- 0:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:19Speaker 1: So one of the many things I love about this
- 0:21Speaker 1: job and I love about Israel goody Eras, is that
- 0:24Speaker 1: you never know what's gonna set Is he off.
- 0:28Speaker 3: A good point?
- 0:28Speaker 1: And you've been set off today? My friend Kevin Durant
- 0:32Speaker 1: is the reason that is. He is in a foul mood.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I guess no, no.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Just whenever somebody says something where I just sort of
- 0:41Speaker 3: kind of see right through it, right, it's just, you know,
- 0:44Speaker 3: it's just a topic that interests me.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Okay, we have some sound from Kevin Durant over the weekend.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I think you're talking about his response to the Philadelphia
- 0:52Speaker 1: seventy six ers and the dream team they've created.
- 0:55Speaker 3: So that's a couple of things, right, And we'll play
- 0:56Speaker 3: this sound right here where he's responding to this question.
- 0:58Speaker 3: But I believe somebody asked him here. Let's just play
- 1:00Speaker 3: this sound. Somebody asked him whether the Philadelphia seventy six
- 1:04Speaker 3: or seems like a mindless question, are going to be
- 1:07Speaker 3: contenders this coming year? And here's what Katie said, You
- 1:10Speaker 3: like their contenders?
- 1:12Speaker 4: Sure you don't think so? No, I'm just asking you.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Last time he put three twenty points scores on team,
- 1:19Speaker 5: they said it was unfair, which is the team I was?
- 1:21Speaker 5: They got four, so that it'll be a contender, man,
- 1:26Speaker 5: that will be a great team to watch.
- 1:29Speaker 3: And he went on from there just to go on Twitter,
- 1:32Speaker 3: which is, you know, his his preferred form of communication,
- 1:36Speaker 3: to then sort of continue to double down on the conversation.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Like, first of all, Stu back that.
- 1:42Speaker 3: He he sort of simplified what the Warriors did by
- 1:46Speaker 3: bringing him in by calling it the last time they
- 1:49Speaker 3: put three twenty point a game scorers together, That's not
- 1:52Speaker 3: what you guys were. That wasn't three guys who just
- 1:55Speaker 3: averaged twenty points. That was two of those three guys
- 1:58Speaker 3: that won combined three mb So let's not just sort
- 2:02Speaker 3: of dismiss what you actually.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Were and it was unfair, Well it was, yes.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Well, the big difference being that Philadelphia is not coming
- 2:09Speaker 1: off a season in which they broke the regular season
- 2:12Speaker 1: win total and won an NBA championship. Yeah, the Warriors
- 2:15Speaker 1: were exactly yes.
- 2:17Speaker 3: And he is then doubling down on Twitter by saying
- 2:21Speaker 3: by sort of breaking it down, saying, hey, on paper,
- 2:25Speaker 3: the Philadelphia seventy six ers this year's version are even
- 2:28Speaker 3: better than that Warriors version. And he makes these comparisons
- 2:32Speaker 3: to the Joel a recent MVP. So there's Steph the
- 2:35Speaker 3: recent MVP. Those aren't the same, man, those they're not
- 2:38Speaker 3: the same. We have not seen anything that Joel Hembida
- 2:41Speaker 3: has done past the second round because he's never been there.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So they're just not the same. And then he said
- 2:46Speaker 3: a recent finals MVP in Jalen Brown. Okay, let's pause
- 2:51Speaker 3: there for a second, because he went on to say
- 2:53Speaker 3: other things. Not once did he bring up Andrea Guadala,
- 2:56Speaker 3: who is a finals MVP recently. And then he talked
- 3:00Speaker 3: about he said Klay Thompson was never a finalist for
- 3:04Speaker 3: MVP or nothing right, and then just said twenty two
- 3:07Speaker 3: points a game, yes, and then threw Draymond Green stats
- 3:09Speaker 3: out there, which is something like fourteen points a game,
- 3:11Speaker 3: seven rebounds and six assists.
- 3:13Speaker 1: He's trying to give off that that team wasn't nearly
- 3:15Speaker 1: as good as we thought.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It was right, So basically over hyping Jalen Brown a
- 3:19Speaker 3: little bit, over hyping a forty one going into forty two,
- 3:23Speaker 3: Lebron James, probably over hyping Tyrese Maxie a bit too,
- 3:26Speaker 3: because if Joel Embiid had been healthy throughout the last
- 3:30Speaker 3: three years of Tyree's MAXI, I don't think tyres Maxie's
- 3:33Speaker 3: numbers are as good as they are currently. So it's
- 3:37Speaker 3: all just him, you know, moving the goalpost a little
- 3:40Speaker 3: bit here and there to try to make a point
- 3:42Speaker 3: which I don't agree with at all.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Yeah, this is this is Kadi's still trying to justify
- 3:47Speaker 7: the weakest move in NBA history.
- 3:49Speaker 4: That's it, yep.
- 3:50Speaker 7: Is he the point that you made And the saddest
- 3:53Speaker 7: comparison that he made was comparing Curry's MVP to Joel
- 3:57Speaker 7: Embiid's MVP, saying that Joel was an MVY recently because
- 4:01Speaker 7: how many injuries ago was Joel Embiid's MVP. Joel Embiid
- 4:04Speaker 7: might as well be a completely different player now.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Yes, and you can't. Honestly, there are very few MVPs
- 4:09Speaker 3: you could even compare to Steph Curry, who was unanimous
- 4:13Speaker 3: and the first time unanimous MVP, So that in itself
- 4:17Speaker 3: is not a fair comparison. And normally I agree with
- 4:20Speaker 3: like ninety five percent of the stuff Katie says. He's
- 4:24Speaker 3: lately come across as somebody, you know, the more veteran player,
- 4:27Speaker 3: the older, wiser guy, the one who's like not in
- 4:30Speaker 3: it for the nonsense, and he just kind of goes
- 4:32Speaker 3: in and breaks down things in a sensible way. But
- 4:36Speaker 3: this one, he's just trying too hard. And I don't
- 4:39Speaker 3: even get it s due because what Taylor said is correct, right,
- 4:42Speaker 3: He's trying to justify what many people believe is the
- 4:45Speaker 3: weakest move ever in sports.
- 4:47Speaker 1: He's gonna be justifying that and defending that move for
- 4:50Speaker 1: the remainder of his life.
- 4:52Speaker 3: That's what he signed up for, right, But to do
- 4:54Speaker 3: that whilst also insulting them, right, Like Draymond, that's how
- 4:58Speaker 3: you have to do it. You have to.
- 5:00Speaker 1: There's no way of doing it without him insulting the
- 5:02Speaker 1: Golden State Warrior team that he played on.
- 5:04Speaker 3: So he's more concerned with public perception about his move
- 5:09Speaker 3: than his actual personal relationships with these folks. It's just
- 5:13Speaker 3: a little sideways for me.
- 5:14Speaker 7: The biggest difference in terms of the public perception besides
- 5:17Speaker 7: the fact that the seventy six ers weren't this title
- 5:20Speaker 7: contending team before Lebron James got there. To quote unquote
- 5:23Speaker 7: ring Chase Stude, the difference is, Kevin Durant wins a
- 5:27Speaker 7: title in Golden State, there is nothing he could ever
- 5:31Speaker 7: do to make Warriors fans love him more than Steph Curry.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Yep.
- 5:35Speaker 7: If Lebron wins a title this year or next year
- 5:38Speaker 7: in Philadelphia, yep, he is Philadelphia's guy for eternity his city.
- 5:43Speaker 7: Right next to that Rocky statue, they're putting up a
- 5:45Speaker 7: Lebron James statue.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Yes.
- 5:47Speaker 1: The other big difference is, you know, Kevin Durant was
- 5:49Speaker 1: on a team that was up three to one on
- 5:51Speaker 1: the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals the
- 5:54Speaker 1: year before he left Oklahoma City and went to Golden
- 5:57Speaker 1: State and joined the team that came back from that
- 6:00Speaker 1: three one deficit and went on to win.
- 6:02Speaker 6: An NBA championship.
- 6:03Speaker 1: That team is one of the greatest teams to have
- 6:05Speaker 1: ever played in the NBA, and Kevin Durant felt like
- 6:08Speaker 1: they needed more.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yes, and then so going back to that point about
- 6:12Speaker 3: just him not really caring about his personal relationships, like,
- 6:15Speaker 3: I don't know how many people thought they had poor
- 6:18Speaker 3: relationships over there.
- 6:19Speaker 4: It just break.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It just comes down to what Taylor just said. He
- 6:23Speaker 3: seemed like he was upset. Now he's gonna say this
- 6:25Speaker 3: is fan fiction. He's gonna say this is not the case.
- 6:28Speaker 3: But people around there have people around him at the
- 6:32Speaker 3: time had noticed it, had you know, probably even heard
- 6:35Speaker 3: comments from him where it's just like, they don't love
- 6:37Speaker 3: you the same way they do Steph, and they don't
- 6:39Speaker 3: value you the same way they do the homegrown guys.
- 6:42Speaker 3: And that's why he ended up getting out of there.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And he just used Draymond Green and his you know,
- 6:47Speaker 3: his argument with Draymond Green as the reason he was leaving.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But it's just like what he did to Klay Thompson
- 6:54Speaker 3: was so unfair right there. Yeah, but he had to
- 6:56Speaker 3: to justify what it is he did.
- 6:58Speaker 6: That's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 6:59Speaker 3: But here's a question for if you needed a two
- 7:01Speaker 3: way player today, would you take prime Jalen Brown or
- 7:06Speaker 3: prime Klay Thompson Because people forget how good of a
- 7:09Speaker 3: defender he was, right, and so if you were to
- 7:12Speaker 3: I don't think Klay Thompson would have been a lead
- 7:14Speaker 3: guy on a highly successful team. But he damn sure
- 7:18Speaker 3: proved he could be a number two guy on a
- 7:21Speaker 3: very successful, wildly successful team. And that's what Jalen Brown was.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Despite his Finals MVP, for the entirety of his time
- 7:29Speaker 3: there with Jason Tatum, he was considered the number two.
- 7:31Speaker 3: So already it's just flaws and those you know in
- 7:35Speaker 3: his argument, and those are the ones that normally KD
- 7:38Speaker 3: is above. So the reason I say I'm shocked by
- 7:41Speaker 3: this is because it's it's crazy how hard he continues
- 7:45Speaker 3: to double triple, quadruple down on this concept and just say, hey,
- 7:49Speaker 3: why don't you just enjoy possibly the greatest team that's
- 7:53Speaker 3: ever been put together in the NBA. Instead he's trying
- 7:56Speaker 3: to knock them to lift himself up, and I just
- 7:58Speaker 3: think he's above that.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Katy could have won me over if he took a
- 8:02Speaker 7: torch to Draymond Green, because I'm at the point where
- 8:04Speaker 7: I have Draymond Green fatigue right now. If he just
- 8:07Speaker 7: came out and said, if we replaced Draymond Green with
- 8:10Speaker 7: Robert Covington, Robert Covington's this Hall of Famer, I would
- 8:13Speaker 7: have been like I would have been.
- 8:14Speaker 4: In Katy's corner with the Katie jersey being like Katy,
- 8:17Speaker 4: great point, great point, Bob Coo.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I mean I would have I would have laughed when
- 8:22Speaker 3: you said that, Taylor, and I would have supported you.
- 8:24Speaker 3: But I would have said no, even for somebody who
- 8:27Speaker 3: dislikes Draymond Green's public you know, persona and how he
- 8:31Speaker 3: presents himself and throw these opinions that dude was phenomenal
- 8:35Speaker 3: back then. If you go back to the Game seven
- 8:37Speaker 3: that they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, you put up
- 8:40Speaker 3: a thirty point?
- 8:41Speaker 4: Was it a triple double?
- 8:42Speaker 3: He was just phenomenal And so yeah, what player did
- 8:45Speaker 3: you say, Robert Covington?
- 8:47Speaker 1: Robert Covington, Yes, well, Paul Millsap there and he does
- 8:50Speaker 1: the same thing.
- 8:51Speaker 7: He's phenomenal too, Dese, he and Paul Millsap would have
- 8:54Speaker 7: stood for phenomenal.
- 8:55Speaker 1: And the m would have for MVB. What do you have, Dan,
- 8:59Speaker 1: there's a n point, Alf, That's what you have.
- 9:02Speaker 8: There's also this point that Kevin Durant will never understand,
- 9:05Speaker 8: and it's what he did to Oklahoma City. I don't
- 9:08Speaker 8: think there are a lot of people here that care
- 9:09Speaker 8: that Lebron left the Lakers because it was the Lakers.
- 9:12Speaker 8: But when Durant talks, whenever he talks or he talks
- 9:15Speaker 8: about the Warriors team, there is always the part of
- 9:17Speaker 8: what he did to Oklahoma City. And even though the
- 9:19Speaker 8: thunder of comeback and rebuilt and of won an NBA title,
- 9:23Speaker 8: that stain on Durant will never change. So while it's
- 9:25Speaker 8: not a part of this direct conversation, I think the
- 9:28Speaker 8: way that people feel about Durant still goes back to
- 9:31Speaker 8: what he did to Oklahoma City in that moment.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred percent. And here's another stay. And even
- 9:36Speaker 3: though look you know this, I'm a huge Rockets fan.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I love it, and I've always loved KD as a player,
- 9:42Speaker 3: and ninety five percent of the time, like I said,
- 9:46Speaker 3: I agree with what he says. But what teammates, big
- 9:50Speaker 3: name teammates that he's had, that are like cool with him,
- 9:53Speaker 3: that are are friendly with him, that support him. I mean,
- 9:56Speaker 3: maybe Kyrie Irving. Maybe is that the ally you want necessarily?
- 9:59Speaker 3: So yeah, it's just it would upset me if I was,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you know, a lifelong Kevin Durant fan that he doesn't
- 10:07Speaker 3: have those allies, those supporters and those and maybe he does.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Maybe they're just not the big name stars.
- 10:12Speaker 7: It always surprises me that Kevin Durant seems shocked by
- 10:16Speaker 7: the blowback from what came after he chose the Warriors
- 10:20Speaker 7: and winning in Golden State and how that has kind
- 10:23Speaker 7: of affected his legacy.
- 10:24Speaker 4: If he could go back, do you.
- 10:26Speaker 7: Think he would have still went to Golden State, Like,
- 10:29Speaker 7: knowing what he knows now, he makes a different team,
- 10:31Speaker 7: you think.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I do?
- 10:32Speaker 6: I think he stays at Oklahoma City?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I mean it's the opposite of everything we're
- 10:36Speaker 1: taught about sports and competition.
- 10:39Speaker 3: If you can't beat him, join them. That's not what
- 10:41Speaker 3: we're taught. We're taught.
- 10:42Speaker 6: If you can't beat him, go back, get to work
- 10:44Speaker 6: and try harder.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think going back, armed with hindsight, I think
- 10:47Speaker 3: he would still leave Oklahoma City because the whole Russell
- 10:50Speaker 3: Westbrook and Billy Donovan thing probably true, right, especially on
- 10:53Speaker 3: the Billy Donovan part. Not you know, a multiple time
- 10:56Speaker 3: championship head coach. But he would go to another team,
- 10:59Speaker 3: he would say. The reason being is he was at
- 11:02Speaker 3: Golden State and he saw, Yes, Steph's great, but I
- 11:05Speaker 3: don't need a system. I am the system right and
- 11:08Speaker 3: I could win pretty much anywhere and he probably could
- 11:12Speaker 3: have gotten you know, one a team, let's say it's Philadelphia,
- 11:15Speaker 3: could have gotten Philadelphia a championship. You know that they
- 11:18Speaker 3: hadn't won in over thirty plus years at the time,
- 11:20Speaker 3: forty years maybe at the time, and looked completely different,
- 11:23Speaker 3: and I think armed with hindsight, he definitely would do that.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You know, I was reading a book it's called us
- 11:27Speaker 1: Who Got his Personal record book and it's you know,
- 11:30Speaker 1: it's my favorite author. And what he wrote in that
- 11:32Speaker 1: book and it rings true to this conversation, is he
- 11:36Speaker 1: imagine Michael Jordan not being able to get past the
- 11:39Speaker 1: Detroit Pistons and rather than getting back to work, what
- 11:42Speaker 1: he decided to do is, Hey, you know what, I
- 11:44Speaker 1: can't beat this team. I'm not going to work harder.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm just going to join this team. Imagine if Michael
- 11:49Speaker 1: Jordan did that, seriously, in what world would he do that?
- 11:53Speaker 6: There is no world?
- 11:54Speaker 1: And son Kevin Durant is haunted by his own decision
- 11:58Speaker 1: and will be haunted by that decision for the remainder
- 12:01Speaker 1: of time, because what he's trying to do as he
- 12:02Speaker 1: gets older is justify his place in NBA history.
- 12:06Speaker 7: Dan Stanzick to your favorite author, too.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yes, Yes, I mean the book doesn't get done without him. Wow.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Now I'm just picturing though. Imagine the lineup. You got
- 12:14Speaker 3: to move Michael Jordan to the three, but Man Isaiah Thomas,
- 12:17Speaker 3: Joe Dumart, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman and Bill lame Beer.
- 12:21Speaker 3: They'd definitely be fighting those warriors for the best team ever.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Yes, is he? Do you like appetizers?
- 12:26Speaker 1: The reason I asked that question it's an odd if Jordan.
- 12:31Speaker 8: If Jordan joined the Pistons, honest question, and you have
- 12:34Speaker 8: Vinnie Johnson as the microwave, would Jordan be the air
- 12:37Speaker 8: frar instead of air Jordan.
- 12:39Speaker 3: There's a little too early a time machine for Yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 3: I guess so I like pigs in a blanket personally.
- 12:45Speaker 1: The reason I asked that is because Taylor told me
- 12:47Speaker 1: he's got a football appetizer.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Wow.
- 12:50Speaker 7: Well, I feel like we need a little football appetizer
- 12:52Speaker 7: right now. Get some football in this conversation.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Yes.
- 12:56Speaker 7: ESPN's Ben Solak on the Golicks earlier today said the
- 13:01Speaker 7: Bears are on Regression Watch, but the Bears are also
- 13:04Speaker 7: on Elite Watch.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Covered all his bases. Anything can happen with the Chicago
- 13:10Speaker 3: Bears this season. What an appetizer.
- 13:13Speaker 9: So you're telling me as long as they finish above
- 13:16Speaker 9: or below where they were exactly last year.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yes, he's right.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Yes.
- 13:20Speaker 1: For the first ten minutes, mikey A did not make
- 13:22Speaker 1: a move, and then he perked up the.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Second he said, Ben sulwhakizer, pigs and the blankets.
- 13:29Speaker 10: Listen how Kevin Durant led, this show is beyond me?
- 13:33Speaker 3: Yeah, well is he in the news?
- 13:35Speaker 4: I had?
- 13:36Speaker 7: I had an opening monologue prepared about Brian Cashman.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Did you I want to hear it come next? Maybe?
- 13:42Speaker 6: As Draymond Green responded the KD, I'm certain.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, And this is this is what drives me crazy.
- 13:48Speaker 3: He's not signed it out, Draymond. Draymond gave a like,
- 13:52Speaker 3: offered a joke that a high schooler would have offered now,
- 13:56Speaker 3: and then laughed at himself with a million crying emojis.
- 13:59Speaker 3: He said, uh, sniper, thought he was on his burner.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It's a good joke for like five years ago. Many
- 14:07Speaker 3: what's your favorite appetizer?
- 14:09Speaker 7: Pigs in a blank stew Yeah, I think pigs in
- 14:11Speaker 7: a blanket. If you were doing a Mount Rushmore Monday, yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 7: maybe that's an upcoming Mount rush More Monday appetizers.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Yes, I mean it's up to me. I was the winner,
- 14:20Speaker 6: so we'll see.
- 14:20Speaker 7: I would spoil my draft board right now and tell
- 14:22Speaker 7: you guys my one one is pigs in a blanket.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I feel bad for the sculptors who have to do
- 14:27Speaker 3: food on a mountain. But Mikey, what do you think.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Let's go to our expert.
- 14:30Speaker 10: Oh, many sliders?
- 14:33Speaker 6: Wow?
- 14:33Speaker 4: Great?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Really it's too filling for me. It's too much in
- 14:36Speaker 3: an appetizer.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.
- 14:42Speaker 3: He's chiseled.
- 14:43Speaker 7: I mean, Mikey, I am with you that I think
- 14:45Speaker 7: many sliders are better than regular sized burgers.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Put it on a pole. Yeah, that's a different question.
- 14:51Speaker 4: I agree with you there, Yes.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Put it on the pole.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Are many sliders better than an actual, real size burger?
- 14:58Speaker 6: I'm not certain. I like a big burger.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I do. I got beef carpaccio as an appetite. She's
- 15:03Speaker 3: done right right? What's the go to Izzy's house for
- 15:06Speaker 3: a big game, and that's what's being so I'm never
- 15:08Speaker 3: gonna prepare it. I'm not a professional chef.
- 15:10Speaker 7: Well, but that's an order that arresta Welcome to my tailgate.
- 15:13Speaker 7: We've got beef Carpacah, Yeah, that's not at right temperature.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Nothing gets me to leave a tailgate faster than the
- 15:18Speaker 7: word beef carpaccio.
- 15:19Speaker 6: Nothing gets me to not show up a good tartar.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Isn't that terrible either?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company

- 15:44Speaker 1: How do you pronounce Danny's name? Ah, Mendola, Amendola?
- 15:48Speaker 6: I thought a tomato.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Tomato Amen corner. He's going to join us in hour
- 15:55Speaker 3: number two as well.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Plus we will get back to the one hundred greatest
- 15:59Speaker 1: baseball players of all time according to a guy named Jake.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Baseball had an in for that groan to be that audible.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Taylor.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Do you want to unleash on Brian Cashman before or
- 16:10Speaker 1: after Dan Bayer's sports update here?
- 16:13Speaker 4: Dan Byer can do his sports offen.
- 16:15Speaker 10: That's very kind of you.
- 16:16Speaker 6: Let's go to Sherman Oaks.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Guy and what a guy that Taylor is.
- 16:19Speaker 8: John Robinson is probably saying amen, his prayers were answered.
- 16:23Speaker 8: Now the highest paid running back in NFL history, three
- 16:25Speaker 8: year extension could be worth up to seventy five million
- 16:28Speaker 8: dollars for Robinson, as the deal, according to reports, has
- 16:31Speaker 8: fifty one million dollars in guarantees. He's run for over
- 16:34Speaker 8: thirty nine hundred yards in his first three years, two
- 16:37Speaker 8: fourteen hundred yard seasons the past two years. In this
- 16:40Speaker 8: past season also added an additional eight hundred and twenty
- 16:43Speaker 8: yards receiving. Speaking of receiving, the ravens and wide receivers,
- 16:46Speaker 8: eight Flowers agreed to terms on a four year extension
- 16:49Speaker 8: worth one hundred and forty million dollars. The average annual
- 16:52Speaker 8: salary there breaks down to thirty five million. That's the
- 16:55Speaker 8: fourth highest in the NFL, tied with Justin Jefferson of
- 16:58Speaker 8: the Minnesota Vikings. Chargers left Zackovershon Slater was taken to
- 17:01Speaker 8: the medical tent during eleven on elevens Today. Slater, who
- 17:04Speaker 8: missed all of last season, did exit the tent, but
- 17:06Speaker 8: didn't immediately return to action. Cardinals will start rookie Carson
- 17:09Speaker 8: Beck at quarterback in Thursday's Hall of Fame game in Canton.
- 17:12Speaker 8: Dolphins president and CEO Tom Garfingle, stepping down from his
- 17:16Speaker 8: position after thirteen seasons. He'll reportedly stay on his device
- 17:19Speaker 8: chair of the Dolphins. College football coaches poll is up.
- 17:22Speaker 8: Ohio State's the preseason number one in the top twenty five,
- 17:25Speaker 8: receiving thirty eight out of a possible seventy two first
- 17:28Speaker 8: place votes. Oregon was second, followed by Georgia, Texas and
- 17:30Speaker 8: Notre Dame. Defending national champion Indiana came in sixth, but
- 17:34Speaker 8: actually received the second most first place votes with fourteen.
- 17:37Speaker 8: And the WNBA's expansion team based in Cleveland has revealed
- 17:41Speaker 8: what their nickname will be when they begin playing twenty
- 17:43Speaker 8: twenty eight. They'll be known as the Cleveland Sirens. Stu
- 17:47Speaker 8: back to you, Thank you, Dan Mikey. Did the mention
- 17:50Speaker 8: of a coaches pole get you excited?
- 17:53Speaker 4: Oh yeah?
- 17:54Speaker 9: Tween elco yesterday and a coaches poll today.
- 17:57Speaker 10: It's almost here, baby.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Hey coaches bawl ranking teams who haven't played a single
- 18:03Speaker 1: snap of a single game yet.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Don't get me started on coaches poll. Football is back.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Call him SID Polls, Sports Information Director polls. The coaches
- 18:11Speaker 3: have nothing to do with him.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Football is back, but just for a moment Taylor go ahead, unleash.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm Brian Cashman.
- 18:18Speaker 7: Just to recap what the Yankees did at the deadline.
- 18:20Speaker 7: They added a platoon infielder at their most crowded position
- 18:24Speaker 7: in Luis Garcia Junior. And they added a platoon outfielder
- 18:28Speaker 7: in Elliott Ramos. They traded four relievers. They didn't trade
- 18:32Speaker 7: for a single reliever at the deadline, first time since
- 18:35Speaker 7: twenty nineteen. I watch one hundred and sixty two Yankee.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Games a year.
- 18:40Speaker 7: You cut me open, Yeah, I bleed Yankee pinstripes. What
- 18:44Speaker 7: Brian Cashman did yesterday interesting, Yeah, was a slap in
- 18:48Speaker 7: the face to everybody who actually cares about this Yankee team.
- 18:52Speaker 7: And my biggest frustration with Brian Cashman there is never
- 18:57Speaker 7: any sense of urgency because he knows he's on to
- 19:00Speaker 7: If Brian Cashman thought for even a second that his
- 19:04Speaker 7: job was on the line this season, Austin Wells isn't
- 19:07Speaker 7: the starting catcher today, he gets a catcher at the deadline.
- 19:11Speaker 7: And if the excuse from Cashman is there weren't any
- 19:14Speaker 7: catchers available. Okay, really there were catchers available. They got traded.
- 19:19Speaker 7: They got traded inside the division. They clutch onto their prospects.
- 19:24Speaker 7: The problem is this isn't a market that it was
- 19:27Speaker 7: ten years ago where you have to overpay now because
- 19:29Speaker 7: of the third wild card. What the Yankees analytic department
- 19:33Speaker 7: doesn't understand is more teams think they're contenders, which means
- 19:38Speaker 7: fewer quality players are available. You have to be aggressive
- 19:42Speaker 7: and you compare what Craig Breslo said for the Red Sox.
- 19:46Speaker 7: His exact quote was, this team has demonstrated in incredible
- 19:51Speaker 7: resilience and relentlessness. They deserved and our fans deserved our
- 19:55Speaker 7: efforts to try and find ways to make the Red
- 19:59Speaker 7: Sox better. That is a stark contrast between Brian Cashman's
- 20:04Speaker 7: approach every trade deadline and if I'm if I'm Cam
- 20:08Speaker 7: Schlittler today, if I'm Garrett Cole today, Max Freed, Aaron Judge,
- 20:12Speaker 7: I'm just as offended as me because Brian Cashman is
- 20:16Speaker 7: looking at these guys saying, you guys have to be
- 20:19Speaker 7: perfect in the postseason. Yeah, and that's always my problem
- 20:22Speaker 7: with Brian Cashman. It's no way to reward a championship
- 20:26Speaker 7: caliber corp. You reward them by doing what the Dodgers
- 20:29Speaker 7: did and saying, let's go out and get these guys.
- 20:32Speaker 7: And if I'm one of these players, I'm asking, why
- 20:34Speaker 7: does the front office expect me to overcome holes that
- 20:37Speaker 7: they not only created, but Brian Cashman has had every
- 20:41Speaker 7: opportunity to fix that holes.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Did he really just say no catchers available when their
- 20:45Speaker 3: rival got a catch her?
- 20:48Speaker 7: Their excuse is always we looked at the market, we
- 20:50Speaker 7: didn't like what the market said. What really drives me crazy?
- 20:54Speaker 7: I think I've said what really drives me crazy? Because
- 20:56Speaker 7: there's there's four things that drives me crazy about Brian Cashman.
- 21:03Speaker 7: Brian Cashman gets credit because the Yankees are always in contention. Yes,
- 21:08Speaker 7: because they don't have Mets seasons. Despite having one of
- 21:11Speaker 7: the largest payrolls in baseball.
- 21:13Speaker 6: They're consistently good.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yes, he has job security, and you hate the fact
- 21:17Speaker 1: that he has job security.
- 21:18Speaker 7: They haven't won World Series since two thousand and nine.
- 21:21Speaker 7: So if you want to tell me the new standard is, hey,
- 21:25Speaker 7: we're not the Mets. Okay, go hang up a banner
- 21:27Speaker 7: in Yankee Stadium in whatever it's called up top.
- 21:32Speaker 4: I can't even remember the word. I'm so angry the facade.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Ye, wow, that sounds right.
- 21:35Speaker 6: I mean you cut him open in pinstripes.
- 21:38Speaker 7: Yeah, hang up a banner in Monument Park that says
- 21:42Speaker 7: we're not the Mets, because you can't tell me that
- 21:45Speaker 7: The Yankees expectation now is World Series or bus because
- 21:49Speaker 7: every time we get to the postseason, Me and Mikey
- 21:52Speaker 7: already know how this Yankee season ends. The Yankees are
- 21:55Speaker 7: going to get to October, they don't have enough bats
- 21:57Speaker 7: ball hitters, the offense disappears. He's another postseason series. And
- 22:01Speaker 7: then Brian Cashman has the audacity to get up and
- 22:04Speaker 7: go postseason baseball's a crapshoot for the eighteenth consecutive year.
- 22:09Speaker 6: Yeah, he adds out to his skihouse and Wreckinridge.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I love that town, Taylor.
- 22:15Speaker 10: The Yankees have.
- 22:16Speaker 9: The Yankees have such great starting pitching and Taylor and
- 22:20Speaker 9: I already know that when they get to October, Cam
- 22:24Speaker 9: Schlittler is going to leave a game after pitching six
- 22:27Speaker 9: and a third innings of one run ball and they're
- 22:29Speaker 9: gonna lose five to two because they have no ballpen help,
- 22:33Speaker 9: they have no offense that's going to carry them.
- 22:35Speaker 10: They're going to.
- 22:36Speaker 9: Sit back and go, well, somebody's gonna have to hit
- 22:38Speaker 9: a home run, and nobody's gonna be able to hit
- 22:40Speaker 9: a home run because you're gonna face really good pitching
- 22:43Speaker 9: in cold weather and it just doesn't fly that way.
- 22:46Speaker 10: Taylor, I couldn't be.
- 22:48Speaker 9: I am just as frustrated as you about this team.
- 22:51Speaker 7: Is he the guy that they got yesterday, Elliott Ramos
- 22:55Speaker 7: from the San Francisco Giants. He profiles as a guy
- 22:58Speaker 7: who chases pitches. He doesn't, He whiffs, and he strikes out.
- 23:02Speaker 6: No perfect.
- 23:03Speaker 7: That is the formula for the Yankee offense like the
- 23:05Speaker 7: past eighteen years, and the front office, for some reason,
- 23:10Speaker 7: just keeps doubling down on this formula and being like,
- 23:15Speaker 7: I don't know why this isn't working every postseason.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Not to nitpick, but there's no way you watch one
- 23:20Speaker 3: hundred and sixty two Yankees games in a year.
- 23:22Speaker 6: No, he does, he does.
- 23:23Speaker 4: I do.
- 23:24Speaker 7: I don't watch them all live, but if I miss
- 23:27Speaker 7: a game, I'll replay it.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Okay, that's crazy, but it's also making so much sense.
- 23:32Speaker 3: And I hate that I'm gonna do this to Taylor
- 23:35Speaker 3: right now because it was a private conversation, but I
- 23:38Speaker 3: had asked Taylor STU because I'm promoting I'm trying to
- 23:41Speaker 3: get our Flag Football League numbers up again. If you're
- 23:44Speaker 3: in South Florida and want to play flag football, my
- 23:45Speaker 3: name is Real good Chairs. Look me up on Instagram,
- 23:47Speaker 3: hit me up. But I'm trying to promote that I'm
- 23:50Speaker 3: trying to get our numbers back up. And I kind
- 23:52Speaker 3: of had a feeling when Taylor asked me to play
- 23:55Speaker 3: softball that he only really played football over that one season.
- 23:58Speaker 4: As it's sort of a quid pro quot, like I'll
- 24:00Speaker 4: do it if you do it for me, and.
- 24:02Speaker 6: So home and home.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yes, I reluctantly asked him, Hey, do you want to
- 24:07Speaker 3: join us again in the fall. It'll be a better season,
- 24:09Speaker 3: I promise. It was an immediate note. And the reasoning
- 24:13Speaker 3: I don't even know if he wants me to say this,
- 24:15Speaker 3: but the reasoning is it doesn't have the same love
- 24:18Speaker 3: for the game. No love for the game the game
- 24:20Speaker 3: that he played in college and he had the confidence
- 24:22Speaker 3: to walk on to a team.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Yes, does not have the love for the game.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Has too many potential injuries.
- 24:27Speaker 1: When you played at that level though a D one level,
- 24:30Speaker 1: everything else falls short and competitive.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Game right, But also I realized the second I saw
- 24:36Speaker 7: you swing the bat, I didn't need that Home at
- 24:37Speaker 7: Home anymore.
- 24:40Speaker 4: He did not even swing the bat much.
- 24:41Speaker 1: He was bringing more to your team than you were
- 24:43Speaker 1: bringing to his team, you.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Know, I mean, no, he didn't show up for my team.
- 24:46Speaker 3: He showed up twice, so he didn't get but the
- 24:48Speaker 3: timing did show up. I think he had a pick
- 24:50Speaker 3: six and he lost the two games. Yeah, that's all
- 24:52Speaker 3: you need to know.
- 24:53Speaker 4: When I played flag, when I played flag football, keeping stads.
- 24:58Speaker 4: My only thought when.
- 24:58Speaker 7: I'm playing flag football out there is well my football
- 25:02Speaker 7: senior season ended with a torn a cl and the
- 25:05Speaker 7: only thing I could think out there playing flag football
- 25:08Speaker 7: decade later is yeah, don't tear your a cl if
- 25:12Speaker 7: I tear my east, if I tear my ACL and
- 25:15Speaker 7: is he's flag football League one, I'll never forgive, is he?
- 25:18Speaker 7: And that that is that is too much for my
- 25:21Speaker 7: own conscience?
- 25:22Speaker 10: Right?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Were you surprised by the way is he when Taylor said,
- 25:26Speaker 1: if you cut me open, pinch stripes come.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Out, because we had pin stripes, Yankee pincher.
- 25:30Speaker 1: There's a number of options, Carolina Blue, Jalen Brunson's Blood.
- 25:35Speaker 7: So for my list of teams, the team that I
- 25:39Speaker 7: wanted to see when a title the most is the Knicks.
- 25:42Speaker 7: But the team that enrages me the most and the
- 25:45Speaker 7: team I'm the most passionate about, is the Yankees. And
- 25:48Speaker 7: I think that kind of comes with being a one
- 25:50Speaker 7: sixty twur. Like if you're a one sixty two. Ricardo's
- 25:54Speaker 7: nodding his head along right now because he's a Marlins
- 25:56Speaker 7: one sixty two, he would.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Watch one sixty seven if they had it.
- 25:59Speaker 7: Yeah, if you're one sixty two or you gotta screw loose.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I haven't screwed it. I have never heard of somebody
- 26:05Speaker 3: rewatching or watching for the first time a taped baseball game.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yeah, so just get me the score.
- 26:11Speaker 7: What I'll do in those situations is I'll try to
- 26:14Speaker 7: stay off social media. It's it's tougher than ever right
- 26:17Speaker 7: now because I've got a Yankee group chat and it's
- 26:21Speaker 7: just me and two of my friends from home. It's
- 26:25Speaker 7: it's tough to not get things spoiled in this era
- 26:28Speaker 7: of sports media.
- 26:29Speaker 3: You see. Now, I just want to join a softball
- 26:31Speaker 3: league just so I can prove to Taylor if I
- 26:32Speaker 3: play a couple of times, I could play that game
- 26:34Speaker 3: just fine.
- 26:35Speaker 10: Dan.
- 26:36Speaker 8: You know it's funny because in Taylor talking about not
- 26:39Speaker 8: wanting to tear his ACL, I can totally relate to that,
- 26:43Speaker 8: but it reminded me of being irrational and Taylor watching
- 26:47Speaker 8: so many games. Remember I had my golf trip to
- 26:49Speaker 8: Michigan like late May. Anytime my five year old son
- 26:53Speaker 8: would want to, you know, play around, jump on my back,
- 26:55Speaker 8: I'm fine with it. But the week before when he
- 26:58Speaker 8: would jump on my back, get off, Get off my back,
- 27:01Speaker 8: because I did not want to pull a muscle a
- 27:03Speaker 8: week before the golf trip. So in a way, when
- 27:06Speaker 8: Taylor's talking about not wanting to tear a his ACL,
- 27:08Speaker 8: which is a much more uh you know, PTSD with
- 27:11Speaker 8: all of it, much worse injury, I was the same
- 27:14Speaker 8: way in making sure that my golf trip would not
- 27:16Speaker 8: be ruined by pulled muscle in my back.
- 27:18Speaker 4: So I thank you Dan.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, yes, because as you get older, and Dan
- 27:22Speaker 1: Byer is right about this, you will not play other sports.
- 27:25Speaker 1: You won't do anything that will jeopardize your golf game.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Correct one percent?
- 27:31Speaker 6: Yes.
- 27:31Speaker 7: And another thing about this Yankee team yesterday, I'm watching
- 27:35Speaker 7: this Yankee team. Yea, Luis Garcia Junior hits a two
- 27:39Speaker 7: run home run. The Yankees come back from down six
- 27:42Speaker 7: to nothing. He hits a home run when they're down
- 27:44Speaker 7: six to five, he makes it seven to six. My
- 27:46Speaker 7: Yankee group chat is buzzing. All the boys are talking
- 27:49Speaker 7: to him there.
- 27:49Speaker 3: With two people on there. Yeah, it's not all the people.
- 27:52Speaker 3: It's very sad.
- 27:53Speaker 7: Yes, we were buzzing, and the conversation was I think
- 27:56Speaker 7: Luis Garcia Junior just earned his pinstripes. But horse, of course,
- 28:01Speaker 7: Brian Cashman doesn't add any bullpen arms, which is inexcusable
- 28:06Speaker 7: really for this Yankee team. And what does he do?
- 28:09Speaker 7: He relies on on hell trevih who had a seven
- 28:12Speaker 7: ERA with the Colorado Rockies last year, to be this
- 28:16Speaker 7: guy who has a point five to six ERA in
- 28:18Speaker 7: fourteen innings this year, And what if trev do he
- 28:20Speaker 7: gives up a seventh spot seven?
- 28:23Speaker 4: Disgusting?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Taylor put it on the poll. Is being healthy
- 28:26Speaker 1: for your golf game more important than your kid's happiness?
- 28:31Speaker 10: The week before?
- 28:32Speaker 4: It is?
- 28:34Speaker 3: I see you laughing, Dad, I think for Dad, it's
- 28:36Speaker 3: any time.
- 28:37Speaker 8: No, No, I love him, but hey, I no chances
- 28:39Speaker 8: were taken. Everything was paid for. There were no more refunds.
- 28:43Speaker 8: He couldn't get any changes on the plane ticket. We
- 28:46Speaker 8: were locked in, so this back better'd be in shape.
- 28:49Speaker 6: Are we doing? Is it just me?
- 28:50Speaker 3: Or I don't know? Are we just gonna let Taylor
- 28:54Speaker 3: rant about the Yankees.
- 28:55Speaker 7: Add a single bullpen arm, it would be one thing
- 28:59Speaker 7: like the shortstop. Okay, no shortstops got moved. That just
- 29:03Speaker 7: means no short stops were available. There were plenty of
- 29:07Speaker 7: options to add a reliever, and now they did trade
- 29:10Speaker 7: Camille Deval, so it's almost like an addition by subtraction,
- 29:12Speaker 7: because Camille Deval has been absolutely terrible on the Yankees.
- 29:16Speaker 4: But take your word for it.
- 29:18Speaker 7: This bullpen, Yeah, this bullpen is being held together right
- 29:22Speaker 7: now with like duct tape and it's falling apart really quickly,
- 29:26Speaker 7: and it's it's it's killing my mental health.
- 29:31Speaker 6: George, I can hear him.
- 29:34Speaker 7: Do not mention George Lombard because it was so predictable
- 29:39Speaker 7: that the Yankees call up their number one prospect the
- 29:42Speaker 7: day after the trade deadline, because Brian Cashman waltzed into
- 29:46Speaker 7: the trade deadline saying, I know I'm not gonna make
- 29:48Speaker 7: any move. I know the Yankee fans are going to
- 29:51Speaker 7: be mad when I don't make any moves. So what
- 29:53Speaker 7: am I gonna do? I'm gonna call up this prospect
- 29:57Speaker 7: on August fourth, the day after the trade deadline, beca
- 30:00Speaker 7: because that's gonna be the red meat that I throw
- 30:02Speaker 7: up to these Yankee fans.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah, good luck, George Lombard.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Have you mentioned Taylor? The grade you gave Cashman.
- 30:09Speaker 4: D D you got Louise scar See it, we lead
- 30:12Speaker 4: the league in platoons.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Sounds like it sounds like you're talking about a guy
- 30:16Speaker 3: who deserves it.
- 30:17Speaker 7: If we are going to get to the postseason and
- 30:18Speaker 7: the Yankees are gonna have two completely different lineups because
- 30:22Speaker 7: one one lineup only hits righty's, one lineup only hits lefties.
- 30:26Speaker 7: And then the team, like the Red Sox is gonna
- 30:28Speaker 7: start with the lefty. We're gonna have our righty lineup
- 30:30Speaker 7: in They're gonna put a righty in the bullpen, and
- 30:32Speaker 7: everybody's gonna be like, what do we do? What happened
- 30:34Speaker 7: in the days where people were everyday players that could
- 30:37Speaker 7: hit righty's on lefty?
- 30:38Speaker 3: I do not have enough players to just go all
- 30:40Speaker 3: the other side, all right, everybody, We're switching everybody out
- 30:43Speaker 3: hitting facing a left hander?
- 30:44Speaker 6: Now, I mean, what's wrong with the platoon? I love
- 30:46Speaker 6: a good platoon.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I did every once in a while, not at every position.
- 30:49Speaker 4: And now player in this lineup platoon Yankees.
- 30:53Speaker 6: But in baseball, if you have two, then you have
- 30:55Speaker 6: one occasional.
- 30:56Speaker 4: It is the rare.
- 30:56Speaker 7: Situation because Louis Garcia Junior, that's two ninety five right,
- 31:01Speaker 7: and Paul Goldschmi bat's three zero six against lefties right,
- 31:04Speaker 7: and if you combine their right, he's in lefty splits.
- 31:06Speaker 6: They're great.
- 31:07Speaker 4: It is one heck of a player.
- 31:12Speaker 6: Mikey, are you a one sixty two?
- 31:13Speaker 10: Ur uh No, I'm more of like a one oh five.
- 31:18Speaker 3: If you're in the hundreds, it's two one oh.
- 31:19Speaker 10: Five or anything West Coast. I'm out anything like I'm
- 31:23Speaker 10: not staying home to watch it.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, is there anything left on your chest?
- 31:26Speaker 4: There? Taylor team team.
- 31:29Speaker 7: And then now we're sending Anthony Volpi down to the
- 31:33Speaker 7: minor leagues, and Anthony Volpi's coming out saying he's gonna
- 31:35Speaker 7: work on second base, or Aaron Boon saying he's gonna
- 31:37Speaker 7: work on shortsop and second base. I think this might
- 31:41Speaker 7: be the end for Anthony Volpi, but I also do
- 31:43Speaker 7: see a scenario where he's he's the Yankees starting second
- 31:45Speaker 7: baseman because Jazz Chisholm, pack your bags, buddy. I know
- 31:49Speaker 7: you got to finish out these three months with the Yankees. Yes,
- 31:52Speaker 7: whatever you do, Jazz Chisholm in these next three months.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Good luck on the Cincinnati Reds last next year, right, I.
- 31:58Speaker 10: Look forward to you striking out in a big spot
- 32:00Speaker 10: in October.
- 32:01Speaker 3: It'd be odd to back your bags though in August.
- 32:03Speaker 10: No.
- 32:04Speaker 7: Yeah, but just Chisholm he epitomizes this Yankee team where
- 32:08Speaker 7: he says he doesn't like playing cold weather baseball. Jez,
- 32:12Speaker 7: I hate to break it to you. It gets pretty
- 32:14Speaker 7: cold in the fall in New York City. Trade him
- 32:18Speaker 7: back to the Marlins.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Is it just me?
- 32:22Speaker 3: Or we were supposed to do it here? We did it.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Taylor had to give Cashman a d We'll do it next.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
- 32:32Speaker 2: Live Weekday. He said, three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.
- 32:39Speaker 1: If you didn't get enough Yankees in that last segment,
- 32:42Speaker 1: Jake Storey Alley get.
- 32:43Speaker 4: To join us coming up next segment.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Danny Amandola going to join us next hour as well,
- 32:51Speaker 1: and we'll get to the one hundred greatest baseball players
- 32:53Speaker 1: of all time, according to a guy named Jake.
- 32:55Speaker 6: God, I'm tired of this list.
- 32:57Speaker 1: J though not Jake's story, owing no Jake would do
- 33:01Speaker 1: it correctly.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Let's get to uh, is it just me? Or give
- 33:05Speaker 3: me the music?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Guy with sim who wants to kick off the proceedings
- 33:12Speaker 1: today Taylor does?
- 33:14Speaker 4: Is it just mirrored?
- 33:14Speaker 7: Does Brian Cashman kind of stick at his job because
- 33:16Speaker 7: you would think that the Yankees would have been a
- 33:18Speaker 7: little more aggressive at the deadline, Oh cash Man.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Izz He and I proclaimed during the break that we
- 33:27Speaker 1: are now rooting for the Yankees to win it all.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I want them to win it I want them to
- 33:31Speaker 3: be the reason why the rest of the baseball it's like, Okay,
- 33:34Speaker 3: we don't need a salary. Yeah, because they beat the
- 33:36Speaker 3: Dodgers and it would make Taylor somehow both equally happy
- 33:40Speaker 3: and frustrated.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Realistically, the Yankees can win it all because the path
- 33:46Speaker 7: to the World Series from the American League has never
- 33:49Speaker 7: been easier.
- 33:49Speaker 4: It's the Yankees, It's the Rays, it's the Red Sox.
- 33:52Speaker 7: It's gonna be one of those three teams because nobody's
- 33:54Speaker 7: believing in the Is it just Mirrod? Does nobody believe
- 33:56Speaker 7: in the Chicago White Sox second one right there?
- 34:00Speaker 6: Baseball?
- 34:00Speaker 3: Would it be if it were Dodgers White soze, I'm
- 34:05Speaker 3: just learning the White Socks are good.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Yeah, scrappy.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Worst team in the league last year.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Shout at the series. Very exciting. Let's go out to
- 34:14Speaker 1: Sherman Oaks, Dan.
- 34:15Speaker 8: Byer guys off of the heels of the slider conversation earlier.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Is it just me?
- 34:20Speaker 8: Or could we ditch the mini on sliders because aren't
- 34:22Speaker 8: they already mini as it is?
- 34:23Speaker 4: Yes, you're right.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Any sliders it's like ATM machine, Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Tin number ATM machine, put it on the pole tailor yeah?
- 34:32Speaker 6: Can we ditch the mini on many sliders?
- 34:35Speaker 3: Dan's right about I feel like you guys are short
- 34:38Speaker 3: changing beef carpaccio, like it's really good.
- 34:40Speaker 10: We're not.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I'm not saying for a tailcame, No, we're not.
- 34:44Speaker 4: It's the name beef carpaccio.
- 34:45Speaker 7: It sounds like Ken Rosenthal would love beef carpaccio pretentious.
- 34:50Speaker 3: If it is bow tie.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Oh, sure, I'll have some beef carpaccio.
- 34:57Speaker 4: It's good.
- 34:57Speaker 3: It's Tinley slice.
- 34:58Speaker 4: It's very nice.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Mikey, Yeah, you have one for us?
- 35:02Speaker 4: I do Is it just me? Or is there no
- 35:05Speaker 4: way to.
- 35:06Speaker 9: Ask for a manager without seeming like an absolute Karen
- 35:11Speaker 9: or an absolute pretentious guy.
- 35:13Speaker 11: Because I had to speak to a manager at a
- 35:15Speaker 11: store today and it had nothing to do with a complaint.
- 35:18Speaker 11: I was literally going to ask him about a fundraising
- 35:21Speaker 11: thing for my kids' baseball team.
- 35:23Speaker 3: When I went up to the work and I was like, Hi,
- 35:25Speaker 3: is there a manager around?
- 35:26Speaker 9: And she immediately was like, oh, geez, look at you.
- 35:29Speaker 9: I was like, no, it's really not a complaint, but
- 35:31Speaker 9: there's just no way to do it without seeming like
- 35:34Speaker 9: you're going to be one of.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Those You couldn't be more correct there, Mikey, because I
- 35:38Speaker 3: was at a store the other day and I was
- 35:41Speaker 3: complaining because it was something that was supposed to be delivered.
- 35:43Speaker 3: It was told me it was delivered and said I
- 35:45Speaker 3: went to go pick it up and.
- 35:46Speaker 4: It wasn't there.
- 35:47Speaker 3: And I did everything in my power to not ask
- 35:50Speaker 3: for the manager, but it was clear, Hey, I'm going
- 35:53Speaker 3: to keep talking until somebody above you comes to talks
- 35:56Speaker 3: to me.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Mikey.
- 35:57Speaker 7: I think the way you could have done it is
- 35:59Speaker 7: if you went to the employee and said, I love
- 36:03Speaker 7: this star.
- 36:03Speaker 4: You guys are doing great. Here.
- 36:05Speaker 7: Can I talk to the manager, because then I think
- 36:07Speaker 7: you're coming in from a more friendly perspective.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I thought for sure you were going to go in
- 36:11Speaker 6: on the Yankees manager.
- 36:12Speaker 4: No, I have no problem with Aaron Boone.
- 36:15Speaker 7: Brian Cashon might as well be tying Aaron Boone's hands,
- 36:18Speaker 7: find his back and saying good luck trying to manage
- 36:20Speaker 7: this team.
- 36:20Speaker 4: I don't think anybody could win.
- 36:21Speaker 10: With this team or Aaron boom.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Yeah, if it was up to Aaron Boone, Aaron Boone
- 36:26Speaker 4: would have got a catcher this week.
- 36:28Speaker 3: I don't think Aaron Boone talked to the general manager.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Aaron Boone doesn't want to keep trotting out Austin Wells
- 36:33Speaker 7: every day.
- 36:35Speaker 6: Go ahead?
- 36:36Speaker 10: Is it?
- 36:37Speaker 3: What game?
- 36:37Speaker 6: Is this? Is it just me?
- 36:38Speaker 8: Is it just me?
- 36:39Speaker 4: Or is it just me?
- 36:40Speaker 3: Or do people actually think they can pass or are
- 36:43Speaker 3: supposed to pass a field sobriety test? Obviously, the conversation
- 36:48Speaker 3: came up with Tony Romo and his field sobriety test
- 36:50Speaker 3: and how hilarious it was and everything was on video
- 36:52Speaker 3: and it was way too, way too online. Those things
- 36:54Speaker 3: are very embarrassing, I'm sure, but do people not recognize it?
- 36:58Speaker 3: Those are designed, They're completely subjective, it's not even that
- 37:02Speaker 3: they're tricky difficult you have to fall in structures. They're
- 37:05Speaker 3: entirely subjective, to the point where the CoP's gonna say, ooh, yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 3: you didn't do too well on that.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Here's the breathalyzer.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah, if I ever get pulled over, it's a bridge
- 37:12Speaker 1: to the breathalyzed exactly.
- 37:13Speaker 3: It doesn't matter if all you have to do is
- 37:15Speaker 3: say the alphabet. They're like, I don't know, you kind
- 37:17Speaker 3: of went through m LMNOP too quickly. See, I even
- 37:20Speaker 3: screwed it up right there. Boom, here's a breathalyzer. If
- 37:22Speaker 3: I ever get pulled over on suspicion for drunk driving,
- 37:25Speaker 3: as long as I haven't been drinking, which I don't
- 37:27Speaker 3: drink and drive, i'd be just can we just speed
- 37:29Speaker 3: it up and get me the breathalyzer, please, because I
- 37:31Speaker 3: do not need to go through this embarrassing nonsense just
- 37:34Speaker 3: for you to tell me that, oh I failed and
- 37:36Speaker 3: now I have to breathe.
- 37:37Speaker 4: I like that.
- 37:37Speaker 1: You get pulled over, you pull down the window and
- 37:40Speaker 1: as the cops walking toward your car, you say to him, hey,
- 37:43Speaker 1: you better bring the breathalyzer.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Right because you know, no one says that. Let's pick
- 37:48Speaker 3: up the pace here, right.
- 37:49Speaker 6: Oh, this guy is super confident.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Go ahead, dad, I'm not defending Tony Romo.
- 37:53Speaker 8: But when she goes I'm gonna do this three times,
- 37:55Speaker 8: you need to do it eighteen eighteen times, I'm like, oh,
- 37:58Speaker 8: this is a little too much.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Six maybe you know seven, but right, goshhizzy.
- 38:04Speaker 4: I have two recurring nightmares.
- 38:06Speaker 7: One of them is I'm about to play football game
- 38:09Speaker 7: and I don't know the playbook. The second recurring nightmare
- 38:12Speaker 7: is I get pulled over and a cop makes me
- 38:16Speaker 7: recite the alphabet backwards and I couldn't do that in
- 38:20Speaker 7: a clear state.
- 38:20Speaker 3: I would do that so slow that you would think
- 38:22Speaker 3: I was drugg.
- 38:23Speaker 6: It's a tricky bridge to the breathalyzers.
- 38:25Speaker 4: That's it.
- 38:26Speaker 3: It's unnecessary.
- 38:27Speaker 6: They literally want you to stumble into the breathalyzer.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I almost asked for breathalyzer one time. The furthest any
- 38:32Speaker 3: cop has ever gone with me is they've shone their
- 38:33Speaker 3: light in my eyes at some point when they pulled
- 38:35Speaker 3: me over, and I was like, am I good?
- 38:37Speaker 10: All right?
- 38:37Speaker 3: I'm out here?
- 38:38Speaker 6: Is it just me?
- 38:40Speaker 1: Or do the people who feel the need to jog
- 38:42Speaker 1: in place on the street corner because the light is green.
- 38:48Speaker 3: That's me.
- 38:49Speaker 6: Are they annoying?
- 38:50Speaker 1: Hey, we get it. You're jogging. You can't stop, not
- 38:53Speaker 1: even for a light. You have to jog in place
- 38:55Speaker 1: just to show it me. Hey, I'm still jogging. I
- 38:57Speaker 1: never stopped jogging. Why I'm a jogger and I always
- 39:00Speaker 1: jogg Get over yourselves.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Stop jogging for a second, is he?
- 39:04Speaker 4: You didn't have to tell us that was you. We
- 39:07Speaker 4: know that's you.
- 39:08Speaker 6: The reason you said I was talking directly into your soul.
- 39:11Speaker 3: The reason you don't stop is because once you stop,
- 39:13Speaker 3: it changes everything. I've got to keep going. If I stop,
- 39:16Speaker 3: I get comfortable. It's like, man, I don't want to
- 39:18Speaker 3: start up again. You just got to keep the same pace.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Get over yourself.
- 39:21Speaker 3: I will not Jake's story Alley Neggs.
- 39:25Speaker 1: We will get to the one hundred greatest baseball Players
- 39:28Speaker 1: of all time, the one hundred greatest dot com. It's
- 39:30Speaker 1: the top one hundred baseball players of all time according
- 39:33Speaker 1: to a guy named Jake. But before during the break
- 39:36Speaker 1: here is he had some odd tennis takes that I
- 39:39Speaker 1: wanted him to share with the audience.
- 39:41Speaker 3: If you don't mind, now, I have to trash Taylor Fritz.
- 39:44Speaker 3: It's okay. So Taylor is very good at coming up
- 39:48Speaker 3: with names that connote such and such, and so when
- 39:51Speaker 3: I said this might have been a freebie for him,
- 39:53Speaker 3: when I said things were on the Fritz, and he
- 39:55Speaker 3: said Taylor Fritz, and then he said athletes that cannote dysfunction,
- 39:58Speaker 3: and he hit us with Jordan Star, which was great.
- 40:01Speaker 3: It made me think of how much it's not that
- 40:04Speaker 3: I dislike Taylor Fritz specifically.
- 40:07Speaker 6: Well, it seems like you do.
- 40:08Speaker 3: It's just what he represents in terms of American male tennis.
- 40:11Speaker 3: It's like when I grew up, I used to like
- 40:13Speaker 3: skip school to watch Andre Agassi or maybe Pete Sampers
- 40:17Speaker 3: every once in a while, and you know, a lot
- 40:19Speaker 3: of times those guys cashed in. I was not a
- 40:22Speaker 3: Courier fan, but he won some majors as well. And
- 40:25Speaker 3: ever since then, we got the one from Andy Roddick
- 40:27Speaker 3: in the US Open, and it's just been a bunch
- 40:29Speaker 3: of disappointing dudes. And that's all that Taylor Fritz continues
- 40:32Speaker 3: to disappoint And it's just like, Okay, what he represents
- 40:35Speaker 3: I don't.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Like he looks like a country club.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Well he does. He has put it on the poll.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Just Taylor Fritz look like a country club like Ben
- 40:41Speaker 3: Shelton wins something.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Please please, So what you're saying is good but not
- 40:45Speaker 1: good enough?
- 40:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and like, look, I get it, you're in the
- 40:48Speaker 3: wrong area. You're in the Aero Fed and the doll
- 40:50Speaker 3: and Joker and now sinners up there with an alcaaz.
- 40:53Speaker 3: But be one of those guys. How about we develop
- 40:56Speaker 3: an alcaaz here in the US.
- 40:58Speaker 6: I mean, those guys are great, is it?
- 40:59Speaker 3: Ave? Is he skipped school to watch agacy or samprs.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Skipping school for opening day is one thing, I mean,
- 41:07Speaker 1: But to watch a tennis match.
- 41:09Speaker 3: It really only happened during the French Open because I
- 41:11Speaker 3: think it's the only one that lined up with Hey,
- 41:13Speaker 3: these matches are happening in the day here Eastern Standard time,
- 41:16Speaker 3: and they're big ones.
- 41:19Speaker 10: I have never cared about a sporting event enough to skip.
- 41:21Speaker 9: School, really, wow, I mean out other than going to
- 41:26Speaker 9: opening day.
- 41:26Speaker 3: No NCAA tournament that didn't make you want to skip
- 41:28Speaker 3: school a little bit? Come on?
- 41:31Speaker 1: Not a tennis match though, I mean really that's just
- 41:34Speaker 1: the point was.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I just didn't need to go to school that offen
- 41:36Speaker 3: It was just kind of an annoyance.
- 41:37Speaker 6: Have you seen the Nadal documentary? Have it not?
- 41:41Speaker 3: Do they address why he doesn't work out his right arm?
- 41:44Speaker 6: No? No, no, then, Raa, I got you, man.
- 41:48Speaker 4: You were hurts.
- 41:49Speaker 6: We get it, you were in pain, your foot hurt.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I got it, I got you, I got it.
- 41:55Speaker 6: That's the entire movie.
- 41:56Speaker 1: The whole thing is Rafael the doll and his foot
- 41:59Speaker 1: not being able to fit into a sneaker.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I mean yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Most of the times when I see like the subject
- 42:06Speaker 3: of a documentary, and if it's an athlete, I'm like,
- 42:09Speaker 3: do I think they have a really interesting story? No,
- 42:12Speaker 3: I'm not gonna watch that one.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I mean, Ravas is interesting. He played an entire career
- 42:17Speaker 1: through pain. But we got it right.
- 42:20Speaker 3: You know how many people play through pain?
- 42:21Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 42:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'd like to bring that game back.
- 42:24Speaker 4: I got you. I got you from Mark Cockman Staple.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Hey, Rafa, I got you. You're hurt, you're injured, you're
- 42:31Speaker 1: not feeling good.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Anyway, let's get to this list of the one hundred
- 42:35Speaker 1: greatest baseball players.
- 42:36Speaker 6: Thank you for sharing your tennis takes with us.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yeah, no problem. Thanks for pushing at me.
- 42:40Speaker 1: It was a private conversation he didn't want to blast
- 42:43Speaker 1: Tailor friends. He does look like a country club, there's
- 42:46Speaker 1: no question about it. We left off at number fifty eight,
- 42:49Speaker 1: trist Speaker, I would like to mow through as many
- 42:51Speaker 1: of these names as possible because I'm tired of this
- 42:53Speaker 1: damn list.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Your boat you muted.
- 42:58Speaker 10: I was gonna say, yeah, you don't love this list.
- 43:00Speaker 3: I don't love it.
- 43:02Speaker 6: I don't know what's good.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 43:04Speaker 6: Tony Gwynn at eighty something is unfair. It's just wrong.
- 43:07Speaker 3: It's exciting from us.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Why come on with us when we're promoting his website
- 43:13Speaker 1: every single day?
- 43:14Speaker 6: All right?
- 43:15Speaker 1: So fifty seven, Mikey fifty eight again, was Tris Speaker
- 43:18Speaker 1: a great player back in the forties. I think you've
- 43:20Speaker 1: been earlier, No earlier than that, realiens, Okay, sorry.
- 43:26Speaker 9: Number fifty seven our third active player Freddy Freeman.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Really, man, Taylor, you put him on this level because
- 43:35Speaker 3: I know he's won a lot and he's done some stuff,
- 43:37Speaker 3: But like, for some reason, I don't consider him on
- 43:39Speaker 3: this level.
- 43:40Speaker 7: I think Freddy Freeman has earned his place on this level,
- 43:43Speaker 7: especially with this recent Dodgers run. But Vlad Guerrero was
- 43:47Speaker 7: below Freddy Freeman, and my gut tells me Vlad Guerrero
- 43:53Speaker 7: in his prime was better than Freddy Freeman.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, your gut is one hundred.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Well, your gut doesn't need to tell you that I
- 43:58Speaker 1: saw him both in their primes. I sound old when
- 44:00Speaker 1: I say that of Vlad.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Guerrero was better.
- 44:02Speaker 6: It's why I don't like this list. Number fifty six.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Before you go there, You know what I think of
- 44:06Speaker 3: when I when I think of Freddy Freeman, immediately fake teeth.
- 44:09Speaker 3: That guy's got the fakest teeth I've ever seen in
- 44:11Speaker 3: my life.
- 44:13Speaker 1: The F and Freddy stands for fake teeth. How about
- 44:15Speaker 1: that number fifty six?
- 44:18Speaker 9: Oh Jake, I had such high hopes for you, and
- 44:21Speaker 9: now I'm very disappointed you.
- 44:22Speaker 10: Picked the list fifty six. I understand number fifty six.
- 44:26Speaker 9: Anybody want to take a guess, fifty six being the
- 44:29Speaker 9: key number there?
- 44:30Speaker 6: So who's the best fifty six?
- 44:32Speaker 1: Joe Demagio, Joe DiMaggio, number fifty six, Well, it should
- 44:36Speaker 1: be top fifty six game hitting streak, right, yeah, he
- 44:39Speaker 1: should probably be in the top ten.
- 44:40Speaker 10: No, probably, Yes.
- 44:43Speaker 3: You know what that used to be a number that
- 44:45Speaker 3: I knew right off the top of my head. I
- 44:47Speaker 3: was like, oh, I get that reference. It took me
- 44:49Speaker 3: a minute. I was like, wait, what what did he wear?
- 44:51Speaker 3: Number fifty six? And I was like, oh, yeah, the
