- 0:01With its focus on transformation of body, life and mind through
- 0:05the descent, development and expression of the next term in
- 0:10the evolution of consciousness, the Integral Yoga sets a
- 0:14different aim than other paths of yoga, which tend to focus on
- 0:18individual liberation, salvation or transcendence.
- 0:23As a result, the sadhana, the practice of the Integral Yoga,
- 0:28takes on a different form than other paths of yoga.
- 0:32The emphasis is not to immediately gather any kind of
- 0:36spiritual experiences or powers, nor is it to gain the mastery of
- 0:41the body through the practice of Hatha yoga, nor pursue the
- 0:45rising of the serpent power coiled at the base of the spine,
- 0:49or opening of the various chakras and experiencing the
- 0:52states of consciousness that come with the opening of each of
- 0:56these chakras. Rather, the emphasis is on
- 1:00creating the appropriate foundation for the later steps
- 1:04to take place securely, which implies tackling the inability
- 1:08of the mind and the vital nature to attain calm and peace, and to
- 1:14build that power to hold whatever forces manifest
- 1:18thereafter without spilling them.
- 1:21Srioro Bindo describes the unique nature of the Sadhna as
- 1:25follows. Srioro Bindu observes quote.
- 1:30Remember first, that an inner quietude caused by the
- 1:34purification of the restless mind and vital, is the first
- 1:38condition of a secure Sadhna. Remember, next, that to feel the
- 1:43Mother's presence while in external action is already a
- 1:46great step, and one that cannot be attained without a
- 1:50considerable inner progress. Probably what you feel you need
- 1:55so much but cannot define is a constant and vivid sense of the
- 2:01Mother's force working in you, descending from above and taking
- 2:05possession of the different planes of your being.
- 2:09That is often a prior condition for the twofold movement of
- 2:13ascent and descent. It will surely come in time.
- 2:17These things can take a long time to begin visibly,
- 2:21especially when the mind is accustomed to be very active and
- 2:26has not the habit of mental silence.
- 2:29When that veiling activity is there.
- 2:32Much work has to be carried on behind the mobile screen of the
- 2:36mind and the sadak thinks nothing is happening when really
- 2:41much preparation is being done. If you want a more swift and
- 2:46visible progress, it can only be by bringing your psychic to the
- 2:51front through a constant self offering.
- 2:54Aspire intensely but without impatience.
