- 0:01Speaker 1: Line from the skying New Center.
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is the Kenny Report.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Welcome to the Kenny Report, coming to you tonight live
- 0:09Speaker 3: from Washington, d C. With a Cram show for you,
- 0:13Speaker 3: full of the two biggest stories in the world at
- 0:15Speaker 3: the moment, the Middle East ceasefire and the release of
- 0:17Speaker 3: the Israeli hostages, and of course the presidential inauguration, which
- 0:22Speaker 3: is less.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Than twelve hours away here in d C.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Now, it's freezing in Washington at the moment minus four
- 0:28Speaker 3: as I speak to.
- 0:29Speaker 4: You with the thermometer.
- 0:31Speaker 3: The mercury plummeting as we go, will be minus ten tomorrow,
- 0:34Speaker 3: which of course is why that presidential inauguration ceremony has
- 0:38Speaker 3: been shunted indoors changing everything in DC. But no matter
- 0:43Speaker 3: how cold it is here, Donald Trump is hot, hot, hot,
- 0:47Speaker 3: and he says he's only warming up. He had a
- 0:50Speaker 3: victory rally in the Capital One Arena in the right
- 0:53Speaker 3: in the middle of DC today, right in the middle
- 0:56Speaker 3: of the nation's capital, and Donald Trump, as is his way,
- 0:59Speaker 3: he talked about had all the serious issues, missile defense,
- 1:02Speaker 3: global trade, curtailing China, getting back the American economy. He
- 1:07Speaker 3: was also talking about TikTok and other issues.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Here's a little bit of Donald Trump today.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Once and for all.
- 1:15Speaker 4: We're going to end the reign of a failed.
- 1:19Speaker 5: And corrupt political establishment in Washington, a failed administration. We're
- 1:26Speaker 5: not going to take it anymore.
- 1:32Speaker 3: He's talking up a lot of political change there is,
- 1:35Speaker 3: Donald Trump, but there's also a lot of fear. Some
- 1:38Speaker 3: would say circus the village people. Yeah, you heard right,
- 1:43Speaker 3: the village people. And this time he had them on stage.
- 1:49Speaker 3: It's fine to see it, understand, just extraordinary stuff. So
- 2:04Speaker 3: much fun with Donald Trump. There's always fun. But the
- 2:06Speaker 3: serious business here is a political revolution now. There are
- 2:10Speaker 3: plenty of people on the right of politics, on the
- 2:13Speaker 3: conservative side of politics. Some are called the alt right,
- 2:16Speaker 3: some are called the hard right. Some just say they're
- 2:18Speaker 3: the right, the conservative mainstream, and they are celebrating the
- 2:22Speaker 3: victory of Donald Trump. They reckon this is going to
- 2:24Speaker 3: revolutionize politics in the United States and globally.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I caught up with a whole bunch of them today.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I went to their events near the Capitol in Washington,
- 2:34Speaker 3: and when we arrived there, they said they're coming even
- 2:37Speaker 3: for the Chinese Communist Party.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Gretations from Brazil. We also have the alternative to.
- 2:46Speaker 6: The Chinese comminges bored the new federal state of.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah, the coming for the CCP next. Now you might
- 3:02Speaker 3: have recognized that blog. Yes, it was Steve Bannon. He
- 3:05Speaker 3: was Donald Trump's former chief political strategist. He was the
- 3:08Speaker 3: man who really helped Donald Trump get into the White
- 3:11Speaker 3: House the first time around. In twenty sixteen, he ended
- 3:14Speaker 3: up being one of the many senior.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Advisors who got tossed out of the White House.
- 3:19Speaker 3: He went through criminal trials and served a served a
- 3:22Speaker 3: jail term over congressional hearings after that, but he is
- 3:26Speaker 3: now back leading this conservative movement. He sees incredible changes
- 3:32Speaker 3: coming in the US, around and around the world. And
- 3:34Speaker 3: I managed to get a word with him after that
- 3:36Speaker 3: event and what.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He's got to Some of his toughest warriors, the most
- 3:41Speaker 1: combat hardened, are on the outsider. We're all ready to go.
- 3:44Speaker 1: We're ready to go, particularly for tomorrow. I would tell
- 3:46Speaker 1: your audience you're about to see in twenty twenty five
- 3:49Speaker 1: a year in American politics and international politics, liberal politics
- 3:54Speaker 1: that has never been seen in modern times. So just
- 3:56Speaker 1: stand by strap.
- 3:57Speaker 4: In ordinary comments.
- 4:00Speaker 3: There a fascinating interview there with Steve Bananal had that
- 4:04Speaker 3: full interview for you later in the program. But I
- 4:07Speaker 3: want to go now to the other major story of
- 4:09Speaker 3: the day.
- 4:10Speaker 4: It is one that has captured world headlines.
- 4:12Speaker 3: For the last forty eight hours, and that is, of
- 4:14Speaker 3: course the situation in the Middle East and the ceasefire
- 4:18Speaker 3: that's come about, of course, largely because of the election
- 4:22Speaker 3: of Donald Trump. We've seen this fascinating news, this compelling us,
- 4:26Speaker 3: this joyful news today of three Israeli women, young women
- 4:30Speaker 3: who have been hostages for four hundred and seventy one
- 4:34Speaker 3: days since Humma slaughtered twelve hundred people and took over
- 4:38Speaker 3: two hundred and fifty hostages back on October the seventh,
- 4:41Speaker 3: twenty twenty three. An extraordinary trauma they've been through. But
- 4:46Speaker 3: three women, with ninety four hostages still to go, but
- 4:49Speaker 3: three women freed today. Look, I got to say we
- 5:19Speaker 3: should all have very mixed feelings about this. Of course,
- 5:22Speaker 3: joy and elation for the freed women and their families
- 5:26Speaker 3: they're finally free.
- 5:28Speaker 4: But the point is we also have to feel a
- 5:30Speaker 4: great deal of grief and.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Absolute anguish for the ninety four hostages still held.
- 5:38Speaker 4: We know many of them are dead, and.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Of course there's dozens of hostages already we know who
- 5:42Speaker 3: have been killed. Never should have been one hostage taken
- 5:46Speaker 3: for one day. These were abominable atrocities and the celebrations
- 5:52Speaker 3: of Humas playing off the media of this.
- 5:55Speaker 4: What we've seen.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Today is absolutely outrageous. And notice there in the of
- 6:00Speaker 3: the release we see Hummas militants wearing their Hummas green
- 6:04Speaker 3: bandanas back in then.
- 6:06Speaker 4: The military fatigues.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Interesting, isn't it for the last year or more that
- 6:11Speaker 3: pretended that there are only civilians in Gaza, no Hummas
- 6:15Speaker 3: operatives wearing military fatigues or the green bandanas. Now with
- 6:20Speaker 3: the ceasefire in place, they get to show that again.
- 6:23Speaker 3: It's a shocking indictment. The problem here with the world
- 6:27Speaker 3: is that Hummus should be destroyed. Hummas are a despicable
- 6:30Speaker 3: Islamus terrorist organization, yet Israel has been forced to do
- 6:34Speaker 3: deals with them, horrible repugnant deals in which thirty Hummas
- 6:39Speaker 3: convicted terrorists are released for each one of these innocent
- 6:43Speaker 3: young women taken by Hummas on October the seventh. We
- 6:48Speaker 3: welcome the freedom, of course of the innocence, but this
- 6:53Speaker 3: propaganda from Hummus and this deal making is obscene. I
- 6:58Speaker 3: hope that we're going to see more hostage just released
- 7:00Speaker 3: in the days to come. But we must be fraught
- 7:03Speaker 3: and we must be very wary about how all this
- 7:06Speaker 3: is going to unfold. I'll have a bit more, a
- 7:08Speaker 3: lot more on this issue later in the program. Now,
- 7:12Speaker 3: let me get back to the inauguration. The scene is
- 7:15Speaker 3: set here. This town is in a security lockdown. There
- 7:20Speaker 3: are police almost on every corner. There are barricades around
- 7:23Speaker 3: the streets. There are even army vehicles blocking off some
- 7:26Speaker 3: of the streets. Everything is in place for the inauguration tomorrow,
- 7:30Speaker 3: which has been moved inside because of the minus ten
- 7:33Speaker 3: degree and high windshill factors promised for tomorrow.
- 7:38Speaker 4: But of course.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Donald Trump had already planned a victory rally in Capitol
- 7:43Speaker 3: One Arena today.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Let's have a look at how that unfolded.
- 7:47Speaker 3: We won, yes, And the President of course noted his
- 8:00Speaker 3: own role in the Middle East, as so many of
- 8:02Speaker 3: us have done. There's no doubt that this ceasefire in
- 8:04Speaker 3: the Middle East would not have happened without the election
- 8:07Speaker 3: of Donald Trump, without his strong words and threats against Hummus,
- 8:11Speaker 3: And he addressed that in the rally today.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Our incoming administration has achieved all of this in the
- 8:17Speaker 5: Middle East in less than three months without being president.
- 8:21Speaker 5: We've achieved more without being president than they've achieved in
- 8:26Speaker 5: four years with being president.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Now, the other thing with Donald Trump is that he
- 8:32Speaker 3: is promising to run at breakneck speed. He is promising
- 8:36Speaker 3: to sign hundreds of executive orders starting tomorrow, well later
- 8:40Speaker 3: today d C. Time after his inauguration, he says.
- 8:43Speaker 4: He will sign at least one hundred executive orders.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Getting cracking straight straight away on tariffs, on crime, on immigration,
- 8:52Speaker 3: immigration and border control are going to be a number
- 8:55Speaker 3: one priority for Donald Trump.
- 8:57Speaker 4: And it's going to start tomorrow afternoon.
- 9:00Speaker 7: He's going to be big right across the country. Chicago's
- 9:04Speaker 7: is one in many places. We got twenty four field
- 9:07Speaker 7: office across the country. On Tuesday, you're gonna expect ICE
- 9:10Speaker 7: is finally going to go out and do their job.
- 9:12Speaker 7: We're going to take the handcuffs off ICE and let
- 9:15Speaker 7: them go arrest criminal aliens. That's what's going to happen.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Yeah, what's for a swift action when it comes to
- 9:22Speaker 3: illegal immigrants, border control and the whole border security and
- 9:26Speaker 3: immigration issues here in the United States.
- 9:28Speaker 4: And that's got big ramifications for us. Back in Australia.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Look, the Biden administration, as we all know, was slow,
- 9:35Speaker 3: was orthodox.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Was week was meandering along.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Donald Trump is going to shake things up absolutely dramatically
- 9:43Speaker 3: starting tomorrow. He's already really reshaping the global order. But
- 9:47Speaker 3: there's a big focus, of course, on what he will
- 9:49Speaker 3: say in his second inauguration speech tomorrow. He's only the
- 9:53Speaker 3: second president, the first in one hundred and thirty years,
- 9:55Speaker 3: to give to serve non consecutive terms. Wait and say
- 10:00Speaker 3: what he says tomorrow. But the first god, of course,
- 10:03Speaker 3: is what he said in his first inauguration speech back
- 10:05Speaker 3: in two thousand and seven.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Eight And have a look.
- 10:08Speaker 1: You will never be ignored again.
- 10:16Speaker 8: Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams will define our
- 10:22Speaker 8: American destiny, and your courage and goodness and love will
- 10:27Speaker 8: forever guide us along the way. Together, we will make
- 10:33Speaker 8: America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We
- 10:39Speaker 8: will make America proud again, we will make America safe again.
- 10:45Speaker 8: And yes, together we will make America great again. Thank you,
- 10:52Speaker 8: God bless you, and God bless America.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:00Speaker 4: America.
- 11:03Speaker 3: There's Donald Trump in two thousand and seven, and where
- 11:05Speaker 3: are only hours away from his second inauguration speech. A
- 11:08Speaker 3: lot of people expecting a more optimistic tome from him
- 11:11Speaker 3: this time around, but we will wait and see.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Perhaps no village people, but.
- 11:15Speaker 3: In an amazing address, and instead of being given out
- 11:18Speaker 3: the front of the Congress to hundreds of thousands of
- 11:21Speaker 3: people in the mall, it will be delivered in the
- 11:23Speaker 3: Capitol rotunda as you see behind me, only about six
- 11:26Speaker 3: hundred people there, and we'll be all over here and
- 11:29Speaker 3: bring it to you live on Sky News. But next
- 11:31Speaker 3: I want to talk about, so really what all this
- 11:33Speaker 3: means for Australia. There's issues of tariffs, there's issues of
- 11:37Speaker 3: border protection. Of course, there's the issues of global affairs
- 11:40Speaker 3: China and the Middle East. So we'll wait and see
- 11:42Speaker 3: what happens when it comes to defense as.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Well with the new Trump administration.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Now, one person who should know more about this than
- 11:49Speaker 3: anybody else is Arthur cinnadinas he's a former chief of
- 11:53Speaker 3: staff to Prime Minister John Howard, a former Liberal senator
- 11:56Speaker 3: and of course a former Australian ambassador to the United
- 11:59Speaker 3: States State.
- 12:00Speaker 4: So I caught up with him in Washington today.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Arthur sinnadenis, thanks for talking to us. Donald Trump is
- 12:07Speaker 3: already shaking up the.
- 12:08Speaker 4: World order, even before he's been inaugurated. Tell us about
- 12:11Speaker 4: the impact on ORCUS.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Because Donald Trump values alliances, but he expects allies to lift.
- 12:19Speaker 4: To do their share of the deal.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Does Australian need to do more on ORCUS to satisfy
- 12:24Speaker 3: Donald Trump?
- 12:25Speaker 9: I think the first thing is for people in Australia
- 12:27Speaker 9: to stop trying to second guess. We know a few
- 12:30Speaker 9: things about him, which is he values alliances with countries.
- 12:34Speaker 10: Like Australia, no doubt about that. We haven't heard from
- 12:36Speaker 10: him directly what he thinks about UCUS.
- 12:38Speaker 9: There's been speculation that he may ask us to do
- 12:41Speaker 9: more under that heading. We already are providing or will
- 12:44Speaker 9: provide three billion dollars into the submarine industrial base here
- 12:47Speaker 9: in the US to help build up their industrial base
- 12:51Speaker 9: to help with them providing Virginia class submarines to Australia.
- 12:55Speaker 10: So there's some room yet.
- 12:58Speaker 9: To go on this, but the message he given to
- 13:00Speaker 9: allies and partners is very clear already he does expect
- 13:03Speaker 9: other countries to be doing more, and look that's fair enough.
- 13:07Speaker 3: But he might expect us to spend more in the
- 13:10Speaker 3: near term deal.
- 13:10Speaker 9: Look that's possible, But for Australia I don't think it
- 13:15Speaker 9: becomes an argument over budget aggregates. It's actually more a
- 13:19Speaker 9: discussion around, well, okay, the way the relationship is evolving
- 13:23Speaker 9: on defense, how do we best compliment each other. What
- 13:25Speaker 9: are specific initiatives we need to do in addition.
- 13:28Speaker 10: To what we're doing already.
- 13:29Speaker 9: And part of the job of Australia is to remind
- 13:31Speaker 9: the Americans that not so much that we need them,
- 13:34Speaker 9: but they need us, and they need us because their
- 13:37Speaker 9: security is tied up in what happens in the Indo Pacific,
- 13:41Speaker 9: and to make them I think appreciate, particularly a new administration,
- 13:45Speaker 9: often with new people in it who don't know Australia
- 13:47Speaker 9: that well, the amount of stuff we are actually doing.
- 13:50Speaker 10: It's not just about aucust.
- 13:52Speaker 9: We've got all those forced posture initiatives in Northern Australia,
- 13:55Speaker 9: We've got Pine Gap, we've got Northwest Cape, all of
- 13:58Speaker 9: those facilities that we provide. So we are an integral
- 14:01Speaker 9: part of America's security. And that's the message to them
- 14:04Speaker 9: in an age where he is so focused on America first,
- 14:08Speaker 9: it's not all about a defense.
- 14:10Speaker 3: About defense and security though, is that it's a lot
- 14:12Speaker 3: also about trade and investment, and Donald Trump promises to
- 14:16Speaker 3: hit the ground running. He'll be signing executive orders this week,
- 14:20Speaker 3: and we expect tariffs.
- 14:21Speaker 4: And trade wars. How worried should Australia be about tariff's.
- 14:24Speaker 9: Well, look on tariff's first and foremost. He thinks it's
- 14:27Speaker 9: the most beautiful word in the English language. And he
- 14:29Speaker 9: thinks that tariffs are paid for by foreigners, not by Americans.
- 14:34Speaker 10: Now the cost of that will be born by Americans,
- 14:37Speaker 10: and in due.
- 14:37Speaker 9: Course we'll have to see how that goes. But in
- 14:40Speaker 9: terms of Australia, I'm relatively sanguine. We have a trade
- 14:44Speaker 9: deficit with the US, so it's not like we're screwing
- 14:47Speaker 9: the US and inverted commas on trade. And also, I
- 14:50Speaker 9: think because our economies are quite complementary.
- 14:53Speaker 10: Areas like critical minerals where we.
- 14:56Speaker 9: Need to reduce our dependence as allies and partners on
- 14:59Speaker 9: China in that area, These are all sort of areas
- 15:02Speaker 9: we can develop with the US. But I don't think
- 15:04Speaker 9: we need to be on the back foot when it
- 15:06Speaker 9: comes to the US. We bring a lot to the relationship.
- 15:10Speaker 9: We have our own interests and we will pursue our
- 15:12Speaker 9: own interests in relation to the US.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Now, tell us about that.
- 15:15Speaker 3: You've been ambassador here, you know how difficult it is
- 15:18Speaker 3: to get the attention of the administration even when you're
- 15:21Speaker 3: a key ally. The current ambassador is Kevin Rudd, the
- 15:25Speaker 3: former Prime Minister. Like millions of lefties around the world,
- 15:28Speaker 3: he's demonized Donald Trump in the past. Is he going
- 15:31Speaker 3: to be able to get the access to Australia needs.
- 15:33Speaker 9: Well, the important relationship is always between the president and
- 15:37Speaker 9: the Prime minister. Ambassadors have their role, yes, and there
- 15:41Speaker 9: are plenty of people out there who have criticized Donald
- 15:43Speaker 9: Trump in the past who are now have changed their
- 15:45Speaker 9: tune or are indeed put their hand up to work
- 15:48Speaker 9: with him, like Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State. So
- 15:51Speaker 9: my view is the important relationship will be between President
- 15:54Speaker 9: Trump and Anthony ALBERIZI can they develop the sort of
- 15:57Speaker 9: relationship that other American leaders Australian leaders have had. Anthony
- 16:01Speaker 9: Albanez he had a good relationship with President Biden. Part
- 16:04Speaker 9: of it was predicated on the fact that they had
- 16:07Speaker 9: similar backgrounds and came from similar parts of the political spectrum.
- 16:10Speaker 9: But the challenge for Australian leaders always is to have
- 16:13Speaker 9: a good relationship with the American leader whatever the politics
- 16:16Speaker 9: of either.
- 16:17Speaker 3: All Right, So, a Donald Trump's speech is always an event.
- 16:22Speaker 3: We've seen him given an inauguration speech previously. What are
- 16:25Speaker 3: you expecting to hear from him tomorrow?
- 16:27Speaker 9: Look, I think this one will be more optimistic than
- 16:31Speaker 9: the last one. The last one talked about American carnage.
- 16:33Speaker 9: He tried to paint a picture of why America was.
- 16:36Speaker 10: In a dire state and how he was going to
- 16:38Speaker 10: fix that.
- 16:39Speaker 9: I think this time around, yes, he'll have his points
- 16:41Speaker 9: about what he wants to fix, but I think it
- 16:44Speaker 9: will be more forward looking and more optimistic and talking
- 16:48Speaker 9: about unbounded peace and prosperity to come from the enactment
- 16:52Speaker 9: of his policies. So in some ways it may be
- 16:56Speaker 9: a more relaxed Donald Trump. He's had the experience of
- 16:59Speaker 9: being in gouvern before, so he knows what he wants
- 17:01Speaker 9: to do. He's got the Senate, he's got the House,
- 17:05Speaker 9: the Supreme Court, et cetera, etc.
- 17:07Speaker 10: He has all the centers of power.
- 17:10Speaker 9: So at the moment, he would feel like he has
- 17:12Speaker 9: unfettered power at least for the next two years until
- 17:14Speaker 9: the midterms. And I think, therefore, as you alluded to before,
- 17:18Speaker 9: he's going to hit the ground running. We expect up
- 17:20Speaker 9: to one hundred executive orders very quickly on tariff's border protection,
- 17:24Speaker 9: on cutting back red tape in government.
- 17:27Speaker 10: And I think the attitude, actually, interestingly.
- 17:29Speaker 9: Enough, of a lot of Democrats is okay, we can
- 17:32Speaker 9: see the election, give him his chance, Let's see what
- 17:36Speaker 9: he does, and not resist every single move, but only
- 17:39Speaker 9: go in where we think there's a particular problem. So
- 17:42Speaker 9: I think the whole atmosphere has changed, and I think
- 17:44Speaker 9: people are treating him more, not as the messiah or
- 17:48Speaker 9: the devil, but as a really accomplished, smart politician who
- 17:51Speaker 9: will be judged on his actions.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Now, what about you.
- 17:53Speaker 3: You must be loving it here in the US, otherwise
- 17:55Speaker 3: you'd be living back in oz.
- 17:57Speaker 10: Well.
- 17:57Speaker 9: Look, I got an offer to stay on and work
- 18:00Speaker 9: the Asia Group here in DC, and I've got a
- 18:02Speaker 9: son at university here. But I have to say one
- 18:04Speaker 9: things that I like about being in the US, and Elizabeth,
- 18:07Speaker 9: my wife, particularly likes, is the culture in terms of
- 18:10Speaker 9: risk taking entrepreneurship that Chris, there's just a sense here
- 18:15Speaker 9: of boundless optimism that we can do this. And in
- 18:18Speaker 9: part what Donald Trump has done is revive that sense
- 18:21Speaker 9: of Okay, there may be constraints, but we can work
- 18:24Speaker 9: our way around them.
- 18:26Speaker 10: And you know, harks back a bit.
- 18:27Speaker 9: To the way that Ronald Reagan talked about America in
- 18:31Speaker 9: his inauguration speech. I don't know whether it was the
- 18:33Speaker 9: first or the second one where he talked about and
- 18:36Speaker 9: we can do this because we are Americans, and that
- 18:39Speaker 9: sense of optimism being able to tackle big things and
- 18:42Speaker 9: get them done. You really feel that in this society.
- 18:45Speaker 9: That doesn't mean the society is perfect. We all know
- 18:48Speaker 9: every society has its strength and weaknesses. I love Australia,
- 18:51Speaker 9: but I also love the optimism and the forward looking
- 18:54Speaker 9: nature of the US.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Arthur, thanks so much for talking to us.
- 18:57Speaker 11: Great.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, optimism, it's a keyword. You're going to hear a
- 19:02Speaker 3: lot about it from Donald Trump. You can feel it
- 19:04Speaker 3: on the streets of Washington, DC at the moment, at
- 19:07Speaker 3: least from the outsiders who've come here for the inauguration.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Let's bring in now our regular US politics analyst Kristen
- 19:14Speaker 3: Tape joins us here at.
- 19:16Speaker 4: The nation's capital. Christian, the first time we've met in
- 19:18Speaker 4: the West. Great to catch up.
- 19:20Speaker 12: I know, it's so exciting. Thank you for having mere you.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Born and raised in the New England States. So this
- 19:25Speaker 3: is not even really cold for you. Tell us about
- 19:27Speaker 3: the way it's changed the event tomorrow, the fact that
- 19:30Speaker 3: it's going to have to be endorsed. We miss out
- 19:31Speaker 3: on that massive people in the mall and the parade
- 19:34Speaker 3: down Pennsylvania Avenue.
- 19:36Speaker 13: Yes, it's definitely an optics change because ideally you would
- 19:40Speaker 13: see just throngs of tens of thousands of people, hundreds
- 19:43Speaker 13: of thousands of people. Actually, they sent out I guess
- 19:46Speaker 13: a quarter million inauguration tickets for this thing, and now
- 19:50Speaker 13: it's going to be a really small and intimate event.
- 19:54Speaker 13: Perhaps there were additionally security concerns that made them bring
- 19:56Speaker 13: it inside. I mean, don't forget Donald Trump has had
- 19:59Speaker 13: several attacks, assassination attempts made on him at this.
- 20:02Speaker 12: Point, so they've got to be really careful.
- 20:04Speaker 13: But yes, it's going to be quite cold tomorrow and
- 20:06Speaker 13: the optics will change, but the message won't. And people
- 20:09Speaker 13: are very excited here about it.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Well, he had that victory rally at Capital One Arena today.
- 20:14Speaker 4: He was always going to do that.
- 20:16Speaker 3: It's really going to be repeated again tomorrow because of
- 20:19Speaker 3: the changes. But let's have a look at him today
- 20:21Speaker 3: talking about winning.
- 20:24Speaker 1: We're not going to stop winning.
- 20:27Speaker 2: The people of our country want us to keep on winning,
- 20:30Speaker 2: and we're going to go win like never ever before.
- 20:34Speaker 8: And that's what we're going to do.
- 20:38Speaker 3: It's a pretty simple way to describe Donald Trump. He's
- 20:40Speaker 3: a winner, but that's what he wants for the country.
- 20:43Speaker 3: It's one of the reasons people watch on the win.
- 20:45Speaker 13: Yes, there's a big sense of hope in America right now,
- 20:47Speaker 13: all across the country, even up.
- 20:49Speaker 12: In Boston where I live.
- 20:50Speaker 13: People are so excited for this because I've got to
- 20:53Speaker 13: tell you, Chris, here, in the US, for the last
- 20:55Speaker 13: four years, quality of life in nearly every respect has
- 20:59Speaker 13: been degraded under the Biden administration. Prices obviously are still
- 21:02Speaker 13: through the roof here. Immigration is out of control in
- 21:05Speaker 13: all corners of the country, even up in those northern states.
- 21:08Speaker 13: It's causing crime, it's causing drug use. Crime just generally
- 21:12Speaker 13: in urban areas is out of control. We all know
- 21:15Speaker 13: what's going on globally. So we are so happy finally
- 21:18Speaker 13: to have a real leader in charge here who's coming
- 21:21Speaker 13: in with confidence. Look, this is not his first time
- 21:24Speaker 13: on the merry ground. You can see it in his face.
- 21:26Speaker 13: He's a changed man. He's strong. Look at his portrait.
- 21:28Speaker 13: His presidential portrait is new one. He is showing his
- 21:31Speaker 13: strength here and I think he's coming in wanting to
- 21:34Speaker 13: get things done and quickly. He probably knows this time
- 21:37Speaker 13: around he's got about six months to really hit the
- 21:39Speaker 13: ground running on immigration, getting rid of DEI, all these things,
- 21:43Speaker 13: pardoning the J sixers. There are so many things he
- 21:47Speaker 13: touched on today that he really needs to tackle quickly,
- 21:50Speaker 13: and I think he understands that.
- 21:51Speaker 14: Now.
- 21:51Speaker 3: One issue that you've written, spoken about and seen with
- 21:55Speaker 3: your own eyes extensively is the immigration and bord of
- 21:58Speaker 3: security issue. When you ad down in Texas. The President
- 22:02Speaker 3: elect dealt with that very family any speech today.
- 22:06Speaker 2: The border security measures I will outline in my inaugural
- 22:10Speaker 2: address tomorrow will be the most aggressive, sweeping effort to
- 22:14Speaker 2: restore our borders the world.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Has ever seen.
- 22:17Speaker 5: You know, we had the best safest border in the
- 22:21Speaker 5: history of our country.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Now he's talking a tough game here at Kristin. How's
- 22:26Speaker 4: he going to go? He's actually talking and he's new
- 22:29Speaker 4: immigration ZA.
- 22:30Speaker 3: He is talking about rounding up illegally immigrants tomorrow afternoon.
- 22:34Speaker 4: That's going to be that quickly going to get on with.
- 22:36Speaker 12: This Yeah, they're going to move quickly. He said many
- 22:39Speaker 12: times that he's.
- 22:39Speaker 13: Going to start with the criminal illegal immigrants first. That
- 22:42Speaker 13: should be relatively uncontroversial. I mean even Kamala Harris said
- 22:45Speaker 13: she wanted to do that. What will really show the
- 22:48Speaker 13: resolve of this administration is that he goes further than that.
- 22:52Speaker 13: And we have Tom Hoeman as the borders are. We
- 22:55Speaker 13: have Stephen Miller, a real hardliner, as one of his
- 22:57Speaker 13: top policy advisors.
- 22:59Speaker 12: The question for me is Christy Nomes. She's the head
- 23:01Speaker 12: of DHS now.
- 23:02Speaker 13: She I hope has the strength to push this through
- 23:05Speaker 13: because every step of the way there will be legal
- 23:07Speaker 13: challenges with this. If they start doing workplace raids, which
- 23:10Speaker 13: is a big way where they find these people, where
- 23:11Speaker 13: they go into workplaces and start rounding up legal immigrants,
- 23:15Speaker 13: that is going to be challenged in court and they
- 23:17Speaker 13: need to stay strong and keep pressing through. It sounds
- 23:20Speaker 13: like he's going to do that and the resolve is there,
- 23:23Speaker 13: but she's going to really shake things up.
- 23:25Speaker 3: She's the former governor of South Dakotta. A bit of
- 23:27Speaker 3: a surprise pick, but look the rally today. There's always
- 23:31Speaker 3: something a little bit different.
- 23:32Speaker 4: With Donald Chump.
- 23:33Speaker 3: How about look at this, a little episode with Elon
- 23:35Speaker 3: Musk and he's some X.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Come here, Eylan, did you see his rocket yesterday?
- 23:44Speaker 1: It was captured?
- 23:47Speaker 4: Ah, and X is with him. X. Come on, let's
- 23:51Speaker 4: say okay, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 23:56Speaker 15: As president, sorry, little exis ball me on the stage here.
- 24:02Speaker 5: He's a very enthusiastic supporter.
- 24:04Speaker 4: As you can see.
- 24:05Speaker 16: It's a lot of good fan Christen. But I tell
- 24:13Speaker 16: you what this idea of the richest man in the
- 24:16Speaker 16: country and the president sharing the stage like this, it's
- 24:19Speaker 16: flaught with danger when you think of the task he's
- 24:22Speaker 16: given to Elon Musk and the possible conflicts.
- 24:24Speaker 13: Yes, I've written about this before. I have another piece
- 24:27Speaker 13: about this coming out in the Hill newspaper tomorrow.
- 24:30Speaker 12: This is a little bit scary.
- 24:31Speaker 13: On one hand, Elon Musk was arguably the biggest asset
- 24:35Speaker 13: to the Trump administered to the Trump campaign. He donated
- 24:38Speaker 13: tons of money to the reelection effort. Of course, he
- 24:41Speaker 13: made X much more palatable to conservatives than Twitter was.
- 24:46Speaker 13: But yeah, I mean, he's really in there with Trump.
- 24:49Speaker 13: He's trying to be Trump's shadow. And one has to
- 24:52Speaker 13: wonder where the line is here because we know Elon
- 24:55Speaker 13: Musk Reilly is not a conservative. He aligns with that's
- 24:57Speaker 13: on some issues, and that's great and I think there's
- 24:59Speaker 13: a place.
- 24:59Speaker 12: For him have influence in this administration.
- 25:02Speaker 13: But one has to wonder where that influence kind of ends.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Before I let you go a quick assessment of what
- 25:08Speaker 3: you're expecting hoping to hear in the inauguration address tomorrow.
- 25:12Speaker 13: Well, strength today, just strength, excitement and some fun. Trump
- 25:17Speaker 13: is bringing fun to this and it's fun to support him,
- 25:19Speaker 13: and it's fun to laugh at liberals.
- 25:20Speaker 12: Liberals are always so angry. They hate Trump, they call
- 25:23Speaker 12: his supporters evil. And everyone's having fun right now. They're
- 25:26Speaker 12: supporting Trump and they're just kind of happy.
- 25:29Speaker 13: And excited for what's about to come in the next
- 25:31Speaker 13: four years. And Americans are ready for America to be
- 25:35Speaker 13: strong again and frankly for the world to be strong again.
- 25:38Speaker 4: It's great to have you here in the flesh.
- 25:39Speaker 3: We're going to catch up with you every night this week, Kristin,
- 25:42Speaker 3: I look forward to picking the inauguration apart tomorrow night.
- 25:45Speaker 12: Really excited, Chris Kristen Tate.
- 25:47Speaker 4: They're live in Washington, d C.
- 25:48Speaker 11: With us.
- 25:48Speaker 4: We're going to go to our first break.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Make sure you come back after the break when I
- 25:52Speaker 3: have a look more at the reaction in the Australian
- 25:55Speaker 3: Jewish community to the release of the hostages in Israel,
- 25:58Speaker 3: and also some of the promises now to combat anti
- 26:02Speaker 3: Semitism in our own country.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Don't go away.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Let's go to the other big story dominating the world today,
- 26:12Speaker 3: and that is the bittersweet story, of course, of the
- 26:14Speaker 3: release of those three Israeli female hostages. The joy and
- 26:19Speaker 3: elation at their release, yet the despair and outrage about
- 26:23Speaker 3: the repugnant behavior of Hamas, the horrible deals done to
- 26:27Speaker 3: get these hostages released, the outrage and concern about the
- 26:31Speaker 3: hostages still being held ninety four of them by Hummas,
- 26:35Speaker 3: many of those already believed to have been dead.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Here's how Fox News reported it today.
- 26:41Speaker 15: In a mob of Hamas gunmen, three young women held
- 26:44Speaker 15: Hostagitans October seventh, twenty twenty three were transferred from Hamas
- 26:48Speaker 15: vehicles in Gaza City to Red Cross jeeps. They were
- 26:52Speaker 15: driven to Israeli special forces and ultimately to their mothers,
- 26:55Speaker 15: who waited a year and a half to see and
- 26:58Speaker 15: hold them. Of Israelis gathering at what has come to
- 27:01Speaker 15: be called Hostage Square, cheered at their liberation. Twenty four
- 27:05Speaker 15: year old Rome gonen Is from the north of Israel
- 27:08Speaker 15: captured at the Nova Music Festival. Thirty one year old
- 27:11Speaker 15: Doron Steinbracher, from a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip, was
- 27:14Speaker 15: kidnapped from her home. Twenty eight year old Emily Damerie,
- 27:17Speaker 15: who was British kidnapped from the same kibbutz. Her mother
- 27:20Speaker 15: released a statement her nightmare is already behind her, but
- 27:23Speaker 15: the impossible waiting of the rest of the families is
- 27:26Speaker 15: still going on.
- 27:29Speaker 3: I want to talk a bit a really human aspect
- 27:31Speaker 3: of this, how these developments and the anti Semitism issues
- 27:35Speaker 3: in Australia affect the Jewish community on the ground. And
- 27:38Speaker 3: we're spoken before to Jewish community member Maney Perlstein, She
- 27:42Speaker 3: joins us again, money, good to talk to you. First off,
- 27:45Speaker 3: can you share with me the feelings you thought you
- 27:49Speaker 3: and your friends and family felt about the release of
- 27:51Speaker 3: the hostages today.
- 27:55Speaker 17: Chris a mixed bag of emotions. Obviously that the hopes
- 28:02Speaker 17: and prayers of three families and a whole nation were
- 28:04Speaker 17: answered this morning with the return of Rommy, Emily and Doron.
- 28:09Speaker 17: So there was joy, but there was also a lot
- 28:12Speaker 17: of anger to see the Red Cross deliver those women
- 28:18Speaker 17: to the border of Israel and across the border into
- 28:20Speaker 17: the arms of Israelis was infuriating because we're talking about
- 28:25Speaker 17: an organization that did not go and see any of them,
- 28:29Speaker 17: or any hostage for that matter, over the last four
- 28:32Speaker 17: hundred and seventy one days.
- 28:34Speaker 12: And then there was also.
- 28:35Speaker 17: A feeling I think of in a sense devastation about
- 28:41Speaker 17: the world that the girls are coming back to, because
- 28:44Speaker 17: it is certainly not the world that they left behind.
- 28:48Speaker 17: I wonder how they're going to feel when they realize
- 28:51Speaker 17: that there wasn't one women's advocacy group that spoke up
- 28:56Speaker 17: on their behalf, that most of Hollywood, who would add
- 29:00Speaker 17: vocate for the rights of a flea or an ant,
- 29:02Speaker 17: we're not speaking up on their behalf, And that even
- 29:06Speaker 17: Western University students were glorifying their captors, who, newsflash, are
- 29:15Speaker 17: part of a terrorist organization. So a lot of mixed
- 29:17Speaker 17: emotions today, to be honest.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a terrible contradiction, isn't it.
- 29:24Speaker 3: It's a terrible realization today when you see those pictures
- 29:28Speaker 3: and you realize that there have been so many on
- 29:30Speaker 3: the political left over the past year have really been
- 29:33Speaker 3: arguing the case of those terrorists with the green bandanas
- 29:37Speaker 3: over the year, rather than pushing the interests of those
- 29:40Speaker 3: innocent women who've been taken hostage. Four hundred and seventy
- 29:43Speaker 3: one days. It's a bewildering way to look at the world.
- 29:48Speaker 3: And as you say, that's what they confront now. Now
- 29:50Speaker 3: many you have a personal connection to one of the
- 29:53Speaker 3: freed hostages, Rommi tell us about that. I actually have.
- 30:00Speaker 17: Been advocating for all of the hostages for four hundred
- 30:03Speaker 17: and seventy one days. It's become my full time obsession.
- 30:06Speaker 17: I've been to Israel twice since October seventh, twenty twenty three.
- 30:11Speaker 17: I've actually met two returned hostages and a number of
- 30:15Speaker 17: hostage families. But I did have the privilege of meeting
- 30:20Speaker 17: Rommy's mum, Mayrav in may in Israel. It was day
- 30:25Speaker 17: two hundred and twenty of Romy's captivity, so she was
- 30:30Speaker 17: only halfway through the captivity, and I had a chance
- 30:35Speaker 17: to speak to Mayrov and understand what she was going through,
- 30:40Speaker 17: what all the hostage families were going through. And the
- 30:43Speaker 17: reality is that Rommy's mum, Mayrov, prior to October seven,
- 30:47Speaker 17: was a full time mum raising five kids, and her
- 30:50Speaker 17: joy was putting dinner on the table. She was not
- 30:53Speaker 17: a woman who wanted to be in the public eye.
- 30:57Speaker 17: And I actually met with her on It was in
- 31:00Speaker 17: May the fourteenth, that was Yomhutsmaut, which which is Israeli
- 31:04Speaker 17: Independence Day.
- 31:05Speaker 4: It's a day.
- 31:06Speaker 17: Where she should have been celebrating and partying with her family,
- 31:10Speaker 17: but she'd come to meet with a small group of
- 31:12Speaker 17: us to advocate for her daughter and to beg us
- 31:15Speaker 17: to go back to our countries and speak to our
- 31:18Speaker 17: governments and our communal leaders, because she didn't feel that
- 31:22Speaker 17: the plight of the hostages was being spoken about. And
- 31:26Speaker 17: I remember saying to Meyrav that day that for such
- 31:30Speaker 17: a quiet and shy woman, not only had she stepped
- 31:33Speaker 17: into her strength, but she had also stepped into her power,
- 31:38Speaker 17: because only a month later she actually went to the
- 31:41Speaker 17: United Nations Human Rights Council and advocated for the return
- 31:45Speaker 17: of her daughter. So today is quite unbelievable.
- 31:49Speaker 3: I have to say, well, enjoy that freedom, enjoy the
- 31:57Speaker 3: victory of Rommy being released, and I know you'll keep
- 32:01Speaker 3: fighting money for the other hostages and against anti Semitism.
- 32:06Speaker 3: In Australia where there's been too little action too late.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Thanks so much for joining us. Marty Peerston live from Sydney.
- 32:14Speaker 3: We're better take a break on the other side, don't
- 32:16Speaker 3: you got I've got Jamma Chanini and Caroline are also
- 32:19Speaker 3: coming up. But after the break, I'll show you the
- 32:21Speaker 3: full interview here in Washington, d C. With Donald Trump's
- 32:25Speaker 3: former political strategist Steve Bannon. Well, as I showed you
- 32:33Speaker 3: earlier in the program, we managed to track down a
- 32:36Speaker 3: rather unique conservative event today where Donald Trump's former chief
- 32:41Speaker 3: political strategist Steve Bannon was leading the group in a
- 32:45Speaker 3: chant against the Chinese Communist Party.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Ingratiations from Grizel.
- 32:52Speaker 6: We also have the alternative to the Chinese commings Bury,
- 32:55Speaker 6: the new Federal state of Training.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Well good on them.
- 33:07Speaker 3: The Chinese Communist Party is certainly not a force for
- 33:11Speaker 3: good now. They're all here, of course for the inauguration
- 33:14Speaker 3: of Donald Trump, and I was able to catch up
- 33:16Speaker 3: with Steve Bannon and have a good chat to him
- 33:18Speaker 3: about Donald Trump two point zero.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Steve Bannon, great to talk to you.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Tell us about Sky News here, great stars of the bus.
- 33:26Speaker 1: We're we're always cutting clips from you guys all the time.
- 33:29Speaker 4: For fantastic.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Look the volatility of Donald Trump winning the election in
- 33:34Speaker 3: twenty sixteen. Nobody more knows more about that than you,
- 33:38Speaker 3: and also the controversy that followed, the legal problems, the
- 33:42Speaker 3: authorities trying to do the president.
- 33:44Speaker 4: In since the use of time yourself, is this.
- 33:48Speaker 3: The greatest political comeback in US political history?
- 33:50Speaker 1: I think it's the greatest political comeback in all political
- 33:53Speaker 1: history President Trump, and they stole the twenty twenty election
- 33:57Speaker 1: from him, and remember they fight him every step of
- 33:59Speaker 1: the way, that deep state, the administrative state. I don't
- 34:02Speaker 1: think people internationally realize that he was like a twenty
- 34:06Speaker 1: eight or twenty nine percent approval. Even part of the
- 34:08Speaker 1: MAGA movement left him. He was in mar Lago. Now
- 34:11Speaker 1: he had every opportunity just to go play golf, make money,
- 34:15Speaker 1: build golf courses out the world. He made a conscious
- 34:17Speaker 1: decision to come back, knowing that they were going to
- 34:20Speaker 1: jail him, knowing that they were going to try to
- 34:22Speaker 1: bankrupt him. He made a conscious decision to come back
- 34:25Speaker 1: because it's like the hero's journey to me. That's why
- 34:27Speaker 1: we backed up from the beginning. It was inevitable he
- 34:30Speaker 1: was going to win, but the struggle we had in
- 34:32Speaker 1: twenty one and twenty two was absolutely brutal, as he
- 34:35Speaker 1: kind of before the primary started. So this is the
- 34:37Speaker 1: greatest political comeback, and we've had four years to get ready.
- 34:40Speaker 1: We've had those policy peoples that were that were with us.
- 34:43Speaker 1: We're studying. So you're going to start to see tomorrow
- 34:46Speaker 1: after the ceremony. It's what I call days of thunder.
- 34:49Speaker 1: It's going to be on every vertical that president, everything
- 34:52Speaker 1: from the war in Ukraine to the economy, in tariffs,
- 34:55Speaker 1: particularly for the NASS deportations. You're going to see other
- 34:59Speaker 1: things about woke nus. But we've had four years to
- 35:01Speaker 1: prepare for this in a policy and to build a team.
- 35:04Speaker 1: These are politically combat hardened veterans, and you're going to
- 35:07Speaker 1: see some stuff. I think it's are shock people.
- 35:09Speaker 4: That's the big question.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Isn't that there was so much chaos in that first administration,
- 35:13Speaker 3: such a high turnover of stoff seeing you stop, including yourself.
- 35:17Speaker 3: How much better prepared He's Donald Trump and he's team
- 35:20Speaker 3: this time around.
- 35:21Speaker 1: If you go back, and not to defend the first term,
- 35:23Speaker 1: but everything we got done in that first six months
- 35:25Speaker 1: or eight months, as they said, it us chaos. The deregulation,
- 35:28Speaker 1: the tax cut, the reorientation of the army in the military.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Eighteen and nineteen, those great years where the economy was
- 35:36Speaker 1: on a roll, and Trumpet delivered peace and prosperity. Right,
- 35:39Speaker 1: No wars, didn't start your wars, no real fighting anywhere
- 35:43Speaker 1: on the planet. And we had prosperity. We had over
- 35:47Speaker 1: three percent real growth, low inflation, low interest rates. If
- 35:50Speaker 1: you see the debacle, and this is just the neoliberal,
- 35:53Speaker 1: neo con mentality of it. That's not Biden and radical Democrats.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Wall Street's been in back of this, the apartheid state
- 36:00Speaker 1: of a Silicon Valley with the oligarchs. We're in back
- 36:03Speaker 1: of this. They drove this. And now President Trump's coming
- 36:06Speaker 1: back and much more prepared. But the situation we have
- 36:09Speaker 1: now is five times more dire than we took over
- 36:12Speaker 1: from President Obama. This right now we have, you know,
- 36:16Speaker 1: the beginning of the kinetic part of the Third World
- 36:18Speaker 1: War on the Eurasian land mass. Okay, we have a
- 36:21Speaker 1: massive financial crisis here with thirty six three dollars in debt,
- 36:24Speaker 1: and people in your audience understand, we're adding a treeion
- 36:27Speaker 1: dollars in debt every hundred days. He's got to deal
- 36:29Speaker 1: with that. Plus we have to deport eleven million to
- 36:32Speaker 1: twelve million illegal alien invaders. So just the work at
- 36:34Speaker 1: the BETT is at a scale. And that's why, even
- 36:37Speaker 1: being prepared, people have to understand it's not going to
- 36:41Speaker 1: be chaotic because it's thought through, but the resistance of
- 36:44Speaker 1: the Democrats and the radicals in our country and the
- 36:46Speaker 1: globalists are going to be as intense as anything you've
- 36:48Speaker 1: ever seen.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Well, Donald Trump says it's still going to start tomorrow.
- 36:51Speaker 3: In many ways, it started already to change in the
- 36:53Speaker 3: world order with the breakthrough in the Middle East.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Tell us about the big names.
- 36:57Speaker 3: That he's appointing to his cabinet today gets of course Bondie,
- 37:02Speaker 3: Rubio Mosque, who are going to be the stars who
- 37:05Speaker 3: are going to create problems.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I think if you see the cabinet confirmation process last week,
- 37:10Speaker 1: even more important than the ceasefire in the Middle East
- 37:13Speaker 1: was Marc ro Rubio, Pete Heseth and Scott Bessett. Particularly
- 37:18Speaker 1: for an Australian audience. Marco Rubio ran through and literally said,
- 37:22Speaker 1: we are seeing the end of the post World War
- 37:24Speaker 1: two liberal rules based order. It's collapsed, it's been gained
- 37:28Speaker 1: and the globalization doesn't work anymore. The only pushback he got.
- 37:32Speaker 1: He didn't get pushed back from Democrats because they really
- 37:34Speaker 1: are so back on their hind foot. It was really Republicans,
- 37:37Speaker 1: some of the establishment Republicans. Pete Heseth talked about an
- 37:41Speaker 1: infusion of the warrior ethos into our military, that we're
- 37:44Speaker 1: now we're going to look to win wars, win him quickly,
- 37:46Speaker 1: not be dragged out forever. But Scott Besst really had
- 37:49Speaker 1: the most powerful which talked about the centrality of the
- 37:52Speaker 1: United States and the world economy in the bond market.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Every nation on Earth right now has got a problem
- 37:57Speaker 1: with too much spending, got a problem with how you
- 37:59Speaker 1: financed that spending. So you're going to see a coordinated effort,
- 38:02Speaker 1: and I think the three big power players coming out
- 38:04Speaker 1: will be He said that the Fans who will get
- 38:07Speaker 1: confirmed Rubio at State and Scott bess And at Treasury.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Finally the Democrats the Liberal lift.
- 38:14Speaker 4: They seem to have learned nothing.
- 38:16Speaker 3: There's no self examination about their policies or their personnel.
- 38:19Speaker 4: It's all still.
- 38:20Speaker 3: About how Donald Trump's going to just destroy the joints.
- 38:23Speaker 4: They don't show any signs of learning. Is it already now?
- 38:27Speaker 4: Likely that as long as.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Donald Trump has a decent second term, JD Vance will
- 38:31Speaker 3: get the nomination.
- 38:32Speaker 4: And win in four years time.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Well, I don't know about the future on that type
- 38:37Speaker 1: of pologies, I tell you right now, Let's talk about
- 38:39Speaker 1: the Democrats. What is shocking, I think to people because
- 38:42Speaker 1: the Senate is supposed to be where their intellectual center
- 38:44Speaker 1: of gravity is. Last week's Confirmation hearings were humiliating for
- 38:50Speaker 1: the Democrats. They had no real pushback on major areas
- 38:53Speaker 1: of global finance, of the end of the rules based
- 38:55Speaker 1: order of American first, foreign policy and national security policy,
- 38:58Speaker 1: of which Australia is went of our great allies right
- 39:01Speaker 1: particularly in the in the hot zone of East Asia,
- 39:05Speaker 1: the Indo Pacific theater, and the naval and military assets
- 39:09Speaker 1: in Australia as a trading partner. No pushback it off
- 39:13Speaker 1: from the Democrats. They are bankrupt of ideas and here's
- 39:16Speaker 1: why for so many years they rested on Wall Street
- 39:19Speaker 1: in the media to carry them and the apartheid state
- 39:22Speaker 1: of Silicon Valley. People are running around at these oligarchs. Remember,
- 39:25Speaker 1: up until a couple of weeks ago, all the oligarchs
- 39:27Speaker 1: are progressive Democrats. They fully tomorrow at the ceremony. They're
- 39:31Speaker 1: making a big deal that Elon must be in there
- 39:33Speaker 1: in Zuckerberg, you know Trump's that's a surrender ceremony. It's
- 39:37Speaker 1: like being on the battleship Missouri in Tokyo Harbor in
- 39:40Speaker 1: September of nineteen forty five, and there they're the Imperial
- 39:44Speaker 1: Japanese High Command and Donald Trump's MacArthur right, and they're
- 39:48Speaker 1: signing a surrender document. They are col telling Trump, they're
- 39:51Speaker 1: coming up and saying, can you take a million dollar check?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Can you take a twenty million dollar check? What they
- 39:55Speaker 1: were progressive Democrats. What it shows you is that we
- 39:58Speaker 1: broke we broke the globalists in this country. Now they're
- 40:01Speaker 1: still very strong. It's still embedded in the administrative in
- 40:03Speaker 1: deep state. That's what's going to make this so intense.
- 40:06Speaker 1: But in this massive victory we had on Nomber fifth,
- 40:09Speaker 1: particularly bringing in African American and Hispanic working class families
- 40:13Speaker 1: is changing the direction of our country. It's a realignment
- 40:16Speaker 1: almost like nineteen thirty two. We're not there yet, but
- 40:19Speaker 1: we're going to get there.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Any official role for you in the administration at all, No, If.
- 40:23Speaker 1: You look at all the players from the first administration,
- 40:26Speaker 1: Jared Kushner, Avanka Kelly Ann, myself, Dave Bassi, Corey Lewandowski,
- 40:32Speaker 1: Jason Miller, Boris Epstein, all of us are on the outside.
- 40:35Speaker 1: And here's the reason. President Trump's got a really good
- 40:38Speaker 1: team for a White House staff. They're relatively young, right,
- 40:40Speaker 1: but it's a good, tight team. He's got great cabinet secretaries.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Go rely a lot on the cabinet. He needs, what
- 40:46Speaker 1: we found out for the first term. You need people
- 40:48Speaker 1: that you trust in our hammers on the outside that
- 40:51Speaker 1: can push the agenda and push the narrative. And what
- 40:54Speaker 1: he's got is some of his toughest warriors, the most
- 40:56Speaker 1: combat hardened, are on the outside. But we're all ready
- 40:59Speaker 1: to go, ready to go, particularly for tomorrow. I would
- 41:01Speaker 1: tell your audience you're about to see in twenty twenty
- 41:04Speaker 1: five a year in American politics and international politics and
- 41:08Speaker 1: Libal politics that has never been seen in modern times.
- 41:11Speaker 1: So just stand by strap In.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Steve Mannon, thanks for talking to us.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Thank you, Love Sky Love and we love the guys
- 41:17Speaker 1: in Australia. We love you guys.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Extraordinary stuff. There are a lot of food for thought.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Agree with him, will disagree with him. I think The
- 41:24Speaker 3: central point here is that in ten hours time, at
- 41:26Speaker 3: a ceremony under that capital doom, that Capital Dome, the world,
- 41:31Speaker 3: the geopolitical outlook in this planet, and of course what's
- 41:36Speaker 3: happening here in the United States is going to change dramatically.
- 41:40Speaker 3: After this break, going to catch up with Gematon Uni
- 41:42Speaker 3: and Caroline giusso find out what they make of all
- 41:44Speaker 3: of this. The Kenny Report coming to you live from Washington,
- 41:52Speaker 3: DC tonight, as we count down the next ten hours
- 41:56Speaker 3: to the second inauguration of Donald Trump under the Capitol Dome.
- 42:00Speaker 3: There behind me, let's cross back the city now catch
- 42:02Speaker 3: up with a couple of my great mates and a
- 42:04Speaker 3: couple of great commentators in Jemma, ton Yuni and Caroline
- 42:10Speaker 3: Dusso great to see you both on the desk in Sydney,
- 42:13Speaker 3: and I'm.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Not there, guys.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Let's get your thoughts on what's unfolding so much to digest.
- 42:18Speaker 3: It's got to you first, Caroline, what are your thoughts
- 42:20Speaker 3: on the hostage release, the mixed feelings so many of
- 42:23Speaker 3: us have about what we've seen unfolded.
- 42:27Speaker 18: It was just confronting all of it, confronting, and I
- 42:30Speaker 18: think particularly those photos where you just saw this sea
- 42:34Speaker 18: of her mass and this one lonely woman just trying
- 42:39Speaker 18: to hold it together long enough, that last little bit
- 42:42Speaker 18: to get to safety after fifteen months in captivity. I
- 42:45Speaker 18: think that photo is going to be seed into the
- 42:48Speaker 18: memory of a lot of us for a long time.
- 42:52Speaker 18: I can't help it thinking in so many ways it's
- 42:54Speaker 18: such a terrible deal. But I tell you what, if
- 42:57Speaker 18: I was the family of what the family of one
- 42:59Speaker 18: of those hostages, you would do absolutely anything to get
- 43:04Speaker 18: your family back. So, you know, I think there are
- 43:06Speaker 18: going to be very mixed feelings on both sides, and
- 43:09Speaker 18: it'll just you know, we all just got to wait
- 43:11Speaker 18: and see how all this plays out, not just this
- 43:14Speaker 18: part now, this first forty two days, but into the future.
- 43:17Speaker 18: How long until Hamas can hold it together before they
- 43:20Speaker 18: send a rocket over the fence.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Jemmy, you've written and spoken so passionately about this for
- 43:27Speaker 3: so long. You've been to Israel twice since the October
- 43:31Speaker 3: the seventh atrocities.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Tell us about your thoughts about this deal.
- 43:35Speaker 3: How we going to see it unfolding coming days as
- 43:37Speaker 3: we hope for more hostages to be released.
- 43:39Speaker 4: But the role also of Donald Trump and bringing this about.
- 43:45Speaker 14: It's really important to understand that none of us, obviously
- 43:49Speaker 14: myself included, are experts in hostage negotiations, and essentially, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 14: a swap of innocent civilians for convicted terrorists, rapists, and murders.
- 44:00Speaker 14: The world has been conned and Israel has been villified.
- 44:03Speaker 14: This wouldn't be happening without Donald Trump and what he said,
- 44:07Speaker 14: what was about three or four weeks ago. If it's
- 44:09Speaker 14: not done by the twentieth, Heaven help you. Everybody knows
- 44:12Speaker 14: that any commentary or any observation that this was anything
- 44:15Speaker 14: to do with the Biden administration is fantasy. I think
- 44:19Speaker 14: the other thing that's really important to understand that this
- 44:21Speaker 14: is by the wording of President ntsan Yahu and a
- 44:25Speaker 14: Prime minister rather net Yaha and President Trump, a temporary ceasefire.
- 44:30Speaker 14: It is a staged temporary ceasefire. There is a lot
- 44:33Speaker 14: of water under the bridge. We saw yesterday in the
- 44:36Speaker 14: last twenty four hours that this first prisoner release was
- 44:41Speaker 14: delayed because Kamas.
- 44:43Speaker 12: Broke the clause.
- 44:45Speaker 14: They broke the conditions of that release. First up, they
- 44:48Speaker 14: did they didn't release the names, and they weren't intending
- 44:50Speaker 14: to release the names. We know that in that staged approach.
- 44:54Speaker 14: There are very strict conditions that AMUS must meet in
- 44:58Speaker 14: order for Israel to cease temporarily its military operation. What
- 45:03Speaker 14: I want people there might be some of some people
- 45:05Speaker 14: watching tonight, Chris, who are on the fence. And if
- 45:07Speaker 14: you're on the fence and you watch the vision of
- 45:09Speaker 14: that sea of cowardly masked men armed to the teeth
- 45:15Speaker 14: surrounding three young women who were dragged, two dragged from
- 45:19Speaker 14: their homes, one dragged from the Nova festival. Chris, I
- 45:22Speaker 14: was at Kefaza not three weeks ago, and that's where
- 45:26Speaker 14: two of those three women were dragged from. And I
- 45:28Speaker 14: can't tell you the devastation. Someone said to me today, Oh,
- 45:31Speaker 14: what's it like for people you know who live there?
- 45:33Speaker 4: Now?
- 45:33Speaker 14: Nobody is living on those keyboardzes. Now it's fifteen months later,
- 45:36Speaker 14: and nobody's living there because that's where their families and
- 45:39Speaker 14: friends were slaughtered in an absolute violent orgy. The West,
- 45:44Speaker 14: the useful idiots in the West have been had, absolutely had,
- 45:49Speaker 14: And I hope they're looking at today's scenes out of
- 45:52Speaker 14: Gaza with absolute shame and embarrassment.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it was sickening to see.
- 45:59Speaker 3: And I want to bring the debate back home with
- 46:03Speaker 3: just other point on that gem of though, it is
- 46:04Speaker 3: important that we need Donald Trump to keep the pressure
- 46:08Speaker 3: on here. This deal is, yeah, it is so fragile,
- 46:12Speaker 3: there are so many steps to it, and Donald Trump
- 46:14Speaker 3: needs to keep the focus on that, and it needs
- 46:17Speaker 3: the international community to.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Back him in doing that. But I want to bring
- 46:20Speaker 4: the debate back home.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Into Australia where we've seen such horrible acts of anti
- 46:24Speaker 3: Semitism escalating all the time, firebombings now in the suburbs.
- 46:29Speaker 3: And from Chris Men's the New South Wales Premier, we
- 46:32Speaker 3: suddenly get this push to strengthen the laws, to strengthen
- 46:36Speaker 3: the hate speech laws. Here's the New South Wales Premier.
- 46:40Speaker 4: The initial spark is hate speech.
- 46:42Speaker 11: In our community and our government's going to make a
- 46:46Speaker 11: decision soon, a difficult decision, but the right one I believe,
- 46:49Speaker 11: to strengthen hate speech laws in New South Wales. So
- 46:52Speaker 11: is that if someone's preaching hatred in the community, it
- 46:57Speaker 11: doesn't manifest itself two months or three months later in
- 47:00Speaker 11: a firebombing or an attack or something worse.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Caroline, We've needed stronger actions since October the eighth, twenty
- 47:10Speaker 3: twenty three, so many people have been calling for it.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Why does it take till now for some politicians to.
- 47:16Speaker 18: Act because it's finally manifested into violence and fire bombing
- 47:22Speaker 18: is absolute violence. I know, Chris, you've shown the clip
- 47:26Speaker 18: several times in your show over the last fifteen months
- 47:28Speaker 18: of the celebrations on October the seventh, and if we
- 47:32Speaker 18: did not have the necessary laws in place at the time,
- 47:37Speaker 18: those conversations should have been had back then. But they
- 47:40Speaker 18: were happening quietly away, and there wasn't this affront, this
- 47:45Speaker 18: direct affront of violence that we are now seeing escalate
- 47:49Speaker 18: into the community. So the political class thought that they
- 47:51Speaker 18: could get away with it. The other point is, Chris,
- 47:54Speaker 18: if you've got laws, and regardless of the laws you have,
- 47:56Speaker 18: there needs to be enforcement. So you can have as
- 47:59Speaker 18: pretty words as you like, but.
- 48:00Speaker 4: They need absolutely.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Absolutely well, said Caroline Carolina also and Gematonini, thanks so
- 48:08Speaker 3: much for joining us.
- 48:09Speaker 4: I need to wrap up the program.
- 48:11Speaker 3: I do want to finish on a lighter note, a
- 48:13Speaker 3: happier note. So let's go back to Donald Trump and
- 48:16Speaker 3: that victory rally held.
- 48:18Speaker 4: In Washington, d C. Today.
- 48:21Speaker 6: Come on, everybody, it's fun to see it.
- 48:27Speaker 17: Understand it.
- 48:46Speaker 10: Still contive yourself.
- 48:51Speaker 3: And in ten hours from now, that man is going
- 48:54Speaker 3: to be inaugurated in that building as the US President
- 48:58Speaker 3: for the second time.
- 48:59Speaker 4: We'll have more on that tomorrow night here Arlive at five.
- 49:03Speaker 4: For now he is Peter Credlin.
