- 0:00Speaker 1: Correspondent Trey Yinks, who spoke to the President earlier today
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Tel Aviv, Israel. Benjamin, we'll start with you first.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Please do share with us your thoughts from your unique
- 0:10Speaker 1: perspective on this moment.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You know, first of all, I can't stop watching these
- 0:16Speaker 2: videos of the hostas being reunited with their families. I mean,
- 0:19Speaker 2: it is absolutely amazing to see, and I think it
- 0:22Speaker 2: represents the pivotal moment we are in because you look
- 0:25Speaker 2: at those videos and you look back, first of all,
- 0:27Speaker 2: and you remember the horror that's happened. You remember October seventh,
- 0:30Speaker 2: you remember the war that's been going on for two years,
- 0:33Speaker 2: and that is the moment where things change and then
- 0:36Speaker 2: you start looking ahead to the future. Now that is
- 0:38Speaker 2: true for these families, but it's also true for the region.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You look back over the last couple of years and
- 0:43Speaker 2: you see a region that was at war with one another.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You see a region where Hesbula Hamas, the who this Iran,
- 0:50Speaker 2: the Shia militias in Iraq Syria were strong. That has
- 0:54Speaker 2: changed and new allegiances have been born as well. President
- 0:57Speaker 2: Trump being very close to Saudi Arabia, could the UAE
- 1:00Speaker 2: building up those relationships his incredible relationship with Israel. So
- 1:04Speaker 2: all of these things have happened to bring us to
- 1:06Speaker 2: this moment, and President Trump personally has almost done it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Two weeks since the twenty point piece plan was first
- 1:12Speaker 2: being discussed, and already they are there. But now we
- 1:14Speaker 2: have to look ahead. We know how difficult it will
- 1:17Speaker 2: be for these families perhaps over the coming years to
- 1:20Speaker 2: get over the PTSD and in difficulty, and it may
- 1:22Speaker 2: also be difficult for the region. But that's where Phase
- 1:25Speaker 2: two comes into play. And we saw all those world
- 1:27Speaker 2: leaders sitting there listening to President Trump, and I think
- 1:31Speaker 2: what we have to remember is the money is there,
- 1:34Speaker 2: the will is there, but can they turn that and
- 1:37Speaker 2: make Phase to a success. On the ground, They've got
- 1:39Speaker 2: the plans in place, the International Stabilization Fund. Indonesia has
- 1:43Speaker 2: said twenty thousand of its troops can go and play
- 1:46Speaker 2: a part in that if they say there is un approval,
- 1:49Speaker 2: But the question is whether or not it can be
- 1:51Speaker 2: moving forward. President Trump has effectively given this opportunity to
- 1:55Speaker 2: the Middle East, a region that wants to look beyond
- 1:57Speaker 2: oil and gas money, a region that wants to look
- 1:59Speaker 2: to work its wealth and the AI tech era. So
- 2:03Speaker 2: can they take this opportunity that has been given to them.
- 2:05Speaker 2: That is a big question. You look back, you remember
- 2:07Speaker 2: the sadness, you remember the horrors, But right now is
- 2:10Speaker 2: a moment where you have so much hope and optimism
- 2:12Speaker 2: and you just hope that they can grab it both
- 2:14Speaker 2: for Israel, for the region, for the Palestinians, and all
- 2:17Speaker 2: of these things that have been broken and burst over
- 2:19Speaker 2: the last few decades, in the even perhaps centuries.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Absolutely, and Trey, you had the opportunity to speak with
- 2:24Speaker 1: President Trump earlier. This was a big moment in the
- 2:28Speaker 1: celebrations today when Benjamin Nettnyaho thanked President Trump. This is
- 2:33Speaker 1: call four three guys. If we have it teed up, Okay,
- 2:38Speaker 1: let me just read it to you directly, Trey, Donald
- 2:41Speaker 1: Trump is the greatest friend that the State of Israel
- 2:43Speaker 1: has ever had in the White House. Mister President, you
- 2:45Speaker 1: are committed to this piece. I am committed to this piece,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and together, mister President, we will achieve this piece. Give
- 2:53Speaker 1: us your thoughts, Trey. After speaking to the President earlier, Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Sandra, I spoke with President Trump earlier today, and what
- 3:01Speaker 3: stood out to me is how much he actually cares
- 3:04Speaker 3: about the region and the people here. This is the
- 3:06Speaker 3: most powerful man in the world, and yet he purposefully
- 3:10Speaker 3: delayed his schedule so he could spend more time with
- 3:13Speaker 3: the families of hostages and hostages who had been freed
- 3:16Speaker 3: in previous deals that he supported. And when you think
- 3:21Speaker 3: about what this means, it means that you have a
- 3:24Speaker 3: leader who is looking toward the future with an understanding
- 3:27Speaker 3: of the realities on the ground. And those realities are
- 3:30Speaker 3: that Israel is a population of nearly ten million people,
- 3:34Speaker 3: the Gaza Strip is a population of more than two
- 3:36Speaker 3: million people, and the president has a vision for a
- 3:40Speaker 3: future of the Middle East that would not have all
- 3:43Speaker 3: of the violence and war that has ravished the Middle
- 3:47Speaker 3: East for the past two years, as we've seen inside
- 3:49Speaker 3: the Gaza Strip with the death and destruction following a
- 3:52Speaker 3: horrific massacre on October seventh, and so this really does
- 3:55Speaker 3: feel like a moment of change for the Middle East,
- 3:58Speaker 3: an opportunity for countries around the world to come together.
- 4:02Speaker 3: And the President, in his remarks that the Israeli kanesseen,
- 4:05Speaker 3: made that very point. He said from cities and states
- 4:09Speaker 3: around the world that people should come together, and he
- 4:13Speaker 3: almost alluded to the fact that there are going to
- 4:15Speaker 3: be more normalization deals broken by the Trump administration with
- 4:19Speaker 3: countries like Indonesia, for example, or countries like Iraq, Evan
- 4:24Speaker 3: or Syria, possibly Lebanon. He even extended an olive branch
- 4:27Speaker 3: to Iran, a country that he targeted with airstrikes over
- 4:31Speaker 3: the summer to stop the country from developing its nuclear
- 4:34Speaker 3: program and going after a nuclear bomb. The bottom line
- 4:38Speaker 3: here is that this president is looking for peace and
- 4:40Speaker 3: he capitalized on this with this meeting in Charmel Shak, Egypt,
- 4:44Speaker 3: bringing together these world leaders that have the money and
- 4:47Speaker 3: influence to actually get it done in the region. Because
- 4:50Speaker 3: while the President wants to usher in this new chapter,
- 4:53Speaker 3: he's made very clear he doesn't want US boots on
- 4:55Speaker 3: the ground inside Gaza. He's willing to have sent Com
- 4:58Speaker 3: forces and advice role to ensure that this peace plan
- 5:02Speaker 3: moves forward. But this is a regional plan that ultimately
- 5:06Speaker 3: could lead to prosperity and stability across the Middle East,
- 5:10Speaker 3: something the region has not seen in decades.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Excellent interview with the President earlier Trey Yank's Benjamin Hall.
