- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dogs podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: Josh, all your host today, happy Tuesday of everybody's week as kicked off to a good start.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: Shoutout, congratulations to the Indiana Hoosiers on a national championship victory over the Miami hurricane's last night.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_03]: That was a game.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: That was a game.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: That was a defensive battle for the vast majority of that game.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: We really didn't get any sort of
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: you know, those explosive or highlight offensive moments until really the second half and then man, that fourth down call from Kurt Signetti and the Hoosiers when Fernando Mendoza took off and not only did he pick up the first down,
- 1:09[SPEAKER_03]: but he bounced off some would-be tacklers, dives into the end zone, takes a shot, couple shots, honestly, from a couple guys, diving and trying to stop him, scores the touchdown, what an iconic moment, what an iconic season for the Hoosiers to win their first ever national championship, they beat the Hurricanes 27 to 21.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: I did see an interesting thing after the game, I guess it was this morning from Fernando Mendoza
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: he said that they were expecting the hurricane has come out in a specific defense and he had a play call where if the defense was showing zone then he would do one thing either throw or run I can't remember which it was and then if it was man coverage he was going to do the other so I think it was if it was zone he was going to throw.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: And if it was man, he was going to run.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember exactly what I was.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, and he came out and he said so what they did is half of the defense dropped in zone and the other half went man
- 2:11[SPEAKER_03]: And that was his priest and every and he said, you know what, screw it, I'm betting on myself.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm taking this thing and he said something like I'm going to die on that field.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the mentality of Fernando Mendoza.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_03]: I know he's kind of quirky and I know he gets, you know, ridden a little bit hard by people out there for someone his post game interviews and the way he's emotional and things like that.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, Fernando Mendoza's a stone cold baller.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_03]: I've watched so much Indiana football this year, and especially this playoff run, starting back in the big 10 championship, we get against my Ohio State buck guys, the kid just wins.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: He makes throws.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_03]: He gets it done when it's on the line, and that's what you're looking for in a quarter back at the next level.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_03]: So congratulations to Indiana, and obviously, as a buck guy's fan, I'm sitting there going, well, these are the two teams that beat us this year.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_03]: hats off to them and it was a great game fun game let me know in the comments what you guys thought about the national championship we've got head coaching stuff to talk about here today we've got some voice mails to get to a message from the website and i want to
- 3:20[SPEAKER_03]: I wanna address the, and I didn't realize it was being like this in the moment on Sunday night when we did our live show.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_03]: I've gotten so much feedback from you guys out there about the negativity on that episode.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: Mainly, I think from Blake about how this team might as well just folded in.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why we're even rooting for that many more type of mentality.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I wanna address that.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna talk about it.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_03]: And then we'll dive into your voice, Melson, everything going on with this coaching shirt.

- 5:06[SPEAKER_03]: So join the dogs dot com.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let's dive into this head coaching search.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: I want to bring everybody up to speed here because things change rapidly in the new cycle especially with the NFL.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_03]: They sure know how to space these things out and give us news constantly.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_03]: So the Brown's current head coaching tracker situation.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: had a second interview with Jim Schwartz, the Browns Defensive Coordinator, obviously.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_03]: That was yesterday, Monday, Tuesday is the scheduled second interview for Todd Munkin, the offensive coordinator for the Ravens, a name that I would really like the Browns to get off of their list.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not thrilled.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm sure you guys aren't either.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: I've actually seen nobody.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_03]: I have not seen one advocate for Todd Munkin.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_03]: I don't understand what they're doing.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why we're wasting our time.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't satisfy the Rooney rule.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, what are we doing?
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: With Todd, my and I'm not saying that, you know, you should hire your interview people just to satisfy the Rooney rule.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_03]: But I see no benefit.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_03]: That's my point.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_03]: I see no benefit.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: In.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_03]: interviewing Todd Munkin.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: I don't get it.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_03]: I don't get it.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_03]: Tomorrow Wednesday is the second scheduled interview for Mike McDaniel.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_03]: the former dolphins head coach.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I'm going to kind of enter mix this stuff because I did a short video on this the other day, but if you didn't see that, I'll tell you now the Rooney role.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about this.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_03]: We haven't really addressed this on the show yet.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_03]: The Rooney rule in the NFL states that you must interview at least two minority coaches for your open head coach position
- 6:58[SPEAKER_03]: hiring John Harball, they had already interviewed two minority candidates for the job, so they were able to make that hire when they did it.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns have not yet done that.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I know people out there were saying, wow, a dirty and neat showhouse.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: They interviewed these guys.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_03]: They interviewed them virtually.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_03]: That's the other point of the Rooney rule.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_03]: The interviews to count for the Rooney rule must be in person.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns have not held any interviews in person yet.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_03]: until yesterday was the first one.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, I take that back.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_03]: The interviews they did with Jim Schwartz and Tommy Reese in the first round.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I don't have this confirmed, but I don't understand why those would not have been.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_03]: in person there in Buria.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_03]: But all the other outside interviews, all of those have been virtual up to this point.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_03]: Today with Todd Munkin, as far as I understand, it will be the first external candidate to have an in-person interview with the Brown.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_03]: So tomorrow on Wednesday is Mike McDaniel.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_03]: Now Mike McDaniel does count to the Rooney rule because he is biracial.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_03]: He's
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: My ass is mom black as dad's black.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember now.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_03]: I looked it up the other day and I totally forget.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's a scapey me, but either way Mike McDaniel is biracial and he'll be coming in for his second interview tomorrow.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: Now the Browns have a second interview scheduled.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: Look at this.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if these are actually scheduled.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_03]: They have second interview requests.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think they're actually having to say anything to say they're hard scheduled yet, but with Jesse Mentor, the defensive coordinator for the Chargers, Grant Eudinsky, the offensive coordinator for the Jaguars, that's my guys who I want them to hire, and Nate Sheelhouse, the Rams Passing Game Coordinator.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_03]: Now real quick, they just just remind everybody they've already completed interviews, first round interviews with Tommy Reese, Dan pitcher, who's the Bangles offensive coordinator, feels like he is no longer a part of the head coaching search for the Browns, still named to keep in mind for the offensive coordinator position.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, Aiden Dirty, who I mentioned, the Seahawks defensive coordinator.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: So, that wraps things up for the Browns, the Marriquet Cabot was out there last week.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_03]: This weekend.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: Reporting that Tommy Reese is likely or could possibly, I don't know, how she would word it up.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_03]: Follow Kevin Stephanski to be the offensive coordinator in Atlanta.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_03]: Whatever.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: Take him.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really care.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_03]: You guys know how I feel about this coaching staff and everything from the past couple seasons here in Cleveland.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I was ready to move on from everybody, including gym shorts, just everybody.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm, I'm ready.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm, I'm ready for a new regime for a new approach to football in Cleveland.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: What we had with Kevin Stephansky started off great, got stale, just didn't go the way.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: We had hoped it would go.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: It is what it is.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: I'm ready for a new
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: a new future here in Cleveland with the head coach higher.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_03]: We just got report last night that the chiefs actually hired Chattoshe to be their wide receiver coach.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: Chattoshe who is the or was the wide receiver coach slash pass game coordinator under Kevin Stephansky for the last six years.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_03]: So ever since Kevin came to Cleveland, Chattoshe has been in charge of the wide receivers in passing game coordination.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_03]: That's been a point in contention with a lot of Browns fans.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: I've brought it up multiple times on the show, uh, brought it up the other night on the live and Blake was, Blake became the first my first known.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen anybody else, but the first known defender of Chateau Shay.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_03]: And everybody else is like, good red and get the out of here.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm tired of just watching wider severs do nothing for this team, though the two areas on this team that suck the most, wider seaver, and the passing game.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_03]: And that guy was the only position coach to keep his job the entire tenure while Kevin Stephanski was here.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we fired everybody else at all the other offensive position coaching spots and brought in new guys and things like that, Chattoshay stuck around the entire time.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_03]: Crazy, but he's gone now.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: So the, and I said, I'm so sure me either.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: What am I missing that the chiefs wanted him?
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, we'll see, we now get the opportunity to see.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: How does Kevin Stefansky do in a different organization?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: How does he do with the Falcons?
- 11:33[SPEAKER_03]: He's got players, he's got players, and I see all these, now I'm already seeing the post.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: Well, if he just, if he can just get his quarterback, oh my gosh, I'm so sick and tired of hearing the, we'll just get the guy as quarterback.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_03]: We did, we did, we got him doing Gabriel.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_03]: which by the way, I hope the Falcon somehow swing a trade.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: I said this the other day would be such the Andrew Barry specials are trading a backup quarterback for fifth round pick or a late round pick swap.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe the Browns move up in the sixth round and send a seventh round pick to the Falcons with Dylan Gabriel because that's Stefanski's guy.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_03]: We got no use for him.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to be mean about Dylan Gabriel or anything, but that week.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_03]: Really, pick 94 in the third round.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_03]: Could have had Xavier Watts, could have had Jared Wilson.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: We took Dillon Gabriel.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man, this still gives me fired up.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: But who knows, maybe Andrew Barry can undo the wrong with that pick by getting him back on the team with Staphansky in Atlanta.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see how that goes.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: All right, so that's where things currently stand with the Cleveland Brown's head coaching search.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's the plan for the week.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I guess just to recap real quick, because I kind of went through a bunch of things there.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: The six second round head coaches head coaching candidates for the Browns.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: Jim Schwartz, Todd Munkin, Mike McDaniel, Grant Eudinsky, Jesse Mentor, and Nate Sheo House.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_03]: I can tell you right now who I would eliminate immediately off of that list to six.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_03]: My personal top.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_03]: If those are the six guys that are left, here's how it goes.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: I want Todd Monk and obviously office list, goodbye.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: Jim Schwartz, I love you, you've been in great defensive corner.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want you to be the brownside coach.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: So he's off my list.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_03]: Jesse Mentor, we talked about this on Sunday night.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_03]: You were in Michigan with Jim Harball during the cheating scandal.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want anything to do.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want a defensive coach to begin with.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want a defensive head coach.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: Goodbye.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_03]: You're off my list.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_03]: So that leaves Mike McDaniel grant you density in Nate Sheo House.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I know Blake was just poo pooing all over the young head coaching candidates and everything the other night in my opinion.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_03]: This is how you get that next
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: You know, decade plus, long head coach to really revitalize and turn around your organization is to find, identify, find and take the shot on a young, up and coming guy that we don't know what he's capable of yet because he hasn't done it.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_03]: I like Mike McDaniel to an extent.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_03]: of the my final three out of these six.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_03]: It goes.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_03]: Number one is great.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't ski.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's who I want to be the next brown Ted coach.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_03]: And then for me, number two is Nate Sheelhouse.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just let's take a shot on the young up and come in mind because we don't know what he's capable of.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_03]: It might blow up in our faces and he might suck and we're firing him in two years.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Robert Sala just took the head coach in job in Tennessee.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_03]: He was with the jets from 2001 to 2004, had like a 357 win percentage over the four seasons.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_03]: He was there.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_03]: But they took a shot on a young up and coming defensive guy to come lead their team and it didn't work.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_03]: It didn't work.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: So they fired him.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: They moved on.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: He's getting another shot now elsewhere.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: But this is how the NFL goes with Mike McDaniel.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_03]: I just have my reservations about hiring a guy who was just fired because his team was underperforming and they were having player-only meetings and there was dysfunction and some turmoil and I just, I'm not ready to make that the next-head coach of a team that
- 15:32[SPEAKER_03]: is needing of somebody younger, somebody new, somebody fresh, somebody green.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: To come in here with some new ideas, some different approach, and see what he can do because we'll get into some of this stuff in a minute because I got roster things to talk about and all that kind of stuff.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I said this on Sunday night is just this is also just my personality.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: There's people out there right now that are probably saying, no, I want Jim Schwartz.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_03]: And that's fine.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying you're wrong if you want Jim Schwartz.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying me personally, I don't.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: My personality is much more.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what the young, unproven guy has.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: Because I know what Jim Schwartz did as a head coach is for summer.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_03]: I know what Mike McDaniel did as a head coach is for summer.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just see what somebody else can do.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_03]: let's get some new names into the NFL head coaching circle right now but anyway that's just me that's my approach that's my personality let me know in the comments what you guys think about all this actually real quick to go back to the runny rule.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: the Browns cannot hire a coach until, of course, like I said, they satisfy the two minority candidate requirement for the rule.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: And right now, the only two minority in-person interviews they have scheduled is Mike McDaniel.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_03]: and Nate Schillhouse, Nate Schillhouse, they can't not interview until Monday of next week because the Rams are playing in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, so they can't interview him this week, they have to, and I'm not saying they will interview him on Monday, they can't interview him until at least.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: Monday and does he really want to come all the way to Cleveland for an in-person interview or the day after the NFC championship game winner loop?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be early next week if they get to that point.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: The only way they can hire a coach this week based on their interview schedule is if they hire Mike McDonald.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_03]: Because then obviously if you're hiring a minority coach, you don't need to satisfy the rule.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_03]: You can just hire him.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: So, Mike McDonald is the only head coach that could possibly be hired this week.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_03]: Otherwise if we're not
- 17:36[SPEAKER_03]: We got to wait until we interview Nate Shoehals.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_03]: Next week, I'm seeing a whole lot of stuff about, you know, Mike McDaniel has interviewed for a ton of offensive coordinator jobs.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_03]: That might be a better fit for him.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why Mike McDaniel would want to come coach here.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: You
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: not many people get more than, you know, two-head coaching stints in the NFL, especially if one of them wasn't great.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_03]: You know, guy like Mike McCarthy might be yet another opportunity in Pittsburgh with the Steelers.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of his main focus right now I was reading today, but he also had a long extensive history of success in Green Bay.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: Mike McDaniel doesn't have that and if he comes to Cleveland has another, you know, burnout couple of seasons here, he's probably done.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: So he's got to be smart about what opportunities he takes as well.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: I said the other, I think the Cliff Kingsbury route from Mike McDaniel was much more
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: you know, that that just makes more sense for him.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_03]: That would be more beneficial in my opinion.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: So, be a head coach, you didn't work, it kind of failed.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: Go be an offensive coordinator somewhere, revitalize an offensive team, a young quarterback, whatever, get your name back in the head coaching ringing, then go do your second stand after that.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he'll have that opportunity.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: Browns fans, are you ready to put your money where your predictions are with Kaoshi?

- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: Who will be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns or whatever other team is looking for a head coach?
- 19:14[SPEAKER_03]: Will Fernando Mendoza be the first pick in the NFL draft?

- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: So, just to recap to what else is going on the NFL.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mentioned today came out Robert Sala, the 49ers defensive coordinator just took the job for the Titans, so that's the route.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: They decided to go.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_03]: That's another team off the board.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, John Horrible, with the Giants Kevin Safinski, with the Falcons, and then the fourth team, which this news actually came out last night, Jeff, halfly, the defensive coordinator for the Packers, will be the new head coach for the Miami Dolphins.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: So we've got 10 teams looking for new head coaches this year, four of those spots are filled.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: Now if you watch the show Sunday night or listen to it the other day, we were talking about they're being nine spots.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: Nine teams this this cycle looking for a head coach and a new team the 10th team emerged.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, today, and I'm not going to talk about it I'm going to let my buddy Adam talk about it
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: Hey boys, this is Adam here in El Paso.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to call about some news that just came across my feed.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Sean McDermott is fired in Buffalo.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Sean McDermott 98 wins 50 losses a 500 playoff record.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: Five AFC East title games.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: That coach just got fired in Buffalo and as much as I respect that Buffalo probably wants to win a Super Bowl and This is the way that they feel they're gonna go about it.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like their loss has just turned into a Cleveland opportunity And we'd be stupid to pass up an interview with such a talented coach Want to hear your guys is inside on it and where you guys think this person would sit in the
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: level of precedence that you guys have previously mentioned in other episodes, but yeah, give me your guys this take on it.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited and I hope Cleveland season is this opportunity.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Adam, as he said right there yesterday, the news broke that the Buffalo bills had fired head coach Sean McDermott after the bills lost in Denver on, I guess that was,
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: Sean McDermott and like he's like Adam said there are 98 and 50 record a 662 win percentage over his what is that nine seasons nine seasons with Buffalo started in 2017 when he was 43 years old he is now 51 finished up here in 2025 and done and now becomes immediately the top coach available right now for all of these openings.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_03]: don't expect to see anything about the Browns having an interview lined up with Sean McDermott.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_03]: Just don't expect it.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we talked about this with John Harball.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_03]: just take him off the radar.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_03]: Take him off the list.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_03]: He's, it's a non-factor for the Browns.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: Sean McDermott's not coming to Cleveland.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I know there's history there.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: Back in 2016, I believe the two finalists for the head coaching gig in Cleveland were an unknown up-and-coming young defensive guy named Sean McDermott.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_03]: was one of the two finalists and the browns at the last minute because I believe they were planning to hire Sean McDermott and I forget how everything worked out in the comments.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_03]: You guys go ahead and remind me if you remember better than I do.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns went instead with a coach who had some previous head coaching experience, although it wasn't great, a guy who was the up and coming or not up and coming, I shouldn't say but like he was regarded as the top offensive mind, I'm not trying to draw unfair parallels here.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying this situation reminds me a little bit of how people are looking to Mike McDaniel, like he was a previous head coach.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't have
- 23:48[SPEAKER_03]: The success they were hoping he would, but he's a brilliant offensive mind.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's what the Browns hired in 2016 instead of Sean McDermott.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: They picked Hugh Jackson Hugh, Freaking Jackson, and we all know how that went, not well, not well, not good.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, it didn't even go bad.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_03]: It went horrendously or who were just good.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so Sean McDermott, there's history there with the Browns.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_03]: He ain't coming here, guys.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's not coming here.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's not because the Browns have this super undesirable situation.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: In some regards, it can look like that.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I guess I could talk about that real quick.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_03]: in a minute.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_03]: But it's more to speak to the other openings that are available for a defensive minded coach like a Sean McDermott.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns have this great defense.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: All these great defensive players and all this kind of stuff.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_03]: That would be awesome.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really have the offense figured out whatsoever.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the Steelers are sort of in that same situation.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: Good defensive pieces.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really have the offense.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, who's the quarterback?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody knows.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_03]: They don't have one.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_03]: Neither do we.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_03]: You look at the other openings right now.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Arizona, what are they doing at quarterback?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: They've got some good young pieces on both sides of the ball, but not the most desirable position.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: For a guy-life Sean McDermott, I am looking more at the Ravens.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Ravens could be a very likely landing spot for a guy-life Sean McDermott.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Raiders could be a very good landing spot for a guy-life Sean McDermott.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_03]: You get a good offensive coordinator to come with you.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_03]: And you get the number one overall.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: Overall pick you get for an endoman dose that you've got ascent.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: You've got Brock Bowers and these nice pieces, you can get another receiver in the draft, all this stuff.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_03]: And then you've got Max Cross being some good players on the defensive side of the ball, whatever you want to do.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think those spots look a little more attractive for a coach with Sean McDermott's resume.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see, the most desirable position now is probably Buffalo.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_03]: So we will see who Buffalo decides to start interviewing now that they just threw their hat in the ring for this process.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: But you got to think the bills are number one on a head coaching coaches list.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: The Ravens are number two.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_03]: And then I'm honestly with the capital and the way things are out there probably the Raiders either the Raiders or the Steelers if you want to go with the historical context of Pittsburgh and all that kind of stuff.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_03]: And then probably bringing up the rear here, of course, would be the Cardinals and the Browns kind of vying for that final, you know, which is the worst or least desirable spot and all that kind of stuff.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_03]: And here's what I want to say.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: about the Brown's coaching position being one of the least desirable.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_03]: And here, how about this for a brief period here on the show?
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: If you guys have in the car with your kids or you got kids in the living room with you, on the couch watching this on TV or wherever you're consuming this content, pause this because I'm going to use a little bit of language, okay?
- 27:00[SPEAKER_03]: Use a little language here, because I think it warns it.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_03]: Andrew Barry, Jimmy Haslam, I know you guys don't watch this stuff, so it doesn't matter, but this would be a message to you guys, your team, your organization, your coaching position right now is viewed as the least desirable of the ones remaining because you guys are idiots.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_03]: This is your fault.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: You f***ing did this, okay?
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: This is on you.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: Jimmy has them can stand in front of the media.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: All he wants and talk about how, oh, I know you, I know some of you call this a dysfunctional organization and I take offense to that and blah, blah, blah.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_03]: You Jimmy, you did this.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_03]: You created this culture, this atmosphere, this reputation that people don't want to be a part of this.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_03]: People don't want to come here.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_03]: You fire a head coach every couple of years.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: That's the perceived reality, even though I know we just had Kevin Sefansky for six seasons.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_03]: But this is what you do to yourself, and you're very human.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_03]: This is the reason the Browns are in the least desirable position right now for a head coaching candidate because
- 28:17[SPEAKER_03]: In the league, this is on you.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: This is on you.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_03]: So I, they're better not be anything from Jimmy or Abe.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to hear any excuses.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, you know, this is your fault.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_03]: You did this.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: You, this is what you have built.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_03]: Congratulations, Andrew Barry.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe a lot of the, maybe some of this should be directed at Paul D. Pedesta.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: I, we're going to do this one more time here with Andrew Barry, if this shit doesn't get fixed or look like it's on it's a clear trajectory to being fixed.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: He better be gone.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: He better be gone.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: I, you built the worst offense in the league dude over six years, over six years, you inherited such a good team.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: You inherited a team with a young, number one overall pick, Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, Jr., a young David and Joker, a young prime Nick Chub, a good offensive line pieces, a great defensive pieces, miles, Garrett and Denzel, award in these guys.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: And you fucked it up.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: You tore it to shit and replaced it with nothing.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing over six years.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's why, and I'll back up off my language here.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_03]: So if you guys want to invite your kids back in the room or turn this back up in the car, go right ahead.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_03]: But that's why when I said this team, this organization needed a full house cleaning, I meant front office along with the coaching staff.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let's shift gears here.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think that pretty much covers everything going on with the head coaching stuff right now.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: This message from the website, so Matt Mendoza sent in a message he says, hey, there are dogs just listened to the last episode.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_03]: Just got to bring some positivity to the podcast.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm tired of hearing we're gonna suck next year.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_03]: I get it.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: Our offense was real bad this year.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, or no, yet they went, five and 12.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: A few mistakes go the other way easily could have been in the division race with eight or nine wins.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about that the other night.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: Think about that.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_03]: This awful offense could have easily been a playoff team.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: let negative Blake know.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_03]: I will.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think we are going to be real bad next year.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_03]: We got fan and Sanders, Judge Kins, Bond looks promising also just a few good moves this off season a couple.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: All I am in draft a true number one writer, Sever, and we are right there.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: Something I haven't heard much about is going and getting Alex Alec piers from the Colts.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have to get him from the Colts.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: He is going to be a free agent.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Just wondering what you think about him, but we aren't as far away as some fans might think.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_03]: Things are looking great for our Cleveland Browns new coach coming to the team hopefully you dense ski.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Matt, you're my man.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: You're on board with me.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_03]: Lots of draft fix this coming draft Browns to the Super Bowl.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I know there was a lot of kind of backlash after the episode on Sunday.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_03]: People did not appreciate Blake's negativity throughout the duration of that episode.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: And the one thing I will say kind of in defense of Blake about all this is we have been Brown's fans for a long time.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: I know a lot of you guys have as well.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_03]: Some of you have been fans longer than we have because you're older and obviously.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: some of you are newer fans or you're you know you're just younger you haven't experienced the pain and heartbreak and constant losing that this team has provided us for all these years.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: So from age and that's what we are we are true browns fans lifelong browns fans all of us here on the show and
- 32:07[SPEAKER_03]: That's just what we know.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's just what we know.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: So Blake is calling back to all the past trauma of being a Browns fan and just never being good.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_03]: Never being a good team.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_03]: And the other point I'll make for Blake is
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously if you've watched the show, you know this, he didn't want to fire Kevin Sifansky.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't want the Browns to get rid of him.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_03]: So he's still bitter about that.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_03]: He's upset that we got rid of Kevin.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's probably going to be a full on Falcons fan this year.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: A rooting for Kevin to go in the Super Bowl down there just to prove everybody and Cleveland wrong.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's just kind of where he's coming from.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: You guys know where I stood on that.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it's time to get rid of this guy.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: He's got no accountability for anybody on this on this team and I know like in Matt's message a few mistakes go our way And we're a much better team record-wise this year than just five and twelve.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: Well a lot of that stuff was I mean it goes on coaching.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_03]: It goes on the head coach in game bone head calls and decisions and things like Never should have lost to the Titans
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: Why do we lose to the titan?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_03]: Why do we lose to the jets?
- 33:18[SPEAKER_03]: There were, it was just time.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_03]: It was time to move on.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_03]: Get some fresh coaching in here.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I'm ready to move on from gym shorts too.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't want to retain anybody.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_03]: Anybody unless somebody comes in here and says like a a shocks to say or the defensive line coach, like hey, I really like shock.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_03]: I want to keep him.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_03]: I like the work he's doing with the defensive line.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: That's cool.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_03]: Or if we get a young offensive guy comes in here and said, yeah, I'll keep Jim Schwartz.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_03]: I like him.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think he has a good defensive coach.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm, then I'm okay with it.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_03]: But to just force it, I'm, I'm not there.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not there.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_03]: So let's talk about a little positivity here with the roster.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_03]: Matt, I do agree with you.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_03]: I do agree that this team,
- 34:02[SPEAKER_03]: could be a lot better in 2026 than it feels like coming off of eight wins over two seasons.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: Now a lot of that is going to really hinge on what the Browns decided to do here at head coach.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_03]: What staff that new head coach brings in here and what the planet quarterback is.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_03]: I, one of the reasons why I really like Grant you did scheme and why I want him to be the new head coach is because I have read and listened to a whole lot of things about how he impacted Sam Darnold when he was in Minnesota and there are articles from Minnesota reporters on the, on the, on the Minnesota, you know, the, the people that cover the team up there in Vikings territory.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_03]: and they were very upset that the Vikings lost you didn't ski to the Jaguars and become their OC.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_03]: There were writers questioning how much of Kevin O'Connell's perceived quarterback whispering, which we all, I love Kevin O'Connell, I think is a great coach.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_03]: We think he does great work with the quarterbacks and some people, obviously, the dialed-in tied to Minnesota Vikings writers are questioning in some of these circles.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_03]: How much of that quarterback whispering was on KOC and how much of that quarterback whispering was Grant Yudinsky.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: And then we see great Udinsky go to Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence who look like the most underperforming, disappointing number one overall generational quarterback prospect in recent memory.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: All of a sudden has a career season.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_03]: That's not a coincidence.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_03]: That's not a coincidence.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not taking anything away from Liam Cohen who was the offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay after
- 35:50[SPEAKER_03]: You know, Baker Mayfield continued to have a good season down there under Cohen.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: But we had seen Baker have good seasons before, obviously, it was rookie year in Cleveland, 2023.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_03]: And then we saw, again, the year before that with Canalis in Tampa Bay, we never saw Trevor Lawrence have a great season before.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_03]: I tell this year, and Grant Nudinsky was a part of that.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that the opportunity for the Browns to have a good,
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to say this.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe a better than anticipated performance from the quarterback position would come from higher and grant you density.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_03]: So if the Browns get you density and he brings whatever staff that he, you know, the people he knows and the guys he likes to come here in coach, I don't know what we could expect or should expect from guys like Shidorah Sanders and dare I say it, maybe even to Sean Watson.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: But I have hope optimism and more faith.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe than I should, maybe I'm just a dope.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe I'm just putting blind faith into something.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_03]: But I just, I feel like Grant Yudinsky would have the most potential to get the most potential out of our quarterbacks.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_03]: From what I saw from Shidorah Sanders, this season, it's so hard to evaluate.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: because if you look at efficiency metrics and the deeper analytical data and all that kind of stuff that these stat potent or account and everything post on social media, it wasn't good.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_03]: He was like the worst quarterback in the NFL.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: Per all those data points and metrics and things like that.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_03]: I operate a lot more on the I test, kick and play football.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_03]: You can play quarterback at the NFL level.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: You can make some nice downfield throws.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_03]: He can layer his passes.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_03]: He had the worst offensive line.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_03]: I've probably ever seen play football in the NFL.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_03]: He had the worst wide receiver core.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: You could possibly give a rookie court to pack to work with.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: You had no run game.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: And Blake attributes pretty much all of the offensive deficiencies on the personnel.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's about half and half.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think that the personnel didn't help the situation.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_03]: I also think Kevin's defense scheme and offense was not good.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it's conducive.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it works at the NFL anymore.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see how it looks in Atlanta with better players.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_03]: So that will be a much better test to see how things go.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_03]: But I was not a believer in Kevin's offense and the way he runs the scheme.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm ready for a new up and coming offensive mind to come in here and let's see what we can do because I think we do have the pieces and I think like Matt said here another good off season a good draft get some free agents in here things could be looking much better for the Browns in 2026 then it might feel again coming off of eight wins in two years that doesn't feel good that doesn't feel good got to get the right players in here and we got to get the right leaders that's key
- 39:10[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see, we'll obviously keep you guys posted on everything that's going on with the Browns and who they just had to hire and how this going to impact the team and then it's time to dive into draft prospects and all that kind of stuff which is going to be a ton of fun.

- 42:30[SPEAKER_05]: Hey guys, Cooper Bell, I'm back again, and I just wanted to share some fun facts.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_05]: So fun facts are dogs.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_05]: We have one named Autogram, the Cleveland Browns plan.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_05]: our little puppy that we just got like not not even just like a November.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_05]: His name is now Garrett Sacking.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_05]: Also I can't believe that the buffalo head coach just got freaking fires and whether you saw Cindy y'all were voicemail about that.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_05]: Hope you guys are in the right past.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, that's all.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks, Cooper.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_03]: I glad to hear about your dog.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: Love that you guys name them after Cleveland Browns players And I know you obviously didn't get to watch.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't get to watch out over here.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they're Miles Garrett sack King.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's a really cool one.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_03]: So that's that's a lot of fun.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for sending that in.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_03]: Okay We got a voice note here.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_03]: This one's from Stacy Talking about John Horrible on some other coaching things.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: She sent this in last week So there might be a couple things in here that have already been addressed, but here we go.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_03]: This is Stacy
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guys, I just woke up and saw a little notification saying that John Harball is finalizing a deal with the New York Giants.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, it kind of makes sense.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, I think it does because I feel like they have a couple different pieces in places that are important.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: That maybe we don't have such as the Jackson Dart.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, there have been reports that John Harball has been high on him and was high on him during the draft.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: Malik neighbors as an elite receiver.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: They have a nice running game.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: We have a good running game.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously with Q, but it's just I think our quarterback and our receiver positioner, just a little bit too up in the air for a coach like John Harvall to want to come here in coach, which is fine and that makes sense and it was kind of what I was expecting anyways.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: So my hopes were not super high with Harvall.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: But as far as it comes with coaching,
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, I'm kind of on the same page as Josh.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: I agree that I think that we need to get a young offensive mind in here.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the idea of having a defensive coordinator as our coach just because obviously that's not the side of the ball that we're lacking.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that if we get a good young offensive coach in here is first time coaching, you know, it could be something special.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I do like,
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: the idea of that and hopefully that's throughout the Browns Institute of going.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a huge fan of McDaniel so I'll stay away from him but I just wanted to say it is a positive too that John Harble isn't going to anyone in our division.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he could have gone to the Steelers and he's not going there so that's good.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it also means that Kevin Spansky is not going to the New York Giants.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, I think that's a good thing.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would have been a little annoyed seeing him go to the New York Giants and I'm playing with Jackson Dart, a rookie quarterback, and just making him look like the best thing in the world.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think it's a positive all around.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think that this opens the door for us getting a young offensive mind, which is exactly what I think we need.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Stacey, thanks for the voice mail.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Kevin Goins and New York would have been interesting just because the Brown's clearly passed on, Jackson Dart, and the draft last year, because, again, it's been reported that I'm not making this up just because it fits the narrative.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: Like this is what happened.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_03]: They had freaking Dylan Gabriel, ranked second on their quarterback, board behind Cam Ward.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_03]: So if you guys remember, the Brown spent so much time last year.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: with these quarterback prospects.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, that's the evaluation that came away with.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_03]: So, there's where my skepticism comes from with this team trying to evaluate the quarterback position is that's what you guys came away from.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_03]: Everything?
- 46:22[SPEAKER_03]: Dylan Gabriel, better than Jackson Dark, better than Shador Sanders.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, better than Tyler Shock.
- 46:30[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, whatever.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_03]: We will move on from that.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_03]: So Stacy, thank you for the voice mail.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_03]: Let's move over here.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_03]: This one is from Matthew.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if this is the same Matthew from the website or not, but let's hear what Matthew has to say.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Matthew.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the quick short question.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate that.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yes, I do think there's a possibility that Luke Whippler is on the starting offensive line for the Browns in 2026.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_03]: Why?
- 47:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's a very hard to bring in five completely new starters.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_03]: at the offensive line position because for agency draft you're competing with all the other teams that want to add offensive linemen to the roster you don't just get the pick of the litter to just build up your offensive line we don't have unlimited money we don't have unlimited draft capital so we have got to make it work with guys that have shown capability to do so.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Lou Whiffler has shown that I think there is a possibility he is the starting center, or maybe he shoots over and plays one of the guard positions if we get a Tyler Lyndon Bowman free agency or something like that.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, but right now I would have to say that it, you could probably go ahead and pencil him in as a starter on this offensive line in 2026.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_03]: I say a bond having a bigger role.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely, man.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_03]: I do.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_03]: You know it.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's just tough.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_03]: It just like I said, it was tough to evaluate.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_03]: Should or Sanders truthfully on this offense, it was tough to evaluate a guy like Isaiah Bond.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's playing in a, a mediocre offensive system with not the best quarterback play most the year.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_03]: You got Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel was also, I mean, I mean, I say, a bond's role in the offense as a deep threat as a field stretcher, minus well, I mean, nothing, I mean, with Dylan Gabriel couldn't throw the ball past 10 yards.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_03]: Isaiah Bono didn't become relevant until should or Sanders got into the games and started chucking the ball down the field and hitting him for some deep connections.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I think Isaiah Bono will be more involved in 2026.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's a good young player.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a lot of talent.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: He was like a second, fringe second, maybe third round projected pick.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_03]: I know at one point in the off season last year, it was
- 49:02[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe a fringe first round pick, but I think it would have been second or early third if he had not had the sexual assault Alligation thing going on and all that that you know forced him to go and drafted But I do think the Browns have an opportunity with a guy like Isaiah Bond for sure.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you for those questions and our last voice mail two day is From Aiden Hey guys, what's going on it's Aiden from Indiana and
- 49:30[SPEAKER_06]: I'm coming after the news that Dante Moore is going to be staying at Oregon for another year and of course that's going to change up a lot of mock drafts and of course it might even change up Cleveland's draft in the long run because
- 49:45[SPEAKER_06]: New York could be likely to take a guy like Arvelle Reese, or maybe even a Ruben Bay or something like that to beef up the defense a little bit, or another offensive option like maybe they take a receiver, so it definitely is pretty big in terms of how important this brown draft can be, and if a guy like Carnell T isn't available at the sixth pick,
- 50:06[SPEAKER_06]: How exactly is that going to switch up or are we going to end up going with offensive line?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_06]: Because if I'm being honest, if a guy like Spencer Fano or Francis Maui Goa, I think I'm saying that correctly is available and Carnotate isn't, I would honestly take him, I would take them over Jordan Tyson just because of the injury history and everything.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_06]: And of course, we can use our second round pick to go after a receiver like Denzel Boston or Kevin Concepts in.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_06]: Obviously, it changes a lot of things for the Browns and I think that the head coaching search will also probably change draft intentions, but let me know what you guys think and have a great rest of your day.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_06]: Bye.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_03]: Great questions, they're in.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much for the voice mail.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to get in the mindset of using the second round pick, pick 39 on a wider receiver, and hoping that that guy is our new wider receiver one, because that doesn't really happen very often in the NFL draft.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_03]: You want that wider receiver one, that alpha dog type guy receiver, you get him in the first round, and usually you get him earlier than later.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's just, you play the odds on that one.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, I like Spencer Fano and Francis Maui Noah, which I learned last night, it is Maui Noah, not Maui Goa, the G-Axis, like a G-N, like the word Nome, so it's Maui Noah.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_03]: I like those guys, I like those tackles a lot.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_03]: There are other tackles that you can get like a Caleb low move, some of these other guys a little bit later in the first round we do epic 24 we've got a crap ton of picks guys we've got 10 or 11 freaking picks this year.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_03]: We're not using all of those on rookies in the draft we can't we already have way too many now you know we're working is now going to be second year guys on the team in 2026 we can not afford to have.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_03]: damn near half of the roster be rookies and second year players.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_03]: We can't do that.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_03]: So the rounds are going to use some of those picks to move around the board.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_03]: You could move up from 24 if you need to to secure a tackle at pick 21 or 19 or something if you needed to.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: At six, if Carnal Tate goes to the Titans or the Giants before we get to pick, I am 100% okay taking Jordan Tyson.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_03]: Now I will go in, I'll do some more, oh, I will do some specific episodes about the wider severs.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_03]: I will break down Jordan Tyson.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_03]: I will talk about his injury history and detail that.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_03]: The injury history does not concern me as much as it does some people.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_03]: for example the injury that he dealt with this season in 2025 was a hamstring injury.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_03]: Wide receivers deal with hamstring injuries from time to time.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_03]: It happens.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: Justin Jefferson missed the majority of a season two years ago, I think, with a hamstring injury.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_03]: Jackson Smith and Jigba missed essentially his entire final season in college at Ohio State.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_03]: with a hamstring injury.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_03]: He fell into the what it was at the 20s, picked 21 or something like that in the NFL draft three years later, boom, best wide receiver in the NFL this past season.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_03]: So the hamstring injury is not something that I'm like, I can't draft a guy who had a hamstring injury in college.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_03]: They happen, especially with wide receivers, Jordan Tyson, from my understanding,
- 53:37[SPEAKER_03]: The talent is worth the swing at six.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I would 100% take Jordan Tyson and if Jordan Tyson and Cardinal Taylor both gone I am still okay taking Mackay Lemon at six because I think he's going to be that good.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_03]: No matter what, I'm not coming out of this draft without acquiring one of the top three, one of the big three receivers in this class.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_03]: I want Tate, Tyson, or Lemon.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_03]: Get me one of those guys and I will be happy.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_03]: And just because
- 54:14[SPEAKER_03]: There's an offensive tackle that's ranked in the top five or top 10 or whatever.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't mean you can't find a good starting tackle at 24 or 39 or infreagency, which is where I expect the Browns to really have a little investing the offensive line would be infreagency.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: You think about like Will Campbell last year was the top tackle and the draft left tackle went to the Patriots that it was a four I think number four overall and good young player if you've been watching the NFL playoffs in the Patriots games
- 54:54[SPEAKER_03]: The kid just getting abused, just straight up abused by opposing pass rushers, and I'm not saying he's not going to be a good player or develop into a better tackle than what he's shown during his rookie season.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_03]: But you can find good offensive linemen later than you can find elite.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_03]: Why are receivers?
- 55:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's where I'm coming from.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_03]: You guys know that.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_03]: If you've watched this, you know
- 55:24[SPEAKER_03]: And then like I'm in second round, I'm great if you want to take an Elijah Sarat or an Omar Cooper Jr. Something like that from Indiana.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_03]: I want one of those Indiana receivers, but I want them paired with one of my top three guys, Tate Tyson or lemon.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't even know if that's my order.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I was all about, you know, takin' no matter what, there's things I read and see and I've got some stuff to talk about when we do our prospect shows about Jordan Tyson and then I'm like, I kind of want him over tape.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_03]: There's stuff about my Kylimin that I sat kind of want him over both those guys.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I said, just give me one of them.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_03]: Just give me one of those kids to play a wider seever.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_03]: Four, what I hope to be a brand new, you didn't ski your Nate Shield House offense.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_03]: with Shidorah Sanders coming into a second season with some.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_03]: Better coaching, better guidance, and everything else to help this offense improve in 2026.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys, so thank you for tuning in today.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's all I got for you here.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_03]: Drop anything you want to talk about any thoughts, opinions, feedback in the comments.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_03]: Was I a little more positive today?
- 56:31[SPEAKER_03]: Or did I stick in the negativity lane with Blake?
- 56:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like the other night, you guys let me know.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to obviously be more open minded because again, I do think that a new coaching staff,
- 56:44[SPEAKER_03]: an opportunity to bring in new players and free agency and to fix some things through the draft and all that kind of stuff, there's a possibility that the Browns are much improved right away in 2026, which is not a thing to find interesting how negative Blake's being right now about the Browns because all year.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_03]: All he said constantly was one more good off season and this team will be more competitive in twenty twenty six than people might think he has said that multiple times on this show.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_03]: So for him to now be saying they're just going to suck again no matter what.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_03]: is interesting and guys I really do think it's tied a lot to the fact that he didn't want Kevin to be fired.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_03]: I really do and I know there's people out there that liked Kevin were Kevin Defenders didn't want to see him go and there's a lot of you guys out there that were like me and said it's time to move on.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_03]: I think both things can be true, where Kevin is a decent football coach, and at the same time, just needed a, he needed a change of scenery.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he wanted to be here anyway after this, and I think the Browns need a change of scenery as well.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_03]: works out for everybody in my opinion.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_03]: Now we get to continue on with the head coaching search.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_03]: So stay tuned and plugged into the show here.

- 58:44[SPEAKER_03]: But time flies.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_03]: And before you know, it's going to be February, and then that's a short month and then all of a sudden we are just one month away from the dream.
