- 1:56We are now talking to Savannah Bananas pitcher Connor Harris
- 1:58and Savannah Bananas coach and director, our friend Adam Byron.
- 2:03What's up boys, How are you? Doing great.
- 2:07How about? Yourself.
- 2:08We're good and you guys go back and forth.
- 2:10I could see who's the coach and who's the player And, and Jabba,
- 2:13ladies and gentlemen, he he should pop in.
- 2:16So Jabba's been moving his son. So his his son's coming back
- 2:21from school and his his someplace for Hampton.
- 2:24And Jabba might be obviously looking to, to land a job.
- 2:28I don't know, he might be a pitching coach over there for
- 2:30Hampton. Oh, there he is.
- 2:33It's Hutch. It's Hutchinson, you Ding Dong.
- 2:35I'm sorry. Hutchinson, I'm.
- 2:37Sorry, give me a hutch. Almost went there Java.
- 2:40There you. Go.
- 2:40Oh, you did. Yeah, man.
- 2:43Oh yeah. How we doing Java?
- 2:45Now. Your hometown?
- 2:46I'm from Omaha. My friend went to Pavilion La
- 2:48Vista back in the day. Oh, good old Papio.
- 2:52That's right, baby. I'm a little old.
- 2:53I love it. Hell yeah.
- 2:55All right. Yeah, yeah, no doubt.
- 2:57What's up, boys? How you guys doing?
- 3:00Doing great job. Hey, first of all, tell, that's
- 3:05what I'm talking about. That's that.
- 3:08That's that. Fires me up.
- 3:10Fires me up right there. Oh, love it.
- 3:13JD too. Love it.
- 3:15Yeah, baby. I was a royal and I played with
- 3:18JD there. You.
- 3:20Go so and he doesn't have to hit off me.
- 3:22Wow. He had to add that.
- 3:25Hey, Jabba. Jabba had to add that.
- 3:30Oh, that's what I'm talking, dude.
- 3:34That's crazy. Like when when I see stuff like
- 3:36that and like the 62 was never like, you know, it was Scott
- 3:40Shields before like that, that made set up like what it was in
- 3:44baseball when he's with the Angels.
- 3:45And then, you know, the C 62 is not really a popular number When
- 3:48you see all those things too. And they're like, that's because
- 3:50of you. And I'm like, man, that's crazy.
- 3:52Like it's, it's one of those cool things that you never think
- 3:55that you're going to have that opportunity and like and be able
- 3:57to like have people wear these things.
- 3:59And it's just like, it's, it's super cool.
- 4:01But what's not super cool is I haven't got an invite when you
- 4:05guys are going to be in Lincoln at Haymarket and memorial to
- 4:08throw. That's that's what I want to
- 4:10know. You know, your invites going to
- 4:13going to be in the mail moves a little slow this time of year,
- 4:15you know, holiday season. So just just wait, man.
- 4:20You know, you probably actually get a a text message instead of
- 4:23that snowing on my friend. Perfect.
- 4:25All right, I appreciate that. Yeah.
- 4:26So I was just, I'm going anyways, but I was like, yeah, I
- 4:30probably should jump on board on this thing.
- 4:32Right. I think our bet should be held
- 4:34over there. I think during like halftime we
- 4:36should have one of their guys and you pitch and me try to
- 4:40steal on you 5 times. How about that And somebody get
- 4:43it, You know, somebody get in the the box and try to swing
- 4:47against you and me try to steal against you.
- 4:48Why? Don't we do that?
- 4:50It's not going to happen. You say it's not going to
- 4:52happen, so why do we do it? Why do we do?
- 4:54It I'm going to pick I'm going to pick you off before you ever.
- 4:58Why do we do? It and we'll do it at a Savannah
- 5:01banana game. Why not?
- 5:02Why not? I would love to do it.
- 5:05So then when I do it and I get a chance to stand at second base
- 5:08and put my pump my hands up saying I got you Jabba, I
- 5:13gotcha. What are you going to say that?
- 5:15Hey, so you noticed that he wanted to steal a base like he
- 5:18didn't want to face me in the box that see he just he just he
- 5:21wanted he wanted to. Freebase hold on freebase.
- 5:24Freebase I'm not doing. Any yeah, you're getting you're,
- 5:27you're starting at first. He didn't get that.
- 5:31I went over his head, ladies and gentlemen, by the way, ladies
- 5:38and gentlemen, we are talking to Savannah Bananas pitcher Connor
- 5:42Harris and Savannah Bananas coach and director and a Viron.
- 5:45Listen, I my our bet and it it's it's pretty simple.
- 5:49Me and Jabba have a bet. We were going to do it in the
- 5:52summertime. It never happened that there was
- 5:54supposed to be somebody going into the box.
- 5:56They have a catcher and Jabba would pitch.
- 5:59I started first base. I get five chances to steal
- 6:02against him. Somebody he's got to pitch
- 6:03against somebody because he can't be that easy.
- 6:06He's going to have to pitch around him and I got to pick my
- 6:08pitches and I got to figure out when I want to steal against
- 6:11them and I got five chances to steal against them.
- 6:13So it never happened. Jabba couldn't come out here.
- 6:17It's going to happen. We're going to, we're going to
- 6:18make this bet and we've had this bet, you know, set up for it's
- 6:22got to be about 7 months now, right?
- 6:24At least what Kevin metros on in Nightmare too.
- 6:27He said he would be the hitter. Yeah, it's it's been a while so
- 6:30and I would love to do it. Why not do it at a Savannah
- 6:33Bananas game? It'll be fun, it'll be fun.
- 6:35I don't care. I listen if we can just
- 6:39entertain the fans and be completely or complete
- 6:42jackasses, which I always am, as you all know, as we all know,
- 6:46there it is. We can have a little bit of fun
- 6:49and I just I think the fans would love it.
- 6:53And why not do it in front of a whole stadium of people?
- 6:56Jabba Chamberlain against the mouth.
- 6:58Errol Marx. We'll, we'll just, we'll just
- 7:07let him have the fact that he thinks he can do it.
- 7:09That's right. No, let's do it.
- 7:10I want to do it. Let's do it.
- 7:12No, I'm I'm saying the fact that you think you're actually going
- 7:14to steal and I'm not going to pick you up.
- 7:16You're. Going, you know what it is, is
- 7:18you think I have no athletic ability whatsoever and I'm
- 7:20pretty. Fast.
- 7:21I never said that, but. You think I can't steal?
- 7:24I was a pretty good base runner when I was a kid, so I I was a
- 7:27good. Hockey, You're 40, you're 49
- 7:30years old. Relax. 49 What do you 43 I'm
- 7:34three years older than you OK. And I mean just.
- 7:37As I look better than you. Yeah, OK, OK.
- 7:40Any you want, You want to bet on that too?
- 7:42You want to put money on that bananas beauty pageants You want
- 7:47to make a bet on that I. Don't, but also I don't have to
- 7:49add 1/2 an inch to my height either.
- 7:51So that's what it is. Now he's going to make foot of
- 7:54my height. Well, guess what?
- 7:56Maybe listen, my stature is in my pants, buddy.
- 8:03Perfect, that's fine. Mine's in college so I'm doing
- 8:06just pretty well for myself as well.
- 8:08Listen, this is not we're having fun.
- 8:11And by the way, anybody that listens to and watches our show,
- 8:14me and job will go back and forth.
- 8:15We like to have fun and we like to crack jokes at each other.
- 8:19So we're happy to have two very important guys to savant the
- 8:24really the product that Savannah Savannah, the Savannah bananas
- 8:27put out there. And it's funny because I was
- 8:30watching the Jimmy Fallon show a couple of weeks ago and Steph
- 8:33Curry was on it. And Steph Curry brought up the
- 8:37Savannah Bananas and the product that they put out there and that
- 8:40M and his children actually went to check it out the that I think
- 8:46last year and said that it's one of the best products right now.
- 8:49It's great. It's like how did they compare
- 8:51it to with? With trotters, the.
- 8:53Harlem Globetrotters of of baseball now, when you hear
- 8:58something like that, guys and you guys have been a part of it
- 9:01and and and really helped the growth.
- 9:03When you hear something from a great player like Steph Curry
- 9:06from the face, one of the faces of the NBA, what do you say from
- 9:10that? You know, we hear that a lot.
- 9:11That's a big comparison and it's an honor to be, you know,
- 9:15compared to the Globetrotters, they they revolutionized the
- 9:17game of basketball. The main difference is we didn't
- 9:21revolutionize the game of baseball.
- 9:23We were just putting a unique spin on it.
- 9:25But the entertainment aspect is really where people are coming
- 9:29up with that, that comparison. The biggest difference right is,
- 9:32is, is our games are not scripted like the Globetrotters.
- 9:36You know, it's I, I went to a game three years ago here in, in
- 9:39Savannah and, you know, the Globetrotters never, you know,
- 9:43they're always up by 30 points, right?
- 9:45The generals were, were, were instructed to lose.
- 9:47So, you know, the, the competitive element is, is a big
- 9:50part of what we bring. You know, it's, it's real
- 9:54baseball and really highly competitive baseball mixed in
- 9:56with that entertainment. But yeah, when, when, when Jesse
- 10:00Cole says start the clock, it's on for real.
- 10:03And yeah, I mean, that's, that's huge praise from from Steph
- 10:06Curry and so many other people that say it.
- 10:07But you know, hats off to them. But we're we're doing our own
- 10:11thing, running around race and and we love every stacking of
- 10:15it. Yeah, I think the combination of
- 10:17both the entertainment and a competitive side is what makes
- 10:21it so special because it it's so interesting and entertaining for
- 10:26so many different audiences. Like we'll get 3 year olds at
- 10:30our game and we'll get 83 year olds at our game and everyone in
- 10:32between, and they're all all having a great time watching it.
- 10:35Yeah, no, like for me it's like, I love the fact like everybody
- 10:39always says baseball is boring, right?
- 10:41And, you know, getting getting to know Burnsey, like when this
- 10:44whole thing was going and we were kind of just talking about,
- 10:47you know, certain things. Like I love how you brought a
- 10:50different dynamic to what actually baseball is.
- 10:54And it should be fun. But what I think a lot of people
- 10:57don't understand is how unbelievably talented you guys
- 11:00are in doing what you're doing. And like where like as as you
- 11:06sit and see where it started and where it is now, Like how much
- 11:10of that part is is obviously the athletic ability of of being
- 11:13great baseball players. But like, was there ever like a
- 11:17little transition of like the acting or was that part of, of
- 11:21getting the right guys was not only being obviously great
- 11:25baseball players, but also like the personality and like, hey,
- 11:29there's going to be a different dynamics of this, like, and, and
- 11:31how did you figure out and pick and choose like kind of what was
- 11:35going to work and what wasn't? Yeah, you nailed it, Jabba.
- 11:39It takes the right type of guy to to play banana ball.
- 11:41It really does because the name of our organization is fans
- 11:43first. Everything we do is is for the
- 11:46fans. And that's before the game,
- 11:48during the game, after the game, signed in autographs, making
- 11:50those connections. That's not for everybody.
- 11:52You know, there's, there's guys that just want to suit it up and
- 11:54go out there and play. That's there's, that's totally
- 11:56fine. And there's nothing wrong with
- 11:57that. But in order to survive and
- 12:00actually thrive in banana land, you have to get out of your
- 12:04comfort zone. You have to make those those
- 12:06personal connections. So not only do you have to be a
- 12:08great baseball player and highly athletic, you've got to be an A+
- 12:13human being. And that's one thing that we've
- 12:15been really proud of. I've been with the organization
- 12:17for five years. We've learned a lot, but but
- 12:21present day we just have we just have high caliber, high quality
- 12:25individuals who who know what this whole thing is about.
- 12:28They play at a high level. They're playing free and easy,
- 12:32unlike they were in college or pro ball.
- 12:35But more importantly, they're creating unforgettable moments
- 12:37by making those connections with those fans.
- 12:38So we value that culture piece more than the athleticism
- 12:44because we can find good baseball players.
- 12:45They're out there, guys that got released, guys that are, you
- 12:48know, in Indy ball that didn't get signed.
- 12:50We can find those guys. But to find the right mix of
- 12:54man, you're a fans first, you're a high culture guy, You get it.
- 12:57You're willing to send those trick plays.
- 12:59You're willing to do things a little bit differently and but
- 13:01also still play at a high level and have fun.
- 13:04Yeah, we we value the character immensely in Banana Land.
- 13:08Viral and I have actually talked about this, but it's also the
- 13:12ability for all these players to be able to turn that switch on
- 13:16and off. So like Jabba, whether it was
- 13:18you were starting or relieving when you ran out to that mound,
- 13:21it was like you were completely locked in and you still are
- 13:24facing all of these really talented players and you still
- 13:27have to be that locked in, but then have to kind of stick a
- 13:29step back and entertain for a SEC and then go back on the
- 13:32mound and face all these really talented hitters again.
- 13:35So it's it's a learning curve finding that moment of OK, like
- 13:39now it's time to go. So I wanted to bring up the
- 13:42rules, Adam. We've talked about the banana
- 13:44ball rules a lot. I love the showdown.
- 13:45I love the ball 4 sprints. Those are probably my 2
- 13:47favorites are the ones we've discussed for you, for any new
- 13:49rules that you guys have been thinking about coming up with.
- 13:52And for you, Connor, as a pitcher, like playing in those
- 13:55type of rules with that type of like, OK, you have this ball, 4
- 13:58sprints and stuff like that. How does it change from other
- 14:00levels of baseball that you've played in the past?
- 14:02It was adjustment. So this summer I went right from
- 14:06pitching in college with obviously normal baseball rules
- 14:09to the banana ball rules. And the biggest adjustment is
- 14:13that it's just so much faster. Like you're getting the ball and
- 14:16going and then the ball. 4 sprints is just kind of another
- 14:21level 2 throw strikes, 2 LB the zone.
- 14:24But I mean, the the game itself, I tell people this all the time,
- 14:28the game itself doesn't change. It's still that mano Vimano
- 14:32pitch reverse hitter mentality that makes baseball so special.
- 14:36It's just at a much faster level and there's a lot of stuff going
- 14:40on. You just need to stay locked in
- 14:42in here. Also, like Viral was talking
- 14:45about with the fans first is you can't go have a bad game and
- 14:49then just go sit in your locker. Like you can't be like a bad
- 14:52teammate after that. Like you have to find a way of
- 14:55OK, like now this is something that's bigger than baseball.
- 14:57It's bigger than the result. I have to go make an impact on a
- 15:00fan because every time you go talk to these fans, it's their
- 15:05first time meeting you. Yeah, I mean, I'm going to touch
- 15:07on something there and Jabba, you would have loved this when
- 15:09you were playing. We have a, our pitchers throw on
- 15:12average a pitch every six seconds and that's literally
- 15:15from when they catch the ball back from the catcher to when
- 15:17they lift that lead leg. Working fast is, is a big deal.
- 15:21Batters cannot step out of the batter's box.
- 15:23So being able to kind of mess with them and, and disrupt that
- 15:26timing by working fast, getting those quick pitches in there.
- 15:29You also don't have to come set. We do have box, but there's no
- 15:33box for not coming set. So that quick pitching, that
- 15:36kind of stutter stepping really has an opportunity to throw off
- 15:39those hitters to really kind of jam them up.
- 15:41They know the hitters know that the pitchers are working quick
- 15:44and filling up the zone. We want to induce contact
- 15:47because those guys behind them are ripping trick plays at A at
- 15:50a 98% clip. But you know, the the biggest
- 15:54change, at least for pitchers, that's they have the toughest
- 15:57time in banana ball because they're just gassed, right?
- 16:01The cardio has to be at an all time high.
- 16:03They're working fast. Sometimes they have to throw in
- 16:06a dance, maybe not. But they're also facing really
- 16:10good dudes who are able to get comfortable in the box.
- 16:12But they have these, these, these, these these kind of like
- 16:15little tools in their tool belt to disrupt that and kind of
- 16:18level the playing field. So pitching is is a lot of fun
- 16:23in banana ball. If you learn how to use it and
- 16:26you don't kind of revert back to all right, make this pitch.
- 16:30You can do that right. There are times to I got to make
- 16:33this pitch. I'm facing Jake school, former
- 16:35first round pick out of high school.
- 16:37I got to make this pitch or I can just grab and go piss them
- 16:41off, move them off the plate, quick pitch them, you know,
- 16:44slide, whatever you got to do. It's kind of it's kind of
- 16:46interesting and we're continuing to unlock new ways that pitchers
- 16:50can kind of like level the playing field on these hitters
- 16:53because they know they're filling up the zone.
- 16:55That's the biggest transition to.
- 16:56The pitchers, I got a question too on that.
- 16:59Like as far as like just the adjustments or whatever, like as
- 17:03far from the creative side of it, Is there ever like a sit
- 17:06down like, hey, this is what we're going to do?
- 17:08Or is it just kind of both? Like obviously you said it's not
- 17:12scripted, which we all know, but is there a creative aspect to it
- 17:16where you where you guys sit down and be like, hey, I think
- 17:18this works. Or if there's like a viral
- 17:20TikTok dance or something that you can always throw in in
- 17:23certain places. Do you do you have?
- 17:25A creative like. Where you guys sit before games
- 17:28or before like a tour, whatever you guys doing to be like, hey,
- 17:31I think this will hit. Maybe it doesn't and then maybe
- 17:34you thought something hit and it doesn't.
- 17:35Do you guys, do you have like a creative or anything?
- 17:39If you sit down and be like, yeah, that that didn't really go
- 17:41great. Or hey, we we might want to
- 17:43change it or hey, this was awesome.
- 17:44We're going to continue to do this.
- 17:46Yeah, we we have a whole creative team.
- 17:48We have a director of entertainment, we have a
- 17:50marketing team that they know the current trends on on all the
- 17:54social media platforms and they'll implement and program
- 17:57some. We do a thing called a 322.
- 18:00That's probably where you saw the pitcher in the, the second
- 18:03baseman, shortstop in the center field.
- 18:04They're all come kind of converged and they do that
- 18:06little dance and they throw a pitch that's called the 322.
- 18:09Usually happens in the third inning, second batter, second
- 18:12pitch, everybody knows it's coming.
- 18:14We just don't know what pitch is going to be thrown.
- 18:16But but those things are programmed by our entertainment
- 18:18team, but we also, we also get inspiration from the players.
- 18:22We want the players to be bought in.
- 18:24If players have great ideas, they will be bought in on those
- 18:27great ideas. And yeah, they may fall flat
- 18:30and, and we adjust, but every game we do anywhere between 25
- 18:34to 30 different new elements, entertainment elements, every
- 18:38single game. We have our standards, but we
- 18:41also do new things because people who come to the games who
- 18:44they come to multiple games, We don't want to just be a 1 trick
- 18:47pony where they said, I've seen it, I don't need to see it
- 18:49again. There's always going to be new
- 18:51things kind of like Saturday Night Live.
- 18:53Saturday Night Live is usually a a brand new show every single
- 18:56weekend. We are no different from the
- 18:58entertainment aspect of that I'm.
- 18:59Going to get out of here. I love you guys.
- 19:01I hope, I hope to see you guys again.
- 19:04See you buddy. Yeah, great meeting you, Java.
- 19:07I was going to say that right when I got to Savannah, it was,
- 19:11it was very much encouraged to be yourself.
- 19:14And if you had any sort of ideas like share them and any way that
- 19:19you feel like you can be different.
- 19:21Like we always say, whatever is normal, do the complete
- 19:23opposite. So it just makes for such a a
- 19:26great room of people just collaborating and trying to to
- 19:30find some awesome ideas. Well, and by the way, we are
- 19:33talking to Savannah Bananas pitcher Connor Harris and
- 19:36Savannah Bananas coach and director Adam Byron.
- 19:39He's been on our show before, Adam's friend of the show, and
- 19:42he's been working with us trying to get us to a Savannah Banana
- 19:46game. And I'm, I'm not lying.
- 19:48Me and Jabba have been going back and forth.
- 19:50You could ask any of the guys on my show, my producers, my
- 19:52executive producers, This guy, he he's ducking and weaving me
- 19:57now. He really doesn't believe that I
- 19:59can't steal from him. Now I am athletically gifted.
- 20:02He could say whatever he wants. And he says, oh, well, why don't
- 20:06you get into a box? I never said I could get into a
- 20:08box and and swing against him. And if I do that, I got to, I
- 20:11got to get at least 5-6 hundred pitches before I'm going to
- 20:14stand in a box. That that a guy who's already
- 20:16come out and told me, tell him. Me, he could throw about 9495
- 20:20still, so if he could do that, it's going to take a little bit
- 20:23longer to figure out how to swing against him.
- 20:26So but when it comes to base stealing, it's really reading
- 20:29seeing where he's going to pitch and if he's pitching around
- 20:32somebody, if he's throwing it to the dirt, that's my best chance
- 20:35of getting a lead against them. So he thinks that I don't have
- 20:38it. I was a great athlete.
- 20:40I was I was a great hockey player.
- 20:43I was a semi pro hockey player, could have been a pro hockey
- 20:45player before I hurt my knee and the guy doesn't want to give me
- 20:48any. So you know what I have told
- 20:50Jabba? We'll do it in front of a
- 20:52crowded. He won't do it.
- 20:53You know what it is boys? He will not do it because if he
- 20:58knows he's going to be in front of 10/15/20 thousand people and
- 21:02I steal a base against Jabba Chamberlain, he will have a
- 21:07conniption. He will jump.
- 21:09He will absolutely try to RIP my frigging head off.
- 21:13And then he comes out and he says I'm in better shape than
- 21:15you Jabba. I we can have a contest with
- 21:18that. We'll have all the ladies vote.
- 21:20OK, this, this man makes fun of my size.
- 21:25I'm 510 1/2. OK, I'm not 6 three, I'm not 6
- 21:30three, but I'm in good shape. I, I, you know, I'm 2O5210.
- 21:34I'm in really good shape, but you don't want to give me any
- 21:36credit. You don't want to give me any
- 21:37credit. That's fine.
- 21:38He's my partner on this show and I love him.
- 21:41But one-on-one, when it comes to anything he wants to do, I will
- 21:46face him. I, I told him I'll play
- 21:48basketball with you. And now my executive producer in
- 21:50the background, Fish, who you guys have seen before, he does
- 21:54our sports minute. He, he says, let's do something.
- 21:57Let's try to do a football thing.
- 21:58Let's try to do a baseball thing.
- 22:00Let's do a, do a hockey thing. I'll do whatever Jabba wants.
- 22:03If he wants to do it, I don't think he's going to do it.
- 22:06I, I really don't. So I'll call him out on it.
- 22:09Let's do it at a Savannah banana game.
- 22:11I don't care. I am up for it.
- 22:14Jabba friggin Chamberlain against the mouth.
- 22:17And whoever wins, I'll do whatever he wants.
- 22:20I'll embarrass myself on a, on a baseball field, I'll do a dance.
- 22:23I, I mean, I, I love to dance. I break dance, I do all that
- 22:26stuff. I, I mean, I, I'll do whatever
- 22:29he wants me to do to embarrass myself.
- 22:30Anyways, this is not about us. This is about you guys.
- 22:33And you know, it's so interesting because Connor, I've
- 22:36always watched pitching and, and to me, pitching is the hardest
- 22:40thing in sports. It really is.
- 22:42I don't care what anybody says. It's it to me you getting into
- 22:47the mind of a of a hitter and, and really dominating at, you
- 22:52know, at the mound and trying to figure out what to pitch against
- 22:56a guy that's going to probably either guess or guess the right
- 23:01way or guess the wrong way to hit against you when you're on
- 23:03the mound. What is it like?
- 23:05Do you like that that thought in your mind where you have the
- 23:08control of the game and the game is in your hands?
- 23:11Or are you not one of those guys that don't like the control of
- 23:14the game and you want to make sure that everybody is working
- 23:17at, you know, everybody's working In Sync with each other
- 23:19on the field or even your manager or your coaches, you
- 23:22know, in the dugout? Yeah, great question.
- 23:24So I don't think anyone that's a pitcher will deny the fact that
- 23:29they love to be in control of the game.
- 23:31I mean, the game starts, the game starts with you.
- 23:35There's no way that anyone can hit a home run.
- 23:37No way can anyone get a strikeout, ground ball, anything
- 23:40without you throwing that pitch. So I used to always say that
- 23:43even at a young age that I just love being on the hill and I was
- 23:46able to look down at the hitter. But with that being said, you
- 23:50got to trust the people around you.
- 23:52So especially in banana ball, it's works so fast.
- 23:56So a lot of times they'll be different sequences and the
- 23:59catcher will call out a sequence and you'll have four straight
- 24:03pitches and you know what they are.
- 24:04So you can literally catch the ball and go right back into it.
- 24:08So just like any any team, you have a lot of confidence in
- 24:12yourself and you got to love that spotlight, but at the same
- 24:15time you got to trust your teammates as well.
- 24:17Adam, obviously you've been with the team for a long time and
- 24:19you've had all these different types of celebrities that have
- 24:22come in and ex baseball players that have played on the team
- 24:24even as some Errol's favorite football player, Travis Hunter
- 24:27was evolved with you guys this. Year.
- 24:29He is not my favorite football player.
- 24:31Don't let him lie to you. All right, here's the quick
- 24:34story, guys. I have gone to the Heisman
- 24:37Trophy dinner twice. I'm going this year.
- 24:41It's December 13th. It's it's a week from actually
- 24:44it's this week on Saturday. So I'm I'm going to be in the
- 24:47city. I'll be at the Heisman.
- 24:49We'll see if Fernando Mendoza wins the Heisman Trophy as as he
- 24:52is expected to do. I was there when the Gremlin
- 24:55won. I gave him the nickname the
- 24:57Gremlin. It's Travis the Gremlin hunter.
- 25:00All right, I was there and and here's the fact that that's him,
- 25:03that that's our cartoon character of Travis Hunter.
- 25:06All right, Travis is an interesting dude.
- 25:10All right, I don't I don't hate upon his personality.
- 25:13I think he's got a unique personality.
- 25:16He has a love fetish for Deion Sanders.
- 25:19All right, and Dion was there. I have I have a lot of respect
- 25:21for Deion because Dion has a great personality.
- 25:23He's one of the greatest at what he did as a as a football
- 25:26player. And he was he was actually
- 25:28professional baseball player. He's the only player I can
- 25:30remember that that have played in the same day two different
- 25:35sports. He's the only player I think has
- 25:36ever done that. So that's amazing what Deion
- 25:39Sanders has done. Travis Hunter is not the on
- 25:42Sanders. So when we were at the Heisman
- 25:45Trophy dinner, he was up, he was taking, they were all taking
- 25:48pictures with the Heisman Trophy before they go to the they go to
- 25:53the room where they're going to be.
- 25:54There's the announcement of who's going to win the Heisman.
- 25:57So I'm standing there and I'm upfront and I'm talking to
- 26:01Ashton Gente. All right?
- 26:03It was Cam, Cam Ward and Ashton Gente.
- 26:05And we're going back and forth and we're talking about the
- 26:07draft. So I go up there and they were
- 26:09talking. Ashton Gente asked Cam Ward, if
- 26:13one of the New York teams drafted you, you know what?
- 26:17You know, what would you do? Would you be excited to go to
- 26:19one of the New York teams? And Travis Hunter came right
- 26:22out. He's like, yeah, the Giants are
- 26:23pretty good. He's like those Jets who wants
- 26:25to play for The Jets. So I'm a Jet fan.
- 26:28I heard him say it and I turned around and I said, who are you?
- 26:34And he says, and he says, and he said he just started talking and
- 26:37said, were you a Jet fan? I said, yeah, you're in New
- 26:40York, you're in Manhattan. Obviously I'm a Jet fan.
- 26:43And he and he went back and forth with me and I said, he
- 26:46says, yeah, I wouldn't want to play for The Jets.
- 26:48And I said, who would you rather play for?
- 26:50And I said as a joke, I, I don't remember.
- 26:52I think it was the Las Vegas or the Jaguars.
- 26:55And he looked at me. He's like, they're better than
- 26:56The Jets. I turned around and said, don't
- 26:58worry, we don't need you. We got Sauce Gardner.
- 27:00And I walked around. I walked out of the room and two
- 27:03of the reporters, 2 of the beat writers of the Colorado
- 27:05Colorado, came up to me and said, I can't believe you did
- 27:09that in front of all the media the way you did it.
- 27:11I said, I don't give a crap who he thinks he is.
- 27:13I mean, we're going to attack The Jets in New York.
- 27:16I'm going to attack you. And then I gave him the nickname
- 27:19of the Gremlin. So there you go.
- 27:20Yes, true story my. Bases are based on that question
- 27:22like do you have any like celebrities true story other
- 27:25sports or celebrities from even not.
- 27:26Even Oh, I got to show you the jersey I got made for him.
- 27:29Hold. On that were involved with the
- 27:30Savannah Bananas this year and any upcoming like any upcoming
- 27:34guys for this year that you guys have guys planned for the 2026
- 27:38season? Yeah, no, no plans yet That will
- 27:42that's I know Jesse is the maestro behind behind that
- 27:46magic. But you know, one of one of the
- 27:48epic celebrity non baseball appearances that we we had this
- 27:52past year was at Yankee Stadium where we had Eli Manning come
- 27:57out and be a undercover umpire. And so in between Indians, I
- 28:02don't know if you saw that it was epic, you know, in between
- 28:04Indians, all the umpires run in dugout and get a drink of water
- 28:08and out runs all the umpires, including Eli Manning.
- 28:13And he goes to first base and he botches a call and and you know,
- 28:17they they review it, it gets overturned and he gets thrown
- 28:21out of the game by by the home plate umpire because he's
- 28:23ridiculous. But it was so funny because he
- 28:27had no idea what to do out there.
- 28:29He had no idea how to call safe or out like it was for a guy
- 28:33that is going to be in the Hall of Fame or I don't even know if
- 28:35he's on the Hall of Fame yet, but he will be.
- 28:37He will be. Yeah.
- 28:39He had no idea how to call safer out.
- 28:41He had no idea where to stand. But that was that was an epic,
- 28:44epic celebrity appearance. We also had some great musical
- 28:48guests, man. We had Chance the Rapper was out
- 28:51there, which was epic. We had fiddy, fiddy cent, man.
- 28:54I got, I got a sign. I got a sign.
- 28:58That's right, man. I got a sign champagne bottle
- 29:00here from him. But yeah, you know, we keep
- 29:02outlading our game on that, that entertainment piece.
- 29:05And it's kind of scary because now fans are expecting just
- 29:10amazing, you know, celebrity appearances.
- 29:12So when we roll into a city and we don't have anybody, people
- 29:15are kind of let down that like Fady or, you know, Chance
- 29:18doesn't come out and and do a song, but you know, nothing,
- 29:21nothing playing next year. But I'm sure there's going to be
- 29:24some epic appearances, no doubt. You know what's so funny?
- 29:27You brought a 50. As long as he's not throwing out
- 29:29a mound, because we've seen what he did at Citi Field, he can't,
- 29:32he definitely can't throw. And I, I would love to see $0.50
- 29:37and P Diddy play against one another.
- 29:39I would love to see that. After watching that documentary
- 29:42I I could see 50 throwing at P Diddy, you know?
- 29:48So funny and funny story. Funny story.
- 29:50When fiddy he he flew in from Milan just just to do like a
- 29:55like a 3 minute little, you know, number of like a like a
- 29:59montage of all his top songs. It was epic.
- 30:01It was unbelievable. His bodyguards got got arms like
- 30:05like 30 inch arms. But right after the right after
- 30:09he was done, he hopped back in that private jet back over to
- 30:11Milan. You know, it's funny and Jabba
- 30:14talks about shape and stuff like that.
- 30:17I I'm a pretty big dude. OK.
- 30:19And he sits on. Yeah, I'm this and I'm that and
- 30:22I, I, I made a joke. Have you ever seen the movie
- 30:25Flubber? I'm, I'm going to get myself
- 30:32into trouble, so I'm going to stop anyways.
- 30:36Did you guys see my Gremlin jersey over here?
- 30:39This is this is nice, man. Look at this.
- 30:41Look at that. Oh, look how beautiful it looks.
- 30:43Oh, yeah, That's sweet. Yeah, I the, the truth is I I
- 30:48got AI got it to Shawn Watson jersey coming in the mail.
- 30:52I got on the back of it. It's got rub and tug.
- 30:58I'm never missing a beat arrow. I, I, you know what it is, is
- 31:01you have to have fun. And when I go to these events,
- 31:04and especially I'll be at the Heisman Trophy on Saturday,
- 31:07everybody that doesn't know me knows me because I'm loud, you
- 31:13know, crazy, and I've got my own takes to everything.
- 31:16I'm not going to sit here and beat around a Bush when I ask a
- 31:18question. I'm going to make sure that the
- 31:20athlete knows who I am and understands that I'm not one of
- 31:24those normal interviews that is boring, lame and stupid.
- 31:28And you're going to ask the same damn question every single time.
- 31:31I want to make sure that, hey, that's a pretty good question.
- 31:33Oh, man, that guy's out of his effing mind.
- 31:36You know, that's when you get remembered.
- 31:38I don't care. Jabba came on this show as a
- 31:40guest, probably came on this show as a guest, and when he
- 31:45came on the show, I tell the story all the time.
- 31:47I'm only coming off for 20 minutes.
- 31:49That's what my producers told me.
- 31:50He winded up taking over the show for an hour and a half, OK,
- 31:54and now he's now me and him are business partners and we do a
- 31:57show together and I love working with Jabba Chamber.
- 31:59I'm not going to take anything as much as we go back and forth
- 32:03and we undermine each other on the show in many different ways
- 32:08on and making fun of each other. I've got a tremendous amount of
- 32:11respect for him and he's got a tremendous amount of respect for
- 32:13me. He understands what I'm good at.
- 32:15I understand what he's good at and that's what makes us a good
- 32:20combination. Speedy gives us that little, you
- 32:22know, that little edge and then there's fish and all the guys
- 32:25that work with us. And I think that's that has to
- 32:27do with the team and you guys, the Savannah Bananas is a team
- 32:31the way you guys have built your organization.
- 32:34And I don't think anybody can copycat what you've guys done
- 32:36and how you elevated your sport to the next level.
- 32:39And it's changed baseball. It's made baseball more even
- 32:43more interesting to watch and it brings in new fans that might
- 32:46not be interested in the sport, just want are interested in the
- 32:50entertainment end of it. I think it's incredible what you
- 32:53guys have done. It really is.
- 32:54And I, every time I get a chance to see it on, on the Internet,
- 32:58on TikTok and Instagram, you guys are some of the most
- 33:02watched frames on those on those channels and all those different
- 33:06platforms. It's, it's fantastic what you
- 33:09guys do and how athletically gifted some of you guys are and,
- 33:14and, and by the way, some of you guys can actually dance.
- 33:16I'm very, I'm very shocked that some of you guys actually have
- 33:19some kind of dancing ability. I, I mean, because I've met a
- 33:23lot of athletes that have told me, oh, I could dance.
- 33:25I went to the NHL draft. What was it?
- 33:28It had to be about 6 years ago. And I went to a club after the
- 33:32draft, after the, after the second day.
- 33:35And I was with a bunch of draftees, guys that got drafted
- 33:39and they were telling me, Oh yeah, I'm a, I'm a fly dancer.
- 33:41I can, I can, I can break. I can do all this other stuff.
- 33:44I was like, OK, let's see what you got.
- 33:46I tell the DJ to give me some break music.
- 33:48And this guy, I don't know what you call it.
- 33:52He was hipping and he was top anybody he should have hit and
- 33:54hopped out of the damn dance club because he didn't know what
- 33:57the hell he was doing. So I, I think it's pretty, I
- 34:00think it's pretty incredible. You guys have some rhythm and
- 34:03you guys, you guys are entertaining, man.
- 34:04I, I really, I, I, I want to go and experience just being as
- 34:09dugout and hanging out with you guys while you guys are doing
- 34:12it. I think it, or maybe even be
- 34:13involved with it. I would love to see Jabba get
- 34:16involved in the comedy end event.
- 34:18Oh my God, If Jabba actually had any rhythm, and I don't know if
- 34:22he does, I would absolutely love to see Jabba Chamberlain try to
- 34:27do the moonwalk or the, yeah, you know, the Rodger rabbit or
- 34:30something like that. I would love it.
- 34:33I would pay to see Jabba Chamberlain try to get it.
- 34:35I would. OK, Java does have his high
- 34:37school theatre. Background I would oh, that's
- 34:39another thing he was telling us he was at Radio City and he was
- 34:46doing Broadway shows. So that would be fun to watch
- 34:49Java Chamberlain in a in a Broadway show.
- 34:51But you guys are amazing and and Connor, I this is the first time
- 34:56you've been on our show and there it is that's that's that's
- 34:59that's a great background. By the way, our executive
- 35:01producer Fish puts a lot of time into these graphics and, and I
- 35:05think he does a tremendous job. And I've never met you, Connor,
- 35:10but you look like you have a great personality.
- 35:13You're young and up and coming. And we know Adam, Adam, you
- 35:16know, we love you Every time you come on this show, you, you
- 35:18brighten up our show and, and you're just a unique individual.
- 35:22And, and what you and your partner's done with the banana,
- 35:26you know, the banana product and Savannah bananas is, is
- 35:29remarkable. You guys got to me.
- 35:31I would love to do a live show at 1:00 of your events to
- 35:35entertain the fans while you're doing a live show.
- 35:37I would love to do it. If you guys would let us do it,
- 35:39I think we'd have you guys laughing.
- 35:41We'd have your fans laughing. We'll bring Jabba and maybe
- 35:44we'll hang them up on, you know, a tree and we'll use them as,
- 35:47you know, a pinata or something, you know.
- 35:50Let's get you out to a game. You know, we talked about this
- 35:53last time, getting out to a game.
- 35:54It didn't happen. We're coming back to Yankee
- 35:56Stadium for, I think we're playing three games at Yankee
- 35:59Stadium this year. So let's do it.
- 36:01Let's get Jabba back out there to the the old stomping grounds,
- 36:04get you guys out there. Let's do it.
- 36:05I don't know if Speedy PD is allowed in Yankee Stadium, but
- 36:09we'll put a mask on him and let him in.
- 36:11He better wear. Yeah, let's get you out there,
- 36:13guys. He better wear his underwear.
- 36:14You know, I think one of your guys need to teach Speedy how to
- 36:17shave. I mean, this man needs some
- 36:19shaving, you know, training. I, I mean, I bought him a
- 36:22manscape. He doesn't want to take it home
- 36:24with him. I need to give it to Josh.
- 36:26I no, you told me to give it to Josh.
- 36:28I wanted to give it to you. I mean, you need to do some
- 36:31cleaning in many different areas, if you know what I mean,
- 36:33But nevertheless, we would love to come out.
- 36:36We would love to come out and hang out with you guys.
- 36:39I like I said, I'm a big fan of your product and what you guys
- 36:41have been doing. And let's talk, Adam, I, I, you
- 36:45guys are coming out to New York. Let's do it.
- 36:46Let's let's figure out how we can we can do something together
- 36:50and job will come out 100%. He come out and do it and maybe,
- 36:54well, maybe we'll get him to do this bet.
- 36:56I doubt it. You know, I don't think he I
- 36:58don't think he has it in him to to embarrass himself.
- 37:01But if he does, I'm I'm here for him, you know, but I'm just
- 37:05kidding job. But calm down.
- 37:07You're going on. But I would love to do the bet.
- 37:10I would love to do the bet. If he if he's willing to do it
- 37:12in front of the fans, I will do it.
- 37:14I have no. Problem see here here's the
- 37:15thing here's the thing really quick on that it it has to do
- 37:18with the catcher so much right like a lot on the hold time and
- 37:23and and the break time of the pitcher, but so much is on the
- 37:26catcher right and so you know that's.
- 37:28Not my problem. I think he can pick his catcher
- 37:31and he can throw to his catcher. He could.
- 37:33I get to pick the hitter. There's got to be something I
- 37:35can hit in the box because he can't, you know, if he's
- 37:39pitching strikes and nobody can hit the ball, it's like it's
- 37:42pretty much, it's easy for the catcher to just throw it to
- 37:44second base. So I have to, I have to guess
- 37:47right And, and I got to play, you know, it's a guessing game.
- 37:50You know, it's, it's a mind game when you're on, you're on first
- 37:53base and you're trying to steal from, you know, steal the
- 37:55second. I know it is I, when I did it,
- 37:58it's, it's an art. It's an art to do that.
- 38:01So if he thinks that I don't have the art work to do that,
- 38:05well, then let's make the bet and let's do it, baby.
- 38:08He's going to take all of us out to a nice steak dinner after I
- 38:11beat him in his bed. I get five chances to do it.
- 38:14So I, I one out of five. I'm, I'm on.
- 38:17I, I think I could get 3 out of five.
- 38:19How's that so? Love you, Jabba, love you.
- 38:30But let's do it. Let's figure it out.
- 38:32I, I, I'd love to have some fun. And I know my boys, all these
- 38:36guys would love it. They'd be videoing.
- 38:38Everybody would be videoing. I don't know if Jabba is going
- 38:40to love it, but I love it and it'll be fun to watch.
- 38:43And, and, and a competition. I love competition.
- 38:46We love competition. You know, I think we are the, I
- 38:49don't care what anybody says, competition or not, I think we
- 38:51have the best show in America. I don't think there's anybody
- 38:53that comes close to what we do. So and I, I put us against
- 38:57anybody. I put us against anybody on any
- 39:00network. And, and I think our knowledge
- 39:03and our, you know, our entertainment and the product
- 39:06that we put out there is as good as anybody's.
- 39:08And I'm willing to bet anybody on that.
- 39:10I'd put anything on it. So if I'm so confident in that,
- 39:13I'm confident about anything. So why not be confident about
- 39:16stealing a base on Jabba Chamber?
- 39:18So that's it anyways, I, I wanted to add that to you guys,
- 39:24but Adam, I, I love everything that you guys do and keep up the
- 39:29good work and, and we will talk off air and, and it's very nice
- 39:33to meet you, Connor. I think it's sensational.
- 39:35I found out that, you know, Nathan told me you were a Jabba
- 39:38Chamberlain fan. I, it's funny because Jabba was
- 39:42one of my favorite players in the mid 2000s.
- 39:46I I was always, I was in AI, never wore jerseys besides my
- 39:51own name on the back of the jersey.
- 39:53And there's only four Yankee jerseys I've ever bought.
- 39:57And Yogi Berra is one of them. Don Mattingly is another.
- 40:01Bernie Williams is another, and now and, and Jabba Chamberlain.
- 40:06So when Jabba came on the show, I was wearing a Jabba
- 40:08Chamberlain 2009 jersey and he was like, yeah, rock that baby,
- 40:12rock that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:14And and. And over the years that won't
- 40:17over the years, over the last two years since we've been back
- 40:20and forth doing, you know, the stuff that we've been doing.
- 40:22I I say to myself, I love the jersey.
- 40:25Maybe I should send it to Jabba so he can wear it, because every
- 40:28time I wear it, it, it it might not smell very good after the
- 40:32show. So, yeah.
- 40:34So anyways, that's it. I, I don't want to get too deep
- 40:37into any more of my craziness on this show because I don't want
- 40:40to get myself into trouble. Anyways, you guys are
- 40:43sensational. Before we let you go, do you
- 40:46guys have any particular shows that are coming up in the the
- 40:51near future that fans could know about or they can find buying
- 40:55tickets for the near future for the Savannah Bananas?
- 40:58Man, good luck buying tickets, man.
- 41:00We, we, we're really fortunate that the four and a half million
- 41:03people on the wait list to get tickets.
- 41:05But we open up down in Tallahassee at Florida State
- 41:08University. We're taking all six of our
- 41:10teams down there. We're going to play two games at
- 41:13Dick Hauser Stadium where Florida State baseball plays.
- 41:16And then we're going to go right across the street and play in
- 41:18the football stadium. And so that's, that's where we
- 41:21open up. But you know, we're coming.
- 41:22We're coming to New York, we're coming to Lincoln, NE, you know,
- 41:27home a job in the Chamberlain there and all across the country
- 41:30we're we're hitting 44 states, I believe.
- 41:32So we're coming to a, you know, we're coming to a ballpark near
- 41:35you. You just do your best to get in.
- 41:38You know, it's it's we're fortunate enough to to have this
- 41:41moment in time where we're selling out.
- 41:43But, you know, we're in the offseason right now.
- 41:45Connor Connor's working his butt off.
- 41:47So when they come and watch him play, he's going to continue to
- 41:49fill up that strike zone. But yeah, you know, come on out,
- 41:54we're not hard to find. Well, we're going to come out.
- 41:56When are you? When are you guys going to be in
- 41:58New York? Yeah, it's sometime.
- 42:00That's all right. You know what well, I'll be in
- 42:03contact with you guys. We're we're absolutely up for
- 42:07going to a Savannah banana game. I never never I've never been to
- 42:111. I watch it every time on TikTok
- 42:13and on on the social medias, instagrams.
- 42:16And like I said, you guys are rocking it right now.
- 42:18Everybody I've seen you guys, I've seen people talk about it
- 42:22on Jimmy Fallon show. I've seen on the Jamie Campbell
- 42:24show, I've seen it on ESPN. Everybody talks about what you
- 42:27guys are doing right now. It's it's against the party
- 42:30animals. April 25th and 26th.
- 42:33How crazy is that? My birthday is the 29th.
- 42:36So you guys are going to be in New York around my birthday.
- 42:40Torresville, I'm going to come absolutely for my birthday.
- 42:44That would be so fun. I don't want you guys singing
- 42:46Happy Birthday to me. That's pretty embarrassing.
- 42:48But hey, you know what, if Jabba comes and I, you know, if Jabba
- 42:52is willing to sing happy birthday than me, then you guys
- 42:54could do that too. I don't know if Jabba has the I
- 42:56don't think Jabba will ever do that.
- 42:58But hey, you know, maybe he will.
- 42:59So anyways, Adam, thank you for joining us.
- 43:04Thank you to Connor. You guys are sensational.
- 43:07Keep up the good work and we'll see you soon, buddies.
- 43:10Beautiful. Thank you very much.
- 43:13I love the jerseys. I love the jerseys on you guys.
- 43:16You're both wearing Jabba jerseys and one for the Royals.
- 43:19And by the way, Jabba won two World Series, one with the
- 43:22Royals and one with the Yankees, and he had a chance to win.
- 43:26He had a chance to win it with the Guardians, but he fell
- 43:28short. Yeah, 3-1 lead.
- 43:30Yeah, he fell short, but would he have been the first player in
- 43:36baseball history to win three World Series with three
- 43:38different teams? I think he would be.
- 43:40In other words, some that did back-to-back.
- 43:42Yeah, I'm not sure about 3. Like especially that sort of a
- 43:44fan. I think I think he would be.
- 43:47I think Terrence Gore, that base Runny that that's right,
- 43:50Specialist kind of kind of like you, Errol.
- 43:52Yeah. Has won three with three
- 43:54different teams. Adam I love.
- 43:55That's right. No, you're right, I do.
- 43:57Remember that now. Good stuff.
- 44:00Yeah, I had a little, I had a little funny story to say about
- 44:03good Java with the number 62. When I was younger, I was so
- 44:07infatuated with wearing #62 that the Little League jerseys, which
- 44:11obviously only went up to like 22, I really want to wear 62.
- 44:16And my dad was a coach. So my dad got the number 12
- 44:19jersey, got the number six jersey, took the six off that
- 44:23jersey and put it over the 1. So I was #62 when I was nine
- 44:27years old. Wow, you're you're he's a die
- 44:30hard Jabba Chamberlain fan. We got to get.
- 44:32Oh yeah, I wore the flat rim just just like you did.
- 44:35I'd wear it just for recess. We're at the school.
- 44:37They'd be like, Connor, why are you wearing a hat?
- 44:39You can't even wear it in collect in class.
- 44:41Like for recess, I got to be like Jabba.
- 44:43That's crazy. We definitely I'm going to work
- 44:46on it. We will come out Yankee Stadium
- 44:48with Jabba Chamberlain and and Connor will get a chance to meet
- 44:51Jabba Chamberlain. That would be great.
- 44:53That's that's awesome when you get to meet your hero and a
- 44:56person that you looked up to when you were a kid.
- 44:57I met my hero growing up, a John Van Beesbrook was my hero.
- 45:01And funny, quick, funny story for everybody to understand.
- 45:05I had. I did a hockey show, and Ashley
- 45:06Sargeant was my birthday and I was doing a hockey show.
- 45:08Speedy, you remember this? Yeah.
- 45:10I wasn't there, but I think I listened to it later.
- 45:11And I was I was sitting there and Ashley said, I have a
- 45:14special guest that wanted to call the show and come on for an
- 45:18interview. And I he gave me some like Tim
- 45:20Hardway. And I said, who the hell is Tim
- 45:22Hardway? And then he called the show and
- 45:25I said, hello, who you? Who you speaking?
- 45:26Who we speaking with? And he says this is John Van
- 45:30Beesbrook. And I said, what?
- 45:31And he says this is John Van Beesbrook.
- 45:34Hello Errol. Happy birthday, birthday.
- 45:35And I'll never forget I did my first interview with a guy that
- 45:38I looked up to since I was a little boy and I he called me
- 45:42for my birthday. Now he runs United States hockey
- 45:45and the first time I ever met him, it was at the NHL draft in
- 45:48Dallas. He knew exactly who I was when I
- 45:50was walking down working with the GMs and the coaches over
- 45:55there on the on the bottom of the ice before the draft
- 45:59started. So I took a picture and he was,
- 46:01he interviewed with me. He, he, I was the only media guy
- 46:05he did an interview with for United States and for the United
- 46:08States hockey at that event. So it was a pretty cool
- 46:12opportunity. And I think I would love to let
- 46:14you, you know, be a part of watching you meet the guy that
- 46:17you looked up to. So definitely would love to do
- 46:19that. Yeah, that'd be great.
- 46:21That'd be awesome. When I when they reached out
- 46:23about doing the podcast, then they just casually name dropped
- 46:26Jabba Chamberlain. I was like, what?
- 46:28I was like, they know that. They know I was wearing 62
- 46:31growing. Well, I, I definitely, as, as
- 46:36far as I'm concerned, I want to, I want to give you your
- 46:39opportunity to meet your hero and, and Jabba's such a gracious
- 46:42person. He he would love to meet you
- 46:43guys. So I would love, I would love to
- 46:45be a part of that. And Adam, you know, I'm a big
- 46:47fan of yours. So yeah, I, I might have to take
- 46:50a couple of pictures with you and we'd, we'd love to be a part
- 46:54of the great event that you guys put on.
- 46:56So count us in in April. I I definitely would do that.
- 47:01You got it. You got it.
- 47:02Thanks guys. Absolutely.
- 47:04Thank you for having us on. Connor Harris and Adam Virant, 2
- 47:10fantastic personalities, great, great guys and and just happy to
- 47:15have him on the show. And I was, I wasn't taking
- 47:18shots. I would would you guys say I was
- 47:19taking shots at Jabba? I don't think.
- 47:21I was as much as you normally do with a competitiveness.
- 47:25Well, he's always competitive with me.
- 47:27And, and you know, what's crazy about Jabba is, is that he will
- 47:32not do that in front of a crowd. He will not do that.
- 47:35I, I don't believe if I stole a base against him in front of the
- 47:39fans, he will absolutely want to RIP my head off.
- 47:43I'm telling you right now that would that would be so
- 47:46embarrassing for him right in front of 40 or 30,000 people.
- 47:50Me steal a base against Joppa Chamberlain at Yankee Stadium, I
- 47:56mean. I don't know if the bananas are
- 48:01going to accommodate this this. No, I.
- 48:04I would say this, I think that to get those conditions where I
- 48:10mean you seem to be hoping for like.
- 48:13Not hoping to. Pitch in the dirt.
- 48:15I'm not hoping. That he dirts 1 and you can get
- 48:18that base. If somebody.
- 48:19Get him on a fastball if he needs to be a breaking ball.
- 48:23If somebody is up at the plate and swinging at the balls, he's
- 48:28going to have to pitch around him.
- 48:29He's not going to want the guy to hit against him.
- 48:31I mean, if somebody's hitting against.
- 48:33Them. Yeah, but like, why would he
- 48:34care unless there were stakes on the at bat?
- 48:37Like he's going to throw up and away fastballs.
- 48:39Well, if you're, if you're, if you're getting a chance to swing
- 48:42against Jabba Chamberlain, hit against Jabba Chamberlain, I, I
- 48:45think that's, that's enough stakes to me.
- 48:48And unless Jabba bet, unless Jabba's paying off, the hitter
- 48:52is not to swing at it. I don't know what Jabba's plan
- 48:55is, but to me it should be fair both ways.
- 48:58If I'm trying to steal against a professional baseball player,
- 49:01there has to be a professional catcher and a professional
- 49:04hitter at the plate ready and willing to swing.
- 49:07So if, if that's the case, I'm in.
- 49:10If if that's not the case, then I'm not in.
- 49:12It's not fair to me. So why?
- 49:14Why is it work one way and not work the other?
- 49:16That wouldn't be fair to me. It's just very hard to get those
- 49:19conditions to actually. I don't think it's hard at all.
- 49:22Get a real guy that's going to go into the box and get a real
- 49:25catcher and Jabba pitch and me steal what conditions if?
- 49:31Jabba were to give up a stolen base.
- 49:34He may cry about it, but in this game, Errol, you're not allowed
- 49:37to. My pinky is bigger than yours.
- 49:40All right, Mom, what's one thing?
- 49:44That you can't talk. To my sexual fantasies.
- 49:50It's not ideal, but if it's what, it's not ideal.
- 49:53But if it's just not ideal, but if it is, what?
- 49:56You can't treble stamp a double stamp.
- 49:57You can't treble stamp a double stamp.
- 49:59Lord, you can't dribble stamp a double stamp, you guys.
- 50:04Now it's time for save your tears.
- 50:09Oh yes, it is indeed. Once again time for save your
- 50:12tears, everyone's favorite tier based fantasy game.
- 50:17This is based on the NFL Week 14 stats.
- 50:22Did you have a season long standing speedy?
- 50:24Did you make his standings yet? Growbar.
- 50:26Yes, I do have a standing. Growbar.
- 50:28I don't don't lie to me. I do.
- 50:30Didn't make a standing because I made his standings because I
- 50:34know. You my rear end is burden.
- 50:36Standings. I wonder if your standings are
- 50:37similar to mine. Because that is.
- 50:40Going to lead for a whole another debate but we'll go over
- 50:42that a little later let's. Reveal.
- 50:45Who won this? Oh guys, here's the the bar
- 50:50right here as it'll be a Josh. Back.
- 50:53Week he took Daniel Jones. Not good news.
- 50:56I love Lisa Ann. Who else had not great games?
- 50:59Jonathan Taylor, not so much. I took Daniel Jones, so I
- 51:03screwed myself so. Yeah, Roma Dunze didn't play.
- 51:07No one took him anyway either. Did.
- 51:08Dantavian Wicks or. Roma ball bags.
- 51:11Had no catches, so there were a couple of real bagels out there.
- 51:14Let's see who won. Carl plays with himself.
- 51:17And it was Java Chamberlain. We won.
- 51:20Was the winner this week, Speedy PD finishing in second place
- 51:25with the Big Nith Mania in. 3rd I came in last because of the
- 51:30old Daniel Jones. Yeah, Errol, not such great
- 51:33moves here with the Daniel Jones, kind of solid across the
- 51:38board, but the the quarterback position kills you.
- 51:40Josh Allen, Monster game, 37 point.
- 51:44Blowjob. Burrow, though, obviously solid,
- 51:46most people went with him, probably correctly.
- 51:49Pitman Junior had a good game. Colston Loveland pretty good for
- 51:52tight end. Josh Jacobs was the running back
- 51:54you wanted in this one as well. Jabba talked to me, I told him
- 51:59he won. He said save those compliments
- 52:02for next time. So I have the updated standing
- 52:05Speedy and again, the standings are real simple.
- 52:08If you get gold, you get 5 points, if you get silver you
- 52:10get 3 points and if you get bronze you get one point.
- 52:13And after 14 weeks of the NFL season and Save Your tears in
- 52:18first place with 31 points is Speedy PD in second place with
- 52:2325 points is the NIT in 3rd place with an even with 10
- 52:31deuces. Tommy scoops at 20 points at in
- 52:37fourth arrow marks. No my 15.
- 52:40Jabba Chamberlain moves ahead of me gets to 5th in 12 points.
- 52:45I'm with 10. Jared has nine.
- 52:48Jared, by the way, is sick with the flu.
- 52:50I want to hit it. Goody Goody got a .1 time that
- 52:54he played I. Think he got?
- 52:55Thursday I got the old man. And those are the standings.
- 52:59We got four more weeks to see if anyone can catch up to speed.
- 53:06Another tow job you. Got some work to do.

- 54:21League Baseball, played with the Tigers and the Giants last year,
- 54:23also played with the Blue Jays and the Astros in the past.

- 54:46Pete Alonzo, who knows? Winter meetings are about to
- 54:50begin, so I'm sure we're going to hear a lot from Brian Hoke
- 54:54when he comes on the show as well.
