- 0:00I don't know why but it's like I'm I'm.
- 0:15This entire military is 1 cohesive dedicated force.
- 0:20And the threats to our nations, they don't sleep.
- 0:24They're watching our every move. Iran, Russia, China, North
- 0:29Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda, they may be watching this right now.
- 0:37The military should not be mistaken for our cable news dad
- 0:40test show. We don't care what you look
- 0:42like. We don't care who you voted for,
- 0:46who you worship, what you worship, who you love.
- 0:49It doesn't matter if your dad left you millions when he died
- 0:52or if you knew who your father was.
- 0:53You have to we will not be intimidated.
- 1:06We will not back down. We don't want war.
- 1:12But if you want war with the United States of America,
- 1:14there's one thing I can promise you.

- 2:10You're talking around the issues.
- 2:12We need answers and that's what we want.
- 2:13We want to be informed. Client.
- 2:18Because the thing about client is once you get your VA rating,
- 2:21it doesn't matter what state you go to.

- 2:30Move. Since 2016.
- 2:37She's definitely going to recover from this injury injury
- 2:40well. Yes, she will.
- 2:43All right, well, let's head on over to Texas.
- 2:45You. Haven't seen it yet.
- 2:51Well, they supported us. Now it's our turn to support

- 3:54On be. Square, I am 8 and you know what
- 3:58time it is. We're bringing you the voice of
- 4:00the heat, the real talk. Today's show is packed.
- 4:05We've got. Community Mail, a wild WT said.
- 4:09But I'm like dropping truth bomb and a spy interview.
- 4:11You'll want to hear twice, maybe 3 times.
- 4:15And plus and of course, is that every episode we honor our
- 4:20heroes in the tribute of the troupe.
- 4:21And of course, we'll end with some real talk and our final
- 4:25thoughts for today's mail call. You went on a trip.
- 4:30Yeah, I did. I went on a little excursion.
- 4:33I went to Breckenridge for a week by myself.
- 4:36You know, it's getting, I'm trying to take it personal.
- 4:38Everywhere I go, a thing I want to do, I'm going by myself.
- 4:42I don't mind going by myself. You know, H and I talked about
- 4:44this, you know, it's kind of nice to go by yourself because
- 4:46you have no, no one to answer to.
- 4:47You kind of do your own thing, but.
- 4:49Sometimes it gets lonely. No one wants to hang out with
- 4:52me. Actually, my mom, my wife and my
- 4:54granddaughter did come up for one day and hang out and and
- 4:57that in and of itself was a kind of a fiasco.
- 4:59You know, the little they call it a review, they're trying to
- 5:03get you to buy more crap. Yeah.
- 5:05So your spouse has to be there for that.
- 5:08So the only reason why she came up is because they gave me two
- 5:10free rounds of golf. So I'm like, and those rounds
- 5:12are like $350.00 each. So I was like, I'm not missing
- 5:15that on that. But yeah, it was a fiasco.
- 5:17Those people just did not take no for an answer, but had a
- 5:20great time. The snow was, you know, the snow
- 5:22at spring skiing. I'm not a huge spring skiing
- 5:25fan, but we had snow, a good snowstorm one day.
- 5:29So it's about 3 days out of the seven days was pretty good.
- 5:33But yeah, got my days in, met some, made some new friends that
- 5:39tried out my bike and I tried out a skate ski.
- 5:41It's like a ski or skate, that's the matter on the ski.
- 5:45So it was fun, had a good time and got in about 40 days this
- 5:50year so. Sweet.
- 5:54So that is our that's our TikTok.
- 5:57So anytime you share the TikTok or any time that you donate like
- 6:04a a rose that farts, really, Yeah, on TikTok and it will let
- 6:11us know like, you know, something happened.
- 6:13That reminded me of the old Dukes of Hazard.
- 6:15Yeah, yeah. And on TikTok, if you have a
- 6:18question or something, it will ask us now.
- 6:21By the way, good morning, Charles.
- 6:23Good morning, Charles. Good morning, Amber.
- 6:26Good morning, Amber. Me and you, me and Amber's been
- 6:29working their ass out of the last three weeks.
- 6:31We we've, we've got a we've got 7 new shows that are coming.
- 6:35Wow. 7 new shows like we had one show that left.
- 6:41I think she's on. A good morning.
- 6:43Good morning. We're on to bigger and better
- 6:45things. But you know, just a quick shout
- 6:49out to Audrey for Gunsling Tavern.
- 6:52I think she got picked up by somebody.
- 6:55So when she left it, it opened up another slot for the the Aon
- 7:00life, the living the AI life or something like that.
- 7:05Interesting that, that, that that's intriguing.
- 7:07Yeah, I went to the Small Business Summit this last couple
- 7:11days and they had a lot of technical difficulties, but it
- 7:14was pretty interesting and you know, I was sharing with H that
- 7:19the sound effects pretty. Cool.
- 7:21Yeah. So that sound effect right
- 7:22there, that means somebody gave us something other than a rose
- 7:26because a rose is a fart. Oh, OK, so whoever wants to do
- 7:30the 46 farts is hilarious. You make the Rose a fart.
- 7:35I did your your mic's not on the.
- 7:39Uh oh, you guys. Just keep going then, yeah?
- 7:44So, but yeah, the summit was pretty interesting.
- 7:47They had a lot of technical difficulties, but a lot of the
- 7:50AI stuff I I was telling H and he's like, dude, I taught you
- 7:54that last month. And I'm like, I know, I know, I
- 7:57know, but it was good for me. I.
- 7:59I learned some good. Stuff I wish it was not so many
- 8:01issues I couldn't. Even you know.
- 8:03Attend some of the stuff on the second day because they I
- 8:05couldn't I couldn't connect. So, and you know, I'm when, when
- 8:10I, when I, when I, when, when he told me that he was taking that
- 8:14class, I went and I said, well, you know, we, we went over that,
- 8:17you know, last week. I shouldn't have did that
- 8:20because it's it seems like whenever and I think it's like a
- 8:24back to basic kind of thing. Whenever, whenever you do one of
- 8:29those things, you know, you think you know everything kind
- 8:32of thing and then you get there. You always do learn something,
- 8:35even if it's just one thing or two things.
- 8:39You you always learn something like I didn't know that you
- 8:42cannot copyright any images that you do on like ChatGPT.
- 8:49But that's because when you like when my wife is doing the
- 8:53coloring book and we submitted to Amazon and and so it wasn't
- 8:57copyright. Exciting news, by the way.
- 8:59Yep. And ChatGPT basically said that
- 9:04you don't have to copyright it if it's done by ChatGPT because
- 9:08it has a time stamp when it was created, when it was done.
- 9:12And then that's that's better than any copyright.
- 9:16And I didn't realize that. I don't know that goes with
- 9:19everything. Also, I mean, ChatGPT like,
- 9:22borrows from real artwork to help create the images that it
- 9:25makes. Yeah.
- 9:26So it's already using other people's artwork to help you
- 9:32make that image. Yeah, part of the reason you
- 9:34can't copyright it. Well, no, it just, it just said
- 9:37that for copyright, all you have to do is put ChatGPT and bam,
- 9:41it's, it's it's done. So I don't know.
- 9:46But yeah, my wife has created three coloring books.
- 9:51That's. Awesome man that is so cool.
- 9:53I I need to get on there and order some of those books.
- 9:55Yeah. So the the first one is getting
- 9:59Ava loan from home. Ava loan home.
- 10:02It's a it's a coloring book cartoon of that.
- 10:05Man, dude, that is, I mean that what a what a novel concept.
- 10:08Because I mean, yeah, you're getting entertained.
- 10:11You're you're, you're, you're, you're.
- 10:13But you're learning something at the same time.
- 10:14Right, So cool, right? Like I said, the kids probably
- 10:17don't understand the writing, but your child?
- 10:19Is going to teach you how to kill.
- 10:24Well, you know, I was thinking, you know, 2 kill two birds with
- 10:27one stone. You know, if we give them good
- 10:29information, you know, not only can they like look at it because
- 10:34I mean, the kids not going to be able to read this.
- 10:36Shit. Congratulations, Cassie.
- 10:38Yes, exactly, Cassie. Kudos to.
- 10:41Cassie But it's just, it's just been, it's been fanatic.
- 10:46I did one on phenomenal, yeah, phenomenal.
- 10:50I did also one with going and getting your DH 214 submitted to
- 10:55VS OS and stuff like that. You know, the, the, the, the art
- 10:58in that is, you know, talking about, you know, you just don't
- 11:02want to go to any VSO. You know, when you go to these
- 11:05different places, it's kind of like car shopping, OK, when you
- 11:08go to the car shop, you don't want to just grab any VSO.
- 11:12You want to make sure to look and see on the wall, does he
- 11:15have a bunch of thank you letters?
- 11:17Does he have a bunch of certificates?
- 11:19You know, because if he doesn't have very many certificates and
- 11:23not very many thank you letters and chances are.
- 11:27He's crappy. Well, I want to say he's crappy.
- 11:29He's not as invested as some other people are.
- 11:33Everybody are different and they're they're and you.
- 11:35Know, and these folks, they work hard and, and our hats off to
- 11:39him. But you're right.
- 11:39I, I'm the same way I, I have to vet them like anyone else.
- 11:44And, and when I find someone I really like, I tell the world
- 11:48cause those, you know, those people like our lovely Lisa that
- 11:52comes on a quarterly. What did you call it?
- 11:55It came with a new name. VA benefits No.
- 12:00I don't. Know you don't remember?
- 12:02Anyway, I have the bulldog over there at the regional office.
- 12:05You know those guys, those gals that you know, when you find
- 12:08someone that really knows their stuff and they really connect
- 12:12with you because it is a connection.
- 12:13When you have a good connection with somebody and they speak
- 12:16your language and they get your needs met, you want to stick
- 12:19with that person. You really do.
- 12:21I mean, I'm telling you 'cause just like anything, there's
- 12:25people that are very effective at the jobs and then there's
- 12:26people that maybe aren't so effective.
- 12:28So, you know, you have to find what works for you.
- 12:33And it's kind of like an interview.
- 12:36I mean, a lot of people when they go to the doctor, they
- 12:38don't just take whoever they vet these people and they right.
- 12:41They make. Sure, it's a good fit and they
- 12:43make sure that it's the person that they want to for their
- 12:45care. So I look at it the same way.
- 12:49You know, and I agree with you and you're talking about your
- 12:55your event. So we're going to do a like a
- 12:59top Golf like a station thing here.
- 13:04So we're going to. Do on the 27th of May we're
- 13:06going to do a little less the fellas here in the studio, we're
- 13:11going to do a little top Golf event over at the Centennial
- 13:15location. You can bring a significant out
- 13:18if you guys want. You guys are responsible for all
- 13:21our liquor bills though, but. But yeah.
- 13:23We'll we'll go there have you're not having any.
- 13:26So that makes sense. That's.
- 13:28Fair, that's why, he says. That well, I don't want to make
- 13:31you pay for anything. You're not even going to
- 13:33partake. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:34Stuff yeah. So but yeah, just kind of a, you
- 13:40know, a thank you, a camaraderie type event and and and then kind
- 13:46of built. We talked about it last season
- 13:47about getting out and playing a little golf.
- 13:49We never did. So this would kind of be an
- 13:51icebreaker for us to try to figure out at least get out a
- 13:55couple times this year. There's a nice.
- 13:58Little Park through over here at Harvard Gulch.
- 14:00It's not too far from here. That'd probably be a good place
- 14:02to start, HC said. He's played one a couple times,
- 14:06maybe once. It's like one time I was the
- 14:09rookies over here. Yeah, I I think I was in middle
- 14:12school when I played Wow, it's been a while.
- 14:15And then Cayman's, he's a weird gint.
- 14:17So never played, never played. Only putt putt, Yeah, only putt
- 14:21putt golf. I mean, I I used to go crazy on
- 14:24the the Wii Sports golf man. I was Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 14:28was, I was a demon on that low key.
- 14:30But we're not going to have anything that's going to show us
- 14:34where exactly the wind is blowing and the.
- 14:37Speed. Of the rain and everything.
- 14:38The back spin on the ball and the RPM your swing and yeah.
- 14:43Well, good data. Before we go on our first break,
- 14:47I did want to cover that. You know, we have a lot of shit
- 14:51on a lot. Of events coming up this June.
- 14:54June 14th, the 3rd annual ML Gratitude Ride.
- 14:58You know, it's $25 a person, all right, so to say it's $25
- 15:04donation, you know, for the person, you know, they're going
- 15:07to give a motorcycle away. And she just won an award of for
- 15:14I forget what the award is called, but she she just won an
- 15:17award for all the work that she does with MO gratitude.
- 15:20So we want to say congratulations to Jim on that.
- 15:24And then also, you know, July 4th skydiving.
- 15:28OK. Yes, that's in the.
- 15:29Works. That's.
- 15:29That's in the works. You know, also in in the works
- 15:34is a is a a fishing trip on a canoe with Peyton Manning.
- 15:40But you know, if if, if you if you want to go preferably
- 15:45somebody that knows Peyton Manning kind of thing.
- 15:47All right, the July 12th, I thought.
- 15:50You said that was a joke. Yeah, I thought you said I.
- 15:52Already won. The picture, yeah, it was a
- 15:57joke, yeah. July 12th car show, Douglas
- 16:00County Fairground. We'll be doing a remote from
- 16:03there. July 19th Car show, September.

- 16:09Go Yeah, September 5th. I've never forgot all about that
- 16:13yes, thank you Amber. That must have been from Amber.
- 16:16She's going to be doing she's going to be doing a remote here
- 16:20in Denver with like the you know how they have Comic Con.
- 16:23We got something that has to do with like mysterious or.
- 16:26Crime Con. Yeah, Crime con MVR will be
- 16:30there. Everybody come get a picture.
- 16:31With your favorite serial killer caveman, I'll be there.
- 16:41Live. Exciting autograph.
- 16:43Also the other news stories that are they're going up that we'll
- 16:50cover real quick before we go to break the Colorado 2025
- 16:56legislation that it wrapped up says the included with
- 17:00significant themes including House affordability, climate
- 17:03policy, education reform and lawmakers address challenges in
- 17:08the balancing group and environmental social concern the
- 17:13what happened at the Centennial Airport car chase.
- 17:16Ends in arrest 2 individuals were taken into custody
- 17:19following a high speed chase that culminated in a crash at
- 17:22Centennial Airport. Authorities are investigating
- 17:25the incident, which caused temporary disruptions in the
- 17:28area. And of course, if you heard
- 17:31about an Aurora school lockdown, there was a shooting that
- 17:35occurred. They don't have much information
- 17:39other than this incident happened at Aurora E Middle
- 17:42School. Everything's all clear and
- 17:44stuff. But you know, hey, good, good
- 17:47and motivational training for, you know, the real thing.
- 17:51You know, at least they got some training in there.
- 17:53Well, and. You know, you forgot to mention
- 17:55our buddy bowl. Oh yes. 20th of.
- 17:57September at Hidden Lake High School, yes.
- 18:00So if I'm excited for that, yeah.
- 18:02Work, work. Start getting your teams
- 18:04together. Yeah, it's going to be a great
- 18:05day. Start spreading the word.
- 18:08We're going to get some play by play and some analysis.
- 18:12Yeah. We we also need to get porta
- 18:15potties. But if we don't have porta
- 18:18potties, that's OK. Our Plan B is the outside
- 18:22latrines that we that we purchased.
- 18:26Well, I. Mean we're we're throwing it out
- 18:28there if somebody wants to like donate or or or, you know, I
- 18:32think we're coordinated yeah I. Agree.
- 18:34That's the only way that they're donating, yeah.
- 18:37'Cause. The lady's not going to come
- 18:39out, so no. No, I did talk to the the
- 18:43women's professional team here in Colorado, the Denver Outlaws.
- 18:49I believe it is. I'm I'm still waiting on to work
- 18:53from them. Wasn't there a?
- 18:55Wasn't there a yeah, there's arena football team called,
- 18:57Yeah, the Outlaws in there, the Colorado Spartans?
- 19:00Yeah, but there was another team called the Outlaws there, right?
- 19:02It was the Outlaws at 1st and then that league, I don't know
- 19:07what happened to it, but in my I think it was COVID.
- 19:10I is when they they ended. Now it's now it's the Arena
- 19:15Football League. OK, But we have the Spartans,
- 19:17though. They're still they're still
- 19:19playing Sweet. All right.
- 19:21Well, was she at that time? Yeah.
- 19:23Yeah, so when we come back Caveman and HG, they took care
- 19:30of the what does and the drop the mics today, so.
- 19:35Whatever you do, give us a. Tease cave ma'am so our.
- 19:38Dropping the mic. Found an animal may have gotten
- 19:43his hands on the drug paraphernalia and our dropping
- 19:48the mic segment has got to be the most Italian video on.
- 19:51The Internet. So it will be.
- 19:53Right there too. Military broadcast radio, the
- 22:45station that's giving veterans a voice.
- 22:47Find us on the web at MB Radio. Opinions expressed in this
- 22:53program are those of the speakers and do not necessarily
- 22:58reflect the views or positions of any entities they represent.
- 23:03All right. Welcome back, ladies and
- 23:05gentlemen, welcome back. Ladies and gentlemen, if you
- 23:09just joining us, welcome to the station.
- 23:12Let let's our veterans be heard. You're listening to MBR and
- 23:16today on the rebel experience, you know, we didn't mention
- 23:20earlier, but you know, our interview of the week will be
- 23:23having a one of one of I think this is like only the second
- 23:27first responder that we've had in the on the there you go some
- 23:32roses. They're they're our.
- 23:37Farts do smell like roses, yes. Will let.
- 23:42Anybody tell you otherwise? Yes, fart train.
- 23:45That was the fart train there buddy.
- 23:47So. Cheeks top and.
- 23:49Bottom. So we got.
- 23:52More we have we will have more trending news.
- 23:56We I forget dude, we get we got the sports and stuff from
- 24:00caveman and then didn't we? Yeah, you ain't said we haven't.
- 24:04Talked about that. No sports.
- 24:06Yeah. We got sad news to break out
- 24:08everybody because the ABS are eliminated, Yeah.
- 24:11Yeah, that's. Been eliminated.
- 24:13My bad. That's pretty.
- 24:15Good timing right there. Yeah, that was pretty.
- 24:19Good timing. OK, So what is your?
- 24:23What's your thoughts the. ABS.
- 24:25Should have swept them. Dude they choked.
- 24:27Yeah they choked that series so hard.
- 24:29Choked 3 games in that series. Well, and you know, earlier this
- 24:35week we found out that now that the ABS were out, we thought
- 24:41that they was going to take the ABS flags out of downtown and
- 24:44put like the Nuggets and stuff on Laramie.
- 24:46Square. Yeah.
- 24:48You know where they usually have the Colorado flags all down the
- 24:50street. There's a bunch of bars and
- 24:52stuff, right, Right. No cars, just walking and stuff.
- 24:55Yeah, they have. They had a bunch of ABS flags.
- 24:58The game seven in the first round was on the same night,
- 25:01yes. So they had all all ABS stuff,
- 25:04the ABS lost and the Nuggets won, and they just put Colorado
- 25:08flags back up and there's no Nuggets flags on Laramie Square.
- 25:12Wow. How about that so we know what
- 25:14kind of fans they are? That has That has to be a
- 25:18political move though. That has to be, you know, maybe
- 25:21the maybe the coach pissed off Paul.
- 25:25It was it. Was Malone.
- 25:27Before. They fired, yeah, maybe they're
- 25:28big Malone fans. And I just can't see it being
- 25:31something from the coach. Like it would have to be an
- 25:33owner thing because the owner is going to play the biggest, he'll
- 25:38have the most impact on the city, you know?
- 25:41But Crocky owns both the Ads and the Nuggets, so I don't.
- 25:45I've always. I've always kind of thought he
- 25:46kind of favors the ABS a little bit.
- 25:49Can't. I can't lie.
- 25:50I can't. Lie.
- 25:51Well, I mean, especially if they're hockey fans more than
- 25:55they're basketball fans. I could see that, you know.
- 25:59And I mean, my opinion means nothing, but I'm, I've always
- 26:04been partial to the ABS myself. You know, I'm just, I'm just
- 26:07better. I I enjoy watching hockey more
- 26:10than I do basketball. So you know I'm a huge Nuggets
- 26:14fan but love my ABS, right? So there is.
- 26:19That all we got, all we got left the our only hope for a
- 26:23championship left this calendar year is the Denver Nuggets.
- 26:26Yes. Oh yeah?
- 26:27Well, that's that's true. Winning.
- 26:29Anything there's 6 and 30. Rockies, I think, are on pace to
- 26:33win 24 games, which would be by far the worst season we've ever
- 26:42seen from a pro baseball team. Yeah, it's like less.
- 26:45I mean, they are almost less than 10% of they're reaching new
- 26:49levels. And what's the name of the?
- 26:51What's the name of the owner of that?
- 26:54Team. The the Rockies.
- 26:56Let me look, Mumford. Mumford.
- 26:59Mumford. Yeah, Mumford.
- 27:01How come he's. What is up the Mumford brothers?
- 27:05Honestly. Like.
- 27:09I don't. Even really know they just don't
- 27:11spend their money in the offseason on like players or
- 27:14like to make a big signing. Yeah, I.
- 27:16There's no salary. Cap you can you could pay for
- 27:18whoever you want owners, these guys are kind of broke.
- 27:21That's another huge problem. Very true.
- 27:24Like I don't even think their net worth is is a billion, which
- 27:27I mean, like the Dodgers and like Mets line up are like a
- 27:31billion dollars, like just what they're paying the players.
- 27:35That's not even like the net worth of the team and what
- 27:37they're worth. So yeah, we just need new owners
- 27:42and it like it, But I don't these guys just don't want to.
- 27:47They just don't seem to want to sell the team because.
- 27:50They're. Not they're not making money off
- 27:51of the product, the baseball product that's put off the
- 27:54field. They're making money off of like
- 27:56beer sales and people coming to hang on because.
- 27:58It's a stadium. In a great location with the
- 28:02great view, you know, in a city that has really beautiful summer
- 28:06days. That's why it doesn't make sense
- 28:09that we don't have money because like people still go, right?
- 28:11Like they still, we can fill, we can make a big, we can make a
- 28:15big signing in the offseason. They just don't, we just don't
- 28:19like the Rockies got the colors too.
- 28:21So they they do well on like merchandise sales.
- 28:24Like what team is purple? That's such a cool unique like
- 28:28team color. Other than the Lakers, there's
- 28:31not a lot of what team has what team has Dinger?
- 28:33I mean, come on. Oh yeah, shout out to Dinger.
- 28:36Like we got one of the feather purple color schemes because
- 28:38it's like purple with like a black and a white and it to
- 28:42match the mountains and the color of our skyline.
- 28:45It's still has like hints at the city.
- 28:48It's a nice that is a nice team and like you said, beautiful
- 28:52venue. I mean just the, you know, the
- 28:53right mountains on the. Background dude if.
- 28:55That if they had like a halfway decent baseball team, not even
- 28:59like good, just like average, because like they've just been,
- 29:03they don't even have to be that good.
- 29:04Make the playoffs. They've been do these points for
- 29:07well, you know, five years. The one feather in your cap is
- 29:10is if you want a a family excursion, it's really cheap to
- 29:14close. That is that is always good
- 29:17thing. It's like these tickets going to
- 29:19a Rockies game. It's like more of like a yeah,
- 29:21way to like go hang out with your family or catch up with
- 29:24like a friend or something. Yeah.
- 29:26You're kind of just going there to have like a setting with food
- 29:29and drinks. Yeah.
- 29:31And some entertainment that you can kind of pay attention to.
- 29:34Kind of not a good play once in a while if you're not a if
- 29:37you're not a Rockies, you're about.
- 29:39Well, I'm from. What I understand, like the
- 29:41Rockies are now, they're like the perfect place to to hold a
- 29:45business meeting. Oh yeah.
- 29:47Oh, I'm sure business deals get down there all the.
- 29:50Time, yeah. It has like a nice party deck
- 29:53that they just added after last season, the season before 2324,
- 29:59there was a party deck they added.
- 30:01So there's like just so much things you can do there.
- 30:04There's they have like a top golf simulator in a baseball
- 30:08stadium. It's like baseball's almost
- 30:10secondary to like what goes what you're doing it.
- 30:14It really is. It really is.
- 30:15It's kind of, there's so much going on, forget.
- 30:17It's kind of like going to Indy 500 or one of the big races, you
- 30:20know, Daytona. You forget why you're there.
- 30:24So much going. On with two drumsticks and a
- 30:26giant hat and you're walking around just spent all your check
- 30:30on YouTube. It's like a it's like a carnival
- 30:33with like a sporting event also happening.
- 30:35Exactly. You can go check out, you know,
- 30:38sideshow Bob's there. Yeah, let's pop in for for an
- 30:42ending YouTube. OK well, that was nice.
- 30:44Let's go through the merry go round now, like well before.
- 30:47Before we get derailed totally let is let's let's hit that.
- 30:51What the segment clip? They're cool.
- 30:53Tats. Man, oh for.
- 30:55Real thank you bro. You see the cobra?
- 30:56And what is this 10? This.
- 30:59That's my credo. No regrets.
- 31:03You have no regrets, Dad. No.
- 31:05Like not even a single letter. No way.
- 31:07Not me. I love him.
- 31:10I think he's great. I think he's a.
- 31:11Real winner Casey, if I were you, I wouldn't use protection.
- 31:17Oh. Hey, come here.
- 31:22Hello. The raccoon has a her meth pipe
- 31:26as what? Oh my.
- 31:28God, her meth pipe. He's playing.
- 31:30With the meth pipe right now, no, don't reach for it.
- 31:33That's evidence now I don't want.
- 31:35Him to have well I'm. That's why I'm going to do it,
- 31:38hey. Buddy, it's OK.
- 31:42OK, you're on. He'll be here in 2 minutes.
- 31:44I'm right across from my heart, yeah.
- 31:48This is what she's smoking meth in OK.
- 31:52The. Raccoon play with her meth pipe.
- 31:58All right. Oh, there's no He's trying to
- 32:00smoke. It all right.
- 32:03There's no way. All right.
- 32:07All right, enough fun and games holy.
- 32:14Hell. Dude, what happened to Rocket
- 32:19Man? Ever since he got kicked off the
- 32:21guardians of the guy, he's really straight down.
- 32:26He found himself man. He was saving.
- 32:30The universe. Now he's smoking nothing.
- 32:32Springfield, OH. It's his.
- 32:36Own meth lab hell like. That the cop that was making
- 32:40those remarks, it sounded like he was a kindergarten.
- 32:42Oh, he's funny too. He was, really.
- 32:46Amused by. That's what I got from that.
- 32:49Like tell me that that you don't get into your job without
- 32:53telling me that you don't get into your job.
- 32:56He could have. Taken it a little more
- 32:58seriously. That's also like shows you how
- 33:00intelligent raccoons are. I mean that thing is.
- 33:03I didn't go like that. You just.
- 33:05Saw. Saw them do it, probably.
- 33:06That's a pet rack. Yeah.
- 33:07Yeah. They're like monkeys.
- 33:10You got a poseable? That's pretty smart, yeah.
- 33:12That is the reason why you keep your car somewhat clean,
- 33:15everybody. Somewhat.
- 33:17Clean. Yeah, somewhat.
- 33:18Clean well. Yeah, I don't know if you could.
- 33:20Really see it in that video, but the passenger side, the window
- 33:23just sounds like it's gone and there's just like a picket.
- 33:26Fence it was like. A NASCAR freaking like, yeah, it
- 33:28was like a cage or something. I actually, I saw a follow up to
- 33:32that. The two officers there was
- 33:33because there was actually two of them involved in the stop and
- 33:36they were trying to give a press conference.
- 33:38And those guys, they kept pausing and they were doing so
- 33:41many like uhs and umms just like trying to keep their composure
- 33:46and like in a serious manner described in other words.
- 33:48They sounded like us on a Wednesday.
- 33:52They just could. They were trying so hard to keep
- 33:55it together. And so it was just.
- 33:57Like the slowest paced story because he's like so when I saw
- 34:01the raccoon pull something out of the bag lot like long pause
- 34:06and it was it was the nothing pipe use the smoke
- 34:09methamphetamine like he's trying.
- 34:12It's a. Very comical situation, like, I
- 34:14don't know, well, we all need a little levity.
- 34:17So it kind of broke up the monotony for you guys and the
- 34:20stress of the day. Yeah, well, I mean, which one
- 34:24was bad? This one or the one that the the
- 34:27TikTok traffic stop where they, they, the woman called the
- 34:31police because the they, they, they took her drugs.
- 34:37Do you remember? That one, you don't remember
- 34:39that TikTok. OK, all right, hey, so viral
- 34:44clip of that week. That is definitely a little
- 34:48humorous. Stuff like that.
- 34:51Today's winner, Florida man, a lawn chair and a 27 helium
- 34:57balloons. Can't make this shit up.
- 34:59And then, yeah, I don't know if I was supposed to read that or
- 35:03not, but you know, I'm doing the Biden so.
- 35:08What? What do you?
- 35:10Before we leave the Nuggets, do you guys think they're do you
- 35:16think they can make it past this past round?
- 35:18You're all. Over the place today.
- 35:20Yeah. You know.
- 35:22The the we went on a whole OK CS number one seed.
- 35:25So I don't know dude, I don't think it's the best team in the
- 35:28league. Yeah, there's a chance.
- 35:30Honestly, I don't want it to happen.
- 35:32There's a chance they win the next three games on us and just
- 35:35go to the Western Conference finals.
- 35:37That's the best team in the league there.
- 35:39The thing is is I think you know they maybe that game one got
- 35:43away from them because they have been sitting so long right.
- 35:46They were waiting for us to go to the game seven with the
- 35:48freaking Clippers. So now it's like.
- 35:51Yeah, I. Mean we'll we'll see because
- 35:53when that our when like our role players are playing well.
- 35:58Denver's A. Very hard team this time.
- 35:59Oh my gosh, dude. When we're when we're fine on
- 36:01all cylinders, we are unbeatable, man.
- 36:03Like, and if Jamal Murray starts going off, because he's been
- 36:06kind of quiet these past two years and and Joker's really off
- 36:09his game too. He's not really playing dude.
- 36:10He was great in game one. But yeah, they they kind of they
- 36:14really frustrated them as a different crew that was letting
- 36:17some like a lot more physicality borders hurt.
- 36:20So he's not really a weapon. Gordon is ship on fire.
- 36:24He's not, you know, in the LA Clippers round, you know, you
- 36:30know, some players are really, you know, did really well.
- 36:33But I haven't really seen them, you know, perform as well in
- 36:38this series as they did in that series.
- 36:40So MPJ, that's my that's my opinion on them now.
- 36:44Like, we got to get rid of them. Yeah.
- 36:46Ship them. The experiment's too.
- 36:49It's far too gone. I feel like I I.
- 36:52Don't even follow basketball that much and he's it seems like
- 36:56he's always injured. He's.
- 36:58We drafted him injured. He had he had to get back
- 37:00surgery his rookie season and. He's.
- 37:03Been an experiment he was he was like a a project in a high a
- 37:08high upside the eye like high ceiling type player because
- 37:13before he got hurt in college he was actually projected to be
- 37:16like the number one overall player.
- 37:18He was pretty much the best player in college basketball,
- 37:20right. He just had to get a back
- 37:22surgery. Yeah, he had multiple back
- 37:24surgeries and that really messed him up.
- 37:25And he dropped all the way to us at 13.
- 37:28And there have always been those flashes from him, but he's just
- 37:33never been able to never like really, really peaked really
- 37:36real like unlock that potential that you thought could have been
- 37:39there being like a, a projected number one overall pick at some
- 37:43point. You know, it's not like he's
- 37:45like a a bust in the draft. He's a good player still.
- 37:48I I feel like if the Nuggets had a deeper team, it would be
- 37:52worthwhile to keep him around, but we don't.
- 37:54And what he's what we have them for, he's very inconsistent at
- 37:59which is the problem in other. Words.
- 38:01He's worth more as a trade pick rather than that.
- 38:05I think other teams would like other players that we have just
- 38:09probably wouldn't give us as much value as we could probably
- 38:12get for him because again, there's still that like, like we
- 38:15like there's still that potential with that upside with
- 38:18him. You know, that other teams that
- 38:21maybe have some more depth or that just need those are just
- 38:26worse and just kind of need a guy to like put up some stats to
- 38:30keep the fans in their tans while they're tanking.
- 38:32Could find some value from him at Yeah, he's just like he I,
- 38:37he's not really like. I don't think.
- 38:40He's unlocking a whole lot for us on like the term of
- 38:43championship potential. But again, there's like it's a
- 38:45lot of guys are we have a lot of guys that just don't do a whole
- 38:49lot for the team. I mean, weird.
- 38:51Yeah, we'll. Just we'll just have to watch
- 38:54and and, and see how it plays, plays out super.
- 38:58Shallow rotation like of all the teams in the playoffs, I think
- 39:01we've got probably the like we're not very sure this
- 39:04rotation, right, Like Westbrook, he was a pivotal in the first.
- 39:08I mean our bench is pretty much muscle.
- 39:11Our bench is pretty much Russell Westbrook and like a little
- 39:15Peyton Watson. That's like we're almost running
- 39:17a seven man rotation every game. It's not Jalen Pickett even
- 39:21seeing minutes in the playoffs. The only.
- 39:23OK, before we get off, let's let let little stuff.
- 39:27No, no, let's let's hit the drop the mic moment.
- 39:32All right. Well, don't worry, don't worry.
- 39:42I could do. What you all?
- 39:43Think I'm going to do what's? Up what are you?
- 39:54Doing. How about?
- 39:56I'm buying your mother coffee. But.
- 39:58Look, I want the one too. I got.
- 40:01Take the ice. Don't worry about it.
- 40:03Look. But.
- 40:04I. Want to teach you something?
- 40:06So what do you do? Is this you order a coffee?
- 40:08No ice, right? You order.
- 40:10A coffee, no ice, right? I want to 5 bucks.
- 40:13So every time you go to 5 bucks, you know what happens, right?
- 40:16You pay $5. Six dollars.
- 40:18This cost me 6 bucks. Look at this Bubba.
- 40:20Look at this. There's one.
- 40:26Hey, Bubba. What do you do with?
- 40:27The rest, what do you mean? What I do, Bubba, look, it's
- 40:31overflowing. Look.
- 40:33At that I got 2 coffees. Hurrah.
- 40:36Your mother's happy. I'm happy.
- 40:40Hey, guess what? Baba it cost me 5 bucks.
- 40:45God bless. You God Bless America, yeah.
- 40:49Or or hear me out here, video on.
- 40:52The Internet. Right there.
- 40:53Or or coffee or. Hear me out, Boba.
- 40:57Boba. You could go to the store, ask
- 40:59them if you could buy like 2 cups, go brew your own name
- 41:03coffee in your house, pour it in there and you got the same
- 41:05thing. Yeah, or.
- 41:07Just do what I do. I just walk in and just take the
- 41:09cups and, you know, and I just go back there and start brewing
- 41:13my own coffee at the Starbucks. I don't even question but I
- 41:16mean. That's true.
- 41:18Like no matter how you look at it, if you go to McDonald's and
- 41:21you get a large Coke, it fills up a small cup.
- 41:27Yeah. That's the way to do it.
- 41:30It's like when I am running out of a certain drink at work and I
- 41:33don't really have time to run back to the walk in.
- 41:35We have like little boxes of apple juice.
- 41:38I'll just put more ice in the cup so it fills up faster.
- 41:42Then it like use less apple juice and I don't have to run
- 41:45back. That's right.
- 41:47That's right. Fills it up.
- 41:49All right, we're running a little long, so yeah.
- 41:51We're we're going to go ahead and go on for my break.
- 41:55The the teleprompter is acting all weird.
- 41:58That's not weird. Yeah.
- 41:59So, so when we come back. What are we talking about?
- 42:03Today? We got an EMT from Allen's Park.
- 42:08He, he a man of many talents, wears many hats.
- 42:11But his name is Lars Waika and he may have to call him to the
- 42:14show because he has kind of spotty Internet.
- 42:16But very, very interesting guy. Should be a good interview
- 42:20today. So stay tuned folks.

- 57:07got a busy one, some concerts and stuff that we're, you know,
- 57:12going to talk about in the near future.
- 57:15Those haven't been confirmed yet.
- 57:16So we aren't going to give those days, but we are currently
- 57:20trying to do Country Jam and Freedom Fest, if there is one
- 57:25this year. June 14th, 3rd annual Gratitude
- 57:28MO Gratitude ride. Make sure that you're checking

- 57:46If you want to do that event veterans, first responders, send
- 57:50in your testimonies or your essays.
- 57:52Why does this jump mean so much to you?

- 57:56right? Exactly.
- 57:57So get those into us. All right, We only have two July
- 58:0219th there's a car show at Stinger Soccer complex.
- 58:06We will be there. And last but not least, before
- 58:09we go to our interview of the week, September 20th, Buddy Bull

- 58:33it is, but I'm sure that if you're a non profit and you
- 58:37would like a booth out there, I'm sure we can get something
- 58:41fixed up for you for like a $30 donation.
- 58:43So yes, and. I also heard from a fellow
- 58:46veteran about the jump cast and all that stuff.
- 58:49He said that they're on board, but he didn't give me
- 58:51particular. So I got to get a hold of him
- 58:53and see if they're going to donate it or what the what the
- 58:56skin needs. And I do believe that we need to
- 58:58go out to school one last time just before the school year
- 59:01ends. I'm OK.
- 59:02With that, I'm OK with that, yeah.
- 59:04Same page, you know I'm OK. With that, OK.
- 59:07All right. Well, well, we got our our guy
- 59:09here today and our interviews in so without further ado.
- 59:14Interview of the Week. The interview of the week is
- 59:19brought to you by Jersey Mike's, a sub above.
- 59:26Welcome, welcome, welcome. Mr. Wyka, How are you?
- 59:30Good morning. Thank you.
- 59:31I'm good, Sir. I hope you are both well.
- 59:34Yes, Sir. We're good.
- 59:36Glad to see that looks like. I got it.
- 59:39I'm fixing a good connection. You've got beautiful weather out
- 59:43there, looks like. Yep, beautiful day on the
- 59:47mountain. Nice, nice.
- 59:50Yes. So yeah, everything seems to be
- 59:53working out well right now. So we'll we'll go ahead and run
- 59:56with it. So tell us a little bit about
- 59:59are you a native of Colorado? No, I grew up on the East Coast
- 1:00:04and I came out here at the age of 15.
- 1:00:07Oh, OK, so East Coast or what part of what part of the East
- 1:00:11Coast? Northern.
- 1:00:12New Jersey and spent a long time in Vermont and New York State.
- 1:00:17All right. Yeah, I I spent a couple years
- 1:00:19in New York. Yeah.
- 1:00:22What what brought you West? Well, my brother came out to go
- 1:00:29to Denver University, and I've always had a love for the
- 1:00:32mountains. I spent a lot of time in upstate
- 1:00:35New York, in the mountains, in caskills, as well as Vermont.
- 1:00:39And when I had the opportunity and my family allowed me to come
- 1:00:43out West to the Rockies, I jumped on it.
- 1:00:47Awesome. Yeah.
- 1:00:48So a little bit different. I mean, like you said, the
- 1:00:50Catskills are beautiful and, and, and it's got a lot to
- 1:00:53offer, but yeah, quite, quite a contrast between those mountain
- 1:00:57ranges and the Rocky Mountains. And I'm kind of like you, I'm
- 1:01:00kind of partial to the Rocky Mountains and, and all they have
- 1:01:03to offer. And it always boggles my mind
- 1:01:05that there's a lot of, I won't mention any demographics or, or
- 1:01:10eras, youthful people that don't take advantage of, of, of all
- 1:01:16that Colorado has to offer. Most.
- 1:01:19Definitely one thing that I'm really shocked at is with the
- 1:01:23Rocky Mountains and how much we have available here, especially
- 1:01:30sports wise. Everything from people running
- 1:01:33up on the mountains, trail biking to hiking, hunting,
- 1:01:39fishing and more. We have a lot of people in
- 1:01:43Colorado that seem to never get outdoors.
- 1:01:47Yeah, it is. It is pretty.
- 1:01:48It's definitely a conundrum. Well, you know.
- 1:01:51Keep in mind though, there's a lot of people that live up in
- 1:01:53Aspen or Winter Park area for the notion that they was going
- 1:01:57to move there because, you know, they, they, they was going to be
- 1:02:00addicted to snowboarding or skiing.
- 1:02:02And 90% of those people, they may be make it out there one
- 1:02:07time. You know it's.
- 1:02:08So true you, you think because I have some, not a lot, but I have
- 1:02:12some friends that live in those mountain towns and I think you
- 1:02:14think these people ski 200 days a year, right?
- 1:02:17And like you said, they do seven days, four days.
- 1:02:19It's that. Sometimes there's only one.
- 1:02:22Yeah, it's crazy. Dude, I'm like, Oh my God, I I
- 1:02:25just assumed. No, dude, I don't, I don't ski
- 1:02:27that much. I'm like, wow, that's crazy.
- 1:02:30Yeah, you. Just you, you can't always wait
- 1:02:33for the great snow days to be out there.
- 1:02:35And I apologize for moving this around.
- 1:02:37I forgot to plug in my power supply, so I'm working on that
- 1:02:41as we speak. That's OK.
- 1:02:43I'm impressed with your background.
- 1:02:44That's not a green scheme, that's real.
- 1:02:46So if you. See a bear back there?
- 1:02:51Please let me know, OK? All right, a bear or some guy
- 1:02:57dressed all in black and stuff. Yeah, we'll let you know.
- 1:03:00We. We literally got your back.
- 1:03:02Don't worry about it. Yeah, it's.
- 1:03:05It is bear season now. I do have Sky with me, my
- 1:03:08beautiful Siberian Husky, so she would sound the alarm if we
- 1:03:12were. Fast friends so Lars and I met
- 1:03:172-3 years ago at at a hunting event and we've been friends
- 1:03:21ever since and he's very experienced hunter, he's this
- 1:03:25guy's worn many hats. You know, he's been a producer,
- 1:03:27he's been an actor, he's been an inventor.
- 1:03:32He's, he's a hunter, hunter and fisherman and just done all
- 1:03:37sorts of stuff and, and I'm one of the one of the many hats he's
- 1:03:40worn is being EMT so, and back when there were real EMTs, real
- 1:03:46man, real woman. So but yeah, so it's been
- 1:03:51interesting to get no Lars and and he was gracious enough to
- 1:03:54fill in this time slot. I had a cancellation and I I
- 1:03:58approached him and he didn't even hesitate.
- 1:04:00He's like, yeah, sure. I I would love to fill in for
- 1:04:02yeah, we'll. At large, we'll definitely have
- 1:04:04to get you involved with the upcoming Buddy Bowl cause the
- 1:04:08Buddy Bowl, one of the nonprofits that we support, it's
- 1:04:13a flag football for charity and it supports disabled veterans
- 1:04:18and it supports, you know, disabled, you know, first
- 1:04:21responders. So it's definitely something
- 1:04:24that you could get on board with to, to help us out.
- 1:04:27Yeah, it's on the. 20th of September, So we got plenty of
- 1:04:29time, yeah, for you not to back out.
- 1:04:34Certainly. I'll, I'll mark the calendar for
- 1:04:37that and get more information from you as we talk.
- 1:04:39V Yeah, yeah. That's that.
- 1:04:41Sounds good and I. Appreciate, I want to say this,
- 1:04:44I appreciate you being there for the veterans most definitely men
- 1:04:49and women that have supported and defending this country are
- 1:04:53are so important. I was able to get into the
- 1:04:56services because God invented me with the 1st 2 little vertebraes
- 1:05:02that are about that tiny together were fused at birth so
- 1:05:07that that kept me from the service.
- 1:05:09So I went in to serve my community and state by being a
- 1:05:14first responder and search and rescue teams.
- 1:05:18So that was exciting. And you say back when men were
- 1:05:23men, it was more of the Wild West.
- 1:05:26And a lot of it we just had to kind of invent and go along.
- 1:05:30And you know, there's been hundreds of thousands, if not
- 1:05:34millions of people that are in this profession and have been in
- 1:05:38this profession that served the time and, and give back.
- 1:05:43And it was rewarding. It was interesting.
- 1:05:48It gave me life skills that I'll never forget.
- 1:05:52For instance, when you're a first responder and especially
- 1:05:57as a paramedic, you have to think on your toes in seconds
- 1:06:01because seconds matter. You don't know the history of
- 1:06:03the person, you don't know what you're walking into.
- 1:06:07A lot of times it's not the best or safest environments and you
- 1:06:12have to figure it all out and get it done and save the life in
- 1:06:21less than 3 minutes and get them transported or get them
- 1:06:24stabilized. So by doing that, those life
- 1:06:29skills are in you for life. So whether it comes to making a
- 1:06:34repair on my diesel truck, something happens with it
- 1:06:38hunting, we all know, V knows very well.
- 1:06:41You go out hunting, you think you're all prepared and you get
- 1:06:44out there and a lot of guys have forgotten their ammunition.
- 1:06:47So you have very little time to think that resource that get it
- 1:06:53done with fishing, you know, somebody might forget their
- 1:06:55flies or their bait, you know, So it's adapt, improvise,
- 1:07:01overcome. And it was exciting.
- 1:07:04And one of the highlights of those days was being able to
- 1:07:08deliver a child. So, you know, that was that.
- 1:07:12That's something, I mean, that happened in the late 70s and I
- 1:07:16can still remember it as if it was yesterday.
- 1:07:18So that's a good thing, yeah. Did you ever see like after
- 1:07:22that, that beautiful experience? Did you ever see that mother
- 1:07:27again? No, the The thing is you, you're
- 1:07:33there briefly. You're in and out of their lives
- 1:07:37and you don't see the people again.
- 1:07:40I'm, you know, everybody's always in my prayers and I hope
- 1:07:46and, you know, pray that that child, well, that that child,
- 1:07:52it's a young individual in the age of 30s now.
- 1:07:55So yeah, yeah, it's, it's been some years and then I just
- 1:08:01forgot. I guess it's more in the age of
- 1:08:0340s. Well, well, maybe since you're
- 1:08:05broadcasting with us today and that person in the past will see
- 1:08:10this and we'll reach out and we, we, we.
- 1:08:13That'll be their first NBR reunion.
- 1:08:17That would be that. That would be fantastic.
- 1:08:20You, you never know. We do live in a small world.
- 1:08:23Yes, we do live in a small world.
- 1:08:25So. So how long were you in that
- 1:08:28field there, Lars? Well.
- 1:08:30In and off it, it, it, it's as everybody knows, you know,
- 1:08:36duties can be tough, especially with family life.
- 1:08:40And I had a a child and a wife. So at times I had to break away,
- 1:08:47make more income and then I would go back to it.
- 1:08:51So it spanned a a decade. Oh, OK.
- 1:08:55OK, Yeah, yeah, that's, that's a long time.
- 1:08:58I mean, that's, that's a lot of wear and tear on the body and a
- 1:09:01lot of, you know, stress to deal with.
- 1:09:08You know. And and and 10 years well.
- 1:09:10Exactly. And, and that's where that's
- 1:09:13where my initial disability comes in too.
- 1:09:16And I, I will shout out and just say this, I appreciate the state
- 1:09:20of Colorado. They had passed legislation
- 1:09:23because of a officer that was injured in duty to to honor
- 1:09:29first responders that have been injured in line.
- 1:09:32And I appreciate that. And our Colorado Parks and
- 1:09:35Wildlife adds to their share and gives us some benefits for that
- 1:09:41as well. And anybody listening that's not
- 1:09:44aware of that, you can go to Colorado Parks and Wildlife and,
- 1:09:47and look that up and also the statutes of the state of
- 1:09:50Colorado to find out about that. But you know, one of the
- 1:09:54benefits I get is a lifetime state parks pass, which is nice,
- 1:10:02you know, and, and it's, it's nice to reflect upon while
- 1:10:05you're walking through some of these aches and pains that I
- 1:10:09know we all experience and have, you know, to, to have and, you
- 1:10:14know, the, the fishing and small game license and a few other
- 1:10:18benefits. You know, it's nice.
- 1:10:21It, it, it's a great thing because as V said in the
- 1:10:23beginning, I am an avid sportsman.
- 1:10:26I don't get out like I used to. I can't, I have assistance when
- 1:10:32I do go out, which is great and I appreciate, you know,
- 1:10:36volunteers that help bring an animal out for me and so forth
- 1:10:40or help provide the hunting experience.
- 1:10:43So these things are important to us.
- 1:10:46It's one of the few times I were actually get out and about other
- 1:10:50than my beautiful Husky appeared at my door a couple years ago
- 1:10:55and I get to take her out on the trail about 1/4 mile to a mile
- 1:11:01every day, so that's good. I live next door to the National
- 1:11:05Forest. That's a blessing.
- 1:11:08Yeah, that's and she's a wonderful dog.
- 1:11:11She's just a really wonderful dog.
- 1:11:13Great. A great hunting companion as
- 1:11:14well. She is.
- 1:11:16She's a sweetheart and she never used to track, but when I took
- 1:11:23her hunting, I started showing her that's a deer.
- 1:11:26Then I showed her how tasty a deer was.
- 1:11:30Same thing with a Turkey. I let her smell it.
- 1:11:32Now when we go out, if she comes across a track, whether it Now
- 1:11:38the scary thing is she comes across moose tracks and she
- 1:11:40wants to chase them and that's not good.
- 1:11:43But when it comes to Turkey and all, she will pick up the scent
- 1:11:46in the wind, pick up the tracks and yeah, she wants to hunt more
- 1:11:50than I do. Awesome.
- 1:11:52And aren't you currently writing three books?
- 1:11:55Is that, is that true? Yes.
- 1:11:57Yes, it's, it's been a long process, but I obtained a new
- 1:12:03laptop for Christmas. It was given to me, which was
- 1:12:06great because my other one was was crashing on me.
- 1:12:09And so I've got all my notes. And now I'm in the process of
- 1:12:13compiling those notes, assembling them into chapters,
- 1:12:18editing them and having them make sense.
- 1:12:21And it's, it's not a matter of just offering a book, but it's,
- 1:12:27as we know, being in the Rockies, these mountains are a
- 1:12:30serious place. Even on the Front Range, we've
- 1:12:33got a serious place. We've got serious weather in the
- 1:12:37springtime. Everybody throughout most of the
- 1:12:40United States has got their flowers blooming, their lawn
- 1:12:43screen. They're mowing their lawns here.
- 1:12:45We're still getting dumped with several feet of snow avalanches.
- 1:12:49And the state has a history of people going out in our
- 1:12:54mountains and not coming back home.
- 1:12:56And even today, every year we lose quite a few people up on
- 1:13:02these mountains. So my book explains to people,
- 1:13:06since so many are wanting to come out and experience the
- 1:13:09Rockies and experience hunting, and we do have a lot to offer
- 1:13:14here. We've got millions and millions
- 1:13:16of acres of National Forest and public lands.
- 1:13:19They need to know before they come out here from wetlands what
- 1:13:24it's like, what to be prepared, what to have in their pack, what
- 1:13:28to experience. You're not just going to jump in
- 1:13:30a vehicle and go off road or 4 wheel drive.
- 1:13:33Roads were made back in previous wars and to give people
- 1:13:41employment during the depression.
- 1:13:43And these roads get muddy, they get icy, cell phones fail,
- 1:13:49batteries die. So people just need to be aware
- 1:13:55and acknowledge both the the conditions that we have and be
- 1:14:00prepared for it. The old Boy Scout motto, be
- 1:14:03prepared. And so the the book's going to
- 1:14:08contain a lot of that information as well as the
- 1:14:11habits of both mule deer, elk and Turkey.
- 1:14:16And that's where a new book may be coming along as well.
- 1:14:20It's just a short little notebook on our Miriam turkeys
- 1:14:23in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains guys.
- 1:14:25Again, they act differently than Turkey Shroud the rest of the
- 1:14:28United States. So just trying to help people
- 1:14:31out. Well, yeah, I mean, you're very
- 1:14:34experienced, Hunter. There's there's no no denying
- 1:14:36that. I mean, you've been since I've
- 1:14:38known you. I mean, you've just been
- 1:14:39cleaning the house. It's like every every year.
- 1:14:41This guy feels almost every tag he.
- 1:14:44He puts in for so I've been. Very fortunate.
- 1:14:49I, I, I will say that and, and it's one of the things that
- 1:14:55helps my body and keeps me around is natural game meat.
- 1:15:01You know, there's never a recall on natural game.
- 1:15:03There's never hormones put into them, antibiotics and I already
- 1:15:08have enough medications in me on a daily basis that I don't need
- 1:15:13ones from bovines or, or chickens and and so on and so
- 1:15:17forth. So and I enjoy going out hunting
- 1:15:20with you feet and sharing the experience with you.
- 1:15:22It's me. As well.
- 1:15:24Yeah, we've. Been having a good time out
- 1:15:25there, even though the other day that Turkey answered us
- 1:15:29immediately on the first call but refused to show himself.
- 1:15:33Yeah. Yeah, a little bit of a let
- 1:15:36down, but it was still a great time and I I enjoy going out
- 1:15:39there with you and learning. So when you when you what made
- 1:15:44you decide to write these books? Was it because of just personal
- 1:15:48experiences that you have that you, you know, 'cause I know
- 1:15:51you've shared with me as an EMT, there were times that you had to
- 1:15:54go rescue people that were lost in the mountains or, or, or, or
- 1:16:00what have you. So was that kind of what
- 1:16:02prompted this personal experiences?
- 1:16:06Yes, yes. You know, back in my EMT days, I
- 1:16:10started becoming involved with search and rescues and again,
- 1:16:16and nobody seems to get injured or lost on a sunny nice day.
- 1:16:21You know, it's always in extreme condition.
- 1:16:23So I had experiences there, knowledge there.
- 1:16:26I've been blessed with a, a lifetime of just an incredible
- 1:16:31meeting people and experiences. I started when I first came to
- 1:16:34Colorado, being an intern at the Denver Museum of Natural History
- 1:16:41under Kent Olberg, the famous wildlife sculptor.
- 1:16:47And I got to work behind the scenes doing their African
- 1:16:52exhibit with Kent, learned sculpting, learned about
- 1:16:55animals. Went to work after that for the
- 1:16:58original Jonas Brothers at 10th and Broadway.
- 1:17:01Met a lot of hunters, a lot of his experience Safari Club
- 1:17:04International members and you know that I just had the
- 1:17:09interest and so I've how long my life I've gained a lot of
- 1:17:17knowledge and years ago a mentor of mine who's now passed Frank
- 1:17:22Aveeno, he had encouraged me. He said, you know, you need to
- 1:17:26write books you you've got a lot to share.
- 1:17:29People need this. And Frank had authored many
- 1:17:33books and I had been around him watching him.
- 1:17:37I got the opportunity to ask him about how to do it.
- 1:17:41Then. His trick back then was little
- 1:17:44milk cards, and every time an idea would come, jot it down on
- 1:17:49a note card. Well, now we're in the digital
- 1:17:52age. I use digital notes and I jot it
- 1:17:56down. If I help somebody online and
- 1:17:58give him some information, I jot that information down and that
- 1:18:02way I assemble it and that gives me the basis of the book.
- 1:18:06So doing the books is mainly to share.
- 1:18:10I've been blessed. With those opportunities and I
- 1:18:14would like to give them to other people for them to be blessed
- 1:18:18with them. As we share knowledge, life
- 1:18:22becomes better for those that want to partake in that
- 1:18:25knowledge. We've got a lot to give back no
- 1:18:29matter what it is. With me it's trying to.
- 1:18:36Well, there, there you have it. There you go.
- 1:18:39That that's just that's somebody on TikTok sharing the live.
- 1:18:42That's all that is, no? OK, that's wondering where that
- 1:18:47came out of, but yeah, I know I say try to write the book.
- 1:18:51So I'll I'll say this. Writing books is not the most
- 1:18:56simple thing to do. Your mind gets distracted, your
- 1:18:59mind goes off and wanders. You just like what I'm speaking
- 1:19:03at today. You just keep going and going
- 1:19:05and going. And then you've got to go back
- 1:19:07and edit that down for what's the important part.
- 1:19:11So it's, it's a new experience for me and it's been taking
- 1:19:16time, but it's a, it's a healthy experience too.
- 1:19:18And you get to, you know, while I'm doing it, reflect back on a
- 1:19:21lot of good times in life and. And that's.
- 1:19:25Important for all of us, especially as veterans, you guys
- 1:19:29know it. It's the experience that we live
- 1:19:32upon every day that keep us going forward instead of looking
- 1:19:37back and just dwelling on experiences that we might not
- 1:19:44want to remember. I know I've got a lot of those
- 1:19:48even in as a first responder, most of I was speaking to a
- 1:19:53Vietnam veteran yesterday while I was out shopping.
- 1:19:57And, you know, he was surprised to realize that I've been in
- 1:20:04urban combat and have been shot at more times than I really care
- 1:20:08to remember. Nowadays, we give all our first
- 1:20:12responders fire, ambulance, Kevlar vests.
- 1:20:20The the world has changed. So, you know, they're, they're
- 1:20:24those kind of things you don't really want to think about, You
- 1:20:27know, they, they happen. And that's why writing these
- 1:20:32books and giving something to somebody that's healthy, good,
- 1:20:38that can keep them safe as well as keep them productive and have
- 1:20:42a good hunt. Yeah, it's awesome.
- 1:20:46And you know. I was thinking.
- 1:20:48About it as you were talking and I was thinking you know that's a
- 1:20:52good thing and and and why not be a part of that.
- 1:20:55So you know, that's why we decided this year 2025 MBR was
- 1:21:00going to start including. 1st. Responders, because we feel here
- 1:21:06at MBR that you guys don't get your fair share either, or you
- 1:21:11get your or your kudos as much as you should, unsung heroes, if
- 1:21:17you will, that deserve recognition, that deserve
- 1:21:20resources, that deserve, you know, the opportunity to do
- 1:21:26things. So we've made a concerted effort
- 1:21:28this year to include first responders at MBR and to bring
- 1:21:33you into our family. So thank you again for being
- 1:21:36here today. Well, you're welcome and thank
- 1:21:38you gentlemen for for doing that because you are right.
- 1:21:42I mean, there are, there are a few programs out there for first
- 1:21:45responders and there's a lot of programs out there that don't
- 1:21:52take on 1st responders. And you know, there's good
- 1:21:56reasons for for all of it. But any group like your own that
- 1:22:01that does include us, that's a benefit because a lot of times
- 1:22:07are are spent at home unable to get out the door and do things.
- 1:22:12And as far as resources, you know, sometimes just the
- 1:22:16knowledge of resources that are out there and trying to be aware
- 1:22:21of those becomes difficult. So I certainly appreciate the
- 1:22:25help you're doing for for everybody.
- 1:22:28It's it's important work And, you know, I'm glad that you guys
- 1:22:33do it. And present day, we've been
- 1:22:35friends since the the very first day we met seemed just kind of
- 1:22:40natural and organic and and I appreciate, you know, knowing
- 1:22:45you and as well learning a lot from you as well.
- 1:22:50And so that's a great thing. Yeah.
- 1:22:52Excuse me, sky crossover, stop sky, the electrical lines.
- 1:23:00And that would not go good. So, yeah, 'cause I know that
- 1:23:05you've you've shared some frustration with the amount of
- 1:23:08just nonprofit hunting organizations that don't include
- 1:23:12first responders. I know it's been kind of a hit
- 1:23:15and miss for you. Yeah, it seems, I know I don't
- 1:23:19know the exact percentages or, or whatnot, but you know, and,
- 1:23:24and, and, and not to get me wrong, veterans definitely
- 1:23:28deserve a lot of respect and a lot of programs.
- 1:23:31And, you know, we're, we're losing people every day.
- 1:23:35And if we can get them out in the fields and get them enjoying
- 1:23:39things and seeing things differently, we might be able to
- 1:23:42keep those people around longer. But yeah, that I would the vast
- 1:23:48majority of veteran hunting groups don't include first
- 1:23:52responders. And it just is what it is a a
- 1:23:56nonprofit. I respect every nonprofit out
- 1:24:01there, that organization And then they've got to set their
- 1:24:03parameters and what their monetary basis and what they can
- 1:24:08do. But any group and, and a lot of
- 1:24:13times perhaps they're just haven't thought about it.
- 1:24:17And really, you know, our, our, our focus because we've got so
- 1:24:21many veterans that, you know, that really need the buddy
- 1:24:26system and, and activities and, and getting out there and
- 1:24:31experienced seeing the camaraderie, you know, so a lot
- 1:24:36of them just might not be aware of that.
- 1:24:37Yeah, there's some of us first responders out there.
- 1:24:40And like I said, millions of first responders and no matter
- 1:24:46what, every single first responder that's been out there
- 1:24:51is dealing with some form of PTSD.
- 1:24:54Most. Definitely, Yeah, most
- 1:24:56definitely. And now large, didn't you?
- 1:24:59I mean, because I, as I said earlier, you wear many hats.
- 1:25:01You have a lot of experiences, have rubbed elbows with some big
- 1:25:06wigs in in the past. And are you currently working on
- 1:25:09a didn't you tell me you're working on an exoskeleton,
- 1:25:13Patton or something like that? You.
- 1:25:15Yeah. Yeah, I need to, I, I need to
- 1:25:18partner up with some people with big pockets and connections.
- 1:25:24Back in my day when I was in the film industry, there'd be a lot
- 1:25:29of cocktail parties and I was in Dallas area at the time.
- 1:25:37Then you go to those parties and, and the, the type of people
- 1:25:40that would be there, you would just start talking about
- 1:25:42something. And the next thing you know,
- 1:25:44you're paired up with lawyers. You're and, and you're, you're
- 1:25:47getting contracts written and programs written and so forth
- 1:25:55and, and getting them moving ahead.
- 1:25:57These days I'm out of that loop. And of course circles of
- 1:25:59influence matter because who we're surrounded by is what can
- 1:26:04happen. And this ectoskeleton is
- 1:26:07something of course I really can't discuss the because of
- 1:26:11trade secret and what not all the particulars.
- 1:26:14But it's something that could help every single person that
- 1:26:20lives in extreme pain and agony, the paraplegic and the
- 1:26:23quadriplegics and the people of missing limbs.
- 1:26:27And with smart technology that we have today and
- 1:26:33nanotechnology, microchips, I mean, we're wearing telephones
- 1:26:37and computers on our wrists and, and now even on rings that
- 1:26:41record data. With all that data being
- 1:26:43recorded and all that smart technology, we could do a lot to
- 1:26:48help the human body that's suffering.
- 1:26:52And with carbon fiber being lightweight and 3D technology
- 1:26:58and laser scanning, but we can adapt this for every single
- 1:27:02individual by just putting them into one of these laser booths.
- 1:27:07And hospitals can have these laser booths.
- 1:27:10So I mean, hospitals have amazing equipment and we could
- 1:27:13go inside the body and look at your organ and move it around on
- 1:27:17a gimbal and 3D and look inside of it, you know, and, and that's
- 1:27:23done through MRI technologies and and CAT scans.
- 1:27:26So you know. Violated.
- 1:27:29Yeah, you know, it's so, yeah, I'm working on that.
- 1:27:32And I, I really need, need some people.
- 1:27:34And I'm, I'm really looking for some celebrity background in it
- 1:27:40because I know that that's where I knew that aspect of my life
- 1:27:45had opened doors back then, you know, and it just, it gets you
- 1:27:50to meet the people and, and there's some brilliant minds out
- 1:27:53there. There's people with a lot of
- 1:27:55money. I found out in my lifetime,
- 1:27:58money is just zeros. Some people think about $100 and
- 1:28:04some people think about a million and other people think
- 1:28:07about a billion. And the only thing different
- 1:28:09with all those numbers are zeros.
- 1:28:12All of us are the same people, you know, saying, well, they're
- 1:28:16really talented. We all have talents It it's just
- 1:28:20that the only thing different is the zeros and, and how we trap
- 1:28:25our mind into it or not. And those people that have a lot
- 1:28:28of zeros in their bank account are the type of people that look
- 1:28:32for an investment and and something like this is an
- 1:28:36investment financially for them. I'm.
- 1:28:41Yeah, betterment of society. I mean, that's that's a win win.
- 1:28:45Well, well. That's it for me.
- 1:28:46It's a betterment of society and again, it's giving back and it I
- 1:28:50mean, I again, we all have something.
- 1:28:53Personally, in my life, I live in 24/7 agony and there's no
- 1:29:00medication that takes away from that.
- 1:29:03Medication helps. I live in the mountains.
- 1:29:07I'm Yeah, it's all. It's all temporary relief.
- 1:29:10I I'm right there with you, you know, and, and and and trying to
- 1:29:13find, you know, something else that works.
- 1:29:15But you know, and, and, and maybe we can tap into that large
- 1:29:18because I know you've talked about getting sponsorships for
- 1:29:21other nonprofits. So maybe we can talk more about
- 1:29:24that and get MBR little assistance there.
- 1:29:26Joe Joe's half asleep over here. So no, I'm.
- 1:29:29Not half asleep, I'm listening. But yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll
- 1:29:32look into it and we'll see where we can, you know, compose and
- 1:29:36stuff. Ours has a lot of contact, so
- 1:29:38OK, he's got a lot of a lot of yeah.
- 1:29:41Yeah, we need to to have further meetings and, and discussions
- 1:29:45and what that and, you know, 'cause I, if I can be of
- 1:29:49assistance to you folks, I would certainly like to put the, you
- 1:29:53know, you together with people that are looking for a place.
- 1:29:57You know, I mean, these days there's a lot of grants.
- 1:30:01Of course, we're going into a recession.
- 1:30:03It seems things have changed. But again, even during
- 1:30:06recessions, things still keep moving.
- 1:30:09And for people like you and I, yeah, it kind of hurts our
- 1:30:13wallet and maybe shopping and our groceries and all change for
- 1:30:17other people on the financial level when we're in a recession,
- 1:30:20that's when they're looking for the next innovation.
- 1:30:23And, and again, I'm not looking for profit.
- 1:30:26I'm looking for something. I know that this ectoskeleton is
- 1:30:29something that my body could use, but.
- 1:30:33You can. Totally help us because right
- 1:30:34now V is O for five and I'm O for two in grant.
- 1:30:37So we, we, we, we can take all the help that we can get.
- 1:30:41Lars, let me tell you well. Well, that's it, you know, and
- 1:30:46then you know, hopefully we can do that.
- 1:30:48And I know that one thing we have and perhaps some of the the
- 1:30:53the folks you're listening to right now.
- 1:30:55I know that our Denver Broncos and have been very active
- 1:31:01throughout history of looking for places to put grant money in
- 1:31:08for, for good causes. I know for Vincent's Von Miller,
- 1:31:14his aspect is he grew up needing eyeglasses as a child who
- 1:31:18couldn't afford them. So every year he gets back for
- 1:31:24for that. And so maybe some of those
- 1:31:27people will hear this and, and contact you all and, and help
- 1:31:32out. And, and I'm just pointing them
- 1:31:34out as one. You know, we've got the ABS,
- 1:31:37we've got the Rockies, you know, we've got a lot of business
- 1:31:40people and yeah. Pretty much if you look into any
- 1:31:44professional athlete, like they have some kind of connection
- 1:31:48with some kind of non profit. If if either they're a
- 1:31:51spokesperson or it's their non profit, they they have something
- 1:31:56to do with it. You're exactly right on that.
- 1:31:58Yeah, yeah, certainly. I mean, we all, you know, we, we
- 1:32:02all, when we reflect back on our lives, we, we should feel
- 1:32:05blessed on, on what's been given us.
- 1:32:07And with, with those people that get to play National Football
- 1:32:13professionally, something that they grew up like you and I
- 1:32:16probably threw ball together growing up, you know, and, and
- 1:32:20it was fun. It was fun to go out and play.
- 1:32:22And these folks have played and had an opportunity to
- 1:32:28professionally earn a lot of income while playing.
- 1:32:32Now, I don't know, kidding aside, you know, their bodies
- 1:32:37take a lot of abuse to professional leagues or are are
- 1:32:41are intense. But when they when they get a
- 1:32:43chance to sign on, they feel blessed and they want to give
- 1:32:46back. And, you know, giving back.
- 1:32:49I know you guys know giving back feels so good.
- 1:32:56It keeps us going and it's what we look forward to.
- 1:32:59And you know, so yeah, you know anybody listening to this that
- 1:33:04would like to your great organization to to get a hold
- 1:33:08of. Well, thanks so much, Les.
- 1:33:11This has been awesome. We really appreciate the time
- 1:33:13you've taken. So we've reached our final
- 1:33:14segment right and. It is the time to shine.
- 1:33:19Today's Time to Shine is brought to you by Dunkin' Donuts
- 1:33:24veterans and 1st Responders runs on Dunkin.
- 1:33:30This is the time. To shine, believe.
- 1:33:34Me, it is the time to shine. Right large.
- 1:33:38So time to shine is to talk about something that we didn't
- 1:33:41cover or something that you you had on your mind that you want
- 1:33:44to cover. This is your time to shine.
- 1:33:48Huh. Yeah, threw me for a loop on
- 1:33:51that one. But we didn't.
- 1:33:53Even cover, we kind of covered a lot of bases.
- 1:33:58So, you know, large, do you have any like social media handles
- 1:34:02that you can say offhand that people can follow your your
- 1:34:06journey that you have? Well, I, I I don't really have
- 1:34:11that story out there. I I know one thing I I could use
- 1:34:15some help. I had started a website years
- 1:34:17ago called wildlifespirits.com and when I transferred it from
- 1:34:23servers years ago everything stopped working.
- 1:34:27As far as the the image is my haywire, Yeah.
- 1:34:31And of course, all the pictures are obsolete because digital age
- 1:34:34has grown and resolution has grown.
- 1:34:37But it was there to, you know, to just get a lot of photographs
- 1:34:40to educate, you know, students and what not to have for doing
- 1:34:44reports and information and and look about wildlife.
- 1:34:49So there's that. And then Lars Wyka, I'm on
- 1:34:52Facebook, you know, and I can have quite a mouthpiece with
- 1:34:56that. I could be quite controversial
- 1:35:00because I get in the face of power and I, I speak it as I see
- 1:35:06it. I don't know, we speak it the
- 1:35:08way, you know, that it's going to answer questions or anything
- 1:35:12like that. But when I see something wrong,
- 1:35:14I generally don't sit back. I generally get out and talk
- 1:35:18about it. That's a good thing that we need
- 1:35:21more of that in America. We really do.
- 1:35:23We really do. Well, Lars, this has been
- 1:35:25awesome, man. Thanks so much for joining us
- 1:35:26today. Thanks for taking out of your
- 1:35:27schedule. We we love all the content you
- 1:35:31that you shared with us and we appreciate you coming on the
- 1:35:35show. And we will be in touch sooner
- 1:35:39rather than later. Say hi to the family star and
- 1:35:41sky and and we'll talk to you soon.
- 1:35:44Have a great weekend Likewise. Thank you, gentlemen, for the
- 1:35:46opportunity. You take care.
- 1:35:48All right, take. Care.
- 1:35:51Bye. All right, so that was good.
- 1:35:54That was amazing. V, thank you for getting that
- 1:35:57set up. V does all of our interviews.
- 1:35:59He schedules all of our interviews.
- 1:36:02That was a good one. And you know, he was just
- 1:36:04telling me the other day, he's like, man, he was like, they
- 1:36:06reach out to the manager, but they don't reach out to me.
- 1:36:10So everybody, it's v ^2 at MB Radio dot US.
- 1:36:16So if you know. And it helps if if I check my.
- 1:36:22E-mail. Yeah, that too.
- 1:36:23That too. All right.
- 1:36:24Hey, so we're going to go on a music.
- 1:36:28Well, you know, instead of going on music break, we'll just go to
- 1:36:32the tribute to the troops. It might be it, it might be a
- 1:36:36rerun, but that's OK. We're we're still going to do
- 1:36:39the tribute. And when we come back, it will
- 1:36:42be the final thoughts. So whatever you do, stay with
- 1:36:45us. Don't go away.
- 1:36:46You lose. Then do the rebel experience
- 1:36:49right here on station. Let's let in our veterans.
- 1:36:51Vice is her MBR. Detail attention.
- 1:37:02First, call. The service member's name is
- 1:37:04called out loud. In the context of a unit.
- 1:37:07This is meant to ensure all are present and accounted for.
- 1:37:11Second call, The name is called out again louder to confirm that
- 1:37:15the service member is indeed absent.
- 1:37:18Third call, The name is called out for a final time, followed
- 1:37:22by a statement indicating that the service member is not
- 1:37:25present and accounted for, signifying their death.
- 1:37:29The final roll call serves as a symbolic gesture to respect and
- 1:37:32remember their service. Sir, I don't.
- 1:37:42I don't know how. To tell the story.
- 1:37:44Well, you got the joke. You tell him there the people
- 1:37:47what these men did here. You tell him how my troopers
- 1:37:50died. Hey everyone, thank you for
- 1:38:14tuning into NPR today as we pay tribute to Captain Jennifer M
- 1:38:18Moreno, aged 25, of San Diego, CA.
- 1:38:22Captain Moreno was born on June 25th, 1988 in San Diego, CA
- 1:38:27Captain Moreno was a nurse assigned to the Madigan Army
- 1:38:30Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis McCord, Washington.
- 1:38:34Captain Moreno was serving as a cultural support team member
- 1:38:37attached to a joint Special Operations Task Force at the
- 1:38:41time of her death. After graduating high school,
- 1:38:44Captain Moreno went on to graduate from the University of
- 1:38:47San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and

- 1:39:11member of the Cultural Support Team with the Special Operations
- 1:39:15Task Force that deployed in June of 2013.
- 1:39:19Captain Moreno died on October 6th, 2013 of wounds sustained
- 1:39:24from the detonation of an improvised explosive device

- 1:39:35Also killed in the blast were Sergeant Patrick C Hawkins, 25,
- 1:39:39of Carlisle, PA, Sergeant Joseph M Peters, 24, of Springfield,

- 1:40:22We here at MBR would like to thank you, Captain Jennifer
- 1:40:25Moreno for your service and dedication to our country.
- 1:40:29You leave a legacy of love and courage.
- 1:40:31Our prayers are with your family, friends, and those who
- 1:40:34served alongside you. You are missed.
- 1:40:50Belly. Tail.
- 1:40:51Tension. Ready.
- 1:44:47The station where our veterans voices are heard.
- 1:44:49MBR talk. Hey, thanks for tuning in.
- 1:44:54Welcome back again. Are those of the speakers and do
- 1:44:58not necessarily reflect the views or positions of any
- 1:45:02entities. They represent the web.
- 1:45:05At NB radio dot. Alright, welcome back.
- 1:45:09Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, We are back.
- 1:45:13Can you listen to the Rebel experience right here on the
- 1:45:16station that's giving veterans, they're letting their veterans
- 1:45:19voices be heard. MBR.
- 1:45:22Before we get out of here, though, the last 15 minutes, you
- 1:45:26know, I wanted to give my, my, my viral weather report.
- 1:45:34I don't know why, but that barrel last last week.
- 1:45:37But so today here in Colorado, it's partly sunny.
- 1:45:43So, you know, the Today is definitely a good day to go out
- 1:45:47on the bike. Saturday, it's going to be
- 1:45:50slush, slush mixed with clouds and comfortable.
- 1:45:54And then Sunday, I'm telling you right now, I'm telling you right
- 1:45:58now is there, it's going to snow without prediction on Saturday
- 1:46:02or it's going to snow on Sunday. There's a reason why they say in
- 1:46:06Colorado don't plan anything until after Mother's Day.
- 1:46:09Yeah. And you know my our interview,
- 1:46:11the week Lars Waika, he told me every four day window before or
- 1:46:17after Mother's Day, always some kind of weather event.
- 1:46:19Yeah. Always, Yeah.
- 1:46:21And I'm like. Yeah, never realized so if.
- 1:46:23Nothing changes but it says. Anyone and if.
- 1:46:27Nothing changes right now. It's supposed to be a beautiful
- 1:46:30weekend, especially for the whole week.
- 1:46:32I mean, yeah. And And what better way to
- 1:46:36celebrate Mother's Day with some deals and events that are going
- 1:46:41on in the local area. We have the May.
- 1:46:45The Maven Hotel is offering a curd bunch curated.
- 1:46:51Cur, OH. That's curated, OK, curated
- 1:46:54brunch before featuring dishes like Tamale Colorado.
- 1:46:58And churro waffles. Oh, that's Mom.
- 1:47:01Receives A complimentary mamosa. OK.
- 1:47:04There we go. Maybe I should let you pronounce
- 1:47:07it and say that Bar museum. Is hosting a Mother's Day brunch
- 1:47:10with seatings at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
- 1:47:13Prices are $55 for a for adults and 20 for children under 15.
- 1:47:17That's not right, no. No, it's not bad.
- 1:47:18I've never been to the. Maven Hotel.
- 1:47:20I don't even know where that's at, but well.
- 1:47:22So this this right here, this is the Denver Art Museum.
- 1:47:27No, but I. Know, but I was talking about oh
- 1:47:29OK. I I don't even know where the
- 1:47:31Marvin Hotel is. To be honest with.
- 1:47:34You, you know, I feel like I, I, I don't know.
- 1:47:37Either, but this is the Maven Hotel.
- 1:47:38This is Marvin, Marvin. Marvin, Maven Marvin.
- 1:47:43Stupid pronunciation. OK.
- 1:47:45Yeah, let's see, unique. Experiences Leclair's
- 1:47:49patisserie. Combining brunch with tarot and
- 1:47:52tea leaf readings, crafts and live music for a magical
- 1:47:55Mother's Day event. Sounds kind of spooky.
- 1:47:57Great Divide Barrel Bar hosting A2 Day market featuring baby
- 1:48:01goat yoga, artisan vendors, massages and food trucks.
- 1:48:05Have you have you heard about that baby goat yoga?
- 1:48:07I mean, no, I've. Done it before.
- 1:48:10It's really weird, like you just do the yoga and the goats like
- 1:48:13climb on your back and they'll come around and just like hang
- 1:48:17out with you while you do yoga. It's it's kind of a weird
- 1:48:20experience. I don't want to.
- 1:48:21Be a weird experience if it came up and started licking my crack
- 1:48:24while I was trying to do yoga right?
- 1:48:26Well, there's AI, can't remember what state it's in, but there's
- 1:48:28a don't wear a loose fitting pants.
- 1:48:30They're going to slide down like right.
- 1:48:33I want to say Utah. There's a golf course that has
- 1:48:36goat caddies. So you say.
- 1:48:39Utah. That explains everything right
- 1:48:41there, I think. It's Utah.
- 1:48:42I'm not sure, but I saw there's an article in the latest golf
- 1:48:46magazine that talks about it, that they have these golf
- 1:48:50caddies that are goats. So entertainment activities.
- 1:48:54The hockey club got a name? Yeah.
- 1:48:56What is it? Hockey club?
- 1:48:57They're they going to be the Utah Mammoth I heard.
- 1:49:00About that Mammoth. Not not Mammoths, but Mammoth
- 1:49:05lacrosse team. Name.
- 1:49:06Yeah. So, yeah, right.
- 1:49:08Utah Denver Fashion Week is I I still think that Utah profits
- 1:49:12would have been gas, fire, flames.
- 1:49:15I hear you, I hear you. So entertainment this week
- 1:49:18showcasing sustainable and resort wear collections at the
- 1:49:21Denver Fashion Week Red Rocks Amphitheatre featuring
- 1:49:24performances by the Turnpike Troubadours Denver Mother's Day
- 1:49:315 KA family friendly race celebrating moms at Wash Park
- 1:49:34Home tour Explore beautiful homes in Washington Park Company
- 1:49:37by a street fair Yeah kind. Of and that that concert that
- 1:49:41you was planning on going to tonight maybe you can find some
- 1:49:45local listeners so I got. An e-mail late last night from
- 1:49:48Vet Ticks. And Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one
- 1:49:51of my favorite artists. He's he's in town tonight at the
- 1:49:55Paramount Theatre. And dude, I got 2 tickets for 13
- 1:49:58bucks. So it's like, and I can't find
- 1:50:00any schmuck to go. So, you know, I'll figure it
- 1:50:06out. Figure it out.
- 1:50:06But yeah. So, yeah.
- 1:50:08So Katie Wayne Shepherd tonight at the Paramount Theatre should
- 1:50:11be a good show. There you go.
- 1:50:14You know the only thing that I hate about going to those
- 1:50:17concerts as you can never find parking.
- 1:50:20Yeah. That's, that's I, I, I thought
- 1:50:22about if I go by myself, I'm going to ride my motorcycle.
- 1:50:25Oh. Most definitely.
- 1:50:26I would ride your motorcycle regardless.
- 1:50:28Yeah. Because then I can find parking
- 1:50:30no problem. Yeah, but but yeah, it's just, I
- 1:50:33was thinking that too. I was like, man, downtown, I
- 1:50:35hate downtown venues. It just sucks.
- 1:50:38The nice thing? About a motorcycle, a lot of
- 1:50:40people don't talk about that, but like, you know, if, if
- 1:50:44there's like no parking, a handicap or anything, you can
- 1:50:48literally park that motorcycle like on the sidewalk.
- 1:50:52They won't even give you a ticket for that.
- 1:50:54They'd rather give you a ticket if if you're parked somewhere
- 1:50:58weird and you don't have like a handicap placard or something
- 1:51:02up, but they won't. They won't give you a ticket if
- 1:51:05well, at least that's my experience because you can find
- 1:51:10a parking space anywhere with a trike.
- 1:51:13Yeah. You can.
- 1:51:15Always squeeze in somewhere, that's for sure, yeah.
- 1:51:17Most definitely. And then last but not least,
- 1:51:22like like the boys covered it early.
- 1:51:25You know, there's, there's like there's some rocky games come
- 1:51:29coming over on the weekend as well.
- 1:51:33Man's gone to the game, Yeah. Aren't your game, man.
- 1:51:35Yeah, They're playing the Padres, so yeah.
- 1:51:37They're they're going. To get killed, they're going to
- 1:51:40get creamed. It doesn't matter.
- 1:51:42Who the Rockies playing they get killed them regardless.
- 1:51:44You got a couple of. Padres on my fantasy baseball
- 1:51:47team, so they're going to be scoring a lot of points for me
- 1:51:49most likely. I might put a bet Fernando Tatis
- 1:51:53RB a couple RBIs from him or something.
- 1:51:55Michael King might throw another no hitter against the fucking
- 1:51:59rocks. I bet Rockies are the the the
- 1:52:02most popular team to bet against on to hate.
- 1:52:06Yeah, I mean, you can't if you win in Batman 6.
- 1:52:08And 30. You can bet against the Rockies
- 1:52:10and feel fine, yeah. I mean the.
- 1:52:13Odds, though, betting against them probably don't pay out a
- 1:52:16lot because like, I mean, yeah, we all know it's well, yeah, you
- 1:52:20definitely. Have to have the money to be
- 1:52:22able to make the bets, but yeah. Yeah.
- 1:52:26And game three in the NBA playoffs Nuggets against the
- 1:52:30Thunder Ballerina 7:00 PM this evening is tip off Yeah if.
- 1:52:34The Nuggets can't pull off both the wins while they're here at
- 1:52:38the Ball Arena. I we need one.
- 1:52:40We need one, we need one. I mean the the game one away
- 1:52:44victory was huge. Yeah, that was huge.
- 1:52:47Yeah, that was huge. So as long as we just keep on
- 1:52:50winning at home, we, we'll, we'll be well.
- 1:52:53We have a 5050 chance we saw. How much homecourt affected the
- 1:52:57Clippers series, which it really did, honestly, for both teams.
- 1:53:01Like no matter where they played.
- 1:53:04I think you got to hope. That that comes into effect for
- 1:53:07us tonight. This would be another big one,
- 1:53:10right? Yeah.
- 1:53:10And the fact that we don't have a very deep bench like H, she
- 1:53:14was saying earlier if. We if our key.
- 1:53:17Players are playing on point man.
- 1:53:18We're unstoppable. I mean that seven man rotation
- 1:53:22can be dangerous when they're all playing well, but.
- 1:53:25It's like. You don't know who's showing up.
- 1:53:28And as I always say, as long as the the fans, all of Denver, as
- 1:53:35long as we don't hype the team up, they do pretty good hyping
- 1:53:39themselves up when you know, hey, we're going to we're going
- 1:53:43to take all this show Lamar squirting out of Denver,
- 1:53:46Nightmax, screw them. You know they ain't going to
- 1:53:48make it past the first round. I'm telling you, those, those
- 1:53:52players, they listen. They they do better when they
- 1:53:55get shit talk compared to when people hype them up.
- 1:53:59That's certainly true. So.
- 1:54:02All right, well, before we get out of here, we wanted to thank
- 1:54:06DV Radio as one of our sponsors, MO gratitude as one of our
- 1:54:11sponsors, you know, and Jersey Mike's and Dunkin' Donuts.
- 1:54:16I'm pretty sure we didn't hit the final, the final thought
- 1:54:19moment segment, but that's OK. We've, we've been all over the
- 1:54:23place today. Still got 10.
- 1:54:24Minutes, yeah. So, but yeah, we'll go ahead and
- 1:54:28do that. So yeah, I hit it 5-5 minutes.
- 1:54:37554433211 We have ignition strap in, it's the two-minute.
- 1:54:45Warning. Minute warning what we?
- 1:54:49Earn today. At project.
- 1:54:54ML Gratitude. Our mission.
- 1:54:57Is simple. To give.
- 1:54:58Motorcycles to veterans who need.
- 1:54:59The kind of peace and freedom that only a ride can give.
- 1:55:04All right, and once again. Therapy can't beat it right?
- 1:55:07And once. Again, ML Gratitude is giving
- 1:55:10away a free motorcycle pretty much almost at the end of the
- 1:55:15month, June. 14th yeah, yes. That's.
- 1:55:21I I can't speak to that enough. Dude, how?
- 1:55:25That has changed. My life you know I I've been
- 1:55:27trying to save my my paintings together to for a bike and you
- 1:55:31put this opportunity in my lap and I was like wow it's just
- 1:55:34been incredible dude and and I feel free because I know that
- 1:55:37your bike is on the blink again and any updates on that No I.
- 1:55:41I don't think that anything's going to happen, man.
- 1:55:44I am and then and and that's OK. You know, it is what it is.
- 1:55:49We'll find. Somebody to fix it?
- 1:55:50We'll find somebody to. Fix it.
- 1:55:52So, but you know, if you have an event, if you're a nonprofit
- 1:55:57business, whatever, if you have an event or a flyer, you can
- 1:56:01make sure and send it to us. We're always, we're always
- 1:56:06looking for, you know, community events to cover.
- 1:56:10So send that to us. If you were a veteran or first
- 1:56:14responder and you know anything about animation, you know, stuff
- 1:56:20like that. We are trying to create a fourth
- 1:56:24channel and with that Channel it's going to be learning, you
- 1:56:28know, coloring cause coloring and creating cartoons and stuff
- 1:56:35for people that are patient, unlike me.
- 1:56:37It's very rehabilitational, so definitely.
- 1:56:41Something I'm interested in. That sounds really neat and
- 1:56:43again I want to thank large. He just said thank you guys.
- 1:56:45I hope that it went well and it's something that you are
- 1:56:47looking for. Fortunately laptop had the
- 1:56:49bandwidth and they said yes Sir, it went great.
- 1:56:52And we loved his. We loved his real backdrop.
- 1:56:56So yeah. With that being.
- 1:56:59Said. Final thoughts?
- 1:57:02Yeah. What?
- 1:57:03Do you think? We learned all these events that
- 1:57:07we got coming up. MBR is not playing around 2025.
- 1:57:11Yeah, we're we're, we're in it man.
- 1:57:12We're in to win it, going all in.
- 1:57:16So all that. Great stuff to look forward to.
- 1:57:18Yeah, I'm ready for this buddy Bowl.
- 1:57:21I can't. I'm.
- 1:57:22I'm down excited for that one. I'm there for the Buddy Bowl.
- 1:57:25I don't. Know if I'd rather watch HG and
- 1:57:28and Caveman play it or I would rather watch them analyze it you
- 1:57:34know, be an analyst play by play yeah I think they can do both I
- 1:57:38think they. Can do both.
- 1:57:40Yeah, that, that's going to be interesting if we.
- 1:57:43Don't make it to like the for one.
- 1:57:45If we. Don't make it to the finals.
- 1:57:47We will be put on the broadcasting, but who knows, we
- 1:57:51might just dominate. Yeah, you guys might run the run
- 1:57:53the table, they might run the table.
- 1:57:55So, you know, what I learned is that you can make friends from
- 1:57:59all walks of life. You know, Lars and I met at an
- 1:58:02event as a pheasant hunt and became fast friends.
- 1:58:06And I've learned so much from him and, and, and interesting
- 1:58:10stuff, not only about hunting but about life.
- 1:58:12And he's a little bit older than I am.
- 1:58:14So you know that old saying my dad used to say you can learn
- 1:58:17something from everybody. Yeah.
- 1:58:20So. Yeah.
- 1:58:20And whenever you think that you're like the best in the
- 1:58:23world, just remember there's always somebody coming up the
- 1:58:26ranks. They they're, they're just not
- 1:58:29at that point yet. You can always be beatable and
- 1:58:31you can always be replaced. That's.
- 1:58:35So true, so true. So you narc narcissistic
- 1:58:38bastards out there looking. It's a bit of a pessimistic way
- 1:58:43to end the show. But hey everybody, we're glad to
- 1:58:48see you this weekend, who we have next weekend or next
- 1:58:51Friday. Question, I'm glad you put me on
- 1:58:54the spot. So next Friday got to take my
- 1:58:57glasses off because I can't see. For our guest, we have
- 1:59:03firefighter Ryan Elwyn. Oh, another.
- 1:59:05First responder. Awesome.
- 1:59:07I'm on a. Roll I'm on Awesome.
- 1:59:08All right. Well, we are going to we're
- 1:59:11we're going to call it. And remember, everybody, this
- 1:59:14Sunday is Mother's Day. Don't forget buying those roses.
- 1:59:19And remember, we're here every Friday at 10 AM Eastern Standard
- 1:59:23Time to 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
- 1:59:26And as always, like we say, we're not here for us.
- 1:59:30We're here for you, giving our veterans a voice.
- 1:59:34And letting their voices be heard, yes.
- 1:59:36I I screwed that one up. Happy mother.
- 1:59:38'S day and have a great week. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you
- 1:59:43for tuning in to Military Broadcast Radio.
