- 0:32Speaker 1: good friend of the show, sign Guy Dudley, LOUI E
- 0:36Speaker 1: dangerously LOUD'ANGELI correct?
- 0:39Speaker 3: I say got them all?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Oh you got him.
- 0:41Speaker 4: He's got a new nickname always ready because we just
- 0:43Speaker 4: aske him five minutes ago.
- 0:44Speaker 1: He was ready to go. Oh my gimmick, I'll get
- 0:48Speaker 1: over huge with that.
- 0:50Speaker 5: I'm not like Raven where it's like Johnny Polo, Raven, Scottie,
- 0:55Speaker 5: Flamingo Scott.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And you ever just sitting on the toilet ball look
- 0:59Speaker 1: up Gallows with many how many names he's had.
- 1:02Speaker 3: It's it's pretty nuts. And you've if you go through.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It, that's actually really true.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Yeah, very very good point, Louke.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Pleasure to having on the show. Also, pleasure to have
- 1:10Speaker 1: you here at Impact. I mean you're out of the
- 1:11Speaker 1: wrestling business for fifteen years, like eleven or twelve? Yeah?
- 1:15Speaker 3: What and what? What what did this to you? What
- 1:18Speaker 3: made you?
- 1:19Speaker 1: You know what? Man?
- 1:20Speaker 5: It was this kind of like you know, I was
- 1:21Speaker 5: at I was at CIRCUSLA for eleven years in Las Vegas.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Had a great run there.
- 1:26Speaker 5: It was awesome, but you know, we relaunched the brand
- 1:29Speaker 5: and things like that, and it's kind of like passion
- 1:31Speaker 5: was going away to be frank and for me having
- 1:35Speaker 5: a great nine years there, in the last two years
- 1:37Speaker 5: kind of being like, eh, it was you know, it
- 1:39Speaker 5: was a disservice to them.
- 1:40Speaker 1: To me, I wasn't feeling it.
- 1:43Speaker 5: So when time came to go, I left and I
- 1:45Speaker 5: took some time off, and unbeknownst to h everyone, I
- 1:49Speaker 5: got reached out to on LinkedIn by Dan our Production,
- 1:54Speaker 5: a man of everything, saying, hey, my name is Dan.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I worked for a company called Anthem Anthem and.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I just completely assumed Dreamer, like oh no, no, no.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I thought it is crazy. What Dan rey all.
- 2:07Speaker 5: He's a great guy for real, And he's like, I
- 2:12Speaker 5: have the email. I work for Anthem. We're having trouble
- 2:15Speaker 5: with uh with some sales thing for this company called
- 2:17Speaker 5: Impact Wrestling. I'm like, is this a rib Like I
- 2:21Speaker 5: was like huh, So I said, sure, like I'll talk,
- 2:24Speaker 5: that's fine. So he calls me up and we're chatting.
- 2:27Speaker 5: I was like, hey, do you know, like I know
- 2:29Speaker 5: Scott and knowing everybody there for like twenty five years.
- 2:32Speaker 1: He's like, what Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 4: It was literally say this is why we have you
- 2:36Speaker 4: on Major Mark.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Dude, today's years old.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I just completely assumed that Dreamer just fucking scouted you
- 2:42Speaker 1: and you know, said, hey, there's a spot.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I know you know you'vent circing is really crazy.
- 2:48Speaker 5: So it was it was basically like a recruiting cold call,
- 2:51Speaker 5: and then we start chatting. I came on as a
- 2:54Speaker 5: consultant for the first like for like five months. The
- 2:58Speaker 5: initial discussion was also like, hey, if it go as well,
- 3:00Speaker 5: we'd like to maybe talk a full time job stuff
- 3:02Speaker 5: like that.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So I ended up what happened and like it was
- 3:05Speaker 1: junior July.
- 3:06Speaker 5: We start having those conversations, and by September I was
- 3:11Speaker 5: in You.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Started last April and Poughkeepsie, right, was that Philly the week? Yeah?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Philly? Yeah yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 5: And then look, it was really strange in Philly, to
- 3:20Speaker 5: be honest, and I've shared this with a bunch of people.
- 3:22Speaker 5: It was like stepping back into the wrestling world and
- 3:26Speaker 5: then also not being familiar with a lot like a.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Lot I didn't know many of the guys, like anyone's name, hey.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Man, Hamburger, Wendy Berger. I didn't know.
- 3:39Speaker 5: I didn't know a lot of the guys. I mean,
- 3:40Speaker 5: I knew like faces and names, piece it all together.
- 3:43Speaker 5: So it's a little apprehensive.
- 3:44Speaker 1: To be honest. Yeah, it was like it was a
- 3:46Speaker 1: little strange.
- 3:47Speaker 5: And then in Poughkeepsie, you kind of that's where it
- 3:50Speaker 5: starts sinking in, Like, Yeah, first of all, this company
- 3:52Speaker 5: works their asses off. The locker room is cool. It's
- 3:55Speaker 5: everything I've heard, because you know, sometimes you hear that
- 3:57Speaker 5: ship like yeah, oh this locker room is great, and
- 3:59Speaker 5: you're going suck. It's just like okay, you know. But
- 4:02Speaker 5: that's that's kind of what brought me back in. And
- 4:04Speaker 5: I see impact as like there's just so much we
- 4:06Speaker 5: can do, so much we are doing that we haven't
- 4:09Speaker 5: been able to do before and whatnot. But it's not
- 4:12Speaker 5: on what not what not, but impact is on whatnot,
- 4:15Speaker 5: by the ways. So it was a combination of opportunity
- 4:18Speaker 5: and just I always had a passion for wrestling, and
- 4:21Speaker 5: I always knew I would get back.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Into the business. It was always a goal of mine.
- 4:25Speaker 5: That I have two daughters and they were a lot older,
- 4:27Speaker 5: so they're thirteen and seventeen now. Because of the travel
- 4:30Speaker 5: and everything, so that is cool.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Timing wise, you got to be home for a lot
- 4:35Speaker 1: of their like, you know.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that really is.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Super important to me because I always thought about it.
- 4:39Speaker 5: If I go back to wrestling, it's going to be
- 4:40Speaker 5: what it is as far as travel goes. But I
- 4:43Speaker 5: also have the you know, massive, a massive what's incentive
- 4:48Speaker 5: because I work out of my house, so I see
- 4:49Speaker 5: my kids like NonStop, and so it all bounces out.
- 4:52Speaker 5: That's really long answer, but it was always something I
- 4:55Speaker 5: wanted to do. When this opportunity came up, and it
- 4:56Speaker 5: took me a minute to kind of get it. You know,
- 5:00Speaker 5: business has changed since I've been around, but totally love
- 5:03Speaker 5: it now.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So that's now, let's talk about your earliest.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You're like, that's great in ew. No, well, and we'll
- 5:11Speaker 1: get to that too, But I want to talk about
- 5:12Speaker 1: you as a kid growing up, Like, what were the
- 5:14Speaker 1: things you were into, the toys you were liked, first
- 5:16Speaker 1: impressions of wrestling, things like that.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Yeah, so when my first toys were Star Wars nineteen
- 5:22Speaker 5: seventy seven.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I have the whole set. Now. Obviously I was too young.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I grew up.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I was born in eighty five, and I didn't recognize
- 5:28Speaker 4: or realize what Star Wars was until like the re
- 5:30Speaker 4: releases in the nineties. Yeah, Like now I'm like, well,
- 5:33Speaker 4: I need to have those original ones because you know,
- 5:36Speaker 4: even we just want to do a toy store today, and
- 5:38Speaker 4: just looking at the whole set there, the old like
- 5:41Speaker 4: the Millennium Falcon or the main Ewalk village. It it's
- 5:43Speaker 4: so much cool stuff and I could understand how a
- 5:46Speaker 4: kid from that time, we're just like their lives were
- 5:49Speaker 4: taken over by this.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was mind blown. I was, you know, five or
- 5:52Speaker 1: six years old.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I remember Star Wars like was blowing up and the
- 5:56Speaker 5: toys were all sold out and it's not.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Like it is now where you can go. Yeah, I
- 5:59Speaker 1: guess that's something of them. But they weren't like just
- 6:01Speaker 1: all over the shelves. It was like a rat race
- 6:03Speaker 1: kind of thing.
- 6:03Speaker 5: It was a right but they had an end cap
- 6:05Speaker 5: setup that I have a picture of that's just nuts,
- 6:07Speaker 5: like from when they originally were sold in toy stores,
- 6:11Speaker 5: like the original setups. But I remember my mom coming
- 6:14Speaker 5: home one day from Kitty City, which.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Was yeah yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Which was the toy store by my house, was just
- 6:19Speaker 5: a big bag of every figure except for the Jahua
- 6:23Speaker 5: because the Jahua was really hard to find initially, and
- 6:26Speaker 5: I remember for Christmas, my cousin got me the jah
- 6:29Speaker 5: Wa and dude, I ripped those things open. I played
- 6:32Speaker 5: every scene you can imagine from from Star Wars and
- 6:35Speaker 5: the guns and and then so like when Empire Strikes
- 6:38Speaker 5: Back came back, I was.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Huge in the like Hoth and all those place sets.
- 6:42Speaker 3: That's what that was.
- 6:43Speaker 4: That was there today, the toy store, all the cool
- 6:45Speaker 4: hot place sets.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Love.
- 6:46Speaker 4: They didn't recreate that stuff for the power of the
- 6:48Speaker 4: force when we were kids.
- 6:49Speaker 1: You know, not the hot, not the yeah, well not eventually, no,
- 6:54Speaker 1: is it I was just thinking, as you're going to
- 6:55Speaker 1: do that, isn't it crazy that, like all the things
- 6:57Speaker 1: have happened in your life that you're probably crazy epic
- 7:00Speaker 1: stuff that you forgot, But these like impressions that toys
- 7:03Speaker 1: made on you when you were a kid just stick.
- 7:05Speaker 1: That's like something about our show that I think, like
- 7:07Speaker 1: if you were a collector and you get it, you
- 7:08Speaker 1: get it. And it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't.
- 7:10Speaker 1: But if you know, you know, and there's like no
- 7:12Speaker 1: need for the explanation because it's so totally deeply sentimental
- 7:16Speaker 1: and impressionable. Because like these vivid details, that's crazy. I
- 7:20Speaker 1: remember something five or six years years old.
- 7:22Speaker 5: It was it was like it was yesterday, bag toys
- 7:26Speaker 5: and you go from there. And then for like when
- 7:28Speaker 5: I got into wrestling, and I got into wrestling through
- 7:31Speaker 5: my my grandfather and when so I would go so
- 7:34Speaker 5: my mom worked, so a lot of times he would like,
- 7:36Speaker 5: babysit me, watch me whatever, and we would watch wrestling.
- 7:40Speaker 5: And I remember watching I think it was NWA. They
- 7:45Speaker 5: put a big red X across the screen. Did you
- 7:47Speaker 5: ever see those back in the day, So when guys
- 7:49Speaker 5: would get like color, they would red exit.
- 7:51Speaker 1: On the Oh wow, okay, yeah, I didn't know that.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It is like and you grew up in the Philly area,
- 7:56Speaker 1: so I had all the TV, so I think it
- 7:57Speaker 1: was NWA. I don't think it was WWP time, but
- 8:01Speaker 1: that red X caught me. I was like, why is
- 8:02Speaker 1: there a red X on the screen? And then all
- 8:04Speaker 1: of a sudden you were like, what's behind the red X?
- 8:06Speaker 1: And then that's how wrestling kind of started for me.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And there was an angle I saw with like the Barbarian,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Jimmy Valliant, the Warlord and Pistol Pez Wattley and they
- 8:14Speaker 1: just and Paul Jones. They killed pistol Pez Wattley and
- 8:18Speaker 1: all this.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Like just beating him up and there's like blood everywhere,
- 8:21Speaker 5: and I was like, this is awesome, and that was
- 8:23Speaker 5: kind of my entry point. And then I start watching WWF.
- 8:25Speaker 5: I was always watching NWA, HULLL Cogan and everything like
- 8:28Speaker 5: that for a show at the Spectrum was in nineteen
- 8:30Speaker 5: eighty six. It's funny because Tommy and I were just
- 8:33Speaker 5: talking about it was what was your first show? And
- 8:34Speaker 5: I still remember the whole lineup. He's like, that's a
- 8:37Speaker 5: hell of a show, and I was like, looking back
- 8:38Speaker 5: on it, you're like, dude, that it.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Was actually when if you could find like the program
- 8:41Speaker 3: or something to that.
- 8:42Speaker 5: I found the prison broadcast like because I remember back well,
- 8:46Speaker 5: you guys don't.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Maybe don't know, yeah, but I'm aware.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, Like so day would air in Philadelphia and
- 8:51Speaker 5: New York and Boston.
- 8:53Speaker 1: The house show is the next day. Yea, So that
- 8:55Speaker 1: was awesome.
- 8:56Speaker 5: I always wanted to go, but if I couldn't go,
- 8:57Speaker 5: I could always watch it. So now you can watch
- 8:59Speaker 5: it again. So I pretty watched that show again. I
- 9:01Speaker 5: wish I could see eleven. I went to and I
- 9:03Speaker 5: was a kid, right, Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I mean the best part of those for me was
- 9:05Speaker 4: like you buy the program and had like the match
- 9:07Speaker 4: lineups and those are st like iconic.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Oh my god, my mom, you know, rest rest in peace.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But she threw those out. Oh man, And I tell
- 9:14Speaker 1: you man, I had. That was my thing.
- 9:16Speaker 5: All I wanted was the lineup card because they were
- 9:18Speaker 5: the coolest things like ever. And I have once from
- 9:22Speaker 5: like later years, but I don't have like eighty six,
- 9:24Speaker 5: eighty seven, eighty eight when it was on the NWA
- 9:26Speaker 5: used to like type it on like a white piece
- 9:28Speaker 5: of paper, like it was not like even the lines, No,
- 9:32Speaker 5: it was just literally like a white sheet.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But it was really cool. Did this wrestling Fantom of
- 9:38Speaker 1: your LJ and guy did that to turn into that? Yeah?
- 9:40Speaker 5: So pretty fast, Like so we're just getting w magazine.
- 9:43Speaker 5: I still have like the first issue He'll Billy Jim
- 9:45Speaker 5: on the cover and all that. I think he was
- 9:47Speaker 5: the first cover.
- 9:48Speaker 1: And inside were the figures and I was like, I
- 9:52Speaker 1: need like all these like right away, and the same
- 9:56Speaker 1: same kind of thing.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I was going to Kitty City and they had they
- 10:00Speaker 5: had a lot of like schnook.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, like people have these stories that. Yeah, yeah, they're
- 10:05Speaker 1: peg warmers, right. It was tough to get it was
- 10:09Speaker 1: characters for me. It was tough to get the iron cheek. Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 5: I could get stud I could get Andre Hogan was
- 10:16Speaker 5: definitely around, Schnooking wasn't around, but the iron cheek was
- 10:19Speaker 5: really hard to find. And again my mom picked me up.
- 10:22Speaker 5: I can't one day hands me a bag. There's the
- 10:24Speaker 5: chic and you're just like yes with the boots. And
- 10:27Speaker 5: I still have all these. I mean, they've all been
- 10:28Speaker 5: played with.
- 10:29Speaker 1: They they don't age well if they've if they've been loved,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but do.
- 10:34Speaker 5: You guys like mind have like blood on them? Because
- 10:36Speaker 5: I used to put markers on them a color.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I would pick the Crayola, like the Craola marker and
- 10:41Speaker 4: if you squeeze it on, it would like drip blood down.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But it was washable marker.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You never did that. Brian is something where he would
- 10:47Speaker 1: bite them.
- 10:47Speaker 4: He's like his childhood bite mark I was like a
- 10:50Speaker 4: baby when these came out, you know, so like I
- 10:53Speaker 4: still have all my childhood ones. Like Jim Kninhard's fingers
- 10:55Speaker 4: are off because his fingers, you know, you can actually
- 10:58Speaker 4: bite you on each fing because it was.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Like a baby get to destroy.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Yes, it was yeah, seriously right, yeah, so mine not
- 11:03Speaker 5: And then if I didn't have a red marker that day,
- 11:05Speaker 5: they were bleeding green.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It was just you know, you know what. I really
- 11:10Speaker 1: like those. So those figures are awesome. With the A W.
- 11:13Speaker 5: A Remcos oh your Remco guy all time favorite wow
- 11:16Speaker 5: because they could move and yeah, of course in the
- 11:18Speaker 5: ring the A W.
- 11:19Speaker 1: A ring was just so ridiculous. But yeah, so, and
- 11:22Speaker 1: they have colors and I still have all those who
- 11:24Speaker 1: did you have of those? I had? The first first
- 11:27Speaker 1: guys I brought were road Warriors in the one pack
- 11:30Speaker 1: and the other pack was it was Rick Martel and Backwinkle.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I believe it's something with.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Claire and Martel.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it was Flair Martel.
- 11:39Speaker 5: And then I had those two guys. I had Stephen Original,
- 11:43Speaker 5: Steve Regal, Yeah, Jamie Garvin and Electric Electricity.
- 11:48Speaker 4: That precious. I just bought that figure like mint in
- 11:51Speaker 4: package maybe like two or three years ago. That precious,
- 11:53Speaker 4: and like none of them have what's the like preserve
- 11:57Speaker 4: even a brand new one is like melting, like the plastic.
- 12:00Speaker 4: There's something in the plastic, like you can't find.
- 12:02Speaker 3: A perfect one. It doesn't.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I literally opened it up and it's like disintegrating because
- 12:07Speaker 4: it was just they just took it from some other
- 12:09Speaker 4: toy line.
- 12:09Speaker 3: They didn't produce it themselves.
- 12:11Speaker 1: That's crazy. But Remco is coming back, I know. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: think Brian told me.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You might have to start recollecting those.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Well, I used to book matches and I don't think
- 12:18Speaker 1: I would do that now.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Hear about your fig fed?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Was your fig fed?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Did you?
- 12:23Speaker 1: Did you click remcos into the end? Because that last
- 12:25Speaker 1: set the single card ones are ridiculously.
- 12:28Speaker 5: I think there was a I think I was still
- 12:30Speaker 5: into wrestling, but it was we couldn't buy toys and
- 12:33Speaker 5: stuff like that, so occasionally just kind of just like faded.
- 12:36Speaker 5: I think my last wrestling purchase was I think I
- 12:39Speaker 5: stole uh oh yeah, So remember the Rocky Ring the Rocky.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yes, well right, the Hogan is naked. You know he's
- 12:48Speaker 4: in there, but he's like a naked Ever did you
- 12:50Speaker 4: buy that or yeah?
- 12:51Speaker 1: I might.
- 12:52Speaker 4: The Hogan he's wearing like skin colored trucks.
- 12:58Speaker 1: No, I he definitely didn't have any accessory.
- 13:01Speaker 4: No, it's just like a skid color you ever see this?
- 13:04Speaker 4: I got to pull it up later. Maybe the one
- 13:07Speaker 4: I saw was No, they make that. They make like
- 13:12Speaker 4: you know, Rocky clubber lang Uh and Lis, But this
- 13:15Speaker 4: particular one has like it's like a molded trunks.
- 13:17Speaker 3: But I'm gonna look it up. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm
- 13:20Speaker 3: gonna look it up.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I had to steal him. I don't have any money
- 13:23Speaker 1: I needed him for I needed him for bookings.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you had a Remco fig fed. Yes, how did
- 13:29Speaker 3: that go? Any memories of that?
- 13:31Speaker 1: I just had a lot of fun with him.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Man.
- 13:33Speaker 5: I used to tape record the matches because I would
- 13:35Speaker 5: call them also, so you play by play.
- 13:38Speaker 1: That was one of those things that I like, I
- 13:40Speaker 1: think it like. It exploded my wrestling fandom because I
- 13:43Speaker 1: had my own little wrestling fed that I felt in
- 13:45Speaker 1: charge of and stuff. Right, Yeah, it's only bound by
- 13:48Speaker 1: your creativity kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:50Speaker 5: And I would try to book Loops and this was
- 13:52Speaker 5: when I was really young Loops. Oh yeah, we'd have
- 13:54Speaker 5: a one pm show.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Ye what prey forward thinking, Well, it was in my bedroom.
- 14:01Speaker 1: The other was in like my sister's bed was different arenas.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I had a lot. Yeah, that's a weird thing that
- 14:07Speaker 1: it was just me, But I didn't grasp like different
- 14:09Speaker 1: towns until I actually became wrestling.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I went to different towns.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard to be like they're live in Pittsburgh.
- 14:15Speaker 1: It's hard for me to even like really as a kid,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I didn't like, did you grasp that?
- 14:18Speaker 4: Well? One time I remember was watching like Sunday Night
- 14:21Speaker 4: Heat and it was like Big Boss Man versus Test
- 14:23Speaker 4: and they did the same match like weeks prior to
- 14:25Speaker 4: NASA call the same house.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I'm like what, I'm like, it's the same match.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I used to be blown away by that and now
- 14:33Speaker 5: like because we didn't, I didn't know it then as
- 14:36Speaker 5: much as I know it now, where it's like, yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 5: the house shows were all the same matches and like
- 14:40Speaker 5: NWA would run like they did that one it was
- 14:43Speaker 5: Steamboat and Flare and like Maryland and they drove up
- 14:45Speaker 5: the Philly and did it the same day, same like
- 14:47Speaker 5: fifty five minute match.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean that's pretty nuts. But yeah, I am.
- 14:52Speaker 1: What's really nuts is the people that know this and
- 14:54Speaker 1: then follow the shows and keep cut like you know
- 14:56Speaker 1: what I mean, Like whatever your red hat sign, guy,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I'm seeing him for like three nights in all, I'm
- 15:00Speaker 1: going dude, you've seen the same exact so I guess
- 15:05Speaker 1: I appreciate the loyalty. And when I went to college is.
- 15:08Speaker 5: When I start and that's when I start getting in
- 15:09Speaker 5: the ec W and then I start going to the
- 15:11Speaker 5: I went to school university at Hartford, so Hartford Civic Center,
- 15:14Speaker 5: Springfield Civic Center, Boston Spots. Yeah, but that's when I
- 15:18Speaker 5: kind of was like, what's going on here? You know,
- 15:21Speaker 5: I R S versus Razor. Ramone has the same finish
- 15:23Speaker 5: that it did last week.
- 15:25Speaker 1: He goes, Razor goes over and he leaves and he
- 15:28Speaker 1: gets called back or like what so so get into that,
- 15:31Speaker 1: how did this fandom turn into we're all crazy for
- 15:36Speaker 1: our fandom turns into that we want to get involved
- 15:39Speaker 1: in this.
- 15:39Speaker 5: You know, for me, it was I was pretty out
- 15:43Speaker 5: of it. You know, I just stopped watching probably somewhere.
- 15:46Speaker 1: In high school. I want to say, in at your
- 15:49Speaker 1: age range that like early nineties wrestling is probably not I.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Would I did watch it, but you're like Hazebro wrestling
- 15:55Speaker 4: figures for you then there was no house.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but like I'm thinking, you're too old and that's
- 15:59Speaker 1: probably like a thing to your sorry to your age
- 16:02Speaker 1: and you know, what I mean, who who, Like I'm
- 16:04Speaker 1: the obviously like as I got older, I got like
- 16:06Speaker 1: ecw nttitude or I'm like, oh yeah, I was cool,
- 16:08Speaker 1: kind of like natural person. It was a nice bridge
- 16:10Speaker 1: for us to like from the cartoon wrestling. We kind
- 16:12Speaker 1: of grew up onto that, but you definitely didn't have that.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It was like it was a weird time.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Like I would go to the Philadelphia Civic Center to
- 16:19Speaker 5: watch WCW shows that had like two hundred people.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It was that time in the business where I was like,
- 16:23Speaker 1: oh my god, right, scandal down. Yeah, everything was just bad,
- 16:27Speaker 1: and so I just kind of faded away.
- 16:28Speaker 5: And then I went to college and like I maybe
- 16:31Speaker 5: my junior year or something, I came home for Christmas
- 16:34Speaker 5: break and I put on Philadelpha was scrolling through channels,
- 16:37Speaker 5: and I see Eddie Gilbert and Terry Funk beating the
- 16:39Speaker 5: shit out of each other with a chain. I'm like,
- 16:41Speaker 5: what's this because Funk you know.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Eighty nine or yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 5: I was always a big Gilbert fan. So I'm watching
- 16:47Speaker 5: us like this is awesome, and they're like, you know,
- 16:49Speaker 5: I was it ultra class or something's coming to New Philadelphia.
- 16:52Speaker 5: I'm like Philadelphia and I was like class ninety three something. Yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 5: I did go to that, so it was maybe ninety
- 16:59Speaker 5: two this happened, and I, uh, I remember seeing Philly
- 17:03Speaker 5: and I'm like Swanson and written.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Are like, where the hell is that?
- 17:05Speaker 5: Like I had no idea really, and then I went
- 17:08Speaker 5: to Uh, I went to a TV taping. I think
- 17:10Speaker 5: I went by myself and I have a lot of
- 17:12Speaker 5: friends who are still in the wrestling, but like I
- 17:14Speaker 5: remember the first match was like Ivan coll Off and somebody.
- 17:17Speaker 5: I was like, whoa Ivan coll Offs here? Because I'm
- 17:18Speaker 5: remembering like the n W a SO and that was
- 17:21Speaker 5: Eastern Championship Wrestling early.
- 17:23Speaker 1: People don't realize people on that roster, like Snooker Morocco
- 17:26Speaker 1: was yeah, singles es, you know, like he was here.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Tray heath Man thought him everything he knows.
- 17:33Speaker 4: It's take a quick little break here to show that
- 17:35Speaker 4: that that that Hoga that came to the ring is
- 17:37Speaker 4: indeed naked. I'm showing you a picture that is the
- 17:40Speaker 4: one I had. Just it's just skin colored trucks. It's
- 17:43Speaker 4: like non acceptable, right, Like that's why I don't get
- 17:48Speaker 4: it for my collection. I can't listen. I love Hogan,
- 17:51Speaker 4: but I don't know if I love Hogan's Hog. I
- 17:54Speaker 4: don't know if I can display Hogan's Hog. You know
- 17:56Speaker 4: what I'm saying, everyone, I don't know if I get
- 17:59Speaker 4: this is display like proud Like one time I bought
- 18:02Speaker 4: an l j and Miss Elizabeth it was a prototype
- 18:05Speaker 4: and she was naked and like this, this like the
- 18:07Speaker 4: guys in the factory made this, you know, real, this
- 18:11Speaker 4: was just like in the factory. This's non mess peers
- 18:13Speaker 4: that they made it. Kind of like it's a little
- 18:14Speaker 4: not like a rib but like a little inside joke.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Had to be a rib of the Ljaan designers or something. Dude,
- 18:21Speaker 4: but Pubic care naked nipples, I swear to God. So
- 18:25Speaker 4: I bought it because I collect like pre production stuff.
- 18:28Speaker 4: And then I got like, well, what am I gonna
- 18:30Speaker 4: do with this because I can't Like Macham would be
- 18:32Speaker 4: very upset if I had this like proudly and it's
- 18:38Speaker 4: just so oddso like I call like a backer, like
- 18:41Speaker 4: it was it was on display, but like things were
- 18:42Speaker 4: covering us, you didn't know. And then we put out
- 18:45Speaker 4: a YouTube video like the history of the l j NS,
- 18:47Speaker 4: and I held it up, we blurred it right, and
- 18:49Speaker 4: we talked about and then someone contacted me. Long story short,
- 18:52Speaker 4: I sold it for forty five thousand dollars.
- 18:54Speaker 1: What'd you buy it for?
- 18:56Speaker 3: It was in a whole lot that Oh my god.
- 18:58Speaker 1: But so you just crushed.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I mean I made I definitely made money.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Definitely were like getting rid of it because you can't
- 19:03Speaker 1: display it anyway. That was strange man across the line.
- 19:08Speaker 3: So mine was like a prototype.
- 19:09Speaker 4: It was all resident unpainted, right, But then once this
- 19:12Speaker 4: was public that I had sold it another one. It's
- 19:15Speaker 4: still on eBay to this day, painted like painted nipples
- 19:17Speaker 4: like everything. So how many of these naked Elizabeths are
- 19:21Speaker 4: out there? Naked Elizabeth? It's it's very just. But it's
- 19:31Speaker 4: been sitting up there for years. I don't think there's
- 19:33Speaker 4: any I mean, how many people in the market for
- 19:35Speaker 4: naked Elizabeth figure?
- 19:36Speaker 3: You know, like you don't have many kids. I have
- 19:38Speaker 3: two daughters. I can have a naked Miss Elizabeth of
- 19:40Speaker 3: my shelf.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Like it's like, it's very strange, all.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Right, So how do you get into e c W.
- 19:47Speaker 3: You go as a fan? How does that all work?
- 19:50Speaker 1: When as a fan for Ultra Clash and then oh
- 19:53Speaker 1: my gosh, I just.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Saw recently, I just saw it.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Sorry, I put in miss Elizabeth l j n highest
- 20:04Speaker 1: thing and nothing's there.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Go to like solder or over listings, completed sales. Yeah,
- 20:09Speaker 4: breaking news. I swear I just saw it a couple
- 20:14Speaker 4: of days ago.
- 20:15Speaker 1: On there.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Look at this, we're talking about e c W and
- 20:18Speaker 3: naked Elizabeth figures.
- 20:20Speaker 1: These are things that don't I don't wake up thinking about.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Here's the one that was on ebays Like you can, dude,
- 20:26Speaker 3: what I That's what I wanted, the love of reaction.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Let's get out of here, like molded, molded, pubt get out.
- 20:36Speaker 3: No way that it's wild alright, So anyway e c W.
- 20:44Speaker 3: So you go to a c W show by yourself.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yeah, so I went to.
- 20:49Speaker 5: TV taping and then I went to Ultra Clash, which
- 20:51Speaker 5: was you know, it was like what was it, uh
- 20:54Speaker 5: Stan Hanson Abbey, Oh wow, Eddie Gilbert and Funk main event,
- 20:59Speaker 5: Oh okay, and soul of It. And that was the
- 21:01Speaker 5: night that Eddie like quit and like they had the
- 21:03Speaker 5: little shoot in the back. Did you ever hear about that?
- 21:06Speaker 3: Kind of sort of But I never know who's lying
- 21:08Speaker 3: or telling the truth about what I.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Wasn't in the back. I just because I was still in,
- 21:11Speaker 1: you know, and as a fan, and yeah, I guess
- 21:14Speaker 1: him and Paul bring there.
- 21:16Speaker 3: They were like best friends and falling out.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Yeah, they went Todd, like Eddie and Todd had a
- 21:20Speaker 5: falling out from my understanding, and they were bringing Paul in,
- 21:23Speaker 5: and Paul was bringing public Enemy Taz and Dreamer and
- 21:26Speaker 5: that's how that all transitioned. But it's funny to be
- 21:28Speaker 5: that I was there that night, not knowing what was
- 21:30Speaker 5: going In the back. I was justs like to meet
- 21:31Speaker 5: Eddie Gilbert and have signed some ship.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. I always loved him. I always thought.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Eddie Gilber was a great power town. Get do they
- 21:39Speaker 3: haven't signed?
- 21:40Speaker 1: I don't know. They have seven hundred talent signed. Yeah
- 21:42Speaker 1: you guys using me for like a figure. There's so
- 21:45Speaker 1: much cool hot stuff.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Right, I think there's a there's meat there on the bone.
- 21:49Speaker 1: So then I went to a show in December and
- 21:52Speaker 1: I was just literally leaving the building and on the
- 21:54Speaker 1: floor was E. C. W. Action Wire, which was the program, and.
- 21:58Speaker 5: I just grabbed it and it's on the back like
- 22:02Speaker 5: interested in contributing or something called Gabe kind of like
- 22:05Speaker 5: that thing you signed his number. I still I still
- 22:08Speaker 5: have that stuff though, like that thing you showed me yesterday,
- 22:10Speaker 5: I blew me away. So I called Gabe. I'm like, hey,
- 22:13Speaker 5: my name's Lou. Like I write for my school paper.
- 22:16Speaker 5: I'd love to like be a correspondent. He's like, oh,
- 22:19Speaker 5: I can't pay you. I'm like, I don't care, Just
- 22:21Speaker 5: can you get me into the shows?
- 22:22Speaker 1: You know? And I started.
- 22:24Speaker 5: So I wrote for like probably like a year, just
- 22:28Speaker 5: doing like I go to the shows, I write a match,
- 22:30Speaker 5: you know, but like in k Fabe, like it was like.
- 22:34Speaker 1: No, it was all legit, like not hey did this spot.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It was like you funk beat him to the side,
- 22:39Speaker 1: and you know the uh Shane Tully Blanchard one hour draw,
- 22:43Speaker 1: like I wrote about that and things like that.
- 22:45Speaker 5: And then uh, then he needed a photographer. He's like,
- 22:49Speaker 5: I need somebody to do pictures. I'm like, I'm a photographer.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Are you really? Are you just trying to get okay,
- 22:54Speaker 1: you're just trying to get a gig.
- 22:55Speaker 2: No.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I was like, I'll do whatever as long as you
- 22:57Speaker 5: like somebody will pay for the film. And then so
- 23:00Speaker 5: I did ringside pictures for a long time. In fact,
- 23:02Speaker 5: if you watch some of the eighty was it so
- 23:05Speaker 5: ninety early ninety five stuff. You will see me at ringside.
- 23:08Speaker 5: It's taking pictung hair flannels, it's grunge air taking pictures.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And I still have all the pictures.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Wow, that's awesome.
- 23:14Speaker 5: They're pretty sick, and in my mind, in my I've
- 23:17Speaker 5: always wanted to do like projects where I could put
- 23:19Speaker 5: those out and like, cause there's some really sick shots,
- 23:22Speaker 5: but I know everyone else has probably better ones. I
- 23:25Speaker 5: just see it from my own eyes, right, because there
- 23:28Speaker 5: was some It was something with them taking those pictures
- 23:30Speaker 5: that I learned more about the business and how guys
- 23:33Speaker 5: sell with their facial expressions. Looked like I was getting
- 23:35Speaker 5: smartened up big time.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm like, you're in the best seat in the house
- 23:38Speaker 1: you can hear. I'm sure you heard a lot of stuff.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Though I heard a shot and.
- 23:41Speaker 5: It was like, I'm still am fascinated about calling spots
- 23:44Speaker 5: for some reasons, but I yeah, that's really how I
- 23:47Speaker 5: start like learning learning. And then I became friends with
- 23:51Speaker 5: Scottie with Raven and Stevie and they were going to
- 23:55Speaker 5: like an indie show and reading Pennsylvania, and Stevie called
- 23:57Speaker 5: me because I just want to ride up with us just.
- 23:59Speaker 1: To like hang out.
- 24:00Speaker 5: It was really he wanted me to drive Walke's and
- 24:02Speaker 5: cell phones off, so uh yeah. So I get to
- 24:06Speaker 5: his house, He's like, oh, yeah, can you drive him?
- 24:08Speaker 5: Like no, I can't, it's my mom's.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Car, Like I can't you think I do? Yeah?
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. But though then Raven's like, well see if
- 24:16Speaker 1: you just drive then, and he was like hot.
- 24:18Speaker 5: But we drove up to reading Body Slams or Body Slammers,
- 24:20Speaker 5: Body Slams Arena, Damien Kaine's place and Scotty the whole way.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Just talk to me and he's like, are you trained
- 24:26Speaker 5: or anything?
- 24:26Speaker 1: I'm like no. And then, uh, probably like two months later,
- 24:30Speaker 1: I was going to get my ringside photography going and
- 24:33Speaker 1: someone came up to me and like, Raven needs to
- 24:35Speaker 1: see you right now.
- 24:36Speaker 5: And usually that's like, oh, what did I do? Yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 5: and he just looked at me and he goes, congratulations,
- 24:41Speaker 5: you have graduated.
- 24:42Speaker 1: You are now signed. Guy Dudley go to the CVS,
- 24:45Speaker 1: get poster board and markers and come see me. And
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'm like what And that's literally how it started. That's
- 24:50Speaker 1: it crazy. So you weren't even like no, no, you know,
- 24:54Speaker 1: sweaty wheel trying to get the grease there. I was
- 24:56Speaker 1: just happy to like, Oh, I never ever had thought
- 24:58Speaker 1: of being in the ring, like ever crossed my mold.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Is there a potential for a Basle to be Brosky's
- 25:02Speaker 3: new manager?
- 25:03Speaker 1: It might be, it might be you never know.
- 25:07Speaker 3: That's pretty great. And that was it and then you
- 25:08Speaker 3: never took photos of again your just talent.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Correct and what was And I also one thing I
- 25:12Speaker 5: missed that I was also doing the original Fancam stuff too.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Oh that was used.
- 25:16Speaker 5: I'm the only cam quarter because I would like to
- 25:19Speaker 5: videotape wrestling, you know what I mean, just the house
- 25:21Speaker 5: shows and things like that.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I'd sneak it in. But what's funny about that night?
- 25:26Speaker 1: So I'm at they you know, I make my sign.
- 25:28Speaker 5: It's like Dudley's rule, Dudley spelled wrong, all this kind
- 25:30Speaker 5: of stuff. They put me in the front row and
- 25:33Speaker 5: they're just like sit there all night, hold up signs
- 25:35Speaker 5: and they're all pro Dudley signs. They gave me I
- 25:38Speaker 5: found a tied eye or somebody gave me a tied
- 25:40Speaker 5: eye and no overalls yet. So I sat there and
- 25:42Speaker 5: then there's a match Dudley Dudley versus Tommy Dreamer, and
- 25:46Speaker 5: they go do their thing.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Tommy's up.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Tommy rolls outside the ring kind of just to tell me, like,
- 25:51Speaker 5: screw off, I'm not smart to the business.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And I'm like, fuck you, motherfucker, and he's like, you
- 25:57Speaker 1: can curse on here. Yeah. No, I don't think he
- 26:00Speaker 1: said that. The reason I mumbled is because I don't.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I said something and I got in his face a
- 26:05Speaker 1: little and he's just grabbed me and pulled me baby face.
- 26:08Speaker 3: He's a baby face. He challenged his integrity.
- 26:10Speaker 1: He's got to do something. So I was this was
- 26:12Speaker 1: a shoot.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Now pulls me over the guardrail and he's picking me
- 26:16Speaker 5: up to put me in the ring, and I'm like,
- 26:19Speaker 5: what is going on? And he and he goes watch
- 26:22Speaker 5: the chair and he throws me in the ring and
- 26:25Speaker 5: I'm like okay. So I get in the ring and
- 26:28Speaker 5: like I look up and he has the chair so
- 26:32Speaker 5: crushes me with the chair and I was like at
- 26:37Speaker 5: that moment, I was like, wow, this is cool.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that hurt.
- 26:40Speaker 1: And then he picks me up. Watch the d DT
- 26:43Speaker 1: yeah take it. And I'm like, and here's where we
- 26:47Speaker 1: used to in college like d d T each other
- 26:50Speaker 1: like because there were just college kids feeling done. So
- 26:52Speaker 1: I knew how to take a d DT. So if
- 26:55Speaker 1: you ever see it, it's like when I got to
- 26:57Speaker 1: the back first of all, like I'm smiling, they're they're
- 27:00Speaker 1: I did adrenaline adrenaline rushy stretcher jobs the back. I'm like,
- 27:04Speaker 1: oh my god, they put me up, and everyone's like,
- 27:07Speaker 1: did you know that was happening. I was like, I
- 27:09Speaker 1: had no idea. And then Tommy came up to me.
- 27:10Speaker 1: He said I had to do it.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Man, you got in my face and I'm like, He's like,
- 27:13Speaker 5: I'm a baby face And that's right when I learned
- 27:16Speaker 5: like that kind of stuff.
- 27:17Speaker 1: But it was crazy, dude, And that's literally. And then
- 27:19Speaker 1: I went to the wrestling school and house.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Hard eventually some proper trainer.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Yeah, because they they when I was up there with
- 27:27Speaker 5: Perry and Tasan or that do you want to be
- 27:28Speaker 5: a wrestler or you want to be a manager? I
- 27:30Speaker 5: was like, let's I initially said wrestler, and then someone
- 27:33Speaker 5: said you're already in the spot. Learn how to be
- 27:36Speaker 5: a manager, right, yeah, yeah, because you can go quicker,
- 27:39Speaker 5: and that's what I did.
- 27:40Speaker 1: And then Dudley lineage, where are you give me the
- 27:42Speaker 1: So it was it was Dudley. It's hard to do
- 27:44Speaker 1: for people. It was Dudley Dudley. You're in a new career.
- 27:48Speaker 1: You're gonna be Brosky's manager at Impact. Yeah, starting tonight.
- 27:53Speaker 1: So that's an out though. You can get off the show.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Thanks. I helped the bike pick that up. Did you're great?
- 28:03Speaker 1: Thanks? Bye? Okay? Is yes, okay, I'm not easy to
- 28:06Speaker 1: die hard.
- 28:06Speaker 5: I can't do this, So it's it originally started with
- 28:09Speaker 5: Dudley Dudley. Who was who Jeff Bradley. Jeff Bradley was
- 28:14Speaker 5: a wrestler from Jampa. He was awesome, big Dick, and
- 28:18Speaker 5: then uh, little Snot. It was Anthony Michaels from Smoking
- 28:23Speaker 5: Mountain and.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Then podcast but we're trying to shoot.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Oh that was just a basket. We'll stop though. Hi,
- 28:32Speaker 3: Hi Tommy Dream Hey Tom.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I just told him about how you got me in
- 28:34Speaker 1: the business.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Hi, Rhino. We've got a lot of run ins here.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Rhino's the double dish.
- 28:38Speaker 1: And I can also fire you, which is not true.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It's not even remotely not close. Anything can get me fired,
- 28:48Speaker 1: I said, don't laugh, Jesus Christ. Yeah, So anyway, it
- 28:52Speaker 1: was Dudley Dudley, Little snot Big Dick. Those are the three.
- 28:57Speaker 1: What about Dances with Dudley, He's coming coming. You were
- 29:00Speaker 1: before him, so you're you're next to I'm actually I'm next.
- 29:04Speaker 5: So then sign guy comes in and the next night
- 29:07Speaker 5: Dances with Dudley starts, and then that was that was
- 29:11Speaker 5: the first crew and Dan.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Eventually Bubba who's Mongo Vile.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Yeah, he takes a choke slam. From now on one right, dude.
- 29:20Speaker 3: So it's so funny.
- 29:20Speaker 5: It is like when I went to, like, as I
- 29:23Speaker 5: was trying to learn, I'd go to shows that are
- 29:25Speaker 5: around still living in Hartford, Connecticut, so anything around there.
- 29:28Speaker 5: I'd go to the like lou Rearing show in Deer
- 29:31Speaker 5: Park just to like watch and learn. And I was
- 29:34Speaker 5: there with Dreamer popped in and when he's like, why
- 29:36Speaker 5: are you here, I was like, I'm just literally just
- 29:38Speaker 5: checking this out. And he goes watch this guy he
- 29:40Speaker 5: takes a crazy choke slam and it was it was
- 29:42Speaker 5: Bubba Primo was choke slamming him and I was like, wow,
- 29:46Speaker 5: that's awesome.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Wow, And that was Bubba A Dudley. It's eventually out came.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Mango Vile with a bullet.
- 29:50Speaker 5: Oh yeah, got the A C D c the whole thing.
- 29:53Speaker 5: So yeah, so that was so then it was me
- 29:55Speaker 5: and it was me, Bubba, Chubby de von Gus oh many.
- 30:00Speaker 3: That's why it's so hard to do.
- 30:01Speaker 1: But then it started like you know, what happened now
- 30:03Speaker 1: you know, knowing a lot more is like they start
- 30:06Speaker 1: not wanting to fly some guys in and all of
- 30:08Speaker 1: a sudden it just became it was me and dances
- 30:12Speaker 1: with Bubba, Devon and Spike, Big Dick occasionally dances with Dudley.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't know what happened. He just never came back
- 30:19Speaker 1: and then not trained with him, but he would come
- 30:22Speaker 1: by our trains going we were like our first months
- 30:24Speaker 1: and he would come by. Adolphin was alpha. That's it.
- 30:28Speaker 5: It was very nice. Another story for a different day.
- 30:31Speaker 5: But he got so mad. IM tell them now. But
- 30:33Speaker 5: it has nothing to do with figures.
- 30:35Speaker 1: But just to transition back to the collectibles and stuff.
- 30:37Speaker 1: So what are I know, like that's some things that
- 30:39Speaker 1: we've talked about, like you know in real life all
- 30:40Speaker 1: the time. What are some things from like your wrestling
- 30:42Speaker 1: career that you've held on to and collected and you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: you have a collection of my first shirt that I wore,
- 30:47Speaker 1: a signed guy. I have a ton of my signs.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I have.
- 30:53Speaker 5: There was an angle we did a ninety eight with
- 30:55Speaker 5: Dreamer where he busted my knee and I would wear
- 30:58Speaker 5: Dudley like we hate dreams with Buela and stuff that
- 31:01Speaker 5: it was just because it was like a really good run.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So I have all those. I have every like print
- 31:08Speaker 1: material like tickets.
- 31:09Speaker 3: You have tickets, stuff passes and stuff.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Right, I have the passes, but I also have like
- 31:14Speaker 5: the memos that used to be sent about crossing the border.
- 31:17Speaker 3: And see that's the kind of stuff I like.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Like you just read and I have a contracts and
- 31:22Speaker 1: and things like that. If you're read now you're like,
- 31:24Speaker 1: what what was going on?
- 31:25Speaker 3: I couldn't imagine what a freaking E c W contract
- 31:28Speaker 3: looks like.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I have a Yeah, I can show it to you.
- 31:32Speaker 3: It's probably a major Beddies contact I have.
- 31:37Speaker 5: When I did the angle with Billy Corgan the first
- 31:39Speaker 5: time he blasted guitar over my head, I have the
- 31:41Speaker 5: guitar like it's in pieces, but it's awesome.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah you did.
- 31:46Speaker 5: And uh, that's one thing it's like I'm never there's
- 31:49Speaker 5: those things. Is money can't buy kind of thing?
- 31:52Speaker 1: That's yes. I mean when we started, I'm sure, and
- 31:55Speaker 1: you're they're like, don't be a mark for yourself, done
- 31:58Speaker 1: this and that. But I feel like what we do
- 31:59Speaker 1: is so unique and special and you should embrace it
- 32:02Speaker 1: and be proud of the things.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And you know nothing wrong with that.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I am.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Yeah a lot of times, and those like you can't
- 32:08Speaker 5: take pictures back then, That's why I take so many
- 32:10Speaker 5: pictures now, a little different era, for sure, get smacked if.
- 32:12Speaker 3: You brought a lot camera. Yeah, yeah, it's crazy right now.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Okay, so thirty years later, almost you're gonna get your
- 32:18Speaker 4: first figure.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Hopefully we're all.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Rooting for Rush collectibles here to get right, because that
- 32:25Speaker 4: ECW toy line was awesome and there's so many guys
- 32:28Speaker 4: that it'd make yourself included. So it'll be cool for
- 32:30Speaker 4: me as a fan to get it. But I'm sure
- 32:31Speaker 4: even cooler for you to have your first figure.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Yeah it was.
- 32:34Speaker 1: That was cool for you guys. I believe you set
- 32:36Speaker 1: it up correct.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I nudged him.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I think somebody nudged them positive, which I appreciate. I
- 32:41Speaker 1: recently had, like a year and a half ago, a
- 32:43Speaker 1: fan just sent me one of me and I was like,
- 32:45Speaker 1: what he just made it's pretty.
- 32:48Speaker 5: It was just awesome, and so I was like, this
- 32:50Speaker 5: is cool. Yeah, you know, and somebody just sent me
- 32:54Speaker 5: because I wasn't like that character. You Honestly, it's not
- 32:56Speaker 5: making money.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I mean, no one's going to be like, oh I'm
- 32:58Speaker 1: about the sign guy Dudley Doll then, but it's a different.
- 33:01Speaker 3: What's your term?
- 33:03Speaker 4: Hammerhead Star Wars figures like you need everybody, well you
- 33:06Speaker 4: just like you have lou Darthy, you need like the
- 33:08Speaker 4: fucking that fucking guy and this fucking guy. You need
- 33:10Speaker 4: all those guys you need you're building your fig fed,
- 33:14Speaker 4: you need all the characters. If you're playing, you need
- 33:16Speaker 4: the managers, you need.
- 33:17Speaker 1: The guy I wish I have to take. Yes, I played,
- 33:19Speaker 1: I played with you guys. I'm a freshman high school
- 33:22Speaker 1: and that'll come out and I'm like, hi, So like
- 33:24Speaker 1: if I would have had you a ringside to help
- 33:26Speaker 1: my Bubba and Devon matches crap kidder what talent meeting?
- 33:31Speaker 1: Talent talent meeting impact of three thirty spread the word
- 33:34Speaker 1: everyone's hearing the major major podcasts here, major players podcast.
- 33:38Speaker 1: What's actually should look at see real quickly? Put like
- 33:42Speaker 1: two or three minutes. We asked some Uh, let's see
- 33:45Speaker 1: if they so you collect like cards now, trading cards?
- 33:50Speaker 3: That's your thing.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Hockey is probably hockey, say a big slap, Yes, say
- 33:56Speaker 1: I love it.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Let's ask a couple of questions and we'll let lou
- 33:58Speaker 4: Go do his real job.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Jamie Silverberg is asking was that a shoot when Bubba
- 34:03Speaker 1: slammed you down and said you don't know what you're
- 34:05Speaker 1: doing once before a match? Uh? Yeah, no, No, it
- 34:09Speaker 1: wasn't a shoot.
- 34:09Speaker 5: I don't even remember that, but well I do remember
- 34:12Speaker 5: one time he stiffed the hell out of me on
- 34:15Speaker 5: like he was supposed to slap me. We're like a
- 34:17Speaker 5: breakup with Dreamer or break like he had done an
- 34:20Speaker 5: angle Dreamer I felt as a work that was insulting.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So Dudley boys beat me up and it was extremely painful.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Extremely It was in Queen's Tyler Lavelle, that's top shelf.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Troy is asking, what's your favorite Joel Gertner line ever?
- 34:35Speaker 5: The Silence behind the Violence, which is actually a great name,
- 34:40Speaker 5: and what I recently.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Heard it in a nine inch nail song. I'm like,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I think it's stolen.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Oh, it's something like you sing silent and violent? Were
- 34:49Speaker 5: there and pre Signed Guy Dudley was before I.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Was in the business.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Woe. But yeah, we got the origins of sign Guy.
- 34:58Speaker 3: That's here.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Oh, this is something we didn't real touch on that
- 35:00Speaker 1: I do love and I think it's underrated work Louis
- 35:03Speaker 1: Dangerously when you transferred into Louis who came up with
- 35:06Speaker 1: that idea.
- 35:08Speaker 5: It was a very funny story when I was Signed
- 35:11Speaker 5: Guy because I had long hair and I wore hat.
- 35:14Speaker 5: When I would be in the locker room, people from
- 35:16Speaker 5: behind people would come up to me and go, hey, Paul, Hey,
- 35:19Speaker 5: Paul Johnny ground shit it all the time, and I
- 35:21Speaker 5: would turn around and they'd be like, fuck, you're not Pauline.
- 35:24Speaker 5: So then it was like well, and then Tommy and
- 35:26Speaker 5: I just kind of like, oh, you could be Louis
- 35:28Speaker 5: Dangerously and that.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 5: That's actually when I became a promoter after Sign Guy.
- 35:35Speaker 5: So I had three months where I didn't do anything
- 35:37Speaker 5: in the ring, right, Tommy's like, we're gonna try out.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I was like cool, because I'd never cut a promo.
- 35:43Speaker 5: I had cut one a Sign Guy. Yeah, you're not
- 35:45Speaker 5: speaking all this time?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 35:47Speaker 5: So it was the opening of the ECW Arena show
- 35:49Speaker 5: and yeah, in Philly was my tryout. The hardest spot
- 35:53Speaker 5: when you open when Joey over course and they bring
- 35:55Speaker 5: me out. But it was like I got the sign
- 35:58Speaker 5: guy and this socks change TNN era, right, isn't it?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh yeah yeah. We were the kings of hardcore TV.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I was never very rarely on TNA era that year. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 36:11Speaker 1: uh maybe one more? Were you ever? Chris Sullivan's asking
- 36:15Speaker 1: how we're ever super nervous after Bubba was cutting the
- 36:18Speaker 1: scandalous promos that he would do. I was nervous about
- 36:21Speaker 1: getting hurt.
- 36:22Speaker 5: But I always I've answered that question a lot, actually,
- 36:25Speaker 5: But what I've always said it was like I'm in
- 36:27Speaker 5: the ring with the toughest guys in the business or
- 36:30Speaker 5: in the locker room. So some people may disagree with that,
- 36:32Speaker 5: but I was good.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I did get it attacked by a fan a couple
- 36:36Speaker 1: of times, which was which was in that era, was
- 36:38Speaker 1: kind of like that's great heat.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Now someone of those man look at that. It's the
- 36:41Speaker 3: nerve wracking some of that stuff.
- 36:43Speaker 5: I mean, I just remember one night he went like
- 36:45Speaker 5: nutso and I'm like leaving and someone just grabs the
- 36:48Speaker 5: back of my hair and pulls.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Me down and that that was like, that's scary. Yeah,
- 36:54Speaker 1: Big Dick got him though. Anyway, all right, let's end
- 36:57Speaker 1: it with this, Daniel Brower, here's a good question, in
- 37:00Speaker 1: your opinion, what made so special compared to other promotions.
- 37:04Speaker 5: We were the Nirvana of grunge and music. We just
- 37:08Speaker 5: went at it raw and there's no formats, and it
- 37:10Speaker 5: was pretty much like, you know, uncensored stuff that doesn't
- 37:15Speaker 5: follow anything that's currently happening in the business. But at
- 37:17Speaker 5: the same time that the locker room is really where
- 37:21Speaker 5: it sits. So I can say all those things about
- 37:23Speaker 5: grunge and Nirvana, but the guys there, it's they work
- 37:27Speaker 5: so hard, and they worked hard for like a reason,
- 37:29Speaker 5: and a lot of guys.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Left along the way.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Yeah, of course, I think you had a team of
- 37:32Speaker 5: people really wanted to build a brand and really catching
- 37:35Speaker 5: a break. I mean, look at me, I was, I
- 37:36Speaker 5: was a photographer that became this public anybody. It was
- 37:41Speaker 5: a place for those guys to go that wasn't They
- 37:44Speaker 5: would speak to their strengths versus trying to be polished
- 37:46Speaker 5: somewhere else.
- 37:47Speaker 3: And we're still talking about all these years later. So
- 37:49Speaker 3: certainly a special.
- 37:50Speaker 5: That's where the Nirvana reference comes in, and I know
- 37:52Speaker 5: Nirvana is one of my favorite bands obviously, but at
- 37:54Speaker 5: the same time, when you look back on the years
- 37:56Speaker 5: and what they did for rock and roll and what
- 37:58Speaker 5: we did for wrestling, I mean, still get a ECW chance, right,
- 38:01Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Ryan will get them every night still.
- 38:03Speaker 5: And if you told me that, Dan, I'd be like,
- 38:05Speaker 5: what yeah, right, So I could probably elaborate the Holy
- 38:08Speaker 5: ECW conversation with you, but yeah, we can do this
- 38:10Speaker 5: again for sure.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Lou Passion and thank you. You are the man.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I appreciate you doing this. We love having you here.
- 38:15Speaker 1: An impact of school to reconnect after if you have
- 38:18Speaker 1: known you've known each other a really long time. Yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 1: those are stories, right, no time, all right, thank you,
- 38:23Speaker 1: Thanks guys.
- 38:32Speaker 4: All right, we got some new tag team champions the
- 38:35Speaker 4: major wrestling figure.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Podcasts and whatnot, The Ultimate Tag Team. I'm loving it.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It's like Instagram live meets eBay. It's uh, it's the
- 38:45Speaker 1: next big thing. And I'm not talking about Brock Listener. Definitely.
- 38:50Speaker 2: We will actually be on there every week six thirty
- 38:53Speaker 2: pm on Monday's Eastern and we're gonna be doing live
