just like a quick
- 4:07Speaker 1: overnight trip. But as you know, Vegas is driven by alcohol.
- 4:12Speaker 1: It gets intense and it's definitely a different experience when
- 4:16Speaker 1: you're not drinking. But that's okay, okay, she said, Hi,
- 4:19Speaker 1: Laala and Easton. I lost my father young and sudden.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I took it really hard and leaned all the way
- 4:24Speaker 1: into alcohol. I just had my third baby and want
- 4:27Speaker 1: to embrace being one hundred percent sober. I saw Parier,
- 4:30Speaker 1: which is a sparkling water for those of you who
- 4:32Speaker 1: don't know, helped you when you were craving a drink,
- 4:35Speaker 1: So I tried it is my favorite part. My god,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it was perfectly crisp. When I was craving alcohol. It
- 4:43Speaker 1: helped pass the moment. So my question is how many
- 4:46Speaker 1: perriers did you drink? At the beginning? I am wanting
- 4:49Speaker 1: like ten a day and they are not cheap anything
- 4:52Speaker 1: else to help? And then she wrote the vape question mark.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yeah, Tron, I try to get off that. Don't pick
- 4:58Speaker 3: up the vape if you can.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. For me, it was like a pick
- 5:03Speaker 1: your poison poison. That's where it was for me.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And I'm still picking that poison of the vape and I.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Am now on.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Trying to get rid of that, and that's honestly harder
- 5:17Speaker 1: than liquor for me right now. So I want to
- 5:19Speaker 1: say this. When I went to it was in within
- 5:23Speaker 1: my first year of sobriety, and I I was still,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you know, filming the show that I was on, and
- 5:32Speaker 1: that also had a lot of drinking in the environment.
- 5:34Speaker 1: In my life was just very much centered around like
- 5:39Speaker 1: going out and not partying, but drinks around. And I
- 5:44Speaker 1: remember going to a meeting and I had hit a
- 5:49Speaker 1: friend's vape at the time, and I was like, oh,
- 5:51Speaker 1: this is kind of nice and it's helping, you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: not crave the alcohol, Like I feel like I can
- 5:58Speaker 1: go out and if I have the vape with me,
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'm not thinking about a drink. So during the meeting,
- 6:06Speaker 1: like before people you know, go, they get a coffee,
- 6:09Speaker 1: they're talking before the meeting starts, and I had the
- 6:13Speaker 1: vape with me and this woman said how long do
- 6:16Speaker 1: you plan on smoking that? And I was like, not long,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it's just to help me. You know, I'm only in
- 6:21Speaker 1: my first year of sobriety. And they go. I was like,
- 6:26Speaker 1: but if I can give up alcohol, there's gonna be
- 6:30Speaker 1: no problem. She goes, have you ever given up heroin? Before?
- 6:34Speaker 1: I said no, I was a drinker, and she goes, well,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I know that vape is the equivalent of trying to
- 6:43Speaker 1: give up heroin. It's on that level of addiction. And
- 6:46Speaker 1: she was absolutely right. So as much as I want
- 6:48Speaker 1: to say yes, the vape helped me not pick up
- 6:51Speaker 1: a drink, an entirely different addiction that even though I
- 6:58Speaker 1: don't act different, it's so freaking bad for you and anybody.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You say, you don't act different, But if you don't
- 7:05Speaker 2: hit that thing for a day, yeah different.
- 7:08Speaker 1: If you right, you become addicted. And when you don't
- 7:11Speaker 1: have it very short fused. I get really depressed. Like
- 7:14Speaker 1: I'll be driving and be like, oh my god, I'm
- 7:18Speaker 1: just like, this is the worst day I've ever had
- 7:21Speaker 1: in my entire life.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would say, you love that tree.
- 7:29Speaker 3: You still are drinking like nine periods a day.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I wish I was drinking nine periods a day.
- 7:34Speaker 3: The hell is drinking them all?
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm well, there are nine day you're over nine.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:40Speaker 2: See, I was just gonna say, but they are expensive.
- 7:43Speaker 2: My thing would be if that if that is like,
- 7:46Speaker 2: let's talk about this, get a machine, like a carbonated machine.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Actually, I love that Easton So I worked with Shark
- 7:57Speaker 1: Ninja during the time that they came out with their
- 7:59Speaker 1: Ninja Thirsty and it makes not only super crisp and
- 8:03Speaker 1: bubbly sparkling water. You can choose this setting, like if
- 8:07Speaker 1: you want high, medium or low bubbles. They make sodas
- 8:14Speaker 1: you can I love you can mix in flavors of
- 8:17Speaker 1: your soda water like that. I would say, definitely recommend
- 8:21Speaker 1: getting yeah, because to save money and it's better for
- 8:24Speaker 1: the environment, better and you.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Just it's just right in the house. It is.
- 8:29Speaker 2: That would be mine because I yeah, you really did
- 8:33Speaker 2: lay into sparkling water.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I just went dead just water. I just chug water. Yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and I've never been a sparkling water drinker. But let
- 8:43Speaker 1: me tell you. When I got sober. Yeah, at the
- 8:46Speaker 1: end of like a rough day, I take two cans
- 8:49Speaker 1: of Perrier up to my bedroom, turn on my show
- 8:51Speaker 1: I get I do like my nightly routine. When I
- 8:54Speaker 1: crack a Perrier, I am like, oh my god, this
- 8:57Speaker 1: is the best night ever.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I fell into a lot of life the ministas too,
- 9:01Speaker 2: like the mini cans, because I was like, all right,
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm drinking too much.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Mini can't. But that was my vice.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Like going out and just grabbing one of those kind
- 9:09Speaker 2: of took the edge off.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 9:11Speaker 2: It's kind of like going to the fridge and grabbing
- 9:13Speaker 2: a beer, like okay, I'll grab the pop.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It's just that I'm able to have like non alcoholic beer.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It depends on your personality. You've been sober long enough
- 9:23Speaker 1: where like you, I could do it even at the beginning.
- 9:26Speaker 3: See I couldn't.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And now you feel like I'm more honest than I can.
- 9:31Speaker 1: You're more honest in your surpride and my sopriet.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so now I can like last night, I was
- 9:36Speaker 2: playing video games after just after the game, just depress
- 9:41Speaker 2: and I was like, God, I need a beer like
- 9:44Speaker 2: cracked one little zero heine.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's not my go to. No, it's not
- 9:50Speaker 1: my go to at all. Like when I have different
- 9:52Speaker 1: drinks for when I go out or when I'm stressed,
- 9:55Speaker 1: like Perryer is, like it's been a long day, I
- 9:58Speaker 1: gotta have something that's then if I go out, it's
- 10:02Speaker 1: usually like a pineapple juice, splash of soda to heane
- 10:05Speaker 1: around the rim short glass with a lime I've started
- 10:07Speaker 1: to get.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Dina.
- 10:10Speaker 2: She ordered it for me and she's like, you're gonna
- 10:12Speaker 2: like it. I promise. It's pineapple juice with just a
- 10:15Speaker 2: like a half of a red Bull. A red Bull, though,
- 10:20Speaker 2: I will here's a sleepy guy and I just need
- 10:26Speaker 2: energy just to feel like not to be a you.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Know what in Vegas though, I'll probably take shots of
- 10:32Speaker 1: red Bull.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it's just because I get so tired and
- 10:36Speaker 2: I just need something to like lift me up and
- 10:39Speaker 2: it's a rock and a hard spot because I'm out late.
- 10:41Speaker 2: If I have the red Bull, I'm not going to
- 10:42Speaker 2: be able to sleep very well. But if I don't
- 10:44Speaker 2: have the red bull. I'm just gonna be falling asleep
- 10:46Speaker 2: in the booth with them.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yea. So pick your plays in there too.
- 10:48Speaker 3: So yeah, I like.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I like the idea of at home sparkling water saving money.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I think that's a good alternative.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I think it's It's really like I might go buy toothpicks,
- 11:02Speaker 2: not to make it about me, but for like the
- 11:04Speaker 2: handsome mouth for advice, and that's the thing, so my
- 11:07Speaker 2: hand to mouth. It's like, okay, maybe if I grab toothpicks,
- 11:10Speaker 2: the hand of mouth of hitting a vape will go away.
- 11:12Speaker 1: What is that? What is the thing that Dina bought us?
- 11:15Speaker 1: It's like it almost looks like a whistle.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And then I don't know what it's called, but we
- 11:20Speaker 2: can't find it and we'll post a picture of it.
- 11:22Speaker 3: But it's a whistle.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It looks like a whistle. You wear it around your
- 11:25Speaker 1: neck and during the time.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Of like it unscrews and it has these little.
- 11:29Speaker 1: As he hits the nape. How funny is that?
- 11:31Speaker 3: Stop talking to me?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Do time?
- 11:34Speaker 3: Do time?
- 11:35Speaker 2: But it's like unscrews and it comes with like little
- 11:39Speaker 2: flavored circular cylinders.
- 11:43Speaker 1: And you hit it.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Nothing is but you get like whatever flavor you had.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So it's like the hand of mouth. I mine flew
- 11:50Speaker 2: off the things.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I gotta look for it in the house.
- 11:52Speaker 1: By the way, though, that did help a lot.
- 11:55Speaker 2: It did also the one thing I will see more
- 11:58Speaker 2: committed guys. What I have one more thing that could
- 12:03Speaker 2: very much help you, because me and three buddies actually
- 12:08Speaker 2: started a company.
- 12:10Speaker 3: This is what I've been working on, as well as
- 12:11Speaker 3: some other things.
- 12:12Speaker 2: But it's called zuit zo t you started it. Mm hm,
- 12:20Speaker 2: I'm a part of it now. I didn't. They asked me.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I was along for the ride. They're good friends in Utah.
- 12:26Speaker 2: We were talking about it. They are we're all addicted
- 12:29Speaker 2: to the vape, trying to get off of it. So
- 12:31Speaker 2: they went into the lab they told me about it.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I was like, this is amazing. And then they were
- 12:35Speaker 2: just like, well, we would love for you to be
- 12:37Speaker 2: a part of it. And I come of it. Short,
- 12:40Speaker 2: long story short, They were like, we would really love
- 12:42Speaker 2: for you to be a part of it. So I said,
- 12:44Speaker 2: let's do it. So we've been working on this last week.
- 12:47Speaker 2: They went in and were doing flavors. I was on
- 12:49Speaker 2: the phone with them and all these things. But zoit
- 12:52Speaker 2: there's four like ingredients. Okay, we just got them in
- 12:57Speaker 2: so I won't be hitting the vape soon. But here
- 12:59Speaker 2: it is is zuit. There are four ingredients. I was
- 13:06Speaker 2: just sprinting.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Oh did you run to your house?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:08Speaker 2: I had to get them. But it's alpha GPC, el
- 13:13Speaker 2: Tyrason caffeine. Are you gonna help me read it? Because
- 13:19Speaker 2: I'm not good reading.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I don't know Easton ELI nine. Okay, and you just oh,
- 13:29Speaker 1: they're just like little little pouches. They're little pouches, but
- 13:32Speaker 1: they're not they're na.
- 13:35Speaker 3: They're all natural.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I'm going to try these. Can I take one?
- 13:39Speaker 3: Yes?
- 13:39Speaker 1: You know what we should take?
- 13:40Speaker 3: And they're on Amazon. You can buy these on Amazon.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Oh I love that you can buy the milligrams of caffeine. Yes.
- 13:49Speaker 3: So I will say sorry everybody. I was sprinting the
- 13:54Speaker 3: cardio I know for the suit.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I'm going to take a pack to I will say,
- 13:59Speaker 1: if you are listen to what I want to do.
- 14:02Speaker 1: What I was not joking. I gotta get through Vegas.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Here's the other thing I'm gonna go, and I'm gonna
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm going down how many rebuttals for what you're about
- 14:17Speaker 1: to say?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Now?
- 14:18Speaker 1: I don't want to rebuttal Eastan, I can't take it.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I have been and this is along the lines of
- 14:23Speaker 1: what she asked. Here's the thing there, there's something about
- 14:27Speaker 1: the thought of a drink that when you have a
- 14:30Speaker 1: stressful day you lost your dad young, that is traumatizing,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and there are emotions that you probably never worked through.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And sometimes I feel like those emotions you may not
- 14:42Speaker 1: be able to work through, right They're just gonna live
- 14:45Speaker 1: within you because you're never the same. Then you add
- 14:47Speaker 1: that you're a mom of three kids, you're a fucking
- 14:49Speaker 1: gangster because I have two and I'm at my fucking
- 14:53Speaker 1: wits end. I can't even think about a third right now.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It is such a hard no. On top of that,
- 15:03Speaker 1: at the end of the day, if you think I
- 15:06Speaker 1: don't go wow, a glass of wine would really be
- 15:10Speaker 1: amazing to just take the edge off. But then I
- 15:13Speaker 1: know that I am not a normal person, and I
- 15:16Speaker 1: know that a glass of wine is going to lead
- 15:18Speaker 1: to a bottle and then I'm gonna love the feeling
- 15:21Speaker 1: and I'm gonna want to, like maybe have a vodka soda,
- 15:23Speaker 1: and it all ends bad, and then tomorrow we are
- 15:27Speaker 1: in a deep, dark depression and guess what I'm gonna do.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick up another drink and we start the
- 15:31Speaker 1: cycle again. So for me, the vape kind of takes
- 15:36Speaker 1: the edge off, not kind of. It takes the edge
- 15:39Speaker 1: off with me having the two kids and just a
- 15:44Speaker 1: lot going on with work and mom guilt and trying
- 15:48Speaker 1: to make stuff happen for my life and my family.
- 15:53Speaker 1: There's a lot of pressure. And I've been seeing people
- 15:57Speaker 1: want my mom on this podcast at some point, and
- 16:01Speaker 1: without getting emotional, I'm just gonna say, since her hip surgery,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you guys, my mom is not the same person. My
- 16:09Speaker 1: mom has tremors. My mom has a really hard time walking. Yes,
- 16:17Speaker 1: the hip replacement I think was very much necessary, but
- 16:21Speaker 1: mentally I don't even think she could sit on this
- 16:24Speaker 1: podcast and carry a conversation.
- 16:27Speaker 3: No, I don't either.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Her feet, she says like there's pins and needles in them.
- 16:33Speaker 2: So like I'll be talking to her just normally and
- 16:36Speaker 2: she won't to answer. I'll be like, all right, She's like, yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 2: I's just thinking about my feet.
- 16:40Speaker 1: She's having she feels like she wants to crawl out
- 16:42Speaker 1: of her own skin. She's not sleeping. I think there's
- 16:45Speaker 1: so much going on it's either a hormone thing, it's
- 16:48Speaker 1: a thyroid thing's it's a sleep apnea thing. I don't know.
- 16:53Speaker 1: She's getting her blood drawn literally right now, and I
- 16:56Speaker 1: want to have her on the podcast at some point.
- 16:58Speaker 1: She did not have her face done, but my mom
- 17:02Speaker 1: is not go say she does look amazing. But I
- 17:06Speaker 1: am just in a state of waking up in the
- 17:10Speaker 1: middle of the night, very worried that my mom may
- 17:14Speaker 1: not come back the way she used to be.
- 17:17Speaker 3: See. I think I think she will.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I think we're I always just have to revert to
- 17:23Speaker 2: what the doctor said three months before you even back
- 17:26Speaker 2: to normal.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I know whether there's things happening that are just not normal,
- 17:30Speaker 1: and we got to figure it out. And like I said,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you guys, I don't even think she could be on
- 17:33Speaker 1: this podcast and sit through it, sit through it, carry
- 17:37Speaker 1: a conversation. I mean, she's I'm like my mom used
- 17:41Speaker 1: to crack jokes, she was a little chatty Kathy. We
- 17:43Speaker 1: went and got our hair done the other day, and
- 17:44Speaker 1: like she just sat in the chair and got her
- 17:46Speaker 1: hair done. She didn't participate in the conversation nothing, so
- 17:51Speaker 1: which is not like my mother. Back to the vape
- 18:05Speaker 1: of it all, I feel a lot of high level
- 18:08Speaker 1: pressure and stress right now, and the rest of June
- 18:12Speaker 1: is jam packed. So I just need to like take
- 18:16Speaker 1: the vape to Vegas. Then we have the reunion next week,
- 18:20Speaker 1: which I yes, and then we're done, so I'll need
- 18:24Speaker 1: it to celebrate.
- 18:25Speaker 3: There's no.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Lingerie short. Don't pick up the vape to give up
- 18:30Speaker 1: the doll. It's the fucking worst thing I ever did
- 18:33Speaker 1: in my entire life. Harry is very expensive. Look into
- 18:36Speaker 1: the ninja thirsty, and then don't forget. And it's all
- 18:39Speaker 1: about the glass too, zoo. But that's what I'm saying.
- 18:44Speaker 1: This came literally last night, so I'm excited to try this.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I know I was hitting the vape. I just threw
- 18:50Speaker 1: one in. This is the I think my next we
- 18:57Speaker 1: have to give it up together, because when I give
- 19:00Speaker 1: it up and then you still, I know, I don't
- 19:04Speaker 1: know a joint effort.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I know because I there's mornings I will say remember
- 19:08Speaker 2: when I'm like, it's over at my house that because
- 19:12Speaker 2: I'm like today I'm not hitting it, and I leave
- 19:14Speaker 2: it over and then you come in and you're like,
- 19:15Speaker 2: I'm stressed, where's the vape?
- 19:16Speaker 3: And I'm like, all right, somebody needs it, go get it.
- 19:19Speaker 1: You know what, though, when I leave the house normally
- 19:20Speaker 1: I don't take it. See I'm like the Buffalo wild
- 19:26Speaker 1: Wings with a whole bunch of friends there.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but didn't.
- 19:30Speaker 1: When you're stressed or you're going out with friends and
- 19:33Speaker 1: they're having wine and you're like, oh my god, I'm
- 19:35Speaker 1: tweaking out.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I want to know my biggest pet peeve though too,
- 19:38Speaker 2: And if you are somebody like this, maybe just become
- 19:41Speaker 2: a little more so for when you're having no and
- 19:45Speaker 2: they have a drink and you're hitting the vape and
- 19:47Speaker 2: they're like, why do you even need that?
- 19:49Speaker 3: It's like, do you not comprehend you get a drink?
- 19:53Speaker 1: I think the biggest thing though, when she said she
- 19:55Speaker 1: wants to be the girl who wrote it wants to
- 19:58Speaker 1: be one. So I think this is my advice to you.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You need to You obviously said the perier helped you.
- 20:08Speaker 1: It helped me too. If you got to spend a
- 20:11Speaker 1: little bit of money on the pariers to ensure that
- 20:14Speaker 1: you're not picking up a drink and you can remain
- 20:17Speaker 1: present for your children. To also ensure that as they
- 20:21Speaker 1: get older, they're not going to see their mom acting crazy.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Because of alcohol, Like I still act, it's almost like
- 20:31Speaker 1: investment for me. It is because I know with like,
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's not just a drink for me. Perier is something
- 20:37Speaker 1: that has quite literally helped me through like hard moments
- 20:41Speaker 1: in my life, which is I know sounds so cheesy
- 20:43Speaker 1: and corny and strange, but when I was at my
- 20:47Speaker 1: lowest point in life giving up alcohol, that had been
- 20:50Speaker 1: a part of every single big moment, happy or sad,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and then that was just gone, and I was like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I feel like my personality is also going away. When
- 21:00Speaker 1: giving up alcohol.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Getting sober, it's almost like you're.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Re you're becoming a new person.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you're reinventing who you are.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And then it's hard because you will know how you
- 21:12Speaker 2: acted and then you're thinking, well, is that a weird
- 21:15Speaker 2: Was I acting weird?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Was that drunk? Or was that me?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah? And now you're like, oh my gosh, it's just
- 21:21Speaker 1: very hard.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But I will also say investing in the Perrier, Yes,
- 21:25Speaker 2: they're expensive, but if you look at it in the
- 21:27Speaker 2: long run of yeah, just Perier, but none a thing
- 21:30Speaker 2: like that. Like I feel like you're pretty six is
- 21:33Speaker 2: I think so too. At the end of it, you
- 21:35Speaker 2: just you're more aware because you're sober buying the water
- 21:38Speaker 2: and you're not just taking shots, going yeah, I'll take
- 21:41Speaker 2: another fifteen dollars shot, fifteen dollars drink.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It's like, at the end of the day, you're drunk
- 21:45Speaker 1: and you're not.
- 21:45Speaker 2: You're just missing how much all of this is until
- 21:48Speaker 2: you wake up the press thinking why did I spend
- 21:50Speaker 2: that much?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Exactly? That's exactly.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So I feel like the yes, it's expensive, but I
- 21:55Speaker 2: don't think we were aware of how expensive liquor was.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Mentally, Oh, I'm aware now when I go out the
- 22:00Speaker 1: group of people and we split the bill and I'm like,
- 22:02Speaker 1: there's one hundred dollars worth of alcohol on here. I'm
- 22:06Speaker 1: not a stingy motherfucker, but I'm sober, and I don't
- 22:08Speaker 1: feel like I should be contributing to.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Your shout out Janet.
- 22:13Speaker 1: No, by the way, shout out to. Most of my
- 22:16Speaker 1: friends are very only.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I only go out usually most of the time with
- 22:22Speaker 2: like Janet and them, so like Janet is always like
- 22:24Speaker 2: I'm covering you.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Like when we split a check, it's like, hey, lot,
- 22:28Speaker 1: don't worry about tip, and I've got your valet whatever
- 22:30Speaker 1: it may be. Or they split they're very Yes, I
- 22:36Speaker 1: can't believe these guys are spending this matra on. I mean,
- 22:39Speaker 1: they had a good time, and they're also not like me.
- 22:42Speaker 1: It's not like every night they go out. It's not
- 22:44Speaker 1: you know, I know it does sound funny. A lot
- 22:49Speaker 1: of friends of mine are like, I had two glasses
- 22:51Speaker 1: of wine last night. I am wrecked here. I just
- 22:53Speaker 1: cannot hang my doors. I'm like, I can't even imagine
- 22:57Speaker 1: because I stayed out until two am, and I was
- 23:00Speaker 1: wrecked for three days and all I had was some
- 23:03Speaker 1: diet cokes.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah, no staying out past like one or two. You
- 23:09Speaker 2: just got to hang over no matter what.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I wake up and I'm like, I just got hit
- 23:14Speaker 3: by a fucking truck.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I also think what kind of glass you put it
- 23:18Speaker 1: in for a while. I'm past this point now and
- 23:20Speaker 1: I just drink it straight out of the can. But
- 23:23Speaker 1: depending on my mood, it would be like, oh, I'm
- 23:25Speaker 1: going to do like a sparkling water with a splash
- 23:28Speaker 1: of this in a champagne glass and put like a
- 23:30Speaker 1: raspberry in it. Or I'm going to have a short
- 23:33Speaker 1: glass with eyes to make it feel like I'm drinking
- 23:35Speaker 1: a Vodkas.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I do that with Martin Ellie's.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yes, Love Love Martin.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Martin Ellie's in like a almost like a cocktail glass
- 23:41Speaker 2: like people would pour Scotch in and I just put
- 23:43Speaker 2: like a cuban there and Martin Ellie's, God damn might
- 23:47Speaker 2: do it today.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I know, And for some reason it just slapped.
- 23:50Speaker 3: It's so crasp.
- 24:02Speaker 1: My biggest thing now is when I go out to
- 24:04Speaker 1: the pool, I grab the kids like little cups that
- 24:07Speaker 1: don't spill. They have they have a straws, but you
- 24:10Speaker 1: can do that and they don't spill. And I'm addicted
- 24:13Speaker 1: to taking one of those out to the pool with
- 24:15Speaker 1: like a diet doctor pepper and a little cream in it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I think you're kind of a nut.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I know I'm a nut.
- 24:20Speaker 3: It's spilt all over by the way, got to cover
- 24:23Speaker 3: the cap.
- 24:24Speaker 1: No, I will say this as well before we sign off.
- 24:26Speaker 1: There's not one person on the planet who once said, like,
- 24:29Speaker 1: my life got so good once I started slamming drinks.
- 24:33Speaker 1: But everyone you talk to who get a haul says
- 24:36Speaker 1: this was the best decision I ever made.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I know what.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Even Bradley Cooper, they were like, what's the most Like,
- 24:41Speaker 2: what's the what's the best thing that you've ever done
- 24:45Speaker 2: in your whole life. And you said get sober and
- 24:47Speaker 2: they were like really, and he goes, yeah, it's unreal
- 24:49Speaker 2: that I can be a part of a conversation and
- 24:52Speaker 2: I can take in what you're saying and honestly be
- 24:56Speaker 2: a person that can answer you honestly and feel what
- 24:59Speaker 2: you're going through it and not be a shield.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I was like, wow, Well, that's the other thing that's
- 25:03Speaker 1: hard when I go out with people is people who
- 25:08Speaker 1: I don't know. Right just meeting, I have a wallup
- 25:12Speaker 1: because I'm sober and I don't know you what you're
- 25:16Speaker 1: saying to me, and like just the way you're acting.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I know tomorrow, because I've been there, you're going to
- 25:24Speaker 1: be like, who is that random girl that I was
- 25:26Speaker 1: talking to? Why did I get her phone number? I'm
- 25:29Speaker 1: never going to call this person, Like I know. There's
- 25:33Speaker 1: just there's a lack of genuine connection. How many whether it's.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Did you make plans with You're like, we should all
- 25:41Speaker 2: get brunched tomorrow.
- 25:43Speaker 1: No, I was always I was always that brunch Are
- 25:46Speaker 1: you crazy?
- 25:47Speaker 3: No? But you make the plans with the weird random people.
- 25:49Speaker 1: That they're drinking, and I'm You're a drinker, I guess,
- 25:52Speaker 1: and I'm a drinker. Let's fucking again, saw them have
- 25:56Speaker 1: a couple drinks. The amount of friendships that were done
- 26:00Speaker 1: so after I was done, there are people that will
- 26:02Speaker 1: roll up on me and be like, yeah, we used
- 26:03Speaker 1: to hang out back in the day, and I'm like,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I don't know your name, I don't recognize your face.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I have no fucking idea who you are. They would
- 26:10Speaker 1: show me pictures of us all together and I would
- 26:12Speaker 1: pretend like I knew who they were. But I'm like
- 26:15Speaker 1: the amount of just stuff that I would allow into
- 26:19Speaker 1: my world in a stupor. But here's the thing. Alcohol
- 26:23Speaker 1: gets rid of genuine connection, whether it's with people that
- 26:26Speaker 1: you've just met, you don't even know if you're genuinely
- 26:29Speaker 1: connecting with them or like them. But it also takes
- 26:32Speaker 1: away the connection between you, your family members, your children.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Like giving up alcohol was the best decision I ever
- 26:40Speaker 1: made in my life. Was it the hardest thing that
- 26:43Speaker 1: I've ever done? Yes, But I know what's on the
- 26:46Speaker 1: other side of a drink, and I'm sorry, it just
- 26:49Speaker 1: doesn't sound fun. And every single thing that I've built,
- 26:53Speaker 1: friendships that I've maintained and loved and incubated my relationship
- 26:58Speaker 1: with my kids. I mean, just my schedule alone right
- 27:04Speaker 1: now is going to take me away from them. I
- 27:08Speaker 1: can't have a drink take me away from them. That
- 27:12Speaker 1: I draw the line. At least when work takes me
- 27:14Speaker 1: away from my kids.
- 27:15Speaker 3: You're getting paid.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I'm here, and this is how I
- 27:19Speaker 1: support my family and my lifestyle, which a lot of
- 27:22Speaker 1: people can I tell you, not a lot. You said
- 27:26Speaker 1: you saw good comments.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I saw good comments, but like, yeah, the ones that
- 27:29Speaker 2: are like you need to take a work off. It's like, sweetheart,
- 27:31Speaker 2: this isn't a nine to five. I don't have like
- 27:34Speaker 2: the hr U too, I don't have PTO like when
- 27:39Speaker 2: I tell you I worked in nine to five desk job, cubicle,
- 27:44Speaker 2: amazing women, amazing guys like I see it. But yes,
- 27:48Speaker 2: I could look and go, hey, I'm going to my
- 27:52Speaker 2: niece's graduation. I may be gone for two and a
- 27:55Speaker 2: half hours, but I'll come back and then I make
- 27:58Speaker 2: up that time and come in a little earlier.
- 28:00Speaker 3: We have all those things. I'm sorry.
- 28:03Speaker 2: This person right here is on a schedule and getting
- 28:07Speaker 2: filmed for the entertainment of us, so she has to
- 28:11Speaker 2: be She can't go. Oh, I'm sorry, let's take know
- 28:14Speaker 2: that film crew of twenty five people. Can we reschedule
- 28:19Speaker 2: them for the one day because I couldn't come because.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I have to go and do this like which?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Bye. I know that we all wish that you could. Yes,
- 28:26Speaker 1: you wish you could.
- 28:27Speaker 2: There's too many things in place that one person missing
- 28:31Speaker 2: throws it all off.
- 28:32Speaker 1: It isn't a nine to five.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So if you don't think that my sister wouldn't be
- 28:36Speaker 2: taking off work to go see her daughter graduating, you're
- 28:40Speaker 2: all fucking up in the night. It's a different job
- 28:43Speaker 2: that y'all do not know about. So what you do
- 28:46Speaker 2: not know about, do not speak about.
- 28:49Speaker 1: The biggest problem I have is it was mostly women
- 28:51Speaker 1: who that were slamming me in the comment section. Bottom
- 28:55Speaker 1: line is when I talk about things like this on
- 28:59Speaker 1: the podcast, this is not for anybody to listen to
- 29:04Speaker 1: or watch a clip of and think that I'm asking
- 29:07Speaker 1: for a pity party. I am well aware of how
- 29:10Speaker 1: this world works. I am opening a conversation so that
- 29:15Speaker 1: hopefully there's a mom who's listening or sees that clip
- 29:19Speaker 1: that goes, wow, I too have to work that day
- 29:21Speaker 1: and can't make my daughter's graduation or my son's graduation.
- 29:24Speaker 1: He goes, I feel less alone, I feel seen, And
- 29:28Speaker 1: that is the point is opening up the conversation. I
- 29:30Speaker 1: don't need pity from anybody. I have a wonderful, beautiful life.
- 29:34Speaker 3: And to the people who can make it instead of saying.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Terrible mother, look in the marry and go as to me,
- 29:39Speaker 2: O blessed that I get to go see my daughter,
- 29:42Speaker 2: because there's and.
- 29:42Speaker 1: There were a lot of those moms who don't. There
- 29:44Speaker 1: were a lot of those, and I appreciate them.
- 29:46Speaker 2: There's good comments and I don't want those to go on.
- 29:49Speaker 2: There are amazing people, and I want to think all
- 29:51Speaker 2: those times.
- 29:52Speaker 1: They're actually the reason why I didn't fucking start to spiral.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Oh thank god.
- 29:56Speaker 1: The ones that were mean where it's like, aren't you
- 29:59Speaker 1: self employed? We all have a body self employed, little
- 30:03Speaker 1: old me. I'm dealing with a giant fucking network. I
- 30:08Speaker 1: have no say. I told them that's the day of
- 30:12Speaker 1: my daughter's graduation. The response was almost no.
- 30:17Speaker 2: No.
- 30:17Speaker 1: They are very very sympathetic and empathetic. And here's why.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Because we have incredible people, hundreds hundreds of people that
- 30:26Speaker 1: are working on this show called The Valley Camera men,
- 30:29Speaker 1: sound guys, camera women, sound women, production editors, you name it,
- 30:36Speaker 1: we have it. And guess what those people also have
- 30:39Speaker 1: to miss graduations, they have to miss trick or treating
- 30:43Speaker 1: with their kids. We're all fucking in it, Okay. So
- 30:47Speaker 1: for anyone to say that that I could get out
- 30:50Speaker 1: of it, I know I can't because if I could,
- 30:56Speaker 1: I would. It's just acidnind that other mothers would try
- 31:01Speaker 1: to shame me instead of uplift me, when the whole
- 31:04Speaker 1: reason I'm sharing it is to make other people feel
- 31:08Speaker 1: less alone. Yeah and that, yeah, that was shocked.
- 31:14Speaker 2: So many people behind the cameras that also have very
- 31:17Speaker 2: complex lives that are missing their complex life due to
- 31:22Speaker 2: work because they couldn't take it off.
- 31:24Speaker 1: No, I will say this, I feel like anybody who
- 31:28Speaker 1: was coming for me in the comments section, it's because
- 31:30Speaker 1: they don't have people around them telling them that they're
- 31:33Speaker 1: doing a great job. So this is me right now.
- 31:36Speaker 1: To any of the moms who decided to take the
- 31:40Speaker 1: video of me crying about missing my daughter's graduation due
- 31:43Speaker 1: to work, and instead of uplifting me, decided to slam
- 31:47Speaker 1: me and question me, this is me letting you know,
- 31:50Speaker 1: put your guard down. You are seen. You're fucking crushing it.
- 31:54Speaker 1: You are loved And in the words of Kanye West,
- 31:58Speaker 1: not sure if we like him still or not, but
- 32:00Speaker 1: his old school song before he went crazy single mothers,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you know you have my heart. On that note, it
- 32:08Speaker 1: was supposed to be about one thing, but we went
- 32:10Speaker 1: on a tangent tangent tangent.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yes, back to the point. I am sorry that he
- 32:18Speaker 2: lost her husband. Lose her husband, she lost her age,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and for that, I will say Perry.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Perry solves everything, and don't pick up the vape. It'll
- 32:31Speaker 1: be the.
- 32:33Speaker 2: We do not pick up the vape because that me
- 32:37Speaker 2: picking up the VP has taken me on to, like
- 32:39Speaker 2: I said, do things like this because I can't get
- 32:42Speaker 2: off of it.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So we create him putting one of those in my
- 32:45Speaker 1: carry on by the way, here take it.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Take one now, brand.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Because you know what I'll do is I'll make sure
- 32:50Speaker 1: that I do this and then when I go up
- 32:52Speaker 1: to the rooftop for the opening, then I'll have my vape.
- 32:56Speaker 1: But then the rest of the time, and that's the
- 32:57Speaker 1: one thing I'm okay.
- 32:58Speaker 2: If I can like put the vain, if your tail
- 33:01Speaker 2: a babe like ten times a day will be you
- 33:04Speaker 2: want to be.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Instead of enormy when it comes to drinking. You want
- 33:07Speaker 1: to be a normy me first.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, like I'll go out and hit the VeVe, But
- 33:10Speaker 2: like I said, the zuit el thanine, el tyrosine, alpha GPC,
- 33:17Speaker 2: no nicotine, and fifty grams of nice old caffeine so
- 33:27Speaker 2: all natural. Try it out if you're connected, if you're
- 33:30Speaker 2: addicted to the vibe.
- 33:31Speaker 1: So yeah, I love it all right you guys, thank
- 33:33Speaker 1: you for listening to another bonus episode of Untraditionally La La.
- 33:36Speaker 1: We'll catch you on Wednesday for a regular old episode
