- 0:49Speaker 1: We got the building, Yes, boiler, big kfk.
- 0:52Speaker 5: It's a little big in the building.
- 0:53Speaker 6: Hold on, a.
- 0:54Speaker 7: Little big as a fucking oxymoron.
- 0:57Speaker 1: That's the reason I made my name is.
- 0:59Speaker 7: Tell me about it all right.
- 1:02Speaker 1: It's really simple. I was fat when I was a
- 1:04Speaker 1: kid nickname?
- 1:05Speaker 7: Are you on the oh the shot? You just lost
- 1:10Speaker 7: it like a real nigga.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Black people don't use that.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But my name is Big when I was a kid,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and I got skinny when I graduated, when I came going,
- 1:20Speaker 1: So I just made my name a little big.
- 1:22Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:22Speaker 5: That's why.
- 1:24Speaker 4: So was it like being healthy or did you get
- 1:26Speaker 4: into sports? What made you lose the weight? You want
- 1:29Speaker 4: to be a rapper? You said I need some bitches
- 1:31Speaker 4: so I can't be fat.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And I already had bitches before I got skinny. I
- 1:34Speaker 1: ain't never need Now.
- 1:35Speaker 5: First of all, how did you get the chain?
- 1:36Speaker 3: How did you Yeah, you're not gonna tell the viewers
- 1:42Speaker 3: the interview with.
- 1:43Speaker 1: The chain we had down right? Yeah?
- 1:48Speaker 7: Yeah? And I got the other one?
- 1:50Speaker 5: Now is that is that?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Is that your label? Yeah? This is actually gratificating this. Uh,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's something I started from my birthday passed away. It's
- 1:59Speaker 1: an profit foundation though on paperwork.
- 2:02Speaker 7: That's why I got a change because I love nonprofit.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And it's just like but the name of my record
- 2:08Speaker 1: label is Feel Entertainment. All started my own record label
- 2:11Speaker 1: when I was like twenty one. I got a joint
- 2:14Speaker 1: venture like a joint venture deal with Alamo Records of course,
- 2:19Speaker 1: where you get.
- 2:19Speaker 6: The money to start your own record label at twenty one.
- 2:23Speaker 7: Oh, I know that I will not ask any further questions.
- 2:27Speaker 5: So you have a partnership deal.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yeah, joint venture Alamo Records and Foundation Media. It's I
- 2:32Speaker 1: gotta So when I started rapping, I started all my
- 2:36Speaker 1: artists off with like distribution deals. So that's where the
- 2:40Speaker 1: Foundation Media side comes in. It's basically a distribution company
- 2:44Speaker 1: for Alamo Records. Every record label got a distribution company.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I got a great relationship with Lee, the owner Foundation,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and he invested into my career. First, I took my
- 2:54Speaker 1: money from where I got off my distribution career and
- 2:57Speaker 1: invested it into the label. And then basically we did
- 3:02Speaker 1: real good my artists or L five, My first artist
- 3:04Speaker 1: was a little perk. He blew up. He got arrested
- 3:08Speaker 1: in New York. Actually we were up in New York
- 3:11Speaker 1: negotiating a new contract. He got picked up for something
- 3:14Speaker 1: that happened in Atlanta. And then my second biggest artist
- 3:17Speaker 1: was L five. He came home from prison, I mean
- 3:20Speaker 1: from jail. He was in jail for like a year
- 3:22Speaker 1: and a half. He came home and he was on
- 3:25Speaker 1: house arrest. I paid for the studio to go to
- 3:27Speaker 1: his house. He recorded probably like four album with for
- 3:31Speaker 1: music within a six month span, but his music accumulated
- 3:36Speaker 1: probably like forty million screens within them six months, so wow.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But he ended up getting arrested too. Before we could
- 3:42Speaker 1: sign his biggest contract. I only got him a distribution deal.
- 3:45Speaker 1: His distribution deal with like four hundred thousand. We had
- 3:48Speaker 1: an offer on the table for like one point eight
- 3:50Speaker 1: million for the rec label in the because I was
- 3:52Speaker 1: gonna give him half for the label since he really
- 3:55Speaker 1: helped me do it right, But I ain't ain't explaining
- 3:58Speaker 1: it enough because he's actually my little who passed away
- 4:00Speaker 1: with friend, like real close friend, Like he slept on
- 4:02Speaker 1: my mama floor. It was like real, my family for
- 4:04Speaker 1: real real. So I was gonna let him get half
- 4:07Speaker 1: of the label and own it with me. But before
- 4:09Speaker 1: we could sign the contract, he went to jail too.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So when he went to jail, he just really believed
- 4:14Speaker 1: in me, and like he saw me do it twice.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You see me, He just like i'ma just still investing
- 4:19Speaker 1: me to you. Ain't gonna give you the whole eight
- 4:20Speaker 1: hundred thousand gig before he's gonna give you four or
- 4:23Speaker 1: just turned them to something. So now I gotta got
- 4:25Speaker 1: a couple more artists or Little Deco Little Cheers was
- 4:28Speaker 1: my rope or my last two. They kind of completed
- 4:30Speaker 1: the contract. I got a new artist, his name Little Corey,
- 4:34Speaker 1: Uh the Peanut two player them the main two on
- 4:37Speaker 1: the label. Right now, I'm trying to sign somebody name,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh murder pole Baby, y'all gonna.
- 4:41Speaker 7: Learn about him, y'all loaded over.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And I got another artist, his name Little Boss, Little
- 4:45Speaker 1: one Boss from my neighborhood, somebody I grew up for real.
- 4:49Speaker 7: I was gonna ask you that, how are you finding
- 4:51Speaker 7: these artists?
- 4:52Speaker 1: All my artists really, except for my pole Baby probably
- 4:55Speaker 1: the first one that I met, but I still met
- 4:56Speaker 1: him through one of my little brothers there went to prison.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He's in prison. When he was dropping me.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Is this a jail label you got going on?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Just something from the trenches?
- 5:05Speaker 5: Are you're giving people opportunities?
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah? Literally, And I'm teaching them the business side of
- 5:09Speaker 1: not just like doing it for the better man of myself.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Like I could have sucked them all over because they
- 5:13Speaker 1: don't know nothing about but instead I just helped them
- 5:17Speaker 1: and talk to them about owning their masters and all that,
- 5:19Speaker 1: just you know, taking less money and believing in yourself
- 5:22Speaker 1: and working hard instead of trying to get the big
- 5:24Speaker 1: bag because the big bag d in the bigger hole?
- 5:29Speaker 5: Who taught you?
- 5:30Speaker 4: I was literally going to ask, did you teach a
- 5:32Speaker 4: class at Harvard on record labels?
- 5:34Speaker 1: And I studied? I just stated the game when I
- 5:38Speaker 1: was a kid. I ain't never been a dummy, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but I studied the game. But my God, under truth
- 5:43Speaker 1: though my dad owned the record label y'all. Y'all ever
- 5:51Speaker 1: heard of a song called make your own that song?
- 5:56Speaker 1: And recordabe boys? So he's record label at he was
- 6:00Speaker 1: based in the neighborhood. Well, my record label started on Ashbury.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Fear me that Texico as was an Amico So he
- 6:07Speaker 1: had a label. And he went to prison too when
- 6:10Speaker 1: I was a kid, you feel me, And he kind
- 6:12Speaker 1: of lost He left everything with his wife and she
- 6:14Speaker 1: kind of lost whatever whatever the case made me know
- 6:18Speaker 1: the story, but he lost it. His his lawyer was
- 6:22Speaker 1: some guy named Vince Phillips, which is my uncle, is
- 6:24Speaker 1: like a close family friend. You fear me. Vince Philis
- 6:27Speaker 1: is like a legend and the music.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Industry, I think I think we probably know the same vents.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, your Vince's a little baby entertainment.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Yeah, y'all know Vince.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, NBA young boy right away. You know, he
- 6:37Speaker 1: worked with a lot of people. So that's honestly why
- 6:41Speaker 1: I learned and got such a great hand because instead
- 6:44Speaker 1: of Pops getting out and asking Vince for the money
- 6:47Speaker 1: for his songs and stuff, he just talked like, hey, man,
- 6:49Speaker 1: just help my son blow up. I don't want a dollar.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I just I win if you help him. So he
- 6:54Speaker 1: taught me the game and taught me to end and
- 6:56Speaker 1: out and how to really work my move instead of
- 6:59Speaker 1: just you know, rapping and not knowing the game. So
- 7:03Speaker 1: having Vince on my side, just even talking to the
- 7:06Speaker 1: label with Vince next to me is like, give me
- 7:08Speaker 1: a thirty thirty step ahead starting other artists, Like he's
- 7:12Speaker 1: thirty years in the game. He worked with Little John,
- 7:16Speaker 1: he helped them.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Oh yeah, we definitely gonna say Vince.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Legend, Yeah I got a cheat. Hold I ain't. I
- 7:23Speaker 1: ain't gonna sit here and just make it seem like
- 7:24Speaker 1: I was a blessed blessing.
- 7:26Speaker 6: I look that though you.
- 7:27Speaker 7: Should be on a generational line.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I think more black people should be able to have
- 7:31Speaker 4: nepotism and things like that, like, oh yeah, take.
- 7:33Speaker 7: What your parents learn and apply this ship and run
- 7:35Speaker 7: with it.
- 7:36Speaker 4: But I'm not gonna hold you. You telling you everybody
- 7:38Speaker 4: got locked up?
- 7:39Speaker 7: Where are you from?
- 7:40Speaker 1: I'm from I'm really from Campton Road originally, but I
- 7:42Speaker 1: kind of like grew up in the ash MLK area.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But Road, I'm from the real west.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Side high school you went tom oh, he said, the.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Whole high school.
- 7:55Speaker 5: And he said, the real west Side? What is the
- 7:57Speaker 5: fake west Side?
- 7:59Speaker 1: You know the rest of anything that I ain't saying. Yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 1: Bankhead m l K. If you ain't from the Swats,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you ain't from the West. I hate to break it
- 8:05Speaker 1: to everybody. That's what it is to Swats.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I don't know if the other people know that, because
- 8:10Speaker 4: the other people definitely think they from the West.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That's them they lost in the sauce. They ain't from
- 8:14Speaker 1: the Ways. I hate to break it to you.
- 8:16Speaker 4: All right now, I got real questions now that I
- 8:18Speaker 4: know you from Atlanta, we gotta address some ship. That's
- 8:21Speaker 4: because the streets is wild right now.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You want to you're talking about about the Atlanta streets?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Are you talking about the industry.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Well, it's kind of hot up right now. So I'm
- 8:31Speaker 4: gonna go with queen.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You can ask me whatever I'm calling I see it.
- 8:35Speaker 7: Oh you better, I know.
- 8:37Speaker 4: That's so what's put wrong for? How he getting out
- 8:42Speaker 4: his contract with Bucci Man? Hm, I feel like, just
- 8:48Speaker 4: don't start it now speaking.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna speak. I'm gonna be one hundred percent like ship.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It was an idiot move. He's a real street nigga.
- 8:56Speaker 1: That's what he chose to do. But if we're gonna
- 8:58Speaker 1: call out the wrong in the situation, Gucci Man the
- 9:00Speaker 1: wrong when he did all this rapping about all this
- 9:02Speaker 1: gangster ship and then now he snitched, and he rapping
- 9:07Speaker 1: about snitching. So he spread into the younger generation to
- 9:10Speaker 1: tell onm for like people like me who grew up
- 9:12Speaker 1: without our parents. Because the sneitches me, he influenced it
- 9:17Speaker 1: back into the generation. Instead, it should be don't do
- 9:20Speaker 1: nothing you don't want to, you don't want to, you know,
- 9:22Speaker 1: don't get in his life. All the people Gucci Man
- 9:24Speaker 1: robbed in his past, and he fucking told like you
- 9:27Speaker 1: was a boso.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Bang my point, I'm with you with that.
- 9:31Speaker 4: When I argue with this, everybody was like well, Gucci's
- 9:33Speaker 4: not the streets no more.
- 9:34Speaker 7: That so hard to fucking towel. Did you listen?
- 9:36Speaker 4: And I listened to his last album, pulled up the
- 9:38Speaker 4: lyrics and said, well, this sounds like a gangster to me,
- 9:41Speaker 4: and like maybe if he would have denounced, like yo
- 9:43Speaker 4: on my.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Streeting, you would have never ever joined his life. It'll
- 9:49Speaker 1: be cool if he was a businessman all this time.
- 9:51Speaker 1: That's one hundred percent. This is one of the owners
- 9:54Speaker 1: of the record labels for real, on these people who
- 9:56Speaker 1: never grew up in the streets. Yeah, they're gonna tell
- 9:58Speaker 1: you every right to She was just smoking pooky loko
- 10:01Speaker 1: on the stage and all this ship fat ain't snitch
- 10:05Speaker 1: on the nigga.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Now, how do y'all feel about with with people saying
- 10:11Speaker 3: on the internet but he has a wife?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yes for me please, that's where you gotta be a
- 10:19Speaker 1: real gangst and understand the internet is the internet, the
- 10:22Speaker 1: streets is the streets. The boat both don't mix. If
- 10:24Speaker 1: any gangs to go to the internet and look for
- 10:27Speaker 1: it in himself, like to see how anything matter about
- 10:31Speaker 1: him from the Internet perspective, he know, gainst for real,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you just thinking you just suck as man. I wouldn't
- 10:37Speaker 1: give a rats as what nobody got to say about
- 10:39Speaker 1: me on the internet. I know for a fact now
- 10:40Speaker 1: nigga want walk up on me and call me nothing?
- 10:43Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, so hey, and if they do,
- 10:45Speaker 1: it wouldn't be safe for god they so rest peace.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Because we all know you got it on you a
- 10:49Speaker 4: little big for president because it ain't safe out here.
- 10:54Speaker 4: But like realistically, and.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Tell that to the kids too. I ain't an idiot.
- 10:59Speaker 1: All my guns, my name old enough, Yeah, do it
- 11:02Speaker 1: the right way.
- 11:04Speaker 7: That is very important.
- 11:05Speaker 4: And little kids straight up and down that they need
- 11:09Speaker 4: to do it the right way.
- 11:09Speaker 7: Look into that camera right there and tell.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Them all kids, man, just be yourself. That's the number
- 11:14Speaker 1: one rule. Be yourself. Don't try to grow up and
- 11:16Speaker 1: live too fast. Being grown ain't fun. And paying bills
- 11:20Speaker 1: since I was nineteen, I ain't got a break, so hey, man,
- 11:23Speaker 1: just a kid, enjoy being a kid. Man bills is
- 11:26Speaker 1: not what you want to do. That's all I can say. Now,
- 11:28Speaker 1: what record are we pushing right now? I'm me personally.
- 11:33Speaker 1: My favorite record on my new album is Elbow. That's
- 11:35Speaker 1: my favorite one. But I feel like according to statistics,
- 11:41Speaker 1: it'll be probably the song with Baby Drill or another
- 11:46Speaker 1: song called Melatna Medlatna got the most views. Thoughts to
- 11:50Speaker 1: myself featuredntro that got the sicken amount, And then.
- 11:55Speaker 6: I thought was a farmer raising dogs?
- 11:57Speaker 7: Now I thought you.
- 12:05Speaker 5: Might don't think.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I don't think any rapper that says they retired really retired.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I think it's like a break. It's like when it's
- 12:13Speaker 3: like like I need I need a break. So let
- 12:16Speaker 3: me just tell people retired so they don't talk about
- 12:18Speaker 3: music when.
- 12:19Speaker 4: So, what's your vision for your career because you're pretty
- 12:21Speaker 4: early in this.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I want to be a CEO like that. That's me.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'm the CEO and b I don't want to be
- 12:26Speaker 1: just no rapper. It's all about being a boss. That's
- 12:29Speaker 1: my whole thing. I'm starting. I actually already started a
- 12:32Speaker 1: new record label. It's going to be strictly my artist
- 12:36Speaker 1: that's in prison, Like I don't want them to give
- 12:38Speaker 1: up their career. They got band loud now and a
- 12:41Speaker 1: lot of artists is making hits while they down. What
- 12:45Speaker 1: is band lad It's like really like a way for
- 12:48Speaker 1: you to record yourself and mix your music on the phone.
- 12:53Speaker 1: The generation of music now really to be honest, you
- 12:56Speaker 1: have to You have to invest zero dollars to be
- 12:58Speaker 1: an artist. Now like you can make your whole I'm
- 13:00Speaker 1: on your phone and then really any money you spend
- 13:03Speaker 1: can go into marketing. You feel what I'm saying, and
- 13:05Speaker 1: then just record.
- 13:06Speaker 7: When you marketing.
- 13:07Speaker 4: A lot of artists don't even think about marketing as
- 13:10Speaker 4: a part of its Instagram.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And everything I got, like right now, my label total
- 13:16Speaker 1: is probably like one hundred and seventy five million streams total,
- 13:19Speaker 1: like all platforms together. And this is my first time
- 13:22Speaker 1: ever having a marketing budget with I never ever invented
- 13:27Speaker 1: into a marketing budget before. And this is the first
- 13:30Speaker 1: time I ever dropped the album and they did one
- 13:32Speaker 1: hundred thousand views on the first day, so amazing. Fear me,
- 13:35Speaker 1: that's that's really what's been holding me back as me,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I never took the marketing side of things. Here is
- 13:42Speaker 1: it ain't about how good your music is. It's people
- 13:44Speaker 1: that make way better music than me that got less views.
- 13:47Speaker 1: It's just I probably had a better marketing scheme because honestly,
- 13:51Speaker 1: being real with me, my saving grace was my Littlerota
- 13:53Speaker 1: and my little Berta. He was fourteen, but he was
- 13:55Speaker 1: like famous almost when he was a kid already. So
- 13:59Speaker 1: that was big marketing me because I had a whole
- 14:01Speaker 1: generation of kids that looked up to me, vin me
- 14:03Speaker 1: just off of me rapping about my brother.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Pains and you made that work for yourself. You just
- 14:08Speaker 4: didn't live in that pain.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I had to because he's like make something out of it, honestly,
- 14:12Speaker 1: being really, my brother was the angel child. He was
- 14:15Speaker 1: a good kid. You know, he ain't do nothing wrong
- 14:17Speaker 1: for he just got caught up trying to be like
- 14:20Speaker 1: his big.
- 14:20Speaker 6: Brother was the big brother.
- 14:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a terrible influence. I hate it, but
- 14:26Speaker 1: his life and that's the story that I had to
- 14:28Speaker 1: live to get one Now I understand that now, like
- 14:32Speaker 1: my brother had to die for me to take care
- 14:34Speaker 1: of our family.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I mean, that's hard for you to live in at
- 14:37Speaker 4: the moment, but everything happens for a reason, and I
- 14:39Speaker 4: think that you turning that pain into a story and
- 14:42Speaker 4: making it to something with the next generation can actually
- 14:45Speaker 4: benefit off it.
- 14:46Speaker 1: And to save them. I saved a lot of his
- 14:48Speaker 1: friends from you know. But that's the that's the kind
- 14:51Speaker 1: of like the the purpose of my album name Piece
- 14:55Speaker 1: and Pain. You know, I had to find peace within
- 14:58Speaker 1: my pain literally.
- 14:59Speaker 7: Like I I agree.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Do you feel like that all of it was worth it?
- 15:04Speaker 4: Do you feel like you're on the right track?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Well, I mean for me, it wasn't worth because my
- 15:09Speaker 1: little brother life. I traade everything back. I don't give
- 15:11Speaker 1: it down to our work and MacDonald's for real, just
- 15:13Speaker 1: to have my little brother, to go home and see
- 15:15Speaker 1: my little brother. But when it comes down to the
- 15:19Speaker 1: aspect of trusting God and actually having faith in them
- 15:22Speaker 1: the Lord, you can't really say, oh I wish this,
