- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you're a driven, active person who wants to reach and pursue a higher quality life with some ambition, then guess what?
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: This podcast is for you.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: This is the Driven Athlete Podcast.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: What's up, y'all?
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: This is me and Dr.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Kyle.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the Driven Athlete Podcast.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Um, this is gonna be this is a little different.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna talk about myself.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So this is this is a journey of my own that just to relate to the listeners out there and then maybe instill some inspiration or some like just relatable stories, all right.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And also you get to know me a little better.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, like it's funny, it's like you see posts on social media and stuff.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: It's like, how can this person make it more about them?
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like, how can I make it more about me?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Well, I promise I'm not like that.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think it's hopefully interesting and and share more insights and about me personally, and then also like we can relate better.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's about my journey as an athlete.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So um I grew up playing everything, all right.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Um, and this whole journey led me to where I am today.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And I think living vicariously through the patients we work with now has the it helped it makes it more enjoyable.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: It's fun.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: It's what we this is why we do some of the stuff we do.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: And this is some of the journey.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: So I grew up playing a bunch of sports growing up.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I played everything, all right.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: The only thing I really didn't play was hockey and tennis.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Other than that, I played pretty much everything.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh I played baseball a lot.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I played football starting at 10 years old.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I played basketball since I was seven.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I played soccer a couple of years, a little bit.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh, I then I played volleyball in high school, in middle school and then high school.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: So in middle school, I played volleyball, um, football, baseball, um, basketball.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: And then high school, I actually lettered in four varsity sports.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: All right, I lettered in um baseball, football, um, basketball.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And then my senior year, I decided not to play baseball because we were a baseball family, which is kind of crazy.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: It was a big jump, and I decided to play volleyball instead because some of my friends were playing volleyball.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: I was like, it'd be more fun.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And the coach at the time was like, Volstadt, if you give me some time and to work on some stuff, I'll get you a D1 scholarship in volleyball.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: This is at tryouts.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: And I was like, All right, let's go.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm in.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: And I did.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: So um I then went to college and I actually was not gonna go to college unless I got some kind of sports scholarship to play.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I wasn't just gonna go to college, I was gonna go to fire school instead, be a firefighter.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: That was my plan.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I was gonna be a firefighter.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um, but I got an offer from Quincy University to play um football and volleyball.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So I got a football scholarship and a volleyball scholarship, and I also got an academic scholarship.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So it was really helpful.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And I was like, all right, I'm going to play, I'm going to college.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And when I went to college, I still have the mindset that I was going to go to fire firefighting school and be a firefighter afterwards.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I ended up majoring in biology.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: So people are like, why are you majoring in biology when you're going to be a firefighter?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Um, why not just take more of a chill route?
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: And I was like, well, I think it's interesting, right?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I liked anatomy and physiology and some biology stuff, but mostly like um kinesiology and biomechanics and stuff.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And I was later, I was I was still gonna go to be a firefighter.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Um, but um I remember talking to my dad one day as a senior in college, and he was like, How is this going?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: How was your classes?
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: How was this class?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I got an A in this, I got an A in that thing, whatever.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And he's like, You're doing pretty good.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: You ever consider like physical therapy school?
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And I was like, huh.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Nope, but I'll look into it.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: So that was my last semester as a senior.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Um, I was a biology major and I was about to graduate.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's when I actually started to pursue getting into like physical therapy school of like, what do I do next?
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: So I did take a couple more prereqs and ended up getting into physical therapy school.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Then I met my wife in school.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: We moved out to Houston.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I did the fellowship training and then started this practice.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Now we have three beautiful kids.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Practice is doing well from sports physio.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I'm like, man, like could you imagine a different life trajectory?
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad that I did that.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And also that I met my wife, like we did, and we moved out together.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: A whole other story on that, too, of like a leap of faith.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Um, but anyway, so um back to athletics.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: I played um football.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Football was like D2, um, and then volleyball was division one.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: All right, so it was men's was division one volleyball.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And um, we were in the same conferences as like Ball State, Ohio State, Lewis.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Um, Lewis has won the national championship in men's volleyball.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Ohio State's won the national championship a couple of times.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Um, and IPFW has, I don't know if they've won a national championship.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: But anyway, there's like, you know, there's like three major conferences in men's volleyball and college um for D1.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: And it's like the New England area, like Penn State is like a absolute um juggernaut, and then the Midwest, which is where we were, and then the East, the West Coast, which is like Long Beach State, USC, UCLA, um, Pepperdine.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Those are like the the major players for D one.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: There's like only three conferences that are like actually competitive in that.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and was really cool is that we actually led um we were not good in volleyball, and we actually had the best season in school history my senior year.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So we led them up to like the best season in school history.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: It was really cool.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: I got like a second team all conference award my senior year in volleyball, which is really cool.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and then football, um, I was a tight end and receiver.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Um, and I also did long snapping.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and um, I remember specifically, I had a big issue with um confidence and self-image and insecurity, that I was always too skinny and I wasn't big, I didn't have enough big mass, I wasn't muscular enough or strong enough or fast enough to like actually play football.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So, like I would tell people in college, like, yeah, actually I'm a freshman, I just finished my freshman year, whatever, and I play football.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: They're like, You play football?
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Like, you don't look like a football player.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: I heard that a thousands of thousands of times.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I'll almost show you what's up.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm gonna tip my shoulder and show you.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: But anyway, that really played a major impact on me because it really affected my confidence and my self-image and my insecurity, where battling imposter syndrome was even though I had a lot of help, good success in high school, um, I could, I was a player, like I played well, I had good skills.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I had the evidence to back up that I was a good player.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I still didn't believe in myself.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: I didn't see myself like that.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: So my sophomore year in college, I was actually the starting tight end going into this, like at after training camp.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And the first scrimmage that we did, the coach was like, All right, team one offense, go out to the field.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: And I was like, there's no way that I'm actually the starter.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: And I remember specifically, I stood there in the sideline as the whole team, the first offense ran out.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And I looked to my left, looked to my right, and the backup tight end, who was a year older than me, looked at me and then he ran out and he played, he went out as a starter.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: The coach was like, Thank goodness.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: But he was like, No, no, no, stop.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Time out.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Like Volstead, you're the starting tight end.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Go out there.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh, my bad, I didn't hear you, you know.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I that's how bad my insecurity and my imposter syndrome and lack of confidence was.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I was named the starting tight end.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: I was doing well enough.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Like you don't just get that position without doing good.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I was doing well enough in practice.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Um, and clearly I had the attributes to be named a starter, but I still didn't even think I was actually the starter.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: I had almost let that slip and let my teammate just run out and take my place.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Uh I just didn't believe it.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: It was crazy, it's crazy to think.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Um, anyway, it's a bummer, is that that actually stuck with me that lack of confidence and self-image and security through my whole career.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Like I just didn't um, I didn't have the security and confidence.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: I didn't really believe that I was actually good enough to play.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: And eventually I was gonna be exposed as a fraud, even though I did well enough.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Like that year, my sophomore year, I got honorable mention all conferences at tight end.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Um, and then my junior year, I was the main target.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: And I think I led the season the team in receiving yards.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: And then um, anyway, I just did I'd under I underperformed for sure.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Junior year and senior year, I underperformed.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: I didn't do as well as I could have.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: And in my opinion, I think the mental component was the major factor because I was getting bigger and stronger and faster, and I had all the attributes and act and uh of athletic ability.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Um, but um, I just I was just really lacking confidence.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Um, volleyball was the opposite, where I uh was lacking confidence at the beginning, but I got more confident as I went along.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think hearing things from my teammates really helped too.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Like they would be like, um, you know, set, give give Vallstead the ball, you know, like we gotta let this guy, I was the main attacker, I was a middle, uh middle hitter.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: They were like, just give him the ball more, you know.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: We need him to have the ball.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And I was like, You want me to have the ball more?
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, cool.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: You know, like that makes me feel more confident.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: And then the the everything kind of, you know, set, filled, filled the gaps, and the evidence was um, it was there for me to feel more confident, you know.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Um, so that was really cool.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: That volleyball went kind of the opposite direction with confidence and performance.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think I at some point, you know, um my senior year in college um as a volleyball player, I was leading the nation in hitting percentage um in D1, which is pretty cool.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: And then I think I ended up finishing top five, maybe in hitting percentage my senior year.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: Um, and then um also keep in mind we're battling teams like Ohio State and Long Beach and like Pepperdine and UCLA and stuff.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: So there was a heavy competition involved, you know, in Penn State.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I was leading the I was leading the nation in hitting possess hitting percentage, was like that being like how if you get the ball set to you, what's the likelihood you're actually gonna get a point and a kill, like a spike, a kill it.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Um it's called a kill in uh volleyball.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So um I was also um uh high up there with like the team leading, I don't know what I was leading team, but I was up there with like solo blocks and then also um in aces.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And I think I finished like in school history, like top 10, some something with um at the service aces, and then also up there somewhere like with kills.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Um, but so that was cool, you know.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and then after that, um I I um then went to grad school and uh that's where I met my wife when I went to the University of Miami and uh played a lot of intramural sports at UM and I was not ready to like stop playing, and that was a fun part for me.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Like I was really dialed into like looking forward to intramural sports and ended up winning like nine championships in intramurals at UM, and I'm playing all these undergrad kids.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Um, and we had a good team, like we had some athletes on our in our school that are classmates, so we all got teams together for different sports and stuff, like flag football, co-ed flick football, men's basketball, co-ed basketball, three-on-three basketball, sand volleyball, indoor volleyball.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, those were my main sports.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: I didn't play soccer, soccer was my thing, but my wife played soccer, so of course I was you know supporting her.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: And at the time we were just dating.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, she played a lot of soccer too, and we played volleyball together.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Um, so in yeah, in real sports were a lot of fun for me, and I was that was cool.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Um, and then since then, I have not really played um an organized sport.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Since then, I haven't played an organized sport.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Um, my since my last year of grad school, and then I played like a men's basketball league right before I left for Houston after I passed the board exam to start working.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Since then, I haven't played an organized sport, which is crazy to think.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: And that was in 2015.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: So that was 11 years ago.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I haven't played an actual organized sport for 11 years.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and that is uh weird to say, you know, it's it's weird.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And I miss playing sports, I miss competing, I miss like getting after it, which has led me to where we are now because um I um live vicariously through the patients, you know, the active people you work with, where they have like, I got a big golf tournament coming up, or I got a big pickleball thing coming up, where like it's important to them and there's something they've worked towards, or tennis match or whatever.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And then also the pro athletes we work with, that's really cool, of course, and college athletes um and high school athletes as well.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, that's it's all that's love working with those populations because they're very passionate and they really want to get after it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: And high school's a lot of passion and um um yeah, just just a lot of passion and commitment.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: College is a little bit more serious and like a but still a lot of passion and commitment because they want to strive to do well.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: And then pro is more of a business for sure, and they like they need to perform.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Um, so there's a lot more at stake, you know, with with pro.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Um, and I had a little bit of it.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: So, like when I was in college and I played football um and volleyball, I was, you know, I was I I had I was 6'5, my playing weight was 235.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: So I, you know, I had some size.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Um, I never really I never got over 240.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Just not my I just you know didn't get there.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Um, but the cool thing was I I was invited to this super regional NFL combine after my senior year in college to at least showcase, showcase some athleticism and football skills as a tight end.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Nothing came out of it, but at least I was in a conversation, which was cool, you know, um, and uh was able to showcase some some skills and ball work and running routes and stuff like that.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Um, so that was a cool thing for me to at least get invited to this that super regional NFL combine.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Um, but like I said, nothing came out of it.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Fortunately, because that next year is when I went to PT school to grad school for physical therapy school, and that's where I'm eventually met Nicole, my wife.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: So it's like had I like gone the football route and tried, I don't know, a European football, maybe Canadian football, and just like not giving it up and skipped the opportunity to go to PT school when I got accepted to school, like that would, I think would not have been the right route to go.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: So, um, because now, you know, I have a fun practice, a clinical practice that I'm uh running and have employees that are doing really well and crushing it.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: And then I get a lot of enjoyment watching them enjoy their life.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: And then we have a lot of great patients that we connect with and really helping their life.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, like personally, I have my beautiful wife that's amazing.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: And then we have through three beautiful, healthy children that we just like love more than anything in the world, you know.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: So um I'm super grateful and thankful for all that.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: But all those journeys prior and the sports, in my opinion, which is I'm an advocate for sports, there's so many character development traits that come with the grind and the failure.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: And even though you're not feeling good, you still got to show up and you got to show out.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Like you get it, you need to perform.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Even when you're not feeling good, or you're tired, or you're hurt, or like you're banged up, you know, and like my knee isn't feeling good, but I still gotta play.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: If I want to play Ohio State this weekend, I need to practice.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: I got to show the coach I still can do my thing, you know?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Um, or, you know, uh coming after just injuries in football, because those happens all the time.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Um, so um so many character traits, you know, discipline, hard work, patience, grit, I think is a huge one.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Um, just the the per perseverance and passion.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Um, and then um being able to being able to pull it out and perform when you're not your best.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Um gratitude when it's like I'm able to do fun things.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: And then football is unique because it's so physical.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: You're hand-to-hand combat and you're gonna get hit.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get you keep your head in a swivel because there will be a time when you get laid out.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Um, and even that risk and concern after it happens, like that didn't feel good.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: And I got embarrassed and shamed, and my head hurts, or like my hip hurts, or whatever.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: You still gotta line up and go toe-to-toe again.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Um, even if somebody's bigger than you, you know, like it's like it's intimidating, right?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Because I grew up at high school as like not the big kid.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I was thin and lean and like skinny, and I had skills, you know, I could play, but um I wasn't a hulking, you know, linebacker.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: So like lining up against those kids, you still gotta show up, man.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Like you're gonna you're gonna line up toe to toe, or are you gonna let this intimidation prevent you from doing that?
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: And it takes a lot of bravery and courage, in my opinion.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of with football unique being the character traits involved with that and the physical toughness and grind um to just show up day to day, day after day.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Um I just I I really um advocate for people playing sports.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: It's a good outlet um and it's a fun teammate relationship building and a lot of character traits that can be built over time with doing that stuff that then leads into your later life, that trickles into professional life, directional purposefulness and discipline that if harnessed and channeled the right way, can I think lead to great things that I'm always trying to work on by no means am I perfect, but um otherwise um not having the those kind of experiences that um I think can shape someone's life for the better, and then pass it down to my kids, you know, and be a role model and a leader for them and an example of all those things, you know.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Um, so anyway, that's so with that being said, where I'm at now I practice and working with patients, um, that's why I get excited about like, yo, your shoulder feels good and you want to play, you're back to playing sports again and you scored a goal, or like you scored a uh, you know, you hit a base hit or whatever in baseball, or you're able to pitch again and be your baseball game, or your knee was hurting, and now you're back in on the crossfield and you're able to play, or weekend warriors that like they play tennis tournaments or matches, whatever, pickleball, and like they're able to play again and they're super animated, enthusiastic.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Like, I played good, my ankle felt fine, and like I was able to do all that.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: It's like, dude, it's awesome, man.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Like freaking high five, dude.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: You know, like let's go, you know.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: So though we live, we like to live vicariously through that, and we get enthusiastic and amped up with stuff like that, which is why we're passionate about what we do.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: And why we're passionate about what we do.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: My philosophy on this too is like, then you got to be the best.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Like, we gotta we have to provide the best care with the best lens to get the best results.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: So we have to like I that's why I went through fellowship training and all that stuff.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, I'm not just gonna dip my toe halfway in and be mediocre.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: You know, like we need these people, there there is a solution.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: I wish I had someone like me when I was playing in high school and college, because some of the things that were limiting me that I could have been fixed with and maybe um just in improved the quality of just the athletic experience for me.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Um, I was fortunate of how far I got for sure, but still being frustrated and confused, like nobody can figure out what's going on.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: There has to be some kind of a solution versus just like, well, just the way it is, you know, like just ice it and take Advil.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: It's like, bro, there's got to be a better way.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Things don't hurt for no reason.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: There is a solution.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: So that's why I wanted to be the best.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying I'm the best.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: I wanted to learn from the best and that set myself for success as best as possible.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what I did with learning from people that I look up to and admire as the best, um, so that I could trickle that down to other people and work with them and um, you know, live enthusiastically with them.

- 18:57SPEAKER_00: So those three things combined, you can't just otherwise it's just a passion, right?
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Like it's just a hobby that you can't actually make a living off of.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: But those three things combined, I feel like this is my eyes guy, and I I like that and I I want to lean into that and dive in more.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Um, so um, that's a little bit of insight on some of my background and some of the things that I did that led me to where I am now, and some of the lens and and uh insights and why I do what I do and how I do it, and um living vicariously through the patients we work with now.
