- Lucas: Ciao Luna, bentornata! Ready for another Italian adventure? Luna: Ciao Lucas! I'm so ready. What are we learning today? More picnic phrases? Lucas: Not exactly. We've done a lot of picnic, so today let's move around a bit. Let's play a sport at the park. Luna: Oh, like soccer or tennis? Lucas: We covered those in episodes 101 and 102. Today let's try something a little different — frisbee! Luna: Frisbee! I love frisbee. Okay, I need the phrases. Lucas: First, to ask someone if they play: 'Giochi a frisbee?' That means 'Do you play frisbee?' Luna: Giochi a frisbee? Got it. Giochi a frisbee. Lucas: Exactly. Now Luna, you're holding the frisbee and you want to throw it to me. You can say: 'Lancia il frisbee!' — 'Throw the frisbee!' Luna: Lancia il frisbee! That sounds fun. Lancia il frisbee. Lucas: Perfect. And after a good throw, you can compliment me: 'Bel lancio!' — 'Nice throw!' Luna: Bel lancio! That's easy. Bel lancio. Lucas: Now if the frisbee is coming toward you, you might say: 'Prendo io!' — 'I'll catch it!' or 'I've got it!' Luna: Prendo io! So that's like calling it. Prendo io. Lucas: Yes. And to invite someone to play with you: 'Giochiamo a frisbee insieme?' — 'Shall we play frisbee together?' Luna: Giochiamo a frisbee insieme? That's a nice one. And the answer is 'Buona idea!' — 'Good idea!' right? Lucas: Exactly! 'Buona idea!' You remembered from episode 102. Great. Luna: Okay, let me practice all of them. Giochi a frisbee? Lancia il frisbee! Bel lancio! Prendo io! Giochiamo a frisbee insieme? Buona idea! Lucas: Wow, that was smooth. You sound like a natural. Luna: Thanks! I'm ready for a game now. Let's imagine we're at the park. Lucas: Okay, I'll start. Ciao Luna, giochi a frisbee? Luna: Sì, certo! Giochiamo a frisbee insieme? Lucas: Buona idea! Lancia il frisbee! Luna: Ecco! Prendo io! Bel lancio, Lucas! Lucas: Grazie! Bel lancio anche a te! See, you're already having a conversation. Luna: That felt so real. I love how these little phrases build up.
