- 0:36Kevin's would you rather which he.
- 0:37Never does. I have never peaked and I never
- 0:38will and I never. Would before I've caught you in
- 0:41the act and hopefully just didn't peak this week because I
- 0:45think would you rathers today are pretty spicy, so I'm looking
- 0:48forward to getting to. Those I'm not gonna stand for
- 0:50this slander. I've literally never peaked.
- 0:53Don't you put this evil on me, Ricky Bobby.
- 0:55I've actually seen you make efforts not to peak.
- 0:57So do you think is the only peeker here?
- 0:59And Josh, you, your, your reputation has been revamped,
- 1:03redemptive. Thank you.
- 1:04Redemption. Exactly.
- 1:07No, it's been reducted. The bigger management will
- 1:10popularity Profaci redacted. Gonna have to come out of the

- 2:27Almost at 200. 20. Zero.
- 2:29Wow. So.
- 2:30You don't have to hit 200. Jake is shaking that booty, no?
- 2:37Now your resident booty shake. I don't know if we should edit
- 2:40this out or not but I will tell a story that Kevin and I are
- 2:43about the same height. So one time we went back-to-back
- 2:46and I swear to God, he Nicki Minaj me into another dimension.
- 2:52That's gotta stay in. I had no idea he had such a
- 2:55badonk Little that. Until I'm very, I played soccer
- 2:58my whole life. So I got I got the the booty and
- 3:01the legs have been have been developed.
- 3:06To develop to the point that it was, it was unfair and I ended
- 3:09up like slanted back with our. Our feel a bit left out that
- 3:12wasn't invited to this this butt to butt hanging.
- 3:16Together we could do it. We'll just another triangle and
- 3:19all send back-to-back. OK, perfect.
- 3:21Sounds good? OK, let's dive into our news and
- 3:26tidbits. Let's do it.
- 3:28So Mikael Granlund of the Anaheim Ducks returned from
- 3:32injury and is starting on line 4 powerfully, too, but he did have
- 3:35some shifts on power. Play one in the last game.
- 3:38How interested are you guys in owning Grandland in any league?
- 3:42I mean, I'm not really interested in Greenland.
- 3:44I will say though, that he's one of the people, one of the
- 3:47players that we get to one of the most questions about in the
- 3:50discord. I feel like every time he's hurt
- 3:51and he's about to come back, people are like, oh wait, do I
- 3:53drop like actually good player for Grantland?
- 3:56And I'm like, I probably wouldn't to be honest.
- 3:59Like if he was in the top 6 and power play one, I'd obviously be
- 4:02interested, but I don't think he cracks that power play one
- 4:05unless they're desperate for a guy to win face offs or the top
- 4:096 is also tough like if they're pretty healthy.
- 4:11So I'm not super interested in if you're in a deep league,
- 4:14obviously is worth a worth a look because he has the good
- 4:16positional eligibility and he's we'll get your face off.
- 4:18But with this deployment line for P2 is not even crossing my
- 4:22mind. Yeah, if it stays that way also,
- 4:25I'm not into it. I think what's gonna happen is
- 4:28that he is gonna crack power play one.
- 4:31If I if I had to guess you think because like I think.
- 4:34I mean, yeah, they're gonna. He had a few shifts there at the
- 4:36last game. Yeah.
- 4:38So it's tough because I mean, this is like $20.00 in a way.
- 4:43There's so many mouths to feed here and it's such a wagon of a
- 4:46team. But Grantland's injury gave rise
- 4:49to Seneca becoming a pretty solid player.
- 4:52So now that Seneca's been doing super well, I don't know if he
- 4:55can crack the top 6. I mean, it's just a loaded,
- 4:58loaded top 6 right now. Unless he takes centre from
- 5:00Mctavish, in which case he becomes super interesting.
- 5:04For sure. I do think that like we've seen
- 5:07with this Ducks team, that they don't really have that much of A
- 5:11loyalty to the current lines. Like we've seen them.
- 5:14We've seen Gautier get bumped down to power play 2.
- 5:17We've seen Carlson get bumped down to like line 2.
- 5:19We've seen, you know, even the best, best guys on this team
- 5:21where way overperforming and just being amazing, not
- 5:24necessarily perform, just performing amazingly, are not
- 5:26locked into line one power play 1.
- 5:27So I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that
- 5:30Grantland makes it onto power play one or in the top 6.
- 5:32But until then, he's just a watchlist guy to me.
- 5:34The the main thing though, like because I do think that he's
- 5:37more likely to get power play one than he is to crack the top
- 5:406. So let's say he was like line 3
- 5:42power play on how interested are you then?
- 5:44Because I I just think that they want him on PP1 for the face off
- 5:47wins, which I understand if he's P1, he's worth a look obviously.
- 5:50And as we're recording this, he's I think he's practicing
- 5:53there. So, but would they put Mason
- 5:56Atavist there at some point? Would they put Cutter Goatee
- 5:58back on P1? They can put Seneca there.
- 6:00Like they have a lot of talent that deserves to be there over
- 6:03him. It's just how valuable are those
- 6:04faceoff wins for the power play, which is pretty valuable, right?
- 6:07You wanna start in the offensive zone when you can.
- 6:09It's just at some point I feel they just rely on Leo Carlson to
- 6:12take those and they replace ground with somebody else.
- 6:14But if if he's there like is he, are you rostering him more than
- 6:17like let's say you're the best waiver streamer on the like
- 6:19Jason Zucker or something? I mean, honestly, I view him
- 6:22like, let's say he's on power play one.
- 6:23Hmm, Then I view him kind of like slightly better than like a
- 6:27a JG Pageau and like a really deeply, you know, those types of
- 6:30guys who have winger eligibility.
- 6:31But when you face offs and they could chip in at other cats,
- 6:34that's all I see him as. I don't see him as I know he had
- 6:36a one game that got where he got five points.
- 6:37Then he's been out for so much of the season.
- 6:39So you look at his averages and it looks like he's almost point
- 6:41per game. But for the most part, he's not
- 6:43going to put up points for you. So don't think I'm too
- 6:45interested. So like, you'd rather Monahan
- 6:48over him? You'd rather Zucker over him?
- 6:50Like, yeah, Zuccarello, like all those guys.
- 6:54Yeah, 100%. Yeah, I I'm totally with you.
- 6:57It's it's with Seneca doing really well that makes him like
- 7:00probably not shooting for the top six.
- 7:02That's the difference between now and before he got injured.
- 7:05And he should be rostered in more than 26% of leagues.
- 7:08If he hits power play one because that's where he's at
- 7:10now. I feel like he can get up to
- 7:12like the 3540 mark. So he will get rostered.
- 7:15But yeah, I'm not trading for him or anything like that.
- 7:19Yeah, alright, let's move on to some more interesting stuff.
- 7:21Not that wasn't interesting, but I think there's more interesting
- 7:23names out there. Everything about.
- 7:26The off right now. Yeah.
- 7:28Everything the ducks are just so fun to talk about.
- 7:30So they are fun to talk about. All right.
- 7:32Andre Vasilevsky is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
- 7:36Jonas is a Jonas or Yonas. I think it's Jonas, Jonas,
- 7:39Jonas. OK, Jonas Johansson, they have
- 7:44to be the same, right? It's either Jonas Johansson or
- 7:46Jonas Johansson. It's not going to be one in the.
- 7:48Other Johansson, so I'm leaning. Yogi, I'll go the alliteration
- 7:51king of of Tampa, Yonis Johansson fills in while he's
- 7:57out. I think Vassey was just put on
- 7:59IR, so he has to be out for at least the back-to-back starting
- 8:02this week. But they haven't said that he's
- 8:05going to be longer than that. I saw something saying that he's
- 8:07kind of just, he made some comments with the coach, made
- 8:09some comments. He's like, yeah, my age is just
- 8:11stuff you're dealing with and you just kind of manage it over
- 8:13the course of the season. So I believe that type of thing
- 8:15there. I'm not too worried about it,
- 8:17but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up, you know, sitting
- 8:19some games here and there just to like manage, you know,
- 8:22whatever he's dealing with. Yep, I mean, pretty much like he
- 8:25was put on IR, it's retroactive. So the only games he's for sure
- 8:28missing are Monday, Tuesday. Now when you're listening to
- 8:31this episode, this comes out Wednesday morning.
- 8:33So the Monday, Tuesday back-to-back, we'll have just
- 8:35passed. And I recommend that people in
- 8:38the discord, like they were asking me, do I, I have
- 8:39Veselovsky, do I pick up Johansson or do I pick up like
- 8:43Tristan Jarry or do I pick up a, a Camry or something?
- 8:46And honestly, my advice was if the goal you're picking up is a
- 8:50drop, as soon as Vasilevsky, Vasilevsky comes back, I'm
- 8:52picking up your answer if I can because I want to have like the
- 8:55security of that situation under lock.
- 8:58Because yeah, they put him out. He's missing only two games.
- 9:02But you don't know if it's gonna be longer, like just ambiguity
- 9:04in the situation. And you never know these
- 9:05injuries for goalies specifically.
- 9:07So I want to have that position locked down.
- 9:09Now, if it's like a goal you're picking up and you're not
- 9:11necessarily drop. Yeah.
- 9:17So anyways, if that's all you're picking up and you're not
- 9:19dropping him immediately, then I would go with Jari over
- 9:22Vasilevsky over Johansson. I mean, I would still take I
- 9:26would still take Johansson over over Camry, even if you're, you
- 9:30know, thinking longer term because they're both short term
- 9:33plays. But but I totally agree with
- 9:35what Kevin saying there where if you sorry, he just dropped,
- 9:41dropped off again and it was mid sentence.
- 9:43So I'm trying to fill and finish and continue for him, but
- 9:46Hillary trying to finish. Each other sandwiches here
- 9:48exactly. Other other than the Colorado
- 9:51Avalanche, who are just ridiculous in every single way,
- 9:54the Tampa Bay Lightning are the best goals against team in the
- 9:58league. So that's how they have been
- 10:00winning pretty much being more shut down, which is surprising,
- 10:04especially as a Hagel Kucherov owner with how crazy they've
- 10:08been on offence last few weeks. But yeah, I mean, this is
- 10:12obviously a huge blow to their team.
- 10:14Talk about talismanic like Vasilevsky is a huge part of
- 10:17their success so. Yeah.
- 10:19I will say though, that I do think that Johansson's gonna do
- 10:22a better job filling in than let's say comma is doing for
- 10:24halibut because I know like a lot of people, a lot of people
- 10:27who are like, hell, buck down, gotta grab comma.
- 10:28Or even if like you're the owner, you grab Conroy just to
- 10:31like do that kind of handcuff that Kevin was talking about.
- 10:33And they're super disappointed. They're like, why isn't Conry
- 10:36putting up Hellebuyck numbers, You know, which obviously was
- 10:39never gonna happen. But like this is different
- 10:41because first of all, Tampa is a lot better of a team than
- 10:42Winnipeg. And I think your answer is just
- 10:44a better goalie than Camry. So definitely something to look
- 10:47at in terms of Tampa. Brayden Point is returning from
- 10:50injury and we'll bump Nick Paul off power play 1.
- 10:52So the Nick Paul power play 1 dream is dead.
- 10:55I think that they're kind of getting back all their guys.
- 10:58And what's interesting is that Darren Radish is keeping Power
- 11:03Play one while even though Hedman is back.
- 11:05And then Bjorkstrand found his way back on Power Play 1.
- 11:07I don't know why they love having him there, he's so not
- 11:11good, but whatever. Yeah.
- 11:14It's it's kind of baffling that they want to put Hagel on there,
- 11:17but it is what it is. So it's looking like it's
- 11:19Kucherov, Point Bjorkstrand Gensel and Darren Raddysh for
- 11:24now on Power Play 1. Yeah, it's crazy that they don't
- 11:29just do that in it from our perspective, but I get it in
- 11:33real life, Hagel is extremely effective and helps the team in
- 11:36in the ways that he does. So I'm not expecting him to get
- 11:38that at any point. Brayden Point, though, I if he
- 11:43has like one or two not great games, given how good Tom has
- 11:46been offensively as of late, he just becomes the biased of
- 11:49Billows. Like we we talked about that all
- 11:50the time. So keep an eye out like even if
- 11:53you don't own him or he's not on your trading radar, like he will
- 11:56turn things around at some point this season because he's just
- 11:59too to be as bad as he's been. Yeah, we're getting really close
- 12:02to the place where if you trade for him, it could be that exact
- 12:06moment where he turned his season around.
- 12:08And then, like the owner who's held him all year is going to be
- 12:10like, I can't believe I traded him right when, you know, he
- 12:13turned it around. And you're the guy who's like,
- 12:15thanks for holding on to him for me while he puts zeros and I'm
- 12:17gonna grab him and he's gonna be a point for game guys.
- 12:19So definitely a very interesting grab.
- 12:22OK, well first of all, my camera died so I'm I'm done with this
- 12:27webcam. Honestly guys, I'm going to
- 12:28figure this shit out. Telling you and he roasted least
- 12:32for using my computer webcam. Ohgod, I mean, listen, the
- 12:35quality is better, but how much can you rely on the quality like
- 12:38the expected value when it's just not producing on a
- 12:40consistent basis is just I don't.
- 12:42Know honestly it's kind of like the like yes for wall set of
- 12:44webcams like when it's on it's like the goat, but it only plays
- 12:47half the games so. Every time.
- 12:50It's gonna be on like Donkey Kong all the time, but just
- 12:54just. Just.
- 12:56Just just a note on on Brayden Point, however, as, as we record
- 13:00this, like you guys said, like he's, he's back and people are
- 13:03worried like, OK, can I expect better things?
- 13:05Honestly, I don't think you can expect worse things.
- 13:07I, I truly expect Brayden point to get back to what we expect
- 13:12from Brayden point in the very near future.
- 13:14I think we're we're, we're coming close to the final days
- 13:18of the by law being able to happen because people are
- 13:21dropping Brayden Point like in a lot of leagues in the discord,
- 13:23I'm seeing people be like, I just picked them up off waivers.
- 13:26He starts from my IR. Who do I cut down all these
- 13:28nodes healthy? I think that's the fact that
- 13:31people are dropping him means that you can acquire him for so
- 13:33cheap still, and I would still be trying to do that.
- 13:37Would you? Would you cut?
- 13:38Would you cut or trade like Dylan Strum for Brayden Point?
- 13:43I take overstrom, yeah. Yeah.
- 13:46I mean, yeah. Anyways, I just think that he's
- 13:48super valuable in that if you're listening to this and you can
- 13:51still acquire him, please do so. Yeah, yeah, OK, onto some
- 13:55Western Conference stuff. Connor Garland returned from
- 13:59injury and bumped Kiefer Sherwood off power play 1.
- 14:02And then Elias Pettersson went down with entry with an upper
- 14:05body injury. And it seems like Jonathan
- 14:07Electra Amaki is taking his spot on line one, power play one.
- 14:10But I don't think those lines are locked in.
- 14:12And also, we don't really know what's going on with the Elise
- 14:15Peterson. It was kind of like a last
- 14:16second scratch and he warmed up that game.
- 14:19So I think that it's kind of still murky about what the issue
- 14:23is and we'll see how long term this is.
- 14:26Yeah, like, first of all, Garland and Grantland's names
- 14:29are just way too similar to be on the same same news episodes,
- 14:33so no. But come on, man, no, but all
- 14:38all this to say with with garlands, he's actually been
- 14:40really good playing insane minutes all year.
- 14:43I like this a lot. I think Vancouver still in a
- 14:46really tough spot. It doesn't help the team much,
- 14:49but I I mean, I'm not really that surprised he bumped him off
- 14:53power play one liquor and Mackie.
- 14:55I I've been unwisely excited about the prospect of him being
- 15:00a good NHL player for. He's basically Goose V 2.0.
- 15:04Yeah, no, he's he's still like like as a prospect.
- 15:07I don't know how old he is, but I think it's like this Lefkofsky
- 15:10draft here or the Cutter go trade draft here more more more
- 15:14correctly put. But yeah, Garland great for
- 15:16shots, obviously, and he hasn't had a point in his return yet,
- 15:21but I still think it's he's a good guy to roster.
- 15:25I, I just think that this is not honestly like I'm, I don't with
- 15:30the deployment, you have to be interested for like a minimum
- 15:33level, but I just feel like it might be so short lived that I'm
- 15:36not wasting an ad on him for a few games while Peterson is out
- 15:42because I don't know how good he's gonna be with the
- 15:43deployment, first of all, so. Yeah, you're talking like
- 15:46Mackey, not Garland, right? Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:48Like a Rumaki Garland, as long as he's has the good deployment,
- 15:52he's valuable. He might be a trade piece as
- 15:54well if people want him. So I feel like they're gonna do
- 15:56what they can to showcase that. Yeah, alright, here's the kind
- 16:00of crazy one that came out of nowhere.
- 16:02Adam Fox was put on LTIR with an upper body injury and his
- 16:05timeline to return is unknown. Will Quilly currently taking his
- 16:08spot on power play 1 two things to note here. 1 is he got
- 16:11injured and then immediately put on LTIR.
- 16:13Like we don't really see that, right?
- 16:15It's usually, you know, they'll be day-to-day to out to IR and
- 16:19then LTIR, you know, but he just went straight on like next day.
- 16:22So I don't know what that means in terms of his timeline.
- 16:25I feel like he can't be good, but maybe they just want to like
- 16:28find a way to use the the cap room.
- 16:30And then second is I've seen rumors that the Rangers are
- 16:34looking to trade for a power play 1 defenseman.
- 16:37So that kind of also makes me worried about Fox's timeline.
- 16:41And I saw like Eric Gustafson's name being tossed around and I
- 16:45saw all the Detroit fans being like, take him, please.
- 16:47He's like on their AHL team. He's not even in the right now.
- 16:50But but yeah, so I don't think that this five forward power
- 16:53play is going to stick. I don't think that's what they
- 16:56want to be doing. And I do think they're going to
- 16:58make an acquisition for some. I mean, it's gonna be super low
- 17:01cost, like Gustafson. I don't think they make a big
- 17:02splash, but I think something's going to happen.
- 17:07Yeah, I, I, I don't see them making a splash.
- 17:10I don't know if they have the cap room to make a splash like
- 17:11that. For Eric Gustafson.
- 17:15No, no. For Gustafson, yes, but I don't
- 17:16think they're doing another movie besides Gustafson, No, no.
- 17:19We can't. We can't see your facial
- 17:21expressions bad. But yeah, no, I, I and if
- 17:28Gustafson gets added to the team, I'm actually interested
- 17:31because we've seen him be successful there in the past and
- 17:33he knows the system. But honestly, I wouldn't be
- 17:36surprised if they just roll with this five forward because Panera
- 17:38couldn't be the quarterback of this of this unit and it's not a
- 17:40problem so. Plot twist, Tony D'Angelo gets
- 17:44traded back then. Yeah.
- 17:47Score Rochester again. No, thank you.
- 17:49Yeah, exactly. The only way to beat Chester can
- 17:52is that is self goal invite Tony D'Angelo.
- 17:54What do you guys think? Do you New York rivalry double?
- 17:58Agent exactly. What do you guys think all this
- 18:01stuff means for Adam Fox's timeline?
- 18:03Like, I know there's been no real news about it, but like, to
- 18:06me, it's just kind of grim. Majano, OK.
- 18:09That's my expectation. I think it's like right before
- 18:11the Olympics. Vivid bring him back before
- 18:14because that was the whole thing that he really wants to play
- 18:16that. In exactly yeah, I don't think
- 18:18he wants to miss the Olympics and I think one of the reasons
- 18:20why they made this move so early is to give him the best chance.
- 18:23Not that it changes anything like whether they put him on IR
- 18:25right away or not doesn't really change the fact like his
- 18:28timeline to come back. But I think it was one of those
- 18:30things like let's not let's not play any games with this.
- 18:32We know you're gonna be out for awhile LTIR and then hopefully
- 18:36you're back in time for that. I think that's the goal.
- 18:39So yeah, that's what I would be expecting.
- 18:42Yeah OK Shane Pinto is out at least two weeks with a lower
- 18:46body injury. Dylan Cousins gets his spot back
- 18:49on power play one. I am a little worried as a
- 18:52Cousins holder that into bumped him in the 1st place.
- 18:55It just seems kind of crazy, like Cousins doing so well makes
- 18:58me think that even if cousins keeps doing well and Pinto comes
- 19:01back, they might still bump him because it's not like he wasn't
- 19:03doing well beforehand. So I still I'm happy to hold
- 19:07cousins. His bangers are unreal enough
- 19:09that even if he does get bumped off, he still someone you're
- 19:11happy to have on your team. I don't know, Kevin, what you're
- 19:13the you're the biggest cousin lover on here, but.
- 19:17I do love me some cousins. And do you think he could be
- 19:19considered a sell high if he starts popping off on the power
- 19:21play before Pinto comes back? I mean, I think cousins
- 19:25especially, like the main reason why I love him for bangers
- 19:29leagues is because of his bangers are so elite, right?
- 19:31Like in our league of record, we have face off wins.
- 19:33We have hits, block shots Pimms as well, which he's low key good
- 19:38at Pimms. He's better at faceoff wins and
- 19:40he the hits he can produce from the pure C position are, are
- 19:44really exceptional. And listen, I'm Pinto has been
- 19:47up for a few games. I'm not really worried about the
- 19:50P1 because I think that's what the default situation is.
- 19:54Him 21 and probably was so bad and that's why they needed to
- 19:57make a change And the other guys were just such staples that
- 19:59they're never going to get bumped off.
- 20:01So if the power plays clicking and he's on it, I think he's
- 20:05gonna keep the spot because I think that's a default
- 20:07situation. Now the other interesting thing
- 20:09is if you look at his last two games with Pinto out, like he
- 20:12played major minutes, he's played over 20 minutes in both
- 20:14games. He had double digit face off
- 20:16wins in both games. So I think they're relying on
- 20:19him a little bit more. And if you look at practice like
- 20:22Stutzel has been, I mean, we just highlighted him as a bylaw.
- 20:25On a recent Billow episode, and if you look at the practice
- 20:30lines, tools playing kind of alone there and they stacked
- 20:33Brady, Dylan, Cousins and Batherson on one line.
- 20:38So as a Cousins owner, I'm thrilled about that.
- 20:40He's playing with the best talent on the team.
- 20:42And I mean, listen, if he if he starts popping off, I'm always
- 20:45looking to sell for the right price.
- 20:47But just capitalizing on the heightened value, not what I
- 20:49actually think it's current value is, but I think there's a
- 20:52lot of better days ahead for Cousins.
- 20:53Like he's averaging .5 points per game.
- 20:55I think he can easily get to .75 point 8.
- 20:59Yeah, I think it's super reasonable.
- 21:01Yeah, I'm with you there. And the the thing with with the
- 21:05whole situation is that Brady did just come back and then they
- 21:09like, what was it one or two games before they put Pinto on
- 21:11the Power Play 1? So I guess we'll see how it
- 21:14shakes out. I get what you're saying though,
- 21:16Josh, that like you're still apprehensive to feel confident
- 21:20as a Cousins owner because he was doing OK and Pinto still
- 21:23took it so. Yeah.
- 21:25So I think it's something something to keep an eye out on.
- 21:27Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 21:30OK, Joseph Woll is out about a week with the lower body injury.
- 21:34Dennis Hildie is the starter until he returns because Stolarz
- 21:37is also out. But the coach did say Walsh
- 21:39shouldn't be out for a for longer than a week.
- 21:41So this is very much a one week stream type of thing, not a rush
- 21:45to grab. Yeah, not much to say here.
- 21:48I mean, that's that's just what the case is.
- 21:50Do we have a timeline on Stolarz's return?
- 21:52No, I know that it's looking pretty bad.
- 21:54I mean, just every time the coach is asked about him, he's
- 21:56like, yeah, he's still not skating.
- 21:57Like not seeing much progress. Like all kind of like, not great
- 22:00looking things. But at the end of the day, you
- 22:02know, sometimes they say that and then all of a sudden they
- 22:04make a big step forward, right? And then they're back on the
- 22:06ice. So I don't think we have a clear
- 22:08timeline on him just yet, but I know he hasn't really started
- 22:10skating. Yeah, not much, Dad.
- 22:14OK, Matt Duchene returned from injury and his line 2, power
- 22:17play 2. Also to talk about the Stars,
- 22:20Tyler Sagan is out for the season with an ACL injury.
- 22:23That is a huge loss for Dallas. Obviously he's not one of their
- 22:26like top, top guys anymore, but like he's just a big part of
- 22:29that lineup, whether it's like in the locker room or on the ice
- 22:31as well. So that's really rough for him.
- 22:34I'm not too interested. I know a lot of people you
- 22:36talked about Kevin, talked about grand, everyone asking about him
- 22:39coming back do Shane, I think has been asked about even more
- 22:41than Granlund. And people look at his last year
- 22:43stats, right where he was like point per game and doing all
- 22:46sorts of crazy stuff. And it just feels so
- 22:50unsustainable. I mean, going into the season,
- 22:51we were like, this is unsustainable.
- 22:53So coming back from injury, just it's not, it's the deployment at
- 22:55the end of the day, right? If he's not power play one.
- 22:57He's not the type of guy who's going to put up points per game
- 22:59without power play 1-2 years in a row at this stage in his
- 23:02career. No, I literally have 0 interest
- 23:06in the shine to be honest. Yeah, I'm not interested in him
- 23:10either. I guess the the timing though,
- 23:12like this gives him a better pathway to points because he's
- 23:14playing with Johnson and Ramzan that like if Sagan was there, it
- 23:18would be a bit more of a question mark, but I feel like
- 23:20they're just going to be a more top heavy, even strength team
- 23:23than what otherwise would be the case.
- 23:25So he won't replicate what he did last year, but I guess this
- 23:28gives his value somewhat of a boost that he's like, you know,
- 23:31not a threat. Like no one on the bottom 6 was
- 23:34like threat to taking that spot from.
- 23:35Him. Would you rather do Shaner
- 23:37Gremlin? Duchene was a good one.
- 23:39I was thinking that as you guys gave the intro there.
- 23:43Actually, no, I'm gonna go grand.
- 23:44I think he actually has a shot at play 1.
- 23:47Me too. I'm gonna go Grantland.
- 23:48I like the face off upside also. So in the faceoff leagues for
- 23:51sure. And he just shoots more.
- 23:53I mean like I'm pretty confident in short term goal.
- 23:56Yeah. I mean I just wanna will do last
- 23:58little tidbit on Duchene. Like for what my projection is
- 24:02for him rest of season like laser, he was a point per game
- 24:04had like roughly just over two shots, not really hits or anyone
- 24:08in any blocks. And I feel like this year you
- 24:10can probably expect the same thing like 1.8 shots, 2.2 shots
- 24:14like in that range. And he's I don't think getting
- 24:16anywhere close to a point per game unless like his linemates
- 24:19at 585 like severely carry him. I'm expecting like a .65 point 7
- 24:25and there's just like would I rather produce?
- 24:29Yes. And that's saying a lot, so.
- 24:31Oh, I don't think that's saying much at all.
- 24:34Kevin, don't bring up produces. Name your cameras already shot.
- 24:37I don't know what. Else is gonna happen to you
- 24:39lose. Speaking of the Washington
- 24:43Capitals, John Carlson is day-to-day with an upper body
- 24:47injury. Jacob Chicken had already bumped
- 24:49him off properly on before the entry.
- 24:50But interestingly enough, and unfortunately for the Caps, Ryan
- 24:54Leonard is out long term with an upper body injury and this may
- 24:57open a spot back up on power play.
- 24:58One for John Carlson when he returns.
- 25:00I don't know what you guys think about that, if you think it's
- 25:01going to be another forward who jumps in or if Carlson is going
- 25:04to get that spot now, but I think that makes it.
- 25:06I know we had said like sell Carlson, he's overperforming and
- 25:09that's still true regardless of whether he's back on power play
- 25:11or not. He's not going to point per game
- 25:13but it does change it from a must sell.
- 25:16Get him off your team while he's while you still can to like OK,
- 25:19he'll still be solid rest of the season.
- 25:21So first of all, horrible timing with the Ryan Leonard injury
- 25:24because he had a ridiculous game like I, I like he's one of the
- 25:30rising stars in the NHL. He was on a four-game point
- 25:34streak and in that fourth game he got 4 points with six shots
- 25:38in two. Very sad.
- 25:40It was only. 30 minutes though, so it's not like, I don't know.
- 25:44It's still super disappointing, sorry.
- 25:45Yeah. Yeah, second of all, the proper
- 25:48way to address this team is Alexis.
- 25:51Sorry 6 game point streak Alyxia protest in.
- 25:53The Washington. Capitals, just to just to point
- 25:56that out. Does that add.
- 25:59Last but not least, although I do love protests, as everybody
- 26:02knows, I like, I'm not scared of a guy like him taking the power
- 26:07play over John Carlson. So I think that the logical way
- 26:11that this is gonna go is that when when Carlson's like ready
- 26:14to be there, he's gonna take the power play.
- 26:15One Ethan Frank, I actually like he can snipe, he can shoot the
- 26:21puck. But like, I mean, to me that's
- 26:24it's obvious that the guy who's going to go there would be John
- 26:27Carlson. What about like Connor
- 26:29McMichael? Yeah.
- 26:30No, I don't. If Connor, Michael is going to
- 26:32be one, that would put him there instead of Frank.
- 26:35So yeah, like that's that's exactly what I was gonna say.
- 26:37Yeah, I yeah, just, I feel need to comment just because John
- 26:41Carlson was my cell high in the recent episode.
- 26:43And like Josh said, I he went from being like an absolute get
- 26:47off your roster to like, I still wanna sell just because the
- 26:51production was so inflated. But if you keep him on your
- 26:54roster right now, like the floor is higher than it would have
- 26:57been like a week ago. So really bad timing on the
- 27:00Leonard injury. Like it happened like a few days
- 27:01after we recorded the the vital cell high.
- 27:04So bad timing unfortunately, but saving grace if you still have
- 27:07Carlton on your roster. I mean also like since he's
- 27:11still a sell high, this could actually help you sell him,
- 27:14right? You can be like, look, even
- 27:15look, you may not have believed me a week ago and I tried to
- 27:17sell him and and chicken was the powerful one guy, but now
- 27:19Leonards out he's definitely going to be power play and like
- 27:22what he's been doing with that deployment, you know, so since
- 27:24it could help with the cell. It's not out of the question
- 27:27either that like we're basically saying it's guaranteed that he
- 27:29gets back up P1 when with the letter out.
- 27:32But listen, it's not out of the cars that they keep Ethan Frank
- 27:34there and they just put Carlton on P2.
- 27:36So for sure I would still be trying to get out of the
- 27:38situation just because there's a lot of ambiguity in the discord.
- 27:41I mean, Josh and I think we both helped one of our one of our
- 27:45listeners do a big trade recently.
- 27:47He was trying to get better at goalie and he he traded, he was
- 27:50trying to trade most cider for Igor Sterken, which if you need
- 27:53the goalie position, that's like a perfect swap.
- 27:55But he still had John Carlson on his Ross.
- 27:57And I was like, oh, you know what, like listen, I just
- 27:59highlighted this guys as a cell high.
- 28:01Like see if you can actually get him off your roster and get
- 28:04value for him. And he was able to make it a 2
- 28:06for two when he sent Carlson and cider for Igor and Dylan Strome,
- 28:11which I think is a massive win for him.
- 28:12So. Yeah, that's huge.
- 28:15Yeah. OK, Yoder Kochetkov returned
- 28:19from injury. Carolina is back to A3 goalie
- 28:22rotation, which everyone in fantasy loves, adding to Rod
- 28:27Random's amazing status among fantasy owners.
- 28:30Why not mess with the goalies too, right?
- 28:33Honestly, like, yeah, it's just it's so frustrating to own any
- 28:38Carolina goalie because there's such a good team.
- 28:40There's so much value. I mean, the same with all their
- 28:42players, right? There's such a good team,
- 28:43there's so much value to be had. And Rod finds a way to he's
- 28:46going to be the most anti gambling person out there,
- 28:48right? Like he's just like, you know
- 28:49what, screw you guys. I'm just gonna make my team win
- 28:51while having no valuable players on it for your gambling or
- 28:54whatever or fantasy. But yeah, it just sucks because
- 28:57even if the guys play well, if they're playing like Max one
- 28:59game a week, that's really rough.
- 29:01So I will say that the totem pole, I would say 1.
- 29:05I actually would put busy ahead of Anderson, though.
- 29:07I don't know you guys think about that.
- 29:09Yeah, I agree with that. I, I was gonna say like I I
- 29:12kinda get not utilizing your players in the fantasy efficient
- 29:16way and how that translates to real life success.
- 29:19I don't understand how he thinks a three goalie rotation is good
- 29:24for longevity in an NHL team. So my take is that this is going
- 29:29to be consolidated into two with Kochetkov being A1A.
- 29:34Now I own busy, so I realized how that sounds, but also
- 29:42Brandon Bussey of the Carolina Hurricane, one of the goalies on
- 29:45my fantasy hockey team. So let's be very clear.
- 29:52And he can handle the workload. That they were giving him on the
- 29:55Carolina Hurricanes, No. But this, this scary part with
- 29:59all this is like, it's like I I just think he is the odd one out
- 30:03and they're not gonna do this for that much longer.
- 30:05So I don't know what kind of situation it is.
- 30:08Will they demote him? I don't know.
- 30:10I hope that's not the case for because I actually think maybe,
- 30:15like, I think he's definitely better than Anderson.
- 30:17Yeah. I don't know if you guys agree.
- 30:19I agree with Jakey. If you like Bossy is the one
- 30:22that gives you the most signs of life it feels like for this
- 30:26roster. But what?
- 30:28Why is that? Why you guys laughing?
- 30:32OK, reason, but I also feel like giving like the the the context
- 30:36and his age and everything. He's also the easiest one to
- 30:39leave out because there's no way like you have a healthy Anderson
- 30:41and you're not dressing him up for a game or a healthy check
- 30:44cover not dressing him up for a game like the easiest excuse
- 30:47they have to not dress guys busy.
- 30:48So I've got 2. Comments on this one is one
- 30:53thing to note is that Anderson and could check cover both super
- 30:56entry prone right. So I think that is one of the
- 31:00reasons why he may be running this 3 goalie tandem is just he
- 31:02doesn't trust that if he like gives the other guys like more
- 31:05than like 1/3 of the games, they're not gonna like break
- 31:07into pieces. So I think that could be an
- 31:09explanation and it could be an Ave. to you know, one of these
- 31:12other guys being more valuable. But like you can't do hold that
- 31:15and hope. You kind of have to like watch
- 31:17Lesly guy until the injuries happen and then you pick them
- 31:19up. And second thing.
- 31:20This is something that popped in my head that I don't know if I
- 31:22haven't seen any rumors about. This is just in my head.
- 31:24But like if they have these three goalies, like maybe they
- 31:27trade like Anderson to like Oilers or something, you know,
- 31:30like a a goalie needy team like that, you know, he's signed to
- 31:33like a one year contract. Like that's super easy to to
- 31:35send in a trade. Like I said, I haven't seen
- 31:37anything about this, but do the. Because the main thing with the
- 31:42Oilers is that they do not want to trade for somebody that's not
- 31:45a clear upgrade. First of all, I don't think
- 31:47Anderson is a clear upgrade for any goal in the league right
- 31:49now. And also, like, one of the
- 31:52reasons why they're currently like not trading for Jerry is
- 31:55the injury concerns. Like, they don't want, they
- 31:57don't want to be a fool and trade for a guy he gets hurt.
- 31:59Like that would just be disastrous for the organization
- 32:01when they've been lacking goaltending experience like the
- 32:04whole time. It's also one of the main
- 32:06reasons why they didn't end up training for Gibson in recent
- 32:08years. Like, could you imagine if they
- 32:10put their season on a tray like this and the guy that they
- 32:13traded for gets hurt? Like, they just look like a
- 32:14clown. So yeah, I mean, they look like
- 32:16clowns. Anyways, but they do.
- 32:19For a guy and yeah, I definitely see your.
- 32:21Point So these are just these were just ways I could see the
- 32:24three goalie rotation ending, but barring some sort of trade
- 32:27or injury, it's just going to continue.
- 32:29And it just kind of sucks to hold any of these guys.
- 32:31So like if you have Anderson or or busy, like I'm pretty
- 32:35comfortable dropping either of them.
- 32:36Obviously like on a week 4 game week where you can get like one
- 32:39or two starts and still find a hold.
- 32:40But like I'm thinking like long term.
- 32:42The only one that's kind of interesting to me is Kochetkov
- 32:44and I know if I have him, I'm really not happy about it.
- 32:48I don't know if I'm comfortable dropping him.
- 32:49It really depends on your waivers, Yeah, and the only.
- 32:52Thing like is if you look at them on the season, Anderson's
- 32:555-7 and two pussies, 81 and 0, and you could check off his four
- 32:59one and oh so like there's clearly 2 superior goalies in
- 33:04this situation. So to me, I think that if things
- 33:08were fair, that would happen. But Anderson has like a lot of,
- 33:11you know, respect from having had a pretty decent career.
- 33:15And if Kochetkov can actually stay healthy, it's probably just
- 33:18going to be checked 1 Anderson one be and that's it.
- 33:22Yeah, I guess we'll. See, we won't talk about it
- 33:24anymore, but but yeah, it's just an interesting thing to keep an
- 33:27eye out on because if anyone runs away with it, it's a very
- 33:29valuable position to have. Alright.
- 33:31Logan Cooley is out indefinitely with a lower body injury.
- 33:35J Peterka is getting his spot on power play one.
- 33:37This is actually super interesting for Peterka because
- 33:40he was pretty much droppable maybe like 3-4 weeks ago and all
- 33:44of a sudden he's like, you know, kind of people drafted him being
- 33:48like, oh, he got traded to Utah. He's going to be like on this
- 33:50high power offence, he escaped Buffalo and then he's been a
- 33:53huge let down. But with this deployment and the
- 33:55fact that it's an indefinite Logan Cooley injury, I'm much
- 33:58more interested in Artica. Fact is though, I'm not buying
- 34:00him because this is all time high value, right?
- 34:02So it's more just like if you have him on your roster or if
- 34:04you can pick him up, then I'm very interested, but I'm not
- 34:06going to go chasing for him. Are you guys?
- 34:11Are. You are you guys.
- 34:13Interested in Daniel Butt? Yeah.
- 34:16Funny, sorry about that. I actually.
- 34:19Over the course. Of like, I don't know if it was
- 34:21like the offseason or what. Like I follow along like the
- 34:23lines, right, for like different teams.
- 34:25And I kept seeing like them posting these lines and like, it
- 34:28would be like Keller Schmaltz, like Hayden.
- 34:30And then it would be like Cooley get their butt.
- 34:32And then it would be like whatever, you know?
- 34:33And for some reason, my head, I thought they were just using
- 34:35butt as like a placeholder. I didn't realize it was a
- 34:37player's name. And so I kept seeing it like I
- 34:39could sing that around the lineup.
- 34:40And I'm like, OK, who keeps being injured that they have
- 34:42like a placeholder, you know, in these lines.
- 34:44And it took me like, getting called up in the season for me
- 34:48to be like, oh, Daniel, but OK. So I did not realize he was a
- 34:53real. Person I saw, I saw somebody say
- 34:55like. It would have been so sick if he
- 34:57was on the Habs and he scores a goal because it had been like,
- 35:00OK, you look beautiful. But like but.
- 35:02That's like spelled the same way.
- 35:05I could have been pretty. Funny.
- 35:06Yeah, that would be funny all. That to be said, no, I'm not
- 35:09interested in in, but no, not interested in but.
- 35:13And I wanna I wanna ask you guys this because somebody, somebody
- 35:18in the discord was asking us about Peterka because you know,
- 35:23he has Peterka on his particular was available on waivers and his
- 35:27worst guys like Alex Tuck. So he's debating right now who
- 35:31to keep on his roster or, you know, drop Tuck for for Peterka.
- 35:35And honestly, like that's the kind of love that I feel like
- 35:37you probably should make given with the Logan Cooley injury
- 35:40that we just talked about. There's gonna be, I think more
- 35:44load on his shoulders, if you will, for Peterka to carry some
- 35:48momentum. And if he's the one that gets up
- 35:50one spot, I just feel like he's gonna be so solidified as better
- 35:54than Alex talk. So what do you guys think about
- 35:56that? I.
- 35:57Honestly, like I feel like I should adjust my hot topics for
- 35:59the next episode to include Alex Tuck because these are feel like
- 36:02there's a lot of people talking about him and like in every
- 36:05conversation the same thing. It's like there's this
- 36:07interesting guy on waivers, here are my three most droppable guys
- 36:09and one of them is always Alex Tuck.
- 36:10Yeah, it's getting to the point where like every time I'm asking
- 36:12these questions, I'm always like I find myself saying, yeah, Tuck
- 36:14is the drop. Tuck is the job.
- 36:16And it's just like, yes, he's very valuable.
- 36:18Let's say like shorties. He's great at blocks from a
- 36:20forward, he's great at, He's hitting decently and he's good
- 36:23for Pimms, you know, so like cat coverage he's great at, but he's
- 36:25never getting power play on barring injury.
- 36:27Like he only had it earlier in this year because all the Sabres
- 36:29injuries. And that just puts such a cap on
- 36:31his value that yeah, I would take Patricia for Tuck and and
- 36:34I'd be pretty happy about it with how things are going.
- 36:37And honestly, if talks the worst guy in your roster, then I'm
- 36:38pretty happy with my team. It's because it's because he
- 36:41goes on. These stretches where he'll have
- 36:42like 5 games in a row where he gets like 10 points and you're
- 36:45like, Oh my God, this guy is sick.
- 36:47And then he just like rides off that that production for like
- 36:49the next two weeks and he doesn't do anything.
- 36:52And you're like, OK, like is this guy still worth holding or
- 36:54not? And he was so good.
- 36:55And you just keep remembering that.
- 36:57So that's just one of those things that I feel like if he's
- 37:00your worst guy, you could probably stream that position.
- 37:02And not saying the streamer will always be better, but just
- 37:04having the constant rotation of players from that spot is going
- 37:06to be more valuable than just holding them.
- 37:08Yeah, I'm not like dying to drop.
- 37:10Him, but there's a lot of guys who surprisingly, I'd rather
- 37:13have than him. I'd rather take.
- 37:14Patrick, I'd rather take. The chance on Patrico, Yeah,
- 37:16yeah, I agree. OK.
- 37:20Jordan Kairu is day-to-day with a lower body injury.
- 37:23Oscar Sundqvist takes his spot on power Play 1.
- 37:26The Blues are just a mess. I mean, honestly, if you're a
- 37:28Cairo owner, you're probably like, yes, I could put him on IR
- 37:31Plus and just forget about him for a week, you know, because
- 37:33he's been such a disappointment this year.
- 37:35And yeah, this is just. I mean, why is Oscar Sunfish on
- 37:39power play one? Yeah.
- 37:40Like, what is going on with this team?
- 37:42And it just is such a mess. And honestly, as I have seen, it
- 37:45sucks. We just lost to them.
- 37:46And I'm like, how do you lose to the 2025, 2026 Saint Louis
- 37:50Blues, You know? So yeah, I'm not not picking up
- 37:53song fist not really interested in any of the Blues too much
- 37:55this year. The the only, the only.
- 37:58Silver lining here that I'm saying is that if if Cairo was
- 38:02I've been answering questions in the discord again where like,
- 38:04you know, people are basically asking me permission to drop
- 38:07Jordan Cairo and I just feel this is the excuse that I can
- 38:10finally be like, yes, like you can just if you can't IR plus
- 38:13dash him just like I'm giving you the OK, like I'm not holding
- 38:17this guy through injury. Cut him pick up the mess guy
- 38:19you've been trying to try to get on your roster.
- 38:21So. Yeah, the the.
- 38:24Sundquist thing is totally fantasy irrelevant.
- 38:28I like he's never been a someone to own fantasy hockey at all.
- 38:33I don't think players like Butt, I don't even think there's like,
- 38:39I don't think this is what's gonna happen.
- 38:40I think they'll probably like, why don't they just put Holloway
- 38:42there, you know, or something like the I mean.
- 38:45Look, we love Monty as a coach and even and even for fantasy we
- 38:48like him. But like he seems dead set on
- 38:50this split power play. He's been doing it since he
- 38:53since he came in and it was working for them last year.
- 38:55So I think that he just wants to spread the wealth.
- 38:57So he doesn't like loading up on the first unit?
- 39:00Yeah, OK. I.
- 39:01Guess, but yeah, yeah, it it totally does 0 interesting
- 39:04suncoast though. Yeah, OK.
- 39:07Kirill Marchenko returns from injury and bumped Kent Johnson
- 39:10off power play one. No real surprise there.
- 39:13Not surprising, but family still own one.
- 39:15Power play 1 and him and Broncos value goes up.
- 39:18And honestly, Monahan and Werenski, anyone who gets to
- 39:20play with Marchenko's value goes up.
- 39:21Another machine goes back. Yep.
- 39:23Yeah, literally nothing else. To cover, just happy to March
- 39:25and goes back and everybody else gets better on the team.
- 39:28Yeah, exactly. Drew Dowdy returned from injury
- 39:31and bumped Brant Clark off power Play one.
- 39:33This is gonna be one of our hot topics, so I don't want to dive
- 39:36into it too much. Spoiler alert.
- 39:38But yeah, I guess we'll see. Even for the hot topics,
- 39:41discussing what we think is going to happen over the longer
- 39:44term season. But it's just interesting to
- 39:46note that Dowdy's back and Clark up.
- 39:49Bumped off. You pick up Dowdy now.
- 39:52We'll dive into it a bit more. I'm.
- 39:54Not rushing to pick him up. I literally, I needed to pick up
- 39:56a defenseman for this week and I had the opportunity to take
- 39:59Daddy and I just went with a banger guy like Josh Manson.
- 40:01So I mean, obviously depends what your team needs.
- 40:04But first of all, I don't think he has an iron grip on that
- 40:07power play. Second of all, it's one of the
- 40:08worst power plays in the league and I don't think he's going to
- 40:10magically fix it. And third of all, he gets 0 back
- 40:12category coverage. So for those reasons, those
- 40:14reasons, I didn't go with picking him up.
- 40:16I'm I mean. I know that I'm going to talk
- 40:18about it on the the next episode, which is the Hot Topics
- 40:21episode, but people still want to have an answer.
- 40:23I think they're listening to this on Wednesday.
- 40:25If you want, we won't tease everyone too.
- 40:27Much. Yeah, if you.
- 40:29Have like Clark on your roster and you just see this news.
- 40:32Are you dropping one for the other?
- 40:36I mean, it makes me. Like before Dowdy came back and
- 40:39when Clark got power play one, I was super interested in Clark.
- 40:41Now that Clark got bumped off Airplay one, I'm not interested
- 40:44in Clark. Do I think he has the chance to
- 40:46get it back? Yes.
- 40:47So if you can hold him and see how things shake out for like a
- 40:50week or two, then if you have the luxury to do that and do it.
- 40:53But I don't want him on my roster if he's not power play
- 40:55one. But at the same time, like I
- 40:57said, I'm not that interested in doubt either.
- 40:58So I feel like you could drop Clark for for someone else who
- 41:02just gets you like bangs at the worst case.
- 41:04I'm in this exact. Situation I have Clark.
- 41:06I streamed them when Daddy was out, when he was practicing on
- 41:10P1. I picked him up and now, you
- 41:12know, Daddy's on my waivers. He's still there.
- 41:14And I did not try to make the swap.
- 41:17And the logic for me is, I keep saying this, but I answered this
- 41:21on the Discord. Somebody was curious, but to me,
- 41:25Doughty has zero category value. Like, he's not shooting.
- 41:27He doesn't he doesn't block. OK, so the only reason why you
- 41:30want him is the deployment. You're like, OK, he's on P1.
- 41:32You wanna defence that's exposed to P1, he's the guy.
- 41:35But honestly, I think the floor is still so low that even if he
- 41:39gets a few points here and there, like the Bangor
- 41:43categories, that he's not hitting or just Clark is getting
- 41:46shots. He averages over two shots a
- 41:48game, which from a defenseman is still definitely noteworthy.
- 41:51And he actually does block. Like, he's not, he's not a
- 41:53hitter, but he'll get you like one to four blocks, edging on
- 41:56more 1:00 to 2:00. And I just think that I'd rather
- 42:00hold Clark with the foundation of the categories, the category
- 42:04coverage that is hitting with the upside that if he actually
- 42:07hits P1, I think he can actually do something with it as opposed
- 42:09to what daddy is currently doing with for it.
- 42:11So I'm not making that swap. It also costs you an extra AD in
- 42:14Azure Valuable and you want to be strategic with them
- 42:16throughout your week. So I'm not making the swap.
- 42:19If I had Dowdy and Clark was on my waivers, I'm not making that
- 42:22swap either. I'm probably just holding the
- 42:23one that I currently have and waiting to see how the situation
- 42:26plays out. But I think Clark has way more
- 42:28upside that I'd be more upset with myself if I made the swap
- 42:31and then Clark gets people 1 and I can't pick him up.
- 42:34Then if I just held Clark and doubt he just keeps it in does
- 42:37mediocre with it if that makes sense.
- 42:38Yeah, no, I fully agree. But realistically, if you don't
- 42:41have either of them, they're both on waivers.
- 42:42I'm not picking up either. They're just both watch list to
- 42:44me. OK.
- 42:46Yeah, that's. Fair, OK.
- 42:48Afghani Malkin is day-to-day with an upper body injury.
- 42:51Anthony Mantha takes his spot on power play one.
- 42:53I mean, hopefully this isn't a long term thing.
- 42:55We've been saying cell Malkin for the entire year.
- 42:57I'm not gonna pat ourselves on the back because he's day-to-day
- 42:59with enough for body entry. But he's still a huge sell high.
- 43:02And Mantha had that one streak where he was a solid weight like
- 43:05a streamer. And Pittsburgh has four games
- 43:07this week and next week. So I don't mind picking him up
- 43:10as long as you're aware that Malcolm could just come back and
- 43:12he would lose that power, play one spot.
- 43:15Yeah, I mean, Malkins had a very surprising year so far.
- 43:19So I I think that in addition to him being, you know, the veteran
- 43:24former superstar that he is like he is still going to get the the
- 43:28power play 1 for sure when when he comes back.
- 43:31Not too interested in mount there because of that.
- 43:33And yet we still maintain the cell high recommendation,
- 43:37although actually probably now is the best time because he's
- 43:39had five points in his last two games.
- 43:41So provided that the injury is not too severe, of course.
- 43:44Like if he comes, it's just a games, then yeah.
- 43:47I mean, pretty much on all fronts.
- 43:49That's it. Although his shots have been
- 43:51pretty nuts shots, his shots have been way better.
- 43:55So I don't know, maybe he like readjusted to the speed of the
- 43:58NHL and he's good again, but there's no way he's gonna be
- 44:00walking. I'm just not buying it.
- 44:01I'm not. Buying the Malkin resurgence
- 44:03that it's a season longer thing. No same.
- 44:05Not buying it. Either same here and.
- 44:07It doesn't make him. Not a sell, right?
- 44:09It's still getting milk. And he's like a future Hall of
- 44:11Famer, right? Like similar ideas to the other
- 44:15amazing guys just passed their prime.
- 44:17Nevertheless, yeah, Mantis not too excited by this.
- 44:20Yeah, talking about. Amazing guys who are still in
- 44:23their prime. I'm ending this news segment
- 44:26with a bang. David Pasternak and Charlie
- 44:29McAvoy are both practicing and expect to play sometime this
- 44:32week. On their three-game road trip.
- 44:34They'll bump Hampus Lindholm and Casey Middlestadt from Power
- 44:36Play 1. So Pasternak was day-to-day.
- 44:38There wasn't much news on him, but we saw him skating so it's
- 44:40not super surprising to see him back.
- 44:41Although very exciting for past the holders, McAvoy is a really
- 44:44surprising 1. He got his face just blasted in
- 44:48Montreal. Um, I don't know if we're doing
- 44:51phrasing, but that's kind of exactly what happened.
- 44:53I didn't know how else to say it.
- 44:55He is his whole facial fracture. He had to get a big surgery.
- 44:59He's only drinking like milkshakes, you know, or
- 45:03smoothies or whatever. And he lost like 20 lbs.
- 45:05Yeah, like liquids is the word I was looking for.
- 45:07I don't know why I went straight to milkshakes because they bring
- 45:09all the boys to the yard I guess.
- 45:14Yeah, honestly, I am. But yeah, so and there was just
- 45:17like, you know, it sounded super grim.
- 45:19It was like we're hoping he may be back for the Olympics, stuff
- 45:21like that. And then I don't know where it's
- 45:23like he's on the ice. OK, He's practicing, expected to
- 45:25play sometime this week. So yeah, this is super exciting
- 45:29if you're McCoy owner. Honestly, I was trying to buy
- 45:31low on him for for a while and I think the the window passed.
- 45:33So that kind of sucks for me because I didn't pull it off.
- 45:35And and yeah, as a Pasta and McAvoy owner, I'm super excited
- 45:39the HAMP Island home dream is dead.
- 45:40But I mean, we always knew that was a short term play anyways,
- 45:42and it wasn't the most exciting so.
- 45:44So yeah. But I'm excited because I just
- 45:46traded for pasta, so let's go make you play me.
- 45:49This happens. I feel like Josh is always
- 45:55talking about how like his opponents players are just
- 45:56getting healthy as he's about to play them and now it's the full,
- 45:59I mean, there's all the other shoe Couture off back so.
- 46:02OK. Gave us like a.
- 46:06Week. Either way, you're just you're.
- 46:10Happy to get pasta back and I guess the, the, the Steves line
- 46:15one, yeah, line one dynasty era is over and I will be
- 46:19interested. There's a few.
- 46:20Players who it'll be interesting to see how it impacts their
- 46:22value. I'm thinking Morgan Geekie,
- 46:24obviously the biggest name, Elias Lindholm and Pavel Zacha
- 46:27because I know that before the injury they were splitting up
- 46:30geeky and pasta and they had Elias Lindholm with pasta and
- 46:33Sacco with geeky. Since past has been out, it's
- 46:36been Linton with Kiki and then Zach all by himself and so but
- 46:40earlier in the season it was pasta, Elias Lindholm and geeky
- 46:44altogether. So it'll be interesting to see
- 46:46how that shakes out. If I had to guess, I'd say it
- 46:47would be the pastel into home and then geeky Zaka teams really
- 46:52like splitting up their their top 6.
- 46:54So so we'll see how it plays out, but I think it's very
- 46:57exciting for for me and for everyone.
- 46:59I don't know if anything. I'll just, I don't know if
- 47:01anything can stop Morgan Geekie at this point.
- 47:03And I think that's like one of the biggest wins for the Mega
- 47:05Management podcast because in the offseason, I don't know if
- 47:07anybody we talked about more, maybe it was him and Dylan.
- 47:10So, but it was it was way more geeky.
- 47:12I think just because of he was way more of a less known name, I
- 47:15would say. So I know that we're good.
- 47:17But it's crazy how good, you know what I mean?
- 47:20Like, no, that's this is like the most insane.
- 47:21Like he's 90% owned guys when I, I drafted him in the 13th round
- 47:24of our league and he was, I think like 20% owned.
- 47:28And like, that's crazy what he's doing.
- 47:30He's 22 goals so far this year. It's, it's nuts.
- 47:32So he's still, he's still an absolute.
- 47:34Cell hide. Don't get us wrong, we're not
- 47:35saying what he's doing now is full-fledged production for the
- 47:38rest of the season, but just the fact that he was such a big
- 47:40success and like, he's not gonna go back to 0 even if he does
- 47:43slow down. And also just the fact that
- 47:46you're able to sell him for what you can right now is a win in
- 47:49itself in terms of like drafting him or picking him up early in
- 47:51the season. So yeah, yeah, So Pat on the
- 47:54back. For us, Steve stays.
- 47:56Left wing Line 1 and it's Pastor Brooklyn home and Steves is
- 48:00she's going to be insane. I mean, he's been pretty pretty.
- 48:03Nuts, like he's been like bangers beast.
- 48:05He gets that left wing eligibility finally then yeah.
- 48:08I mean, he could be like, you know, Castle, it's been kind of
- 48:10a bangers beast this year, you know, with that sea right wing
- 48:12eligibility. So I could see it being a
- 48:13similar type of thing, except maybe Steve actually get some
- 48:15points. He's playing with Lincoln pasta.
- 48:17So yeah. And yeah, it's an interesting
- 48:19pickup for sure. He could become insane like.
- 48:22He was all my radar for awhile and I was just like, Nah,
- 48:24whatever. And then like, he got the line 1
- 48:26and I was like, oh, and now if Pasternak is obviously
- 48:30Pasternack, way better to play with in geeky.
- 48:32Like, no question about it. If he can, you know, get two
- 48:36shots a game, Steve's like, I mean, that's, that's only get
- 48:40one or 4. So picker, yeah, but his hits.
- 48:44Are insane so I don't know keep an eye out whoever plays left
- 48:48wing there because I don't think you're gonna do I just wanna
- 48:50preface this he's. Playing again.
- 48:52I'm playing against Steve this week so he's about to pop off 5
- 48:56point game. OK, let's do some would you
- 49:00rathers everyone's favorite time of the day or the week?
- 49:05I guess I was looking forward to this one.
- 49:07But would you rather So for those new here, I prepare 5.
- 49:12Would you rathers one of every position, centre and left wing,
- 49:15right wing, defenseman, goalie. And I try to split the
- 49:19difference between my cohosts. I want them to both pick each
- 49:22player and try to find the line for where these guys are are
- 49:26valued right now and I do my best.
- 49:28So let's get started with the centre position.
- 49:32Hopefully you guys didn't peak. We've talked about this earlier,
- 49:35no peeking, but get your, get your, get your apps ready
- 49:39because we're talking about centres.
- 49:42We talked about this on the podcast already.
- 49:43A little bit foreshadowing, but would you rather Braden point or
- 49:48Roope Hintz Rest of season OHS. Now, Brayden.
- 49:53Point is a projection at this point.
- 49:55We we, we're very confident in the bounce back ability, but
- 49:58Rupe hints, kind of feel like the bird in the hand right now.
- 50:02OK, I'm going with I gotta go with rope.
- 50:05And actually we were told in the discord discord that it's rope.
- 50:09So I know that Rupee is more fun to say, but I'm going to try and
- 50:12pronounce it better from now on. So rope I gotta go with him.
- 50:16Honestly, my biggest knock against him in past years has
- 50:18been that he doesn't shoot and he doesn't win many face offs
- 50:21from the centre position. And then this year he decided
- 50:23I'm going to shoot and I'm going to win more faceoffs from the
- 50:25centre position. Tag that onto the fact that
- 50:27Dallas is just insane. His spot in the lineup is locked
- 50:30in locked and he's never losing power play 1.
- 50:32So I still fully believe in the Point resurgence, but it's just
- 50:37so much safer to go with Hints who like if Point researches to
- 50:41what we expect, he's still going to be pretty similar to Hints,
- 50:44whereas Hints is already doing it.
- 50:46So that's why I'm going with him.
- 50:49Me too, yeah. I I it feels obvious to go
- 50:53points just because he's been so much better in years past.
- 50:55But even if you look at the last season, average point had 1.06
- 50:59points and 2.45 shots. This season roof rope has one
- 51:05point per game and 2.6 shots, so like and better face offs.
- 51:10So it's just to me all around like, you know, his hits have
- 51:14not been horrible either. And it's just there's too much
- 51:18for point to have to like make up for it.
- 51:21And I don't know, I mean, not to mention the fact that Tampa Bay
- 51:24has been able to succeed pretty well without points.
- 51:28And I, I think what's going to happen is that he's not going to
- 51:31play with Kucherov because really, you don't think?
- 51:34Brian Points gonna play with control?
- 51:35No, I think I mean keep. Hagel and Cooch and then they're
- 51:38gonna put Denzel with with points, which is not bad.
- 51:40It's not bad at all. But to get to where Brayden
- 51:44point needs to be to be as elite as last year, like a point per
- 51:47game plus no brainer. I think you need to be with
- 51:50coach, whereas he's hints is doing that with Robertson right
- 51:54now. Yep, still makes pretty.
- 51:58Important to buy low. By the way, like he's yeah, he
- 52:01can wait. Where's the line for Britain?
- 52:02Point, then would you? Would you rather point or
- 52:05Sebastian Aho? I think I gotta.
- 52:11I gotta check out those stats. I have kind of a thing against
- 52:14Aho unfairly. But but yeah, it's just the rod
- 52:17stink, I think, I think. Yeah, I'm going.
- 52:20I'm going point over. Rahul, I think.
- 52:22It's close enough though, but like that's like it's like the
- 52:26same thing is like so Chloe has been .87 last month and .93 on
- 52:32the season. That's where he could get to
- 52:34point point. So Aho is already doing that and
- 52:36he has done it in years past, Mark.
- 52:39Shifley, I think I'm going chiefly.
- 52:43Yeah, shipley's been. Considerably better than
- 52:46everybody we've been talking about, yeah, but it's.
- 52:49What you expect rest of? Season everybody's better than
- 52:51Britain point Yeah, but but he's.
- 52:53Also, like, he was just as good as Point last year, yeah.
- 52:58OK, at least some points per game.
- 53:00So you have to give us one that we're gonna take point.
- 53:02Over the other guy, Kevin, I mean I I said I'd take him over
- 53:04Iho so, but you need to find one that Jean, I think I think I.
- 53:07Mean you guys think I'm crazy for suggesting this, but like,
- 53:09what about Josh Norris? Yeah, I'm digging point over
- 53:12Norris. Yeah, easily.
- 53:14Easily that Kevin. Kevin, you're such a.
- 53:16Biased like some of your guys, like it's like we all love.
- 53:22Loris. Loris seems like a.
- 53:23Cool dude but like it's not like I'm taking points over 100.
- 53:27You're talking about about all these other players.
- 53:30I was curious because I think I think Britain point is like a
- 53:32point per game player rest of season when he hits his stride,
- 53:34like whether this is as soon as he comes back or in a week or
- 53:37two. But I think Josh Norris is like
- 53:39a .8 per game per game player. And he'll get maybe, probably
- 53:43more shots. The face off wins are
- 53:45negligible. He'll get more hits.
- 53:47He'll probably get more blocks. Yeah, actually the shots are.
- 53:49Negligible too, and the blocks are negligible.
- 53:51I'd say Norris is only pro for points as the hits, but the
- 53:53points for point make up for it. OK, no pointer.
- 53:57To virus. I'm taking point.
- 54:00Yeah, I'm. Taking point as well.
- 54:02Same same. So that's, that's a nice kind of
- 54:05line. Yeah, that's a good one.
- 54:07Alright, Kevin, you're over one. What do you got next?
- 54:10Alright. This next one is spicy only.
- 54:12Kevin, Kevin, are you taking? Points or rope?
- 54:15I think I want point, but if I. Have rope, rope, I'm doing rope
- 54:18plus, I'm getting point plus or percent.
- 54:21You know what I mean? Like I, I do think rope value is
- 54:24higher right now, but I'm expecting him to come back down
- 54:27to earth. We know him to be two shots a
- 54:30game and .9 and I think point when he's hitting on all
- 54:34cylinders, he's a 1.1 points per game player and he'll get more
- 54:37shots than two. So it's just about how, how much
- 54:40are you willing to take the L in the short term for the W in the
- 54:44long term, for sure. All right #2 we'll talk on the
- 54:47left wing. Would you rather Seth Jarvis or
- 54:52Matthew Nyes rest of season? I think I gotta go with.
- 54:58A Matthew Nice and I love Jarvis.
- 55:01These are this is like two players I really, really like.
- 55:02But what noise is doing is just unbelievable.
- 55:06And The thing is that I don't want to harp on the whole rod
- 55:09thing because we know that Jarvis couldn't withstand that.
- 55:12But the fact is that Jarvis is playing what, line 3 right now.
- 55:15Like it's just it's just he keeps getting bumped and it
- 55:18doesn't necessarily affect his production.
- 55:19He's still going to produce because he's just a really
- 55:21incredible player. But noise is being like an
- 55:23almost like a triple triple like he's like doing like 2.5 shots,
- 55:262.5 hits over a point per game and the power play hasn't even
- 55:30started clicking yet. I know he's been getting bumped
- 55:32off and on of it, but like he's gonna be on it when it starts
- 55:34clicking. He's on it as of now and he's
- 55:36just what he's doing is unreal. And I mean if we're gonna keep
- 55:38patting ourselves on the back. We also talked about him a lot
- 55:40in the off season. This was more of an obvious one
- 55:42than Kiki, but but still. So see I'm going nice, but no
- 55:45shade to drive. I still think he's an amazing
- 55:47player. Yeah, same and.
- 55:49I have Jarvis, I like Jarvis a lot, but nice double double is
- 55:54nuts. I don't in a way because I think
- 55:57Caroline is letter and Rod is such a difficult coach to own
- 56:01players on his team for fantasy hockey.
- 56:03This makes it better to owe NYS because any offensive production
- 56:07Toronto is going to get, he's going to be a huge part of.
- 56:10Whereas Jarvis, it's like, yeah, he's immune to the Rod curse,
- 56:14but it's still such a bleep show over there as far as like who's
- 56:17getting points from where, Whereas Toronto is much more top
- 56:20heavy and is at the top with Matthews.
- 56:23So I'm going to also go nice here.
- 56:25Matthews hasn't even popped off. Yet this year, and like I said,
- 56:28the power plays nonexistent. So it's kind of crazy to say the
- 56:31guy was over a point per game, but I feel like he can still
- 56:33only go up from here. Yeah, but those.
- 56:36Are really. Like nice.
- 56:39No, I think the only question. For people were are they worried
- 56:43about the power play exposure? But the fact that he's able to
- 56:45average the amount of points that he's averaging without the
- 56:48power play just goes to show how important he is for this Maple
- 56:51Leafs team. And I mean, drivers was drafted
- 56:53significantly higher than him in almost every league, right?
- 56:56Like we touted NYS as you know, a candidate that we wanted to
- 57:00target in the drafts because we expected him his points to go up
- 57:03given the new deployment and also just the banger category
- 57:05coverage. We saw a glimpse of it last
- 57:07year. This year's full fledge out
- 57:08there. I I the he's he's actually 1.12
- 57:12points per game this season with 0.08 power play points.
- 57:16Yeah, those are like Brandon Hagel.
- 57:18Numbers. Literally it's.
- 57:20It's exactly Brandon Hagel numbers, except that he's
- 57:22actually on Power Play 1. So that's the that's the big
- 57:25difference there. I think it's definitely close
- 57:28though, because I think drivers has he he's just always good no
- 57:31matter where you where he plays, right.
- 57:33So I you do feel like you have a safe, a safe value there.
- 57:37And I don't think, I mean, at this point, you gotta bet on
- 57:40nice to hit a point per game at the end of the season, right?
- 57:42Like it, it just feels like it's it's meant to be at this point,
- 57:45even with the power play, positive regression.
- 57:47Like it just feels like he has so much wiggle room.
- 57:50Those drivers hit a point per game.
- 57:52I'm not sure. They're both gonna be around, I
- 57:55think. They both in his kids.
- 57:57I believe. In Neises hits more and probably
- 58:01safer to hit a point where game as well.
- 58:02So what if it was Genzel versus Nice?
- 58:07I think I'm still going. Nice, just for the extra hits.
- 58:12Yeah, I mean. Gentil will get slightly more
- 58:14shots but Nice will get significantly more hits and I
- 58:16don't see the points being that different but just because it's
- 58:19more power. Was going to say the power play
- 58:20points is actually a big a big thing for Gensel.
- 58:23So, OK, so. Maybe I will cancel because.
- 58:26Of the power play points, that's that's actually a big swing,
- 58:28You're right, yeah. Sam, close enough for me.
- 58:33Alright, let's touch on the right wing position.
- 58:35This one I feel like could be the most lopsided one out there.
- 58:38So I'm actually very curious. I just want to have the
- 58:40conversation here. But Josh Norris, I know he's not
- 58:42a right wing Josh Norris or Connor McDavid.
- 58:48Connor McDavid, obviously no recent.
- 58:52Recent. Bounce back candidate JT Miller
- 58:55or Willy Nielander Easy meal under for.
- 58:58Me. Hmm.
- 59:02I don't. I mean, wait, which way did you
- 59:06think that would be love sided? I'm caring.
- 59:08Everybody was gonna go Nylander. Yeah, this is.
- 59:12To me this is not even close. And this, I mean, to be fair,
- 59:15I'm a certified number one JT Miller hater fan, fan club
- 59:18hater, you know, but yeah, and I, I know JT had a solid week
- 59:21class. So we put up.
- 59:22Yeah, you did have a solid week. So is this.
- 59:23And he was the first round pick. So we're kind of like, OK.
- 59:26Or is he, is he finally putting it together?
- 59:27All the other Rangers are doing well.
- 59:29He's the only one missing. Nah, he's I feel.
- 59:31Like, I mean, look, I do think he's still a buy low.
- 59:33I think he's gonna have a solid season.
- 59:35But I think that Nylander is just the point.
- 59:38Like, so J Miller was drafted in the first round because of his
- 59:41back hats, which are really, really good, and the hope that
- 59:44he would jump from being like, you know, last year he was point
- 59:47per game to being like, let's say like something crazy, like
- 59:49100 points, something like that, Right?
- 59:50I think I'm very comfortable saying that's not happening.
- 59:53OK. Now it's like, can he even hit
- 59:55point per game? I think that's his ceiling
- 59:56points wise for the season. And I think he can.
- 59:59I think that's why he's a below. I think Nylander is easily going
- 1:00:01to be like 1.21.3 even on points per game.
- 1:00:05Really gets more. Yeah, I think he was at 1.04
- 1:00:09Nylander. Yeah.
- 1:00:10OK. But he has 1.5.
- 1:00:12Like a few weeks ago, I know he's slowed down, OK, maybe not,
- 1:00:14maybe not 1.3, but I'm confident he could be 1.2, OK.
- 1:00:17And then Nylander gets more shots than JT, so J's just got.
- 1:00:20And also, like, I know the power play hasn't even popped off yet
- 1:00:23for Toronto, but it's going to at some point it's gonna click.
- 1:00:27And look, I'm not expecting it to become the best power play in
- 1:00:29the league or anything like that, but that's just going to
- 1:00:31add on to his totals. I'm pretty confident comfortable
- 1:00:33going Neil under there. I don't.
- 1:00:36Come the playoffs, you'd rather kneel under on your team than T
- 1:00:39I mean, yes. I mean, it also depends on your
- 1:00:41like, leak settings and how your team is structured.
- 1:00:44JT can when you, you know, face off wins and hits on on his own
- 1:00:48in the playoffs, which is pretty nice.
- 1:00:50But Neil Anders gonna do way more for you for points.
- 1:00:52He's gonna do way more for you for shots.
- 1:00:54And yeah, no, I'm I'm easily going Nylander even with the
- 1:00:57playoff schedule. OK, I think.
- 1:00:59You're right, I think I've been convinced.
- 1:01:01But. I don't think it's that
- 1:01:02lopsided. Either I think it's definitely
- 1:01:06worth the question. I think I think JT has the
- 1:01:07underlying metrics and I think he still has room to grow.
- 1:01:10He was our first round pick for a reason and he's got a way
- 1:01:12better playoff schedule. Yeah, and you look.
- 1:01:15Like resurgence is do happen. Like up until a week ago,
- 1:01:20Talismanic. Players.
- 1:01:21Yeah, that is all. Well, yes, yeah, seriously, I I
- 1:01:25thought. For instance, like Sam Bennett,
- 1:01:27who I picked in the sixth round was the worst pick of all time
- 1:01:29and now he's insane. Like JT Miller's way better than
- 1:01:32Sam Bennett is. So I feel like if if you know,
- 1:01:35this could happen there, why can't it happen in New York,
- 1:01:39right? What's the playoff schedule?
- 1:01:41This is not so like that's why I'm thinking.
- 1:01:42But Willie's good. Like I actually like Neelah was
- 1:01:45great. If you ask Marner, I would take
- 1:01:48JT over Marner. I don't think I don't know where
- 1:01:51you stand. My alternative was.
- 1:01:52Reinhart or Nylander, I would take it and we'll.
- 1:01:56Move on to the next ones, but. Just give me your one.
- 1:01:57Yeah, 100 Nielander. I'm.
- 1:01:59Happy with them Over. Well, first of all, Nielander
- 1:02:02over Reinhart, I think. I think Nylander is really
- 1:02:04thinking, yeah. I'm going Lander as well.
- 1:02:07Oh, I thought you meant JT. It was gonna be Reinhardt
- 1:02:10versus. Dylan, there was my original 1
- 1:02:13Be in there. All right, let's.
- 1:02:17Talk defenseman now, OK. Would you rather?
- 1:02:20Matthew Schaefer or Seth Jones rest of season?
- 1:02:25Oh, that's a good one. I feel like I feel like to like
- 1:02:31most people, the obvious answer is Schaefer, right?
- 1:02:34He slowed down. I.
- 1:02:34Don't know that's. Question.
- 1:02:37To me. As the Jones owner, I think I'm.
- 1:02:41Going Jones and I. Know, like, I'm obviously biased
- 1:02:43and he's gone through stretches of being awful, right?
- 1:02:45But this Florida team seems really to be waking up.
- 1:02:48He has throughout all the thick and thin of the season, he has
- 1:02:50never lost power. Play one.
- 1:02:52There's been so many changes every forward, I think other
- 1:02:55than Reinhart. No, I know, but I'm saying like
- 1:02:58like Jones has powerfully unlock just like Shaffer does.
- 1:03:01But what are the power play on defence in on Florida or the
- 1:03:04power on defence on the Islanders?
- 1:03:05Give me Florida. No question.
- 1:03:07Matthew could. Chuck is on the verge of coming
- 1:03:09back for me. For me it's Jones.
- 1:03:11Cat coverage wise, they're both really good shooters.
- 1:03:13I'll give the edge to to Shafer on shots and then back at like
- 1:03:17hits and blocks. I'll give the edge to Jones, but
- 1:03:18it's not like it's that big of a difference.
- 1:03:20But I just, I like the power play one quarterback on Florida
- 1:03:23more than Islanders, Yeah. The the difference has been
- 1:03:27split. I'm going Shaver, you said so.
- 1:03:31High oil ago. Not getting yeah, but and I
- 1:03:33double checked. That was week 4 and Jones is not
- 1:03:37one of the targets so I feel OK about this but but.
- 1:03:40All this. To say, I think that the reason
- 1:03:43I would go Schaefer here is because they just like the the
- 1:03:47whole purpose of this organization is to make him
- 1:03:49good. So you know, we I am still a
- 1:03:53firm believer purpose is to win. No, I'm with JK.
- 1:03:56On this, it's no, it's literally it's.
- 1:03:58Literally to make him good like there, I don't think there gonna
- 1:04:01be a playoff team and I think like like it will come in waves,
- 1:04:04but it's gonna average out to being more useful than Jones.
- 1:04:09And so far as like right now they're third in the
- 1:04:12metropolitan, which is pretty insane.
- 1:04:14They're ahead of the Rangers, Pittsburgh and Devils.
- 1:04:16Like get out of town. I don't think that's going to
- 1:04:18stick, but I still I still think that they're gonna like do
- 1:04:21everything possible to keep feeding him in the opportunities
- 1:04:24as shots blocks are similar to Jones.
- 1:04:28Yeah, I just, I like it. I like it a lot.
- 1:04:30I think like they're gonna really try to make him the best,
- 1:04:34one of the best defensemen in the NHL in like 2-3 years.
- 1:04:36And this year is just about building his confidence and, you
- 1:04:39know, that's it. So I'm going to go shaver.
- 1:04:42It's the difference to me, this comes down to the very similar
- 1:04:48and I think I want to bet on the one who I believe the PowerPoint
- 1:04:52will be better long term and that's why I'm going Jones.
- 1:04:54So yeah, that's, yeah, that's. Fair you hate me but.
- 1:04:59Listen, I hope you. Listen to us when the wind
- 1:05:00Shaffer was a cell high earlier in the season because, listen,
- 1:05:04he was popping off. And obviously he's a great
- 1:05:05player. But whenever you have the
- 1:05:07opportunity to tear up, it's just a reminder.
- 1:05:08Like these guys do come back down to earth.
- 1:05:10Like no matter how good you think they're going to be, they
- 1:05:12always come back down to earth. And yeah, all right, the boat
- 1:05:16goes down both. Doesn't come down sometimes.
- 1:05:18Bob becomes rocket ship as well. So all right, Dan tackling the
- 1:05:23goalie position. This is a spicy one because we
- 1:05:25heard some trade rumors, but would you rather Stuart Skinner
- 1:05:28or Trustees Jari? Rest of season, everything.
- 1:05:32About This is horrible, you know, I just want to say what I
- 1:05:38drafted Skinner. You were like, I think he's
- 1:05:40useless. And then that's not what
- 1:05:42eventually, no. This is a classic.
- 1:05:44Kevin, Jake. He gets in your head, Kevin's
- 1:05:46like, oh, Pickard's gonna be the starter.
- 1:05:48Skinner sucks, JK believe you drafted him.
- 1:05:50Meanwhile in his head, he's like, damn, I wish I had gotten
- 1:05:52him. And then the second you dropped,
- 1:05:53he snaps him up and he's like, Skinner is the best goalie in
- 1:05:55the world. I can't believe you, Trump.
- 1:05:57Told this is fake news I remember what was true.
- 1:06:01What Jake dropped the Skinner. I literally told him I was
- 1:06:03planning on dropping him the same round that he took him.
- 1:06:05Like you also said that you thought picked was gonna.
- 1:06:06Take the starting job, and I know you didn't actually think
- 1:06:08that you're like that like the locker room loves.
- 1:06:11Him. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:06:12Yeah. Talking about Wedgewood because
- 1:06:15The Long Room doesn't Wedgewood. No, you were talking about
- 1:06:18Picard. It was, yeah, it was horrible.
- 1:06:20It was this was Listen I didn't expect.
- 1:06:22Picard to be awful on the ice listen, you have to reevaluate
- 1:06:25part of being a good fantasy analyst is reevaluating your
- 1:06:28takes and Skinner is the best goal in the league right now so
- 1:06:31good friend doesn't it's. Not hating on your friend's
- 1:06:34draft picks and then when they dropped them, picking them up
- 1:06:38and then offering me for him to me for peanuts.
- 1:06:41Actually, no, it was not. Peanuts.
- 1:06:45I forgot the. Trade.
- 1:06:46All this to say, Skinner right now to me is is obviously on a
- 1:06:51bit of a hot streak and he's playing well.
- 1:06:54I wouldn't call it a hot streak. I think he's playing well
- 1:06:57compared to whatever streak. Does for the rest of the play.
- 1:07:01It feels. Like really intense, like he's.
- 1:07:03Won two out of three games and you know and go watch started
- 1:07:07streak. Yeah, yeah, that's good.
- 1:07:09In his past. 5 starts, he was over 98 percentage in all of
- 1:07:12them and he had a shutout in A95958 in two different games.
- 1:07:17He's ridiculous. So obviously he's been good.
- 1:07:20Jerry's also been on a tear so these to me are like 2 goalies
- 1:07:24who are bad playing on actually decent teams and where in real
- 1:07:29life they might get. Treated for each other, Yeah, I
- 1:07:32like. I like Edmonton better, so I'm
- 1:07:34gonna go Skinner. That's honestly the truth, but I
- 1:07:38think they're both bad. Was very think of you taking.
- 1:07:40Yeah, see, listen, hear that viewers like Jakey, even though
- 1:07:46it breaks his heart to say it, he will still give you the best
- 1:07:48fantasy advice that he can. And I also agree with the with
- 1:07:51the Skinner over Jerry. But I will say I'm not buying
- 1:07:53the Skinners all of a sudden the best girl in the world.
- 1:07:55I think it's only a matter of time before he puts you multiple
- 1:07:59times by text to Jakey trying to wear him down and ruin his life.
- 1:08:03But. I'm just like I.
- 1:08:06Just can't wait for Kevin to get skinned, that's all I'm going to
- 1:08:08say. It's gonna happen and he's going
- 1:08:10to put up a .500 and torpedo his whole goalie stats for the week
- 1:08:13and Kevin's going to be like shocked Pikachu face and me and
- 1:08:16you are gonna be laughing face I.
- 1:08:17Am I know that that that is one of the outcomes?
- 1:08:21No, but. Right now I am going Skinner

- 1:08:34That's what I'm saying. Skinner and Josh Norris.
- 1:08:38No. Damn Jackie, don't fleece him.
