- 0:40Be fresh.
- 0:51Ride, ride the wave. Ride the wave.
- 1:00That edge of the wave right in on it be right there at the forefront you know
- 1:06leading everything be new and fresh and just right there at the forefront just.
- 1:20It's hard to do,
- 1:25when all you can do is be yourself. I don't know what else to be,
- 1:31and yet I keep asking myself, are you interesting enough for this thing called
- 1:40followers, people to follow you?
- 1:48Oh man i just wanted to talk i just wanted to be me i'm a theatrical person,
- 1:56i like to be on stage and i love speaking i love speaking to people i love storytelling
- 2:03i am a narrator i am an orator I am an emcee.
- 2:08I want to speak.
- 2:10And I have found that at times, things that I say are received well.
- 2:17And almost even sometimes, dare I say, people say, Hey!
- 2:24That was kind of intelligent.
- 2:29Although it wasn't intelligent to come into this room without water,
- 2:32without any beverage whatsoever, I am dying of thirst.
- 2:38I am crossing the safari, the sand dunes.
- 2:45I am experiencing heat and dry.
- 2:48My throat, like cotton, like swallowing a hundred crackers with no water.
- 2:58Dry like the sand.
- 3:01About to cease in its ability to create tone, word, volume, to speak to people.
- 3:15People is people. People is people.
- 3:28I wish to come off as personable, friendly, likable.
- 3:36I feel as though I am more a pessimist, kind of bitchy, a snob, an elitist,
- 3:50detached, unaware, ignorant, vulgar.
- 4:00Vulgar okay let me say it let me just say it are you ready,
- 4:06here we go fuck,
- 4:13fuck,
- 4:16fuck,
- 4:20i don't feel better for saying that i'm just got to say that i don't i don't
- 4:24feel better i don't feel more energized i don't feel more wonderful i don't
- 4:28it didn't give me anything it it was loud it was a sensation it was,
- 4:36outrageous it was uh,
- 4:40barely palatable.
- 4:45Profanity though you know i don't know there's fuck there's shit there's bullshit,
- 4:58and then you say it and it changes who is allowed to watch,
- 5:06it changes who your voice gets to reach because you said fuck shit,
- 5:17ass.
- 5:27Focusing on that you realize is ignorant it has no bearing on the reality of
- 5:34life it's just a philosophy to argue over,
- 5:39by people who have too much time on their hands,
- 5:50Argue about the stuff Oh, you see? You see what happened?
- 5:54I wanted to say argue about the shit that matters But the genteel part of me
- 6:01was Argue about the things that matter, darling,
- 6:05Argue about the things that matter,
- 6:10argue about the shit that matters,
- 6:15that matters.
- 6:19Why do so few people have so much?
- 6:34Why are we ignoring not ignoring the steps we're taking our baby steps little
- 6:42baby steps when it comes to doing our part to make sure that the earth continues,
- 6:49and doesn't die under our watch,
- 6:55baby steps we're taking baby steps,
- 7:00in order for us to succeed at that you do realize life will have to change dramatically,
- 7:06for everyone especially those in metropolises cities large cities,
- 7:16life will need to change dramatically,
- 7:20it would become something,
- 7:23not what you're living right now and you guys can't even freaking deal with
- 7:29plugs for cars and i say you guys because,
- 7:34i don't drive i walk everywhere i've gotten to that point in my life where i
- 7:39just walk and if i can't walk to it then i don't want to be there.
- 7:47I focus on the people around me i've said this before and i'll say it again,
- 7:53I focus on the people around me, the people in my building, my apartment building.
- 7:59I get to know them. I have gotten to know them. I'm involved in their woes.
- 8:05I'm here as a support mechanism to let them know they're not alone.
- 8:11And yeah, it can be taxing, but it's also extraordinarily rewarding to.
- 8:20To feel like you're part of a community to know people that actually have your back as you have theirs,
- 8:30why aren't we doing this more often what's with the isolation what's with the
- 8:34not knowing anyone in your apartment building that has got to stop,
- 8:40get involved get to know when was nosy bad nosy,
- 8:48is the person who calls the police because margaret next door looked like she
- 8:53was struggling with that man
- 8:55through the kitchen window who was in her kitchen knocking her upside the head
- 9:00so i called the cops nosy saved margaret that day,
- 9:07since when did nosy become bad it's not nosy when you're paying attention to your neighbors.
- 9:14Just don't do it with judgment. You know what I'm saying?
- 9:18Don't watch them because you're looking for things you want to argue about,
- 9:22to be dissatisfied about, to critique.
- 9:26That's not being neighborly. Be neighborly.
- 9:31Everybody's coming with their own story. Some of them are wild,
- 9:36outrageous, unbelievable, terrifying.
- 9:41They're all coming with their own stories.
- 9:44Don't be afraid to get involved and get to know them.
- 9:48Give what you can and let them give what they can. Become a community, a family.
- 9:54Integrate your resources. Oh, what a scary concept.
- 9:58An apartment building where everybody shares. Oh.
- 10:06Well, we have to because we want change. And this allows us to not participate
- 10:14in that which is necessarily mass appeal, which is why I'm no good at this game.
- 10:20This podcast follower watch me game. I suck. I've been doing this for years.
- 10:29I've worked my butt off. I've worked my ass off to figure this out.
- 10:37I taught myself everything, how to put the podcast together,
- 10:40how to operate the cameras, the right microphones to buy, everything,
- 10:43everything, the amplifier, lighting. I just, oh, oh, lighting, shoot.
- 10:51Lighting. And God said, there's the lighting. It's too bright.
- 10:57It's not set correctly. Here we go.
- 11:02Here we go,
- 11:06and now it's set correctly.
- 11:11Oh, because I am just dismal looking. And somehow these lights make me look a little dismal.
- 11:19Not a lot dismal. Not at this, you know, at death's door.
- 11:27Sucks.
- 11:30Look at you. I'm a big fat boy. I don't know how much longer I got to live.
- 11:40Just trying,
- 11:43to do what I know I'm an emcee I'm an orator I'm a host I like to talk,
- 11:52I had fun bye.
