- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is some spoiled
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six twenty five and then skipping
- 0:16Speaker 1: all the fillers to six twenty nine through six point thirty.
- 0:20Speaker 1: But also I was instructed to rewatch the last five
- 0:24Speaker 1: minutes of six twenty eight, so we've got a lot
- 0:26Speaker 1: of ground to cover today, but I think it's going
- 0:30Speaker 1: to be a hell of an episode. Welcome to spoil me.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I am Natasha and I'm Flouran. Hello, Hello, g Laurian.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Delighted to see you here today.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Thank you for joining me, and it's always a delight
- 1:06Speaker 2: to be here. Thank you for having me.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So why did you choose these episodes? I already know,
- 1:14Speaker 1: but I have to ask you. Why did you choose
- 1:17Speaker 1: these episodes to do a live with me?
- 1:21Speaker 2: And there's a lot like the first one is pretty cool,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and the second one is interesting, and the last one
- 1:29Speaker 2: is alone.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was really like joh okay. So I'm
- 1:40Speaker 1: gonna tell you what happened because I remembered that you
- 1:44Speaker 1: warned me to watch the end of six twenty eight,
- 1:49Speaker 1: but a girl forgot about six twenty five. So I
- 1:55Speaker 1: started watching the end of six twenty eight, and then
- 1:58Speaker 1: I was like, I feel there's stuff I don't remember,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and I went and looked back at the spreadsheet and
- 2:03Speaker 1: I was like, oh shit. And because what I thought
- 2:08Speaker 1: when you said watched the end of six twenty eight
- 2:10Speaker 1: was basically like the whole next section is filler, so
- 2:14Speaker 1: we're jumping over that, but you just want to watch
- 2:17Speaker 1: the tail end of the filler. And I didn't get
- 2:19Speaker 1: that part of what was included in this was right
- 2:21Speaker 1: before the filler began. So it was very jarring to
- 2:25Speaker 1: go from like the vibe on the sunny, which is
- 2:28Speaker 1: so chill at that point, to Akge and do Flamingo
- 2:34Speaker 1: and smoker again, because it was just like, oh right,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we hadn't even like finished dealing with this yet, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: like long story short, not even a whole lot happens
- 2:43Speaker 1: in that. It's basically OKG being like stop and dop
- 2:47Speaker 1: fl Mingo being like fine, but I'm still the cool guy,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and AKG telling all the men you never saw me here,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and if you tell anybody, eugh, you know what, I
- 3:00Speaker 1: I don't care never mind, which got me laughing pretty
- 3:04Speaker 1: hard the way he just instantly there's no threat, there's
- 3:07Speaker 1: no follow up. He's just like, do what you want,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and the guy is all being like, no, we won't
- 3:12Speaker 1: say anything. It's fine. Yeah, but yeah, So it's a
- 3:18Speaker 1: it's a weird one. I like, what am I missing
- 3:23Speaker 1: from that one? Because I think you can understand that
- 3:25Speaker 1: I am very concerned with some of the following episodes
- 3:28Speaker 1: that I want to make sure we have time for.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But uh, I'm going to go through it really quick
- 3:32Speaker 1: and make sure that there's you know, oh right, So
- 3:36Speaker 1: this is this is the part where we find out
- 3:39Speaker 1: the whole thing with the factory, and this is the
- 3:44Speaker 1: part where I was like in six twenty eight, I
- 3:48Speaker 1: was like, I don't remember us talking about this. So basically,
- 3:55Speaker 1: smile okay, I want to make sure I'm getting this right.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Sad is the compound that makes smile.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Right, Yes, it is like an ence that you need
- 4:15Speaker 2: to do.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Okay, And then smile makes the devil.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Fruits exactly like a Fielder like just called then the smiles,
- 4:31Speaker 2: like the uperficial devil fruits are called smiles.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Oh okay, because he called he called the the big
- 4:42Speaker 1: goop monster smiley. Mm hm. So I thought there was
- 4:47Speaker 1: a middle thing that you had to do and make
- 4:49Speaker 1: a goop monster that would like eat fruits and then
- 4:52Speaker 1: they would turn into a devil fruit. Do you know
- 4:55Speaker 1: what I'm saying? That's what I thought.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well, we don't know there, We don't know the exact
- 5:01Speaker 2: process of it, but the end is called the end
- 5:05Speaker 2: product is called a smile root or like a smile.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Okay, gotcha all right, because I yeah, I was feeling
- 5:13Speaker 1: like there was a step in there that I was missing.
- 5:16Speaker 1: But that's what That's what it was. It was that
- 5:18Speaker 1: I was getting confused with the fruits and the goop monster,
- 5:24Speaker 1: the axilotel monster. Apologies that you guys can hear a
- 5:30Speaker 1: weird like sound. It is super windy here today and
- 5:35Speaker 1: I've got wind whistling like I'm on the Scottish moors
- 5:38Speaker 1: in a castle. It is really intense out there, so
- 5:42Speaker 1: it is very loud to me. But I don't know
- 5:45Speaker 1: if the mic is picking it up.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Mm hmm. I don't think so, Okay, don't have heard anything. Yeah,
- 5:53Speaker 2: but what what do you like think about this? Because
- 5:58Speaker 2: this is like now the first time that we hear
- 6:00Speaker 2: your devil fruits being made, but we actually don't know
- 6:04Speaker 2: where like the regular dever fruits come from or what
- 6:08Speaker 2: I like, you guess all the.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, this, yeah, this, this was my like because I
- 6:15Speaker 1: have had so many questions about what causes regular devil
- 6:18Speaker 1: fruits that the fact we've got a fucking artificial one
- 6:22Speaker 1: now is like I feel like the steps on how
- 6:29Speaker 1: you usually find out information as a viewer are backwards,
- 6:34Speaker 1: because normally the storytelling is like first, I Mike, just
- 6:39Speaker 1: like left did you see that? It just was like,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I don't feel like listening to this rude, oh my god,
- 6:49Speaker 1: But it was Normally you find out like the natural
- 6:53Speaker 1: process by which a thing comes to be, and that
- 6:57Speaker 1: is the inspiration for figuring out how to make a
- 7:00Speaker 1: synthetic artificial version of the thing. So for us to
- 7:05Speaker 1: find out that there's a synthetic version before we find
- 7:09Speaker 1: out anything really about the originals, I am. I have
- 7:15Speaker 1: a lot of questions about the way that oda structure stories,
- 7:19Speaker 1: and most of the questions surround do you do this
- 7:22Speaker 1: on purpose to subvert tropes? Or do you just not
- 7:28Speaker 1: really have a good answer for where the real devil
- 7:31Speaker 1: fruits come from yet? And you don't feel like worrying
- 7:34Speaker 1: about it, and you're just gonna busy yourself with something else,
- 7:38Speaker 1: because that's more interesting to you, which I'm not like.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I'm not mad at the fact that we don't know yet.
- 7:44Speaker 1: It's not like I feel like this is done badly.
- 7:47Speaker 1: It just surprises me, and I wouldn't be mad if
- 7:50Speaker 1: it were for him just being like the natural ones.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I don't know, I'll figure something out in the world building.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I really want to focus on something with a crazy
- 8:01Speaker 1: mad scientists first, which you know.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Fair, Absolutely, I don't know, like I guess that he Yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 2: but even if he like like, it doesn't even depend
- 8:17Speaker 2: like if he knows where it's going, then it is
- 8:22Speaker 2: a conscious decision. But is it like that he wants
- 8:26Speaker 2: us to not know, That's what that's my question. Yeah, Fair,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Feels like there's no reason not to tell us first
- 8:38Speaker 1: except that he doesn't know. And like I said, if
- 8:44Speaker 1: he doesn't know, it's fine, I'm not like, it's fine,
- 8:49Speaker 1: but I would just like to know just for the
- 8:53Speaker 1: It's sort of Miles and I talked about this when
- 8:56Speaker 1: we were discussing both Miss Born and Suki stag House,
- 9:00Speaker 1: how there are two types of writers. There are the
- 9:05Speaker 1: architects and the gardeners, and the architects have everything pre
- 9:10Speaker 1: planned and in place, and they have it structured very specifically,
- 9:16Speaker 1: and the gardeners just sort of plant stuff and they
- 9:18Speaker 1: let it they see where it goes. And I'm thinking
- 9:24Speaker 1: Oda is way more of a gardener. But it's also
- 9:29Speaker 1: sort of there are so many things in this series
- 9:33Speaker 1: that don't pay off for so long, and it's clearly
- 9:41Speaker 1: like he had the idea a long time before he
- 9:46Speaker 1: follows through with it. But is it that he had
- 9:51Speaker 1: the fully formed idea and just wanted to, you know,
- 9:55Speaker 1: have these other adventures first, or did he just plant
- 9:58Speaker 1: a seed and then was like, I'm going to make
- 10:01Speaker 1: that something eventually, but I'm not worrying about it right now,
- 10:06Speaker 1: do you know what I mean?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yes, I would actually say probably like a mix. I
- 10:12Speaker 2: would give him that, you know, like maybe as you
- 10:16Speaker 2: as you said, like Sanderson seems like somebody has like
- 10:20Speaker 2: planned everything out.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 2: God, the SUPI who wrote that books.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Those books, Charlene Harris.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Karlen Harris, that that she maybe is more like the
- 10:33Speaker 2: gardener type, you know, and maybe there's like I don't know,
- 10:39Speaker 2: a sweet middle where Oda lives. I can I could
- 10:42Speaker 2: see that because I know, actually, like we do see
- 10:46Speaker 2: these episodes the some of the pirates that they met
- 10:50Speaker 2: in Sabodi, like we see kid Hawkins and a pool
- 10:57Speaker 2: and actually those were like all in ment by Oda
- 11:01Speaker 2: in well just a week, like because his editor was like,
- 11:05Speaker 2: we need some cool pirates here and he was like
- 11:08Speaker 2: okay and just interesting and they are still around, you know.
- 11:13Speaker 2: It is like like yeah, he created them and now
- 11:16Speaker 2: they're still here.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So yeah, I wonder like it's because that didn't occur
- 11:23Speaker 1: to me for some reason. I imagine Oda as just
- 11:25Speaker 1: being like the mad scientist guy who is behind all
- 11:31Speaker 1: of this stuff with no restraints put on them or anything.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But they're being a an editor who is just like,
- 11:45Speaker 1: you're gonna need to do this. What else has that
- 11:49Speaker 1: happened with? Do you know? Offhand? Like obviously no spoilers,
- 11:54Speaker 1: but because it never occurred to me that there was
- 11:56Speaker 1: somebody just sort of being like, I'm going to order
- 11:59Speaker 1: up three new pirates, please have those ready. That's kind
- 12:03Speaker 1: of crazy as a writer to just have those being
- 12:06Speaker 1: demanded and you just have to kind of inorganically find
- 12:10Speaker 1: a way to fit them into the story just because
- 12:12Speaker 1: it's been decided this is a thing. M So it's
- 12:16Speaker 1: like he's a gardener, but also there's like an invasive
- 12:19Speaker 1: species that he has.
- 12:20Speaker 2: A worker around maybe, but then again he like, yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 2: he incorporates it, you know, and it does not feel Yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 2: And I don't know how much power he has to
- 12:34Speaker 2: say no to something. I guess I would guess he has.
- 12:38Speaker 2: On the top of my head, I cannot speak I
- 12:41Speaker 2: think of a specific thing, but just like the general,
- 12:46Speaker 2: Louvie is one of the favorite characters of the show,
- 12:50Speaker 2: like like and basically he has to be, especially in
- 12:56Speaker 2: the anime, in every episode, and also in the mangahi,
- 13:02Speaker 2: even if it's just for panel or something, Lovie will
- 13:04Speaker 2: be there, you know, like like I feel like those
- 13:07Speaker 2: kind of things because it hips the viewers happy, so
- 13:13Speaker 2: I can get that too.
- 13:16Speaker 1: That also leads me to like wonder exactly why the
- 13:19Speaker 1: editor asked for it, because like they must have focus
- 13:23Speaker 1: groups and stuff that they show episodes too and ask
- 13:26Speaker 1: like what do you want to see next? You know,
- 13:29Speaker 1: that kind of thing. And there's nothing like inherently wrong
- 13:34Speaker 1: with just being like, hey, we're gonna we want you
- 13:36Speaker 1: to add these things. Sometimes if you're an artist and
- 13:39Speaker 1: you are given really specific parameters, it can be helpful.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Weirdly, I don't even know if it was like I
- 13:47Speaker 2: think like they just asked for villains, like because in
- 13:49Speaker 2: this Saba Odi if you remember, there was like no
- 13:52Speaker 2: true villain there, and they were like, it seems like
- 13:56Speaker 2: a little too safe, So can we in crawl with
- 14:00Speaker 2: something that makes it more threatening? And so what that
- 14:02Speaker 2: came up with, like all these different powerful pirates there
- 14:07Speaker 2: that the store Haads actually don't end up fighting on
- 14:09Speaker 2: the island, but they're just like the presence and like
- 14:11Speaker 2: their omens should give the show more.
- 14:16Speaker 1: So let's show dragons.
- 14:18Speaker 2: The villain, Like, yes they are, but they're wanted to be.
- 14:25Speaker 2: They're like obvious at the beginning, and they wanted something
- 14:28Speaker 2: more obvious and more written in the regular time. Yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 2: I guess that's as far as I know. I'm not
- 14:36Speaker 2: an expert on this particular, but that's what I gathered
- 14:39Speaker 2: from reading interviews and stuff like that.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Right, yeah, I accept that. Okay, all right, all right,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm getting so caught up in.
- 14:49Speaker 2: This before we before we like move on, like again
- 14:56Speaker 2: theorizing just about Cusan, like do you have any furious
- 15:01Speaker 2: on him?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Like that?
- 15:03Speaker 2: What's he up to and where he's going?
- 15:07Speaker 1: No, this is one series where I feel like theorizing
- 15:14Speaker 1: is a joke because nothing goes how I think it's
- 15:19Speaker 1: gonna go. There will be weird elements that are like
- 15:24Speaker 1: affecting people's decisions that I don't know about yet, you know.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And characters are just so bonkers that their motivations. All
- 15:34Speaker 1: think it's like, oh, they want to do this because
- 15:36Speaker 1: of money, and then you meet them and it's just like, no,
- 15:38Speaker 1: she's just obsessed with candy and just wants candy all
- 15:40Speaker 1: the time. That's it. That's her whole motivation is that
- 15:43Speaker 1: she's a candy fiend. And I would never you know
- 15:46Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So it's very much like I don't
- 15:50Speaker 1: even try to like suss things out ahead of time
- 15:54Speaker 1: with big players because it just feels like I just
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'm just gonna lay back and let it walk show
- 16:00Speaker 1: for me, and you show me this weird man walking
- 16:04Speaker 1: down a hallway with a whole pork chop stuck to
- 16:06Speaker 1: his face, and I'll just be like, oh, here's this guy, Okay,
- 16:11Speaker 1: Like sure it's fair.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I just love to because we don't see him
- 16:19Speaker 2: for the rest of these episodes. So he just sails
- 16:23Speaker 2: off on his penguin. I want one, so bad, like
- 16:27Speaker 2: it looks so chill.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yes, yes, definitely, and I'm trying to find the spot.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Oh my god, right because in the middle of this
- 16:40Speaker 1: episode is also the one where Momo turns into a
- 16:45Speaker 1: dragon and he doesn't like his father has apparently not
- 16:50Speaker 1: retained the fact that this is still Momo, even though
- 16:54Speaker 1: he met his son as a dragon and he turned
- 16:58Speaker 1: human and he had to make his son clothes recently
- 17:04Speaker 1: and that doesn't feel like something that you would forget,
- 17:08Speaker 1: but he has. So he turns and sees his son
- 17:12Speaker 1: and it's just like, what the hell is this dragon
- 17:15Speaker 1: doing here? And where is my son? And uh, this
- 17:19Speaker 1: is a whole yeah, the bit here. It's so weird.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Later on, Lufy says something about how you can fly?
- 17:30Speaker 1: You did it? I know you can fly, and Momo
- 17:33Speaker 1: is like, no, I can't, and he has this weird
- 17:36Speaker 1: vision of Dope Flamingo reaching toward him saying what's your name?
- 17:41Speaker 1: And then ah, it's like he's having like a triggered
- 17:45Speaker 1: like flashback episode and he just stops and starts yelling
- 17:50Speaker 1: at Loofy and is like, no, I can't, No, I don't,
- 17:53Speaker 1: I don't know what you're talking about. And even if
- 17:57Speaker 1: I could do something like that, I won't and this
- 17:59Speaker 1: like this happens later, but it's just I figure get
- 18:02Speaker 1: Momo out of the way here. Yeah, I am so
- 18:06Speaker 1: curious what this could be because normally when people have
- 18:12Speaker 1: powers in this world, it's either from the Devil Fruit
- 18:15Speaker 1: itself or they train and they open up powers that
- 18:20Speaker 1: by training really hard. And whatever's going on with him here,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I mean, it's still possible that it's from the Devil
- 18:30Speaker 1: Fruit because like Loofy had to tell him he could
- 18:34Speaker 1: transform back into a human being at will, and he can.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He just didn't know he could do that and didn't try.
- 18:43Speaker 1: So maybe it's something like that where it's something innate
- 18:46Speaker 1: that he just hasn't tapped into yet. But it feels
- 18:49Speaker 1: like doll FILMINGO had something to do with it, which
- 18:53Speaker 1: may be part of the thing being not a real
- 18:55Speaker 1: devil fruit, you know.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Maybe yeah, no, like we but the thing is like
- 19:04Speaker 2: the thing if the Devil Fruit happened on Punk Hazard,
- 19:07Speaker 2: like that's where he ate it and Doplomento was not there,
- 19:11Speaker 2: so I mean it could have something could happen before that,
- 19:15Speaker 2: like before they came to Punk Hasard, But yeah, we
- 19:19Speaker 2: don't know, like just to talk about these two in general,
- 19:23Speaker 2: like Kinemon as well. They are looking for like a
- 19:28Speaker 2: third guy, like another one right who's also on Dress Rosa.
- 19:35Speaker 2: And the story goes that they fled from Wano, came
- 19:39Speaker 2: to Dress Rosa and then got split up and Momo
- 19:43Speaker 2: just ended up on the ship and the kinemone went
- 19:47Speaker 2: after Momo and the other guy stayed behind and to
- 19:51Speaker 2: protect them.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so many there are so many moving parts
- 19:57Speaker 1: at this point in the story.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, And I just wanted to ask you, like, how
- 20:03Speaker 2: do you feel about these two be like these characters
- 20:08Speaker 2: being here, like like they are on the ship, like
- 20:11Speaker 2: they're drawling with us for the moment, please, And I
- 20:15Speaker 2: just wanted to like hear your thoughts on that.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I don't.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Like.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I don't mind it's it's mostly because it feels like
- 20:30Speaker 1: it's going to be a temporary thing. So I'm just
- 20:33Speaker 1: kind of rolling with it, and like you know, it
- 20:35Speaker 1: adds a weird dynamic that I sort of like. I
- 20:38Speaker 1: don't love them as characters. I find them to be
- 20:42Speaker 1: a little bit they feel like they're very much here
- 20:47Speaker 1: to serve a particular function in like the comedy of stuff.
- 20:52Speaker 1: But I don't the only other thing they really bring
- 20:56Speaker 1: to the table is their abilities and as far as
- 21:01Speaker 1: how much they like add to things in general, I
- 21:05Speaker 1: don't really like most of the scenes that they're in
- 21:09Speaker 1: that much. They're not very the first of all, not
- 21:13Speaker 1: likable too much. You know, we've got just this sort
- 21:18Speaker 1: of like creepster vibe coming off and the sun the
- 21:23Speaker 1: whole thing with him and just motor boating the ship
- 21:26Speaker 1: out of Nami repeatedly. Yes, you guys, I don't why.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Okay, before were already here, right before we people moving.
- 21:45Speaker 2: One reason I'm also here is to give you a
- 21:48Speaker 2: couple of heads up. One of them is that, sadly,
- 21:53Speaker 2: this next arc that we will be in.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Going to get worse.
- 22:00Speaker 2: There is going to be like an interesting female character
- 22:04Speaker 2: with an interesting outfit, Like the outfit is like the
- 22:07Speaker 2: main problem. Oh boy, yeah, you will see, you will
- 22:13Speaker 2: see what I mean, just like.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm really I'm very curious now, Okay, Like there have
- 22:19Speaker 1: been some wild costumes for women in the show already,
- 22:21Speaker 1: So if you're like, I need to give you a warning,
- 22:24Speaker 1: it's really got to be kind of crazy.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe I hype it too much, but we will see, well,
- 22:32Speaker 2: we'll see. Yeah, No, but but I get what you
- 22:36Speaker 2: see about say about these two. I do like them.
- 22:40Speaker 2: For like, again, they have some comedic elements to it.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I don't know, like they do kind of like drop
- 22:48Speaker 2: some things here and there, like for example, they say
- 22:50Speaker 2: also like I'm jumping around a little bit, I'm sorry,
- 22:54Speaker 2: But they also say, Okay.
- 22:55Speaker 1: There's like everything is sort of disconnected in this section
- 22:58Speaker 1: a little bit because of how so I think that's
- 23:01Speaker 1: just going to happen.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah. They also want to go to Seoul, which is
- 23:06Speaker 2: like the island after rests apparently you know so right right,
- 23:11Speaker 2: So it's kind of like, okay, you want to go
- 23:14Speaker 2: there and there, you know, like like something seems to
- 23:18Speaker 2: line up really or the question is why even like
- 23:22Speaker 2: who are you to Like yeah, I know, yeah, yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It's sort of weird because I keep like grouping Momo
- 23:32Speaker 1: in with all the other kids that got abducted, and
- 23:35Speaker 1: like he isn't part of that group. He wound up
- 23:38Speaker 1: with them in it by accident, but he's not one
- 23:42Speaker 1: of them. So I kept thinking about his father as
- 23:45Speaker 1: just like pursuing the lead on his own about their abduction.
- 23:50Speaker 1: And then we get to see a little bit more
- 23:53Speaker 1: on exactly what happened and it's not like that at all.
- 23:58Speaker 1: But yeah, the like I just everything is very affected
- 24:06Speaker 1: by the creepiness factor for the both of them. Like
- 24:10Speaker 1: it's just hard to get past with Brooke he is
- 24:13Speaker 1: a creep, but he is so fucking funny otherwise, And
- 24:18Speaker 1: just purely I cannot get over how every line that
- 24:22Speaker 1: comes out of Brooks mouth, you guys, is just absolute
- 24:24Speaker 1: pure gold. There's a point where he's like recounting all
- 24:27Speaker 1: of the terrifying things about do Flamingo, and then there's
- 24:30Speaker 1: just a pause and he goes, I'm scared. It's just
- 24:35Speaker 1: like he's like observing from the outside, like, oh, that's
- 24:38Speaker 1: actually extremely intimidating.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Or.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Where I come from, if you want to be a pervert,
- 24:45Speaker 1: you have to ask politely first. Those are words to
- 24:49Speaker 1: live by. Literally. That is just like, honestly the whole
- 24:55Speaker 1: vibe of any sort of kink. And he's not actually
- 25:02Speaker 1: honest about this because he asks for pantees shots all
- 25:06Speaker 1: the time, which without consent, So he's not being polite,
- 25:09Speaker 1: he's being grossed. But he's just got so much else
- 25:13Speaker 1: going for him that I am able to overlook a
- 25:16Speaker 1: lot of it. But like this Dad, it's like he
- 25:19Speaker 1: is an asshole to everybody who tries to help him.
- 25:21Speaker 1: At first, when he eventually realizes his mistake, he's like
- 25:25Speaker 1: kind of grudging about it, and then as he begins
- 25:32Speaker 1: to be a little bit better with the crew, he's
- 25:34Speaker 1: still gross with Nami, and once it's time for him
- 25:37Speaker 1: to come up with disguises, is like, oh yeah, the
- 25:40Speaker 1: women have to wear as little as possible. Oh my god, man,
- 25:44Speaker 1: can you please? Can you?
- 25:47Speaker 2: So?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna give them like a six.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Out of ten fair, No, I'm I totally agree, Like
- 25:55Speaker 2: especially with the death I'm gonna say with the boy.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Maybe this is just me think like hoping, but I
- 26:03Speaker 2: just feel like a part of it is also like
- 26:05Speaker 2: he kind of recognizes that it pieces the odds off,
- 26:09Speaker 2: you know, and like some when kids can get a
- 26:11Speaker 2: reaction out of you, that will do it again. Yeah, true,
- 26:15Speaker 2: And maybe that's also part of it.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah that's true.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but okay, sorry, where did we stop? We are
- 26:30Speaker 2: on the sp.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Because we've jumped back and forth like, no, it's it's
- 26:37Speaker 1: not your fault. It's like the way that this has happened.
- 26:39Speaker 1: It's so this is when us up hears that they
- 26:42Speaker 1: can make double fruits and smashes his own hand with
- 26:45Speaker 1: a hammer, and he has to has explained to them,
- 26:50Speaker 1: like all all of the people that are in Kaido's
- 26:55Speaker 1: army have this, and just how powerful they are, but
- 27:01Speaker 1: also that their abilities are sort of inconsistent and unstable,
- 27:05Speaker 1: which you don't really get a lot of detail on
- 27:08Speaker 1: how that what that means, which I would prefer to
- 27:12Speaker 1: not know because I think it's gonna look crazy. So
- 27:16Speaker 1: I am looking forward to that and then we get
- 27:21Speaker 1: and I am just gonna screenshare for a second with you.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I know, I know what face is coming up.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Do you know the face and events.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Of see sir? Yes, sir, yes, it's a fucking prod
- 27:40Speaker 2: for himself.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, he looks crazy. I need to screenshot this.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I don't know if it'll even work. Though a lot
- 27:51Speaker 1: of screenshotting of like streaming services, it just turns into
- 27:54Speaker 1: like a black square. Nope, it worked, nice, note to self, Hulu,
- 27:59Speaker 1: lets me do it it. But yeah, I just it's
- 28:05Speaker 1: just so funny, and like they pretty quickly after being
- 28:08Speaker 1: like it's incredible that they can do that, they pretty
- 28:12Speaker 1: quickly shift to like, oh, Caesar, just like you know,
- 28:16Speaker 1: did the thing a little bit further that Vega Punk did,
- 28:21Speaker 1: so it wasn't really all his idea. He isn't the
- 28:24Speaker 1: genius that he wants to think he is.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna say I have
- 28:33Speaker 2: a soft spot for Caesar. I did work like in
- 28:38Speaker 2: a laboratory myself for like three years, just like yeah,
- 28:45Speaker 2: and it was a great time. And I like science,
- 28:48Speaker 2: So even though he's like an evil asshole, I don't know,
- 28:50Speaker 2: like I always like the mad scientist trope. That's just
- 28:55Speaker 2: something I love, Like, like you will always get me
- 28:58Speaker 2: with that, and it's so.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Funny because like you, I am so the opposite where
- 29:04Speaker 1: mad scientist trope pops up and I'm usually just like,
- 29:08Speaker 1: oh boy, this is gonna be rough, like it just
- 29:10Speaker 1: bothers me. But Caesar's very much an exception because he's
- 29:14Speaker 1: just so he is so like flamboyant in a way
- 29:23Speaker 1: that mad scientists don't get to be a lot of
- 29:26Speaker 1: the time that I love it. Yes, I'm trying to
- 29:31Speaker 1: remember what's the villain's name from Sonic the Hedgehog.
- 29:35Speaker 2: A robotnic robotnick, Yes, robotic the ead was.
- 29:41Speaker 1: The one he had.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Like I think of a weird name, like first it
- 29:46Speaker 2: was Egghead and then they changed it later to Robotnik
- 29:50Speaker 2: at some point.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Really, yeah, robotic is a lot better than egghead.
- 29:56Speaker 2: What Yeah, but I also maybe that could be also
- 29:59Speaker 2: like the German version, because the Germans also like to
- 30:02Speaker 2: translate things for no reason.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Wild, but I liked it. Caesar gets Also, I don't
- 30:18Speaker 2: know that everybody's like full of his, like has enough
- 30:21Speaker 2: of him, Like.
- 30:22Speaker 1: I just yes, it's really weird to see him reduced
- 30:27Speaker 1: to this state where he's just like sitting on deck
- 30:29Speaker 1: taking whatever, like strays he catches on while they're talking.
- 30:35Speaker 1: He's just over there just being like, y, I forget
- 30:38Speaker 1: he's there until all of a sudden he just like
- 30:40Speaker 1: chimes in with something. And later on when again jumping
- 30:46Speaker 1: ahead a little bit, but uh Dopfelmingo calls them or
- 30:49Speaker 1: he picks up because they've been calling. He is like,
- 30:54Speaker 1: let me know that he's really there, and Caesar like
- 30:56Speaker 1: kind of shuffles forward and it's just like hey, I'm
- 30:59Speaker 1: so and I just Caesar apologizing instead of just being like, hey,
- 31:05Speaker 1: get me out of this, what the fuck? Instead he's
- 31:09Speaker 1: just like, my bad, I really didn't do the job.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I just found that very very adorable. And then here
- 31:18Speaker 1: when they're like, hey, you're not actually that the genius
- 31:22Speaker 1: after all, Vega punk is and he yells like, oh really,
- 31:26Speaker 1: I'm not a genius. Well, then you try making sad
- 31:28Speaker 1: and see how good you are at it, and just
- 31:31Speaker 1: gets punched in the head while kicked by a saugy
- 31:35Speaker 1: who's like, uh, you still don't have the common sense
- 31:37Speaker 1: to keep your fucking mouth shut, and he was just
- 31:40Speaker 1: like sorry, but yeah, all of this comes to the
- 31:45Speaker 1: point where we have to find the factory where these
- 31:48Speaker 1: are being produced and bust it up and cut off
- 31:51Speaker 1: the supply. And Frankie is very confident that this is
- 31:57Speaker 1: not going to be a problem because how small and
- 32:02Speaker 1: hidden can you make a factory? I would like to
- 32:06Speaker 1: point out, Frankie, there was just like a laboratory that
- 32:12Speaker 1: was like hidden in a mountain in like recently that
- 32:17Speaker 1: you were in that you did not know was there. Yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 1: things can be hidden in this world a lot quite easily,
- 32:25Speaker 1: So you know, maybe just slow your role there on
- 32:29Speaker 1: thinking everything is cool and gonna be easy. He literally
- 32:32Speaker 1: uses the word easy. So yeah, yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 2: And I think when when is this when they get
- 32:47Speaker 2: the call or like talk with the Flamingo.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Let's see. Oh wait, first, there's a storm that comes
- 32:54Speaker 1: up because Kinemon is about to explain that he has
- 32:57Speaker 1: the uh what what's the matter?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah? No, no, like the eyes I remember.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, kinnyone is about to explain that they have a
- 33:08Speaker 1: that he has like a friend that's been captured and
- 33:11Speaker 1: is being held. And just as he is about to
- 33:15Speaker 1: get into this part of the story, this is when
- 33:18Speaker 1: the storm shows up. We don't really need to go
- 33:21Speaker 1: through this. They just managed to like use their abilities
- 33:24Speaker 1: to get out of here. And then we have a
- 33:27Speaker 1: sort of like montage of Nami and Momo hanging out
- 33:37Speaker 1: and her teaching him stuff, and you know, it's just
- 33:40Speaker 1: such a shame that it all had to be overshadowed
- 33:42Speaker 1: by him motor boating her, because this is actually quite adorable,
- 33:46Speaker 1: and like, if you were not somebody who has kids,
- 33:52Speaker 1: it can be so like humbling to be around a
- 33:58Speaker 1: child and teach them stuff and see how completely they
- 34:02Speaker 1: trust you to tell them the truth about stuff and
- 34:05Speaker 1: get impressed by things. So I just really really liked this.
- 34:09Speaker 1: I wish that they hadn't like undercut it. Later and
- 34:17Speaker 1: we've got the patrol with fucking' oose up in like
- 34:20Speaker 1: the Samurai Armor where he is making sure that everything
- 34:24Speaker 1: is ship shape and nobody is after them. But this
- 34:27Speaker 1: episode wraps up with Brooke, Sanji and Kinemon hearing that
- 34:36Speaker 1: Momo is taking a bath with Robin and them all
- 34:41Speaker 1: getting very upset and running in there to like break
- 34:45Speaker 1: it up, and then Robin and Nami defending him and
- 34:51Speaker 1: being like he's literally a child, but him grinning over
- 34:56Speaker 1: her shoulder at them like eh, I'm in her tw
- 35:01Speaker 1: and them just being like god, damn it. Such a
- 35:05Speaker 1: weird little bit. Yeah, all right, so ahead because I
- 35:13Speaker 1: we've got the fillers. Yeah, I really I do want
- 35:16Speaker 1: to go back and like watch all the fillers in
- 35:19Speaker 1: like you have like a chill day at home, and
- 35:23Speaker 1: I haven't. Like one of these is titled Loofy Dies
- 35:27Speaker 1: at Sea, and I was like, that's a filler episode,
- 35:32Speaker 1: but you know, obviously he's not dead.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Alarming, Okay, I mean I can send you like a filler.
- 35:40Speaker 2: It's like, which episodes are fillers?
- 35:42Speaker 1: Like, then yeah, if you're able to do that, that'd
- 35:46Speaker 1: be awesome. And then I can just because I watched
- 35:48Speaker 1: the fillers the like you known, like two hundred episodes
- 35:54Speaker 1: or so, and then I just got I just fell behind.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I think that there was a time where
- 36:03Speaker 2: the dogs came in your life.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And oh yeah, I think you're right all right, So
- 36:13Speaker 1: then jump into the end of six twenty eight. This
- 36:16Speaker 1: is when the news of do Flamingo's resignation shows up
- 36:22Speaker 1: on the front page. But also that there are a
- 36:26Speaker 1: lot of new alliances happening and somehow the news has
- 36:30Speaker 1: just gotten hold of all of this information and put
- 36:34Speaker 1: it out there really quickly. Like a bunch of the
- 36:36Speaker 1: pirates as well, are just like how do they even
- 36:39Speaker 1: know this yet? And I also have that question like
- 36:44Speaker 1: is somebody wearing a bug what?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Which just like a quick question do you think the
- 36:51Speaker 2: news is? Is it controlled by the government or like
- 36:56Speaker 2: what is the news situation in this world?
- 36:58Speaker 1: I don't know. It feels like like based on the
- 37:03Speaker 1: way that the camera thing worked at what is the
- 37:11Speaker 1: the War of the Best that's what the name of,
- 37:13Speaker 1: where they had like the film of the whole thing
- 37:16Speaker 1: for everybody to watch and Buggy kept doing his like propaganda,
- 37:22Speaker 1: it feels like the government has to have some control
- 37:25Speaker 1: over it. It's sort of here's where I land with
- 37:29Speaker 1: this is like I think probably they do have control
- 37:35Speaker 1: over it, but I almost hope that's not true, just
- 37:38Speaker 1: because the government having control over the news is such
- 37:42Speaker 1: a trope, but also it's a trope because like that's
- 37:46Speaker 1: very very effective and efficient, and if they don't, why
- 37:50Speaker 1: don't they? You know, So like I go, I very
- 37:54Speaker 1: much go back and forth with like, well, I want
- 37:57Speaker 1: to be surprised and for it to not be the
- 37:59Speaker 1: thing that I assume. But if it isn't the thing
- 38:01Speaker 1: that I assume, you better have a damn good reason
- 38:04Speaker 1: because otherwise, you know, So I think I think the
- 38:10Speaker 1: government must, like who would know that this was going on?
- 38:16Speaker 1: That got away was they announced all of this to
- 38:22Speaker 1: do Flamingo's cohorts, I guess because law basically is like
- 38:28Speaker 1: they're not my friends, right to their faces. So maybe
- 38:33Speaker 1: they went and reported on them because they knew that,
- 38:36Speaker 1: like people would target Loofy and his crew even more
- 38:40Speaker 1: if they knew about this alliance, and they they're hoping
- 38:42Speaker 1: to break it up more quickly by doing it that way.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Perhaps could just also be like Smoker and these people,
- 38:51Speaker 2: like why they don't need to keep the secret, you.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Know, Like, yeah, I just have a hard time imagining
- 38:59Speaker 1: Smoker talking to the press, but it would be any
- 39:03Speaker 1: of his other people.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and with families like I get a beer and
- 39:10Speaker 2: they would talk probably.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. So yeah, this is that's that's pretty much
- 39:19Speaker 1: the end of this. And and the uh, the people
- 39:23Speaker 1: who are like they're they're saying, answer us, your majesty
- 39:28Speaker 1: to do Flamingo. He's being called a king and they're saying, like,
- 39:34Speaker 1: why did you resign from the warlords, Please explain yourself,
- 39:38Speaker 1: tell us something. And as we like cut from them,
- 39:42Speaker 1: there's a whole room of transponder snails that are just
- 39:46Speaker 1: beta beta, which is very funny to hear all of
- 39:52Speaker 1: these guys doing it at the same time. The only
- 39:56Speaker 1: one that he actually finally answers is the one from Law,
- 40:00Speaker 1: which I don't know how I never noticed that the
- 40:03Speaker 1: transponder snail from Law is just wearing the same hat
- 40:07Speaker 1: as Law. Yeah, I can't believe I never noticed that before.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Like the whole thing with the transponder snails is they
- 40:15Speaker 1: all look like the guy's you know, like but I
- 40:21Speaker 1: just forget. Yeah, I think that Caesar Clowns had like
- 40:25Speaker 1: the big lips or something that he has like there, Yeah,
- 40:30Speaker 1: it's just very very funny.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just love that they like they call
- 40:38Speaker 2: and he picks up the phone, and Loofy also like
- 40:42Speaker 2: Lufy's and phones. He just has to say something like
- 40:45Speaker 2: if somebody has Every time he just has to scream
- 40:49Speaker 2: into into the receiver like.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like an old man who's like using the
- 40:56Speaker 1: internet for the first time and just does not understand
- 40:58Speaker 1: how any of this work. Yeah, and fucking Doflmingo once
- 41:04Speaker 1: again jumping ahead a little bit, but I'm gonna do it.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Tries to seduce Loofy with the promise of meat, which
- 41:13Speaker 1: is so great, and eventually everybody manages to sort of
- 41:19Speaker 1: snap Loofy out of it, and he apologizes by saying, sorry, guys,
- 41:24Speaker 1: he almost had me under his meat spell. And that
- 41:27Speaker 1: is officially what I'm calling digmatized from now on, is
- 41:32Speaker 1: the meat spell, because that is just like I just
- 41:37Speaker 1: love it so much, that's it, baby. Yeah, Lufy is
- 41:43Speaker 1: so easy to distract this boy. He needs to keep
- 41:49Speaker 1: in mind how he goes so many places where there's
- 41:53Speaker 1: so much food that it's even more hilarious whenever he
- 41:57Speaker 1: gets seduced by food, because it's like, dude, you get
- 42:00Speaker 1: like wined and dined so many places. They have these
- 42:03Speaker 1: insane feasts for you, like the whole time that he
- 42:07Speaker 1: was with Boa and she was just getting him cartfuls
- 42:12Speaker 1: of food. You know, you'll find some food. It'll be fine,
- 42:16Speaker 1: my guy.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Yeah. But then they yeah, they talk about like the
- 42:26Speaker 2: drop off basically, m then let me finish, just like
- 42:31Speaker 2: you see, like they say that all laws as Basically
- 42:35Speaker 2: what will happen next is that they will drop off
- 42:39Speaker 2: Caesar at like an island named green Bit and that
- 42:45Speaker 2: is apparently like next to dress Rosa. As we find
- 42:49Speaker 2: out later, they also can walk there apparently like overbridge
- 42:53Speaker 2: or something, right, and yeah, they do what I think.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I have multiple questions, like what do you think of
- 43:07Speaker 2: the plan and what do you think of.
- 43:11Speaker 1: I didn't really know what to think of it until
- 43:13Speaker 1: like what Trafalgar Law says, because I think it's Zoro
- 43:19Speaker 1: or Sanji that points out, like we agreed to this thing,
- 43:21Speaker 1: but we didn't set any limits on how many people
- 43:24Speaker 1: he can bring with him, And Trafalgar Law is like, well, yeah,
- 43:29Speaker 1: that actually might work in our favor because if he
- 43:31Speaker 1: overloads his dudes at the drop off, then there will
- 43:37Speaker 1: be few of them at the factory, so it'll be
- 43:40Speaker 1: easy for easier for us to get in there. But
- 43:44Speaker 1: my thing is that do Flamingo has seemed to be
- 43:48Speaker 1: pretty smart, and I don't feel like he's gonna get
- 43:51Speaker 1: got that easily. And also this is all depending on
- 43:56Speaker 1: you finding where the factory is by the time of
- 43:59Speaker 1: the draw off, which you don't actually have any clues.
- 44:02Speaker 1: It doesn't feel like so that's a big if. So
- 44:10Speaker 1: it's like, it's not a bad plan if other things
- 44:14Speaker 1: wind up falling into place for it. But it feels
- 44:18Speaker 1: like they're treating it like a fully formed plan already,
- 44:20Speaker 1: and it's not. There's still many variables that we've got
- 44:24Speaker 1: to deal with, you know, And and how do you
- 44:29Speaker 1: set it, Like even if it is a distraction so
- 44:32Speaker 1: that some of you can go and handle the factory,
- 44:35Speaker 1: and even if he takes most of his guys to
- 44:40Speaker 1: handle the drop, you still don't know enough about the factory.
- 44:44Speaker 1: There could still be so many dudes, you know, in
- 44:47Speaker 1: there that you still have to deal with. And who
- 44:51Speaker 1: goes where? And how well does he know the crew?
- 44:53Speaker 1: Is he going to notice that there are people missing
- 44:56Speaker 1: and kind of want to be like, where's so and so,
- 45:00Speaker 1: you know, and begin to put together that there's something
- 45:02Speaker 1: going on like it just there are many ways in
- 45:08Speaker 1: which this could go wrong. So I'm gonna give this
- 45:11Speaker 1: plan like a six point five out of ten. Needs work.
- 45:17Speaker 1: It shows potential, but it needs work.
- 45:21Speaker 2: There. Yeah, No, I just wanted to ask you about
- 45:26Speaker 2: this because I remember actually when I first who okay,
- 45:31Speaker 2: next next? Head up for you? Now it's it's not
- 45:39Speaker 2: it is that this arc is actually going to be
- 45:42Speaker 2: the longest that we have been. Oh okay, we will
- 45:47Speaker 2: stay on this island for a while, And I did
- 45:51Speaker 2: not notice or when I came into this, So I
- 45:55Speaker 2: kind of I'm gonna be honest, I kind of get
- 45:58Speaker 2: fed up with it at some point because you know,
- 46:03Speaker 2: like the pacing in this is not necessarily worse than
- 46:07Speaker 2: it was before. Of course it's a great swarm piece,
- 46:10Speaker 2: but this was like like I was just like I
- 46:14Speaker 2: have seen like like in real time, like almost two
- 46:19Speaker 2: years we have spent here, and I was just like,
- 46:23Speaker 2: come on, So I just want to give you like
- 46:28Speaker 2: because in a rewatch or like looking back at it,
- 46:31Speaker 2: it is like I can see why it's so long
- 46:35Speaker 2: and everything, but just for you to know we will
- 46:38Speaker 2: stay here for a while and.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I'll get comfortable.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, and now I've got my point that I
- 46:49Speaker 2: wanted to make about this.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it was the second thing I think.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Ah was it about their plant?
- 46:58Speaker 2: Ah? Yes, Again I've got what the plan was basically
- 47:01Speaker 2: because oh oh, because I was like watching this week
- 47:06Speaker 2: to week, like literally over multiple months, and at some
- 47:10Speaker 2: point I was like, I have no idea what we're
- 47:12Speaker 2: really trying to do right now. And again, when you
- 47:16Speaker 2: watch it like you will like consume it in a
- 47:19Speaker 2: short time, things make more sense, and I was just
- 47:23Speaker 2: kind of lost to some point.
- 47:24Speaker 1: It's so wild to me how this show is so
- 47:27Speaker 1: inconsistent about what it decides to like repeat and tell
- 47:31Speaker 1: you again and what it doesn't. It will repeat to
- 47:34Speaker 1: you shit that happened earlier that same episode, like you
- 47:38Speaker 1: like you have already forgotten, but then there'll be shit
- 47:41Speaker 1: that's from like literally years back, and they just won't
- 47:47Speaker 1: remind you. And it's like, why do you think I
- 47:51Speaker 1: needed the one flashback? And you don't think that I
- 47:55Speaker 1: need a refresher on who this guy is? Like, it's
- 47:59Speaker 1: it when for a show that relies so much on
- 48:03Speaker 1: creating filler, it's bananas to me that we're going to
- 48:10Speaker 1: have this, like all of these opportunities for Piller that
- 48:16Speaker 1: is actually helpful, and we're just gonna kind of squander
- 48:19Speaker 1: them and do pointless filler of people going.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, like you know, yeah, but the route costs money again,
- 48:28Speaker 2: and I mean it is it is on one thing,
- 48:31Speaker 2: a time thing, but also the money. But like what
- 48:35Speaker 2: it costs money.
- 48:35Speaker 1: All you need to do is reuse the footage from
- 48:37Speaker 1: an earlier episode. It's not even like you have to
- 48:41Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 48:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair, Okay, Now I was thinking more about like, no,
- 48:46Speaker 2: you don't need to reanimate them.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just really weirdly inconsistent to me because there
- 48:55Speaker 1: are so many things that it just feels like we're
- 48:58Speaker 1: going over this again. I get it. You know, you've
- 49:01Speaker 1: explained this to me. Literally every episode, four episosodes in
- 49:04Speaker 1: a row, and then there'll be a character that comes
- 49:07Speaker 1: back that I genuinely can't tell if I'm supposed to
- 49:11Speaker 1: know who this person is. And it's only because one
- 49:14Speaker 1: of y'all in the chat reminds me that I even
- 49:18Speaker 1: realize this is somebody that we've met before. And I
- 49:21Speaker 1: always feel like you guys are just spending so much
- 49:25Speaker 1: time on goofy nothing when you could be smart about
- 49:30Speaker 1: it and help me out with keeping track of things.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I don't know, but that's just the quality of the filler.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I have no problem with filler and principle, I get
- 49:41Speaker 1: the need for it, but like it just feels like
- 49:44Speaker 1: there are better ways to do it most of the
- 49:47Speaker 1: time than the way they choose to do it in
- 49:49Speaker 1: this show. And that's just probably going to be an
- 49:53Speaker 1: ongoing thing. Although somebody posted in the discord about how
- 49:59Speaker 1: they're doing like the remastering did you see that? Yes,
- 50:06Speaker 1: And they're going to be like cutting down the Fishman
- 50:08Speaker 1: Island arc by like thirty percent or something more even
- 50:12Speaker 1: I think.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's like half almost yeah, which I
- 50:18Speaker 2: can see again, which definitely yeah. I I they also
- 50:25Speaker 2: will like reanimate like for Netflix, like the whole one
- 50:30Speaker 2: P series from the beginning, and they have like announced
- 50:34Speaker 2: that like the first saga, which in the original anime
- 50:37Speaker 2: was like fifty episodes, will be like thirty episodes.
- 50:41Speaker 1: So nice. So they're redoing the whole thing like.
- 50:46Speaker 2: In animation, yes, also in animation.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Shit, yeah, when is that happening?
- 50:57Speaker 2: Look it up? But I think like maybe next year, oh.
- 51:00Speaker 1: My god, Wow, one Piece is having a real moment. Yeah,
- 51:06Speaker 1: I see that fucking like one Piece Amusement Park in
- 51:09Speaker 1: our future. Guys. Remember how I like said that should
- 51:12Speaker 1: be a thing in like the second episode or whatever
- 51:15Speaker 1: it was. I just the way that it's picking up steam.
- 51:19Speaker 1: I feel like this is gonna be. Everybody is so
- 51:23Speaker 1: bereft without like Harry Potter to cling to as a
- 51:28Speaker 1: fun fandom property anymore because JK. Rowling is a maniac
- 51:33Speaker 1: and there's this gap of like whimsical goofy ya characters,
- 51:40Speaker 1: and I feel like One Piece could sweep that in,
- 51:43Speaker 1: like sweep into that spot and they could really do
- 51:46Speaker 1: something with that.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. I just looked it up.
- 51:51Speaker 2: They have no like anything official yet, but I think
- 51:58Speaker 2: like they announced this like earlier this year, like I
- 52:02Speaker 2: mean like in the spring sometimes right right, maybe next year,
- 52:07Speaker 2: I would guess, but I don't know, My goodness, you know,
- 52:12Speaker 2: I would say that too. I agree like one piscn
- 52:14Speaker 2: like really it has like a lot of wind in
- 52:20Speaker 2: its sales at the moment. Use like a pun here,
- 52:26Speaker 2: because it is as you said, it has like this,
- 52:31Speaker 2: It has like this childlike quality child in cloths, but
- 52:35Speaker 2: you know, like this wonder is like nonsensical but still
- 52:40Speaker 2: like something maybe you can dive deeper, like and dig
- 52:44Speaker 2: deeper and find like deeper meanings in it if you
- 52:48Speaker 2: want to know that the show can deliver that, if
- 52:52Speaker 2: that's what you're looking for, and if you're just looking
- 52:54Speaker 2: for like fun time, then it also got you covered.
- 52:57Speaker 1: So yes, yes, yeah, I think that this is like
- 53:05Speaker 1: the sort of the draw for me of covering Supernatural
- 53:13Speaker 1: is similar to the need to like fill that Harry
- 53:17Speaker 1: Potter boyd as well. Obviously that's a very different sort
- 53:21Speaker 1: of property, but it's like because that was what Sean
- 53:26Speaker 1: and I as like big series that we first covered.
- 53:32Speaker 1: We covered The Wire before Harry Potter, but we started
- 53:35Speaker 1: Harry Potter so soon after The Wire and it was
- 53:37Speaker 1: so much more long running that I really think of
- 53:39Speaker 1: Harry Potter as our first show together. And I it's
- 53:46Speaker 1: such a shame to have to give up so much
- 53:48Speaker 1: with Harry Potter, and I took it off public feeds
- 53:50Speaker 1: and got rid of like a lot of my fandom stuff,
- 53:54Speaker 1: and I felt really sad because so much of it's
- 53:56Speaker 1: stuff that was gifts from listeners, and it's so nice
- 53:59Speaker 1: to have things that were fed by people who listened
- 54:01Speaker 1: to the show, and it just made me so bummed,
- 54:04Speaker 1: and I am sort of like hoping that Supernatural can
- 54:09Speaker 1: fill that void a little bit as like another really big,
- 54:12Speaker 1: long running property that has a huge fandom, you know.
- 54:16Speaker 1: So I just think that we're all looking for that,
- 54:19Speaker 1: and it's like probably problematic that we're all looking for that,
- 54:22Speaker 1: like why do we need it? You know? But also
- 54:25Speaker 1: let us have this.
- 54:26Speaker 2: The world's lay there, so yeah, we know why we
- 54:29Speaker 2: need it, right exatly, So okay, bags to the episodes.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that's okay. One thing I just want to say, Yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 2: by the way, Harry Potter was why I found you.
- 54:46Speaker 2: I was like factory working, like summer chop, like super bored,
- 54:50Speaker 2: and I just typed in Harry Potter podcast and then
- 54:55Speaker 2: I was like, oh yeah, so I was literally I
- 55:00Speaker 2: had like a whole summer chop where I was allowed
- 55:03Speaker 2: to listen to musical podcasts and I listened to everything,
- 55:07Speaker 2: and like you were like at the last book and
- 55:09Speaker 2: I was like only one summer, but I also had
- 55:13Speaker 2: like eight hours to fail every day. So yeah, and
- 55:19Speaker 2: you made it way more enjoyable. So thank you for.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Yay, And if you guys are listening and you're like,
- 55:25Speaker 1: Harry Potter, you want to become a patron, I believe,
- 55:28Speaker 1: just the dollar level and you get access to the
- 55:31Speaker 1: original episodes. But I took it off public because I
- 55:35Speaker 1: was making money off of the advertising and it just
- 55:39Speaker 1: felt icky to me to be like profiting off it
- 55:43Speaker 1: with her and I saying lots of positive things about
- 55:46Speaker 1: JKA and you know, being supportive of the property overall,
- 55:50Speaker 1: when it's got a lot of problematic elements that I
- 55:52Speaker 1: didn't really grasp at the time, and it just does
- 55:55Speaker 1: not represent the way that we currently feel. So I
- 55:58Speaker 1: didn't want it left out there unattended, so to speak.
- 56:05Speaker 1: But anyway, okay, so this is this is it. This
- 56:08Speaker 1: is the spot where where I can't remember his name,
- 56:12Speaker 1: says that he wants that really they want to go
- 56:15Speaker 1: to Zoo, and uh, Trafalgar is like, that's really convenient.
- 56:20Speaker 1: After I hand off Caesar and destroy the Smile Factory,
- 56:23Speaker 1: like we plan, Zoo was going to be the next
- 56:25Speaker 1: spot on my trip. And he seems to say this
- 56:30Speaker 1: like there's a like he is suspicious of this guy,
- 56:38Speaker 1: But dude does not seem to have an ulterior motive exactly.
- 56:44Speaker 1: He just seems to be like pleasantly surprised that this
- 56:49Speaker 1: is going to work out so well and I don't
- 56:52Speaker 1: know what the deal is there.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and also like he he said first that he
- 56:58Speaker 2: wanted to go to Sue, you know, like it was
- 56:59Speaker 2: not like trafals, Oh I want to go there. Oh
- 57:02Speaker 2: we also need you know, it does not we follow you.
- 57:05Speaker 2: It is like he said it first, So it's not
- 57:09Speaker 2: necessarily like a stock or kind of situation. You know,
- 57:11Speaker 2: it's kind of like.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just like, why are you so suspicious?
- 57:16Speaker 2: Law?
- 57:16Speaker 1: But maybe that's just how he rolls, because he is
- 57:18Speaker 1: definitely you know. So yeah, Kinemon, thank you, thank you
- 57:27Speaker 1: that you Him and his son just like pound their
- 57:29Speaker 1: heads into the tabletop, these two with their freaking bowing.
- 57:35Speaker 1: All right, so what do we what do we jump
- 57:37Speaker 1: to next?
- 57:41Speaker 2: Seven walts thing? Yeah, where you surprised, like there's one
- 57:47Speaker 2: one candidate on this list that maybe surprised you that.
- 57:52Speaker 1: There's there's a new person, Diamante. Have we met Diamante before?
- 58:02Speaker 2: No, not yet.
- 58:04Speaker 1: This name didn't bring any bells for me. Is that
- 58:08Speaker 1: the warlords though, they have like suits of like card
- 58:13Speaker 1: suits for their chairs. And that's where we jump to.
- 58:16Speaker 2: No, that's what we jumped. But if you go as
- 58:18Speaker 2: seen further than you think, we're with the Marines again.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Oh oh okay, gotcha.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Sorry I chumped, Like that is the that is the
- 58:29Speaker 2: do Flamingo Pirates that we will come back to are
- 58:31Speaker 2: the Flamingo Pirates? I don't even know. I have to
- 58:35Speaker 2: look it up.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, I thought it. Well, I guess we
- 58:40Speaker 1: haven't seen them. Yeah, never mind, but that they have,
- 58:44Speaker 1: like this suit is so weird.
- 58:46Speaker 2: The yeah, it looks like the laying cards.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think Diamante is the one later on
- 58:57Speaker 1: that keeps being like no, no, no, don't say that
- 59:00Speaker 1: and then saying, no, you're right. I am a genius,
- 59:03Speaker 1: which I do enjoy that character. That's fun.
- 59:06Speaker 2: But we have not met him before, but he really like.
- 59:11Speaker 1: The most of what happens with this is like at
- 59:13Speaker 1: the end of the last of these episodes, so I
- 59:16Speaker 1: guess we can wait they get this is The thing
- 59:19Speaker 1: about the structure of things sometimes is that you get
- 59:22Speaker 1: this first flash and you think that this is when
- 59:24Speaker 1: the scene happens, but it's just a quick to you
- 59:26Speaker 1: and then it's like way later that the conversation takes.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Place, you know, Yeah, we got mixed up there.
- 59:34Speaker 1: It's not your fault. Like that's that's what the show does.
- 59:36Speaker 1: It confuses you. I have this while I'm like recording
- 59:40Speaker 1: by myself all the time as well.
- 59:42Speaker 2: I mean, we can't talk about like like the scene
- 59:45Speaker 2: if you want to like the.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's just go ahead. And because it doesn't really
- 59:49Speaker 1: affect other things timing wise.
- 59:52Speaker 2: No, So we have like the amante and I don't
- 59:58Speaker 2: know if he gets the art person's name.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I don't think so, the one that's in the clubs suit.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think we get to name yet. But anyway,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: that seemed to be like part of like do Flamingo's
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: circle because what happens is that he entrusted them. No,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: like the amounta with the well the devil fruit with
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: aces devil fruit and I wanted you to ask, like
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: what you think about that?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very confused about this because my assumption is that, see,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: this is the thing that like you brought up in
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: another episode of like what happens to somebody's devil fruit
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: powers when they die, and like Teach comes and steals
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: devil fruit powers after somebody dies. But that's like a
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: special thing that he's able to do that nobody has
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: apparently really heard of before. So does this mean that,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: like if a person with devil fruit powers dies, that
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: the devil fruit is reformed when they die, or is
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: this just like a synthetic devil fruit made with smile
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that has the same abilities that aces had. I don't
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: know how much they can make the devil fruits with
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: smile to order, like how it because you know, it
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: seems like mostly when people eat devil fruits, they don't
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: know what the power is going to be. They just
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: eat them and they hope that it's something cool and
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: sometimes it's fucking not. But it seems like the way
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: he talks about it as being like the source of
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Ace's power, that does not feel synthetic to me. That
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: sounds like he's talking about the thing.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Yeah. And also Law said before like the synthetic ones
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: are like apparently like unstable. Yeah, so I think it
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: is pretty reasonable to say that they cannot really control
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: what happens. Yeah, so I would guess that it's the
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: real one, especially honestly how it's presented. It would be
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: such an Oakie doak when like to us as the viewer,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: if it's Oh no, it's not the real one.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: It wouldn't be like it wouldn't be too bad if
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: it weren't the real one, if the point of it
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: was to make it like, well, we're creating this very
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: tempting lure for Loofy, you know what I mean. But
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: but I really it just you know, there's nobody watching
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: right now for them to try and trick. It seems
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: like this is really the thing and the idea of
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Loofy having Ace's power if you were to eat it.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I don't know how that works, because has have they
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: tried eating more than one devil fruit? Has anybody done that?
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Do we know what happens? Does one power replace another power?
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: No? We have the CP nine agents back in any
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: lobby talked about it. Actually that apparently when you eat
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: two devil fruits you explode apparently.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Right right right.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: We have not seen that.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Oh that's funny.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I've not seen that happen. But they're not.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: The CP nine guys were the only ones that explicitly
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: said what would happen. But we have also heard other
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: people say it is not possible to have two at
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: the same time, which why teachers is like so impressive.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe that wind is crazy sounding. My god,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: maybe Loofy can get like teach his ability and somehow
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: absorb I don't know, teachers absorbed it out of the person.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a way to do it
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: out of the fruit without you know what I mean,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: unless you fed it to somebody and then killed them
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: and then absorbed it. Oh my god, Florian, that is
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: like mercenary.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Sir, mm hmm, okay, okay, but I wanted to ask
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: you something like how reasonable you find this lure or
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: like this I'm gonna say, I'm going to completely be
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: honest first time watching and still today today I'm a
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: little bit less. But this would not interest me. I
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: don't know. Maybe this makes me an awful broader or
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: I don't know, but I would be just like, yeah, okay,
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: you have his fruit, congrats, Like I would not even
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: say his fruit because it will be like it was
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: not his, like he had this power. Apparently somebody else
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: had it and now you have what Like I would
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I personally, like me, would not care about it. I
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: can get that people would be having an emotional attachment
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: to it, but that's not me. That's not my personality.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Yeah, yeah, it's really like this is something
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: that I tend to run into, not just with this show,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: but a lot of other stuff, where like people have
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: a reaction to a thing that I really have to
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: sort of do a little bit of a somersault to
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: get where they're coming from. And it's not like that
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: they're invalid, it's just so not how I would react
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: that I have to really recontextualize things in my head
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: to understand why they are so upset or they feel
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: like outraged about a thing. And this is one where
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Lufy is so he is so emotional, you know, he
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: really really is. And the way that Ace died and
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: how Loofy like blames himself and everything, I think it
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: would turn into this irrational stew that would make him
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: like perhaps fixate on this thing as like a means
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: of preserving his brother's memory in a way that he
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: isn't able to otherwise. But I don't even know how
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: that would work, like just putting the devil fruit in
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: a box somewhere and holding on to it, Like what
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: good does that do? And if he lets somebody eat it?
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Who would he? Loofy can be so unpredictable, with like
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: going from being super emotional to then really like cavalier
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: about stuff. So what I'm picturing is Loofy fighting to
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: the like tooth and nail for this fruit on principle
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: getting it, and then somebody who hasn't got any powers
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: being like sure would be cool if I had a
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: devil fruit and Lufy just being like here, you can
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: have this one, and its just being like nothing, you know,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: He's just so all over the place sometimes where it's
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: really like the principle of the thing much more than
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the practicality of the thing, Like this.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Other person just needed to have shared food with Loofy
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: like an hour earlier, and he would be like, yeah,
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: you can have it.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Exactly exactly, like it would be somebody he barely even knows,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: and it would be that would be fine because you
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: were a cool guy, you know.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we will see what happens with that. But
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: I like that we can like this and what you
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: said before with the meat, like do Flamingo is he
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: kind of can play some okay characters, like he kind
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: of understands people like what I find. Oh we did
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: not talk about this, but baby five is outside looking
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: for treble. It's like this right weird thing and he like, like,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: we see a lot of characters there. Don't worry again,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: it is a long arc, so you will get to
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: know these characters, so you don't need to know them
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: all right away. But but no one that's an interesting
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Like this travel guy goes after baby five and he's like,
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: she says you're too close, and he's like, but but
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: but but but and like and he wants that She says,
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: you like it after we say, see the same thing
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: with do Flamingo, But do Flamingo? But I like it.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: So he kind of knows how to not necessarily please people,
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: but he just kind of knows what buttons to push
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: or like.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he gets Loofy more than Law gets loofy because
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Low keeps being surprised at the fact that Luvie doesn't
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: take shit seriously. And I'm like, dude, you've had a
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: lot of opportunities to like understand this guy so far,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: and you still insists that he is going to change
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: he is who he is. But but yeah, do Flamingo
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: seems to get it. It's reminded have you read the
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Bastian series. I'm about to get you into another series
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: forgive me, but you should read the Immortal Great Soul series.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: The first book is called Bashian and it's basically like
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: a more grown up, intense version of Cradles. It's the
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: same like magic system that kind of like cultivation magic,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: but it's got this overarching mystery to the world building,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: and the characters are really really well done. And this
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: is a writer who keeps like sub he keeps uh
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: subverting expectations and like being like, oh, yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: do this trope psych And there's a character in that
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: that is like I'm looking back and be like, oh,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: he had real do Flamingo energy of like, as somebody
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: who's a really good manager knows that you have to
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: appeal to people at the level that they are at
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: in order to get them to cooperate with you, and
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: you have to understand what their strengths and weaknesses are
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: and make good use of them in that capacity, and
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: you have to keep people on your side. And everybody
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: isn't going to all want the same things. Not just
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: giving everybody money is necessarily going to be the thing.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: And do Flamingo seems to be a person who really
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: like manipulates quite well, you know, and to a degree,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: that's just like a good life skill to have and
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: that doesn't have to be manipulation, guys, But like, if
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: you try and stay aware of people and try to
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: like step back from the judgment part part of it,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: because I fall into that where I'll be like, oh
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: my god, they really love like money and fancy purses
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: and blah blah blah, and I will be very But
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: if you can step away from the judgment and just
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: be like, that's what motivates them and understand that, then
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: you can meet them where they're at and relate to
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: them in a way that it might feel disingenuous to
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: you but is actually more effective because it's not all
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: about you.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: You know, absolutely. I also, okay, now this is like
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: do you want to talk about like the do Flamingo
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: site more?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Or I feel I don't know what else to say
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: about him because that whole thing, Like I feel like
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I'm just getting the very beginnings of his deal. I
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: really wish that we had gotten to know him a
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: little bit better before the reveal that he's the joker,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: because I just didn't have much of a reaction to it,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: and I know that he's apparently like kind of a
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: fan favorite character, so evidently other people were like, oh shit,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: and I just didn't have that because you know, he's
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: got a fun design and he can be a real
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: scally wag, but otherwise whatever, you know.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: The first time we heard Choker, like the name Choker
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: was but actually in Saba Odi the auctioning house where
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: the auctions of humans, because apparently also had his fingers
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: in there as wells. Yeah, but the other thing I
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: won't mentioned before were like the Seven Wallods, and we
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: have like a brief scene like the Marines talking about it,
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: and we have like ours usual as suspects like me Hawk,
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: oh right, the other ones and the newest one I'm
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: not newest one but that we did not know about
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: until now is Buggy. Are you?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Oh my god? One yes and two so excited. I
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: miss this guy so much. I just it's so funny
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: how it is with these characters, How like I don't
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: realize I miss somebody until they pop back up again
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh hey, And Buggy is just I
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: love him. He's such a good character. He is so consistent,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: He is such a goon, and the voice actor does
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: such a great job with him, and the animation for
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: him is always fucking like almost psychedelic because of just
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: body parts flying all over the place. I am very
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: excited that he is going to get involved in things
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: again because when he was at h Impelled down, I
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: was like super stoked to have him like low key
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: on Loofy's side, even though not really. And then we
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: departed and he was still out there after the war
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: the best, I think, right, like running free. But I
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: just was like, I guess we'll catch up with him later,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: and it didn't occur to me to wonder what he's
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: been up to for two years, you know. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: so I am. I'm very very excited. I think that
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: he is, like there is rarely going to be a
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: time I think in this show where you pull him
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: out and I'm not going to be clapping my hands
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: and giggling excitedly. Because as soon as he popped up up,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: my face lit up. You should have seen me. I
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: was just like, oh my god. You know, all these
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: other pirates I'm sure are very tough and intimidating and cool,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I don't need all that. Yeah, I like the guy.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: I think I think probably we have said this before,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: but I think Oda said that Buggy scenes are like
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: his favorite scenes to like raw or like to write.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: You can feel it, you can feel that he is
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: having such a good time writing this stuff.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: The only other person that I've been like wondering about
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: was Alvida because she took his crew and I can't
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: remember what happened after that when she convinced them to
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: like abandon Buggy.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Yes, I think we see them actually like reunite, like
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: at the end, like when that before the two year
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: time skip happens. We see them kind of like reunite
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: and everybody of the crease like we searched for you,
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: and Alvida is like you abandoned him, Like I mean,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: she made them do it, but she was like.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Righting, yes, okay, yes, thank you. Yeah, I completely forgot
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: about that. She's such a bitch. I love her. I'm
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: really bummed because it looks like they're gonna do the
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: like slim Slim Fruit or whatever it is. And I
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: was just hoping we weren't going to do this, and
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: here we are. Oh well, but it's just so the
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: I feel like I don't have a good sense of
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: her character quite yet, and I am I'm feeling a
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: little bit like Oda doesn't seem to know what to
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: do with her. You know. I kind of wish that
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: we got a bit more of her development. But he
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: doesn't seem very interested in female characters, you guys.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he just doesn't. And it is also like he
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: could do more with her, definitely, because I was about
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: to say at the beginning, maybe he did not know
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: how long this whole thing is going to go. And
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: she was like literally the first vial that we had. Yeah,
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: so I'm kind of glad that she's around for that,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: you know, but I think maybe Oda himself did like
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: with her in particular, not anything, and it was like, yeah,
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: she will be around, and yeah, so okay, we have
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: like ten minutes left, and.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, I would we were running short of time.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: Oh my god, I would like from you to here
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: this next island. We got a glimpse of it the toys,
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: what like, this is really what I want to here?
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: What do we expect?
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I am, I'm sure you do? You sick fox? What
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: is this? Oh my god? It was so funny because
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: I'm like I watched the episode at my desk while
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: I was eating lunch, and I'm eating and then we
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: get to the toys and I literally like put my
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: fork down and was just like like, oh, it's a
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: look of concern. And then the narrator says something like,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: while it may perplex outsiders, and I was like, yeah,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: it may. Perplex is a great word. Actually, what are
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: we doing? You have like inter racial marriage between women
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: and toys, and they have like half toy offspring, some abomination.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: This is the scariest island they have ever been to.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: This is a nightmarish I do not I am not
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: especially considering this is meant to be a long arc.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: I'm just gonna have to like figure out how to
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: get used to it, because it is deeply unsettling. You guys,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: how they're animated, and the fact that like some of
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: them they just kind of look like ordinary toys, Like
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: we've got the marionette soldier guy, but then there's like
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: the husband to the human woman, and his parts don't
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: even seem to connect. They seem to sort of float
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: free in this way. That's really it's kind of buggy.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Like.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: What I don't like it. It's like very horror movie
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: feeling for me. You know.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: It definitely has wipes of that, especially like if you
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: have to base this on a country up, not the toys,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: but like the setting, the briefings that we saw. What
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: country would you say is do you have I guess
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: or like an idea?
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Germany?
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Not really there's like a.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Nutcracker sort of energy to a lot of the animation,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't mean like the toys. It was
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: more like this got the food and the dress and
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: the dance how they dance there.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: It's also oh Spain, because there's definitely like what do
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: you call it flamenco dancing? I can't remember what they
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: said about the food, but okay, so Spain. But yeah,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: the toys they have a very like kind of didn't clockwork,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: almost like a Dutch sort of you know.
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: What I mean?
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: I can see that. But again it is like, as
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: you said, like kind of creepy because it is Spain,
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: is Spain influenced. It's like sunny and like happy in crowths,
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: like you know, like it's great, and then also the
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: toys are like happy. They are toys, but they're kind
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: of like you should not be walking and talking and
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: like be in marriage or whatever.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: It makes me so uncomfortable. I swear to God, I look,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: I'm not gonna kink shame you want to fuck toys,
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: That's a very common thing. People love to toys or
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: a big market in the kink stuff, and you know
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: there's plenty of people in There's a group on Facebook
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: actually that you can It's one of those tag groups
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: that you tag in a comment in response to something,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: and the group is just titled jokes on You I
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Fuck monsters. And so that's sort of the energy that
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: I can't pipe. That is just like a bunch of
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: people with a very specific fetish founded the island and
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: then put out all kinds of ads on various like
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: porn hub websites that were like, are these people not
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: quite wooden and or stuffed enough for you? Because if
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: that's what you're into, you should come and visit us.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Oh what is saying?
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Rings?
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: But then he gets tangled up, how do you function?
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: They're well designed for living the life.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: I don't know, Like I'm just gonna say, first time
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: seeing this, I actually had. I was just so excited
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: because it is so weird and we're so deep into
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: this series and we get like, I'm still like what
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: is going on? And I just loved this. Like every
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: new island that we get to, it's like, what is this?
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: And it is so I love the series for this.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: And it is remarkable how he keeps upping the weirdness quotes.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: Absolutely, and honestly, I was kind of like, I want
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: a toy in our ship. It was like gets I
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: was like, get a new crewmate, or get like a
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: pet toy.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: I don't know. I was so fascinated by this whole thing.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: I'm not going to tell you if it happens or not,
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: but just from the get go, I was kind of like,
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: but I want one. I want one, though, can we
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: take one home?
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Oh my god?
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: No.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: This is the sort of thing that like, as somebody
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: who has pets that frequently wake them up in the
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: middle of the night, if one of these woke me
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: up in the middle of the night, I would kill
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: it without hesitation. I wouldn't even think. I would just
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: be so fucking terrified. I would instantly crush it with
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: my hands and then be like, oh what have I done?
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: But it would be my own fault for inviting that
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: into my home. No, absolutely not.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: See that. It's fair. It's fair. I don't know, it's
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: just normally. I also don't do again it's horror, like
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: the dolls in horror movies. I don't like it. But
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: something something about this is I don't know, the whimsy
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: won me over in this get killed in the first
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: ten minutes of the movie. That is what I'm saying.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: I'd see what you mean with it. With the whimsy
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: of it. I feel like it's trying to do that
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: and maybe eventually it will work on me. Also, but
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: just from where I was currently sitting, I definitely felt
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: it was almost like the fact that all the toys
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: are so welcoming and happy, and that the place seems
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: so happy that it's like y'all are brainwashed. Something's wrong here.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: This is fucked up, you know, like my weirdness antenna
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: are already up, and so I start being like, no,
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: something about this whole place. There's something wrong here. And
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: also like I guess the if we're having sex with
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: toys and then having weird mixed toy human babies, then
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: I guess toys can just fuck each other and have
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: and give birth to other toys.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: How though, how though, like this doesn't work. I mean,
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: I'm just gonna ask you straight up what do you toys?
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: In general? How is it like other mate? Are there
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: like just another like race? In quotes? Like what's going
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: on here?
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Is this another vega punk thing? Because this man seems
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: to have his fingers all over everything, Like it's like
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: we just keep We're like on this weird trail where
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: there's been breadcrumbs dropped, but the bread crumbs are islands
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: filled with weird shit that he's done and just abandoned
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: and moved on. I hope a little bit that it
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: is him, because so much of the stuff that he
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: has done has seemed to be very destructive and terrible
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: that if he made a bunch of like happy living toys,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: this is probably one of the better things he's done.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: So that's a But it's one thing to be able
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: to make robots and stuff, and it's another thing to
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: make robots that can like pro create with humans. I
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: am sorry. I know that this is not something that
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: I need to be worrying about, and that the show
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: is probably not going to go to great lengths to
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: explain the like bodily functions in reproductive systems of these creatures,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: but I can't not be preoccupied with it in my
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: own head. That is wild shit that you introduced out
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: of the gate with his island. You show me a
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: woman and a giant toy man and their stroller with
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: a weird half baby in it. You can't expect me
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: to not like follow the rest of that thought.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's totally fine. Well, I mean, do you
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: have anything else to say about these episodes? Like, I'm
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: just gonna sum up the last part is actually just
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: they find a restaurant and go eating there, and there
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: seems to be like a blind guy that gets a
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: lot of camera time, so he probably will be important
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: maybe who knows.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this guy, it's like he has some ability
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: to tell, maybe by the sound of the ball and
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: the Roulette wheel or something, which color is going to
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: land on. And so everybody starts betting the same as him,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: which means that they are all winning a bunch of money,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: which I didn't think was really how it worked. But
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: I don't really know roulette, and they all are so
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: thankful to him that they give him a portion of
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: their winnings, and he's trying to insist that this is
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: all like, oh, I just happen to have a streak
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: of good luck, but I don't think that's it at all.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: And then you have some real scumbag who decides to
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: lie to a blind man and tell him, no, you
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: lost actually, and nobody is correcting him or stepping in
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: to be like he's lying to you. They're all just
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: watching this blind man get taken for all these worth.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: And the blind man, I thought, was like like understanding
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: that he was being played. But the more the scene
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: went on and the more frustrated, like genuinely frustrated he
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: seemed to get, I was like, oh, maybe not, maybe
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: he really thinks he's losing. And that changed his character
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: for me, because I really went into it thinking he
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: was a very sly sort of con man, and the
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: reaction he has here is like somebody who doesn't have
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: a deceptive bone in their body, you know. So, yeah,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: I don't know what to think of this guy. And
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: the episode like ends with him betting all his money
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: and the other guy betting all his money, and that's
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: where it ends. And it's so weird because this show
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: doesn't usually end an episode on characters that are not
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: our guys, except for like the big leaders. Sometimes you
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: know if they're about to like squear off or.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: Something definitely, and it did not really end on him.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: It like ended on the bed like like it was like, yes,
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: I mean no, of course he's involved, but you know
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: it is kind of like okay, but yeah, I know, Lufy, Soro, Sanji, Frankie,
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: and Kinemon are all there also in the restaurant, just
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: to make a brook chopper, Nami and Momo under the ship,
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: and Luisa, Robin and Trafalga bring Caesar to the meeting point.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: So that's right, right right, lid up right now, by
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: the way, just for the end, can I just I
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: mean you can if you have something else to say,
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: of course you can, but just like Trafolga, real quick, law,
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: what are your like thoughts? Haus? Yeah, what you know,
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: I just wanted to say no, because this is actually
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: his plan, you know, like like sure he is kind
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: of like became a pretty central figure in the story
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: all of us sudden, well all of a sudden, like
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: we knew him before. But I just wanted to hear,
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: like you, what do you like him? Are you interested
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: like in what his deal is?
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: It's sort of weird because like I started off very
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: interested in him, and honestly, a lot of that isn't
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: even the character, it's just because he looks like Daria's friend,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Jane's brother in the show Daria from MTV. Are you
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: familiar with Trent? Oh yeah, hold on, do you know
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: who I'm talking about?
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: Trent tells me something, yes, but nothing.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: I'm going to uh send you a link so that
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: you can speak, because I just googled him and like, yeah,
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: this is definitely the same energy. So for those of
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: you who are not into dudes and who are maybe
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: like way younger in my era when Daria was on television,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: there was Mary, a girl that liked men, that was
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: not crushing on this character. He was like a lot
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: of our like first cartoon crushes because he's just the
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: cool the best friend's cool brother. And it's very much
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: the same kind of like look as what Law has.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: So I was just like predisposed to be like a Law.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Oh dope, he looks like trend, Like, here's a cool guy.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: But the more that we have spent time around him,
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: the more that I'm like, you're kind of boring. Law.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: You have like a lot of a flash to the
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: look that you've got going on, and like your ability
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: is wild, but you yourself are such a straight man.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: He's almost giving sanjy or not Sanji Zoro, where he's
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: like just really it's like borderline irritated with everybody and
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: or bored most of the time, you know. So I'm
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: like wanting there to be more to him because I
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: just feel like You've got so much potential, bruh, and
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I am not getting what I was hoping to get
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: from you.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, we will allow see more, of course, Bop. I
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: just love in these episodes Sanchi makes sandwiches and like
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: everybody is like ignoring Law and then he just streams out,
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: but I don't like bread, and it is official orders
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: that Law does not eat bread.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: Remember to bring that up, because honestly, that was a
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: big moment for me of just being like what does
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: that mean? That is like you tell me you don't
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: like potatoes also, and I will straight up be like,
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: well then you are clearly a psychopath that needs to
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: be locked up.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Like yeah, but it is so great because it's like
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: the weird side of him that the straw had to
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: bring out. And that's also something that I love it for,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: you know, like I can get it that he Yeah,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: he's kind of like a dreamy boy. Also, I would
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: say for a lot of news, and I can get it.
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: He has like this cool wipe to him, you know, yeah,
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: he does.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: It's just like there's not a lot of substance behind it.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: To It's like the coolness is all wrapped up in
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: his look and the fact that he's like too cool
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: for school. But uh, there's not a lot about his
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: personality that I find like engaging or I was sort
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: of wanting him to be like, what's the word I want,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Like a bit of a daredevil, you know what I mean,
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: like somebody who was just out here doing like the
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: most dangerous version of whatever, not in the way that
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: Loofy does where it's like he's genuinely unaware of the danger,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: but like somebody who's like an adrenaline junkie and kind
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: of just like gets off on that, you know. And
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: I think that that's also part of like his look.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: I paint all over my hands. I didn't even notice
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: tell I did this, but his look gives me like
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: like early two thousands cool guy in late nineties cool guy,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: where cool guys all have like Pukachell necklaces and drink
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: energy drinks and spiked their hair and did stuff like snowboarding,
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: you know, and so I was wanting him to be
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: kind of that type of bro, and uh, he's just not.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: So I don't know. Long, give me some, give me some.
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we will have to wait and see.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so all right, I can't believe that, like we
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: really didn't talk about absolutely everything.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: But oh it's okay. And again, as I said, this
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: is like, especially in this last last episode, we will
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: be here for a while. I hope you don't consider
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: that as a spoiler, but I just wanted you to
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: know because I feel like it makes it more bearable.
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: And bearable is like so negative that.
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: No.
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: I get what you mean though, And I don't think
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: of that as a spoiler at all. Definitely not.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: So yeah. Yeah, but was there anything else that you
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: maybe wanted to mention about these episodes?
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to think, because I really think that there
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: were like a couple jokes that I found particularly. Oh
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: oh wait, here's this. There's this like one betrayal of
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: some some less than happy. So there are toys living
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: alongside humans. Oh god, I forgot about the guy with
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: a like toy girlfriend. But there's something where one of
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: the the toys tells Zoro that we have very passionate
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: women and they're the jealous type. If one of them
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: gets cheated on, for example, they things get a little violent.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: And when Zoro says a little, he says, the pretty
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: ones are especially stabby. So yeah, this is definitely giving like, oh,
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: the spicy Spanish girls, you know how passionate they are,
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: and then you know, chase you down the street with
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: a carving knife screaming at you.
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, it definitely is that. But I also
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: maybe this is problematic, but it is like a basically
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: trope taken to like it's part of the tradition in
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: this land. And then I'm like kind of like, okay,
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: that's kind of like it because it is so crazy,
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: you know, like for me at least. Yeah, in the
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: other stretosphere where it's like oh yeah we have like
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: once a year as stepping festival, Like okay, but.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there's like a few different things that I know.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: I stopped and like ellow world, and I just I
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: need to like start taking notes and stuff because usually
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: I can go through the episode and be reminded, but
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: sometimes I can't because things don't don't get like they're
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: not in the order that I thought they were in
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: my head, and I need to probably just start like
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: keeping track a little bit better so I can reference stuff.
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: I will maybe try to get you an other spreadsheet
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: together with characters for this arc can be helpful. Yeah,
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: since it is a longer one, we will have also
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: a lot of characters floating around. M Maybe I can
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: get to that. I will try my best.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: No pressure. If you can't do it, I totally get it,
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: but it would probably be helpful, So it's welcome if
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: you can. All right, Well, Sarah, thank you so much
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: for joining me. This was very fun.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: Oh, thank you for having me. It was a lot
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: of fun.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: I hope that you guys enjoyed listening and and just this.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: I'm really interested to see where we go from here.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: I am very very interested slash concern to see where
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: we go from here. My that was an unspoiled network.
