- Devin Davis: All right, welcome back to the 307 Faithful Podcast. This is your host, Devin Davis. Just to remind everybody, this is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes podcast. and our desire is to spread the gospel through the the testimony of coaches and athletes pretty much around the state of Wyoming. But it's always funny to me that that connection can also reach out to to other states as we've had guests from Utah and Colorado and California. so it's always neat to see where the Lord is leading us next as far as our guests go. but I think they're all encouraging and edifying. And so today, I I think our our guest is a unique one. just because her role I I think in FCA is probably the un unsung hero, I'm gonna call it. So and and I say that because she is not at least right now an athlete and she is not a coach, but she's a coach's spouse. And that role as far as supporting our our coaches by by our spouses is so important. The marriage in FCA in the in you know among Christians is so important. To to kind of build up the home, right? And have a a strong husband and a strong wife, a strong father and a strong mother. And so those are things that I think we tend to overlook a lot of times, especially in in FCA, although I know the emphasis is much, much stronger on keeping marriages solid within our Christian ministry. but today our guest is Lindsay Moore. And Lindsay has a great story. Again, thanks to Stacy Frude for. connecting us and and telling us a little telling me a little bit about lindsay but I just want to turn that over to you Lindsay I I gave you your introduction. I hope hopefully that was was accurate. The funny part about that is it we talked before we started this podcast and I told you about my roles. but my my role also, believe it or not is I'm a spouse I'm a coach's spouse as well. my wife is the volleyball coach at Central Wyoming College. And so you were talking about season and how crazy it is. Well, we started season here, volleyball season at in the junior college level. So I I play that role on this home front like you do on yours. But go ahead and just tell us about yourself, Lindsay. Lindsay Moore: Absolutely. Well, thank you for having me. I'm excited to be here. And a a double shout out to Stacy because I feel like she was very generous in her description of me. So thanks, Stacy. as Devin said, I'm Lindsay Moore. My husband, Shannon Moore, he coaches UW football. He is the Titans and special teams coordinator. He's a co-special teams coordinator, so he shares that role. And we live in Laramie. I'm actually a Casper girl. I'm a Kelly Walsh grad and a UW grad as well. And so it's been nice to be back home, but I've been so blessed by FCA. When we moved to Laramie, I we were coming from North Carolina and I had prayed, Lord, let me connect with like-minded believers. And this was really the very beginning of deepening spiritually for me. It was I grew up a believer, I grew up in a Christian home, but really making my faith my own. And so when we moved, I prayed that prayer, Lord, let me connect. with like minded believers and Stacy was one of the first people that connected with me and they had an existing coaches w I w I wanna call it wives of sport Bible study because it was many. It was basketball and track and football and all of these different people. And she invited me to join that group and wonder what it's just been a wonderful group. And I'm sure we're gonna talk about that a little bit more. but they've just been a wonderful support and they really blessed my life and so we've been doing that since twenty nineteen and Right now I kind of co lead with Stacey. That's why I said she was generous in calling me the lead, 'cause I feel like we really co-lead that effort. But we have a wonderful body of believers on our UW football staff and I love to see the men going to their FCA Bible studies and then the women coming together for our Bible study as well. Devin Davis: That's awesome. And I didn't know that. You so you're a you're a Wyoming native and Lindsay Moore: yeah. Devin Davis: and obviously in the career in the occupation of coaching, you've probably made your rounds to different places. But so are were you were you an athlete growing up at at K Dub? Lindsay Moore: I was. Yep, I was. So I played basketball and soccer. Soccer I picked up in my sophomore year and it was just for funsies and I really loved it. But basketball was my main sport. So but not in college. Not in college. Devin Davis: Great. Not in college. Yeah. That's that's Lindsay Moore: No. Devin Davis: I was an athlete in high school. That's how I got involved with FCA. I I called myself an athlete, maybe. I I think that was probably a generous term. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: but that's what how I got involved too. Just love sports. And so then Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: you and Shannon have been married for how many years? Lindsay Moore: We've been married for twelve years this year, and it's been kind of like you said, we've been in different places. We met in Casper. he moved to South Dakota State and started coaching there. And we dated long distance for several years. And then I went to grad school there. And then we moved to Florida. We got married right before then. We moved to Florida and we were at Florida International University in Miami, and then we were in Greenville, North Carolina at East Carolina University, and then here. And that I believe has been a really divine appointment, just the way that it came about. And I'm just gonna tell you about it right now because it's a really cool story. Devin Davis: That's awesome. Lindsay Moore: we were before we even moved to Florida, I remember that we sat down and we prayed, Lord, we wanna come back to Miami. It's gonna be fun. We're gonna go have fun. We're gonna live in Miami. We're gonna sit on the beach. We're gonna enjoy ourselves, but ultimately we wanted to be closer to family. And so we prayed that prayer. We went to Florida International. We went to East Carolina and while we were there, Our entire staff was let go. And that was not something that we had ever experienced. My husband had never been on a staff that had been fired before. And it was difficult. That was a little bit of a difficult season. It was a very short season because it was only a month, but I think it probably felt pretty long for him. But we I was listening to a sermon one day and the pastor had said, you know, write it, write down what it is the desire of your heart is. Just write it down. And so I wrote the University of Nebraska Lincoln, because my husband's from Nebraska and I was like that would be close enough, or the Univers University of Wyoming. And both honestly just seemed like a really long shot. My husband went to coaching convention and he ran into our old O coordinator, Brent Vegan, at the time and they talked and Brent didn't mention they had, you know, a spot open at that time because I think it wasn't very well known. And my husband found out about it later. He I'm sure I was praying about it at the time, but he was coming down the escalator. And then Coach Bull was walking out of the elevator and they met right at the bottom. And my husband knew him because when we were at South Dakota State, he was at North Dakota State and so they knew of each other. And so they began to talk. And Coach Bull Shannon told him, you know, I'm from Wyoming and I think that that really maybe I don't want to say it piqued his interest, but it definitely helped along because we wanted to be here. And so I just believe that it was divine appointment that we have been able to come to Laramie and stay here for so long. Devin Davis: Yeah, that's isn't it really amazing? I think sometimes at at that moment in time we don't really see it, but to be able to look down the road and Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Devin Davis: look at God's hand on all the little small details. And sometimes you Lindsay Moore: Yes. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: get down the road and you're like, Wow, I can't believe that happened, you know? And I mean, that's and that's that's awesome just to think about how you prayed and that prayer was was answered. So Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: now he's been on staff seven years then. This is his his seventh year. So Lindsay Moore: Yep. Mm-hmm. Yep. Devin Davis: and and that and that's hard in the in the in the college coaching carousel. Seven years is kind of probably a long time for Lindsay Moore: thinking about that today. I don't have the data on it. Like, I don't know. What are the statistics on how long people stay places? But I know that it's not it's not always long. And so we feel Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: really blessed to be in a place that we love where our families are close by and just good people here in Laramie. Devin Davis: Yep. And and and Shannon's been blessed to have, I mean, boy, over those seven years, just to think over the the the stud athletes that he's been able to to coach Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: have come through the program. I mean, the the tight end position has been probably one of the strongest at the University of Wyoming for the last several years. When you think of Trayton Welsh and Jay Mike and and several of those, so he's He's definitely stepped into a a a great role and made a huge impact on on his athletes. So yeah, you said he's from Nebraska. Now I guess that just clicked with me. He's from Gordon, Nebraska, right? Lindsay Moore: He's from Gordon, Nebraska. Why do you know that? Devin Davis: Because I I I did a little little I always say I creep a little bit on people before we start do our podcast. So I'm not I don't go in blind. And I had seen that somewhere. And I spent time for 12 years in Chadron at working in Chadron at and then my wife coached at Chadron State College. And so I saw that, I was like, from Gordon, there's not a whole lot of people from Gordon, Nebraska. Lindsay Moore: Not but that is where legends are made. So Gordon, Nebraska. You guys have probably met each other in passing, would be my guess. Devin Davis: So how in the world, I'm kind of just asking about Shannon and and how did he become a football coach? Lindsay Moore: Yeah, you know, he had always wanted to coach and so he was a football player at Black Hill State. So he was a quarterback and a kicker, which is fun. It was, you know, smaller Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: school. So he went to Black Hill State, but he always knew he wanted to coach. And I actually I feel like I might quote him wrong, but I'm pretty sure that he ended his football career early because he had an opportunity to go and like coach baseball. But he got into teaching, so he taught high school math in Oneida, South Dakota, and he was their head football coach. He went back and got his master's and a part of his master's program, he came to Wyoming and coached indoor football, Wyoming Cavalry. So he was coming to do an internship. And at that time, Devin Davis: Okay. Lindsay Moore: their head coach left right away, right when he got there. And so they were like, You wanna do it? And so he was the head coach of that indoor football league. And then he had done his master's at South Dakota State, and so Coach Stig called him and said, you know, you want this job basically. And So he went to South Dakota State, but he had always wanted to coach in college and it's just a wonderful opportunity just to coach young men and not just to coach them but to shape them. And he's really Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: he's uniquely good at that. Devin Davis: That's so that that's amazing. He wa he coached the Wyoming Calvary. I we we lived in Wheatland for a while too. And and when I had my kids were at home, we'd run up and catch a Wyoming Cavalry game. I loved that that was fun football to go up and and watch. So I'm Lindsay Moore: It is fun. Yeah. Devin Davis: sure just thinking about those days, I'll bet you he was on the sideline to some of the games that that I went to. But you know, that's Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: the thing about coaching is I I love how you say it, shaping young men and I lead two coaches studies here in Fremont County. And that that's kind of the message that I harp on all the time is that is that that they, you know, coaching is about sports and you want to do well. but there's such a bigger, you know, picture of what coaching is. and and that's one of them, right? Is the impact that you have on these young men, young women. whoever you coach for the rest of their lives. And that's where really it's a ministry. and I think that's I I admire coaches who have that perspective on everything. So as as a as a wife, and I and again I probably have been there done that, how how hard is it to be Lindsay Moore married to a football coach during football season? Lindsay Moore: You know, I would say it's been harder when we early on in our marriage. It was definitely it was just a transition, I think. You know, we we had moved to Miami and we didn't have family out there and honestly we didn't have great friends out there either. I have great friends from that staff, but we all lived really far away. You know, Miami's just a big place, so we didn't live close to each other. But honestly, I can say now by the grace of God that it actually doesn't always feel that hard. You know, it's definitely busy. It is an adjustment to come off of summer when they have a little bit of time off to fall camp when you when they're in at five thirty and they're home at nine, ten, eleven. It's an adjustment, but we really fall into a nice rhythm. I would say we we always try and go up to the end of practice and just see him for five minutes, see him for ten minutes just Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: to talk, maybe bring him some lunch or bring him some dinner or whatever it is, see our guys. We like to be around the football players as well. And so it's challenging, but I can't say that it's It's not it doesn't always feel hard. And I do feel like that is just because of the Holy Spirit. It just it's not Devin Davis: Amen. Lindsay Moore: something that has to feel hard. And I've definitely I feel like I've shifted my perspective over the years from thinking like, this is so hard. Like I'm just really not looking forward to it to saying, okay, like this is a it's a new season. We there's new opportunities, it's site it's exciting, it brings in visitors to our home, it brings in, you know, time for McKenzie, our daughter and I just have some one to one time. And so we just really try and make the best of it. But fall camp is always a little bit intense, and I actually look forward to the season coming because it's a little bit more predictable. It's a it's a better rhythm where you you kind of know what to expect. Like we're gonna see them Thursday. Thursday evening is gonna be our time to Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: shine. And so yeah, so it's like I said, it definitely brings different challenges, but I will say what a wonderful group of wives we have. And they don't all come to our Bible study, but they're all good and they're a unique support system. And I don't know how many coaches, spouses you get to hang out with, Devin, but it is it's great. You know, we come up to the end of practice, not everybody comes, but you get to see your friends. Sometimes we share a meal together during the week because we know, you know, it's j we're all on our own. Can somebody make dinner? We're all gonna come and eat. And it's just it's a really unique space where you are with women who can understand the unique situation Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: that you're in. And I it's made better because there's so many that are in our Bible study. And so not only are they women who are in the same unique situation, but they're women who believe the same way that you do. And so we can support each other in a different way. Devin Davis: Yeah, that's it's your it's really your second family, isn't it? Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: especially during during football season. because in a way you probably spend it as much more time with them as you do with your w with Shannon, with your own spouse, really. So Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: and and tell me we've talked about it. Tell me about that Bible study, how it started, kind of the the the path that you've taken, and just how you approach it. Lindsay Moore: Absolutely. You know, it was already it was existing when I was here, but it was definitely I remember when I came that Stacey said, you know, it's kind of a transitional phase. There were people that were moving out and people that were coming in to that group. And that is the nature of college sports, right? Sometimes it's a little bit transient, so it's not always the same base of people. And they were going through a large transition at that time. And, you know, at first I just got to come in and enjoy. I you know, they were reading I think they were reading this book on coach's wife stories or something like that. That's what they were doing. but gradually we shifted to even just meeting at our house, which is funny because the people that lived in our house before they were coaches. And so we bought this house from them and she hosted that Bible study in this home. And so when I came Devin Davis: man. Lindsay Moore: in, I was like, well, you guys already know what it is, where it is, let's meet here. We can meet here. and so Stacy has really she she really led solely at first. And I would say gradually she kind of looped me in and helped me to co-lead the Bible study, but we really try always to focus on the word. And that's Stacy and I both have a passion for that. How can we help women, our friends, women who are in sport, to read their Bibles and to understand what it means? And so we're really passionate about that. And so we we always do a little book stuff, like we'll read a different book in the summer. But during the school year, our focus is actually just reading the word. And we get these little scripture journals and we take notes and things like that, but just getting down to like what what does God say? We don't need to hear what somebody else says about God's word. We want to read it for ourselves. And so we're really passionate about that. We've done some we've done so many because we've been doing it for so long. Last semester we did Revelation and that was maybe the best semester that we've ever had because it's just so sometimes it's foreign to people. Like what does this mean? And We're like, we don't know what it means, but we can trust God because He's good. You know, we don't we won't know everything that Revelation means. But that was a really that was an awesome study that we did. We're headed into Romans for the next year. And, you know, we just prepare. We go through the scripture, we find the background, we you know, figure out what as much as we can. What does it mean? What's applicable? Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: What should what can we take from it? What questions do we have? And because we've been together for so long, It's just a sweet fellowship there. We also have we have women that are not wives of college coaches. We have our head high school football coach's wife, she comes as well. We've got some ladies from track, from basketball. the majority are from football right now, but it's like I said, it's a sweet fellowship. Devin Davis: Yeah, that's I I just love that to ch I mean it's you know, number one, I I couldn't agree more with you. I mean, when I started faithfully reading the Bible, and not just reading it, but reading it for God to speak through it. Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: I that's that's when like my faith tr transformed. So I I'll be the first to to agree with you on that. but I I think it's you know, it's great to read the Bible on your own. and and do that faithfully daily, but it it's kind of a different level when you have people around you that that share in that passion and that maybe some know more than you do and some know less than you do. and Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: and you can share in that. I feel like those discussions and those questions are some of the most fruitful ones that that that we have as Christians with other believers. Do you see that? Kind of play out with with your Bible study? Lindsay Moore: We absolutely do. one thing that you said that just really just struck me is yes, there are people that know way more than me. Like Stacy, I would say she knows probably way more than me. And then there's some of us that are kinda in the middle and some that are kind of maybe brand new to Bible reading. And it's it's just wonderful. One thing that I think about when I when I think about reading the word, you know, you talked about transformation. And it was the same for me. I I told you I'd been I'd grown up in a Christian home and a great, a wonderful church. You know, my mom and especially and her sisters and my grandparents were just wonderful, faith filled people. But it wasn't until I was twenty nine after I had McKenzie and I was struggling postpartum. So I had anxiety and I was probably a little bit depressed and it was a struggle. I was out in North Carolina and you we had her during the football season. So there were a lot of things that were like coming into play there. Yeah, not good timing. Devin Davis: Not good timing. Tell tell Shannon that's not good timing, right? Lindsay Moore: trust me, we tried to plan that out and as soon as we were like, Well, we're gonna pause, then I was like, Well, I'm pregnant. So there's that. Devin Davis: Sorry to interrupt you there. Lindsay Moore: no, that's okay. So one thing that happened though, you know, I started talking to my mom. She noticed like something's off here, she's not really herself. And she, you know, every time I talked to her, have you been reading your word? Have you been reading your word? And I was Yeah, mom, I've been reading my ner I've been I've not been reading it, just I wasn't at the time. You know, I believe that Jesus was my savior, but it was not lived out in my life. We went to church. We but it was almost like I don't want to say Christian in name only, because that's not what it was, but my life was not transformed. And so I think about Romans twelve too. Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And how do we renew our minds? We renew our minds by finding out what does God think? What did he say here in the Word? Because we take on His thoughts. And so I committed myself finally because I I was just struggling so bad. I I committed myself. I said, Lord, I'm gonna I'm gonna read my Bible for five minutes a day. Like I'm gonna read, I'll read on my phone, I'll read wherever I'm gonna read it for five minutes a day. And I started in Matthew because honestly, I felt like my like I just couldn't understand what it was saying. My biblical literacy was really low. And so I found a different version that I could read, but I started in Matthew because I was just like, I really need to see Jesus. in this time. Like I was really, really struggling. And so I started with five minutes a day and then it turned into 10 and maybe 15 and 30. And then eventually I finished the New Testament and then I went back through and read the old testament. And I can tell you truly that it transformed my life. It changed the trajectory of our entire like I'm a little bit teary about it because it changed the trajectory of our entire family at that time. Like not only did Devin Davis: Amen. Lindsay Moore: it pull me out of the pit because the Lord was speaking to me through his word, it's like he reached down and grabbed me and said, This is what I have for you. But it changed it changed everything. It changed our marriage. It changed, you know, even how we raised Mackenzie. It propelled me into ministry of my own. I have a podcast that we talked about at the beginning called The New Way to Live. And it's not something that I ever thought that I would do. But through that transformation, he just put me on a new path. And it's freedom. That's what it feels like. It just feels like freedom. Devin Davis: I I s again I second that one because you your your experience is very similar to mine in in that like you said, you know, I I kind of question, I was brought up by a very faithful mom going to church. I actually got a Bible when I was young and started reading it. and and so I read it pretty faithfully, but I And and I don't know, there's a difference, and I don't know how to explain it. There's a difference between again, as I I pointed out, reading the Bible and reading it with this the Holy Spirit to to to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and of God. I I I I I truly believe and like I went to a church in Shadron with a pastor who was really faithful and And very dedicated to knowing the word and and studying the word. And that like when that truth, when that light went on in the in the Bible Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: became real, it it completely changed me. and my wife would hopefully testify to that. We were you know, there were some struggles in our marriage for sure. And and and not that it's it's perfect, but I I you know, I've been hopefully people can say I'm a different person, I'm a different husband, I'm a different father than I was. and it was all because of his word. and Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: I I so I couldn't agree more with you on that. So the the question then is to me, is if we agree on that, and and I think most genuine followers of Christ, if not all, would would agree with you. What keeps people from spending time in the word? What do you think it is that Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: is are some of the obstacles? to to really knowing what we've just talked about. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. You know, I think just thinking back on my own experience, I started reading, I think I was reading in the King James, which was a wonderful translation. Or I love it. That's it. I mean, it's a great translation. I read it now, but I couldn't understand it when I first picked it up because I was lost. I was like, wait, what does this language mean? I don't under I actually just don't understand what the sentence says. And so sometimes I think it's as simple as getting a version that somebody can understand. That can bring it to our level. and I think there's lots of great versions. I started in the NIV, I've been in the NLT for a while, but I use lots of different versions for my study. But I think that that is definitely one barrier. Can can the reader actually understand it? Can they read it and be like, I get what that sentence says? So there's that. Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: I think that's one. But you know, we live in such a society where there's no shortage of things to do. You know, parents, they're running their kids everywhere. There's they're working, both of them are working and they're trying to get dinner on the table and they're getting their kids to sports and you know, there's just lots of things that I think that we put before God that we shouldn't, you know, and I think it comes Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: down to prioritizing his word. And I think that that can Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: be a difficult discipline for people to fall into because, you know, for me, I I try and wake up and do it in the mornings. I wake up at five thirty, Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: I Walk on my treadmill and I pray a little bit and then I get in the word, I work on the podcast, I do all those things before McKinsey wakes up. But I can tell you that there are days where I might be like, I'm so tired. I'm gonna do it after this. But after this never happens, right? Because Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: then I'm like, Okay, well I'm gonna make breakfast, then I'm gonna work out, I'm gonna work, I'm gonna do these things, and then pretty soon it's the next day and I I did not and Praise the Lord for grace though, right? If I miss a day, he's not dropping the hammer on me. It's just that it's good for us, right? It's good for us to fall into that rhythm because the disciplines that we put in place, that's what brings us closer to God. So discipline isn't a bad word. It's just putting things in place so that you can fellowship with God, so that you can know him. And because we can't see him, I think that people forget sometimes. Does that make sense? Devin Davis: Yeah. yeah. Yeah. And that's you know, just just thinking about that. And I you're speaking my language there too, is like I I do that too. Man, I I'm just gonna sleep an extra hour and I I do something in my routine that's a little different. And then at seven o'clock at night, I'm like, I haven't read God's word today. And and I usually do that first thing in the morning. And so, so I sit down and do it. And and sometimes I feel like and that's the other hard part. Sometimes I do it just to say that I did it. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: Got I gotta I'm not I mean that I'm not doing it just to say that I'm doing it. and and that's a hard balance because that's not what I w I I I don't want it to be that way. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Because then it's done from a religious spirit and it's like to me that's when we get into like, are we under the law? Are we under the under grace? Like what is it? Like if we're just doing these things because it's a checklist, we lose the heart of it. And I have been in seasons where I'm like, Wow, how long have I been operating that way? You know, was it a month? Was it two? Where I was just going through the motions. and I'm not Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yes. Amen. Lindsay Moore: sure, but it's, you know getting back to that heart of it's fellowship with God. Like we can come and talk to him about his word. He's gonna speak to us through his word. And thankfully when we pick it up, it's I always picture it as like a multiplication, you know, even if I'm only able to get in it for five minutes, he just like multiplies the benefits of being in his word. So one thing that I also think too is that, you know, we have a tendency to want to like burn through the pages. How quickly can I get through this? You know, just like any book, how quickly can I get through it? I'm gonna read through it and get to the end. But The great thing about God's word is that even if you're just reading a verse, like if that's all you have time for, read it. Think about it. What does it mean? Meditate on it throughout the day. You don't have to sit down for three hours. People don't always have three hours to sit down and study the Bible. Sometimes they don't have 30 minutes, but is there something that you can get into? It doesn't matter, no matter how slowly those pages turn, because the Lord will amplify the benefits of it. So that's one Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: thing too, is I think people think that it's like an all or a nothing thing. When really anything helps. Devin Davis: That's right. And I and you know, I I can't remember who who it I read, but one time, you know, and I was kind of going through this part. Why am I am I just like you said, am I just reading the Bible just to read my the Bible? you know, and I I'm feeling maybe a little spiritual drought, I guess. Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: and and and I read, you know, just keep keep plugging away, right? And Lindsay Moore: Following. Devin Davis: I mean the the worst thing that you can do is stop reading his word. so and I and I agree with that, right? And I mean, it doesn't matter if it's for for good or bad, or for the right or the wrong reasons, I should say, spending time in his word is always worth it. Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: and and so, you know, that's what I've found, you know, it's kind of like working out. Like you said, you know, some some days it's really easy and I I feel really strong and my body is getting stronger and sometimes it's like, man, I don't really want to go work out today. And and if we just keep doing it, then Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: and we press through that, we see the benefits of that on the other side. I d I don't know. That's that's what I do. It's just like keep going, keep going, keep going. And Lindsay Moore: Absolutely. And that's where it's like a discipline, right? If you have the discipline in place, just like your example of working out, you work out at 6 AM every day whenever you do it. You just that's what you do Monday, Wednesday, Friday, whenever it is. But because it's built into your schedule, it's a regular rhythm, it's easier for you to just be like, Okay, I already know what I'm doing. Today's leg day. I'm gonna go and do leg day. I don't like it, but I'm gonna do it. And when you're done, you're always like, dang, I'm so glad I did that, right? It's the Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: same with reading your Bible. Like if you can have the discipline in in place. Even if there's times when you're just like, I'm not really feeling it, just continue to pour in the water of the word. That's how I always think about it. Just pour it in and pour it in. And then during those times when I'm feeling really dry, not only is it important to read your word, but like where can I hear it? Are there sermons that I can listen to? Can I pour in some worship music as well? Because I just that's how I picture it. You're just pouring in water and sometimes Devin Davis: That's great. Lindsay Moore: I picture it like a bucket, like a you guys have seen a maybe like a dry paint bucket, for example, where maybe there's like some dirt on the bottom and there's you know, paint caked on there and if you put a pressure washer on it, it like gets everything off the bottom. But then as you fill and fill and fill, then all the gunk comes out, right? And so it's like when you're feeling like you're in a dry season, you got some hard things going, I say just continue to pour in that water because eventually everything's gonna float to the top, you know, and Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: it comes out. So Devin Davis: Yeah. And I and you know, so so that's the the other truth is too, is that you know, with the with the internet, with AI, with social media, there are so many things that can distract us, but there's also so many things that can help us. Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: whether whether it's on your social media or whether it's on a Bible app or that type of thing. Like you talked about understanding the Bible. there are so many things that we can go to that are available at our fingertip to help us read the Bible, to to Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: explain things that we we don't know. and I think that's so like I don't understand it is is kind of just an excuse. Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: because there's there's you know you can do that through you know th through the internet or Just reach out to somebody. You know, I don't know. Did you have somebody in your life who who kind of helped disciple you or help you in understanding God's word? It was there somebody who played that role with you? Lindsay Moore: many, I would say. There's many and there's many that continue to. But my mom, I would say, was the first. You know, she was the one who was like, Get in your word. I promise you, get in your word. I promise you it's gonna get better. I promise you it's gonna get better. You know, and I would call her and I'd be like, What's going on here? I don't actually understand what's happening, and she was able to, you know, help me work through those texts. But so her and I we just had many discussions about the word. What does it mean? Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: but it was an encouragement also for to for her to know like I was on this journey of tucking into the word And she was there for any of my questions. And now what's great is that we both serve in that manner for each other. Sometimes she'll call me and she'll say, I don't really what what are we talking about here? And you know, I'll use my study tools to talk about it. I will say, now that I've been studying God's word for a while, there are definitely tools that I use a lot. Like I use Bible Hub a lot. I really like to get into, I'm kind of nerdy, but I like to get into like the Greek words and the Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: Hebrew words and what does it mean? Because usually, not always, but Frequently I would say. I get in there and I'm like, that word doesn't mean like exactly what I thought it meant. It actually means Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: something way, way deeper than I thought it could ever mean. And so I get into that a lot and study. I love to use the amplified and the amplified classic, which not a lot of people love, but I just love the extra explanation. So my mom was for sure one. I Stacy, I think, has been integral. I have lots of friends, you know, from church and stuff who have just helped to expound the word, you know, and then I've found other people that I listen to on YouTube or Or whatever, just because they help you to like really get deep into the word. I love a teaching style sermon because I just l I learn well that way. I just Devin Davis: Yeah. Amen. Lindsay Moore: I like to just dig into the details and that's a lot of what I do in the podcast too. Like I'll stay in a series for weeks because you dig in. Devin Davis: Yeah. That and you know, and as you're talking about the different interpretations, I mean that's the the nice thing and I'm pretty slow, but it took me a long time on on the on the Bible app that you can obviously download or Lindsay Moore: Compare. Devin Davis: look at different interpretations, but then you can for passages you can compare one translation into another translation. And so it's like All right, if I don't understand this one, let me pick another one and see what it says. So that that will help help me to understand. And so I think that's a good a a good resource. The other thing is, and and I know you agree one hundred percent, is one of the best things that I ever did was to buy a a study Bible, right? With Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: all kinds of notes down below and and references to other scripture. Because frequently I'll read a verse and like, man, I don't get that. And so I read down below and it just helps expose what it really means to me and and and helps me with that study. So like you said, you know, sometimes when you're really digging into the word, I mean, I've just read this morning, I'm reading Second Corinthians, and I read a chapter, I think it was chapter eight, this morning, chapter eight or nine, and it was really short, but it took me a long time. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: to read through it because it was pretty hard stuff. and so it's yeah, it's not just turning the page. It's and I I think initially it's probably that's not that's not a bad idea. It's like, let's just read, read through the Bible, however that is. So you get a picture of what the Bible means. Now let's go back and really dig in to to the parts that I didn't understand. So I mean I think there's Lindsay Moore: Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Devin Davis: a time time for both really probably, don't you? Lindsay Moore: Yeah, I do, definitely. And that's exactly how I did it. I read it first and there were I was like, there were some places when I read Revelation for the first time, I s they said, I have no clue what's going on. But at the beginning it says that there is a blessing for the person that reads it. So I'm gonna read that book of Revelation. Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: There were a lot of things that I didn't understand. What was surprising, my s my like it we've talked about, you know, growing up in a Christian home, I did have a Bible. I pretty much never got past maybe Leviticus. So I just I just never did. you know, I would start and I'd start again and I'd start again, but just Devin Davis: I I don't get past that nowadays, so so I don't know. Lindsay Moore: I know. But sticking with it. I had a point to that. I don't really know where I was going with it. But yeah, it's then Devin Davis: No I Lindsay Moore: I think getting to the point though where like once you've read it, when you hit a hard something that you're like, I don't quite get that, that's a great place to camp out. That's how I always feel. You don't actually have to breeze past it. You can stop and say, What is God saying in this? What does it this actually mean? You don't have to you're not in the race to flip the page. Devin Davis: Yeah. I'd laugh because I keep on my bookshelf back here, I just grabbed it because I was thinking about that. This is my very first Bible. it it's called The Way. and so Lindsay Moore: yeah. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: here I am. Back then it wasn't middle school, it's junior high school. And so the living Bible, and that's that's what I read to start with, just cause it was easy to read. And I think that's what's what's important. So now I I laugh that I've had this all all these years and and and kept that just kind of a reminder of where I started and and and where I am now. But man, that yeah, it just it just that's one thing working with high school students mainly, that I I really, really try to impress upon them and and Fellowship of Christian Athletes does a great job of that. as far as, you know, we we talked about the E three strategy of engaging with with athletes or coaches and and then equipping them. And that equipping is learning the Bible. And Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: because you you're you cannot go out and disciple other people unless you know God's word. And you know, so disciples who make disciples and and so that's just a it's just an ongoing process. And so I think that's that's the cool part. There I I don't know about you. There's a lot of different parts of the Christian Life. I mean, I love worship. I love fellowship. those type of things. I love discipleship. I love to be able to sit down and have a discussion like you had with your mom. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: Just talk about the hard things and ask questions. And that's that's how God intended community within the church to work, really. So that that's Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: that's really good to to think about that. And I don't know, it's just it's just interesting to think about that. But it's the same thing again, going back to working out. I mean, you know, the beginning of the year at the gym we always laugh cause it's just packed for about a month 'cause everybody is makes Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: I'm gonna start the new year and we always, you know, by working out and getting in shape and we always laugh at the gym. just give it a month. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: and that's what happens and and unfortunately I think sometimes that's what happens with the Bible too is that people just don't we talked about, you know, discipline, making a daily habit. and that's I think that's the most important part because God will help teach you according to your faithfulness to him. And so I think that's really, really important as well. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. It is. And I think along those lines, just thinking about how that's the big blessing of FCA is that there are people there to say like, come every week. You know, whatever it is, come every week. Getting in a regular rhythm, even if they're not reading it every day, there's like a little check-in, right? You know, we know that we're studying something, that if you haven't read it all week, you're probably gonna read it at the Bible study. It just gives people a little something where they're not going through it on their own because then when they have questions like we've talked about, they can come and say, What does this mean? And sometimes we say, I'm not sure, but let's go find out. Like let's let's pray Devin Davis: Yeah. Amen. Lindsay Moore: about it. Let's dig into it. Let's find out what it means because none of us are ever gonna be experts on it. The word is living and it's active and every time you read it, something new comes up, which is amazing. Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: And I and I look at it, I mean, obviously again, not you know, far from perfect, but I I look at back at myself and and one, you know, in times where I I didn't read the Bible except for maybe at a Bible study or or even at church. and like how did I live life back then? You ever feel that? Like, like I Lindsay Moore: I mean Yeah. Yeah. Devin Davis: need I need it every day, man. I need his grace pours out through it Lindsay Moore: I do. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: and his wisdom does. And it's like, how did I exist before knowing, you know, just how just how full of life God's word is? Do you ever think about that? Lindsay Moore: I do and I think about it a lot because you know sometimes when I'm talking to people about reading the word, I just like I have this thought that, you know, it's it's great to do it before you have to. You know, like I was in the thick of a really hard season, you know, and of course like I it was so it was a wonderful moment where I could turn to the Lord and I see exactly how he's used it. It wasn't from him, but like I just see how he redeemed that situation and then just changed the trajectory of all of our lives. But when you're in it, then when you hit a hard season, it's you already know what God has said. You already know him. And I'm not saying that nothing's ever hard, you know. I think that's part of our my testimony is, you know, there have been like these key key times where we've gone through something really hard, you know. postpartum just I had never had anxiety, so it Felt really, really hard for me. and then in twenty twenty, my husband and I had daughter Hallie, who went to be with the Lord shortly after, and then a few years later we had another son, Thomas, who was a a late miscarriage. And I can honestly say looking back, the darkest time was actually not the loss of our kids. The darkest time was when I didn't know who I was in Christ, who I when I didn't know him for myself. when I went through those seasons because I had already been in the Word, because I had been in relationship with the Lord, it was still very hard and it was still, you know, I grieved and like even now just like a little bit you know, it makes you a little bit teary Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: to think about. But I'm it's Tears of gratefulness because when we hit those moments, I knew I wasn't alone. And I knew I wasn't the same. And I knew exactly where to turn, even in those hard moments. And he just ministered and ministered to me. You know, I just I think about one moment often, you know, Mackenzie was three when our daughter went to be with the Lord. And sometimes we'd be sitting there, I'd be a little bit in my feelings, you know, I'd be you know, it felt heavy and it felt oppressive. And because I knew the Lord and I knew like the benefits of worship and the benefits of praising the Lord, I the Holy Spirit would prompt me sometimes to get up. And just blast some worship music and Mackenzie and I would just dance. And to her, we were just having fun. But to me, it was like winning the battle. You know what I mean? And when we Devin Davis: Amen. Lindsay Moore: were done praising and jumping around and dancing and singing at the top of our lungs, it was like that oppression had lifted. So there were things that he was able to teach me through his word that when I hit that hard season, I could put it into practice. Where I I think about that often. How do people go through hard things without the Lord? Because It was I mean, that could be really devastating, right? I mean, and it was it was just it was so hard, but now, you know, I look back and I just I see God's hand and how he redeemed all of this situation and how now, you know, he we know him as the restorer. He he restores what the enemy has stolen. And so while we don't receive our kids back here on this earth, what I do know is that he's restored joy to us in greater measure. He's restored peace to us and confidence and trust in him. All of those things we experience in greater measure now. Devin Davis: Yeah. And that's I I don't know. That's yeah, I think the same thing kind of with me. Isn't it isn't it weird w when we're going through really, really hard times and and we just want to get out of them. Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: and that's just our human nature. But then we look back at them and we look at you said God's faithfulness and what we learned through that and how we leaned on him and his steadfast love never ends kind of thing and and it's Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: like hard things stink but god uses them for a reason and Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: that's that's what we have to just continually trust in because we're we're all gonna go through hard things and that's gonna happen until He returns, right? And so knowing Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: how to to to navigate those hard things through God and with his help is how we continue to be sanctified, in our time on this earth, really. So that's yeah. Lindsay Moore: Absolutely. Devin Davis: I that and again, that goes back to the word, right? I mean, amen to that. Lindsay Moore: It does, it does. And like having that already in practice, just knowing where to turn. And when we go through those hard times, I think when we know God for ourselves, we can trust in his character. Because I can say, you know, after we had Hallie, there was a period of probably weeks, which felt longer than I thought it should have been, but weeks where I was just like, I just don't understand. You know, I I'm so grieved and like I don't understand why. You know what I mean? And it felt honestly like that question felt a little bit like torment. Just like wanting to understand and not being able to understand. And I remember one night I cried out to the Lord and I just said, Lord, either like help me to understand or just help me to move on. Like help me to move on from the question because I felt really, really stuck, you know? And honestly, the next day I woke up and I never thought that I don't even know what the question was. He helped me move on that quick because it was a moment where like I felt so comfortable coming to my father and saying like don't understand like will you just help me to like move past it or just answer me. But I felt like I could come boldly enough to him because I knew him and I knew his character that he would do either one. Right? Like either he's gonna help me to just move on and work through it or he's gonna like give me the answer and it was not the answer. Whatever the question was, I I think that there's just things that we can't understand in this world and it's not beneficial for us to understand the details. It helps us not at all to understand every single detail. Devin Davis: No, but we know that our father cares about us and that he was Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: listening in in that and and felt compassion for you. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: and y you know, wanted to help you through that. That's the that's the Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: thing. like our earthly fathers, you know, sometimes when we're kids, we just need to sit on the our dad's lap and and talk to him and and Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: get, you know, an arm around us. Hey, it'll be better, you know, kind of thing. And I think that's I mean How how much greater picture of that is with our Creator, our our Holy Father, Lindsay Moore: Yeah. He's a better father. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: really that he he loves his creation and he's here with us through the good times and the bads, bad times no matter what, really. That brings a lot of peace. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that comes back. It does. And it always it just always comes back to the word. You know, I I have lots of conversations with people where it's clear, you know, that they don't understand that God can be known. that like our f we can know our father. We can know him for ourselves. And, you know, I know people, you know, sometimes we're like, Well, I don't hear from God in my spirit. I don't hear from the Holy Spirit. Well, he's like literally said everything that he wants to say to us right here. And frequently he's just talking to us about his word. You know, he's bringing up the Holy Spirit helps us and so he reminds us of all things that we've been taught and so he'll dredge up verses and stuff like that. But the best way that we can know God is to tuck into his word and then when we hit those hard times, you know, then we can say What do I know about God's character? Like this hurts. This isn't great. I don't love it. But I know that God's good. I know that he's trustworthy. I know that he promised to restore what the enemy stole, and I know that he's promised to work all things together for good, for his glory and for my good. You know, all of those things. So it's so important to understand his character and it just begins with digging into his word. You know, you can. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Every page. Devin Davis: Yeah. Yeah. He revealed all of that through his word. On on every page of the Bible, he reveals that. So yeah, Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: that's that's really a good thing, is that's how he's chosen to reveal that that truth to us in in Lindsay Moore: Mm. Devin Davis: in his character because that it it is he he never changes from the first page of the Bible to the last page of the Bible. Lindsay Moore: Right. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: so we can always, always count on that. So Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: Well, I I also kind of I just wanted to talk a little bit. you mentioned I want you to share about your podcast, Lindsay Moore: yeah. Devin Davis: as we kind of shared our our story to begin with and our our humble beginnings and probably compared to a lot of Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: podcasts our humble everyday podcast lives, but tell me about yours. Lindsay Moore: Yeah, absolutely. So I began podcasting in November of two thousand and twenty-two. And it was something that the Lord had really laid on my heart. And that's an interesting thing in itself. You know, I had talked about how I had never I would never have imagined that I would come on a podcast and talk about how good God is and really be like ministering the gospel to people. That is not something that I just I never thought that I would do it. It never even crossed my mind. Just not ever a thought. So in earlier that year, I W I had the opportunity to speak at a women's conference and I was like, man, I really liked preparing for that. I learned really well that way. So I think I honestly think that maybe three quarters of the benefit of doing the podcast is that I learn more things because Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: I just I learn well that way. So anyway, so it was on my heart. I never told anything I never said anything to anybody about it that I like, Man, I'd really be interested in just like digging in and like teaching a little bit more. Never said anything. Well, I went to this thing in the park and there was a pastor there and he prophesied over me and he said what I had been thinking. And I was like, okay. It just I had never had that experience before where somebody where the Lord spoke through somebody and said, Yeah, you you are to teach. That's what you're supposed to do, you were supposed to teach and you know, reach people. And so that was kind of the beginning of it. A podcast had been laid on my heart. And so I started the new way to live. And it's about that. It's that we've been given a new way to live. Once we encounter Jesus, it's just to stay the same. That's how I was before you know before I really reached out in faith and really like trusted my life with the Lord, made him Lord over my life. It was just going through the motions. Right, we're going through the motions, but then you realize, like, no, he's actually given us a new way to live. Like, we are not the same. We're a new creation in Christ. He gives us new desires. He wants us to be sanctified, to change, to become more and more holy, to become more and more like him. And so that's really what it was birthed out of. But one the passion of mine was I had many friends who, you know, I would talk to day in and day out about the Lord. We'd have, you know, different conversations. We'd talk about life. And I always just thought, man, if they knew the word. If they were tucked into their word, this might feel easier. Like they might it might change their perspective. And I I felt like I had the right perspective because that was me. You know, everybody probably thought about me too. Like, man, if she were just tuck her word, she'd probably feel a lot better. You know, they probably thought the same thing. So my passion was to help women to begin to read the Bible and to understand like this is why it's so important. Like it's it's all transforming. This is how you do it, this is what it means. And it's just morphed into something that, you know, has been going on for four years. I release a podcast weekly and it is definitely teaching based. I'll stay in a sermon series for weeks, if that's what it takes to get through all of it. Sometimes I don't even know when it's gonna end. I'm working on part five of a message on grace and, you know, they're about twenty minutes 'cause I feel like that's about what that's about where my attention span is. You know, can I get twenty minutes or less? But it's it's wonderful and I feel like, you know, I started it with women on my heart. Just that they would come and that they would learn who God is, they would understand what the word says, who they are in Christ, and that it would really propel them into living that new life. And it always comes back to Romans twelve two, not being conformed to the word, but being transformed by the renewing of your mind. Devin Davis: New way to live. And then Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: what what platforms are you available to be able to listen to the podcast? Lindsay Moore: all pretty much except for YouTube, which is funny. So I'm on Apple Podcasts, I'm on Spotify. Amazon I actually think did away with theirs. there's a few other smaller ones that I'm on, but Devin Davis: Mm-hmm. Lindsay Moore: I haven't really brushed into YouTube yet, although I've had some calls to to do that. So maybe now that we've been on video I'll do that next. Devin Davis: I don't know, that's a big step. Then you gotta build a studio and you have to buy lights. Lindsay Moore: You gotta build a studio. I always say too, I have to get out of my jammies to do that. Like if I'm gonna put my face on camera, I'm gonna have to actually, you know, get out of my pajamas while I podcast. So Devin Davis: That's good. And so everybody check that out and especially women that are listening and encourage you go check that podcast out by Lindsay. and then you've mentioned her several times, but tell me about your family. Know about Shannon. you've mentioned Mackenzie. just kind of wanna hear more about your family. Lindsay Moore: Absolutely. So, Mackenzie is our daughter. She's eight and today's the first day of school. So she's almost she's almost nine, but what a sweet age this is, honestly. Like I love eight. I've loved every but it's just so fun 'cause she's just like a little she can have, you know, greater conversations. She's my little pal. Like we just we do all the things together. But she is so sweet and Honestly, I love her own spiritual insights. My mom and I were just reflecting on some of her insights. Like one thing that she said was, I want to be like a sunflower. I want my face to always be turned to Jesus. You know how a sunflower follows the sun? And I was like, write Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: that down. And then, you know, she just has other little revelations that I just think, wow, that's super sweet that you would think that way. Devin Davis: Ha ha ha. Lindsay Moore: but she's super sweet. And, you know, I talked a little bit about my husband, but he is well, he's good. He's just a good husband. He's he's just as kind as what people get on the outside of our home. You know, I it's one thing that I love about him is that he's just consistently like this. You know, people will come to me, you maybe recruits parents or people that have met him and just say, you know, he's so nice, he's so personable, like you can tell that he really cared about us. Like he went out of his way for us. And I just always think how blessed I am that he's that way at home too. He's just he's a good husband and he's a good man and I'm just grateful for him. Devin Davis: Amen. That's awesome. I like I said, you know, I think it's so important in a marriage to have a spouse who's who's there to support. I I I you know, you you hear all the time, probably as I do, you know, tough days i i at work, losses, bad practices, Lindsay Moore: Hmm. Mm-hmm. Devin Davis: you know, the you're you're his his where he releases everything. At least I am, you know, okay. Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: let let it out. Let's hear about it. And we'll Lindsay Moore: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Devin Davis: pray about it and, you know, move on. So I think you Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Devin Davis: you probably hear a lot as I do as a coach's spouse and I think it's Lindsay Moore: Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Devin Davis: they they need to be able to to share that with somebody. So we get to hear that and just support them in what they do. So Lindsay Moore: Yeah, absolutely. Well, Devin, I don't know if you're a part of a chat, but I always laugh. You know, we have one guy who's actually in our wife's chat 'cause it's our like recruiting guys. She's getting married. And so we added Josh to our chat. But you gotta find yourself a spouse's chat and you guys can support each Devin Davis: Yeah. Lindsay Moore: other and get going. But yeah, they they need us for sure. And it's just a privilege to be able to support them. But really, I mean we just love the job. Like we love Our husband's players. They just become like family. Mackenzie thinks of them as big brothers and they're so kind and they just I can tell that they also love us. And so it's a sweet relationship. Devin Davis: Awesome. Well, I at the end of our podcast I always pray for our guests and so we'll go ahead and and do that and just to kind of end things off. So I'll go ahead and pray here. Father, thank you so much for this time together with Lindsay. just man, how just refreshing was it to spend time talking about your your goodness and your love and your faithfulness and and just I mean, just filled me up to to think about how you speak to us through your word and the reason you speak to us through the word and and the different seasons. In life we go through all for a reason, Father. Thank you for that reminder during our discussion today. I I also just want to thank you for Lindsay's faithfulness to to teach others, to teach other women, to to kind of guide them into your word, to know your word, to study your word, so that it draws us closer to you and so that we know your character more and more. And I just pray for people out there that are listening right now who feel kind of convicted. That in their hearts, man, I I just need to know more about God. And I just pray that they are able to find the discipline, the time, the commitment to reading your word, because it never returns void, is what what it says. So I just pray for that. I pray for people who are out there who are just kind of dabbling in the Bible, that you would fill them with your spirit and guide them in in all knowledge so that. as Lindsay said, so that they can be transformed, Father. That's that's the key. Father, if we're not in your word, we're not truly transformed. And so I just pray that you will transform people and help them to see that we are living a new way. we are a new creation, we are born again. and and that is just completely different. really surrendering to Christ, Father. Thank you. So much for her ministry. thank you for her faithfulness to the women's Bible study. Thank you for just the story that she she shared, her marriage for McKinsey. and I just pray that you will bless her, bless Shannon through this upcoming football season. and just thank you for their the way that they serve at the University of Wyoming with the with the football team, Father. you're you're so awesome and it's great to hear. someone else share that and so we're just blessed. And it's in your holy name we pray. Amen. So that was awesome. And I am again so thankful for the the time that we spent together today. Is there anything just kinda on your heart that that we haven't hit on or that you'd like for our listeners to know before we sign off? Lindsay Moore: Yeah, you know, one thing that's always on my heart, you know, we talk so much about Bible reading and getting into the discipline. We just can't forget grace. You know, that I even think about how the Bible is such a gift of grace. The Holy Spirit is a gift, it's a grace, a gift. It was given freely to us and it wasn't merited. It wasn't because we deserved it. It wasn't because we could earn it, but because God is so gracious. He just wanted us to have it. So even if you are a person who is like, I can't get in my word every day, do What you can get into a rhythm, get into a flow, because the Lord's gonna speak to you there. And I truly believe that when we start, He makes more time in our schedule. If that makes sense. Sometimes we just have to say, Lord, show me where. Show me where. Show me how. How can I do it? Where can I find the time? So I would encourage you that you're not under the law, you get to come, and it's it's just a good thing for you.
