- 0:02Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right here on the
- 0:07Speaker 1: One look Up Network. We have a lot to get to,
- 0:09Speaker 1: maybe a follow with Bob Boris Hollywood Media. Maybe also
- 0:14Speaker 1: a conversation with the former Senator Phil Graham, and of
- 0:17Speaker 1: course we got to talk to Terminelo's take before the
- 0:21Speaker 1: ECF Eastern Conference Finals kicks off. But first, but first,
- 0:27Speaker 1: a big shout out today to all the New York
- 0:30Speaker 1: legends that rolled through to the BTIG charity Day. You
- 0:36Speaker 1: know every year we celebrate Giving Tuesday, Well, today felt
- 0:40Speaker 1: like a major Giving Tuesday in Midtown Manhattan on East
- 0:44Speaker 1: fifty fifth Street, where BTIG headquarters is. Because the likes
- 0:50Speaker 1: of Victor cruz Nick's legend, Stefan Marbury, Charles Oakley, current Yankees,
- 0:56Speaker 1: Jazz Chisholm, Austin Wells, Carlos Rodon, manager Aaron and even
- 1:02Speaker 1: some celebrities like Alec Baldwin and David Weir of ABC
- 1:06Speaker 1: News Tonight all came through to support the efforts of BTIG. Now,
- 1:12Speaker 1: if you're not familiar with them, don't worry. I had
- 1:14Speaker 1: to learn on the go as well, because when I
- 1:17Speaker 1: heard about this from our friend Nithan, who reposted about well,
- 1:20Speaker 1: Clyde Fraser being there. I did some research and BTIG
- 1:27Speaker 1: is not only a city based company, they are global
- 1:32Speaker 1: and today's their BTIG Charity Day. And you know, the
- 1:36Speaker 1: charities they've supported over the years include Bowery Mission, include
- 1:40Speaker 1: Achilles now Achilles Hits Home because as someone who runs
- 1:45Speaker 1: with one leg, I was always sort of recruited to
- 1:50Speaker 1: run with Achilles because they help those who run a
- 1:53Speaker 1: little differently and adaptive running if you will, So see
- 1:58Speaker 1: BTIG help out those folks. I see they've helped out
- 2:02Speaker 1: Blisdeale's Children's Hospital. I mean, I'm gonna post a link
- 2:06Speaker 1: up to who BTIG is. But when these athletes roll
- 2:10Speaker 1: up to support BTIG Charity Day, they're supporting these great causes.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And for me being a spokesman variety of the children's charity,
- 2:22Speaker 1: being fortunate to participate in Sports Night at the Viscardi
- 2:26Speaker 1: Center every year from ages five to twenty, you know
- 2:31Speaker 1: till seventeen and beyond, even last year with Tino Martinez
- 2:36Speaker 1: coming to Celebrity Night. I've seen how athletes take time
- 2:42Speaker 1: out to support great causes and it pulls a strig
- 2:46Speaker 1: because I love sports and I love seeing these athletes
- 2:50Speaker 1: give back. It's part of the game, if you will,
- 2:55Speaker 1: the giving back portion. But it did something because being
- 3:02Speaker 1: around these different organizations and different charities for the last
- 3:04Speaker 1: twenty five years, it might have had an impact on
- 3:07Speaker 1: me more than the average person waiting for it. To
- 3:11Speaker 1: get that picture with Jazz Chism and Austin Wells, it
- 3:13Speaker 1: impacted me in a way that made me come on
- 3:16Speaker 1: the podcast day and say thank you. Thank you to
- 3:21Speaker 1: Austin Wells, Jazz Chism, Aaron Boone, Stefan Marberry, Victor Cruz,
- 3:26Speaker 1: Charles Oakley, well Clyde Frazier for helping BTIG have one
- 3:31Speaker 1: leg up for so many great organizations and pitching in
- 3:36Speaker 1: when needed. So I hope you consider looking into BTIG
- 3:43Speaker 1: charities more and I hope maybe one day we'll be
- 3:48Speaker 1: able to be in that room when they make these.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's basically a celebrity trading day to support BTIG and
- 4:00Speaker 1: the causes that BTIG supports, and I hope to be
- 4:04Speaker 1: in the room and see all that unfold next year.
- 4:07Speaker 1: In twenty twenty six, this was the twentieth anniversary of
- 4:10Speaker 1: btig's charity Day and very cool to be outside watching
- 4:17Speaker 1: all these athletes come in and do their part, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: as I've talked about with the Ice Hockey and Harlem
- 4:23Speaker 1: with the three Monthson Foundation, with Variety, with Viscardi, these
- 4:28Speaker 1: are all examples of athletes giving back and really stepping
- 4:35Speaker 1: up when needed on and off the field, the court,
- 4:39Speaker 1: the rink. Yes, I saw King Henrik Lungbush as well leaving.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I even saw Bridget moynihan of Blue Bloods coming in
- 4:46Speaker 1: da the Daada remember her from Blue Blood So just
- 4:55Speaker 1: a special day to watch unfold on these fifty fifth
- 5:01Speaker 1: and again, I want to thank Nathan for posting about
- 5:05Speaker 1: this and alerting us to this, because that's how all
- 5:07Speaker 1: this happened today, for one legal Alex to be on
- 5:10Speaker 1: the scene, as so many athletes and celebrities are on
- 5:14Speaker 1: the scene when it matters the most. And I wrote
- 5:19Speaker 1: about this in my word press. Maybe I'll have to
- 5:21Speaker 1: edit it to talk about the way it felt watching
- 5:24Speaker 1: all these athletes come in and support the charity day.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I mean, these are guys who are gonna play on
- 5:30Speaker 1: the field tonight in four hours. Jazz is all the
- 5:33Speaker 1: men by the way, four hours and they covet support
- 5:38Speaker 1: this great cause. Hank Azaria also was there, got to
- 5:44Speaker 1: meet him for a second, I mean, they're all nice guys.
- 5:47Speaker 1: They're all nice people, and uh, I just I loved it.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I loved watching all these guys come in and support
- 6:02Speaker 1: the cause. And I hope you too can get around
- 6:05Speaker 1: to supporting BTIG. And you know what's interesting, I was
- 6:08Speaker 1: so struck. I actually tried to make that connection between
- 6:11Speaker 1: BTIG and Vascarti because I feel like their principles are
- 6:16Speaker 1: lined up. I feel like their hearts are lined up
- 6:18Speaker 1: to help those in need. And Biscardi has had a
- 6:23Speaker 1: lot of kids Blithdale's Children's Hospital, even remote learning from
- 6:29Speaker 1: there as well. So when I saw Blinzel, I said,
- 6:33Speaker 1: oh my god, this organization is incredible, not just Achilles,
- 6:36Speaker 1: but Blisdale and other different efforts that they list on
- 6:40Speaker 1: the website. I highly suggest you check them out. It
- 6:44Speaker 1: was a giving Tuesday in May for BTIG charities, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: maybe one day we'll get to partner with them and
- 6:53Speaker 1: speak on their behalf. Who knows, Maybe he's in the cards,
- 6:56Speaker 1: but for now, to be outside watching all these athletes
- 6:59Speaker 1: roll on in to do their part to give back
- 7:03Speaker 1: to the city, give back to these charities, to get
- 7:05Speaker 1: back to the community. Oh, how does it not warm
- 7:08Speaker 1: your heart. How does it not warm your heart? And
- 7:13Speaker 1: for me, it's special every time, from Variety to Viscari
- 7:19Speaker 1: Center to BTIG, it's inspiring to talk about how athletes
- 7:23Speaker 1: are giving back to all these different organizations and how
- 7:27Speaker 1: I've been fortunate to see it the last twenty five
- 7:29Speaker 1: plus years as we get to see those who we
- 7:37Speaker 1: root on. Nothing like it here in New York City, right,
- 7:41Speaker 1: nothing like it when you see these athletes helping these
- 7:43Speaker 1: charities and organizations have one leg up for the community.
