- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, we're good.
- 0:06Speaker 2: You like that, busting with the boys, hanging with the face,
- 0:18Speaker 2: betting on the game. No woman's gonna tell us what.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Not be.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We're here just drinking beer and making n Baby, I'm
- 0:37Speaker 2: hanging with the fellers. He's busting with the boys.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Bro are we rolling? Mitchie? All right's rolling right now.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Let's keep a rod a bus rob going Cowski fillow
- 0:50Speaker 4: making up the buss.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Been a long time cover three years time. We've been
- 0:54Speaker 1: trying for three years. We're gonna finally be on.
- 0:57Speaker 4: We're where The first time we met was at my house.
- 1:00Speaker 4: You were doing about two thousand of NAD. Just sat
- 1:04Speaker 4: there and stare at the wall for three hours, just
- 1:06Speaker 4: dying for a little bit. The next time, tight end
- 1:08Speaker 4: to you. Yep, we're putting the full court press on them.
- 1:10Speaker 4: And then we almost made it happen, but then I
- 1:12Speaker 4: had to go to the town for something. I can't
- 1:14Speaker 4: remember what it was.
- 1:15Speaker 3: We tried several times this time, like Bronx said, the
- 1:18Speaker 3: perfect moment's going to strike in That perfect moment is
- 1:21Speaker 3: now right with Nobuy because of fandom, because of fan
- 1:24Speaker 3: Fandels brought all the boys together.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Number one sports book in all of America.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're watching right now, make sure you are
- 1:29Speaker 3: subscribed to the channel. It's easy for you. It helps
- 1:31Speaker 3: the boys out a lot. Busting with the Boys is
- 1:33Speaker 3: presented by Fanduels Sportsbook, Fandels America's number one sports book.
- 1:37Speaker 3: We just finished up the PGA Championship. The NBA and
- 1:40Speaker 3: NHL conference finals are underway. The NFL schedule dropped last week,
- 1:44Speaker 3: and Fandels here for all of it. The matchups are set,
- 1:47Speaker 3: the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the West,
- 1:50Speaker 3: The Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks in the East.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Who are we writing with for the rest of the
- 1:54Speaker 3: pro seeds? For the rest of the postseason? Boys, I'm
- 1:57Speaker 3: gonna give you the Knicks. I'm just look, I'm I'm
- 2:01Speaker 3: just I don't know shit about basketball, but I'm gonna
- 2:04Speaker 3: ride it with the Knicks because i feel like they've
- 2:05Speaker 3: created the most chaos on social media. Yeah, taking down
- 2:08Speaker 3: the Celtics.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I was actually just a game. I think it was
- 2:11Speaker 1: Game four. It was in New York. I was there
- 2:13Speaker 1: actually with fan Duel. I was up in their suite,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, shooting some content, making some bets in the game,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and that at Mispear in New York at Madison Square
- 2:21Speaker 1: Garden was absolutely electric. My man, I'm talking. I never
- 2:25Speaker 1: seen a basketball game like that. The garden in Boston
- 2:28Speaker 1: is always electric, but it was like another level, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: in New York City. I feel like because they haven't
- 2:33Speaker 1: been in the playoffs or that far and so long,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and they're also facing the reigning champs and they did
- 2:39Speaker 1: win that game as well. So New York is popping.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But I'm not a Knicks fan. I'm a Celtics fan.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Actually not really. I don't really have a true NBA
- 2:46Speaker 1: team because I grew up in Buffalo. But I'm cheering
- 2:49Speaker 1: for Oklahoma Thunder right now. I just watched Game seven
- 2:52Speaker 1: versus No, I'm not going next.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I was just giving them credit for the A And
- 2:58Speaker 3: it doesn't feel like they fan base is psychotic and psychotic.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, the last game they just played, they beat the
- 3:04Speaker 4: ship out of the Celtics team like eighty four or
- 3:07Speaker 4: something like that.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Something was down. Brown has like a torn mc l
- 3:13Speaker 1: gus had like an illness. Yeah, football injuries. Yeah, they
- 3:18Speaker 1: just don't know how to work because they're not football.
- 3:20Speaker 4: To get that sish figuring out baby, and also Timothy Shallamane.
- 3:25Speaker 4: You see that guy sitting outside the s u V.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, the videos after the game, like outside Timothy Charlemagne
- 3:31Speaker 3: and then like there's some face what I think you
- 3:35Speaker 3: said it nice Charlemagne. Yeah, Charlotte Charlamagne.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That's a hard name to say. You don't want me to.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Ultimately, they're throwing like trash bags at him. Who is that?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Was that a Celtics fan?
- 3:47Speaker 1: That was an Indiana Pacers fan and he was wearing
- 3:51Speaker 1: the star player's name. What's Hallan Burton? Sure, yeah, Halim
- 3:54Speaker 1: Burton's jersey, and they're throwing trash cans and everything at him.
- 3:58Speaker 3: And everybody.
- 4:00Speaker 1: The northeast, which was wild. That's too much, man, just
- 4:03Speaker 1: because he's wearing the jersey around the city and you're
- 4:05Speaker 1: attacking home. I mean it was one verse like a thousand.
- 4:07Speaker 1: The guy just had to walk away in shame. But
- 4:09Speaker 1: I think that's too much to start throwing trash at
- 4:11Speaker 1: like a random fan that's just wearing another jersey something
- 4:15Speaker 1: in the middle of the streets. A lot. I kind
- 4:17Speaker 1: of love it, you do.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I do, because it's just like it adds to me
- 4:21Speaker 4: for the entertainment. I don't think we should ever hurt somebody,
- 4:23Speaker 4: We should never be hateful. Checkbox, checkbox, check box. But
- 4:26Speaker 4: I also think like when fan bases are that nasty,
- 4:29Speaker 4: you talk about like the Philodelphy Eagles, like that adds
- 4:32Speaker 4: to the storyline of all the teams playing and the
- 4:35Speaker 4: last time they played X, Y and Z happened. Like
- 4:37Speaker 4: I think it's good for sports and the culture and
- 4:40Speaker 4: everything like that.
- 4:41Speaker 1: There's a place for just as long as it doesn't
- 4:43Speaker 1: leads pulling out.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Yeah, stabbing fights and.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah, people getting stabbed, but that's usually what it leads to.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Right, right, if we can just throw a nice bag
- 4:52Speaker 4: of trash or somebody and then maybe chest like bump
- 4:54Speaker 4: chest a couple of times, push each other.
- 4:56Speaker 1: All right, we'll move on.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll take that every day of the week.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Throw a couple of fists. Yeah it was this couple.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah, keep it classic. Well, since we're showing the basketball thing,
- 5:07Speaker 4: Kington Clark, Angel Reaes, where do you stand on that?
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm a Caitlin Clark fan.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Are you really where do you have you?
- 5:13Speaker 4: Do you see this past weekend?
- 5:14Speaker 3: I see all the Internet's blowing up about it, and
- 5:16Speaker 3: may it's something like.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I really do think that Angel Reese does not like
- 5:20Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark. Definitely.
- 5:23Speaker 3: That's probably a competitive rivalry, but everybody tries to make
- 5:25Speaker 3: it about some race thing storyline.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But the first time I'm a Caitlin Clark fan because
- 5:29Speaker 1: I actually just hearing a lot about her when she
- 5:32Speaker 1: was at Iowa. What was it, I think her second
- 5:35Speaker 1: last year when they when she was playing in all
- 5:37Speaker 1: the games. No, I think it was her last year,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I haven't seen her play yet. And then she
- 5:40Speaker 1: was in the tournament and I finally watched a game
- 5:42Speaker 1: in the tournament and she was just shooting threes up
- 5:44Speaker 1: like she was Steph Curry, and she was just sinking
- 5:46Speaker 1: them from like five feet past the three point line.
- 5:49Speaker 1: That's when I became a big fan, just watching her
- 5:51Speaker 1: first game in the tournament and I was just thrilled
- 5:54Speaker 1: watching her and I was I was in shock just
- 5:56Speaker 1: how smooth she was too, with all her passes, the
- 5:58Speaker 1: way she dribbled, and the way she shot. And then
- 6:01Speaker 1: ever since then, I became a big fan of her game.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And now I follow her through the w NBA and
- 6:05Speaker 1: I follow that whole beef angel rees Caitlyn Clark, and
- 6:09Speaker 1: I think Caitlyn Clark is on the pedestal of being
- 6:12Speaker 1: top dog in the NB and the WNBA and Angel Reese,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I feel like he's just a little bit jealous. I
- 6:18Speaker 1: think when we tell about yeah, right, not to go
- 6:21Speaker 1: way back to then, Kaitlyn.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Clark being as good as she is is one thing.
- 6:25Speaker 4: So she comes in as a big jump in the
- 6:26Speaker 4: in the viewership in the w n B A but
- 6:28Speaker 4: that wouldn't be sustainable if there wasn't the Angel Reeses
- 6:31Speaker 4: adding to like the hate now we have this big
- 6:33Speaker 4: rival were going on. So next time they play, the
- 6:35Speaker 4: seats were filled for that game, And I just think
- 6:38Speaker 4: it's attention to the league.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think. Yeah, I agree, you need Angel
- 6:42Speaker 1: Reese to have this hatredg uh to Kitlyn Clark and
- 6:46Speaker 1: all these other players to keep getting that attention that
- 6:48Speaker 1: the w NBA actually deserves as well. And it's working.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You know, if they were all for Kaitlyn Clark. Oh,
- 6:53Speaker 1: she's such a good player, she's so sweet to play again.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna let her shoot her three pointer. I'm not
- 6:58Speaker 1: going to contest it. Oh, since she's getting elbows thrown
- 7:01Speaker 1: at her, people are loving that, and people love physicality
- 7:04Speaker 1: in sports. That's what fans love. That's why hockey's back
- 7:08Speaker 1: all the fighting when with the four nations everyone's throwing
- 7:10Speaker 1: elbows at each other the checks. That's why the NBA
- 7:13Speaker 1: is kind of back in the playoffs right now because
- 7:15Speaker 1: the referees are letting all that physicality, you know, just
- 7:18Speaker 1: go on. They're getting physical again in the pain and
- 7:20Speaker 1: they're throwing elbows. They're playing hard, and fans love to
- 7:24Speaker 1: see that. And that's why football is the greatest sport
- 7:28Speaker 1: because every play is physically you're getting thirty every single play.
- 7:34Speaker 3: If you think you know how the games are gonna roll,
- 7:35Speaker 3: make sure you tap in FanDuel because Fandel has NBA
- 7:38Speaker 3: profit boosts every day of the playoffs, a profit boost

- 7:57Speaker 3: get in on the action. FanDuel, the official's betting partner
- 8:01Speaker 3: of the NBA.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Before we go any further, could we just get a
- 8:04Speaker 4: quick moment of sounds from my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Thank you very much for your time.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You know that was tough for me because I'm from Buffalo.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm a big Buffalo Savers fans. Toronto Maple Leafs was
- 8:19Speaker 1: our rival really, you know, throughout my whole childhood, especially
- 8:22Speaker 1: Ti Domi versus Rob Ray, all those fights back in
- 8:25Speaker 1: the day. I love both of them just getting after it. Yes,
- 8:28Speaker 1: but I didn't really want to give that moment of silence.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I will say this, if we can, we can be
- 8:38Speaker 4: nasty about Toronto. Now they're in Game seven, in the
- 8:40Speaker 4: biggest game in your franchise's history since nineteen sixty seven
- 8:43Speaker 4: when you actually won the Cup. Disgusting display of effort.
- 8:47Speaker 4: The boys were did not want it yesterday in the
- 8:50Speaker 4: first period, zero zero. Then all of a sudden, I
- 8:52Speaker 4: go to start putting my kids down. I pop up
- 8:54Speaker 4: the YouTube TV as I'm laying on the ground as
- 8:56Speaker 4: they're falling asleep, and they're just getting throwed them badly.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Three goals within ten minutes.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And they just got after them over and over and
- 9:04Speaker 4: over again. I mean they killed a great penalty after
- 9:06Speaker 4: the first period, and then well it was a Wall.
- 9:09Speaker 4: He was a goalie, correct, he became a sieve in
- 9:12Speaker 4: those last two periods and it was just tough, dude, tough.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Well, I know, history repeats itself, and I think the
- 9:18Speaker 1: Toronto Maple Leafs had folded and basically every game seven
- 9:21Speaker 1: in the last five six years, right in the playoffs.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So I actually did my first NHL bet on FanDuel
- 9:27Speaker 1: sports book last night. I bet two hundred dollars on
- 9:29Speaker 1: the Florida Panthers just beating the Toronto Maple Leafs straight up,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and I won. Let me pull it up, man, I'm
- 9:35Speaker 1: not telling you. It was my first I ever made
- 9:39Speaker 1: world Taylor put five. That must have not worked. H yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: my head Florida. Yeah yeah, so I kind of wish
- 9:52Speaker 1: you won now and then we kind.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Of like Taylor a lot more and got his.
- 9:57Speaker 1: A let me go. It was actually my first bat
- 10:00Speaker 1: in the state of Tennessee too, which is really cool.
- 10:03Speaker 1: All right right here, Tennessee Saddle. Look at that Florida
- 10:07Speaker 1: Panthers toll wager two hundred dollars one three forty.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I love that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, look at that. I just check it out.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I did see that. I saw that on Twitter last night.
- 10:21Speaker 4: And I'm just thinking to myself, God, damn it.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Well, I was just watching. I was doing the same
- 10:25Speaker 3: thing Scott.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Right now, my last my last four bets with the
- 10:29Speaker 4: Toronto maple Leafs have gotten murdered, and I had Toronto
- 10:32Speaker 4: a futures bet on them. We're in the Eastern Conference finals,
- 10:35Speaker 4: and obviously that's not going to come come together anymore.
- 10:38Speaker 4: That's now dead.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Biz has been such a like a you know, voice
- 10:41Speaker 3: for the Leafs. And then you've obviously been riding with
- 10:44Speaker 3: the Leaves too, so knowing that they were in a
- 10:45Speaker 3: game seven when I was just watching the last night,
- 10:48Speaker 3: she says, like a you know, non hockey guy, just
- 10:50Speaker 3: watching as a as a fan of the love of
- 10:51Speaker 3: the game, for the love of the game, a game
- 10:53Speaker 3: seven going on, it did seem like Florida was just
- 10:55Speaker 3: playing at a different speed, just bullying, bullying the maple Leafs.
- 10:59Speaker 4: I had clump on phone with a bunch of people
- 11:00Speaker 4: from FanDuel setting up something when they won this game.
- 11:03Speaker 4: I wasn't gonna go to a game in Toronto. Yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 4: check it out, get the environment. See that's all about
- 11:09Speaker 4: sure enough, man. They shipped the bed and everyone told
- 11:11Speaker 4: me Toronto is like the Dallas Cowboys of hockey. Like
- 11:15Speaker 4: they're like the biggest, most well known franchise. They sell
- 11:19Speaker 4: the most jerseys, they make the most money, blah blah blah.
- 11:22Speaker 4: And I thought, that's great. I'll get behind them. It'll
- 11:23Speaker 4: be a fun fan base to play with. Little did
- 11:25Speaker 4: I know if they really are the Dallas Cowboys. Those
- 11:28Speaker 4: ship the bed in the playoffs, and that's what just happened. Yeah, tough, tough, slick.
- 11:31Speaker 3: There was one two like when it was zero zero
- 11:33Speaker 3: after the first period, I was like, I wonder if
- 11:35Speaker 3: because you could notice that Florida was just out playing
- 11:37Speaker 3: them the whole time, even though it was zero zero.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Hang around and the least might just pull something off.
- 11:42Speaker 3: But then they just started to just put their face
- 11:45Speaker 3: in the pillow.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Austin Matthews, the Scotts, the Arizona guy captain. I was like, man,
- 11:50Speaker 4: I need an Arizona boy. They're running for us, but
- 11:51Speaker 4: now we got to chuck good chuck for the Panthers.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I mean, my favorite player in the NHR, though, is
- 11:57Speaker 1: the Adminton Oilers going blank? Yeah, David, I mean I
- 12:00Speaker 1: love skates around just to spenders ice to ice, you know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: lying to line and just goes around everyone. I'm cheering
- 12:08Speaker 1: for him. I'm hoping that minto the Oilers win it all. Plus,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I feel like the NHL needs a Canada the team
- 12:14Speaker 1: to you know, win it. It's been so long, and
- 12:16Speaker 1: I think that will bring hockey back in a way,
- 12:18Speaker 1: even though you know, yeah, even though we're beefing a
- 12:21Speaker 1: little bit anywhere, yeh, Canada. I think it would be Yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 1: I think it would be really good if Edmonton Oilers
- 12:30Speaker 1: win it for the NHL.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Just for the sport, the attention and everything exactly.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And on top of it, on top of speaking about hockey,
- 12:36Speaker 1: my brother texted me this morning. He goes, you have
- 12:38Speaker 1: to let because I was like, I'm going on with
- 12:40Speaker 1: buzzing with the boys, and I didn't really know. I
- 12:42Speaker 1: don't think he really knew. That's truly, you guys are
- 12:44Speaker 1: like more of a football podcast. And he goes, you
- 12:46Speaker 1: have to let them know. You're going to be in
- 12:48Speaker 1: the hockey world soon with all your nephews. So I
- 12:50Speaker 1: just want to give a shout out to all my nephews.
- 12:52Speaker 1: They're up and coming in the hockey world right now.
- 12:54Speaker 1: They're playing on the Buffalo Junior Sabers they're ballers and
- 12:58Speaker 1: you'll be hearing a lot about them in the few
- 13:03Speaker 1: my nephews. I told my brought I would get it
- 13:08Speaker 1: in if somehow the hockey subject gets brought up. So
- 13:11Speaker 1: there you go, brother and Jace Grayson. Keep dominating boys.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You guys are gonna be lethal out there on the ice.
- 13:17Speaker 4: You play it all you in the skates. Being New York.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I love playing hockey, man. I grew up and played
- 13:21Speaker 1: until ninth grade, and I stopped playing hockey because hockey
- 13:24Speaker 1: and basketball were at the same time, and I just
- 13:27Speaker 1: thought basketball was a better fit for me. And I
- 13:29Speaker 1: kind of like basketball more at that time. But hockey
- 13:31Speaker 1: was my favorite sport growing up.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Ye many, damn.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Yeah, But think about this guy's hockey.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I was but left wing.
- 13:42Speaker 4: You who Charlie is? No, it's your wife.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Number one.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Number two is Danny Charro. He was a guy who
- 13:46Speaker 4: played for the Boston Bruins. He's like six seven, he's
- 13:48Speaker 4: like six eleven on skates. This he was Russian, right,
- 13:52Speaker 4: this Russian guy who just beat the fun.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Out of people. It was it was not from the US,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he was not from here. He wasn't from here,
- 13:59Speaker 4: But the guy have like a hundred I think he
- 14:01Speaker 4: did like one hundred and ten mile an hour slap
- 14:02Speaker 4: shot because he used to do that. Like the All
- 14:04Speaker 4: Star games, they would do all like the little challenges.
- 14:06Speaker 4: His slap shot was insane.
- 14:08Speaker 1: This game literally like twenty three years in the NHL.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And just with body bag people of all time. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 3: and that could have been six nine six nine. Were
- 14:18Speaker 3: you nice up until you stopped playing?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 14:20Speaker 1: I was nice. I was nice. If I get on
- 14:22Speaker 1: skates now, I'm pretty slappy because it's been so long
- 14:24Speaker 1: and you got to like be able to skate all
- 14:26Speaker 1: the time in order to keep up with it. But
- 14:28Speaker 1: I was nice, man, I only played up a level.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I played with all my friends that were older than me.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I love playing hockey, it was It was by far
- 14:36Speaker 1: my favorite sport. And I was in Buffalo too, with
- 14:38Speaker 1: all the ice rinks around. It was so good. I
- 14:41Speaker 1: had one time scored ten goals in a game when
- 14:43Speaker 1: it was it was house hockey. We were down ten
- 14:45Speaker 1: to one and I ended up scoring ten goals in
- 14:48Speaker 1: a row and tied it up and made it eleven eleven,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and then we ended up losing twelve to eleven. That
- 14:53Speaker 1: was I think squirts. You scored ten goals. It was ridiculous.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It was one of the best performances of all time.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I know.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It was just.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And then another time there was just there was this chick.
- 15:06Speaker 1: She was this was travel hockey. There was this chick
- 15:08Speaker 1: on the cheek the Wogga team I think it was.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And this this is a pretty good story. And she
- 15:13Speaker 1: was vicious, she was strong, and she always came after
- 15:16Speaker 1: me to try and just deck me. And it was
- 15:18Speaker 1: always a joke all around. We're playing the chick like,
- 15:20Speaker 1: don't get leveled, and she came at me and I
- 15:23Speaker 1: absolutely destriight it. I'm talking like she would go flying
- 15:27Speaker 1: back like three feet, but she would get up and
- 15:29Speaker 1: then next ship she would come full speed and try
- 15:30Speaker 1: to deck me. One time she hit me pretty hard.
- 15:33Speaker 1: She went flying back still though, but my helmet broke
- 15:35Speaker 1: and my face mask went flying off me. So still
- 15:38Speaker 1: to this day, my friends punked me about the time
- 15:40Speaker 1: the chick absolutely rocked me and my face mask went
- 15:43Speaker 1: flying off me. But then like literally like ten years later,
- 15:47Speaker 1: when I got to the NFL whatever eight years later,
- 15:49Speaker 1: however long it was I'm a rookie and she dms
- 15:52Speaker 1: me on Facebook She's like, hey, Rob, remember I'm the
- 15:55Speaker 1: girl that always attacked you in hockey, And I like
- 15:57Speaker 1: lost my mind. I was showing all my friends that
- 16:00Speaker 1: she said she's writing me messages. It was just it
- 16:03Speaker 1: was just cool.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Big respect to her too, even though she got that.
- 16:06Speaker 4: She's trying to slide in the DMS after Yeah, oh
- 16:09Speaker 4: he made it to the league. Rival she was your
- 16:11Speaker 4: angel Reese and you're and then all of a sudden
- 16:13Speaker 4: you make it to the league.
- 16:14Speaker 1: She's like shot out for just having the sack to
- 16:18Speaker 1: just come at me. Yeah, yeah, every single I'm sure you.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Were an absolute unit at this time too. Still real.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I was no Back in the day when
- 16:25Speaker 1: I was playing hockey. Oh, fearless, fearless I played.
- 16:29Speaker 4: We had a much different stories. So I played hockey
- 16:31Speaker 4: like when I was like eight or whatever it mights
- 16:33Speaker 4: and it was right before checking and I house House
- 16:36Speaker 4: got a hat trick. We won it. The next year
- 16:39Speaker 4: pee wee's were doing like tryouts for a travel team,
- 16:41Speaker 4: and I did not know checking was like starting right
- 16:44Speaker 4: as the whistles blowing. Some guy who I believe in
- 16:46Speaker 4: my head is still to this day he was six
- 16:47Speaker 4: seven at eight years old.
- 16:50Speaker 1: He knocks me down.
- 16:50Speaker 4: I got off the ice.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I was done.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I wanted nothing to do with it, really wanted nothing.
- 16:54Speaker 1: To do with it. Was that the last time you skate?
- 16:56Speaker 4: That was the last time, you know, they say get
- 16:58Speaker 4: back in the horse. No, I went that croom. I
- 17:00Speaker 4: took my pads off. I retired that day. Dude, that
- 17:02Speaker 4: was such a pussy growing.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Well then, what what got you into football? If you
- 17:05Speaker 1: couldn't handle no idea? How did you get into football?
- 17:09Speaker 1: I was the kid.
- 17:10Speaker 3: I was the kid that was like even hated baseball.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I think, yeah, hit with the ball and I.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Would steps me yes, I would step out of the
- 17:20Speaker 4: batter's box and like kind of swing like this.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I was one of those that bats up when the
- 17:26Speaker 1: pitchers coming, he bats up three feet in that was
- 17:29Speaker 1: mere feet. Yeah, I was because they're so scared, so scared.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Those kids drove me crazy. Yeah, yeah, that was you
- 17:36Speaker 1: would have you would have hated. Yeah, Like when did
- 17:39Speaker 1: that switch? Probably probably like.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I got a good little hair on my sack
- 17:43Speaker 4: and I was like, you know what, this physicality thing
- 17:45Speaker 4: is not bad. I like went from doing sports like
- 17:47Speaker 4: from five to eleven twelve thirteen, I did my whole
- 17:49Speaker 4: like X games, like Metal, Militia, Travis Pastrana, Niter Circuit's
- 17:53Speaker 4: life and then I got a little bit of trouble.
- 17:55Speaker 4: My dad's like, you got to play football. And we
- 17:57Speaker 4: went and played football one state my sophomore year at
- 17:59Speaker 4: nose Tackle, and from then on I was like, Yo,
- 18:02Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with football.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I loved it. Is that the dog? Yeah?
- 18:05Speaker 3: That Ralph If people who are able to see Ralphie
- 18:07Speaker 3: down here, we got Yeah, we got a little friend.
- 18:09Speaker 4: They squirrel noises in the corner over here.
- 18:12Speaker 1: He's a good boy. He's actually been on TV before.
- 18:14Speaker 1: He was in the USAA commercial with me. Oh, this
- 18:16Speaker 1: guy is a superstar.

- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not opposed to him.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I'm a little bit opposed to him.
- 19:32Speaker 1: So it's him.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Yeah, one one, So this is you're a guy. I'm
- 19:37Speaker 4: not a French.
- 19:37Speaker 1: You guy.
- 19:37Speaker 4: I think got a good coat on him.
- 19:39Speaker 1: He's got good broad.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Shoulders, got a nice coat on the boy. Looks like
- 19:41Speaker 4: got a piece on him too.
- 19:43Speaker 1: About these balls that haven't I haven't seen around Ralph
- 19:47Speaker 1: there is nickname is Ralph.
- 19:50Speaker 4: I don't want to make him uncomfortable, but yeah, yeah,
- 19:53Speaker 4: good looking dog. I just.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good boy.
- 19:58Speaker 4: This is a tough start to me in this podcast.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You know, walk off the bus, bus driver, open up
- 20:07Speaker 1: the door. Ralph and I getting off. We're going for
- 20:09Speaker 1: a walk. Yeah, we're gonna have to think about this.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We need to take a couple of deep prests.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Aren't these guys like made in the lab? Like, aren't
- 20:16Speaker 4: they like not?
- 20:17Speaker 1: I know that that is one thing that they say
- 20:19Speaker 1: about it. I just kind of plugged my ears. When
- 20:20Speaker 1: people start.
- 20:21Speaker 4: They got a lot of health issues too.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Right, a lot of health issues. But this guy, he
- 20:24Speaker 1: stays in top shape. But he's pretty healthy. It's crazy,
- 20:28Speaker 1: but majority of them, I mean, for how healthy he is,
- 20:31Speaker 1: it's still like a full time job just making sure
- 20:35Speaker 1: that he's healthy. But uh, you know, you got to
- 20:37Speaker 1: keep him active. If you don't keep them active, then
- 20:39Speaker 1: that's when all the health problems definitely really start.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Put them on the treadmill.
- 20:43Speaker 1: There's their personalities are through their roof. They're like human beings.
- 20:46Speaker 1: They're the best to be one on one with them.
- 20:49Speaker 1: They're they're just so entertaining and loving.
- 20:51Speaker 4: That's awesome having for you.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Thank you man, You're happy.
- 20:56Speaker 4: That's it, bro, That's all I can do off the bus. Dude,
- 21:01Speaker 4: let's talk about growing up.
- 21:02Speaker 1: So you grew up in like Taylor he ran over
- 21:05Speaker 1: y yeah bah dah. So you group in Buffalo with me? Guy?
- 21:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 21:13Speaker 1: I gave him a shot out, you know, a good
- 21:15Speaker 1: guy like.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Surgeon.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I had some you know, vitamins this morning, some na
- 21:20Speaker 1: D to make sure I'm clear minded. So thank you
- 21:22Speaker 1: to Arete.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Yeah in dude, Buffalo, you grew up in Buffalo. How
- 21:28Speaker 4: do you head the Tucson, Arizona?
- 21:30Speaker 1: All right?
- 21:31Speaker 4: Was it dirt bas Uh?
- 21:32Speaker 1: It wasn't dirt bags, but it should have been dirt bags. Actually,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'd never been to dirt bags before until I actually
- 21:38Speaker 1: went to the NFL, and then I was old enough.
- 21:39Speaker 1: When I came back on a visit. Uh, after my
- 21:42Speaker 1: rookie year, I was twenty one, so I finally got
- 21:44Speaker 1: to go to dirtbacks. I didn't hit any bars when no, no,
- 21:47Speaker 1: I really awed to. I mean, I would admit it
- 21:51Speaker 1: like no big deal. I didn't hit any bars. When
- 21:53Speaker 1: I was at the University of Arizona. It was literally
- 21:55Speaker 1: all house parties or going to a frat party or
- 21:57Speaker 1: having our own house party, or just running around the
- 22:00Speaker 1: streets just trying to get into a bar, but not
- 22:02Speaker 1: getting into the bar because I was, you know, never
- 22:05Speaker 1: of age. But so my brothers were getting recruited out
- 22:09Speaker 1: of high school. And my brother Chris, who's two years
- 22:13Speaker 1: older than me, well, first off, my dad's in the
- 22:15Speaker 1: business of selling fitness equipment. He's been in the business
- 22:17Speaker 1: for thirty five years now. And then he became best
- 22:20Speaker 1: friends with a guy named Donnie who did the same
- 22:23Speaker 1: thing as him, that was an alumni at the University
- 22:25Speaker 1: of Arizona but sold all his equipment in Arizona. So
- 22:28Speaker 1: then you know, they go on a work trip where
- 22:31Speaker 1: Life Fitness brings everyone because they both sell Life Fitness products.
- 22:34Speaker 1: And then what is it like a fitness convention and
- 22:38Speaker 1: then that's where they met and they became best friends.
- 22:40Speaker 1: And then when we were all just kids, so the
- 22:42Speaker 1: alumni Arizona was like, bring your kids out to Arizona.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I know the coaches, I'll get them, you know, I'll
- 22:47Speaker 1: try to get them a scholarship, show them the film,
- 22:50Speaker 1: bring them out on a trip. Come on, we got
- 22:52Speaker 1: to get it done. So I went on a trip
- 22:53Speaker 1: with my brother when he was a senior when he
- 22:56Speaker 1: went to the University of Arizona, and my dad was like, hey,
- 22:58Speaker 1: you're up next in line, Like, come on the trip,
- 23:00Speaker 1: see what it's all about to get recruited. Uh, And
- 23:03Speaker 1: then the University of Arizona was the very first cool
- 23:06Speaker 1: I basically ever seen in my life, and I fell
- 23:08Speaker 1: in love with the place. My sophomore year in high school.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I was like, this is a college. This is this
- 23:12Speaker 1: is ridiculous. I mean, it's ninety degrees, palm trees. We
- 23:16Speaker 1: went by a pool party and like, as a sophomore year,
- 23:19Speaker 1: you know in high school, you're like home.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Market out in Arizona.
- 23:21Speaker 1: This is ridiculous.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah, those Arizona schools ASU, U of AS and the
- 23:25Speaker 4: nuts exactly.
- 23:26Speaker 1: And then that's how that's how I got to University
- 23:28Speaker 1: of Arizona. I fell in love with it when I
- 23:30Speaker 1: just tagged along with my brother on his recruiting trip,
- 23:34Speaker 1: and then they started recruiting me from there. After my
- 23:36Speaker 1: brother chose to go to the University of Maryland. Then
- 23:38Speaker 1: he actually transferred to the Universe of Arizona and played
- 23:41Speaker 1: with me there for two years, and he was the
- 23:44Speaker 1: full back and I was a tight end and we
- 23:45Speaker 1: were on the field at the same time for a year,
- 23:47Speaker 1: which was just super cool to have and just ball
- 23:50Speaker 1: out with my brother. So that's how I got there.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Long story show show.
- 23:53Speaker 3: You were Were you highly recruited coming out of high school?
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a four star. I was in the
- 23:57Speaker 1: Rivals top two, one hundred and fifty. I was like
- 24:00Speaker 1: the fifth tight end on the board. He was. Fernandez
- 24:04Speaker 1: was actually number one. Really yeah, we were in the
- 24:07Speaker 1: same class. He was number one, and then there's a
- 24:09Speaker 1: couple in between. I forgot who they were, but they
- 24:12Speaker 1: never made it to the NFL, I don't think. But
- 24:14Speaker 1: it was, you know, it was, you know, the whole
- 24:18Speaker 1: entire recruiting process I went through. It was you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: enjoyable because my top four, you know were Ohio State, Clemson, Syracuse,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and Arizona, and everyone was just so surprised that I,
- 24:31Speaker 1: you know, chose Arizona to go all the way out west.
- 24:33Speaker 1: But I just fell in love with that place from
- 24:35Speaker 1: the very beginning. Loved Clemson almost went there. That was
- 24:38Speaker 1: definitely number two. Ohio State, you know, they were recruiting me.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I kind of just took a visit there because it
- 24:44Speaker 1: was the Ohio State University, and I could definitely see
- 24:47Speaker 1: myself fitting in there, you know, I can can see
- 24:50Speaker 1: myself being a Buck guy. That's when Jim Trussell was
- 24:53Speaker 1: the head coach too. The facilities were insane as well.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And then Syracuse my dad went to, but the program
- 24:59Speaker 1: was just so on low at the time. Yeah, and
- 25:01Speaker 1: I just kind of wanted to get out of the
- 25:03Speaker 1: state of New York. I didn't want to go back to,
- 25:05Speaker 1: you know, basically home where I grew up in Buffalo,
- 25:08Speaker 1: So Arizona was just a right thing.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Don't you have a legendary story from your Ohio State visit?
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yes, I do.
- 25:13Speaker 3: To where you were? What was it you were hungover?
- 25:15Speaker 1: I was super hungover. So I was a senior. I
- 25:18Speaker 1: moved to Pittsburgh my senior year in high school, so
- 25:21Speaker 1: it was an easy trip, uh, to go over, you know,
- 25:24Speaker 1: to Ohio State when they were recruiting me and then
- 25:26Speaker 1: all my friends for Buffalo. They were all older than
- 25:29Speaker 1: me and some of them went to the Ohio State University.
- 25:32Speaker 1: So I took my official visit there and I went
- 25:34Speaker 1: out with my friends the night before the game and
- 25:36Speaker 1: they showed me around. We actually got in a fight,
- 25:39Speaker 1: which wasn't surprising. That was my last time I basically brought.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I used to fight all the time when I was
- 25:44Speaker 1: a senior in high school because I was visiting my
- 25:45Speaker 1: brothers at the University of Maryland and they were just
- 25:49Speaker 1: bad ass motherfuckers, him and his roommates and they were
- 25:51Speaker 1: just brawl every weekend. I would show up and just joined, Hey, Rob,
- 25:58Speaker 1: we want to go get this one in. We literally
- 26:01Speaker 1: walked from the bar and just trying to pick a fight.
- 26:04Speaker 1: On the way home, I was running into people on purpose,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and then next thing you know, it was a five
- 26:08Speaker 1: on five brawl. I was getting thrown down a hill.
- 26:10Speaker 1: My brother kicked the guy in the face. Next thing
- 26:12Speaker 1: I know, I look up the hill and the guy's
- 26:14Speaker 1: falling down the hill. That threw me down the hill.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But I got in a little fight. It wasn't that
- 26:19Speaker 1: big of a fight at the at the Ohio State
- 26:21Speaker 1: it was just a little, you know, scuffle and uh.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But we had a good time. And the next morning
- 26:26Speaker 1: went to the game. I think that was Ohio State
- 26:29Speaker 1: Versus I forgot who they were playing, but I was hurting.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Look at this guy, the guy in the bottom all
- 26:36Speaker 4: the waters and I have yea.
- 26:38Speaker 3: All the wad Oho State. Did any of the staff
- 26:41Speaker 3: know that you had got in a fight the night before?
- 26:43Speaker 1: No, no, no clue, no clue. It wasn't that big
- 26:46Speaker 1: of a fight. It wasn't worth, you know, being in
- 26:49Speaker 1: the news either. It wasn't newsworthy. It wasn't really Like
- 26:54Speaker 1: there's no like phones back then, which was the best time.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I'm so glad none of that ship existed like when
- 27:00Speaker 1: I was in college, Like it was an era of
- 27:02Speaker 1: like the South. The camera phones were just beginning when
- 27:05Speaker 1: I was in college. But like that absolutely sucks to
- 27:07Speaker 1: be a superstar in college right now. You can't like
- 27:09Speaker 1: really live a college life because everyone has those camera phones.
- 27:12Speaker 1: If you go out, you know, to a house party,
- 27:14Speaker 1: you're's gonna be filmed. Like that's not cool at that age.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's suck.
- 27:17Speaker 1: You really can't have that true college experience. And I
- 27:20Speaker 1: feel like I was that last era to be able
- 27:22Speaker 1: to do all the crazy shit without ever being on
- 27:25Speaker 1: like a cell phone or being like reported to Twitter.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Plus I wasn't as good as you know. I was
- 27:30Speaker 1: in the NFL as I was in college. I was
- 27:32Speaker 1: a good player, but it's not like you know, people
- 27:34Speaker 1: knew me like that. I could ride around you.
- 27:36Speaker 4: But you chose to leave early.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I left early as well.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but you got to be pretty damn good to
- 27:40Speaker 4: be able to enter your name into the dream.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Which sucked because I didn't even play my junior
- 27:45Speaker 1: year really yeah, which sucked. I was about the ball
- 27:48Speaker 1: out man. I was ready to go my junior year.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Nick Foles with our quarterback. We had a solid team.
- 27:53Speaker 1: We went eight and four that year. My brother was
- 27:55Speaker 1: to fall back as well, so it sucked. I complete
- 27:57Speaker 1: with my brother, my friends with Foles, we were bawling
- 28:00Speaker 1: spring game as well. I'd like eight catches for like
- 28:01Speaker 1: one hundred in the spring game and that was the
- 28:03Speaker 1: first time that we even played together, Foles and I.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And then I just blew out my back. Bro. I
- 28:09Speaker 1: had that micro with the second me surgery where I
- 28:11Speaker 1: think it was just just going to ham in college lifting,
- 28:15Speaker 1: doing all the other you know, extra activities as well,
- 28:18Speaker 1: and then I just had a major bulging disc and
- 28:21Speaker 1: I just kept going harder and harder on it, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: like the harder I went on it, the more numb
- 28:26Speaker 1: it would get. At that moment, and I was able
- 28:27Speaker 1: to go out to practice and lift, and then like
- 28:29Speaker 1: that night, I wouldn't be able to move, and the
- 28:31Speaker 1: next day I would just go hard on it again,
- 28:33Speaker 1: and eventually I blew it out totally, like I couldn't
- 28:35Speaker 1: even feel my legs anymore when I was nineteen years old.
- 28:38Speaker 1: And then it sucked because I had to get the
- 28:40Speaker 1: surgery that and then finally I was like, yo, my
- 28:42Speaker 1: back's fucked up. And then I even went out the
- 28:45Speaker 1: training camp and got open on an in route, ran
- 28:48Speaker 1: so slow, but the well it opened up, the defense
- 28:51Speaker 1: opened up, and I caught the pass, turned around like
- 28:53Speaker 1: one mile prour and I walked off the field. I
- 28:55Speaker 1: was like, yo, I'm fucked like and then we were
- 28:57Speaker 1: finally like, all right, let's get an MRI. And my
- 28:59Speaker 1: back was blown out. The disc was so hurt, neated
- 29:01Speaker 1: on the spinal court. And then eventually I got the
- 29:04Speaker 1: surgery and missed my junior year, which you know, if
- 29:07Speaker 1: I could go back, that's one thing I would do,
- 29:09Speaker 1: is if I wish I could replay my junior year
- 29:12Speaker 1: and play at the University of Arizona. But I still
- 29:14Speaker 1: left early, still left early.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Yes, had a good couple of first years.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Then I did what was crazy is my freshman year
- 29:22Speaker 1: going in, I had six touchdowns, you know, like five
- 29:26Speaker 1: hundred something yards. I was bawling. But then going into
- 29:29Speaker 1: my sophomore year, I was like, I'm ready to dominate.
- 29:31Speaker 1: You know, it's kind of like the NFL. You know,
- 29:33Speaker 1: you're getting your feet wet. I didn't really know the
- 29:35Speaker 1: playbook that well, you know, adjusting to life, trying to
- 29:40Speaker 1: you know, do the dumb shit off the field as well,
- 29:43Speaker 1: that was more important time it was. It was really
- 29:46Speaker 1: more important to me. I'm not gonna it was probably
- 29:49Speaker 1: just as important as football was to me. Was going
- 29:51Speaker 1: out and acting like an idiot, you know, rookie year
- 29:55Speaker 1: in the NFL and freshman year of college. I mean,
- 29:57Speaker 1: you can't blame eighteen years old. Twentyyears old.
- 30:00Speaker 4: I had a place like U of A too.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And then going into my sophomore I'm ready to dominate.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I get mono, I get monos somehow, and I'm like.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And I had to miss the first three games because
- 30:12Speaker 1: they's like, oh, your spleen's blown up, you know you
- 30:14Speaker 1: gotta miss So I missed three games my sophomore year.
- 30:18Speaker 1: True sophomore year, came back and played like what is
- 30:22Speaker 1: it you missed three was twelve games and the season
- 30:24Speaker 1: played nine games, had like ten touchdowns and balled out.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And then we went to the Las Vegas Ball which
- 30:30Speaker 1: was which was my last game I played at the
- 30:32Speaker 1: University of Arizona. And that was the year my brother
- 30:34Speaker 1: and I played together and he had a great game.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I only had like, you know, twenty yards that bowl game,
- 30:40Speaker 1: but we won. It was the first bowl game that
- 30:42Speaker 1: the University of Arizona even went to in ten years,
- 30:44Speaker 1: and we won it. And then that was my last
- 30:47Speaker 1: last game as a Wildcat. But overall, I played sixteen
- 30:51Speaker 1: games in college and had sixteen touchdowns as an eighteen
- 30:54Speaker 1: year old, and nineteen.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Year old is awesome.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So I had enough film to get me, you know,
- 31:00Speaker 1: afted in the second round.
- 31:01Speaker 4: When you had the bulging discs and you got the
- 31:03Speaker 4: MRI and like you can't even fill your legs. Did
- 31:05Speaker 4: you think at any point that your career was over?
- 31:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I sure did. Actually I went and uh, actually
- 31:10Speaker 1: I was lucky enough. I had an insurance policy. My
- 31:12Speaker 1: dad got me an insurance policy going in my junior
- 31:15Speaker 1: year because I was you know, I was kind of
- 31:16Speaker 1: highly rated, you know that I could get drafted that
- 31:19Speaker 1: year in like the top three rounds. So I had
- 31:20Speaker 1: an insurance policy and I could have cashed out on
- 31:23Speaker 1: it actually because they were saying I had spinal dunosis.
- 31:27Speaker 1: What is it spinal? I wouldn't I wouldn't know spinal
- 31:30Speaker 1: what's that word snosis? I'm saying dun nosis, spinal stunnosis,
- 31:34Speaker 1: And like my spines curved and there was a lot
- 31:37Speaker 1: of question marks on my back and they were like, oh,
- 31:39Speaker 1: Like the insurance company was like, hey, you can never
- 31:41Speaker 1: play football again if you get that policy, and I
- 31:43Speaker 1: was like, I was like fuck that, I'm playing football.
- 31:45Speaker 1: That was my ultimate dream. I always wanted to be
- 31:47Speaker 1: in the NFL. I'll just work through this. But at
- 31:50Speaker 1: some points trying to come back because that was my
- 31:53Speaker 1: first surgery, like I couldn't really get that pop back
- 31:56Speaker 1: because you lose that pop because the spinal corp is
- 31:58Speaker 1: completely shut down, and like to get that pop, to
- 32:01Speaker 1: get that explosive on this back. I was training. I
- 32:04Speaker 1: left early. I was training for the combine, and right
- 32:06Speaker 1: before the combine I didn't even participate in the combine
- 32:08Speaker 1: because at that time I didn't even have that pop still,
- 32:10Speaker 1: Like I couldn't even broad jo you just.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Played high school football basically the.
- 32:14Speaker 1: NFL, and then finally boom, I got it back. And
- 32:17Speaker 1: then uh, you know, I kind of understood the recovery
- 32:20Speaker 1: process and all that, and then I was finally like,
- 32:22Speaker 1: all right, I can play again. I got this. But
- 32:24Speaker 1: there was a little point like, man, I might not
- 32:26Speaker 1: ever be able to play again because like you know that,
- 32:30Speaker 1: you know, you've never been through that experience, you know.
- 32:32Speaker 1: So I'm glad I got over that fear and over
- 32:35Speaker 1: that stage because everything worked out, didn't year, No, not
- 32:40Speaker 1: not one snap, you know, the.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Last game of him officially like as a as a
- 32:43Speaker 3: wildcat Nebraska.
- 32:47Speaker 1: No, that was the year I didn't play. Brother, Was
- 32:49Speaker 1: that a show? Were you on that team?
- 32:50Speaker 3: I was a freshman, you were a freshman.
- 32:52Speaker 1: So that was the year I didn't play the hollyball.
- 32:55Speaker 1: We got smacked by you guys. You had gotten the
- 32:57Speaker 1: dominicant sue at the time. He went what number two
- 33:00Speaker 1: overall that year. But that was the year I got hurt.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And if I didn't get hurt, we would have watched
- 33:05Speaker 1: your ass, brother, but I think we actually we would.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Have been Yeah, dude, that yeah, nothing, yeah, thirty three
- 33:14Speaker 3: to nothing.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I was chilling, chilling. Yeah, you guys are chilling when
- 33:18Speaker 1: you're I mean I was, I was young. Yeah, you
- 33:21Speaker 1: us what you're a red shirting.
- 33:23Speaker 3: This was my freshman red shirt year. Got you not
- 33:26Speaker 3: my red shirt, not my red shirt year, but my
- 33:28Speaker 3: second year.
- 33:29Speaker 4: You re freshman year.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that was bad. We got wamped. I was there,
- 33:34Speaker 1: though I was there, I didn't play that whole year. Man.
- 33:35Speaker 1: It sucked. It sucks not playing, dude. Yeah, you're just
- 33:38Speaker 1: staying there.
- 33:39Speaker 3: It's fast.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Was I was standing on.
- 33:42Speaker 3: It's fascinating to me that he got draft in the
- 33:45Speaker 3: second round and he only played sixteen games in college
- 33:48Speaker 3: and he had back surgery, and I had all these
- 33:50Speaker 3: question marks about it been going up to the combine,
- 33:53Speaker 3: like in the pre draft process.
- 33:55Speaker 1: And it didn't even participate at the combine. I did
- 33:57Speaker 1: the bench press, got twenty three.
- 34:00Speaker 3: And didn't you didn't he fall asleep in a draft interview?
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yes, with the Patriots. Bill Yeah, Bill told this story
- 34:08Speaker 1: plenty of times. This story's been talking about plenty. But
- 34:10Speaker 1: I was so tired, man, because you know that draft process.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I think it's the stupidest process as well. Like you
- 34:15Speaker 1: go from team to team, it's like you're on fifteen
- 34:18Speaker 1: flights in like fifteen days getting interviewed by all these teams,
- 34:20Speaker 1: and the Patriots were my last one, and I was exhausted.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I fell asleep like the first ten minutes I got
- 34:25Speaker 1: there in the room that they put me in there
- 34:27Speaker 1: like hey, we'll be right back, and I fell asleep
- 34:29Speaker 1: on the spot when they came back in to check
- 34:32Speaker 1: on me. And then I also bombed the interview process,
- 34:34Speaker 1: but like bombed it in the best way possible.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Something in the best way possible, all right, Like.
- 34:41Speaker 1: For example, they drew a play on the board, Billy oh,
- 34:44Speaker 1: and he's in then he raced it. He's like, draw
- 34:46Speaker 1: the play? What you got? What does everyone have? And
- 34:48Speaker 1: it was one of the hottest plays. It's still a
- 34:51Speaker 1: route that I still don't even understand, olpak. It's like
- 34:53Speaker 1: the receiver goes up and down back like a comeback,
- 34:56Speaker 1: and then he goes takes off again and he makes
- 34:58Speaker 1: another comeback something you know way.
- 35:00Speaker 4: But it was like the longest progressive play way above.
- 35:03Speaker 1: My you know, my skill set. I don't run routes
- 35:06Speaker 1: like that. I don't stop go stop too big to
- 35:09Speaker 1: stop and going. I was like what so he's like
- 35:11Speaker 1: redraw the whole play, and I was like, brother, like
- 35:14Speaker 1: I'm stuck, like I like ground zero. I'm at like
- 35:18Speaker 1: and I was like, you know something, They'll just throw
- 35:20Speaker 1: me the fucking boss still. Like like I was like that,
- 35:23Speaker 1: like that type of interview, like you just say this
- 35:26Speaker 1: is so that I would just come up with an
- 35:29Speaker 1: insane answer like.
- 35:30Speaker 4: That, yeah, just throw me the ball. Still.
- 35:33Speaker 1: That's all I know.
- 35:34Speaker 4: Did were you ever like nervous for these coaches because
- 35:36Speaker 4: they have that kind of hey, just throw me the
- 35:38Speaker 4: ball anyway, It just screams confidence.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I was never really nervous because like.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Standing up at the whiteboard with the marker in hand,
- 35:46Speaker 3: trying to think, like ship, what was the play drew?
- 35:48Speaker 3: And then just like hey.
- 35:49Speaker 4: You get a double comeback. He's just talking about like I'm.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Gonna be honest, I don't remember.
- 35:53Speaker 1: But I was cashed out though. It was like my
- 35:57Speaker 1: fifteen visit and like the last fifteen days, I was
- 36:00Speaker 1: cashed out.
- 36:02Speaker 4: And what were you You said you had fifteen visits.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Of all the visits, like which one did do the best?
- 36:07Speaker 1: It was probably about like eight visits or so fifteen
- 36:10Speaker 1: was a little exaggerated like eight, but at fifteen including
- 36:13Speaker 1: the Combine. Yeah, I've met with fifteen teams there, but
- 36:18Speaker 1: you know, I felt like they all went really smooth.
- 36:20Speaker 1: You know, I was on point with them all. You know.
- 36:22Speaker 1: The Cincinnati Bengals one, I was. I really wanted to
- 36:24Speaker 1: be on point because we all knew that they were
- 36:26Speaker 1: going to draft a tight end first round and then
- 36:28Speaker 1: they took Jermaine Gresham, but they were interviewing me like crazy.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Now they had the twenty first pick. I felt like
- 36:34Speaker 1: I smacked everything right on the money with all the questions,
- 36:38Speaker 1: my interviews at the Combine. I felt like I did
- 36:40Speaker 1: a great job and everything, but just overall just bombed
- 36:45Speaker 1: the New orleand Patriots one like bombed it, like in
- 36:49Speaker 1: the worst way possible. Like I said, like I like
- 36:53Speaker 1: when Billy Ull and Bill described how the official visit
- 36:57Speaker 1: was or it's not the official visit that's in high school.
- 37:00Speaker 1: The interview visit went. But uh, you know, and also
- 37:03Speaker 1: at the time, like there's so many players getting in
- 37:05Speaker 1: trouble in the NFL, and I remember I called my brother,
- 37:08Speaker 1: I was like, fuck this, I want to act like
- 37:09Speaker 1: a complete idiot. I feel like it gets you like
- 37:12Speaker 1: more chances, you know, because there was like five guys
- 37:14Speaker 1: that were just arrested and they were signing big deals
- 37:17Speaker 1: in the NFL. Yeah, they're like, oh, that's a good
- 37:19Speaker 1: way to think about it and look at it. Use
- 37:21Speaker 1: that theory, rob go.
- 37:24Speaker 3: And it worked.
- 37:28Speaker 1: It worked. Jones was getting arrested all the time.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a crazy time.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he signed a big deal and I
- 37:35Speaker 1: was like, yeah, it was like, if you freaking act
- 37:37Speaker 1: like a fucking insane motherfucker, you're going to get picked up.
- 37:41Speaker 3: So it's crazy.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I want the interview process like that. And it worked.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You gotta be you gotta be nuts. You got to
- 37:49Speaker 1: be tapped in order to play in the NFL as well.
- 37:52Speaker 4: I think I think it depends in the position. Depends
- 37:54Speaker 4: on the position. Like if you're a d end, a
- 37:57Speaker 4: tight end, like wide receivers and corners, they have their
- 37:59Speaker 4: own cocky personalities or stereotypical cocky personalities. Quarterbacks, I feel
- 38:03Speaker 4: like you have to be composed, calm, confident individuals, but yeahschoic,
- 38:09Speaker 4: like the psychotic tight end. Yeah, the psychotic tight end
- 38:12Speaker 4: is you made a name for the for the brand
- 38:14Speaker 4: you you you walked so that George Kittles could run
- 38:17Speaker 4: because you've got a whole bunch of different guys now
- 38:19Speaker 4: here crushing.
- 38:21Speaker 3: He's got paid big time again.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Yeah he's got paid. Yeah, thirty one getting paid like that,
- 38:32Speaker 1: well deserved. He's got a lot left. We're up this
- 38:35Speaker 1: episode to bring you dude Wipes.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Are you fumbling the ball when it comes to getting
- 38:38Speaker 4: a confident clean back in your end zone? Make the
- 38:40Speaker 4: right play, call an audible and switch from dry toilet
- 38:43Speaker 4: paper to what extra large dude wipes?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Why? The answer is very simple, what are just cleans? Better?
- 38:48Speaker 4: Dude wipes are wet and extra large, so they clear
- 38:51Speaker 4: and never smear your rear. So when you got to
- 38:53Speaker 4: go number two, be sure to bring the number one
- 38:55Speaker 4: product and clean. Dude Wipes the goat of cleaning your keyster.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Available on Amazon at Walmart nationwide. Dude Wipes Best Clean
- 39:03Speaker 4: pants down Back to this episode. So when you're you're
- 39:06Speaker 4: at the draft, first round goes by, were you like
- 39:09Speaker 4: upset at all? Or were you like we knew this was
- 39:11Speaker 4: a possibility.
- 39:13Speaker 1: No, I was upset. It's my mom says that there's
- 39:17Speaker 1: two times in my life that she's ever seen me upset.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I forgot the second time. We got to give her
- 39:23Speaker 1: a call if she told me I would remember, like
- 39:27Speaker 1: it would be like that, but she's And the other
- 39:29Speaker 1: time was not getting drafted in the first round. While
- 39:32Speaker 1: I was at the draft in New York.
- 39:33Speaker 4: City, Did you have all the cameras rounds you and everything.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Not?
- 39:36Speaker 1: Really, you know, it wasn't really expected for me to
- 39:38Speaker 1: go in the first round. It was the first time,
- 39:40Speaker 1: I like to say this, I was infamously, you know,
- 39:43Speaker 1: drafted as the first player going to New York as
- 39:48Speaker 1: the first player getting drafted at the draft in the
- 39:50Speaker 1: second round. So that's how I look at it, as
- 39:54Speaker 1: I started that trend. If you go to the draft,
- 39:55Speaker 1: it's fine that you get drafted in the second round. Still,
- 39:58Speaker 1: I was the first player to that to ever have
- 40:01Speaker 1: that happen to But there was also other ones after
- 40:04Speaker 1: me as well that year that got drafted in the
- 40:06Speaker 1: second and third round. But you know, I was ticked off.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I felt like I deserved to go in the first
- 40:10Speaker 1: I was always a goal of mine. But after I
- 40:12Speaker 1: got picked by the New England Patriots in the second
- 40:14Speaker 1: round and they traded up for me, I thought that
- 40:16Speaker 1: was really cool getting traded up for like, you know,
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's unique and like you feel special about that. Situation.
- 40:21Speaker 1: But once I got drafted, man, I didn't care one
- 40:23Speaker 1: single bit anymore that you know, I wasn't a first rounder.
- 40:27Speaker 1: It was it was a blessing and it was one
- 40:29Speaker 1: of the best feelings of all time that you know,
- 40:31Speaker 1: could ever happen to you.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Knowing that the expectation wasn't necessarily for you to go
- 40:34Speaker 3: in the first round. What made you decide to still
- 40:36Speaker 3: go to like New York and be potentially around the
- 40:38Speaker 3: cameras and everything when it's it's a possibility that you
- 40:41Speaker 3: might not go in the first round.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Well, I didn't really look at it as like, oh,
- 40:45Speaker 1: I got to be a first rounder because they drafty.
- 40:47Speaker 1: They actually brought in a lot of other players as
- 40:50Speaker 1: well that were expected to go in the second round.
- 40:52Speaker 1: So it wasn't like I was gonna, you know, feel
- 40:54Speaker 1: uncomfortable there, gotcha. So there was like five other players
- 40:57Speaker 1: that didn't get drafted. Again, it was its first year, like, hey,
- 41:00Speaker 1: we want first rounders and second rounders at the draft.
- 41:03Speaker 1: We want to expand it. We want to show the inside,
- 41:06Speaker 1: you know, for both rounds, not just the top ten picks.
- 41:08Speaker 1: So they expanded how many players they invited to the draft,
- 41:12Speaker 1: and it was about like twenty five guys there, so
- 41:14Speaker 1: like twenty five guys aren't going in the first round.
- 41:16Speaker 1: That's too hired to be able to balance at to
- 41:18Speaker 1: know who's going where. So I didn't care. I thought
- 41:21Speaker 1: it was cool. And being you know, twenty years old,
- 41:24Speaker 1: you know, you look for the spotlight then, you know,
- 41:26Speaker 1: and whenever you're going to invite, you take it. You
- 41:28Speaker 1: know at that age. Now these days you pick and choose,
- 41:31Speaker 1: like I got to go do that in front of
- 41:33Speaker 1: the camera, You're like, ah, whatever, you know, but when
- 41:35Speaker 1: you're twenty years old, you love all those moments. You're
- 41:38Speaker 1: never saying no at twenty years old. So I was
- 41:41Speaker 1: definitely not going to say no to that situation. And
- 41:44Speaker 1: you know, being at the draft, you know that as
- 41:47Speaker 1: a kid, that's all you look forward to, you know,
- 41:50Speaker 1: watching all the players get drafted, like that could be me.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I just got the invite, you know, I wasn't not
- 41:54Speaker 1: going to guys standing up there a hole in the
- 41:55Speaker 1: jersey shaking Goodell's hand exactly.
- 41:57Speaker 3: That's badass.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 41:59Speaker 4: It's awesome. Did you did you plan the celebration that
- 42:02Speaker 4: you do with your family, because it is it's got
- 42:04Speaker 4: to be number one.
- 42:05Speaker 1: It is epic and you know it's still talked about
- 42:07Speaker 1: to this day. Definitely, But that's just how we were,
- 42:10Speaker 1: you know. You know, that's how we party at the
- 42:12Speaker 1: University of Arizona. We got around, who are I jump
- 42:14Speaker 1: up and down, get rowdy, all that good stuff, and
- 42:17Speaker 1: whenever we get together as a family, it was just
- 42:19Speaker 1: bringing all the energy and juice to the table. So
- 42:21Speaker 1: we knew we were going to be celebrating, but not
- 42:24Speaker 1: to the extent of like putting the helmets on, putting
- 42:26Speaker 1: my hand down versus my brother, you know, getting in
- 42:29Speaker 1: a circle and hooing all over the place. So that
- 42:31Speaker 1: was just on the spot right there. That was cool.
- 42:36Speaker 1: It was good man.
- 42:37Speaker 3: You talked about comparing like saying that you're off the
- 42:41Speaker 3: field life was just as important to you as on
- 42:43Speaker 3: the field. Was that How long did that carry into
- 42:45Speaker 3: your NFL career?
- 42:47Speaker 1: I would say just a couple of years. I mean
- 42:49Speaker 1: I started realizing that football, you know, is definitely number
- 42:55Speaker 1: one in my life, and that football, you know, needs
- 42:59Speaker 1: to be number one. Like I can't be putting football aside.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I can't be putting the training aside just because I
- 43:06Speaker 1: want to go out hang out with the friends be
- 43:09Speaker 1: busting with the boys, and you know at whatever college
- 43:13Speaker 1: I'm visiting my buddies at because I left college early,
- 43:16Speaker 1: so after my rookie year, all my friends were still
- 43:19Speaker 1: in college, you know. So I'm visiting Miami, Ohio, which home.
- 43:23Speaker 1: My gosh, going out there. That place is crazy, rocking bro.
- 43:26Speaker 1: I got my jersey up at Brick Street still. I mean,
- 43:28Speaker 1: I'm a legend there. I'm visiting pool parties. Look at
- 43:32Speaker 1: those pictures. So I'm going Ham. At least I'm going
- 43:37Speaker 1: so Ham. I was getting exercise while I was going Ham.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I was staying in shape. I was burning at least
- 43:41Speaker 1: a thousand to two thousand calories just dancing the three
- 43:44Speaker 1: four hour period of going out. But I realized that
- 43:47Speaker 1: football has to be number one, though, and football is
- 43:50Speaker 1: going to sustain that, you know, the extra activities as well.
- 43:56Speaker 1: And so if I keep the football, you know, activities
- 43:59Speaker 1: and football all you know, skills at the highest level,
- 44:02Speaker 1: everything else is always going to be there. I learned
- 44:04Speaker 1: that about two three years into the league.
- 44:06Speaker 3: What made you come to this realization? Was it a
- 44:08Speaker 3: conversation with the teammate, just s, family members, your.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Experience of showing up the football and being deteriorated and
- 44:16Speaker 1: sucking and being out of shape and wind ind the
- 44:20Speaker 1: puke and feeling like every single one of your muscles
- 44:22Speaker 1: are gonna spas them out there on the field or
- 44:25Speaker 1: pull and like yeah, it's like miserable and you're like, yeah,
- 44:28Speaker 1: I shouldn't be out here right now. And you got
- 44:30Speaker 1: to work your way through it because you got to
- 44:31Speaker 1: show that you know, you're doing the proper things. You know,
- 44:34Speaker 1: But when when you hit you know, real life, when
- 44:37Speaker 1: you hit that realization on the field of it's not
- 44:41Speaker 1: going well, you know, that's when you know you got
- 44:43Speaker 1: to tune things up and you got to change whatever
- 44:45Speaker 1: whatever you're doing. I mean, I'm sure you experienced that
- 44:49Speaker 1: before at least once or twice.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Did your realization that football has to be the main thing? Yeah,
- 44:54Speaker 3: oh absolutely. Everyone has pretty young for me, because you
- 44:57Speaker 3: know they're hearing about the stories that you have. I
- 45:00Speaker 3: just I think in my head, like, I don't know
- 45:01Speaker 3: how I would function as an athlete in college if
- 45:05Speaker 3: I like my night life was just right there. I
- 45:08Speaker 3: put as much into my night life as I did football,
- 45:10Speaker 3: So I feel like it just wouldn't I don't know,
- 45:12Speaker 3: I feel like it genetically it wasn't. It wouldn't have
- 45:14Speaker 3: worked for me.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Well, hearing the way you talk about it, it sounds like
- 45:17Speaker 4: you were like practicing and then after practice you're like, Okay,
- 45:19Speaker 4: what are we going to do tonight? And for me,
- 45:21Speaker 4: like I have partied a lot in college in my
- 45:23Speaker 4: first couple of years in the NFL, but it was
- 45:24Speaker 4: always to me like I'd act like in my brain,
- 45:26Speaker 4: I'd be like, I'm not going to go out this weekend.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Then accidentally, all of a sudden, I'd It'd be two
- 45:30Speaker 4: am on a Saturday and I'd be up at Losers
- 45:33Speaker 4: or Rick's American Cafe in Ann Arbor. It seemed like
- 45:36Speaker 4: you were like, I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna work
- 45:38Speaker 4: really hard at football so I can go party and
- 45:41Speaker 4: get the most out of that.
- 45:42Speaker 1: There we go. That's exactly how it went, no doubt
- 45:45Speaker 1: about it. And also going out in the party, it
- 45:48Speaker 1: wasn't you know, throughout the week. It was only one
- 45:52Speaker 1: night a week, or maybe possibly two nights a week
- 45:54Speaker 1: during the off season. It wasn't an everyday thing. If
- 45:56Speaker 1: it wasn't every night thing, then I would definitely never
- 45:59Speaker 1: be where I am right now. So I always put
- 46:01Speaker 1: that work into and then sometimes we're in the weight
- 46:03Speaker 1: room and we would work harder. We would be pushing
- 46:05Speaker 1: each other harder because we'd be like, hey, you got
- 46:07Speaker 1: to look Jack tonight. You know you got extra you know,
- 46:11Speaker 1: twenty crunches, extra minute on the plank, you know, extra
- 46:15Speaker 1: set of the bench press. So that motivated you. That
- 46:18Speaker 1: got you to where you needed to get to because
- 46:19Speaker 1: then you felt like you deserve to go out that
- 46:21Speaker 1: night too. So, uh, you know it was always in
- 46:24Speaker 1: back of the mind. Uh, but it wasn't like, you know,
- 46:28Speaker 1: a daily thing. If it was a daily thing, I've
- 46:30Speaker 1: seen players go through the daily thing where they're going out,
- 46:32Speaker 1: you know, throughout the week too. And I always knew
- 46:34Speaker 1: too as a kid, even in college, I'm like, no,
- 46:37Speaker 1: I ain't touching that during the week. I ain't going
- 46:38Speaker 1: out during the week. I need my sleep, you know,
- 46:40Speaker 1: I need I need to go to classes obviously, I
- 46:43Speaker 1: need to be ready for practice. And then I always
- 46:45Speaker 1: actually did it when I always knew I had basically
- 46:47Speaker 1: had off next day as well. Yeah, sometimes in the
- 46:50Speaker 1: younger generation era, you know, you would do it with
- 46:53Speaker 1: practice till the next day at like ten am or
- 46:55Speaker 1: eleven and you would just fight your you know, fight
- 46:57Speaker 1: your life through it. But majority of the time I
- 47:00Speaker 1: would know I would have off next day as well
- 47:02Speaker 1: to recover, rehydrate and all the good stuff. So I
- 47:05Speaker 1: was I did all the all the stupid shit the
- 47:11Speaker 1: smartest way possible.
- 47:12Speaker 3: I feel that, Yeah, you grind it through it. Even
- 47:15Speaker 3: in workout. It's like if I would be hungover, Like
- 47:17Speaker 3: I remember a couple times where I'd be hungover, you
- 47:19Speaker 3: try to have a late night and you work out
- 47:20Speaker 3: the next day, and when I felt like I was
- 47:22Speaker 3: on the verge of throwing up or my body feeling
- 47:24Speaker 3: the way it did, it'd be like when you're on
- 47:25Speaker 3: a knee listening to your coach talking, I'm just thinking
- 47:27Speaker 3: in my head, I got it, i can't do this, Yeah,
- 47:30Speaker 3: I can't like continue.
- 47:30Speaker 4: I guess that's yeah, that's always the second guess, because
- 47:32Speaker 4: when you go out, you're like, this is gonna be awesome,
- 47:34Speaker 4: and then when you're a peak drunk.
- 47:35Speaker 1: You're like, I'm gonna power through tomorrow. I'm gonna absolutely
- 47:37Speaker 1: crush it.
- 47:38Speaker 4: And the minute you get wake up the next day,
- 47:40Speaker 4: I can never do that again. Yeah, But then it
- 47:42Speaker 4: goes like it's Monday, you're like, I'm not drinking. I'm
- 47:45Speaker 4: living my life like a saint. Now Tuesday comes by,
- 47:48Speaker 4: you're like just a good old boy. Wednesday, it's like,
- 47:50Speaker 4: you know, Friday is right around the corner and it
- 47:52Speaker 4: is a lot of fun. Thursday is like, all right,
- 47:55Speaker 4: one more weekend and then we're solid. And then all
- 47:57Speaker 4: of a sudden, it's Friday, Saturday, and then Sunday you're like,
- 48:00Speaker 4: all right, yes, just had that timeline, perfect, dude, because
- 48:03Speaker 4: that's what it is. You always have, Like the Sunday scariers.
- 48:05Speaker 4: You were like you've rethought your entire life, and you're like,
- 48:08Speaker 4: this is it. This is the day I changed who
- 48:09Speaker 4: I really am, and then by Friday you're back to
- 48:12Speaker 4: being the same fucking person over and over again. I
- 48:14Speaker 4: can't imagine that first offseason you had after your first
- 48:16Speaker 4: year in the NFL, because because in college, it's like
- 48:19Speaker 4: back when you played, it was you have like a
- 48:20Speaker 4: week off at most, right, two weeks if you don't
- 48:22Speaker 4: make a bowl game.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Well. The best thing about it, too, was it was
- 48:25Speaker 1: the lockout, so we weren't even allowed to have an
- 48:27Speaker 1: off season that year, So I had a true six
- 48:29Speaker 1: months of just doing whatever I wanted to do.
- 48:32Speaker 4: So I was Milichick his pants.
- 48:34Speaker 1: He really was. And that's when like kind of like
- 48:36Speaker 1: videos were starting to service on the Internet of me.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I was back at the University of Arizona with the
- 48:40Speaker 1: basketball players at a pool party, just going ape shit.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I was visiting my friends, like you said, in college Miami, Ohio.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I got to bring that place up again. I'm telling you,
- 48:48Speaker 1: a spectacular place if you're a young buck. Just the
- 48:51Speaker 1: atmosphere that that's presented there is just phenomenal, h and
- 48:56Speaker 1: just everything else. I learned what Vegas was that year
- 48:59Speaker 1: as well, after my rookie year. But this is like
- 49:02Speaker 1: I never had one. I never had the responsibility of
- 49:05Speaker 1: going back in training, you know, up in New England
- 49:07Speaker 1: because we were locked out. We weren't allowed back there
- 49:09Speaker 1: for the whole six months. And then I ended up though,
- 49:12Speaker 1: showing up and absolutely balling and training camp and having
- 49:15Speaker 1: my breakout season where I scored like twenty one touchdowns
- 49:18Speaker 1: including the playoffs, and like broke every record as a
- 49:21Speaker 1: tight end. So I guess I can contribute it to
- 49:23Speaker 1: all my dancing and all my party because I was moving.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about my stamina was up there. I was
- 49:29Speaker 1: staying loose, you know, just jiggling everything on my body,
- 49:32Speaker 1: just every type of motion you could possibly think of,
- 49:35Speaker 1: tworking to the extreme powers, like I swear, that's what
- 49:40Speaker 1: got me through. Was just NonStop movement. You know you
- 49:44Speaker 1: do the lifting. You know, they say you got to
- 49:46Speaker 1: have that base, like you know, the foundation of like
- 49:50Speaker 1: your core of being loose, flexibility and stamina of the
- 49:55Speaker 1: little muscles firing. And that's what got me the you know,
- 49:58Speaker 1: keep everything firing at a proper rate. Was all the
- 50:01Speaker 1: dancing and all the movements throwing your friends up in
- 50:04Speaker 1: the air on top of lifting as well. Yeah, when
- 50:09Speaker 1: did you? Right? I swear, though I swear, I mean
- 50:11Speaker 1: I don't really do that really. I like try to
- 50:13Speaker 1: go out and like I dance for like five minutes,
- 50:16Speaker 1: and I'm like, how the fuck was I dancing for
- 50:18Speaker 1: three hours straight? Like I can dance for five minutes.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Now I'm like all right, Like I can't dance any
- 50:23Speaker 1: longer anymore.
- 50:24Speaker 4: When did you realize that your party and your antics
- 50:27Speaker 4: could become like a massive brand, Because now you have
- 50:29Speaker 4: like grounk Beach, your brother you and your brothers. You
- 50:30Speaker 4: did the cruise, so you have you have so many
- 50:33Speaker 4: things that are revolved around a lot of things that
- 50:36Speaker 4: used to get you in trouble. When did that transition
- 50:38Speaker 4: happen where you're like, oh, I can actually make money
- 50:40Speaker 4: doing this?
- 50:41Speaker 1: Uh? You know, it kind of just happened naturally as well.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It wasn't like I was doing it as like a
- 50:46Speaker 1: scheme or a play or you know, to get like
- 50:50Speaker 1: notoriety from it. Not at all. Man. I was just
- 50:53Speaker 1: being myself. What what I've been doing since, you know,
- 50:57Speaker 1: my college days and going into the NFL. It wasn't like,
- 51:01Speaker 1: you know, anything was planned ever. I was just doing me.
- 51:04Speaker 1: And then it just kept blowing up sometimes. And that's
- 51:06Speaker 1: why I just kept doing me, because I'm like, I'm
- 51:08Speaker 1: just doing me, like I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm
- 51:11Speaker 1: just having fun, you know. And then I really noticed
- 51:13Speaker 1: a couple of years into it, like all right, like
- 51:15Speaker 1: this is starting to become something because wherever I went,
- 51:17Speaker 1: people expected it, you know, and it was cool. It
- 51:20Speaker 1: was cool as shit. It was like, all right, I'm
- 51:21Speaker 1: going out, it's going to be so turned up. But
- 51:23Speaker 1: you have the energy when you're in the twenties as
- 51:25Speaker 1: well to turn up the whole entire place. Get on
- 51:28Speaker 1: the bar, give everyone shots, all that good stuff, and
- 51:31Speaker 1: I noticed that, you know, it could possibly be a brand,
- 51:34Speaker 1: Like it's working, even though I'm just being myself. It's working.
- 51:37Speaker 1: It's blowing up, you know. At the same time, though,
- 51:40Speaker 1: I always knew that balling on the field was what
- 51:42Speaker 1: the real accelerator was, was what the engine was, was
- 51:45Speaker 1: balling on the field, because like, this guy's absolutely fucking
- 51:48Speaker 1: balling on the field, but he's going out with all
- 51:50Speaker 1: the fans as well and just having a good time
- 51:53Speaker 1: and going ham And then you know, eventually though, I
- 51:57Speaker 1: kind of got over that kind of stigma, you know,
- 52:00Speaker 1: because it was hard, you know, in your mid twenties
- 52:02Speaker 1: easily with the energy to keep up with it. But
- 52:05Speaker 1: when I was starting to fade on the football field,
- 52:08Speaker 1: that was becoming hard off the field too, because I
- 52:10Speaker 1: was starting to back away from it big time because
- 52:13Speaker 1: football was, you know, starting to get away from me,
- 52:15Speaker 1: and I didn't want football to get away from me.
- 52:17Speaker 1: So I knew I had to start changing my lifestyle
- 52:19Speaker 1: big time. So I would start picking and choosing when
- 52:22Speaker 1: I'm going out, how much I'm going out then, and
- 52:25Speaker 1: all that good stuff, because I wanted, you know, to
- 52:28Speaker 1: be on top of my game for football and now
- 52:30Speaker 1: to this day. You know, it is a brand, you know,
- 52:33Speaker 1: like a party brand, it really is. But I'm not
- 52:36Speaker 1: even close to partying how I was partying back in
- 52:39Speaker 1: the day, that twenty year old me, you know, got
- 52:43Speaker 1: that brand to sustain all the way to this day.
- 52:46Speaker 1: That's how ham I was going though back then. Yeah,
- 52:49Speaker 1: that's how much I was balling in the field. So
- 52:52Speaker 1: you know, it's cool, like throwing grunk beach, I just
- 52:54Speaker 1: pick and choose. Now, like grunk beach, I'll go hand,
- 52:56Speaker 1: but not like how I used to. You know, I
- 52:59Speaker 1: don't want to drink as much as I used to either.
- 53:01Speaker 1: It's it's not good for you. It is poison. You know.
- 53:03Speaker 1: I can't work out the next day. It takes three
- 53:06Speaker 1: days to recover. I'm really into health, you know now,
- 53:09Speaker 1: and and in fitness obviously I've been my whole life.
- 53:12Speaker 1: But uh just I'm always in for a good time.
- 53:15Speaker 1: But I'm more of the guy now you know that
- 53:18Speaker 1: likes to look like laid back and watch what's going
- 53:21Speaker 1: on and join a little bit of the action, but
- 53:24Speaker 1: you know, not going too crazy, not.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Like your young self. What were the what we're like
- 53:28Speaker 3: the coaching moments like with somebody like Bill Belichick. You
- 53:31Speaker 3: talk about how like the Patriot way, how strict he was,
- 53:33Speaker 3: how meetings could run like in the early days before
- 53:36Speaker 3: it becomes a brand. Are there any moments you're having
- 53:39Speaker 3: in the facility with Coach Belichick before it like becomes
- 53:42Speaker 3: a distraction or hey, your brand or being more than
- 53:44Speaker 3: the team. Was there like a transition there? Because obviously,
- 53:47Speaker 3: when you become drunk and you're the man, you guys
- 53:49Speaker 3: are winning super Bowls, it's a lot more accepted because
- 53:52Speaker 3: you know you're the man the Patriots are. You guys
- 53:54Speaker 3: are winning football games. But in the early years, when
- 53:56Speaker 3: you're coming back in these videos are surfacing, Is there
- 53:59Speaker 3: anything happening in meetings with Coach Bill.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Here's the thing I always knew if I showed up
- 54:04Speaker 1: and balled, I would be in good hands, still be
- 54:06Speaker 1: in good faith with the coaching staff, and Coach Belichick
- 54:09Speaker 1: let a lot of things go. If you were bawling
- 54:12Speaker 1: on the field, he didn't care if you were out
- 54:14Speaker 1: all night and showing up. As long as you produce
- 54:17Speaker 1: on that football field, he let everything go. It was fine.
- 54:22Speaker 1: But the second you started dropping off, oh shit, you
- 54:25Speaker 1: didn't want to be there. You didn't want to be
- 54:26Speaker 1: in that meeting. You're getting called out. You're going to
- 54:28Speaker 1: have a one on one meeting like hey, mother, Like
- 54:31Speaker 1: what the fuck are you doing? I see you out,
- 54:34Speaker 1: Like you can't even you know, come out to practice
- 54:37Speaker 1: and get open versus our undrafted free agent. Like so
- 54:40Speaker 1: he would let you know, and he would eventually let
- 54:42Speaker 1: you know in front of the team too, he would
- 54:44Speaker 1: call you out. So that's why, like you always had
- 54:47Speaker 1: to be on point when you enter that facility. And
- 54:49Speaker 1: that's why I believe that going to that destination, you know,
- 54:53Speaker 1: kept me on the grind too, Like yeah, the nightlife
- 54:55Speaker 1: and whatever you were doing outside of football, but the
- 54:58Speaker 1: second you stepped in that building, like you had that
- 55:01Speaker 1: motivation in that grind like oh fuck, Like I got
- 55:03Speaker 1: to absolutely dominate because I was out. Everyone saw it.
- 55:06Speaker 1: And if I don't produce on this field, oh fuck,
- 55:10Speaker 1: it's going to be a bad day for me. So
- 55:12Speaker 1: that kind of got you to that level mindset like
- 55:15Speaker 1: that you got a ball.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Did you ever have a moment with Bill where he
- 55:18Speaker 3: had to check you in a one on one or
- 55:20Speaker 3: a team meeting?
- 55:21Speaker 1: Not really, So Julian and I we went out Memorial
- 55:24Speaker 1: Day weekend to narraganinstt No Not Narro, garratt It, Nantucket,
- 55:29Speaker 1: Naragainst's and Rhode Island. We went out to Nantucket for
- 55:31Speaker 1: for Gawie weekend. We got absolutely, you know, hammered. We
- 55:36Speaker 1: were out of a golf cart. We're in the back,
- 55:40Speaker 1: Julian and I doing our thing, and the golf cart
- 55:42Speaker 1: lifted up in the air the front tires and we
- 55:44Speaker 1: landed on the ground and it was a video that
- 55:46Speaker 1: surfaced the internet and it was classic. And I remember
- 55:51Speaker 1: the next day or three days later, we go to
- 55:55Speaker 1: whatever OTAs running rounds and Bill came up to us
- 55:59Speaker 1: and we were outing all over please get all that
- 56:01Speaker 1: fucking ship out of your system. I saw you too,
- 56:04Speaker 1: idiots this weekend. You guys are fucking fools. Keep running,
- 56:09Speaker 1: get it all out of you. So we were balling
- 56:11Speaker 1: though we were out there. But Coach always got you
- 56:14Speaker 1: to that mindset hungover and not feeling so good when
- 56:16Speaker 1: you hit that field. That just the aura in New
- 56:20Speaker 1: England that got you to that mindset of whatever fuck
- 56:24Speaker 1: is in your system, however you feel get yeah, you
- 56:27Speaker 1: better not feel that way. It's gonna get it's gonna
- 56:29Speaker 1: get you over it when you hit that field right there?
- 56:33Speaker 3: Is that?
- 56:33Speaker 1: It is that the golf cart? Yeah, right there there
- 56:35Speaker 1: we are to oh the back of the golf cart broke.
- 56:38Speaker 1: That's not good. This is like two months before the season,
- 56:42Speaker 1: is it really? But Justin Timberlake loved it because that
- 56:46Speaker 1: was the same night we were, Yeah, right there, we
- 56:49Speaker 1: were dancing to a song. This is the same night
- 56:51Speaker 1: we were dancing to a song gotta feel it. Yeah,
- 56:56Speaker 1: got a feeling and we were rocking out. And then
- 56:59Speaker 1: he tweeted that, Yeah, the same night ladies to groc
- 57:03Speaker 1: get a playboy. So shout out to Justin timber That's
- 57:05Speaker 1: what I knew, all right, I gotta keep going. You
- 57:09Speaker 1: see those dance moves. Now you see why I was
- 57:11Speaker 1: getting out there. You're staying loose. Look at shimminging all
- 57:15Speaker 1: over the place.
- 57:17Speaker 4: At that what is it the shuffle? You got something
- 57:19Speaker 4: going there for sure. You talk about the aura of
- 57:24Speaker 4: New England those first couple of years, Like what was
- 57:27Speaker 4: it like for you picking up the playbook? Understanding everything
- 57:30Speaker 4: and knowing like what Tom wanted? Like how demanding was
- 57:32Speaker 4: Tom on you when it came to the playbook and
- 57:33Speaker 4: stuff like that?
- 57:34Speaker 1: Bro, That's why I didn't play like my first eight
- 57:36Speaker 1: games because I didn't really know the playbook like that.
- 57:39Speaker 1: I had the skills, I had the talent, you know,
- 57:41Speaker 1: but they didn't trust me. I even had some great
- 57:43Speaker 1: you know highlights in the preseason that year. I had
- 57:45Speaker 1: like three touchdowns drag blauring nights into the end zone.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Uh.
- 57:49Speaker 1: You like I showed some talent, Like I showed some bursts.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I showed like what the type of player I could be. Uh.
- 57:55Speaker 1: But then like practice would come still and I would
- 57:57Speaker 1: be fucking up tremendously, Like I would have five great
- 58:00Speaker 1: plays and I would have five terrible plays. I'd be
- 58:02Speaker 1: blocking the wrong guy, I'd be running the wrong route.
- 58:04Speaker 1: And when you're at that level, no matter how good
- 58:07Speaker 1: you are, if they can't trust in you doing the
- 58:09Speaker 1: right thing, well you're not going to play in New England.
- 58:12Speaker 1: They don't give a fuck how good you are. They're
- 58:14Speaker 1: not gonna play you. And they let me know that.
- 58:16Speaker 1: And the first eight games I only had about fifteen
- 58:21Speaker 1: to twenty snaps per game I was playing, And it
- 58:23Speaker 1: would only be the true plays that they would trust
- 58:26Speaker 1: in me. They say, hey, here's the twenty plays that
- 58:28Speaker 1: you know we trusting you with these twenty plays, we'll
- 58:31Speaker 1: call you in personnel when we're gonna call these plays.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I do like twenty plays a game. And then all
- 58:36Speaker 1: of a sudden, I'm bawling though I'm still showing that potential,
- 58:39Speaker 1: you know, and they're like you, we're not putting you
- 58:41Speaker 1: out on that fucking field until like we can truly
- 58:44Speaker 1: trust in you. Same with Tom, you know, coaching staff, Billy,
- 58:47Speaker 1: oh Bill. And then finally, like I was struggling because
- 58:50Speaker 1: the playbook was totally different from college. At college, I
- 58:53Speaker 1: lined up on the right every single play. I had
- 58:55Speaker 1: like five routes, you know, we had like five blocking plays, run,
- 58:58Speaker 1: place and kaboom in the playbook. And one day, I mean,
- 59:01Speaker 1: you get to New England. You got a playbook like that,
- 59:03Speaker 1: you got fifty five different formations. I gotta line up
- 59:07Speaker 1: on the left, I gotta line up and slot. There's
- 59:09Speaker 1: fifty different calls in the run game. I'm likeel fifty
- 59:11Speaker 1: different calls in the run game. Arizona, we had five
- 59:14Speaker 1: different run calls, you know. Yeah, so I couldn't get
- 59:17Speaker 1: up the pace. And then finally, like week eight, Week
- 59:20Speaker 1: a nine, all of a sudden, just everything clicked, you
- 59:22Speaker 1: know that feeling when you're like, okay, I got this.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I know everything in the playbook. Not everything, but like
- 59:27Speaker 1: I got I know enough now. And then I was
- 59:29Speaker 1: showing them on the practice field like hey, I'm consistent.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Now I'm bawling like I'm doing the right things. And
- 59:36Speaker 1: then I'll play. You know, I talked about plenty of times.
- 59:40Speaker 1: There There was a play versus Chicago Bears versus Arlacker
- 59:44Speaker 1: that I had to body him up and I did
- 59:46Speaker 1: it in practice on Friday, and they're like, we're gonna
- 59:49Speaker 1: call this play and you got you better be ready
- 59:51Speaker 1: for it. And then it was versus Arlac. I had to,
- 59:54Speaker 1: you know, get big on him in the end zone,
- 59:55Speaker 1: one yard into the into the end zone, turn on him,
- 59:58Speaker 1: use my body and the boom there as a ball.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Did it in practice, replicated in the game versus Iarlacker
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: box box him out. Uh, Tom put the ball right
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: there and I caught it. And ever since then, the
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: trust just went through the roof and I played every
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: single play after that. So the playbook, you know, I
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: to you rookies out there, get in the playbook. That's
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the first thing. It doesn't matter how good you are
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: if you don't know the plays. If you're thinking on
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: the field, you're not going to play. You're not going
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: to be the best player that you could possibly be.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: So get in the playbook and know those plays right
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: from the beginning.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: What was Tom Brady like through these growing pains your
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: rookie year?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: He was an asshole in my rookie year. He really was.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: He was like mister Bill Belichick's son at that time.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: He was mister Patriot at that time. But and he
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: was on my ass though. But you know, I see why, though,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: you know, I really see why he saw the potential
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: in me too. I remember one time I ran a
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: flag route and he always wanted me to go outside
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: of the defender, and like I didn't have the fluidity
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: to get outside of him when he was like two
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: yards outside of me and try to get open. So
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I always try to go right inside of him, make
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: a little move and try to get open the flag
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: route even though he's playing outside. And he's like, I'm
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: never gonna throw you the fucking ball. Actually, I'm never
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: throwing you the ball ever again. He said that in
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: the meeting room after I went inside on the flag round.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: But he told me five times already to get outside
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: at least show them I'm trying to get outside. But
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: I'm like it was too hard for me at that time,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Like I couldn't comprehend it, you know, the way that
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: my body was moving. I just couldn't do it. And
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: then after he said that, then that kind of clicked
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: in me too, like, oh, fuck, I gotta really try
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: to show him that I'm getting outside and just just
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: have a quarterback to be that hard on you at
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: the beginning though as a young buck, you know, it
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: can definitely deteriorate you a little bit. But he saw
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: all that potential because then right after he would say
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: something like that, Yo, stay after me with practice. Let's
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: fucking let's let's run this route twenty times. Let's get
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: you on the same page. You have to finally click.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I'm going to keep going until you click. So he
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: was really really hired on me. But I see why,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: and I respect it to the highest tea. And I'm
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: so glad that he was that hired on me as well,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: because we would have never gotten to the page and
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: the chemistry that we were at if he wasn't that
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: hired on me. And that's what makes him probably you know, well,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: the greatest player of all time because it wasn't his
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: skill set, you know, it wasn't his ability to do
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you know, what he does on the football field. It
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: was it was also the ability to bring the best
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: out of his teammates around him. Win this episode to

- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Keep it tasty, Big hugs, tiny cases. Let's get back
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: to this episode with Tom. It seems like his two
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: main guys throughout his career were like you and Edelman,
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: or just like kind of like his core guys all
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: the time. At what point did you feel like, all right,
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: I'm really in Tom's pack because a guy like that,
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: of that superstardom, Dayton Models marrying the models, like he
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: seems like he's like one of the first guys in
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: the NFL to'll be like above the NFL. And for
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: you to be like in that group with him, was
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: there like a moment where you're like, Okay, I'm I know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I'm Tom's guy now.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Kind of that moment. You know, my rookie year, you know,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I felt like I got in the pack, like after
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that play versus Earl, but I wasn't truly in it yet.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: You know, we had Wes Welker as well. I mean
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Randy Moss you know, just got traded in my rookie year,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: so he was in that pack as well. Dan Branch
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: got traded back, like he was in that pack even
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: though he left for a little bit with the Seahawks.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: We had a couple other players as well that I
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: could see that he truly trusted and that he truly
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: looked to. And I would say I truly enter. That
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: was my second year when I bloss him, and that
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: was my absolute goal as well. We talked about, yeah,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: having that lockout, but in me going hand for six
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: months straight, but also in back of my mind, football
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: was always there, and I always wanted to be the greatest.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: And I remember calling my agent, Drew Roadshouse. I said,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna be the greatest fucking tight end this season.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Watch and he's like, okay, I mean, he's like, you
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: got Antonio Gage, you got Jason Wait, And I'm like, now,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I'm telling I'm gonna be the greatest tight end this year.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: And like I had that as a mindset and I'm
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: gonna be on the same page as Brady. I get
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: what he wants now. And then going into that training camp,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: everything was just clicking and I entered that pack of
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that trust because I get that trust from Brady and
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: the coaching staff. You have to be a consistent fucking player.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: I don't care. You can show a burst of going
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: deep and making an amazing play, but if you can
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: do that one out of every ten, I mean, you're
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: not in that pack. You're not going to have that trust.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: So I showed that trust going into my second year,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: and then that's when it just all truly started clicking
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: and it lasted for ten more years straight.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: How did that was? It? Always respect from Tom when
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: he's hard on you in those moments like your rookie year.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Are you thinking, like, Yo, this dude's a fucking asshole.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: I thought he was, well, you're kind of resistant to like, hey,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: let's stay up to practice, do twenty reps, and you're
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: just like, fuck man, all right.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I thought he was an asshole for sure at first.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: You know, I'm telling you it was mister Patriot, my
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: rookie year, like like he was. He was Bill two
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: point zero. I swear, like, I'm like, man, this guy
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: zero fun zero fun like zero like. But but I
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: kind of understood it at the same time, not to
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: the full extent, you know, but.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: Once you're in this, like once you're in, you're growing,
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: you're progressing, you're getting better. You're thinking, all right, this
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: is this is where I need to kind of bum yes.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: And then once I bought in too, he loosened up
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: as well, Like he just wanted me to buy in
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: and get rid of all that bullshit that was going
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: on on the outside, or me not pay attention in
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: the meetings, or me not doing what I need to
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: do out in the football field, because he saw it
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: in me like he sees he sees potential in players.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: He knows players inside and out, like he can watch
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: film Tom he can break down a player's strength, he
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: can break down their weakness. He can break down how
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: to get open versus what you got to do. He
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: can even break down a defensive lineman like and know
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: their strengths and how to block a defensive lineman. He
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: knows the game of football like that, and that's what
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: makes it made him so great obviously. So he knew
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: what I needed to do out in the football field.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: And when I started finally doing it, when it started
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: clicking to me and I was starting to truly understand,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: that's when that relationship really blossomed, and he, you know,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: he was less hard on me. I mean still to
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: this day, he's hard on his players. I mean even
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: once you get that relationship going, because he wants that
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: relationship to keep building, you know. But it wasn't like
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: my rookie year. You know, every rookie year was tough
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: at some points. But I saw why, and I'm I'm
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: so blessed and I'm so thankful that he was like that.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: I needed it. Put it that way, I needed it.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: How hard was were they on Julian Edelman. I just
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: listened to Bill Belichick on the pivot and it seems
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: like they were extremely harder. Coach Belichick was extremely hard
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: on Julian when he got to New England.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Well, he was a year before me, so I didn't
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: really see his rookie year like that.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: Dog.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: It's a good boy though, he knows where we're a
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: good boy working. You feel safe, Yeah, he feels safe.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: He's just relaxing. That's a good boy right there. So
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: but later on, if we keep going, he'll eventually let
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: us know like, hey, hey, motherfucker humans, Hey, motherfucker humans,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: it's my turn, throw me the ball. But he's a
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: good boy. But Julian was absolute dog and they love
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: getting under his skin. If you got under Julian's skin,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: it brought the best out of them. And I would
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: say same with myself, you know, And that's why they're
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: hired on players there. Coach Belichick knew how to get
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: him play into players' minds, even if it was in
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: the most asshole way.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: That's why we respected so much and we appreciate it,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: you know, to this day. Because he was really trying
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: to make you the best fucking player that you could
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: possibly be, and he was trying to bring the best
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: out of you, and he sure did it, even though
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: whatever way he was doing it, you know, it could
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: have been vicious. You know, it could have been like, yo,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I'm about to trade you. Like he could have just
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: been making it up and then you would go absolutely balls,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: you know, out in the practice field and the games.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: So he knew how to bring the best out of players,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: especially the ones that he knew wanted it, and Julian
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: was a guy that wanted it, and he brought the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: best out of Julian and whatever techniques he was doing
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: to get under Julian's skin.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: Dude, you I mean obviously, receiving wise as where you
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: get paid, it's probably the most fun for you. But
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: from a blocking standpoint, you see so many clips of you,
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: like throwing a chip bock on trail sucks and then
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: sending them into the bleachers that the safety from the
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Colts on the goal line sitting him all the way
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: to the sidelines, tell me him no white T shirts
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: in the club. Where did the mindset come with the blocking?
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: Was it always really important to you or did you
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: learn early like this is how you become like a
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: complete tight end.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: No, it was always important to me since my high
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: school days playing football, I always just took pride in
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: the blocking game. I really did. I remember in high
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: school it was before like all the blindside blocks you know,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: got banned, which was a good thing, you know what
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I'm talking to, those crack crack black blocks. You took
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: more pride in high school when you absolutely leveled someone
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: than say, scoring a touchdown. I'm talking The touchdown was cool,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: you celebrate, but the whole sideline would go absolutely bonkers
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: if you took someone up and just planting them on
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the ground, or you blindsided someone and just flat blacked
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: them and basically put them in the hospital. So that
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: mindset was always there to just be the biggest dog,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: to be the you know, to be the strongest dog
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: out in the field, and to to be tossing people around.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Tossing people around felt like the manly thing to be
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: in the game of football. Yeah, catching touchdowns was cool,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: that came with it, but that wasn't what you wanted
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: to showcase. It was how far can you take someone
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: and just embarrass them and just show them who the
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: fuck is boss? So that's started, you know in high
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: school maybe say it would say as a kid though
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: that toughness because I was getting beat the shit out
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: of from my three older brothers and their friends at
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: all times, and they would pick on me and I
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: would just come right back at them. So that mindset
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: started then. And then in high school my senior year,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I only had eight catches my senior year in high
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: school as a tight end, and we ran the ball
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: fifty two out of fifty two plays one time, and
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: it didn't matter because we were dominating. We won the
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: game like thirty nothing. I would just take guys, drive
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: them back five yards, planning them. At one time in
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: high school, picked up a guy, brought them off the
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: sidelines ten yards and threw them over the fence. It
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: was kind of like the play, the Sergio Brown play,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: but instead I took the guy up in the air
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: at ten yards and threw them over. And now, yeah,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: just like that one. But then I took the guy
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: and threw them over the fence in high school, and
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: we just took so much pride in that, like it
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: wasn't about catches, it wasn't about touchdowns. So that translated
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: into college and everyone respected it. Everyone respected me a
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: lot more because I wasn't the guy just looking for touchdowns.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I was the guy when it came to whatever seven
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: on seven what's it called when nine and seven run period,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: that I'd be showing up. And it was all about
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: how how how bad ass can you be in the
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: run game, and how you know, how hard can you
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: block the d N and make a hole for your
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: running back?
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: Dude, there is something about having a tight end that
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: knows how to do like a trade block or a
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: triple block and knows where the right fit is, where
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: to put his hands. It makes your life so much easier.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: It's the best feeling, dude. Yeah, to this day. You know,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: when people show my highlights, I don't give a fuck,
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Like the catching highlights and touchdowns, I'm like, cool whatever,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I won't even look. I'll be like, that's cool. But
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: when I see a blocking play of mine, I rewind
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that thing I've read there. I remember Stephen Ridley, he
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: was running back, my good friend. He'd beat Kevin Hart
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: in a race like two years ago, and Kevin Hart
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: blew out his hamstring. So the NFL, you guys remember
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: that a little bit. No, he blew out his abdominal
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: and then the NFL was you know, showed oh ex
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: player Stephen Ridley, you know, blows away Kevin Hart in
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: a race. Kevin Hart blows abdomino. So then what did
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: they do? The NFL took all of Stephen Ridley's highlights
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: and they put them up on the NFL dot com
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: or whatever their Instagram page, and guess what there, I
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: was blocking and I sent it to Really, I said,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: look at that motherfucker block for you. I'm like, I
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: love the blocking highlights. And I'm I'm like surprised with
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: myself because I don't really remember, like it was just
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: a natural thing I would do, you know, and I
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: didn't really notice how important it really was. It was
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: just part of my personality, Like that's what I did.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I blocked. But when I go back and I watched
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: me block, like when I was in my heyday, like
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: the first four years, man, I was fucking tossing motherfuckers, dude,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: and I didn't really realize it that I was really
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: doing it like that. Like I was doing it like that.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: So I'll always rewind a block and I'll always make
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: sure that people see all the blocks when they're up
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: on the DV screen, which is whatever.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: With the game, were you a g that like talk
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: ship during the game, or you kind of just keeped
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: yourself and if somebody talks it to you turn it
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: up on them a little bit.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: There we go, and I love when people talk shit
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: to me, Like brought me to a whole other level.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: And that's what happened with the That's what I was
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: gonna ask ahole entire game, just yapping at me and
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: we're friends, like we're friends like in New England. I'm like, bro,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: like I'm getting open on you guys too, and we're
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: dominating you. But just kept going and going and going,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: and finally he just triggered me and I just was like,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I'm on the next blocking play again. I'm gonna just
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: keep going and going and going.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: How long was that? I'm gonna I'm gonna get him when.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I get just chirping. He was chirping the whole time. Yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: there was Dabel. You saw Dabel there giants. Now he
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: loved it too. There he is right, there was.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, good ship. How many plays so this guy's
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: chirping at you, getting after you, saying whatever? How many
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: How long after was that block for you where You're like, Okay,
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna take this kid to the episoute sound.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Oh, I was going. I didn't care if I knew
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: the play was over too. Like I saw the running
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: back score a touchdown. Oh Ship, what's his name again?
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: He had three touchdowns that came in like two hundred
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: and fifty yards.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: You just had like fifty running backs?
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, no, yeah, And then we caught him like two
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: weeks later because jonas yeah, ja so many running backs.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I just couldn't think of what it was you guys
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: running backs. I saw him score right behind me too,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: and I was like, fuck this, I'm still going. I
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: was just over him. He was just talking the whole time,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: and I just like I'm gonna I'm just gonna go
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: until he collapses and then boom finally.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Right there is why I never wanted to talk Ship. Yeah,
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: just to like, if you're going to gainst a good player,
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: you're just I'm always like complimenting. I'm complimenting.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I hated that this guy's too nice, Like I
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: don't want to it's.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's when you have a lax just like you're
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: playing a hell of a game out here, just to
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: like you never want that trigger to go off on
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: somebody because you just never fucking know. You ain't trying
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: to be on a highlight.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: No, I feel you, I mean you're you're how do
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: you feel about this?
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Oh? Man? That's that's that's a set you fifty one correct? Yeah,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: you got me solo tackle. But that's a nice uh
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: flat route though. Look at the speed I had back then.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Wish I had that speed still though, Man, look at
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: me come out of the back Was that coming out
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: of the backfield or was that just a flat route
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: at the tight position or that? Yeah? I'm flying right there.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: See I out angled you. That's how fast I was
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: back then. That should have been if you were playing
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: true technique football as a linebacker, that should have been
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: a two yard cat. Just I just beat the zone,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: beat his own.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: I think we were a man there. Yeah, so it
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: makes it even worse, worse, but you made up for it.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: You made up right there. Look at should I have
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: only about four yards? But Will couldn't close the gap fast.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Holy shit, I'm on the same page still. And that
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: was and that was. That was June twenty third, twenty
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: twenty three, all right, so that wasn't that long ago.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: But still, that was a nice tackle.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: He got one on one a lot of other men
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: have failed trying to do.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: There's a photo where it's captured from from Rob's angle
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: to where it looks like he just I mean, he
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: does stiff arm me, but it looks like they have
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: a great angle to where that should you get like
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: posterized for getting stiff armed?
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: I know, I know Gronk's a guest on our show,
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: but if you're in man coverage, are you fearful of
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: this man because he's not like it wasn't the shiftiest
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: guy in the world and you had some speedback then,
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: this is.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: You know, yeah, you know he's a stiff arm Well,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: so yeah, absolutely, Look at that pick man.
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: I see that picking.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: You got to break that down. You got to break
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: that down.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: And I.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Was on the sideline, so I knew that you had
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: silent help, so I didn't really try. I wanted you.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: I wanted you to catch the ball because I wanted
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: to pad My stats.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Was there for both of us. First down, But you
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: gotta tackle.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Tackle bright pull on the film, but comp you got
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: to fix the angle here a little bit. But hey,
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: way to get him down when he got him.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: A lot of guys fail on.
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: That, A lot of guys failed.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Mission Impossible is the greatest franchise of all time, and
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: it's one of those few franchises that feels like they
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: just constantly get better. They raise the bar. They have
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: an amazing cast, and they have incredible action.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: Scene Buddy, I could not agree more. Tom Cruise is
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: truly incredible. There's actors and actresses out there all over
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: the world. There's only a few elite actors and actresses,
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: but there's only one individual who does all of their
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: stunts and has no stunt doubles, and that is the
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: one and only Tom Cruise.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: Mission Impossible, The Final Reckoning. They have some of the
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: most dangerous stunts that have ever been filmed in cinema.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: They're incomparable visceral action for audiences around the world. I
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: don't understand how they do it each time, each.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: Move, Buddy, the stunt Tom Cruise performed on that plane,
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: That plane was going one hundred and seventy miles an
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: hour and then all of a sudden, this in sane stunt.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: That was with two million gallons of water.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: You just know at one hundred and seventy mile prior
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: wins in massive water tanks. This movie's gonna be crazy,
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: It's gonna be untouched.
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: This film is a culmination of the last thirty years.
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Every mission has led to this.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: I cannot wait to see this movie. The whole squad's
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: going and all we talk about is how we can't
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: wait to see this action on the big screen.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: Bro. Tom Cruise truly delivers in this movie. It makes
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: you wonder, will this be the final Reckoning?
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: Catch Mission Impossible? The final Reckoning in theaters this Thursday.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: You do not want to miss I want to ask.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: I gotta ask.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: You were the same same position, group, same age, What
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: was it like around Aaron Hernandez.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I was just gonna get into that De's really.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Like in your mind or you're like all the stuff
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: that comes out about him now, like going back to
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: those moments around him, are you kind of thinking your
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: head like I'm not in this world too much? But
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: there's like some there's like some shit that this guy's
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: into off the field that I don't necessarily even want
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: to know.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: Because there was we we heard stories about like him
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: being in the team meeting room, like beating off and
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: like doing crazy shit. I mean, and and honestly, if
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: you don't want to talk about me.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Possibly, that's a possibility. I may or may have not
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: seen it live. No shit, yeah, I'm not going to
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: complete I'm not.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: At the time, just thinking yourself, Man, this guy really.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: But uh, I mean I love crazy shit though, so
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: like I didn't mind things like that. I was like, wow,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: like that was pretty epic. Like I was a wild
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: man myself, so like I was like, nothing fazed me.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: I was like I encouraged it, but like never I mean,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I mean, first off, unbelievable football player. Man, you're talking
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: about the playbook me struggling with the playbook. That guy
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: knew the plays inside and out, the run game, man
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: pass game, and like the first two weeks being in
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: New England, while I struggled with it all the way
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: untol like week eight, you know. And he was bawling
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: right from the beginning. He was a basketball player out
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: on the football field, That's what he was. With his size,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: he could run, he was he was at one point
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: he was lining up at running back and having already
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: plus yard runs while I was black. I mean, you guys, yes,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: you're the best combination at the tight end position of
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: all time, and that second year proves it. I mean,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: we have like, what twenty three hundred yards combined and
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: like twenty eight touchdowns between just him and I including
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: playoffs and regular season. That's unheard of. Like, there ain't
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: no other tight end combo ever going to have fifteen
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: hundred yards combined like ever again possibly or maybe like
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: sixteen hundred yards. So we went like twenty eight hundred
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: and like twenty eight touchdowns, which is just absurd. But uh,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: there's a lot of craziness definitely. But I didn't mind it,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Like I said, I loved it. Uh, And then I
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: didn't see, you know, it going to the level that
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: it went to. I didn't see that happening Like that
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: was a surprise. It was a surprise to everyone because
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you would never expect anyone, you know, especially be in
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: that position, to have it go to the level that
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: it went to.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: And you're learning about this stuff with when all the
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: whether it's duckumentary shows coming out about it. You're learning
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: that then, and you're like, fuck, I didn't really know
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: it was that bad.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: I didn't know it was that bad. I mean I
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: knew that, you know, there was definitely some wild size
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: to him, but with everything coming out, there's there's some
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: that I would say is true, and the documentaries that
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: come out, there's some that's probably exaggerated a little bit,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: but there's some that's not exaggerated at all either. I'm
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: not going to talk about like what topics it was
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: and everything, but uh, I mean it was wild man.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I I was the guy that was truly there throughout
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: his whole career, right in the same room the whole
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: entire time. Is But it's unfortunate though what happened, because
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: the talent was just just through the roof. Man through
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: the roof, and if we could have kept our tandem going, yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: we would been just truly unstoppable. But uh yeah, that's
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: really all I got on that. Yeah, saw it, saw
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: some of it, but you didn't know it was like
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: to that extra and not surprise either now either, like
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: it's like okay, that makes sense now.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, when you guys are at practice, he got
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: charged when you guys were at practice or like like
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: you guys practice that day.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: Correct, it was an off season, it was it was
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: actually it was yeah, it was during the summer when
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: no one was actually at the facility and.
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: When like when when you found out were you like
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: at first, like there's no way this is possible? Or
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: were you like that's that's that's a tough question to ask.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: What was your thought process when you heard he was charged?
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: Well, he didn't get charged until like after the fact
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: that it all came out correct, So like when I
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: first kind of like was the thought process when I
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: first heard about you know, the situation, the real situation
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: where I was like, all right, this is trouble. Uh,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: you know, surprised, shocked big time? Uh, sad a little
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: bit like no, like no way, Like also disappointed, you know,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: like like why would you do that? Like like why,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: like what's going on? We got the whole world in
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: front of us, We got the world by the balls,
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: especially you know you and I as the tandem, Like
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: we got the best team out there everything. So it
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: was it was shocking, you know, it was sad as well,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: you know once once you really realize what truly happened.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, how was Bill Belichick? Aside from what you get
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: to see, whether he's uh in press conferences, the coaching side,
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: the Art of Winning book, Like, what's he like kind
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: of off the field or away? Because I think there's
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: a story where he showed up hammered to Randy Moss's
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: one of his costume parties or like a Halloween, like
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: what's a what's another what's a fun side of Bill Belichick?
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: All Right, here's something that a lot of people really
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: don't know is that he never really cracks jokes, you know,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: and he's always got that serious face and team meetings,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: but every once in a while, like once every two weeks,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: he would just come in with an absolute fucking banger,
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: bro I'm talking banger, and he would actually have a
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: smile on his face right after he would just drop
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: some knowledge or some you know, over the top joke
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: that just landed every time with the team, and everyone
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: would just be on the ground, that's fucking dying laughing.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: It was so it was always vicious too, the joker
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: or whatever, the knowledge was always vicious. But when he
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: came in with that, it always lightened the mood. It
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: was every it was once in a blue moon. But
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: when he did do that, man, it was good ship.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: We all appreciated it.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: You ever get to you have a party with Bill.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: He ever partaking the Gronkowski Dances.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Actually he showed up to the first Grunk Beach ever
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: when I first retired. It was in Miami. It was
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: at that Super Bowl like uh five six years ago,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: and he showed up to that grunk beach, which was
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: really cool. But other than that, he was there for
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: like five minutes. He's like, Yeah, this isn't really for
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: me showing face. Really, let's go. Yeah, he's great, but
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: I think he loves he loves the party scene more
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: than ever right now. Actually at parties. I mean he's
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: not like he's right picking out, I mean, but he's there.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: You know, he's doing his thing, and you know, he's
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: loosened up big time ever since he left being a
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: head coach in the NFL, which is cool to see.
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: Were you surprised about that him loosing up after he
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: became a head coach after he left the NFL.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Definitely, definitely surprised. I thought he would keep that mantra
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: even like going on to whatever you know, he was
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: going to do next after the NFL. I'm sure he
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: probably has that mantra while coaching, you know, the tar heels,
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: but like on the outside of everything else. I was
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: definitely surprised when he started joining you know, social media.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: You know, he joined the media game and he was
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: more loose, you know, cracking more jokes, smiling more when
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: he was making all his appearances on all the shows
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: that he was on. But it was really good to see,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Like I was happy for him, man, you know, it
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: was a different side that everyone got to see too.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: But the knowledge he drops as well is always accurate too.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Knows the game of football inside and out better than
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: anyone else out there.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: What's it like seeing all the headlines with the Jordan stuff,
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: with knowing coach Belichick as this no nonsense coach and
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: seeing all the like theatrics that have kind of came
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: with on the outside looking in, like with him at
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: North Carolina.
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: Guy, that's all about eliminating distractions.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: So that's a little surprising to me because he was
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: all about eliminating distractions, and like it's kind of I mean,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: we can't really say if it's a distraction yet or not,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: because well, no, in the win lost column this year,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: if he wins every game or puts up eight wins
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: this year at UNC, well then there was no distractions
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: at all. The distractions sometimes fuels him. I mean, how
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: much you know, crazy shit did he deal with in
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: New England From you know, Tom's things to Hernandez, to me,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: you know, in some situations, to just a lot of
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: other things that were going on, and we would just
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: go out there and win constantly at a at a
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: you know, at a rate that's never been seen before,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: and win super Bowls even though there was things going
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: on the outside. Uh you know that didn't you know
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: that we're trying to distract us, but want to get
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: to us because we would block it all out. But
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: still if there was something going on and it was
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: just at like just bickering you know, at the team
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: and like everyone had to deal with it, he would
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: kind of say something, you know, like a kind of
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: like amp and down a little bit, you know, media, Yeah,
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: like hey, this is going on, Like can you just
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: kind of diffuse the situation. So I kind of feel
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: like he's not diffusing the situation at all when it
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: could be diffused a little bit more, and it's becoming
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: a distraction to the whole entire program at the University
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: of North Carolina a little bit. So, uh, it kind
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: of goes against that. But like we said, he's also
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: loosened up tremendously and he's kind of a you know,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: changed you know, personality since being a coach in the NFL.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: But just overall, I think like football needs to come.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Once football comes, you know, I'm excited to see how
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: all that goes. You know, I'm kind of getting ann
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: about all these other things that talked about with Bill
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: right now. It's like, let's see this guy coach. You know,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: if this guy dominates, well, then let it be. And
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: if he loses out right from the beginning and he's
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: one in three, that could be a serious problem.
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: If he starts out one and three, you need to
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: fly out to North Carolina and have a one on
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: one meeting with him. We got to eliminate these distractions.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: I'll have University of North Carolina hiring me as like
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: president of all sports. Yes, so I can be president.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: Wants to beat you, You're in there and be like,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: Tom and Edelman all flight all above them too. They
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: all have to be above them.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Eliminate the distractions.
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: Come on, what are we doing out here?
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: Yeah, you want to win or not? That's what we
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: got to focus.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: We'll see, We'll see what happens, you know, Yeah, we'll
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: see what happens.
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: One in three.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: I'm going I'm pulling from. He'll be great for football.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: It'll be great for college football, like the Dion effect,
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: you know, like how much better? Like no one watched Colorado,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: It's like no one watch you, and like everyone tuned
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: in everyone, it will be tuned into you.
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: And see for sure when Tom and Bill end up
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: breaking up, Tom, you go with Tom to Tampa Bay.
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: From your vantage point, what did you see happening there
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: on the inside between their relationship, because you were saying
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: in the beginning of your career, Tom's sitting there as
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: baby Bill Belichick. He's Bill Belichick's son essentially, and then
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: they get to the end you hear about how they're
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: not really getting along culturally. They think that they're going
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: different directions. Tom and everybody, you guys lose to the
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: Titans in twenty nineteen, ending your dynasty and then retired.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: You're right, that's why you're a dynasty, do you think?
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: So what do you what did you do see happening
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: between them and that breakup?
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Well, yeah, like I said, I mean I was surprised.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: I mean, if you go all the way way back
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: to my rookie year, it was definitely like a different
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: mindset or positioning that Tom was in like he like
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: I said, he was like Bill Belichick's son, my rookie year.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I would say, I mean, I really can't talk for
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: Tom or Bill like on how the relationship, but I
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: would just say what kind of really happened was that
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Tom was probably growing older, you know, and was like,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: you know, wanted to freelance more. I would say, doesn't
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: have to be treated like a rookie. And it was
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: still going on, uh, And I would say he was
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: getting over that situation even though it was kind of
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: like that, you know, my rookie year.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and he he was, you know.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: Guys, thirty five years old now thirty six, and doesn't
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: need to be treated like arguably the goal yeah, probably
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: already the greatest of all time. It doesn't need to
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: be treated like a rookie, you know. And I would
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: say the tensions started feuding over things like in that
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: situation between them two, that's kind of like how I
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: how I saw it in a way. And then eventually
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: neither of them were gonna you know, you know, twitch
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: or like Ben the knee or Ben then yeah, bend
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: the knee. So the tension just started heating up. I
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: would say, and eventually, you know, the divorce happened, But
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: our details or what they were truly thinking, you would
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: have to ask one of them. But from an outside perspective,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: like player, I would say that's kind of how the case,
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: you know, kind of started and ended.
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: When those topics are getting talked about in the media
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: is when we you're like, oh, yeah, this is gonna
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: come to the surface sooner or later.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Uh yeah, And then it's also like, wow, it took
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: that long for it to come to the surface as well. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: Sometimes the media is right, it's like wow, it took
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: them that long. But then sometimes it's like, wait, they're
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: already way ahead of the game. How did they already
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: know that it was that that was already coming to
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: the serface, or they would come up with something that
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: wasn't even up to the surface and it was never
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: going to come up to the surface. But there's some
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: things where it's like, whoa, it took them that long,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: and you're surprised, you know, now with media these days,
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: when media doesn't catch on to something and it takes
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: a while to get out, you're surprised with that.
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: Yeah, what were the conversations that took place to get
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: you out of retirement into Tampa.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Well, everything had a you know check out for me.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: It wasn't just one situation that was gonna you know,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: get me out of retirement. First off, I had to
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: be feeling good again. I was really beat up, you know,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: those last two years in New England, and it was
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: getting tough on me, you know, playing on a weekly basis,
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: like the Sunday game. I couldn't recover until like Saturday,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: the following Saturday, and then to practice and all that.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: It was just becoming miserable. I mean everyone experiences that,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: and that's why everyone retires, especially because if you weren't
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: experiencing that and you're experiencing the joy of like playing,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: like when you're in twenty three, why the fuck would
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: you retire, you know what I mean. So when it
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: gets starts getting miserable and hard, you know, that's when
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: you want to walk away from the game. And that's
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: what I did. But I was really beat up too.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: But I was like, you know, you're kind of evolving,
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: you know, throughout your whole career. I involved found different situations,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: you know, to recover. Also different workouts you know that
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: can keep me on top of my game. Also kind
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: of needed a different scenario, you know, different program, you know,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: So when time went to Tampa, we just talked about
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: it a little bit. My mom lived down there. I
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: love Florida. Totally different organization, felt more laid back. Definitely
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: put the work in, but still more laid back like
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: a country club.
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: They wanted me as well Tampa. It wasn't just Tom
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: wanted me. The organization called me up too and they're like, yeah,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: we definitely want you be a part, you know, of
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: the Buccaneers family. I was feeling good as well and
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: felt like I had more left in the tank. So
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: every box checked off. And then obviously with Tom going
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: down there to have that chemistry and just to keep
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: it going on in a new program. So everything just
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you know, you know, pled my way and I pulled
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: the trigger to do it.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: And there it seems it sounds like they were willing
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: to like cater around your expectation what you wanted physically
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: to like what your body needed, what you needed as
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: how old are you at this time?
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: I was thirty years old.
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a thirty year three year old tight
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: tight end was back in New England when you decided
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: to retire. You talk about the joy and it just
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: you hated going up to work. Was a lot of
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: it to the expectation and the stress that would come
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: with the organization of the Patriots, like the standard that
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: had lived and they expected you to live by when
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: you're like, hey, I feel like my body would respond
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: better doing this, or I feel like I should be
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: doing this workout, because a lot of times you butt
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: heads with those third party sources that we all use
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: outside of the facility, and then you try to implement
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: them inside and the who the whole ego battle kind
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: of like butts heads.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you hit it right on the money, bro. You
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: I mean, like you said, you played for a while,
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: so you understand that. And every player kind of goes
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: through that experience too. But in a way like I
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: like in New England, like coaches never gave off anyone
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: from practice. But like at the end of my career,
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: I was like, I can't be playing in a game
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: on Sunday and practice full speed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Like
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: I'm blocking guys. Think about what I'm doing. I'm running
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: thirty five routes a game as well, like a wide
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: receiver and I'm trying to block three, you know, three
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: hundred pounders sometimes d ms that are two hundred and
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: sixty pounds linebackers that are running all over the place
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: on a continuous basis, every single place. So my energy
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: and effort, and I'll put it is higher than anyone
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: else out there on the football field if you really
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: think about it, because of the routes I got to
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: run and also to be in shape blacking, and I
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: just couldn't recover anymore. Like Wednesday would come and I
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: won't even want to hit anyone in the nine nine seven.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I'd be like yo, like I'm just gonna put my
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: hand in front of you, you know, Like I didn't
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: even want to hit, Like that's that's a bad feeling.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: You don't want to get hit and you're playing the
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: game of football. But like if I took off like
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: by like Thursday or Friday, like I was able to
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: do it again, like have that mindset like oh I'm
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: ready to hit, but like no, no one would get
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: off in practice or anything. So it was getting tough,
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: like that mentality that aura in New England, like I
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: wanted a day off of practice and all that, but
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: it was just tough, and it was tough to ask
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: for it too, because of the expectations. Right, So when
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: I got the Tampa exactly, but when I got to Tampa,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: they were kind of known, like, hey, we're gonna we
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: give vets a day off, like you got to be
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: truly proven though, like and I was proven at that time,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, I at least get one
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: day off a week, and every in training camp, every
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: three days, I get off too. And they were down
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: for it. Well, they were down.
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: I bet you could have probably negotiated more coming out
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: of retirement.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't need more though, But also with the
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: mindset coming from New England, you kind of feel like
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: you're letting the team down as well if you're taking
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: off too much, you know, especially if you're not injured
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: or you know, rehabbing an injury. But I was cool
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: with it with my mindset because I truly knew that
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: I couldn't practice every single day and then be fully
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: ready for a game on Sunday. And they gave me
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: off every Friday my two years in Tampa, which I'm
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: thankful for, which you know, I put the work in,
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: you know, Wednesday Thursday, but I truly believe that's what
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: got me to play and got me, you know, to
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: be able to play at the level I played. It
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: wasn't the highest level of football that I could possibly
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: play it like I was, but like to play at
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: the highest level at that age and where I was. Yeah,
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: taking off that Friday to at least make an impact
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: on the field.
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: Right, Well got you that incentive too, because there was
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: that clip that came out of you going up to
- 1:37:01Speaker 4: Tom being like, hey, I need one more Yes. And
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: so you guys are you were pulled out of that game? Correct,
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: and You're like, I need to go back in.
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well we were. We were whomping him. It was
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: like the third quarter. We were up like thirty five
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: nothing or thirty five seven, So they pulled all the starters.
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: But Tampa's cool, you know, they're cool like that. They
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: want you to make all the possible money that you
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: can make Offen the corner of Byron Left which always
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: said in the meeting, there's two things that you take
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: away from football. On the end, he goes, it's your
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: relationships and it's the money that you make. That's the
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: two things that stick with you forever, and he says,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: So going in, he goes, if we're up, obviously, the
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: most important thing is to win the game. But if
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: we're up and you need an extra catch, we're going
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: to get you that extra catch. We're going to get
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: you that money. So we were winning. They pulled all
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: the starters, but Tom was like, hey, we got to
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: get one more catch. We drew a play right on
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: the right on the sideline. Hey, rob motion across. You're
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: just gonna run a diagonal. I'm going to hit you
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: and boom motion across. I actually false started, but they
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: didn't get called where you lean forward a little bit? Yeah,
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: it's called what's that called again? What's the motion? Yeah?
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: But you uh, where you accidentally moved forward a little
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: bit on the motion that's appunently you're not allowed to
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: move forward. Then it is a fall start. But there's
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: a name for it. I can't think about it right now,
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: but I did that actually, but they didn't call it
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: because it was the game was just it was that
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: way out of reach, ran that diagonal. Boom time hit me.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: It was it was my I needed I think like
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: fifty five catches or something. That was my fifty fifth
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: catch to hit my last incentive in my contract. Yeah,
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: so Tampa's cool, cool like that.
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: Yeah, did you ever have incentive based stuff in your
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: contracts in New England?
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: Never? Did you ever miss one?
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: My last year in New England, I basically missed them all,
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: but my second last year in New England, I base
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: I hit them all. Did you really? I fout out
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: myself again going into that last year, but halfway through,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: half way through, I didn't even care about them anymore.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: It was just like I gotta I gotta survive. I'm
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: just trying to survive.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: Yeah, what was what was the most on you towards
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: the end? Like you're from your body standpoint, I had
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: to survive this.
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: It was it shoulder? Was your back at all?
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: Again? It was inflammation in my body? Bro insert Adam bobo. Yeah, inflammation, dude,
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Like it wasn't anything naga while my back was nagging
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: a lot, but I was inflamed. But like like I
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: still have it to this day a little bit like
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: if I go ham one day two days later, like
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: I can't move like I'm inflamed, like I'm slow. I
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: kind of actually have it a little bit today. I
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: haven't worked down like two weeks. I did a hardcore
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: yoga like forty eight hours ago exactly, and like, I
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: didn't go too hard in it because I knew I
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: was coming on. But when I get inflamed, like I'm slower,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: Like I can't run as fast, and I was like
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: I couldn't recover fast enough and get rid of that inflammation.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Even though I started finding ways to do it, It's
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: just at that rapid rate and I was so far
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: behind that just that slowness, just that not that burst anymore.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: You don't have that quickness either anymore, and it just
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: doesn't want to make you get hit either. Everything hurts
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: then too. So inflammation was, you know, my biggest killer?
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: I would say, is.
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: There a story outside of what you've already talked about
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: in past conversations where you were going to get traded
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: to Detroit? You threatened to retire they don't trade you. Yeah,
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: but was there a story behind the scenes about how
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: the organization was kind of handling your situation that isn't
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: known or that you haven't kind of talked about because
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: everybody's aware that you did the whole threat to retire
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: they don't trade do You're back in New England?
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Well, that was a tough year. We lost to the
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles that year actually in the Super Bowl after
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: we after the comeback versus Falcons, so we went back
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: to back Super Bowls. We were actually almost three Peter,
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: we went to three Super Bowls in a row, but
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: we just lost the middle one versus Egles. But that
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: year was tough, man, I'm talking just the area of
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: the organization. I don't think anyone really enjoyed that season.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: I'm talking like any player, like it was just weird.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: But we were dominating, we were still winning, and we
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: went to the Super Bowl. But just overall it was
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: it was tough. And uh what what was the question again.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: About when they were going to they were going to
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: trade you tog.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: There we go. Now, I say that that's why I
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: was bringing that up so that whole year. So then
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: I was being an asshole after that year, you know,
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: like they were trying to get a hold of me.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: I wasn't answering anything. I was saying shit in the media.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I was just being a complete asshole. And then I'm
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: with Monster Energy and Monster Energy has Monster Jam and
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: uh at the at at in New England at Gillette Stadium,
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: and I still haven't talked to anyone in the organization.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: I was kind of vocal in the media like this
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: year sucked, like kind of shit like that, like miserable here,
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Like I was one of those guys like like that
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: was like the oral when everyone was saying it sucks
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: to play in New England, Like there was those that
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: one or two years that was when the Eagles players
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: were going to the uh the parade and like ripping
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: on the organization Like yeah, I was one of the
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: guys like saying it sucks to play there like that year,
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: like it was just a tough year just overall. So
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: then I was being an asshole. I go to Monster
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: Jam and I have to have a press conference there
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: and it's all the full like for my announcers like hey,
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: like you got to do the appearance at Monster Jam,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: And I was like, oh shit. I was like, this
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: ain't going to go over so well. So I show
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: up to the press conference in the whole uniform like
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: I'm a freaking dirt bike rider with the helmet on.
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: I go up to the press conference and they just
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: start asking me football questions right away, and I'm just
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: giving fucking blatant like asshole answers back. And then a
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: week later is when I get the phone call and
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: finally I answered, hey, we're going to trade you. And
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: I never wanted to get traded. Actually, I knew it
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: was going to come down to this sell because of
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: what I was doing. It was the counter reaction, you know,
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: the organization was doing back to me like oh, he
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: wants be an asshole, Well we're going to get rid
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: of him. And that's when Patricia was the head coach
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: at the Lions too, and he's like, all right, well
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna grab Gronk then I'm gonna trade for him.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: And I got the call. I got traded, but I
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: was prepared. I was fucking prepared. I knew the phone
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: call was going to come. I knew I was going
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: to get traded. I was prepared. Hey, Rob, we're going
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: to trade you to the Lion. I said, you can't
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: trade a retired player. Yeah, right on the spot. I
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: was like, I can't trade me. I'm retired, Like I
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: just retired, Like you can't trade. My agent's like you're
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: a genius. True, I've never been in this situation before.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: And then finally they Bill was like, well then what
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: the fuck is the problem. When went in, we hash
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: everything out. I was like, the train never went through.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: Then it got acts and actually it would have been
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: through if I said no problem. But uh, I ended
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: up playing one more year doing I was like, I
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: was like, business isn't done. Like I'm just being an
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: asshole a little bit. Business not done. Let's do one
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: more year. I'm so glad I went back. I was
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: actually about to retire though too. I was really thinking
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: about it, but I didn't feel right going to another team,
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: not at all. I was like, I'm not gonna end
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: up with another team. I'll do another year in New England.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: And we ended up winning the Super Bowl. And that
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: was my last game in New England, winning that Super
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: Bowl I think fifty three in Atlanta versus Los Angeles Rams.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: I died with that catch up the middle, the twenty
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: eight yard bomb up to seem to the two yard line,
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: and then Sony Michelle ran the ball right behind me
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: in for the only touchdown of the game. So it
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: all worked out in the end.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, man made that year with Philadelphia. So hard was
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: the expectation coming off the prior Super Bowl?
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: Uh No, I was beat up a little bit. Still
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: my body wasn't responding how I wanted it to. But
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: uh just aura, Yeah it was that. No, that was
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: last year. Going in was was a lot better than
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: that Philadelphia season. I remember everyone just was pissed. I remember.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: I mean it's just hard to explain, like what like
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: what like why you just had to be a part
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: Yeah, off the field, let's go.
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: I like, off the field, You've.
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: Done a lot of cameos. I have family guy the clapper.
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: It sounds like a Venaria clapper.
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: That's well had. That's why they beat us so bad
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: in the holly Ball. We were staying away from them.
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: These guys have the clap.
- 1:44:50Speaker 4: But dude, you've done You've done all of these different
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: SpongeBob square Pants, Got to square.
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: Pants still gives me residual checks for like two grand
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: like ship like every like. I mean the show is yeah,
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: I love it, and I'm like, when did I do
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: SpongeBob SquarePants? I remember I sang though like birthday song
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: in one of the episodes. I still get residual checks
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: from it.
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: Of all these cameos that you've done, what was like
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: the like the thing you were most excited for? Now
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: do the people call you and be like, hey, we
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: want growing to do this cameo or were you ever
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: like calling your agent me and like I heard this
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: movie's coming out, I heard the show. I love the
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: show How I Met your Mother. I want to be
- 1:45:23Speaker 4: a part of.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: This kind of both, you know, especially at first, I
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: wanted to be a part of cameos, Like I wanted
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: to live that lifestyle. Like I said, I wasn't saying
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: no going to the draft any that movie with Jamie
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: Fox was any given Sunday or right. I love that movie,
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: Like I'm like, I want to live like that they
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: were a part of in the locker room after doing
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: all that good shit, you know, I wanted to live
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: like a movie. So I was just telling my people like, oh,
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: I'll do any appearance in whatever movie. And then my
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: very first one actually basically was the Entourage movie. Loved
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Entourage growing up as a kid, one of the one
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: of the best shows like that when I was in
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: high school, and I told my friends in high school,
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: so I'm gonna be on that show one fucking day
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: watch And then I ended up getting in the movie,
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: which was really really cool, and definitely I would say
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: That was one of my favorite appearances because what's funny
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: is I was writing my Private Party and so I
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: actually got to this set and I started taking shots
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: with everyone because it was like eleven thirty pm at
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: night and I was going out that night. So I
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: started getting hammered on the spot and in the scene,
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: I'm partying in the scene, so it worked out perfect. Yeah.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: I was actually hammered for that scene right now? Was
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: that was?
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: That?
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: Was that line?
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: I lived when you stood up and screened?
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: No, No, they gave it to me and I took
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: it to another level. Yeah. Yeah, he was super handicapped.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: I was actually coming off the knee injury, so I
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: was actually at you know, ACL surgery three months prior
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: to that. But then we also put the arm brace on,
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: like my arm was still freaking broken. Yeah, I was
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: had a cane as well. It just just went along.
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: Well, what was it like seeing Vinnie, Chase and Drama
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: and all those boys after watching that show for so
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: long and being able to see them, it.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: Was the best. Dude. I love them to this day.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: I see them at charity events and everything. And seeing Drama.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: I love Drama, his character and just Drama as well
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: as a person, dude, great dude, it was the best
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: to be just be a part of it, you know,
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: the dream come true?
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: Yeah, dream come true? Dude, all this stuff here, we
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: are all this stuff.
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: We are pictures right there, right there's the set.
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: At Really was that show that if you watched it
- 1:47:32Speaker 4: you wanted to be Vinnie Chase. You'd be like, how
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: do I have the ability to live this life?
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Well, Vinnie Chase was like too pretty, and like I
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: knew I couldn't be Vinnie Chase. I was kind of
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: like I just wanted to. I just want to have
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: a group like that, you know, a group of boys,
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: group of boys like that, because I was kind of
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: like Vinnie Chase, but I was more of like Johnny
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: Drama in a way. I was like them combined, you know,
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: like I got you, dude, that show. You got to
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: watch that show.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: I know I've seen You've never seen the movie.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: You've never seen the show Man the movie too. There's
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: many the show blows away the movie though, like absolutely.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: Blow Is he not?
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: Is he maybe the best character of all time?
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: Written character character? God by Fire Drama you know competes
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: with it, but he is just phenomenal dude.
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: I don't think anybody touches in the show. He is
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: so outstanding. Taylor, He's all right. I knew I saw
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: you looking at me too. I got the frenchy. He's
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: pissed off as I step out of the batter's box
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: in baseball, we can't. Yeah, one wasn't a huge fann't
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: he wasn't a huge fan.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: Well that's why I like you a lot more. Man
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: the show for you.
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: Well, all the stuff that you've done off the field.
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: It's it's rumored that you never spent a dollar of
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: your NFL earnings. Is that true?
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: Technically it's not true. Uh, well, it actually started working
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: because Drew game fifty thousand.
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: Technically it's not true. Technically it is true.
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: Technically it is true. Yes, what did I say it's
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: not true?
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: Nical?
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: Well, technically I was wrong there, but technically it's true.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: I meant it's true. Drew roshand was actually gave me
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: a fifty thousand dollars up front, like marketing budget at
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: the beginning, and you got to pay them back over
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: the time the first fifty grand you made. So I
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: actually took that fifty grand. I bought me a car,
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: you know, I paid for my spot up in New
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: England actually with it, and then as I was getting
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: a couple of deals, I paid them off. But just overall,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: you know, I actually I'm very frugal, you know, and
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: lived you know, with a roommate my first couple of years.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: I didn't know how long the NFL was gonna last.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: I was a second round pick, so it was like
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: a four year, four million dollar deal, and I was like,
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: if I played this contract out, I'll be set for life.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: I got two million dollars in my bank, I can
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: make a hundred and two hundred thousand dollars of interest.
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: I was like, if I only played three four years,
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: I'm good. And I wanted that situation for me too,
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: that I could be good as well, Like like if hey,
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: if I don't ball, if I'm not the player, you
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: know that, I think I could be whatever, I'm still
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: set for life, because two million in the bank is
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: set for life to me, you know at that time.
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: So I just always wanted to save it and I
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: just used my money that I was getting off the
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: field to just spend it on whatever I needed to
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: spend it on. And then Therefore it just kept continuing
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: and to this day, technically I have not spend any of.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: My into crazy. How when you're young, you have the
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: mindset like, if I'll have two million dollars, I'll be
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: set for life. And I know, obviously two million dollars
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: is a lot of money, But as time goes and
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: you get older in your lifestyle that you do have,
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: you're like, oh, fuck, two million. Two million wouldn't get
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: me very far if I continue to like live the
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: way you think you can live right first on a
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: deal for like four years four million dollars.
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's scary how there's always a new level to it.
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: Like you think, if I can get to this point,
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: that's all I need, blah blah blah. But then you
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: get to that point and you're like, what is this?
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: What's going on here?
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: There's a private aviation you can get on a plane
- 1:50:57Speaker 4: and just kind of go where you want. That's pretty crazy,
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: and always just it's always changing. It's always, Yeah.
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: I told you he's gonna be quiet the whole entire time.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: He's gonna let us know when it's his turn. And
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: now he's letting us know it's his turn, all right,
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: but buddy, buddy, we still got a little bit longer,
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: just a little just a little bit harder. We'll give you.
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: We'll give us ten, buddy.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: Give us a little bit longer. Buddy. I told you though,
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: I call him. I know this guy way too. Uh yeah, see,
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: come do come up here, good dog.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: Don't you think about old Ravees in New England?
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: I think that's I mean, I was waiting for this
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: subject to come up actually because you guys know Rabes.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: You guys both played for him. But I think that's
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: the perfect fit, you know, for New England overall, just
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: for the organization, for the fan base, for the Craft family.
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: Uh you know, I just love his mantra. I love
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: what he stands for. I never really met Rabel before,
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: just for a quick second. I've heard plenty of stories
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: of him because he was that first era of being
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: a you know, a Patriot and winning all the Super Bowls,
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: but just to see the way he progressed as a
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: coach too. That's why he's such a good fit too
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: for New England, because he's established. He put his time
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: in as a player, put his time in as a coach,
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: going to Ohio State, working his way up going to
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: Houston is like what DC or whatever and getting the head.
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: So he took a step every single way to get
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: to where he is and I think he just has
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: the personality just from just seeing it and just hearing
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: from other players that I think he's the truest perfect
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: fit possibly possible for the second era, you know, after
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Bill Belichick and what they're doing so far in New England.
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: I mean, you can't really argue with any of the
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: moves that they have made so far. I think they
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: have made every move, you know, correctly with the draft,
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: with who they took, all the way from free agency,
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: they had all that money, they went and got the
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: guys they needed to get for the positions they needed
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: to get. You never know, though, like when you make
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: a team out of free agency, you never know how
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: it's going to be. A guy like rabel I feel
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: like he can gel him because he's a guy that
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: can gel people from I mean he played offense before
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: special teams defense.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: Those guys, Yeah, they'll tell you, He'll tell you.
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: He'll tell you. He's done it all too. I mean,
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: fourteen years in the NFL and he's been the guy
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: on every part of the entire roster. I mean, if
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: you look at like the Titans in twenty twenty one,
- 1:53:11Speaker 4: I think they set a record for the most players
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: played because of all the injuries, and we were the
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: number one seed going into the playoffs. Obviously we lost
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: the first round we played, but that that shows a
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: guy that can gel his team. I really, I think
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: it just depends on Drake May. If Drake May can
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: show up in a big way and take a step
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: from here one year two, like the Patriots could be good,
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: actually good with all the with all the free agency acquisitions.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: I'm going on record to say that they're making the
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: playoffs this year as well. I don't think you know
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: that they may they have a chance at the division,
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: but the Bells, but it's it's AFC. Dolphins are gonna dolphin.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: You know, they're gonna look beautiful real quick out of
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: the water, and they're gonna sink back down. The Jets. Yeah,
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: I mean, we know they're just too far away still,
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: I mean, uh, and then the Bells are gonna you know,
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: Bills are good, they're established, They're gonna obviously be the dominant.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: But I think the Patriots they can they can sneak
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: into the playoffs this year. I can see that. I
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: don't think they're gonna, you know, compete for a super Bowl,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: but I think in the end, in the two three years,
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: possibly yes, But this year they're going to be making
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: a big impact.
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: I mean, if you go from what the fourth overall
- 1:54:18Speaker 4: pick this year to the playoffs the next year, that's
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: a huge jump.
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: We should get a speaking of since we're all team
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: fan duel, we should get a little futures parlay going.
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: I want to say the Commanders over unders nine and
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: a half, Titans are five and a half and Patriots
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: are seven and a half. Wins, get a little combine
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: them all, futures bed hit the overs, hit the overs
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: on them all.
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: Why are we hitting the overs with the Titans? Why
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: can't we each do the over and then the Titans
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: we do the under.
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: You think the Titans will struggle in that win over
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: get six games?
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: I don't think so. Now, how many did they get
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: last year?
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: Three?
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I think they got three. I think they got four
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: or five in them this year? No, was it five?
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: I know this is the improvement. Yeah, they got they
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: got the quarterback number one overall pick. But I'm just
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: saying overall what else did they get. This is a
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: good page they did.
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: They paid a left tackle eighty million dollars and they're
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: gonna move their left eckle from last year. Put all
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: seventeen games. He was a top ten pick over to
- 1:55:09Speaker 4: the right side. They got Zeitler at right guard. Now
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: they got Cushion Berry at center. And then you have
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: a guy going to his third year that was a
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: eleventh overall pick. It's Peter Skronski at left guard. So
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: we have a good offensive line. All right, all right,
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: you got Calvin Ridley and you got two great backs
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: and Spears and Pollard and you got it really depends
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: on like cam Ward can If cam Wore can be
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: who we've kind of seen him be, then they are
- 1:55:33Speaker 4: going to easily win over five minutes.
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: It's all on cam Ward.
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: It is just like just like just like the Patriots,
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: it's all on Drake May because you got seven and
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: a half.
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: We got five and a half. With that breakdown, you know,
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: I feel more comfortable taking me over.
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: I will say, well, let me put a meeting tea meeting.
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: Maybe we go both options and under one, well under
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: seven and a half.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they got we gotta go over if I
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: say they're making the play, you're saying can be over. Yeah,
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: and that's a weak division as well. You know monster,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: you have a monster yeah with the Bills. But going
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: over big, I'm going over big time.
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: We're all just going to be so biased.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: And then what's the.
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: Commander is ninety and a half and half, which is
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: a big one, but that is Big Daniels in a
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: second year, I mean, and they only upgraded their.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Team as well. They went out and got some more talent.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: You know, you got Cliff Kingsbury is off in the corner.
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: He's established. He knows how to handle players, and he
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: knows how to break down players talent as well and
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: use it. So I like the over. We got to
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: do a parlay where it's just all over there.
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: But big go up to go up to September fourteenth,
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: it's the first game or September seventh, September seventh, Raiders
- 1:56:42Speaker 4: dub but Pete Carroll, Yeah, the new running back in there,
- 1:56:48Speaker 4: Gino Smith is there. They're going to run the ball,
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: They're going to play good football. Toss up. You said
- 1:56:53Speaker 4: the Dolphins come out of come out of the water
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: early in the season and look really pretty now On's
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: in Miami, and that on's in Miami.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: It's in Miami. But did you see portnoy break down
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: the Patriots schedule.
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought he's a great job.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: I mean they're going seventeen and oh so he did
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: do a great job.
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: He did a good jay.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: He did a good job that I like. Usually I looked,
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: I was like five and a half minutes, like the
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: first thirty seconds, the first breakdown of the first game.
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: I was like, all right. I was like, maybe I
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: can watch five and a half minutes. But he was
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: so good and entertaining the first, you know, breakdown of
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: the Las Vegas game, I was like, all right, I
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: gotta watch every single one. I watched the whole entire
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: video and I literally walked away like that was good.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: It might be seventeen, Yeah, that might be.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: There's a reason why Daves where Dave's act. Yeah, he
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: can talk.
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: But Steelers, we're breaking down the whole schedule.
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: I'm just looking at seven games.
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: They're going above seven. I mean, we got the Steelers number.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: The Patriots always take down the Steelers no matter what
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: you guys.
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: Have, we just do schedule. You got the Panthers it's
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: very favorite Saints, Browns, Falcons.
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we feel good about seven and a half. There, Jets,
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: we feel good about it.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: We're going over seven and a half. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: The Titians, I know, I talked a big about their offense,
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: but they are going to have holes on defense, like
- 1:58:05Speaker 4: they're going to have their cornerback. Their secondary is going
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: to be a tough position.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: And that's gonna be tough on a rookie quarterback then too,
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: because if rookie quarterback needs help from the defense in
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: order to get truly established and understand everything going on and.
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: From behind all the time exactly.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: And when you're playing from behind as a rookie, it's
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: tough to get over that hump. Then you know, it's
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: tough to win games. I mean, you got to be
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: truly established as a quarterback in order to understand, like,
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: all right, this is what we got to do from behind,
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: this is what we got to do with a shitty defense, right,
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: that's hired to understand your rookie year.
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: Yeah, you know in the.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: NFL at that position. But uh, I'm down. I'm down
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: the dude, I'm down to parlay. Actually, I got my
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: phone right here. I'm gonna put the parlay in right.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: Now, at least build it so I won that bet.
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: I won that bet last night. Florida Panther is taking
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: down you know, the Toronto maple leafs in game seven?
- 1:58:52Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: Do you need another moment of silence for that?
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: Appreciate you, Thank you for thinking about my feelings, but
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: we do need to We're gonna go to tier talk
- 1:59:01Speaker 4: while you're putting that in and Tier talk responsor by

- 1:59:56Speaker 1: Well that is for me.
- 1:59:57Speaker 4: Yeah, let's go.
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: All right, here we go. I got the odds for
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans regular season wins, but they give plenty
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: of odds. You can do over three and a half wins,
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: or over five and a half wins, or over seven
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: and a half wins. So you're saying the standard odds though,
- 2:00:17Speaker 1: are over five and a half wins.
- 2:00:18Speaker 4: What does it say?
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: Straight up? I don't know. It's minus one thirty for
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: five and a.
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: Half wins, and then that's the one that they'll be.
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: All right, So that's the one we want right there?
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: So how do I parlay that? Do I go to
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: another bed? All right, I'll go to the New England Patriots?
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: All right there, Washington commanders, click that. So what we
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: want to over nine and a half wins? That's minus
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: one time. That's the one we want then all right,
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: all right, there we go that that parlay, same game parlay.
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: And now we're going with the New England Patriots. Where
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: are you guys right there? Over under seven and a
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: half minus one fifty. That's it, just clicked it all right?
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: Oh now it's a plus four seventy three overall.
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: Four seventy three for this so how much?
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: So this is a future bat. I'm gonna do it.
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: Don't do it yet. We might get it.
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: We could.
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: We could get a little juice from FanDuel. Yeah, like
- 2:01:13Speaker 3: we tell them, we get we get done with the bus,
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: we hit a FanDuel. Hey, we want to put this
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: rock and the boys parlay.
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm gonna I'm gonna put a put a
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: little something on it now and then I'm gonna go
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: big when they give us that little juice. Yeah, so
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna do I'm gonna do three hundred. There we go,
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: three hundred right there, three hundred. I'm gonna win fourteen hundred. Okay,
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: that's about right there. I'm feeling good, We're all feeling
- 2:01:37Speaker 1: good about it.
- 2:01:38Speaker 4: I'm thinking about this tier talk right now. Our Tier
- 2:01:40Speaker 4: talk today is gonna be best movie couples, So that's
- 2:01:42Speaker 4: what I'm hearing.
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: Yeah, best movie couples, which is tough. I thought about
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: it is it's very hard.
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: I love like the outside football talk. I thrive. Football
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: is great to talk about, but I can't talk too
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: much football. I really can't.
- 2:01:55Speaker 4: If it came out, you're to talk about more than
- 2:01:57Speaker 4: just football.
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: I love talking more. I love off the old time. Yeah,
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: breaking conversations. My uh so, what's this one?
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: I'll kick it off with tier talk.
- 2:02:05Speaker 1: All right, Sorry, tear talk is what I live for.
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: Tier three, Tier two, Tier one. You're ranking them three
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: all the way. We got honorable mention as well. You
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: can anson all right, and for an honorable mention, my
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: first honorable mention is going to be Noah and Ali
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: from the Notebook. It's a movie that will stay in
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: the test of time. Great love story. I do enjoy love,
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: and sticking on the theme of love, enjoy love. I
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: do enjoy love. I love a good tier drinks.
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: Love is the greatest drug out there.
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: Amen. Amen. My Tier three is going to be Jerry
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: and Holly from PS I Love You. Great tier jerker movie,
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: right there, Great tier jerker movie where Jerry knows he's
- 2:02:42Speaker 3: going to die and he writes these little ps I
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: love you notes all throughout her life she finds them.
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: It is a very great love story. My tier two
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: is going to be Rocky and Adrian one of the
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: best proposals of all time, where he says, hey, you know,
- 2:02:56Speaker 3: what are you.
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: Doing for the next forty to fifty years And she's.
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: Like, I don't know why. He's like, you wouldn't mind
- 2:03:01Speaker 3: marrying me too much? Anything right, And she's like, huh,
- 2:03:04Speaker 3: He's like, you wouldn't mind marrying me too much? She says, yes,
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: Rocky Adrian. Great love story. That is my tier too.
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: My Tier one is none other than Shrek and Fiona
- 2:03:15Speaker 3: O great ones.
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: Oh man, you.
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: Know it gets into the end. She loves Shrek. She
- 2:03:24Speaker 3: doesn't want to be with the prince, she doesn't care
- 2:03:26Speaker 3: to be the queen. And that is all time love story.
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: That is my tier one.
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: I watched that with Camille last year for the first time,
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: and I'm in love. I'm in love with Trek.
- 2:03:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Shrek is a great, great movie. Have you watched
- 2:03:38Speaker 3: all of them since?
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: In some comparisons? Yeah, I can't believe you didn't say that.
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you know, no homo, I think you're
- 2:03:46Speaker 3: no paus really too, I think you're a good looking cat.
- 2:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah you're not.
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: I'm in a way.
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: You got some ogre tenons.
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go. Yeah, shrunkk it kind of looks
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: like me a little bit.
- 2:04:02Speaker 4: So now we give one word to describe how we
- 2:04:04Speaker 4: feel about will Scheer talk. I'll go first, hyphenated, saved it.
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: What was your one word, saved it? That's two hyphen
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: Oh that's one. Uh spectacular yeah mm hmm.
- 2:04:22Speaker 3: Thank you boys.
- 2:04:24Speaker 5: Yeah, shrunk, m lovely, buzzer beater, emotional, money, strong, touching.
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: Wow, thank you boys, thank you.
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: Wow. I was getting turned on from all those descriptions.
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: Because yeah, because you got that, Uh, I get that.
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: And yourself really did feel it back there. The emotions
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: a boy's emotions.
- 2:04:56Speaker 3: Taylor, would you like to go second? Or should we go?
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: Do we want to throw the grunk?
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: All right? So just best movie couples? Yeah, all right,
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: my honorable mention. I'm gonna go with my girlfriend and
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: Channing Tatum in in the movie Oh shit, what was
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: that movie that she was in? Free Guy? In Free Guy?
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: It was the opening scene. Yeah, it was really it
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: was really touching. It's honorable mention because they weren't really dating,
- 2:05:24Speaker 1: but like they kind of where it was like going
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: on a date, like the opening scene. It was. It was,
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: but I gotta give it honorable mention.
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: He's a rocket, Yeah, I know he is, and he's
- 2:05:34Speaker 3: got moves. B you talk about dance.
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: I know, I wonder what happened behind the scenes. Yeah, So, uh,
- 2:05:40Speaker 1: that's honorable mention. You gotta see it, free guy. It's
- 2:05:43Speaker 1: a great movie. She's not she's a hot chick in
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: the beginning in the car with Channing. Yeah, yeah, there
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: they are right there, and that's bad ass. Yeah, that's
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: a good one. It was a badass scene. So I
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: gotta give her some credit there. She did very well
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: throughout that whole movie. And then uh, I'll go with
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: number three. I'll go with uh, Justin Baldini and Blake
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: Lively and it ends with us. Yeah. I still haven't
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: seen the movie, but it's talked about so much that
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: I gotta, you know, put them in in in that
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: ballgame of being top three. I mean, when you talked
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: about that much, it's got to be a power couple,
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: you know. Throughout the movie. It ends with us, So
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: that's number three, Number two, Tier two, I'll go with
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: Shila Buff you say for Shia La Buff and uh
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: Megan Fox in the Transformers Transformers one one. Yeah, that's yeah,
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: that was excellent, dude, who doesn't love you know, Transformers
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: one and and they were like an ultra power couple
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: in that movie, and uh number one. You know it
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: was a real life relationship at the time too, and
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: also they made one of the best movies of all
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: the time. I'm a big action guy, mister and missus
- 2:06:59Speaker 1: Smith and Jolie and Brad Pitt. Yes, it hit all
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: aspects of that category because they are a real life relationship.
- 2:07:08Speaker 1: It was a relationship in the movie. And it's also
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: an action movie and I love action movies. So that's
- 2:07:13Speaker 1: number one by far for me. Mm hmm.
- 2:07:16Speaker 3: My word fireworks is that two words?
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: Is that fireworks combined or or with the little dash
- 2:07:24Speaker 1: like fire dash words?
- 2:07:25Speaker 3: Fireworks is one word.
- 2:07:27Speaker 1: It is one word. You're right, Yeah, that's how you're
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: using it the way you're using just testing making sure.
- 2:07:34Speaker 4: My one word amazing, boys, shrunk, shrunk again, perfect, incredible, strong, hyphenated, gronk, spike.
- 2:07:50Speaker 1: Okay, that's one word. Solid, Elite.
- 2:08:00Speaker 4: And Mister and Missus Smith is one that's not on
- 2:08:02Speaker 4: my list, And if I could redo it, I probably
- 2:08:04Speaker 4: would because it's so great, but I'm not gonna take it.
- 2:08:07Speaker 4: My Tier three is gonna go to Test and Finn
- 2:08:11Speaker 4: from Fools Gold that's played by Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.
- 2:08:14Speaker 4: Now at the beginning of the movie they're getting divorced.
- 2:08:16Speaker 4: The whole movie, they're getting divorced towards Dan. You'll have
- 2:08:18Speaker 4: to watch it spoiler alert. They get back together. It's
- 2:08:21Speaker 4: a beautiful one in Matthew McConaughey looks phenomenal movie. Not
- 2:08:24Speaker 4: to educate.
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: I actually just read his book green Light. I just
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: finished it. This song very solid. Any chance if you
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: like to read books, read Matthew McConaughey's book.
- 2:08:33Speaker 4: Shout out Matthew McConaughey. My Tier two is gonna go
- 2:08:37Speaker 4: to Vanessa and Deadpool. In the first movie, the passion
- 2:08:42Speaker 4: that those two have with each other, trying to outdo
- 2:08:45Speaker 4: each other, and how bad their child childhoods are. They
- 2:08:47Speaker 4: didn't get engaged with a was it a ring pop?
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: And then all of a.
- 2:08:51Speaker 4: Sudden, the big C word comes and obviously we know
- 2:08:53Speaker 4: how the whole entire movie goes. My Tier one is
- 2:08:57Speaker 4: gonna go to uh, Jeremy Gray and John Beckwith from
- 2:09:06Speaker 4: Wedding Crashers. You probably say, Taylor, that's two guys. They
- 2:09:08Speaker 4: weren't married. Life in business is like a marriage with
- 2:09:12Speaker 4: your best friends. Those two working together tirelessly during wedding
- 2:09:16Speaker 4: season to grab and stab all these other beautiful women
- 2:09:19Speaker 4: is something that takes a lifelong friendship to achieve, which
- 2:09:23Speaker 4: is a marriage. And that is why they're my tier one.
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: All right, I'll go first. I'll say creative because of
- 2:09:32Speaker 1: the of your Tier one.
- 2:09:34Speaker 4: Thank you, waam, greatest hits, Mazzele, top.
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: Ring, Pop, silver medal, those are those are both need
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: gotta say hyphen.
- 2:09:53Speaker 1: Hyphenated. Third place?
- 2:09:56Speaker 4: Boom boom boom, how many.
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: Three booms?
- 2:10:05Speaker 4: Okay, okay, boom boom boom?
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: Great?
- 2:10:10Speaker 4: Here can you understand? You understood the assignment?
- 2:10:14Speaker 1: Like I said, man, outside of football, I love conversation
- 2:10:18Speaker 1: like football. Can you know go for so long?
- 2:10:20Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:10:21Speaker 4: What this episode to bring you true classic. Now listen,
- 2:10:24Speaker 4: you're gonna find true classes at Costco Nashville, June thirteenth.
- 2:10:27Speaker 4: That's what you're gonna find it also Sam's Club Target
- 2:10:30Speaker 4: or online at true Classes dot Com Forward slash Busting.
- 2:10:33Speaker 4: They've done so well they're doing a kids and women's
- 2:10:36Speaker 4: line launch later this year. Now you might see me
- 2:10:39Speaker 4: wearing the all black my usual cartoon uniform right now,
- 2:10:42Speaker 4: grabs the shoulders, holds the chest in real nice. Can
- 2:10:45Speaker 4: we get a can we get a wide match? I
- 2:10:46Speaker 4: want to show them a little how the hew flexible
- 2:10:47Speaker 4: this is.
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: So.
- 2:10:49Speaker 4: I got the left leg up here, I'm gonna bring
- 2:10:51Speaker 4: that down, bring that all the.
- 2:10:53Speaker 3: Way there right there.
- 2:10:55Speaker 4: The only thing hold me back to my own flexibility.
- 2:10:57Speaker 4: That's the only thing holding me back.
- 2:10:58Speaker 3: You see very good mobility, very good range by True Classic.
- 2:11:04Speaker 4: Great job, True Classic. They look good, so you can
- 2:11:08Speaker 4: play good. Let's get back to this episode.
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: Here's a football here's a question in the football world. However,
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: I think it involves you being a student of the
- 2:11:16Speaker 3: game and giving game to the fellow young ones out there.
- 2:11:20Speaker 3: During the COVID year when a lot of things were virtual.
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: You are.
- 2:11:23Speaker 3: There's a story about you potentially wearing different T shirts
- 2:11:26Speaker 3: while you're doing a sprint workout to send it in
- 2:11:28Speaker 3: give some game to the young counts out there, and
- 2:11:30Speaker 3: how you game.
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: Yes, you got it. Work smarter, not hired or Borys.
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: You know, that's what it's all about, and that's what
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: you know, keeps you around a lot harder too. So
- 2:11:37Speaker 1: you can work as hard as you want. But if
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: you're doing something that's making you insane and you just
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: keep working harder, you're gonna get more insane, you know.
- 2:11:44Speaker 1: But you gotta work smarter, so you're supposed to. You know,
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: during COVID, you were doing all the workouts at home
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: and you had to send it into an app that
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: you were proved to prove that you were doing the workouts.
- 2:11:53Speaker 1: So you actually had to film yourself like benching and
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: film yourself, you know, running the routes or running the sprints,
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: but you didn't have to do the whole entire bench
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: like it was like your last set, or you would
- 2:12:03Speaker 1: have to, you know, show like two of the runs
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: that you were doing. So instead of filming myself running
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: every time, I just filmed so that day you have
- 2:12:12Speaker 1: twelve runs, so you got to show two of them.
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: So instead of filling myself every single time to submit
- 2:12:19Speaker 1: the runs, I brought out six different T shirts and
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: every two runs I would switch my T shirt up
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: and then film the whole entire run that day, and
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: then I would submit those two runs with a different
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: T shirt on every single time that those moments came
- 2:12:31Speaker 1: up that I had to submit it, and so I
- 2:12:33Speaker 1: tricked them. I tricked them, So technically maybe I didn't
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: run that day then because I was like, I'll just
- 2:12:40Speaker 1: use the video.
- 2:12:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I hit the bench.
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: Tricked them.
- 2:12:45Speaker 4: When did do you? Did you tell on yourself or
- 2:12:47Speaker 4: did somebody ever find out?
- 2:12:48Speaker 1: I told on myself, told the story to the reporters
- 2:12:52Speaker 1: actually that year and then like once like like what
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: the fuck? I got everyone hitting me up? You're an ass?
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: He thought it was great. That is a funny, funny
- 2:13:04Speaker 1: piece of game.
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:13:06Speaker 4: Last question, the bud light question. Everybody knows anybody they
- 2:13:11Speaker 4: would do anything for a bud light. What is one
- 2:13:13Speaker 4: one thing that Rob Gronkowski would do anything for? Can't
- 2:13:16Speaker 4: say family?
- 2:13:18Speaker 1: Oh uh, well my dog's technically family, right yeah, yeah, girl,
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: technically family. Yeah. So what would I do anything for? Ah? Dang,
- 2:13:37Speaker 1: you know that's that's a really good question. I would
- 2:13:41Speaker 1: do anything to be happy at all times twenty four
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: to seven.
- 2:13:45Speaker 4: That would be something special.
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: Well, you can't go against that, right, Oh you know,
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: I don't think, Yeah, they'd be happy at all times.
- 2:13:52Speaker 4: What about what about playing your junior of college?
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: Okay, all right, physically that's mentally so now physically I
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: would go back. I would love to play my junior
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: year in college. And also I transferred my senior year
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: in high school. If I could somehow play that year
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: that I played in Pittsburgh but also play the year
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: at my old old high school as well. Yeah, so
- 2:14:20Speaker 1: if I could like do double senior seasons in high
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: school and play the year my junior year in college
- 2:14:26Speaker 1: at Arizona, because you do you like when you leave,
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: like you missed your boy, like I left my boys,
- 2:14:31Speaker 1: like in high school. You know, I went to a
- 2:14:33Speaker 1: different school. I was getting trouble and stuff. There's a
- 2:14:35Speaker 1: lot more to it. But then I went to Pittsburgh
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: my senior year. But like, you know, I'm still friends
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: with all those guys like to this day, and like
- 2:14:42Speaker 1: you're leaving them, you know, I mean it's for the
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: better in the end, Like it worked out for sure,
- 2:14:48Speaker 1: but like still like you wish you could. You know,
- 2:14:50Speaker 1: you watch all the high school movies and everything, like
- 2:14:53Speaker 1: Friday Night Lights and like you wish you could finish
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: strong with the people you started with, but it just
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: didn't work that way. And same with you know, my
- 2:15:00Speaker 1: third year, you know, at the University of Arizona. So
- 2:15:03Speaker 1: I would do anything. You're right mentally to be happy
- 2:15:06Speaker 1: at all the times. So it's being happy's great, like
- 2:15:08Speaker 1: and energize and energize and then physically go back and
- 2:15:12Speaker 1: play those years.
- 2:15:13Speaker 4: I love it.
- 2:15:13Speaker 3: What's something you weren't necessarily prepared for kind of kind
- 2:15:17Speaker 3: of came as a surprise, like during retirement, Like you're
- 2:15:20Speaker 3: a guy Hall of Fame career, one of the best
- 2:15:21Speaker 3: to ever do it, and you obviously tasted retirement that
- 2:15:24Speaker 3: one year and then you came back to Tampa Bay.
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: But now you're like officially retired. What's something you feel
- 2:15:29Speaker 3: like you didn't necessarily see coming with retirement?
- 2:15:32Speaker 1: You know, being on a routine. You know, when you're
- 2:15:34Speaker 1: playing ball and you're an athlete your whole life, you
- 2:15:36Speaker 1: always have a routine. You gotta be at practice, you
- 2:15:38Speaker 1: gotta you know, be in the film room like it's there,
- 2:15:42Speaker 1: like it's handed to you like a you know, a
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: schedule every single day, that routine you know what to
- 2:15:47Speaker 1: do and get prepared for and then once you retire,
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: that routine's totally thrown out the window. It's kind of
- 2:15:53Speaker 1: up to you now to schedule, you know, when you're
- 2:15:56Speaker 1: going to work out, when you're going to do this,
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: when you're going to study, all that good stuff. So
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: just getting on a routine and when you totally get
- 2:16:02Speaker 1: off of it as well, it fucks with you. You know,
- 2:16:05Speaker 1: like you're you're kind of like mentally weak. Sometimes you're
- 2:16:08Speaker 1: flying all over the place, you're not doing the right things,
- 2:16:10Speaker 1: you're not getting your workouts in, uh and and all
- 2:16:13Speaker 1: that good stuff. And you're just so used to doing
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: all that, you know, on a continuous basis, even if
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: you don't feel like it. You have to do it
- 2:16:20Speaker 1: when you're an athlete because everyone else is doing it.
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: You don't have that push around you. So that that
- 2:16:24Speaker 1: was that's the tough spot, is getting that push, you know,
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: to get to the next level. And also that routine
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: of always you know, being on the grind and getting
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: things done.
- 2:16:34Speaker 3: Yeah, because when it's snowballs, you're just laying there and
- 2:16:36Speaker 3: you just get so mad at yourself from falling out
- 2:16:38Speaker 3: of a routine. Yeah, then you start talking to yourself
- 2:16:40Speaker 3: like in ways like you said, like mentally weak, Like
- 2:16:42Speaker 3: I'm fucking for right, Look.
- 2:16:43Speaker 4: What's happened to you? You look at an old photo
- 2:16:45Speaker 4: of yourself, like that guy worked hard.
- 2:16:47Speaker 1: But you guys, you guys got it down though, Like
- 2:16:49Speaker 1: look at you guys that keep each other, you accountable.
- 2:16:51Speaker 1: I bet you know doing the show, you got to
- 2:16:52Speaker 1: get a routine and you know, get prepared for it.
- 2:16:55Speaker 1: You know, study up. Same thing with myself and Julian. Uh,
- 2:16:59Speaker 1: we got our podcast Dudes on Dudes, So you got
- 2:17:01Speaker 1: to prepare for that, get mentally readily kind of physically
- 2:17:04Speaker 1: ready to because you want to be physically feeling good
- 2:17:06Speaker 1: at all times. It keeps your mental game sharp. So
- 2:17:09Speaker 1: you just got to find, you know, the guys out
- 2:17:11Speaker 1: there that want to get on the same page with
- 2:17:13Speaker 1: you and want to do that as well.
- 2:17:15Speaker 3: What is it like diving into the podcast world with jewels, Yeah,
- 2:17:18Speaker 3: it's great.
- 2:17:19Speaker 1: And what's great about it, Julian already had his podcast
- 2:17:22Speaker 1: games with names, So yeah, Julian was experienced the podcast.
- 2:17:25Speaker 1: I never thought it was like really for me. I
- 2:17:26Speaker 1: always liked going on people's podcasts, but I was like,
- 2:17:29Speaker 1: I said, no, for like ever, I was like I
- 2:17:30Speaker 1: don't want to start my own podcast. But then once
- 2:17:32Speaker 1: I went on Julian's and we had the chemistry, and
- 2:17:34Speaker 1: then I saw that Julian can carry the load of
- 2:17:36Speaker 1: the podcast too, the load. We were just talking about
- 2:17:40Speaker 1: that on Sunday Conversations. He's like, oh, Julian takes the
- 2:17:42Speaker 1: whole load of the podcast. I was like, yeah, so
- 2:17:45Speaker 1: that just brought you a kind of trigger to my mind.
- 2:17:48Speaker 1: But I was like, all right, so he's going to
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: be the like, he's going to be there to help
- 2:17:51Speaker 1: me along and everything, and it's just great to have
- 2:17:54Speaker 1: a teammate. So I was like, this is perfect. And
- 2:17:56Speaker 1: his team around him was already experienced, everything set up
- 2:17:59Speaker 1: ready to go right when you walk in. So I
- 2:18:01Speaker 1: was like, I can do it now, and it was
- 2:18:03Speaker 1: just the right fit. It's kind of like going to
- 2:18:04Speaker 1: Tampa had to be the right fit.
- 2:18:05Speaker 3: Yeah, do you travel out there to do it each
- 2:18:07Speaker 3: time you guys do the pod?
- 2:18:09Speaker 1: Well, I'm in La all the time for the pregame
- 2:18:11Speaker 1: for the Fox show. Uh So we usually just knock
- 2:18:14Speaker 1: out an episode or two on like that Monday or
- 2:18:16Speaker 1: Friday or something, and now that it's offseason, we get
- 2:18:19Speaker 1: together like we were just in Boston last week. We
- 2:18:21Speaker 1: knocked out two episodes. But if we're not, we just
- 2:18:24Speaker 1: do it over zoom. Got Yeah, so half of them
- 2:18:26Speaker 1: right now in the season are over zoom. The other
- 2:18:28Speaker 1: half are one we can get in person whenever we can.
- 2:18:30Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 2:18:31Speaker 3: And we got to get all the boys together.
- 2:18:33Speaker 4: Yeah, we can get the four of us in one room.
- 2:18:34Speaker 4: That'd be awesome.
- 2:18:35Speaker 1: There really was, the dudes, it would be good stuff. Gosh,
- 2:18:39Speaker 1: are you guys? Basically you guys are like football with
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: a little all football with a little everything else as well.
- 2:18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like probably seventy percent football and the off
- 2:18:49Speaker 4: season two. Like I mean we have like comedians, musicians,
- 2:18:52Speaker 4: like all coaches, players, all these different things.
- 2:18:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we were. We were basically out football
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: in the first couple though, and I was like, bro,
- 2:19:00Speaker 1: I'm not all football, like like I can't. So now
- 2:19:02Speaker 1: we're switching up with like fan questions or like or
- 2:19:05Speaker 1: that like tier talk that we just did with the
- 2:19:07Speaker 1: movie couples. Like we come up with segments like that
- 2:19:09Speaker 1: now too, And I'm like this is way better. Like
- 2:19:11Speaker 1: football is great for half of it, but the other half.
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: I wanted up this freelance was going on what you're
- 2:19:15Speaker 1: doing at the moment, like what you learn, like new technique,
- 2:19:18Speaker 1: new trick in life or whatever with new hack, just whatever,
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: just go off. So not just all about football now
- 2:19:24Speaker 1: we're kind of blostoming more like because of it, hot
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: topics whatever he's talked about right there. So football is great,
- 2:19:30Speaker 1: I mean, but like to do it twenty four seven.
- 2:19:32Speaker 1: I like, I like abroad of you know, of everything.
- 2:19:35Speaker 4: I'm with you on that, absolutely with you before we
- 2:19:37Speaker 4: let mister Gronkowski go. Does anybody have a question back there?
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: They like to ask anybody feel free. I thought that
- 2:19:45Speaker 1: guy in the middle would ask me where I get
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: my ivs from me? You know, we already brought it
- 2:19:49Speaker 1: up where you guys get your ivs from you in Nashville.
- 2:19:53Speaker 1: So yeah, he does do a good job. You know.
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: I don't want to give him the credit, but he's
- 2:19:57Speaker 1: gonna yeah. And he does rehydrate you well. So these
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: unbelievable nurses there that work really hard, yes, and they
- 2:20:06Speaker 1: actually deserve all the credit, all the women nurses that
- 2:20:09Speaker 1: he has hired rite in Nashville. They do get you
- 2:20:12Speaker 1: hydrated and filled you up with the best vitamins in
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: the game. Those solid Yeah, the nurses you run that company.
- 2:20:20Speaker 4: Run it run. Yeah, I really do without the nurses
- 2:20:24Speaker 4: all the work at the beginning, yeah started started. Yeah,
- 2:20:28Speaker 4: but what we do. Appreciate me for the show. You
- 2:20:30Speaker 4: were talking about giving us all free i VS like
- 2:20:31Speaker 4: next two months. So I appreciate you saying.
- 2:20:33Speaker 1: I agree, and that is awesome. Thank you. And if
- 2:20:40Speaker 1: you're listening and and you hear this, just walk in
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: and say I heard you're giving out free i V. Yeah, yes,
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: on the grond episode free IV.
- 2:20:52Speaker 4: So that is big time. But you have to give unity.
- 2:20:54Speaker 1: You have to give it. We're not saying any DAL
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: vitamin bag, the athlete bag. You have to give out.
- 2:20:59Speaker 1: Someone comes.
- 2:21:00Speaker 4: But you remember he was saying.
- 2:21:01Speaker 1: You were saying that he was giving all of us
- 2:21:03Speaker 1: n A D for free. Yeah we're getting a yeah,
- 2:21:05Speaker 1: but they can get If you hear that, you can
- 2:21:07Speaker 1: get a vitamin bag. Yeah, for free. We don't want
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: to bankrupt. No, just a big bag.
- 2:21:12Speaker 4: Get in there, small bag too.
- 2:21:15Speaker 1: Small, No small bag, big bagsfferent, it's just fluid fluids
- 2:21:19Speaker 1: five cents, even though you get charged one hundred dollars.
- 2:21:25Speaker 1: Gotta make a profit. Got to make a profit.
- 2:21:28Speaker 3: Margins are healthy. Yeah, it's like ice cream, ice cream margins,
- 2:21:35Speaker 3: ice cream margins.
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: Did you have a questions? Hey, I got it.
- 2:21:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:21:38Speaker 1: When when do ice cream companies make their most amount
- 2:21:41Speaker 1: of money? Yeah? Like what month?
- 2:21:45Speaker 3: July?
- 2:21:47Speaker 1: June? See, that's what you think. It's actually May. It's
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: like right when the weather blossoms, because everyone wants to
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: hurry up and get there. I heard they make all
- 2:21:54Speaker 1: their money for the whole year. Yes, June, July, and
- 2:21:56Speaker 1: August are great, but when it's truly packed, it's the
- 2:21:59Speaker 1: first month that it as the sun comes out. I
- 2:22:01Speaker 1: learned that. That's what That's why I've been that's crazy
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: because everyone goes crazy. It's like when the weather's nice outside.
- 2:22:07Speaker 1: How how bzonkers is it outside WI.
- 2:22:11Speaker 4: The first week around?
- 2:22:12Speaker 1: Yeah? Well later in the summertime you go out on Saturday,
- 2:22:15Speaker 1: it's like, ah, people like, oh, we've seen the sun
- 2:22:16Speaker 1: every single day now.
- 2:22:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:22:18Speaker 1: Right, everyone goes ape ship when it's the first you know,
- 2:22:21Speaker 1: week of nice weather. Same with the ice cream world when.
- 2:22:24Speaker 4: It comes it comes to the ice ground. I don't
- 2:22:25Speaker 4: discriminate on weather. I'll take down on ice cream.
- 2:22:27Speaker 1: In the middle of January.
- 2:22:29Speaker 4: I love that stuff. Love it. Go ahead, Jackie.
- 2:22:32Speaker 5: Was the Steve Harvey lego head spike scripted?
- 2:22:35Speaker 1: Damn, damn, that's a good question, and everyone wants to
- 2:22:39Speaker 1: know that. Actually, it's still talked about to this day.
- 2:22:41Speaker 1: That was a legendary moment by far. We were hosting
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: New Year's Eve on Fox, and uh, I spiked Steve
- 2:22:46Speaker 1: Harvey lego set of of his head, of his face.
- 2:22:49Speaker 1: But uh, what was scripted was that I was gonna
- 2:22:52Speaker 1: spike it. Like I knew I was spiking it. They
- 2:22:55Speaker 1: had me, uh in the script, Hey, grink, you're gonna
- 2:22:58Speaker 1: spike the Steve le Uh, Steve Harvey legos, not Steve Harvey. Steve.
- 2:23:03Speaker 1: My names are all over to place. Steve. You're right,
- 2:23:06Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. I'm getting him confused with another Steve, I know.
- 2:23:10Speaker 1: But the Steve Harvey lego said, hey, you're gonna spike it.
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: So when I spiked it, that that was kind of
- 2:23:15Speaker 1: you know, understood, understood, that was kind of But his
- 2:23:19Speaker 1: reaction was not scripted at all. And I'm not sure
- 2:23:23Speaker 1: either if he knew I was gonna spike it or not.
- 2:23:27Speaker 1: I knew I was going to from the beginning. I'm
- 2:23:29Speaker 1: not sure if he knew, but his reaction was priceless. Man,
- 2:23:32Speaker 1: Like it felt like he was truly pissed if he
- 2:23:35Speaker 1: truly was, But.
- 2:23:36Speaker 3: How was how was the dynamic after around him?
- 2:23:39Speaker 1: And he was going he didn't bring it up after
- 2:23:41Speaker 1: like it was like he was like nice Spike, but
- 2:23:44Speaker 1: like he wasn't like out the screen like why the
- 2:23:46Speaker 1: fuck did you do that? No? No, like he acted
- 2:23:49Speaker 1: like that like when it happened. I mean he kind
- 2:23:51Speaker 1: of got me scared. I was like, oh shit, like
- 2:23:53Speaker 1: was I really supposed to do that or not? Like
- 2:23:56Speaker 1: he's pissed. But it was good. It was TV. It
- 2:24:00Speaker 1: was one of my best movements, one of my best
- 2:24:02Speaker 1: moments on TV of all time. I love it.
- 2:24:05Speaker 3: I love it.
- 2:24:05Speaker 4: Boys, We feel good.
- 2:24:07Speaker 1: Any other questions back there? I know, but I don't
- 2:24:08Speaker 1: like telling anyone that's scripted because everyone truly believes it
- 2:24:11Speaker 1: was like right on the spot, like I decided to do.
- 2:24:14Speaker 1: Steve sells it. Yeah, he sells it big time. Yeah
- 2:24:16Speaker 1: he solid that good. So yeah, it was scripted, but
- 2:24:18Speaker 1: it was kind of it was unscripted. Scripted unscripted scripted.
