- 0:11Speaker 1: Kids.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's the good reboard Anthony Albneazi.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Today did's something that is shameful, useless and lethally dangerous
- 0:21Speaker 3: is given Hamas terrorists a huge win. Our Prime Minister
- 0:24Speaker 3: announced that Australia would recognize a Palestinian state, something that
- 0:29Speaker 3: is cheered by the Hamas terrorist group.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Today, I can confirm that at the eightieth Session of
- 0:36Speaker 4: the United Nations General Assembly in September, Australia will recognize
- 0:41Speaker 4: the state of Palestine. Australia will recognize the ride of
- 0:45Speaker 4: the Palestinian people to a state of their own, predicated
- 0:50Speaker 4: on the commitments Australia has received from the Palestinian authority.
- 0:56Speaker 3: As I said, cheered by the Hamas terrorist group two
- 1:00Speaker 3: weeks ago. Both of that recognition proved it was right
- 1:04Speaker 3: to slaughter twelve hundred Israelis on October sevent two years
- 1:07Speaker 3: ago and to hold Jewish hostages.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Even now, I think.
- 1:12Speaker 5: By Sir Willok said Philosinealian Governess about oktober Dolla Pilostine
- 1:22Speaker 5: Albanese's announcement will just make he must feel stronger. Already,
- 1:25Speaker 5: all this talk about recognition by a couple of other
- 1:27Speaker 5: like minded countries has had it walk away from peace
- 1:30Speaker 5: talks and it's refusing now to release the twenty living
- 1:33Speaker 5: hostages it still holds.
- 1:36Speaker 2: But Albenz he said.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Today, well, don't worry Hamas, which already controls the Gaza
- 1:41Speaker 3: part of this supposed state. The Palestinian authority runs the
- 1:44Speaker 3: West Bank. It won't be allowed to run anything in
- 1:47Speaker 3: this new Palestinian state that Albanese is talking about.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Our government has made it clear that there can be
- 1:55Speaker 4: no role for the terrorists of Hamas in any future
- 1:59Speaker 4: Palestinia in state. This is one of the commitments Australia
- 2:03Speaker 4: has sought and received from President of Bus and the
- 2:06Speaker 4: Palestinian Authority.
- 2:09Speaker 3: This man must be an absolute idiot. How are you,
- 2:12Speaker 3: Anthony Albanesi, going to stop AROMAUS from taking over this
- 2:17Speaker 3: Palestinian state? Are you going to send soldiers? Because no
- 2:21Speaker 3: other country except Israel is prepared to stop from us.
- 2:26Speaker 3: This is just pure fantasy that somehow Australia, recognizing Israel,
- 2:30Speaker 3: is going to force us to lay down its weapons
- 2:33Speaker 3: and release the hostages and just go away.
- 2:38Speaker 2: All that Albinizi is going.
- 2:40Speaker 3: By is a promise that he got from the president
- 2:44Speaker 3: of this Palestinian authority. The controls of West Bank, Marmudebas.
- 2:48Speaker 3: This marmude Bas promises Albanesi that this Palestinian state, that
- 2:54Speaker 3: his Palestinian authority is going to stop now paying pensions
- 2:57Speaker 3: for terrorists who killed Jews, it will stop being so corrupt,
- 3:01Speaker 3: it will stop preaching due hatred, and it's going to
- 3:05Speaker 3: run his Palatinian state for him, and alban Easy trusts him.
- 3:10Speaker 4: The Palestinian authority has reaffirmed it recognizes Israel's right to
- 3:15Speaker 4: exist in peace and security. It has committed to demilitarize
- 3:21Speaker 4: and to hold general elections. It has pledged to abolish
- 3:25Speaker 4: the system of payments to the families of prisoners and martyrs.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Did you hear that that last word? Albani is he
- 3:33Speaker 3: even called terrorists martyrs. He actually uses the terrorists own
- 3:39Speaker 3: labels for them.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I mean, this is just astonishing.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But I can't tell you exactly how dumb a naive's
- 3:47Speaker 3: plan is, or maybe he's just being dishonest. I do
- 3:50Speaker 3: not know, you, Judge, Alvin easy As you just heard,
- 3:55Speaker 3: is relying on the word of the Palestinian authority to
- 3:59Speaker 3: do all this because he's going to recognize Israel the
- 4:03Speaker 3: Palaestinian state in a month. So it's just on a promise, right,
- 4:07Speaker 3: This Palastinian authority he trusts to honor its promises, This
- 4:12Speaker 3: Palestinian authority controlled by Malmoud Abbas's Fatah party. He says,
- 4:18Speaker 3: Abbas promises that Hamas is not gonna have any role
- 4:21Speaker 3: in this Palatinian state. But Fatar and Hamas actually last
- 4:25Speaker 3: year signed a deal with China that they would share power.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Albert Izi also says a muss also promised him in
- 4:34Speaker 3: hold elections, but Abbas hasn't held an election in twenty
- 4:37Speaker 3: years for the simple reason that he and his fat
- 4:41Speaker 3: party are so hated. They're so corrupt that the latest
- 4:45Speaker 3: poll by the respected Palatinian Center for Policy and Survey
- 4:48Speaker 3: of Research shows forty three percent of Palestinians would vote
- 4:53Speaker 3: for Hamas in an election and just twenty eight percent
- 4:57Speaker 3: for Fata, the rest undecided. In the authority promising elections,
- 5:01Speaker 3: Albinizi should be praying that they break that promise, because
- 5:05Speaker 3: his Palestinian state would quickly become a terrorist state and
- 5:11Speaker 3: probably will anyway. I mean, really, if a bas and
- 5:14Speaker 3: Heta really do manage to stop a US and run
- 5:18Speaker 3: Albanize's Palatinian state like he wants is that any better?
- 5:23Speaker 3: Mamoudabas President Palising the authority himself is actually such a
- 5:28Speaker 3: Jew hater that in Arabic he defends or excuses Hitler's
- 5:33Speaker 3: mass murder of six million Jews, says hit that didn't
- 5:36Speaker 3: kill them because of his anti Semite.
- 5:46Speaker 2: La ka.
- 5:57Speaker 3: This is the man that Albiniz he wants in charge
- 6:00Speaker 3: of his Palestinian state. This is the man whose promises
- 6:05Speaker 3: Alban Easy is taking to the bank.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I can't believe it. And if Abus breaks.
- 6:13Speaker 3: These promises of democracy and I've stopped a mass and
- 6:18Speaker 3: all this, if he breaks those promises, well, oh, foreign Minister,
- 6:22Speaker 3: the penny won't dodge that question about the wider If
- 6:24Speaker 3: he does, we're asked today because this government has no
- 6:28Speaker 3: plan at all just.
- 6:31Speaker 6: On there's no situation in which we would revoke that
- 6:34Speaker 6: recognition now that it's.
- 6:35Speaker 7: Been our expectation is the international community will work with
- 6:39Speaker 7: all parties to ensure not only do those commitments are
- 6:43Speaker 7: adhered to, but there is progress towards two states.
- 6:46Speaker 3: When is his plans so pain in the sky that
- 6:49Speaker 3: hasn't even told us what borders this Palaestinian state would have?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Is it the borders? Now?
- 6:55Speaker 3: Is it the borders in nineteen sixty seven that many
- 6:57Speaker 3: demand that would have Jerusalem virtualists surrounded by hostile Palestinian territory,
- 7:02Speaker 3: make Israel essentially undefendable. Now this is important because Israel,
- 7:07Speaker 3: in fact three times offered the Palestinians a state three
- 7:13Speaker 3: times and would turn down each time precisely because the
- 7:17Speaker 3: Palestinians could not agree to borders. In fact, they couldn't
- 7:21Speaker 3: agree to let Israel even exist. And that's why there
- 7:25Speaker 3: is no peace in the Middle East. It's not because
- 7:27Speaker 3: Israel is bad, it's because Israel exists. So no wonder
- 7:33Speaker 3: that Israel's Prime Minister of Benjamin you know who's scathing
- 7:36Speaker 3: of Australia today having been or yesterday, having been warned
- 7:39Speaker 3: already what Albanezi was about to announce.
- 7:43Speaker 1: To have the European countries and Australia march into that,
- 7:48Speaker 1: march into that rabbit hole just like that, fall right
- 7:51Speaker 1: into it. And by this Canard is disappointing, and I
- 7:58Speaker 1: think it's actually shameful.
- 8:01Speaker 3: And yeah, I also hinted the real problem. I mean,
- 8:04Speaker 3: Netanyah is trying to save Israel, but for real, bit easy,
- 8:07Speaker 3: this is not about security, It's not about Israel. This
- 8:11Speaker 3: hypocrite is just playing domestic politics, is pitching for the
- 8:16Speaker 3: votes of the left and of the big Muslim community.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Here.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Those who say that Israel has a right to defend
- 8:22Speaker 1: itself are also saying, but don't exercise that right when
- 8:25Speaker 1: we do what any country we do face with this
- 8:27Speaker 1: genocidal terrorist organization that has performed the worst attack on
- 8:32Speaker 1: Jews since the Holocaust. I think we're actually applying force judiciously,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and they know it. They know what they would do
- 8:39Speaker 1: if right next to Melbourne or right next to Sydney
- 8:43Speaker 1: you had this horrific attacks. I think you would do
- 8:47Speaker 1: it at least what we're doing, probably maybe not as
- 8:50Speaker 1: efficiently and as as precisely as we're doing it.
- 8:55Speaker 3: And that public opinion has been shaped in part by
- 8:59Speaker 3: amass propagand there repeated credulously by so many media outlets
- 9:04Speaker 3: and politicians, including Albinizi himself. Nan Ya, who actually gave
- 9:08Speaker 3: three examples in the Big Press briefing yesterday, including one
- 9:11Speaker 3: that I've mentioned here, and it's one that Albinizi himself
- 9:14Speaker 3: fell for.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You're falsely claiming Israel was deliberately starving Palestinians.
- 9:22Speaker 1: International press has bot Hooklein and sinker, Ramas statistics, Ramas claims,
- 9:27Speaker 1: Ramas forgeries, and Hamas photographs. For example, these three children.
- 9:33Speaker 1: The first one is OSAMAI Rakub. He is in Italy
- 9:37Speaker 1: getting treatment because Israel got him out. That's what he
- 9:40Speaker 1: looks like today.
- 9:42Speaker 2: He has.
- 9:45Speaker 1: A genetic disease that damages the lungs and digestive system.
- 9:50Speaker 1: It makes it hard to absorb nutrients and gain weight. Okay,
- 9:54Speaker 1: so Israel facilitated Osama's traveled to Italy where he got
- 10:01Speaker 1: the medical aid that transformed his position. The second one
- 10:05Speaker 1: is abdul Ka. He suffered from a genetic neurological disorder
- 10:10Speaker 1: spinal muscular atrophy, a degenerative condition that causes muscle weak wasting, weakness,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and severe weight loss, unrelated to nutrition. This was the
- 10:20Speaker 1: real cause of his frail appearance, not starvation. In fact,
- 10:23Speaker 1: he was treated in Israel in twenty eighteen. Doesn't help
- 10:26Speaker 1: because it's it's a congenital disease and it defies well
- 10:31Speaker 1: defies most treatment, at least. The third one is the
- 10:34Speaker 1: most celebrated one. This is a New York Time cover photo.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It's on the front page of Muhammed Zakaria. Ayub and
- 10:45Speaker 1: his mother mhmmad Zakaria a yub is suffering from a
- 10:51Speaker 1: genetic illness which you're familiar with. It's called cerebro palsy.
- 10:54Speaker 1: His mother is well fed and his brother is healthy.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm looking right now into the possibility of a governmental
- 11:02Speaker 1: suit against The New York Times because this is outrageous.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Of course, the correction was postage size. I don't know
- 11:06Speaker 1: where it was buried, but this is outrageous. These are
- 11:09Speaker 1: the three most celebrated photos an off take.
- 11:14Speaker 3: The last example is one that Albanize himself publicly cited
- 11:18Speaker 3: as evidence of Israel's supposedly starving Palestinine children's deaf. But
- 11:23Speaker 3: he's always been of the tribal left and was always
- 11:25Speaker 3: disposed to believe the worst of Israel attacking it as
- 11:28Speaker 3: a rally twenty five years ago when it was again
- 11:31Speaker 3: under attack. Back then, Albanize earleast thought the UN, maybe
- 11:44Speaker 3: even Australia should maybe send peacekeepers to end the fighting.
- 11:48Speaker 3: But this time he doesn't even dare suggest that, because
- 11:51Speaker 3: no one wants to send soldiers to confront the terrorists
- 11:54Speaker 3: attacking Israel. Only Israel is doing that, and Albanese has
- 11:59Speaker 3: just punished it for defending itself. But he's got absolutely
- 12:02Speaker 3: no plan himself to stop a mask, no plan to
- 12:06Speaker 3: release the hostages, no plan to bring real peace. All
- 12:09Speaker 3: is done is attack Israel instead and make him us
- 12:12Speaker 3: stronger with his useless plan to recognize a Palestinian state
- 12:16Speaker 3: that will be run by crooks and terrorists or both.
- 12:20Speaker 3: And the fighting will not stop just because ALBINIZI is
- 12:23Speaker 3: recognizing Palestinian state a must won't And then yeah, who
- 12:27Speaker 3: said he won't either, not until the hostages are free?
- 12:31Speaker 3: So how stupid, how reckless? Can our show boating government be.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Joining me?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Is the country's top foreign affairs writer, Greg Sheridan of
- 12:44Speaker 3: The Australian.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Greg good to see you.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Anthony Albanezi says recognizing a Palaestinian state will bring the
- 12:51Speaker 3: Middle East closer to peace?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Is he right?
- 12:55Speaker 8: Well, Andrew, great to be with you.
- 12:57Speaker 5: No.
- 12:58Speaker 8: I think this is a ridiculous decision. But in a sense,
- 13:01Speaker 8: if I can remember the phrase, it's not only wrong.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It's a mistake.
- 13:06Speaker 8: I mean, there's I mean, all the political points against
- 13:09Speaker 8: it are true. Dave Shama, the former ambassador to Israel,
- 13:12Speaker 8: and many many others point out this strengthens Hammas Marco
- 13:16Speaker 8: Rubio said the Deave France announced recognition of Palestine Hamas
- 13:21Speaker 8: walked away from ceasefire talks that had looked promising. Britain
- 13:25Speaker 8: demands that Israel agreed to a ceasefire, but Hummas's conditions
- 13:30Speaker 8: for a ceasefire now are insane. No Israeli government could
- 13:32Speaker 8: agree to them. So I agree with all of that,
- 13:35Speaker 8: but there's an ancedent point. You don't recognize a new
- 13:39Speaker 8: state until the new state exists. This when what is
- 13:46Speaker 8: now the Republic of Ireland became the Irish Free State
- 13:49Speaker 8: in nineteen twenty two, it was negotiated between the Irish
- 13:53Speaker 8: and the British, and the international community recognized it to
- 13:56Speaker 8: ratify the negotiation. But you didn't have some dumb cluck
- 14:01Speaker 8: interfering dope nation like Australia determining what the borders of
- 14:05Speaker 8: the Irish Free State would be in advance and then
- 14:08Speaker 8: recognizing that this is much more akin to recognizing a
- 14:12Speaker 8: government in exile, which is a futile and silly gesture,
- 14:16Speaker 8: which we've essued. I mean to take another example, China
- 14:20Speaker 8: invaded Tibet in the nineteen fifties. There is a Tibetan
- 14:23Speaker 8: government in exile, which I think rightly claims to speak
- 14:26Speaker 8: for the Tibetan people. Are the Tibetan people less entitled
- 14:29Speaker 8: to a state than the Palestinians, Yet no one suggests
- 14:33Speaker 8: we recognize a Tibetan government in exile, So it's a
- 14:39Speaker 8: kind of it's a complete nonsense. You know, the Soviet
- 14:42Speaker 8: Union recognized the Palestinian state decades ago, and it hasn't
- 14:46Speaker 8: resulted in a Palestinian state coming into existence. And what
- 14:50Speaker 8: this is weak left wing leaders Starmer and Macron, and
- 14:55Speaker 8: a weak fashion amongst left wing leaders who can't confront
- 15:00Speaker 8: their own politics. This has nothing to do with the
- 15:02Speaker 8: future of Gaza City or Bethlehem or Ramala. It has
- 15:06Speaker 8: everything to do with the future of Marrickville and Northcott
- 15:09Speaker 8: and Liverpool and broad Meadows.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I think that last point is absolutely spot on. How
- 15:16Speaker 3: many he says her must won't be allowed any role
- 15:19Speaker 3: in this new Palestinian state, even though Fatah and Hamasa stigned.
- 15:23Speaker 2: To deal with China that it would.
- 15:26Speaker 3: But he also says there must be elections when the
- 15:29Speaker 3: polls show Hamas is actually the most popular party. How
- 15:32Speaker 3: can he stop terrorists taking over this state?
- 15:37Speaker 2: Well, of course he can't.
- 15:38Speaker 8: I mean, everything our Prime Minister says on this is
- 15:40Speaker 8: just ridiculous and it's closed in raiments of self righteous pomposity.
- 15:46Speaker 8: And this is truly undergraduate politics. You know, this is
- 15:50Speaker 8: the nineteen year old first year art students who says,
- 15:54Speaker 8: I know what we need. What we need is a
- 15:56Speaker 8: Palestinian state, so let's just do it. Whereas as we know,
- 16:00Speaker 8: the Palestinian have been offered a state four times, very seriously,
- 16:03Speaker 8: on very generous terms. They can never abandon the right
- 16:08Speaker 8: of return, under which six or seven million Palestinian descendants
- 16:12Speaker 8: and relatives would be allowed to live in Israel proper,
- 16:14Speaker 8: not the Palestinian state. They can never accept the nineteen
- 16:18Speaker 8: sixty seven borders with land swaps for a couple of
- 16:21Speaker 8: settlements around Jerusalem, and they can never come to an
- 16:24Speaker 8: agreement on the status of Jerusalem. Now, those are the
- 16:28Speaker 8: final status issues. And the reason they won't come to
- 16:31Speaker 8: agreement on any of those issues is because they're scared
- 16:34Speaker 8: of a state.
- 16:35Speaker 2: If they had a.
- 16:35Speaker 8: State, anyone, any Palestinian leader who agreed to a state
- 16:39Speaker 8: under those terms and an end of all claims against
- 16:42Speaker 8: Israel would be assassinated.
- 16:44Speaker 2: By his own extremists.
- 16:46Speaker 8: And as you say, the idea that Hummas wouldn't win
- 16:50Speaker 8: an election, so you say, Hummas must have no role.
- 16:54Speaker 8: So even if through some miracle this were to be honored.
- 16:59Speaker 8: So what you get then is the new party called
- 17:02Speaker 8: I don't know that the Friday g Had Party in
- 17:05Speaker 8: honor of Hummas and that wins the election, and then
- 17:09Speaker 8: what do you do then? I mean, the whole thing
- 17:11Speaker 8: is just ridiculous. Then these are issues for Israel and
- 17:14Speaker 8: the Palestinians to negotiate.
- 17:17Speaker 3: It's so astonishingly absurd and dangerous, lethally dangerous. As I said,
- 17:24Speaker 3: Greg Charan, thank you so much for your time after
- 17:29Speaker 3: the break, I mean, we've got to talk about what
- 17:32Speaker 3: is the politics that's driving over an easy and speaking
- 17:35Speaker 3: of politics, where was the opposition leader today? The panel
- 17:38Speaker 3: after this, It's bizarre to see our prominises spend so
- 17:46Speaker 3: much time and energy and even put it risk. Our
- 17:51Speaker 3: alliance with America will at least damage it to make
- 17:56Speaker 3: a useless gesture on Palestine when we have so many
- 17:59Speaker 3: problem right here he could be fixing instead. I mean
- 18:02Speaker 3: rising dead Australians, getting poorer, power prices, too high, average
- 18:06Speaker 3: Litt dysfunction immigration out of control, but as Gaza Gaza
- 18:09Speaker 3: gaza and how Albinizi will recognize a Palatine state Johnny's
- 18:14Speaker 3: the Panel, Michael Danby, former Labor MP, and Stephen Conroy
- 18:17Speaker 3: form a Labor senator and Cavinet Michael Danby, why do
- 18:21Speaker 3: you think Albernizi has done this? Is it really to
- 18:23Speaker 3: bring peace of the Middle East? Or to win votes
- 18:25Speaker 3: in Australia.
- 18:27Speaker 9: The Socialist Left which Albo is the head of, is
- 18:31Speaker 9: what it appears to be. This is a boyhood fantasy
- 18:36Speaker 9: of elbows to recognize the Palestinian cause and triumph over Israel.
- 18:42Speaker 9: So by a whole series of events he became Prime Minister.
- 18:46Speaker 9: And of course it's about pre selection votes even more
- 18:49Speaker 9: important than actual votes in Western suburb seats, to make
- 18:54Speaker 9: sure that certain people get up who support the Islamist
- 18:58Speaker 9: point of views.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Stephen Conry, where's the Labor right in this?
- 19:03Speaker 3: You're of the Labor right. You're so extremely influential there.
- 19:07Speaker 3: It was always so pro Israel from Bob hawk on.
- 19:11Speaker 3: How they all changed their minds or just shut their mouths.
- 19:16Speaker 10: No, I think, firstly, I appreciate the characterization of my
- 19:20Speaker 10: ongoing influencer more of a feather dufter than a rooster
- 19:25Speaker 10: in today's world.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I've seen Michael of the clients. Oh my goodness.
- 19:31Speaker 10: No, Michael is a very dear friend of mine, and
- 19:35Speaker 10: it's not often I'm going to disagree with him. But
- 19:39Speaker 10: Michael Stark got to stop pretending, and you do. Frankly, Andrew,
- 19:43Speaker 10: you are speaking on behalf of the people of Israel,
- 19:46Speaker 10: hundreds of thousands, and you've never mentioned this once speaking
- 19:49Speaker 10: either of myself. Hundreds of thousands of people marched in
- 19:55Speaker 10: Jerusalem and Tel Aviv against this ongoing war and this
- 19:59Speaker 10: announcement of the annexation of Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of
- 20:04Speaker 10: Israelis in Israel.
- 20:07Speaker 2: So you've got to.
- 20:08Speaker 10: Stop pretending you are speaking on behalf of them, or
- 20:10Speaker 10: Michael is speaking half of those.
- 20:14Speaker 3: In my mouth again with your straw men, mate, I
- 20:18Speaker 3: don't no straw men here attributed.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Hundreds of thousands of from the Raeli Michael.
- 20:25Speaker 3: You're absolutely correct, Michael, hundreds of thousands of Israelis. But
- 20:29Speaker 3: if you put it to the vote, should the Palatine
- 20:32Speaker 3: state be recognized? It was put to the vote of
- 20:34Speaker 3: the Kinnesseant, and I think it was something that I
- 20:37Speaker 3: don't remember the figures ninety two nine.
- 20:40Speaker 2: No, I mean, what's going on here.
- 20:43Speaker 9: Stay's right that people can disagree with detO and some
- 20:46Speaker 9: of them are in the streets, but none of them
- 20:48Speaker 9: support are muss. None of them support Elbow's plan to
- 20:52Speaker 9: recognize the Palestinian state without any concessions on borders or
- 20:56Speaker 9: the Nazi education that UNRA gives these poor Palestinians in
- 21:01Speaker 9: the West Bank and Gaza, without discussions about all of
- 21:04Speaker 9: these as Bob Hawk and Kim Beasley and Bill Shorten
- 21:08Speaker 9: and Julia Gillard and labor giants that used to stride
- 21:11Speaker 9: this land all insisted it has to be negotiated by
- 21:15Speaker 9: the parties. It is a fantasy for Albow or Wong,
- 21:20Speaker 9: or mccron or Starmer to dictate from Ottawa, London, Paris
- 21:25Speaker 9: and Canberra what the boundaries are going to be and
- 21:28Speaker 9: what the Israelis have to do. The Palestinians have to
- 21:31Speaker 9: stop there in transigence and negotiate with the Israelis. There
- 21:35Speaker 9: has to be elections after an extensive program of denartification
- 21:40Speaker 9: in Gaza and the West Bank. And Israelis could disagree
- 21:44Speaker 9: with Nasonial as much as they like, but they are
- 21:46Speaker 9: very doubtful about this extreme Palestinian point of view that
- 21:50Speaker 9: Elbow seems to be completely blithe about.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I saw the coalition immediately criticize this, or at least
- 21:58Speaker 3: spokesman Angus Taylor here he is, this.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Is rewarding terrorists, this is a reward to her mask
- 22:05Speaker 6: for what they started on October seven.
- 22:08Speaker 2: That's it's a dreadful president well said.
- 22:11Speaker 3: But where was the opposition leader, Susan Lee. I mean
- 22:13Speaker 3: she put out a press statement, did appear on two GB,
- 22:16Speaker 3: but apart from that, I haven't seen her. I mean,
- 22:19Speaker 3: this would have been big. I would have thought to
- 22:21Speaker 3: deserve the press conference. Stephen, what's this.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Way?
- 22:26Speaker 10: Look, I was surprised. Now, look, I was surprised that
- 22:30Speaker 10: this is. You know, when you're responding to the Prime
- 22:33Speaker 10: minister's statement, you would normally expect the leader of the opposition.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I mean, she.
- 22:39Speaker 10: Does herself have a colorful past on this issue. She
- 22:43Speaker 10: was part of the Friends of Palestine and not that
- 22:48Speaker 10: long ago. But I don't hear a ferocious criticism of
- 22:52Speaker 10: her for that. She says she's entitled to change her mind.
- 22:56Speaker 10: But I think you make a very fair point. I mean,
- 22:58Speaker 10: they said the defense spokesperson and I think I saw
- 23:01Speaker 10: my Kayla cash up. But Susan Lay should have fronted
- 23:05Speaker 10: up and had a discussion about this. I have no problem.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Wasn't just those alternate point and yeah, look it was
- 23:16Speaker 2: also Andrew Hasty.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Andrew Hasty, I think on Sky News Michael Andrew Hasty
- 23:23Speaker 3: the opposition's Home Affairs spokesman, and.
- 23:26Speaker 9: Let's cut to the chase. Susan Lay is a dud.
- 23:30Speaker 9: She may be a nice woman, but she has not
- 23:33Speaker 9: none of the inner mongrel you need to be a
- 23:36Speaker 9: leader like Keating or Howard. They were to cut to
- 23:41Speaker 9: the chase and draft Hasty straight away.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Well, I think you make a point there. Look I've
- 23:50Speaker 3: said give her time, but I have to say that
- 23:53Speaker 3: for Andrew Hasty and Angus Taylor and all that to
- 23:59Speaker 3: go front and when it's not actually their portfolio area.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Hasty even yesterday is the Home Affairs spotsman went on
- 24:06Speaker 3: SCO News again and both urge the Liberals to dunt
- 24:09Speaker 3: the net zero claimate policies and said it'd like to
- 24:12Speaker 3: be the Liberal leader sometimes.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Here's his double whammy.
- 24:15Speaker 6: Should we transfer our heavy industry Australian jobs offshore? Should
- 24:21Speaker 6: we demand that the Australian people pay more for their
- 24:24Speaker 6: power bills. I'm not going to lie to you, and
- 24:25Speaker 6: so I don't have any ambition to lead. Of course
- 24:27Speaker 6: I do. But timing in politics is everything, and right
- 24:30Speaker 6: now Susan Lee is our leader.
- 24:32Speaker 2: But right now Susan Lee is their leader. Stephen right now.
- 24:36Speaker 10: Is long long, Well's not right now exactly.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Look.
- 24:45Speaker 10: Look, I'm the great admirer of andre I think he's
- 24:48Speaker 10: done incredible things for this country. He's got courage and
- 24:51Speaker 10: moral clarity, and I think one day he may be
- 24:56Speaker 10: a fantastic leader for the Liberal Party, and one day
- 25:00Speaker 10: that far away. But in terms of his arguments around
- 25:05Speaker 10: zero energy prices, if he wants to lead the Liberal
- 25:08Speaker 10: Party into the sort of oblivion that they're currently in,
- 25:12Speaker 10: a champion that of oblivion. Look, I hope he's smarter
- 25:15Speaker 10: than that. You pitch to the right and then you
- 25:18Speaker 10: move to the center. He pitched to the left and
- 25:20Speaker 10: you move to the center. These are the normal part
- 25:23Speaker 10: of Australian politics because you have to govern from the center.
- 25:25Speaker 10: Our electoral system insures were not captured by the two
- 25:29Speaker 10: extremes that you see in other countries around the world.
- 25:33Speaker 10: So look, I hope Andrew's ambitions are one day fulfilled,
- 25:38Speaker 10: and said, I have great admiration for him, but I
- 25:42Speaker 10: think he's running off on the wrong track on some
- 25:45Speaker 10: of those policy issues that he's championing.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I think net zero is going to really really come
- 25:52Speaker 3: to hurt this coind Prices forget the Labor Party, but
- 25:55Speaker 3: it be a question of time, sorry, Michael Steep.
- 26:00Speaker 9: Prices have to get before we change, at least along
- 26:03Speaker 9: lines of the British Labor Party.
- 26:05Speaker 2: That's not too extreme.
- 26:08Speaker 9: They've dropped next Zerus.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Margo Smelter now pressure saying that it's probably going to
- 26:14Speaker 3: I'm not sure, guys, are matter of time.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 26:18Speaker 10: Government funded Michael six hundred billion dollars sorry.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Michael, Yeah, Michael, Dani Stephen Connor, thank you very much
- 26:26Speaker 3: for your time.
- 26:27Speaker 2: That's it from now. It's actually a short show tonight.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Because coming up now is Sky News's exclusive program The
- 26:33Speaker 3: War Candidate, presented by political contributor Chris Yulman, who We're
- 26:36Speaker 3: looking at some of the issues that have really concerned
- 26:39Speaker 3: us on this show about how prepared we are for
- 26:43Speaker 3: this really uncertain world now, particularly with China threatening war
- 26:47Speaker 3: and stick around for Sherry at the later time of
- 26:49Speaker 3: eight thirty good Night,
