- 0:00Speaker 1: More Mark.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Mr.
- 0:02Speaker 2: New York. Now three hours every weekday from 9 till
- 0:07Speaker 2: noon on 710WOR. Well, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is
- 0:16Speaker 2: the number. Let's go to Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy,
- 0:20Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Hello, Mark.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hello.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I know I have a cold, so I have a
- 0:27Speaker 1: really nice voice.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You always have a nice voice. Weren't you a radio
- 0:31Speaker 2: star at one point?
- 0:33Speaker 1: I was, but I've always found so much better when
- 0:36Speaker 1: I have a little huskiness in there like Kathleen Turner.
- 0:39Speaker 1: But anyway, wow, thanks for those statistics on the school rapes.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I know this opinion won't matter much to a bachelor
- 0:47Speaker 1: with no kids, but us moms out there are just
- 0:51Speaker 1: done with this. What is the point of sending our
- 0:54Speaker 1: kids off to college and spending $ 60, 000, $ 70, 000 a year
- 0:59Speaker 1: I mean, is it too much to ask for them
- 1:01Speaker 1: to keep them safe? I really question this. I sent
- 1:04Speaker 1: both mine off. They both got high degrees, doctorates. And
- 1:09Speaker 1: I just, I don't even know why, because they, they
- 1:13Speaker 1: allow them to have sex. They allow them to drink.
- 1:15Speaker 1: They allow them to do drugs. The fraternities need to
- 1:18Speaker 1: go away. They just need to go away. The old
- 1:21Speaker 1: days of, you know, the letter sweater, the fraternities that
- 1:24Speaker 1: were just all a bunch of fun guys are just gone.
- 1:26Speaker 1: They're just gangs. And I, I just think that would
- 1:30Speaker 1: be one of the first things that they should do.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's just like organized crime on campuses. And I just
- 1:38Speaker 1: think we have to have a whole new reshuffle.
- 1:41Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. That's the problem with these colleges. They've
- 1:46Speaker 2: only got these indoctrinating professors teaching everybody to come out
- 1:49Speaker 2: as socialists.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yes, that's another problem.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Cut back on the professors and start hiring security, start hiring...
- 1:56Speaker 2: Didn't they have people.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no co-ed. No co-ed.
- 2:00Speaker 2: No real.
- 2:01Speaker 1: They always have sober houses. They're never sober. The RAs
- 2:05Speaker 1: are just useless. And I just... I feel so bad
- 2:09Speaker 1: for us that we wasted all.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I guess we don't waste some of it, but it's
- 2:13Speaker 1: just that we endanger our children. I really believe that,
- 2:16Speaker 1: especially ones that have never been away.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You're right. That's a good point. Those universities are getting
- 2:20Speaker 2: away with murder. Somebody needs to step in and fix
- 2:25Speaker 2: all of them. All right. Good call, Kathy. Thanks for calling.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Let's go to Suzanne in New Canaan, Connecticut. Suzanne, how
- 2:33Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark.
- 2:36Speaker 4: I have just a quick one about, I wonder if
- 2:38Speaker 4: this whole college rape culture status due to the students
- 2:42Speaker 4: being a fallout of the COVID lockdowns, they're socially inept.
- 2:46Speaker 4: But also the cultural influence of, you know, Cardi B
- 2:51Speaker 4: glorifying trains and Alex Earle's podcast on threesomes and foursomes
- 2:55Speaker 4: and all this stuff like nobody, you know, needs to
- 2:58Speaker 4: know about.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was going on long before the pandemic.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It's just generation after generation getting weirder, crazier, standards slip, discipline,
- 3:08Speaker 2: everything goes away.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I have a little irony for you.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I'm a Cornellian. I just got an email from the
- 3:15Speaker 4: Cornell Fund has an article about Cornell offering a degree
- 3:18Speaker 4: to incarcerated students.
- 3:20Speaker 2: What did you call yourself? You're a Cornellian? Is that
- 3:24Speaker 2: what you people call yourself?
- 3:25Speaker 3: I'm a Cornellian.
- 3:25Speaker 4: I went to Cornell. Cornell.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Well, it's one strange school. Who went to Cornell? Bill
- 3:33Speaker 2: Maher went there.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Ann Coulter.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Ann Coulter from New Canaan went there. Crazy Keith Oberman
- 3:39Speaker 2: went there, although he went to the agricultural school, not
- 3:42Speaker 2: the real Cornell.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Oh, there you go.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Janet Reno.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Very good.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Let's see, who else?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Very impressive.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Nabokov.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:52Speaker 4: E.B.
- 3:53Speaker 3: White. Very good.
- 3:54Speaker 4: We could go on and on.
- 3:55Speaker 2: All right. Impressive, impressive. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 4:00Speaker 2: Phil in Northport.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Hello, Mark.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Very little mention was made of a recent passing of
- 4:09Speaker 4: Denny Hastert.
- 4:11Speaker 2: You know, I just saw that about 930. It broke
- 4:15Speaker 2: that he has died, the former Speaker of the House.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And I forgot to mention it. He was a nice guy,
- 4:22Speaker 2: but you know what? It's not that important.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Nope.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Did we lose him? Phil, you there? Phil? Nope. I
- 4:31Speaker 2: think we lost him. Phil?
- 4:34Speaker 3: Nope.
- 4:34Speaker 2: He's gone. Yeah. In fact, if we walk out in
- 4:37Speaker 2: the hall here, if you go out in the street
- 4:39Speaker 2: there and stop a thousand people with a picture of
- 4:42Speaker 2: Denny Astor, it's like, can you tell me who this is? No,
- 4:44Speaker 2: but it's a nice guy, but too far in the past.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 4:51Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. My girlfriend graduated from
- 4:55Speaker 3: Cornell 40 years ago, and as far as all this
- 4:59Speaker 3: wilding going on in the frat houses 50 years ago,
- 5:04Speaker 3: when it started in the late 60s and 70s, I
- 5:08Speaker 3: beg to differ with Kathy from North Carolina. There have
- 5:11Speaker 3: been always a lot of sluts. Let's just put it
- 5:15Speaker 3: that way, and I won't go into particulars because I
- 5:18Speaker 3: knew women back then....
- 5:21Speaker 2: But wait a minute, you're talking about way back. You're
- 5:24Speaker 2: talking about your cocktail waitress Copacabana floozies. You were talking
- 5:29Speaker 2: about modern times.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Well, modern times. Where are these young men and women
- 5:36Speaker 3: getting their ethics and their morality from? Maybe their parents
- 5:40Speaker 3: are corrupt. Maybe their parents were part of that 60s, 70s,
- 5:44Speaker 3: or grandparents, 70s generation. Mark, speaking about people going through
- 5:49Speaker 3: your luggage in the airport... I can't tell you. Every
- 5:53Speaker 3: time I go to Italy, the police are always looking
- 5:56Speaker 3: through my luggage for stuff. And the only reason why
- 5:59Speaker 3: I know is because I use certain knots to tie
- 6:03Speaker 3: my luggage that unless you're a fisherman like Rich would
- 6:07Speaker 3: know from South Carolina, you're not going to know how
- 6:10Speaker 3: to retire. Now, you talked about today the city council
- 6:17Speaker 3: is having all the big AI people, they're going to
- 6:20Speaker 3: have this meeting. But yet I heard Daria Auburn say
- 6:24Speaker 3: the city council already has a bunch of proposed legislation,
- 6:29Speaker 3: proposed bills on the desk of Julie Manning saying, number one,
- 6:34Speaker 3: as I said last week, you have to use city-approved
- 6:39Speaker 3: AI software to sweeten the deal for the rats. Any
- 6:45Speaker 3: company who's not using this city-approved software will be fined,
- 6:50Speaker 3: and the city's going to share the money with the rats.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Once again, you put your finger right on it. This
- 6:55Speaker 2: is what the AI hearings are about in the city council.
- 6:58Speaker 3: You know what happens to rats, don't you, Mark?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 2: They're going to make the AI companies pay all the politicians. Yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 2: and you know what happens to rats.
- 7:08Speaker 4: What?
- 7:10Speaker 3: As Curtis says, snitches get.
- 7:12Speaker 2: When we come back, we'll talk to the greatest gossip
- 7:15Speaker 2: columnist of all, Rob Shooter, with us next on 710WOR.
