- 0:01Speaker 1: Now here's what you need to know.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Oh, we are all ready for some summertime. And last
- 0:07Speaker 2: night the Fargo Park Board did meet to talk about
- 0:09Speaker 2: the upcoming pool season. Originally, they had increased family season
- 0:12Speaker 2: passes to all five pools from one hundred and ninety
- 0:15Speaker 2: three dollars to five hundred dollars, which was, of course
- 0:17Speaker 2: a huge sticker shock for so many people. The price
- 0:20Speaker 2: will now be three hundred and fifty dollars. A U
- 0:23Speaker 2: season pass will be one hundred and fifty dollars, down
- 0:26Speaker 2: from two hundred and ten. The Fargo Park District the
- 0:29Speaker 2: executive director did admit to being too aggressive and raising fees,
- 0:32Speaker 2: saying that they hadn't been increased in years, so they
- 0:35Speaker 2: needed to do something. But of course it was great
- 0:36Speaker 2: that they were able to compromise.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I give them credit.
- 0:39Speaker 3: They heard the concerns and did something about it, so
- 0:41Speaker 3: I could definitely give them a thumbs up.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That's how it should work, right. Absolutely.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It was close, but the US House of Representatives narrowly
- 0:48Speaker 2: approved a stop gap funding build to avert a potential
- 0:50Speaker 2: government shutdown with the vote of two hundred and seventeen
- 0:53Speaker 2: to two hundred and thirteen. The US Department of Education
- 0:55Speaker 2: is preparing to lay off more than thirteen hundred workers
- 0:58Speaker 2: as a part of a broader federal job.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Under Trump's administration.
- 1:04Speaker 2: And Canada has withdrawn a planned twenty five percent surcharge
- 1:07Speaker 2: and electricity exports to the US after Trump threatened to
- 1:11Speaker 2: double tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum, they went ahead
- 1:14Speaker 2: with the plan to put the energy surcharge into place.
- 1:17Speaker 2: They'll be planning a meeting again for some time today
- 1:20Speaker 2: to discuss renewing the US Mexico Canada Free Trade Act
- 1:23Speaker 2: before Trump's April second deadline. The President was asked yesterday
- 1:26Speaker 2: if he would now be lowering tariffs on Canada, to
- 1:29Speaker 2: which he replied probably. So. It is a little stressful
- 1:33Speaker 2: for me trying to keep up with all of this,
- 1:35Speaker 2: because there's just new information and is changing all the time,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and the deadlines keep kind of getting extended.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But I think that's what's supposed to be happening.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like these and I have once again,
- 1:44Speaker 3: I don't know enough, but I feel like they start
- 1:47Speaker 3: out super aggressive and then slowly kind of worked down
- 1:50Speaker 3: to some type of compromise at some point. Is that
- 1:52Speaker 3: what it's felt like so far? Yes, Okay, well there
- 1:55Speaker 3: we got we will we will see. I pay attention
- 1:58Speaker 3: more than I thought. I guess whether gonna be great today?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Sunshine high a fifty, bumping up to about sixty five tomorrow,
- 2:04Speaker 2: same with Friday.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Then we kind of take a turn.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It looks like Friday is sunny and sixty five for
- 2:09Speaker 2: a little bit, and then it starts raining. We dip
- 2:12Speaker 2: down to twenty seven on Saturday. Still kind of like
- 2:15Speaker 2: this rain snow mixed. Nobody really knows what to expect.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I have seen up to five inches of snow possible
- 2:21Speaker 2: on Saturday. Either way. It's so nice. We don't have
- 2:24Speaker 2: any snow left. It'll melt right away.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Who cares. That's such a positive attitude.
- 2:28Speaker 3: But to just see snow again, especially an amount you
- 2:31Speaker 3: know now, more than like a quarter inch, that would
- 2:34Speaker 3: really be just a shot to the gut.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It has been so nice, I know, but it's mid March.
- 2:39Speaker 2: If this is our like last Turrah or the big dump, okay.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Pork like the last. If we have to put up
- 2:48Speaker 1: with this snow, no dump, I'll be a fine with that.
- 2:53Speaker 1: If this is it, we're good.
- 2:57Speaker 3: As a parent, I would guess you sacrifice and sacrifice
- 3:01Speaker 3: and sacrifice so much for your children, but you never
- 3:04Speaker 3: know when.
- 3:04Speaker 1: They're gonna turn you into the police. You never know.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You never know.
- 3:09Speaker 3: There's a four year old, a sweet four year old
- 3:12Speaker 3: boy from Wisconsin who tried to turn her mother into
- 3:16Speaker 3: the old police.
- 3:17Speaker 1: What did she do? Bad? Mom?
- 3:19Speaker 3: This is a fabulous, fabulous piece of audio here, and
- 3:23Speaker 3: this is a great time to teach your kids about
- 3:25Speaker 3: nine one one. It's great to make sure they know
- 3:27Speaker 3: how to use it. It's probably smart to also let
- 3:30Speaker 3: them know what to use it for. Take a listen
- 3:32Speaker 3: to this four year old and talking to the police
- 3:35Speaker 3: in dispatch.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Hello, this is routine tony nine one one.
- 3:39Speaker 1: My mom didn't know you know, your mom?
- 3:43Speaker 3: Hi?
- 3:43Speaker 2: What's going on over there?
- 3:45Speaker 1: This little one got the phone and he's four. Okay,
- 3:50Speaker 1: we're trying to kick him because you couldn't gonna call
- 3:53Speaker 1: him nine one one.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Age is ice cream, so that's probably why he's calling
- 3:57Speaker 2: nine one one. Thank here, I'm so far and all
- 4:01Speaker 2: that's okay?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Hi, Oh, it's the police.
- 4:06Speaker 2: They came.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Did you go to police?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah? Why is it because you didn't get ice cream yet?
- 4:15Speaker 3: This kid calls the police because his mom jokingly ate
- 4:19Speaker 3: his ice cream cone or whatever, but they have to
- 4:24Speaker 3: follow up.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I think I have certain reguards because honestly, when I
- 4:27Speaker 2: heard that in case, there was something.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Like, oh yeah, just about ice.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Cream, but you never know what's going on. Yeah, the origin,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you've heard all of the stories. I'm sure, Uh, that
- 4:38Speaker 2: would be definitely something my kids would do to me.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It just showed up on my memories. A few days ago,
- 4:44Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, I was home with my
- 4:46Speaker 2: kids and they were upset because I told him it
- 4:48Speaker 2: was time to go for a nap. And my son
- 4:51Speaker 2: absolutely loves police officers, and so he is always like
- 4:55Speaker 2: trying to arrest people.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We play cops and robbers all the time.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And he's like, you are so mean, I'm calling the
- 5:01Speaker 2: police on you. He thankfully was young enough to not
- 5:05Speaker 2: pick up my phone and do it. Sure, thankfully we
- 5:08Speaker 2: don't have landline, so you can keep your cell phone
- 5:10Speaker 2: in your pocket for the most part.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Tuesday is right.
- 5:13Speaker 2: But I could totally see my kids doing something like this. I,
- 5:17Speaker 2: when I was younger, once called the police. Yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll never forget it. I was in my kitchen
- 5:22Speaker 3: and I when you're a kid, you always hear about like, oh,
- 5:24Speaker 3: call nine one one. If you need help, you know
- 5:26Speaker 3: the number, YadA, YadA, YadA. And I was just young
- 5:29Speaker 3: enough to where I was like, is this real? Like
- 5:31Speaker 3: what actually happens if you do this? So I called
- 5:33Speaker 3: nine one one. I think I was probably four. I
- 5:35Speaker 3: was probably the same five years old. I was a
- 5:37Speaker 3: really young kid, and then I called nine one one.
- 5:40Speaker 3: A nice lady answered through dispatch, and I immediately just
- 5:43Speaker 3: hung up the phone, like, oh my god, it right.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You're like, oh, it's real.
- 5:47Speaker 3: They answered yeah, and they immediately call right back, and
- 5:52Speaker 3: my mom answered the phone. It was very similar to this,
- 5:55Speaker 3: and they were like, yeah, does someone need nine to
- 5:57Speaker 3: one one?
- 5:58Speaker 1: And she was like no.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And then of course I'm in the kitchen, guilty as
- 6:02Speaker 3: all get out and she's like, Gabe, did you call
- 6:05Speaker 3: nine one one? And I wasn't in trouble or whatever,
- 6:08Speaker 3: but I was mortified. And I talked to it and
- 6:10Speaker 3: she was like, well, here, talk to my son, and
- 6:12Speaker 3: she put me back on with dispatch and I'm like, yeah,
- 6:15Speaker 3: I called nine one one.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I just wanted to see if it would work.
- 6:18Speaker 3: And the lady was really nice and she basically was like, well, yes,
- 6:21Speaker 3: it's good that you know how to do it. We're
- 6:22Speaker 3: glad that you know the number, YadA, YadA, YadA, But
- 6:26Speaker 3: this is for emergencies only kind of thing.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would be anxious to see how many
- 6:31Speaker 2: people call a day or kids or whatever all the
- 6:35Speaker 2: time till I could check it out, because yes, you
- 6:38Speaker 2: are only supposed to use that for emergencies. But again,
- 6:42Speaker 2: that's also a huge lesson for you. This kid going,
- 6:44Speaker 2: oh boy, this is this is legit.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And to bring this all back to this four year old,
- 6:51Speaker 3: it turns out that the mom didn't even eat his
- 6:54Speaker 3: ice cream. The mom had two ice creams and she
- 6:57Speaker 3: ate hers and just had his in the foray. Ready,
- 7:05Speaker 3: that's he is piping hot today and now Amanda.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Fills the sea. Let's see.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So are they just full on in disguise or are
- 7:16Speaker 2: they just spending a lot of money to keep their
- 7:19Speaker 2: lives on the down low. I am loving that Travis
- 7:21Speaker 2: Kelcey and Taylor Swift had not been spotted since the
- 7:23Speaker 2: Super Bowl until yesterday in Park City, Utah. I guess
- 7:28Speaker 2: they've been flying under the radar to a couple of
- 7:30Speaker 2: different places. We had heard that they were somewhere tropical,
- 7:34Speaker 2: and then there were some rumors they were in New
- 7:36Speaker 2: York City and then we found out that it was
- 7:38Speaker 2: I think it was his birthday yesterday, so that's where
- 7:41Speaker 2: they wanted to go to spend their time.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I just love this because.
- 7:45Speaker 2: They don't want to be seen everywhere, you know what,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I why are you laughing at me?
- 7:50Speaker 1: I'm so passionate, like you're so proud of I am.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I just am because the whole world is sick of
- 7:56Speaker 2: these guys. They don't necessarily want to be the spotlight
- 8:01Speaker 2: of everything. It just so happens. Everything they do people
- 8:03Speaker 2: care about. And I like that they've had a beat
- 8:06Speaker 2: to just kind of get away from all of it.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Now that she's not on tour, he's not playing football
- 8:11Speaker 2: at the moment, right just getting.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Like mom Amanda, the Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift. That's
- 8:17Speaker 3: kind of fun, or like big sister Amanda.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Maybe I don't care either way.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I just I'm happy for them that they're getting the
- 8:24Speaker 2: time that they deserve for each other. This. On the
- 8:29Speaker 2: other hand, I've got thoughts about Wild Mama meis a
- 8:33Speaker 2: step in Britney Spears. I love her, I support her,
- 8:37Speaker 2: but can we just make maybe some of these videos private?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Like I just it's getting.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Out of hand, a little too comfortable with what she
- 8:45Speaker 1: shares on.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Very very much so, so she shared this rare video
- 8:48Speaker 2: with her son. I was so excited because at the
- 8:52Speaker 2: on the what is it like the first picture you
- 8:54Speaker 2: see on a queen?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't do you know what I mean?
- 8:57Speaker 2: When pops up and you're scrolling, it's a picture of
- 8:59Speaker 2: her son, and I'm thinking, oh, this is fantastic because
- 9:02Speaker 2: everything else is you half naked, spinning around in your
- 9:05Speaker 2: living room. He captions it. He's a genius. I'm in
- 9:08Speaker 2: awe of him. I can't believe he's mine. I was
- 9:12Speaker 2: honestly scared. That's not normal, Like, oh, this has my
- 9:16Speaker 2: full attention, Brittany. What is your son about?
- 9:17Speaker 1: What to do?
- 9:19Speaker 2: So we're gonna play the video for you. The beginning
- 9:22Speaker 2: is where the concern is. But his talent is unbelievable.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Listen, my son, just play, Oh my God in my
- 9:34Speaker 1: bones and my heart and my luve and my my
- 9:37Speaker 1: throat and uh love you sir, Hello, Hello, Britney. Stop it.
- 9:47Speaker 2: While.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And then you find out the kid's a beast. He's Beethoven.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yeah, And you have to watch the video to see
- 10:00Speaker 2: because this doesn't even do it justice. I mean, he
- 10:02Speaker 2: is in his element. It is fantastic. But waiting up
- 10:06Speaker 2: to it was just a It was a turn.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Of events, and I understand being excited as a parent
- 10:11Speaker 3: were we're like, oh my god, and you freak out,
- 10:13Speaker 3: but for thirty seconds. But it was just next level
- 10:16Speaker 3: and yeah it's way overdone. Yeah as a mom, trust me.
- 10:20Speaker 2: In the background of every video I have of my kids,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'm annoyed by myself.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Okay, I hate my voice in the back. Oh you're
- 10:26Speaker 1: I mean all the things.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Get it.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I get this. This just feels a little different. Ye,
- 10:32Speaker 1: a little far there and no word on the street.
- 10:36Speaker 2: As Jennifer Gardner's boyfriend John Miller is not happy about
- 10:39Speaker 2: this recent photo. We were talking about it last week.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Ben Affleck was spending some time with Jennifer Gardner. It
- 10:44Speaker 2: was one of their kids' birthdays. They were paintballing and
- 10:47Speaker 2: it kind of looks like he's going to tackle her,
- 10:49Speaker 2: but it is. It's a lovey dovey photo. It gave
- 10:52Speaker 2: people the feels. Thorus is say, he is just done
- 10:56Speaker 2: with the disrespect. He understands that they're co parenting. He
- 11:00Speaker 2: is okay with that. He has been since they've been together,
- 11:03Speaker 2: but he did give her an ultimatum saying he doesn't
- 11:05Speaker 2: want to see stuff like that again. They already have
- 11:08Speaker 2: to spend holidays special occasions together, but it feels as
- 11:12Speaker 2: though they're leaning too.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Much on each other, is what we're being told.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Sure, I don't see anything wrong with that kind of
- 11:18Speaker 3: drawing a line where what you think is appropriate and
- 11:20Speaker 3: not appropriate going forward for your relationship with her.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And if that's not.
- 11:24Speaker 3: What she thinks she can do or wants to do,
- 11:27Speaker 3: then they don't need to be together.
- 11:29Speaker 1: That's fine. Absolutely.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I can't help but feel that this was just like
- 11:33Speaker 2: one photo that somebody was just trying to get. They
- 11:37Speaker 2: got it and blew it out of proportion, right, But
- 11:39Speaker 2: if that was your relationship, even if there was a
- 11:43Speaker 2: just all the trust in the world, you're seeing that
- 11:45Speaker 2: with the headline that your girl is trying to get
- 11:49Speaker 2: back with her ex.
- 11:50Speaker 1: How do you not feel icky about that? Yeah?
- 11:53Speaker 3: Also, we had kind of mentioned this in earlier and
- 11:57Speaker 3: just earlier this week or whatever or was that last week?
- 11:59Speaker 3: Doesn't matter or does ben Affleck? Does he not know
- 12:02Speaker 3: an Emily?
- 12:04Speaker 2: No, he just knows two gens and that's it. And
- 12:07Speaker 2: they're on recycle.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Why doesn't he try, Jennifer Aniston go for the three piece?
- 12:13Speaker 1: You might be onto something here. I'm just saying, throw
- 12:16Speaker 1: out a tweet. I'm I'm pretty sure she's single. See
- 12:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I'm sure she's ready to mingle with Ben.
- 12:21Speaker 1: But who knows it? Hollywood. One thing I've noticed in
- 12:27Speaker 1: my four how many months have I been here? Four
- 12:30Speaker 1: or five? November December January? Four months? Five months? Yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 1: something like that. One thing I've kind.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Of noticed in maybe and it also might just be
- 12:38Speaker 3: my neighborhood or where I live in South Fargo, But
- 12:41Speaker 3: have you noticed a lot of roundabouts in Fargo? Oh?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Don't even are you don't even get me started.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Are you pro or anti roundabout?
- 12:53Speaker 3: Because I got nothing would fire up someone from the
- 12:56Speaker 3: Midwest like a good old roundabout conversation.
- 12:59Speaker 2: It's actually really bad timing that you brought this up,
- 13:02Speaker 2: because I just had a park conversation with some moms. Yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 2: everybody just rolled their eyes. They're like, oh, here we go,
- 13:11Speaker 2: little mom chatter. Because in our neighborhood over in West Fargo,
- 13:16Speaker 2: near a school, it's a four way stop, and there
- 13:19Speaker 2: was a conversation to be had that that was going
- 13:22Speaker 2: to be a roundabout, and we were also anti that,
- 13:26Speaker 2: especially by a school, because people are terrible at roundabouts.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I really would like to protect my children as much
- 13:33Speaker 2: as possible. And with this four way you're able to
- 13:36Speaker 2: see everything. It's wide open, you can clearly see that
- 13:40Speaker 2: kids are going to be coming going. It's just it
- 13:43Speaker 2: seems like common sense. Okay, just found out on Monday.
- 13:48Speaker 2: But there's some sort of grant and they are trying
- 13:50Speaker 2: to have the conversation again to make it a roundabout,
- 13:53Speaker 2: and it looks like it would go through and my
- 13:57Speaker 2: mom a hat came on and I lost my mind.
- 14:00Speaker 2: So it's like, this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Why would we do this? Not a roundabout? Lady huh?
- 14:05Speaker 2: In certain regards, there's a few of them around our area,
- 14:08Speaker 2: and it makes sense, I guess sure, But we've also
- 14:12Speaker 2: had a lot of different accidents. I get accidents hap
- 14:14Speaker 2: at four way stops. I get all of it. I
- 14:17Speaker 2: just with as much traffic and where you're at. Some
- 14:20Speaker 2: people truly just don't understand how.
- 14:23Speaker 1: To use a roundabout right right on.
- 14:27Speaker 3: See, I like I'm pro roundabout actually, I like roundabouts
- 14:30Speaker 3: and I did look up you know, some of the
- 14:32Speaker 3: advantages and disadvantages to roundabouts. I just every day I
- 14:37Speaker 3: basically have to drive through like three or four of
- 14:39Speaker 3: these things.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And it's not like new. I know what roundabouts are, obviously, but.
- 14:44Speaker 3: To use multiple on a day to day basis has
- 14:48Speaker 3: just been kind of an interesting thing I've navigated in
- 14:51Speaker 3: the past four or five months.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And I get if you're, for instance, you live in
- 14:54Speaker 2: South Fargo, you're driving straight through, I get it kind
- 14:57Speaker 2: of slows traffic, I understand in some res guards For
- 15:01Speaker 2: me in this one specific roundabout, that's getting me real
- 15:04Speaker 2: hot under the collar right now, as I just feel
- 15:07Speaker 2: like there is going to be so many injuries or accidents,
- 15:11Speaker 2: kids not really seeing a car coming around, or people
- 15:14Speaker 2: not paying attention. We are in a world of texting
- 15:17Speaker 2: and driving, I don't care who you are, and distracted.
- 15:20Speaker 1: That just does not feel right for me.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah, well, some of the advantages for asking some of
- 15:25Speaker 3: the I didn't know you felt such a way about it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I really didn't either until just start.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Okay, Well, some of the advantages about roundabouts, well safety
- 15:35Speaker 3: Supposedly these do improve excuse me, these do reduce the
- 15:40Speaker 3: risk of serious crashes and injuries up to ninety percent.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Traffic flow allows traffic to flow continuously continuously as opposed
- 15:49Speaker 3: like red and green lights. Pedestrian safety supposedly tell me
- 15:53Speaker 3: about that. Supposedly, roundabouts are safer for pedestrians because of
- 15:57Speaker 3: the slower speeds, shorter crossing distances, and better sight lines.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And then these last couple.
- 16:04Speaker 2: See so what I just argued that does not feel
- 16:07Speaker 2: real to me in just this certain area. Right, Maybe
- 16:11Speaker 2: I'm wrong, Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not okay with it.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Well you're not totally wrong, and I will get to
- 16:17Speaker 3: those in a second here, thank you. The last two
- 16:19Speaker 3: just environment and then cost. You know, you don't have
- 16:21Speaker 3: to keep up with the red and green lights and
- 16:23Speaker 3: the maintenance and blobbles.
- 16:24Speaker 1: This is why a stop sign does wonders.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Right, all right, Well, here are some of the disadvantages,
- 16:29Speaker 3: and really the big, only big one is.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We don't know how to use them.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Roundabouts can be confusing for drivers, especially when you've been
- 16:39Speaker 3: driving a certain way for fifty sixty however many years,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden you got to learn
- 16:44Speaker 3: how to use a roundabout. Even though I do think
- 16:47Speaker 3: it's incredibly incredibly simple to figure out how to use
- 16:51Speaker 3: a roundabout to some degree.
- 16:53Speaker 2: But when you have kids who are trying to walk
- 16:55Speaker 2: across and do when people are thinking they're going around
- 16:58Speaker 2: and then they have to turn. Some people don't use
- 17:00Speaker 2: their turn signal in the roundabout because they think they're
- 17:03Speaker 2: just flowing through.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 17:06Speaker 2: The one disadvantage I think NIX is all the advantages.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Oh okay, if nobody knows how to really use them,
- 17:14Speaker 2: or the majority of people, then we're talking more accidents.
- 17:17Speaker 1: We're talking more injuries and all of the other things.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Well, I will help you right now if you do
- 17:22Speaker 3: not know how to use one of those roundabouts in
- 17:24Speaker 3: South Fargo, the one of the three I go through
- 17:26Speaker 3: just about every day. Here's how it works. When you
- 17:28Speaker 3: are in the roundabout, it is pedal to the metal.
- 17:31Speaker 3: You don't stop.
- 17:32Speaker 1: You just keep going till you hit your cannot until
- 17:34Speaker 1: you hit a kid.
- 17:35Speaker 2: When they're walking across the street because you're not paying attention.
- 17:38Speaker 3: When you want to get into the roundabout, you wait
- 17:41Speaker 3: your darn turn.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's about how it works. I didn't know this was
- 17:45Speaker 1: going to get you all me either, all up in arm.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Maybe I need to go to a I'm sure there's
- 17:50Speaker 2: some sort of meeting in West Fargo Bounty.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Today's variety big ninety eight point seven.
- 17:58Speaker 2: All right, some sunshine today, little to no wins, high
- 18:01Speaker 2: of about fifty and Gabe, this time change really got
- 18:04Speaker 2: me this morning.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I was exhausted. I've had a cup of coffee.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And my fitfit just did the oh my gosh, you
- 18:11Speaker 2: need to calm down vibration because you brought up round about.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say, I just leaned. I learned
- 18:17Speaker 3: a convo not to bring up at Christmas dinner with
- 18:19Speaker 3: Amanda Holy Smokes.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Politics and roundabouts apparently are my thing.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I love that.
- 18:25Speaker 3: And see, I actually do not mind a roundabout if
- 18:28Speaker 3: I don't have to sit at a red light for
- 18:30Speaker 3: however long. You know, I see nothing wrong with the
- 18:32Speaker 3: nice roundabout. They use them everywhere in the world, but here.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Basically, and it's fine for you know, you and I
- 18:37Speaker 2: who are the only ones on the road at three.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Through a roundabout.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Baby, I love it because then we don't have to
- 18:43Speaker 2: deal with the stoplight that we're the only one sitting
- 18:46Speaker 2: at going Can we just go through this?
- 18:48Speaker 3: Right?
- 18:48Speaker 2: We didn't get a message here from Erica, who said
- 18:50Speaker 2: roundabouts are dumb near schools, which was what I was
- 18:53Speaker 2: complaining about. She does know, Gabe, the roundabouts in your
- 18:56Speaker 2: area in South Vargo, and she says that's great except
- 18:59Speaker 2: for where it's near a high school and young drivers
- 19:02Speaker 2: maybe take those a little too fast around the curves,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and incidents and accidents happen, especially for me in the winter.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Cush.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You really got me now, with snow around them. That
- 19:14Speaker 2: doesn't make sense to me.
- 19:16Speaker 1: And I actually do see the argument for around this.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Around schools, you know, get a big giant stop thing
- 19:21Speaker 3: with a crosswalk and whatever.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I can see that argument.
- 19:25Speaker 3: But if you're just like driving down twenty fifth Street,
- 19:27Speaker 3: you know you can't figure out a roundabout.
- 19:29Speaker 1: We got to retake some drivers out. I think you
- 19:31Speaker 1: know what I mean. Yeah, But I get the argument
- 19:34Speaker 1: around to school for sure.
- 19:35Speaker 3: And I guess roundabouts the hot topic today here. The
- 19:39Speaker 3: phone is ringing. It's big ninety eight point seven.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I also hate roundabouts.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I think they're pointless.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Can I get a name?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Men? Well?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Pointless and red light anymore?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Oh?
- 19:51Speaker 3: I would much rather go have a four way stop
- 19:55Speaker 3: than a freaking roundabout.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Men came up with this idea.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I swear to God, it's a man thing.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It's totally a man thing.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Aren't and are aren't stop signs wait deeper.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Than a freaking roundabout? And I feel like Sifer, Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 3: I'm with you. I am with your sister.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm with you. I don't know.
- 20:16Speaker 3: There's a lot of people get tickets for running through
- 20:19Speaker 3: stop signs.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's pretty impossible to run through a roundabout.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, No, the buses just have to go over
- 20:24Speaker 2: them because they can't.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Go around them. They do have to cut through the middle.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It is so insane and uh, oh my gosh. I
- 20:33Speaker 2: just have to ask, First of all, what's your name, Diana?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Diana appreciates you. Second of all, what part of town
- 20:39Speaker 2: do you live in? If you don't mind, Jerry.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I also live West Fargo.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I live in Well, I live in the Charleswood area, gotcha?
- 20:45Speaker 1: All right?
- 20:46Speaker 2: Well, maybe i'll see at the next West Fargo City
- 20:50Speaker 2: Commission meeting and you and I can start preaching to
- 20:53Speaker 2: the choir.
- 20:54Speaker 1: No, we'll bring the hot damn and we'll be preaching
- 20:57Speaker 1: to the choir exactly.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I never want to thought roundabouts would be that hot
- 21:02Speaker 3: of a topic. There's Olivia Rod. We need the vampire
- 21:06Speaker 3: who saw Today's Variety Big ninety eight point seven. Earlier
- 21:12Speaker 3: on in the show Today where you were talking pickup lines,
- 21:15Speaker 3: would shut up and dance with me?
- 21:17Speaker 1: For work on you?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Man?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Ooh nay, it would really depend again it's delivery.
- 21:23Speaker 1: But if somebody.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Grabbed me and like spin me around, like shut up
- 21:26Speaker 2: and dance with me, I might be like, whoa I mean.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Back in the day? Sure? Yeah? And also what kind
- 21:32Speaker 1: of dance? Yeah, that's true. You know, I don't know
- 21:35Speaker 1: what song is playing exactly. I got you, You're setting
- 21:39Speaker 1: all of it. I did just get low, Get low?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Might be an awkward time to pull that off.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Oh man, all right, weather today it is going to
- 21:47Speaker 2: be sunny hi of about fifty bumping up to sixty
- 21:50Speaker 2: five tomorrow, So get out and enjoy before who knows
- 21:53Speaker 2: what's coming Friday into Saturday.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Still feel like it's a little too early to tell.
- 21:57Speaker 3: There's something I have got to cut out of my
- 22:00Speaker 3: my spending here, Amanda, there's a it's just gotta go
- 22:05Speaker 3: and I need someone to be on board in this
- 22:07Speaker 3: bandwagon with me here, Okay, I have Corey and I
- 22:11Speaker 3: together have kind of realized, you know, we really gotta
- 22:14Speaker 3: stop doing the old food delivery, we need to just
- 22:18Speaker 3: go pick it up, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:21Speaker 2: See, we are so not in this life. We don't
- 22:25Speaker 2: ever do food delivery. Sure, we cook at home so much. Yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 2: mainly because my husband is an amazing cook and he
- 22:31Speaker 2: loves to do it. We tend to go that's our
- 22:33Speaker 2: treat to go out. And yeah, we don't even really
- 22:37Speaker 2: do food pick up or anything like that.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we And I would say for the most part,
- 22:42Speaker 3: we make food or have leftovers at home pretty frequently.
- 22:45Speaker 3: But you know, the once or twice a week where
- 22:47Speaker 3: we're both kind of just being lazy and don't want
- 22:49Speaker 3: to do anything, and then it's like, oh, we'll just
- 22:50Speaker 3: have him drop it off.
- 22:52Speaker 1: And then after you know.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Once or twice, like once a week is okay, twice
- 22:58Speaker 2: a week at.
- 22:58Speaker 1: A lot for food.
- 23:01Speaker 3: And I'm talking about just the delivery, not even on
- 23:04Speaker 3: top of the actual charge of the food.
- 23:06Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. I know it.
- 23:07Speaker 3: In a month, we've spent like one hundred and fifty
- 23:10Speaker 3: dollars for someone to drop food off at the front door.
- 23:13Speaker 3: So I have nixed that from the old Glitten budget
- 23:16Speaker 3: in the past, I don't know, three weeks two weeks
- 23:19Speaker 3: or whatever. If we do are too lazy to make something,
- 23:22Speaker 3: which happens you know, oh absolutely, we don't want to
- 23:24Speaker 3: cook anything, and you're supporting the economy. Yeah, exactly, we uh,
- 23:28Speaker 3: I will just go out and pick it up. I'll
- 23:31Speaker 3: just fight the twenty minutes of If I just go
- 23:34Speaker 3: there and pick it up, I'll be back and I
- 23:35Speaker 3: can eat it as opposed to paying a twelve thirteen
- 23:39Speaker 3: twenty dollars delivery charge.
- 23:41Speaker 2: So the one thing that I have realized is so
- 23:44Speaker 2: many times I think something's going to be faster going
- 23:47Speaker 2: through a drive through doing whatever it may be, right,
- 23:50Speaker 2: nine times out of ten, you forget how easy it
- 23:55Speaker 2: is to just whip something up, and it is.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Just it's quick. It's just in your mind it feels
- 23:59Speaker 1: like soch a big deal. Yeah, I'm if.
- 24:02Speaker 3: You just get up and start doing how fast you'll
- 24:05Speaker 3: be done totally.
- 24:06Speaker 2: I mean, you can whip up spaghetti in less than
- 24:09Speaker 2: ten minutes. There are times you're waiting in a drive
- 24:11Speaker 2: through for fifteen minutes.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, plus the drive time, all of it. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 1: So that is kind of my vow.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I apologize if you are a door dash delivery driver,
- 24:22Speaker 3: an uber Eats delivery driver. I have been providing your service,
- 24:27Speaker 3: and I appreciate it, and I pay for it because
- 24:30Speaker 3: I want it.
- 24:31Speaker 1: But I gotta stop, so I'm sorry.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Guys, You'll probably not be making that stop and South
- 24:37Speaker 3: Fargo anytime soon, at least at my house.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Not even closer.
- 24:40Speaker 2: True with the Saint Patti's Day pub crawl on Saturday,
- 24:43Speaker 2: you're gonna wake up on.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Somebody and be like, I'm gonna need some shiniese food
- 24:47Speaker 1: for this hangover. Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven.
- 24:55Speaker 2: All right, some sunshine today, get out and enjoy the
- 24:57Speaker 2: wind is not going to be a factor. I have
- 24:59Speaker 2: about fifty bumping up to about sixty five tomorrow, and
- 25:01Speaker 2: we're just not going to talk about Friday and Saturday yet.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Because T B D. Yeah, don't break my heart now
- 25:07Speaker 1: exactly all right.
- 25:09Speaker 3: What is something when you were younger that you were
- 25:11Speaker 3: either a attracted to or b you thought was attractive
- 25:16Speaker 3: or made you more attractive you thought it was cool.
- 25:18Speaker 3: It doesn't necessarily have to be a physical thing per se,
- 25:21Speaker 3: or it could be something you thought made you more attractive.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Let us know this morning, and there are a lot
- 25:26Speaker 3: of people who chimed in on Facebook and some of
- 25:28Speaker 3: these are great. What about you, Amanda, What were you attracted.
- 25:31Speaker 1: To when you were young?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Did you like it?
- 25:32Speaker 1: Did you like a bad boy with a leather jacket
- 25:34Speaker 1: and a Mustang boy? No, actually quite opposite.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I had a type four guys with no cars and
- 25:41Speaker 2: no jobs. It's like I wanted to help help them.
- 25:45Speaker 3: It was.
- 25:46Speaker 1: It was a fun run. It was not necessarily something
- 25:48Speaker 1: wrong with a guy with a bus pass, you know. No,
- 25:50Speaker 1: I didn't even have that. Yeah, it was it was.
- 25:53Speaker 1: It was a thing, alright. It was a thing in
- 25:56Speaker 1: my day.
- 25:56Speaker 3: And you eventually grew out of that. At what points
- 26:00Speaker 3: in your life did you grow out of that?
- 26:02Speaker 1: Do you want to let me know? Thank you? Jesus,
- 26:04Speaker 1: Ah gosh, I don't. I don't. I don't know.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Game.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Okay, you're really giving me feelings right now. All right,
- 26:11Speaker 1: Well we'll go to me then real quick. Well we're
- 26:13Speaker 1: what I used to find or that I did.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't know if it was like post
- 26:19Speaker 2: COVID age all of it after having kids and just
- 26:22Speaker 2: my husband loving natural beauty, but I used to wear
- 26:25Speaker 2: so much makeup.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Oh sure, a little bit, Oh my gosh, like.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Real foundation like cake face, oh okay, and then white
- 26:36Speaker 2: eyeshadow just like the look back in the day. I
- 26:39Speaker 2: follow a girl on Instagram who makes fun of what
- 26:43Speaker 2: we used to do, just the and the sequenzy, just
- 26:48Speaker 2: all the things.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Well that was no longer. You and Jennifer have that
- 26:51Speaker 1: in common.
- 26:52Speaker 3: She also said heavy makeup, so I'm assuming she did
- 26:56Speaker 3: a little bit of overdoing it with the makeup.
- 26:58Speaker 1: A little and now you're lucky to find me in it.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Sure right, I feel like they're still residue right from
- 27:05Speaker 2: the nineties even early two thousands.
- 27:08Speaker 3: When I was younger, probably you know, high school going
- 27:11Speaker 3: into college is what I would say. There was a
- 27:14Speaker 3: couple things, not a couple, but I always, you know,
- 27:17Speaker 3: I was really into like the party girls kind of and.
- 27:21Speaker 1: As I got older.
- 27:22Speaker 3: As I got older, I kind of started to realize, like, yes,
- 27:25Speaker 3: it's cool if you're someone who likes to have fun
- 27:28Speaker 3: and you know, go out and celebrate whatever. But if
- 27:31Speaker 3: that's the only thing you do, you know, that can
- 27:35Speaker 3: get old kind of quick, I learned as I got older.
- 27:38Speaker 3: So that was something I kind of grew out of.
- 27:39Speaker 1: A lit fair enough. And then when I was younger,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I don't know, what it was.
- 27:44Speaker 3: I just thought if a dude had on some kind
- 27:47Speaker 3: of ring, like on his thumb or on his pinky
- 27:49Speaker 3: and he could play the guitar, he was the coolest
- 27:52Speaker 3: dude of all time.
- 27:54Speaker 1: So you just like were like a class ring on
- 27:56Speaker 1: your No. I never did Oh, I never did it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I didn't wear a ring till I got mad at it.
- 28:00Speaker 1: And now I think I look cool. You know what
- 28:02Speaker 1: I'm saying. I get that.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I just thought it was a kind of a
- 28:05Speaker 3: cool look, like, Oh, this dude's like interesting, he's mysterious.
- 28:08Speaker 1: This guy's taken. Yeah, I'm trying to be like that guy. Also,
- 28:12Speaker 1: there's probably people on there.
- 28:13Speaker 2: They had a thing for people who were taken back
- 28:15Speaker 2: in the day.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I don't know if anyone has put that into that.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But there are people who that's their type. Kylie got it.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Kylie was attracted to bad boys, she says. Sarah was
- 28:28Speaker 3: this is great frosted tips? Oh god, were you ever
- 28:32Speaker 3: into the dudes with frosted tips?
- 28:34Speaker 1: Man?
- 28:35Speaker 2: No, they didn't have a car or a job to
- 28:37Speaker 2: afford it or get to their hair appointments.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven. All right, into
- 28:45Speaker 1: these next couple of days.
- 28:46Speaker 2: It's going to be sunny fifty today, sixty five tomorrow, Friday.
- 28:49Speaker 2: We know we're getting a system kind of rolling through
- 28:51Speaker 2: the area, rolling into Saturday, but all eyes are still
- 28:55Speaker 2: on that Saint Patty's Day pub crawl. Thanks for our
- 28:56Speaker 2: friends over at bud Light, rain Shine, snow, whatever it
- 28:59Speaker 2: may be, Downtown Fargo's gonna be the place to be.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I know they did move the parade by a week,
- 29:05Speaker 2: but we're pop crawling. We're gonna have some fun and
- 29:07Speaker 2: we got so many different bars participating. We're kicking it
- 29:10Speaker 2: off at two o'clock. I believe it's at Sports Bar.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Then we're heading over to Blarney Stone. We've got all
- 29:15Speaker 2: the details at Big nine eighty seven dot com. Also
- 29:17Speaker 2: a reminder to get your babies that are lined up.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it should be a great time. Rainshine, sleeper snow.
- 29:23Speaker 3: We will be there.
- 29:24Speaker 1: That's how we do all right. Well, you've hear all.
- 29:27Speaker 3: The time about the negativities with social media, and you
- 29:31Speaker 3: know a lot bad comes with it, for sure, but
- 29:33Speaker 3: then you hear stories like this and you do remember the.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Good parts of social media.
- 29:37Speaker 3: This is an awesome story about a bride for Gabe's good.
- 29:41Speaker 1: News of the data. You're gonna give us all the fields.
- 29:46Speaker 1: It's very very sweet.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yes. This woman named Carly was devastated when she learned
- 29:53Speaker 3: that the order for her dream wedding reception dress was
- 29:57Speaker 3: canceled just weeks before the big day. Imagine, I don't
- 30:01Speaker 3: know how something like that happens.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Hey, your weddings in a couple weeks? But oops, how
- 30:06Speaker 1: is that amassing? Yeah? Right?
- 30:09Speaker 3: She shared the disappointment on TikTok, hoping someone might help
- 30:12Speaker 3: her find the same dress somewhere else, and as you
- 30:16Speaker 3: can guess, the post quickly goes viral. There's like five
- 30:19Speaker 3: to ten million views on this thing. Oh wow, and
- 30:21Speaker 3: there were tons of people offering support and things that
- 30:25Speaker 3: they might be able to do to help her out. Right. Well,
- 30:27Speaker 3: this fashion influencer named Madeline White if you've heard of her,
- 30:32Speaker 3: she saw the video and realized she owned the exact
- 30:35Speaker 3: same dress in the exact same size. So Madeline, who
- 30:40Speaker 3: originally bought this dress for like a vacation, it wasn't
- 30:43Speaker 3: even for a wedding, she decided to send it to Carle,
- 30:47Speaker 3: packaged it with some extra gifts a heartfelt note, and
- 30:50Speaker 3: that response has been viewed about twenty million times. Now
- 30:55Speaker 3: Carle who is getting ready to get married here in April.
- 30:58Speaker 3: She was deeply touched, of course, and she was so
- 31:02Speaker 3: just happy with all the overwhelming support from other women
- 31:05Speaker 3: offering their own dresses. She described the experience as the
- 31:09Speaker 3: sweetest thing that has ever happened in my life. How
- 31:13Speaker 3: one act of generosity created a rippling effect of positivity.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Absolutely new revery. I don't know what is Yeah, the
- 31:23Speaker 1: chances of that happening so slim. Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 3: And also I'm I have never owned a wedding dress,
- 31:29Speaker 3: so I don't know the attachment to him. But it
- 31:32Speaker 3: can be tough to just send your wedding dress to
- 31:34Speaker 3: someone you don't know if it's gonna get ruined, if
- 31:37Speaker 3: you're gonna get it back, do you even want it back?
