- 0:11Speaker 1: Let's do a show.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Let's keep playing ball. Let the 2026 season continue. The
- 0:18Speaker 2: Tampa Bay Rays grab a game.
- 0:20Speaker 1: 4-3. Walk off.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Give that home crowd or whatever you call that crowd,
- 0:26Speaker 2: because I don't know which crowd is the home crowd.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I don't know if it was 50-50, whatever it is.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Indoor crowd.
- 0:30Speaker 2: There was a happy crowd. The indoor crowd, right. It's
- 0:33Speaker 2: an indoor World Series. And Rays fans are fired up.
- 0:37Speaker 2: They grab a game. And then you start to think
- 0:39Speaker 2: about history, Todd Fother. As far as I saw, I
- 0:42Speaker 2: think it's been 25 times that you've had a 3-0
- 0:46Speaker 2: lead in a World Series. Yes. I'll give you two
- 0:52Speaker 2: different trivia questions. One is, guess how many times you've
- 0:55Speaker 2: had a Game 5 out of those 25 opportunities?
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm going to go right down the middle. I'm going
- 1:03Speaker 1: to say 12.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Kratz?
- 1:06Speaker 3: Game 5.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So just grabbing this game like the Rays just did.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And it happened four times before tonight out of 25 chances.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And then guess how many times it's been taken to
- 1:20Speaker 2: a game six.
- 1:22Speaker 1: After being a 3-0.
- 1:25Speaker 2: In the World Series?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Zero. Never. Never.
- 1:30Speaker 2: If the Rays win game five, we'll see a first-ever
- 1:32Speaker 2: game six after a 3-0 lead from a team. And Milwaukee,
- 1:36Speaker 2: I think, would still be feeling good. about bringing that
- 1:39Speaker 2: thing back home.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Zero. Zero.
- 1:41Speaker 2: There's some history for you. That's what I saw on
- 1:45Speaker 2: the social media, and you know everything on social media
- 1:48Speaker 2: is factual. We can double-check it between now and the
- 1:50Speaker 2: 1 o'clock Eastern FT show, but this was fun. This
- 1:54Speaker 2: was a cool game. There was Jake Bauer's homer that
- 1:57Speaker 2: we thought was going to be remembered forever, and it'll
- 1:59Speaker 2: be kind of remembered, but not as much. Ben Williamson
- 2:02Speaker 2: with the walk-off. Let's break it all down.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Cooper Pratt.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's a full count.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Who did I say?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Jake Bowers.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm punchy. Oh, oops.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I was like, I was thinking to myself, I'm like,
- 2:20Speaker 3: oh crap, did I get that wrong?
- 2:23Speaker 1: No, no, you got it. I was going to let
- 2:24Speaker 1: it go, but crap to you.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Never let it go. It's a full count. It's fueled
- 2:28Speaker 2: by marathon. You need a little gas right now. So
- 2:31Speaker 2: the Rays just got it. Todd Father, what did you
- 2:34Speaker 2: think of this one? And Is there anything that you
- 2:36Speaker 2: would pick at if you're looking at the Milwaukee side first?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Do you think they did anything strategically off?
- 2:46Speaker 4: No, I don't think so. I mean, there was one
- 2:49Speaker 4: big mistake at the end. Ortiz at third base, the
- 2:53Speaker 4: throwing hour with Bauer's over there. The dude's been picking
- 2:58Speaker 4: everything at first base.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 3:01Speaker 4: He's saved so many runs or at least so many
- 3:03Speaker 4: guys from getting on base. there's so much to dive
- 3:08Speaker 4: into here, Scott. I mean, there was so many. This
- 3:10Speaker 4: was a game to remember. I mean, listen, the dude Pratt,
- 3:15Speaker 4: I mean, come on, man. This guy is absolutely unbelievable.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Four hits.
- 3:21Speaker 4: He looks so good up there. I think, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 4: if I'm Murph, you might want to try and move
- 3:28Speaker 4: him up in the lineup, or you keep it as
- 3:30Speaker 4: it is just because of how good they've been playing.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Pitching has been really good. How about this Ashby guy, man?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Holy moly.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I mean, Kratzy, we talked about this yesterday after the game. MVP,
- 3:42Speaker 4: I mean, this guy's got to be brought into it.
- 3:45Speaker 4: If not that dude, if it wasn't for Jackson Churio
- 3:49Speaker 4: basically cementing history again with Babe Ruth with multiple hits
- 3:55Speaker 4: in the first four games. So, no, I don't think
- 3:58Speaker 4: there's anything to nitpick about the Brewers here. I just
- 4:00Speaker 4: think they lost the game. They just didn't finish a game,
- 4:03Speaker 4: and that's– could that lead to something different tomorrow?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Maybe. That's probably it.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I didn't see– I guess the MO of the Brewers
- 4:16Speaker 3: is they just never give in. They never give in.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I saw a few too many in the, let's see, 10th,
- 4:24Speaker 3: 11th inning, 9th, 10th, 11th inning. More pop-ups than I'm
- 4:28Speaker 3: used to seeing from this team. Did they change their approach?
- 4:32Speaker 3: At the plate, like, hey, we got to try to
- 4:36Speaker 3: win it here. I don't know. Obviously, they end up
- 4:39Speaker 3: hitting the home run that looked like it was going
- 4:41Speaker 3: to win it. But I don't know. You can nitpick
- 4:46Speaker 3: the errors. But what you can't do is glass over
- 4:50Speaker 3: the fact that this team is still in control. The
- 4:55Speaker 3: Rays did something that, you know what, you got to
- 4:57Speaker 3: feel proud of as much as you'll be a little
- 4:59Speaker 3: bit embarrassed of the World Series loss. performance compared to
- 5:03Speaker 3: the brewers they didn't get swept so i mean i
- 5:05Speaker 3: think there's that.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And we've had four games so far in the fall
- 5:13Speaker 2: classic three of them one run games three one run
- 5:17Speaker 2: games one absolute blowout but three one run games close
- 5:23Speaker 2: fun entertaining yeah one of them wasn't i mean for
- 5:26Speaker 2: the brewers fans it was but for a general baseball
- 5:29Speaker 2: watcher after game three I think a lot of people figured, Kratz,
- 5:33Speaker 2: that the Brewers were just going to roll over the
- 5:36Speaker 2: Rays in this one and that they would have the
- 5:39Speaker 2: advantage with a rested bullpen to just be like, boom, boom, boom.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Dustin May giving them a few innings, too. Like, oh,
- 5:45Speaker 2: house money here, no problem. But the offense didn't capitalize. Also,
- 5:50Speaker 2: the Rays pitched well in this game. Griffin Jack's pretty good.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Nick Martinez in there. Baker still holding it down.
- 5:58Speaker 3: That's what I was going to say. My question was,
- 6:00Speaker 3: how do you attack this team? And I think Griffin Jacks'
- 6:04Speaker 3: ability to throw multiple pitches showed the direction. Everything's going
- 6:10Speaker 3: separate directions. When it didn't feel like Drew Rasmussen was
- 6:15Speaker 3: ever able to get into his groove, you're like, oh yeah, sure,
- 6:18Speaker 3: Griffin Jacks will get it done. Nobody thought that was
- 6:21Speaker 3: going to happen, but maybe it's a blueprint for this
- 6:23Speaker 3: team to come out and do what they did. Nick Martinez, again,
- 6:28Speaker 3: comes out and gives this team a needed lift. They
- 6:31Speaker 3: went to him in game one because they trusted him.
- 6:35Speaker 3: He comes out of the pen. Nick Martinez, two innings,
- 6:39Speaker 3: one hit. He's got a 2-8-1 ERA in the postseason here.
- 6:45Speaker 3: And the other part, too, you said the Brewers didn't
- 6:49Speaker 3: hit or the bats didn't get going today. Well, The
- 6:54Speaker 3: Rays actually got Brian Baker in the game. If you're
- 6:56Speaker 3: a thin bullpen, if you're thin on pitching and you
- 7:01Speaker 3: never get maybe one of your top three pitchers besides
- 7:05Speaker 3: like Peralta, Rasmussen, and then Baker, if he never gets
- 7:10Speaker 3: in the game, how are you ever able to keep
- 7:13Speaker 3: this Brewers lineup at bay? It's good he got in
- 7:17Speaker 3: there tonight, two innings. Has he cooked for tomorrow because
- 7:20Speaker 3: he hasn't gone two full innings? once this entire season?
- 7:26Speaker 4: Listen, and Scotty, I just want to, you asked me
- 7:30Speaker 4: a question, what I can nitpick about the Brewers.
- 7:32Speaker 1: There's one thing I totally forgot about this. Two through
- 7:35Speaker 1: five hitters.
- 7:36Speaker 4: 0 for 17 for the Brewers. That's a recipe for
- 7:42Speaker 4: a not successful game right there. Since they've, the whole
- 7:46Speaker 4: team has been absolutely in fuego. So, I mean, you
- 7:48Speaker 4: think of your top dogs right now, Those are the
- 7:52Speaker 4: guys that got to get going a little bit.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And guess what? They won three games. So, you sit back. Okay, fine.
- 7:58Speaker 4: But 2-3, 4-5. Bowers, Yelich, Contreras, Terang, 0-17. So, that–
- 8:07Speaker 4: and if they would have won that game, it still–
- 8:08Speaker 4: it would have been like, wow, this team is truly
- 8:10Speaker 4: that unbelievable. They deserve it. They still do.
- 8:14Speaker 1: But 0-17, 2-5, can't happen.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I'm going to nitpick, if I may. I got some things.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So first off, I know you're up 3-0, but how
- 8:29Speaker 2: did we get to Shane Drayan? Just because it's extras,
- 8:33Speaker 2: we're out of pitchers? Is there any creativity? We have
- 8:36Speaker 2: some fans in the chat that are like, I can't
- 8:38Speaker 2: just throw Miz out there for an inning or two
- 8:40Speaker 2: and just end this thing. It's not the craziest thought.
- 8:45Speaker 2: You have your opportunity, you have a one-run lead.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Do you think, would you have done that, Kratz?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Nope. No?
- 8:52Speaker 3: That was my answer. No, I don't know about you, Todd,
- 8:54Speaker 3: but I don't do it. No.
- 8:56Speaker 2: No.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I don't do it.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:59Speaker 4: You're up closer to series, yes, but you're up 3-0.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Your bullpen should figure out a way to win that,
- 9:06Speaker 4: on both sides. Your bullpen should figure out a way
- 9:09Speaker 4: to win that game. And whoever you bring in, that's
- 9:11Speaker 4: why you're there in the World Series, so. I want
- 9:16Speaker 4: him starting a game to win the World Series if
- 9:19Speaker 4: he has to do it, yes.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And, I mean, the– yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Don't mess with the Drohan. Hasn't pitched. One inning in
- 9:29Speaker 3: a month. I know you put him in a tough spot,
- 9:34Speaker 3: but I just– it was an unlikely scenario that you
- 9:40Speaker 3: were going to– and this is where– Was Chad Patrick
- 9:43Speaker 3: the better option than Big Woo? Could he have gone
- 9:46Speaker 3: back-to-back nights? Chad Patrick wasn't necessarily, like, just the veteran
- 9:51Speaker 3: bullpen presence. Like, this was a guy that started, was
- 9:54Speaker 3: coming out of the pen. So people were like, well,
- 9:57Speaker 3: if they didn't put Big Wu on there, he could have,
- 9:59Speaker 3: whoever that person was, could have thrown back-to-back nights. Maybe, maybe.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Big Wu couldn't have thrown back-to-back nights? Big Wu, they
- 10:12Speaker 3: were not going to do Big Wu back-to-back nights.
- 10:14Speaker 1: No way.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So, okay, I know this is hindsight, but you're up
- 10:18Speaker 2: nine runs. Like, Big Wu is your garbage time guy
- 10:22Speaker 2: to get the inning. Like, it's him. It's Drohan who
- 10:25Speaker 2: hasn't pitched. Obviously, Woodruff hasn't pitched since July 4th. And
- 10:29Speaker 2: Kyle Harrison hasn't pitched the entire postseason. That's three guys
- 10:32Speaker 2: that are, I don't want to say rusty, but.
- 10:36Speaker 3: It can't be. It can't be Drohan. To me, I
- 10:38Speaker 3: think out of those three guys in the ninth inning,
- 10:41Speaker 3: there's three guys that are not coming back on one day.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And so I think you waste big woo and you get–
- 10:48Speaker 3: I mean, there's a chance you can get four innings
- 10:50Speaker 3: out of Drohan and Harrison. I don't know how good
- 10:54Speaker 3: of innings, but.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Guys, I brought it up before.
- 10:59Speaker 4: If you throw the ball to first base, it's one out.
- 11:01Speaker 4: It changes the whole inning. And it might even change
- 11:03Speaker 4: the whole World Series. Listen, that's nitpicking. And it's a
- 11:09Speaker 4: good nitpick.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Field the ball. Ortiz went backhand, looked at the ball
- 11:13Speaker 1: a little bit, a little nonchalant. And you know what?
- 11:16Speaker 1: I've been there before. I feel pretty good. I made
- 11:18Speaker 1: a nice play.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Boom.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Let the ball go. You're like, oh, shoot. You know
- 11:23Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 11:24Speaker 4: And you can't think that Bauer's going to pick every
- 11:27Speaker 4: darn ball at first base. You have to be able
- 11:30Speaker 4: to make that backhanded throw. Get the ball to him.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Long hop him.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Something.
- 11:37Speaker 4: I'm not blaming Johan here. I'm not blaming the pick.
- 11:40Speaker 4: I'm blaming the error. You make that play, it's one out,
- 11:43Speaker 4: you're two outs away, now the pressure is back on
- 11:45Speaker 4: Tampa Bay.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I have another nitpick, and actually it's perfect timing. Ruben
- 11:50Speaker 2: in the chat brought it up. There were no good options.
- 11:52Speaker 2: The mistake was McGill for one batter. Remember, we were
- 11:57Speaker 2: drawing up what this was going to look like on
- 11:59Speaker 2: the earlier FT before the game, Kratz, and we're like, oh,
- 12:03Speaker 2: you got Ashby for a few innings. You can get
- 12:05Speaker 2: a couple innings out of McGill. They only got one batter.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Out of McGill.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Do we know that McGill's okay?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I mean, is anyone really okay?
- 12:16Speaker 1: No one.
- 12:17Speaker 3: The only reason I ask, the only reason I ask
- 12:19Speaker 3: is there's a repetitive narrative that while Ashby is the
- 12:24Speaker 3: great choice and I'm watching the video of all the
- 12:28Speaker 3: booze getting rolled out of the clubhouse for the Brewers. Sorry,
- 12:32Speaker 3: I was distracted, but there's a, I mean, if it,
- 12:39Speaker 3: if it, If it looks like a pig and stinks
- 12:42Speaker 3: like a pig, it must be a pig. They didn't
- 12:45Speaker 3: go to him in a safe situation after Ashby was
- 12:50Speaker 3: too scoreless against the Dodgers. They kept Ashby out there again,
- 12:55Speaker 3: extending him. They go to him for one inning. I
- 13:00Speaker 3: wonder if they're trying to not overextend him. Because I'm
- 13:06Speaker 3: trying to remember who the at-bat was against for Ashby. Like,
- 13:11Speaker 3: what was that matchup that they were like, no more McGill.
- 13:18Speaker 3: We got the one out. And then going to that
- 13:21Speaker 3: where you wouldn't have McGill back out there again.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like McGill's okay. And, yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 2: are you anticipating 12 innings? No. But just saying, on
- 13:31Speaker 2: a bullpen day when you've got the boys rested– You
- 13:34Speaker 2: just don't want to be in a spot where you're
- 13:36Speaker 2: in the 12th and you're using a guy who's biffed
- 13:38Speaker 2: once in the past month. I think he was dealing
- 13:40Speaker 2: with a little thing, a little elbow thing at one point.
- 13:44Speaker 2: So it just feels like you're watching that and you're like, oh,
- 13:47Speaker 2: they're screwed.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Is Ashby done for tonight? I mean, now that we're
- 13:52Speaker 3: talking about tonight. Tomorrow night? Game five? Two and a third?
- 13:58Speaker 1: With an off day? I don't know.
- 14:00Speaker 3: No off day. Oh, you mean the next day is
- 14:03Speaker 3: an off day?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Right.
- 14:06Speaker 2: 31 pitches, not 51 pitches.
- 14:07Speaker 1: 31 pitches.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Nah, he can pitch tomorrow.
- 14:11Speaker 1: If it's a necessity, I think they will.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I don't even think it's that. I think, is he
- 14:16Speaker 2: going to give you three innings? Not necessarily, but I
- 14:19Speaker 2: think you've got another 20, 25 pitches out of him,
- 14:24Speaker 2: an inning, maybe two if it's economical. He certainly didn't
- 14:28Speaker 2: look stressed. Sometimes you're watching the body language and all that.
- 14:34Speaker 2: It's free and easy right now. He feels autopilot. I
- 14:38Speaker 2: think you're definitely good for at least an inning, maybe two.
- 14:41Speaker 2: We'll see how they draw it up. Now you've got
- 14:43Speaker 2: a fully locked and loaded Miz for the next one.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Martinez pitched. We'll see how the Rays keep drawing up. Obviously,
- 14:52Speaker 2: you've got to get through this one. This is what
- 14:57Speaker 2: we talked about. If they can win Game 5... And
- 15:00Speaker 2: I know they certainly handled Drew and Freddie, but if
- 15:04Speaker 2: they can get through game five, you do have Rasmussen
- 15:06Speaker 2: and Freddie Peralta. They're not too shabby.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I mean, I want to give credit to Chandler Simpson too, man.
- 15:13Speaker 4: This guy looks comfortable to play. He had a chance
- 15:16Speaker 4: to get a bunt down. He said, all right, I
- 15:18Speaker 4: didn't do it. Nice swings, man. I was going to,
- 15:22Speaker 4: if they didn't win the game, I was going to
- 15:24Speaker 4: bring up a couple of things with him. I thought
- 15:26Speaker 4: he made a couple of mistakes, but Can't do it
- 15:29Speaker 4: because guess what? They won the game. So give this
- 15:33Speaker 4: guy credit. His swing looks pretty darn good right now,
- 15:36Speaker 4: and he's standing a little taller, and he's not afraid
- 15:39Speaker 4: to hit with two strikes.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Fun to watch. Fun ball player to watch. Made a
- 15:44Speaker 1: nice play in the outfield.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Do you think there's alleviated pressure, the fact that he
- 15:50Speaker 3: got moved down in the order?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Maybe. Maybe.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I still thought he was hitting well, but it's like,
- 15:57Speaker 4: I'm waiting for a Ronda, man. I know he's got
- 15:59Speaker 4: a couple hits, but no RBIs. I thought he was
- 16:03Speaker 4: going to come up and win it there in the
- 16:06Speaker 4: 11th once Mateo stole second base.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I'm like, all right.
- 16:11Speaker 4: He hit a hard ball, the one before that. I'm
- 16:14Speaker 4: just not seeing... For me, from an outside looking in,
- 16:19Speaker 4: body language for me is a big part, and I'm
- 16:21Speaker 4: just not seeing the energy from him I've seen before.
- 16:24Speaker 1: That's all. So hopefully... This gets him kick-started. And we'll
- 16:28Speaker 1: see where Caminero is tomorrow. Today. Whatever. Right. Whatever.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Chandler Simpson plays a nice left field, too. I mean,
- 16:37Speaker 2: they talked about it a couple times on the broadcast
- 16:39Speaker 2: over the last couple days. But he really struggled. I mean,
- 16:42Speaker 2: he was an infielder originally. A natural infielder. And then
- 16:46Speaker 2: he was trying to learn outfield and was struggling with it.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And it was a big reason why they optioned him.
- 16:52Speaker 2: And then he's... a gold glove candidate nowadays, right? Last
- 16:56Speaker 2: year was a struggle for him. He looks good out there.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I mean, crats, you would expect him to.
- 17:00Speaker 1: He's fast.
- 17:01Speaker 2: He's got good baseball IQ on the bases, all that. Like,
- 17:04Speaker 2: he's learning the position. No, you wouldn't expect someone like
- 17:07Speaker 2: that to figure it out out there.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, but... Just because you're fast doesn't mean that
- 17:14Speaker 3: you're going to be a good outfielder. It just means
- 17:16Speaker 3: that you have the ability to learn and you have
- 17:19Speaker 3: to be able to get those reads. Especially nowadays, before
- 17:22Speaker 3: scouts could be like, oh man, I love how many
- 17:25Speaker 3: balls this guy gets to. And other people would be like,
- 17:27Speaker 3: you know, his jumps aren't very good. The fact that
- 17:31Speaker 3: now we have all the metrics, all the Hawkeye cam
- 17:34Speaker 3: to be able to tell you how fast your jump was,
- 17:37Speaker 3: all that stuff, he can't. made a concerted effort to
- 17:40Speaker 3: learn the position and to go from one of the
- 17:43Speaker 3: worst left fielders, if not the worst left fielder or
- 17:46Speaker 3: one of the worst outfielders, I'm not sure what the
- 17:48Speaker 3: stat was, to a Gold Glove finalist. It shows that
- 17:52Speaker 3: he put in that work to do the things that
- 17:54Speaker 3: make his speed shine. If you're just fast, you can
- 17:59Speaker 3: run after balls and make up for mistakes. He's taken
- 18:02Speaker 3: it to the next level where he's able to get
- 18:05Speaker 3: good jumps and then his speed makes him elite.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Well, let's keep talking about the Rays, but first off,
- 18:12Speaker 2: to finish up Full Count, it's fueled by Marathon, where
- 18:15Speaker 2: fun runs on full. Save up to $ 1 a gallon
- 18:18Speaker 2: with Marathon rewards. We're still going on the post-game show,
- 18:22Speaker 2: don't worry. And if you're a Rays fan right now,
- 18:24Speaker 2: and you want a little hope, or you want a
- 18:26Speaker 2: good time on a t-shirt, FoulTerritoryShop.com. If you're listening to
- 18:31Speaker 2: the podcast version of this, I encourage you to at
- 18:33Speaker 2: least check out the website. If you're watching on YouTube
- 18:36Speaker 2: right now, you like some of the designs... Yandi's on there.
- 18:39Speaker 2: These are officially licensed player merch. And then we've got
- 18:43Speaker 2: some cool team ideas as well, like the AL pennant shirt.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And then the big seller actually has been the local
- 18:50Speaker 2: stingray in a great mood. That one on the right.
- 18:54Speaker 2: It's a cute one.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's done well.
- 18:55Speaker 2: All right, let's keep going here. Player of the game
- 19:00Speaker 2: powered by MLB nine innings, 26. Do you give a
- 19:04Speaker 2: player of the game to the walk-off dude automatically or
- 19:07Speaker 2: do Is there more depth for you here, Kratz? Is it, hey,
- 19:11Speaker 2: Ben Williamson, hop off the bench and give us a
- 19:14Speaker 2: little walk-off, see you for the next one, or do
- 19:18Speaker 2: you give it to someone else?
- 19:19Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's cool, but I think it's
- 19:22Speaker 3: either Griffin Jacks or Nick Martinez for what they did
- 19:26Speaker 3: out of the pen. I mean, I got to– I
- 19:29Speaker 3: think Chandler Simpson would probably be up there just because
- 19:31Speaker 3: he had three hits, but I think– I think for me,
- 19:36Speaker 3: it's Griffin Jacks because he did something that no Ray
- 19:42Speaker 3: pitcher has done and looked like he was in control
- 19:46Speaker 3: of this lineup. He wasn't perfect. And you'll go back
- 19:52Speaker 3: and you'll go, ah, two runs, four innings. But the
- 19:56Speaker 3: fact that he was able to get six punch outs,
- 19:58Speaker 3: the fact that he was able to go four innings
- 20:01Speaker 3: and he gets clipped by David Hamilton, I think he
- 20:05Speaker 3: set a tone for the rest of the pitchers I
- 20:08Speaker 3: know hitting is confidence and hitting is watching the other
- 20:11Speaker 3: guys have success. I think for him tonight, he was
- 20:16Speaker 3: able to do something that it made it look like
- 20:19Speaker 3: for the other pitchers, you know what? We can get
- 20:22Speaker 3: after this lineup too. Jax did it.
- 20:24Speaker 1: We can do it.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I would agree with everything you said, but it
- 20:30Speaker 4: was one of those games where it was kind of
- 20:34Speaker 4: low scoring as we saw. I would give it a
- 20:36Speaker 4: big Big Ben Williamson. That's what I would do just
- 20:40Speaker 4: because it's a walk-off. Nobody really took advantage of certain
- 20:45Speaker 4: innings until the last inning. I would give it to him. Hopefully,
- 20:52Speaker 4: more sign to come for them Tampa Bay Rays.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You never know.
- 20:56Speaker 2: DeLuca maybe gets a top three slot here for the
- 21:00Speaker 2: defense and then the tying RBI single up the middle
- 21:03Speaker 2: to make this 3-3. giving him some love too.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a plethora of guys that you could pick.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And that's a really good sign for the Tampa Bay Rays.
- 21:13Speaker 4: That is great. That means they're starting to play a
- 21:16Speaker 4: little bit more team ball. When we can't decide who
- 21:19Speaker 4: it is, that is fantastic. So good for them.
- 21:22Speaker 3: So are they backed on further?
- 21:24Speaker 1: Go ahead. Two questions.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Oh, no, no. I was just going to say, do
- 21:28Speaker 3: you send him there? Mine's long-term.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yeah. What's that?
- 21:32Speaker 3: I'm trying to think who got the hit. Who got
- 21:35Speaker 3: the hit that tied it? DeLuca got the hit that
- 21:37Speaker 3: tied it.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Okay. No, no, no.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Okay, so Simpson's hit. Do you send Hicks knowing who
- 21:46Speaker 3: you have coming up? You have 7, 8, 9 in
- 21:48Speaker 3: your lineup. Do you try to– I know it's a catcher.
- 21:52Speaker 4: No, I think it was a heck of a play
- 21:54Speaker 4: by Cherio in center. That backhanded play, that was really good.
- 21:58Speaker 1: No, you get– no, no, no.
- 21:59Speaker 2: No.
- 22:00Speaker 1: No, don't even try. Don't do that.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Don't do that.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Do you guys think there's any semblance of a chance that–
- 22:09Speaker 2: I don't even want to say that the Rays come
- 22:10Speaker 2: back because that's only happened once ever in a best-of-seven
- 22:13Speaker 2: and baseball's been around for a long time. But do
- 22:15Speaker 2: you think there's a chance that this goes back to Milwaukee?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Like can they grab one more?
- 22:21Speaker 4: Pressure's still on Tampa Bay right now. I'm reading somebody
- 22:25Speaker 4: writing me on there. Oh, the pressure's back on the Brewers.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I said, no, no, no.
- 22:29Speaker 4: If Tampa wins tomorrow, which riding high, they're facing Miz,
- 22:35Speaker 4: it's going to be very hard. Don't get me wrong.
- 22:38Speaker 4: If they can get to him, the pressure does turn
- 22:41Speaker 4: back to the Brewers going at home, knowing that if
- 22:43Speaker 4: they do lose that game, it is a game seven.
- 22:46Speaker 4: So I think the Miz is going to have a
- 22:49Speaker 4: fantastic game tomorrow. I think it might be over tomorrow
- 22:54Speaker 4: with him on the mound. You've got to feel really,
- 22:57Speaker 4: really good if you're a Brewers fan.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Management, and fans.
- 23:02Speaker 2: It could be Rasmussen too. How many pitches did Rasmussen go?
- 23:06Speaker 2: I mean, he didn't go deep into that last start.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Some people in the chat are like, do they see
- 23:11Speaker 2: if Drew's got.
- 23:13Speaker 3: He went three innings.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Right, he got knocked out in the third. Yeah, he
- 23:19Speaker 2: pulled it up while we're chatting here. I mean, some
- 23:21Speaker 2: people are like, they're not.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Going to do that. He throws well at home too,
- 23:24Speaker 1: but yes.
- 23:24Speaker 2: They're going to have to piece it together. Somebody's got
- 23:29Speaker 2: to be a big dog for them.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 2: How many pitches?
- 23:36Speaker 3: It's not, it's not happening for me. I thought it
- 23:40Speaker 3: was like, I thought he was still up at like
- 23:42Speaker 3: 80 something.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I thought they were 89.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Oh, 89.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's still up.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I thought they worked the count pretty hard.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But that's, yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I have three pitches tonight.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I mean, it's all.
- 23:59Speaker 2: No, no. nothing you you can't even get a two
- 24:03Speaker 2: three innings out of him and no.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 4: You get two or three out of them yeah you're
- 24:11Speaker 4: gonna know that you go 30 35 to 50 for sure.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah i mean you know nick well todd father he's
- 24:17Speaker 2: bounced around like he can kind of do it.
- 24:19Speaker 4: All yeah but that might be then he might need
- 24:24Speaker 4: to be off on game six.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 24:28Speaker 2: If you get to a game six, bro, and you've
- 24:30Speaker 2: got Rasmussen and Freddie P, like, I mean, I'm going
- 24:34Speaker 2: to Nick. That's one of my first guys. Like, hey,
- 24:36Speaker 2: what do you have for me in game five? Because
- 24:39Speaker 2: this is the piece of together game that's going to
- 24:40Speaker 2: get a little wobbly for us.
- 24:43Speaker 4: And Nick's going to put his hat in the pot
- 24:44Speaker 4: and say, I'll do whatever you need. And that's the
- 24:46Speaker 4: type of guy he is.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Is this the game? Because this is do or die again.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I know Drew Rasmussen, if he doesn't pitch in this
- 24:56Speaker 2: next one, would obviously be starting in game six.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:02Speaker 2: You could get an inning out of Freddie in this
- 25:05Speaker 2: next one.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Because that would be– yeah. This would be his
- 25:13Speaker 3: start day or his bullpen day. But here's what we're
- 25:17Speaker 3: leaning on. This goes back to the original question. Do
- 25:23Speaker 3: you start Nick Martinez? Because guess who's coming back right
- 25:27Speaker 3: now for game five if you started Drew Rasmussen? Drew Rasmussen.
- 25:34Speaker 3: So I get it. It didn't work out. The Brewers
- 25:38Speaker 3: have been the better team so far.
- 25:40Speaker 1: But I.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Don't know. I don't know.
- 25:46Speaker 1: It's 3-1. I mean.
- 25:48Speaker 2: History says this is still a done deal, but it's
- 25:52Speaker 2: fun to speculate and just try to piece together what
- 25:54Speaker 2: this is going to look like for the Rays to
- 25:56Speaker 2: hold down their Brewers. Are the Brewers finally a little
- 25:58Speaker 2: bit cold with their lineup or did they have one
- 26:00Speaker 2: off night out of many, many where they've thrived? So
- 26:03Speaker 2: I think Brewers fans are still feeling pretty good. Let's
- 26:09Speaker 2: say thank you to MLB nine innings, 26 for helping
- 26:13Speaker 2: us out with this one. Momentum shifting pitches, game, changing swings,
- 26:18Speaker 2: trout at the plate, Kershaw on the mound, new generation
- 26:20Speaker 2: of fireballers led by skeins in the game. Prove your stats,
- 26:23Speaker 2: experience perfect contact and clutch moments like never before. MLB
- 26:26Speaker 2: nine innings, 26, go to your phone's app store to
- 26:29Speaker 2: download the game. And yeah, and we got a lot
- 26:31Speaker 2: more to go in terms of talking about the next one.
- 26:33Speaker 2: There's a one to three Eastern FT on Wednesday.
- 26:38Speaker 1: What day is that? Wednesday. I got it. Yes. Yes. Wednesday.
- 26:45Speaker 3: You started out tough with the home run call, but
- 26:47Speaker 3: you're back.
- 26:48Speaker 1: You're totally back. Oh, yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I did botch that. And props on the way out.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I mean, we would have been talking about him for
- 26:54Speaker 2: most of the show. But Cooper Pratt, I mean, have
- 26:56Speaker 2: a game, dude. One-man machine. He's racking hits.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Love his swing right now.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I mean, did he bring himself into the MVP conversation?
- 27:09Speaker 2: No. William Contreras has an OPS above a thousand. And
- 27:14Speaker 2: aside from that one millimeter off, I mean, he is
- 27:17Speaker 2: just ridiculous. You know what though? My favorite one he
- 27:20Speaker 2: did was which one Ashby was at the breaker that
- 27:24Speaker 2: dropped into the top of the zone on the ABS.
- 27:28Speaker 2: You saw that one where he like, I did like the,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I think he stopped for a sec and then put
- 27:33Speaker 2: it down. Cause he's like, all right, that's a little different,
- 27:36Speaker 2: but I think those curves can land like that at
- 27:39Speaker 2: the top of his own. And he clipped it.
- 27:43Speaker 3: I want to know– I can't wait to find out
- 27:45Speaker 3: tomorrow how many challenges, regardless of the extra innings, how
- 27:52Speaker 3: many challenges the players got right tonight from both teams combined.
- 27:57Speaker 3: So it was not James Hoy who did the– who
- 28:02Speaker 3: was the umpire with the check swing call. Just saying.
- 28:07Speaker 3: It was definitely– you texted us in the chat. Man,
- 28:10Speaker 3: where were we before ABS challenges?
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I texted a few friends. I said, man, we
- 28:17Speaker 2: used to have a sport where you couldn't challenge some
- 28:20Speaker 2: of those misses. It's a good time. It's a good time.
- 28:24Speaker 2: And Contreras is the poster boy for it because he
- 28:26Speaker 2: just loves it.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I mean, every pitch, he's like, he's going to hold it. Okay,
- 28:32Speaker 3: you called it. That's fine. That's fine.
- 28:34Speaker 2: He's thinking about it. Hey, so for FT, we'll let
- 28:37Speaker 2: you know the third guest, but two of them already
- 28:39Speaker 2: locked in. Brewers and TBS play-by-play, Brian Anderson, who knows
- 28:43Speaker 2: this Milwaukee team front and back. Also, for our continuation
- 28:48Speaker 2: of talking to Yankees, or not Yankees, but Arizona Fall
- 28:51Speaker 2: League prospects, we have a Yankees prospect named Cor Jackson.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Cor Jackson. And Cor is like his middle name, but
- 28:57Speaker 2: he goes by Cor. We'll ask him about it.
- 28:59Speaker 1: We'll get to know him. Subscribe. It's great.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Great big league name. Subscribe to FT. If you're watching
- 29:05Speaker 2: us right now, we're up late. The crew is working hard.
- 29:07Speaker 2: It's one Oh three East coast time. And we have
- 29:10Speaker 2: a show in 10 hours. We'll be live again.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Nope.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Make that 12 hours. We'll be live again.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Did I get that? One o'clock to one o'clock. That's it.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Thanks everyone for watching. Thanks to Todd, father Kratz and
- 29:25Speaker 2: everybody else for watching the game. And we'll see you
- 29:27Speaker 2: for another one. Game five before the lockout.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Sleep fast.
- 29:32Speaker 4: We want more.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Thank you.
