- 0:50Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I have another fabulous
- 0:54Speaker 3: show with you today. I have a great guest. First,
- 0:58Speaker 3: let me just get into some business. I am packing
- 1:00Speaker 3: my cute outfits. I'm going to Las Vegas. Here I
- 1:03Speaker 3: made the billboard of the Venetian. I will be there
- 1:06Speaker 3: May 27th, as you know, for my live Juicy Scoop.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And I have got to tell you, in prepping the
- 1:11Speaker 3: show and producing the show, I am so excited for
- 1:14Speaker 3: this show. It is going to be so hilarious. I
- 1:17Speaker 3: have a segment with Justin, another juicy one with Spencer,
- 1:20Speaker 3: we're going to talk all the latest on Vanderpump Rules
- 1:23Speaker 3: there and all the inside scoop he has. And then
- 1:25Speaker 3: I've got Chris coming on. And we are going down
- 1:28Speaker 3: some hilarious memory lane stuff. And also great topics. I'm
- 1:33Speaker 3: just really excited for the show. And if you cannot
- 1:36Speaker 3: come to that show in person, though, there are still
- 1:38Speaker 3: tickets available for this fun Memorial Day weekend. you can
- 1:42Speaker 3: go to heathermcdolland.net and click on the streamer with Moment House.
- 1:46Speaker 3: This will be the third time I've done it. Everyone
- 1:48Speaker 3: is always very satisfied with the experience. I was wrong
- 1:52Speaker 3: when I said that you only had 72 hours to
- 1:54Speaker 3: watch it. You actually have seven days after it becomes
- 1:58Speaker 3: available live on May 27th at 8.30 p.m. Then you
- 2:05Speaker 3: can watch it for seven days and then it's gone forever.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And I'm telling you, there's some serious juice that I
- 2:09Speaker 3: am saving just for this experience that you will get
- 2:13Speaker 3: to be part of. Again, HeatherMcDonald.net. Also, super juicy Patreon
- 2:17Speaker 3: this Friday. All of it will be happening because it'll
- 2:20Speaker 3: be all, you know, juicy stuff that's happening in my
- 2:23Speaker 3: life and the fun weekend that I get to experience
- 2:25Speaker 3: with my favorites, Chris, Justin, and Spencer. Um, A couple
- 2:31Speaker 3: little updates on Vanderpump Rules. As you know, tonight's the
- 2:34Speaker 3: reunion because I'm recording this Wednesday. You're listening to it
- 2:37Speaker 3: Thursday morning, so you could be shooketh by now. But
- 2:40Speaker 3: I will just follow up on a few things. According
- 2:43Speaker 3: to Intel, Kristen says that she believes that Tom got
- 2:49Speaker 3: together with Billy Lee, who was once on the show.
- 2:52Speaker 3: The intel is that is not true. Also, Tom has
- 2:56Speaker 3: been said to have a new influencer girlfriend recently. who
- 2:59Speaker 3: kind of looks like Erica Jane. She's blonde. She lives
- 3:02Speaker 3: in Austin. And they were seen at a restaurant. They
- 3:05Speaker 3: were seen shopping. They've also been told that they're just friends. Also,
- 3:14Speaker 3: we saw that Ariana moved out of her house. We
- 3:17Speaker 3: now know that she wasn't moving out of her house.
- 3:20Speaker 3: It was a paid sponsorship for something, and she really
- 3:23Speaker 3: hasn't moved out of the house. She's also going to be.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Giving out chicken at Cane's in like El Segundo. And then,
- 3:32Speaker 3: of course, she was on Call Her Daddy, which was
- 3:36Speaker 3: very good, and she gave a lot of insight on
- 3:38Speaker 3: her side of what was going on. I listened to
- 3:41Speaker 3: some of it. But I do think all these things
- 3:44Speaker 3: is what she said. She is going to, as I
- 3:47Speaker 3: always say, make the money while you can make it,
- 3:49Speaker 3: whether it's selling chicken wings at Cane's, doing someone's show.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Whatever it is, make that money, girl, so that you
- 3:57Speaker 3: can get out of that house and buy your own.
- 3:59Speaker 3: But I think that's what's going on here. And so
- 4:03Speaker 3: don't be mad that you thought she really moved into
- 4:05Speaker 3: the house and she didn't. You would take the money, too.
- 4:10Speaker 3: People are saying it's been confirmed Raquel is not pregnant.
- 4:13Speaker 3: We are going to find out not this week. We're
- 4:16Speaker 3: probably going to find on the third or the final
- 4:18Speaker 3: reunion is when we're really going to know what is
- 4:20Speaker 3: this big secret. A couple things could be... I am pregnant.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I was pregnant. I have a drug and alcohol problem
- 4:28Speaker 3: that caused me to do this. And the final one,
- 4:30Speaker 3: which is many people have speculated, I have just been
- 4:33Speaker 3: recently diagnosed that I am on the spectrum for autism, Asperger's, whatever,
- 4:39Speaker 3: therefore not getting to understand social cues. And that causes
- 4:44Speaker 3: my awkwardness and my whatever. All that could be happening.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We will soon find out. Also, someone said, hey, was
- 4:52Speaker 3: she a fan of Euphoria? Did she watch that and
- 4:56Speaker 3: somehow that got into her brain and she wanted to
- 4:58Speaker 3: be like the Sidney Sweeney character that slept with her
- 5:02Speaker 3: best friend's boyfriend, Jake? I don't know. I'd be very
- 5:08Speaker 3: curious to know. Did she watch every season of Euphoria
- 5:12Speaker 3: and how intently was she into that show? I texted
- 5:15Speaker 3: Sheena and asked, are you guys fans? I haven't heard back.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Very curious about that. Anyway, it's very interesting. I was
- 5:24Speaker 3: always interested in Ariana and Tom's relationship. I thought it
- 5:28Speaker 3: was weird when they bought a house because she said,
- 5:30Speaker 3: I never want to get married. I never want to
- 5:33Speaker 3: have kids. He said he wanted to have kids, but
- 5:35Speaker 3: then they bought this house. But then she said we
- 5:37Speaker 3: were each other's ride or die. We were each other's.
- 5:41Speaker 3: If the apocalypse happens, we're going to have each other
- 5:43Speaker 3: till the end. And that is why when they only
- 5:45Speaker 3: had sex four times a year, she just thought they
- 5:47Speaker 3: were going through a phase. But this was just ebbs
- 5:50Speaker 3: and flows. That was basically the gist of the last
- 5:52Speaker 3: interview she did. So there we are. I just wanted
- 5:54Speaker 3: to fill you guys in. I know some of you
- 5:56Speaker 3: are very sick of talking about this. And you're like, Heather,
- 5:59Speaker 3: can you just get back to the fun, juicy scoop? Well,
- 6:02Speaker 3: I am because I have a great guest. And we
- 6:04Speaker 3: are going to get into hot topics as well as
- 6:07Speaker 3: his hilarious reactions to watching Housewives for the first time.
- 6:11Speaker 3: And you're going to love it. It's a juicy scoop. Bravo, Heather. Bravo,
- 6:16Speaker 3: Real Housewives history lesson for you all. Get ready for
- 6:18Speaker 3: a great show. And don't forget to go to heathermcdonald.net
- 6:22Speaker 3: for all the live tickets, my merch, and, of course,
- 6:25Speaker 3: to join my Patreon. Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I have a dear friend of mine, Guy Branum, writer, showrunner, comedian, actor, model,
- 6:39Speaker 3: all of it. But more importantly, my one-time... office husband roommate,
- 6:45Speaker 3: office mate at Chelsea Lately. Welcome back to Juicy Scoop.
- 6:49Speaker 3: You've been on two times?
- 6:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Over the years. The one good thing out of the
- 6:53Speaker 3: writer's strike is that you are available.
- 6:56Speaker 4: And?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Not only available to come on my show, but available
- 6:59Speaker 3: to For the first time, sit down and watch all
- 7:03Speaker 3: the housewives. You're texting me questions. We had one intense
- 7:08Speaker 3: moment at the Abbey where you asked me a lot.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And then you wrote me yesterday and I was like,
- 7:13Speaker 3: this is perfect. Come on in. So welcome back.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Good to be here. I just, the thing is, is
- 7:19Speaker 5: I wanted to have an additional thing I could talk
- 7:22Speaker 5: to gay guys about. Like during the pandemic, I dueling
- 7:25Speaker 5: good French a bunch.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Oh, we also need to disclose that. being that it's
- 7:30Speaker 3: Pride Summer, that you are, in fact, an out gay man.
- 7:33Speaker 5: I'm an out gay man. I'm announcing it officially for
- 7:35Speaker 5: the first time here. But I wanted to have another
- 7:39Speaker 5: thing to talk to gay guys about, and so I
- 7:41Speaker 5: was like, I will watch all of Beverly Hills. I
- 7:44Speaker 5: was just like, I will take one franchise, and I
- 7:46Speaker 5: will just have it authoritatively.
- 7:47Speaker 3: That's your Christian service as a gay man. Yes. And
- 7:50Speaker 3: a Jew.
- 7:52Speaker 5: And it was really compelling, but also while watching it,
- 7:55Speaker 5: I just kept thinking back to, not so much with
- 7:58Speaker 5: Beverly Hills, but like my friend Matt Rogers, he very
- 8:01Speaker 5: much was like, you have to just take this momentum
- 8:03Speaker 5: and go straight into New York. And watching the first
- 8:06Speaker 5: season of New York, that was like a time when
- 8:08Speaker 5: we were working together. And it was also a time
- 8:11Speaker 5: when you, I just remember you being so excited about
- 8:15Speaker 5: OC and just sort of like that world. And then
- 8:18Speaker 5: when New York started up, I watched a little bit.
- 8:21Speaker 5: And so I had so many questions. And also I
- 8:23Speaker 5: love knowing backstory on stuff so I'm constantly Googling things
- 8:27Speaker 5: during and the number of times that like information reportage
- 8:32Speaker 5: was coming out of Juicy Scoop was like really exciting
- 8:36Speaker 5: and like finally yesterday I was just like well I have.
- 8:40Speaker 3: To I mean you like Googled articles and it was
- 8:42Speaker 3: like this person came on Juicy Scoop and said this
- 8:45Speaker 3: oh my heart's a flutter that's so nice.
- 8:47Speaker 5: But I was like why am I not listening to
- 8:50Speaker 5: I mean the best thing about being a comedian and
- 8:52Speaker 5: listening to podcasts is that you can call or text
- 8:55Speaker 5: the person on the podcast afterwards to weigh in with
- 8:58Speaker 5: your opinions. And I'm like, why am I not listening
- 8:59Speaker 5: to this? And I'm currently in the middle of just
- 9:01Speaker 5: being in love with Carol Radziwill.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Well, she's a real actual friend of mine, so we'll
- 9:07Speaker 3: get into those questions. First, though, will you just explain
- 9:11Speaker 3: to the people very simply what is... is the writers'
- 9:15Speaker 3: guild strike. I obviously support it, but I think people
- 9:19Speaker 3: have a lot of questions of what it is, and
- 9:21Speaker 3: I just want you to explain what the fight's about.
- 9:24Speaker 5: So every eight years, there's a big contract that says
- 9:27Speaker 5: the minimum things that are going to be provided to
- 9:31Speaker 5: people who write for shows that are covered by this.
- 9:33Speaker 5: So basically anything that's on real TV, sometimes on extended cable, E, covered,
- 9:40Speaker 5: not covered, it depends on the show. But it's things like,
- 9:45Speaker 5: basic pay, and more importantly than anything else, the residuals
- 9:48Speaker 5: that you're going to receive. Because, you know, the writers
- 9:51Speaker 5: on the first couple of seasons of The Simpsons, those
- 9:54Speaker 5: episodes of television have been aired millions of times, and
- 9:57Speaker 5: those people received nothing other than Well.
- 10:00Speaker 3: They don't.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Nothing.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Because at that time, animation wasn't included.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Yes. Right now, only animation on Fox is. is covered
- 10:11Speaker 5: by the Writers Guild. Just about everything else is not.
- 10:13Speaker 3: And also because The Simpsons also predicted everything that's ever
- 10:16Speaker 3: happened in the world.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So they were psychics that were also writers.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Right. And just with the way that the industry has
- 10:24Speaker 5: changed and is changing, it's like when we originally, when
- 10:28Speaker 5: we wrote on E, like something would re-air and then
- 10:31Speaker 5: you would get a little check later on.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Because, you know, After we became Writers Guild.
- 10:36Speaker 5: After we became Writers Guild.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Wait, were you part of it?
- 10:38Speaker 5: No, I was not.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Okay. I've told that story. It was a lot of fun.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Pandera lunches.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:45Speaker 3: We did it. We got it. And then they didn't
- 10:47Speaker 3: honor it when the show ended up early. They did
- 10:49Speaker 3: not honor the six month.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 10:51Speaker 6: No.
- 10:52Speaker 3: They walked in and they said, you can either stay
- 10:55Speaker 3: till August 27th and that'll be your last paycheck, even
- 10:58Speaker 3: though you've been here for seven and a half years.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Or you can leave early and miss out on $ 19, 000.
- 11:02Speaker 3: And I go, what about paying me until the end
- 11:06Speaker 3: of December, which would be the six months? And they said, yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 3: they're not doing it. So what are you going to
- 11:12Speaker 3: do about it? And Jen Kirkman and I, who Jen
- 11:15Speaker 3: is on the front line, she's a writer and showrunner,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and she's written on the fabulous, what is it?
- 11:21Speaker 5: Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Fabulous, marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She and I were both like,
- 11:27Speaker 3: should we do this? And I was like, I don't
- 11:28Speaker 3: know when I'm going to see 19 grand again. So
- 11:31Speaker 3: I'm going to take the next couple of months and
- 11:33Speaker 3: have fun with it. And they were cool about us
- 11:36Speaker 3: leaving on Fridays or whatever, but that was, that was
- 11:39Speaker 3: the deal. So like, I've explained why, like, even though
- 11:42Speaker 3: you have a writer's guild thing, there's a, a Hulu
- 11:45Speaker 3: doc that I have part of that just came out
- 11:47Speaker 3: called the Randall scandal about Randall Emmett.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 3: And, Because I'm good friends, became good friends with both
- 11:52Speaker 3: of them, he and his ex, Lala, from Banner Pump.
- 11:55Speaker 3: They asked me to be part of it. And also,
- 11:57Speaker 3: Lala's featured in that doc coming out as a guest
- 12:01Speaker 3: on Juicy Scoop. And he wrote this show. He got
- 12:08Speaker 3: writers from Writers Guild to write, did the arc of,
- 12:11Speaker 3: you know, seven seasons of a show called Pump. That
- 12:13Speaker 3: was going to be about Arnold Schwarzenegger and his, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 3: rise to bodybuilding in the 70s in Venice. And they...
- 12:21Speaker 3: Did the whole seven seasons of like, this is what
- 12:23Speaker 3: it's going to be. And then for whatever reason, Arnold
- 12:28Speaker 3: was all excited, but then Arnold switched, and you know
- 12:30Speaker 3: how this could be, from one big agency to another
- 12:33Speaker 3: and the whole thing fell apart. And then he's just like, well, sorry,
- 12:36Speaker 3: I'm not paying you the Writers Guild money. So then
- 12:38Speaker 3: Writer's Guild fought him and now there's a judgment and
- 12:42Speaker 3: he's still refusing to pay it. But that's the kind
- 12:45Speaker 3: of shit that happens.
- 12:47Speaker 5: The things that are happening right now is with streaming,
- 12:50Speaker 5: they're not paying us for residuals in the way that
- 12:54Speaker 5: would reflect success or failure. There's this thing called mini rooms,
- 12:58Speaker 5: which is getting people before a show is officially picked
- 13:01Speaker 5: up to write a bunch of episodes.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Which would have been like this pump thing.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 13:06Speaker 5: And then turning around and saying, oops, we're not going
- 13:08Speaker 5: to do that. And then the other big thing is
- 13:10Speaker 5: sort of defining the space that AI can take in
- 13:14Speaker 5: this stuff.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Because, you know, there's going to be a real temptation
- 13:17Speaker 5: when it comes to, like, you know, award show intros
- 13:21Speaker 5: or something like that to just have a computer do
- 13:24Speaker 5: them because it's cheaper than a person. And so that's
- 13:28Speaker 5: why we're on strike.
- 13:30Speaker 3: That's a perfect explanation, and thank you. And we are
- 13:32Speaker 3: 100% behind you, obviously. But in the meantime... We get
- 13:36Speaker 3: to enjoy you here. Real quick before we get into
- 13:39Speaker 3: all the housewife stuff because we have– this is real
- 13:41Speaker 3: housewife history coming later on, but I want to cover
- 13:44Speaker 3: some hot topics. Jeff Bezos is also in love and
- 13:50Speaker 3: engaged to Lauren Sanchez. To give you guys a little history,
- 13:54Speaker 3: Jeff has a small company called Amazon. Lauren– It's a
- 13:59Speaker 3: very pretty girl that was, like, I knew her because
- 14:02Speaker 3: I was friends with Jillian Barbary, who was, you know,
- 14:05Speaker 3: the star of the Morning L.A.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Show.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Then Lauren started to be on it a lot, and
- 14:12Speaker 3: she was a host and this and that.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Jillian, a great broadcaster.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yes, and a great person. So she, Lauren, she was
- 14:21Speaker 3: featured a lot. She was pretty. She was a host
- 14:23Speaker 3: on things. She had... NFL husband she has one child with,
- 14:26Speaker 3: divorced him, then married this, I think it was William
- 14:31Speaker 3: Morris agent. They have two kids that are 15 and 16.
- 14:34Speaker 3: And they were social friends with Jeff and Jeff's wife.
- 14:38Speaker 3: And then they fell in love. Then Jeff gets divorced.
- 14:41Speaker 3: She gets divorced. Now they're together. And now they are engaged.
- 14:47Speaker 5: I want more of my friends to tell me stories
- 14:50Speaker 5: about property settlements from divorces. I love a juicy property settlement.
- 14:54Speaker 5: And it makes me angry that nobody ever has this
- 14:56Speaker 5: information for me. I think this is, like, exciting, and
- 15:00Speaker 5: I think she's smart to get a good, nice, solid prenup.
- 15:04Speaker 5: I think a good, nice, solid prenup with a guy
- 15:06Speaker 5: who's coming into the marriage that rich.
- 15:10Speaker 3: He has, I think he's worth like $ 139 billion.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yes.
- 15:14Speaker 3: And the latest article we read was, how much would
- 15:17Speaker 3: she get in a possible divorce?
- 15:19Speaker 5: $ 38.
- 15:21Speaker 3: They're speculating that if she was to get divorced... Based
- 15:24Speaker 3: on just stock and stuff, she could probably walk away
- 15:27Speaker 3: with $ 38 billion herself.
- 15:29Speaker 5: But I think it's really easy for him to hide
- 15:30Speaker 5: that money on paper. It's really easy for him to
- 15:32Speaker 5: get divorced at a point in time when his paper
- 15:35Speaker 5: value has gone down. So if he's at $ 138 now
- 15:39Speaker 5: and then there comes a point in time when Amazon–
- 15:41Speaker 5: I mean Amazon stock is pretty bad right now. I mean,
- 15:45Speaker 5: she needs to, like, she needs to buy low and
- 15:47Speaker 5: sell high if she's going to try to, you know,
- 15:50Speaker 5: marry Jeff Bezos without a prenup. But I think in
- 15:55Speaker 5: a situation like that where they have access to a
- 15:57Speaker 5: lot of lawyers, going in with nice documents that say
- 16:00Speaker 5: she gets $ 60 million if she leaves, that's safe. I mean,
- 16:04Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I mean, I think that they are in love. Since
- 16:08Speaker 3: they got together, he got, like, on, what's that stuff,
- 16:10Speaker 3: the H? He got on something.
- 16:12Speaker 5: HGH, yeah. Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 3: And that kind of beefed him out.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Made him a little less nerdy. Meanwhile, his wife, who
- 16:18Speaker 3: also walked away with so much money, she married a teacher.
- 16:21Speaker 3: And she ended up divorcing him after two years. So
- 16:25Speaker 3: it's hard to find a good guy.
- 16:26Speaker 5: I mean, but the thing is, is, like, you need
- 16:28Speaker 5: to understand when this is your third, like, bite at
- 16:31Speaker 5: the apple, you're not going to get first wife money.
- 16:34Speaker 5: You know? But listen, like.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I think they are a good couple. I think they're
- 16:40Speaker 3: in love with each other. I love that she's 53.
- 16:43Speaker 3: She's super fit. Has she had some work done yet?
- 16:45Speaker 3: Who the fuck hasn't? Myself included. She's 53. She's got
- 16:49Speaker 3: a good body. And I think they're very happy together.
- 16:52Speaker 3: And Drake goes, why would he get married? And I go,
- 16:55Speaker 3: why not? It's not like even if she took a
- 16:58Speaker 3: chunk of money from him, it would not affect him
- 17:01Speaker 3: taking a private plane, getting on his huge yacht, having
- 17:05Speaker 3: homes everywhere. Like there's not one thing on this earth
- 17:07Speaker 3: that he can't purchase, whether he gets divorced from her
- 17:10Speaker 3: or not. So why not? Make a commitment to someone
- 17:13Speaker 3: that you really are in love with and you enjoy
- 17:15Speaker 3: as you enter your golden years.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Well, also there's just sort of like that social element
- 17:20Speaker 5: that I understand so much better now after eight seasons
- 17:22Speaker 5: of Real Housewives of New York of having that person
- 17:25Speaker 5: and that partner and people knowing who is accompanying you.
- 17:29Speaker 5: I feel like that is really soothing to straight people. Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 3: That's still there for us.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Can we have one thing? No, listen. I just want
- 17:40Speaker 3: to say, she has two kids that are 15 and 16.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I will be curious to see where they end up
- 17:46Speaker 3: in college.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Oh, that's very funny.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Because, I mean, I know, you know, Lori Loughlin got
- 17:52Speaker 3: in trouble. And as my kids, you know, I told
- 17:55Speaker 3: my kids right off the bat, you know, you're not
- 17:58Speaker 3: going to any of the schools that I got into, okay?
- 18:00Speaker 5: Can I tell you a great story?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:03Speaker 5: There was a billionaire finance guy in New York and
- 18:06Speaker 5: they did an article about him like 10 years ago
- 18:09Speaker 5: because he had given essentially, he gave like $ 20 million
- 18:15Speaker 5: to five of the Ivies and MIT to like hedge
- 18:19Speaker 5: his bets on his children.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Yes, and?
- 18:22Speaker 5: And then the daughter who, and then like, oh, and
- 18:26Speaker 5: then at the Mindy Project, we had this intern. We
- 18:30Speaker 5: had never had an intern before, but we had an
- 18:32Speaker 5: intern who, who came and just sat in our offices
- 18:36Speaker 5: for a summer. And then at the end, she gave
- 18:38Speaker 5: Mindy a perfect scale model of Mindy Lahiri's office from
- 18:45Speaker 5: the show.
- 18:45Speaker 3: How cool.
- 18:46Speaker 5: I know. And then left, and we were like, what's
- 18:48Speaker 5: that deal?
- 18:48Speaker 3: Is she an architect?
- 18:50Speaker 5: No, she is this billionaire's daughter.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Okay, so she was just able to get someone to
- 18:53Speaker 3: do that.
- 18:53Speaker 5: And now she writes for The Tonight Show.
- 18:56Speaker 3: That is... Wait, that's literally so funny, because remember in that...
- 19:00Speaker 3: In this show that Mindy was in, the movie that
- 19:04Speaker 3: Mindy was in about writing.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Oh, yes. Late Night? Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Late Night, there was a lot of elements of that,
- 19:10Speaker 3: of like a billionaire connection or whatever.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I love that. That's amazing. Yeah, all I can offer
- 19:18Speaker 3: a school is if you take Brandon, you get a
- 19:20Speaker 3: shout out on Juicy Scoop, and I will tag you
- 19:23Speaker 3: when I visit the school. Do you think that's going
- 19:25Speaker 3: to get him into USC? Yeah.
- 19:27Speaker 5: No, but I think it could, you know, like some
- 19:30Speaker 5: smaller liberal arts colleges might be really into it.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Might get a little excited. Yes. Yeah, Juicy Scoop, Juicy
- 19:36Speaker 3: Scoopers who are on any admissions anywhere, DM me. We
- 19:40Speaker 3: can have a cute lunch every time I visit.
- 19:42Speaker 5: I mean, I would say you could get him into Vassar.
- 19:45Speaker 5: You could get Brandon into Vassar. It's too late for Drake. Oh, no.
- 19:49Speaker 3: He's at ASU. and killing it. Okay.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Just one more thing before we go on.
- 19:53Speaker 3: No, we're still talking about them. Continue. This is them
- 19:55Speaker 3: on their yacht, $ 500 million yacht.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Would you strongly encourage your 15-year-old son to take Jeff's name?
- 20:01Speaker 5: Would you encourage him to be like, oh.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I don't think he can. I think they– the dad
- 20:06Speaker 3: is no schlep.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:08Speaker 3: The dad is a huge partner at William Morris.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:13Speaker 3: And I think that would be awful. But I know
- 20:17Speaker 3: people have done that in the past.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:19Speaker 3: My friend Trace Ellis Ross.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Ross is her mother's name.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Which isn't even her real mother's name.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:29Speaker 3: And she had a lovely Jewish father.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I don't know his last name.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:34Speaker 3: But at a certain point in her 20s, in pursuing Hollywood,
- 20:38Speaker 3: she became Tracee Ellis Ross. Not a bad move.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Not a bad move.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I don't think the dad minded. She always remained a
- 20:45Speaker 3: wonderful relationship with her father as far as when we
- 20:47Speaker 3: were close. So, yeah, whatever works. Do the boys wish
- 20:52Speaker 3: that they were Drake and Brandon McDonald? Drake, do you
- 20:57Speaker 3: wish that I would have made you Drake McDonald instead
- 21:00Speaker 3: of Drake Tobias? I don't think it would have mattered.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think that's a, he says it wouldn't matter. And
- 21:05Speaker 3: I think that's great. You know, like I decided that.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Do you think Drake is more likely to go into
- 21:11Speaker 5: West Valley real estate or celebrity gossip? That's the question.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I think he'll go into finance, but he was recognized
- 21:17Speaker 3: in Westlake the other day at In-N-Out eating with his cousin.
- 21:20Speaker 3: A juicy skipper said, are you? Heather McDonald's son, Drake.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Oh, that's amazing.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Isn't that amazing? Like, I'm not on TV, and just seeing,
- 21:29Speaker 3: just rarely do I even feature him that much. He's
- 21:33Speaker 3: a recognizable kid.
- 21:34Speaker 5: The unfortunate thing that we need to acknowledge for the
- 21:37Speaker 5: WGA strike is TV just doesn't matter as much anymore. Like,
- 21:41Speaker 5: we have good entertainment being made by children at home
- 21:45Speaker 5: with cats. So the whole game is changing. But I
- 21:49Speaker 5: do love, I mean, I love a nice 53-year-old trophy wife.
- 21:54Speaker 3: And she's no dummy. She's a helicopter pilot. She's a journalist. Like, hey,
- 22:01Speaker 3: the relationship did start shady. They were couple friends. It's
- 22:07Speaker 3: a little Vanderpump Rules. She was friendly with his wife,
- 22:10Speaker 3: just like Raquel was friendly with Ariana.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And best friends, but in the end, she was probably,
- 22:17Speaker 3: is doing fine. She fell in love with the teacher,
- 22:19Speaker 3: but then they broke up. But I think they have
- 22:22Speaker 3: every right to be happy, and it seems like the
- 22:23Speaker 3: kids all like each other and all that.
- 22:25Speaker 5: The reason that the Juicy Scoopers keep coming back to
- 22:27Speaker 5: you is that you are, at the end of the day,
- 22:29Speaker 5: a responsible Catholic sorority girl. And does a situation like
- 22:33Speaker 5: this tell you that you do need to have certain
- 22:36Speaker 5: kinds of boundaries with your couple friends? Do you think
- 22:39Speaker 5: that this was a game played poorly or played correctly?
- 22:42Speaker 3: I think she is incredibly good in the sack. And
- 22:48Speaker 3: there are certain women and certain men that that is
- 22:51Speaker 3: one of their talents. Other people are great cooks. Other
- 22:54Speaker 3: people can decorate well. I think that she has gotten
- 22:59Speaker 3: three men to marry her. I think she's pretty on
- 23:03Speaker 3: the eyes, but I also think she's really good at sex.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Some people are really good at it. And other people
- 23:11Speaker 3: are a pillow princess. And that is me.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Well, I mean, the thing is, she's got to be
- 23:16Speaker 5: bringing a lot to the table because if it was
- 23:18Speaker 5: just good pussy, I mean, he's Jeff Bezos. If he
- 23:20Speaker 5: wanted other, better pussy, he could just order it and
- 23:23Speaker 5: it would show up within a day because he's probably
- 23:24Speaker 5: Amazon Prime.
- 23:26Speaker 3: There are men. Yes, I agree. And there are, that's funny,
- 23:30Speaker 3: and there are men that, you know, go for the
- 23:33Speaker 3: younger chick all the time. But I've said this on
- 23:36Speaker 3: my show before, which is really interesting, is that billionaires...
- 23:40Speaker 3: want other billionaires' ex-wives.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Oh, that's interesting.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Housewives.
- 23:45Speaker 5: That's very interesting. Housewives.
- 23:48Speaker 3: David Foster went over to Muhammad Hadid's house and looked
- 23:52Speaker 3: at a photo and said, who is that? And he goes,
- 23:53Speaker 3: that's my ex-wife. And he goes, I would like to
- 23:55Speaker 3: meet her. Do you mind if I meet her? And
- 23:57Speaker 3: Muhammad was like, no problem.
- 23:58Speaker 5: They were so collegial about that. Do you think that's
- 24:00Speaker 5: just because he's like, she knows how to handle herself
- 24:02Speaker 5: in these situations?
- 24:04Speaker 3: I mean, I think age is... Like, listen, if you
- 24:07Speaker 3: look great and you're sexy and stuff, and now you
- 24:09Speaker 3: also have all this stuff in common.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Yeah. Yes.
- 24:11Speaker 3: And you know, and you have the same friends. And
- 24:13Speaker 3: it's also like, this is this, this other guy had
- 24:17Speaker 3: this wonderful wife. Yes. It happens all the time. And
- 24:20Speaker 3: I think too often people think, oh, the guy's just
- 24:22Speaker 3: out to, you know, marry a 20 year old. That
- 24:24Speaker 3: happens too. But it's more likely that if you're a
- 24:27Speaker 3: woman of a certain... Like, don't worry, girls that are
- 24:31Speaker 3: over 40, over 50. Don't think that you can't also
- 24:35Speaker 3: marry up. You absolutely can.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Well, also, guys like Bezos get a thrill off of
- 24:40Speaker 5: business mergers and acquisitions.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Yes.
- 24:42Speaker 5: And when it comes to sex also, he acquires and
- 24:45Speaker 5: then merges, you know?
- 24:46Speaker 3: Yes. So I'm all for it. This is their yacht.
- 24:49Speaker 3: And people said, is this, which is on the yacht,
- 24:52Speaker 3: is that her? It was that made to look like her.
- 24:56Speaker 3: And I think it looks a lot like her. Look
- 24:58Speaker 3: at the lips. it's like a statue, but it has
- 25:01Speaker 3: lip filler and, and it's, it's a little tacky. I
- 25:05Speaker 3: will say it's a little mermaidy, but who cares?
- 25:10Speaker 5: I mean, if it makes them happy.
- 25:12Speaker 3: I, I'm all, I'm all for it. So good luck
- 25:16Speaker 3: to them. Um, One reward.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Endless choice.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Skip the hassle. Reward the easy way.
- 25:45Speaker 4: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 25:48Speaker 4: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 25:51Speaker 4: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 25:56Speaker 4: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 25:58Speaker 6: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 26:02Speaker 6: the Emmys and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 26:05Speaker 5: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 26:07Speaker 5: what would you do if it was given back?
- 26:10Speaker 4: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 26:13Speaker 4: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 26:15Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 26:17Speaker 5: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 26:19Speaker 5: started crying.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 26:24Speaker 4: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 26:27Speaker 4: happens next.
- 26:28Speaker 3: I decided to risk it all.
- 26:29Speaker 5: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work. Listen, Dara,
- 26:33Speaker 5: I'm not going to pull punches.
- 26:35Speaker 3: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 26:37Speaker 4: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 26:51Speaker 3: I also want to mention one thing about you is
- 26:53Speaker 3: that I've talked about, and I know you don't work
- 26:55Speaker 3: on the show anymore, but you did work on the
- 26:57Speaker 3: other two.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:58Speaker 3: On HBO Max, which is the third season.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Yes.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And I have told people to watch it because it
- 27:02Speaker 3: is so, your sense of humor is so fucking funny.
- 27:06Speaker 5: It is very gay. It is very entertainment. It is
- 27:09Speaker 5: very Juicy Scoop.
- 27:11Speaker 3: It is a Juicy Scoop stream of a comedy. Molly Shannon,
- 27:15Speaker 3: it's so funny.
- 27:15Speaker 5: The more important thing is, have you had Matt Rogers
- 27:18Speaker 5: on Juicy Scoop yet?
- 27:20Speaker 3: No.
- 27:20Speaker 5: You guys, I took Heather to see Matt Rogers' Christmas
- 27:23Speaker 5: show a couple of years ago.
- 27:25Speaker 3: We've been trying to make this thing happen.
- 27:26Speaker 5: But, like, so much of the stuff, like, on the
- 27:29Speaker 5: season that Matt and I worked on it, just sort of, like,
- 27:33Speaker 5: the jobs that you have when you're, like, an up-and-coming
- 27:35Speaker 5: gay comic in, you know, like, a weekly internet show
- 27:40Speaker 5: about what Laura Dern's doing or whatever, these were all
- 27:43Speaker 5: taken from, like, jobs that matt had had where it
- 27:46Speaker 5: was just like a bunch of gay guys and a
- 27:48Speaker 5: bunch of women of color eating food and being sassy
- 27:50Speaker 5: to each other about it and it was really ridiculous
- 27:53Speaker 5: and all of it is on the show and i
- 27:54Speaker 5: love it and.
- 27:55Speaker 3: The gay man is his friend yes um okay one
- 27:59Speaker 3: more now speaking of other rich men jeffrey evstein allegedly
- 28:04Speaker 3: i guess well it's not allegedly they have emails threatened
- 28:07Speaker 3: to expose bill gates affair with this russian bridge player
- 28:11Speaker 3: So Bill Gates had an affair. Now, he is also
- 28:15Speaker 3: divorced and his wife also got a ton of money.
- 28:18Speaker 3: And what was weird about when their divorce became public
- 28:23Speaker 3: was that he had a like same time next year
- 28:26Speaker 3: situation with like a colleague first. from his, like, 20s,
- 28:30Speaker 3: and they would go to this, like, summer house, and
- 28:34Speaker 3: he would spend a month with her every summer while
- 28:37Speaker 3: they were having kids and raising kids, and the wife was, like,
- 28:40Speaker 3: fine with that.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I love when people have an arrangement. I love what
- 28:43Speaker 5: Bill Gates' version of a slut is. Like, Bill Gates'
- 28:46Speaker 5: version of sort of, like, bring me the hottest, most
- 28:49Speaker 5: athletic woman imaginable is a Russian professional bridge player is
- 28:54Speaker 5: so funny, and also I just, like, I know what
- 28:58Speaker 5: Jeffrey Epstein did was reprehensible. God, he was good at it.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Well, I always said that I believe he acquired the
- 29:09Speaker 3: majority of his billions or millions or whatever just through
- 29:13Speaker 3: simple blackmail. I think he invited people to these parties
- 29:17Speaker 3: and then they'd have these wild parties. And I even
- 29:19Speaker 3: think a lot of these men... And this is just
- 29:22Speaker 3: my opinion. Innocently, maybe engaged with a blowjob or whatever,
- 29:27Speaker 3: thinking the girl was young and hot, but thinking. And
- 29:30Speaker 3: then the next morning was like, here's your coffee. And
- 29:31Speaker 3: by the way, the girl that gave you a blowjob
- 29:33Speaker 3: last night was 17 years old. And here's a video
- 29:35Speaker 3: of it. Now give me $ 5 million.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Okay.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Now donate to my charity.
- 29:40Speaker 5: You know the origin story of his money with the
- 29:42Speaker 5: guy from The Limited, don't you?
- 29:44Speaker 3: Explain to the people at home.
- 29:45Speaker 5: So the man who owns The Limited is like an
- 29:48Speaker 5: older married guy in Ohio. And when Jeffrey Epstein was
- 29:54Speaker 5: like young and kind of hot, he showed up and
- 29:56Speaker 5: worked with him. And basically... The assumption is that to
- 30:00Speaker 5: manage his money... They were a couple. Yes, that Jeffrey
- 30:02Speaker 5: Epstein had sex with him in exchange for being able
- 30:05Speaker 5: to steal millions of dollars from him and just sort
- 30:08Speaker 5: of relocate it. And the guy, not wanting to say, oh,
- 30:11Speaker 5: this guy I've been having sex with stole from me,
- 30:15Speaker 5: just let it happen. And that his original damage was
- 30:19Speaker 5: sex for money makes me understand... why he then turned
- 30:22Speaker 5: and became so exploitative in so many ways. Right. But, like,
- 30:25Speaker 5: the story that Carol told on your interview.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Carol Radswell, yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 5: Of, like, talking to Ghislaine and then a day later, like,
- 30:34Speaker 5: Prince Andrew is calling her. It's just, like, it makes
- 30:37Speaker 5: you understand the process so much better of, like, at
- 30:39Speaker 5: no point in time did Carol Radswell, a, like, capable
- 30:43Speaker 5: professional woman say, I would love to be trafficked. But
- 30:46Speaker 5: then Ghislaine was just sort of like.
- 30:48Speaker 3: You should go on a date with Prince Andrew when
- 30:50Speaker 3: you're out there.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Yes, I've got a hot professional girl who, you know,
- 30:54Speaker 5: I mean, an adult woman, but like.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Well, she was just widowed, Carol. Yes.
- 30:58Speaker 5: But also, legally a princess, why don't I offer her
- 31:02Speaker 5: to Prince Andrew? And it's just like, God.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. And it wasn't all.
- 31:09Speaker 3: You know, girls who were not 18 yet and under,
- 31:12Speaker 3: it was all. So this girl, this bridge girl, she
- 31:15Speaker 3: looks really young in the photos, but I looked it up.
- 31:16Speaker 3: And at the time she was like 30 when she
- 31:19Speaker 3: was dating Bill Gates. But so he knew about this
- 31:24Speaker 3: situation and this girl had gone to Jeffrey Epstein and
- 31:27Speaker 3: asked for him to like finance her education and also
- 31:30Speaker 3: this bridge school. And so then he was like, I'm
- 31:34Speaker 3: going to expose this affair unless you pay me back
- 31:36Speaker 3: the money I gave to her. And so it was like, yeah,
- 31:41Speaker 3: this was just one of many things. But technically Bill
- 31:43Speaker 3: Gates in this scenario did nothing wrong but cheat on
- 31:46Speaker 3: his wife who he's now divorced from.
- 31:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 5: And also like, you know, the larger moral wrongness of
- 31:53Speaker 5: that to anyone other than your wife is like always
- 31:56Speaker 5: a big question. Yeah. I'm just like Jeffrey Epstein, what
- 32:00Speaker 5: a businessman. You know, like, he was always finding answers.
- 32:04Speaker 5: But also, I would truly love to see what Bill
- 32:07Speaker 5: Gates' porn looks like. You know, how many, you know.
- 32:11Speaker 3: A bridge player.
- 32:12Speaker 5: Statisticians fingering professional chess players. Who knows?
- 32:18Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Okay. So, now let's get into the
- 32:21Speaker 3: real Housewives history.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Yes.
- 32:23Speaker 3: So, you gave me a couple things you wanted to
- 32:25Speaker 3: talk about. We grabbed some photos. This is season three,
- 32:30Speaker 3: which was. Luanne, Jelzarin, Bethany, Kelly Bessebode, Ramona, and Alex McCord.
- 32:42Speaker 5: So, tell me. Does any part of you miss Alex
- 32:47Speaker 5: and Simon? They were just such a weird flavor in
- 32:49Speaker 5: those first four seasons.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Absolutely amazing. The fact that they are still striving. Yes.
- 32:55Speaker 3: The boys are like my boys' age.
- 32:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 32:57Speaker 3: She is on, what is she on? She, did we
- 33:02Speaker 3: see her in a, no, she's in a upcoming, she's
- 33:07Speaker 3: in the next Ultimate Girls trip.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yes. The one where Brandy supposedly makes out and grabs
- 33:15Speaker 3: Carol Manzo's breasts. Oh. And vagina. She is in that
- 33:20Speaker 3: season that's coming up.
- 33:22Speaker 5: If there was anything that weirded me out about that
- 33:26Speaker 5: season that Denise, not Denise, who was the Denise on
- 33:30Speaker 5: Beverly Hills?
- 33:31Speaker 3: Denise Richards.
- 33:33Speaker 5: They bi-shamed Brandy and her so hard. I was like,
- 33:38Speaker 5: how can the central scandal of this season be the
- 33:40Speaker 5: possibility that some of these women have had sex with
- 33:43Speaker 5: each other? Everybody grow up and get a little bit cooler.
- 33:46Speaker 5: Though I hate Brandy, let's be clear.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Well, I mean, that we can get in. Let's get
- 33:51Speaker 3: into Beverly Hills after. Let's just finish. Let's stay on this.
- 33:55Speaker 3: What do you want to ask me about what struck
- 33:57Speaker 3: you about watching this? This was the season that Jill
- 34:00Speaker 3: and Bethany's friendship ended. Right.
- 34:03Speaker 5: I mean, to me, it is the bridge between this
- 34:05Speaker 5: season and what happened here because I was like, it
- 34:08Speaker 5: really was, to me, it seemed like Jill kind of
- 34:13Speaker 5: learning how the show was working. By this point in time,
- 34:18Speaker 5: Jill is producing for herself, she's making things happen. She
- 34:22Speaker 5: also really seems like the first person in New York
- 34:24Speaker 5: to start to understand the game of playing outside press,
- 34:28Speaker 5: and she gets a lot of flack for that. But
- 34:33Speaker 5: more than anything, I watched it and I was like, oh,
- 34:36Speaker 5: Jill overplayed her hand, I wonder how she feels about
- 34:40Speaker 5: it now. Well, and it also makes me think about
- 34:44Speaker 5: the way that, like, at Chelsea lately, when things, when
- 34:47Speaker 5: success was starting to happen and we were all so
- 34:48Speaker 5: happy and we were all in it together, but also
- 34:50Speaker 5: you're constantly jealous of other people and what they're getting.
- 34:53Speaker 5: And that energy between Jill and Bethany and Jill sort
- 34:58Speaker 5: of being mad that she wasn't the 37-year-old and that
- 35:02Speaker 5: she wasn't getting to do the Today Show and all
- 35:03Speaker 5: of that. But then when Bethany comes back, I'm sorry,
- 35:06Speaker 5: when Bethany comes back, I'm just like, the thing she
- 35:10Speaker 5: needs right now is a Jill Zarin. And the more
- 35:13Speaker 5: that I see Bethany in seasons 7 to 11, the
- 35:16Speaker 5: more I am like, is this person capable of having
- 35:20Speaker 5: a friend?
- 35:21Speaker 3: All of this is amazing.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Okay.
- 35:23Speaker 3: So you've said a lot, and I have to just interrupt.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, absolutely.
- 35:27Speaker 3: People always say, let your guests talk, Heather. I see
- 35:29Speaker 3: the comments, okay? But first of all, yes, because of
- 35:33Speaker 3: our experience at Chelsea lately where we were– you know,
- 35:37Speaker 3: all on the show and we had, you know, movie
- 35:39Speaker 3: deals and a pilot here and a pilot there, but
- 35:42Speaker 3: we wanted to be featured on the round table. One
- 35:45Speaker 3: of my biggest regrets of that time is that I
- 35:48Speaker 3: did let jealousy affect me a little bit. And thank
- 35:51Speaker 3: God I remained friends with everybody. But even with a
- 35:55Speaker 3: Sarah Colonna, like, She had a book come out and
- 35:57Speaker 3: her book did better than mine. And I was like,
- 35:59Speaker 3: happy for her. She's crying. I'm number five. And I'm like, Heather,
- 36:02Speaker 3: be happier for Sarah. Like it was, I could honestly,
- 36:06Speaker 3: and I can say that as a woman my age,
- 36:08Speaker 3: that's completely fine now with all my friends beyond succeeding
- 36:12Speaker 3: me in every way. Like I don't care, but it
- 36:14Speaker 3: takes a long time to get there. And when you're
- 36:17Speaker 3: in this thing where you think that the one chance
- 36:20Speaker 3: you're going to make it in Hollywood is that if
- 36:21Speaker 3: your pilot that you know, that with the Chelsea Lately
- 36:25Speaker 3: handle gets taken. That's when I get to be the
- 36:28Speaker 3: mom in a sitcom. Podcast didn't even exist back then.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I really thought this was my chance. I'm getting close
- 36:34Speaker 3: to 40. Like if this doesn't go, whose turn is
- 36:37Speaker 3: it next? Who's the baton going to be tossed to?
- 36:42Speaker 3: So we had all that, which is still the funnest
- 36:46Speaker 3: time of my life. But I look back and I'm like,
- 36:48Speaker 3: it could have been even more fun and it could
- 36:50Speaker 3: have even been more supportive. And I wonder if they
- 36:54Speaker 3: look– I know Jill does. I know because I've had
- 36:56Speaker 3: so many conversations with her about exactly what you said.
- 37:00Speaker 3: She thought– she said this over and over. I thought
- 37:03Speaker 3: we'd fight. We'd have this moment on TV and then
- 37:06Speaker 3: we would make up. And Bethany was no longer willing
- 37:11Speaker 3: to make up. But also Bethany was getting her own
- 37:13Speaker 3: spinoff show to have her baby and then had a
- 37:16Speaker 3: talk show.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Well, I mean, it's like, it's so weird to me
- 37:19Speaker 5: that Ramona was able to say perfectly sincerely to Bethany,
- 37:23Speaker 5: you're an underdog. Like, you, I mean, when she says
- 37:27Speaker 5: that on the Brooklyn Bridge about how she'll probably fuck
- 37:29Speaker 5: it up with Jason, it's hilarious. Yeah. But like, they
- 37:33Speaker 5: were able to be like, oh, well, she's the one
- 37:34Speaker 5: who doesn't have a husband. She's the one who lives
- 37:37Speaker 5: in an apartment. And that Bethany was able to seize
- 37:41Speaker 5: so much power and success, but that it, it isn't
- 37:48Speaker 5: that she's not able to come back with grace.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Makes me feel really, really sad.
- 37:53Speaker 3: You know, it was, I mean, Bethany was always really
- 37:56Speaker 3: fun and everything and they did have a great friendship.
- 37:59Speaker 3: And also what you said is true. When, so they
- 38:01Speaker 3: were the first, they came on the show. Chelsea came
- 38:04Speaker 3: to me and said, you watch this stupid housewives.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 38:09Speaker 3: What two women would you have on the show? And
- 38:12Speaker 3: I said, Luann, I think I said Luann and Ramona
- 38:15Speaker 3: are really funny is what I said.
- 38:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:17Speaker 3: And then she goes, well, Jill and Bethany are requesting
- 38:20Speaker 3: to come on. I go, oh, that's even better. Go
- 38:22Speaker 3: for them.
- 38:23Speaker 5: I mean, because Bethany and Jill have control of the
- 38:25Speaker 5: way that they are funny, you know?
- 38:27Speaker 3: They come on. They come on. They have a fun time.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I make friends with both of them. Bethany remembers me
- 38:33Speaker 3: from Groundlings.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Oh, that's amazing.
- 38:35Speaker 3: And I found her number the weekend before in a
- 38:38Speaker 3: book that's like this Bethany, met her at Rebecca's, wants
- 38:41Speaker 3: to come to a stand-up show because I used to
- 38:42Speaker 3: call people to come. And I'm like, is this your
- 38:45Speaker 3: 310 number? And she's like, holy fuck, I knew I
- 38:47Speaker 3: knew you from somewhere. So I think we're both doing great.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I come out to New York to pitch my book idea.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I write them both together. And it's like, it's weird.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Like then they're not writing me on the group together.
- 39:02Speaker 3: And Jill's like, absolutely, let's get together. And then Bethany's
- 39:06Speaker 3: person is like, she writes with a person on there,
- 39:09Speaker 3: can I do this? And the girl's like, no, you're busy.
- 39:11Speaker 3: And then, but if you'd like to have Bethany on
- 39:14Speaker 3: Zoom on Chelsea, which it wasn't Zoom at the time, Skype,
- 39:17Speaker 3: she's doing this other girl's talk show, The Blonde Woman.
- 39:22Speaker 5: God, she wrote, anyway, she- Jenny McCarthy?
- 39:25Speaker 3: No, she had this other talk show that she's like, anyway,
- 39:28Speaker 3: no one remembers the talk show, but she's a great writer. Anyway,
- 39:31Speaker 3: she had a talk show that she was always having
- 39:33Speaker 3: Bethany on. And then that's when I get with Jill
- 39:36Speaker 3: and Jill's like, you're going to see this season. We
- 39:39Speaker 3: completely break up. We're not friends anymore. And then Jill's like,
- 39:42Speaker 3: and then I go to surprise the girls and On
- 39:45Speaker 3: this vacation with Bobby Zarin. And I go, surprise. And
- 39:48Speaker 3: they were so awful. You have no idea how horrible
- 39:51Speaker 3: they were. She's telling me all this. And I'm sitting outside.
- 39:54Speaker 5: That's so funny.
- 39:55Speaker 3: I'm in this hotel room going. And then Jill's like,
- 39:57Speaker 3: but you know, we could talk like this. Because it's like,
- 40:00Speaker 3: we have that thing. I'm Jewish or Catholic, but very
- 40:03Speaker 3: much alike. And we're real friends. And I remember she goes,
- 40:05Speaker 3: we're real friends. Jill, and we have remained real friends
- 40:09Speaker 3: all these years. But I think in Bethany's defense... Bethany
- 40:15Speaker 3: was getting these other opportunities and Jill was like, why
- 40:19Speaker 3: when we talked at coffee at nine, did you not
- 40:22Speaker 3: tell me that you were going over to do this
- 40:24Speaker 3: talk show? Because I turned on the TV at 11
- 40:26Speaker 3: and you were there. And Bethany was like thinking, because
- 40:30Speaker 3: if I told you, you'd want me to include you.
- 40:32Speaker 3: And we're not in a girl band.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Like I have my own aspirations. So I definitely... understood
- 40:37Speaker 3: bethany's position.
- 40:39Speaker 5: No like those sentiments and energies between them reminded me
- 40:42Speaker 5: of so much in my own life yes and it
- 40:44Speaker 5: made me so sad like for for both of them
- 40:48Speaker 5: but also it really made me love you know made
- 40:51Speaker 5: me love them and yeah um like jill was such
- 40:55Speaker 5: a great energy and i i do wonder what subsequent
- 40:59Speaker 5: seasons would have been like if you had had her
- 41:02Speaker 5: there And, like, Dorinda kind of comes in and is
- 41:06Speaker 5: sort of, like, that, like, sensible mom energy.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:11Speaker 5: But I also understand the thing, like, as a, like,
- 41:15Speaker 5: fat older gay guy, I do understand the thing of, like,
- 41:18Speaker 5: looking down at the younger one who gets to be
- 41:20Speaker 5: more glamorous and being like, oh, it's sad that that's
- 41:23Speaker 5: not me. You know? And, like, I get Jill's, you know.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Jill was always just like, I didn't want the talk show. Yeah.
- 41:29Speaker 3: But would I like to have shown up once in
- 41:31Speaker 3: a while and been on her talk show and had
- 41:33Speaker 3: a segment? I thought that's what would be because she
- 41:36Speaker 3: got her on the show and because Bobby put food
- 41:40Speaker 3: in your mouth.
- 41:41Speaker 5: Also, at the same time, a really interesting mistake. Thinking
- 41:46Speaker 5: that a daytime talk show was the right answer for
- 41:48Speaker 5: Bethany was so interestingly wrong. Because there is a level
- 41:53Speaker 5: of relatability that is required to do that. Kelly Clarkson
- 41:57Speaker 5: can go out on that stage every day, and every
- 42:00Speaker 5: woman in America can look at her and be like,
- 42:02Speaker 5: we would be friends. She could come over to my house.
- 42:05Speaker 5: She would enjoy the casserole that I made and all
- 42:06Speaker 5: of that.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Totally.
- 42:07Speaker 5: That's not Bethany. Bethany's so funny. Bethany is so good
- 42:11Speaker 5: with jokes. She's able to skew them perfectly. Sometimes Jill
- 42:15Speaker 5: would try to, in seasons three and four, try to
- 42:17Speaker 5: joke in the same way, and it would be a
- 42:19Speaker 5: little harsh, and it would feel, and Bethany, it's so good.
- 42:22Speaker 5: When Bethany comes back, And she doesn't want to be
- 42:24Speaker 5: friends with anyone. And she's also making these very mean jokes.
- 42:28Speaker 5: It's like, this doesn't feel nice.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Right, exactly. And then she's also crying victim.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Yes, I mean, ugh.
- 42:34Speaker 3: But I will say, so I was on her show
- 42:37Speaker 3: once or twice, I want to say, of the Bethany
- 42:40Speaker 3: Talk Show. And I remember sitting there. There was like
- 42:42Speaker 3: a panel, something. And the topic was when you receive
- 42:46Speaker 3: a gift from your man and you don't like it.
- 42:49Speaker 3: And Bethany goes off on, you know what it's like.
- 42:52Speaker 3: You see the little Tiffany's blue box and it's not
- 42:55Speaker 3: the shape of the diamond that you want. And she's
- 42:57Speaker 3: literally talking and she's not talking engagement ring. She's talking
- 42:59Speaker 3: like she was talking about the Tiffany blue box. And
- 43:02Speaker 3: I'm like, I, I've never received a Tiffany blue box.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Like what? And I'm looking at this audience and that's
- 43:10Speaker 3: what I'm like the show. I remember thinking in my head,
- 43:12Speaker 3: the show is not going to last. This is not relatable.
- 43:17Speaker 3: She was wealthy her whole life, private schools, all this.
- 43:20Speaker 3: She wants to cry, broken home, and narcissistic mom. I'm
- 43:24Speaker 3: not debating that, but she's a girl of privilege her
- 43:27Speaker 3: whole life. Did she have to work and babysit parents? Yeah,
- 43:31Speaker 3: but she still was never going to be homeless. And
- 43:34Speaker 3: then she dated rich guy after rich guy after rich guy,
- 43:37Speaker 3: and then she became rich on her own. And it's just... Stop.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Now she's doing middle class cosplay. She's going to Olive
- 43:45Speaker 3: Gardens and testing and talking about, oh my God, this
- 43:47Speaker 3: fucking bread. Are you kidding me? Just stop. Stop.
- 43:51Speaker 5: It's so sad because she really is so good at
- 43:54Speaker 5: so many things. She is so talented. And at the
- 43:56Speaker 5: end of the day, I do have sympathy for her
- 43:58Speaker 5: because we have both seen in our lives people who
- 44:03Speaker 5: can't hold down a relationship, like just even a friendship.
- 44:07Speaker 5: And I think that she wants so much Like, especially
- 44:10Speaker 5: with Jill. Like, after I learned about her relationship with
- 44:14Speaker 5: her mom and both of her dads, I was like, oh,
- 44:17Speaker 5: she wanted Jill to be all the mother that she
- 44:20Speaker 5: never had.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Or big sister or whatever. Right. And, like, nobody can
- 44:25Speaker 5: give you that. And Jill being a little bit small
- 44:29Speaker 5: in the way that all of us have been small.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:31Speaker 5: It turned into a blow up. But, like, truly, I
- 44:34Speaker 5: haven't gotten to her fight with Carol, but I have
- 44:36Speaker 5: read extensively about her fight with Carol. And it just...
- 44:39Speaker 5: again seems like oh.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Let's talk about the fight with Carol the fight with
- 44:44Speaker 3: Carol is amazing because Carol really got screwed over.
- 44:51Speaker 5: She spent four and a half seasons I mean the
- 44:53Speaker 5: thing is that Andy wanted somebody he was referred to
- 44:56Speaker 5: Bethany as the narrator of the first three seasons and
- 44:59Speaker 5: he wanted somebody to come in and be narrator and
- 45:02Speaker 5: Carol was so good and I think Carol's fundamental flaw
- 45:05Speaker 5: as a housewife is she thought you could be a
- 45:07Speaker 5: housewife without crying She thought she could cry once when
- 45:10Speaker 5: she went and got Anthony's ashes. But, like, other than
- 45:15Speaker 5: that was being fun and breezy and didn't understand that
- 45:18Speaker 5: you have to, like, leave chunks of your soul on
- 45:20Speaker 5: the table the way that Ramona can every fucking season.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Well, also, Carol is, I believe, the only housewife in history,
- 45:27Speaker 3: and I've said this to her, that because she came
- 45:30Speaker 3: with no family or husband, she was the luckiest.
- 45:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Because she had nothing to break. Nothing was broken. She
- 45:37Speaker 3: didn't get divorced.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Her kid doesn't, you know, hate her. You know, like,
- 45:42Speaker 3: everybody else, someone in their family suffers collateral damage because
- 45:47Speaker 3: the woman decides to go on the show. Because she
- 45:49Speaker 3: was a single woman and a widow, like, she, you know,
- 45:53Speaker 3: could have fun. It was great. And so she became
- 45:56Speaker 3: really close to Bethany. And then what happened there is
- 45:59Speaker 3: that Bethany... wanted now Carol's really great connections in Hollywood.
- 46:06Speaker 3: And there was a time where she.
- 46:07Speaker 5: Oh, it's about the outfits. Yeah.
- 46:09Speaker 3: The outfits, but also Carol was staying with some very
- 46:13Speaker 3: well-connected Hollywood executive's wife or widow or something. And Bethany...
- 46:20Speaker 3: was visiting LA and there was something in which Carol
- 46:24Speaker 3: was responding to Bethany, but she never said, Hey, come
- 46:27Speaker 3: over to this powerful person's house, hang out all day,
- 46:30Speaker 3: exchange numbers, poach the friendship, get a TV deal because
- 46:34Speaker 3: Carol didn't do that. And in Carol's defense, she was like,
- 46:37Speaker 3: literally my friend was mourning the loss of her husband.
- 46:40Speaker 3: So I didn't include Bethany, Bethany, took that as, you're
- 46:45Speaker 3: blowing me off, you're abandoning me, you're not sharing your
- 46:48Speaker 3: contacts with me, I'm going to destroy you. And then
- 46:51Speaker 3: for the next season, Carol was like, why are you
- 46:54Speaker 3: mad at, like Carol the whole time, the Columbia and everything.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Carol was like, what is happening? I'm so confused. Why
- 47:01Speaker 3: is she crying in a corner? Why is she making
- 47:03Speaker 3: fun of the fact that I got a stylist and
- 47:05Speaker 3: I got a new haircut? What the fuck is this?
- 47:08Speaker 3: Then they go to the reunion and one of my
- 47:11Speaker 3: favorite parts is that she's, this is one they each,
- 47:14Speaker 3: this is one they used to have blogs.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 47:16Speaker 3: And all the women hated writing the blogs. What's nice
- 47:18Speaker 3: now is bring back the blogs, AI could write them
- 47:20Speaker 3: for you. But they hated writing the blogs, but they
- 47:22Speaker 3: had to write the blogs. And so then, instead, they
- 47:25Speaker 3: would go back then and be like, you said in
- 47:26Speaker 3: your blog, you said in your blog, and they would
- 47:29Speaker 3: rehash that at the reunion. And in the blog, she said,
- 47:33Speaker 3: she was ripping on Carol, saying like, you're you're old
- 47:37Speaker 3: and you have no job or no career and then
- 47:40Speaker 3: i remember carol's like really bethany yeah we're age shaming
- 47:43Speaker 3: now this is ageism and what do you mean i
- 47:45Speaker 3: don't have a job we have the same job we're
- 47:49Speaker 3: on this show together like why do you think you're
- 47:53Speaker 3: better than i am this is a full-time gig i.
- 47:55Speaker 5: Mean but the whole time bethany's back she's constantly pulling
- 47:59Speaker 5: rank She's constantly trying to say she's better than the show. Like,
- 48:02Speaker 5: she's always in a situation where she won't hang out
- 48:04Speaker 5: with any, like, half of the housewives. And it just, like,
- 48:08Speaker 5: we get it. You had your own show for three seasons.
- 48:11Speaker 5: The fucking scenes where they are backdoor piloting Bethany and
- 48:15Speaker 5: Frederick are insufferable. Do you remember that she and.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Frederick, the realtor, had a show.
- 48:23Speaker 5: Yes. And I didn't realize that. And I was like,
- 48:25Speaker 5: why are these fucking boring seasons in here?
- 48:29Speaker 3: Oh, because they were trying to do the spinoff, which
- 48:32Speaker 3: lasted one season.
- 48:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 48:33Speaker 3: And my intel was that Frederick was like, I will
- 48:37Speaker 3: never work with this woman because my real money is
- 48:40Speaker 3: being this high-end realtor, and she's calling me a snake's...
- 48:45Speaker 3: We had an oil salesman and a steak and all
- 48:47Speaker 3: this other stuff over some real estate deal for drama.
- 48:50Speaker 3: And he doesn't– he's like, you're defaming me, like, on
- 48:53Speaker 3: this show. Like, I need to get out. Okay.
- 48:55Speaker 5: So the first thing that makes me happy is that
- 48:57Speaker 5: you are actual friends with Carol. Because my fear– because
- 49:01Speaker 5: they called her boring a couple of times. And I
- 49:03Speaker 5: was like, would she be low energy? But she just seems, like,
- 49:07Speaker 5: so smart and funny and, like, just sort of, you know,
- 49:10Speaker 5: who– who I would be if I were a housewife.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Maybe I would be more dramatic. But I have a
- 49:16Speaker 5: question for you. I was reading that possibly Luanne and
- 49:21Speaker 5: that possibly Aviva got paid by the scene and that
- 49:25Speaker 5: that was why, particularly with Aviva, that was a motivating
- 49:29Speaker 5: factor for why she behaved like she did. And Bethany
- 49:32Speaker 5: just did an Instagram live where, or an Instagram reel
- 49:37Speaker 5: where she talked about payment and she said that some
- 49:39Speaker 5: of the housewives are paid by the scene. Do you
- 49:41Speaker 5: know anything about that?
- 49:41Speaker 3: Yes, there was one season where Luann was demoted to
- 49:44Speaker 3: a friend.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 49:46Speaker 3: And instead, a lot of times when that's happened, it
- 49:48Speaker 3: supposedly happened with Heather Dubrow. Heather Dubrow said, I'm out.
- 49:52Speaker 3: And that's when she left Real Housewives for a few years.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Now she's back. Luann was smart enough to say, okay, fine.
- 49:58Speaker 3: They're like, you're going to be paid by the scene. Well,
- 50:00Speaker 3: Luann had such an interesting life that she actually, the
- 50:04Speaker 3: legend has it, she made more because they wanted to
- 50:07Speaker 3: use her so much more. And then the next year
- 50:09Speaker 3: she was back holding the apple. But with Aviva, sometimes,
- 50:13Speaker 3: I don't know, because sometimes when you're new, they're like,
- 50:15Speaker 3: we're going to just test you out. And you're not
- 50:18Speaker 3: going to hold the apple, so it might be by
- 50:20Speaker 3: the scene. I think that it's different with everybody.
- 50:22Speaker 5: Aviva thinking she could be a housewife and not go
- 50:24Speaker 5: on girls trips is offensive to me. Like, it was
- 50:28Speaker 5: just ridiculous.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Didn't she have an allergy or something or a lung problem?
- 50:32Speaker 5: I mean, first she had phobias and then she had asthma.
- 50:36Speaker 5: She had moderate to severe asthma. Yeah.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Anyway, this was all amazing. Before I go to Beverly Hills,
- 50:43Speaker 3: ask me any questions you have.
- 50:45Speaker 5: All right, so my first question is just like, who
- 50:49Speaker 5: do you think is most capable of the job? Do
- 50:54Speaker 5: you think Sonia treating it entirely as comedy is like,
- 51:00Speaker 5: I mean, Bethany leveraged it really well, but I feel
- 51:03Speaker 5: like Sonia's maybe giving us better entertainment in a way
- 51:07Speaker 5: that is long-lasting. Luann is always on a roller coaster
- 51:11Speaker 5: and it keeps her close to the center at all times.
- 51:14Speaker 5: Which of these bitches is best at the job?
- 51:17Speaker 3: I actually think Luann is best at the job. She's
- 51:21Speaker 3: had stuff happen in her life. She's been honest about it.
- 51:25Speaker 3: She's great just being herself. She has great iconic lines.
- 51:30Speaker 3: I mean, so many iconic lines.
- 51:32Speaker 5: Just be cool.
- 51:33Speaker 3: And even though she had an alcohol issue, because I
- 51:36Speaker 3: don't even still know if I really believe she's a
- 51:38Speaker 3: full-blown alcoholic, but she definitely had troublesome times with alcohol.
- 51:42Speaker 3: You didn't really see it on the show in a
- 51:43Speaker 3: sloppy way like Sonya. And so much of Sonya's moments
- 51:47Speaker 3: were just being wasted. And I kind of feel like
- 51:50Speaker 3: that's not really giving talent, just being a sloppy drunk.
- 51:54Speaker 5: Yes.
- 51:54Speaker 3: But I do think Sonya... is not a mean or
- 51:57Speaker 3: manipulative person, which makes her forever lovable.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Do you hold it against Sonya that she calls herself
- 52:02Speaker 5: a comedian?
- 52:03Speaker 3: No, I'm okay with all of it. I'm okay with
- 52:07Speaker 3: all of it. She called herself a gay icon, a comedian,
- 52:10Speaker 3: a cabaret singer.
- 52:11Speaker 5: Also, there's one moment in season eight where she clearly
- 52:14Speaker 5: refers to her assistant as the house gay, and they
- 52:17Speaker 5: subtitle it the house guy. And I'm like, no one
- 52:21Speaker 5: believes that. All right, talk me through... Luann marrying Tom D'Agostino.
- 52:28Speaker 5: Why on earth, especially if you're going to fucking lose
- 52:31Speaker 5: the title? And I kind of, if I ever met Luann,
- 52:36Speaker 5: want to be a bitch to her about how she
- 52:38Speaker 5: does not have the title anymore because she married Tom.
- 52:41Speaker 5: But it's just like, part of it is just like.
- 52:43Speaker 3: She has a title just like Queen Latifah has the title.
- 52:45Speaker 3: That's what she said. Still Countess Luann.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Countess Luann. I would be a bitch to her. I
- 52:51Speaker 5: would be like, oh... I'm sorry, I.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Thought you were married. Darling, I'll tell you why I
- 52:55Speaker 3: married Tom. I loved being a wife to the count.
- 52:59Speaker 3: I love cooking. I love caring. I was a nurse.
- 53:04Speaker 3: And I met Tom and it was a whirlwind romance.
- 53:08Speaker 3: And I thought we were going to have this fabulous
- 53:10Speaker 3: life together. And I was very happy to start that
- 53:14Speaker 3: chapter of my life.
- 53:15Speaker 5: I think that Luann is the best written comic character
- 53:19Speaker 5: on the show. So this is me agreeing with you.
- 53:22Speaker 5: Just that, like, if you were writing a script, the
- 53:24Speaker 5: whole notion of she's a fancy countess who cares about etiquette,
- 53:29Speaker 5: and also, like, the biggest whore who will throw it
- 53:33Speaker 5: all aside if a pretty man walks in front of her.
- 53:36Speaker 3: It's... Yeah, she's horny, and I think.
- 53:39Speaker 5: I love her so much.
- 53:40Speaker 3: And I also.
- 53:40Speaker 5: I hate her so much.
- 53:42Speaker 3: I think that what I remember she revealed to me, like,
- 53:46Speaker 3: in a conversation is that she... I think she would
- 53:52Speaker 3: have put up with an open marriage had he not
- 53:57Speaker 3: fallen in love and asked to leave.
- 54:00Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't know that. I'm not there yet.
- 54:02Speaker 3: I mean, well, he ends up being with this woman,
- 54:05Speaker 3: this Ethiopian woman, and then they get divorced. And I
- 54:09Speaker 3: remember Bethany being like, you know they have an open marriage, whatever.
- 54:13Speaker 3: I don't know about an open marriage. Huh?
- 54:16Speaker 5: Is she an Ethiopian princess?
- 54:17Speaker 3: I don't know if she... She was some, some regal thing,
- 54:21Speaker 3: but like, you know, and, and they've, they've continued the
- 54:25Speaker 3: last few years to have a really nice relationship. And
- 54:28Speaker 3: I said, do you ever think you'll get back with
- 54:30Speaker 3: the count? And she's like, the thing is, I, I like,
- 54:34Speaker 3: I wish, I wish we could have worked it out.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Like she wouldn't have left him over stepping out of
- 54:41Speaker 3: the marriage.
- 54:41Speaker 5: Like, Oh, the count left her for the Ethiopian woman.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Yes, yes. And so then it's like she really didn't
- 54:47Speaker 3: have a choice. Like, then she was just like, okay,
- 54:49Speaker 3: but she does like being married in a relationship. I
- 54:52Speaker 3: think the last few years she's also enjoyed being on
- 54:54Speaker 3: the road, doing her cabaret, and having many lovers and, like,
- 55:00Speaker 3: leaning into that life, which I also think is great. But, like,
- 55:03Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised if in the end, like, ten
- 55:06Speaker 3: years from now, the kid's Their grandparents and she and
- 55:10Speaker 3: the count are like hanging out together babysitting their grandkids.
- 55:14Speaker 3: I would not be surprised.
- 55:15Speaker 5: That's very cute. The thing that is most interesting to
- 55:17Speaker 5: me about her just comes down to the phone call on,
- 55:23Speaker 5: I want to say it was St. Bart's.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Yes.
- 55:25Speaker 5: When she'd had sex with the Johnny Depp.
- 55:27Speaker 3: And she could speak fluent French.
- 55:29Speaker 5: It's bad French.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Whatever. I don't speak anything.
- 55:33Speaker 5: She does speak fluent French and Italian. Let's always remember.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 5: But just that she does these things. She knows that
- 55:40Speaker 5: there are cameras there and then cannot admit that they happened.
- 55:43Speaker 5: Or like, you know, in the part where I'm watching now,
- 55:46Speaker 5: in some scenes she'll say about the count, we had
- 55:49Speaker 5: an open marriage. And then Bethany will say, did you
- 55:52Speaker 5: guys have an open marriage? And she's like, how dare you?
- 55:56Speaker 3: Right, right, exactly, yes.
- 55:57Speaker 5: You know, it's so funny. But if you are, at
- 56:00Speaker 5: the end of the day, a Carol Radswell who's going
- 56:02Speaker 5: to say there's such hypocrisy there, you just have to
- 56:04Speaker 5: be like, yes, it's Luann.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Like, there's going to be hypocrisy there. That's what she does.
- 56:11Speaker 3: But I think she is able to maintain friendships, and
- 56:14Speaker 3: I do think that she isn't fake about herself. And so, like, so,
- 56:19Speaker 3: I don't know if you know, but they took all,
- 56:23Speaker 3: they took Luann, Ramona, Sonia, Kelly Bessamone, Alex McCord, this girl,
- 56:31Speaker 3: Kristen Taichman, and Dorinda, And they are doing one week
- 56:36Speaker 3: back at that house where she screwed the pirate. Oh, really?
- 56:39Speaker 3: And they are doing Ultimate Girls Trip there for one week.
- 56:41Speaker 5: Wonderful.
- 56:42Speaker 3: But they didn't ask Jill. Yeah. Because Jill said, I
- 56:46Speaker 3: want the same pay as the other girls for if
- 56:50Speaker 3: they were going to go back and do a Legends thing,
- 56:53Speaker 3: like a five-month filming. And so they kicked her out
- 56:57Speaker 3: just because– and they're always calling her so thirsty. She's
- 56:59Speaker 3: the only one that's not the hypocrite. She was like,
- 57:01Speaker 3: if I don't get paid what the other girls are
- 57:02Speaker 3: getting paid, I don't want to do it. So then
- 57:05Speaker 3: now they're just doing it for a week.
- 57:06Speaker 5: I mean, the thing is, I have no doubt that
- 57:09Speaker 5: if Jill had shown up for whatever they offered her,
- 57:12Speaker 5: she would have made good television.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Of course.
- 57:14Speaker 5: It's a shame. Establish a place back in the franchise,
- 57:18Speaker 5: and it makes me a little sad. Sometimes I wonder
- 57:20Speaker 5: whether I undervalue myself, but I'm always like, I'd rather
- 57:23Speaker 5: have the chance than hold out.
- 57:24Speaker 3: But she did Ultimate Girls Trip at Dorinda's house.
- 57:27Speaker 5: Oh, she did?
- 57:28Speaker 3: And Dorinda... Was very cruel to her. Oh, really? And
- 57:32Speaker 3: Jill doesn't drink anything but Diet Coke and has it
- 57:34Speaker 3: for like 15 years.
- 57:35Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 57:37Speaker 3: And Dorinda drinks everything else.
- 57:40Speaker 5: People tell me that it turns real sad with Dorinda.
- 57:42Speaker 3: It does. And so it's like, she's kind of like,
- 57:45Speaker 3: you know, I think that was also part of her
- 57:47Speaker 3: being like, I'm not going to compromise on this and
- 57:49Speaker 3: be put in a position to be up against someone
- 57:53Speaker 3: who is like cruel and unstable and really mean to me. I, like, in.
- 57:57Speaker 5: I am proud of how Catholic Ramona and Dorinda are. Like,
- 58:02Speaker 5: when Dorinda is, like, first being introduced.
- 58:04Speaker 3: And Lou Ann is, too.
- 58:05Speaker 5: She talks about, is she?
- 58:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 5: But, like, for, like, Dorinda, like, Dorinda yelling, I made
- 58:11Speaker 5: it nice, is, like, the most Italian mom energy I've
- 58:15Speaker 5: ever seen. I love it so much.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I cooked. I cleaned. I made it nice.
- 58:20Speaker 5: I'll tell you guys.
- 58:21Speaker 3: You know what, Lou Ann? You know what? Okay. All right. Yeah. She's...
- 58:26Speaker 3: She's a good television. Okay, let's get to Beverly Hills.
- 58:29Speaker 5: Okay.
- 58:29Speaker 3: This is the first season, and what do you want
- 58:32Speaker 3: to say?
- 58:32Speaker 5: I just want to say, I had only watched the first,
- 58:36Speaker 5: I had watched the first season previously, and I, of course,
- 58:38Speaker 5: came out of it hating Camille.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:41Speaker 5: Camille is one of the finest friend ofs, the greatest
- 58:44Speaker 5: friend of, of all time.
- 58:45Speaker 3: The best.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Of course, the morally corrupt Faye Resnick. Like, any time
- 58:48Speaker 5: Faye Resnick enters a scene, you're like, oh, shit just
- 58:51Speaker 5: got real. Like, this is going to happen. Like, she's
- 58:53Speaker 5: going to throw a bomb and then disappear. Yeah. and
- 58:57Speaker 5: I love her so much. I'm excited that Taylor is
- 59:00Speaker 5: back on OC. It is sort of like, you know,
- 59:04Speaker 5: bumping somebody down to the minors, but also I think
- 59:08Speaker 5: she'll be great. and like I'm glad I watched Beverly
- 59:13Speaker 5: Hills first because I think after the flamethrowing of New
- 59:18Speaker 5: York it's light elegance might have seemed like you know
- 59:25Speaker 5: not that great but I mean it's like Lisa's maybe
- 59:29Speaker 5: the best real housewife. She, I would say, if anything,
- 59:32Speaker 5: she gets too good at it. By the season when
- 59:35Speaker 5: she's able to say, you know, the queen of diamonds,
- 59:38Speaker 5: it's like, you're orchestrating.
- 59:40Speaker 3: The crown is heavy, dear. Don't try to lift it.
- 59:43Speaker 5: You're orchestrating things so much that like, it's not as
- 59:47Speaker 5: fun as when you have sort of like equal power.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Well, that's why I think now when people say, would
- 59:51Speaker 3: she go back to Beverly Hills? I mean, she's done
- 59:53Speaker 3: so much with Vanderpump and she is such like the
- 59:56Speaker 3: motherly figure.
- 59:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 59:57Speaker 3: And, you know, she was very funny at her speech
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: at the Vanderpump Dog Gala that I went to this weekend.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: And yeah, could she go back? Sure. I think anyone
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: can go back. I think anyone can go back. But
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: I think people realize that really Lisa's commitment has always,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: and her real, I think she can be a good
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: girlfriend to someone, but let's like, she, it was always
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: about her family and her businesses. As it should be.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: As it should be. That's a realistic thing.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: She's got, like, Ken's so great. Like, there's such a
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: good comedy game there that it, like, I haven't watched Vanderpump. I, like,
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: of course it seems amazing and I want to watch it.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: But just, like, and also the fact that, like, periodically
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: in my life in West Hollywood, like, Ken and Jiggy
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: have shown up.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Shown up.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: R.I.P. You know, and, like, it is just sort of lovely.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Also, this is really jumpy. It's really like, that is
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Kim Richards, Kyle and Kathy's sister who was escaped from
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: West Mountain.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: I'm sorry, of course I know Kim. I don't know
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: why it didn't cross my mind that.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: That was her. Well, this is a very old picture.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: This is like 17 years old or something. I mean, okay,
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: the dynamic and that's- Maybe not 17 years old. That
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: sister relationship. God, I want to know more about that mom. Like,
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: she seems like a piece of work.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Well, I know everything about her because I've read every book.
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: But to me, the fundamental damage- Yes. The fundamental damage-
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: that Kyle is better at life and better at being
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: a real housewife, but Kim Richards is a better actress. Like,
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: Kim Richards, at the end of the day, is a
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: real actress. And there were, like.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Okay, I'm going to say something to you.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: I've said it before, and I don't think it really
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: took off.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: What?
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: I put this and tweeted it out years ago. The
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: dynamic between Kim Richards and Kyle Richards is whatever happened
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: to Baby Jane. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Like, you just need
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: a car accident.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Yes. Yes, because Kim Richards is the one that was
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: the real star.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Kathy got married at 18. Kathy was just a model.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Kim had all the shows. The Nanny, Escape from Witchmount,
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: all this stuff. Kyle was littler and had bit parts after.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: And then they get on the show together and Kyle
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: becomes the star, the brunette star. And the blonde girl
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: who has drug issues and alcohol issues, I'm writing a
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: letter to daddy. And the jealousy, it is amazing.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: I mean, on this show, the strength of a marriage
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: is so evident on Beverly Hills in a way that
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: it just isn't on New York. That like, Lisa... And
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: Kyle gains such strength financially, but also just spiritually from
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: having this person who is their partner.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Always have her back, yeah.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: Kathy's best moment is not in seasons 10 or 11
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: or 12. It is in like season seven or eight
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: when Kim's daughter comes out with the wedding dress that
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: she has chosen. And her mom's sister is just like, no.
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: And she tries to push back. And neither Kyle nor
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: Kim say a goddamn word And then I forgot whether
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: it is Kimberly or Brooke, but she tries to push
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: back and Kathy is just like, looks like a cocktail waitress.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: It's like, you can never wear that dress.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: I know. I guess I would be curious to know
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: if she did try it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: Kathy is a creature of rare power.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Then a couple seasons in, we have the introduction of
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Brandy Glanville. We wanted to talk about that.
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: So Brandy, just basically Brandy Glanville, what is wrong with
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: Brandy Glanville reminds me of what is wrong with my
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: sister in the way that just like she needs people
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: to love her so much that she will literally say
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: anything or do anything to try to keep control of it.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: And it is that sort of like, the thing that
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: like irks me but makes Brandy safe is that she'll
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: bite any hand. Like the fact that there came a
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: moment when she was backed up in a corner with
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Lisa and then she bit Lisa's hand.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: Uh, and it's like, she's dangerous. And I'm like, Sutton
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: kind of feels, I know that the gays love Sutton.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: I know that Sutton goes, um, to trivia at Tom Tom,
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: but like.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Why is it Sutton's photo? Oh, you're Sutton.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: Yes. Um, oh, back to, back to Kim.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: When Kim, Eileen, Eileen was a real good housewife.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: Um, but when, uh, Lisa and, uh, uh, Lisa Rinna
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: and Eileen are trying to talk down to Kim about,
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: you know, her drinking and all of that. And Kim
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: is basically like, you are working actors, but you're trash.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: And I am a drunk who can barely hold it together.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: But I know I'm a better actor than you are.
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: And it was very funny to me. But Brandy, I
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: just like, she makes me uncomfortable when she's on camera.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Nobody on.
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: New York makes me feel uncomfortable in the way that
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: Brandy really does. Yolanda, I thought was boring and I
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: was angry at her, but her raw Dutchness and her
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: ability to just sort of say, like, a ridiculous thing
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: to a person, it's what makes Amsterdam possible.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Well, she is the reason that there's this.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Saying that goes around called almond balm. Have you heard
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: about an almond balm?
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: I have heard about an almond balm.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: That comes from Yolanda on the show.
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: No, I'm sorry. You were the one who told me
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: about almond balm.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Not mom, but I used to say every article in
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: an Us Weekly, what do I eat in a day,
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: would be a handful of almonds as a snack.
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: My two favorite articles in a women's magazine are healthy
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: snacks you can eat at a Christmas party, and it's
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: always like instead of a latke, have nine almonds, and
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: then best genes for your body type.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: But no, watching her- But she said, I just want
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: to say, she said, there was a call from Gigi Hadid,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: who's now a famous model, so she was right. She
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: was like, you want to be a famous model? But
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: she said a couple things. One, she said, she goes,
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I don't want you playing volleyball with your big, wide shoulders.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: You look like a lesbian. And she goes, but I
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: do like volleyball. She's like, well, too bad. And the
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: other thing was, the girl called. The bomb.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: And she's like, I don't feel good. And she goes,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: take an almond, one, and chew it up really good
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: for a few minutes and then spit it out.
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: No!
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Something like that, just to get a little some nutrition.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Because she was always doing these cleanses, these lemon cayenne cleanses. And,
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: you know, hey, her daughter's her model, so.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: Do you think she fundamentally broke them or she taught
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: them a skill?
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: I think she taught them a skill. Yes. But then,
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: of course, that has been, you know, found to not
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: be fun once she had Lyme disease.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: I mean, I felt really, it was really hard, like,
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: that situation. He seemed terrible. I mean, she did seem
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: really boring, but also, like, having a hard medical situation
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: is boring. I believe, like, honestly.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Have you ever seen the music video that she did
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: for him as she's a stewardess?
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: No.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Singing. She did a music video for him where she
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: sings to David Foster. Where I'm like, why are you
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: singing when his former wife Linda Thompson actually wrote the
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: fucking songs with him? And was like Elvis's main girlfriend.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: So she's like, I can't remember the song, but you
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: can look it up. She's wearing like an old fashioned
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: flight attendant outfit on a private plane. And she's singing
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: this song. So it's like she tried to be like
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: more this like outgoing actress. And then she's like, everyone
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: comes around and sings. And then when they started to
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: sing like the one song that you could sing on TV,
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: Amazing Grace, he was like, uh, no, please I'll stop.
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: But like, why did Yolanda say yes is the question that.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Is- To what?
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: To Real Housewives. She clearly kind of was annoyed by
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: it the whole time.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I do have to say- I think, honestly, I don't
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: know if she thought it, but it's the only reason
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: her daughters are models.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: Oh, that's interesting. The only reason.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: So I think if it was not intentional, it really
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: worked out.
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: The way she was so single-minded that both of those
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: girls had to be models and Adnan had to be
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: a model. And it's like, have you seen Adnan? But
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: having dealt with Aviva, you feel uncomfortable criticizing.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: Aviva from New York.
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: Women who have these chronic health problems, I think it's
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: so easy to dismiss them. But after having seen Aviva,
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: I have so much more sympathy for Yolanda and her
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Lyme disease.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: What did you think about when Lisa Renna said, Munchausen's
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: and Munchausen's. by proxy?
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I think Lisa Renna is real good at the show.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: I think Lisa Renna is- Do.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: You think that Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle essentially put Lisa
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: up to it to actually put that out there on
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: the show that people were suspicious of her Lyme disease
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: being Munchausen's?
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: If they did- good for all of them. Like good for,
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: it established like Lisa Rinna within the show, but I
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: don't think Lisa Rinna needed Lisa Vanderpump to give that
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: to her. I think from the minute Lisa Rinna showed up,
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: like Lisa Rinna and Eileen, first of all, them showing
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: up and having each other as friends and partners, great.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: That Eileen loved doing the light comedy portion of it
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: and showed us just how relatable her life was and
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: not glamorous, hilarious. But they both showed up with soap
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: skills And Lisa Rinna was like, I've spent the last
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: 20 years of my life watching these dumb plot lines.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: I will introduce dumb plot lines into this show. I
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: love it. I love it. And, you know, it's like,
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: I like when Kim is playing the game. There have
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: been a couple of recent seasons where Kim, or where Kyle,
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: as reigning queen of Beverly Hills, thinks her only job
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: is to have cute moments with Portia. And by the way,
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: at the end of the day, the only housewives I
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: really care about are Portia and what is Ramona's daughter's name?
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Avery.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: Avery. They're the most interesting, sensible people on any of
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: these shows. Like, I think the best thing about Ramona
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: is that she was able to raise an Avery.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: But like when Kyle is just doing like comedy and
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: not getting into the fray or when she's just crying,
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: I get very, very tired of it.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: I miss Adrian Maloof and the energy of fuck you money. Like,
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: Diana Jenkins brought it in her weird way.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Oh, forget Diana Jenkins. Okay, let's get into what's going
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: on now. Denise Richards, okay, I want to say, Kyle,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: this weekend, had her annual white party. But instead of
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: having it at her Encino home, she had it at
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: SoFi Stadium.
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: She, the whole place was empty, and in the middle
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: of the field, they put out a white carpet and
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: And a catered tables, a DJ, dancing, and Erika Jayne performed.
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: I mean, I love that.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: So that was her Super Bowl moment.
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: I love it.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: And there was people, someone wrote me. They said they
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: overheard Mauricio saying at a restaurant, this is going to
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: be the most epic party in Housewife history. So I
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: think they're right. I mean, some people said it looked
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: weird that it was, you know, an empty stadium. I
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: think it was freaking amazing. I wish I was invited.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: And she had Denise Richards there. Of course, Crystal was there. Garcelle,
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: I think, was there. Erica performed. Lisa Rinna, not there
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: because she's not on the show anymore. Sutton was there.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: Dorit was there. And I think... I mean, I think
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: they were all there. I know I don't know that
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: I saw photos of everybody, but... Who do you.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Think had a more acrimonious leave? Lisa or Carol Radswell?
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Oh, I think... I think Lisa.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: Oh, really? Because I kind of feel like Lisa could
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: come back, where it just seems like Carol and Andy.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: Oh, I guess you're right. Carol cannot come back because
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: Carol said the famous line.
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Are you afraid of her too now, Andy?
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: All right. And also, you're so full of shit. Two
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: things I distinctly remember during first season of Beverly Hills,
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: you referring to Mauricio as, or Kyle with the hot husband.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: And his hotness, as it's gently gotten barrier over time,
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: I adore. He's so excited but remains out of the
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: fray so beautifully. I do have to say.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: I don't think there's any other housewife that has built
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: the success that Kyle has. It's been the husband's success, too.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: So many of these husbands are emasculated, get divorced. Her...
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: She emasculated him and he took the opportunity and it
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: came right at the right time. He had the foundation
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: of real estate already, built his own thing, franchised it
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: with the daughters working in it.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: I love watching Buying Beverly Hills because if I'm doing dishes,
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: I hear Farrah or Alexia and I think Kyle is
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: on my screen.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Oh, I know. They sound so much alike. So I
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: do think, I really think there is not a more
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: successful housewife. In the sense of family, your daughters are,
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: you know, doing great. They have a career.
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: The husband's great. The husband has given him so many
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: other people jobs because of the agency. And that they've
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: stayed together and everything.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: She's always relatable because she's always having falling outs with
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: her sister. Before we go any further, I need to
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: address my favorite, my former favorite housewife of all time.
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: Dorit Kemsley.
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: And I need to say, she is our first real
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: Jewish Disney princess.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: Oh, you're right.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: She really is. However much she's been out of the
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: central fray since the end of Lucy Lucy Apple Juice, still,
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: every cutaway to her outfits, how does she maintain that
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: level of glam and couture? Does PK make enough money?
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: What's going on there? Because she always looks.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: That is probably the $ 4 billion question. And I, it's
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: a lot. You know, she was robbed.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: And all these things were taken. Yes. And luckily they
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: had insurance.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: Luckily they had insurance.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: Because a lot of things were probably no longer in season.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: And then she got new things in season.
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: Yes. I would also say it is just after a
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: trip to London that, Where a person, if, you know,
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: they had some things in their bags, and then they
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: were no longer in their bags, and then they came back, well,
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: they aren't at the house either.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, there's a lot there. But, no,
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: I mean, there's, you know, they own the house, they
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: don't own the house, they own the house, but a
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: small percentage, they're selling the house.
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: The reason I am most annoyed that I am not
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: getting to watch this in real time with you is you,
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: real estate, no one I know knows Southern California real
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: estate better than you. And just sort of the house,
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: when they downsized houses and went to Encino, so many thoughts.
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: I would respect Garcelle more if she had more outdoor
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: space at her home. I want you to explain to
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: me what her house situation is. But we're running short
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: on time. No, no.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: But getting to Dorit.
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: The glam, you know what? She does love it. It
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: really is visually fun. It is part of her identity.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Because what happened to the Dorit Beverly Beach bikinis? That's done.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: That didn't make it. And I know that these, like,
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Louis Vuittons and everybody, they don't give her these, like,
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: you know, Louis Vuitton leather skirts and jumpsuits and stuff
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: for free.
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: I don't know that she can borrow them through, like,
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: a high stylist or not. I can't believe that they don't.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Because I think.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: I think, like, it keeps people making those places relevant.
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Because lots of times, you know, people are like, I'm
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: over it. Too many people are wearing it. But then
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: you see her wearing it, and you're like, God, it
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: is fabulous. Or, you know, the rat tail braid that
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: goes down. It's so good. And so I'm like, but
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: the amount of money that this must cost, because the
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: hair and makeup people aren't going to do it for free.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: Maybe the clothes are borrowed, but everyone says they're not.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: They're not being borrowed in return. They are being purchased.
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I don't know what she does with them after. I
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: don't know if she keeps them, if she resales them
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: at the RealReal. I don't know, but that's a full-time
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: job just dressing for the show.
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: But on the subject of husbands and their money when
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: it comes to Beverly Hills, I need to tell you
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: the two things that if I were a real housewife,
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: I would want to say to members of the current
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: housewife cast. Would you like to hear them?
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: Okay. The first one is, and these all center around
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: Erica and Tom. And do I think Erica has been insufferable? Yes.
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: Am I tired of hearing about her? Yes. But I
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: would love to say to Sutton Strack, where do you
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: think Christian's money came from? Like you, her ex-husband, like
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: you're whining about these victims. You think your husband, like
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: a billionaire venture capitalist, made his money by like giving
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: milk to orphans? No. You're only lucky that your getaway
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: car got away. Like, you just got out of the
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: divorce before we figured out what he's done wrong. And
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: to Crystal Kung Minkoff.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: So, Erica Jane could have said that. Let me tell
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: you something, baby. Now I'm going to say what you said. Okay. Okay,
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: so Sutton says to her, Sutton says to.
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: Her, I just want to know. I just want to know.
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: I just want to know how you morally are dealing
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: with the fact that all of these victims are out
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: there because of things that you profited from.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: Shut the fuck up. Really, Sutton? You don't think that
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: maybe your husband didn't get his money by giving milk
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: cartons to kids that don't have schools? That's right. Let's
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: just talk about your venture capitalist husband, Christian. How do
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: you think he made his millions as you were being
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: invited to the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show? Oh, you're
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: really such a great conversationalist? They wanted you there? Or
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: was it because you bought millions of dollars of clothes?
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Are you giving those clothes to orphans and widows? I
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: don't think so. Don't fuck widows. me. I've been buried
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: and I've risen. It's expensive to be me.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: You said it better.
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: It's fine.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Come on.
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: The second one, I'm very excited to hear. Prepare your
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: Crystal Kung mink off, okay?
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Okay. Well, she just is a Northridge girl.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: Okay. So here's what I would say to Crystal Kong Minkoff.
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: I would say, did you know that there are 63
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: Japanese animators who have signed a letter saying that The
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: Lion King was actually stolen from a cartoon that was
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: made in Japan in the 60s? Now, while there's no
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: legal basis for this claim, what moral obligation do you
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: have to those animators?
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Well, my husband was the director of Yeah.
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: He stole an idea.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: He didn't write it.
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: He stole images. He stole the go look. The look
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: of the animation is the same.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: Well, I'm not an animator. And you know what? I'm
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: not a fucking lawyer. That's right, Crystal. You're not an animator.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: You're not. And I'm not a fucking lawyer. I was
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: a dancer. I was a stripper. I was the lead
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: waitress at Chasen. And Tom Girardi waddled in. I thought
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: I was going to have the greatest life ever. 21
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: years later, look at me. Look at my life.
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: I mean, she's a great character. How do you feel
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: about Garcelle and Sutton just railroading things this last season?
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: I mean, I love Garcelle as a person. I've worked
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: with her. I like her. Every time I see her,
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: she could not be more delightful. She's a dedicated mother.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: She's a great actress. I think she did great. I
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: think she's held her own. I think she's been classy.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: I think during the post-2020, you know, constant racism talk,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: I think she handled herself absolutely wonderfully based on her
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: point of view of the world.
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: People keep telling me how rough things get when Is
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: It Ebony on New York shows up.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: No one wants to remember that season.
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: Also, it wasn't fun.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Like, Garcelle, to me, was a little bit of the
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: energy of, like, when Lisa and Eileen first showed up,
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: of somebody who still knows how to do a job.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: She knows how to do a job, but also she's like,
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: like she just has some really great expressions where she's
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: just like, okay, you know, and she has to give her,
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: you know, opinion of things. But I will say about
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: the Eric and Tom thing, because I've been covering it forever.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: I'm sure.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: And I've had a major insider, Kimberly Archie, who's a
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: huge part of one of the cases and also worked
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: for him and also had.
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: No, when I was researching it, so many of the
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: pieces of information came up with Juicy Scoop as the source.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: But as I produce this show and put it out
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: for the people's ears, okay, I... It's interesting. People don't
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: really care about Jeffrey Epstein and why no one else
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: has been arrested, but the only person doing time is Ghislaine.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: I would think that's interesting. I think you would want
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: to be more... But when I do stuff like that,
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: people are like, we're over it. I think they're over
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: Erica and Tom and the orphans and the widows. I mean,
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: I think they care, but I don't think they're feeding it.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: It's like a binge. You're binging on Vanderpump. You were
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: binging on Erica and Tom. And now you're like, okay,
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: she's skinny. She gets to sing her songs again. The
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: gays are going back to see her in Vegas.
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: And.
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: It looks like she's never going to really be held
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: responsible for anything that her husband did. Yeah. And I
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: think a lot of people are like, fuck, I don't
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: know what my husband does. So, like, maybe she shouldn't
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: be held responsible. And you go through the nuances and
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: then people go, but this and this and this and
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: this and this. It's like, I don't think people... Like,
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: I think we've moved on. We've moved on from COVID. Like,
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: people are just like, ugh. We've moved on from Tiger King. Like,
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: people just move on.
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: Also, like, Tom Girardi doesn't remember what he did now. Like,
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: it's hard to keep track of it.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: Like, it just... It doesn't matter. Erika Jayne is what
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: she is. I just, I liked her so much better
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: those first two or three seasons that she was on.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Well, her personality has massively changed.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: And I still don't know that we know who Erika
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: Jayne is because she was one way, she had a
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: different voice in the early seasons. She was like, hey,
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: it's a lot more fun to be rich than poor.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: Then she had a voice that was much like deeper
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: and like, I'll tell you something, baby, you know? And
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: now it's like, what are we going to see this season?
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: Now we're going to see the resurgence of her being like, fuck,
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: I lived. I have other stuff going on. I have
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: this guy in Vegas that's like, I get to do
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: this show. I get to dance and sing again. I
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: really didn't think she would dance and sing again because
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: I thought there's no way the fans are going to
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: go see her. They are.
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: Of course.
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: People are saying no one's going to go to Tom and,
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: you know, Tom Tom or Schwartzes and Santa. Yes, they are.
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: Gays love a mess. And also Tom Sandoval is hot.
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: They're going back. People act like they're up in arms.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: People go see Louis C.K. People will go see Chris D'Elia.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: You don't need the whole world to go. You just
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: need a couple hundred people to.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: What do you think of waterproof mascara, Gates? Do you
- 1:24:08Speaker 5: think that that was?
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: I just saw a TikTok that waterproof mascara is awful
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: for you. There's a million lawsuits about it. I don't
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: like waterproof mascara because it takes about four days for
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: it to come off. And the only time I've done
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: it is like a makeup artist has used it without
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: consulting with me. And I, or I accidentally use it. Yes,
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: I believe that she purposely knew that she was in
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: an emotional state. I don't think she was fake crying.
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: I just knew that, the more thing is not that
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: she did, that she had the waterproof, the non-waterproof mascara
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: and she was a fan of it or did actually
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: wear it. Me personally, like I said, never wear it.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: Tell people not to use it. Don't use the waterproof
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: glue on my eyelashes. But the fact that you feel
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: liquid coming down your face... And that you wouldn't naturally
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: wipe it tells me that she planned to garner some sympathy.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: And she needed to do that. Okay. Except people then
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: thought it was fake.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: I would now like you to turn in just for
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: a brief moment.
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: Into a coach.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: You have.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: It's called a housewife consultant.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: A housewife consultant.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: You have Crystal Kung Minkoff.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: I have two degrees.
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: You have Crystal Kung Minkoff in a corner.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: She's managed to survive two seasons.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: With just sort of like. Light friction. I mean, she
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: had an iconic moment with Sutton.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: But her capacity to generate drama has not been great.
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: What do you, what is her strategy for this season?
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: This is a challenge I might have to give you
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: back your consulting fee. Honestly, it really is. Because Crystal
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: is a complete delight. I've interviewed her.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: I've talked to her.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: She's extremely normal.
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Like I said, she's from Northridge. She is not a geisha. Yeah.
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: Like, she met him young, but like 22 or 21
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: or something.
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: I mean, she clearly has her own shit going on
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: and a healthy sense of self.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: She did marry a guy that's like 40 years older
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: than she, but they've been together a long time. He's
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: very delightful.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: She's a mom. And, you know, like, it's, I don't
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: know what she's going to bring this season. I mean, also,
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: you don't want to have people have to fake their life.
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: She's revealed she's had an eating disorder. She's, you know,
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: she is the first, you know, Asian woman on the show.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: So we get to see that part of her culture,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: which I think is really fun. She also has a
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: great business that they don't highlight. Which is what? She
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: created the coconut water.
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: That's in Costco. Really? With like a high school or
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: college friend.
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: Why don't we know about this?
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: She has her own money. She has her own business.
- 1:26:35Speaker 5: Oh, that's wonderful.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: They won't share it because they won't give any of it.
- 1:26:38Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: Because she created it before.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: But like, why not see her like, like at least
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: have one meeting about it.
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: Yeah. Because I think that's interesting.
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: But listen, no, here's what the strategy is.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: Next season, like, the best way to survive as a
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: housewife is to attack and potentially destroy one of the
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: weaker housewives who's been around for a while. The answer
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: is eat Dorit or eat Denise. I think that Denise
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: is a harder game because you have to come, I
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: think if you come at Denise from the right direction,
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: she'll fold. Like, there are places where she has a
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: sense of power and places where she doesn't. And I
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: think that there is a lot of, like, there's a
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: lot of spine in Denise Richards.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: I mean, that's what's just hard about this job. Yeah.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Because the truth is, it's become a place of combat.
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: And so they do have to do that to keep
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: their job. I also think someone like Crystal doesn't care
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: if they don't ask her back.
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: So I say to Crystal, don't, don't go low. Don't
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: go after somebody. Unless they go after you or your
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: marriage or bring up that animation shit. Yeah. Then fucking
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: go after them. Then go after them. But if they don't,
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: be the young, gorgeous, happily married woman that you are.
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: That's a businesswoman who's smart, who really came from normal
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: valley means, who is also like super thrifty. Like, don't change.
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: Her going hard at Dorit would be so funny.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Yeah. I can't see it because neither one of them
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: are vicious.
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: No.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: So that would be weird. That would feel inauthentic. So
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: I say don't do that.
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: I know. It's just like Dorit has such a hard
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: and awkward time when people are coming after her. She
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: doesn't know how to fight back.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Because Dorit, too, is a genuine– look, they're all nice
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: to me. Yes. I had them all on. They're all
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: nice to me. And even though I talked a lot
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: of stuff about Erika Jayne, either she doesn't know or
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: doesn't care. But when I saw her getting off the
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: plane at BravoCon, she asked about my fall. She was
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: perfectly nice. Oh, that's wonderful. And I am happy that
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: she's back and performing. I am because I'm like.
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: One of the things I love most about this world
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: is you are... someone who means a great deal to me,
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: and there has been a journey with our relationship, as
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: there always is between sisters. I mean, who are we
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: if not Kim, Kyle, and Kathy? Just by weight.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: But....
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: Knowing in each of these worlds that this is a world,
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: these are women, I mean, it's the truest Gen X culture.
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: It's the truest Gen X women's culture. And that these
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: are worlds that you can enter into.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: That no one has ever said. And it's so true.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: And as someone that's their age, that's why I love it.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: And I love that other fans have found it. I
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: love that gay guys love it as well. you know,
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: admiring women, big sisters, but you're right. It's Gen X.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: It is my life.
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: And it is also, it's women being business people. It's
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: women being smart. It's defining like women between 30 and
- 1:29:45Speaker 5: 60 as having relationships that matter as much as husband
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: or child. But the fact that you can always, go
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: into this world that I always know. You're friends with Vicky.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: You have a husband who is in real estate, too,
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: and you have your own business and you have two children,
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: and that when you see these people, you see them
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: as people on TV that you talk about, but also
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: as peers, to the extent that Erika Jayne is sort
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: of like, I heard about your fall, are you okay?
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. So, Guy, such a delight. And I love
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: that you say that I am a sorority girl because
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: I do identify as that. It is part of my history.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: There's a lot of people that have said they hate
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: that I was in a sorority and that I bring
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: it up too much and that they therefore have to
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: stop following me and write a horrible one restart review.
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: And I just want to say to those people, you
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: don't have to join the sorority. You can hate sororities.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: I'm going to cover Bama Rush, the HBO Max doc soon.
- 1:30:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: I might bring it up at my live show in Vegas.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: I don't know. But that is something that I lived through.
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: Like other people could say, they were a Marine. And
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: I have a right to talk about it. So I
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: love that you recognize it, that it makes me who
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: I am and the good, the bad, the ugly about it.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: And I just want to say that.
- 1:31:12Speaker 5: You have a strong life philosophy and you have a
- 1:31:14Speaker 5: strong moral center, which I think isn't the first thing
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: that comes to people's mind when you have somebody who
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: shows up put together and talks about silly gossip shows
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: and stuff like that. But I think that it's the
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: reason that you are good at analyzing these things is
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: because you come at it from an earnest place of like,
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: how do I behave with the people in my life?
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: What a beautiful way to end. Guy Branum, tell everybody
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: where they can follow you and get your incredible wisdom
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: on life.
- 1:31:41Speaker 5: Well, they can't get my wisdom, but Platonic on Apple
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: Plus comes out today. This is the entirety of my
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: press junket. I'm only a recurring. That's amazing.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: Tell us about this show.
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: It's Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen. And it was written
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: and directed by Francesca Zalbanco and Nick Stoller, who co-wrote
- 1:32:01Speaker 5: and directed Bros. And so it's about basically a guy
- 1:32:06Speaker 5: gets divorced and his former platonic female best friend who
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: hated his wife like hits him up and is like
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: they start hanging out again and then she a woman
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: in her 40s sort of starts going through her midlife
- 1:32:18Speaker 5: crisis and like going back to who she was when
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: she was in her 20s ooh I love this and
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: her husband is played by Luke the hot guy from
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: Bros and I play his work husband.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: You're married to the Luke guy no no no oh
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: just work husband.
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: Yes Luke is married to Rose but I'm sort of
- 1:32:37Speaker 5: I'm to him what I was to you so many
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: years ago The sounding board in your office.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: I love this. I am definitely watching this show. Platonic
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: on Apple Plus.
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: And I am across all social media at Guy Branum.
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: And I am working on no projects because I am
- 1:32:53Speaker 5: on strike. WGA strong.
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: Absolutely. Keep that health insurance. Whatever it takes. I love you, Guy.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: I love you very much, Heather. Thank you so much
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: for having me and thank you for talking to me
- 1:33:06Speaker 5: about this stuff. It's the thing I've wanted most.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: I'm sure people will beg for you to come back.
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: As the strike continues and you have more time to watch,
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: please come with notes and we will talk about other things.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Find another franchise, do whatever you want. I suggest attacking Atlanta.
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Okay, bye. All right, you guys. Thank you so much.
