Morning — May 20 — 1 Timothy 4:16
Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you. — 1 Timothy 4:16
Perseverance in the Christian life is an active Spirit-led discipline that guards both the heart and the gospel. The believer's ongoing battle against indwelling sin reveals whose they are, since union with Christ has already broken sin's dominion. Sanctification is God's chosen means to preserve the saints and commend the truth to a watching world.
