- 0:15Speaker 1: Talking about the talking about, talking about the talking about
- 0:31Speaker 1: talking about the talking about the thing, talking about the
- 0:40Speaker 1: talking about.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Okay, good evening and welcome to another episode of Let's
- 1:10Speaker 2: Talk About It. I am your Hostnett Johnson, and joining
- 1:15Speaker 2: me this evening is my co host Cornell. First, we
- 1:19Speaker 2: just want to talk about I just want to check
- 1:22Speaker 2: in and see how everybody Thanksgiving, when how your mental
- 1:28Speaker 2: health is going and everything. Well, let me tell you
- 1:33Speaker 2: my Thanksgiving was enjoyable.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I had.
- 1:41Speaker 2: My grandson's here with me, my daughter here with me,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and of course I did all the cooking, and I
- 1:54Speaker 2: enjoyed that because last year I was planning my son's service.
- 1:59Speaker 3: At this time.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So by me in the kitchen cooking and a house
- 2:07Speaker 2: full of little boys or four little boys running through
- 2:12Speaker 2: the house and you know, just the laughter. I enjoyed
- 2:18Speaker 2: that because last year I was in another different place,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and it kept me from going into that place and
- 2:25Speaker 2: waking up because.
- 2:26Speaker 3: They was here a long time.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yesterday I was at the point where, boy, I'd be
- 2:33Speaker 2: glad when they go home, because they had pushed me
- 2:36Speaker 2: I would wake up. Can you know how you can
- 2:39Speaker 2: feel people staring at you? My four year old grass
- 2:43Speaker 2: on Tristan was in my face. He was he might
- 2:47Speaker 2: as well just open my little eyes up and talk
- 2:50Speaker 2: to me. But you know, and I enjoyed that now
- 2:53Speaker 2: and that they gone and it's just quiet here.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I miss them.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think that's just the strangest thing. But you know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: I call him and keep in touch with him. I
- 3:05Speaker 2: also sent out little happy thanksgiving wishes to the men
- 3:13Speaker 2: that's incarcerated, and today I received.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Thank you from from them.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Some of them was telling me, Wow, you know, they've
- 3:24Speaker 2: been in so long that they haven't received anything like that,
- 3:30Speaker 2: and you know, and they were so appreciative of receiving that,
- 3:34Speaker 2: you know, just doing something to make sure that just
- 3:39Speaker 2: to brighten their day up, even though you know they're
- 3:43Speaker 2: in that situation. And then today, well yesterday I was
- 3:51Speaker 2: talking to my co hosts and he was telling me
- 3:53Speaker 2: he had to get off the phone, and I heard
- 3:55Speaker 2: the lady the CEO in the background how they was
- 3:59Speaker 2: talking it to them, and you know, I wasn't. I
- 4:05Speaker 2: really didn't like that they are still men regardless of
- 4:10Speaker 2: the situation. My thought on that is that if you
- 4:16Speaker 2: don't like the job that you applied for, then then
- 4:23Speaker 2: leek go find a job that you or that's for you.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You know, some people get jobs that that's not for them.
- 4:33Speaker 3: They just get in there just to get a paycheck.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Or you know, whatever you got going home going on
- 4:41Speaker 2: at home, you're supposed to leave that at the door.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You're not supposed to carry that on into the workplace,
- 4:47Speaker 2: and especially in that type of environment, you know, yelling
- 4:51Speaker 2: at grown men just because you think you got some
- 4:54Speaker 2: quote unquote authority that you can do that that wasn't.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You know, it just upsets me when I hear things
- 5:02Speaker 2: like that, when they you know, when I go here,
- 5:06Speaker 2: when I go visit my husband, or you know, see
- 5:09Speaker 2: them talk down on on these men and women as well.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Little do they know they are an itch away from
- 5:21Speaker 2: being trading places with them, you know, because who are
- 5:26Speaker 2: we to look down on someone in that position. We
- 5:31Speaker 2: all had did things and got away with it, but
- 5:34Speaker 2: some of them, some people got caught, some people got
- 5:37Speaker 2: didn't do things, and they're sitting in prison for things
- 5:41Speaker 2: that they didn't do. So, you know, then to not
- 5:47Speaker 2: hear from my co host, because he usually called me
- 5:52Speaker 2: at least twice on the day of our shows, and
- 5:57Speaker 2: I got kind of worried, you know, because I didn't
- 6:03Speaker 2: hear from none of them today. I did hear from
- 6:08Speaker 2: my husband because he's in Denver, but I didn't hear
- 6:11Speaker 2: from my brothers from Texas. But I am so glad
- 6:16Speaker 2: that I have him on the phone with me and
- 6:21Speaker 2: just to on yesterday. This is, you know, part of
- 6:26Speaker 2: my little mental health I had. I went into a little, slight,
- 6:30Speaker 2: little depression because I went on Facebook and I seen
- 6:35Speaker 2: that one of my friends, one of my dear friends,
- 6:39Speaker 2: she passed away yesterday. And then I got a phone
- 6:43Speaker 2: call it later that evening saying that my uncle passed away.
- 6:48Speaker 2: So that kind of threw me in a little funk.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But I came out of it and I'm ready to talk.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I see my co host picture is up on
- 6:58Speaker 2: the screen, and I know he's ready to jump in
- 7:01Speaker 2: for now.
- 7:02Speaker 3: How are you doing on this evening, ma'am?
- 7:06Speaker 4: How you going tonight? And I feel pretty good tonight, man. Uh,
- 7:11Speaker 4: even though I'm going through a family crisis tonight, man,
- 7:14Speaker 4: you know.
- 7:15Speaker 5: I still be good because.
- 7:16Speaker 4: God is good all the time, and all the time,
- 7:19Speaker 4: God is good, And I'm glad that you had a
- 7:22Speaker 4: good holiday season with your grandkids. It was pretty nice talk.
- 7:30Speaker 4: But uh, yes, I had a real silly situation on
- 7:35Speaker 4: thinks in the day. Uh, somebody killed four to two
- 7:39Speaker 4: people and shot two people in their sleep. And one
- 7:43Speaker 4: of these kids that got killed was my nephew, you
- 7:45Speaker 4: know about the nephew, and they got to kill executions
- 7:49Speaker 4: now a friend who was setting him up with some
- 7:52Speaker 4: other guys. You know. Now my family's going through that,
- 7:56Speaker 4: you know, trying to make arrangements for them, you know,
- 7:59Speaker 4: and trying to get them you know, property sent home
- 8:02Speaker 4: to the father and stuff like that. So but that's
- 8:07Speaker 4: just goes to show you that everybody in this world
- 8:09Speaker 4: are gone from so right, you know, you know, whether
- 8:13Speaker 4: it's a death in the family, whether it's you know,
- 8:15Speaker 4: mental issues, you know, he's questioned or something to their nature,
- 8:20Speaker 4: everybody is going through something that's gonna be holidays. So
- 8:25Speaker 4: that was something we was not expected, you know, for
- 8:28Speaker 4: my nephews get killed on Thanksgiving. And so with that
- 8:33Speaker 4: being said, yes, not I'm kind of going f a
- 8:36Speaker 4: little bit, but I'm strong. You know, I've been here
- 8:38Speaker 4: thirty four years, so you know, I've missed a lot
- 8:41Speaker 4: of holidays with my family. But you know, being in prison,
- 8:44Speaker 4: you know, you become family with people in prison. So
- 8:47Speaker 4: this is where I've had to embrace, you know, and
- 8:50Speaker 4: a lot of people in prison to be My family
- 8:52Speaker 4: were strong. So my family, you know, I spoke to
- 8:55Speaker 4: my brother Liarry and he's you know, he said, he's strong.
- 8:59Speaker 4: He's doing okay. But you know, the situation is very
- 9:02Speaker 4: serious and is very dramatic, and you know, it's something
- 9:06Speaker 4: that everybody's now talking about, you know, and they're trying
- 9:09Speaker 4: to outline and address all of the kiddo's in Santoni
- 9:13Speaker 4: to the kids. You know, usually our power towns right
- 9:17Speaker 4: around here killing each other like it's just like it's
- 9:20Speaker 4: just normal. You So, so with that thing said, ma'am,
- 9:23Speaker 4: you know, like I said, I'm trying to stay focused
- 9:26Speaker 4: and hanging hanging. It's just no situation. Hen Like I said,
- 9:29Speaker 4: I'm always willing to comfort the show and I'm glad
- 9:32Speaker 4: to be here. But that's why I might feel good tonight.
- 9:35Speaker 4: So thank you for having membership.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Man, You welcome, and my condolences to you and your
- 9:41Speaker 2: family as well. Yes, ma'am, my heart goes out to
- 9:46Speaker 2: your family because don't nobody need to hear that about
- 9:54Speaker 2: a loved one or a.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Sibling or what have it. You know, it goes to show.
- 10:00Speaker 3: You need to watch wols in your circle.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Who you running with, because all friends ain't friends and
- 10:11Speaker 2: they not meant for you. You know, I heard the stories
- 10:16Speaker 2: of people friends, so called friends, having them set up
- 10:22Speaker 2: into here. That happening to your nephew while he was sleep,
- 10:27Speaker 2: that was a currently act and.
- 10:33Speaker 3: That's no my conductively, what is going through my head? Boy?
- 10:40Speaker 3: You don't, don't nobody need to be up in my
- 10:43Speaker 3: head right about now, don't.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I mean, it's just I mean, it's just, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 2: just just speechless sense. Listen, you know how people is going,
- 10:54Speaker 2: how the world's gonna take us seriously, people of color,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and we or going around taking our own each other life.
- 11:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It this hurts because you know, it takes me back
- 11:18Speaker 2: to when my son was when he was shot, I
- 11:25Speaker 2: was at work and they pulled me off and I
- 11:28Speaker 2: drive commercial buses, and I remember getting relieved at the
- 11:33Speaker 2: hospital and they told me, oh, you got to go
- 11:38Speaker 2: back to the division. They need you need to talk to.
- 11:44Speaker 3: The superviss So when I get back all the way back.
- 11:48Speaker 2: To the division, that's when they tell me you need
- 11:51Speaker 2: to call home. Your your son had just been shot.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And I called home the very hospital that son that
- 12:01Speaker 2: they relieved me in front of.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Is the hospital that I had to go back to.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Because my son was in there in the hospital in surgery.
- 12:16Speaker 2: And you know, when I talked to him after, you know,
- 12:22Speaker 2: when I talked to him because the sheriff had put
- 12:25Speaker 2: a cold on me, and when I talked to him,
- 12:29Speaker 2: I said, are you all right? I said, did you
- 12:31Speaker 2: see the person that did it? And he was like yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 2: my mom seen him and you know, and I was like, well,
- 12:37Speaker 2: who was it and he was like, oh, it was
- 12:40Speaker 2: a It was a black boy. I was like what
- 12:44Speaker 2: and he was like yeah, Mama. He stood over me
- 12:49Speaker 2: and he went to shoot me in the head, but
- 12:53Speaker 2: the gun jammed and then everybody came out of the house.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I thank god for that because that allowed me a
- 13:03Speaker 2: couple of more years.
- 13:03Speaker 3: With my baby.
- 13:05Speaker 2: But the people, I mean, we gotta reach our young men,
- 13:11Speaker 2: our young women. This has to stop. They're not gonna
- 13:16Speaker 2: take us serious that we constantly, you know, if the
- 13:19Speaker 2: young people is still out there running rapid and you
- 13:22Speaker 2: know doing this, I mean, you guys is hurting family.
- 13:29Speaker 2: You taking fathers away from children, You're taking mothers away
- 13:36Speaker 2: from children. I mean, look what you're doing my you know,
- 13:43Speaker 2: I mean, you know me. You guys shouldn't know me
- 13:45Speaker 2: by now. My my son father was killed before he
- 13:51Speaker 2: was born. He didn't even get a chance. His father
- 13:56Speaker 2: didn't even get a chance to lay eyes on him
- 14:00Speaker 2: or touching. He was killed before he was born.
- 14:05Speaker 3: My grandson.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Father was killed before he turned one. My son has
- 14:14Speaker 2: of congestive heart failure.
- 14:17Speaker 3: And his son.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Was turning was Kyler was ten. He turned eleven in January.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So you know, I'm at the point like where, Like, lord,
- 14:33Speaker 2: what what I mean? What message are you trying to
- 14:37Speaker 2: show me? What are you trying to get me to?
- 14:39Speaker 4: What?
- 14:39Speaker 3: What is my purpose?
- 14:41Speaker 4: You know?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Am I supposed to share my story about what the
- 14:46Speaker 2: struggles I went through with not.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Having kyle biological father here with him.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But I did have my daughters, which became my my husband.
- 15:01Speaker 2: He stepped in and he raised Kyle as his own.
- 15:09Speaker 2: His family loved Kyle as their own as well. You know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: just hearing what Cornell family is dealing with, it kind
- 15:26Speaker 2: of just kind of took me back to what I've
- 15:29Speaker 2: been dealing with, what I dealt with with my son
- 15:33Speaker 2: being shot by don't I don't know the people that
- 15:37Speaker 2: shot Cornell's nephew. I don't know that nationality, but I
- 15:44Speaker 2: do know the nationality of the person that shot my
- 15:48Speaker 2: son back a couple of years ago. But anyway, Cornell,
- 15:55Speaker 2: we you know, you know how I get Cornell?
- 16:00Speaker 3: Cornell?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Uh No, I just want to jump off this subject
- 16:05Speaker 2: because boy, this is like this is.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Just uh well, well that's a good subject. Now what
- 16:12Speaker 4: out because you know, we all have a whole mindset
- 16:16Speaker 4: today for thinking make our own decisions in this world, okay,
- 16:19Speaker 4: And you know they have been a misconception about you know, uh,
- 16:23Speaker 4: individuals are accepting gangs to be able to draw, to
- 16:28Speaker 4: feel like they're being loved and feel like they're not
- 16:30Speaker 4: getting in love from their moms and their dads. So
- 16:32Speaker 4: they turn the games and you know, these games of
- 16:35Speaker 4: you know, dinner, drugs and doing everything under the sun.
- 16:39Speaker 4: You know, understand us against the law. So you know,
- 16:42Speaker 4: these kids having me you know, uh we call them
- 16:46Speaker 4: all to egos. Think that they're gangsters and fun around
- 16:49Speaker 4: here with boozies and big old guns and pants dagging
- 16:53Speaker 4: and you know, do at and stuff like this. Now
- 16:56Speaker 4: they're not able to really seek the big picture of
- 16:59Speaker 4: you know, they potentials of money wow, because they can't
- 17:02Speaker 4: think of further than what they already see, which is
- 17:05Speaker 4: an ulti ego, but think that they're a gangster. Man.
- 17:07Speaker 4: So you know a lot of times, man, you know,
- 17:10Speaker 4: things that happened to us. You know, we have to weep,
- 17:13Speaker 4: but the week we so we have to, man. And
- 17:16Speaker 4: that's what's going on with these games and stuff, man,
- 17:19Speaker 4: because a lot of kys have offered, you know, how
- 17:21Speaker 4: to the game activity, you know, and we don't have
- 17:24Speaker 4: nobody out there with the child. You know, he turn
- 17:27Speaker 4: these kids away from this type of stuff. It's like
- 17:29Speaker 4: society even perishing this stuff, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:32Speaker 4: But you know, children, if you may have people out
- 17:34Speaker 4: there to the tournament, you know, at is trying to
- 17:37Speaker 4: stand up and try to, you know, give them programs
- 17:39Speaker 4: and stuff. But these kids are not taking these programs
- 17:42Speaker 4: because they say they're not being learned by their model
- 17:44Speaker 4: and the dance. To try to give them the intensitive
- 17:47Speaker 4: that they need to stop they opened on what's imported
- 17:50Speaker 4: in their life. It's right there then and tell them.
- 17:53Speaker 4: You know, he said, he have too many kids from
- 17:56Speaker 4: the juvenile system who are charged with capital too. Mother,
- 18:01Speaker 4: he said, it's just he said, it's a sad and
- 18:05Speaker 4: we have kids actually charming with capital mourners, just like
- 18:08Speaker 4: what happened to my nephew them this the boy actually said, yes,
- 18:11Speaker 4: I was a part of it, and I did now
- 18:14Speaker 4: he shot with capital murder. It's like this will you
- 18:19Speaker 4: don't care? So you know what I'm saying, man, is
- 18:23Speaker 4: that you have everybody suffering. You know, moms and dads
- 18:26Speaker 4: trying to figure out what they're going to do. They
- 18:28Speaker 4: gotta bury their kids and stuff, and you know, everybody
- 18:31Speaker 4: lose in these situations, man, So it's all a mental
- 18:34Speaker 4: thing happens, you know, everybody trying to figure out what happens. Well,
- 18:38Speaker 4: if it happened now, so you know, we have to
- 18:40Speaker 4: try to turn to guy and try to find an
- 18:42Speaker 4: understanding and move on right strength you'ing man, because god.
- 18:48Speaker 3: You know, and it's just like.
- 18:52Speaker 2: They're trying to make a name for themselves. I mean,
- 18:56Speaker 2: what kind of name are you trying to make?
- 19:00Speaker 5: Eight?
- 19:00Speaker 2: What kind of legacy are you trying to leave for
- 19:03Speaker 2: your child? You know, heartache? Oh, my father was wooped
- 19:10Speaker 2: the woop this and he was from this. What kind
- 19:12Speaker 2: of legacy is that? That's not a legacy?
- 19:18Speaker 3: You know, well, I mean, I.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Guess it's just heartbreaking when another young African American, he Hispanic, Caucasian, Asian,
- 19:45Speaker 2: purple brown, whatever you may want of them, say, lose
- 19:49Speaker 2: their life to senseless violence, whereas gang related, whereas overdose,
- 19:58Speaker 2: whereas drunk driving. It's we got to do something to
- 20:08Speaker 2: say to our children, and we got to do it fast,
- 20:14Speaker 2: because they're spiraled down a rabbit hole. You know, they
- 20:21Speaker 2: got this marijuana. I hate when they get on the
- 20:26Speaker 2: bus smelling like it. Well I used to when I drove.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I'm not driving right now, but I eventually, I'm gonna
- 20:34Speaker 2: go back after I get my mind together. They smell
- 20:41Speaker 2: like that, They go to work smelling like that, They
- 20:44Speaker 2: in the store smelling like that.
- 20:47Speaker 3: You know, it's like we can't get away from it.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And you know, I used to tell my children, you know,
- 20:56Speaker 2: you don't know what they mixing in that stuff.
- 21:00Speaker 3: They can be mixing some of some stuff. They have
- 21:04Speaker 3: you hallucinating in that.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Mh.
- 21:10Speaker 3: We got to be careful. We got to sit down.
- 21:12Speaker 2: And you know, when our kids is like four years
- 21:16Speaker 2: old and stuff, don't be like laughing and giggling. Oh
- 21:20Speaker 2: that's cute, No, that's cute, that ain't cute. He gonna
- 21:22Speaker 2: grow up, she gonna grow up. Ain't gonna be doing
- 21:26Speaker 2: the same thing as a teenager and a young adult.
- 21:32Speaker 2: We gotta start nipping this stuff at in the bud
- 21:35Speaker 2: when they're young, because we're responsible for them until they
- 21:40Speaker 2: become of age. And my kids knew, they knew, don't
- 21:44Speaker 2: make me look bad. You make me look bad, I'll
- 21:47Speaker 2: be up at your school. And they knew that. Kyle
- 21:52Speaker 2: knew I will do we tip on him. If I
- 21:54Speaker 2: caught him ditching, I'll call the school. You know, we
- 21:58Speaker 2: got to be more active in our children life.
- 22:01Speaker 3: We have to. And go ahead, Cornell.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Well, ma'am. You know if you look back to the
- 22:10Speaker 4: early eighties when the gang infignation and the warm drugs
- 22:13Speaker 4: and stuff came about, now you know, you know, I
- 22:16Speaker 4: come to have a lot to do with this. You know,
- 22:18Speaker 4: they're not on me that I own. People have about
- 22:21Speaker 4: you know, rap music, and you know the misconception about
- 22:24Speaker 4: raph music. Kids thinking that the gangster just because they
- 22:27Speaker 4: hear something about other gangster and you know, something like this.
- 22:30Speaker 4: But these kids have taken these, you know, these songs,
- 22:33Speaker 4: and with their mentality and thinking like that, man, they
- 22:37Speaker 4: try to act these things down. And now even if
- 22:40Speaker 4: you got mothers and dogs, you know what I'm saying,
- 22:42Speaker 4: they don't know what to do man, because sometimes you
- 22:44Speaker 4: could get it that they're just not going to listen
- 22:46Speaker 4: to you no matter who you are. And then you
- 22:48Speaker 4: turn to be gangs to feel like they being above.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Like I said, ma'am, give you just your child is
- 22:54Speaker 4: out there running the street, got a big old gun,
- 22:56Speaker 4: and you can't chase your kid anywhere they go. You can't.
- 23:00Speaker 4: So ma'am, here is you've got to just these drugs
- 23:03Speaker 4: out there and then and then you got the rap
- 23:04Speaker 4: music and you got these kids making sending drugs and
- 23:07Speaker 4: making money and driving cars and stuff. They're making more
- 23:10Speaker 4: money and people that can get businesses now. So with
- 23:15Speaker 4: that thing said, ma'am will ever come with the parature
- 23:18Speaker 4: with his bottlens and they're doing drive by shoers and
- 23:21Speaker 4: kid and kids to each other. That's what they're doing now. Man.
- 23:25Speaker 4: So it's very sad. But you know, we as people
- 23:28Speaker 4: and advoctists and people that got you know, influencers, they
- 23:32Speaker 4: heed the ones who need to stand up to start
- 23:34Speaker 4: trying to create programs and getting these fear fives and
- 23:37Speaker 4: Charla Teast's kids that it's a better way that they
- 23:40Speaker 4: don't have to remember the printing system mat. And if
- 23:43Speaker 4: I look around, and I can tell you right now, everybody,
- 23:46Speaker 4: most of the guys in there gang here. They most
- 23:49Speaker 4: of them have a jod lot of shoes, most upper gang,
- 23:52Speaker 4: guns and kids and stuff like that. One of them.
- 23:55Speaker 4: But this is where we at. This is the life
- 23:58Speaker 4: clients will live in there. So with that being said, now,
- 24:01Speaker 4: you know, yes, we hate to see the things like
- 24:03Speaker 4: this that happening, and a lot of society people. We
- 24:06Speaker 4: have to find a better way. Our government have to
- 24:09Speaker 4: find a better way to trying to reach these kids,
- 24:11Speaker 4: and they're not doing that. Then they got a thing
- 24:14Speaker 4: in Philadelphia call h what is it, uh the zombie
- 24:18Speaker 4: sha zombie rolled or something. But they showing you that
- 24:22Speaker 4: all of these people on that one street there the
- 24:27Speaker 4: news everyone anywhere, man, and you ought to see it,
- 24:31Speaker 4: just saying the Christians going out there trying to keep
- 24:35Speaker 4: these people commuting these tom It's just too sad. You
- 24:38Speaker 4: need the government doing not knowing nothing about it, right,
- 24:42Speaker 4: and you.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Know I see it down here, you know where I
- 24:45Speaker 2: live at you know, uh, I'll be up so early
- 24:50Speaker 2: in the morning. It ain't even funny. We're going out
- 24:52Speaker 2: and go leave out to go to work. Just to
- 24:55Speaker 2: see the young people homeless out there, just you know,
- 25:04Speaker 2: off that fentanyl off.
- 25:08Speaker 4: What what is it.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Meth to see them out there like that. These are
- 25:15Speaker 2: young people, well that.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Had a bright future.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And they still can have a bright future if they
- 25:24Speaker 2: can just you know, if we have programs in place
- 25:28Speaker 2: for them, you know, just to see them out there.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I mean, and it's cold over here. I know it's
- 25:37Speaker 2: cold in the other parts, but out here, I think
- 25:42Speaker 2: it was like we was in the thirties last night
- 25:45Speaker 2: and it's cold, and they're out there and they walking around.
- 25:50Speaker 3: They walk all night, They walk all night.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And then during the day you will probably see them
- 25:58Speaker 2: behind the buildings sleep, or they sitting at the bus
- 26:03Speaker 2: stop on the bus stop sleep.
- 26:06Speaker 5: You know, this is.
- 26:09Speaker 3: M hm.
- 26:10Speaker 2: And we're supposed to be the great a great nation
- 26:13Speaker 2: in the United States is supposed to be.
- 26:17Speaker 3: So great.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But we got so much homelessness here. We got so
- 26:24Speaker 2: many young people that's on Math and Fenton.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Al and hair Ron, and we got.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Only God can only God can save us, only God,
- 26:42Speaker 2: only God can do Only God can save us.
- 26:46Speaker 4: Well, it's very sad we have homelessness and stuff like that,
- 26:49Speaker 4: and I couldn't. It's not doing enough to try to
- 26:51Speaker 4: curb the additions. Man. So you know what that say.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Anybody who's listening to the podcasts tonight, you know what
- 26:58Speaker 4: I'm saying, it would be you know, theyvery encouraging for
- 27:01Speaker 4: you know, you to get involved in these communities, to
- 27:05Speaker 4: get involved in trying you know what I'm saying, show
- 27:08Speaker 4: these please if there's a better way creating sentitives for
- 27:11Speaker 4: these kids and all to know, the picking the potential
- 27:13Speaker 4: that they've better that go and what they are and
- 27:15Speaker 4: what they're doing, you know, and that's all they needed.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Somebody to get to them and talk to them and
- 27:20Speaker 4: them and show them that it's a better way. Yeah,
- 27:23Speaker 4: that's all they need. I oppose the kids over here
- 27:26Speaker 4: in prisons, they an't retalizing. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:28Speaker 4: what their potentially think. They locked up. They locked up down.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Now you hang up out to pour potential a while
- 27:35Speaker 4: because you're incarcerated them. He had capitalize speak. Kid got
- 27:40Speaker 4: eighty million years in prisons. Man, they never get out.
- 27:44Speaker 4: When they get out, they behold the great man. So
- 27:47Speaker 4: you know we actually to listen to these podcasts about
- 27:51Speaker 4: that because trying to you know, help their amenity and
- 27:53Speaker 4: stuff like that. Didn't talk to these kids if you
- 27:56Speaker 4: used to get child about the mess of the drugs.
- 27:58Speaker 4: So I hang with the wrong crown, didn't put them
- 28:01Speaker 4: to the side, but I'm going to set them down.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Don't just let him keep doing what they do because
- 28:06Speaker 4: that's gonna lead to something totally, you know, one thing
- 28:09Speaker 4: to another. So you know it, your child is be
- 28:12Speaker 4: in prison, but your child be then gone from something
- 28:16Speaker 4: that you could have prevented.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what it is.
- 28:19Speaker 4: So for people to you know, need to get it
- 28:22Speaker 4: up and that should get it. We need to get
- 28:24Speaker 4: it because right now the society is dangers out there.
- 28:30Speaker 4: You know you got to just doing a drive. I
- 28:32Speaker 4: should have just proponed now you know that's my little
- 28:36Speaker 4: big baby, just to getn't kill just somebody shooting in
- 28:39Speaker 4: the house and stuff. It's that so all that we
- 28:43Speaker 4: could do. But what I can do right now manners
- 28:45Speaker 4: pray for everybody, to pray that everybody's knowing good mental
- 28:49Speaker 4: stable health right now and going forward. We have to
- 28:52Speaker 4: keep God right. So mist you know, like I said,
- 28:57Speaker 4: you know I'm doing pretty good. I'm trying to maintain
- 28:59Speaker 4: my sanity right under the circumstances about fact going to
- 29:02Speaker 4: this my nephew. Man. But other than that, I'm doing great.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Okay, that's good man, and that's glad. I'm so glad
- 29:10Speaker 2: to hear from you, because you know how I was
- 29:12Speaker 2: kind of worried. I was like, he ain't called and
- 29:15Speaker 2: I called Angela was like did he call you?
- 29:18Speaker 3: And you know, and I'm just waiting around. You know,
- 29:20Speaker 3: I'll be like, oh my god, what's going on over there?
- 29:26Speaker 4: Ma? Yes, ma'am. We had a situation today, man, yes, man,
- 29:32Speaker 4: I was gonna get the call, but she told me
- 29:37Speaker 4: I got totally night. I'm like this, man, because because
- 29:39Speaker 4: you know, y'all got to show I suy yes man.
- 29:42Speaker 4: We had just want to go eat and come back.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yes, so we got I'm not gonna hold you long
- 29:49Speaker 2: because our time is going down because we got three
- 29:52Speaker 2: more shows. We got three more shows for the month December,
- 29:58Speaker 2: and then we're gonna be all, yeah, les, I'm gonna
- 30:03Speaker 2: give Cornell a few Uh.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Okay, well, my pall gonna cut off and look the
- 30:11Speaker 4: thanks you can have me on the show. Thank you
- 30:12Speaker 4: for allowing us this opportunity to come on the show
- 30:16Speaker 4: to David and on this podcast. I'm let's talk about it.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I look forward to being here for the last and
- 30:22Speaker 4: the next three shows. But I want to say, listen there,
- 30:25Speaker 4: thank you very much, ma'am for what you do. You
- 30:27Speaker 4: are being powerful boy, the power growing on a power
- 30:30Speaker 4: avocan man. You just keep doing what you do. Man,
- 30:33Speaker 4: it's going to be our life. We're going to find
- 30:35Speaker 4: something better. We don't get something going, but these people
- 30:37Speaker 4: are gonna start knowing who we are. We are, let's
- 30:40Speaker 4: talk about it. So when we come back, we will
- 30:42Speaker 4: be justice. Huh Justice, that's right, Yes, ma'am, Yes, ma'am,
- 30:53Speaker 4: that's that's right. That's who we're going to be. We're
- 30:55Speaker 4: going to get it now. So you take care of him,
- 30:58Speaker 4: and thank you very much for having me on your show.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Okay, goodbye.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Well that was my co host Cornell, and my condolence
- 31:08Speaker 2: go out to his family for the loss of his
- 31:12Speaker 2: I believe he said two nephews that was tragically killed
- 31:16Speaker 2: in their sleep on Thanksgiving days. I don't know the
- 31:22Speaker 2: details before details so about it, so I'm not gonna
- 31:26Speaker 2: speak on it. But anyway, I thank you guys. What
- 31:31Speaker 2: a minute before I end, I wanted to say this.
- 31:34Speaker 3: I do have a book.
- 31:38Speaker 2: That's coming out that I'm that I'm currently working on.
- 31:42Speaker 2: At first, I was kind of skeptic. I didn't want
- 31:46Speaker 2: to do it, but I'm gonna go ahead and do it.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I am looking if you lost a parent, a child,
- 31:56Speaker 2: a sibling, a spouse, grandparents, and you want to share
- 32:05Speaker 2: your thoughts in my first.
- 32:11Speaker 3: And you know I get tongue tied, reach out to me.
- 32:18Speaker 2: At Chanette Johnson on Facebook or let's talk about it
- 32:24Speaker 2: on Facebook. You can call me at area code nine

- 32:52Speaker 3: She has a book, she's working on her book.
- 32:55Speaker 4: We have.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Samiria Osborne. She's doing a book on I Believe Prayer?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Am I right?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Angela? We have the twenty one. Angela is working on
- 33:10Speaker 2: a one hundred and twenty one Day of Prayer. So
- 33:14Speaker 2: if you want to get into that book, reach out
- 33:17Speaker 2: to Amla Angela Thomas Smith. I had a couple of
- 33:22Speaker 2: co hosts that just completed books. We have Black Diamond
- 33:28Speaker 2: that her book is on Amazon. Habitual liar. I believe
- 33:34Speaker 2: we have Trevita's book out.
- 33:38Speaker 3: I've written down.
- 33:39Speaker 2: The name of their books, but I left my paper
- 33:43Speaker 2: over there on the other side. Trevita got a book out, Angela,
- 33:48Speaker 2: you have the name of their books. Can you put
- 33:51Speaker 2: them up for me? Angela has a book out, and
- 33:56Speaker 2: neither In Nighting you're in in her Flame, she has
- 34:03Speaker 2: a book and she also have Echo. I have written
- 34:09Speaker 2: in three in all three series. But there's my book
- 34:17Speaker 2: up there. If you guys would like to join me,
- 34:19Speaker 2: if you want to be a voice, if you want
- 34:22Speaker 2: to expression, That's how I express my grief with my son.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I learned to channel it by putting it on paper
- 34:34Speaker 2: when I'm mad, like today, I was mad at him.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I don't know why I was mad at him. I
- 34:39Speaker 2: was just mad, and I had to write it down.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I had to read write down why I was mad
- 34:46Speaker 2: at him. You know, Angela, if you have anything to share,
- 34:54Speaker 2: you more than welcome about the projects that you have
- 34:57Speaker 2: coming up, because you do that to me.
- 35:21Speaker 3: So I just want to.
- 35:24Speaker 2: See when she put me on the spot. When she
- 35:28Speaker 2: put us on the spot, she wants us to be
- 35:30Speaker 2: rest to go.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Well, anyway, I'm not prepared to come on camera, but
- 35:35Speaker 5: I'll come on. So we have a couple of projects going.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Y'all know, I keep my hands busy. I stay with something.
- 35:45Speaker 5: God is always downloading and dropping things in my spirits.
- 35:48Speaker 5: So if it's not for me, it's always for someone else.
- 35:51Speaker 5: So I tell people, if you're in my miss it
- 35:55Speaker 5: may get pushed off to you if it's not for me.
- 35:58Speaker 5: So know that if things are being downloaded, it's being
- 36:01Speaker 5: downloaded for someone We have a couple of projects again,
- 36:05Speaker 5: we are searching for authors. If you are an author
- 36:09Speaker 5: and you are looking for an opportunity just to share
- 36:11Speaker 5: your brand, to bring some awareness. You can be a
- 36:15Speaker 5: seasoned author, you can be wherever you are, does not matter,
- 36:21Speaker 5: if you're looking for to allow your brand to be
- 36:25Speaker 5: seen and heard around. I'm doing a initiative call the
- 36:31Speaker 5: one hundred Authors on one hundred Authors to watch and
- 36:39Speaker 5: authors on the Rise is what we're calling it. We
- 36:43Speaker 5: have some amazing authors, some have co author books and
- 36:46Speaker 5: now they are stepping into their own and twenty twenty
- 36:51Speaker 5: five they will be come on their owns. They will
- 36:54Speaker 5: be in charge of their own solo projects and then
- 36:57Speaker 5: we have some that are going to be releasing so
- 37:00Speaker 5: low books by themselves, So what we're doing collaborations. But however,
- 37:04Speaker 5: it is an amazing opportunity. I tell everyone, if you
- 37:09Speaker 5: are not being visible, you can never share too much.
- 37:13Speaker 5: So don't think that you are sharing too much. There's
- 37:16Speaker 5: always opportunities to get out there. Someone may not see
- 37:21Speaker 5: you because you gotta think we're all in different times, ze,
- 37:25Speaker 5: we all do stuff at different times, and especially with
- 37:29Speaker 5: the acmarithma and all the things that go into account
- 37:34Speaker 5: when we're dealing with social media. So you can never
- 37:37Speaker 5: share too much. You can never put yourself out there
- 37:39Speaker 5: too much. And if you are building a brand, this
- 37:43Speaker 5: is a great opportunity with ninety nine other like minded individuals.
- 37:49Speaker 3: That is seeking the same thing.
- 37:51Speaker 4: So with this.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Opportunity to be featured on the blog, you will be
- 37:58Speaker 5: featured inside the magazine. You have opportunities to be a
- 38:03Speaker 5: part of podcasts. And when I say you'll have opportunities
- 38:06Speaker 5: to be a part of magazines and podcasts, I'm not
- 38:09Speaker 5: just saying you. Everything is surrounded around a lac Aspiring
- 38:14Speaker 5: Authors magazine and the Crew podcast. Because we do collaborate.
- 38:19Speaker 5: They don't call me to queen up collaborations for nothing.
- 38:22Speaker 5: I love to collaborate. I love to share individuals. So
- 38:27Speaker 5: if I have individuals that have magazines, of course I
- 38:30Speaker 5: want you to be in their magazine too, so I'm
- 38:32Speaker 5: gonna share you with them. I get opportunities all the
- 38:36Speaker 5: time where individuals are looking to feature individuals, so I
- 38:41Speaker 5: share individuals that's looking for individuals for their podcast. We're
- 38:46Speaker 5: always looking to connect, collaborate and share. I am looking
- 38:52Speaker 5: to partner with some bookstores, looking to partner with anybody
- 38:58Speaker 5: that work with authors and it's willing to help bring visibility.
- 39:03Speaker 5: We have some amazing things throughout twenty twenty five. We're
- 39:09Speaker 5: hoping to go abroad. We're hoping to go to Africa.
- 39:12Speaker 5: We're hoping to travel to the Virgin Islands. We're gonna
- 39:16Speaker 5: kick off AA L A C Chasing Your Dream Book
- 39:20Speaker 5: Tour in Charleston, South Carolina in March. We're hopefully going
- 39:26Speaker 5: to have an opportunity to showcase these amazing poets. Hopefully
- 39:31Speaker 5: we will have the new Poet of the Year and
- 39:36Speaker 5: we're able to present them in Charleston as well as
- 39:40Speaker 5: the amazing one hundred authors on the move. Those to watch.
- 39:47Speaker 5: We definitely want to be able to share them.
- 39:51Speaker 3: So that that I think that's about it.
- 39:55Speaker 4: We did have one.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Twenty one days. It's a prayer book. But it's getting
- 40:01Speaker 3: ready to be released, y'all. We don't need any more
- 40:04Speaker 3: entries for that.
- 40:06Speaker 2: That book is a wrap. It's getting ready to come out.
- 40:10Speaker 2: It's getting ready to hit.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Those that have got their pre order in for ebook,
- 40:19Speaker 5: you'll probably have it before the thirty first, so know
- 40:22Speaker 5: that it is almost ready.
- 40:26Speaker 3: I'm excited about this book.
- 40:28Speaker 2: I'm truly excited about everyone that had the opportunity to
- 40:33Speaker 2: share their testimonies. I tell everybody that we overcome by
- 40:39Speaker 2: hearing and sharing the testimonies the book. It's just that
- 40:44Speaker 2: we are one hundred and twenty one days of sharing, scripture, sharing,
- 40:49Speaker 2: word sharing those things we need to keep going to
- 40:55Speaker 2: stay on this journey because again, listening to your show,
- 40:58Speaker 2: we're all dealing with something. We're all dealing with something.
- 41:03Speaker 2: So thank you for allowing me to come on and
- 41:06Speaker 2: and and give my little spill here at the end. Again,
- 41:10Speaker 2: I thank you for all that you do here on
- 41:12Speaker 2: the Crew podcast and for bringing awareness to social injustice
- 41:17Speaker 2: and those things that people don't like to talk about
- 41:21Speaker 2: because a lot of time. People don't like to talk
- 41:23Speaker 2: about controversial subjects, so sometime go outside of But I
- 41:32Speaker 2: thank you for bringing awareness to our brown community and
- 41:36Speaker 2: the things that.
- 41:40Speaker 5: Brought to.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Again.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Thank you, you welcome. Thank you Angela.
- 41:48Speaker 4: That was the.
- 41:51Speaker 3: The visionary of the Crew podcast.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Well, on that note, I am going to leave you, guys.
- 41:59Speaker 3: I got homework to do. I've been slacking on my homework,
