- 0:01While Humanity, embodies the development of the mental
- 0:04Consciousness in principle, it must be noted that this
- 0:08generalization does not apply specifically to each.
- 0:12And every human individual. Just as the field of Statistics,
- 0:17does not predict any single event and the observational
- 0:22experiments of quantum mechanics.
- 0:24Do not predict the movement of a specific Photon through an
- 0:28aperture. Yet in both cases, statistical
- 0:32or real-world distributions, are able to be predicted.
- 0:37So also the mental development does not imply that every person
- 0:43is in the same place in evolutionary terms, while we can
- 0:47conclude that the evolution of Mind occurs in human beings,
- 0:53This leads to some amount of confusion in terms of individual
- 0:57growth and development due to the wide range of human
- 1:01development. There are programs and practices
- 1:04that are supportive of the development of the core
- 1:07competencies of Mind, life, and body, and the development and
- 1:11strengthening of the ego personality.
- 1:15As well as programs and practices focused on the
- 1:18Transcendence of the ego and the development of the spiritual
- 1:22consciousness. With a variety of focus areas
- 1:26determined by individual development personality and
- 1:30aspirations. The first group is identified by
- 1:34dr. Dalal as focused on personal
- 1:36growth, the second on inner growth.
- 1:41In today's society, these two directions are often lumped
- 1:44together under some kind of personal growth, rubric it is
- 1:48thus easy to become disoriented when trying to figure out how to
- 1:53move forward in one's own life. One-size-fits-all definitely
- 1:58does not work. So each individual needs to
- 2:02understand the source and direction of his own aspiration
- 2:06and the initial starting point from which the growth needs to
- 2:09occur. Those who need to develop the
- 2:12basic skills of body life and mind and the interaction with
- 2:17Society, will likely find it best to focus on the personal
- 2:21growth side of things, those who have already developed a strong
- 2:26personality and who feel that the Fulfillment offered by the
- 2:30world is simply not enough to satisfy their deeper seeking
- 2:35will likely turn to Inner growth practices.
- 2:39Dr. Dalal observes quote, most of what is today, called
- 2:43personal growth aimed at by various psychotherapeutic,
- 2:47approaches such as transactional analysis, Gestalt therapy,
- 2:51rational emotive therapy Etc, and by the various techniques
- 2:57associated with the human potential movement such as
- 3:01encounter group, sensitivity, training assertiveness, training
- 3:05Etc, pertain to what has just been above is the development of
- 3:10the ego and individuality on the other hand inner growth aimed at
- 3:16by eastern and western spiritual approaches such as yoga, Zen
- 3:22Sufism, Christian mysticism, Etc, consists of transpersonal
- 3:27development, beyond the ego State, and represent a total
- 3:33reversal of the normal ego bound state of consciousness.
- 3:38It is therefore imperative to distinguish between personal
- 3:42growth and inner growth, and quote, reference SRI aurobindo,
- 3:48and the mother growing within the psychology of inner
