- 0:00Speaker 1: Coach, obviously a game, a loss in overtime. What was
- 0:03Speaker 1: the message to the team after collecting them in the
- 0:06Speaker 1: locker room and, you know, seeing the effort they put
- 0:08Speaker 1: forth today?
- 0:10Speaker 2: Yeah, not that desired outcome that we wanted, you know,
- 0:14Speaker 2: but I think, you know, multiple opportunities for our team
- 0:17Speaker 2: to respond to really tough moments, you know, down a
- 0:20Speaker 2: few scores multiple times and we kept fighting back and
- 0:23Speaker 2: kept playing and, you know, we just you know, it
- 0:27Speaker 2: didn't make a couple of plays in some tough moments
- 0:29Speaker 2: when we needed to make them, you know, but I'm
- 0:30Speaker 2: really proud of our football team. I mean, again, like
- 0:34Speaker 2: I said, like I didn't think the response, I said
- 0:35Speaker 2: it publicly last week, I didn't think the response to
- 0:37Speaker 2: some tough moments really was in our favor last week,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but it certainly was today, you know, in a lot
- 0:42Speaker 2: of ways and, you know, some others it wasn't. And,
- 0:45Speaker 2: you know, we got to find a way to make
- 0:46Speaker 2: the critical plays when it matters and, you know, knock
- 0:48Speaker 2: the ball down at the end there. And, you know,
- 0:50Speaker 2: on the fourth down on offense and regulation, we got to,
- 0:53Speaker 2: you know, we've got to get the ball to the,
- 0:54Speaker 2: you know, get the protection right and get the ball
- 0:55Speaker 2: to the right player. But, you know, um, I think that,
- 0:59Speaker 2: you know, quarterback hung in there and did some really,
- 1:01Speaker 2: really good stuff. He got hit a bunch today and
- 1:03Speaker 2: hung in there and tough, toughed it out, fought like
- 1:05Speaker 2: a warrior. And then there's a lot of other guys
- 1:07Speaker 2: that fall in that boat too. So I'm proud of
- 1:08Speaker 2: him for that. There's no moral victories in this sport.
- 1:10Speaker 2: We all know that. And, um, you know, this one's
- 1:12Speaker 2: going to hurt tonight, but we've got to shake back
- 1:14Speaker 2: and we've got to find the positives and build off
- 1:16Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: There were a number of, uh, ebbs and flows in
- 1:20Speaker 1: that second half emotionally for the team, um, obviously losing
- 1:23Speaker 1: a teammate in the way that they did for the
- 1:25Speaker 1: rest of the game. So what did you see about
- 1:27Speaker 1: them in that moment, particularly on the sideline of moving forward,
- 1:31Speaker 1: but then they were able to do through the rest
- 1:32Speaker 1: of the game?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Well, the emotions and the momentum of a college football
- 1:35Speaker 2: game are hard enough and not alone to see one
- 1:38Speaker 2: of your brothers go down like that. So praying for
- 1:40Speaker 2: Javon and, um, hoping he's doing okay. Um, I'm going
- 1:44Speaker 2: to get a shower here and get over the hospital
- 1:45Speaker 2: and see him. But, um, Yeah, like I said, I'm
- 1:49Speaker 2: proud of our response in a lot of ways. But,
- 1:51Speaker 2: you know, I wish we would have came out with
- 1:53Speaker 2: a win.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And from that 27-7 point forward, was there something specifically
- 1:58Speaker 1: X's and O's wise that you saw that helped stake
- 2:01Speaker 1: that comeback that the team started executing differently on the field?
- 2:04Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think there's just our guys
- 2:06Speaker 2: played clean, you know, and executed. And that's what it
- 2:10Speaker 2: comes down to. It doesn't come down to, you know,
- 2:13Speaker 2: better coaching or faster players or, you know, it just
- 2:16Speaker 2: comes down to who can execute the best in them
- 2:18Speaker 2: tough moments. And, you know, and through that stretch where
- 2:21Speaker 2: we were able to get it back to, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 2: within striking distance, we did. We also had our moments
- 2:27Speaker 2: a couple times to take the lead and we didn't. So,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you know, back to work tomorrow and, you know, tough
- 2:32Speaker 2: opponent next week. I mean, I got to have a
- 2:33Speaker 2: good week.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Coach, thanks so much.
