- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: I am more if here for I can be Chris is the the statistical mountain a number guy, but I'm just for the ladies who bad you're not wearing your orange shirt because we could definitely call you that won't balloon But do you purposely leave that light on for us all the time is that what's going on here?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, okay.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: We're in a studio where we do Chris a show, which is, by the way, called new and music role right here on the rise.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: Now work is a great show if you like country music, anything about country music, everything about country music, or stuff you didn't even know about country music.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: You got to listen to Chris smiles, uh, new and music role on the rise.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: Now work at airs, uh, if you Friday, right?
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's a very kind of you.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, we're celebrating a year as a year.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: One whole year.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow will be a year since we actually, the 25th is a year.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: But tomorrow will be a year since we did all of our episodes.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I still have a little time to get you something.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: yeah like a hot pocket maybe yeah or maybe the maybe maybe pay up on the Oscar picks bet that you lost but anyway so yeah welcome to the show folks thank you guys so much for listening uh... when are we gonna be a year i didn't keep track of that but uh... anyway i'll look at that and we'll figure it out we're our years got to be what i was getting close to it i thought it was junish
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: ours has to be close well actually you know what i can go back and look at the very so we were the first movie were viewed with superman so that would have been like juneish late june of last year so we're getting close you're absolutely right all right but this is what we do on the show every single week we talk about the movies that are coming out this weekend
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: We give you a review of the movie that we watched last week for movies that came out last week, and then we've got like a little special topic to talk about And this week that topic is soundtracks whether they worked or not or didn't work or worked at all or whatever I also promised that I gave you some tidbits where the soundtrack actually did better than the movie and I found some interesting jumps
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we'll go over that now.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: I do rise.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now the first thing I have to say is I apologize.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: I was sick.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I did not get to see Lee Kronen's the mummy, unfortunately.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, however, we did go see a different movie.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I have another movie to review outside of the mummy.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: You say we,
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, my friend and I went to go see them with a different movie over the weekend because we heard about it from somebody else And we were like, oh, I got to go see this.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: I will say this I'm I'm looking forward to review to see if it's anything like what I thought of when I saw the preview for this movie Because I'll tell you I after watching the preview I was kind of like really
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Also, it seems that last week, I had some information that may or may not have been correct.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Mother Mary was supposed to have come out last week, but I looked through my research again, and it looks like maybe it didn't come out last weekend, and it's coming out this week.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not 100% sure.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: But I think a movie called Mother Mary would come out around Easter.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well seem to fit perfectly.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Greakyster was a couple of weeks ago, so I guess they're close to that.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're as Greakyston.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of that, movies that work this week or movies that are coming out this week, whether or not they work is a different story.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: The first and of course, probably the one that's got the biggest hype around it for multiple reasons.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: The first and of course, being that it's the Michael Jackson biopic or biopic, is that biopic?
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that's coming out.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, the biggest news about that is that Jermaine Jackson's son, Michael's nephew is playing Michael in the, yeah.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_03]: There's a really long.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the biggest news of that.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's not much you don't know, but Michael.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it'd be fun to watch because of the dancing in the music, but I don't know that there's in a whole lot you're going to learn about Michael Jackson at this point.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's a whole group of people in the younger age range that listen to our show that didn't grow up with Michael Jackson like you and I did.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you technically were already grown up.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: But then they wouldn't even know who Michael Jackson was.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: So what's the point?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_03]: I think they know who Michael Jackson is.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a big enough, I think his name is big enough.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: You say MJ, you got Michael Jackson, you got Michael Jordan.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't say MJ, I said Michael Jackson.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: You said MJ, which is, and I purposely didn't say MJ for that reason because yes, we also grew up in the Michael Jordan era and he used to be called MJ.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_03]: I never called Magic Johnson and I got a friend in Mickey Girarsky and what the high school with who's MJ.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, anyway And now for Mark a blue he uses information About people you know that are named MJ.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna be a good I want to school with a girl named Mary Johnson, so she's an MJ as well then then the
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, he's in Spider-Man.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was about to say then, of course, there's the MJ from Spider-Man.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, let's get back on the topics since we've veered off.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: So why would we want to borrow?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe to do a show.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really do that.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: All right, up next is fuse.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, fuse looks kind of interesting.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: I will fuse F-u-z-e-e like the fuse of a bomb like the short one that I have every time I'm with you.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: Fuge features Sam Worthington, Theo James, uh, and David McKenzie.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's setting contemporary London, and, uh, it unfolds after, uh, an explosion of some sort of unexplored World War II bomb.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: unexploded roadward to a bomb is actually under at the busy construction site and it forces a massive citywide evacuation And then stuff goes down.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: It look kind of interesting.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think people are gonna want to go see it more than Michael
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: But who knows, and then last but not least when we talked about Mother Mary because I guess now maybe it's gonna be in theaters So there's that We talked more about that last week, so if you want a more insight on that you can check it out and then also on Netflix Netflix only release Apex this looks really interesting and that where the coyote got all this stuff from no no that's Acme
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And you're thinking loony tunes, right?
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not real life.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's a cartoon.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: We did that.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we did that last week Here you are again talking about animations.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the topic today is not animations.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, all right So apex is about a woman testing her limits in the Australian wilderness when she suddenly Insnered a deadly game with a ruthless predator
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like a game of cat and mouse or hunt and sight and see whatever.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I did that.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Eric Bannis stars in it.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Charlize Theron is in it.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to butcher this guy's name, but I think it's Teron Ederton.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was also in a couple.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now I know him from the Kingsman movies.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: He played he was in those and then I also know him from he was in a version of Robin Hood
- 7:50[SPEAKER_03]: As a matter of fact, and I think I probably saw that one 2018 yeah, I saw a bad version of Robert Hayward there's something that have been horrendous.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was okay.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't compare to the original with Earl Flynn.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was yeah, we know it was him Jamie Foxx.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, yeah, I saw it.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: It was okay.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: It was a fact that they had a one arm from them mistaken.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's exactly who it was.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, those are the movies coming out this week.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't talk about this before the show, but I'm suggesting that we watch Apex and stay away from Michael unless you want to go see Michael and then review it.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, you can review fused if you want, but I don't know.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking Apex is probably going to be the way to go this week.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's on Netflix, so, you know, unless, of course, there's something else that you have in mind.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: Mr.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: Predator, is it another person?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: The Predator.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the Predator is played by, we're talking about Apex works just so, you know, since we've gone off the topic again.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: Could have been an alien.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: No, I didn't say Predator, I said Apex.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: You said she got pursued by your Predator.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: a ruthless predator right right do you change in the subject once again as you always predator yes played by tarim or taran adjutant he's the okay he's the guy well he can be afraid of him yeah I don't know
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: You watch the trailer.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: You should have watched the trailer beforehand because in the trailer he looks really good.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: He actually reminded me of What's that movie with the guy who played?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think Professor X in the newer versions like days of future past and all that kind of stuff James?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, man, what is his name?
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get nailed on this no or not because I'm about to think I'm about to look it up while we're talking too late We're really not it's not to a it's not to late James McAvoy is his name so cool.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: There we go Mr. Bear can't say nothing.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay It needs to be very he reminds me of James McAvoy in the movie the split
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: The way he plays like that psychotic craziness, that that same psychotic craziness was on Ederton's face when I watch the previous so I think it's gonna be really good.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna say this That's the movie that I'm gonna review.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna leave it up to you about what will you want to view because I could see if you look on your face That you're not interested in
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think I'll go to fuse.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do that.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: We do one each because I love historical stuff and this sounds like it's got some historical I mean there might be bombs planted all over the world for all we know I mean we just found out recently those mines in the street of Hormuz for Christ's sake.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so I'll go do fuse.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_03]: I like those kind of period kind of pieces It's not a period piece though.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I said in front they're gonna they're gonna talk about the bombs the bombs are from opposite from more or two
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think you're going a little further than it needs to go like in much the same way that you thought that that movie that we saw that was absolutely Atrocious about that guy from Indianapolis where you were like, oh, but El Puccino's in it So it's gonna be a great movie in El Puccino's in the movie for like three minutes
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you're going there again.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's a, yes, the bomb is from World War II, but the movie takes place like now.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't think there's going to be much history in it.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think if anything, there's probably going to be like, I'm trying to figure out how to diffuse the bomb.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'll go see Michael then.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm going to go see Michael too, but I don't know when I don't know if I'm going to see it before we do the next episode.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: I can do it.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_03]: I can do a date because there's probably want to see it.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go see my go.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'll go see Michael.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so you're review Michael next week and I will review Apex.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's what we're going to do next week.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got a bonus.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: A two for.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: A two for one.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Next week for you as well.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_03]: You've got to pay extra for that.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, that's why this podcast is free.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to pay extra for anything.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of that, let's move on to the movies that we're going to review this week.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: So we talked about going to go see Lee Crohn's The Mummy, and unfortunately I flaked and didn't go see it.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: But that's because I wasn't feeling well.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: So you saw it.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think of it?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: Well, here's my review.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: He laughed already.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_03]: All right, first of all, I can't wait.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_03]: I go way back to the board's car law of Mummy Days.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know that anybody was a better mummy than Boris Carloff in terms of purely playing the creature.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the Brendan Fraser mummy series was great because of the effects it caught up where you could have the guy become sand and all this other stuff.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: This is nowhere near either of those.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: In fact,
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it should be called the mummy personally.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: The home movie is Gore for Gore's sake only.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_03]: And it didn't really, I mean, it didn't work.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes, you know, a movie not being like the original is great.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like we just, we reviewed one like that.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: That we said it wasn't anything like the original.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_03]: We really liked that about it.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I forgot which one it was.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: Do you recall?
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: We both liked that it wasn't like the original.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they took a whole different angle on it.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_03]: They use a little girl in this movie.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the running man.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: running man yeah um you didn't see that I saw that use other but you said it was different in the original and that's what you liked about it but I saw oh uh which one was it I can't remember now they didn't anyway that's okay anyway they use a little girl in this that unlike the actresses where that kind of works this really was like
- 13:43[SPEAKER_03]: way out of left field.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_03]: The cinematography was not great.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_03]: The acting was sea level of bets.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know who was in it.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_03]: At one point, the lead actor reminded me of Seth Rogan, but I don't think it was Seth Rogan.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_03]: The soundtrack, because we're going to have a soundtrack today.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_03]: The soundtrack was so overpowering.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_03]: When something was going to happen, the soundtrack would hit, you know, you get that in horror movies, obviously.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: But this was like way over the top for me.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: The whole concept I thought was really, really bad.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_03]: And there was a point about a little over halfway through where I was like, I think I'm going to leave.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: And my mind said, you got to see how this finishes.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm really sad that I stayed to see how it finished.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_03]: Because the finish was probably worse than anything else in the movie.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_03]: Again, just gore for gore.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: There were points in this movie where it was what was happening on the screen was so outrageous and not in a thriller way, like the mummy or in a, wow, that's really cool CGI way,
- 14:59[SPEAKER_03]: So some guy threw out a comment, I couldn't understand what he said, but it's something happened in the guy threw a comment down, everybody in the theater laughed.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's, here's, the movies about, involves a family, it's not just one or two people like the French, Brendan Fraser movies, involves a family that's involved with this mummy person thingy creature.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: This is, in my opinion, the dumbest family since the family in jaws one, two, and three.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_03]: To quote my good friend and God rest his soul,
- 15:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I can't think of his name.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my goodness, he's a comic that passed away, sadly.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_03]: But he did a whole bit on joys.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_03]: And he said, he talked about how this family was, the joys family was dumb.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: Because they're being killed, chastened, killed by a shark.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: So what do they do?
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: They move to an island, which is surrounded by water.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: And he says, good.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_03]: Moving to a second floor apartment itself, the problem.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: That's what this is.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: This family is really stupid.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's really a stupid family.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if you're into Gorgorg or like chainsaw massacre and those saw those kind of movies, this is your movie.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_03]: If you think you're going to go see something anywhere close to the time, to the storyline of the mummy, the Egyptian folklore, legendary creature kind of thing, you're not going to get it.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_03]: And this is being generous, I would give it a four out of ten.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_03]: And that's being really, I'm giving the fourth to the popcorn because it was really fresh actually.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_03]: So I think I'm going to give this a two, but I'm going to make it a four because the popcorn was some of the pressure popcorn I've ever had and they let me put extra salt in it.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_03]: So that's my review totally disappointed in this.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_03]: I was looking forward to and you know we talked about how this was being touted as a different version of the mummy and I thought good this would be great.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I I've seen the Brendan Fraser movies.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: I saw the originals back in the day it's nice to see something different.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: This ain't anywhere, if you're a mummy fan, if you're a fan of the genre of the mummy, this you're not gonna like this.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: And there you have it, folks.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, it was great.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: From the preview, I realized it wasn't gonna be anything like anything.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: And when I saw the girl, because they do show her in the preview, I just kinda went, oh my God, this looks so stupid.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: And on that note, that's so, just from watching the preview alone, I was gonna give it like maybe a three-at-best.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, because I was just like, okay, if there's any sort of story in here, then maybe it would be worth it, but just the preview itself.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just went, yeah, not interested and you know, I I didn't watch the preview until after we talked about it and I think that's one of the things we need to do now.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think what we should do is when I put together the list of the movies that are coming out, I think both you and I should watch the previews beforehand.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: so that we can get an idea in case we haven't seen them because sometimes we don't get to see some of these previews because of the movies that we watch.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then they give you a specific set of previews and I got a very interesting set of previews for my movie.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Did you get the new Spider-Man movie before the Mummy by any chance?
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't doubt it.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Did you get the new super girl movie before?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, I got both of those.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't remember the other two because they were just kind of like, okay, that's kind of cool.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so I didn't think it was going to be very good.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm glad I didn't see it.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't think I probably would have rated it less than a two.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: I should have left half way through and got my five dollars.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there you go.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: Because we should have done that.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: A really good friend of mine, whose name is Sean.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Sean.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: He is a, he's a big fan of the movie theater that we like.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: Not the movie theater we like to go to, but the brand.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: Is that cinema?
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the one?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: So he, yeah, so he's a really good.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: He loves cinema.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: So much so that him and his wife who are now empty nusters, they have one of those movie past things.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: But what they have is, I didn't bother to ask him which one he has, but he's got one where maybe they get two movies a month for free, but then they get a mystery movie.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm intrigued now by this whole setup because they get a mystery movie.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: And the mystery movie is a movie that's coming out soon.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you don't know exactly when, but it's coming out soon.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: So they get to see these movies beforehand.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm thinking maybe you and I should think about this, because I think we should go talk to the cinema people and see if they want to sponsor the show and get that.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's that too.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, you were there last night.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: You could have done it, but you know, instead you decided to sit through the whole mummy movie.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, the cinema was a kid named Roy who didn't even look my ticket.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, did he scan your phone or did you actually buy a ticket?
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like you went to the window and bought it on the school.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: I paid $5 and okay, all right, there you go, I'm going to take care.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so my buddy Sean was like, oh my god, this is so good, and I think his wife's name is Oh, I can't remember his wife's name now.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I can't know it's not Sean of the dead.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember his wife's name now and now they're both going to kill me But anyway, the funny thing about them is people who sit us
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, but here's the funny thing.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Him and his wife and you and your wife share kind of like the same thing.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get into it in a little bit.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: You have your wife is like, oh my God, Jesus Christ, right?
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing, she says.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, his wife said something during the movie, the whole time when he was doing whatever, and we'll get to it.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you're gonna laugh hysterically.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of laughing hysterically, that is what you're gonna be doing during this movie.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the part that's gonna kill you.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: I saw normal.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, um, should do what I wanted to say.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, yes, but here's the thing Here's why I'm reviewing it.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: Here's why I'm talking about it.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: I hope
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: that it goes to nationwide release because it's that good, okay, you saw it as one of his mystery.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, after we talked to him, I wish I could remember his wife name, but we saw Sean and his wife over the weekend, and he was like, you have to go see this movie.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I know he's like, I love cheesy popcorn.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: I listen to all the time.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_03]: You were a senior.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because he was because it was part of that mystery movie.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: So they actually saw it.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: before they saw it like the previous Monday okay so before it was even released like even in the limited theater now we were lucky enough that we got we got it here in the Chicago land area and I think it's more so because if it's a it's a testing could also be because we're in the Midwest and this movie set in a town called normal which doesn't exist in Minnesota by the way but that's where it is normal Minnesota there's a normal Illinois which we'll get to that in a second but there I don't believe there's a normal
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Going back to the normal thing, this movie was shown in normal Illinois beforehand.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think there was like a test don of it, just to see what the people in normal thought of it.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, apparently they liked it because apparently they decided to go farther with it.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to tell you what, this is a movie you should not be laughing at.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you shouldn't be laughing.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if somebody who believes that seeing somebody get shot in the head is not funny,
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing, you're looking at me like, what in the hell is this guy talking about?
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing, this honestly should be labeled like a dark comedy and this is why I'm gonna say it.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: The movie and the plot of this movie is completely ridiculous, completely ridiculous, but it's hilarious at the same time.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: It takes so many twists and so many turns that you're just kind of like oh, I didn't see that coming, but it makes sense and then you laughing your ass off.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's the reason why you're laughing your ass off.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're laughing your ass off because Bob Odin Kirk plays the lead role.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: He plays a sheriff.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's like an interim sheriff because the previous sheriff was killed.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, maybe people didn't see the position like nobody all over again.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's sort of in a weird kind of way.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, but it's not.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a special agent.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's not trained.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a mission that he sent.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, it's not it's not a mission.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: He sent on.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's none of that stuff.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: But along the way he learns enough about the people and about the stuff that happened Henry Winkler's in it by the way He plays the mayor.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: He plays the mayor of the town.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's completely funny.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's in it for more than 30 seconds So I do have to say sorry because I said that last week.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: I said I said you were a beat up a chino That's for sure But the best part is and I'm sorry.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is a spoiler alert.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: He gets his head blown off
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: with with one of them killed us with one of them big old like Kind of guns.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I forget what they're called, but it is so funny the way that this stuff goes down and the way the violence goes down You laugh hysterically now here.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're not a date movie for my at least for note for you know because she's gonna be like Oh my god, and and what's the other thing she says oh my Jesus Christ my friend Donna says Jesus Christ.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay I'll do oh my god, okay.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well anyway, she's more religious
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: got it.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: The movie is completely hysterical.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely funny.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great like removal from reality kind of thing.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: The reason why it's funny is because stuff just doesn't happen.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like why would there be over $17 million in a bank?
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: in a small pothunk town that is connected.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, this whole thing's a spoiler alert, but you kind of see it in the previews.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's connected to the Yakuza.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: So there's the idea of the whole movie.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's so out there and so just crazy and wild that the stuff that happens, you can't help it laugh at.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's just people.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: I would bet you 75% of people in America don't know what the Yakuza is.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're the Chinese mafia.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there we go.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: So not now.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: And now it gave it to anyway, Odin Kirk's hilarious in it.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yes, there were some bits and pieces of the way he was in normal.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but you know what it works.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: It just it just works.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's hysterical.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, people get their heads blown off and all kinds of other violence happens And you end up laughing at it because it's like so ridiculous that this is going on that you're just like, oh my god, it's too funny.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: The movie was great.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: A ton of fun.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give it like a seven and a half.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it was very, it was great.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: The cinematography.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, I don't know how
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: and how many different ways you can see blood spatter across the screen.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: There is a lot of violence, so it's not kitty friendly at all.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: It is rated R, so that's the other thing.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what, I was laughing, myself and some of the other people in this movie theater were laughing their butts off.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: hysterically the movies that could and it's it's definitely a go see if it was if we were back in the days of DVDs and that kind of stuff this would be one of those that I would put on my list for the day that it came out I would buy it so that it's in my collection it's that funny here's what I'm gonna end with normal is not normal
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's really what it pulls down to it's fun.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a ton of fun.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'd go see it with you Like if you want to go see it, I'd go see it with you because I'd go see it again That's how much fun I had and that's how great it is and I promise I won't be like oh here it comes here comes I won't do any of that stuff.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: I can't I won't I won't because I just can't because I want to see you I want to see if you laugh just as much as I laugh throughout this whole movie great movie go see it Normal starring Bob Oden Kirk who else is in it?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right, well, yeah, but I'm talking about people with bigger parts and Henry Rinkler.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Ryan Allen and Billy McClennan is in it as well.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the ones who are these given the top billing.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting note Bob Oren and Kirk did also produce this movie as well too, so that was kind of cool.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: And it's got a great soundtrack, a great nod to some of the older classic songs and the best part, okay.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, I wish you could remember the name of the song.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: So the best part is during like the one of the biggest violence part violent violent movies of the thing There's a jukebox at this place that they're all at and they're having dinner And the jukebox goes in place like fooled around and fell in love or something and while that's playing all this violence is going
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: let's screen so there gives that gives you an idea about the craziness that happens in this movie anyway it sounds like a kind of a pulp fiction kind of look it's got some pulp fiction in the in certain scenes there's opposite things it's got some pulp fiction ask vibes to it for sure yeah um it doesn't have the same it's not the same like okay this is what happened and then now let me tell you the story it doesn't it doesn't do that like pulp fiction does okay
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Or even like Terrence Jr. does in most of his movies, but anyway, go see it.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's great, you know, and if you don't see it before it comes on on cable, maybe she'll be sure watching on cable because it's it's hilarious.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's a ton of fun.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_03]: All right, so soundtracks.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of that and soundtracks, like I said, normal soundtrack works really well for it, but I have a feeling the movie is going to do better than the soundtrack.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you know, older older nostalgic songs and that kind of stuff, which kind of took you back, so to speak.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: but yes, so speaking of soundtracks, I've got a couple of my picks as well, and then I've also got that list of movies where the soundtrack actually did better than the movie itself.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: And one of these I cannot believe, although looking over the list of who's featured like the bands and the artists that are featured on this soundtrack, I kind of go, yeah, okay, I can see that.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, okay, so I'll do my top three for me.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have more than three?
- 28:26[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I have a top 10.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: I have the top 10.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: from time magazine but I don't agree with all of them.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: So I just did mine.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, there's one on here I do agree with is the two on here.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_03]: The bodyguard is one of them.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not ranking them.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think the bodyguard soundtrack is and it's amazing because Whitney Houston was, I don't know what planet she came from but she's just, you know, this is, this was like a alien that came to earth.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you give us a gift.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember that book,
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: Mana from Mars, Mana from Venus, so she's from Venus.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: What should you give me from Venus?
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: It could be from Saturn.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know for sure.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure she's from Venus.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_03]: Where are gay guys from Uranus?
- 29:10[SPEAKER_03]: No, that's Uranus, not mine.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: You don't have to cut that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm leaving.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, I also like the soundtrack for Greece.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: You should make it a clip.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: I thought Greece was good.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_03]: The soundtrack for Greece is not a bad song in there.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's the word.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: But...
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: My, I'm gonna, again, I'm not putting one, two, three.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just, it should be on here and it's not, it's the soundtrack from the greatest showman.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_03]: And then I have what I looked up was the top 10 best selling soundtracks.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I was kind of surprised at some of the song, the soundtracks on here, there were the top selling.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's wait for that.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do that after I do my thing.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if my list compares to that list.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll go from there.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so those are your three.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Those are my three.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, funny.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: One of your three is actually where the soundtrack did better than the movie.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that's interesting.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so I'm not...
- 30:12[SPEAKER_03]: I guess that's great to show them.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get there in a second.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right, first and foremost, and again, these are a no particular order.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: This one is more or so just because of it's a movie that was like when I grew up and in my childhood, and I listened to the soundtrack front to back, non-stop, and it's top-gun, the original top-gun soundtrack.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: Did the movie do better?
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: Was the soundtrack all that great?
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: There was a couple of great songs on it, but you know what?
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: Being a kid growing up in that era,
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: and trying to be like Maverick and all that kind of stuff.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: I played that in the background, and I was like trying to be Joe Kool and that kind of stuff.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great soundtrack.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Miami saw machine is on there.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: Can't he log me this on there a couple of times?
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's some great stuff in there as well.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, who could forget, you know, take my breath away as well.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_03]: So just to interject, I picked my three.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: based on whether they move the story along as well too.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: Not just it was a great song by a great group.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: So if it might grease bodyguard and create a showman, they all were
- 31:18[SPEAKER_03]: They were like a quilt that all worked together to make the movie great.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: And two of those are musicals, which rely on the music to move the story.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: Well, there are three really musicals in a way.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_03]: Bodyguard is kind of a musical.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, the, you know, the sometimes you have a, you have really great songs in a movie, but it doesn't really move the movie along.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a little background shit while they're driving through the desert.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to sit here and tell me that every time danger is on plate and top gone, it didn't do something for you.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I could tell by the look on your face, it wasn't about moving the story belongs about movies There's a great soundtrack, whether or not they move the story a look and and who Who does it get and then you're talking about musicals and we're in completely different subject Yes, absolutely my top three were musicals you did not have one that was a drama or a Western I thought you were gonna pull out like good the bad in the ugly or something like that
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: So you pick three musicals and therefore that's the way you're looking at it, and that's fine But I can sit here and make an argument for every single song from all these soundtracks How they move the move if you want a soundtrack that's not a musical that moved the the story line Then I would go I I didn't want to go old school on you because you always say I do then I'd go to the soundtrack for Psycho Okay, but you have to go in there every musical moment in that movie move the story line.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're coming at it from the angle of the soundtrack moves the story line.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coming from the angle of the soundtrack enhances the storyline, make something of it, or pumps you up, or gives you some sort of emotion or whatever.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: And that's another thing that soundtrack should do with.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: They should move the movie along, but they should also provide some background noise, so that when things are happening, you're kind of like, okay, yeah.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: and I'm sure there's a ton of people from my generation who when they listen to this episode will agree with me just like they disagreed with you about your whole Michael Keaton Batman thing and say, oh yeah, danger zone, well, that's fine.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's entitled to their own dumb stupid opinion, but that's all that matters.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_03]: And you still think Michael Keaton was a good Batman, go watch Beetlejuice, and now you're then watch Batman.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: And they have, and they've all come back and they've said, yeah, for 10 seconds, I want to see a comment about that.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: And they have all said for 10 seconds,
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'll bring I'll bring no it was 10 seconds the only thing in that movie that he did that was Beetlejuice ass was in the middle of that scene and that's the only thing you've ever said You have never said that was something else Beetlejuice scene and that's and that's one scene in the whole movie That's it
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'll bring the guy who has actually sent to me.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'll bring him in here.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do a three men in the microphone kind of thing and bring him in here and tell you how wrong you are about your opinion, whatever.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, now I don't give you grief over your opinions, but you give me grief about my opinions all the time.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_03]: I just interjected.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_03]: No, you give my three.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: And that's fine.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_03]: Now you're done.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_03]: But you're opening this, I like your, I said I like the talk.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: But then you said no, but then you said oh, but it didn't move in the movie along.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: All my time was the movie along.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_03]: Both went to different directions.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's fine.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: And that's okay.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_03]: We shouldn't go too different.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: The next one is casino because I'm going to move this forward speaking of moving things along.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_03]: Good soundtrack for casino.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Give it a go.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Does it not move the story along?
- 34:27[SPEAKER_03]: It works with the scenes.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't necessarily move the.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: If you didn't have those particular songs in casino,
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: that movie would be boring it could still work now the movie would be boring there's specific music for specific scenes for specific purposes to bring out a specific emotion and a specific thing I have to watch it again you watch it again I want to make sure you watch it the two DVD version too because I have that one but anyway all right up next lost voice
- 35:00[SPEAKER_03]: I forgot about Lost Boys.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: That was a great move.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: That was a great vampire move.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: A great vampire move.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great soundtrack and great songs throughout it.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite song, of course, is Cry Little Sister, that's my favorite song from that whole album.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: Although there's some great stuff on there as well.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: And last but not least, and if you sit here and you try to tell me that this soundtrack did not move the movie along, then you sir are wrong, a Bronx Tale.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, one of my favorite movies, by the way, Bronx.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, yeah, that did, that did.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_03]: That did move, yeah, that wasn't just background music.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_03]: That was good, this is, and there's some great stuff in there.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_03]: Um, believe, even though it's a gangster movie, there's some good morality in there too, which is weird.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_03]: So, it's fun to see the neural not be the gangster.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_03]: So, there you go, anyway.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_03]: I like your four.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't disagree that you see I I we look at things differently and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're in each and title to our own different view on things and that's what it's about interestingly enough though you did not pick the right movie for the soundtrack they did better than the movie.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: The bodyguard.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_03]: Really the soundtrack did way better than the movie once did 18 million.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right, but I will always But I will always love you.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like the quintessential.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he'd even made money for Dali Parton for crying Oh, she's now here's an interesting tidbits since you brought Dali up Can you remember song?

- 37:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's closed, but she, uh, Jolene is buying fire by, well, ahead of everybody else in terms of covers, people doing it, and, and, uh, royalties, which I was a little surprised about.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so now that we've gone further off track, let's go back to it.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Other other soundtracks where the movie didn't do so well.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: This one's interesting.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: Saturday night fever.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's on here, too.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: That was number two.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_03]: That is selling.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: suicide squad that's not on here yep criticize because of its plot uh but the the soundtrack was massively popular uh because of uh 21 pilots and they're song heathens uh trying legacy because of death punk uh the movie wasn't that great space jam that's on here yeah had a ton of 90s classics on it's a million copies
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: it's number 10 actually no there you go next is garden state not on here yeah it's got a lot of any folks to find it uh this this the uh the shims iron and wine sound tracks regarded as kind of superior to the film's narrative all right up next this one's probably on there purple rain yes number three yep best selling number three the movie was done we don't know what the hell purple rain is yeah i had no idea what
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, next the crow, that's probably on there as well, too.

- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: No crow.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, the crow's soundtrack.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, I know I bought it at least three or four times.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Ninety-snales ranging against some machines, some great stuff on there as well.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay, I heard you, the first three times.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Reality bites.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: Really, no.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, there's snubbing a lot of 90 stuff here.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: I see what's going on here.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably because you wrote it And it's probably got something to do with the fifties in the sixties.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: All right last but not least Transformers revenge of the falling.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

- 39:06[UNKNOWN]: Nope
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're just saying no because you just want to get to your list that's all because you did some research and you're like I did the research but I didn't mean that it's a reason All right, go ahead.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_03]: What's on your list?
- 39:17[SPEAKER_03]: Purple rain was number three Start from number one and go down from there from one.

- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Number six is Lion King.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's no Lion King seven in the way you said that.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's how like you said Lion King seven was number six.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: So six was Lion King, seven was Hispanic.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: Seven was the Lion King.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: I said the Lion King seven.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: I said six was Titanic.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_03]: The Lion King seven.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: Right.

- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, most of them don't agree with you, that's really what I'm supposed to do.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: I, you know, I have to look this up for next time, but I want to have any copies of of the Casa Blanca hit, so back then, and if you were to the soundtrack or the movie.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_03]: No, the song that Sam plays.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_03]: The kiss is just a kiss, a size, just a sign.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_00]: A kiss to build a dream on?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_03]: No, that's not it.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_03]: That's the name of the song?
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the lyrics to a dance.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, yes.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_03]: I said, time goes by.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_03]: Is the name of the song?
- 42:03[SPEAKER_03]: As time goes by.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a kiss to build.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_03]: And when two lovers kiss, but you could be right.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's as time goes by.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_03]: Because if you were to take that and now put it into the East time,
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: that song probably would be number one because I think it back in the day it's so the lot.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: I could be wrong.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: One my favorite song from a movie by the way.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's sold over a hundred thousand copies in the UK.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_03]: Not here.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm waiting for the computer to catch up for me.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_03]: So 100,000, but if you want to apply that for today, it'll be like 100 million.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's for today.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: How many copies has time?
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: How many copies has time goes by?
- 42:49[SPEAKER_03]: Since it came out.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: That's hard to believe.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the other thing you need to understand is that it came out before Casa Borka.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was written before Casa Borka.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: It was used in the movie, though.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: And there was the main song in the movie.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anyway, it's pulling up other stuff.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: We have to be more specific.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I have to say that Ryan is very album.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's also probably going to say the same thing that there's no legitimate numbers because it was, yeah, it's had sold more than 100,000 copies in the UK alone based on known certifications or certifications, 107,500 units.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: It reached over 16 on the UK album charts and $199 on the US Billboard 200.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: $199?
- 43:47[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: In addition to its UK success, the album earned platinum status in Argentina, 40,000 units and gold in New Zealand, 7,500.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: But that's in Argentina.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, you're thinking what it is in the US, not what it is in other areas.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: This is all over the world.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_03]: All right, well, here we go, you're going to go see apex, oh my god, you've got it right.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: yeah for those of you that need for those of you that need translation that's Michael jackson yeah we're also going to talk about movies where we thought the costumes were absolutely incredible or maybe the costumes were either or but that's going to be next episode which is going to be episode 36 but
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry 35.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: I jumped ahead of myself 35.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: So episode 35 will be costumes.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about that next week.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: We'll also give you reviews of Michael and Apex We'll talk about that at the next episode because that's a nugget.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: We should say for that Yeah, go ahead and ponderos it and then also Okay, and then also while while you're ponderosing that save us some popcorn
