- 1:23Speaker 1: talk Catch of the Day with a synopsis.
- 1:26Speaker 2: On the eve of becoming a New York executive chef.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Sophie returns home to help her families flailing restaurant and
- 1:35Speaker 2: runs into Cam, an old crush, who makes her question everything.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Let me stop right. There was she on the eve
- 1:45Speaker 2: of becoming a New York executive chef.
- 1:49Speaker 1: She was a sue.
- 1:50Speaker 2: She got like a promotion to be like this, the
- 1:53Speaker 2: sue chef right for the main guy at that restaurant.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, good point. And then the mean boss is like,
- 1:59Speaker 1: I have these investors coming and I'm eyeing you as
- 2:03Speaker 1: executive chef for this new restaurant. Yeah, real leap, honestly,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Like she's just made sux chef. And now the boss
- 2:10Speaker 1: is like, but if you're a good girl, I'll make
- 2:12Speaker 1: you executive chef.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yes. Sold me with that monologue in the restaurant.
- 2:18Speaker 1: That monologue that I rolled my ass at.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I know. I was like, we're starting the movie with this.
- 2:24Speaker 2: What's happening here? What is happening here?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Catch of the Day comes from director Jessica Harmon, who's
- 2:28Speaker 1: both an actor and a director, with twenty one directing
- 2:31Speaker 1: credits to her name. She's helmed everything from Aurora t
- 2:34Speaker 1: Guarded Mysteries and Tipline Mysteries. Dial One for Murder to
- 2:37Speaker 1: Dream Moms, A Paris Proposal, and the fan favorite Rip
- 2:41Speaker 1: in Time. Andrea Canning and Katie.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Lee are responsible for the screenplay with twenty six writing credits.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Andrea Canning brings plenty of Hallmark experience to Catch of
- 2:54Speaker 2: the Day. Her portfolio includes two of the Love on
- 2:58Speaker 2: the Danube movies, A Merry Scottish Christmas, A Paris Proposal,
- 3:03Speaker 2: Christmas Bedtime Stories, and Megan's favorite South Beach.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Love I Need to revisit that movie.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Katie Lee is also credited as a writer and producer
- 3:13Speaker 2: on the film, and even makes an on screen appearance
- 3:15Speaker 2: as food blogger Marisa. Katie is best known as a
- 3:20Speaker 2: celebrity chef and TV personality. She previously penned ground Swell,
- 3:24Speaker 2: which was adapted into a Hallmark movie based on her novel.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Michael Rady stars in the role of Cam with fifty
- 3:32Speaker 1: seven acting credits. Hallmark fans last saw Michael in Where
- 3:35Speaker 1: Are You Christmas from twenty twenty three. We're especially excited
- 3:39Speaker 1: for his return, after all, he's the leading man in
- 3:41Speaker 1: two of our Hallmark favorites, Love to the Rescue and
- 3:44Speaker 1: You're Baking Me Crazy.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Emily Laup stars as Sophie. Hallmark fans last saw her
- 3:50Speaker 2: in the twenty twenty three film Retreat to You, but
- 3:53Speaker 2: she is best known in the Hallmark universe as Brie
- 3:55Speaker 2: O'Brien from Chesapeake Shores and Dale in Signs Sealed, Delivered
- 4:01Speaker 2: and if you're looking for something a little different, don't
- 4:04Speaker 2: miss her in Lifetime's Mormon Mom Gone Wrong The Ruby
- 4:08Speaker 2: Frankie Story.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's well worth the watch. I watched it. She plays
- 4:13Speaker 1: Ruby Frankie. Is it a hard watch?
- 4:16Speaker 2: I mean, you know the story, it's you know, Yeah,
- 4:20Speaker 2: it's like rouped from the headlines.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yes, sripe.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Alison Wanzera takes on the role of Sister Abigail with
- 4:27Speaker 1: an impressive eighty one acting credits. Hamewark fans will recognize
- 4:30Speaker 1: her from The Blessing Bracelet in twenty twenty three and
- 4:33Speaker 1: as Tyler Hines's sister in the twenty twenty one holiday
- 4:36Speaker 1: favorite and Unexpected Christmas.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Sharon Crandall steps into the role as Sophie's boss, Evelyn
- 4:43Speaker 2: with forty two acting credits. Hallmark fans will recognize her
- 4:47Speaker 2: as Lois from the miniseries Holidays Beyond Tollmark. She's also
- 4:51Speaker 2: appeared on Virgin River as Gladys.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Tim Perez takes on the role of Hovey. Fans may
- 4:57Speaker 1: also recognize him from Holidays, where he played Mannycumer. With
- 5:01Speaker 1: seventy four acting credits to his name, he brings plenty
- 5:03Speaker 1: of experience to the cast.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Amanda Huxta Bowl plays fellow chef Julie. This is her
- 5:09Speaker 2: first role in a Hallmark project.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Leila Varrel plays niece Mia. This is her second Hallmark role,
- 5:15Speaker 1: having previously appeared in the twenty twenty four movie Scouting
- 5:18Speaker 1: for Christmas Scarlett.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Emilia Kennedy plays niece Charlotte. This is her second credited work,
- 5:25Speaker 2: having previously appeared in The Mistletoe Promise in twenty sixteen.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Hey, let's take a quick break and come right back
- 5:31Speaker 1: with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what was your first
- 5:34Speaker 1: impression of Catchup the Day?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Well, to me, it looks like the writer couldn't resist
- 5:48Speaker 2: a trip to the Hallmark pantry of tropes.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You know, you know. Wait, let me tell you my
- 5:55Speaker 1: first impression. I then, I want to tell you something.
- 5:57Speaker 1: My first impression is a throwback Hallmark concept plus a
- 6:01Speaker 1: Oh Jesus Christ, a throwback Hallmark concept plus a fresh
- 6:05Speaker 1: new filming location is a recipe for a Saturday Nights success.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh oh, okay. I was going to say I saw
- 6:15Speaker 1: a clip that was like part bit, part real of Taylor, Travis,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and Jason doing vocal warm ups before the episode of
- 6:25Speaker 1: New Heights. Yeah, Taylor seemed to be It was hard
- 6:29Speaker 1: to tell if they were like being serious about it
- 6:31Speaker 1: because Travis and Jason were doing a bit that was
- 6:35Speaker 1: from a Will Ferrell movie that I can't think of
- 6:37Speaker 1: the name of the new anchorman mm hmmm, as their
- 6:41Speaker 1: warm up, like he does a warm up, and they
- 6:43Speaker 1: were doing it like as a bit, and then Taylor
- 6:45Speaker 1: was but I was like, do we need to start
- 6:47Speaker 1: doing like vocal warm ups? Because Taylor was.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Like, well, do you remember that video clip I sent
- 6:56Speaker 2: you just like two weeks ago. I was like, oh,
- 6:57Speaker 2: look what I found and like the my photo. I
- 7:01Speaker 2: think that's what we're doing in that. I think like
- 7:04Speaker 2: that's what's been captured in that because we're like making
- 7:07Speaker 2: weird noises.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That's interesting. I gotta scroll back up. Hold on, maybe
- 7:11Speaker 1: we are I am hitting record with a camera remote.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Those were the days.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we do need to do some It's
- 7:21Speaker 2: not vocal. It's like my mouth, yes, just it's not loose,
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yes exactly. That's kind of what they were doing. It
- 7:28Speaker 2: was like almost like tongue twisters that they needed to
- 7:31Speaker 2: do to prep their mouths for speaking. All right, we'll
- 7:35Speaker 2: just gonna do it, you know, especially with countdown to
- 7:38Speaker 2: Christmas coming, I know, up our game. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 2: Well what did you like about.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Catch of the Day?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Okay, listen to me for a second.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Let me pause. You don't let my first impression suggest
- 7:52Speaker 1: that I am going to ride so hard for this
- 7:54Speaker 1: movie that you need to defend yourself, is all I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: going to say. I'm not trying to defend myself. Okay,
- 7:59Speaker 1: just need to be clear about the next thing I'm
- 8:03Speaker 1: going to say. If you have not.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Listened to our review of Double Scoop, I think you'll
- 8:10Speaker 2: see a little bit of or if you have listened
- 8:13Speaker 2: to our review of Double Scoop, you will hear a
- 8:15Speaker 2: little bit of like similarities my personal review of this movie.
- 8:21Speaker 2: To me, this movie is classic Hallmark. I think you're
- 8:26Speaker 2: gonna get exactly.
- 8:28Speaker 1: What you're hoping to get if you watch this movie.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Is truly if you're like a Hallmark purist who really
- 8:36Speaker 2: is looking for a classic Hallmark movie. It's like that,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and I didn't hate it. I didn't hate it, just
- 8:43Speaker 2: like in Double Scoop, I was like, Okay, sometimes these
- 8:47Speaker 2: kind of Hallmark comfort food food movies do something for me.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yes, I understand. I think you're right. Look, I agree
- 8:54Speaker 1: with you. This is so deep in the homework formula.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It's almost a joke. Big city chef goes to save
- 9:02Speaker 1: small family business. This is on the spin the wheel
- 9:08Speaker 1: of Hallmark movie ideas. Chef right like pick a profession,
- 9:13Speaker 1: pick a conflict, very mad Libby in that respect. I
- 9:17Speaker 1: think that being said, and to your point, I think
- 9:19Speaker 1: it's old Hallmark done pretty well. It's not shocking in
- 9:24Speaker 1: terms of the storytelling. It's not pushing outside of the box.
- 9:27Speaker 1: There's no big moves here to be flashy. They're trying
- 9:31Speaker 1: to be exactly who they are. But in my opinion,
- 9:35Speaker 1: they chose people that would make the movie highly watchable.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I agree.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Michael Rady is aging like a fine wine.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't hate it.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Emily Ollerup has a way of delivering lines that really
- 9:48Speaker 1: works for me. I like the way she speaks on
- 9:51Speaker 1: camera a lot, and I have some thoughts about Alison
- 9:55Speaker 1: Wantzer as character as Abigail actress. I really enjoy her.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I think she played that part of a character I
- 10:07Speaker 1: didn't love very much, very well.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah, here's what I'm wondering we have let me scroll
- 10:16Speaker 2: back to my notes here. We have two writers on
- 10:19Speaker 2: this film, right, and I wondered if Katie Lee, I
- 10:24Speaker 2: don't know specifically, if this was like her idea, her concept.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I have no idea, but I wonder if they're like, Okay, well,
- 10:32Speaker 2: let's put you with Andrea Canning, who is obviously a
- 10:37Speaker 2: well seasoned writer for Hallmark, similar to what we learned
- 10:41Speaker 2: last count Down the Christmas when our friend Danny Pellegrino
- 10:45Speaker 2: got paired with a Hallmark writer and then they both
- 10:48Speaker 2: got screenwriting credit.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Remember, Yes, I do. I have thoughts.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Even though Katie Lee has done she worked on Groundswell.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I'm just wondering if like they're like, Okay, let's let's
- 11:02Speaker 2: do one of her movies, you know what I mean.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yes, I.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Don't know if the material was like that great, but
- 11:12Speaker 2: like you said, Michael Rady and Emily uller Up, I
- 11:16Speaker 2: think they were genuinely, genuinely good on their own and
- 11:22Speaker 2: together considering what they were working with.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I agree with you. Let's talk about the writers really quickly.
- 11:28Speaker 1: A little trick I have is on IMDb, if you
- 11:30Speaker 1: click further into the cast and crew, it will break
- 11:33Speaker 1: the writers down and it will tell you whether they
- 11:36Speaker 1: get teleplay credit or story credit. And this is something
- 11:39Speaker 1: I started to pay attention to because, like you said,
- 11:43Speaker 1: with count On a Christmas Danny Pellegrino was very open
- 11:46Speaker 1: about the fact that Tracy Andrene was brought in to
- 11:48Speaker 1: hallmarkify his script. We also talk to Nita Weinman Swift,
- 11:54Speaker 1: who was very clear about sometimes like she's brought in
- 11:58Speaker 1: on a script to do a real write, or do
- 12:00Speaker 1: a refresh, or to just make it what the network
- 12:02Speaker 1: wants and so on. This Katie Lee gets the story credit.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So my understanding is like it was her script, and
- 12:09Speaker 1: then Andrea Canning came in and did the freshen up,
- 12:13Speaker 1: the rewrite, all of that got it.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean as a reviewer, I feel a little bit.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I don't know if it's like annoyed. I just it
- 12:23Speaker 1: feels lazy to me.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Maybe as a writer who's like, oh, I'm gonna write
- 12:28Speaker 2: this Hallmark movie because this is what their viewers like.
- 12:30Speaker 2: And I want to just put full stop. I don't.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I didn't love the story. So it, like you.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Said, mad Libs, it was very mad Libby Like She's like, Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 2: it's like me saying like, I'm going to write a
- 12:43Speaker 2: Hallmark movie and these are the tropes that I'm going
- 12:46Speaker 2: to tick off. Like it just feels uninspired.
- 12:49Speaker 1: So that's interesting. I don't disagree with you that I
- 12:51Speaker 1: think the script was a little uninspired. However, if you
- 12:54Speaker 1: look at perhaps the recent ratings, right, we saw that
- 12:58Speaker 1: Double Scoop Significant only outperformed Providence Falls my huge numbers. Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and there could be a million reasons for that, but
- 13:06Speaker 1: I personally, I think a big one is that the
- 13:10Speaker 1: main Hallmark audience likes what they like, and they like
- 13:12Speaker 1: what they know, and they like what's comfortable, and so
- 13:16Speaker 1: for writers to be like, yeah, I'm gonna write within that,
- 13:18Speaker 1: because someone's gonna pick this script up. And someone like
- 13:21Speaker 1: Katie Lee, who's had the opportunity she wrote grounds, well,
- 13:24Speaker 1: it's already been picked up. She has the ended Hallmark,
- 13:27Speaker 1: she maybe has someone she can say, hey, I got
- 13:29Speaker 1: this script, do you want it. I'm not mad at
- 13:32Speaker 1: someone trying to make a book as someone who runs
- 13:35Speaker 1: a business and is like, well, I know this particular
- 13:38Speaker 1: thing does well, so I'm gonna do more of that. Yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 1: that's super fair.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I'm just questioning myself. I know what I like in
- 13:47Speaker 2: a Hallmark movie, and I feel like I'm the.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Outlier for sure. I don't think you're wrong. I think
- 13:53Speaker 1: we both are.
- 13:54Speaker 2: But with that said, sometimes I like a comfy, cozy movie.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So this did do things for me.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I just I think.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Two back to back is rough made.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it gets it pushes me back into hater mode,
- 14:09Speaker 2: you know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah. I want to talk about Katie Lee as about
- 14:13Speaker 1: her role in this movie, because I was a little
- 14:16Speaker 1: worried because back in Grounds, Well, she had a pretty
- 14:20Speaker 1: large part, a pretty present part on screen. I think
- 14:24Speaker 1: the role she played in this, if you're gonna give
- 14:26Speaker 1: her a cameo, I think this role was perfect. It
- 14:29Speaker 1: had mild impact to the storyline. It was an important
- 14:33Speaker 1: enough role, but it wasn't detracting from the story in
- 14:37Speaker 1: the sense of like we got to squeeze in this
- 14:39Speaker 1: well known face somewhere. I appreciated the way in which
- 14:44Speaker 1: she was used.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I thought I liked I agree. I thought that was
- 14:50Speaker 2: a perfect spot for her. I also thought the voice
- 14:53Speaker 2: that she was giving was so Christina on the Coast.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I can't remember her last name right now, Christina, Yes,
- 15:02Speaker 2: Christina Hawk Like. It was the inflection in her voice
- 15:05Speaker 2: sounded so much like her to me, and I was like,
- 15:08Speaker 2: I wonder if she's doing that on purpose, like this,
- 15:10Speaker 2: that's her influence, influence her voice. Yeah, exactly exactly. Let
- 15:15Speaker 2: me give you some little tidbits of things I did. Like,
- 15:19Speaker 2: I appreciated that Cam and Sophie. Cam and Sophie were
- 15:26Speaker 2: actually mature enough to be like, hey, my wife is
- 15:29Speaker 2: here and you should go pursue your dreams. That felt
- 15:32Speaker 2: refreshingly grown up. I was really happy, Like, I was
- 15:37Speaker 2: really happy that Cam was like, yeah, like I'm happy here,
- 15:42Speaker 2: you need to go do that. She agrees, and you know,
- 15:47Speaker 2: well she agrees temporarily. But I thought I enjoyed that
- 15:52Speaker 2: maturity me too. Don't let's talk about for sure?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Okay, No, I just mean, like, let's let oh that
- 16:00Speaker 1: was my fault, that was confusing, but yes, let's put
- 16:03Speaker 1: it out in the open, like, let's talk about what's
- 16:04Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, And the other thing I liked I
- 16:08Speaker 1: like that Sophie decided to stay there not for Cam,
- 16:12Speaker 1: but she stayed for her family. I have a lot
- 16:16Speaker 1: of thoughts about how it played out, and we'll talk
- 16:18Speaker 1: about it in my wishes, But I like that she
- 16:21Speaker 1: was like, Okay, this is where I need to be.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It wasn't like.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm in love with Cam now and we're
- 16:27Speaker 2: gonna you know whatever. You know, Yeah, I agree with you.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I had some thoughts there too. The one thing that
- 16:35Speaker 2: made me feel okay with her decision, or at least
- 16:37Speaker 2: partially okay, she has a kind of a confession to
- 16:42Speaker 2: Cam where she's like, I feel like I didn't spend
- 16:43Speaker 2: enough time with my dad before we lost him, and
- 16:47Speaker 2: his advice to her is like, there's nothing you can
- 16:49Speaker 2: do about that, Like, you can't turn back time, but
- 16:51Speaker 2: you can live in the now and you can make
- 16:53Speaker 2: choices now that serve you. And so I felt like
- 16:57Speaker 2: her decision to stay for her sister and for her
- 17:00Speaker 2: nieces was a good one in that regard. Yes, I agree.
- 17:05Speaker 2: My final thing that I liked, you know, I love
- 17:08Speaker 2: a makeover trope. This one dips its toe in, but
- 17:12Speaker 2: it's not it doesn't fully commit. I kept waiting for
- 17:15Speaker 2: like full Gordon Ramsey style overhaul on this restaurant. Like,
- 17:19Speaker 2: you know, I wanted like everybody to show up the
- 17:21Speaker 2: next morning, and like Sophie had like you know, done everything. Eh,
- 17:28Speaker 2: Like I liked it, but I wanted more. Sure, Well,
- 17:33Speaker 2: let's talk what you wished for? Go ahead, Well, look, sister,
- 17:37Speaker 2: Abigail was very frustrating to me, to the point of
- 17:41Speaker 2: being a little annoying. She calls her sister and is like,
- 17:45Speaker 2: you need to come home and help me out. Sophie
- 17:48Speaker 2: comes home, and then Abigail pushes back so hard on
- 17:51Speaker 2: every choice that Sophie wants to make, which you seem
- 17:55Speaker 2: to not understand what we're doing here, Abigail. You the
- 17:59Speaker 2: restaurant was so now we need to make some changes.
- 18:02Speaker 2: You can't just stand there and say no, that's not
- 18:04Speaker 2: the way we've done it, when clearly the way you've
- 18:06Speaker 2: done it did not work. Yeah, it wasn't working out,
- 18:10Speaker 2: was it?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Get out of the way.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:12Speaker 1: It's like I it drives me because what did she expect?
- 18:16Speaker 2: What did she want Sophie to come do?
- 18:18Speaker 1: It was like talking to my teenagers when they come
- 18:20Speaker 1: to me with a problem and I offer them solutions
- 18:22Speaker 1: and none of the viable solutions are what they want,
- 18:25Speaker 1: and what they really wanted was some magical third option
- 18:28Speaker 1: that doesn't exist to just solve the problem without any
- 18:31Speaker 1: like sometimes there is an uncomfortable period of change when
- 18:36Speaker 1: you are working towards something that you want.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Right, exactly well with Nott said, I I was wondering
- 18:46Speaker 2: while I was watching his because Abigail and her husband
- 18:48Speaker 2: are They were saying there they were financially crushed by
- 18:52Speaker 2: a failing restaurant, right, and she was like, well, but
- 18:57Speaker 2: she kind of blames it on their mom because they're like, oh,
- 18:59Speaker 2: we need to hold it in the family because to
- 19:01Speaker 2: keep Dad's memory live, and like whatever. No, look, if
- 19:04Speaker 2: you are drowning in debt because you're trying to keep
- 19:07Speaker 2: this restaurant over open simply for memory, I think you
- 19:11Speaker 2: got to have a hard conversation with mom.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And be like it's gotta go. There's no tell me
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'm wrong. No, absolutely not. I totally agree with you.
- 19:20Speaker 1: That was so frustrating to watch live in reality for
- 19:23Speaker 1: a second.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Here. Yeah. The other thing that I thought was there
- 19:27Speaker 2: was one particular scene where Abigail gets mad at Sophie
- 19:31Speaker 2: because Sophie's like, oh, says something about like she's under pressure,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and Abigail's like, well, my pressure is worse, and I
- 19:39Speaker 2: was like, this is not a competition. You can both
- 19:43Speaker 2: be stressed at the same time for different things. I
- 19:46Speaker 2: was so pissed at sister Abigail for feeling like her
- 19:52Speaker 2: troubles were worse than Sophie's. Yeah, she to me, like,
- 19:57Speaker 2: you said, great actress. But I hated this character. I
- 20:02Speaker 2: hated this character so much.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Yeah. The idea that because you have a husband and children,
- 20:07Speaker 1: your struggles are harder is not my favorite. Yeah. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: was a little bit confused how we were supposed to
- 20:15Speaker 1: feel about Julie coworker, Julie the chef, the kitchen assistant,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't know what we call her. She swoops in
- 20:24Speaker 1: with her like non pedestrian menu ideas, and she allows
- 20:30Speaker 1: Sophie to take the fall for her when the fish
- 20:33Speaker 1: spills everywhere. She then later seems genuinely supportive of her.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I thought it was off balance. Whatever the portrayal of
- 20:40Speaker 1: Julie was. I felt like there are moments where she
- 20:43Speaker 1: seemed to be team Sophie and moments where she seemed
- 20:45Speaker 1: to be upstaging her, And I didn't really understand where
- 20:48Speaker 1: she was landing.
- 20:49Speaker 2: That is so right because Sophie when she leaves the
- 20:52Speaker 2: restaurant at the beginning, she feels a little bit threatened
- 20:56Speaker 2: by Julie, like, oh, Julie's gonna take her job if
- 20:59Speaker 2: she's gonna be gone ten days, and then all this
- 21:01Speaker 2: other stuff then plays out, Julie kind of seeing like
- 21:05Speaker 2: a little bit of a buffoon, like she didn't know
- 21:07Speaker 2: what she was doing, and that didn't just it didn't
- 21:10Speaker 2: track for me at home. I have one more complaint
- 21:12Speaker 2: about Abigail.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, she is.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Mad at Sophie for not visiting again from the homemark
- 21:20Speaker 2: pantry of tropes here, like you have to be make
- 21:23Speaker 2: the girl that leaves the hometown a villain because she
- 21:26Speaker 2: doesn't come back and visit.
- 21:28Speaker 1: But she's so glad when Sophie said the Long Island
- 21:30Speaker 1: Railroad runs both ways, I did. I love that.
- 21:34Speaker 2: But but also on the other hand, Montalk is not
- 21:37Speaker 2: that far from New York because that's where Sophie's at
- 21:40Speaker 2: right in New York.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm the summerhouse. Kids go there every weekend.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I was going to say, I've watched ten seasons of
- 21:45Speaker 2: Reality TV of them trekking out there every single weekend
- 21:49Speaker 2: all summer long so I don't know why Sophie couldn't get.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Out there, just got to have a day off.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I know it does take like many hours to get there,
- 21:58Speaker 2: but if outside of summer it probably globally doesn't.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Well, it takes several hours to get there, but if
- 22:04Speaker 1: Sophie's working six days a week, does she want to
- 22:06Speaker 1: spend six hours driving there and back.
- 22:08Speaker 2: No, she needs to do laundry and stuff at home.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So right, they could take turns. They could take turns visiting. Yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 1: do you have any other wishes? No, let's talk. Did
- 22:18Speaker 1: you see that?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Okay?
- 22:20Speaker 1: I have two little ones. Okay, let me hear when
- 22:23Speaker 1: they're not wearing headphones on their helicopter ride to mont talk.
- 22:26Speaker 1: They never would have been able to hear each other.
- 22:27Speaker 1: They're just talking in the back of that helicopter.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Did not notice.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And this is another throwback. Did you see that Emily
- 22:35Speaker 1: is wearing the brand Mother denim as you clocked in
- 22:37Speaker 1: another recent movie. Must be the Hallmark costume designer fave
- 22:42Speaker 1: brand that also.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Made my I'm just like zoned in on when somebody's
- 22:48Speaker 2: wearing a pair of Mother jeans because they're.
- 22:51Speaker 1: So freaking expensive. Well, they just fit her so well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: they were so cute. I just like the cut so much.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah, my other digite that's are in one scene and
- 23:00Speaker 2: they go to the beach with the family and Cam
- 23:03Speaker 2: is there. There are so many bugs. Oh, I can
- 23:06Speaker 2: see them on screen. They like she's wearing like a
- 23:08Speaker 2: really cute kind of like woven bucket hat and they're
- 23:11Speaker 2: like flying under her hat. I was like, oh ah,
- 23:15Speaker 2: how is she like keeping that face without like freaking out.
- 23:18Speaker 1: That they're swatting them away?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Yes? Yes. And then my other did you see that
- 23:25Speaker 2: is at the end of the movie when when they
- 23:28Speaker 2: reopen on the.
- 23:30Speaker 1: By the fourth of July. Excuse me?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Was this movie supposed to come out earlier this summer?
- 23:35Speaker 1: I hated, like, that's my frame.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Make it labor day people. But we see
- 23:43Speaker 2: like their restaurant refresh and there are barely any dining
- 23:46Speaker 2: tables in there.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yes, there's way too much dead space in that restaurant.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, make your shot tighter and just
- 23:54Speaker 2: put all these tables together so the restaurant looks full
- 23:57Speaker 2: and busy. That does not make any sense to me.
- 24:01Speaker 1: That's all I got. Hey, would you rate Catch of
- 24:03Speaker 1: the Day? I gave it three stars me too. Okay,
- 24:07Speaker 1: I didn't hate it.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I really like I really like the actors that are
- 24:11Speaker 2: in it.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no you don't need to defend your rating
- 24:14Speaker 1: at all, feeling I'm not going to Okay, thank you
