Transcript
- Lucas: Luna, ready for another Danish adventure? Luna: Always! What are we learning today? Lucas: Today we're going into nature again, but with two new words: bjerg and flod. Luna: Bjerg and flod. Are those mountain and river? Lucas: Exactly right! Bjerg means mountain. Flod means river. Luna: Bjerg. Flod. Let me try: bjerg. Lucas: Perfect. Now flod. Luna: Flod. That one feels a bit smoother. Lucas: Great. Now let's put them in sentences. Listen: Jeg ser et bjerg. That means 'I see a mountain.' Luna: Jeg ser et bjerg. So 'jeg ser' is 'I see', and 'et bjerg' is 'a mountain'. Lucas: Exactly. And if it's a river: Jeg ser en flod. 'En flod' because river is common gender. Luna: Jeg ser en flod. I see a river. Got it. Lucas: Now let's add adjectives. Bjerget er højt. The mountain is high. Luna: Bjerget er højt. Højt is high or tall? Lucas: For things like mountains, it's high. For people, it's tall. Now: Floden er lang. The river is long. Luna: Floden er lang. Lang is long, right? Lucas: Yes. Let's practice all four sentences together. Repeat after me: Jeg ser et bjerg. Luna: Jeg ser et bjerg. Lucas: Jeg ser en flod. Luna: Jeg ser en flod. Lucas: Bjerget er højt. Luna: Bjerget er højt. Lucas: Floden er lang. Luna: Floden er lang. I love that! Now I can talk about a mountain and a river. Lucas: Let's imagine a little scene. You're hiking in Denmark, and you see a mountain. Luna: Okay. Jeg ser et bjerg. Bjerget er højt. Lucas: Then you walk to a river. What do you say? Luna: Jeg ser en flod. Floden er lang. Lucas: Nailed it. Now let's switch roles. You ask me what I see. Luna: Hvad ser du, Lucas? Lucas: Jeg ser et bjerg og en flod. Bjerget er højt, og floden er lang. Luna: Oh, you combined them! That's nice. Lucas: You can too. Try: Jeg ser et bjerg og en flod. Luna: Jeg ser et bjerg og en flod. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's do a quick recall from earlier episodes. Remember 'skov' and 'strand'? Luna: Yeah! Skov is forest, strand is beach. Lucas: Good. So now you can say: Jeg ser en skov, et bjerg og en flod. Luna: Jeg ser en skov, et bjerg og en flod. That's a lot of nature! Lucas: And you could add 'strand' too. Let's not get too many though. One step at a time. Luna: Yes, stay small. That's the Fexingo way. Lucas: Speaking of Fexingo, a quick thing. Many of you have asked how we keep this show going without ads. Luna: Yeah, I've wondered that too. It seems like a lot of work. Lucas: It is, but it's a labor of love. And we're able to do it because some listeners chip in monthly through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: That's awesome. It really helps keep everything ad-free and focused on learning. Lucas: Exactly. So if Fexingo has helped you make progress, consider joining that small group. No pressure though. Luna: Right. Now back to mountains and rivers. Can you tell me a short story with these words? Lucas: Sure. I went for a walk. Jeg ser et bjerg. Bjerget er højt. Så går jeg til floden. Floden er lang. Det er en god dag. Luna: I understood that! You saw a mountain, then went to a river, and it was a good day. Lucas: Yes. And 'Det er en god dag' means 'It is a good day'. Luna: Det er en god dag. I like that. Let's practice the whole story together. Lucas: Repeat after me: Jeg ser et bjerg. Luna: Jeg ser et bjerg. Lucas: Bjerget er højt. Luna: Bjerget er højt. Lucas: Så går jeg til floden. Luna: Så går jeg til floden. 'Så' means 'then'? Lucas: Yes. Then I go to the river. Luna: Floden er lang. Lucas: Det er en god dag. Luna: Det er en god dag. Perfect. I think I've got it. Lucas: You have. Just remember: bjerg is mountain, flod is river. Et bjerg, en flod. Luna: Et bjerg, en flod. Bjerget er højt, floden er lang. Tak, Lucas! Lucas: Det var så lidt. Practice these sentences until next time. Farvel! Luna: Farvel, everyone!
