- 0:02Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:11Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. Fred. I can't wait till the next time
- 0:16Speaker 1: you're not here because I'm not hosting. But it doesn't
- 0:18Speaker 1: have to be. It is because I told you yesterday,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and I don't like it when you make me repeat myself.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I said, do you read music? Yeah, I said, because
- 0:26Speaker 1: I know you paint my number. I know I caught that.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I ignored him. You're the laziest person I've ever known.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So Melia's yes, have told me you smell the cork.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I don't know. Ever said that the debris from the
- 0:39Speaker 1: shipwreck is floating. That's flawsome. That's not correct. It is correct.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I'm never bored. Ever. You think I'm screwing things up
- 0:46Speaker 1: for you, Just tell me you you've been screwing things
- 0:48Speaker 1: up for me for twelve years. Buddy. Your idiocy knows
- 0:51Speaker 1: no bounce. I just don't understand how people can be bored.
- 0:53Speaker 1: There's a million things in life to do. You cannot
- 0:55Speaker 1: be bored. It's not football. I hate, it's people. Oh, Eric, honey,
- 1:00Speaker 1: let me tell you it's possible to be for We've
- 1:02Speaker 1: been listening to you for all these years. Why do
- 1:04Speaker 1: you mock charity? What? Why do you you're a bad person?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Or he's going around the world doing good things? What
- 1:10Speaker 1: a bad man? It wouldn't be the show if Eric
- 1:13Speaker 1: didn't scold someone. Everything's coming up, Eric, This is Patriot's
- 1:17Speaker 1: Unfiltered fueled by Dunking Good opening, Matt Good opening to
- 1:26Speaker 1: everyone closing. Yeah, so an end of an Eric end.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I would have tweeted that up. You can do it later,
- 1:36Speaker 1: yea Eric's last show. What's your takeaway from listening to
- 1:39Speaker 1: that opening? Induce? I mean, Eric had a wonderful character
- 1:44Speaker 1: on this show. I don't think it was truly appreciated.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Everything that yeah, well, the I mean he kind of
- 1:48Speaker 1: plays a character a lot of I mean, I think
- 1:50Speaker 1: we all play characters. Myself, there was a lot of
- 1:52Speaker 1: rageing well. I think, like, like you take the who
- 1:55Speaker 1: you really are and it gets expanded out into a
- 1:57Speaker 1: little bit of a character over the time, and and
- 2:00Speaker 1: you know, I think it's maybe a little bit underappreciated
- 2:03Speaker 1: what Eric brings of of you know, his his whole character,
- 2:06Speaker 1: you know, everything he is. I hear what you're saying
- 2:08Speaker 1: to us, and I expect you to appreciate it more
- 2:12Speaker 1: so than the average person, because in Hollywood it was
- 2:15Speaker 1: all about character development. Sure, you know it. Character And
- 2:19Speaker 1: if if you look at the show that we talk
- 2:21Speaker 1: about most on this, you know, Seinfeld, in the beginning years,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it wasn't as good because the characters weren't as developed.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And over time the writers realize, Okay, we got something here,
- 2:32Speaker 1: let's build on that. Let's build them that like I
- 2:34Speaker 1: did with you. Yeah, well that's like, you know, certain
- 2:38Speaker 1: things would happen and I, you know, I would see
- 2:40Speaker 1: Fred's eyes light up and he would see an opportunity
- 2:42Speaker 1: to take the show down a road where he could
- 2:45Speaker 1: need that experience. And Eric would have the great kind
- 2:49Speaker 1: of you know, get upset, but do it in a
- 2:51Speaker 1: way that was entertaining it, you know, and we I mean,
- 2:54Speaker 1: how many times does it evolve into that or you know,
- 2:56Speaker 1: Eric is at background except for the day he walked out. Well,
- 3:00Speaker 1: there were times in the beginning when I did take
- 3:02Speaker 1: it seriously and I would get mad and I would
- 3:04Speaker 1: I would literally go, yeah, he would take off the headphones,
- 3:08Speaker 1: push the mic away, thus hump. But that's why that's
- 3:12Speaker 1: why it's a good That's why it's a good show.
- 3:14Speaker 1: He's a good character. I mean, people know whose scal is,
- 3:16Speaker 1: what his point of view? We asked you because you've
- 3:19Speaker 1: only been here for a few years, Yeah to marry
- 3:21Speaker 1: you've been here even less. Ye are you guys like
- 3:25Speaker 1: it all surprised that he like that. I mean, this
- 3:27Speaker 1: is his boss. He's talking to this way like Ray,
- 3:29Speaker 1: did he last sixteen a minute? When we put together
- 3:32Speaker 1: a Paul Piollo tribute? There as many of those, my friend,
- 3:37Speaker 1: that won't be suitable for my friend all audiences. Eric
- 3:40Speaker 1: was mild compared to what Andy's Oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I mean you know, come on, yeah he f bombed you,
- 3:46Speaker 1: oh yeah during the more than once. Right, Well, it
- 3:49Speaker 1: all changes when you get upstairs and then friends in
- 3:51Speaker 1: his office and then you have to like talk to
- 3:53Speaker 1: boss Frad. But that's but that's I mean, you couldn't
- 3:56Speaker 1: do a radio show if you didn't allow them to
- 3:58Speaker 1: be able to push back on you and at you.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And I'm just curious, like, you know, like you two
- 4:03Speaker 1: are the two newest members of the programs the program
- 4:08Speaker 1: and just wondering, you know, like I can never see
- 4:11Speaker 1: myself talking like that to him. No, no, give it twelve,
- 4:16Speaker 1: give it twelve to sixteen years and you're will I
- 4:18Speaker 1: believe me when I see friend's eyes light up and
- 4:20Speaker 1: he's like, Eric, what do we got on today? You
- 4:22Speaker 1: know those kind of things, wearing a what was the
- 4:26Speaker 1: phrase you used about the reading music painting by numbers? Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 1: that was good. That was gold. That was comedy gold
- 4:34Speaker 1: right there. It's but it's all for the good of
- 4:37Speaker 1: the show and for the good of our listeners. It's
- 4:39Speaker 1: been father. I didn't know. I didn't realize Eric was
- 4:43Speaker 1: such a Star Wars fan. So we've had lots of
- 4:45Speaker 1: great Star Wars conversations up state times. You know, we
- 4:49Speaker 1: grew were I mean, we're pretty close in age, so
- 4:50Speaker 1: I think we have a lot of similar memories of
- 4:53Speaker 1: the Patriots growing up and being a fan around here
- 4:56Speaker 1: and those kind of things. So suffering with the Patriots.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But I'm gonna miss you. I'm miss you, man. You
- 5:01Speaker 1: still got me tomorrow too, I'll be around. It's my day. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 1: I have to march you out. That gets set up,
- 5:08Speaker 1: It did, yes, all right, listen, there's a little something
- 5:11Speaker 1: extra for you if you keep me out envelopes, A
- 5:13Speaker 1: little light there was a little light today. Let's say,
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'm just saying I was not surprised at all to
- 5:19Speaker 1: find out Eric's favorite Star Wars character is C three
- 5:21Speaker 1: Poe who said that that makes a lot of sense. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: who see that? That's one of those things that fact fact. Yes,
- 5:30Speaker 1: No it's not. No, it's not like he really pronounced
- 5:32Speaker 1: his name Skalabano. No. I did like the Don Skalavano
- 5:36Speaker 1: reference on Twitter today. Yeah, yeah, Don Skalavno, we're gonna
- 5:40Speaker 1: miss him. You probably didn't see it because you probably
- 5:42Speaker 1: dropped him. It's very likely. All right. Would you judge
- 5:46Speaker 1: me if I've said I've never seen Star Wars? Yes,
- 5:50Speaker 1: oh you should. I would judge tomorrow. I wouldn't leave
- 5:53Speaker 1: any of the stars. I would say that you're being stubborn.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Why do you have no interest? Never seen it? Like?
- 5:59Speaker 1: No interesting? Never seen it? Harry Potter? You've never seen
- 6:02Speaker 1: Harry Potter. So you're into more serious stuff? Do you like?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Do you like? I've seen I've seen the original? Like,
- 6:12Speaker 1: what kind of movies? If not those? What's that one? Now?
- 6:15Speaker 1: My favorite movie is The Dark Knight. Oh see that
- 6:18Speaker 1: we can relate. Okay, that's that's that's good by the way,
- 6:23Speaker 1: Dark Knight Rises is my favorite of those. I like that. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 1: I like Baine, I like that. I love seeing hinz
- 6:30Speaker 1: Field to getting its its movie. Yeah, so I I
- 6:34Speaker 1: like The Dark Knight. So, not to take away from Eric,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but like, what drew you to Dark Knight that didn't
- 6:43Speaker 1: you know, draw you to you know, Star Wars or
- 6:47Speaker 1: Harry you know, other fantasy type movies. I don't know,
- 6:51Speaker 1: to be honest, I really I guess just from knowing
- 6:54Speaker 1: Batman my entire life, it was just like great to
- 6:57Speaker 1: see you know Batman, I know the bat Um So
- 7:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I really like The Avengers. I like
- 7:06Speaker 1: Marvel movies. Now you're talking to Matt Morrell, say, I
- 7:08Speaker 1: agree with Fred. Now, Like, if you just said you
- 7:10Speaker 1: weren't really interested in all that, I would get it. Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 1: it seems like you're interested in most of it, but
- 7:14Speaker 1: for some reason not not those Potter. Maybe it's like
- 7:18Speaker 1: the science fiction fantasy part of it that you're not
- 7:21Speaker 1: into comic books. She hates C three superhero so you
- 7:26Speaker 1: weren't like it to Star Trek No, right, right, that
- 7:30Speaker 1: makes sense. I never got into Star Trek either. I
- 7:32Speaker 1: mean there is some weird crossover. I feel like with
- 7:35Speaker 1: science fiction where some people are I mean, I mean,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I know Star Wars and Star Trek or kind of
- 7:39Speaker 1: this or that. I don't know a lot of people
- 7:40Speaker 1: that maybe morel Do you love both those equally? Oh?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Here he's moving, he showing he's got a Star Trek.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Thank you. I like it all. I like it all.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So no Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings either no, no, see, yeah,
- 7:54Speaker 1: the fantasy in any of it, right, Harry Potter, Lord
- 7:56Speaker 1: of the Ring creatures, none of them. There's a fantasy
- 7:58Speaker 1: aspect of the comic books though. Yeah, that's true. You
- 8:01Speaker 1: know those those worlds, Oh they're all yeah, like Guardians
- 8:05Speaker 1: of the Galaxy, like, yeah, you like those? I do? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 1: I love Group. That's a little Tree character, right, well
- 8:12Speaker 1: he was big Tree character first. Well, I like the
- 8:15Speaker 1: little one like Baby Group, like Baby Yo. You'd like
- 8:18Speaker 1: Baby Yoda then yeah? Yeah, but how do you know
- 8:21Speaker 1: Baby Yoda? If you don't know Yoda? I'm saying, if
- 8:24Speaker 1: she likes if she got to watch Star Wars, where
- 8:26Speaker 1: would you even start? Now? Would you start like episode one? Yeah? Yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 1: that's a great question. Fred I would say no. If
- 8:32Speaker 1: you had someone like Tamara, who's never seen any of them.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Were there nine? Yes? Noine, well nine of Star Wars,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and then there were a couple offshoots like Forget, like
- 8:41Speaker 1: the Mandalorian and all No, no no, No. There were a
- 8:42Speaker 1: couple of movies like Rogue One. Because I have no
- 8:45Speaker 1: interest doesn't mean I don't play I mean throw the Mandalorian.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I would still watch them in the order that they
- 8:52Speaker 1: were released. That I agree, Matt Morrel, You agree, agree,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you'd start with them in correct, a new hope you
- 8:58Speaker 1: really start with yeah, and then you would you go four, three,
- 9:05Speaker 1: eight nine, you know you can lease seven, eight nine
- 9:07Speaker 1: some of us which they were released four or five six.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I would have gotten that because those three were when
- 9:14Speaker 1: I was reasonably young, and those were the best of
- 9:17Speaker 1: the the whole saga. Those three were the best. Just
- 9:20Speaker 1: watch those you'll be good. Original the originals. Yeah, he
- 9:22Speaker 1: got in five and six, see I I people disagree
- 9:26Speaker 1: with me, but I like the last I like three,
- 9:30Speaker 1: which was actually six. Yeah, the last one released in
- 9:33Speaker 1: the six Yes, when Obi Wan Kenobi and can fight
- 9:38Speaker 1: it out. I thought that was the darkest, and I
- 9:41Speaker 1: thought it was and I thought it was the best.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It was the best of those of that trilogy. Yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: I thought overall it was the best. Now I can't
- 9:48Speaker 1: get over just because I saw it when I was
- 9:51Speaker 1: a teenager, you know, you guy, and when it was
- 9:54Speaker 1: in the movies and I had no idea what I
- 9:56Speaker 1: was going to see. There was a space movie and
- 10:00Speaker 1: that first scene when the cruiser comes over and it
- 10:03Speaker 1: just keeps coming and I'm like, whole, I'm in for
- 10:06Speaker 1: something I've never seen before visually. Yeah you were, hey boss,
- 10:09Speaker 1: you no, And then see that just the whole adventure
- 10:16Speaker 1: and you know, silliness of it and you just got
- 10:19Speaker 1: you really get swept away by the whole thing, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: so I was hooked. You know what's in that? You
- 10:23Speaker 1: know what's a great uh tribute to that whole era
- 10:27Speaker 1: was have you ever seen Argo? Yeah? Yeah, where they
- 10:30Speaker 1: where they have to create the thing to try to
- 10:31Speaker 1: get the hostages and they create this like it's clearly
- 10:35Speaker 1: a Star Wars rip off movie that they're trying to
- 10:37Speaker 1: sell to the Uranians to get them to go and
- 10:39Speaker 1: do site location right stuff. It's so funny because they've
- 10:42Speaker 1: got the robot that I've seen Argos benefle Argo yourself. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: Beard and the and the Fleck. Yeah, the Benefleck is
- 10:52Speaker 1: how he calls it, the Benefleck. It's the then. But
- 10:58Speaker 1: I think same thing, like that Star Wars movie be awesome,
- 11:01Speaker 1: undebatable at Saint Black, Dark Knight awesome, so good. Often
- 11:05Speaker 1: on this show I play, you know, therapists, psychiatrist. So
- 11:09Speaker 1: how does that make you feel? I want to get
- 11:12Speaker 1: into this a little bit. I find that your reluctance
- 11:15Speaker 1: to watch movies like Harry part A, Star Wars, which
- 11:19Speaker 1: are total hay, you know, fantasy. It's part of your
- 11:24Speaker 1: guarded personality. Oh on the couch, Yeah, this is I
- 11:29Speaker 1: am very guarded for sure. Yes you are. I'm a
- 11:32Speaker 1: very I believe in like zodiacs and horoscopes, like I'm
- 11:36Speaker 1: big on it. So Capricorn, I'm a Capricorn. Oh me too.
- 11:39Speaker 1: What's what's our horoscope? Since I'm leaving tomorrow, what's the future?
- 11:42Speaker 1: Oh my god, I don't know. I don't know that
- 11:45Speaker 1: you put me on the spot. But god, are you?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Are you in December Capricorn or January? Okay, so we're
- 11:54Speaker 1: different with the same You're the end of December. Yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I'm December. Why does that Why does that make a difference?
- 11:59Speaker 1: It's different. My mom is a January Capricorn, and we're
- 12:02Speaker 1: the same, but we're not the same. It's different. It's different.
- 12:06Speaker 1: You're into the well, if you go by astrology, it's
- 12:09Speaker 1: you know, it all has to do with the time
- 12:11Speaker 1: of the year, even within a month, you know, so
- 12:14Speaker 1: like within within a certain you know day. Yeah, it
- 12:18Speaker 1: can be different from beginning to the end of the month.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So how are we different? Then you have more power
- 12:24Speaker 1: towards the end of a left. Am I less guarded
- 12:26Speaker 1: than you are? Is that part of you? I think
- 12:28Speaker 1: the stubbornness and the and being guarded, Like, we're definitely
- 12:32Speaker 1: still the same on that. But I think that I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: more type A than my mom is. Like I think
- 12:37Speaker 1: that I'm more like structured and organized than she is.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I like to call her like organized chaos, Like she's
- 12:42Speaker 1: very organized, but can be very chaotic as well. Um,
- 12:45Speaker 1: and so I what, I was also supposed to be
- 12:49Speaker 1: born on her birthday too. I was born two weeks early,
- 12:51Speaker 1: so we're supposed to have the same birthday. I was
- 12:53Speaker 1: born two weeks late. I was supposed to be born
- 12:54Speaker 1: Christmas Day. That's so scary, We're all I'm gonna come
- 13:00Speaker 1: in there moreau wait, we've got to get January sixth.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm not surprised at all that Eric believes he was
- 13:06Speaker 1: supposed to be that was my way. I am not
- 13:13Speaker 1: surprised like he was supposed that. Eric. Ever, my mother's
- 13:19Speaker 1: original day date was December scented her ever since. Okay,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but you guys know that my birthday is December twenty five. Yes, yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 1: there it is. It would have been exactly jealous, would
- 13:30Speaker 1: have been exactly jealous. That is something I was born
- 13:33Speaker 1: about thirty years apart. Right. I was born on the
- 13:36Speaker 1: twelfth day of Christmas. But I do think that when
- 13:40Speaker 1: someone's birthday Turtle legs enough pump post. I think when
- 13:46Speaker 1: I know someone's birthday, I like instantly go and like
- 13:49Speaker 1: look them up, which I'm going to go look up
- 13:50Speaker 1: your birth do it now so I know what to
- 13:52Speaker 1: expect it. So it's like taking a personality test at work.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think it's important to me. She's just exactly months
- 14:00Speaker 1: from your birthday, half a year, half year. So you're
- 14:04Speaker 1: June and one of my best friends is June twenty
- 14:07Speaker 1: fifth as well, Doyle, he is as well, that's right.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And my birthday is the same day as Bill Belichick's
- 14:13Speaker 1: so what does that mean? And he keeps a database,
- 14:17Speaker 1: explains a lot. It explains you're a bad point out.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'll stop on our on our next Like there needs
- 14:27Speaker 1: to be like a newsletter with everyone. Well we do
- 14:28Speaker 1: get one with everyone's birthday. I just need to start
- 14:30Speaker 1: googling people and I'll learn so much April sixteenth, baby, Yeah,
- 14:35Speaker 1: it's just I'm I don't know. Now you have me
- 14:37Speaker 1: thinking because maybe I don't watch that because I'm guarded.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yeah you're afraid to let go. But okay, so really
- 14:44Speaker 1: getting okay? So what does it say about me that
- 14:50Speaker 1: the types of TV shows I like to watch are
- 14:52Speaker 1: all crime related? Like I had a have a dark sigh,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I had a like therapist type of figure. You're at
- 15:00Speaker 1: a conference, tell me, like, how do you come home
- 15:02Speaker 1: and relax by watching crime television? Like you come home
- 15:06Speaker 1: and you watch law Lawn Order, SPU, Like, how is
- 15:08Speaker 1: that relaxing to you? You? And you and my wife
- 15:11Speaker 1: exactly the same. And my wife as well, Yeah, might
- 15:14Speaker 1: watch them all day. Yeah if she had nothing to do,
- 15:17Speaker 1: like on a rainy or snowstorm or something, because you
- 15:20Speaker 1: can there's a law an order on. Oh yeah, yet
- 15:23Speaker 1: never sets on the Lawn Order. But my wife beyond that,
- 15:29Speaker 1: like she watches this other show called Snapped. It's true
- 15:33Speaker 1: life documentaries about people who just snap. I haven't sealed everybody. Yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I haven't seen Scared me if my wife was watching that,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but I heard, oh yeah, are watching my woman? Who
- 15:43Speaker 1: I just I just it's so relaxing to my wife
- 15:47Speaker 1: that she'll literally go to sleep with headphones in listening
- 15:50Speaker 1: to Law and Order really like How to Kill Like,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I don't know how she does that. I can't do that.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I think she liked that too, How to Get Away
- 15:57Speaker 1: with Murder Yet watch that too, So that's a good show. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: watching all that. I gotta give a plug right now
- 16:04Speaker 1: for the Staircase documentary on Netflix. You know, there's a
- 16:08Speaker 1: drama version of it. That's I think they've probably released
- 16:10Speaker 1: a couple more episodes, but we tacked because they let
- 16:13Speaker 1: three episodes out and they already have a full documentary
- 16:15Speaker 1: that's thirteen episodes of the real thing. So me and
- 16:18Speaker 1: Lane are like so engrossed in it right now because
- 16:21Speaker 1: it's you know, usually like like those Lawn Order shows,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you're like, well, this is interesting, but someone made this up,
- 16:26Speaker 1: Like someone made this up and it's all gonna work
- 16:28Speaker 1: out in the end. But maybe. Yeah, but like when
- 16:33Speaker 1: it's real and you're seeing the real crime scene photos
- 16:36Speaker 1: and the real autopsy photos and you really can't figure
- 16:39Speaker 1: out how exactly it happened. I mean the documentary on Netflix.
- 16:41Speaker 1: If you guys aren that thing, it's and I do.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It's awesome. I told you I watched those same episodes
- 16:46Speaker 1: that dooced it. I haven't seen the documentary one, but
- 16:49Speaker 1: that's part of the yo. Yeah, yeah, they have. They're
- 16:52Speaker 1: making the documentary. Camera crew comes in and they're part
- 16:55Speaker 1: of it. So but now we're like, we're watching the
- 16:57Speaker 1: doc we'll go back to the scripted one. But I
- 17:00Speaker 1: just find the real life things so much more interesting,
- 17:02Speaker 1: the real people doing it, the real lawyers and all that. Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 1: I got a great punt for that show too. Don't
- 17:09Speaker 1: say well, because then you go into like the problem
- 17:13Speaker 1: with the real crime is then you go into the
- 17:14Speaker 1: deep hole of Wikipedia and you're like, well, I can't
- 17:17Speaker 1: just sit and watch thirteen episodes. I got to know
- 17:19Speaker 1: exactly what happened, and you know this that case, though,
- 17:22Speaker 1: was still kind of ambiguous how how it all worked out.
- 17:24Speaker 1: But there's some things that come in later that I
- 17:27Speaker 1: mentioned Eric of course, and yeah, he punned it up.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It was It was perfect, wasn't it. For that was
- 17:33Speaker 1: really in three weeks watch it and then we'll tell you.
- 17:35Speaker 1: All right, Well, if you're wondering, like why we haven't
- 17:37Speaker 1: told not talking football yet, it is Eric Scalavino's last
- 17:41Speaker 1: day sixteen years. Uh so forgive us if we digress
- 17:47Speaker 1: for the next two hours. Really, what's going on in
- 17:49Speaker 1: the week, you know, Nick Saban, I do want to
- 17:56Speaker 1: get into that whole Ni l and Nick Saban and
- 17:59Speaker 1: Jimbo Frisher thing and I you know what Harry Partter
- 18:05Speaker 1: for sure. But in terms of the Patriots, um, not
- 18:08Speaker 1: much going on right now now. We talked about the coaches.
- 18:11Speaker 1: The assistant coaches spoke Monday and Tuesday, and we talked
- 18:14Speaker 1: about that a lot on the show on Tuesday. Not
- 18:16Speaker 1: really anything new, which I sure was completely by design. Um,
- 18:23Speaker 1: not a lot of new stuff. Um, you know, we
- 18:26Speaker 1: talked a little about Vince Wilfork as well. Mike had
- 18:28Speaker 1: mentioned that some of the coaches commented on on Vince.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I am, I didn't get a whole lot of wells. Yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and I thought, well, Vince's call that happened after the show.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I thought Vince's call was point blank and get any
- 18:40Speaker 1: point blanks That's what I was waiting for. H None, none,
- 18:43Speaker 1: but it was great. As usually they asked, oh, we know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: any plays to remember, guys are usually I don't know,
- 18:48Speaker 1: but he was specific on the Ravens in twenty eleven
- 18:52Speaker 1: in the playoff, like back to back third, fourth down,
- 18:55Speaker 1: and I know he didn't mention his his interceptions or
- 19:00Speaker 1: you know that hit on that Buffalo Bills guy coming
- 19:02Speaker 1: over the middle where he just like pushed landing on
- 19:04Speaker 1: him in the ground, but it went in Denver he
- 19:07Speaker 1: had like across the field. Yeah, yeah, um, but yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 1: he uh, but he was obviously very happy and and
- 19:13Speaker 1: I you can just tell the love he has for
- 19:15Speaker 1: New England and Patriot fans, and you know, getting to
- 19:18Speaker 1: play here, and I'm sure this summer it'll be it'll
- 19:21Speaker 1: be fun getting him back up here. Yeah. Yeah, golf. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: I'm watching John Daly. You know he's he has a
- 19:29Speaker 1: I mean, look at the size of him and the guy, God,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I haven't seen him forever, and the guy can still play.
- 19:34Speaker 1: They just showed like his approach shot on just me
- 19:37Speaker 1: hope it one one bounces off the stick and goes
- 19:40Speaker 1: within like three feet, Like it's amazing you have that
- 19:43Speaker 1: much ability? Yeah, yeah, play now. Yeah. Is he on
- 19:49Speaker 1: the tour? I'm not sure. I think he might have
- 19:52Speaker 1: just gotten on. Yeah yeah, but anyway, Um, John Daly's
- 19:57Speaker 1: minus one after fifteen Yeah, like wow, it's just amazing.
- 20:02Speaker 1: But otherwise I don't think there's much but I do
- 20:04Speaker 1: want to you know, it's related to football. But this morning,
- 20:07Speaker 1: I guess we're Nick Saban was on a panel and
- 20:11Speaker 1: really went off on Nils, not so much opposed to Nils,
- 20:15Speaker 1: but like what it's become. And you know, he's talked
- 20:18Speaker 1: about this collective that certain schools have where the money
- 20:22Speaker 1: is given to the players through a collective meaning boosters,
- 20:26Speaker 1: but the head coach is working in tandem, knowing how
- 20:29Speaker 1: much is available so he can promise a certain amount
- 20:32Speaker 1: at the time of recruitment. And you know so and
- 20:35Speaker 1: then accused AMM of paying for their whole team. A
- 20:39Speaker 1: and M had the number one rated recruiting class and
- 20:42Speaker 1: Saban said he paid for it right, and Jimbo Fisher
- 20:45Speaker 1: did not take too kindly to that. And it's a
- 20:48Speaker 1: great steel cage match going on. Yeah, with those two.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The one interesting thing I saw from this was that
- 20:55Speaker 1: now with the nil stuff, you know, they said the
- 20:57Speaker 1: SEC teams were able to kind of always get around
- 20:59Speaker 1: and the way you said, do you guys think that
- 21:01Speaker 1: like now this is gonna level the playing fields? I mean,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I know Deon Sanders is getting people down there. It's
- 21:06Speaker 1: gonna make it worse. Well yeah, I mean if what
- 21:09Speaker 1: Saban is saying is true, these boosters are now going
- 21:12Speaker 1: to have a place to really put their money to
- 21:14Speaker 1: make a difference. So it's all about what kind of
- 21:16Speaker 1: boosters you have at the school. So what's your booster
- 21:19Speaker 1: and what's your your local like even like what do
- 21:23Speaker 1: you think there's more higher likelihood of like a car dealership,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you know in Alabama being able to give a guy,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you know, lavish gifts or like one in Boston for
- 21:35Speaker 1: Boston College. Like the divide to me is going to
- 21:38Speaker 1: get bigger between the halves and the half right. So
- 21:41Speaker 1: basically what I think Saban was saying is he was
- 21:44Speaker 1: he was threatening nuclear war. He was saying, listen, if
- 21:48Speaker 1: this is the way it's going to be, you know, Okay,
- 21:52Speaker 1: but like Paul said, it's just gonna make the rich Richer. Yeah, yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 1: you know. And then and then I saw Dion Sanders
- 21:57Speaker 1: a couple days ago making the point of, you know,
- 21:59Speaker 1: all these kids now are making a bunch of money
- 22:01Speaker 1: and they don't really know how to manage it or
- 22:04Speaker 1: what to do. Is that going to lead to you know,
- 22:07Speaker 1: complications and problems for these kids now? Who I mean
- 22:10Speaker 1: maybe all along they've had money and things to do,
- 22:12Speaker 1: but I mean now it's not really secret anymore. They
- 22:16Speaker 1: know what they're making. And you know, is that is
- 22:18Speaker 1: that I mean, let's rather than say, okay, we got
- 22:23Speaker 1: to stop n als, let's see what happens, because right
- 22:26Speaker 1: now it's Alabama every year anyway in LSU and Georgia.
- 22:30Speaker 1: So if it continues to be that way, okay, and
- 22:33Speaker 1: they're getting paid, okay, Yeah, it's one of those things.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It was done. It was done wrong, you know, against
- 22:41Speaker 1: the players for so many years, right and now I
- 22:44Speaker 1: think it's been an overcorrection, and I think it's going
- 22:47Speaker 1: to look bad in about ten years if it's if
- 22:49Speaker 1: there's no regulation of this, let's see rules, you know,
- 22:53Speaker 1: we'll see. But I do think that the fact that
- 22:56Speaker 1: for so many years, the only people that benefited with
- 22:59Speaker 1: the schools was wrong, right, you know the way you
- 23:01Speaker 1: know the way it was. But I think this is
- 23:03Speaker 1: going to end up making because I like, yeah, what's
- 23:07Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, you know, the schools themselves, but
- 23:09Speaker 1: I like the idea of you know, they're being hope
- 23:15Speaker 1: for everyone, you know, and listening football, there's there's a
- 23:19Speaker 1: smaller amount of schools that compete anyway, there's only like
- 23:23Speaker 1: one hundred and ten Division one schools, but you know
- 23:25Speaker 1: FBS right, m and then maybe half of those are
- 23:31Speaker 1: dealing with the kind of money that you can compete
- 23:33Speaker 1: with in the first place. That's why you know the
- 23:36Speaker 1: Alabamas and the Ohio States and the Texas Clemson, That's
- 23:39Speaker 1: why the same schools are always there. But this, I
- 23:42Speaker 1: think is going to make the gap between say the
- 23:46Speaker 1: top of the SEC. Like let's say there's a huge
- 23:49Speaker 1: difference between Alabama and Georgia as an example in Vanderbilt
- 23:55Speaker 1: and you know some of those that gap is going
- 23:57Speaker 1: to get wider with this, right Arkansas's now like I'm
- 24:01Speaker 1: not even talking about like you know, the small you know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: the one double A schools, that's a whole different thing anyway,
- 24:06Speaker 1: But even within conferences, Ohio State is going to blow
- 24:11Speaker 1: away Northwestern. Yeah, they're in the same conference. You know,
- 24:15Speaker 1: they compete for the same do you hear that, Megan Same,
- 24:18Speaker 1: there's no way to think that those kinds of schools
- 24:21Speaker 1: are going to have the same kind of NIL money
- 24:23Speaker 1: available to compete. And I think it's going to get
- 24:26Speaker 1: the gap, that's going to get wider. Yeah, I mean
- 24:29Speaker 1: you just have to look at your donor base. What's
- 24:31Speaker 1: your donor base? And also mean everything, everything's bigger in Texas.
- 24:37Speaker 1: So like Jimbo Fisher, I mean, why did he leave
- 24:39Speaker 1: Florida State? Obviously because of the opportunity available at Texas
- 24:44Speaker 1: A and M. And so I think that, like you,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I get it, like he wants to point fingers at
- 24:49Speaker 1: NIL and what it's doing. But like then, also Jimbo
- 24:52Speaker 1: Fisher pointed at Dion Sanders and said that he paid
- 24:55Speaker 1: someone one million, not him himself, but like that was
- 24:59Speaker 1: that that kid that was the time recruit and the
- 25:01Speaker 1: kid got all mad, he fired back to Adam. Yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 1: it's just like World War three. Yeah, it's a lot.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's like everyone now it's pointing fingers and now everyone
- 25:10Speaker 1: is like, no, I didn't do that, Like but they
- 25:13Speaker 1: did that, and it's kind of just like a domino
- 25:15Speaker 1: effect right now. On Twitter. It's like when you go
- 25:16Speaker 1: to court and there's this thing called discovery. The more
- 25:20Speaker 1: this goes out, the more people are going to be saying, oh, yeah,
- 25:23Speaker 1: murder shows. That's right, That's what Fishers sent back. You know,
- 25:27Speaker 1: let's let's look into Saban killed. Yeah, let's look into
- 25:31Speaker 1: God save and see about his past. And even like
- 25:35Speaker 1: in basketball, it was like a maybe a month or
- 25:37Speaker 1: two ago, there was a University of Miami basketball player
- 25:40Speaker 1: who allegedly was looking at going into the transfer portal
- 25:43Speaker 1: to transferred to a school where he would get more
- 25:45Speaker 1: NIL benefits. Yeah, flat out said it. It's going to
- 25:48Speaker 1: be worse than basketball. Yeah that was right. Yeah, Like
- 25:50Speaker 1: he flat out said, like I want to transfer because
- 25:53Speaker 1: of this. Yeah. In basketball, there are over three hundred
- 25:56Speaker 1: and fifty Division one schools that are competing for the
- 25:59Speaker 1: same termnament. It's not like football, where you know the
- 26:01Speaker 1: top four are going to get to the big game.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And in basketball, you can be a little guy and
- 26:07Speaker 1: still make a lot of money for your school by
- 26:09Speaker 1: making the NCAA tournament. Saint Peter's you know, making a run.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I mean that's but Saint Peter's goes to the final
- 26:15Speaker 1: eight or whatever they think, they went to the Elite eight.
- 26:18Speaker 1: That's invaluable money in publicity for the school. It's going
- 26:21Speaker 1: to be harder and harder for teams to do that
- 26:24Speaker 1: with this kind of stuff. And that whole team, by
- 26:27Speaker 1: the way, transferred ye Saint Peter's just as an example.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And what are the transfer portal rules now? First four agents?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Everything you can so you don't have to sit out
- 26:35Speaker 1: a year at all now it used to be. But
- 26:37Speaker 1: how soon did that change? You get you get one
- 26:40Speaker 1: I think you get one free transfer now I think yeah,
- 26:43Speaker 1: but now everybody with COVID has has a right then
- 26:46Speaker 1: you get an extra year too. That's everything, the extra
- 26:49Speaker 1: year because if you played in the COVID right well,
- 26:51Speaker 1: that's like with all the like profiles we're doing on
- 26:53Speaker 1: draft guys, where you know, Marcus Jones transferred from Troy
- 26:56Speaker 1: did sit out a year before playing for Houston. But
- 26:59Speaker 1: you know, like Jack Jones, he was at USC than
- 27:02Speaker 1: he was out a year, then he was at three years.
- 27:05Speaker 1: So I guess I'm just confused now with all the
- 27:07Speaker 1: COVID extra eligibility plus all the transfer portals now where
- 27:11Speaker 1: guys don't have to sit out anymore. And I mean
- 27:13Speaker 1: even in college hockey it's the same way. It's you know,
- 27:16Speaker 1: a kid from holy Cross, he finished at holy Cross
- 27:18Speaker 1: and now he's gonna go play for like North Dakota
- 27:20Speaker 1: for a year, you know, like a jump up. It's
- 27:22Speaker 1: it's crazy. I thought. What was funny though, and is
- 27:24Speaker 1: you know uh Saban's lament that you know, the Ncubley
- 27:28Speaker 1: makes these rules and then they can't be in forced
- 27:30Speaker 1: because people sue them and they win. Yeah, because they
- 27:33Speaker 1: win because the rules are anti trust. They're you know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: they're not fairy. So that's why I said, it's been
- 27:40Speaker 1: done wrong for so many years, and I think it
- 27:42Speaker 1: was overcorrected. Yeah, so you know, we'll see. It's interesting
- 27:46Speaker 1: and there's more to come. Sounds like, do you think
- 27:49Speaker 1: what there's an impact on the players coming out to
- 27:52Speaker 1: the NFL or they're going to be Are you still
- 27:54Speaker 1: going to see kind of the primary same schools are
- 27:56Speaker 1: you gonna see? I think, I mean, I don't know.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I just they're gonna be kind of money you and
- 28:00Speaker 1: I could have made on it. I know, well, Hall
- 28:04Speaker 1: of Fame go up to Northeastern. I did see like
- 28:08Speaker 1: someone posts about that saying like, now these kids can
- 28:11Speaker 1: make more an IL than they can in there for
- 28:13Speaker 1: year well twenty on where they're drafted, and that's interested
- 28:16Speaker 1: you can make more money. You hear a lot from
- 28:18Speaker 1: around draft time. Well, you know what's going to happen
- 28:20Speaker 1: when these kids make this money and they get to
- 28:23Speaker 1: the pros. Well, now a lot of them will already
- 28:25Speaker 1: have made that money, and we'll see how they reacted
- 28:28Speaker 1: when they had that money, and it might make it
- 28:30Speaker 1: a little easier on that layer of recruiting and drafting.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You know, now we know how they act. You know interesting,
- 28:38Speaker 1: it's it's it's a whole it's a whole new world.
- 28:40Speaker 1: And I didn't wonder too of like what about guys
- 28:42Speaker 1: that don't even go to the NFL. You were getting
- 28:44Speaker 1: paid crazy money as a college athlete. Maybe you flame
- 28:47Speaker 1: out in the NFL and now you've got to go
- 28:49Speaker 1: get a real job, and you're like, man, I was
- 28:50Speaker 1: making more money in college. There's a lot of money
- 28:54Speaker 1: out there, you know, from this to people on YouTube
- 28:57Speaker 1: and TikTok, you know, influencers like making hundreds of thousands
- 29:03Speaker 1: a month from what they're doing. Yea, you know there's
- 29:06Speaker 1: a lot of money ago. Eric took preach. I'm gonna
- 29:11Speaker 1: be like the uh who's the All State Mayhem guy? Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 1: doing his like I'm the next viral sensations of people.
- 29:21Speaker 1: This is gonna get tens and tens of You got
- 29:23Speaker 1: Lizzo dance, you can work on scal But I just like,
- 29:27Speaker 1: remember um uh fanatics or somebody she gets it, she
- 29:31Speaker 1: knows it, well get it. We just we just shake
- 29:34Speaker 1: our head at you. That's all. Remember they were doing
- 29:37Speaker 1: the fundraiser. Uh, I forget which cause in Robert Kraft
- 29:42Speaker 1: uh donated his ring and somebody who was prutent he
- 29:46Speaker 1: stole that. Yeah. Well the person who won the ring,
- 29:49Speaker 1: who did the most on it, I think it was
- 29:51Speaker 1: like one point four million, turned out to be one
- 29:55Speaker 1: of these social media influencers who said he's a young
- 29:58Speaker 1: kid and he says he makes like three hundred thousand
- 30:01Speaker 1: a month and he spends it all. Mister Beast spends
- 30:05Speaker 1: it all, spends it all and not putting it away.
- 30:07Speaker 1: He's spending it all. Wow, Yeah, that's what mister beast does.
- 30:10Speaker 1: He's one of the biggest, right, No, one hundred thousand
- 30:15Speaker 1: a month. All his videos are things like how long
- 30:17Speaker 1: can I get my friends to sit in a hot
- 30:19Speaker 1: like a cold tub or something, and whoever stays the
- 30:21Speaker 1: longest gets ten grand like crazy stupid stuff like that.
- 30:24Speaker 1: But it is crazy that the amount of money and
- 30:27Speaker 1: TikTok and influencers and all that. But I'm here for
- 30:30Speaker 1: the pay per view with Saban and Fishing. Oh yeah,
- 30:33Speaker 1: this was entertaining back and forth today. Yea. They said
- 30:36Speaker 1: it's going to be awkward when they have the conference meeting.
- 30:39Speaker 1: And he says, oh, Jimbo said, jim said, won't be awkward.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I have no problem with confrontation, right. He says, my
- 30:46Speaker 1: dad would have slapped him. Is that what he said? Lied?
- 30:48Speaker 1: If so, you could say a lot, You could say
- 30:51Speaker 1: a lot of things about me, but I don't lie
- 30:53Speaker 1: and I don't steal. Yeah, and you know that's when
- 30:56Speaker 1: he went into my father would have smack me upside
- 30:58Speaker 1: the head. Yeah, far my father? All right. Five ticket
- 31:05Speaker 1: line web Radio at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Let's get into what our listeners are thinking about. I
- 31:11Speaker 1: think most of them are probably thinking about Eric, but
- 31:14Speaker 1: we'll see. Probably we gotta tell a novella on over here. Oh,
- 31:18Speaker 1: Brad's in the Eastern Shore. What's up Brad, Hey guys,
- 31:22Speaker 1: I just want to say that it was great for
- 31:24Speaker 1: me to come into Patriots Unfiltered with Eric, and I
- 31:28Speaker 1: am saying even though Eric is moving on, appreciate. I
- 31:34Speaker 1: just want to say that I will meet Eric more
- 31:38Speaker 1: than Andy. So Eric, I cannot give you a bigger compliment. Well,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I'll take it, or it could be a low bar,
- 31:45Speaker 1: but take it either way. However, I do have to say, Eric,
- 31:52Speaker 1: with you leaving the show, how on earth will we
- 31:55Speaker 1: ever know if you get eaten by a lion? Because
- 31:58Speaker 1: that would be really cool. I think he by lyon
- 32:03Speaker 1: that would be that would make news. Yeah, that would
- 32:04Speaker 1: make news, yea. Or how will we know when you
- 32:08Speaker 1: meet the future this disease scal Oh, well that won't happen,
- 32:12Speaker 1: so you'll never know about that. Well, Keith tabs really
- 32:15Speaker 1: really difficult for Patriot people to not ever know the
- 32:19Speaker 1: outcome of your life with that, It's gonna be one
- 32:22Speaker 1: of those great mysteries like the Staircase. You're gonna have
- 32:24Speaker 1: to watch the documentary in fifty years. I'm gonna make
- 32:26Speaker 1: a prediction within two years you will be dating someone
- 32:32Speaker 1: on a regular basis. Within two years. Yea, what is
- 32:34Speaker 1: this man? So we were the ones holding him back?
- 32:37Speaker 1: Ye this job and everything care too much. You're gonna
- 32:40Speaker 1: get out there and you're gonna find some I do
- 32:43Speaker 1: have to say that I haven't been able to call
- 32:46Speaker 1: in do the work for the draft. Um. I did
- 32:49Speaker 1: get two picked right, and that was actually Pierre Strong
- 32:52Speaker 1: in the fourth and Faith and Hines in the sick.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I nailed both of those. However, I had taekwon Thornton
- 33:00Speaker 1: in the fourth and Bailey's happy with the fifth, but
- 33:03Speaker 1: then they got rid of it, so lost out on those.
- 33:06Speaker 1: So got a note for the game though. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I did have no offense. But next year I'm gonna
- 33:12Speaker 1: need you to show your work before the track, right.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Oh for years, for oh good grief, probably almost twenty years,
- 33:20Speaker 1: I made a big board every year. Did not do
- 33:23Speaker 1: it this year. Just do the work. But I will
- 33:27Speaker 1: say I think Pierstrong is absolutely pegged as our third
- 33:32Speaker 1: down back. He's lightning in a bottle and if he
- 33:36Speaker 1: can show that he can block on Blitzer, I think
- 33:39Speaker 1: he's going to be just as steamless transition as all
- 33:42Speaker 1: the others that Paul listed the other day have been.
- 33:45Speaker 1: One after the other. So Eric, I wish you all
- 33:48Speaker 1: the best. Thanks, Brad, and take care and guys, I
- 33:53Speaker 1: will continue to be here while we go through this
- 33:56Speaker 1: post Eric's transition. And Brad, the best compliment I can
- 33:59Speaker 1: pay you is I will not block you on Twitter.
- 34:01Speaker 1: How's that they do have some promise with the explosiveness
- 34:09Speaker 1: of the run game. I mean, I last year you
- 34:11Speaker 1: had some big plays from Harris and Stevenson, and this
- 34:14Speaker 1: guy now comes into the mix. He's probably the fastest
- 34:16Speaker 1: of all of them. So I mean it's it's an
- 34:18Speaker 1: element of the offense. Hopefully they can you know, and
- 34:20Speaker 1: I know the fullback thing maybe a little overblown, but
- 34:23Speaker 1: that that that could be a key part of the
- 34:25Speaker 1: offense if they're able to make some explosive plays on
- 34:27Speaker 1: you know, as much as everybody wants a deep threat
- 34:29Speaker 1: and getting the ball down the field, I think that's
- 34:31Speaker 1: a big part of what they're probably trying to do.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I know a lot of people the last week or so,
- 34:39Speaker 1: I mean, like, you know, okay, I guess we'll talk football, dude, Sorry, like,
- 34:45Speaker 1: what what is it? Well? But I think like one
- 34:47Speaker 1: of the things I'm gonna talk football with Douce here
- 34:50Speaker 1: because you and I you know, I always agree with you.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Why I write your coltails, Mike Um, that's been a
- 34:56Speaker 1: threat that's been going around all of a sudden. I
- 34:58Speaker 1: think stat esp and stats and a kit. The Patriots
- 35:01Speaker 1: had like the third or fourth most explosive plays in
- 35:04Speaker 1: football last year, which I think is as ridiculously misleading
- 35:08Speaker 1: a strategy. Did you watch the did you exactly did
- 35:11Speaker 1: you watch the games? Did you see how they scored
- 35:13Speaker 1: all their points concentrated in like three games? Right? You know,
- 35:18Speaker 1: they had like some really really great offensive games where
- 35:21Speaker 1: they were in the fifties against the Jags and against
- 35:24Speaker 1: the Jets, and then they had you know, eight other
- 35:27Speaker 1: games where they couldn't get out of their own way.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You know, we we like to make fun of the
- 35:30Speaker 1: fact that they couldn't force a punt. Well, they couldn't
- 35:33Speaker 1: not punt in some other games, like the Colts game
- 35:36Speaker 1: for like three quarters, the Bills game, you know, in
- 35:39Speaker 1: the playoffs, they couldn't do anything offensively for a lot
- 35:42Speaker 1: for long periods of time in these games, the Miami
- 35:45Speaker 1: game down in Miami late in the year. These you know,
- 35:50Speaker 1: the defense was terrible down the stretch. The defense was
- 35:53Speaker 1: the number one problem down the stretch. But they could
- 35:56Speaker 1: have won shootouts had they been able to at least
- 36:01Speaker 1: score a little bit to keep some kind of connection
- 36:04Speaker 1: instead of falling behind by three scores in like four
- 36:07Speaker 1: the last five games. Right yeah, so yeah, where were
- 36:11Speaker 1: the explosive plays in those games? Right? Well, there was
- 36:13Speaker 1: the I mean there was, and I think it's a
- 36:16Speaker 1: They had eighty eight explosive plays, right, Like, that's a lot.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I get it. You know, the big run by Harris
- 36:20Speaker 1: in that first Bills game. Um, but I think it's
- 36:23Speaker 1: an example. I mean, I think Paul is right, but
- 36:25Speaker 1: but it's but even that, But it's got to be
- 36:27Speaker 1: on schedule. It's got to be on their terms. They
- 36:29Speaker 1: get a league, they get it. The sixty something had
- 36:32Speaker 1: a touchdown run. They did absolutely nothing else the entire night.
- 36:36Speaker 1: That was an explosive play. But in the context of
- 36:40Speaker 1: the game in the season, they weren't an explosive offensive team.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry. The numbers true, but the pure stats I
- 36:48Speaker 1: tell you that they were. That's why I'm not saying
- 36:51Speaker 1: and the damn lies and then they're statistics like they
- 36:54Speaker 1: weren't really introductive offensively in most games. I'm not going
- 36:58Speaker 1: to say all games because like I said, they had
- 37:00Speaker 1: you know, the Cleveland game, they were outstanding offensively in
- 37:03Speaker 1: the Cleveland game. Yeah, that's a regular team they play.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I wasn't the Jets or the Jets right. They they
- 37:09Speaker 1: scored like a touchdown every possession against Cleveland until the
- 37:12Speaker 1: game was over. So like they had games, individual games
- 37:16Speaker 1: where the offense looked good at just thinking when it
- 37:18Speaker 1: was on their terms. That's the point I'm trying to
- 37:21Speaker 1: make though, And that Bills game the example of that was, Yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 1: they got that early in the game and we know
- 37:25Speaker 1: the conditions, but the games that we're talking about that
- 37:28Speaker 1: they were able to get the lead and now we
- 37:30Speaker 1: can run and you know, so I think my question
- 37:33Speaker 1: is can the can the running game produced when they're behind?
- 37:35Speaker 1: Did they have enough of a passing game to stretch
- 37:37Speaker 1: the field a little bit to get light boxes so
- 37:39Speaker 1: that they can use that. I mean, I agree with
- 37:41Speaker 1: everything you guys are saying. It had to be perfect
- 37:44Speaker 1: last year, and once it got rolland like Falcons game
- 37:47Speaker 1: or you know those Cleveland it's all clicking. It's all
- 37:49Speaker 1: clicking in the fell clicking and then at the end,
- 37:52Speaker 1: all of a sudden, now baas where they didn't do
- 37:55Speaker 1: anything offensively. They had like sixteen points and got the
- 37:58Speaker 1: pick six at the end to make it look like
- 38:00Speaker 1: they had a good office. But they had like one
- 38:02Speaker 1: drive in that game. Um that's when your final scores
- 38:05Speaker 1: twenty five. You know, some weird things happening, right, you know, right,
- 38:09Speaker 1: I mean they had a bunch of field goals. I
- 38:11Speaker 1: think I think, uh folk, you may have missed an
- 38:13Speaker 1: extra point in that one. They had a pick six
- 38:15Speaker 1: late in the game. Yep, I think it was Van Deir, Yes,
- 38:19Speaker 1: that was, yes, he did. Yeah, yes, he had a
- 38:21Speaker 1: peak pick six in that game, a peak six. Let's
- 38:24Speaker 1: go to Melvin in Tennessee. Hey, Malvin going on, Hey, hey,
- 38:29Speaker 1: all right, there's one the day I eric by. Are
- 38:32Speaker 1: you still crying? You've been crying since since the other days,
- 38:35Speaker 1: are you? Yeah? It is crazy because you know, I've
- 38:39Speaker 1: been talking to me off for what probably a third
- 38:42Speaker 1: of my life. So you get so atte You're still young.
- 38:47Speaker 1: We get it, you're you're you're in shape where I
- 38:50Speaker 1: get it. That's not the point. It's still true. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: but I was you know, you get a tat speedper
- 38:59Speaker 1: so hate to see obviously, I wish them whatever they do.
- 39:03Speaker 1: But you know, you get a past the things and characters,
- 39:05Speaker 1: the people or whatever you want to copple it. So
- 39:07Speaker 1: wish you were out. Hey we got we got some
- 39:10Speaker 1: good memories on the road. Remember we went out to
- 39:12Speaker 1: dinner you mean Freddy in New Orleans. Yeah, that was dinner.
- 39:14Speaker 1: That was a good that was a good thing. Melvin
- 39:16Speaker 1: and I had food. Eric Fred's got another hour and twenty.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Maybe Eric will be a calling guest, you know. I
- 39:28Speaker 1: hope so I hope you know what I have to
- 39:31Speaker 1: see if I can do like Andy Hart and calling
- 39:33Speaker 1: and have not recognized it, Yeah, you knew how to
- 39:36Speaker 1: do impressions, that would be good. It wasn't his last
- 39:41Speaker 1: shot miss it all right? Sweet kid? Quick if you
- 39:53Speaker 1: want to bring us down, I know. Do you all
- 39:57Speaker 1: think that uh Cod dougga will be ex in the
- 40:00Speaker 1: rotation with the returns this year? And if you don't
- 40:02Speaker 1: see him like with punt returns or in the kick game,
- 40:07Speaker 1: like what do you what do you feel like? Is
- 40:09Speaker 1: they're amissive? Not a miss? But well that's something that
- 40:13Speaker 1: was in his skill set. If he's not using in
- 40:15Speaker 1: the pros, does that kind of like not come down
- 40:17Speaker 1: the box value? I hope he's not in the rotation too,
- 40:21Speaker 1: because that means this other kid that they drafted is
- 40:24Speaker 1: I hope he is. And I think Dugger is exceptional, uh,
- 40:27Speaker 1: and I'd like to see him get a chance. I
- 40:29Speaker 1: just would like to see him play more defense, doing
- 40:32Speaker 1: more on defense that they feel like, oh, we can't
- 40:33Speaker 1: afford to have you. They don't do that, I know.
- 40:36Speaker 1: But this other kid is supposed to be a lade. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 1: I mean we've never gotten a chance to see it. No.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I spoke to Well via email Holgerson, the head coach
- 40:47Speaker 1: of Houston. He said he's he's top ten returner day one.
- 40:50Speaker 1: That's why I'm saying this because I read your thing,
- 40:52Speaker 1: you know, But I think it's a good question. I
- 40:56Speaker 1: think it's a good question as I was thinking about
- 40:58Speaker 1: it today, is just what is Dugger's third year look like?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Because you've got Peppers here, you got bled So, you
- 41:04Speaker 1: got Adrian Phillips, you got a lot of guys who
- 41:06Speaker 1: can do those things. And I mean, I think generally
- 41:09Speaker 1: I pencil him in as like a main guy, but
- 41:11Speaker 1: I also question that a little bit of is there
- 41:14Speaker 1: an element of Okay, now it's the time because if
- 41:17Speaker 1: not we got a bled so we got another veteran here. Like,
- 41:20Speaker 1: there's a lot of guys that can do what he does. Now,
- 41:23Speaker 1: I wonder how that plays out, and if he's on
- 41:25Speaker 1: the hot seat, well, I mean, you know, like just
- 41:29Speaker 1: coming in. There's something I'm not say he makes. If
- 41:33Speaker 1: he makes the team, he'll be on special I don't
- 41:38Speaker 1: I'm just saying. And I got a bunch of guys
- 41:40Speaker 1: that did that category strong safety that plays in the box.
- 41:44Speaker 1: He got a bunch of he says, his depth chart
- 41:46Speaker 1: in front of him. He's just rattling off. I didn't
- 41:48Speaker 1: even look out. I said, it's my it's my cute card.
- 41:53Speaker 1: There's a bunch of guys like that. And I don't
- 41:55Speaker 1: let him slip. I don't let him. I can't treat
- 41:58Speaker 1: differently than I treat anybody else. I appreciate that. But
- 42:01Speaker 1: there's just a lot of strong safeties on the roster.
- 42:03Speaker 1: And how's it all going to play out? And is
- 42:05Speaker 1: he for sure locked in? Is the top guy in
- 42:07Speaker 1: the box? I'm I'm pretty sure, but I'm not one day. Hey,
- 42:12Speaker 1: thanks a lot, And I do touch Brendan schooler too.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I think dugger, But now that's good Dugger. I think
- 42:22Speaker 1: is is definitely. I think he's a definite because Peppers
- 42:26Speaker 1: is last year. Mccordy is, you know, I don't know.
- 42:29Speaker 1: They'll probably bring him back to who knows every time
- 42:31Speaker 1: I say it's his last year, but they just resigned
- 42:34Speaker 1: him from more money. He's not in the box guy. No,
- 42:36Speaker 1: But I'm saying, like, there's only so many safeties you're
- 42:38Speaker 1: gonna be able to play, like you can't just play
- 42:40Speaker 1: I know it's position right, but you can't play nine
- 42:43Speaker 1: safety exactly. Point. That's that's that's that's so the point.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I think they might like Peppers as a guy who
- 42:49Speaker 1: they think can be the quasi linebacker, and they obviously
- 42:52Speaker 1: like Dugger and Phillips and interchangeable kind of roles too.
- 42:55Speaker 1: They're gonna play three of them minimum, but I think
- 42:58Speaker 1: you're gonna see four. What's week two? Patriots have nine
- 43:01Speaker 1: safeties on the field. But who could bump mccordy, I mean,
- 43:04Speaker 1: because but I think mccordy could dugger Phillips in um
- 43:08Speaker 1: Peppers will all be on the field together. But I mean,
- 43:11Speaker 1: I don't know about every play, but but kind of
- 43:12Speaker 1: jumping over to your side of the street though, you know,
- 43:15Speaker 1: couldn't one of those guys do what mccordy that, like,
- 43:17Speaker 1: like in a perfect world, couldn't dugger kind of come
- 43:19Speaker 1: in and play the back end of the defense, Like
- 43:22Speaker 1: I can be that safety the Patriots brain trust. I'm
- 43:25Speaker 1: hoping somebody does because I need a succession plan. Yeah.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Can Peppers do that? Nah? You don't think he can run?
- 43:31Speaker 1: I don't know. Does I worry about the speed of
- 43:33Speaker 1: the other two guys? Maybe? Maybe I'm just sure. Maybe
- 43:37Speaker 1: I'm too high on Peppers because I haven't seen him,
- 43:39Speaker 1: and plus he's coming off the knee injury, right, so
- 43:41Speaker 1: how much is it going to be effective coming off
- 43:45Speaker 1: of that ACLA pencil and McCory Greg's in California? Greg Greg, Hello,
- 43:57Speaker 1: Hey guys, Sorry, yeah, okay, uh so kind of related
- 44:03Speaker 1: to the secondary, would you you guys all I've heard
- 44:08Speaker 1: you talk about J. C. Jackson. You all trying to
- 44:10Speaker 1: consider him a lower on CB one, higher on CB two. Correct.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I think he's a I think he's a starting cornerback
- 44:17Speaker 1: in the league. Sure, yeah, yeah, I would say good,
- 44:20Speaker 1: not great? Yeah, okay, just because with half then we
- 44:25Speaker 1: are at corner now and seeing how much Gyer Alexander
- 44:29Speaker 1: got do you guys really not think he would have
- 44:31Speaker 1: been worth the fifteen million or oh, I'm on record
- 44:35Speaker 1: saying we should have kept him. Yeah, fifteen million, absolutely,
- 44:38Speaker 1: that was the good. Like if you get him for fifteen,
- 44:40Speaker 1: we were thinking he was going to get more, you know, seventeen, eighteen,
- 44:43Speaker 1: even maybe nineteen. Yeah, but I take him in the
- 44:46Speaker 1: sixteen and a half, Yeah, something like that. I think.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I think I think he was I don't think he
- 44:50Speaker 1: was like quote unquote overpaid on the market. Yeah. No,
- 44:52Speaker 1: I'm I'm on record saying I would have kept JC
- 44:55Speaker 1: Jackson if Fred was on that before last season. Did
- 45:00Speaker 1: they not offer him that level of money or did
- 45:02Speaker 1: they not one out in New England? Yeah, they do
- 45:05Speaker 1: not offer I mean as far as I know, I mean,
- 45:08Speaker 1: we don't know everything that goes on, but no one
- 45:10Speaker 1: has reported that they offered him anything. Yeah, they were
- 45:14Speaker 1: talking at points, but yeah, I've never heard a firm
- 45:16Speaker 1: offer anything that. It sounds like, Greg, you you were
- 45:19Speaker 1: on board keeping him, You think they should have kept him?
- 45:22Speaker 1: I yeah, I like you guys thought he was a
- 45:25Speaker 1: little overrated. But at the same time, we now have
- 45:28Speaker 1: basically no corners. Yeah, if it were he's not a
- 45:33Speaker 1: shutdown corner. Um, you know, elite corner, but there are
- 45:37Speaker 1: very few of those anyway. But in terms of what's
- 45:40Speaker 1: the level of a good corner in the NFL, he's
- 45:44Speaker 1: he's a good corner. Yeah. I mean I didn't love him,
- 45:46Speaker 1: but I do think it hurts. It's just it's it
- 45:48Speaker 1: stinks to develop a guy internally and and have to
- 45:51Speaker 1: let them go. And I feel like there's been too
- 45:53Speaker 1: much of that. There haven't been enough guys developed internally
- 45:56Speaker 1: that are good that they extend that you know, we're
- 45:57Speaker 1: going to be here for a while in their prime. Yep.
- 45:59Speaker 1: And he did gets great a v. I mean, that's
- 46:04Speaker 1: that's funny money here. It was five eighty two and
- 46:06Speaker 1: a half. Um he did get forty I think guaranteed. YEA.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Christians in La Hey, Christian, Hey, you guys, how are
- 46:15Speaker 1: you good? Talk to you guys. You know, I've been
- 46:19Speaker 1: studying this tape and Baylor, Um Tayklon Thornton and his tape.
- 46:24Speaker 1: It looks really good. I really would give him at
- 46:26Speaker 1: least the eye text is telling me he looked a
- 46:29Speaker 1: lot like with his release and separation of Devantae Adams type.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I know it was built a kind of slight, but
- 46:34Speaker 1: that can kind of get rectified his first second year
- 46:36Speaker 1: in the league. My question for you guys is, I've
- 46:39Speaker 1: also looked at a lot of Max Jones tape from
- 46:41Speaker 1: last year. Do you feel like Mac has that same
- 46:45Speaker 1: sort of thing that Tua has going on with maybe
- 46:47Speaker 1: not having the pure arm strength to reach um, you know,
- 46:51Speaker 1: a Tayklon tyreek Hill with his issue over there in
- 46:56Speaker 1: Miami without having to go seventy yards down the down
- 47:00Speaker 1: the field with the ball. How do you guys see
- 47:03Speaker 1: us being able to get this kid involved in the game.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Is it more like a Kansas City used tyreek Hill
- 47:10Speaker 1: last year he had He went seventeen games without a
- 47:13Speaker 1: play of over forty four yards or more in the air.
- 47:18Speaker 1: What do you guys think Mac had to be able
- 47:20Speaker 1: to take advantage of what Taikwon can do for us? Well,
- 47:23Speaker 1: let me let me throw this back at you a
- 47:24Speaker 1: little bit Christian. So you say you've been studying Thornton
- 47:27Speaker 1: a little bit, and obviously you're familiar with Tyrek Hill
- 47:31Speaker 1: quickness wise, can is Thornton Does he have that same quickness?
- 47:36Speaker 1: Because if he does, okay, we can kind of get
- 47:39Speaker 1: him in the middle of the field and use him
- 47:41Speaker 1: a lot the way Miami will and Kansas City used Tyreek.
- 47:46Speaker 1: But I don't think he does. I don't think he's
- 47:48Speaker 1: got that type. I mean, from a testing point of view,
- 47:51Speaker 1: he does, yeah, but I haven't seen him play, so
- 47:53Speaker 1: I'm going to wait and see that small space quickness
- 47:56Speaker 1: that that determines a lot how you can use a player, right,
- 48:00Speaker 1: And from what I've seen, he has that sort of
- 48:04Speaker 1: he can drop his hips really quickly and turn okay
- 48:07Speaker 1: at his top speed, and so back to me that
- 48:10Speaker 1: he has that kind of ability to you know, prep
- 48:13Speaker 1: the cornerback to track him up and then quickly drop
- 48:17Speaker 1: the hip, turn in and explode another direction. So I
- 48:21Speaker 1: don't think that's just I mean, based on what we've
- 48:24Speaker 1: read that right, I mean, I think he's mostly gonna
- 48:26Speaker 1: be on the outside. But I think that your first
- 48:28Speaker 1: question is what I really want to see in camp
- 48:30Speaker 1: and what I'm excited when they made the pick is,
- 48:32Speaker 1: you know, we saw some connections with Agalore downfield in
- 48:34Speaker 1: camp and that you saw, all right, he's got some ability,
- 48:37Speaker 1: but I think this is a true test of a
- 48:38Speaker 1: guy who's really fast on the outside, you know, can
- 48:40Speaker 1: Mac make those plays? This year, and you know, can
- 48:43Speaker 1: he get enough separation downfield to you know, allow Mac
- 48:46Speaker 1: to use his anticipation to throw it and not have
- 48:48Speaker 1: to leave it. But want to I want to defend
- 48:50Speaker 1: Mac here too, um Mac and to it Like it's
- 48:52Speaker 1: not about how far they can throw the ball. They
- 48:54Speaker 1: can throw the ball fire like. It's about getting it
- 48:57Speaker 1: there on time. And that's what Mike is talking about,
- 48:59Speaker 1: the anticipation when you're throwing. I don't think that I
- 49:03Speaker 1: think Max's arm is better than two Us, but I
- 49:05Speaker 1: don't think either one of them have an NFL caliber
- 49:08Speaker 1: arm strength. So it's about how fast they can get
- 49:12Speaker 1: the ball there. So that's going to require Ski to
- 49:16Speaker 1: help Mac on some of those plays. But I have
- 49:18Speaker 1: no doubt that two we can throw the ball fifty yards,
- 49:21Speaker 1: just like every other guy in the NFL can. Most
- 49:23Speaker 1: of them can throw it, but it takes too long,
- 49:25Speaker 1: Like that that play that everybody's talking about from a
- 49:28Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago on social media, the ball was
- 49:30Speaker 1: in the air to bring rain like that was the problem.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Like everybody like focuses on that that Tyreek hill had
- 49:37Speaker 1: a turn and like wait for it to come down. Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 1: it took too long to get there. There's no way
- 49:42Speaker 1: that play is working throwing it back high. Yeah, that's
- 49:48Speaker 1: definitely next question. What do we know about We should
- 49:52Speaker 1: ask the coaches that. I mean, nobody knows. I think
- 49:55Speaker 1: I think Bill's gonna call plays. You won't see him
- 49:57Speaker 1: with a card because he memorized all of them. But
- 50:00Speaker 1: he's gonna call the play. He's just gonna have four
- 50:02Speaker 1: fingers one on one. Yeah, one of the three. Been
- 50:06Speaker 1: the time? What Bill is called the offense? The offensive plays?
- 50:09Speaker 1: And what did we do in that? He never did?
- 50:12Speaker 1: Just not here? No, it was you know, Charlie, um, Charlie, Josh. Yeah,
- 50:18Speaker 1: what was the feeling like you oh five? When when
- 50:20Speaker 1: when Charlie left and Josh McDaniels kind of took over.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I don't think he was named over everybody, but everybody
- 50:26Speaker 1: he was going to be the guy. Yeah, it was
- 50:28Speaker 1: a quarterback coach beforeterback coach. Y. Yeah, he everybody knew
- 50:31Speaker 1: he was going to be the guy, and they didn't
- 50:32Speaker 1: give him the title. Now you don't know, did you? Guys?
- 50:37Speaker 1: Bill basically has no experience called an offensive plays. Doesn't
- 50:39Speaker 1: this look to me like maybe we need to change
- 50:42Speaker 1: our ways of not giving anybody a title and actually
- 50:44Speaker 1: go the route of naming an offensive coordinator. We can
- 50:47Speaker 1: focus on, we can see what he's good at blah
- 50:49Speaker 1: blah blah. Naming a defensive coordinator, we can focus on,
- 50:52Speaker 1: what do you guys thin about it? Should? This sounds
- 50:54Speaker 1: like two Q and as we have with the coaches earlier.
- 50:57Speaker 1: So everyone was saying to me like, no matter who
- 50:59Speaker 1: called the place is never it's going to be an
- 51:01Speaker 1: individual who's never done it. Yeah, thanks Christian. So there
- 51:05Speaker 1: was a guy that I could say, what's his fault?
- 51:07Speaker 1: He's calling plays? I don't like. I just like, I
- 51:10Speaker 1: don't care. I get and I'm I'm with everybody, and
- 51:12Speaker 1: I think they have to acknowledge that it's kind of weird,
- 51:15Speaker 1: like that you don't have somebody And again, like the
- 51:18Speaker 1: main point mac weird important. It's just it's a little weird.
- 51:20Speaker 1: And to act like, well, I don't know, we'll just
- 51:23Speaker 1: kind of figure it out. I think a little like
- 51:26Speaker 1: when it comes time to call plays, we'll have somebody
- 51:28Speaker 1: calling the play. Yeah. I like, who's to say, like
- 51:30Speaker 1: they don't already have that person figured out? I think, right, well, yeah,
- 51:34Speaker 1: I think they do haven't figured out. Yeah, I really do,
- 51:36Speaker 1: but I think I can. But no matter who it is,
- 51:38Speaker 1: there's never that person has never done it. And the
- 51:40Speaker 1: thing that's what worries about it not the identity of
- 51:43Speaker 1: the person as much as the inexperience of the person. Ye.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Do the players know who it is? Do they know
- 51:48Speaker 1: who they go to? They probably don't at this point
- 51:51Speaker 1: because yeah, that's that's to me is a little bits
- 51:53Speaker 1: no reason to talk about it at this point. Who's
- 51:55Speaker 1: Who's the person do I go to that's in charge
- 51:58Speaker 1: of the offense? Yeah? Yeah, I think are aside from
- 52:00Speaker 1: my position coach, who do I go to to talk
- 52:02Speaker 1: about what I'm seeing, what I'm what my role is? Right?
- 52:05Speaker 1: Who do I go to? Really, Mack, who is Mac
- 52:08Speaker 1: going to about not just the quarterback position, but the
- 52:12Speaker 1: office as a whole? Right? Do you think in the
- 52:14Speaker 1: same way that players are competing for their spot, that
- 52:17Speaker 1: these that the coaches are sent essentially competing for I
- 52:21Speaker 1: hope not. It seems I hope not, isn't it, because
- 52:24Speaker 1: because they talk about this collaborative atmosphere, and we're all,
- 52:28Speaker 1: if I'm competing, I want to beat you, I don't
- 52:31Speaker 1: want to collaborate with you. So I hope it's not
- 52:33Speaker 1: a competition, Yeah, because you don't want coaching staff and
- 52:38Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want to help you. I'm in
- 52:40Speaker 1: competition with you. That's the same thing that you know
- 52:43Speaker 1: people always talk about with quarterbacks. Yeah, you know, you
- 52:46Speaker 1: get like a veteran quarterback and they draft someone, you
- 52:48Speaker 1: gonna mentor him. That's not your job. And I know
- 52:51Speaker 1: that there was some guy like Alex Smith was always
- 52:53Speaker 1: credited with being so wonderful and that, and that's great
- 52:56Speaker 1: for Alex Smith and I I love that guy. I
- 52:59Speaker 1: have a lot of respect for him. But like Brian
- 53:01Speaker 1: Hoyer is the backup quarterback right now, it's not his
- 53:04Speaker 1: job to hold Mac Jones's hand. Brian Hoyer's job is
- 53:07Speaker 1: to make sure he's as prepared as he can to
- 53:10Speaker 1: play if he has to play. So you agree with
- 53:13Speaker 1: who was it Tannehill who said that about yeah and listening.
- 53:18Speaker 1: I don't think he said it the right way because
- 53:20Speaker 1: he said it almost knowing he was going to get
- 53:22Speaker 1: the backlash that he did. But yeah, you don't have
- 53:25Speaker 1: to be a jerk to the guy. But I can't
- 53:29Speaker 1: necessarily worry if I'm Ryan Tannehill about you're not spending
- 53:32Speaker 1: your time thinking about this, this, this guy, if that
- 53:35Speaker 1: guy has to play, if I turn an ankle and
- 53:37Speaker 1: that guy's gotta go win, I gotta get him that, right.
- 53:39Speaker 1: That's just that's the and Bill says it all the time.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Layers have enough to worry about playing, and then it
- 53:45Speaker 1: gets blown up into as if the rookie quarterback says, well,
- 53:48Speaker 1: what should I do in this play? I'm not telling
- 53:49Speaker 1: you like it doesn't have to be like that, but
- 53:53Speaker 1: I'm not coming in beyond today here. I'm going to
- 53:56Speaker 1: help you with this and I can get it all right.
- 53:59Speaker 1: We're gonna take a quick break. Um was it Christian? Yes,
- 54:03Speaker 1: Chris with a T, I a N. Christian bought us
- 54:06Speaker 1: lunch today and I did order in celebration of Eric

- 1:04:32Speaker 1: gonna be Eric. He's gonna call in. He call him
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: when he's proven right about things like I'm here in

- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I read an email? Oh you can read as many

- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Lady I I've returned from South America with great news
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: for Eric. Whilst in Chili, I visited some wineries and
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: paid special attention to cork sniffing decorum. I do here

- 1:05:15Speaker 1: and the entire nation of Chile as on Tea America. Well,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: I mean, I've just he went to Chili and saw
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: people sniffing quarks. But I listened to that. It's it's
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: not the way to go. You call them Somemalians, so
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: you don't even know how to pronounce it, right, Well,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: all right, that's that's fine, that's funny. I think that's
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: a thing. Is all a bunch of bs. Like really,

- 1:06:04Speaker 1: and we went to this restaurant and my wife and
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: I said, oh, you know, he said, I can I
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: recommend the house Cabernet. I said, yeah, I'll check it out.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I'll have that. My wife had it too. So he
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: gets there and he pours it and he says to
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: my wife, is just to your liking. And I'm like,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you recommended it. We don't even know what it's supposed
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: to taste wine, so how can we say whether it's
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: good or bad. You know, you might have a bad
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: reaction to it. You might not like the you know,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: to a stringe in or whatever. I guess I know
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: it was Stag's leap. It's a good cat stags leap. Yeah.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I love wine. Wine is my choice of drink white
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: reds because you're a Capricorn. Oh my god. It's a
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: kind of wine. It depends on like what I'm eating. Yeah,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: So I've turned into one of those where I'm like pairing. Yeah.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: So if I'm eating like a burger or spaghetti or
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: something with red meat, steak, red one right one, yeah,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: like a keyanti or something I like Keyanti. It's like
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: it's like that. I like that, But otherwise I'm just
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: kind of like it's a red, it's a white. Yeah,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I like red wine. I'm not a big White wine
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: just tears me up. But I still say, like, I like,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: if I'm outside, like, for example, Saturday, it's gonna be
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: ninety one. If I was outside in that situation, I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: have to go white because red one is too hard
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: about rose? Now? Is it heavier? Makes it both red wine? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: it is that why I think so hot. You want
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: something a little bit lighter, lighter, fruitier. It makes sense. Yeah,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: who who here is like, you know, part of this
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: whole new Seltzer craze hard Seltzer year old big kids. Yeah,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: I like the high nuons. Have to admit the vizzys.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Seltzer's are unbelievable. They're so good. Are these like wine
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: coolers back in the day. Give you a quick one.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I won't. I won't commander it on Eric's day. But
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: so I go on golf on the other day. So
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: I go into the beer refrigerator downstairs in the garage.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: My you know, my diet miller boxes there, right, So
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I go and I thought I had like six or
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: seven empty just an empty box. Oh so will I
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: go all right? I mean, at least be smart enough
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: to throw away the box when you're done, and I'll
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: just think that maybe I had finished them. No, No,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I swear, I swear I didn't. I swear, I swear
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I didn't drink him. I didn't drink him. I don't
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: even drink those. We just drink the sell like and
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: that he's telling me, what is it the busies? What
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: did you say? Busy? That's the brand I like of
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: the cel I tell me all the stuff that he
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: does drink. That's all I drank. That's all I care about. Yeah, like,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: oh good, what about your good argument? Oh? Your question
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: is what about your friends? That's what I said. It
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: was either you or your friends, and said, oh t J. Yeah,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: TJ's fifteen. I can't ignore the fact that he might
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: be doing it too. What we just learned is that
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Paul has a fridge dedicated to beer. Yeah, you don't
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: have a refrigerator when you g you never you never did. Well,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: that's because you lived in the mansion. You had like
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: seven I did have the little friend, Butler just kept
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: it somewhere. Well, that's that's the bar for that's a
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: different Yeah, that's all I have. Geeves, bring me another middle.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I have an old refrigerator that's in the garage. It's
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: mostly does it have that handle that cut you pull
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: out like the old No, it's not that old. But
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: it's mostly for excess like storage and the freezer like
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: meat chicken, yeah, chicken. Yeah. Well I have a I
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: have a one of those freezers, a meat locker. Yeah,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: extra freezer with like beef hanging on. It's an extra
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: freezer with the ice. It's not just for beer just
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: for beer either. You said it was the beer fridge.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: I call it the beer fridge because that's what's mostly
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: in the refrigerator is is uh drinks once again but
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: never always bear fridge. But the point don't mean what
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: they say, right. The point of the refrigerator is more
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: so for storage. U. There's a lot of soda in
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: there too, in water. There's cases of water in there.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: They have hard soda now too. Yeah that doesn't to
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: me seem like a good thing. Yeah now, but it's
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: all like the kids. Like when I was in nice school,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: zema came out. That was a big one to get cool.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Isn't it really targeted to younger people? Fruity? I think, yeah.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: And it doesn't really taste like alcohol. Honestly, it tastes
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: like seltzer water. That's why I can't drink it, because
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: it doesn't taste like alcohol. You have like nine and
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: all of a sudden you're like, whoa, I guess there
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: was some alcoholic Yeah, and your glories too. Yeah, I'm
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: gonna say that. I was gonna say that next. It's
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: like low car right calories. That's what I liked about
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: the high noons. If you're sitting out at the beach,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: you don't, you know, get that bloated kind of feeling
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you would have if you had like a giant, you know,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Pinut Colatta or something, but Pinut Colada. You know. It
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: was the other one that came out when I was
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: in high school where the ices like the bud Ice,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: which had had more content I guess, of alcohol, I guess.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: And that was a big one for like the high
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: school kids to be you only need two, you only
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: need two of those. It's like four peers. And it's
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: interesting because at first the wave was like the um bud,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: like ritas, like limeritas, I did not like. I didn't
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: like those either. I didn't like that, but that was
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: a wave at first. People loved those. Bud's got a
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: bunch of stuff right now, like that fruit hard lemonade.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Remember the hard lemonade thing? Yes, another one, twenty seven
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: of them, and all of a sudden you're like, whoa,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I guess there wasn't flying all right, back to the phones. Um,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: let's go to Nicholas and California. Hey, Nicholas, Nicholas, Nick,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Saint Nick, good job, Hardy, he's gone. Then we'll go
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: to Chris with a T I A N. What's up? Christian? Thanks?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Hold on, thanks for lunch, for lunch, Hey everybody, Hey,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: you're welcome. Absolutely so we're gonna send Eric off Friday.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Can't believe he's actually eating It's amazing. I had a pizza,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: come on, yeah, he had a nice what what was
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: on it? A Greek pizza was leave olives, feta, cheese,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: and tomatoes. Okay, it's good, not really pizza, but okay, twigs,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: it was delicious. Christian, thank you very much for your
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: generosity and your long time support. Are you welcome? You know,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: um sixteen years of such a long time I've been
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: listening to the show since two thousand and six, and
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: you know, I'm sure everybody sort of feels this way.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: The older you get, the you know, the more you
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: the less likely you're sort of friendly in a change.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I hate when things change now it's like, you know,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: I'm so used to things. But Eric, I'm happy for you.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: I really hope you know, you really find you your
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: niche to do something that you that you really love.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Thank you and a huge thank you to you. Uh,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: you know, on a personal level to me, Um, you
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: actually Eric actually connected me and my wife Um with
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: our travel agent for our honeymoon and good pregnant, good pregnant.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Pause there, well, comedic timing, Well done there. I thought
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: he was, like, what a story, Eric connected you with
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: his wife? I thought he paid like a nutra that's
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: that's down the road. I never heard that story, Eric,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Your and she was that Abercrombie and Fish. No, it
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: was not. She's a she's a an independent like specialist
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: for that region of the world that they wanted to
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: go to. Nice Christian asked me for some advice. I
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: pointed him in her direction, and uh, you've been on
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: a couple of trips now with her right right. Yeah,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: actually used it last year as well, so she's uh,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: it's really great. And like I said, I appreciated the connection.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: So Fred, you know you can't make fun of Arab
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: for being a world travel because he's got the connection. Oh,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I know he likes to travel the world, that's for sure. Yeah.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: So that's it. That's all I had. Everybody can join
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: the rest of the days. We love you man, stay
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: in touch. Thanks for launch. Christian. You know that the
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: most important part of the show is still here, so
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: don't worry about it. Thanks. Thanks, appreciate that. Todds to
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: North Carolina. Hey you guys on this room, just for
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: dropping you guys, I had. I got called by her school.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Where our boy is he? He was kindergarten gym class,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: round face first into a wall. Oh I hate those calls,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: all right, the old block. Yeah he's good. He's the
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: children at that age they just balanced. They don't seem
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: to get hurt. Did you get a bloody nose? Yes, badly,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: so they had to pack it with stuff. He didn't
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: like that, but he kind of was showing off his
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: battle scar off. Remember when you're chick. We got bloody noses,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Like I can't remember the last time I've had a
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: bloody nose. Now you know, Ronald Robinson socked you in
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: the stomach. Yeah, So my question is if you guys
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: been listening to some of the media in your neck
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: of the woods talking about how there's disgruntled players on
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: the team and how the coaching his staff and such
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: huge disarray and how things are just not looking good
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: for the next season. And I'll actually say the guy's name.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I wasn't going too, but it was Greg Badard who
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: was just complaining constantly, and I want to hear your
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: guys take on what he had to say. Thanks, guys,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: pick it off there, all right, Thanks Todd. I don't
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: have to be honest. I did not see that. I'm
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: not aware of it. I'm not aware of any of
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: this other than there's definitely in person up that they
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: could be in for a long season. That part I
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: think is universal around here. But I haven't heard I
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: haven't heard any any of that from anybody, So I apologize. Yeah,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: I actually just heard about it this morning because Tom
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Carrn had me on his podcast, Oh Yeah, Little Tribute,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: and he actually brought that up. That that article. I
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: think it was an article that that that Greig had written,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: and just going off of that, I was like, Uh,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: I don't know if. I mean, we're not privy to
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: what's going on conversation wise down the hall here. But
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: it wouldn't surprise me if there's some consternation about not
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: knowing what roles are, even if it's players not knowing
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: what the coach's roles are, coaches not knowing what their
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: own roles are, playing the silly game where you can't
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: talk about it in front of the media, Like, I
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised if there's some of that still. But
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: I don't know if it's causing any sort of got
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: a when I got a feeling when the all the
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: players are here and it's time for the just to coach,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the players will know who their coaches. I hate to
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I just can't imagine that they're going to leave that
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: to chance, you know. I just think it's been a
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: little bit sensationalized in terms of like who's in charge,
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Bills in charge? You guys like Bill is, Yeah, who
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: what are the position coaches? We know who's coaching what positions.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: We don't know who's calling the plays. That's totally valid
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: and to wonder about and does that make sense? But
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Bill's in charge like and that, and so it's it
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: just got a little bit over the top with everybody
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: just continually bringing it up and over and over, and
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: it's like, you know, how much is there actually a
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: marching order of like don't say anything, you don't don't
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: stay Like I think there is some of that. I
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: know that there's something. I think there is. I think
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: he tells them, let's not talk about that right now,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: right but like it isn't like Matt, don't mention that
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: you're coaching the offensive line like he said that, Joe
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Judge talked about being with the quarterbacks. Like I totally
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: get it. With the play calling, it's just been that
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: part of it has been so blown up into they
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: don't know who's calling them, they don't know who's coaching
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: any of the positions, they don't know who's in charge.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: They're like a ship adrift in the night. They have
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: no idea what's going on. And like that's just over
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: the top and ridiculous. So I'm with you on the
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: play calling, and I do have concerns about that, but
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: but you know, be reasonable about what you do know.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: And you do know that Bill Belichick is in charge
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: and he is the one who's figuring it out. Chester's
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: in Portland. So does that mean they lied on Monday
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: and Tuesday? What do you mean when they said they
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: don't know? I don't. I don't think they do know.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I've moved fred on that one. I don't think he
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: said that play calling. Yeah, I don't think he said
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: that about play I don't know. So I feel like
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: that I'm just playing devil, you know, I agree with you.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: To me, I'm just worried about who's calling plays. I
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: know somebody will, right, that's not really a huge concern.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: But just for people who are worried like they don't
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: even know who's calling plays, well, then they don't, right,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I mean, according to you, I think they do. I
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: think that that whoever's calling the plays knows it, but
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: you guys don't. I don't, and I think it's so
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: is that not worthy of a concern. I don't even
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: know who's calling plays, I think, so I just point
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: I don't think it is. I don't. I mean, I
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: think it's a concern when we get to the season.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: But I'm sure that they have a plan. I just
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: think that they're so focused on today, what do we
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: do today to get better? And he's not interested in
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: introducing that whole dynamic into things yet. I'm sure they'll
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: figure it out when they have to figure it out.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Concerns about that, but I don't know if he's revealed
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: it yet. I don't know if he's revealed it or
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: My concerns aren't about whether or not they have a plan,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: my concerns about what the plan is. All right, Chester,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: what's up? Hey, what's up? How you been a long time? Yeah?
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: All time? Yeah? I wanted to call in and uh
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: and wish Eric a farewell. M In fact, I wrote
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: an email earlier because my work schedule is still crazy.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: It's really tough to call in, but um, I just
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: wanted to say Eric, thanks man. You know, I've been
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: engaging with the show for over a decade and and
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: you know, it really really stuck to see you go. Um,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: but you know, definitely wish you the best. You know,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: people have been rehashing the favorite Eric moments, and my
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: favorite all time is that epic verbal evisperation of marking
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: the bay. Yeah, guys, remember that? Yeah, absolute radio goals.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: It's not bad, it was it was. It was a
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: moment of glory for every listener just hearing that guy
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: shut up. I mean, it was finally the one moment.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: The guy was never the same after that and he
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: was just maybe kudos. I'll never forget that. Um So, anyway,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: I just wanted to say thanks for the memories, man,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: and you know, it's just so awesome to meet you
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: on those road occasions Seattle, Seattle, San Diego, San Diego
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: to amazing times and uh and just one more snapshot too.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I'll never forget walking the streets of Seattle and seeing
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: you and Philo and Fred and Silberman. You guys are
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: all eating breakfast and I was probably the only guy
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: in Seattle to spot you guys through the window. And
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I remember that fantastic stuff. I remember that. I remember
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: that very distinctly. Yeah, yeah, a long time ago, like
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: that was uh yeah, that was oh eight, Yeah, that
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: was a long time. I was there. I was there.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: But anyway, I just wanted to wish you about as
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: the personal tribute for you. Today, I went on the
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: pro Shop and I bought some apparel. Yes, hopefully, hopefully
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: you bought the pat Patriot logo and my honor. I did. Yeah,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: old school, I'll be wearing pride. I'll down the road guys.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Thanks obviously it was Thanks. Thanks. Jester uh Jim at
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Pittsburgh has a little um suggestion for Eric or a reminder.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: He said, on your last day at PU, if anyone
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: posts images of your colon, please be sure to include
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: a watermark on that. You don't want some to range
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Bill's fan making money off. That's true, you don't want that. God.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: I was trying to think of some of my favorite
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Eric moments, and I realized that some of my favorite moments,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: generally um with everybody here on the show are sometimes
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: when funny things happen while we're on the air, and
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: it's like the looks and the like the off air
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: kind of look that you have with each other about
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: something that maybe was going on in the field or
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: something you can't necessarily talk about right but that you're
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: kind of having a side conversation with you, or like
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: our eyes would just meet on something and we will
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: both start laughing and everybody knows immediately what we're talking about,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: but we can't say right right right. That's why I'm
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: not really an advocate of the video portion Yeah yeah
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Paul in London, Um you sound my guys and Eric
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: for the final time as the person who revealed Eric's
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: taste for painting scantily clad women back in oh nine,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: I thought it was only fair that I wrote in
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: for his final show. It may have been the butt
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: of jokes but for years, but Eric was an excellent
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: writer and grew into the show with ease. Singing the
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: national anthem in Oa just after his somewhat hilarious return
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: from Egypt was his coming out party and he never
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: looked back, especially once he who shall not be named left.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Thank you, Eric for all in all the best in
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the future. You will be missed. You know what's great
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: about that guy? Paul? Pauland London was my first Twitter follower. Wow?
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Really yeah? Ye? What number did he fall on the blocked?
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: He was blocked? There was my first blocks blocked. No, No,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: he's the first. I remember. Look at this. You can
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: just block people. Okay, it must be a capricorn thing
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: because I love to block people as well. My girls
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: see blocking sends a message it's just mute and they're
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: just let them yell into the abyss. No, I don't want.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: I want them to know. I want them to know. See,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I don't want to give people the pleasure. I don't
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: think they can have the pleasure. They can have the pleasure.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: It's fine. No, No, I think blocking them gives them
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: the pleasure. Yeah, I'm I'm gonna tell you how many
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: of my friends immediately got him the block, immediately text
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: or email that so and so just blocked me. I
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: finally got him to to cave. It's worth having them
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: enjoy that, to not have their negativity in your life.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: It's what's true. But you can you can ignore them,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: I know, but I don't want to. I'd rather they
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: know you're not worthy sending it out. It's a problem.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: I do both. I blocked in you. Yeah, what choose
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: just concerning yourself with other people of thinking, oh, just
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: do your job. It's like self care blocking people, honestly
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: doom scrolling. Yeah, Johnny in La Eric, you'll be missing you.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Oh nine. My sister and I had the chance to
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: meet you, as well as others in Denver, and aside
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: from the results of that game itself, it was an
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: incredible trip. Contrary to popular opinion, you were a great
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: guy as a matter of fact, the truth about your
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: actual personality was exposed on said trip as Andy was
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: a no show, Fred was a grump and you and
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Paul were both super personal. I was a grumpy. I
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: didn't see it taking that turn. I didn't see. Well,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: you had a few drinks in you, so you know
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: you tend to loosen. I said it many times. I'm
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: the man of the people. Andy claims he's right, and
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: he wouldn't come out. He wouldn't come out. We literally
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: dukes had a party at this huge sports bar in London.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: The first time we played was awesome and they had
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: a section for us that was capped off by velvet rope.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: We were the VIP and Andy stayed there the entire night.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Didn't get I had to go and get the beers
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: every single time. He wouldn't go out because wouldn't ropes,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: We wouldn't mingle stayed in the champagne room and Fred's
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: always card out. By the way, did you say you
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: were grumpy? Yeah, in Denver, you're never grumpy. Yeah, maybe
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: you weren't. I have to be honest, you were lightheaded
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: from that with our fans lightheaded fans, Yeah, that's different. Yeah,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: maybe we're busy. Fred knew it was going to be
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: a bad weekend. Josh at the buses, I can, but
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: in defensive Andy in London, like you know, standing behind
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: the velvet rope, but all night, like I heard, look
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: at his bloody head like I can, he wouldn't want
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: to come out. Yeah, it was take your lumps up
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: and friends, though now fairly well, Prince everything, sweet Prince,
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: that's your name everything? Okay, great line there on Paul's
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: absolutes that aren't absolute never always beer fridge in areas
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: classic from mister Cable. Nay, I really feel like I
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: need to like redo everything that I ever said, Like
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: I can't speak in any kind of exaggeration ever right
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: about anything with you people. In the words of bugs Bunny.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: But hey, I am am, I am. I gonna need
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: to learn something about college football to understand what Tamara
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: is saying. That sounds like a lot of work. Yeah,
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: she's probably the biggest college football show, no offense. She
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: was working in that I know, in that industry, That's
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I've never think of it. Well, No,
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I covered a few college football games, but not real college. Yeah,
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Northeastern one double day right, I really blame growing up
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: here and not having a college team and never feel
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: I'm BC and I hate BC. That's the only it's
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: the only major school, and I've always disliked BC's Yeah,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: I will say I like I looked at colleges based
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: off of they had a football team. I wasn't going
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: there if they didn't have one. Okay, why did you
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: choose Tech at? And then also just Virginia Tech was
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: really good. That was going to be really mean. Then
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: when you said that, Andy and you still went to
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: it was going to be mean. I like Michael Vick
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Virginia Tech was that Like he was from where I'm
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: from too, so like that that was like also huge,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: he was incredible. Yeah, just uh Anthony even I appreciated
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: that when he was Yeah, and Tyrod Taylor, Like when
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I was looking at school that Tyrod was the quarterback.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: So yeah, before he gets along punctured by some doctor
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Anthony and Hertfordshire, England, Hertfordshire, what's that Hartfordshire? Okay. I
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: wanted to wish Eric every success and whatever he decided
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: to do next. My first email to the show was
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: read out by Eric and Paul when the two of
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: them were presenting the show. Eric, You'll be much missed,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: and I want to thank you for all the enjoyment
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: you've given to us Patriots fans over the years. Well
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: you know what happens when somebody writes pats Yeah you
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: want to I always want to say Patriots, So I'll
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: say Patriots pots. Um. Very best wishes. Thank you, Anthony,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Anthony and Hertfordshire cheers. You're here, yeah um, Johnny from Ireland.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: I just wanted to say thank you Eric for all
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: his years of service. My first ever episode was an
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Eric solo show and your State just after the eight
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: draft when we had drafted DRAWD Mayo. I never did
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: a solo show. I believe I am the only one. Yeah,
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: I've done a solo Well you you had started the show.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Well you've had to started the show. I've done entire
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: shows by myself. Okay, So Fred and I are the
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: only ones that have done solo shows. You've not fun.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: You've always been my favorite and I wish you all
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: the best. Thank you, John. Hopefully you can visit Ardan
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: soon and have more time to explore the country. Ye
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: here to that too. I loved Ireland. Can't wait to
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: go back to have anywhere circle for a trip. I
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: mean it's a long list, Deuce, it's a long list,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: but it won't be until at the earliest, probably next year,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: to get outside of one twenty eight at something beautiful
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: out there. Yeah, that's why that's right here this time
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: here especially. I mean, I'll give you some ideas though,
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: like Australia, now New Zealand. What do you know, Oh,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I would go to Australa, to Australia, go to New Zealand,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: but not Australia. I go to aust Man Why just
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: to be different. No, it's like, what's what's what's in Australia? Steph?
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: Are you? Are you being serious right now? Everybody that
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: goes to Australia comes back and says, oh, we drank
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: so much. So that's it. That's it. I can do
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: that anyway. I don't, Oh my god, but we have
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: so many It's like America. It's like if I want
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: to go overseas, I want to go someplace that's like different. Okay,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: I got a different one for you. Then India India? No,
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: why now I know it's in India too congested. I like,
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: too many people too many people. The food is actually
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: like the food and people like Indian food. No, oh
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: my god, yeah, I want to go like I was
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: from the guy who won't eat anything. A lot of good,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: a lot of sea food, poultry, and all the proteins
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: the word in other words, all the food. I'm doing fine,
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: I'm healthy. Even need a pepperoni? No, I was wrong
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: with you. I will not. What's your meats? Back to
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: the phone, C Jason, KC. What's up? Cj? Hey, what's
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: going on? Guys? Hey? I just wanted to give a
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: big farewell uh to Eric, thank you so much and
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: my first show I ever listened to. Eric started the
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: show solo, I didn't you didn't finish, so solo? Okay,
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: you started solo? Okay, I can that those ye first
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: introduction to the show was Eric by himself and it
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: came back right. I just yeah, yeah, you get stuck around.
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: So I just wanted to say congratulations on your next
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: deep thanks to throw one quick question out to everybody.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Now that Eric is gonna be gone, who is going
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: to take over the hosting role when Fred has to
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: be out for something and camera I'm looking at tomorrow.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, yeah, do you know how to read
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: answer phones. That's the hard part. You gotta press a button. Yeah,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: we're gonna rename the show yesterday today, and yeah, I
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: love it. I love it. Well, congratulations the game guys,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: thanks so much. Thanks appreciate it. It's my hat to you, sir. Yeah,
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: I had to find somebody with less sense of humor
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: than Eric. Oh oh my god, you're gonna have. You
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: gotta be able to take it here. You gotta be
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: able to dish it too, So don't be afraid. Yeah,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: that's that's gonna be on your resume. You're a number
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: two when friend's not there, Princess. Am I allowed to
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: block friend? Yeah you can, ye. Patty's an agawam Hey, Patty, cousin,
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Patty Patty. He goes then to me, what hey, thanks
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: for the recipe. By the way, I haven't tried it yet,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: but I am going to make it at some point.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, And I'm telling you what's flaming. It looks
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: good for those of you guys enjoying good food, not
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: just like you know, meet them everything else. I gave
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: there a good black team because I liked that. I
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: was like, if you don't eat, you starved. So whatever
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: was put in front of me, I had to eat.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: So I wanted to say congratulations and good luck on
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: thank you, and I wanted to scare my my favorite
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: Salivino memory, which was a personal memory when me and
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: um Pat Melvine and and Christian were in studio prior
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: to the twenty eighteen season opener. I remember that and
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: I had two great looks that day. When we first
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: came into the studio. He just looked like he wanted
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: to kill me for some reason. And then um, it
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: was great. We got to see all of us, the
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: guys that we're doing Bred and Eric get into it,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: like you were thinking, Eric, crap about where you get
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: the shirt? Where do you get your phone? I was
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: going to say, my favorite Patty phone call was the
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: one that he sounded like he was veried at the
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: bottom of the sea. What is going on with your connection? Okay,
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Central Mass All right? But I, um, you said that
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: he mail ordered him and I just put it in
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: and said, of that mail Ali, and like, who that's
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: what it's like, Yeah, Hey, that's how it is. That's
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: how it is in the studio. That's rough. Sometimes I
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: haven't heard from this personal time. Jamie in Houston. What's up, Jamie. Yeah,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: the Jamie from Houston Submarine is surface to wish mister
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Erica a great uh great success in your future endeavors.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: So thank you, sir. You've been You've been a great
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: part of the show for a long long time and
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: have have absolutely you know, made me laugh, you know,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: together and singularly. And the one of the best PFW
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: moments I don't know if it but when you absolutely
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: torch Mark from the bay, that really funny Mark that
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: was That was a classic moment. Yeah, and then and
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: then one last piece you know, uh, you know, I
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: got to do it and uh, you know parting words
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: from Judge smiles to use it to grin when your
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: ship comes in and you have the stock mark your feet.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: But the man worthwhile is the scale with a smile
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: when his pants aren't too tight in his seat. Thanks Jamie.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: I don't know if you could say that stuff anymore.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Hams and Hams in Toronto, how to East Gal and
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: the rest of the PU crew. I haven't written in
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: a couple of years, but still listen regularly as I
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: have for fifteen but as someone who has always appreciated
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Eric's contribution, to the show. I want to join the
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: chorus of well wishers and send east Gal positive vibes
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: as he heads off into the next chapter of his life.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Like many of your devoted longtime listeners, I will sorely
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: miss the dynamic between you guys, Eric's good natured eccentricity,
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: the draft day grumbling in the skeptical perspective he brought
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: to the show to balance out Fred and Mike's optimism.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: In my opinion, true camaraderie is hard to find in
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: life in broadcasting, and I want to thank Escal and
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: all you guys for years of genuine laughs, football expertise,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: and especially the inuberal and cynical arguments ending in right
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: happy trails in a twenty one harumph salute to Escal,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: and I hope to hear a cameo or two from
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: you down the road. Well, we'll see if we can
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: make that happen at some point. But I appreciate the
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: kind words I told Sal I needed at the end
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: of Patriots games. I needed his pun of the game,
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: Like what was my headline? I had his headline? Just
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: give me a pun from from the from the result.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Don't share that with me, keep me off that text chain. Okay, no,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: but I feel like as you go off into the world,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: you're gonna like run into cork experience or things like,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: oh were specific to this show, and you feel like,
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: I gotta tell the guys, I'm gonna be like, I'm
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: gonna be like the listeners. I'm gonna be like I
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: was right. I was right. Um. You know I should
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: say though that if people really do want to wish Eric, well,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: maybe a final plug for Chestnut Animal Ventures. What is that? Eric,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: We'll give you the floor. You can explain to tomorrow.
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: What that Eight years ago? I eight years ago this month,
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: actually I established my own charitable organization. It's called Nutmeg
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Animal Welfare. Oh uh and uh. It's a it's a
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: travel based charity where whenever I go places around the world,
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: around the country, UM, I always come across UM instances
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: of you know, animal cruelty, neglect, need, and so I
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: decided back then that I wanted to do something about it,
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: and so I started this charity where now whenever I
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: go somewhere, I have funds and resources at my disposal
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: to UM to help out animals. That shows up with
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: a case of cat food and writes off the trip
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: for a charity. The cynical part of that is not true.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: But like just to take a fifty dollar bill and
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: put it in like the dog's mouth, like here you go, buddy,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: here you go, Here go ahead. You should give out
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: the way to donate so people can say good bye that. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: the obviously the pandemic hit hard with not being able
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: to travel and do that kind of thing. Um, but
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: lou of Flowers, please send me. Yeah no, uh we
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: we our doors are still open, uh you know, hanging
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: on by a thin thread at this point thanks to
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: the damn pandemic. But Nutmeg dot global is the web address.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: So if anybody feels like they want to contribute and
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: hopefully down the road, I'll be able to travel again
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: and do some stuff. I actually, uh you know, we
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: partner with an organization in Jerusalem, and so I was
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: able to, um have ordered and delivered some supplies that
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: they needed earlier this year thanks to some of the
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: funds that we had left over from the past couple
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: of years. So um, even though I wasn't traveling, I
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: was able to do something for them. Um. So yeah,
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: if anybody wants to help and contribute, keep that dream
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: alive for me, it's nutmeg dot global, not meg dot global. Okay,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: Prestige worldwide sounds good, not to be confused with chestnut,
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: not just different, not meg okay. All right, thank you, Fred. Yeah,
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: I figured you know what, that little plug that would
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: be nice. We're gonna need someone to yell out numbers.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: We will taking attendance. Who's I mean, it's a tough job.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: I don't know. I how are we gonna know how
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: to pronounce anything here on the show? I mean every
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: everytime someone calls from like another country. I think the
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: show will be just fine with that, but I'm worried.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: I'm worried about attendance five seven. Can you come every
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: day and practice and then just leave ten minutes later? Uh,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Let's see Sean and Vancouver next weekend. Think we'll miss you, Eric.
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: The show will never be the same. I hope you
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: get to travel to amazing places, get a literary agent
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: that secures a good publishing deal, and save many of
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: this planet's creatures. Here here was Andy's last show like this?
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: A lot of people call you no, yes, it was,
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: oh yeah, I don't but they didn't have as many
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: nice things. I know he's a character though. Yeah, we
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: have one Monday. You got a moment on my Monday practice?
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: What it says? Really thought it was until I thought
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: it was nexty? Third? Isn't that Monday? Oh? Yeah it
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: is all right? Yeah, we have an o TA next week.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: You know we could talk about football for you know
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: that don't exciting? Yeah, brief respite first kind of practice
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: that we have access to. Well there's a practice, but
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: is it a media availa practice? Media availability? Third? Okay,
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: maybe they changed it. They I want to do that. Um,
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: let's see Bennett from Des Moines, Washington, Des Moines, Washington,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: yess Moines. It's not like Iowa De Moines never heard
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: of it. Sad to hear Eric is leaving, but hope
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: the next phase is a good one. Since we're on
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: the topic of movies, we were my girl my girlfriends
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: Star Wars either, but to help her understand the storyline,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: we're watching the movies chronologically rather than when the movies
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: came out. She can't seem to understand why Darth Darth Maul,
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Boba Fette our fan favorite since they're bad guys typically
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Star Wars Virgin also Tomaraw, How do you feel about
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: fans wearing team jerseys asking for friends. Yeah, this is
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: a big one. This is a big one. How do
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: you feel about grown men jersey not even not even
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: at games, just in general, doesn't doesn't bother you either way, No,
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: you know, to each his own. Or is it something
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: like if I showed up with a mac Jones number
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: ten jersey? Like is that okay? Yeah, okay, I think
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: that's great, all right, Megan Megan hated it hates Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: she said, no grown man should be wearing the name
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: of another man. It's her hot take. It was her
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: hot Yeah, that was her hot take. Interesting, Yeah, okay,
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: So hopefully her husband isn't like walking around in a
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: Tatum jersey exactly, yeah, exactly, which is possible. He was
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: a big Celtics fan. He he was a huge Celtics
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: that's possible he might be wearing a Tatum jersey. That
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: would not be good for her. Okay, Well, I mean
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: the funny now, she works in like a whole industry
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: that they all kind of dress up and right, So basically,
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: if you're like a grown man in going to a
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: sporting event, you can only wear like a Patriots T shirt.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I think I think she was saying the guy, but
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: I think she was saying like in general, like people
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: go out in public wearing jersey. I think she's okay
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: with it actually in the stadium, but just not she did.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: I think I think she was a little less on
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: that one. The problem was like Rando walking down like
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: at the mall Tuesday, right, Yeah, he's just got his
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: as as just your every day where his Jude on
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: jersey with the red sleeves underneath Tuesday. It never it
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: never bugged me. It's not my thing, but it never
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: bugged me. Yeah, I wouldn't do it unless it was alway.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: But you know, but that's different. That's throwback. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: but yeah that was Megan didn't like that. Yeah, that's
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: an interesting pet peeve. Yeah. Um, Eric from Amherstburgh now
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: er with a K now that Eric with the K's
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: leaving the sea takes his place as the right way
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: to spelling. Oh now, I'm more likely to happen on
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: your big adventures on changing himself to a tree to
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: save it and finding out it's infested with ants. It
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: ends up front page for stripping off his clothes in
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: a park or getting captured by poachers who call into
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: the show trying to convince fred to pay for his
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: ransom because they are listeners. Oh two by far. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: because I would love to go after some poachers and
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: I would give them one for that's I'm with you there. Yeah,
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: all the Camardos that get off on killing elephants, right,
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, we'll take a trip, Freddy and we'll
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: take on the poachers. I would shoot them. M We'll
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: shoot you no compunction? Yeah, yeah, I mean like what
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: is that? Yeah, you know, I I shot. I've gone
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: hunting a couple of times. I killed a partridge and
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: uh never that was a guy and I was like,
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: m Now. My dad told me too when he was
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: when he was young, he was hunting and he shot
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: a rabbit and he said it cried like a baby,
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: and he was like that listen, if I had to eat,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: you know, and I needed to kill to eat, all right,
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: but for sport, oh, just to kill a giant animal
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: like a partridge for sport or for profit, because a
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: lot of times the poachers are trying to sell that. Yeah,
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: I do see. There's a difference between poaching and just hunting.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: Like people that hunt like really hunted, don't. I mean,
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: it's not my thing, but I don't have I mean,
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: but poaching, like I'm not. I'm not doing it for
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: sport or anything. I'm just doing so I can make money. Yeah,
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: like that to me is a little I'm not a
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: fan of deer anymore. So I'm all for deer. Huh.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Well you go get those des plus they everywhere and
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: they're jumping into cars and they get them, get them. Yeah, wow,
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: we need to hate, need to talk. Why does he
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: not like deer either? He's definitely there was a time,
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: as you know that they're more afraid of him. Yeah.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Well there was a time when I was in a
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: car because we have a very right and they run
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: out in front of a car and they were almost
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: always at you know, when you when you get off
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: of ninety five and you make the turn, you stay
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: him in still ninety five, but you're kind of going
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: on one twenty eight there there was always deer in
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: that area and it would freak Matt out. Oh yeah,
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: just freak them the bleep up. Well, that's like I
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: when I moved back, I was driving home on Walpole
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: Street right, you know, or after Route one and the
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: deer ran into my car like and I'm watching it
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: in like slow motion. I'm like no, no, no, like
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: honking the horn, and the thing just ran right in
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: front of my car. I went over it. I called,
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: you know, the police, like, hey, I just head a deer.
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: I'm flye. The cop came. He had to shoot it
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: like eight times in the head. Like he's like, I've
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: never seen one like this before. But they had a
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: whole He's got a whole list of his text message
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: like people will come pick the meat up and man.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: So from that point on, I'm like, man, these deer everywhere,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: so you guys do whatever you gotta do with them. No,
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: Socks has a lot of phobias. Huh yeah, yeah, the flying,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: the flying now the deer. Oh, I was in the
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: flying deer. I was in the car with him. We
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: went to do the Devin mccordy and his brother feature
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: many years ago when Jason was still with Tennessee and
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: we're riding along in suburban New Jersey and it's like
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: dusk and we're mid conversation in the car. He's driving
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: because he loves to drive, and all of a sudden,
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god, oh
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: my god. And I'm like, what's the matter. There was
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: like nobody else on the road. I'm like, what what what? What?
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: He goes dear, dear, dear, eleven o'clock. I'm like, so
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: and he just that's when I first discovered his phobia,
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: and he almost panic attacked behind the wheel. I was like,
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: oh my god. You've heard stories of them, like on
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: the highway, you know, running out and crashing through there.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: I've seen them running across the h I hit a buck, yeah,
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: oh really yeah, and a jeep, which you know was
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: a bigger has a bigger, heavier front. You had your
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: spartan nail. I mean, the poor thing was huge, but
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: I nailed it in like it crawls off into the
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: woods like crawling. So I probably broke both its back
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: legs and just kept going, yeah, oh, hit a buck.
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: He may change. I mean, what are you gonna do?
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: I mean, what do you know? What are you gonna do?
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: I know, I didn't know what to do. I called
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: the police just because I was in my town, and
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: you know, apparently put him down. Turkeys. That's another David Andrews,
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: big turkey. I gotta get him over my like turkeys,
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: get rid of them. Turkeys to coyotes like seals artist sharks.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh really, you know, like the bigger your
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: turkey turkeys bring out the coyotes. The coyotes followed. Yeah,
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: you know, so I got I got turkeys wild turkeys
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: in my backyard because I've woods deep into my back
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: backyard and I've seen a coyote in my yard once.
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: Mostly foxes. They come out quite a bit. I was
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: about to and I didn't. I showed restraint. Okay, you're
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: a bigger you're a bigger man than me. What do
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: you want me to tell? You know? He's not h
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: Let's see Trent from Sylvan Lake. I really enjoyed Eric's
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: peace about the different stadium visits. Didn't think it was
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: something to get fired over. Just booked a trip to
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Glendale for December twelveth in Vegas for the eighteen perfect
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: going to rent a car drive to Vegas from Glendale.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: If any of you have some musty slash dow places
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: in the Glendale area, would love to hear about them.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: The Grand Canon I got nothing, that's all. Yeah. I mean,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: if you're out the Arizona and Canyon, Yeah, yeah, the
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: painted desert, the Grand Canyon um Sedona. Yeah, Sedona's nice.
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: That uh, that's that's I went out there with Silverman
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: and Keith and you know they're out there taking pictures. Yeah,
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Silverman loved it, you loved Let's keep moving, Let's keep moving.
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: And they just want to take pictures of everything desert.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: They're photographers. I know, what do you want? They just
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: want to take pictures there. They didn't even have waters.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Whose is it? Who took? But like you're walking, you're
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: walking in the desert and you're really thinking, like is
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: there a rattlesnake there? Like right right? Like that place
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: we stayed in for the Super Bowl, remember in Arizona.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: That was a nice place. That was a resort. Yeah,
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: And we had to to drive like half a mile
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: from the main road to get to this place, and
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: there's like cactie everywhere, and like we I think we
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: did we see a rattlesnake on that that trip. I'm not.
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: I don't think I did. I would have remembered, Yeah,
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: that was that was offense. But I just remember after
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: the game, you know, you have your post game party,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: and at that year we had it at the Hotel
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: Perfect and Pit bull was there, So I love it anyway,
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: Like you know, the postgame party is like a big thing,
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: like you need a ticket and everything, and they become
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: commodities and people are always trying to sneak in. I
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: just remember driving back from the game and we're going
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: up that road that you're talking about, and on either
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: side of you it was just freaking desert as far
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: as the I can see, and there are people walking
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: through the desert to get the party. Like where did
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: they come from? It? Yeah, like they look like it
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: looked like Night of the Zombie people. Yeah, they're coming,
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: Like where did they park? Like how are they out there? Yeah?
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: They move in to hide their numbers and single files
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: the numbers and how do they know they're not stepping
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: on a rota night because there's no light. It's not
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: like there's like, you know, street lamps out there in
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: the desert. Yeah, you just got the stars above. And
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: you remember like at night, sitting like outside, you heard
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: the you did you heard everything animals and you were
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: out there in the desert. Yeah, and that resort was
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: on the outskirts, so we really were resort was was nice.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: That was really nice to just go to Arizona and
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: think at the Vegas. There's plenty to do in Dage. Now,
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: what about the one we stayed at. It was it
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Scottsdale or near the Western Caroline the golf resort. Yeah,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: that was nice. That had the big pool. That was nicer.
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: That that's the beautiful that's the Lonnie Paxton. That's the
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: that's what I was talking about. We were talking. I'm
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: talking about the other one. That was the Indian one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: that was fine. But that's the one was beautiful, right, yeah,
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: but that was oh seven, we lost that one, right,
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: the other one we want correct, right, Carol one was beautiful.
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: Well that good thing. We don't have cameras in their
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: That was a that was a golf resort. Well, that's
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: why I liked it. Yeah, And you stayed there on
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: that trip back in three, stayed there for the four
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: day We went four days travaganza. That's when we we golfed.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: When you you were golf on with Gil I mean
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: well Gino and uh no, it was me Maury Gino
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: and uh Roger that time that that Gino was gonna
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: slap Brian. I ought to slap you. Counting his strokes.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: That was Yeah, they get into it. Yeah, it was
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: Brian keeping track. What could you imagine what Gino? No?
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: Gino accused Brian of cheating. Huh and oh no, no,
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: no around, you're right, Brian accused Gino right and Gill
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: and Gil said I ought to slap you. That was
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: something different. That wasn't that. No, this is Tryan makes
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: friends in a variety of He played golf with Gino,
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: me and Brian, and Brian accused Gino of cheating. He
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: gave him like are you sure? Yeah, because one yeah,
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: we were in the woods and then Gino's like, you know,
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: we're not playing. I talked to him upset, and this
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: is why Andy and I just played separately. What you're
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: talking about it? Yea city at the bar, they get
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: into a baseball argument and Brian Brian called Gills something
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: and Gills right, was Kansas City. Yeah. By the way, Paul,
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: my dad really enjoyed your piece on one telling kudos. Yeah,
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: I got a lot of feedback on that, thanks, babe.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: Hang around for a little while. Uh, let's see Trent
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: and Sylvan Lake really enjoy one. Eric, I've been listening
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: to you for fifteen years. Uh, and boy are my
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: ears tied. Way to go. I hope nothing but the
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: best for you, and please call into the show from
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: time to time. Thank you always for being yourself. I
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: know it's early, but what do you guys think this
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: team's record will be this year? And what do you
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: think it would be with Andy Reid coaching? It's about
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: the same, it's the same. Yeah, I don't think the
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: coach has got a problem. Yeah, I don't think the
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: coach is a problem. They're gonna be right around five
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: hundred again. I think I'm optimistic ten ten wins, ten seven,
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: that's optimistic. That's my optimistic. Yeah, but I don't I mean,
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: I could say my optimistic take was fourteen and three.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: That's that's all. I'm not saying that that's delusion. But
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I feel like they'll be I mean, they should be
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: in the mix again, getting the mix for the playoffs again,
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: and don't have a don't peak against bad teams in November.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Peak at the end. And you know, then I think
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: it's just I think that the way the season ended
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: is just really colored this offseason so much because I
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: do think that they're not to you know, not to
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: say that that it was great, but I think the
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: way it ended, the punt, the losses that having it,
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: you know, right there for the taking. I think a
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: lot of people are you know, just it comes up constantly,
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: and I think that, you know, as much as I
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: think going into the season, if everybody said all right,
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: they're gonna win ten games, they're gonna make the playoffs,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: you know, generally people say, wow, all right, turn around
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: rookie quarterback. But you know, when you actually watch it,
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: it's you know, more negative than that, and you deservedly
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: so to some extent. But I think I think there
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: are some positive things from last year that they can
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: carry over. Robin, New York. I'd be remiss if I
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: didn't write into wish Eric well escal will be greatly
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: missed for his team insight, quick wit, and of course
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: his assertion that the Watching McCall it is the most
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: underappreciated candy bar on the market, despite friend's assertion that
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: it tastes like sawdust. Best of luck in your future endeavors,
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: and long live the Watching McCall it. Yes, one comment
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: on the team. There has been shatter about a positionless defense,
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: but it appears that may have a position less coaching staff.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: Is it really possible that this is actually happening with
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: a second year quarterback that is crucial to the future
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: of the franchise. No, this is all hyperbole by writers.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: It is I think they're going to have position coaches
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: and no one has said that they won't write right,
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: So it's not hyperbole by writers. Oh, come on, you
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: think writers have said they're not going to have offensive
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: coaches or they don't like the fact that Joe j
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: Matt Patricia are the offensive coaches. No, those aren't the
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: same thing. There are writers who are, well, I don't
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: saying that they they're saying they're going to have position
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: but bewildered at the fact that no one, No, not
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: that bewilderment. That bewilderment is Joe Judge and Matt Patricia.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: That's some, but there are others have said, I can't
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: believe that they have a named position coaches yet. Yeah,
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: there are some that say they have said that, Mike,
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: can you help me out here? Last week, it's both
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: last week on the on the tweets, we talked about this.
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: It can be, but it's not. We talked about this
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: last week five minutes of the show always happens when
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: when you just have to get them and just show them.
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: When the assistant coaches talked, we I had made a
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: comment to you, like because I wasn't here on Monday
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: when the assistant coaches talked and I read I was.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: I read a tweet from somebody who said they're not
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: divulging any in the information. And I said, that's funny
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: because I read a tweet from Mike Reis that said,
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: Joe Judge flat outside, I'll be working with quarterbacks. I
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: read it tweet from Mike Reeses that said Matt Patrician
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: flat out said he'd be working with the offensive line.
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: There's no ambiguity as to who's doing what. People are concerned.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: They ask, They asked special teams. Okay, they asked Steve
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: Belichick and every other coach said, I'm you know, we're
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: talking about offense. That email was about offense. I'm talking
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: about everything, and Okay, the defense hasn't changed. Okay, that's
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: what it was last year. We know that. But offensively,
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: the coaches that are new have told you what they're doing. Mike,
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: I'm not putting words in your mouth. I'm not right.
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: I'm just going off of what we read off a Twitter,
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: and I believe Mike Reece. Mike Reeves had those tweets
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: about Patricia and Judge said they're working with offensive line quarterbacks,
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: so there's no ambiguity for that. People don't like the
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: fact that those two guys are involved with Mac Jones.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: That's that's where people are losing their mind. That's another thing.
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: Another but that's the thing, okay for you, No, not
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: for me. For these people who are up and I
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: figure it'll work itself out. If Matt George is any good,
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. Okay, that's my feeling of it. For
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: other people, they also heard a lot of the other
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: coaches saying, yeah, we're you know, Bill'll figure that out.
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: We're not talking about that right now. And cam Accord, right,
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: you know, I agree everything you're saying. I agree with. Well,
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: the concern is you don't have to agree. It happened, right.
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: The concern is about the people doing it, not who's
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: doing what. Okay, that's what you just said, exactly what
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: I feel that they're two separate things. They're two absolutely
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: separate things, I know, but there's only one of them
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: that people are concerned about. They are two separate things.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: This person's concerned about the positionless coaching, right, and I'm
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: saying that's not what it is. It's not positionless coaching.
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: But that's what he's concerned about. Okay, But I just
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: I should have alleviated your concerns by explaining that. Joe
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: Judge told us last week he's working with the quarterback.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: He did. Matt Patricia told us last week he's working
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: with the offensive line. Nick Kayley told us he's working
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: with the tight ends. There's no position lest worries for anybody.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: There are, you shouldn't have them. But I'm trying to
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: allay the fear of the email because all the coaches
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: told you what they're going to be doing, but no
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: one told you who's calling plays. There's a lot of
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: writers who took it the other way and mentioned Steve
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Belichick and Cam Accord and said, why aren't they Why
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: aren't they telling these the coordinator? Why aren't they? Okay,
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: but I'm just saying what some writers said, why aren't
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: they telling these coaches what they're doing? Right? Your show
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: calling plays? Yes, that's not just calling plays. Well, that's
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: the only thing that is unknown, Fred is who is
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: calling the plays on both sides. Okay, but I'm telling
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: you that it went further. Okay, in your opinion, it didn't.
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: I listened to the shows. You make fun of me
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: all the time for listening to my shows. I listened to. Okay,
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: they can't believe that Joe Judge and Matt Patricia are
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: in charge of Matt Jones is all important that year two?
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: That is true, that's the concern that is true for them.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: But I will also show you other people who wrote
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: about why aren't they telling you? Know? This is why
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: are they doing this in the end? Right, why are
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: they Why are they not telling who's calling the place?
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: That the rest of it they told you. Okay, when
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: I show it to you, then you can read it.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: These people were Mike, can you please back. I think
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: you're both saying the same thing. No, No, he thinks
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: that no one knows who's coach or what positions. But
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: that's what he's saying. It's not the same thing. I know.
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: What I'm saying is that I read people who were
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: concerned about why don't these coaches know what they're doing?
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: And not just and I and I would say that
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: I think Mark Daniels is the one who wrote that,
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: And I said to Mike, where is the ambiguity? These
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: guys told you what they're doing. But Paul, you're you're
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: not listening to me. You're right, But this person read
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: someone like Mark Daniels, okay, and now is concerned that's way.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: But all of the other people that are talking about
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: this are only concerned about who's calling place. But I'm
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: just saying, so one guy didn't It wasn't it didn't
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: hear the play, that's my point. But it wasn't what
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: I said. I read and listened to all this stuff
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: because I wasn't here Fred, so I needed to catch up.
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: I know what people were saying because I wasn't here
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: to experience it myself. It would you know your last show,
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna miss this. It's such a totally different thing.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: I mean, the guys told you the positions, they're three
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: different offensive coaches told you specifically what they're doing. No
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: one said who's calling the place. I agree with that,
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: that's what people are concerned about. You see, I agree
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: that it is two totally different things. But because of
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: what some wrote, there are people like that at last
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: emailer who are taking it beyond that, okay, And I'm
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: gonna ask you very politely, and I will apologize on
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: Tuesday if if you can do this, Yeah, if you
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: can find after Tuesday someone who wrote I don't know
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: who's coaching positions okay on offense? Right, I don't know
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: what positions they're coaching on offense. Okay, if you can
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: find someone after Tuesday, I will apologize on next Tuesday
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: on our next show, okay, our first Eric show. I
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: apologize a thousand times to you. I mean this emailer
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: heard it, I read it. Okay. You know emails of
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: also heard that they're intentionally not giving anybody the coordinator
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: job because they want to try to fool other teams? Yeah, right,
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: have we not gotten a lot of emails on that.
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: That's speculation, Okay, So that's just because someone emails in
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: about it, doesn't mean it's accurate. I know, but that's
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: a why And I agree, like these position coaches know
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: what they're doing. I'm not worried about that. But that's
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: that's not an opinion, but that's a fact. They told
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: you some did, right, the offensive ones. That's what we're
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: talking about. But I'm telling you, Steve Belichick flat out wide. Okay, well,
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: I'm telling you that some of them everybody knows. Elidy.
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: He even had a smirk on his face when he
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: was telling you that some of these analysts took it
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: further and said they're not telling coaches what they're doing.
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: They did in regards to calling plays, Joe Judge said,
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: I don't know now, it was beyond that. It was
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: beyond that. I actually heard the quote like, this is
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: not an opinion. I'm not saying what they said. That's
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: what they're saying the coaches. They didn't tell the coaches
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: what they're doing. That's what they're talking about calling plays.
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: It was beyond that, I'm telling what people wrote went
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: beyond they don't know who the offensive coordinator is, and
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: that is why people are like up in arms going crazy.
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: Mike said it earlier in the show that people are
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: going too far with it. I agree with Mike. I
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: think too much is being made of it now. I
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: disagree with as to why you guys think that they
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: don't know. I do think they know, and I just
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: think they're not telling us who's calling the plays. Yeah,
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: I just think they're not telling us. But the level
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: of like hysteria over this I think has gotten way
- 2:01:39Speaker 1: beyond Like, I'm concerned about it, but it's not keeping
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: me up at night like some of these other people.
- 2:01:44Speaker 1: But that's the concern. Is to who's calling the plays.
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: I would say they don't know on either side of
- 2:01:49Speaker 1: the ball. Yeah, and I think that's definitely true. There's
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: no doubt about that. But that's that's my only point. Yeah,
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: but if you could tell me someone says I'm up like,
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: I don't know who's called coaching the offensive line after Tuesday.
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: If you can show me that, then I'll say I
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: was wrong. Okay, we're saying it all right, Okay, because
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: the concerns is not about position coaches, it's about the coordinator. Yeah,
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: I don't I'm not saying that they were concerned about it,
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: but they wrote why aren't they telling them? And then
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: this guy takes it like, what's this with the positionless coaching? Exactly?
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: He's gone a step too far, He's not. That's not
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: what people are right, You've misinterpreted what you say. He's
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: gone too far. I think some of the analysts went
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: too far. I think he's taking something that he read
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: and not interpreting it right. Okay, that's all not at all,
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: that's all right, Well Eric, any any last words? Uh? Well,
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: I just thank you to you, specifically Fred for taking
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: a chance on me sixteen years ago. Um, saving me
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: from classic classic. No, just in in closing, just really
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: thank you for the last sixteen years. Wouldn't have been
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: able to do all the things I've done and experience
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: all the things I've experienced with this team. And all
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: I can say is I'm forever grateful for That's my pleasure. Yeah,
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: and uh, good luck. I you're gonna You're gonna do better. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: I hope so your your lips to God's ears. Yeah, absolutely,
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not worried about something. You know. Do
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: you think I might be? Yeah, I can. I can
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: come yell at you. In other capacity, I got rid
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: of him, I don't really yell. All right. That'll be
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: it for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. Um, anything going
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: on this weekend? Now? Practice Monday, I guess we're gonna
