- 0:20Speaker 1: Everybody's ready, radio perfect. What's going on? Everybody? I am
- 0:25Speaker 1: the one, the only, the w O O K I
- 0:27Speaker 1: E joined here. Okay, we got rid of a misfit,
- 0:30Speaker 1: but we replaced a misfit. But we have some of
- 0:33Speaker 1: the normal misfits. We have the kid who knows more
- 0:36Speaker 1: than you, mister Cole Robbie, Hey yo, everyone's favorite red
- 0:41Speaker 1: shirt Dexter. Hello, everybody, and we Felix, we just fired him,
- 0:48Speaker 1: just outright fied. He's no longer on the cast. We
- 0:50Speaker 1: replaced Felix with Loki. What's going on? Loki?
- 0:56Speaker 2: By get? That was it? That was it? I'm good,
- 1:02Speaker 2: I'm good. It's it's only eleven pm, so that that's
- 1:06Speaker 2: that's a good time to do that. I'm all fired up.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Let's let's do this.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Maybe we'll we'll try to keep it to a minimum
- 1:15Speaker 1: here today. Obviously there's a big time difference between us
- 1:18Speaker 1: and you, so we'll make sure you are. You are
- 1:21Speaker 1: quite arrested. Why don't we start out what was your
- 1:24Speaker 1: role and what do you do for altered.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And that's supposed to be shot? That answer should be
- 1:33Speaker 2: like one hour.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Give us like a quick answer.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Well, I wanted to give you the express platform to
- 1:41Speaker 4: explain everything you do. I mean, just try to make it.
- 1:45Speaker 1: You know, it's a list of what you don't do
- 1:48Speaker 1: smaller and we should just go there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Uh No, let's go with the thing I'm supposed to do,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and maybe I do. Uh So I'm the community builder,
- 2:00Speaker 2: so that's not really the committee manager. I also do
- 2:05Speaker 2: what a social media manager would do, so I post
- 2:08Speaker 2: things on social media. I do the animation on Discord
- 2:14Speaker 2: and other like social network. And I also manage all
- 2:19Speaker 2: the influants and like events activities where I'm there and
- 2:25Speaker 2: if there is anything cominter related. I do the pres
- 2:28Speaker 2: kits for the for the game. I do the planning
- 2:31Speaker 2: of reveals for the influencers and for the communitee. I
- 2:37Speaker 2: bother people at work. What else? Basically that that that's it,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and that's already a lot on a daily basis.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You also have a hand in helping design some of
- 2:50Speaker 4: the like swag right like play mats and the wooly
- 2:55Speaker 4: backplush other things.
- 2:59Speaker 2: No, not real well, it depends if it's something that
- 3:02Speaker 2: I use for my activities or not. So for example,
- 3:07Speaker 2: the bass Battle Metal, that's something that I've done at
- 3:12Speaker 2: least I've helped like ask what I wanted and the specifications,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and then somebody more talented than me did the design.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Another example, and she's in the in the audience, the
- 3:26Speaker 2: looking to explainat was all me writing stuff on the
- 3:29Speaker 2: playmath and then swolkey geographical thing. And then I do
- 3:36Speaker 2: have my say on stuff that are like commuity related.
- 3:40Speaker 2: So yeah, for example, the will backlash, I add the
- 3:43Speaker 2: final say in should we protest it or not? So yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I do stuff because I like to buy stuff, so
- 3:54Speaker 2: I do things that I want to buy. That's my secret.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Mm hmm yeah, quick quick aside to just say that
- 4:03Speaker 4: uh swarky or sorry, let me say it correctly. Swee
- 4:07Speaker 4: Orkie h does not give herself enough credit for all
- 4:12Speaker 4: the artsy stuff that she does. So good Paul out
- 4:16Speaker 4: there by Loki. I had a picture of the medal.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I had a really good picture of the first player
- 4:23Speaker 4: like medtal token that I was going to share in
- 4:27Speaker 4: the live. There it is in the live audience. It
- 4:29Speaker 4: is a very a very very nice coin. It is
- 4:32Speaker 4: my new favorite first player coin. But hmm do we
- 4:37Speaker 4: uh well, actually, there is there is one question that
- 4:42Speaker 4: I think I know the answer to that I kind
- 4:45Speaker 4: of want to get out of the way, and people
- 4:48Speaker 4: are I think reading into this too much, so we'll
- 4:52Speaker 4: just ask it. Why are the booster boxes of Skybound
- 4:56Speaker 4: Odyssey more than they've been before?
- 5:01Speaker 2: What more?
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah, they are a higher MSRP at least in most countries.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Ah, Honestly, I don't know. That's not something well, I'm
- 5:22Speaker 2: not like responsible of that kind of decisions. It's likely
- 5:27Speaker 2: due to inflation, slightly due to logins that you do
- 5:31Speaker 2: to a lot of stuff. But the real reason why
- 5:36Speaker 2: is I don't know, and I don't even know what
- 5:39Speaker 2: I do know, but I could not communicate with you
- 5:45Speaker 2: the price of the new displays, so I'm not even
- 5:48Speaker 2: sure it will be aligned to what it was.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I think for me it's a very obvious result
- 5:56Speaker 4: of you know, the last year of everything pariffs and
- 6:01Speaker 4: how should go? Yep, I think it now, No, I
- 6:06Speaker 4: think it now. Booster box MSRP is one hundred and
- 6:10Speaker 4: sixty five, one hundred and sixty eight, thank you, Wyverne.
- 6:14Speaker 4: And it used to be one forty four.
- 6:16Speaker 1: But the so literally we're all complaining about twenty four dollars.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Yeah, well, and people are ready.
- 6:24Speaker 1: A pack of soda. Last year used to call me
- 6:27Speaker 1: cost me four ninety eight, it's now almost ten dollars, so,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I mean, but twenty four dollars for our premium cardboards
- 6:34Speaker 1: on Bridge too far?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Come on now?
- 6:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it was kind of a hard question to ask
- 6:39Speaker 4: Loki because I mean, it is not his fault, but
- 6:43Speaker 4: people were like thinking that Equinox was adding more into
- 6:46Speaker 4: the box and Equinox was deciding to charge more, and
- 6:50Speaker 4: I was like, no, no, no, I'm pretty sure that's
- 6:52Speaker 4: not the reason.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So I do have a question for you, and that
- 6:58Speaker 2: maybe a stupid question because you may have the answer,
- 7:01Speaker 2: But are you, like all familiar with the distribution circuit
- 7:05Speaker 2: and what is our role and what was the role
- 7:08Speaker 2: of p SMODI and how everything else was designed?
- 7:15Speaker 4: I think I personally have a decent grasp, but it'd
- 7:18Speaker 4: probably be great for you to explain that as quickly
- 7:23Speaker 4: as you can.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I can try quickly. A lot of people, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: especially at the beginning, and well even now in the US,
- 7:35Speaker 2: we've seen a lot of people like angry because the
- 7:38Speaker 2: game was not available and they were asking us, why
- 7:41Speaker 2: are you not like prompting the game and everything, and basically,
- 7:46Speaker 2: we are only creating the game, were not publishing it,
- 7:51Speaker 2: and that's something that is a bit different from video game,
- 7:54Speaker 2: for example, in which they are also publishing and creating
- 7:58Speaker 2: the game. So we only a studio, we create the game,
- 8:02Speaker 2: and then the game was sold to Asmodi, and then
- 8:06Speaker 2: asbody was contacting all the local distribution units asking for
- 8:12Speaker 2: the cantuities like that they think their shops are going
- 8:17Speaker 2: to buy. And then everybody agrees on prices. How much
- 8:23Speaker 2: do we sell those boosters to smodi and what is
- 8:27Speaker 2: the margin at this point and everything. So there are
- 8:30Speaker 2: a lot of things in this distribution circuit that goes.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I've seen a few discussions about this about Australia. Australia
- 8:41Speaker 2: is very far away obviously, so you can either ship
- 8:44Speaker 2: by boat or by playing. But if you do that
- 8:46Speaker 2: at some point it will be cheap. It will be
- 8:49Speaker 2: more expensive that doing that by boat, so the margin
- 8:54Speaker 2: will be different. And there's a lot of things that
- 8:57Speaker 2: is happening, and there's been also terarriffs and so I
- 9:01Speaker 2: guess it was like a global decision to change that
- 9:05Speaker 2: so that everybody would find themselves comfortable with the imagines.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But once again, that's a business thing, so people are
- 9:15Speaker 2: not like always aware of what it will do to
- 9:18Speaker 2: the final customer what is they know? But if you
- 9:21Speaker 2: want the business to keep running, you have to like
- 9:24Speaker 2: adjust a few things at that route. And probably you
- 9:28Speaker 2: are again to ask me, what are the changes now
- 9:32Speaker 2: if we distribute ourselves, Well, we will be distributing again
- 9:37Speaker 2: all sales. So that's that's a big change because there
- 9:40Speaker 2: is a part of the secret that is gone with
- 9:44Speaker 2: the good aspect and the bad aspect. But yeah, that
- 9:49Speaker 2: was as short as I could.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I think that put it into a very
- 9:54Speaker 4: good context. And to be honest, it's kind of outside
- 9:58Speaker 4: of what the rest of this conversation will be. But
- 10:00Speaker 4: I just saw the question pop up in multiple different places,
- 10:04Speaker 4: and so it's good to hear more info because people
- 10:08Speaker 4: don't trust me. I'm just a random vegetable.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Well that's I think that's number one, and I don't
- 10:15Speaker 1: even Yeah, it is what it is. It's kind of
- 10:17Speaker 1: a silly quest. I've never known. I've been on this
- 10:20Speaker 1: earth for thirty seven years, and in all of my
- 10:23Speaker 1: thirty seven years, the only thing I've ever seen go
- 10:26Speaker 1: down in price is gas, and that's sometimes right, and
- 10:31Speaker 1: most almost everything goes up, So like, why did it
- 10:35Speaker 1: go up? Twenty four dollars because it's the year twenty
- 10:37Speaker 1: twenty five, you know, that's that's kind of why So
- 10:41Speaker 1: that's that's just kind of like and it's only twenty
- 10:43Speaker 1: four bucks, like that's not that much to really get
- 10:46Speaker 1: all concerned about. So but I guess with a big
- 10:50Speaker 1: with a big change comes like oh this this must
- 10:52Speaker 1: be because of this, the normal knee jerk reaction of everything.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So alrighty, you want to keep going into your your
- 11:04Speaker 1: your ready your starters here?
- 11:08Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I do. I do have some soft ball questions,
- 11:12Speaker 4: so we can start soft I guess, you know, get
- 11:14Speaker 4: that run time up? What are what are you most
- 11:19Speaker 4: excited about? Where this change?
- 11:24Speaker 2: So while I'm doing this, uh yeah, probably I'm inswering
- 11:30Speaker 2: at the same time another of the file. Uh anyway, yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 2: more visible that way. I think it's well, it's a
- 11:44Speaker 2: mix of many things, but one of the main thing
- 11:48Speaker 2: is personally, I'm very reppy that we are distributing the
- 11:52Speaker 2: game to anybody that wants it, because one of the
- 11:56Speaker 2: most frustrating thing for me when I'm reading all the
- 12:00Speaker 2: private messages on Instagram, for example, other questions like how
- 12:06Speaker 2: do I get the game? Are you not selling the game? Yourself,
- 12:10Speaker 2: and no we are not. And if you check out
- 12:13Speaker 2: any other TCGs, they are not saying the game themselves.
- 12:16Speaker 2: So people were expecting that from us and we were
- 12:19Speaker 2: not able to do that, and people we're not doing that.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So the thing now that we are distributing ourselves, it
- 12:30Speaker 2: will be way better for people to get the game,
- 12:32Speaker 2: which is something that I'm very excited about really, and
- 12:38Speaker 2: even for shops, I think it will be way better
- 12:40Speaker 2: for them to just like contact us and get all
- 12:44Speaker 2: the advantages they have to reach us. So that's a
- 12:48Speaker 2: good thing. And then we have some I'm not din
- 12:54Speaker 2: say margin, but we have more room to experiment stuff
- 13:00Speaker 2: the pleasure or products or even like I'll say that
- 13:08Speaker 2: when you when you do product that is going I'm
- 13:11Speaker 2: not going to say mainstream, but at least go to
- 13:14Speaker 2: that niche you are expected to produce some items on
- 13:19Speaker 2: some regular things and altered as not being like doing
- 13:24Speaker 2: like everybody else. So that way, by not being on
- 13:30Speaker 2: the classic system, will be probably able to be more
- 13:33Speaker 2: us that what we used to be. And I'm not
- 13:38Speaker 2: saying that it is a good thing. Being me is
- 13:41Speaker 2: a terrible thing, but being us probably going to be fun.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So I'm I'm excited for that.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Yeah, you'll definitely have more control now now that you
- 13:51Speaker 5: don't have to go to Asthma Day for everything, and
- 13:54Speaker 5: you can, yeah, deal with your own organized play and
- 13:57Speaker 5: other things.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Yes, exactly.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I was just gonna say exactly, like when you wanted
- 14:07Speaker 4: to make something for Altered before, you kind of had
- 14:09Speaker 4: to go to mom and dad, Mom being Asthma Dae
- 14:12Speaker 4: and Dad being game genic, And now I mean you
- 14:17Speaker 4: just really have to decide as a team and maybe
- 14:20Speaker 4: go to a factory direct if you want to do
- 14:23Speaker 4: a Hunger plush in the future or something.
- 14:27Speaker 2: But that's also means that we're going to have way
- 14:32Speaker 2: much more like work than what used to do, because
- 14:35Speaker 2: if you're working with the distributor, you expect the distributor
- 14:38Speaker 2: to do that distributing job and do that like selling
- 14:43Speaker 2: the game to shops directly. Since that will be gone,
- 14:48Speaker 2: it will be up to us to do that, and
- 14:52Speaker 2: that's going to be complicated.
- 14:54Speaker 4: I do not know what happened, but we lost Wookie
- 14:57Speaker 4: somehow in the audience.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, I didn't know it was I
- 15:03Speaker 1: was just listening. You're like, I look up. I'm like, well,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I am in the audience who knew.
- 15:10Speaker 4: All right, last last softball from me is what did
- 15:15Speaker 4: the decision process look like leading up to this change?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Probably meetings with people with higher salary than I have,
- 15:30Speaker 2: So I do not know exactly all all the things
- 15:34Speaker 2: that were involved in this. What I do know is
- 15:39Speaker 2: that it was not done on a whim. It was
- 15:45Speaker 2: discussed with Asthma ri uh, it was discussed with retailers
- 15:50Speaker 2: to have discussed with the community. So a lot of
- 15:53Speaker 2: people were involved in a lot of like a lot
- 15:57Speaker 2: of steps just to make sure that we could like
- 16:01Speaker 2: actually pull it at all the decisions, like all the
- 16:08Speaker 2: thought process. Honestly, I do not have all the answers
- 16:14Speaker 2: about that, so I could not tell you everything because
- 16:19Speaker 2: I just myself do not know everything.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it's great to hear that you met with, you know,
- 16:26Speaker 4: multiple different groups of people instead of just I don't
- 16:31Speaker 4: know the board, whether or not there's an actual board,
- 16:35Speaker 4: but that concept, but actually the community and stores and
- 16:39Speaker 4: things like that to get feedback. So that's really cool.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, LOOKI you what's my turn now?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I might have to pick and choose if we're
- 16:54Speaker 4: going to get to some of Felix's unless we just
- 16:57Speaker 4: really ousted him entirely.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we are to him entirely. So you guys
- 17:03Speaker 1: called this a pre order as opposed to like a
- 17:07Speaker 1: traditional game founder kickstarter. What was the decision making and
- 17:12Speaker 1: going back to game found to doing a game found
- 17:15Speaker 1: as opposed to just letting stores handle pre orders.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so, okay, there are two questions for the first aspect,
- 17:30Speaker 2: and I think it's something that I've answered, and I
- 17:33Speaker 2: my answer will be meeting with the older versions of
- 17:37Speaker 2: what I've said previously. But it's a pre order because
- 17:43Speaker 2: the product basically is done, well don't in the sense
- 17:50Speaker 2: that every everything they are looking on the uniques I
- 17:52Speaker 2: think right now. And yeah, so it's really one of
- 17:59Speaker 2: the quantities that we need to produce to fit what
- 18:03Speaker 2: the people actually want from the product. So that's why
- 18:07Speaker 2: we call that pre order and not a crowd funding
- 18:10Speaker 2: because in any case, the game is developed, it's done,
- 18:14Speaker 2: is finished, so it's only just pre order the quantity
- 18:19Speaker 2: that will be done if like there is no strategical
- 18:23Speaker 2: or anything. Oops.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So yeah, just gives you an idea of what what
- 18:31Speaker 1: you're going to need to produce.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, ok, yeah, exactly the thing. Also you've said, why
- 18:40Speaker 2: not only go through to the shops. That is a
- 18:46Speaker 2: good question, and honestly, I once again do not have
- 18:50Speaker 2: all the answers, because that's that's actually a good one.
- 18:54Speaker 2: But if I need to guess, and I'm just guessing
- 18:58Speaker 2: at this point, but doing again found when we saw
- 19:07Speaker 2: the kickstart of the success that he had and it
- 19:09Speaker 2: way like the reach of the kickstarter was amazing and
- 19:14Speaker 2: it was beyond our initial expectations. You create discussions, you
- 19:20Speaker 2: create a lot of stuff, you create some discussions about
- 19:26Speaker 2: about the game, and it's a moment to celebrate the game.
- 19:31Speaker 2: And I think that's that's something that we wanted to do,
- 19:35Speaker 2: especially since we know that the game like stumbled at
- 19:40Speaker 2: some point. When you look back right now the marketplace
- 19:45Speaker 2: is released, Bja's walking. A lot of stuff that were
- 19:50Speaker 2: promised when we are now celebrating that that first year anniversary,
- 19:57Speaker 2: things have been delivered, but there have been some issues.
- 20:01Speaker 2: There have been some distribution issues also, there have been
- 20:03Speaker 2: some quantities issues. So we wanted to have that moment,
- 20:10Speaker 2: that celebration moment, and I think that's what we are doing,
- 20:15Speaker 2: and that's also a way for us, and that's something
- 20:18Speaker 2: that not only me, but you're seeing me a lot
- 20:22Speaker 2: on socials and discord, but we like to be close
- 20:27Speaker 2: to people. We like to enjoy those moments with the
- 20:30Speaker 2: communitee and that's on that's in our DNA to share
- 20:33Speaker 2: those moments. And also, and that's also hypothesis on my side,
- 20:40Speaker 2: but with the current light, we know that for example,
- 20:48Speaker 2: the game in the US, and that's something that you
- 20:50Speaker 2: guys told me several times, some shops do not have
- 20:54Speaker 2: the game or do not have the game anymore. And
- 20:56Speaker 2: if you go through the shops, why would they say yes?
- 21:01Speaker 2: But at the same time, if you do game Found
- 21:03Speaker 2: and gainstraction, you're showing people that people want the game.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And also from once again an discertion standpoint, for people
- 21:13Speaker 2: that were saying I have a bunch a friend and
- 21:17Speaker 2: we cannot play the game because a local game shops
- 21:20Speaker 2: they don't have the game. Well, now you can get
- 21:22Speaker 2: it on Game Found. And then if you're playing in ulgs,
- 21:28Speaker 2: we've with your friends with the cads that you've bought
- 21:32Speaker 2: on the game Found that maybe those people will be
- 21:35Speaker 2: interested in running op for the next time. And and
- 21:38Speaker 2: then you create those local gumuchis that were not doable
- 21:43Speaker 2: in the past, and that will be way better, and
- 21:46Speaker 2: I think I answered like multiple questions at once.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I think you did so. Yeah, but that's because for
- 21:53Speaker 1: me though I can't I've talked about this many times
- 21:57Speaker 1: in the show. I can't get U altered, like I
- 22:00Speaker 1: have to order it from you know, wherever I can
- 22:04Speaker 1: order it online. There are no shots around me who
- 22:06Speaker 1: do anything with with the game at this point, and
- 22:11Speaker 1: being somebody who I don't enjoy online play as much
- 22:15Speaker 1: as others, I much prefer in person. So normally whenever
- 22:20Speaker 1: Dexter comes around, I play a few games with him.
- 22:22Speaker 1: But yeah, the game founds a big way for me
- 22:26Speaker 1: to have access to it as well. So were there
- 22:29Speaker 1: were there any fears about going to get to the
- 22:33Speaker 1: game found platform as far as the you know, local
- 22:36Speaker 1: gaming store game found kind of being a big four
- 22:41Speaker 1: letter word kind of taboo that I know a lot
- 22:44Speaker 1: of game stores hate to hear. Yeah, when it comes
- 22:47Speaker 1: down to a.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Product, I mean, I mean that that's obvious. Saying the
- 22:53Speaker 2: contrary would be lying because it's the same thing that
- 22:58Speaker 2: that happened when we start the game. You do not
- 23:01Speaker 2: know how people are going to react to a product
- 23:04Speaker 2: that nobody has done before. And I know that some
- 23:09Speaker 2: people are comparing us to Keyfoards about going to to
- 23:14Speaker 2: get found and everything. I don't think that's that's the same. Still,
- 23:19Speaker 2: you cannot know how people are going to react to this,
- 23:23Speaker 2: And I'm going to say, like a bullshit example, but
- 23:26Speaker 2: maybe nobody is going to buy displays of sets five,
- 23:30Speaker 2: but the willibags are going to be like sold out
- 23:33Speaker 2: in two minutes. You never know. You don't know how
- 23:37Speaker 2: that's going to like go so.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Weird story Well, Forge released the plushy. I said, these
- 23:45Speaker 1: things are the dumbest things ever. Everyone else loves.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Everyone bought them.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Everyone.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Yeah, my friend helped design it.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I know.
- 23:53Speaker 1: And it's like I was like, what kind of grown
- 23:56Speaker 1: person who is gonna want a stupid stuffed animal? And
- 23:59Speaker 1: then everyone's like I have seven of them, Like why why?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So I'm actually planning to buy several. I
- 24:07Speaker 2: want one to to keep, like as a memento of
- 24:11Speaker 2: the game, but I do want one that I will
- 24:13Speaker 2: be like making clothes for like all disgust and stuff.
- 24:18Speaker 2: And I want one that will be in the office
- 24:21Speaker 2: that I will just use to throw away at people.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I just throw you throw this people.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And I understand this because I own a phone brick
- 24:31Speaker 1: that I throw at my employees where they pissed me off.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so see totally understood that blushes up like it's
- 24:39Speaker 2: it's a therapy. You have to you have to buy
- 24:41Speaker 2: them anyway.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I can't throw real bricks, so I.
- 24:46Speaker 2: F you can, but you're going to do that only
- 24:50Speaker 2: once and then.
- 24:52Speaker 1: A weird story you only get to do it the
- 24:54Speaker 1: one time then hr because it's evolved back.
- 24:58Speaker 2: To the question we My like feeling about that is
- 25:05Speaker 2: that shops that have the game right now and they
- 25:08Speaker 2: have a strong scene just going to continue the game,
- 25:13Speaker 2: they may open and that's something that I think, Yeah,
- 25:20Speaker 2: shops will be able to like pre order the game
- 25:23Speaker 2: before player, so they will be able to also like
- 25:27Speaker 2: open per other for people way before people can actually
- 25:31Speaker 2: go on Game Found. So that will be one way
- 25:35Speaker 2: to like get cash and get an idea of how
- 25:39Speaker 2: much people are willing to get the game through the
- 25:43Speaker 2: shops and not through the Game Found. So that's that's
- 25:48Speaker 2: one of the first things. And I don't think both
- 25:52Speaker 2: are going to be like uh fighting. I mean a
- 25:56Speaker 2: lot of people are saying this that you are going
- 25:58Speaker 2: to buy on the Game Found and and you're not
- 26:00Speaker 2: going to buy to the shop. I think that's and
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'm sorry for all the people that are going to
- 26:05Speaker 2: be listening to this. I do believe that this is bullshit.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I've been playing TCGs. I'm one year younger than you,
- 26:14Speaker 2: Wookie some thirty six at the moment. I've been playing
- 26:17Speaker 2: TCGs for a long time. I was younger than Dexter when.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And you never, like by just one displain and you're like, Okay,
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good for the entry five months. No,
- 26:34Speaker 2: you're playing locally, you'll be willing to do a draft,
- 26:37Speaker 2: You'll be you'll be saying, hey, I'm missing some rares,
- 26:40Speaker 2: or I just want another display. Where you're going to
- 26:43Speaker 2: go You're going to go to the shops. Of course,
- 26:47Speaker 2: when a new set is released, there is a huge
- 26:49Speaker 2: spike in sales, like in the first two weeks, and
- 26:52Speaker 2: then it's quieter. But I do think that I think
- 26:56Speaker 2: things in shop won't be an issue.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I'm going off script on this
- 27:03Speaker 1: or not, but like, do you I mean, I know
- 27:05Speaker 1: you already had said that you're going to have certain
- 27:08Speaker 1: items that are only going to be available at the
- 27:10Speaker 1: game shop, Like, is there a way that you're going
- 27:14Speaker 1: to maybe push people to be like, yeah, you can
- 27:17Speaker 1: buy from the Game Found, but if you buy from
- 27:20Speaker 1: your local game store, you will also maybe get X,
- 27:23Speaker 1: Y and Z. You know, it's like like Projic did
- 27:27Speaker 1: for a long time with like a box topper or
- 27:29Speaker 1: like something cool that like I'm not going to get.
- 27:32Speaker 1: You know, I can order three boxes from the Game Found,
- 27:34Speaker 1: or I can go order three boxes from Jeff down
- 27:37Speaker 1: the street and I'll get this cool thing.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Obviously, I cannot go far into the details.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I know I went totally off script and took a
- 27:47Speaker 1: right turner apologize.
- 27:49Speaker 2: But that's just only fine because as I was stelling
- 27:52Speaker 2: you before, we've sent today a newsletter to hold them
- 27:58Speaker 2: the stalls that we had, you know, database, and we
- 28:02Speaker 2: discuss with them, like we announced a few things that
- 28:06Speaker 2: they will be getting in eyeo quantity that people could
- 28:11Speaker 2: ever oder on the Game Found. Okay, so that's it
- 28:18Speaker 2: will be leaking anyway at some point because we know,
- 28:21Speaker 2: and that's a good thing people will be discussing. But
- 28:24Speaker 2: there is a very specific product that the shops will
- 28:28Speaker 2: be able to get in far larger quantities that you can.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So if you want that, you have to go to
- 28:37Speaker 2: the shop.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think, just to back up what you said,
- 28:43Speaker 4: using the example of myself and L e. O. For
- 28:47Speaker 4: the Dallas area, we probably attend the locals the most often,
- 28:53Speaker 4: and both of us are like, yeah, well back the
- 28:56Speaker 4: game Found and still go to our local store and
- 28:59Speaker 4: buy things from them here and there. So will there
- 29:02Speaker 4: be a person that only does it for the game Found? Probably,
- 29:06Speaker 4: but they're probably already like the tabletop gamer, you know,
- 29:09Speaker 4: the kitchen table and nothing was really going to change that.
- 29:14Speaker 4: So yeah, a lot of people that support their lgs
- 29:18Speaker 4: will continue to support their lgs as long as they
- 29:21Speaker 4: have a way to.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I know that some people, and once again I'm sorry
- 29:28Speaker 2: I'm getting a bit of script on this, but a
- 29:31Speaker 2: lot of people were asking, why should I go to
- 29:35Speaker 2: my store if I can order on the game Found. Dude,
- 29:39Speaker 2: you don't even know what we're going to see on
- 29:41Speaker 2: the game film, so you don't even know if it's
- 29:45Speaker 2: better for you or not, if it's fitting the kind
- 29:50Speaker 2: of player that you are. Are you a player? Are
- 29:52Speaker 2: you a collector? Are you a competitive player? That's way
- 29:56Speaker 2: different is the pledge the exact number of display that
- 30:01Speaker 2: you want, is the plage having the items that you want?
- 30:06Speaker 2: That's so many questions that people like project the worst scenario,
- 30:12Speaker 2: but all the information out there yet, And that was
- 30:17Speaker 2: at the ends up my sentence.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I think it's also good to just reiterate something you
- 30:23Speaker 4: said where stores will have their own path outside of
- 30:27Speaker 4: game Found to order.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Correct. Okay, cool, that's true.
- 30:33Speaker 1: So I do have I guess I have some questions
- 30:35Speaker 1: on the game Found because you kind of cleared a
- 30:37Speaker 1: couple up. So is being I know a little bit,
- 30:43Speaker 1: very little bit about game Found with just working with
- 30:45Speaker 1: it obviously from KeyForge, but it's game Found more of
- 30:49Speaker 1: an indie like indie Go go, like this is how
- 30:52Speaker 1: much you ordered it, this is how much we have
- 30:54Speaker 1: to produce, as opposed to a kickstarter where like you
- 30:57Speaker 1: set a goal and you have to hit that goal
- 31:00Speaker 1: otherwise and nothing ever happens with it. Because I know
- 31:07Speaker 1: there's a like we just released another game phone for KeyForge, right,
- 31:12Speaker 1: you know, it was like fifty thousand dollars is our
- 31:15Speaker 1: our backing goal. Right, Obviously that's not a lot of money, right,
- 31:21Speaker 1: so it gets backed really quickly, And our assumption always
- 31:25Speaker 1: was on the other side, was well, it's a nice
- 31:28Speaker 1: marketing piece that you know, as a marketerer. You could
- 31:30Speaker 1: be funded in twenty seven seconds. You know, it's a
- 31:32Speaker 1: nice banner piece you're able to put out there. But
- 31:36Speaker 1: then now after hearing this, it's like, well, maybe that's
- 31:39Speaker 1: just like, is that the lowest you can set the goal?
- 31:42Speaker 1: Maybe you don't have to even set a goal. I
- 31:44Speaker 1: haven't done really any research on this point, but it's like, well,
- 31:48Speaker 1: maybe you don't have to do a goal and just
- 31:49Speaker 1: whatever his order is ordered and they can fulfill it.
- 31:51Speaker 1: At that point, I think.
- 31:54Speaker 2: You have to do you have to do a goal anyway.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I honestly do you not know the nervevielle that is
- 31:59Speaker 2: going to be set. I do remember that we did.
- 32:03Speaker 2: We've done the same for the key starter, so probably
- 32:06Speaker 2: it's going to be something like that, But I do
- 32:10Speaker 2: not know. What I can tell you is that game
- 32:13Speaker 2: found actually acquired indiegog.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that I don't know, but like I know,
- 32:20Speaker 1: like Indiegogo was like, yeah, you can just order it
- 32:22Speaker 1: and whatever is ordered's ordered, like there was no goal
- 32:26Speaker 1: or like Kickstarter, if you know, if you sat like, hey,
- 32:29Speaker 1: it's a million dollars to fund this project. If it
- 32:31Speaker 1: doesn't hit that million dollars, it just kind of sits
- 32:34Speaker 1: in purgatory for forever, you know, until it hits that
- 32:37Speaker 1: dollar amount, you know, but then you know, I don't know.
- 32:40Speaker 1: If I don't honestly know if Game Found was the same.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I have no idea honestly on that. I have no idea.
- 32:48Speaker 2: And the sales that are going to be done to
- 32:53Speaker 2: the shops directly won't even be concerning the total for
- 32:57Speaker 2: the for the Game Found, so I have no idea
- 33:01Speaker 2: how they're getting to to do this calculation. I barely
- 33:07Speaker 2: can count to ten when I'm playing at it, so
- 33:11Speaker 2: I'm not going to count millions fair enough.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I did have another couple of questions here that I'm
- 33:16Speaker 1: going to kind of just kind of strike because I
- 33:22Speaker 1: don't think they're really relevant. But as far as prizing
- 33:26Speaker 1: kits and whatnot go, it's been a challenge for me
- 33:30Speaker 1: in my area, especially since you know, I do know
- 33:33Speaker 1: people who do play, but like we're not able to
- 33:37Speaker 1: like really get you know, any prizing or anything like
- 33:39Speaker 1: that because we're not in a brick and mortar store.
- 33:42Speaker 1: It does take a long time to get a brick
- 33:44Speaker 1: and mortar store, you know, you come to them, You're like, hey,
- 33:46Speaker 1: I want to do this, and they're like, ah, well,
- 33:48Speaker 1: think about it, and then you know, you circle back
- 33:51Speaker 1: around and you're like, what about it? They're like, we
- 33:54Speaker 1: don't know, and you're kind of stuck in this like
- 33:57Speaker 1: circle right, But it's like, okay, Well, if I have
- 34:00Speaker 1: a game club and say we meet somewhere, is it
- 34:02Speaker 1: possible you guys would be willing to send out prizing
- 34:05Speaker 1: kids to like clubs and whatnot? Or is that not?
- 34:10Speaker 2: I think I think it's too soon. Is it's not
- 34:15Speaker 2: too soon like in the in the product's life, but
- 34:21Speaker 2: it's too soon with this this new system. How do
- 34:26Speaker 2: you like if we wanted to do that, we would
- 34:29Speaker 2: have liked to solve several stuff. One of the third
- 34:33Speaker 2: things that we need to solve is we're speaking for
- 34:36Speaker 2: the shipping cost? Is it us? Is it is it them?
- 34:41Speaker 2: How we're going to send that? How much do we
- 34:45Speaker 2: produce for that? How do we select those people? Like
- 34:50Speaker 2: if you start an Nobi club in in some place
- 34:53Speaker 2: that is very crowded, that school that you are three people,
- 34:58Speaker 2: should we send you stuff? How do we create the
- 35:02Speaker 2: rules in which people are made eligible to get this?
- 35:08Speaker 2: So that's that's very complicated. The limit that we've set
- 35:11Speaker 2: so far is if you have a club and you
- 35:15Speaker 2: have a shop that is willing to just set up
- 35:18Speaker 2: a store accounts, it is okay for them to let
- 35:22Speaker 2: you use it to create events as long as it's
- 35:25Speaker 2: done through the shop's account. So that's the thing that
- 35:31Speaker 2: we are doing. But the physical pricing kits, that's a
- 35:35Speaker 2: lot of things that would be needed to be considered
- 35:40Speaker 2: and we are not like big enough to do that
- 35:45Speaker 2: and I'm not even sure like any other TCGs are
- 35:48Speaker 2: doing that. So of course we would love to do that,
- 35:52Speaker 2: but I don't think we have the manpower right now
- 35:55Speaker 2: because I am one hundred person sure that we would
- 35:58Speaker 2: get like dozens of message from people asking, hey, I
- 36:03Speaker 2: once organize stuff with micropow friends, and we want to
- 36:06Speaker 2: do that. But if we are giving away stuff for people,
- 36:10Speaker 2: all those people are still going to be like going
- 36:14Speaker 2: to the shops. You don't know that, So you have
- 36:16Speaker 2: to investigate on the region. Is us doing that making
- 36:22Speaker 2: it worse for the shops or nuts? There are so
- 36:24Speaker 2: many things to consider. We don't we don't have the
- 36:28Speaker 2: time right now, but at which we had, but we
- 36:31Speaker 2: don't not have a.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Good antidote or not antidote, what's the word uh not antidote. Anecdote.
- 36:42Speaker 4: There you go, Thank you college educated Dexter. So, how
- 36:47Speaker 4: the current system is is you have to reach out
- 36:50Speaker 4: to your local asthmid A branch, right, So for all
- 36:55Speaker 4: of us in the United States, it's basically as mid
- 36:57Speaker 4: A North America. And every single person I know that
- 37:02Speaker 4: has ever tried to ask Asthma Day for something in
- 37:06Speaker 4: that regard at all, they never ever get an answer. Yes,
- 37:11Speaker 4: So that's already more of an answer than we've had
- 37:15Speaker 4: from Asthma Day in the past. So yeah, it is.
- 37:19Speaker 2: It is a lot.
- 37:22Speaker 4: But yeah, I think that was good.
- 37:26Speaker 1: No, I mean it's an honest answer to because I
- 37:30Speaker 1: kind of expected the same answer that I got, Because
- 37:34Speaker 1: it's where do you draw that line? Right? How do
- 37:37Speaker 1: you know this is actually going to somebody who's playing,
- 37:40Speaker 1: you know, at their local library or wherever the case
- 37:43Speaker 1: may be, and not to you know, Steve and his
- 37:46Speaker 1: basement just now opening gobs of of of prize packs
- 37:50Speaker 1: because he says he has he's got a he runs
- 37:53Speaker 1: a tournament there every week. Right, So it's it's a
- 37:56Speaker 1: very it's a tough line and where do you draw it?
- 37:59Speaker 1: And you're always is unfortunately going to have to like
- 38:03Speaker 1: upset some people over it because it's just it's the
- 38:07Speaker 1: it is the nature of the beast, right, so that
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's not fun, but it is what it is, right.
- 38:13Speaker 2: So and and just to I know that you guys
- 38:17Speaker 2: had issue with a distribution and everything, but when you
- 38:21Speaker 2: look at the bigger picture, and even though Asthma ris
- 38:25Speaker 2: is a big company like imaging, know, having all those
- 38:30Speaker 2: meetings and working on several TCGs and having like even
- 38:36Speaker 2: one email like per week from every state from people
- 38:42Speaker 2: willing to organize something, you just cannot answer that. And
- 38:46Speaker 2: if you start making an exception and setting a precedent,
- 38:51Speaker 2: you'll be sure that people are going to be like
- 38:54Speaker 2: angry and asking for more, and everybody will want to
- 38:58Speaker 2: have the same thing, and then the poor Asthmatic guy
- 39:01Speaker 2: will be like drowning under emails that really, like community
- 39:07Speaker 2: relation is really one job that should not be done.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Like people who al really have a lot of things
- 39:18Speaker 2: on their plate, and there is a strategy like a
- 39:22Speaker 2: thing on that and that that's very like complex to manage.
- 39:27Speaker 2: So and that's that's logical. At the end of the day,
- 39:31Speaker 2: we we have that many hours to work and you
- 39:34Speaker 2: have to choose your fights, and we do know that
- 39:39Speaker 2: we are still a little TCG and maybe one of
- 39:42Speaker 2: the few TCGs we've we flash n G a so
- 39:48Speaker 2: archive not having a brand. So and that's that's very different,
- 39:55Speaker 2: very different. You can choose more like focused and passion
- 40:01Speaker 2: because they only have that medium to leave that patient,
- 40:04Speaker 2: like if you like Style Wars and you play unlimited
- 40:06Speaker 2: at that school, but you can also go on the
- 40:08Speaker 2: couch and watch episode three if you have good taste,
- 40:14Speaker 2: episode eight if you have less good taste, but you
- 40:17Speaker 2: can still like leave your passion outside of the of
- 40:21Speaker 2: the game for although it's very different. So so that
- 40:25Speaker 2: that's that's very complicated, very complicated.
- 40:28Speaker 4: A lot of people forgive a lot for their favorite ips.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Like I've had multiple people tell me that Larkhana is
- 40:35Speaker 4: actually a very poorly made game, but it's Disney, so
- 40:39Speaker 4: they play it. Yes, Yeah, they're a lot more forgiving
- 40:43Speaker 4: for that.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Yeah. And I can appreciate the you know, prequel trilogy apologists,
- 40:51Speaker 1: it's cool. I like episode three too. Anyway, gonna go
- 40:55Speaker 1: along with Dexter nobody.
- 40:58Speaker 3: So I was wondering before the.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Everyone's had and nobody can.
- 41:03Speaker 3: You had a lot of questions.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I did have no, no, I made an episode a
- 41:07Speaker 1: prequel joke and nobody understood it.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Star Wars.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Do you know what I have?
- 41:12Speaker 3: I have seen all the Star Wars Wonder.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Two episodes backround?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Have you ever heard the tragedy of Blue the Wise?
- 41:24Speaker 2: Blue the Wise the Wise? All right, let's go, let's
- 41:30Speaker 2: go shoot.
- 41:31Speaker 5: I wish I was curious for in the future when
- 41:34Speaker 5: stores are able to order directly from you, if they're
- 41:36Speaker 5: able to get previous sets, and what all will be
- 41:39Speaker 5: available to them through the direct method with y'all.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, and no, we do have some Oh
- 41:54Speaker 2: my god, how to tailed things without spoiling things? I'm
- 41:58Speaker 2: sweating right now. It's the SACA. I'm not sure anyway,
- 42:04Speaker 2: So right now the official word is Asthmadi is still
- 42:09Speaker 2: distributing the previous game and they are not going to
- 42:14Speaker 2: stop doing that. That's very important to know. So they
- 42:19Speaker 2: are going to do that. And something that I can
- 42:20Speaker 2: say here that I'm not usually saying in the French
- 42:26Speaker 2: or European things. We are going to get the game
- 42:34Speaker 2: I think in some like equivalent of gamestops here, which
- 42:42Speaker 2: is good. So it's not going to be only like
- 42:44Speaker 2: local game stalls, but like also mainstream shops, which is
- 42:48Speaker 2: a good thing. And that's all as.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Most game stops and stuff like that, so.
- 42:53Speaker 2: We don't have an equivalent to targets. But yeah, game
- 42:57Speaker 2: stops I used to the most, the closest that we
- 43:03Speaker 2: which we have, so that's a good thing. That's a
- 43:07Speaker 2: very good thing. And and they will still have that.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Will we sell also the previous set? Yes, yes, also,
- 43:19Speaker 2: but that you will have to to see during the
- 43:21Speaker 2: game found and shops will have to see directly. But
- 43:25Speaker 2: once again, we'll not like it's not the war revest money.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Everybody's like a chill with each other, so we'll see
- 43:33Speaker 2: how how that goes.
- 43:35Speaker 1: All right, follow up question to that, is there a limit?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Is there going to be a time where you're like, hey, guys,
- 43:43Speaker 1: no more Trial by Frost. It's sold out, We have
- 43:46Speaker 1: no more what it's on the market's on the market.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Is there? Do you guys have like a cutof where
- 43:50Speaker 1: you're like, we're not going to be printing anymore? Obviously, yes, yeah,
- 43:56Speaker 1: And obviously the answer is yes, but like what point is.
- 43:58Speaker 2: The same the same for all the TCGs, all the
- 44:02Speaker 2: video games, everything that you can find in stores when
- 44:05Speaker 2: the shops are like I've run out. It's either people
- 44:12Speaker 2: asking for it and you think that the risk of
- 44:15Speaker 2: producing more is fine or it's not. And for TCG,
- 44:21Speaker 2: I don't think there is a goal to producing more.
- 44:25Speaker 2: And the MQ so the minimum audio quantity usually are huge,
- 44:32Speaker 2: so you want to make sure that people are willing
- 44:34Speaker 2: to to have that needed for all lot of gods.
- 44:39Speaker 2: So yeah, and you like make me think that I
- 44:43Speaker 2: need to order my shadow plushes from make a beer,
- 44:47Speaker 2: So I'm going to I'm going to do that right now,
- 44:49Speaker 2: build a beer. Yes, Okay, let's go, let's continue that.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Yeah, right, Well, before we get down the Felix's questions,
- 44:56Speaker 4: we actually had a question from the audience. So from
- 45:00Speaker 4: CAM one point zero, has there been any thought into
- 45:05Speaker 4: a way to support Equinox directly through some sort of
- 45:08Speaker 4: supporter pack for example, pay x and work with an
- 45:12Speaker 4: artist to get yourself on a card or anything along
- 45:16Speaker 4: those lines.
- 45:23Speaker 2: No, not that, I I mean we could do that,
- 45:28Speaker 2: We could do stuff like that, but it's the game
- 45:32Speaker 2: is already very close. It's a digital game, but it's
- 45:37Speaker 2: stills a physical game, and it's a physical game first
- 45:40Speaker 2: and then it's a digital game. So hold on, I'm
- 45:46Speaker 2: just like, okay, so we want to do something that
- 45:55Speaker 2: is very simple because once again we all the small team.
- 45:58Speaker 2: So if you're doing I don't know, ten selven ducks
- 46:03Speaker 2: to to like have your own god, okay, but that's
- 46:09Speaker 2: that's not really helping the product. I mean, it's it's money,
- 46:12Speaker 2: and that's that's cool. Money is great, But at the
- 46:17Speaker 2: same time, what you want is people to know about
- 46:20Speaker 2: the brand, if you want people to get the product
- 46:22Speaker 2: as much as possible. So not really, yeah, I.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Would think the best way to support Equinox and the
- 46:32Speaker 4: team would be back the game found if you can
- 46:35Speaker 4: tell your store that you want altered and then continue
- 46:39Speaker 4: to like go to your organized play and invite your
- 46:43Speaker 4: friends and YadA, YadA.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I mean at the end of the day. And that's
- 46:49Speaker 2: that's maybe a bit like not pessimistic, but a pragmatic.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm stunning out regious right now. You
- 47:03Speaker 2: have like shops are not managing communities because they like it.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Of course if they do, it's even better. And for
- 47:15Speaker 2: what I understood, the community is also committee is good,
- 47:21Speaker 2: but at the same time, like you would not help
- 47:25Speaker 2: a community that is dead or like not very like working. Well,
- 47:32Speaker 2: so we need people to know about the game. So
- 47:35Speaker 2: the best thing that you can do. Your shop does
- 47:38Speaker 2: not want to support the game, It's fine, it's their business.
- 47:42Speaker 2: They have no way, and you have no like. I mean,
- 47:48Speaker 2: it's not because you love the game that they have
- 47:50Speaker 2: to sell it. And they have to find that there
- 47:52Speaker 2: is strategy like advantage for them to run the game.
- 47:58Speaker 2: So the best way is to show them that there
- 48:02Speaker 2: is an agence of this game and you love the
- 48:04Speaker 2: game and people are coming with you to play that game.
- 48:08Speaker 2: I'm not sure if I'm like being clear on that.
- 48:12Speaker 1: I think you are like and basically like you know,
- 48:15Speaker 1: it's shop owners, especially in the United States. I don't
- 48:18Speaker 1: know how it is in your area, but they're very fickle, right,
- 48:22Speaker 1: and they need to know where their bottom line is. Right.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Running a game store is not as luxurious, and you know,
- 48:31Speaker 1: they're not eating steak and lobster every night, right, it's
- 48:35Speaker 1: thin margins. It's you know, barely making it by sometimes,
- 48:40Speaker 1: and they have to go with a game that number one,
- 48:43Speaker 1: they know there's a community and to support for because
- 48:47Speaker 1: otherwise there's nothing worse than buying something and having it
- 48:50Speaker 1: sit on your shelf and just be wasted. Dollars, right, Yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 1: they need to know that this is going somewhere, right,
- 49:00Speaker 1: whether that be you coming in to support it, and
- 49:03Speaker 1: you know, even I've done this with a lot of games,
- 49:06Speaker 1: go in and be like, hey, are you able to
- 49:08Speaker 1: get this for me?
- 49:10Speaker 4: Right?
- 49:10Speaker 1: If I if I pay you, will you order it
- 49:13Speaker 1: for me? More times than not, if if a game
- 49:16Speaker 1: store can get it for you and you're willing to
- 49:18Speaker 1: like pay them some money up front, they'll get it
- 49:21Speaker 1: for you. Right. They're most most game stores, not all.
- 49:25Speaker 1: You're gonna have a handful out there that are just
- 49:27Speaker 1: kind of like jerks and they're like, I don't know,
- 49:29Speaker 1: got to go talk to somebody. But most game stores
- 49:32Speaker 1: will be like, yeah, yeah, if you if you pay
- 49:34Speaker 1: me for it upfront, yeah, I'll buy it for you
- 49:37Speaker 1: and then work with them, right, and then try to
- 49:41Speaker 1: start that community. That's that's the biggest part right now
- 49:45Speaker 1: is you've got such Juggernauts out there, right, You've got
- 49:49Speaker 1: I mean, shoot, you've got Spider Man in Magic right now.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I don't know how anyone in this community is beating that, right.
- 49:56Speaker 1: I am a huge Spider Man fanboy.
- 50:00Speaker 2: No, no, no, The best thing that Magic has ever done
- 50:03Speaker 2: is the crossover. We've Sunny the Hedgehog that that's the
- 50:06Speaker 2: best one.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Well, I mean, but whatever tickles your pickle, you know
- 50:09Speaker 1: what I mean, Like whatever you're into, right, you like Sonic,
- 50:13Speaker 1: I like Spider Man. But the fact of the matter
- 50:16Speaker 1: is that the short and skinny is that the game
- 50:18Speaker 1: store has to know that, like there's a there's a
- 50:21Speaker 1: light at the end of the tunnel, I think is
- 50:23Speaker 1: what you're trying to get to, and and you need
- 50:25Speaker 1: to know like this isn't a lost cause I'm not
- 50:28Speaker 1: you know, I'm not going to lose my store over this,
- 50:31Speaker 1: you know, I'm I am able to make a profit.
- 50:35Speaker 1: As Cool has said, he's very against uh you know,
- 50:39Speaker 1: the whole capitalist system of making money.
- 50:43Speaker 4: But you know, listen, but local game stores ran by
- 50:47Speaker 4: local people. That's what's up.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it just kind of is what it is.
- 50:51Speaker 1: So sometimes you just you gotta let you you have
- 50:55Speaker 1: to let the game store make money, right, you have
- 50:59Speaker 1: to because they are the ones who are number one,
- 51:02Speaker 1: giving you a space to play. Number two, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 1: getting you the product to play, So let them make
- 51:09Speaker 1: a little bit of coin off you. At the end
- 51:11Speaker 1: of the day, we're all here to have fun and
- 51:15Speaker 1: uh you know, let's local game store you eat every
- 51:18Speaker 1: now and again. You know, it's it's okay.
- 51:22Speaker 4: I'm not sure if I am here solely to have fun.
- 51:24Speaker 4: I'm also here to give Chili a really hard time
- 51:29Speaker 4: all the time.
- 51:30Speaker 1: No, I mean, hey, to each their own, right, like
- 51:32Speaker 1: you do, you like, there's nothing against that, but you know.
- 51:36Speaker 2: It's it's just about the friends that you piece along
- 51:38Speaker 2: the way. That's the thing.
- 51:42Speaker 1: And here's here's the deal. I'll be one hundred percent
- 51:44Speaker 1: honest with everyone here right now. Key Forge, right, I
- 51:51Speaker 1: played key Forge since it's originally started.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Yeah, played pretty early on too.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Yep. If it was not for the people that I
- 52:01Speaker 1: have met and the relationships I have forged, no pun intended,
- 52:08Speaker 1: you know, if it's not for all the people that
- 52:11Speaker 1: I have met along the way, spent time with, gone
- 52:15Speaker 1: drinking with. I mean, these are these are people that
- 52:18Speaker 1: I've literally spent I don't know how many hours with
- 52:23Speaker 1: hanging out with them, going to the bar, having multiple
- 52:27Speaker 1: drinks up till four o'clock in the morning, you know,
- 52:30Speaker 1: talking about non key you know, just life right, Like
- 52:34Speaker 1: it's it's one of those things where I don't know
- 52:37Speaker 1: if I'd still be in key Forge, but I.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Would not be if it were not for the people
- 52:42Speaker 3: I made friends with.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Made so many good friendships along the way, and it's
- 52:46Speaker 1: all revolves around this. I will. I am the first
- 52:49Speaker 1: one to tell you I don't play games to actually
- 52:54Speaker 1: play games. I play games for drinking, right, Like, that's
- 52:58Speaker 1: that's really why I go to Keyfarge events, because that's
- 53:03Speaker 1: really because I normally I'm not a heavy drinker. But
- 53:06Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, when Vault tours or key Forde
- 53:10Speaker 1: celebration come around, you see a different side of the Wookie,
- 53:14Speaker 1: and it only comes out like quarterly, So get your
- 53:18Speaker 1: cameras out for those of you with flash photography, you
- 53:20Speaker 1: won't be seeing us again for another four months.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Oh well, I mean, I'm sure that Calls has a
- 53:27Speaker 2: lot of story about me being drunk to tell people
- 53:30Speaker 2: which is not going to tell people.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Believe he's never told us never.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, because he knows that instantly he we were
- 53:40Speaker 2: received on all accounts that he owns pictures of the
- 53:45Speaker 2: Walden's feet. Yeah, again and again and again.
- 53:52Speaker 4: So if you, if Wookie and Deck start fine with it,
- 53:58Speaker 4: I'll kind of pick through feeling his questions because.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I've ad it. I saw a few of that kind
- 54:03Speaker 1: of I'm like, aret really important, but there's a couple
- 54:06Speaker 1: in there that I would I would say, I've.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Seen the least we can. We can we can do them.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Oh that's fine.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Okay, cool. Well before before we get to that, more
- 54:15Speaker 4: railroading and meming, because that's what we're known for. You
- 54:19Speaker 4: missed one very important thing, lookie, when you were describing
- 54:23Speaker 4: why you play TCGs. Oh, you mentioned friends, drinking, all
- 54:27Speaker 4: of that, but you forgot to mention saving each other
- 54:30Speaker 4: from from fangirls. Yes, yeah, no, you were. You were
- 54:33Speaker 4: on the right.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Track saving each other. I don't know if I've ever
- 54:37Speaker 1: been fangirled over. There was that one time a junk
- 54:40Speaker 1: him and there was about.
- 54:41Speaker 2: It that one time.
- 54:44Speaker 4: One time.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I don't know if it was necessarily a fangirl, because
- 54:50Speaker 1: I mean, she didn't know who I was. She just
- 54:52Speaker 1: liked my ghost, She liked my Sasquatch shirt with I
- 54:58Speaker 1: was wearing a shirt and I had a bunch of
- 55:00Speaker 1: as Squatch was wearing a flamingo floaty.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Yes, and she didn't have to be a fan of
- 55:05Speaker 4: your work, but she was definitely a fan of you.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yes, so you know, nobody's really a fan of my
- 55:11Speaker 1: work because my work sucks.
- 55:14Speaker 4: But you're pretty sure that Loki's fangirls are not really
- 55:19Speaker 4: fans of his work but more just a fan of Loki.
- 55:21Speaker 1: So you never know, you never know.
- 55:24Speaker 2: I mean, I mean at this point, I think it's
- 55:27Speaker 2: just a love age relationship. Uh we with the community.
- 55:34Speaker 2: I think that that that that that couple that I
- 55:37Speaker 2: like that we're all seeing every time a gen cone. Yeah. Yeah,
- 55:43Speaker 2: that's the very example of like people just like enjoy,
- 55:48Speaker 2: they enjoy, like really genuinely. I think, like discussing with me,
- 55:54Speaker 2: but I'm like, I'm just making silly jokes and maybe
- 56:01Speaker 2: maybe slightly because that's that's not my style, but slightly
- 56:04Speaker 2: offensive jokes. So I do not know. I do not
- 56:09Speaker 2: know if I'm I'm that popular.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of the really offensive jokes that way,
- 56:14Speaker 1: you really you know, but like you know that's me.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but you know that that that's also that's
- 56:21Speaker 2: my job. If I if i start saying, hey, when
- 56:25Speaker 2: are the worlds for next year, and I'm starting to
- 56:28Speaker 2: post everywhere just as just ask your mom, I'll be
- 56:34Speaker 2: I'll be in trouble. I'll be in trouble.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Maybe so maybe yeah, some of us will think it's
- 56:41Speaker 1: the greatest thing ever.
- 56:43Speaker 4: But yeah, I have witnessed both sides of people not
- 56:48Speaker 4: understanding Loki's personality, so I can attest to that. The couple. Yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 4: shout out to Lindsay and Kyle. Great people. But a
- 56:59Speaker 4: guy trying can go to hell or I think he
- 57:03Speaker 4: already lives there in Baltimore.
- 57:05Speaker 1: So questions Mark Jackson went down roll anyway, moving on.
- 57:13Speaker 4: What will the onboarding of new players look like post
- 57:17Speaker 4: Asthma day will it be different?
- 57:22Speaker 2: So on boarding you need products to unbut people, so
- 57:27Speaker 2: there will be new started decks or fully shops will
- 57:29Speaker 2: have them. Alrighty, no, you told me plus Asthma d
- 57:37Speaker 2: so pus guy.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, post guy. There will be more.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Five yeah, yeah, okay, there will be There'll be new
- 57:46Speaker 2: stut decks so that that will be one of the
- 57:50Speaker 2: first way to uh to unbut people. Then you have you,
- 57:57Speaker 2: like all he said, will be able to help people
- 58:01Speaker 2: join the game. There will be more bg A obviously
- 58:06Speaker 2: like we you may have seen and that that was
- 58:10Speaker 2: painful to watch or but we've done. Yesterday Alive on
- 58:16Speaker 2: the French YouTube with one of the good like TCG
- 58:23Speaker 2: influencer and because bg A just opened the demo decks,
- 58:28Speaker 2: nobody was there. All those people were just playing the
- 58:31Speaker 2: game and it was off the people of that were
- 58:35Speaker 2: usually there that were playing the game. So we know
- 58:38Speaker 2: that that is working well. So more BG or demodex
- 58:41Speaker 2: and BGA that would be our way to earn more people.
- 58:47Speaker 2: And yeah, I've seen a lot of people asking for
- 58:49Speaker 2: more audetising. Uh that cost a lot and one of
- 58:54Speaker 2: the one of the things that is very difficult. I'm
- 58:56Speaker 2: going to like sidetrack a bit here. We've all community
- 59:00Speaker 2: job is measuring the return on investment that you're doing.
- 59:05Speaker 2: And you were talking about the clubs, like like people
- 59:10Speaker 2: creating a club and playing playing outside. Okay, I'm sending
- 59:14Speaker 2: them three hundred dollars of product. Am I ever going
- 59:19Speaker 2: to receive back that money? Yeah they will be happy,
- 59:24Speaker 2: and yeah they will be playing, But will they be
- 59:27Speaker 2: spending more? Will they be onboarding people that are going
- 59:31Speaker 2: to be spending more, Because at the end of the day,
- 59:34Speaker 2: once again that's I'm not going to quote the joker,
- 59:39Speaker 2: but we live in a society in which we need
- 59:42Speaker 2: to make money. So you need to make sure that
- 59:47Speaker 2: everything that you are doing. They have a rettonal investment,
- 59:51Speaker 2: and that's the same thing for me being in convention,
- 59:55Speaker 2: is me going into convention going to create something that
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: will make people spend more money. Will they be happy
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: to have like spend time with me and say, hey,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: I'm getting to buy a display because that was very
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: cool and I'm very hyped and I want something so that.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: That's always something that you want to do. So on
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: boarding advertising, not sure all the rest like we've done positively, Yes, yeah.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: I think the convention thing is a very interesting question
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: to tackle, and of course it's something that I am
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: also passionate about because I've done every convention I possibly
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: can with altered and it's always great to talk to
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: the team, But the metrics of success that you can
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: actually quantify are really hard for conventions. Some part of it,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: so I guess at that, but we're all going to
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: start a petition to have at least LOKI at all
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: the major conventions next year.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: It's it's it's a question of money, and honestly, if
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: I could, I would just go to backsun Plugged, but
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: that will be meaning finding somebody that is willing to
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: pay almost three thousand dollars to meet there.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Got it yet?
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: It me and my unemployed self.
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, So that that's very complicated, But I
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: do think and that's that's why I I.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Was not always working on marketing. I have backed around
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: in network engineering, so that that's whatever I was doing
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: in the past for like ten years, and then I
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: went to marketing. I'm very like passion about the feeling
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: and building that relationship between a brand and it's committee.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: That's something that I love and I love like driving
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: and helping those people thrive in the passion that they have.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: And most of the time I would not work for
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: something that I do not like share this passion with
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: them like I probably love altered as much as you do.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: In ways I cannot explain because I will end up
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: in prison. But anyway, that's something that is very important,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: and I do think in my like thirty six years
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: of existence, most of the brands that have been the
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: most passionate about is because I have some points in
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: time in which I met people on the team. I
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: remember three, two and thirteen that Space three was about
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: to be released, and I've done a costume of the
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: main protagonists from that Space two and one of the
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: developers recognized me and I was wearing a costume for
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: under the brand, and he just went to me and
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: he insrudces me to the game director and say, hey,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: this guy is one of us. And just for that,
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I know that I will be loving that brand until
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: the end of my old days. And I got a
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: tattoo of that game, just because it reminds me something
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: that was very positive, something in which I felt good.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: And I do think this kind of moment is what
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: you want to build with your brand, and that's something
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: that is outside of opening a booster. And I think
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: it's very that the relationship between you and what is
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: basically god board and that is outside of everything. It's
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: meeting people, and it's meeting the game, and it's having
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: like genuine human connection with that game. And I do
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: think that even if it cannot be quantified me being
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: in convention talking to people, maybe for some people just
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: the third thing they need to not drop the game
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: or to invest themselves more in I'm going to give
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: you an example. I know that I'm talking a lot
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: much more than I was expecting to, but I got
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: a private message two weekends ago from a community member
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I've never told that to anybody except my wife. That
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: person was very upset because there was a BGA tournament
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: ongoing in Asia and they did not see the invite
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: for that the way to subscribe. So I was like, okay,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: it's Saturday morning. It's the end of the alterno for
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: you because you live in Australia. Okay, I'm going to
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: check what is happening. And I saw that it was
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: just the final phases of the the qualifiers for Asia,
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: and I told him that, and you went from being
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: to be honest kind of rude, and honestly, I almost
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: not answered that because I was like, okay, dude, it's
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: ten am and you're being totally shitty to me. And
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: one hour later we were discussing and joking about, Hey,
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: so no, you did not miss the A and BG.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: It's going to be next week and you have to
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: qualify because right now I'm not accepting your excuses. You
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: have to win. And then you go to friends and
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: you present those excuses you or your apologies, you tell
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: them yourself to me in October and that's that's the
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: moment that person lost and was not qualified to come.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Because I think it's tricks as we want, but anyway,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: just that kind of connection you are feeling, that that
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: close connection with the game, and that's at the end
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: of the day. I think it's what drives us from
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: the human like perspective more than competing or anything. And
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: that's why most of the competitors are now now in
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: teams because they share this. So that kind of sharing.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I love that and I think that's one of the
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: things that is the most important thing. And yes, I
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: would love to go to unplug even if it's just
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: to sit on a free game table and just play
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: with people. But yeah, budget and shit, so probably not going.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: That was long.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: It was very very well said, and I mostly so
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: that kind of answer is the question, to the best
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: of the ability for what happens next year. Yeah, Hacks
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Unplugged did put out like a little information for this year,
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: and it does mention altered and I've already seen like
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: two or three people not read it fully. From my understanding,
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: there will be no more conventions that altered will be
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: at at least in the United States for the rest
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: of this year. Is that correct?
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: I have no idea, to be honest, I have no
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: idea because I don't even know where I'll be going
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: up until the end of the year. Sometimes I'm going
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: to Essence sometimes as I'm not same for Luca Comics,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I have no idea. It's a bit of a weird
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: situation because ASTHMI is working on set four, so obviously
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: they are promoting the game, but at the same time
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: they are not going to be distributing the upcoming set,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: and fifteen of October, the day in which we're gain
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: to show more about this is during the life time
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Upset four, so it's it's a lot of different things
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: at the same time. And I honestly I do not
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: know if you your sales guys have any contacts in asthmody,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: please ask them to just like do an auto booth
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: and just with me. I'll be very happy with that.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Just to meet all of knife on the oles that
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: will be that'll be great.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I can honestly try and ask because I can
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: say from my side, the hiring notices just went out
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: and Altered is not listed as a game that will
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: be demoed or judged, So I definitely worth asking though.
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: But we'll see and well, we'll keep everyone updated, but
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: to not keep you too long this This question, I
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: know is very hard. Has the focus in the US
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: markets changed and what is Equinox's approach to expanding in
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: the US?
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: They focus has not changed. So I'm going to how
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: how people are going to react in the States to
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: the game. Found will be shops or players will be
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: a good indicators like is the game going to sell well?
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: That will be a good like indicative for us to say, hey, yeah,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: the game was like not dying, but in some local
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: places not going well on just not presents, but there
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: is a willing willingness to people to get the game
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: like going. So that will be the first indicator that
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: we can get and that will be very important. We
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: do know that you guys have a huge country. I'm
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: keeping that example that just a soldiers during gen Con,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: but the size of the US is such that the
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: distance between the East coast and the West coast is
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: basically Perish to Moscow, and US going to Moscow is
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: something that is very far. So knowing that we do
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: know that online game is going to be helping, We
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: do know that delving the game directly to you will
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: be helping, So we do hope that those things are
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: going to be helping and powering the shop directly through
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: US will be helping. So that's Equinox's approach to like
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: expanding in the US ere right.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Now and not I'm just going to say it, not
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: with Asthma Day is going to help. No offense, I mean, yeah,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: you can't that, but I will tell you in the States, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: The biggest thing like as soon as you're like, yeah,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: can you get this game for me? And almost always
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: it's yeah, not a problem, Yeah, who do I go through?
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: And you're like, well, Asthma Day, And then there's always
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: the h you always get that heard kind of corone
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: and it's kind of like, uh yeah, and there there
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: are plenty of shop owners. I will tell you that
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: as soon as you say the word Asthma Day, the
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: answer is no, I can't get it. I don't work
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: with them. So, to be honest with you, I was
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: very excited for this because I was like, oh, some
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: of those shops that told me no, I might not
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: say no now, but you know, it's just one of
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: those things of how how it works here.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Well, when I first pitched and Cole cannot say that
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: he knows what he does. When I pitched a few
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: things about the game. The game found in everything to
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: some people from the new Masubi that are going to
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: be announced soon. The reaction for people in the US
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: where two things, mostly Wow, no Mara smody so cool,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: and then it was WHOA will be back plush and
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: you're like, okay, okay, great, thank you guys for your input.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: That is very valuable. H but yeah, we we we
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: do know that it was it was a pain point
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: and with such a huge country and well it's typicult,
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: so so that that's good that people be able to
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: get the product directly from US. I do think that
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: is going to be helping duet to things.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I think that's a huge advantage is now I can
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: be like, go to this portal right wherever that ends
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: up being, I don't know, but regardless, it doesn't really matter.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: As long as it's not an Asthmadi website. They're like,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: you know, They're like, oh, yeah, sure, you know, and
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: then we can go from there. Obviously, we'll see, we'll
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: see how how said game star feels about it. At
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: that point, I'm sure it won't be an issue. But
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: now that the uh the A word is no longer involved,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: we might be able to make some progress in a
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: few areas.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: We'll see. Ye. Next question, let's end in the twelve
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: next minute, so I can. I'm like seven hours of
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: sleep before going to via VR shooting game.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Yea, one more good one, one more good one. Let's
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: see what we.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: Can one one bad, one one bad.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: As as we can. I'll just uh talk less that
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: I was okay, let's.
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: Yeah, important question. How many people on staff have a
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: foot fetish?
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Oh jeez, is that in there? I missed that one completely.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: No, that's not a cool No, I know he was
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: goal where I was joking about someone else on the discold.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: So I don't think anybody in the team just one.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: You know who you are?
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: No, I mean I there are two things that I hate.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: I hate feet and I hate karaoke. That's karaoke I hate.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: I just hate karake. We've passioned. That's two things. Yeah. Yeah, anyway,
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: next question, Uh, so.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: Any new mythologies the Altered team is looking to explore
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: would be awesome. And to see more Latin American gods,
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: even if it's more of a touch from Puerto Rico.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: This next that has some Maori gods and influences. And
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: then of course Beowulf is what English?
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I don't know, not Viking.
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: I do not have four books on a bookshelf in
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: my house and I've never read it perfect.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Do you even know that? That was very important information
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: that we just gave us. Thank you, Thank you for
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: that I.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: Have four books. I just wanted to.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Let you know. Yeah, but can you can you read?
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: Actually nope, I don't know how to read. Yeah, a
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: hell in a while ago.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Stop drinking that that will be better for you anyway.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: So I do not know everything because there are two things.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: One thing is even though I can see the oughts
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: for two set six, I'm just a Frenchman. I do
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: not have a lot of culture, so I may not
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: recognize mythology from people and that I do not know about.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: I do know that we are going to revisit some
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: that we have seen before, so Anubis is going to
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: have friends in upcoming sets. For the rest, I do
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: not know specifically about Latin American gods. Sorry. Yeah.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: Yoshi actually has a very very good answer to like
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: the whole you know, representation and mythologies in Altered on
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: the Hero's Guide to as Gartha podcast, He did, we
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: we have to get our one shell out per episode
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: so that they pay me.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean they are a much better podcasts
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: than this one, Saul.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: Yep, yep. So next question, any future collaboration ideas brewing
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: and what will you torture call with for the next year?
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Yes, next question, how much has.
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: The team grown from last year, which is for me
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: a sad question, but I'll let you answer.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Ah, yeah, the team has grown negatively.
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: No.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: I mean that's when you start the project like the
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: one you have right now, with so many things that
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: you need to do and deliver, you do not always
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: know the man power that you're going to need. And
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: there are sometimes in which shares a lot of rush,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: and there is a lot of things to do, and
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: there are a lot of priorities. So at some point
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: you can see that you can merge some jobs or
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: simply stuff evolved. For example, the team was very different
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: when we were just finishing the game and shipping the
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: KICKSTARTO that it is right now in which we have
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: a cycle that is already said and then we just
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: have to iterirate on that cycle, I mean for production
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: for everything. Uh So some jobs were open, some jobs
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: were closed, but I think we are Yeah, we have.
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: We have. It's really really weird actually because we have
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: so many new jobs. For example, when we did the kickstarto,
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: we did not have any supports team, and now we do.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: We did not have somebody that was focused on the production.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: We had somebody that was only dedicated to transliding the
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: God and now it's the doing that. So the team
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: devel a lot and we are actually, yeah, we are
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: a bit fewer uh than than we used to to
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: be right after the costato.
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: Yeah, can can you call one person a team? Just
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: a question?
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: One a team? Yeah?
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: You said you have a support team.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Oh, well, I'm the community team.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: They all help them support.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's that's true. And when you look at
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: some tcg's team, we are almost more stuffed than they are. Yeah.
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: I I just had to throw some spice in there
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: so that people don't think I'm just a paid hill
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: And you know, I'll let Simon be the Equinomics boot liquor.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: So yeah, that that is technically the end of our questions.
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: But anything you want to be as about or let
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: people know or tell.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: Us, you have five minutes if you have any questions.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: That's that's a very moment I do not have it
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: like anything to say what I'm what I can say
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: because I've told you guys several times, sober and drunk,
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: there is something very different about the the US community
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: in respect to the to the community in Europe. Not
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: all the people obviously, but like for example, people that
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: I know I've heard him from. But from a community standpoint,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: my experiences in convention in the US has been much
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: cooler than keep trying a guy trying but not you.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: But people have been like cooler and modchill and more
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: focused on having fun with the game. Uh. And for example,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: every time that I've met people willing to get that luck,
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: you know, explain that people are so much up here
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: in the US when they get it. Even though for
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: the bus battle there is less Q in the US
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: than there is in Europe. In Europe, queues for the
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: bus battle are like hours long. In the US. Usually
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: if you just come to see me, you'll be able
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: to play if I'm here, if I'm not in the
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: convention buying shit. So it's yeah, I feel like it's
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: it's always a good experience, and I know that I
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: would love to do all the convention in the US.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: I know that One of the questions from from Felix
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: that we have not answered was the US being to
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: the convention, especially the le duc Q's in the future.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: I wish, I wish because I do love being there
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: and justin us taught me so much about just the US. Yeah,
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: I feel more that like family life when I when
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: I'm there, So thank you for that that I can
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: tell you. And yes, we recruited somebody from the support team,
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: so nice.
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: Uh yeah, choice, Yeah, you don't have to deal with easy.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: When you go to the extension and you're going to
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: buy stuff, where are you first? Where are you first going?
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: What is what is your I'm buying that? Pick a choice?
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: Is it? Do you have a game plan or do
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: you mill about first?
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: When I go to convention specifically, or when I go
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: to a specific city.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Like when you're going to gen Con, you're like, I'm
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: going to buy stuff? Is it I'm poking around and
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: that looks cool, so I'll pick that up? Or are
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: you like, I'm I'm going to this specific boove to
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: pick this up right now?
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: So when I go to gen Con, my battle plan
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: is always not to go to convention first and go
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: to a topic first. That's where I'll be going, because
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: that will be according to the choice of T shirts
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: and goodies that they have. Will be deciding the budgets
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: that I have for the rest of the convention. And
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: then once that is done, it's usually like goodies that
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: I could not find. So like, for example, I bought
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: a lot of stuff for myself in Swokee from a
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: uver boss. I've bought a lot of game genic accessories,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: and obviously I'm buying a lot of stuff from Amazon
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: that I get delivered at the hotel, which also decide
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: the rest of my budget for for the rest of
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: the convention. So I do. I do have some specific
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: books booths that I love to go to. God for example,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: is a Pins booth that that I love. Uh But yeah,
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: every every convention is different, but I do have a
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: battle plan for each of them. Nice.
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: It's important to note that there's no hot topic in France.
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: Because I told someone that your first stop is hot
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: topic and you live in the US, they would severely
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: judge you.
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the same way if you someone in Japan
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: that you are that you always love to go to uniqueloth,
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: they will be making fun of you because that's something
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: that is very like cheap for them.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: Unique Cloth is no like my new favorite shop because
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: their T shirts are a little taller than usual and
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: super great quality. I'm literally wearing a Unique Low Demon
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: shirt right now.
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: Well, I'm just nude with my event. Can play matt
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: on myself just in case.
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: Show me those pictures later.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Anyways, Maybe not that quick one, but I'll give you
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: a box you could drop some stuff off to, you know.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: Final final question because Wookie's question made me think of it.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: What was the best dish you had while visiting the
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: US for altered specifically, so like the last.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Year best dish? Screw that? What's the best alcohol you
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: had in the States?
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: Why not both?
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: You said the best dish.
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: That's like the best thing you a My god, Oh
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: for me, I'm still chasing the high of that ramen
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: from Meta in Boston.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that was one of the good thing.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: But it is very difficult because it's some moments that
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: I've shared with people, specifically the one we went to
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: with you Moon and Simon where yeah, you let me
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: drink that picture on my own, but that that was
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: one of the the phone memory that I have and
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: things like that first time that we went to uh
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: to the MATCHA one when I got to spend more
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: time with Blue Waters A good memory. But I do
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: think that one of the personal memory, like not related
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: to Altered, was the time I spent in Phoenix. When
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: I arrived, I just put everything in the in the
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: hotel and then I and I was on my own.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: It was one of the first time that I was
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: traveling for equinogues on my own in the city that
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: I didn't know, and I was like, okay, I'm going
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: to just create that map of things that I want
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: to do. And I went to Target to buy Sonic stuff,
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: and then I took a break and I went to
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: In and Out and I just fucking love In and Out.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: And it was the last time I went to In
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: and Out was in twenty twelve, so it had been
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: like thirteen years. Culvers, I mean to each star own
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: like you said, but yeah, I was that very moment
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: in which I was like, Okay, I love this game.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: I love that community. I am the only French guest
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: to that event in in this game and stuff, and
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I still give my stuff gamers Guild. I'm still wearing
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: the game a gig games, yeld T shirt most of
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: the time and still playing with the first part token.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: I just love that shop. I love Aaron. I just
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: love the time that I spent there. And yeah, that
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: very afternoon on my own, just going to shops in
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: a culture that I love and eating some food that
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: I was craving for thirteen years. That was a very
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: like personal feeling. And being a different time zone, it's
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: like you just left all of the you just leave
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: all of the bad things, all the things on another
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: time zone and you just like focus on the time
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: right now. And that that was. That was a good moment.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: That was.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: That was a good moment for me. I enjoyed that,
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: even though yeah, I did not meet all the usual
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: people that I'm usually meeting, uh, but that that was.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: That was a great personal moment that I spent with myself.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: So I'm going to say that in an out burger,
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: even though some of the meat I have eaten in
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: the US, I'm sorry, gold, but that's what I'm going
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: to was was some of the best thing that I had.
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: As for alcohol, Wookie doesn't know that you're basically a
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: sake somalier. Is there anything outside of sake that you've
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: had here that you really liked.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: Honestly, yeah, you ever had alort?
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: Oh god, please never have.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: I have two things to say, uh while, Okay, I'm
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: going to say the first one because I think it's
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: it's more an emotional one. But the uh, the picture
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: that we got on that time with with Moon and
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Simon was was good. It was actually good. And then
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: I'm just going to drop that because it's exactly the truth.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: But I would say go that the blow jobs that
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: were given to us were very good. Yeah yeah, oh oh.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, oh yeah, oh yeah I did not have one,
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: but yes, I got what you're saying.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: Oh you did, Yeah, you did not blow jobs? So yeah,
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: that that was Yeah, if they me at some point
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: you you just listen to this, please give us more
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: blow jobs. That that was. That was amazing. That was
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: a good night. That was a good night. Uh yeah.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: Which which other cocktail? I think the margarita was was
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: pretty good in that bar, which was a total failure
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: from my initial plan. But yeah, okay, I do love
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: the chat reaction to that.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: It's a drink. It's a drink.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's a good cocktail.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: We name things weird to hear like just we also
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: have something like nipple. Don't read too much into it.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: Well, it was just it was just some dudes and
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: some friends at a table and you know, they had
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: some blow jobs and got a bunch of white stuff.
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: All their faces.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: Are weird stuff.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's uh.
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: I will not hold you any longer, but I really
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: appreciate you coming to talk with us and working it out,
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: especially because I I know how busy you are and
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: it is seven hours ahead for anyone in the US.
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: That's okay. This is another question, I I I anyone
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: in the US who's coming to the world. Is there
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: any any like pro tips you have for them? Anything
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: you would love to see? Do you what do you
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: want from people going to worlds?
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: In Paris? It's very difficult to recommend things in a
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: city that you spend most of your time with.
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: Now what do you what do you want from them?
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: What do you want them? Do you want them to
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: you know, cosplaye give you high fives, bring you sonic blushes.
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: I will accept all kinds of briberries that that's fine.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: You can bribe me all you want. Yeah, I do
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: want to meet people. And one of the things that
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: I'm not going to say dislike, but I think a
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: bit like a bit of shame, uh is that some
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: people I do remember your nicknames on the discord, like
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: if we interacted one of one or two times. Usually
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: I do remember people. So most of the time people
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: when they come and chat with me and they do
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: not tell me who they are, Uh, to be sad.
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: Just come and say hello, tell me who you are,
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: tell me something that you remember from the discord, and
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: let's chat. I mean, that's uh, first and foremost, that's
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: what I'm paid for. But also that's what I like.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: So just just don't be shy. Just come in and chill.
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: Yes, definitely say your discord name, because I will not
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: know who the hell you are otherwise. And I've had
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: people like message me on BJ like oh we met
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: in Dallas, and I'm like, yay, great to see you.
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: Yeah all the time, all the time.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: All right, are we good now, calen we closer shut
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: her down?
