- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The rex was
- 0:06Speaker 2: not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there. You love sandwiches. Huh,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Let's go to eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 3: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 1: Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 2: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He caught them the game last night. Although they won
- 0:28Speaker 1: the game. You're listening to to Goatson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Check him out on Wake Up Barstool eighth to ten am.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Every single morning. T Bob our friend is with us.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna see him later today. I'm very excited. I
- 0:39Speaker 2: did know I was going to see his dad, but
- 0:41Speaker 2: I am. I'm excited about that as well. T Bob
- 0:44Speaker 2: asked me last night, guys, whether or not we're still
- 0:46Speaker 2: on ignited T Bob to sit with me for a
- 0:49Speaker 2: lacrosse game.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And Northwestern has a game today. Tea.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Bob's in Chicago. I'm in Evanston. They're playing Colorado to
- 0:56Speaker 2: get to the Final Four, their fourth Final four in
- 0:58Speaker 2: four years. I did T Bob last night. He sent
- 1:01Speaker 2: me a text probably thinking we weren't still on.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Almost guaranteed, I mean from ed.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Granted, I only know you as a as a fan
- 1:10Speaker 5: and through getting to work together. You know we've become
- 1:13Speaker 5: podcasting friends.
- 1:15Speaker 4: But you know your your reputation, and I'm the same way.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'm the same way.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I haven't checked an email in my entire professional life.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I'm awful. So yeah, I just I thought for sure
- 1:24Speaker 4: it was going to get a no. But no, there
- 1:25Speaker 4: wasn't the case.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yes, this is a big step for us, Okay, a
- 1:29Speaker 2: big step in our relationship. Tell uh, tell everyone, Tell
- 1:33Speaker 2: the guys here and the audience. How I responded to
- 1:35Speaker 2: you asking you if our plans are still lot.
- 1:37Speaker 5: He said, texting my daughter now for an extra ticket,
- 1:40Speaker 5: get the hell over here, very kind, one thirty pm start.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I'll have no fewer than three joints on me. How
- 1:48Speaker 4: long are these games? Three courts? See? And this is
- 1:51Speaker 4: what's crazy to me.
- 1:52Speaker 5: And I'm someone who I've been a marijuana enjoyer my
- 1:56Speaker 5: entire life, like really probably daily since high school except
- 1:59Speaker 5: for college where we're starting to get drug tests and everything.
- 2:02Speaker 5: But but if I take a whole joint to the
- 2:06Speaker 5: dome now, I will have a panic attack.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Really, like I keep.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Them in my garage.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I sneak out, I hit it once or twice, and
- 2:13Speaker 5: then I put it back out and I go about
- 2:14Speaker 5: my day and I just sneak in it out of
- 2:15Speaker 5: my garage all day. You're still taking three joints within
- 2:19Speaker 5: a regulation lacrosse game, Stu.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an outdoor venue. It's fine. It's three joints.
- 2:24Speaker 2: They're not checking me. I've been to every game. I
- 2:26Speaker 2: know everyone there. I got the entire place wired.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 2:29Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm not talking about it in legal trouble.
- 2:31Speaker 5: I'm talking about that You're you're a tank like I mean,
- 2:35Speaker 5: I just I don't know. Like somewhere along the line,
- 2:37Speaker 5: my anxieties and life worries became so much like I
- 2:41Speaker 5: like the kind of high if I get like super Superstone,
- 2:45Speaker 5: now I will have a panic attack.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Okay, so first half, I will not smoke at all. Halftime.
- 2:51Speaker 2: If I leave you, it's only and your dad, it's
- 2:53Speaker 2: only because I went for a stroll around the stadium.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, well, I mean that's what I'm saying.
- 2:57Speaker 5: I'll go for a few steps on the stroll with
- 2:59Speaker 5: you and then just not uh and do you haven't
- 3:02Speaker 5: you have any heaters?
- 3:03Speaker 4: You know what. We'll get there. We'll get there, We'll.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Stu is the source for the entire lacrosse team. What
- 3:09Speaker 6: are you talking about right now?
- 3:12Speaker 1: Get out of here, so.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Stull, I'm glad you mentioned t Bob's dad going to
- 3:16Speaker 3: the game with you, because tee Bob mentioned his dad
- 3:19Speaker 3: was going, and you made it seem like getting him
- 3:21Speaker 3: a ticket would be like entering Fort Knox, sneaking him
- 3:24Speaker 3: into Fort Knock. I just went on, Yeah, I just
- 3:28Speaker 3: went on Northwestern's website. I was able to buy a
- 3:30Speaker 3: ticket for twenty three dollars. Te Bow, you need me
- 3:32Speaker 3: to transfer to the.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Sticketyah, please do because I didn't get his yet, So
- 3:35Speaker 2: buy one for him, buy one for his dad?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Please?
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yes, Yeah, that's on me.
- 3:40Speaker 5: When when when he said, originally I'll text what everybod
- 3:43Speaker 5: get actually ticket? When I read that response, my brain
- 3:46Speaker 5: automatically assumed that I had already asked, uh for my dad?
- 3:50Speaker 5: But no, no, not the case. But but I'm excited.
- 3:52Speaker 5: I've never seen I've never been Northwestern's campus before Evanston.
- 3:56Speaker 5: That's gonna be great side to check that out.
- 3:57Speaker 4: And I've never seen college across before. So I'm hype
- 4:01Speaker 4: I got a lot of it. Tona be a big day.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I'm going I'm gonna do some some driving range thing
- 4:06Speaker 5: at Wrigley tonight, nice where they turn the stadium into
- 4:09Speaker 5: a golf course. I'm getting to go to the eighty
- 4:11Speaker 5: five hundred for work next week. So guys, things are
- 4:13Speaker 5: fucking looking up right now.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yes, I can't wait to see a beautiful day outside
- 4:18Speaker 2: as well.
- 4:18Speaker 1: U T Bob.
- 4:19Speaker 2: What the hell is going on with LSU and Mississippi
- 4:22Speaker 2: and Lane Kiffin?
- 4:23Speaker 4: H We're having a less racist off very rare, very rare.
- 4:28Speaker 5: It does not it does not come about often, and
- 4:33Speaker 5: yet here we are. And I made the mistake of
- 4:39Speaker 5: waiting into this conversation with broad declarative statements, and and
- 4:45Speaker 5: let's be painfully clear, this is about as nuanced of
- 4:51Speaker 5: a topic as you could actually discuss on these airwaves.
- 4:55Speaker 5: When you're talking about the South's overall history with segregation, racism,
- 5:00Speaker 5: when you're talking about these schools and how it pertains
- 5:03Speaker 5: to them, Where a lot of these schools traditions or
- 5:06Speaker 5: mascots come from, where their names come from, personal experiences.
- 5:12Speaker 5: So look, I saw the Kivin quote and I immediately
- 5:18Speaker 5: tweeted like, look, one of my favorite I can't remember
- 5:21Speaker 5: the exact week, so I'm just COVERBATA. But it was like,
- 5:22Speaker 5: you know what, one of my favorite parts about going
- 5:24Speaker 5: to LSU was it felt more diverse.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Than the other SEC schools that I visited. Well, you know, the.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Next few hours, I'm just getting bipartisananly roasted, like the
- 5:41Speaker 5: rights yelling at me about being a pussy and caring
- 5:45Speaker 5: about diversity and virtue signaling, and then the left yelling
- 5:48Speaker 5: at me about like it's actually still pretty fucking racist.
- 5:52Speaker 4: It's segregated, so you're an idiot.
- 5:54Speaker 5: And I'm like, okay, you know what, I'm gonna take
- 5:56Speaker 5: the l on this.
- 5:58Speaker 4: This is this is a nuanced subject.
- 5:59Speaker 5: And again I just came in here with a broad,
- 6:02Speaker 5: sweeping sort of statement. I would say this, First, I
- 6:09Speaker 5: recognize I am not the person to be an authority
- 6:13Speaker 5: on this. I am a rich, entitled white kid who
- 6:17Speaker 5: who so my experience is going to be vastly different
- 6:19Speaker 5: from any from other people's.
- 6:21Speaker 4: I would also.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Say that in my experience, I came from a private
- 6:27Speaker 5: school in Georgia to a small private school, you know,
- 6:31Speaker 5: almost universally white, to then moving about Rouge, a majority
- 6:37Speaker 5: black city and a team especially that was a Geordia
- 6:41Speaker 5: black So for me, it felt incredibly diverse, and it
- 6:44Speaker 5: felt like I was thrust into situations and I'd never
- 6:47Speaker 5: been in before and game days and everything else, like
- 6:52Speaker 5: I I honestly and and and and and yes, I
- 6:55Speaker 5: visited Auburn ole, Miss Georgia, like I went to all
- 6:58Speaker 5: the SEC schools.
- 6:59Speaker 4: I've party of the mall, is recruited to the mall.
- 7:02Speaker 5: In my opinion, which is tinged with bias and my
- 7:05Speaker 5: own perception and experience, I did feel like LSU was
- 7:08Speaker 5: a bit different.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Now is that grading on.
- 7:12Speaker 5: A scale of like I think it's a scale like
- 7:15Speaker 5: less bad, right, I don't necessarily we have not tipped
- 7:18Speaker 5: into it being oh this is a super good, super
- 7:20Speaker 5: healthy situation. I think if you look at race and
- 7:24Speaker 5: and stuff in the South, it's it's like a it's
- 7:28Speaker 5: you know, progress is never linear, right, and you zoom
- 7:32Speaker 5: out and things have gotten better overall, but you zoom
- 7:35Speaker 5: in and there's all these peaks and valleys and like
- 7:38Speaker 5: even a bat Rouge right now, there's like major like
- 7:42Speaker 5: fucked up redistricting going on and people like trying to
- 7:45Speaker 5: break out inform cities basically like white flights. So like,
- 7:48Speaker 5: I am not saying anything is perfect. I know that
- 7:51Speaker 5: people's experiences will vary. You can still be as racist
- 7:56Speaker 5: as you want, you can still be as segregate as
- 7:58Speaker 5: you want, and your experiences can kind of reflect what
- 8:01Speaker 5: you put in. For me, it was an awesome experience
- 8:05Speaker 5: where I was exposed to a lot of things, cultures,
- 8:09Speaker 5: guys that I never was before, that I never would
- 8:11Speaker 5: have been in any other situation, and so I spoke
- 8:16Speaker 5: positively on behalf of LSU. I would also say this,
- 8:20Speaker 5: I don't I don't pretend to know what Lane's motivations are.
- 8:25Speaker 5: You know, he says, Oh, it was a four hour interview.
- 8:27Speaker 5: They asked me all kinds of questions, and I just
- 8:28Speaker 5: said what was on my mind at the time. He
- 8:31Speaker 5: could be more calculated that I'm not gonna be not
- 8:34Speaker 5: I even say that's not the case.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I guess.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I would also say that I don't find the story
- 8:39Speaker 5: that he said hard to believe in that there were
- 8:44Speaker 5: parents or grandparents of out of state recruits that express
- 8:48Speaker 5: some concern over you know, rebel flags and Colonel reb
- 8:55Speaker 5: and even though like the name Tigers comes from a
- 8:58Speaker 5: Confederate War group. And like again, all these schools they
- 9:01Speaker 5: don't reflect their states demographically. Uh, they're not like progress,
- 9:06Speaker 5: more stuff and more progress has been made. But in
- 9:09Speaker 5: my experience I did find Yeah, I think it's easier
- 9:14Speaker 5: to imagine a world where out of state recruits parents
- 9:17Speaker 5: were more comfortable in Baton Rouge at LSU than they
- 9:20Speaker 5: were in Oxford, Mississippi. I don't that's like very long
- 9:24Speaker 5: witted answer.
- 9:25Speaker 6: I don't get Sark randomly dumping on Old Miss though.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I didn't understand that either.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Well, because they're like USC guys kipping at start, they
- 9:31Speaker 5: were like the brain trust of the caroll Era.
- 9:34Speaker 4: They're still boys.
- 9:35Speaker 5: He comes out of nowhere excuses Old Miss of basket weaving.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I don't know, I mean it, what is Texas? Like?
- 9:40Speaker 4: What's he trying to say?
- 9:41Speaker 5: Like Texas is really trying to bang their athletes academically?
- 9:45Speaker 4: Give the fuck out of here?
- 9:45Speaker 7: Does he also know he's got a Manning at quarterback
- 9:48Speaker 7: and Ole Miss maybe has a history with Manning's Oh yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 7: that's also very tru.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but these coaches don't care, like Sart doesn't care.
- 9:56Speaker 2: He'll go to Old Miss and starts slam in Texas.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You know, it's crazy, T Bob, Like, these guys are.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Not no, no, and and so like I think again,
- 10:04Speaker 5: I think it's like it's it's it's a really dumb
- 10:08Speaker 5: conversation to try to have on Twitter. And the problem
- 10:12Speaker 5: is it's a serious conversation that is actually interesting and
- 10:16Speaker 5: worthy of discussion if we really want to get into
- 10:19Speaker 5: like are these SEC schools improving when it comes to
- 10:22Speaker 5: like enrollment, how students are treated, are these cities improving,
- 10:26Speaker 5: Like what efforts are being made to try to erase
- 10:30Speaker 5: a lot of the kind of racist foundations that a
- 10:34Speaker 5: lot of these institutions have been built on. Uh.
- 10:37Speaker 4: But then it really gets.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Fucked up because you take this very serious and the
- 10:41Speaker 5: conversation discussion that really you should have, like very educated
- 10:44Speaker 5: speople talking on with different backgrounds, and then you have
- 10:49Speaker 5: Lane Kiffin as the vehicle to kickstart it, and that
- 10:51Speaker 5: just sucks up everything because Lane comes with so many
- 10:56Speaker 5: different motivations, so many different loyalties. People who love him
- 10:59Speaker 5: hate it man, And so it was just an immediately
- 11:02Speaker 5: just a disaster for nearly all parties involved.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it was weird how Sark chimed in and on
- 11:09Speaker 3: the topic of chiming in Ta Bob. One of my
- 11:11Speaker 3: favorite developments from Wake Up Barstool is the only thing
- 11:15Speaker 3: Lil Wayne tweets about.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Now yeah, is you.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Wayne Tucci's on my ass right now? First, first he was,
- 11:27Speaker 5: my shorts are too short. Then I have I have
- 11:31Speaker 5: made it my life's mission to shut these bitching Lakers
- 11:37Speaker 5: fans up.
- 11:38Speaker 4: The Los Angeles Lakers.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Get special treatment from the referees, unlike any NBA team
- 11:45Speaker 5: we have ever seen, and yet they want every postgame
- 11:49Speaker 5: conversation to be about the refs helping out. Okayc It's
- 11:53Speaker 5: it's absolutely absurd to me. I mean, the Los Angeles
- 11:56Speaker 5: Lakers had nearly double the free throw different of the
- 12:00Speaker 5: second place team this year. You can expand that to
- 12:03Speaker 5: five years and they're nearly double. Go look at the series.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Go look at who shot the most free throws in
- 12:08Speaker 5: the playoffs. You look at the season. Leads a league
- 12:13Speaker 5: with ten free throws a game.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I trust them, get out of here.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Like the facts are. And there's ecause they fell to
- 12:19Speaker 4: do this. Okay, they play hard, they fell out, Okay, whatever,
- 12:22Speaker 4: and I like I like Sja's style of play.
- 12:25Speaker 5: It is a little it's it's it's like an old
- 12:27Speaker 5: school like Dwayne Wade slasher attacking guard makes it a
- 12:32Speaker 5: little too much James Harden.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I'll give it that Dwayne Wade without the dunks, I mean,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but it's.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Also the nature, but also his his style is a
- 12:39Speaker 5: bit of a lost art mid range assassin.
- 12:42Speaker 4: We don't see it anymore, so I kind of like
- 12:43Speaker 4: because of that. And then also he.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Like like, yes, okay, there is too much flopping, but
- 12:51Speaker 5: that's the game now, Like at a certain point, you
- 12:53Speaker 5: gotta meet the game where it's at. Like you don't
- 12:56Speaker 5: watch a soccer game and bitch about them flopping. It's
- 12:58Speaker 5: an accepted part of the game, for better or worse.
- 13:01Speaker 5: The reality of basketball now is that is an accepted
- 13:04Speaker 5: part of the game. So Lakers fans, you always get
- 13:07Speaker 5: special treatment. Missed me with complaining about the refs, especially
- 13:11Speaker 5: because you lost, because the thunder are just fucking incredible
- 13:14Speaker 5: and they do everything and they're the most.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Complete team I I I feel like, well, I don't know,
- 13:19Speaker 4: because we just.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Had the Warriors, so I'm probably recentcy biased, but they
- 13:23Speaker 5: feel like one of the most complete teams I've ever
- 13:24Speaker 5: seen in my entire life.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I just don't watch the soccer game. That's what I did.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Wait exactly, that's your progative.
- 13:32Speaker 6: What did Wayne get you on? He was just defending
- 13:34Speaker 6: Lakers fans.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Yeah, well yeah, and then and then yeah, so so
- 13:37Speaker 5: so I came out with that whole thing. And it
- 13:39Speaker 5: was after they like took the rest to the side
- 13:41Speaker 5: after the game, and Austin Reeves is like, you know,
- 13:47Speaker 5: there's actually a very funny tweet that was like, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 5: me watching my wife complain to the hotel manager about
- 13:52Speaker 5: a reservation and like that that is me. I'm non confrontational,
- 13:55Speaker 5: Like if you serve me the wrong food at a restaurant,
- 13:57Speaker 5: I won't send it back.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'll just eat it.
- 13:59Speaker 4: You know, I don't care or anything. My wife will
- 14:01Speaker 4: get on your ass. So I thought that was very funny.
- 14:03Speaker 4: But but yeah, and then so he was like, oh
- 14:04Speaker 4: Laker gang blah blah blah. And then yesterday he got
- 14:08Speaker 4: on me for showing too much chest hair and bad posture.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And I disagree about the chest hair. I like showing.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Cleavage, right, I think cleavage. I did the posture thing,
- 14:22Speaker 5: and he was actually absolutely right about that. I looked
- 14:25Speaker 5: multiple orders of magnitude better when I set up straight
- 14:28Speaker 5: at what.
- 14:29Speaker 7: Point in your life did you think that you would
- 14:31Speaker 7: be checked, that got fit checked and posture checked by
- 14:34Speaker 7: Lil Wayne every second you're on television.
- 14:36Speaker 5: It is, it is so surreal because you know, I
- 14:40Speaker 5: went to l SU seven to eleven. Carter three was
- 14:44Speaker 5: like basically like the theme of my college. And then
- 14:47Speaker 5: you talk about anybody from Louisiana, I mean Wayne is
- 14:50Speaker 5: like the one people the one gride that people have
- 14:52Speaker 5: in Louisiana about Wayne is simply just that he's a
- 14:55Speaker 5: Packers fan. Like that's like the only thing that people
- 14:58Speaker 5: that that that people don't like is that he doesn't
- 15:00Speaker 5: rep the Saints.
- 15:01Speaker 4: But like, yeah, he's a god basically. So it's it's
- 15:05Speaker 4: really weird.
- 15:05Speaker 5: And I said it yesterday on our YouTube post show
- 15:08Speaker 5: Chill Hangout thing that we do Wednesday and Friday.
- 15:10Speaker 4: But uh, I.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Have what I would say is my dream job and
- 15:18Speaker 5: a dream opportunity right now. That is the greatest thing
- 15:22Speaker 5: you can possibly have in life. But because of how
- 15:24Speaker 5: my brain works, imposter syndrome, all that sort of stuff,
- 15:28Speaker 5: it also comes with a constant fear of failing, a
- 15:31Speaker 5: constant fear of failing. And when you're talking about linear television,
- 15:36Speaker 5: you know, we we've FS one has struggled to various
- 15:39Speaker 5: degrees with that morning slot, trying to you know, Catsu
- 15:41Speaker 5: you see, like all this other sort of stuff, and
- 15:44Speaker 5: we're just constantly getting articles written about how bad the
- 15:47Speaker 5: linear ratings are, this shows a disaster and.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Blah blah blah, and it sucks, just like you're really trying.
- 15:52Speaker 4: You want to do it good and you try to
- 15:54Speaker 4: figure it out. You're putting your heart into it and
- 15:57Speaker 4: and so, in a weird way, having.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Low Wayne consistently wants the show and tweeting the show
- 16:03Speaker 5: feels like a measure of success that I can make
- 16:07Speaker 5: myself feel better with at night.
- 16:09Speaker 4: And look, the internet numbers are good, the clip numbers
- 16:11Speaker 4: are good.
- 16:11Speaker 5: All that short of shit, But even that doesn't mean
- 16:14Speaker 5: as much as having Tunci as one of our loyal
- 16:18Speaker 5: p ones.
- 16:19Speaker 6: The T and T bop stance for thighs.
- 16:26Speaker 8: And Gee Bob, I'm hoping you're more like me than
- 16:36Speaker 8: you are with Izzie and Taylor. I'm excited for the
- 16:39Speaker 8: NFL schedule release today. Do you do you get into
- 16:42Speaker 8: it or are you kind of like I don't care?
- 16:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:44Speaker 5: No, no, I absolutely, I mean, look, is it you
- 16:47Speaker 5: know we I've definitely done bits where it's like interrupting
- 16:50Speaker 5: the show this morning, like, oh fuck Saints Giants Week six,
- 16:54Speaker 5: one pm.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Oh god, that's big, dude. But at the same time,
- 17:00Speaker 4: I'm I don't care about it.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Maybe as much from the NFL as a whole, but
- 17:04Speaker 5: when you love your team, it is objectively fun to
- 17:09Speaker 5: look at the rhythm of a season and be like,
- 17:12Speaker 5: this is the stretch, right, this is the quarter right here,
- 17:15Speaker 5: these four right here, we go two and two here right,
- 17:18Speaker 5: and we're going over super Bowl two and two.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Here, we're going to a wildcard, like like, oh my god,
- 17:24Speaker 4: look at this. So we got to come home and
- 17:25Speaker 4: then we got three road games. Oh and this is
- 17:27Speaker 4: right before Paris.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Like the rhythm of schedules when it comes to football
- 17:31Speaker 5: I really enjoy.
- 17:32Speaker 4: But you do have to accept that strength to schedule, which.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Granted now I think we're getting better at it, Like
- 17:38Speaker 5: I read a Warren Sharp thread earlier where he calculated
- 17:41Speaker 5: his strength to schedule using betting markets, which is more accurate,
- 17:45Speaker 5: I believe than using wins and losses from last year.
- 17:48Speaker 5: But still, strength to schedule is a dangerous science in
- 17:51Speaker 5: the NFL to engage with just because fortunes can rise
- 17:55Speaker 5: and fall on such a kind of year to year basis.
- 17:58Speaker 5: But it's still super fun to play with the hype atheticals.
- 18:01Speaker 1: When you do that schedule thing and you go through
- 18:02Speaker 1: the Saint schedule. Are they always at the end?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Okay, they haven't played a game yet, but are they
- 18:07Speaker 2: always a playoff team in your mind?
- 18:08Speaker 1: Is that how you do it?
- 18:09Speaker 4: They're always at nine wins? Yeah, you know, you just
- 18:12Speaker 4: gotta find the ten. We just gonna where I'm sniffing
- 18:15Speaker 4: out that tenth win like a fucking truffle pig. I
- 18:18Speaker 4: mean that divisions been rooting around in the soil.
- 18:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna find it somewhere here. It's I mean, it's
- 18:24Speaker 5: really even even more so than that. I've never seen
- 18:28Speaker 5: an LSU schedule where I haven't seen nine wins at least.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Right like nine and three every single year.
- 18:33Speaker 5: And it's and it's gone awry a lot lately, and
- 18:36Speaker 5: yet every single year it's nine and three baseline?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Mikey, have you stopped doing that with the Jets? I
- 18:41Speaker 2: still do it with the Jets. I try to get
- 18:43Speaker 2: them to eleven and six every single year.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I mean I do.
- 18:46Speaker 8: I have picked out the wrong four game stretch that
- 18:49Speaker 8: they're going to win every year for last decade, and frankly,
- 18:54Speaker 8: it's a tradition unlike any other.
- 18:59Speaker 6: I'm learning a lot.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Talk about what are you doing at Wrigley Field today? Man,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you'll live with a life you really are.
- 19:03Speaker 5: It's it's no, it's crazy, man, It's it's again. It's
- 19:05Speaker 5: one of those things where it's just like I I
- 19:08Speaker 5: anytime the negative thoughts started to take over, I have
- 19:11Speaker 5: to force myself to really take a step back and
- 19:13Speaker 5: engage in gratitude because I have nothing. I just have
- 19:16Speaker 5: to be so thankful for me at currently and I'm
- 19:18Speaker 5: not gonna fear the future of whatever it holds. I'm
- 19:20Speaker 5: going to enjoy the present. So tonight they did this
- 19:24Speaker 5: like Tiger Stadium back the day and I couldn't make it.
- 19:26Speaker 5: But there's some company that goes around in famous stadiums
- 19:28Speaker 5: and makes them.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Into like golf courses or something.
- 19:32Speaker 5: And this morning PFT was like, Hey, I got a
- 19:34Speaker 5: couple extra tickets to this, would you you you want
- 19:36Speaker 5: to go?
- 19:36Speaker 4: And so yeah, so me and my wife are gonna go.
- 19:38Speaker 5: After the Lax game, I'm gonna go pick her up
- 19:41Speaker 5: and we're gonna head down to Wrigley and we're gonna
- 19:43Speaker 5: play golf awe at Wrigley.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I don't know exactly how it's gonna work.
- 19:48Speaker 1: That sounds awesome.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Yeah, they like they change it into a little uh
- 19:52Speaker 5: into a golf course basically, and that's gonna be super
- 19:55Speaker 5: fucking cool.
- 19:56Speaker 7: Speaking of not knowing how things work, did you know
- 19:58Speaker 7: how truffle pigs actually work?
- 20:01Speaker 5: I I have. My experience of truffle pigs is essentially
- 20:06Speaker 5: just a Nicholas Cage movie Pig, which is a very
- 20:09Speaker 5: good movie, a very good movie.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I would recommend it. But don't they sniff out the mushrooms? Yeah?
- 20:14Speaker 1: They do.
- 20:15Speaker 7: What I didn't realize is it's female pigs and they're
- 20:18Speaker 7: naturally drawn to the aroma of truffles because it mimics
- 20:21Speaker 7: the sex pheromone of male pigs.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So all we're doing is.
- 20:25Speaker 7: Making these female pigs all the time while we get
- 20:29Speaker 7: white tule.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I feel.
- 20:32Speaker 4: That's why I call my wife. That's why I call
- 20:34Speaker 4: my wife my little truffle piggy. I don't actually I
- 20:37Speaker 4: don't know. That's no, that's not that would get me
- 20:40Speaker 4: into big trouble. That's not would get you divorced.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Mean she can smell you from wherever she She loves it.
- 20:48Speaker 1: She really loves it. T Bob.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I told my wife you were coming to the lacrosse game.
- 20:53Speaker 2: She said, well, who's coming? I said, a friend of mine?
- 20:54Speaker 2: I said, a guy from barstool.
- 20:55Speaker 1: She goes the Wiggles guy.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I've made it. I've made it.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So I'm just stroll in there today with your dad
- 21:04Speaker 1: singing fruit salad. Yummy, yummy.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Okay, yummy, he shout out. Simon.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I love Big Red.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Simon's my all time favorite wiggle.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Anthony's the og for sure, but Simon I always had
- 21:14Speaker 5: like a weird natural affinity towards.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yes, I know you gotta run. Are you annoyed by
- 21:20Speaker 1: Knicks fans? Okay, take a sip. Go ahead, take a sip.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Think about that for a second.
- 21:27Speaker 5: No, no, no, so so I want to I want
- 21:29Speaker 5: to be careful how I'm saying. I am not annoyed
- 21:32Speaker 5: with true Knicks fans like everybody else. I really loved
- 21:39Speaker 5: the wild scenes outside of Madison Square Garden when they
- 21:42Speaker 5: first started going viral, like you know, last year, everything else,
- 21:45Speaker 5: like I think I was doing. I was doing a
- 21:47Speaker 5: show with one of my other radio goat mentors, Jim
- 21:51Speaker 5: Rome and we used to always.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Break down those videos. We got a lot of fun
- 21:56Speaker 4: with them. But they they kind of crossed the rubicon
- 22:01Speaker 4: into being a bit performative.
- 22:03Speaker 5: So like they were but but but I don't want
- 22:06Speaker 5: to pay with the broad brush here because there are
- 22:08Speaker 5: a lot of true died in the wool, hardcore ass
- 22:12Speaker 5: live and die with this team Knicks fans that I
- 22:15Speaker 5: still love, still appreciate, still love watching their reaction.
- 22:19Speaker 4: It just feels like like like it was.
- 22:22Speaker 1: It was.
- 22:22Speaker 5: It was really dumb when the Knicks lost that game
- 22:26Speaker 5: to the Hawks and then Nick Sands are out there
- 22:28Speaker 5: celebrating like Nixon five, Nixon five like no, like like.
- 22:32Speaker 4: That that that was that was performative. So so there's
- 22:34Speaker 4: I'm not done with Nick fans as a whole. I
- 22:37Speaker 4: may be just done with those videos for a little
- 22:39Speaker 4: bit until until they until they get to the finals.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Then he could actually get you know, if they get there,
- 22:44Speaker 5: they could get crazy again.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I tell you, hear him. He's telling you to shut
- 22:48Speaker 1: up and let us handle it. Yeah, let us.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Handle it, Taylor, No, te Bob, this is a problem, Taylor.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Come late right now where they're trying to hedge my
- 22:59Speaker 3: happiness by saying like, don't get too excited. But they're
- 23:02Speaker 3: also trying to get excited at the same time. And
- 23:04Speaker 3: I'm looking at them like, if you weren't here for
- 23:07Speaker 3: a little Munson, I don't want you here for Jalen Bronson.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Please.
- 23:11Speaker 5: So so you went through, you went through the hard
- 23:12Speaker 5: times Taylor, and there the Johnny cum Lately's here.
- 23:15Speaker 6: Yes time Taylor's life for Steve Novak was a savior.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yes, look I get it.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Man, I'm not gonna lie.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Like the Pelicans I was obsessed with for years, and
- 23:30Speaker 5: I used to go to every game in the New
- 23:31Speaker 5: Orleans and and and and I said, through so many
- 23:34Speaker 5: awful lineups, so many bad, bad seasons, so many bad games,
- 23:37Speaker 5: so much ad disappointment, and it's actually broken me. I've
- 23:43Speaker 5: now spent like two years kind of checked out and
- 23:46Speaker 5: and and and and it sucks and it sucks.
- 23:48Speaker 4: And maybe I'll come back in if they you know,
- 23:50Speaker 4: when they win again. I'm sure I will.
- 23:52Speaker 5: But like I'm not one to judge anybody who's been
- 23:56Speaker 5: broken by their franchisees ineptitude.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I mean, the latest news cycle the Pelicans is that.
- 24:01Speaker 5: And even though there's some insinuating context here that like
- 24:04Speaker 5: on how this came about, because the NBA trades and everything.
- 24:08Speaker 5: The Pelicans gave up what would have been the fifth
- 24:11Speaker 5: and eighth pick in this year's draft to move up
- 24:15Speaker 5: to thirteen last year and get there, Queen, What the
- 24:20Speaker 5: fuck Joe Dumars. No one even like the new Mars
- 24:23Speaker 5: hired to begin with, and now that happens absolute but
- 24:27Speaker 5: we got there, Queen.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Okay, fine, he's okay.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Jeremih fears he's exciting too. But like if you had
- 24:32Speaker 5: fifth and eighth in this year's draft, I'd be all
- 24:34Speaker 5: the way back.
- 24:35Speaker 4: It's just brutal.
- 24:36Speaker 1: It's brutal.
- 24:36Speaker 4: We are the Jets of the NBA in many ways.
- 24:40Speaker 4: You've got a long ways to go.
- 24:42Speaker 6: You gotta hear you gotta earn that pain about forty
- 24:48Speaker 6: before you get to us.
- 24:51Speaker 2: All right, te Bob, get out of here. I'll see
- 24:53Speaker 2: you later at the lacrosse game. I look forward to
- 24:55Speaker 2: seeing you, hanging with you, seeing your dad, meeting your
- 24:57Speaker 2: dad as well.
- 24:58Speaker 1: So I can't wait.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Man, A couple of the old radio og is gonna
- 25:01Speaker 5: be chopping it up. The cajing cannonates to gods. Yes,
- 25:05Speaker 5: I mean the amount of stories. I don't know how
- 25:08Speaker 5: anybody's gonna get a word in. It's it's gonna be,
- 25:10Speaker 5: it's gonna be fascinating.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Keep in mind, my wife's gonna be there. So what's
- 25:15Speaker 1: not like? Not too much? Okay, let's keep it down, Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 4: All right, let's go. Hey, Hey, what do we say?
- 25:20Speaker 4: Go cats?
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah? Go cats?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Go cats? Baby g e a u X go cats
- 25:24Speaker 4: or bringing a little Cajun flair? All right? I love
- 25:27Speaker 4: you guys, You're all the absolute best. Sorry, I couldn't
- 25:29Speaker 4: stay longer day.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I love you all right,
