- 0:04After a full offseason, the NFL
- 0:07is back. After an entire day, dare I say 2
- 0:11days, Tanya, we have had so many technical difficulties that we
- 0:15are back. And holy shit, Media Corner
- 0:19is gonna get real ugly real fast because of you, ESPN, and what you're fucking
- 0:22doing, or trying to do, to college sports.
- 0:25We are about as effective at getting this show live
- 0:29as, uh, Justin Herbert is at closing out a fucking game. Nailed it,
- 0:33nailed it, nailed it. Cold open done. We're the regulars.
- 0:37Well, we even have an intro, apparently.
- 0:48Did you miss us? We don't have intros, we don't have fade-ins.
- 0:52We don't have our graphics right now because we had to do, and I shit
- 0:57you not, yeah, a full-on factory reset. And I can't stress
- 1:01this enough, I normally don't tell you what I'm drinking, but today I'm drinking tequila.
- 1:04Antiguo Tequila. It's my favorite tequila and I need it very, very much. Why am
- 1:08I willing to say this right now? Because you can't buy this in the United
- 1:11States, so I don't give a shit if I have their name on this.
- 1:14I am currently just updating everyone on Threads that we are actually live.
- 1:18We're actually live finally. Oh, but thank you so
- 1:22much for those who have stuck with us right now. We see our live viewers.
- 1:24Yes, we got lots and lots and lots to talk about today. And of course,
- 1:27we got a show first Tuesday of the NFL season. Yes,
- 1:30officially underway here for the regulars. That's the reason we're doing Tuesdays.
- 1:34That is why we are doing Tuesdays, because of Monday Night Football. We want to
- 1:37make sure everybody has the opportunity to watch it. And here we are live giving
- 1:40you ready for Week 2, because right now we get
- 1:44a full recap of Week 1, our thoughts, our feelings, and man
- 1:49Lots of, uh, lots of takes, lots of opinions. Also,
- 1:52um, I did my first Substack live chat for my paid subscribers yesterday.
- 1:56We just— we went into a Discord, which I've never done before. I was like
- 1:59a boomer in there. I was like, I don't know how this works. There was
- 2:02a few people in there that like knew how it worked, and, uh, it went
- 2:05well. We were chatting up— my mom was in there, uh,
- 2:08my, my internet famous friend BMO the Prince was in there. So people
- 2:12were— people were loving it. I love it. Um, and yeah, so if you're interested
- 2:16in doing like a, like a hangout before Monday Night Football,
- 2:21um, or sometime on Monday. I think for right now it's before Monday Night Football.
- 2:25I'll be doing that on my Substack for paid subscribers. You'll get the,
- 2:28the Discord link. But also, you and I might end up somewhere
- 2:32in here. We're not helping our cause here to get
- 2:36to 1K subscribers. No, we really hurt ourselves for this last week because it's— and
- 2:40this is true, by the way— last Tuesday was our most live-viewed show we've ever
- 2:44done, and then we blew it. And then Friday came along and our whole system
- 2:47kind of crashed on us, and so we did a taped show Put it out
- 2:50there, got it out there to you guys. And thank you, everybody. Like, share,
- 2:52and subscribe wherever you get your favorite podcasts. But yeah, dude, it was a fucking
- 2:56shit show. And then today, same exact shit show. I'm not kidding.
- 2:59It was me and Mocha over there for the last 45 minutes hitting factory resets,
- 3:04hitting every button humanly known to man. And we don't have any of
- 3:07our normal graphics. We don't have our normal stuff. We are— we were trying to
- 3:10revamp our graphics anyway, which is actually— this might end up being a weird blessing
- 3:14in disguise. So, okay, we are going to redo our graphics and we appreciate all
- 3:17of you guys hanging with us. Throughout this entire process. And yeah, we are the
- 3:21regulars. Cody Decker, Tonya Rae Fox, and all of you. And we are currently at
- 3:25922 subscribers. We are getting close
- 3:29to our 1,000 mark, which is what we're trying to get to. And I'm hoping
- 3:32by the end of the show we're going to do ourselves some favors. Yeah,
- 3:35well, we will. We'll see. There's no reason to
- 3:38really delay it. Our headline number 1 without the graphic, but with
- 3:43the real intent behind it. Yes. Is that the NFL has officially
- 3:47wrapped up week 1. Yes, and it was
- 3:50full of, uh, duds but also surprises. Lots.
- 3:54I think this is a weird thing. You can tell me if this
- 3:57is just me, people in the chat, you can say if it's just me,
- 3:59but like, I feel like the last couple of years specifically, I would say the
- 4:03last 2 seasons specifically, that there's been this weird thing
- 4:07happening where the primetime games, which are objectively good matchups,
- 4:10are kind of a bummer, and then the 10 AM slate out here,
- 4:14the 1 PM slate is fucking full of bangers. Yeah.
- 4:18And I feel like that's like a thing that keeps happening because it's not like
- 4:21they scheduled bad games for any— for any of the 4 primetime
- 4:25games this year. This week, they were all objectively like should have been good games
- 4:29and they were fine. Like, I mean, there were some— I think the
- 4:33Giants-Cowboys turned into something that was like a little bit more interesting,
- 4:36but like otherwise they just weren't that interesting. Not at all.
- 4:40And God, dude, damn, 10 AM. I was like, dude,
- 4:43I felt like I was in The Matrix. I had the Quad Box going with
- 4:47the Red Zone on another TV. I had the thing and I was like,
- 4:49I don't know what— I don't know how to pay attention to all these games.
- 4:52I need like an assistant. I need, I need someone in an IFB telling
- 4:56me what's fucking happening. So I'll tell you this, the one marquee matchup that I
- 5:00think both of us can agree with because it's actually first on the list,
- 5:02the one marquee matchup that lived up to every semblance of the fucking
- 5:05billing Dude, Bills and fucking Texans.
- 5:09Well, Bills and Texans is technically second on the list, but, but that
- 5:13was a fucking banger game. We had 2 playoff teams playing each other,
- 5:17AFC. It was a banger game. It was not— it
- 5:21was not the defense that we expected from the Texans.
- 5:24And that was really interesting to me because I
- 5:28think it's— I'm really hoping that it's like them getting some kinks
- 5:32worked out. By the way, defense across the league fucking blew this year. It was
- 5:36insane. It was not good. I'm also angry. Is that Tiny pointing out no
- 5:40team in the NFC South won a game? Yeah, he's really mad about this because
- 5:43I think he's a Bucs fan. I'm pretty sure. Are you a Bucs fan?
- 5:46That sucks. And to be fair, my first place, they didn't.
- 5:50To be fair, they didn't. And we will get to the Saints game, by the
- 5:54way. Yeah, but what'd you say? I just wanted to point out my first place
- 5:58Raiders. Just— oh, first place Raiders. That's right. I'm not going to get a chance
- 6:01to say it a whole lot this year, but right now, no, I'm in fucking
- 6:03first place. Absolutely. Kirk Cousins, baby. Thank you, my guy.
- 6:06But the Texans defense has got to get their shit together.
- 6:10I will— you tell me, Cody. Yeah, people are— listen,
- 6:14this is not going to shock you, but people are so high on Josh Allen's
- 6:17performance. Boy, I thought Josh Allen was great. I thought he looked great.
- 6:21He looked very much like the Josh Allen we're used to, which is absolutely dominant
- 6:24and then making some really fucking wild choices.
- 6:28I'm glad you said that because here's the thing. My takeaway from that game was
- 6:31the best player on the Bills outside of Josh Allen And I forgot his name
- 6:35already, so I sincerely apologize— was the, uh, was the
- 6:39DB or whoever it was that dropped that very, very, very easy
- 6:42interception that would have iced out the game completely.
- 6:45Because that was one of the dumb— if it weren't for one,
- 6:49that being dropped, yeah, and if it weren't for Drake Maye, I would have said
- 6:53that was the dumbest fucking pass I had ever seen until I saw the Chargers
- 6:58game. And let's not give— let Dak Prescott off the hook either for that stupid-ass
- 7:02interception. Dak Prescott off the hook because at the very least Dak
- 7:05is consistent. He's always, he's always above average. And he,
- 7:09he didn't win his MVP the year that he was up against Lamar and he
- 7:13deserves a little slack. But I was like, I'm very surprised
- 7:18by the idea that like everybody was— why am I—
- 7:21I'm lying. Of course I'm not fucking surprised that people are overhyping
- 7:25Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, both good and bad. He,
- 7:29he was the best of Josh Allen and then we almost saw like— and he
- 7:32was the worst of Josh Allen and it almost cost them the game. Game.
- 7:34Uh, people have preferred not to talk about that. To be quite honest, Cody,
- 7:39I actually don't feel the need to talk about it except for the fact that
- 7:43there's also this weird thing happening around the objectively best
- 7:48perform— the, like, the, the objective best, most exciting performance
- 7:52at quarterback at— of, of all of the offenses
- 7:56all week was Caleb Williams and the Bears. It was unbelievable. It was fucking
- 8:00unbelievable. It was Remember that game a few years back between
- 8:04the Chiefs and the Rams that like reset offense?
- 8:07Offensive? It was just like, it was like 50 to like 45
- 8:12or whatever. It was just like one of those games where Mahomes
- 8:15was cooking, Stafford was cooking. Yeah, he's like, we've never seen offense like that
- 8:18security guard meme where he's not touching the person at all. Yeah.
- 8:22You know, and for me, the— it was like
- 8:26Everything was working the way that a, that a
- 8:30Ben Johnson, you know, offense should be working.
- 8:33Defense was— didn't show up to the game. We got to see the, the very
- 8:37best of what Bryce Young has to offer in that game on top of everything
- 8:40else. Great game. They're, they're just— their defense was kind of trash and didn't hold
- 8:44up. But like, we, we're,
- 8:47we're in a— have you seen the PFF grades by
- 8:51any chance? A little bit, yeah. Okay, so Caleb
- 8:55Williams, 124.1 passer rating,
- 8:582 passing touchdowns. By the way, we do have those 3 graphics that you sent
- 9:02me. Yeah, we do have them. So when you— do we have to throw to
- 9:04them? Do we have a Caleb Williams one though? We have one that was a
- 9:07passer rating one that you sent. Okay, so we're going to wait on that for
- 9:10a sec. Okay. Like it's coming. Okay. I'm very excited to use our very few
- 9:13graphics. Graphics we have, right? So he— so you
- 9:17saw the game. We don't. And then on top of it, DeAndre Swift, incredible game.
- 9:21Yeah. I think DeAndre Swift has really like come into
- 9:24his own as a player since he has been with a mobile quarterback. So once
- 9:28he went to Philly and he was with Philly for a year, and then since
- 9:30he's been with Caleb on the Bears,
- 9:34this is something that we see. It's something that we saw with Saquon. It's something
- 9:37that we've seen with Derrick Henry. I mean, not that Derrick Henry
- 9:40was not already incredible, but he swung back and
- 9:45the PFF grade For Caleb Williams, Cody, I can't believe you don't know this.
- 9:49He was given the 20th best grade
- 9:54or worst. He was ranked 20th in PFF grades
- 9:58among quarterbacks this week. Okay.
- 10:01This is the level of propaganda we've reached. And now people
- 10:05don't— I don't think people understand. Do you know this, Cody, that PFF grades are
- 10:10actually— they're not just like, oh, a random bunch of people who decide
- 10:14to rank stuff. They are used frequently, not only by
- 10:18front offices. Some don't like them at all. Some love them.
- 10:22But they're also used in contract negotiations. So when I talk about
- 10:25something being really out of whack, it actually matters.
- 10:28Yeah. Do you think that Caleb Williams had some, some objectionable
- 10:33flaws in the game that would have seen him drop to the 20th best performance
- 10:37among quarterbacks this week? Now, let me tell you, let me explain to you
- 10:41why my answer is no. Okay,
- 10:44I played fantasy football this time. Oh, you had him?
- 10:48No, no, I didn't have him. I played against the guy who did. Oh no,
- 10:52he put up fucking 50 points. Yeah, he put up
- 10:56almost as many as they put up in the game. Put up fucking 50
- 11:00points in fantasy. Fuck it, 50.
- 11:03Those of you that play fantasy football, you're happy if fucking
- 11:075 of your guys can put together 50 points.
- 11:11Caleb Williams covered the Madden game this year, by the way.
- 11:1550 fucking points. As of right now,
- 11:20he's the— like, right now, right now, he should
- 11:23be the best quarterback in the NFL. Like, one. Now, I don't think he's the
- 11:27best quarterback in the NFL. I actually give that to our boy Lamar Jackson.
- 11:31Yeah, but based on just that game, if we're
- 11:34only going one game, he's in the fucking top 5. He's— I mean,
- 11:37if we're going on the top 5 performances of this week, No question. And,
- 11:41and going off of goodwill from the playoffs, right? Like,
- 11:44he had a very, very good playoffs last year. He should absolutely
- 11:48be, uh, being looked at as like, holy shit, is this
- 11:52guy the next guy? Um, so I thought that that was weird. The conver—
- 11:55there was a lot of conversation too around Lamar and Caleb having excellent,
- 11:59uh, rushing performances by their running backs, which is like, yeah, dude. Um,
- 12:03I, I said this in a video I made. When you have a really great
- 12:07mobile quarterback, it really helps your fucking running back.
- 12:10That's why those packages exist. That's why RPOs and
- 12:14read options and all those things get— they open up
- 12:17when you have 2 fucking run threats, guys. Oh, also, by the
- 12:21way, Lamar's one of the most accurate passers in the league. Oh,
- 12:24by the way, has been for a couple of years. God forbid you look up
- 12:28those stats. He has the 2nd highest passer rating in the history of the NFL.
- 12:30Yeah, he's fucking good. Aaron Rodgers is fucking good. So that will help out your
- 12:34run. Running back, just so we're clear. No question about it. But I also—
- 12:39can we just get to Lamar? We gotta get to Lamar where he's at.
- 12:41Like, because I want to get to Lamar. Yeah. One, and it's in the
- 12:45rundown, I'm sorry, I'm going to use this exact phrase. Yeah, the fucking Ravens are
- 12:49terrifying. Yeah, terrifying, terrifying. If this team stays healthy, they're terrifying.
- 12:52I think they're the best team in the AFC if they're healthy. I think they're
- 12:56that terrifying. Zay Flowers getting, getting hurt, and like, that was like— it
- 13:00took a little bit of steam out of the offense, and even still it wasn't,
- 13:02you know, It was never really Derrick Henry. I would
- 13:06really, really love for the Ravens to have a tight
- 13:11end that moves. I feel like there's a puppet
- 13:15master that just takes Mark Andrews and moves him around the field like a
- 13:18chess piece, just puts him there so he can catch it and then he fucking
- 13:21stands there. I've never seen— he gets like somehow negative yards after the catch.
- 13:25I don't— I've never seen anything like it. But otherwise the team is really
- 13:28stacked and their defense looks amazing. Jesse Minter, Did you watch
- 13:32Jesse Minter during that game? Yes. That dude seemed like he was the happiest.
- 13:36He was so fucking into everything. The dudes really love playing for him. Everything coming
- 13:40out of the offseason around the culture he's created has been super
- 13:44positive. Um, I just can't imagine what they would look
- 13:48like if they had Isaiah Likely instead of fucking Mark Andrews.
- 13:51But I— but man, they are terrifying. I was really excited to watch them
- 13:55play. Uh, Lamar is just Just fucking unreal. Uh, the,
- 13:59the 2 rushers coming in and
- 14:03him dipping underneath them. So there's this— I'm sure
- 14:07people in the chat— calmness of it too. It was like he— they collided
- 14:11like a fucking cartoon, right? But the best part, and I saw this really amazing
- 14:15video, hopefully I saved it and I can send it to you, but, um,
- 14:18there's this amazing side shot of that in like full 4K.
- 14:22And you can hear the crowd in the background.
- 14:25And he, just as he's ducking through them to escape
- 14:29the sack, the crowd in Indy is cheering loud.
- 14:34It almost sounds like they're Ravens fans because they're all convinced he's
- 14:37sacked. Like from their POV, they think he just got sacked. And then he
- 14:41just comes out of the fucking cloud of dust and they're all like, what the—
- 14:45the whole moment is just like, oh my God,
- 14:49it was so good. He's so Fucking good. And he was
- 14:53running again. He was— they were designing runs for him and they were letting him
- 14:57loose again. Like, goddamn. And then Derrick Henry at 30, what,
- 15:0032 years old? 32 years old. Like a fucking steam
- 15:04fucking engine. Now that, my guy, callback to last show,
- 15:08that is a first ballot Hall of Famer. I would agree. That guy is just,
- 15:12just not normal. But man, this was— it was a fun weekend. All right,
- 15:15so let's— now that we've gotten done with our fun parts of the show,
- 15:18Let's get to, um, holy shit Rams, we got a problem. Yeah, what the
- 15:22f— I, I'm on like, just full transparency, those of you that are
- 15:26new to the show, new subscribers, welcome to the show. Hi, I'm Cody. Obviously Tanya
- 15:29is probably the one that brought you here. Here's the deal, I am on LA
- 15:32radio, I'm doing a lot of talking about the Rams, but I'm not talking
- 15:35about the Rams only because I'm on LA radio. The Rams are a very unique
- 15:39story, very unique offseason story. They had such a fucking insane offseason,
- 15:42defending MVP, shortest odds to win the Super Bowl before they
- 15:46even got their hands on the Defensive Player of the Year, and the rumors
- 15:49around Aaron Donald now Aaron Donald coming back, is back officially.
- 15:53Like, everything around this team— forget, of course, don't forget,
- 15:57but in this context of the story,
- 15:59forget for a second the Puka Nacua bullshit insane offseason he
- 16:03had. If you can just ignore that, I would say the Rams had almost like
- 16:07this immaculate perfect offseason where the vibes were just through the roof,
- 16:10and literally it's sunshine, rainbows, and kittens.
- 16:14They're a shoo-in to host the fucking Super Bowl again.
- 16:19Tanya, what the fuck just happened? I mean,
- 16:23the Myles Garrett knee thing is super
- 16:26interesting to me because he had some knee stuff happening,
- 16:31and then all that, um, training footage came out of him like training with
- 16:35a new guy, teaching him new like tackling techniques. Oh, you mean the rugby guy?
- 16:38Yeah, the rugby guy that's like droided out. You want to get over here so
- 16:41you can tackle them this way? Yeah. And then you want to fuck
- 16:45him up. But it's, it's, it changes the complexion of everything specifically
- 16:50because we saw really good pass rushing from like across the— like,
- 16:54I, I, you know, we had great performances from,
- 16:57you know, TJ Watt and Aiden Hutchinson. And just
- 17:01there's a, there's a— Crosby had a fucking— did Max have
- 17:05a good day? He just looked good. He looked ferocious again. Yeah, it was like,
- 17:08oh, this is some vintage. Yeah, I'm not gonna spoil it for you, but I
- 17:11did not watch a lot of the Raiders You, you know what, but I— they
- 17:15would have surprised you. I have seen— of course I always make sure I go
- 17:18back and see like some films, some highlights. Like, I didn't actually get to like
- 17:22really sit and watch. Dude, I'm not kidding. I'm, I'm making the campaign, the race
- 17:26for 6. I just want 6 wins. Yeah, as a Raider fan, that's all I
- 17:28want. You've already got one. I, I think this team— you're 6th of the way
- 17:31there. This team could get 7. I really thought it was that impressive.
- 17:36All right, well, you know what, I would love to see them do it 2
- 17:38weeks in a row. Do you know who they play next week? Chargers, baby.
- 17:41Okay, fuck yeah, bro. Here, let's do it at a home game in LA.
- 17:43I love it. Hell yeah. Fuck you, Chargers. We do have to talk about
- 17:47what happened in that fucking Vikings game, dude.
- 17:50I— so number one, I can't believe it. How do you feel about the
- 17:54hit on Kyler? Because I know,
- 17:57I know where I feel. Slow down. I think it looks
- 18:01worse than it really was. I think it was a car accident that just—
- 18:05the second hit that actually kind of got him did worry me,
- 18:08but Are you insinuating foul play of
- 18:13a miss? I don't think it's foul. I don't think so. I never think that
- 18:17the— like, I very rarely think a player is setting out to make a dirty
- 18:21play. I do think it was an illegal hit. It was. I do think that
- 18:25Kyler— so a lot of people are like, you know, he went down too late,
- 18:29blah, blah, blah, whatever. When someone is, is going
- 18:33down at you to the ground to tackle you, in the head,
- 18:38they know you're already down. Yeah. That's why I think it was a— it was
- 18:41a— an illegal hit. I thought it was an illegal hit. So I also
- 18:45know that Kyler has been like, if he's—
- 18:49he— his specific— because of his size and
- 18:53because of the way that these guys are taught to not slide in specific situations,
- 18:57because then you invite the headshot the other way. Yeah. It's really hard for
- 19:01everybody involved. But that sucked. It like really sucked to
- 19:05watch. It took the wind right out of my sails because, yeah, you and I
- 19:08super excited to watch him play. He had like 3 minutes with him. Now,
- 19:12he didn't— like, he clearly needed some time to get into the groove, and like,
- 19:15we didn't even get to see it. Uh, Carson Wentz is just apparently
- 19:19going to— you know, if you can toss balls
- 19:22up to Justin Jefferson, apparently that's all you need to win a game. Yeah.
- 19:26And that's what they fucking did. Great job, Wentz. Yeah. Um,
- 19:30I can't— like, I can't think of anyone I'm less excited about,
- 19:33but I, I had— I, I got my ass kicked in
- 19:38fantasy because I started Kyler Murray as my quarterback. I want you to know something.
- 19:41I want you to know something really quick. I can answer that question. I do
- 19:44know who you could be less excited about. J.J.
- 19:47McCarthy. Well, that's the thing is now I have to pick up Carson Wentz
- 19:52as my quarterback and I'm like, I'm going to end up with J.J. McCarthy by
- 19:55the end of the year. You fucking might. Fuck it. Like, that's my penance
- 19:59for all my shit talk. Um, it's just, you know, it's— I
- 20:03feel, I feel like there's some sort of, uh, the bigger, the bigger reel,
- 20:07the bigger conversation about that game is the fact that Green Bay was
- 20:11out of— they're awful. So Jordan Love had
- 20:16a like statistically really like interesting game. He threw for a lot of yards.
- 20:19He like— there was a lot going on there. Matt LaFleur
- 20:23went full Mike McCarthy, left points on the board.
- 20:27Is there something wrong with those? They start
- 20:31out, you think, oh my God, this head coach gets it. He's an offensive guy.
- 20:34He's got— and then they just turn into the game managers
- 20:39of the fucking century. I don't understand. You guys are
- 20:42always gifted with great quarterbacks, have a fucking loyal-ass fan base,
- 20:47a premier brand, and you're doing shit like
- 20:51that, bro? Because you're not going to convince me Jordan Love's not a good enough
- 20:53quarterback. Like, you're just like, he's a really, really good player. That everything
- 20:57looked out of sorts, out of sync. I don't know what Matt LaFleur's
- 21:01deal is, but I started to feel a little iffy about him last year.
- 21:04And now I'm like, what the fuck, dude? That was an inexplicable decision
- 21:08to leave points on the board the way that he did. So I mean this
- 21:11from the bottom of my heart. I never thought I'd walk away from a Sunday
- 21:14going, looking at a team going like, oh, Green Bay fans, you have
- 21:18the wrong LaFleur. Who knew? Yeah, who knew you got just the wrong member
- 21:21of the LaFleur family? Because big LaFleur guy over here, because holy
- 21:25shit. The Chargers are a joke. As much as
- 21:28you've seen the Green Bay being a joke, the Chargers are a joke. I firmly
- 21:32believe they're a joke. I really, really don't
- 21:35understand why people underestimated the Cardinals so much.
- 21:39I do too. I, I know. And I'm not like— I— it's more
- 21:42just it feels like people forget about the Cardinals
- 21:47and then they're like, oh well, they're, you know, over-under. But I did draft Jeremiah
- 21:49Love because I had a good feeling about him, right? But like, they have Like
- 21:53Trey McBride is the best tight end in the league right now because Brock Bowers
- 21:55is hurt. Like they've got good young wide receivers.
- 21:59Kendrick Bourne was a great, like a great pickup for them. I think part of
- 22:03it was Jacoby Brissett of it all. But Jacoby Brissett is never bad. He's always
- 22:06good. He's always solid. He's always good. Absolutely. And occasionally
- 22:09he has games like that where he's like, oh, all right, he's really fucking good
- 22:13today. Remember his time with the Colts? I feel like the Colts gave up on
- 22:15that way too fucking fast. Really fast. And I And I understand
- 22:19why he's been considered a journeyman fill-in starter. Like,
- 22:23I do understand that. But like, yeah, I just— and then
- 22:27with the new coach coming in and
- 22:30an offensive coach at that, like, it just felt weird that everybody was like,
- 22:34well, worst team. When you look at their team and the, and the,
- 22:38the players on their roster, I was like, I don't know. I don't think they're
- 22:41a playoff team, but like, damn. No, they're all right. On the flip side,
- 22:45Yeah, the Chargers, they looked like shit, looked like the worst versions
- 22:49of them, the worst version of themselves. To roll
- 22:52out that level of an offensive performance with a head coach that is
- 22:55constantly lauded, a quarterback that is constantly lauded, and an OC that is
- 22:59constantly lauded, and to have it look like that was
- 23:02just like— I just think these are— I
- 23:06think this is a 3-man circle jerk of idiots who didn't fucking
- 23:09take this season seriously, dude. I, I don't
- 23:13know how many times I need to say it out loud. I've been
- 23:16saying it for years and I'm really happy. I'm sorry it's taken everybody
- 23:20this long, but I'm really, really happy that people are starting to fucking
- 23:24see what I've been saying all along. Yeah, like, this is not like a question
- 23:28of the talent and the arm talent of Justin Herbert. Yes, we see
- 23:32the flashes of arm talent, but like, the pedestal
- 23:35this guy has been put on. Yeah. The amount of money this guy has been
- 23:39given, the amount of leeway that he has been allotted
- 23:43simply does not exist for anyone else
- 23:46in the league. And I'm including the rest of the white guys. Like,
- 23:50it is so fucking insane. Did you, did you see when I
- 23:54made a video about it the other day? I was like, is it like at
- 23:57this point, isn't like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow, aren't they offended
- 24:01by being included? They should be. Like, like Joe Burrow has been to a fucking
- 24:04Super Bowl. It's bad enough, the racism, right? The racism around
- 24:08the conversation. The way people talk about Lamar and Jalen Hurts
- 24:12and Caleb Williams and all of those players.
- 24:15But then like Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen and Joe Burrow out there
- 24:19doing their jobs and they're all like, I don't know, I'm still
- 24:24not willing to put Trevor Lawrence in this conversation. But you don't
- 24:27think Trevor Lawrence is better than Justin Herbert? Oh, I apologize because
- 24:31he's not. I do think that because he never is. He's never ranked above
- 24:34him. He never is. That is true. But no, I'm more thinking of like the
- 24:37thing going like, I think Josh Allen and Joe Burrow, whenever they hear their names
- 24:40lifted, really, they're like, motherfucker. No, no, no, no, no. Like, like Josh
- 24:44Allen MVP. Joe Burrow's like, I played in the fucking Super Bowl. Get the fucking
- 24:48pretty boy out of here. Like, enough. I just can't. I feel like
- 24:52everybody else should be mad at this point too. Like, I'm annoyed. Are you?
- 24:56Like, that's what it is. I think that's what it is. I think you just
- 24:58said it. I'm tired of my intelligence constantly being
- 25:02insulted. Yeah, it's like I'm, I'm insulted now that
- 25:06you have forced upon Justin Herbert
- 25:10on me. While we're at it, actually, I think now would be a good time
- 25:13for Mocha to pull up our graphic of the— yes,
- 25:17we have the week 1 passer ratings,
- 25:20the top 5 and bottom 5 passer ratings.
- 25:24So our guy Trevor Lawrence had a great day against the Browns. So we're taking
- 25:28that with a grain of salt, obviously, but still a great day. Do you do
- 25:30your job? You always do your job against the teams you're supposed to. Jackson Dart
- 25:34fucking balled out, dude. I'll admit it, I am not a Jackson Dart fan,
- 25:38but fuck, he looked good. It looks like his weapons are on one. Yeah,
- 25:41so I'm, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm also gonna wait until to see until
- 25:44if he can like not take the stupidest hits a lot. Also the Rams in
- 25:49week 2, if the Rams can get their fucking shit together. Josh Allen,
- 25:51Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams, no shocks, right?
- 25:55Worst passer ratings: Bo Nix, who we'll get to at the end of
- 25:59this segment. Malik Willis on the Dolphins, Matthew Stafford,
- 26:01Drake Maye, and Cooper Rush, who shouldn't even
- 26:05have been there, was like, should not have even been a fucking— I mean,
- 26:08unbelievable. So, right, you know, just escaping
- 26:12that bottom is Justin Herbert. And then there's all the dudes that he's
- 26:16constantly in conversation with, like at the top,
- 26:19performing the way that they're supposed to perform against crappy teams. Cardinals,
- 26:23not a— not like an absolutely stacked team that you should— you should absolutely be
- 26:27beating that team. If you have the great head coach and
- 26:30the great quarterback that you claim to have and you just didn't.
- 26:34Like, that's why I appreciate what Trevor Lawrence did, because they like poured it on
- 26:38a team. By the way, he who shall not be named,
- 26:41who quarterbacks the fucking Browns. Who's that
- 26:45exactly? Just like an absolutely fucking hilariously,
- 26:50truly brutal fucking performance. Exactly what he deserved.
- 26:53Everything that he deserved. Actually, can I, can I, can I— public
- 26:56service announcement for Cleveland fans? Sure. Dear Cleveland Brown
- 27:00fans, NFL jerseys
- 27:04are very expensive, and you Browns fans have had to buy lots of them for
- 27:08your new quarterbacks year after year after year. But Tanya,
- 27:11right now I'm making this suggestion: go and buy a Shedeur
- 27:15Sanders jersey. Why? Not because he's going to be your quarterback
- 27:18the future? No, not because he's going to be playing quarterback at
- 27:22some point this season. I firmly believe he will. Um, it's because it's
- 27:26currently— and this is true— $39 retail
- 27:30at your team store in Cleveland. I think they ordered too
- 27:34many, and since he wasn't named opening day quarterback, they have
- 27:38a plethora of them. And the way I see it, you can get some tape
- 27:41and change the number because Sanders is a common name.
- 27:44So feel free to do that. You could put some black tape over the name
- 27:47Sanders when he's eventually keep, you know, having some success in Miami or wherever the
- 27:50hell he goes next. And then you put another quarterback there. But I strongly suggest,
- 27:54because of the uptick in price in jerseys,
- 27:56get your hands on a $39 Shedeur Sanders jersey,
- 28:00retail price. You're welcome. I kind of want one. I kind of want one too.
- 28:04I just don't want to represent the goddamn Browns at all. That's like the bummer.
- 28:07But I know I want— but it's $39 and Daddy
- 28:10can't say no to a good deal, dude. I would get so much attention at
- 28:15a bar if I walked in with a Shedeur Sanders jersey on. You're right.
- 28:18If there's one thing I've noticed, because I've been in a bar with Tanya,
- 28:21bitch just don't get enough attention. Just trying to—
- 28:24just need to find a way to get the eye. Finally, I gotta get some
- 28:28eyeballs on me. I've been to bars with you. You're an asshole.
- 28:32Okay, final— oh wait, no, we have one more. One more before we
- 28:35get to the Monday Night Football game. Um, the, the Detroit
- 28:39Lions survived an insane overtime game against the Saints. They By the
- 28:44way, can I ask you a question before you get into this? Yeah, I just—
- 28:48it's a one-word answer. Was this a victory or like
- 28:52a narrow escape of a collapse? It's definitely the latter.
- 28:56And also the funniest part is, so Chris had told me he was doing a
- 29:00Survivor pool this year, you know, whatever. He was like, oh, you have to help
- 29:03me with this week to week, right? So he was like, you know, you have
- 29:07to help me with this week to week. And I was like, all right,
- 29:09cool. But he didn't— never, never asked me anything. And I was like, did you
- 29:11ever do the pool? And he was like, yeah, I made a last-minute decision.
- 29:12Decision on Saturday night to pick the Lions. And I was like,
- 29:16bro, way to absolutely skate by by the skin of your teeth.
- 29:20And I get why he did, but bigger, bigger conversation
- 29:24to be had. The Saints really actually impressed me. I know. Um,
- 29:28like defensively, they were get— they were getting shut down by the Lions defense early,
- 29:32and then Tyler Shook just fucking— I, I think
- 29:35I might be a Tyler Shook fan. Like, I— he endured so
- 29:39much in college. He had all these injuries. He came into the league old.
- 29:42And he's just fucking balling. He threw for like 500
- 29:46yards this week. I don't know, so 400-something yards. He was really working
- 29:50his ass off. Chris Olave is an absolute fucking monster. Um,
- 29:54that play that was called back,
- 29:57did it not, as a Raiders fan, remind you of
- 30:01the tuck rule? We don't— why, why are you bringing that up? I mean,
- 30:04I understand you're a Patriots fan. You know there's only a
- 30:08couple of things you say that. Yeah, harm me. I know, but it was harm
- 30:11me and that's it. Chat, did it not evoke the tuck? Okay,
- 30:15yes it did, but fuck, man, like, and at
- 30:19the very least, the tuck rule was a stupid rule that they applied correctly.
- 30:24I still— I was doing research yesterday. I, I was
- 30:28gonna make a video about it and I was like, I cannot make heads or
- 30:31tails of what they fucking did here. And I don't want to make a video
- 30:34that where I come on and I say I can't make heads or tails of
- 30:37this. Yeah, like, I don't know what the fuck they were calling,
- 30:42dude. I don't even know what they— like, I couldn't— I replayed the clip and
- 30:46I was like, what? They said he was making a forward pass and so it
- 30:48was an incomplete pass. But I'm like, because his arm was in the motion
- 30:52for it. But none of it— I've not seen it called like that. I— it
- 30:55was just brutal. And the Saints should have won that game. They should have won
- 30:59that game. But hey, I'm just happy that they didn't because I want to be
- 31:03a supporter of the Lions. Even though I'm going to say something here that I
- 31:05haven't said elsewhere yet. I legitimately think they missed their
- 31:09window. Yeah, I can't believe I'm saying that. But like the Lions
- 31:12had like a real legit like 3-year window there.
- 31:16You know what, though? That's the best thing that could happen for the Lions is
- 31:19for everybody to decide that they're past their prime and out of there. Maybe because
- 31:23like maybe that's— they are the kind of team that would randomly
- 31:27make the Super Bowl. You're not wrong. So you know what? Let's doubt them because
- 31:30that would be funny. But I got to say, though, when I'm looking at that
- 31:32league, I'm I would really love to look at the Bears. I would love to
- 31:36see Jared Goff make a Super Bowl with the Lions so that like the,
- 31:38the Stafford-Goff trade turns out to be
- 31:42like the greatest trade in the history of the NFL ever.
- 31:45Everyone won. Everybody wins. That would be really, really cool.
- 31:48Um, but oh, before we get to Monday Night Football, I do have to say
- 31:51Baker Mayfield is out of his fucking mind. I don't know what his fucking problem
- 31:54is. I, I, I don't know if our guy from Tampa Bay is still in
- 31:57the chat, but like Baker Mayfield signs a new contract that
- 32:01he's been begging for all offseason. Holy shit, it's been an absolute fucking nightmare.
- 32:05By the way, great job, you got it. I do love Baker Mayfield
- 32:08at— in a— in the most sort of sarcastic way
- 32:12possible. Like, I like that he's a little shithead. Like,
- 32:15he's like just like such a little fuck. Yeah, he is, but he's funny.
- 32:19And like, the way he plays is, is so bizarre. He's very
- 32:23reckless. Everybody talks about how people are like reckless
- 32:27with the ball or whatever else. No one is more reckless running the football
- 32:31than fucking Baker Mayfield. He holds the ball like an idiot.
- 32:35He had no touchdown passes, 2 lost fumbles, 1 fumble return
- 32:39for a touchdown. They turned the ball over 4 times in the game and
- 32:43honestly, they almost still beat the Bengals. So rough
- 32:48luck for the Bengals, quite honestly. I would agree with that. The Bucs were trying
- 32:50really hard to give that game away and the Bengals almost let the Bucs
- 32:53win. Um, obviously like one game's not gonna make
- 32:57the contract back. Baker's gonna have some random game where he has like a 2-minute
- 33:00drill that looks insane, that makes him look like Tom Brady, and then he's like—
- 33:03it's just the Baker Mayfield experience. Personally, if he was my quarterback,
- 33:06it would drive me nuts. But as a fan just watching it, I think
- 33:10he's so fucking funny. I want you to know our Tampa fan just said,
- 33:13and I quote,
- 33:14fuck.
- 33:18Okay, I think he's so fucking funny, man.
- 33:20I'm a big fan. I actually really do like Baker. The nth degree of
- 33:25pissability. Oh no, he's— what was that? There was an SNL
- 33:28sketch a few years back that was just— it was nothing yet hilarious.
- 33:32Yeah. And it was where Bill Hader came in this gigantic box, and it was
- 33:36like his name was Glenn, and he came into the box and he's a toy
- 33:39named Glenn. And all he does, he's just a guy that just sits there,
- 33:41goes like this. Yeah. He's like— and the woman gets it.
- 33:44She's like, oh my God, that is so Glenn. The husband's like, Yeah, but what
- 33:48does the Glenn do? Yeah, he just does this. He's just like, oh, this one
- 33:51is, uh, this button says Party Glenn. He just— his dancing kind of gets
- 33:54a little bit more, and it's just— it's the most ridiculous thing in the world.
- 33:58That's how I see Baker at this point. He's Glenn. He's just Glenn. He's just—
- 34:02he's Party Glenn. He's Party Baker. I mean, honestly, just this endless
- 34:07version of just living life. I don't know
- 34:10what he's actually doing or accomplishing though. Oh, Mayfield has been consistently terrifying
- 34:14to watch since he was at OU because you never know what the hell is
- 34:16gonna happen. That's 100%. That is so true because there are days he's fucking the
- 34:20greatest quarterback. Looks like the greatest quarterback you've ever seen. Then there's days like the
- 34:24other day, and then there's days in between where he looks awful until he looks
- 34:28great. And then there's days where he looks great until he looks awful. And it's
- 34:31just a real roller coaster. Now, personally, see, Chance knows what I'm talking about.
- 34:35Chance knows. Of course Chance knows. I don't know if Glenn's
- 34:39the right word, but you know what I'm talking about. It's so Glenn. This is
- 34:41fucking amazing. But like, the funny part is
- 34:45that even with having said all that, he would still be so
- 34:49much better for the Browns than anyone they've rolled out since, which is really just
- 34:54fucking hilarious. No question about it. He really would be the greatest Browns quarterback of
- 34:57all time. And I don't think there would be a close second at this point.
- 34:59But do you want to talk about people
- 35:04doubting the Chiefs? As somebody who's a fan of someone in the—
- 35:08you know what, I actually really do. And here was the thing. I watched
- 35:11that game last night. With— and I'm talking about Monday Night Football, Chiefs versus Broncos.
- 35:15And by the way, just full transparency, Broncos definitely my defense and
- 35:19my fantasy team. Thanks for that. Yeah, me too. Fuck, why did we do that?
- 35:23Fuck, were we thinking? Anyways, um, I watched
- 35:27this game with some morbid curiosity, um, because there was like a part of me
- 35:30that like felt like a horror movie. Yeah, like, you know,
- 35:34in a horror movie when like it's a sequel. I— we're Sidney Prescott
- 35:37in Scream 19. Yeah, we've already been through the
- 35:41shit 18 other times. Yeah. So at this point we're like, we're so bitter
- 35:45and annoyed and there's no way Ghostface is gonna fucking
- 35:49show up for the 19th time. Anyways, I watched
- 35:53Monday Night Football and Ghostface showed up for the 19th fucking time.
- 35:56Fuck, they're not gone, they're back. And I'm gonna
- 36:00give you an example that I think will hit very close to home. Okay.
- 36:03It's, it's the year after Matt Cassel Patriots.
- 36:06Yeah, that's what, that's what's happening Right now?
- 36:10Well, I think that like, because I lived through the Patriots
- 36:14constantly getting, getting that thing where it's like, are they done? Is it over?
- 36:18Is it over? Is it over? For like, I mean, it was,
- 36:22it was that like whole decade where people were like, they kept making Super Bowls
- 36:25and then, but then people were like, I don't know. And then it was every
- 36:28year was like, they can't do this again. Right. The Super Bowl. They can't do
- 36:31this again. Back in the Super Bowl. They can't do it again. Back in the
- 36:34Super Bowl. And so I have never— and
- 36:38I like, you will not find A— the amount I talk
- 36:42on the internet is truly insane. You would think that there would be a way
- 36:44to fucking catch me on this. You will not. I have not doubted the fucking
- 36:47Chiefs for years. I know, for years.
- 36:51And I didn't— this— and if anything, you and I were both sounding the alarm
- 36:54of like, doubt Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at your own risk. You still
- 36:59have Andy Reid, you still have Steve Spagnuolo, you see, still have Patrick
- 37:03Mahomes. Now granted, I wasn't necessarily touting Travis Kelce,
- 37:06And we'll see how he holds up across the course of— but in game 1,
- 37:10absolutely, he looked like vintage fucking Travis Kelce. And then
- 37:14they did the same thing that the Patriots used to always do, which is like
- 37:17you just get the new offseason piece that's now the big piece. So they
- 37:21get Kenneth Walker. Uh, holy— will you please throw this up
- 37:25for me, Mocha? This Kenneth Walker III. For the gods, Kenneth Walker? You mean
- 37:29the player that was covered in fucking Vaseline because no one could tackle He,
- 37:33he did Bo Jackson. It was fucking nuts. Look at this.
- 37:37150+ rushing yards, 60+ rushing touchdowns,
- 37:40receiving touchdown, more total net yards than the opposing team,
- 37:44more points than the opposing team. The last NFL player to do it was Bo
- 37:47Jackson. That is who they rolled out to play with Patrick Mahomes. They said Pat's
- 37:51going to need a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things,
- 37:54maybe even like 7, 8 weeks, you know, until he looks full Pat. It was—
- 37:57and they said— and no, but like they were like, so in the meantime,
- 38:01we'll give you Bo Jackson. But here's the thing, to help out— this
- 38:06is fucking team building, bro. This is like— the way that they do this stuff
- 38:10is so reminiscent. I watched it for 20 years. They just
- 38:13find these little places to supplement whatever losses
- 38:17they've had before, to like tweak the little things that they need to do differently,
- 38:20and then they keep the core in place, and it's just infuriating.
- 38:23Curious, speaking of the core, I mean, a little bit of blast from the past—
- 38:26Eric Bieniemy back there calling the plays. Back there. And I gotta say this,
- 38:30there was something about it— they mentioned it right in the first, like, uh,
- 38:32set of drives when Kenneth Walker was just fucking marching the whole fucking team down
- 38:36the field. They were constantly saying over and over, no, this is a fucking statement.
- 38:40They're, they're doing this on purpose and they're going to keep doing it until
- 38:44it doesn't work. But then Patrick Mahomes— now this play was
- 38:47called back due to a holding, I believe. Patrick Mahomes— I remember
- 38:51which one. Yeah, did a goddamn Patrick Mahomes, just fucking new
- 38:55path, ran 110 yards to
- 38:59run 18 and then dove into 3 fucking defenders
- 39:03that all hit him. I know. And he got through the goal line. Now this
- 39:07was called back, but when I saw that and I saw him get up and
- 39:10like nothing just happened, I went like,
- 39:13fuck. Yeah, this is— the fucking Chiefs are winning the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes
- 39:18does not get— and I don't know why— I do know why, uh, he does
- 39:21not get enough credit for how tough of a player he is. Um,
- 39:25like they always give him like, oh, he's tough, he grinds it out. They talk
- 39:28about Josh Allen all the time, who Josh Allen is also a really really tough
- 39:31player. Like, he's also huge. He's also 6'5. He's the size of a fucking tight
- 39:35end. Like, Patrick Mahomes is like— they say he's 6'3.
- 39:39I think he's 6'2. I think 6'2. You know what I mean? Like, he's not
- 39:43that— he's not that big of a dude. He's bigger than you or I,
- 39:45but like, I mean, fucking Christ. And he just is— he just
- 39:49plays with such like just backyard instinct.
- 39:52Agreed. And back when everybody was smoking his cigar
- 39:57they were constantly talking about that. But now they've moved on to
- 40:01brighter pastures. Now he's washed up and old. Yeah. And then
- 40:05he— sometimes you gotta let a bitch remind a bitch. Exactly.
- 40:08And it's just what he did. He's still that dude. And if, and if he
- 40:11is anything like Tom Brady or,
- 40:15uh, Aaron Rodgers, who as they got older they actually
- 40:19started getting better at, at, at the quarterback position,
- 40:22they became better passers, they became Like, Aaron Rodgers won a couple MVPs.
- 40:27You know, like Lamar right now is one of the best pocket passers in the
- 40:31game. Like, like, that was not Lamar's game for his first 4 years. That's not
- 40:34what won him. Well, he was there, but like, that's not what won him his
- 40:37first MVP. Let me put it that way. No, no. I mean, he was
- 40:41already a great passer, but he wasn't what he is now. Like,
- 40:45he's unreal now. And whereas Mahomes started out as such a
- 40:49dynamic passer, but like To me, why wouldn't
- 40:53I expect Mahomes to find ways to get better at the things he's good at?
- 40:56You know, the— I
- 40:59want— before we head out, we got to just at least shit on the Broncos
- 41:02a little bit. Fuck you, Broncos. You're Raiders fans. God, I hate— I hate
- 41:06the Broncos. And I'm furious at myself for believing in your fucking defense.
- 41:10Fuck you. Throw this guy up for us. The Broncos. Fuck, I hate Sean Payton.
- 41:14The final graphic we have for this segment. It's, uh,
- 41:17the Broncos went 14-3 last season.
- 41:22Um, this was fascinating to me because it felt bizarre,
- 41:26but like, this is crazy. They're the first team to lose their season opener by
- 41:3020-plus points after having 14 or more wins in the previous season.
- 41:33In the history of the NFL, we've not seen a team with
- 41:3614 wins the previous season get fucking walloped like that. Yeah.
- 41:39Now, is that the Chiefs effect, Cody, or is that the
- 41:43Broncos having an issue? If you had to pick one,
- 41:47do you think that's the Chiefs, or the Chiefs and, and you got chiefed,
- 41:51or are the Broncos in trouble? Okay, let's start with the first one. I'm gonna
- 41:54say the Broncos are in trouble, not the Chiefs did the Chiefs thing, because I
- 41:57saw that first interception that was caught by Mansour, the 6th overall pick,
- 42:00and what the fuck was Bo Nix thinking? Um,
- 42:04and I actually said that out loud 5 more times throughout the game.
- 42:07Yeah. Is Bo Nix good?
- 42:10Like, did I not watch enough Broncos last year? I was
- 42:14like, I was almost lost with what I was watching with Bo Nix. Oh,
- 42:18I— that's exactly what happened was you just didn't watch enough, clearly. But what you
- 42:23did do was consume a lot of the, the conversation around him, which is inescapable.
- 42:27Bo Nix is not good, dude. I watched it.
- 42:31So the Broncos won like every game last year, like by,
- 42:35like by the skin of their teeth, like 3 points, right? Like Bo
- 42:39Nix would make a play at the end of the game or just in time
- 42:42to like whatever. But no, he's— he is— he
- 42:46is what we thought Brock Purdy was going to be. He is like what— you
- 42:49know how Brock Purdy is good? Where Brock Purdy is actually tough and fucking goes
- 42:52out and beats your ass. Remember when we thought Brock Purdy was just going to
- 42:55be like regular and just kind of like, uh, but he's actually
- 42:59better than that? Yeah, he is. Uh, Bo Nix is exactly
- 43:03the just sort of like, oh, you're just a guy. You're, you're never going
- 43:07to be like the, the reason that a team
- 43:11wins a game. You might not always be the, the reason they lose it,
- 43:14but you're like, it's going to come down to the final fucking minutes or you're
- 43:18getting your ass kicked. I'm going to say what I think it is. And I'm
- 43:21not saying this only because he looks identical to him. He just looks like Zach
- 43:23Wilson again. Yeah, he's— I mean,
- 43:26he obviously has been on a better team than Zach Wilson. I agree
- 43:31with that. There's like— it's like, right, like He looks like Zach Wilson. He just
- 43:34looks like a run-of-the-mill white guy with some, some skills that
- 43:38if you put him in the right system, you're gonna sneak out some wins.
- 43:41But at the end of the day, yeah, I don't see an ounce of toughness
- 43:44that I see in a guy like Brock. You know why I like Brock Purdy?
- 43:47Like, legitimately, this is like real talk. Like, Brock Purdy, I see like,
- 43:51that's a shit who's been shit on from day one. No, he's got the Tom
- 43:54Brady— like, he's that Tom Brady chip, but, but he doesn't treat it like a
- 43:58chip. He just like goes out there Fucks you up. Like, you know who else
- 44:01had this at one point for a very short— uh, Tyler Heinicke had this a
- 44:05short time when he was over there with the Commanders. And Tyler Heinicke like strung
- 44:08together like 5 fucking wins in 6 weeks. Yeah, like, and then he
- 44:11was buying like fucking Air Force Ones on the colors of every team he beat.
- 44:15And I'm like, fuck yeah, this is my guy. Weird white guy shit.
- 44:18Yeah, that's some weird white guy shit, but I could get on board with some
- 44:21weird white guy shit. Um, Purdy to me is like one of those dudes who
- 44:24like he he would be a good quarterback on most teams.
- 44:28He wouldn't be Purdy. Um, like what he is is he's the
- 44:32perfect quarterback for the, for the Shanahan system, but he'd be good elsewhere. He'd be,
- 44:36he'd be good. He would say if he was on the Falcons right now,
- 44:38would you take him or Cooper Kupp? Absolutely. No, it's not even a question.
- 44:41No question. And that's the thing is like, but would he lead them to an
- 44:45NFC Championship game? Probably not. No, he wouldn't. I mean, that's not— he's not the
- 44:48difference between— but he can take an NFC Championship team and either make them
- 44:52absolutely an NFC Championship team or maybe better. Absolutely. I agree
- 44:56with that. He's better than Jimmy Garoppolo. He's like, you know what I mean?
- 44:58So like, yes, he is at— because he, because he's the quarterback,
- 45:03he does everything that needs to be done for that offense. I like Isaiah's
- 45:07comment right here. Throw it up real quick. Uh, Bo was
- 45:10like Tim Tebow on steroids. He looks so ass,
- 45:14and then he just transformed into Steve Young. That being said, if you've seen Tim
- 45:17Tebow lately, uh, I'm not saying he's on steroids, but he's,
- 45:21he's definitely taking something, some injectables. Yeah, well,
- 45:26I mean, listen, by the way, no judgment. I take peptides
- 45:29these days, so— and I take anti— I
- 45:33take probiotics. Yeah, I inject peptides. No,
- 45:36I'm telling you straight up, I do it. I don't give a fuck. I,
- 45:39I have— I, I, like Alan Ritchson,
- 45:43have no, no shame in telling you what is going into said body.
- 45:46I'm not taking steroids, but I am taking peptides. And I'm not gonna lie to
- 45:50you, I don't think they're doing— did you hear Alan Ritchson is hitting the streets?
- 45:53It's gonna be a problem. It's gonna be a problem. I've,
- 45:56I've heard he could be for any of us. I've heard
- 46:01he is. Alan? I don't know. That's just— I'm substantiating. Listen, I'm a straight
- 46:05man, but, but Daddy might make some exceptions. He's barely straight. He's,
- 46:09he's, he's begrudgingly straight. Listen, no, it's not that I'm actually begrudgingly straight
- 46:14is actually quite accurate. Yeah, no, I would give anything to be gay. I just,
- 46:17I just, there's just nothing about it. Yeah, you are
- 46:20fully straight but begrudgingly so. Yeah, like I wish I was gay. You have any
- 46:24idea what this would fucking do in West Hollywood? Oh my God,
- 46:28I think we're about to find out with Alan Ritchson. I mean,
- 46:32listen, I don't know if the world's ready for those 2 daddies
- 46:36to be one thing. No, definitely not. The only man in the world I might
- 46:39go gay for for? Definitely. Listen, only one? No, do you—
- 46:43there's more. Hold on, what about Colton? Coleman Domingo?
- 46:47Nah, he's not my style. He's my— he's my style. Really? For a gay man?
- 46:50Yeah. Can I tell you who I would though? He's not gay though.
- 46:53He's not gay though, but like Michael B. Jordan.
- 46:57I like how you're like, he's not gay but I want him to be gay,
- 47:00and I want— but if I were gay, if we were both gay, but I—
- 47:02but if Michael B. Jordan came up to me and Hot take.
- 47:06No, it's not a hot take at all. I'm fucking fully aware that this is
- 47:10not crazy. That's maybe like me being like, you know who I think I would
- 47:14go get more? Yeah, Halle Berry. Yeah, no shit. I'm just saying,
- 47:16like, if I was in a club and Michael B. Jordan came up and whispered
- 47:20behind my ear and said something, I'll be like, you know what, give a fuck
- 47:23what he said, I'm going with him. Give it a shot. You sometimes you're like,
- 47:27this is my time to experiment. It's— it must— and you never know when it's
- 47:30going to come in. It might You never know what's gonna
- 47:34come. That was your words, not mine. Okay,
- 47:37anyways, gambling's been a problem for a long time,
- 47:40Tanya. Headline number 2. Holy shit, headline number 2.
- 47:43Good for us. Um, I gotta say, um,
- 47:46so what are your thoughts on this? Let me tell the people what happened.
- 47:49The pro sports leagues, uh, the men's pro sports
- 47:53leagues, uh, and joined their unions. So we're talking
- 47:57NFL, MLS, MLB, NHL,
- 48:01all the men's joined with their unions and asking for
- 48:06sports betting regulators to
- 48:09ban anybody who goes to credibly
- 48:13harass athletes over bets. Now,
- 48:17all of these leagues and several of their players are in
- 48:21bed with said sportsbooks. They have endorsements. They have
- 48:25full-on, uh, league relationships. The official sportsbooks
- 48:30of these fucking leagues all exist. Yeah.
- 48:33And on top of that, the women's leagues
- 48:38found out about this letter after the fact.
- 48:41Yeah. They were not invited to be a part of it despite the fact that
- 48:44the WNBA and the NWO, like all of these leagues
- 48:48also deal with that same stuff. So to
- 48:52me, this very much feels like both
- 48:56the leagues— like the leagues definitely wanted to
- 49:00have their cake and eat it too, and the PAs of those
- 49:04specific leagues being fed up with the superstars who
- 49:08are promoting it and making a ton of money off it while they get the
- 49:12shit in their DMs that you and I always talk about. Yeah,
- 49:15right. Yeah. I have a problem with this, um,
- 49:19because it doesn't feel genuine. And like,
- 49:22like, this is something that's a little near and dear to my heart. Uh,
- 49:25you know how I feel about this whole thing. I've said it multiple times.
- 49:28Even, even other listeners that know nothing about me that are your
- 49:32people, like, have come to you saying like they're glad I've said— someone
- 49:36is going to get fucking killed. Yeah, that's my
- 49:40problem. And this is like not— I'm— I, I This
- 49:44is where it always— like, this is where it lost me with the whole trans
- 49:47shit and everything else. So like, this is, this is where I lost relationships in
- 49:50the last, uh, in the last Summer Olympics. Um,
- 49:54I, I literally have relationships I don't have anymore over the whole boxing trans
- 49:57nonsense that was fucking manufactured. Because by the way,
- 50:01in case you don't remember the last boxing, uh, female boxing situation that
- 50:05happened in the last Olympics, a female boxer fucked up another boxer, and that
- 50:08boxer that got their ass kicked Tried to claim that person was trans. By the
- 50:12way, she was Albanian. And like, I was sincerely worried
- 50:16she was going to get killed when she went home. Yeah. Like, I was horrified
- 50:19by this whole thing. And I had a lot of conversations with people about
- 50:23the whole conversation going like, no, no, your dipshit rhetoric,
- 50:27because you are so fucking stupid,
- 50:30is going to get somebody killed. And that's where like,
- 50:34like I already have a line and that's where I am with this whole gambling
- 50:37thing. I have no problem with you fuckers gambling. I have no problem with you
- 50:40guys making prop bets. I have a problem with you guys not being able to
- 50:42handle the prop bets. I have a problem with, with you promoting,
- 50:46like joining up with sportsbooks or becoming partners with sports— with players
- 50:50and leagues. Oh, I've always been a problem with that. And that's why they're talking
- 50:53out both sides of their mouth. That's it. And that's part of the issue that—
- 50:56and the thing that sucks too is like a lot of— so the, the PAs
- 50:59of these leagues, same shit, are— but the PAs are representing
- 51:03a bunch of players who actually are getting a ton of harassment. Yes. Who do
- 51:06not have deals with these sports. Yes. But LeBron does,
- 51:10right? But like whoever— I don't know who— oh, sweet holy
- 51:14market commercial, you know what I mean? Like, so the superstars have
- 51:18the big money and they're the ones that are left to pick up
- 51:22the fucking bullshit when they're getting harassed and, you know, whatever else. It's all a
- 51:27mess. Yep. Um, not including at
- 51:30the very least the WNBA and the NWSL—
- 51:34weird choice. Um, all of it just is— it does
- 51:38seem performative. It seems like something that the leagues are doing to stay
- 51:42right with the PAs. That's what it is. And that's it. More— it's performative.
- 51:45And that's what I hate probably the most thing about it. And that's what,
- 51:48like, that my, my irk of this is— it's not
- 51:51like— this is not somebody's feelings. Yeah, it's not somebody's thoughts.
- 51:55Someone will be— no, it's just gonna happen. And we know what happens with gambling.
- 51:59It eventually gets out control. And if someone doesn't get killed,
- 52:03best case scenario, someone doesn't get killed and we just have
- 52:07a World Series or an NBA Finals or a Super Bowl that
- 52:11is fucking null and void. Yeah, that another thing. Yeah, by the way,
- 52:15guys, I, you know, it's going to happen. I'm just waiting for
- 52:19it to happen because here's the thing, similar things are already— look no further than
- 52:23everything we've already covered with the gigantic scandal
- 52:26that is taking place over there with the Clippers. You think they're the only team?
- 52:30You really think they're the only team? I'll look further back at that pod,
- 52:33that Astro scandal. Oh my God, they're stealing signs by
- 52:36using digital technology. You thought they were the only team? You really thought
- 52:40that? That was always like the thing. And it always bugs me whenever
- 52:44teams are like, whenever a team is caught cheating, the rest
- 52:48of the teams being like, I cannot believe this.
- 52:52They were doing what? We have integrity.
- 52:56Like, And you know what's so funny? It's always teams that are winning titles that
- 53:00somehow get caught, right? Yeah. Like, oh, so that's funny.
- 53:04Like, so the Astros coming
- 53:07out of nowhere as a small market team starting to beat your ass, and now
- 53:11you're suddenly— they're the first people to bang a trash can. You idiots.
- 53:15We know you've been fucking sign stealing the entire time. Forever.
- 53:18You all have been doing it. And then they do this faux outrage. They're like,
- 53:22Bill Belichick was the first person to ever try to watch a goddamn practice.
- 53:25I can't believe Bill invented cheating. Like, okay guys,
- 53:29he invented cameras. Like, can you believe that shit?
- 53:32By the way, Bill Belichick Spygate or Bountygate,
- 53:36what was worse? I mean, you have to tell me. I'm— I think it's
- 53:40fucking Bountygate. I don't think this is even a question. I think one was literal,
- 53:44literal contract killing. The other was trying to fucking
- 53:48get another team's players. You want to know why I think Bountygate was worse?
- 53:52Because they didn't fucking win anything. Like, yeah, you did all
- 53:56that and didn't even fucking win. Fucking— you didn't even build a dynasty with your—
- 53:59my favorite part about the, about the Patriots scandals, and this sort of applies to
- 54:02Astros as well, but my favorite part about the, uh, Patriots scandals was that like
- 54:05no matter what they did, they kept fucking winning. No, they like— oh, they won
- 54:09after the fact too. Yeah, fucking catch them, sanction them, strip the— Astros won a
- 54:13World Series 3 years after the fact, winning anyway because your shit was bullshit,
- 54:17right? Um, you suspended Tom Brady for 4 weeks
- 54:21and then he came back and toasted the whole league and then had the greatest
- 54:24comeback in the history of the Super Bowl. I push back because Chance says the
- 54:27old phrase, phrase, you're, uh, that goes, if you're not cheating, you're not trying,
- 54:31or you're, you know, cheating. You're cheating. Yeah. Or you're just cheating. No,
- 54:35but what— but to Chance's point, everybody is kind of doing
- 54:39a little bit of that. Like, they are. Yes, some people are doing it more
- 54:41than others. Yes. Does it, does it mean we should ignore it? No. But like,
- 54:45I always think the outrage from everybody else is really funny. Like, that's all it
- 54:49is. It's like, I don't think that you should just ignore it. But I do
- 54:51think it's really funny when Dodgers fans are always like, and, and then
- 54:54they were banging the trash cans. And I was like, all right,
- 54:57everybody relax, okay? Just relax. So here's the thing, uh, I would
- 55:01like to preface headline— how about Harbaugh's sign-stealing controversy?
- 55:04There's like, there's sign-stealing controversies also. Like, well, Michigan in
- 55:09general is a disaster. Like, there's— it's just all over the place.
- 55:12I would like to preface headline number 3 with the following: Those
- 55:16of you that don't know, because I'm only saying this because those of you that
- 55:19don't know who have not been watching the regulars from the get-go, brand new subscribers,
- 55:24welcome to the show. Hi. I want to preface everything
- 55:28in this is really like weirdly personal
- 55:31to me. I am Jewish and I represented
- 55:35Israel in the World Baseball Classic in 2013 and 2017.
- 55:41Times change and things change very, very rapidly.
- 55:44I have a very specific opinion on this next headline,
- 55:48and I want to make it abundantly clear. Those of you
- 55:52that are walking into this show that are watching the first time that equate
- 55:55the belief in a government to
- 55:59Judaism, you're not going to like what this is going to
- 56:03come out of my mouth. Again, I wore Israel across my
- 56:07chest and at the time quite proudly.
- 56:11I want to make this abundantly clear. That was more about my Jewish
- 56:14pride. That has nothing to do with a government's
- 56:18decisions on how they conduct their business. And I can't stress this
- 56:22enough. I don't like billionaires. Tanya, headline 3.
- 56:26So Macklemore was
- 56:30under fire for being pro-Palestine,
- 56:33having a pro-Palestine message in his opening act
- 56:37for Ed Sheeran on tour with him. That culminated with a
- 56:41call Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, made to Ed Sheeran
- 56:45to tell him that he would either have
- 56:49to remove Macklemore from his tour or they would
- 56:53not be welcome in Gillette Stadium. Not only not be welcome in Gillette Stadium,
- 56:57but that he would rally other owners and did rally
- 57:01other owners around the NFL to
- 57:04prevent Ed Sheeran from being able to appear on his tour dates in their
- 57:09NFL stadiums as well. Ed Sheeran
- 57:13capitulated to Robert Kraft and removed Macklemore
- 57:18from the tour. He said that he spoke with Ed Sheeran specifically.
- 57:22Yeah, Ed came out today and said, actually, it was my promoter
- 57:25who removed him, not me. Don't love that because I
- 57:30don't know why Macklemore would lie about that at this point. Um, Macklemore was
- 57:33very gracious to Ed in his— he really was in You really
- 57:37got to give him credit for it. Really, really graciously said, like, I, you know,
- 57:39I am— to be clear, I am not a victim of this.
- 57:43I got removed from a tour. There's people losing their lives. All I want,
- 57:46and all I want out of this is for people to understand that, like,
- 57:50this is just like, this is what happened, and I am not
- 57:53a victim. They are the people who are like brave, strong heroes.
- 57:57I'm just fucking trying to draw awareness to it. Um,
- 58:02In the hours since all of that happened, the last
- 58:0630 hours or so, yes, Macklemore has come
- 58:11out, you know, kind of the ringleader in some
- 58:15ways for Ed Sheeran's tour falling
- 58:19apart. Actually, you know what, Robert Kraft is the reason that Ed Sheeran's tour is
- 58:23falling apart, because Ed Sheeran capitulated to Robert Kraft and all these owners,
- 58:26and now Several of his— every one of his
- 58:30opening acts and parts of his band have quit the tour.
- 58:34Yep. Finneas, Billie Eilish's brother,
- 58:37out. Yep. Um, and another Irish, um,
- 58:41I can't remember what his name, but he— Aaron Rowe. Rowe is definitely
- 58:45the last name. Okay. So he Irish, he said, you know,
- 58:48beautiful written, eloquent, gorgeous speech, uh, a post about being
- 58:52Irish and understanding the plight of the Palestinian people and that he
- 58:56cannot stand by. In this particular situation.
- 58:59Um, like, really, I think he gained a lot of
- 59:03respect from people. Uh, Lucas Graham dropped out. Um,
- 59:06so like, they are in crisis mode. Like, his entire
- 59:10tour is in jeopardy now. And, uh, that is all because
- 59:15he received a call from a billionaire who told him, hey,
- 59:19pull Macklemore or you're not coming here. Yeah. And I'll make sure you can't go.
- 59:22And this guy who's worth almost half a billion dollars said, oh no, I guess
- 59:26I have to do what Robert Kraft wants me to do. So here we are
- 59:30now where this intersects in our
- 59:33realm. Yes. In sports headlines.
- 59:37We talk about pop culture, but this is in sports headlines very specifically because
- 59:41Robert Kraft, for those who don't know,
- 59:44is— there are 2 sort of heads of state
- 59:48among NFL owners. And they are involved in
- 59:52anything that the NFL owners do, whether it is within the
- 59:56NFL or not. And this obviously he drew on his relationship as
- 59:59an— as a heavy hitter NFL owner to, to create
- 1:00:03this situation. They're involved in everything NFL owners do.
- 1:00:08It is Robert Kraft and Jerry Jones. For obvious reasons,
- 1:00:12they are not the richest owners, but they are the owners of
- 1:00:152 of the richest franchises, and they are also 2 of the biggest
- 1:00:19brands. Yes. Nothing happens among
- 1:00:23NFL owners without Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft.
- 1:00:26Yeah. So they are at the center of fucking everything. Yeah. Sure you've noticed.
- 1:00:29I have. Now Robert Kraft
- 1:00:33has hearkened to hate speech. He's talked about the fact that he will not—
- 1:00:37he will not allow hate speech, something that
- 1:00:40Macklemore has not engaged in whatsoever. Not once. It should be
- 1:00:44noted that Macklemore said very specifically, very specifically,
- 1:00:49he said, to all of my Jewish brothers and sisters,
- 1:00:53criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, of apartheid,
- 1:00:57being against genocide, it is in no way criticism of you.
- 1:01:01The message is for peace, love, for all human beings to be
- 1:01:05treated with dignity, respect, and equality. That is what he said to
- 1:01:08his, uh, to the crowd in New Jersey earlier this month.
- 1:01:12Yeah. Um, he is not spreading antisemitism. He did
- 1:01:16have a— 12 years ago, had a moment where he,
- 1:01:20uh, did something antisemitic. He did a caricature of,
- 1:01:24um, a Jewish guy. It was, it was sort of this like— I very much
- 1:01:28remember the intent. But he has profusely
- 1:01:33apologized since then, has like regularly been like, yes,
- 1:01:36he has fucked up. That was not cool. Um, so not
- 1:01:40on me to forgive him, just putting that into the
- 1:01:44conversation. Um, and the bigger thing is that his whole thing
- 1:01:47is centered around stopping an apartheid state and a genocide.
- 1:01:52Yes. I want to give you your time to
- 1:01:56say what you need to say. What time do I need? I'm good. I also
- 1:01:59do want to make it clear that Robert Kraft
- 1:02:04was at the center— was at— is so
- 1:02:08much at the center of collusion in every single collusion case. Thank you.
- 1:02:12That he— that's actually what I wanted to bring up first— was subpoenaed.
- 1:02:16He was one of 3, I think 3 or 4 owners subpoenaed
- 1:02:19in the Colin Kaepernick collusion case in 2017.
- 1:02:24And the reason that that's the case is because collusion can't happen without
- 1:02:28Robert Kraft. True. It cannot
- 1:02:32happen in the NFL. Collusion cannot happen without Robert Kraft and
- 1:02:36Jerry Jones. There are owners of varying
- 1:02:40importance outside of that— the Rooneys, the Maras, the,
- 1:02:44um, you know, the Hunts now have become incredibly powerful— but those
- 1:02:482, collusion cannot happen without them. And he just
- 1:02:53performed— gave away the collusion Now, is it
- 1:02:56actually collusion? No, because these are private businesses and a specific difference.
- 1:03:00But, but we all can fucking put— fucking
- 1:03:04kidding me. Are you— he's admitting that he
- 1:03:08did it. Like, this is like, this is insane. No, he said, I called these.
- 1:03:11I know he called them. It's very easy for him to call them. It's very
- 1:03:15easy for him to rally these billionaire troops. By the way, these other troops,
- 1:03:19Jerry Jones, I don't think Jerry Jones gives a shit about Jews. By the way,
- 1:03:22I don't think he gives a shit about Jews one way or the other.
- 1:03:25I don't think he loves or hates him. I don't think Jerry Jones understands what
- 1:03:28a Jew is. I don't think he's ever met a Jew. I don't think he
- 1:03:31understands shit. I don't— this was
- 1:03:36one— Ed Sheeran, congratulations. You ended
- 1:03:40your career in the funniest way possible because you just—
- 1:03:44you just have no balls. I would actually have been okay
- 1:03:48if you took a stance one way or the other. I would have gladly
- 1:03:52disagreed with your stance. But the fact that you just pass the
- 1:03:56buck, you are the antithesis, the true opposite
- 1:04:01of what a musical artist is and should be. And you
- 1:04:05should be embarrassed and honestly go away forever. Also, your fucking music sucks.
- 1:04:09I mean, that's the thing is like, you know, what's really fascinating is one
- 1:04:13of the stadiums that was included was Raymond James Stadium.
- 1:04:16And I'm pretty sure they just had Kanye perform. Interesting.
- 1:04:20Kanye's fine. Who's— who's He's engaged
- 1:04:23in— you mean Nazis? You mean the guy that had a song a year ago
- 1:04:27called Heil Hitler? Yeah, that guy. So that's just checking.
- 1:04:30That's, that's who these people are taking a stand against.
- 1:04:34This is, this is the reality, is it's all selective bullshit.
- 1:04:37No, the reality is one thing. Robert Kraft is very good
- 1:04:40friends with Benjamin Netanyahu. Very good friends.
- 1:04:45Benjamin Netanyahu, by the way, I'm Jewish. Hi, played for Israel.
- 1:04:48Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. War criminal.
- 1:04:52And, uh, and not only is,
- 1:04:55is, uh, is Kraft friends with Netanyahu, he's friends
- 1:04:59with Trump. And word on the street is that he's in the Epstein— like,
- 1:05:02you have no idea how mad I am about the entire thing. I am
- 1:05:06a Jew, a Jew that actually played professional sports
- 1:05:10and put out that I was Jewish. Got a lot of death threats,
- 1:05:13by the way, in the fucking process. So yeah, I have a very
- 1:05:17big problem when Jews specifically
- 1:05:20try to use Judaism to justify oppression. That's a
- 1:05:24very big problem for me. And in fact, I've said this before, and I'm
- 1:05:28sure people want to fucking hammer me for this, but like the most
- 1:05:32Jewish thing possible, because we are Jews, we are people that have been oppressed for
- 1:05:37thousands and thousands of years. The most Jewish thing you could be is pro-Palestine
- 1:05:41and the people who do not deserve to be oppressed. Those of you
- 1:05:45that have come, that have just in your minds be like, so you're pro-Hamas?
- 1:05:49No. What the fuck is wrong with you?
- 1:05:52How do you not see this? At least just truly,
- 1:05:56how do you not see it? Like, I don't—
- 1:06:01it honest to God, this is the one thing that actually
- 1:06:05breaks my heart. Like, it really upsets me because
- 1:06:09I'm not even fucking religious. I'm an atheist. I don't believe
- 1:06:13any of your religions are real. Literally none of them. I think they're all fucking
- 1:06:16bullshit. I have no problem with you expressing your faith.
- 1:06:19I have no problem believing your religion, performing your religion, perform,
- 1:06:24you know, prohibited that it does not harm other people.
- 1:06:27Like, I don't know what else to say other than believe what you would like
- 1:06:31and please express willingly because that's the great
- 1:06:34thing of what we're supposed to be. But the moment you make your
- 1:06:39religion some— somehow a way to make yourself bigger
- 1:06:43is the moment you have lost me before you even opened your fucking mouth.
- 1:06:47And that's the one thing I've always loved about Judaism.
- 1:06:51Jews have always been the underdogs. This is not that
- 1:06:55scenario, and it upsets me in a way that I actually can't articulate.
- 1:07:00Well, I think that there's a, you know, there's also the difference between being ethnically
- 1:07:04Jewish and being Um, like, uh,
- 1:07:07applying Jewish principles, uh,
- 1:07:11to your life. And you can be ethnically Jewish and
- 1:07:15not give a fuck about Jewish beliefs. And that is what Netanyahu and Israel is.
- 1:07:19Just like the people who perpetrated 9/11
- 1:07:23in the name of Islam didn't give a fuck about the values of Islam.
- 1:07:26No. And didn't give a fuck about— and so they don't represent Muslims to me,
- 1:07:29and Israel doesn't represent Jews to me.
- 1:07:32Israel represents the corruption of,
- 1:07:36of religion that exists across the world in every religion.
- 1:07:39We see it here with radical Christianity, evangelical Christianity,
- 1:07:44the pedophiles of the Catholic Church,
- 1:07:47uh, Muslim extremists, uh, the, the Zionists that believe
- 1:07:51in apartheid and genocide. It's all of the same thing, which is you've warped
- 1:07:56religion into an excuse for power and I— it's
- 1:08:00all the same. So there's no way— and hating
- 1:08:03al-Qaeda is not, uh, Islamophobic,
- 1:08:06and hating the, the— a genocidal apartheid
- 1:08:10state is not, uh, anti-Semitic. I had a,
- 1:08:14um, I had a very— I told you this before, I probably actually said this
- 1:08:17story, or— but I, I was in a documentary, uh,
- 1:08:21about my time with Team Israel. And our time in Israel, I, I got to
- 1:08:24meet so many, like, wonderful Palestinians. And there was one moment in the movie where
- 1:08:27we met And he was the best guy I ever met. Yeah, just hearing his
- 1:08:31perspective and why he wasn't like hesitant of rooting for us,
- 1:08:34like I'm getting teary-eyed and like emotional thinking about it now. And it
- 1:08:38just, it'll never not bother me that— it'll
- 1:08:43never not bother me. Yeah, it will, it will live with me forever.
- 1:08:48Yeah. And, um, what's happening right now will
- 1:08:53live with me forever. And I hate that I in
- 1:08:57any way, shape, or form, like, people would ever think
- 1:09:01that I would justify this behavior. Yeah. I— and,
- 1:09:04and the fact that NFL owners so easily,
- 1:09:08so easily, so easily— fucking
- 1:09:11Kanye played fucking what, SoFi, like, fucking a couple months ago?
- 1:09:15Like, I, I just— no. And you have, dude, like,
- 1:09:18fucking tap out. You guys are fucked. And you don't, you don't
- 1:09:22deserve to be put in bought by a group of extremists,
- 1:09:27um, within your ethnic group or your religion to defend—
- 1:09:31to ever have to defend yourself. And that's like what ends up happening, right?
- 1:09:35Um, but luckily our viewers, and I think the people in our circle,
- 1:09:38really understand. And, you know, um, certainly I
- 1:09:42will never put up with any sort of antisemitism on that front. No,
- 1:09:46no, trust me. I, I hope you know, I'd like— I When I
- 1:09:50played for Israel the first time in 2013, we couldn't take the bus
- 1:09:54to the stadium. Yeah. And we had to have a dummy bus and
- 1:09:57an actual bus, and no one took either of them. And they had to be
- 1:10:01sniffed out by dog, uh, sniffing— like bomb-sniffing
- 1:10:04dogs. Dog-sniffing bombs. Sorry, whatever it is. No, you know what it is. I'm sorry,
- 1:10:08it's been enough of these. I know. Um, it was just— it was
- 1:10:11like kind of a reality because at the time it wasn't
- 1:10:15because of any oppression. At the time, their worry was
- 1:10:18Munich Olympics fucking 30 years prior.
- 1:10:22What do you mean Munich Olympics? When the Israeli Olympians
- 1:10:26were all slaughtered, they were worried about that for what? Us.
- 1:10:30Why? Because they thought we were going to be killed because we were representing
- 1:10:33Israel in a world. Did they think that? They did. We had 3
- 1:10:38members of our team that were a part of— that were definitely Mossad.
- 1:10:42Okay, no, no, like it was a different—
- 1:10:46a lot of people. It was a very weird scenario. It was very ugly.
- 1:10:49We actually— I mean, they still talk like that. Oh no, no, we weren't allowed
- 1:10:52to wear— still act like this. They act like Israel's always under attack. No,
- 1:10:55but at the time, like, there was— we weren't— this wasn't from Israel. I'm sorry,
- 1:10:59this is from Major League Baseball. We weren't allowed to— Major League Baseball
- 1:11:03was afraid you were going to be attacked? Yes. Okay, I thought you were saying
- 1:11:06that— I was like, of course the Israeli government would know that. No, no,
- 1:11:08no, no, Major League Baseball Major League Baseball, like, we weren't allowed to wear our
- 1:11:12Israeli garb anywhere outside of like the stadium. Like,
- 1:11:15they didn't want anyone to know. Like, it was because of antisemitism.
- 1:11:19Yes, yes. Okay, okay, okay. That— because of antisemitism. There was
- 1:11:23a time when this was the thing. I thought you were saying Israel
- 1:11:27was worried you were going to be attacked. I was like, well, yeah, they always
- 1:11:30say— they didn't even fucking know we were there at the time. Okay, now I
- 1:11:34just— I want put it on record. No, no, baseball. Okay,
- 1:11:37like, because they were like, you're gonna get anti-Semitic. Because, because there are a lot
- 1:11:41of anti-Semitic— a lot, you know, um, fans in, in baseball. And you
- 1:11:45know what's not helping? All of fucking this. Yeah, is— yeah,
- 1:11:49um, Robert Kraft does nothing but make people like Cody's
- 1:11:53lives harder. I would just— before we move on, I want to make sure that
- 1:11:56everybody knows these are the stadiums that are on record that reportedly were going to
- 1:11:59join Robert Kraft in their protest
- 1:12:04of Macklemore. The Panthers, David Tepper,
- 1:12:08already a well-loved owner. Jerry Jones,
- 1:12:11naturally. Well, he'll just do whatever Robert Kraft says and apparently
- 1:12:16vice versa. The Falcons and Arthur Blank,
- 1:12:19huge bummer. You're better than that. You're the one good one.
- 1:12:23Suppose now I'm going to double-check these, but I just want everybody— that's
- 1:12:27what this is, what's being reported. The Bucs
- 1:12:31and the Glazer family and Lincoln Financial and Jeffrey Lurie,
- 1:12:34which is real fucking weird. So anyways, everybody double-check,
- 1:12:38triple-check those. But that's what's being reported. Just, you know,
- 1:12:42none of this is— I'm a Patriots fan. I am openly critical
- 1:12:47of Robert Kraft and have been for a long time. And I, and I will
- 1:12:49be. I very much try my best not to ever
- 1:12:54sugarcoat anything, but also I cover the NFL, and so I'm not asking anybody
- 1:12:58to revoke their fandom or anything like that. But God forbid we just have
- 1:13:02open conversations about these things. Um, and I can
- 1:13:05tell you one thing, there's not a chance in hell I'll ever go to a
- 1:13:09concert at Gillette Stadium again. Yeah, I'll never do it. I will never— really gross.
- 1:13:12I will never see music performed at Gillette Stadium again
- 1:13:16in my life. Yeah, I won't fucking do it. So there's
- 1:13:19that. Media Corner, real quick.
- 1:13:24We— did you talk about this at all on your show on The Fan with
- 1:13:28the NCAA? I'm sorry, the Protect College Sports Act?
- 1:13:31No. So this is our Media Corner. I would— I've been very much waiting to
- 1:13:35talk about this. This is a— I don't know what to say other than those
- 1:13:39of you that don't know about this Save College— Protect College
- 1:13:43Sports Act is the official— it's the PCSA. It's— we've
- 1:13:47discussed it quite a bit as time's gone forward. But like, here's the deal.
- 1:13:51I want to make this abundantly clear. This is
- 1:13:55disgusting in a way that I like. I just—
- 1:13:59I don't know what to say, Tanya, other than even
- 1:14:03the title of this bill makes me sick.
- 1:14:07Yeah, it's giving very much Make America Great Again, Protect College
- 1:14:10Sports, Protect Women's Sports. Protect, protect, protect, protect.
- 1:14:16The reality is the— at the core of this for our purposes is
- 1:14:20the fact that ESPN has been pushing publicly for the passing
- 1:14:24of the Protect College Sports Act, which is fucking
- 1:14:28real federal legislation that apparently ESPN has decided that they're totally
- 1:14:32comfortable to— because it makes more money. Of course it does. Right.
- 1:14:35So they've had Nick Saban and Pat McAfee rallying for— oh, the most
- 1:14:39completely right down the middle people that the
- 1:14:43fucking organization has ever had. He's actually spoken to Congress like we, you know,
- 1:14:46whatever. Yeah. No, no, he fucking is buddying up with Trump a shit ton of
- 1:14:49times. I believe, I believe the Hunger Games fucking— I saw Pat McAfee
- 1:14:53buddying up with Trump. Pat, what the fuck happened to you?
- 1:14:56You used to have balls. So then this
- 1:15:00past Saturday, which everybody knows, they had Ted Cruz on College GameDay
- 1:15:04for 10 minutes spreading falsehoods and misinformation
- 1:15:09in, in defense of the College Sports Act, which he has
- 1:15:12coauthored, by the way. He coauthored this with a Democrat,
- 1:15:16a very centrist Democrat who— so they keep calling it
- 1:15:20a bipartisan bill, which is why ESPN gets away with this. It's not a bipartisan
- 1:15:23bill. It has a ton of actually left pushback. And the
- 1:15:27big thing about this bill is that it
- 1:15:30would— it is seeking a lot of things, but essentially It is seeking for the
- 1:15:34NCAA to have more power than it's ever had before, more power than it had
- 1:15:38before NIL, the kind of power that would essentially have them
- 1:15:41running themselves as a professional business on one end without a players union
- 1:15:45on the other side, and also would see them looking
- 1:15:50at potential antitrust exemptions, which is something
- 1:15:53that is afforded to in ways that they
- 1:15:57shouldn't to a lot of professional leagues that
- 1:16:00then would be extended to the NCAA. If they are now in some way,
- 1:16:03shape, or form not liable for antitrust, then now
- 1:16:08they can collude against the college players better than they ever had before.
- 1:16:12And none of this protects the college athletes. They don't get
- 1:16:16a players union. They don't get a union or student athlete union. They don't get
- 1:16:19any of the things that protect them. And it gives them more power over
- 1:16:23yet again, a a majority Black workforce.
- 1:16:27I don't know what to say other than this bill is like— it
- 1:16:31should just be written like this: we're doing evil shit that
- 1:16:36is clearly fucking evil in front of you,
- 1:16:39and you're going to like it because it reminds you of a bygone era
- 1:16:43that never fucking existed. And we're gonna put out fucking Uncle
- 1:16:48Fester Ted Cruz to get it going. I never thought this day would happen.
- 1:16:51Good on you, fucking University of Texas fans, for fucking chanting
- 1:16:55Ted Cruz sucks over and over again. Good job there. Fucking love that.
- 1:16:59Ted Cruz, deeply unpopular senator, being pushing this, this stuff.
- 1:17:03By the way, a bunch of stuff that he said was misinformation. Then they have
- 1:17:07so much backlash to that that they agree to have somebody on to speak for
- 1:17:11the other side, which was the NCAA.
- 1:17:14So they had the NAACP president, right? NAACP.
- 1:17:19Spokesperson for, you know, on their end, which, by the way, very qualified
- 1:17:25person. But like, what? Also, what? The NCAA president,
- 1:17:29Derek Johnson, who, who signed on there, they're against this for
- 1:17:33obvious reasons because someone needs to be. Majority Black workforce.
- 1:17:36Not Chris Murphy, the senator who's been loudest against it. Not Cory
- 1:17:40Booker, one of the other senators who's been loudest against it.
- 1:17:43It's the NCAA— NAACP president.
- 1:17:47And they gave him a little slot on
- 1:17:50the 6 PM Eastern Time SportsCenter. Eastern Time.
- 1:17:54By the way, just curious, did the SEC threaten Jimmy Kimmel to not
- 1:17:58have James Talarico on his show? Yes. Cool.
- 1:18:02Was this same person put in the same
- 1:18:06time slot as fucking Ted Cruz? Yes. ESPN, fuck you.
- 1:18:11So Ted Cruz gets 3 million viewers on College GameDay. And how many
- 1:18:15does the president of the NAACP get? Give or take $400,000.
- 1:18:20Cool. ESPN, you're a propaganda machine. By the way, by the way,
- 1:18:23with the vote coming up that they're pushing for, this is so last minute
- 1:18:27that for— in order for it to even— oh, that's right, it might not even
- 1:18:31fucking sway anything. So like, they put— I mean, it's a total like— it's
- 1:18:35a middle finger. It's gross. And kudos to Derek Johnson. We listened to it.
- 1:18:38We cannot play it for you because ESPN will take it down, but like,
- 1:18:41we listened to it. He was making very good like that realistically
- 1:18:45we're talking about a very one-sided— this Protect College Sports
- 1:18:49Act is protect the people who want the money in sports, you know,
- 1:18:52the NCAA itself. So basically the— just so we're all clear,
- 1:18:56the Protect College Sports Act very much limits the amount of money that goes to
- 1:18:59the players, the players that are generating literally everything. Tonya,
- 1:19:03I'm going to ask you a couple of questions and they're one-answer questions.
- 1:19:07Does it limit the amount that coaches get? No. Universities get?
- 1:19:10No. Television networks get? No. Streaming services get?
- 1:19:13No. Is there anyone that is limited in the money
- 1:19:17that they get outside of the workforce? No.
- 1:19:20Thank you. This is fucking like cartoonish,
- 1:19:25like swashbuckling, mustachey, fucking evil
- 1:19:29bullshit. This is fucking insane that this
- 1:19:33is even a goddamn conversation. This is a man that is tying a helpless
- 1:19:37woman to a fucking train track. And you
- 1:19:41are saying this is great. This is— fuck,
- 1:19:45fuck. By the way, your reaction is,
- 1:19:50is very reminiscent of a lot of the reaction I got.
- 1:19:53So I did a 7.5-minute piece on this for my Substack,
- 1:19:56and a lot of people were like, this— for them,
- 1:19:59this was like the final straw with ESPN, which was like,
- 1:20:04because nobody like owes anybody to like— listen, if you want to throw— but like
- 1:20:07a lot of people were like, I, I'm canceling cancelling my fucking subscription. Like,
- 1:20:10they're over it. And so you sort of having this like level
- 1:20:14of extreme reaction to it on the show, to me, is just like validating so
- 1:20:18much of what I was seeing in the comments from people, which was like,
- 1:20:21I have been trying so hard to just like separate myself from some of
- 1:20:25the bullshit on ESPN, and then for them to do something this blatantly supervillain—
- 1:20:29it's just supervillain evil shit. Like, this is,
- 1:20:32this is so fucking This
- 1:20:36is like cartoony fucking evil.
- 1:20:40Like, I, I'm like, I'm— I— did anyone learn
- 1:20:44right from wrong? Did anyone learn this as a child? No. Like,
- 1:20:48this is fucking insane. Like, it's not even a question,
- 1:20:52and it's so clear on the color of the workforce to the
- 1:20:56color of the people that are employing the workforce. Like, it's like fucking
- 1:21:00Frightening how fucking ugly this is. You're driving Chance to
- 1:21:04drink. Chance, hell on earth. You and me both. Get a beveled
- 1:21:08glass, it's easier to hold on to. So before
- 1:21:12we wrap up Media Corner, we'll lighten it up a little bit. Good fucking
- 1:21:16luck. No, this shit's so funny. Bring it.
- 1:21:19Okay, so, uh, Drew Brees was getting a shit ton of
- 1:21:22flack this week for his, um,
- 1:21:25really bad call of the Bears game. Like, well, did he get
- 1:21:29In the middle, in the middle of Caleb Williams absolutely balling
- 1:21:33out, him and Adam Amin were talking shit about Caleb Williams not checking down
- 1:21:37enough and having too low of a completion percentage. Then not only while
- 1:21:40they're saying it, while they're saying it, okay, Drew Brees
- 1:21:45is saying this, they're going back and forth. Caleb checks
- 1:21:49down to get to 70% completion percentage in
- 1:21:52the game. Like, it was so embarrassing they had to call themselves out on it.
- 1:21:55Drew Brees is a constant hater. He's really, really boring. And meanwhile,
- 1:21:58on the flip side, we have Tom Brady absolutely crushing it on the
- 1:22:02Eagles podcast, on the Eagles broadcast. He did great. He was like— people are
- 1:22:05loving Tom Brady. He's really complimentary of quarterbacks. That being said,
- 1:22:09he's creepy as shit with everything else, but weirdly he
- 1:22:13was really great. So here's the thing. I think Drew knows he's
- 1:22:16the lame-ass of the group and always has been. Um, he's always
- 1:22:20played like 4th fiddle to Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:22:24And like, it was Brady and Manning for a long time, then Aaron Rodgers came
- 1:22:27in and he was like, oh, now I'm not even third, like, fuck, right?
- 1:22:30So he's been playing fourth fiddle for a minute and he decides to—
- 1:22:34so Adam Schefter— I'm so sorry— Adam Schefter
- 1:22:38reports over the weekend that last year Drew Brees
- 1:22:42was like considering a comeback to fill in. He was going to come
- 1:22:46back and play the game for Bo Nix in the AFC Championship Game. I will
- 1:22:49admit I heard this in a couple places too. Okay, so people whispered this to
- 1:22:52me. So he said this, right? So everybody says—
- 1:22:57calls Adam Schefter a fucking clown. They're like, there's no way, right? And then,
- 1:23:00then they show Drew Brees having said— what you heard was probably Drew Brees said
- 1:23:04it on a podcast like a while back, that he had been like in like
- 1:23:07conversation kind of, and then he started throwing the ball and it was like very
- 1:23:10clear he couldn't actually do it, right? Um, and then everybody
- 1:23:15called Adam Schefter a clown. Sean Payton says he never
- 1:23:19fucking had a say. He never heard anything about this. This was never a real
- 1:23:22plan. Sean Payton's like, I don't know. I didn't hear anything about this.
- 1:23:26And then Adam Schefter gets on Air Day and he's like scoffing
- 1:23:31at everybody who's telling— he's like, it's— that's what happened. Like, that's a real— that's
- 1:23:35a real report. So Adam Schefter and Drew Brees, who are 2
- 1:23:40people who combine for maybe the world's greatest charisma vacuum,
- 1:23:44that exists. Yeah. Are out here trying to convince us
- 1:23:48of this thing that they— the only reason you ever heard about it
- 1:23:52was because Drew Brees talked about it on a podcast. Yeah. Adam Schefter
- 1:23:56keeps trying to sell it. And Sean Payton, who by all accounts
- 1:24:00should have a decent relationship with the quarterback that he fucking coached for 15
- 1:24:04years, is like, that didn't happen. And I just love how
- 1:24:08lame, how How, how birds of a lame
- 1:24:12feather flock together in such a beautiful way.
- 1:24:15It's just gorgeous. Oh, just kidding. Just kidding.
- 1:24:19Here's the honest to God thing.
- 1:24:22Do you know how fucking awful you have to be for
- 1:24:26me, me to take Sean
- 1:24:30Payton's side on it? Like fucking anything.
- 1:24:33And like, I'm not even taking his side. I just like, I believe him.
- 1:24:36I believe him too. I dislike Sean Payton. So much
- 1:24:39that I inadvertently hate every season of King
- 1:24:43of Queens. I fucking hate Sean Payton.
- 1:24:46I've met Sean Payton, met him with his daughter. His daughter was
- 1:24:50lovely, but weirdly, I inadvertently hate her too because
- 1:24:54she's associated with Sean Payton. That's how I am with Urban Meyer. I fucking hate
- 1:24:58you so much, Sean Payton. Yeah, yet somehow in this story,
- 1:25:03you're coming out to be the good guy. Because of the other people
- 1:25:07that are involved. Yeah, I can't believe Mr. Editor isn't
- 1:25:10involved too, but I just always assume Mr. Editor is at
- 1:25:14all times. I just think it's so funny that he went out on a limb
- 1:25:17to push this clearly fake story. What a fucking hill to die on.
- 1:25:20He went out on a limb to push this fake story for Drew Brees.
- 1:25:24Nobody believes him or Drew Brees. Now he's out there fucking like,
- 1:25:28you know, trying to defend it. Everybody's already mad at Drew Brees for being a
- 1:25:33passive-aggressive salty old man And being boring as fuck
- 1:25:37on top of it. He is boring. And meanwhile, golden boy Seven Rings
- 1:25:40is like, Jalen Hurts fucking rules, and everybody loves
- 1:25:44him again. The Tom Brady redemption tour is purely because he's
- 1:25:48just doing okay and like just saying normal shit on a podcast. He's just not
- 1:25:52being a dick. He's getting all this fucking weird plastic surgery
- 1:25:55and his hairline just won't stop going forward. The best thing about Tom Brady,
- 1:25:59the worst The thing about Tom Brady is the worst he ever gets in— when
- 1:26:03he's in his critique or analysis mode, sometimes he gets nitpicky, like very Belichickian,
- 1:26:07and like he's like, why didn't you think of this thing that only like me
- 1:26:10and Bill Belichick would ever think of? You're like, all right, fucking relax, you know?
- 1:26:13Yeah, you're that good. Good. But like, I'm glad you saw it. But he also
- 1:26:15doesn't have any insecurity about himself as a football player, so he
- 1:26:19doesn't do that old man salty thing. Whereas Drew Brees
- 1:26:23has one ring, no MVPs, he has a bunch of— he has
- 1:26:27like insecurity, and he clearly has all of these issues. And Tom
- 1:26:30Brady's like the golden boy who he never lived up to.
- 1:26:34And it like literally comes through in their broadcasting and it makes me laugh so
- 1:26:38fucking hard. It is. It's, it's very good. It's very good.
- 1:26:41It's also very good that Adam Schefter, who, you know,
- 1:26:44worships Tom Brady as a Michigan quarterback,
- 1:26:47definitely just has to settle for Drew Brees like a sidekick. Too bad.
- 1:26:51Very good shit. Too bad. Very good stuff. Should have picked a better
- 1:26:54Mr. Editor. I love that for 2 people I don't like because I don't like
- 1:26:58Drew Brees and I definitely don't like Adam Sandler. Well, we should end— we should
- 1:27:01end really quickly, but we should at least mention the Emmys. It was on the
- 1:27:05rundown. They were last night. Uh, uh, listen,
- 1:27:08uh, John Mulaney was the highlight. Sure. I thought
- 1:27:13Mariska did a good job. I thought she did a good job too. I liked
- 1:27:16that it was switched up from a comedian. Like, I just thought it was a
- 1:27:18cool— yeah, it was fine. I thought it was a little bit more— it hearkened
- 1:27:21back to like a more old school vibe. But like, uh, you know, it's just
- 1:27:25I will say what it did positively. It, it made me start watching
- 1:27:29Widow's Bay today. Yes. And I'm watching— which you should. Amazing. I'm watching
- 1:27:33Widow's Bay. Like, I understand why it had so much love. I like— I think
- 1:27:36the Emmys are always really funny because they're always like, what new show is like
- 1:27:39gonna— like, they don't— they rarely reward like consistency.
- 1:27:43They're always like, what's new and fucking awesome? Well, actually, uh, but Mariska
- 1:27:47Hargitay said a great joke about that. Did she? Yeah, she was talking about about
- 1:27:51like, I have won— I won an Emmy my first time, I can't believe it,
- 1:27:54it was 22 years ago playing this role on, on SVU,
- 1:27:58and I have won a number of Emmys since then. That number is zero.
- 1:28:01Yeah, I did. And I thought that was funny. It was a good joke.
- 1:28:04And that there's that consistency you're talking about, right? And also, I mean,
- 1:28:08on the flip side, Jean Smart won again for Hacks, and she's
- 1:28:11like— to me, that's like one of those performances that did wonderful, that did deserve—
- 1:28:15I stopped after season
- 1:28:20season 2. Why would you do that? Uh, because I found, um, I, I have
- 1:28:22my reasons. Not Hannah Einbinder?
- 1:28:26Not her herself, no, no, no. You gotta— she was great.
- 1:28:29She's great. No, Cody, she's great. You've made a mistake. I don't think I did.
- 1:28:33No, you made a mistake. That's— Cody, I know you.
- 1:28:36You made a mistake. You need to keep watching that show, okay?
- 1:28:39You've made a huge mistake. Were you
- 1:28:43going through something in your life at the time? Because that happens with me with
- 1:28:46shows sometimes. Hacks is a perfect fucking show.
- 1:28:50I will say their second to last season was a little tough to get through,
- 1:28:53but like the final season was so fucking good. It's— you gotta do it,
- 1:28:56dude. You, you cannot— Jean Smart is,
- 1:29:00is worth it. You need to do it for— I agree with that. You got
- 1:29:03to do it for Jean. Um, you're gonna love Widow's Bay, which I know you
- 1:29:06already like. Here's the thing, um, I— the show
- 1:29:09is about is about a topic that I think is patently
- 1:29:13fucking stupid. And it's this endless worship of
- 1:29:18comedians and their prowess of intelligence that
- 1:29:22I firmly believe, because I know every comedian you, you love and
- 1:29:26know, I know them personally. They're not intelligent.
- 1:29:30And that's in reference to what? It's just how the show
- 1:29:34portrays it. Her character, which is accurate—
- 1:29:38not, not, not the, uh, not, not, not Smart, uh, that— what's the young— what's
- 1:29:42the younger one? She's phenomenal in the part. Hannah Einbinder. Yeah, she's great in the
- 1:29:46part. Oh yeah. Uh, I just find her character— not her,
- 1:29:49she plays it phenomenally because that's what the point is, right? To be so
- 1:29:53insufferable that I can't handle the character that's
- 1:29:58on the show. And that also leaks into Jeannie Smart as well. There's a writing
- 1:30:01about it that is a very pompous things that put— that
- 1:30:05plateaus comedians in a way that I don't like. I think you're being sexist.
- 1:30:09No, it has nothing to do with female comedians. I apologize for that.
- 1:30:13That has to do with comedians in general.
- 1:30:17Because I'll give you an example. Yeah, The Marvelous
- 1:30:22Mrs. Maisel, I think, is, is just— this is a better show than Maisel.
- 1:30:24Really? Really? I, man, I love Maisel.
- 1:30:28Maisel was awesome. Stand-up comedy was amazing. I loved it. But also, you're talking about
- 1:30:32like 1960s woman comedy, and like, there is a part of that that's amazing.
- 1:30:36Show is good. It's just— it's— yeah,
- 1:30:39she's— she— her being unlikable and like annoying is part— is— no,
- 1:30:43no, no, no, no, I agree. She's fantastic in the role.
- 1:30:47It's not about that.
- 1:30:50Listen, I— you're allowed to like me. Like, I'm not judging. How about this?
- 1:30:53I've been around— I've been around a lot of comedians and people that
- 1:30:57pretended that they were for a living, and, and it's just— I can't
- 1:31:01stress enough, I hate them. That's— and that's totally fine. I just
- 1:31:06know you and you would like this show. I did the first 2 seasons.
- 1:31:10You just— you're just being a brat. And I do think— I do think that
- 1:31:14you might have been in a specific headspace by the end of season 2 that
- 1:31:17might not have anything to do with the show. Either way, if you never watch
- 1:31:20it, um, what I would recommend 100% is Widow's Bay. I also think,
- 1:31:24um, if you are on the Matthew Rhys kick,
- 1:31:27Beast in Me is actually really good. I've— I've— The Beast in Me is actually
- 1:31:30really good. Claire Danes doing full Claire Danes. I'm a big fan.
- 1:31:33To listen. These are like— I gotta get into— I've started Widow's Bay.
- 1:31:37Okay. But most importantly tonight, catching up with the most recent episode. You haven't
- 1:31:41watched the most recent Lanterns? It's fucking insane. I know, I heard. What the fuck?
- 1:31:45I'm so excited. What have you been doing? Stuff.
- 1:31:49Well, you haven't been fixing our fucking issues with our— like, really? Because you're
- 1:31:53watching me and Mocha do it. No, you should have been doing it all week.
- 1:31:57I did. I thought I did do it. I reset the the internet. I literally
- 1:32:01bought a new internet package. I reset that goddamn system 4
- 1:32:05times. Everything said it was working.
- 1:32:08So you didn't do that and you didn't watch Lanterns, and here
- 1:32:11we are on Tuesday. You had all this time and all you did
- 1:32:15was form enough of a fucking opinion about Widow's
- 1:32:19Bay. Thank you, I appreciate that. Well done.
- 1:32:23You know what? No, I'm just kidding. I, I do appreciate how hard you tried.
- 1:32:26That did not It's too late.
- 1:32:29It's too late. Listen, at the end of the day, it's dark out now.
- 1:32:32We come together. It's dark. We come together. We cling our glasses together
