- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's Almost Famous podcast. Yes, we're breaking down episode eight
- 0:09Speaker 2: of Joey's season of the Bachelor. It's hometown week. Yeah,
- 0:13Speaker 2: there's four women left, some twists, some turns. But to
- 0:17Speaker 2: get started, Ashley, you sent me a text that said
- 0:20Speaker 2: you were crying watching ash or Kelsey A's hometown date.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I didn't ask why because I want to stay curious
- 0:27Speaker 2: as a Zach tell us what hit you the most?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh, so much of it. Obviously, her talking
- 0:36Speaker 3: about her mom is really emotional. I think that would
- 0:40Speaker 3: hit me the most. Was just like her talking to
- 0:43Speaker 3: her dad about the love that he had with her mom,
- 0:47Speaker 3: and then that moment where she said I think I
- 0:53Speaker 3: think I love him, and then her dad goes, I
- 0:56Speaker 3: love you, and it was just like I can't stop
- 1:00Speaker 3: dripping water from my eyes. It was just so sweet
- 1:04Speaker 3: and like, to me, there's just that well like he
- 1:09Speaker 3: looks at Kelsey differently than he looks at everyone else,
- 1:12Speaker 3: and he loved that family and that hometown more than
- 1:15Speaker 3: anything else.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a really special hometown. There's a couple.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I mean, I think all of these were special in
- 1:22Speaker 2: their own way. It was a good Hometown episode. It
- 1:26Speaker 2: was you know, there's something really cool about hometowns Ashley,
- 1:32Speaker 2: and you hear it from people who have been through it.
- 1:36Speaker 2: You know, you have all this emotion kind of building
- 1:38Speaker 2: up for weeks now, where you have talked about your family,
- 1:42Speaker 2: You've talked about maybe some of the harder parts of
- 1:44Speaker 2: your life, you talked about some of the better parts
- 1:46Speaker 2: of your life. You've talked about your family or your
- 1:49Speaker 2: close relationships a lot, and you start to miss them
- 1:52Speaker 2: because you're putting words to things you felt that maybe
- 1:56Speaker 2: you've never expressed, and everybody does it right. Hometown's at
- 2:00Speaker 2: this moment where you see everybody for the first time
- 2:02Speaker 2: and it just kind of all comes spewing out. I
- 2:04Speaker 2: also think that's why we see a lot of emotion
- 2:06Speaker 2: during emotions during Hometown week. I don't know Kelsey's relationship,
- 2:11Speaker 2: I don't know Daisy's relationship, I don't know Rachel's relationship,
- 2:14Speaker 2: and I don't know Maria's relationships outside of this episode
- 2:16Speaker 2: with their family and what they've told us this season.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But I will say oftentimes in life, we neglect, or
- 2:27Speaker 2: maybe we assume that people know how we feel about
- 2:31Speaker 2: them and I think every Hometown episode there's these moments
- 2:34Speaker 2: where we see somebody express something or communicate something to
- 2:39Speaker 2: somebody that it almost feels like it's maybe the first
- 2:42Speaker 2: time because they're able to articulate their feelings really well
- 2:45Speaker 2: because they've been thinking about it for a.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Long time and they've been going through Bachelor like emotional yeah. Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And so kelsey A's or hometown date and this moment
- 2:55Speaker 2: with her father felt like that to me, where I'm
- 2:59Speaker 2: sure he knows that Kelsey loves him, and I'm sure
- 3:02Speaker 2: he knows that Kelsey loves her mom, and I'm sure
- 3:06Speaker 2: he knows all these things. But it did feel like
- 3:08Speaker 2: this like breakthrough moment kind of where they're gonna walk
- 3:12Speaker 2: out of that conversation like with uh, with confidence and
- 3:16Speaker 2: knowing how everybody feels about him. And I think that's
- 3:18Speaker 2: a really cool thing about these dates, And for me,
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's a really fun part of these dates is just
- 3:23Speaker 2: for everybody walk out being like, I know, I know
- 3:26Speaker 2: how you feel about me, I know how much you
- 3:28Speaker 2: respect me. And that's maybe what made me emotional watching
- 3:31Speaker 2: Kelsey's date was just like the fact that her dad
- 3:35Speaker 2: had those words said to him from his daughter and
- 3:38Speaker 2: then his daughter was able to express those words to
- 3:41Speaker 2: her dad. So she'll never doubt that I tell that
- 3:43Speaker 2: enough how much I loved them or how much I
- 3:45Speaker 2: respect them.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'm talking about when she said to him, I feel
- 3:49Speaker 3: I am in love with Joey.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah I know, I know.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, Like you mean the way that she was
- 3:54Speaker 3: able to express that to her debt of.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It the whole thing, the whole thing, like the whole thing.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Also, So there was something about the dad's warmth and
- 4:03Speaker 3: openness towards Joey that I really appreciated because you guys know,
- 4:08Speaker 3: after listening to this podcast for so many years that
- 4:10Speaker 3: like sometimes I'm like, oh, the story the whole like
- 4:14Speaker 3: protect their I don't don't want up getting hurt like
- 4:17Speaker 3: blah blah blah. Thing. It's like gets old for me
- 4:20Speaker 3: because again maybe it's just like something that I can't
- 4:22Speaker 3: relate to as much, but it's like always about like
- 4:25Speaker 3: guarding the heart and protecting and like don't hurt my daughter.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And I like the way that this man just sat
- 4:31Speaker 3: down with him and he just seemed like really warm
- 4:35Speaker 3: and open to Joey. So it seemed like a real
- 4:38Speaker 3: future father in law son in law moment, and then
- 4:42Speaker 3: even when they left, he said something like she's ready
- 4:49Speaker 3: for this, like she's ready to be in love and
- 4:52Speaker 3: if she gets hurt, like she'll make it through. It's like, yeah, exactly,
- 4:57Speaker 3: like she's gonna make it through. And then we saw,
- 5:01Speaker 3: of course, are the other families, particularly with Rachel's, it
- 5:04Speaker 3: was just like, I don't even know if I wanted
- 5:07Speaker 3: to go through with this because possible heartbreak, but you know,
- 5:11Speaker 3: like possible heartbreak, but in the end, isn't it worth
- 5:16Speaker 3: the love?
- 5:17Speaker 2: Well, let's then go to Rachel's because Rachel's hometown date
- 5:20Speaker 2: was the next day Kelsey's. A hometown date was a
- 5:23Speaker 2: just a beautiful time during this episode, and really, when
- 5:28Speaker 2: it comes to this whole season, it made a lot
- 5:30Speaker 2: of sense that the two of them would continue on
- 5:34Speaker 2: past this week. And I agree with you, it did
- 5:37Speaker 2: feel like there was just a lot of love in
- 5:38Speaker 2: the room, a lot of support in the room. Rachel's
- 5:41Speaker 2: hometown date was similar in a lot of ways. It
- 5:44Speaker 2: was really fun, There's a lot of good aspects to it,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but it did feel and Rachel even assumed that it
- 5:51Speaker 2: was going to be a lot more difficult to go
- 5:54Speaker 2: through this hometown date than the others. My big question here,
- 5:58Speaker 2: I don't think there. I mean, this was not a
- 5:59Speaker 2: hometown date that will stand out in the history of
- 6:01Speaker 2: hometown dates as a bad one. Right, this wasn't so tough. No,
- 6:05Speaker 2: it wasn't as tough as some of the others. I
- 6:07Speaker 2: just do wonder when your daughter chooses, an adult daughter
- 6:12Speaker 2: chooses to go on this show, do you not hope
- 6:17Speaker 2: that she will be coming to the hometown dates at
- 6:20Speaker 2: some point because that means that she's around and that
- 6:22Speaker 2: love's still, you know, in the air, and there's a
- 6:24Speaker 2: potential you know, partnership that could be done. So you
- 6:29Speaker 2: hope for this moment, but also you support your daughter's
- 6:35Speaker 2: decision to do the show, like, you know what the
- 6:37Speaker 2: show is like, there's no surprise on what's happening. And
- 6:40Speaker 2: if you're going to be really against the idea that
- 6:42Speaker 2: she's coming home with a guy who's also dating other people,
- 6:46Speaker 2: I feel like that should have been a conversation way
- 6:49Speaker 2: before you sign up.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I think she probably had the conversation and then they're
- 6:55Speaker 3: probably like, you may not get that far. She's probably like,
- 6:58Speaker 3: I probably won't get that far, and then here they
- 7:00Speaker 3: are okay, and then they were like they were very
- 7:05Speaker 3: nice the beginning and like not that they were ever mean,
- 7:08Speaker 3: just like the mom was super warm and welcoming when
- 7:11Speaker 3: she was doing the when he did the Filipino tradition,
- 7:14Speaker 3: and then he was eating the pig and everybody was
- 7:16Speaker 3: having a blast, and then the mom just got really
- 7:18Speaker 3: emotional thinking about the other girls involved. And I think
- 7:21Speaker 3: a lot of it has to do with the ex fiance. Yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and they just seem like they were probably really close
- 7:28Speaker 3: to him, and maybe like just the family as a
- 7:30Speaker 3: whole doesn't really want to go through meeting and losing
- 7:34Speaker 3: another potential husband.
- 7:36Speaker 2: We've always given credit to the families on this podcast.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It is hard. It's got to be weird. You almost
- 7:42Speaker 2: just got to, like, I feel like, suck it up
- 7:45Speaker 2: and go through the motions until the date's done. Because one,
- 7:52Speaker 2: there's no convincing probably the person that's on the show,
- 7:55Speaker 2: your son or daughter, that they should stop pursuing, you know,
- 8:00Speaker 2: this relationship.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Nobody's been convinced out of the relationship because of.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and it just feels like it does when you
- 8:08Speaker 2: are the parents that are a little more protective than others,
- 8:11Speaker 2: It does feel like it it puts a cloud over
- 8:16Speaker 2: that experience a little bit. Yeah, it makes you know,
- 8:19Speaker 2: whoever the bachelor or bachelorette just feel a little bit weary.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Rachel's hometown date, compared to the others, did feel like
- 8:26Speaker 2: the most you know, kind of protective. There was nothing
- 8:30Speaker 2: that the mom said that I don't agree with, though,
- 8:34Speaker 2: there was nothing that the dad said that I don't
- 8:36Speaker 2: agree with. I like actually how he said, hey, you
- 8:38Speaker 2: have my number. If you want my blessing, you call
- 8:40Speaker 2: me at the end. I think that's great. Yeah, but
- 8:43Speaker 2: it wasn't the happy go lucky ones like the Kelsey's.
- 8:46Speaker 2: You know, even though it was emotional, it was like
- 8:48Speaker 2: really fun and there are a lot of laughs, and
- 8:50Speaker 2: it was really great to gather the Daisy hometown, which
- 8:55Speaker 2: we'll get to next here, you know, obviously was a
- 8:58Speaker 2: very like uplifting. There were some humor, there was a
- 9:01Speaker 2: lot of connection. You got to feel like you understood
- 9:03Speaker 2: the family a little bit from that hometown date. You
- 9:06Speaker 2: have to understand Daisy a little bit more. I'll be honest.
- 9:10Speaker 2: At this point in the episode, actually I thought Rachel
- 9:12Speaker 2: was the one going home. I was fully confident. I
- 9:16Speaker 2: thought that this was the one. Like if there was
- 9:18Speaker 2: a question the response and the families from this hometown date,
- 9:22Speaker 2: this would have been the one and be like, I
- 9:23Speaker 2: don't think they're in for this and I don't think
- 9:27Speaker 2: I can go through this process in the end without
- 9:32Speaker 2: their support, and so you know, Rachel should should be
- 9:36Speaker 2: the one to go home. That's really where my mind went.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I can. Yeah, he probably got in that car
- 9:43Speaker 3: and probably had similar thoughts. He probably thought, Okay, well
- 9:47Speaker 3: she's cussy, you know, she's on the cusp. I don't
- 9:51Speaker 3: know where these dates really fell in order of each other.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We saw that with her. I feel like almost everybody
- 9:58Speaker 3: wasn't actually at their real house this episode. Did you
- 10:02Speaker 3: get that vibe? Yeah, definitely seems like they were all
- 10:05Speaker 3: like little rental homes. And they said with Rachel that
- 10:08Speaker 3: they weren't they they were not going to fly to Hawaii,
- 10:10Speaker 3: like they weren't going to make that flight for this,
- 10:13Speaker 3: So it seemed like they were at her aunt's house.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And what was weird about this date is that there
- 10:20Speaker 3: was no there was no date date portion shown. There
- 10:24Speaker 3: was just the family time. They didn't have solo time.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I'm sure they did, but I just don't think that
- 10:30Speaker 3: mid cut.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I actually think the like kind of the party outside.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I think that was like their day date portion.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I think so interesting.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Okay. And then another thing of notes is that we
- 10:43Speaker 3: only saw Joey asked Rachel's dad and then Maria's dad
- 10:50Speaker 3: for permission to marry, which I thought was interesting considering
- 10:54Speaker 3: those were two that I thought were on the cusp
- 10:57Speaker 3: in this episode. Happens every time I probably asked all
- 11:00Speaker 3: four he does.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think this is like necessarily even like
- 11:05Speaker 2: producer manipulation, you ask off four, you know you want
- 11:09Speaker 2: to because you don't know how this is gonna end
- 11:11Speaker 2: at this point. You might have an idea, but you
- 11:14Speaker 2: don't really know. And they had a responses that we'll
- 11:17Speaker 2: talk about. The Others might have just been like, hey,
- 11:20Speaker 2: go for it. Like yeah, I mean we did kind of,
- 11:23Speaker 2: you know, we saw it, Maria. I think we saw
- 11:24Speaker 2: it with Kelsey A right.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Did he maybe he referred to it in a different way.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I feel like we kind of did. Yeah, I think
- 11:32Speaker 2: we did. The only one we really didn't see was
- 11:35Speaker 2: Daisy's and I you know, I don't know if it.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Would have made sense a father talk with Daisy's.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so, but I do assume he talked to all
- 11:42Speaker 2: of them and asked all the fathers the same question.
- 11:55Speaker 2: So we go into Daisy's hometown date. Now, I mean,
- 11:58Speaker 2: this is obviously a family that we've heard a lot
- 12:00Speaker 2: about based on their support for Daisy, their love for
- 12:03Speaker 2: each other, Daisy's excitement to bring the family into this.
- 12:06Speaker 2: There was a lot of excitement from Daisy leading up
- 12:09Speaker 2: to you know, walking into that house, Like this was
- 12:13Speaker 2: a great hometown date for me. It was probably the
- 12:16Speaker 2: most normal, not normal in terms of like the family
- 12:20Speaker 2: acted normal, just like what we expected of a hometown
- 12:23Speaker 2: date on The Bachelor. There's there's really nothing of note
- 12:27Speaker 2: outside of her really like validating that her family is
- 12:30Speaker 2: a great support system for her going through these times
- 12:33Speaker 2: in these trials, that her family really loves her like it,
- 12:36Speaker 2: you know the best. The thing that set up to
- 12:38Speaker 2: me the most was the grandma at the very end
- 12:40Speaker 2: said something to Joey, and I forget the exact wording
- 12:43Speaker 2: that she said, but I was like, that's exactly what
- 12:45Speaker 2: my grandma would say. Like she said like you know,
- 12:48Speaker 2: keep going or do your best or something. I was like,
- 12:50Speaker 2: that sounds like such a good grandma like statement. There.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Yeah, there was just like warm cozy vibes in that room,
- 12:57Speaker 3: and I just really think that, like, her parents were
- 13:01Speaker 3: very likable. Her conversation with her dad was so cute.
- 13:04Speaker 3: What did he say that made us laugh?
- 13:10Speaker 2: He said, so he made He's like, what's the worst
- 13:12Speaker 2: thing that can happen? You lose your hearing?
- 13:14Speaker 3: Yeah? Or yes? Yeah, yes, he was just a dad
- 13:19Speaker 3: being a dad. Like just that was a very authentic moment.
- 13:23Speaker 3: And then and then her mom was very likable and
- 13:29Speaker 3: they and she was also kind of poking fun at
- 13:31Speaker 3: herself for being like I am I am in love
- 13:35Speaker 3: with him and like why is this so hard for me?
- 13:37Speaker 3: And I think our parents were like this is that's
- 13:40Speaker 3: just you? Or like why is it so hard for you?
- 13:44Speaker 3: They were supportive. Again, it was a very supportive vibe
- 13:47Speaker 3: in there. It wasn't like an interrogation, which I just
- 13:49Speaker 3: again really like.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if these hometown dates and I
- 13:53Speaker 2: think we'll see it as time continues on this show
- 13:55Speaker 2: and it's more people watch and they kind of understand
- 13:57Speaker 2: what their kids are getting into. You just don't know
- 14:00Speaker 2: if the interrogation technique is necessarily one that will ever
- 14:03Speaker 2: come back. I'm sure we'll have a family that tries
- 14:07Speaker 2: to throw it out there. I just don't find it helpful.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I don't find it to be a good option for
- 14:11Speaker 2: the people that have already been a part of the show.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I feel like it's not the time or place anymore.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I think afterwards, you know, as you get to know
- 14:18Speaker 2: this couple on your own and you get to see
- 14:21Speaker 2: them live life together, is when you can start asking
- 14:23Speaker 2: those questions. But the hometown dates that get super you know, tough,
- 14:29Speaker 2: kind of just feel awkward to me, and they do
- 14:31Speaker 2: feel misplaced. They tried to set up Maria's hometown as
- 14:35Speaker 2: one of those that was going to be really tough, right.
- 14:36Speaker 2: They played like the old Italian music behind it.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I think the dad's Greek too. I think she's maybe
- 14:43Speaker 3: half Greek, have Italian, but.
- 14:44Speaker 2: It was Italian like it was like Mafia music.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Well yeah, and they had the spaghetti meatballs out on
- 14:49Speaker 3: the table.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like, you know, Italian Greek. I think
- 14:52Speaker 2: she has both in her family. But that I mean
- 14:57Speaker 2: Maria's dad. Yes, he was a wrong figure. He was
- 15:01Speaker 2: not tough. He's maybe intimidating, but you can tell that
- 15:06Speaker 2: that dude just absolutely adores his daughter and he just
- 15:09Speaker 2: wants Joey to know that, yes, she's going to be first,
- 15:13Speaker 2: but there was It was not intimidating.
- 15:15Speaker 3: No, No, that man is a mushball about his daughter.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he really loves there. It was very miserable.
- 15:22Speaker 3: But I will say that on this episode with Maria,
- 15:27Speaker 3: from the moment they were at Niagara Falls to the
- 15:31Speaker 3: ending when he left in the suv, I was like,
- 15:35Speaker 3: it's not there anymore, It's gone. I felt like I
- 15:38Speaker 3: thought that she I thought it was going to be
- 15:41Speaker 3: her leaving.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Did you get this?
- 15:44Speaker 3: He really didn't feel the same. I thought that he
- 15:46Speaker 3: was just like, I'm over this, Like there's too much
- 15:49Speaker 3: up and down, there's to lack too much of a
- 15:52Speaker 3: lack of clarity. And I don't think this should freak
- 15:55Speaker 3: somebody out, but I think it was alarming to him
- 15:57Speaker 3: that she had never taken a guy home. Yeah, twenty nine.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of questions, and he did
- 16:03Speaker 2: act like he had a lot of questions based on that.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I really thought she was going to be around. I
- 16:08Speaker 2: didn't see the relationship progressing from this hometown, but I
- 16:14Speaker 2: really thought she was still, you know, in the top
- 16:17Speaker 2: three for me up until the very last moments the show,
- 16:21Speaker 2: I don't my curiosity comes up, Ashley. Do you think
- 16:24Speaker 2: if she opens up more to Joey at the hometown
- 16:27Speaker 2: his mind is changed going into the rose ceremony.
- 16:30Speaker 3: I don't. I think it was gone before before that
- 16:34Speaker 3: last moment when they were sitting at the bench, and
- 16:36Speaker 3: he was definitely waiting for her to say it, to
- 16:39Speaker 3: say something along the lines of what I'm falling for you,
- 16:41Speaker 3: And of course she said, I choked. I just couldn't
- 16:44Speaker 3: get it out, and I think that.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I can't.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I go back and forth. I think he wanted her
- 16:52Speaker 3: to say it, but I don't think it would have
- 16:55Speaker 3: changed things. It was almost like a test.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, then he didn't want her to say it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe he He definitely didn't want her to say
- 17:03Speaker 3: it when she said it.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Sure, but it's just not fun, Like there is no
- 17:07Speaker 2: way if he his mind was made up in that
- 17:09Speaker 2: moment that he wanted her to express any more emotion,
- 17:12Speaker 2: because it's not an ideal situation when you sit there
- 17:15Speaker 2: and you hear this, this, these words of vulnerability, and
- 17:19Speaker 2: then you know, but you're also going to be going
- 17:20Speaker 2: home this week. And I think in his mind, honestly,
- 17:23Speaker 2: if I was to play psychic. He was going, I'm
- 17:26Speaker 2: glad she didn't say anything.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Are you sure, though, because in his eyes it did say.
- 17:32Speaker 3: His eyes to me said I want you to say it.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I think his eyes are saying, don't say it.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Don't say Because then when she didn't say it, I
- 17:41Speaker 3: thought he seemed disappointed and like almost yeah, almost annoyed.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I think he's probably he might have been annoyed, confused,
- 17:49Speaker 2: exhausted exactly, you know, I mean, I think exhausted. It
- 17:52Speaker 2: would be kind of our our term here as we
- 17:55Speaker 2: enter into the last few weeks of this season, is
- 17:57Speaker 2: he's really tired. We talked about it last week, He's exhaust.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I saw funny Instagram like real or memes about that too.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I was like, oh, this is exactly what Ben was
- 18:06Speaker 3: talking about.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he's tired. And so, you know, any more kind
- 18:11Speaker 2: of pulling at the heartstrings, any more deep conversations. One,
- 18:14Speaker 2: you welcome them, but also they're tiring to you and
- 18:17Speaker 2: you and you're you almost celebrate when people hold on
- 18:20Speaker 2: to whatever it is they need to hold on to,
- 18:22Speaker 2: if you know they're going to be going home, because
- 18:24Speaker 2: it means that you don't have to enter into that
- 18:27Speaker 2: space necessarily, you don't have to respond to anything. You're tired.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah, And I'm also tired that she couldn't say it
- 18:35Speaker 3: because I don't know if she felt it. I think
- 18:38Speaker 3: she liked him. I think she liked him as like
- 18:39Speaker 3: a boyfriend somebody to date. I don't know if she
- 18:43Speaker 3: was in love with them.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be interesting as we continue to get more
- 18:57Speaker 2: conversations from Maria now that she's off the show, kind
- 19:01Speaker 2: of where she sees love existing or if she did
- 19:04Speaker 2: feel that love and she might say she didn't.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Maybe she did at the end, she says it at
- 19:08Speaker 3: the end at the airport hangar.
- 19:10Speaker 2: But it'll be interesting to kind of hear, you know,
- 19:13Speaker 2: if she hasn't brought anybody home and she had a
- 19:16Speaker 2: hard time expressing this Joey, Like what is the hang
- 19:18Speaker 2: up there or and that's not a bad thing. I'm curious,
- 19:20Speaker 2: like what is people's journeys of love or have they
- 19:23Speaker 2: actually found love? And if she looks back on a
- 19:25Speaker 2: relationship with Joey now and she goes, that is a
- 19:27Speaker 2: guy I would want to marry, And so I'm looking
- 19:30Speaker 2: for my next Joey that we've had people come off
- 19:33Speaker 2: of the show saying that before I'm looking for my
- 19:35Speaker 2: next person that was like that person. Maria's interviews are
- 19:39Speaker 2: going to be really fascinating to me. Well, obviously we've
- 19:41Speaker 2: already talked about. The rose ceremony comes up next. Maria
- 19:44Speaker 2: does tell Joey that she is falling for him, that
- 19:48Speaker 2: she's in love with him.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Don't you love the airport hanger moment? This is my
- 19:53Speaker 3: favorite rose ceremony. I love it when they do it.
- 19:55Speaker 3: There so dramia.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It is very dramatic with the big old jets in
- 19:59Speaker 2: the background. Yeah, the big old jets and Maria does
- 20:03Speaker 2: go home. Shocker for me, not as much for Ashley.
- 20:06Speaker 2: So Rachel, Kelsey, A, and Daisy are moving on now
- 20:09Speaker 2: to overnights. They're going to Tulum, Mexico.
- 20:13Speaker 3: How pissed was Rachel when Maria pulled him aside?
- 20:18Speaker 2: Really mad?
- 20:20Speaker 3: And I get it. The week before he pulled her
- 20:23Speaker 3: aside before a rose ceremony. Yeah, and it's like, what
- 20:27Speaker 3: are you gonna say now? You gotta say something now?
- 20:29Speaker 3: Did you have a whole hometown to say it?
- 20:31Speaker 2: I get it, I mean I get it. I also
- 20:35Speaker 2: think I also feel like there is that level of
- 20:39Speaker 2: if you have something to say say it, because you're
- 20:41Speaker 2: gonna gret if you don't.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I get it. But I do think she said it
- 20:45Speaker 3: just in that moment as like a hail Mary. I
- 20:49Speaker 3: don't it was a hail Mary. That's all I have
- 20:52Speaker 3: to say.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, Rachel was not happy. It did show
- 20:56Speaker 2: a different side of Rachel though we haven't seen yet.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah, but I enjoyed it. It was real.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I don't think it's a bad I just think it's
- 21:01Speaker 2: a side we haven't seen. We haven't seen that kind
- 21:04Speaker 2: of that side of Rachel where she is confronting situation.
- 21:08Speaker 2: She didn't really like ever say Maria, that was ridiculous.
- 21:11Speaker 2: How could you do? She was just like, what are
- 21:12Speaker 2: you doing? Stop? Like, stop doing whatever it is you
- 21:16Speaker 2: think you need to do with these ROAs ceremonies. And
- 21:18Speaker 2: I'm assuming at that point too, Rachel was probably wondering
- 21:21Speaker 2: if she was the one going home.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I know she obviously was the sassiest one because I
- 21:25Speaker 3: think she knew that she was.
- 21:26Speaker 1: She was.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Her stomach was enoughs Yeah, yeah, yeah, her stomach was
- 21:31Speaker 2: a notts. Actually we go into overnights now into loom.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Uh for me, it's Daisy and Kelcia. There's really yeah, like,
- 21:42Speaker 2: I'll be shocked if it's anything different than that. I
- 21:45Speaker 2: think the rachel breakup is going to be really emotional,
- 21:48Speaker 2: but I think it's like very clear at this point
- 21:51Speaker 2: who the closest relationships exist with. And I mean it's
- 21:55Speaker 2: really been Daisy and Kelsey a since episode one, Like
- 21:58Speaker 2: if we're we're honest, it hasn't changed things switched. There
- 22:01Speaker 2: hasn't many signs signals, and at this point in the season,
- 22:05Speaker 2: it's there's no like hidden traps outside of one of
- 22:11Speaker 2: these women not fully falling for him and leaving him
- 22:13Speaker 2: at the altar, which is his biggest concern and which.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Has been played up all season long as if it'll happen,
- 22:19Speaker 3: And there's a teaser in that scene to the next
- 22:22Speaker 3: episode that seem like could it be happening because somebody
- 22:26Speaker 3: left a note on his door that said, we need
- 22:28Speaker 3: to talk.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Here's the one thing about Joey. I don't understand why
- 22:31Speaker 2: he hasn't done it yet. I think he's been a
- 22:34Speaker 2: fantastic Bachelors that's not a shock. I don't know why
- 22:39Speaker 2: when he's with these women in these moments where they're
- 22:41Speaker 2: expressing their feelings for each other, why he doesn't say hey,
- 22:44Speaker 2: I mean he had the space for it. You know,
- 22:47Speaker 2: he mentions all of them now know his his biggest
- 22:51Speaker 2: fears that he'll be left. That's the alter why he
- 22:54Speaker 2: doesn't ask the question to them, Hey, if it is
- 22:56Speaker 2: you at the end, would like where would you stand?
- 22:59Speaker 2: Like like would you say yes to this? And he
- 23:03Speaker 2: doesn't ask that question at least we haven't seen it yet,
- 23:05Speaker 2: but I think it would give him some reassurance that no,
- 23:08Speaker 2: these women aren't leaving him.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Maybe he'll do it now, Maybe he'll do it in
- 23:14Speaker 3: the fantasy suites.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Maybe you should he should do it all you and Stu, Well,
- 23:19Speaker 2: the mics are off and.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and then we always have these blank spaces after
- 23:25Speaker 3: Fantasy Suite. It's like what was said in there that
- 23:27Speaker 3: didn't make any sense to us audience members. Yeah, speaking
- 23:31Speaker 3: of moments that didn't make sense to audience members, and
- 23:33Speaker 3: the Leslie switch, we all remember Leslie going into the
- 23:37Speaker 3: Fantasy suite as like Gary's rount runner. Well, she's back
- 23:40Speaker 3: and she seems to be mentoring Kelsey. And we have
- 23:43Speaker 3: a couple of the other Golden ladies coming back to
- 23:45Speaker 3: you know, give advice to the girls they are milking
- 23:47Speaker 3: the Golden Bachelor cast as much as they possibly can,
- 23:51Speaker 3: and it's it's very cute. So we shall see how
- 23:55Speaker 3: next week unfolds. You guys know, this is like my
- 23:58Speaker 3: very favorite part of this Hometown's and on so so good.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I can't wait for the drama.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Uh huh. I did stop in and see Joey this
- 24:07Speaker 2: week during the filming of this season.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Oh you mean this coming week? You was?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, for hometown week. I was there to talk to week.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Oh, you were at hometown week. You were supposed to
- 24:19Speaker 3: be seen before the airport hangar.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but so I did get a little sneak peek
- 24:25Speaker 2: into where his mind was at, into kind of what
- 24:28Speaker 2: he was thinking. I will say this, at that point
- 24:31Speaker 2: in time, I left that conversation knowing he was going
- 24:33Speaker 2: to be a great bachelor, also knowing that this has
- 24:35Speaker 2: been really hard for him emotionally, and very curious to
- 24:39Speaker 2: see how it ends up.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Well, he had to tell you that there was did
- 24:46Speaker 3: he give you names? Did you did? Did you leave
- 24:48Speaker 3: knowing in your mind not because he actually said somebody's name?
- 24:52Speaker 3: Did you leave in your mind knowing he was going
- 24:54Speaker 3: to pick.
- 24:55Speaker 2: At the end? No, this this week, Yes, it was
- 24:59Speaker 2: a shock to me what happened.
- 25:02Speaker 3: At the end of this past episode, like as in
- 25:04Speaker 3: like hometown episodes, you were shocked? Did you thought he
- 25:07Speaker 3: was going to keep Maria around?
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:10Speaker 3: Interesting?
- 25:12Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 25:14Speaker 3: That's so interesting.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm really terrible television because I've done three
- 25:20Speaker 2: different filmings with the show now, none of No. Four,
- 25:23Speaker 2: and none of them have aired. I am a dud,
- 25:26Speaker 2: like they bring me in too. Literally, I don't know
- 25:28Speaker 2: what my role is there to fill space, to like
- 25:31Speaker 2: do entertainment. I don't know what it is. But I
- 25:37Speaker 2: watch and I go I think this is when I
- 25:38Speaker 2: was there? Oh maybe not? Then why this?
- 25:42Speaker 3: Obviously obviously you're fantastic TV, but this has happened a
- 25:46Speaker 3: lot in the past year for you, and you take
- 25:49Speaker 3: time and you fly to La for you stay overnight
- 25:51Speaker 3: for two nights, and then.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, for Joey, I would do it. I'm happy. I
- 25:55Speaker 2: was happy to do it. For Gary, happy to do it.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Not even a problem, not even an issue. I was
- 26:01Speaker 2: happy to do it. I still am. I look at
- 26:03Speaker 2: it and go, hey, I don't you know what. Honestly
- 26:05Speaker 2: at this point it's not that big a deal. But
- 26:10Speaker 2: I will say I left that conversation going, this is
- 26:13Speaker 2: gonna be a good season, and it has been. And
- 26:15Speaker 2: we'll be back next week breaking down another episode uh
- 26:19Speaker 2: Bachelor Fantasy suitets. Next week, we'll be breaking it down
- 26:23Speaker 2: right here on the listening to this podcast. So until
- 26:25Speaker 2: next time, I've been Ben, I've Been Ashley.
