- 1:32Speaker 1: do that? Why do you want to be a part
- 1:34Speaker 1: of this community? Well, because in this community we believe
- 1:38Speaker 1: that the ungrafted word is able to save our souls.
- 1:42Speaker 1: We work out the word of God. You know, we
- 1:45Speaker 1: don't just try to put extra stuff into it. We
- 1:48Speaker 1: just want to know God's word and what did God
- 1:51Speaker 1: say as simple as that, right, as simple as that,
- 1:56Speaker 1: we're just bringing down God's word and we're learning how
- 1:59Speaker 1: to apply to our lives and also how to hold
- 2:03Speaker 1: each other accountable. Call us your small Bible study group
- 2:08Speaker 1: on the radio station, or you can say that we
- 2:11Speaker 1: are going down that narrow road together. That narrow path
- 2:15Speaker 1: is difficult and there are a few who find it.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So yeah, that's what we do. That's what it is.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So we want to thank y'all for being a part
- 2:28Speaker 1: of this episode. And with that, that's good. Before our

- 2:54Speaker 1: ask a God that you will use this to reach
- 2:57Speaker 1: those who are lost, O God, our brothers and sisters
- 3:02Speaker 1: out there, Lord, who are still trying to make their
- 3:04Speaker 1: way home. Oh God, let this be a night light,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Let this be a beacon of light. Lord, let this
- 3:10Speaker 1: be away, Oh God, to call the men. Lord, And
- 3:16Speaker 1: we asked this in Jesus' name, Amen and amen, all right,
- 3:24Speaker 1: all right, Like I said, once again, thank y'all for
- 3:27Speaker 1: joining us. This is his Hot Radio podcast. Download the
- 3:32Speaker 1: app his Hot Radio on all platforms, so check out
- 3:34Speaker 1: our website his Hot Nation dot com. Now we've been
- 3:39Speaker 1: walking verse by versus the Book of Acts. Our last
- 3:44Speaker 1: episode we saw Paul cast a demon out of a
- 3:47Speaker 1: slave girl who was being exploited for profit. But today's
- 3:54Speaker 1: passage passage, excuse me, shows what happens when freedom threatens
- 4:01Speaker 1: the system that profits from bondage. This is gonna be
- 4:08Speaker 1: a good one. There are so many systems in our
- 4:13Speaker 1: society today that profit off of bondage. The first thing
- 4:19Speaker 1: that comes to mind is the sex trafficking industry. It
- 4:24Speaker 1: is so sad, It is so horrible that an industry
- 4:27Speaker 1: like this can thrive. No one should give this type
- 4:34Speaker 1: of industry one penny. But I believe that the corruption
- 4:38Speaker 1: goes up so far like it will blow our minds,
- 4:44Speaker 1: you know. But the Lord knows. Hallelujah, He sees, and
- 4:50Speaker 1: it's sad. And this young girl is getting exploited for profits.
- 4:55Speaker 1: She's got a whole demon in her and they can
- 4:59Speaker 1: care less about her soul this as long as she
- 5:02Speaker 1: is making them some money. Man. So we're gonna pick
- 5:08Speaker 1: it up in Acts, chapter sixteen, verse twenty through twenty four,
- 5:13Speaker 1: coming at you from the new King James so verse twenty.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And they brought them to the magistrates and said, these men,
- 5:24Speaker 1: being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city. Now after the demon
- 5:34Speaker 1: was cast out of this poor slave girls or mean
- 5:39Speaker 1: slave girl, not plural, this poor slave girl. They lost
- 5:45Speaker 1: their income and that's all they cared about. And the
- 5:51Speaker 1: response they accused Paul and Silas for one, they bring
- 5:57Speaker 1: accusation against them. Now, notice the wording here, they troubled
- 6:03Speaker 1: our city, right, they said that they troubled them. The
- 6:11Speaker 1: real issue was economic loss, but they disguise it as
- 6:17Speaker 1: a social problem. You know how subtle that is. You know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: the enemy is a liar, the Bible says, when he lies,
- 6:25Speaker 1: he's speaking his his native language. I mean, they didn't
- 6:34Speaker 1: say these men cost us money, they took away our
- 6:39Speaker 1: ability to profit. Instead, they said, these men disturbed our peace,
- 6:44Speaker 1: the peace of the community. So, family, this is what happens, right,
- 6:54Speaker 1: when truth disrupt systems of exploitation of people exploiting others,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the truth teller becomes the target, right, the truth teller
- 7:11Speaker 1: when we speak the truth of God's word, and God's
- 7:15Speaker 1: word is going to threaten corrupted system. Then they come
- 7:23Speaker 1: after the person who is speaking the truth. The Gospel
- 7:27Speaker 1: exposes injustice, and sometimes the world responds with accusation instead
- 7:36Speaker 1: of repentance. Right, this should cause us to repent, but
- 7:44Speaker 1: instead the world will turn against the very message that
- 7:48Speaker 1: it was meant to help them or to help us.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Say man, all right, verse twenty one. And they teach
- 7:58Speaker 1: customs which are not out lawful for us, being Romans,
- 8:03Speaker 1: to receive or even to observe. Right now, the accusation
- 8:09Speaker 1: shifts here a little bit. First it was disturbing the peace.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Now it's breaking Roman law. You see how that works.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Roman colonies like Philippi were extremely proud of the Roman identity.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Now accusing someone of violating Roman custom was a powerful
- 8:38Speaker 1: way to stir up public anger. Right, they knew what
- 8:48Speaker 1: they were doing. This was very calculated. They wanted this
- 8:52Speaker 1: type of response. Now here's a strategy. Stir of fear,
- 9:03Speaker 1: then appeal to the culture, then turn the crowd to
- 9:09Speaker 1: the truth. Doesn't sound like our media today, It sounds
- 9:13Speaker 1: like the mainstream news industry right now. This tactic hasn't
- 9:21Speaker 1: changed in over two thousand years. Right, the enemy is
- 9:25Speaker 1: still using the same playbook. When people reject the message
- 9:30Speaker 1: of Christ, they often frame it as a cultural threat.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And we can even see that today. We can even
- 9:42Speaker 1: see that Christianity is against the law in many countries.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And I pray that it will not happen here in
- 9:53Speaker 1: the United States. But I'm afraid that day will come.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But if you really know, and if you're really studying,
- 10:02Speaker 1: look into it. The Gospel is not anti cultural. The
- 10:09Speaker 1: Gospel is pro transformation. Don't forget that we are pro transformation.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Now verse twenty two. Then the multitude rose up together
- 10:29Speaker 1: against them, and the magistrates tore off their clothes and
- 10:35Speaker 1: commanded them to be beaten with rods. Wow, now check
- 10:41Speaker 1: this out. They're getting their clothes torn off. Possibly they
- 10:45Speaker 1: could even be naked at this point, humiliated and shamed.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Now they're about to get whipped and beat for the gospel.
- 10:54Speaker 1: How many of us are willing to endure that for
- 10:59Speaker 1: the guys gospel, for our relationship with Christ. This is
- 11:04Speaker 1: still going on, Beloved. Just because we don't see it
- 11:09Speaker 1: doesn't mean it's not happening. That situation it escalated quickly.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Then all of a sudden, we see a mob form
- 11:23Speaker 1: just because of these accusations from these men, then the
- 11:28Speaker 1: authorities order a beating. Now, notice there is no trial,
- 11:36Speaker 1: There is no investigation at least when we read about
- 11:44Speaker 1: the crucifixion of Christ, even though it wasn't you know,
- 11:53Speaker 1: it was an illegal trial. But there was an attempt
- 11:58Speaker 1: of a trial and an attempt of the investigation. But
- 12:01Speaker 1: these men, they just got straight beat They're just punishment now,
- 12:09Speaker 1: Paul and Silas where they were Roman cystems, which made
- 12:13Speaker 1: this punishment illegal. They didn't even stop to figure it
- 12:17Speaker 1: out or to find out who these men were. But
- 12:22Speaker 1: in the heat, in the heart of the mob pressure,
- 12:30Speaker 1: justice was ignored as that mob. Be careful of that
- 12:35Speaker 1: mob mentality. Man. Now, truth sometimes puts believers in different situations, right,
- 12:48Speaker 1: But persecution does not mean God has abandoned you. God
- 12:54Speaker 1: has not abandoned us just because there's persecution. We've talked
- 12:58Speaker 1: about this before. Sometimes times persecution is confirmation that you're
- 13:05Speaker 1: walking in obedience. Amen, I mean, we need to worry.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And when people like us, if everything is so smooth
- 13:15Speaker 1: and smooth selling, we should be concerned. The Bible says
- 13:19Speaker 1: that people like the false prophets. The Bible tells us
- 13:31Speaker 1: be careful when all men speak well of you. That's
- 13:36Speaker 1: when we need to be concerned. Amen. Sometimes persecution, like
- 13:45Speaker 1: it said, it can be a confirmation. Now, Paul and
- 13:53Speaker 1: Silace didn't suffer for wrongdoing and suffered for doing the
- 13:58Speaker 1: right thing. How many of us have suffered for doing
- 14:05Speaker 1: what is right? It happens, beloved, Amen, verse twenty three.
- 14:13Speaker 1: When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw
- 14:16Speaker 1: them into prison, commanding the jailers to keep them securely.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Now the phrase many stripes mean a brutal beating. Wow,
- 14:29Speaker 1: it was a brutal beating that they took. Roman rides
- 14:35Speaker 1: were not symbolic punishments. They caused serious physical damage. And
- 14:47Speaker 1: now after being beaten, Paul and Silas are thrown into prison.
- 14:53Speaker 1: They didn't even get a chance to heal. It's like
- 14:57Speaker 1: just I'm gonna beat you down, then I'm gonna put
- 15:01Speaker 1: you into prison. The early Church never promised believers a
- 15:06Speaker 1: life of comfort. Don't forget that, Beloved, They promise faithfulness
- 15:13Speaker 1: in the midst of hardship. Think about this, Beloved, Paul
- 15:20Speaker 1: cast a demon out of a girl. A woman was
- 15:25Speaker 1: freed from spiritual bondage. But instead of celebration, Paul ends
- 15:32Speaker 1: up in prison. Sometimes obedience leads to unexpected suffering. Amen.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But God always has a bigger story to unfold, even
- 15:47Speaker 1: in the midst of all this all right, verse twenty four.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Having received such a charge, he put them into the
- 15:59Speaker 1: inner prison and fastening their feet in the stocks. This
- 16:07Speaker 1: is the worst part of the prison. The inner prison, dark, cold, isolated.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It's not like the jail that we know of today.
- 16:27Speaker 1: In jail, you can have a TV, you can have
- 16:29Speaker 1: a bed to sleep in, you can have your creature comforts.
- 16:35Speaker 1: But not in those days. Their feet were locked into stocks,
- 16:43Speaker 1: which stretched the legs painfully. Apart, man, just think about
- 16:56Speaker 1: what they went through, Think about what they did, just
- 16:58Speaker 1: so that we can have the gospel that we have
- 17:02Speaker 1: today that these men were faithfully and doing these things.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Stocks were designed not just for confinement, but for torture,
- 17:16Speaker 1: torture through force positioning. It was still a form of torture.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Paul and Silas were injured, bleeding, and immobilized. These are
- 17:36Speaker 1: the men that started churches. These are the men who
- 17:42Speaker 1: are traveling and saving souls. Right, These are the men
- 17:49Speaker 1: that God was working through powerfully. So imagine this scene,
- 17:58Speaker 1: beaten down, shackled in a dark prison. Let me say
- 18:05Speaker 1: that again, they were beat down, they were still bleeding.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Now they're shackled in their inside a dark prison. Yet
- 18:18Speaker 1: what happens next in the story. Is there a response
- 18:22Speaker 1: to this? First, let me ask you, what would be
- 18:26Speaker 1: your response to this? Some of y'all or some of us,
- 18:31Speaker 1: we'd be willing to quit the ministry like God really
- 18:35Speaker 1: will be questioning the call of God in our lives,
- 18:38Speaker 1: especially the way they preach in church today. They preach
- 18:43Speaker 1: you can get your new house, a new car, that
- 18:47Speaker 1: you're supposed to be blessed because you are a child
- 18:50Speaker 1: of God. Everything is supposed to be easy. I don't
- 18:55Speaker 1: see Paul the apostle preaching that what happens next, loved
- 19:02Speaker 1: is amazing. They praise, They begin to praise God, and see,
- 19:10Speaker 1: we're gonna break that down. The next episode we'll see
- 19:13Speaker 1: one of the most powerful worship moments in the Bible,
- 19:20Speaker 1: because even in chains, faith can still sing. Hey man.
- 19:31Speaker 1: But our key takeaway from this episode today is when
- 19:38Speaker 1: the Gospel exposes injustice, expect resistance. As a matter of fact,
- 19:46Speaker 1: I would not expose injustice without the Gospel is bad
- 19:53Speaker 1: enough when people do it on their own. I'm a
- 19:56Speaker 1: God behind me. If he has called me to do
- 20:00Speaker 1: do this, and we are called to be light, we
- 20:03Speaker 1: are assault in light. A part of that is to
- 20:07Speaker 1: expose the injustice that is in the world. Amen. Cultural
- 20:13Speaker 1: pressure often disguises spiritual opposition. All right, cultural pressure often
- 20:24Speaker 1: disguises spiritual opposition. We can say that this is not
- 20:28Speaker 1: our culture, or we can say this or that or
- 20:32Speaker 1: the other. But if we're fighting against the truth, you
- 20:35Speaker 1: are in opposition to the kingdom. Also, doing the right
- 20:42Speaker 1: thing doesn't guarantee easy circumstances. Sometimes doing the right thing
- 20:49Speaker 1: is a very thing that will get us in trouble.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But we need to pray and we need to ask
- 20:59Speaker 1: Guy's help in these areas. Amen, we need to do
- 21:01Speaker 1: the right thing anyway. And also God can work powerfully
- 21:09Speaker 1: even in the darkest places. God can work powerfully. Imagine
- 21:16Speaker 1: being beaten, still bleeding, being thrown in the worst, darkest
- 21:23Speaker 1: part of the prison. It probably smells. It's probably rats
- 21:29Speaker 1: and your shackle. I got much respect for these minute, guy,
- 21:41Speaker 1: all right, time for a break.
- 21:44Speaker 3: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 21:47Speaker 3: is the hiss hop radio show.

- 23:34Speaker 4: on the christis.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Influence earth crank movement untill you to his own home.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Were gonna tote it. We're gonna toe it and take
- 23:39Speaker 5: on a trip in this vehicle. Just invest so on
- 23:41Speaker 5: for the equippment. God.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I look special something at a place of paces. You
- 23:44Speaker 4: can't paddle on a nail brow because the rock one
- 23:46Speaker 4: traveling and that what try still our peace. I can
- 23:48Speaker 4: invest on and send it us in the.
- 23:49Speaker 5: True hold God, rest and movie.
- 23:51Speaker 1: He can do it.
- 23:52Speaker 5: And you talk your faith, I speak it fluent.
- 24:21Speaker 3: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 24:25Speaker 3: is the hiss Hop radio show.
- 24:45Speaker 1: All right, all right, y'all have we are a bag

- 24:54Speaker 1: awesome artists. I guess she took a quick break and
- 24:57Speaker 1: she's back. Now it's time for our accountability partner segment.
- 25:08Speaker 1: This is where we encourage each other, hold each other accountable.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Iron sharpens iron, So there is power in agreement. There's
- 25:19Speaker 1: power when we come together. Jesus promises us when two
- 25:24Speaker 1: or more gathered, he is in the midst of us. Amen, hallelujah.
- 25:30Speaker 1: His presence is so so sweet. So if we want
- 25:37Speaker 1: to go further in the accountability partner segment, if you
- 25:40Speaker 1: don't have someone to pray with you, I'm pretty sure
- 25:45Speaker 1: somebody in your church is willing, but we also want
- 25:52Speaker 1: to invite you to. You can get with us if

- 26:29Speaker 1: ask your accountability partner, where am I tempted to stay
- 26:34Speaker 1: silent instead of standing for truth? A man? We all
- 26:39Speaker 1: face this, right, We all face this temptation to be
- 26:43Speaker 1: silent when we need to be speak speaking up. I
- 26:50Speaker 1: face it myself. Amen. But we can pray and ask

- 27:03Speaker 1: need it. But let it as a whole body of Christ.
- 27:06Speaker 1: We need courage because truth isn't just believe. Faith is

- 28:39Speaker 1: Is signed silas in prison in during Acts chapter sixteen?
- 28:46Speaker 1: So what city were they imprisoned in? Amen? And like
- 28:53Speaker 1: I said, there's a bonus question, who were the two
- 28:57Speaker 1: missionaries that were in prison? So what city are they
- 29:03Speaker 1: imprisoned in? And who were the two missionaries that were
- 29:08Speaker 1: in prison? All right? All right, we're giving our community
- 29:17Speaker 1: shout out. We just want to let y'all know that
- 29:19Speaker 1: the project at Valley High School is going well. We're
- 29:24Speaker 1: trying to come up with the date to do our
- 29:27Speaker 1: public reveal to reveal the mirror to the school. They're
- 29:33Speaker 1: loving it. The students are loving it, the staff is
- 29:36Speaker 1: loving it, and it is coming out great. So check
- 29:42Speaker 1: out our newsletter so that you can get more info
- 29:48Speaker 1: about our activities in the community. We're putting together O'treach
- 29:52Speaker 1: events and we're partnering with different people in the community.
- 29:58Speaker 1: So yes, yes, be locked right here, and also check
- 30:02Speaker 1: out all the updates. We got some games, we got
- 30:05Speaker 1: some cool stuff on the app, we got a prayer room.
- 30:10Speaker 1: The Bible is on here, so check out that menu
- 30:13Speaker 1: and click on every tab so that you can get
- 30:17Speaker 1: all you can get. As we are walking down this
- 30:21Speaker 1: narrow path. Amen, all right? As I close out today's episode,
- 30:36Speaker 1: Act sixteen reminds us that obedience sometimes leads to difficult places, right,
- 30:45Speaker 1: but prison is never the end of the story at all.
- 30:49Speaker 1: God can turn a prison cell into a revival. Meaning
- 30:57Speaker 1: as we're going to see this in the next episode,
- 31:00Speaker 1: we're gonna see this amazing response to this circumstance. But
- 31:07Speaker 1: the question is how do we react? How do you
- 31:14Speaker 1: react in an unfavorable circumstance. How many of us would
- 31:20Speaker 1: have backslid? I mean, let's be honest with ourselves, how
- 31:25Speaker 1: many of us would have turned away from God if
- 31:30Speaker 1: we got beat like that, he's thrown into prison like that.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I mean, let's be real, how many of us would
- 31:39Speaker 1: be mad and upset that God, mad and upset at
- 31:43Speaker 1: the people, mad and upset at the girl. Probably would
- 31:51Speaker 1: have hated this girl because of the outcome. I mean,
- 31:58Speaker 1: we really need to fix that. We really need to
- 32:02Speaker 1: consider this, because beloved, this is the standard. What we're
- 32:05Speaker 1: reading right now is what God requires of us. There's
- 32:11Speaker 1: no wiggle room. This could be the difference between whether
- 32:16Speaker 1: or not you're truly in the faith or not. This
- 32:20Speaker 1: could tell us what road are we on? The broad
- 32:22Speaker 1: road that leads to destruction. The Bible says forgive? Is
- 32:29Speaker 1: there unforgiveness and bitterness in our hearts? The Bible says
- 32:34Speaker 1: vengeance is mine? How would we pay? I am so
- 32:38Speaker 1: happy I allow the Lord to fight my battles and man,
- 32:43Speaker 1: because I would have self destructed a long time ago
- 32:49Speaker 1: if I would have been fighting in my own strength. Amen,
- 32:51Speaker 1: And not saying I'm perfect, but just really think about it,
- 32:57Speaker 1: do some self examining, and just be honest. God just
- 33:01Speaker 1: want us to be honest, right I mean, I'm being
- 33:05Speaker 1: honest with myself right now. You know, it would have
- 33:08Speaker 1: been a struggle. I don't like to get whipped. I
- 33:11Speaker 1: don't like to be in prison. I don't like chains
- 33:14Speaker 1: around me. You know what I mean, being thrown in
- 33:16Speaker 1: a nasty cell. I mean, I don't like it at all.
- 33:21Speaker 1: But can I stink in the spirit long enough to
- 33:29Speaker 1: see God move? Let's pray, Father, we repent right now.
- 33:41Speaker 1: We ask forgive us. You know our hearts, You know
- 33:45Speaker 1: us better than we know ourselves. Forgive us for quitting
- 33:49Speaker 1: on You. Forgive us for the bitterness and the anger
- 33:54Speaker 1: that is in our hearts even now, the people that
- 33:56Speaker 1: we need to forgive the circumstances that we can plan about,
- 34:00Speaker 1: the circumstances that we so often are negative about. That
- 34:05Speaker 1: we failed to worship, We failed to praise you, we
- 34:11Speaker 1: failed to be faithful to You when we go through it. Oh,
- 34:16Speaker 1: wash us by the blood of the Lamb, Oh God,
- 34:18Speaker 1: and give us a new heart and a new mind,
- 34:20Speaker 1: a new attitude about the trials that we face. Help
- 34:24Speaker 1: us to walk in joy peace, Help us to worship
- 34:27Speaker 1: You no matter what. Give us the same spirit that
- 34:31Speaker 1: Paul and Silas had as they went through their trial.
- 34:37Speaker 1: And we asked this Lord in Jesus' name, Amen, Hallelujah.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Remember stay rooted in the word, stay bold in your faith, Amen,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and keep building the kingdom. This is your brother, Mister
