- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville jackwares fans welcome into Duval daily presented by jing jack.com and fueled by brass tax coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It is Monday, October 12th and it is a victory Monday here in Duval and across the pond in London as your jackwares.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: 19 to 17 win over the Eagles, one of the more improbable wins I think I've ever seen in Jaguar's history and there have been some very, very improbable wins at the last second for your Jaguars, but that was absolutely one of them and not a clean game, a lot of concerns overall.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: going to get into all that stuff, but let's not shy away from the fact that the Jaguars are in a great spot.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: They're a 4-in-1.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: They're in first place in the AFC South, first place in their division by multiple games.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: The team in the second right now is
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: is the cults and quite frankly, they don't look great.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: I still think that the biggest threat to the Jaguar still is the Houston Texans despite them only being one and four.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans just traded for Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars will be hosting hosting the Texans.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: and London this upcoming Sunday at 9.30 a.m.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: I will be there at that game so with the family that'll be fun to kind of experience that for the first time I haven't been over there for a Jaguar's game yet and so yeah that'll be exciting to be over there be with family have a good time but you know they have a great defense they have the best run defense in the world.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: 2.9 yards per carry allowed this year.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Incredible defensive front against the run to the linebackers to the secondary that plays their tails off against the run.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars really have what it takes to make opponents one dimensional.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: and they've done it against a bunch of different types of opponents so far this year.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that is awesome.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: They have an extremely high ceiling offense.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: They have great coaching.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Their special teams is rounding into form.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are in a great place.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I say all that to say there are concerns.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna get into those concerns right now.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.

- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dooval gear.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Not doing a victory Monday sale this week because I'm leaving to go out of town.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want people waiting on their orders too long.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Anything like that.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: I've got some orders to get out today.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: But you can still check out the shop.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you get in any orders Monday or Tuesday of this week,
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get them in the mail before heading over to London.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I would, so injury-wise, let's start with the injuries.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: Concerned with Anton Harrison's injury, he got an MRI this morning, according to Liam Cohen, he's a little stiff.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're just waiting on the MRI.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: They don't know what's going to happen there.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: If Harrison does have to miss time, they're going to elevate from within.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's their plan at this point.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Things could change, obviously, but that's the current plan according to Liam Cohen.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: In regards to the Ross Maticic injury, they have a long snap or coming in right now.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: On the way over to London, I assume we'll get some news on that here in the next couple of days or days or days, so for the Jack Wars, but they're not gonna just have to have on Hamilton having to
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: do double duty and be the long snapper as well as one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL right now so yeah that's kind of their plan there now you would think you bring it along snapper should be able to do the job right i think that they probably had people on speed dial that you know they they're scouting they they they have
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: plans at every position in case of injury, things like that.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see who it is, what their experience level is, how they're able to perform.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: But when it comes to the ants on Harrison injury, if he is unable to go against the Texans, that's a major concern.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because the Texans have a great defensive front.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: and you saw last year, one of the major reasons the Jaguars lost to the Texans in Houston was because Walker little late in the game could basically not touch Denial Hunter.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Walker little will be the starter it seems like if if that if uh if Anton can't go so that's that's a little concerning right now beyond those couple of injuries there are other concerns right the penalty problem at this point it's legit i mean it's two weeks in a row where their bad calls probably but even if there was a few calls that shouldn't have been made
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: which there were.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Let's face it.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Jarring Jones, Passenger Ference stands out.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: That was clearly was not PI in my opinion, but the penalty problem is legit at this point.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: When you have 13 penalties and consecutive games, that is not a recipe for success.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a recipe for playing clean football.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: It makes you not be able to be on schedule offensively.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: Defensively, it extends drives for your opponent.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: And really, the biggest concern for penalties for me was the red zone penalties in this one.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: More so on the offensive side of the ball.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be able to finish in the red zone.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has been one of the best red zone teams in football as of late, and they were not against the eagles.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: The eagles do have a great defense.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: They do a lot of things well.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: But when you're shooting yourself in the foot, and
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Having pre-snap issues, having, you know, so many holding calls on run plays, all these different things.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think the penalty problem is legit at this point and the Jaguar has to fix it.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: They've shown the ability going back to last year, two fix it in season, during a season, but right now it's just in a place where it needs to be fixed moving forward.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because the Texans have a little bit of momentum now.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: They do even though it was against the Titans they got that first win under their belt and they now get Marvin Harrison Jr. in there And I think that they're gonna be feeling more confident heading into this game than they were just like a week ago So that's gonna be
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: big for the jaguars to be able to stop shooting themselves in the foot just with the penalties on both sides of the bulb.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's specifically on offense holding calls and the pre-snap operation.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And look, the pre-snap operation for me, it must improve away from Jacksonville.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: They have to figure it out.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think it has impacted the offensive line play to an extent as well, but the pre-snap
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: getting the play in, getting to the line of scrimmage being able to adjust, you know, make your cans adjust your play, all that identify the defense.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: It has to get better away from Jacksonville.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: In Jacksonville, I think it's been very good.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: And you've honestly seen that over the course of the Liam Cohen.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Coaching tenure here, going back to the beginning of 2025, the Jaguar's In Jacksonville, and games that they have played in their home stadium, as the actual home team, which they were not against the Eagles in this, when the Eagles had a home field advantage with all their fans being over there and being very loud, the Jaguar's are averaging 31 and a half points per game in Jacksonville, under Liam Cohen.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Away from Jacksonville, they're averaging 23 and a half points.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right, a big part of that is penalties and pre-snap operation.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: I feel very strongly about that.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there are these mistakes that are happening that happen away from jacks because of the noise, because of all that, that goes on when you're not the home team, that they've got to be able to get better.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: They've got to be able to figure that out, it just must improve.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: and speaking about the offensive line, they've just gotta get a little more consistent.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the holding penalties this week, last couple of weeks have been very frustrating, but overall, I think the offensive line is mostly doing a good enough job.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's been moments, drives, little chunks of the game where maybe a couple of drives in a row where the offensive line isn't quite good enough, but I think overall, they've been decent,
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: But if they want to win in January, that offensive line has to just get more consistent.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think they can?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think Colvin and Lannon can get more consistent than he has been so far.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think Emmanuel Pregnant can get more consistent than he has been so far.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Anton Harrison as well, obviously, you got to get healthy.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: they need to get better.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have the ability to do that and when I say better, I just mean more consistent because each one of those offensive linemen has had very high level moments and has been pretty good overall, but they just got to get a little bit more consistency and I think that they can be a very good group.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, as far as the
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Is it okay to just say, I don't know.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the right answer is.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody wants to have a strong opinion.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to have a strong opinion on it.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's just difficult to really say what the Jaguar should do in regards to Brian Thomas Jr., there's a lot of layers to it.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that they have a Parker Washington playing so well, Jacobi Myers, Britain Strange.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: You can throw a Travis Hunter in there.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron is emerging as a really good player.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Nate Borkerture is emerging as a good player as well.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: So like, the fact of the matter is, he's catching about 56% of his targets, which is very low in the modern NFL.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, he has a high average depth of target.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's, you don't expect him to be catching 70% of his targets just based on where they are on the field, but it just hasn't been clean enough.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Can it get better?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Can it improve?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, the guy's 24 years old is a young player.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen the high level flashes.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen the good, but it's not looking great right now.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: And would you be better off pivoting your offense towards, you know, he's been targeted 16 times this year.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's caught nine of them, 56% of his targets, he's caught.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: He has dropped.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: He drops two passes, officially dropped.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that both of the plays yesterday and the end zone could have been caught.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're not drops.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Was the second one technically, maybe actually a catch?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: Some people are saying, it's heel got down first, but it was really bang bang, the toe.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Front of the foot was obviously out of bounds.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fine with just saying, I don't know.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if the Jaguars should make a move.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how best to handle that situation, but it is a situation at this point because when you have somebody like BTJ receiving a large percentage of the snaps, playing a lot of football, getting targets, that are crucial targets and not being able to come up with them,
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's frustrating and it just so far has not been in the offense as best interest to target him a lot.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, he did catch touchdown against the Bengals.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: That was just a great play.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to get much more open than that.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: That was a great play design by Liam Cohen.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: In the red zone, great call, great execution, all that stuff.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of that, it just hasn't been enough for BTJ so far this year.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm fine with saying, I don't know what the right answer is.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's okay to say, I don't know what the right answer is.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, take away from, you know, Cam little, he's kicking the ball as well as anybody right now outside of the, um, outside of the 70 yard attempt that he had, which you never, I'm never going to ding a player a kicker for not making a 70 yard feel goal.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was a pretty good attempt.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: outside of that.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's doing a great job.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: He is, I mean, you look at it so far.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't ding him for the extra point either that he messed yesterday because it was just, it was a bad snap, very bad snap.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: they did their best.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Logan cooked it an incredible job getting the ball down in a lot of situations yesterday, but you know he's 9 of 11.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: You take away the 70 yard kick.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's 9 of 10.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's done a really good job for the Jack Wars this year.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's kicking the ball incredibly well and I think that he is a weapon for them, which is great.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he deserves a little bit of praise for that.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think special teams as a whole is really firing on all cylinders.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing a good job covering kicks now in puns.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing a good job returning as we saw Josh Cameron had an incredible return.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: Probably shouldn't have been called back.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: You can debate it.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever a mayor of dual a great return and he's a great returner throughout his career.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: So special teams, Cam Little, they're doing a good job.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Very good job.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: Gonna be interesting to see who they bring in as a long snap or this week.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna miss some time and my final takeaway here is
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: The London Games gotta go.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I understand if you're going over there once every other year as like a home team, but you should not be losing a home game every year, much less two home games this year and probably next year to London just because it's a competitive disadvantage for you and I understand the money part of it, the business side of it for shotgun and everything, but you're getting a new stadium in 28.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: The every year London home game should be a thing of the past once that comes along.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: It has been a competitive disadvantage for the Jaguars.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: As I mentioned, in Jacksonville, when they're actually in front of a home crowd, the Jaguars are averaging 31 and a half points per game offensively.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: They are much cleaner offensively at home, and they have a legitimate home-field advantage
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: that goes away when they go on the road and it makes games more difficult to win.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Again, if you can clean up some of the pre-snaps stuff, I think that that can go out the window a little bit and maybe you can become this team that just is able to dominate on both sides of the ball most weeks.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: whether you're at home or on the road.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: But right now, they still have the issues with the pre-snop operation on the road.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: And again, yesterday was a road game for the Jaguars based on just the way the crowd noise was with the Eagles fans being absolutely berserk credit to them when the Jaguars were on the offensive side of the ball.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're only averaging 23 and a half points per game and jackson or excuse me away from jacksonville under Liam Cohen and in London, which is an insanely small sample size, it is only two games in London so far, they're averaging 13 and a half points per game, you know, the Rams game last year.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: the Eagles game this year.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: They shoot themselves in the foot too many times.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: London is an insane disadvantage for them every year right now.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: And they have another home game in London next week.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: This upcoming week, hopefully they're able to get a win there and take down the Texans, all that stuff.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be an easy game.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know you're looking at the Texans as a 114.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar should easily win this game.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's that simple, especially again, when you're talking about a game.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: that's not a true home game in any way shape or form.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: When you are a team trying to compete for a one seed, trying to compete for a Super Bowl, giving yourself every possible advantage to get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs is critical.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: Again, especially with this group, the way they are currently playing, the way they are currently constructed,
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: playing at home is a huge advantage for the Jaguars, and I honestly just think London's gotta go once 2028 comes around again.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: If you're having a home game over there, once every couple years, maybe you go over there every year, and you have one home game, one away game, whatever, maybe I don't know, but,
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: at least one home game some years to home games and London is really unacceptable in my opinion from a competitive standpoint for the Jaguars.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: That is my final takeaway from this game.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a great one.
