- 0:27Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Richard Sherman Podcast. And we got
- 0:30Speaker 1: another incredible guest, the receiver for the San Francisco forty
- 0:34Speaker 1: nine ers, Kendrick Boring My boy KB suck Sure what
- 0:38Speaker 1: upby Man? You had a fun year. You had it,
- 0:41Speaker 1: You got your bonus, you that foy look, got your chippers.
- 0:46Speaker 1: What does the future hold for young KB? You're coming back.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm trying to come back. Talk to Kyle Man. You know,
- 0:51Speaker 2: Kyle got a good relationship with him.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Man.
- 0:53Speaker 2: We had a good exit meeting Man. So you know,
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm trying to make it happen. Man, That's always the goal.
- 0:57Speaker 2: San Francisco is home, man, and so coming back having
- 1:00Speaker 2: a good year, like you said, was powerful. So I'm
- 1:02Speaker 2: trying to run it back money talk, but that's just
- 1:05Speaker 2: definitely home. So that's holding a special place in my heart.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yes, money definitely talks, But it was just it just
- 1:09Speaker 1: was so real when you came back and how everybody
- 1:12Speaker 1: received you. You put that eighty four on and it just
- 1:14Speaker 1: looked right.
- 1:15Speaker 2: It just it just was right back to how it felt. So, man,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I appreciate Kyle John and I love how I left
- 1:20Speaker 2: on a good note, left with a good relationship. That's powerful, man.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So any players out there, don't don't don't leave it,
- 1:26Speaker 2: go on Twitter. Died down your last team, never know
- 1:29Speaker 2: where you might need to come back, So kind of
- 1:31Speaker 2: left on that note and it was good for.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You, right right. Don't don't speed past the facility. But
- 1:41Speaker 1: it will talk to me about this substation thing because
- 1:44Speaker 1: they make it such a big deal about this, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, nobody, how has this been around this long?
- 1:50Speaker 1: And nobody ever said anything, And that was the biggest.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So I'm running off with a story. You you've been
- 1:56Speaker 2: on that grass, you know when it turned brown.
- 1:58Speaker 4: It turned brown at the end of the year.
- 2:00Speaker 2: But the soccer field over there, the little girls soccer field,
- 2:04Speaker 2: it's stay green all year. Low key. I just start
- 2:06Speaker 2: driving past noticing. So I don't know, Jay, but it
- 2:12Speaker 2: be brown. I'm like, how the grass brown? It's not
- 2:15Speaker 2: to rainy in San France, it ain't too hot. It
- 2:19Speaker 2: should really be green. Right, you've got a gardener. But
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm telling you so, I'm a conspiracy theorist. Bra But
- 2:27Speaker 2: it's just crazy, man. It's too many injuries. So what's crazy?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Said?
- 2:30Speaker 4: They gonna look into it.
- 2:31Speaker 1: What's crazy is the team has been trying to acquire
- 2:33Speaker 1: that field for the longest and then acting like they
- 2:35Speaker 1: can't give the team that field because of the soccer
- 2:38Speaker 1: And that's a story different. Oh, they've been trying to
- 2:41Speaker 1: get it. It was a huge fight. They've been trying to
- 2:43Speaker 1: acquire that land, and maybe things would be different if
- 2:45Speaker 1: they were over there. But uh, you know, so the
- 2:48Speaker 1: city of Santa Claire, you know easily this we got
- 2:52Speaker 1: that chee.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Look, you can build a whole nother soccer field. I
- 2:55Speaker 4: promise you. I promise you.
- 2:57Speaker 1: We can build another soccer field for him. That's not
- 2:59Speaker 1: right next to an inn. But tell me about this matchup.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You obviously played against the Seattle Seahawks and you played
- 3:08Speaker 1: for the New England Patriots. What Mike Brable has done
- 3:12Speaker 1: for this team has been incredible. What Mike McDonald has
- 3:15Speaker 1: done for this team has been incredible. How do you
- 3:16Speaker 1: see this matchup going?
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be a defensive game.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Man.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Shout out to my guys in New England. Man, you
- 3:21Speaker 2: know them is all my guys went to war with
- 3:22Speaker 2: those guys, so I'm happy that they getting to experience it.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Just telling them the Soga Dotland man enjoy it. And
- 3:28Speaker 2: then I got my guy Cooper Cup over there. So
- 3:30Speaker 2: I'm kind of room for both sides. But them both defenses, man,
- 3:33Speaker 2: are phenomenal. Man like me experiencing going against New England
- 3:37Speaker 2: and practice and stuff. They know what they're doing. Braids
- 3:40Speaker 2: got the mindset, the mentality right. McDonald got them right
- 3:43Speaker 2: from me playing against them. Them boys were jumping routes
- 3:47Speaker 2: bro Dreeland and Wis Moon. I'm like, hey, I'm taking
- 3:51Speaker 2: six steps. How do you know you count my steps?
- 3:54Speaker 4: I'm like nah, bro, nah bro.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And so they just on that that they ain't sync
- 3:59Speaker 2: right now with the d line. They're confident, and you
- 4:02Speaker 2: know some dv is gonna just sit there like all right,
- 4:03Speaker 2: let them break and then go nah treaking them. They
- 4:06Speaker 2: Antsy and so in New England got those playermakers too,
- 4:10Speaker 2: Marcus Jones, Gonzo. So it's gonna be a defensive matchup
- 4:13Speaker 2: and both offense is gonna to be locked in. But
- 4:15Speaker 2: I think whoever makes the most players on defense comes
- 4:18Speaker 2: out top.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It's it's been crazy to watch the run that New
- 4:21Speaker 1: England's on and the defenses they've had to play against.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I mean they've played against Houston, who and now Fraake Maiden.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Got to take a beating.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I'm telling you it done.
- 4:31Speaker 4: They got it done.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And then they played against Denver, took a beating, but
- 4:35Speaker 1: they got it done.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And it's just one of those years you know, you
- 4:38Speaker 2: never know, the ball tipping away, more injuries and they
- 4:41Speaker 2: having a good year. Everything is kind of falling their way.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Not to take credit from them, but a lot of
- 4:46Speaker 2: people doubting them were.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Like their schedule.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But then when you say they get to the playoffs,
- 4:50Speaker 2: Houston ain't no pump. We struggled against him in the
- 4:52Speaker 2: San fran They kept us off the field. So just
- 4:55Speaker 2: them holding it down against Denver too, like you said,
- 4:58Speaker 2: it shows that they're in the right position. But Josh
- 5:00Speaker 2: McDaniel's Drake Vrabel the coach of their building. They kind
- 5:03Speaker 2: of bringing it back in your Patriots kind of back
- 5:05Speaker 2: people mad.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, they super mad.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But it's it's the things that that people don't appreciate
- 5:11Speaker 1: about Rabel and the Patriots that they've done well for
- 5:13Speaker 1: so many years. They rarely make mistakes in terms of
- 5:17Speaker 1: in game decision making, like when it's time to take
- 5:19Speaker 1: the points, that the points is taken, when it's a
- 5:21Speaker 1: third down and they should go for a fourth down,
- 5:23Speaker 1: they should go for what it's going for. You really
- 5:25Speaker 1: go into those games and you're like second guessing what
- 5:28Speaker 1: they did. Later on, you're like, they probably they probably
- 5:30Speaker 1: played it exactly how it should have played.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Nothing unorthodox, right, you know, bro and so and what
- 5:36Speaker 2: they and they take the risk at the right time.
- 5:38Speaker 2: What you're saying, like the fourth and two, fourth and one,
- 5:40Speaker 2: They're like, it makes sense. So I love Josh Man,
- 5:43Speaker 2: you know, I was with Josh so just seeing him
- 5:45Speaker 2: get back to who he is and in the same
- 5:48Speaker 2: place he was his I think it's his third tenor
- 5:50Speaker 2: and so man, I people asking me today like do
- 5:52Speaker 2: you wish you was in it? Heck, yeah, I wish,
- 5:54Speaker 2: of course, I mean lying if I was, But that's
- 5:57Speaker 2: just situations happened. God put me on a different path.
- 5:59Speaker 2: But I'm happy for those guys, man, And it it's
- 6:01Speaker 2: just dope to see from a distance. And I know
- 6:03Speaker 2: that I'll play in the Super Bowl. We've experienced together, man,
- 6:05Speaker 2: which is dope. And so just the experience in itself,
- 6:08Speaker 2: it's special for those guys.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it was fantastic and and and even then
- 6:12Speaker 1: for Josh, I mean, he's still getting paid from the Raiders,
- 6:14Speaker 1: so he ain't doing that at all. The Raiders fan Hiven,
- 6:19Speaker 1: the coach of the Super Bowl.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Right now, I'm gonna get ahead coaching job and get
- 6:22Speaker 2: fired on purpose. Good day.
- 6:28Speaker 1: But talk to me about your clothing, man. We got
- 6:31Speaker 1: your T shirt up here. What we got going?
- 6:33Speaker 2: We got born blessed man, Born blessed talks about man,
- 6:36Speaker 2: your purpose. Man, You're here for a reason. Everybody born
- 6:39Speaker 2: for a reason. Everybody got a purpose in life. But
- 6:41Speaker 2: you ain't gonna just find that. God gonna show you.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And when you make it there, you figure out why
- 6:45Speaker 2: you living. You born blessed man.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Boy, Well, I'll tell you what this ice seed sounds like.
- 6:49Speaker 4: You're born blessed. I'll tell you what.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Amazon Jewelers Amazon jewlers bringing down the chest over here.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I don't bring it.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Don't don't bring it. They say they bring it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Don't bring it, don't bring it, don't bring It's it's
- 7:03Speaker 1: so great to see the growth and maturity that you've
- 7:06Speaker 1: shown at this point in your career. Obviously, I saw
- 7:08Speaker 1: you as a younger man, and I heard a lot
- 7:11Speaker 1: about you from Junior Adams, who coached.
- 7:14Speaker 4: You know, June Bug in Dallas.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Man.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yes, with them bugging pickings and then.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Right and getting them right. And he said, he said,
- 7:21Speaker 4: his experiences with.
- 7:22Speaker 1: You and Cop get them right because dealing with.
- 7:26Speaker 4: A different different, different energies. No, that's fire, that's fire. Oh,
- 7:31Speaker 4: go ahead, go ahead.
- 7:32Speaker 1: How does it feel coming from Eastern and everything you
- 7:34Speaker 1: experienced there to this point in your career, that journey
- 7:37Speaker 1: that you've been through and in the growth that you've shown.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Man, Like I was talking about Coop, Man, that's
- 7:41Speaker 2: my God. Man, that's being connected for so long. I
- 7:43Speaker 2: always talk about you know, God put him in my
- 7:45Speaker 2: path for a reason. He was grinding when he was there,
- 7:48Speaker 2: doing the right things. And I didn't understand it at first.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I was like, man, he get more passes than me. Man,
- 7:52Speaker 2: he balling more than me. But as I got an
- 7:55Speaker 2: older now being around him in the league, in our
- 7:57Speaker 2: in our careers, it's like God was showing me a
- 7:59Speaker 2: long time ago how to carry myself, how to train,
- 8:02Speaker 2: how to think, how to operate.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And that's special.
- 8:04Speaker 2: But it all led to me and my career, you know,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and understanding once I got to league. And then when
- 8:09Speaker 2: you say I was young, I got to the league,
- 8:10Speaker 2: I was bloy and cheese and having fun. And I'm you,
- 8:15Speaker 2: ma Church, you get over you start to realize, man,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I don't need everything. I don't need every I got
- 8:18Speaker 2: a lot of change on evening wrong, But I've got
- 8:20Speaker 2: to a point where I can do a little bit now.
- 8:22Speaker 2: You know you you you buy certain things, you invest right,
- 8:24Speaker 2: you you do good with your finances, you can move different.
- 8:26Speaker 2: So I've grown in so many spaces through football. That's
- 8:29Speaker 2: why I love the game, man, because it it gives
- 8:31Speaker 2: you so many ventures in life that if you do
- 8:33Speaker 2: it right. You know what I'm saying you you can
- 8:35Speaker 2: You can do this for a long time in life.
- 8:36Speaker 4: No question.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And you're USO talk about that and and what that
- 8:41Speaker 1: means to you and and just being able to inspire
- 8:44Speaker 1: that community.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Bro, My culture is look, I got some more on
- 8:47Speaker 2: my chain. I'm promoting my guys. But the love my
- 8:50Speaker 2: my Siman culture gives and how we we love people,
- 8:53Speaker 2: it's powerful, man, and I always I keep that in
- 8:56Speaker 2: my heart. Show love. You know what I'm saying, be caring,
- 8:57Speaker 2: help people, and my fan amily is a different look.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I got it. I can't hinder them. I was hindering them.
- 9:02Speaker 4: How I help him.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But it's a coach of that that I'm connected to
- 9:05Speaker 2: and I love and that's part.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Of my brand too.
- 9:07Speaker 2: So I got a poly cross on my on my
- 9:10Speaker 2: on my thing, and it's just it's about keeping what's
- 9:13Speaker 2: connected real.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate you joining me always. It's always love, brother.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Thanks sure, I appreciate you man, since you having me, Bro.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Richard Sherman Podcast, and we have
- 9:23Speaker 1: an incredible guest today, one of the best corners in
- 9:25Speaker 1: the National Football League, Denzel Ward.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Appreciate you joining me.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Appreciate you man, Appreciate you having me.
- 9:31Speaker 1: How you feeling about this Super Bowl? This looks like
- 9:33Speaker 1: a great matchup. The Patriots have gone through some of
- 9:36Speaker 1: the best defenses in the league to get here, and
- 9:38Speaker 1: obviously the Seahawks have one of the best defenses in
- 9:41Speaker 1: the league. What do you think the issues are going
- 9:44Speaker 1: to be for both teams going in?
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, like you said, it's gonna be a
- 9:46Speaker 5: great match up. You know, I got a lot of
- 9:48Speaker 5: respect for coach Vrabel and his team and what he's
- 9:52Speaker 5: been able to do in in his first year being
- 9:54Speaker 5: in New England. But for me personally, if I had
- 9:56Speaker 5: a pick, I think I got Seattle. I'm not just
- 9:58Speaker 5: saying that, you know, as you on your show right now,
- 10:02Speaker 5: but no, I think I got Seattle taking it. I
- 10:04Speaker 5: know they got that Buckeye Jackson Jackson, and man, them
- 10:08Speaker 5: boys been bawling and doing their things, so I'll see
- 10:10Speaker 5: them taking it by y'all.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Y'all, Buckeyes.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Put the receivers in the league, now, don't y'all?
- 10:13Speaker 4: We do, Yeah, y'all have to put.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Some receivers in the league, y'all, and put some great
- 10:17Speaker 1: corners in the league. Talk about being a corner in
- 10:20Speaker 1: this league. You've been one of the top corners. We
- 10:22Speaker 1: talked about that for a long time. And do you
- 10:25Speaker 1: ever find yourself watching the other corners extingly?
- 10:28Speaker 4: Certain Gonzales.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You know, these guys because obviously when I was playing,
- 10:33Speaker 1: it was revis it was Pat p, it was myself,
- 10:36Speaker 1: Slay was, it was in the league playing well Gilly.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But you don't, you know, it's a friendly rivalry. It's
- 10:42Speaker 1: it's hey, I watch, I see what you're doing, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I go try to strap and put up some numbers
- 10:46Speaker 1: as well.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 5: No, it's definitely like that, like I'm friends with all
- 10:49Speaker 5: those guys. But during the season, like you said, it's
- 10:51Speaker 5: a competition. Like I'm looking like, okay, what they do
- 10:53Speaker 5: this week? You know, they got Jamar Chaz, they got whatever.
- 10:57Speaker 5: See what they was they stat line against them, how
- 10:59Speaker 5: many pbu's interceptions and what type of game did they have.
- 11:03Speaker 5: I'm like, I got Okay, I got to go out
- 11:04Speaker 5: and do my thing this next weekend and top that,
- 11:07Speaker 5: you know, just trying to say a step ahead and
- 11:09Speaker 5: just competing like from a distance.
- 11:11Speaker 3: You know. So I'm definitely keeping eyes.
- 11:13Speaker 5: On everybody and checking out their game, what they good at,
- 11:16Speaker 5: and try to apply to my game a little bit.
- 11:18Speaker 3: But yeah, this is a friendly competition.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's exactly how I felt. That's exactly bro.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It was to the point where before game sometimes I
- 11:25Speaker 1: had a stat shee like he got two today.
- 11:29Speaker 3: All right, I'm going out there hunting exactly.
- 11:32Speaker 4: But it's a friendly competition, you know.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We would trade notes sometimes, but also as a corner
- 11:38Speaker 1: trying to evolve your game. You learn so much about yourself.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You watch your tape. You know the things you do well,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know things you don't do well. That's that's being
- 11:45Speaker 1: an honest player. The only way you can elevate is
- 11:48Speaker 1: being able to see what you do well, improve your game,
- 11:51Speaker 1: work on your weaknesses. But sometimes you see something in
- 11:53Speaker 1: somebody else's game. I saw something in a key to
- 11:56Speaker 1: Leave's game. His off coverage he played with like a
- 11:59Speaker 1: real short step and he would just quick shuffle. His
- 12:02Speaker 1: off was just a quick shuffle. He getting pedal. He
- 12:04Speaker 1: just quick quick shuffle and then if it was quick game,
- 12:07Speaker 1: he's transitioning out and if it was if it was long,
- 12:09Speaker 1: he would have usually flipped his hips and get itself
- 12:11Speaker 1: into a transition. I was like, I think I could
- 12:14Speaker 1: play it like that, and it helped my off so much.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Because everybody running these condensed formations, do you ever find
- 12:19Speaker 1: yourself and even practice squad dude, sometimes if they had
- 12:22Speaker 1: something in they bag that I wanted.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Like exactly.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I need that.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's that's the biggest thing.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Like it don't just have to be from the top
- 12:30Speaker 5: guys that you're getting things that add to your game
- 12:33Speaker 5: from like even in practice, like seeing how gods run
- 12:36Speaker 5: routes or seeing what DB's doing practice and stuff like that,
- 12:39Speaker 5: you could take something from their game. So it's really
- 12:41Speaker 5: just staying open minded to everybody into the game, you know.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree. I agree.
- 12:46Speaker 1: That's the way you keep evolving and staying at the
- 12:49Speaker 1: top of your game. Talk about Top Monkey, you guys
- 12:52Speaker 1: just hard top Monkey. He was a coordinator for for
- 12:55Speaker 1: you know, your rivals for a while. Obviously, Jim Schwartz
- 12:59Speaker 1: is still under contract. But talk about the good things
- 13:01Speaker 1: that you've heard about him, and have you had a
- 13:03Speaker 1: chance to go meet him.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 5: I haven't got a chance to meet him yet. He
- 13:05Speaker 5: did text me yesterday. I wanted to reach out to him.
- 13:08Speaker 5: I had the Pro Bowl game though, so I got
- 13:10Speaker 5: to get back to him still. But I heard a
- 13:12Speaker 5: lot of great things about him, like picked up the
- 13:15Speaker 5: Baltimore's offense. I heard great things of raising Lamar Jackson's
- 13:19Speaker 5: game and Derrick Henry and just having a dynamic offense.
- 13:22Speaker 5: So I'm hoping he could bring that to Cleveland. You know,
- 13:25Speaker 5: we need need an amazing offense, and you know, I'm
- 13:29Speaker 5: hoping they saying he'd have got to do it, so
- 13:31Speaker 5: we go find out.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Obviously, you're hoping to bring Jim Schwartz back. He's been
- 13:35Speaker 1: such a fantastic coordinator. You guys have been a top five,
- 13:37Speaker 1: top three defense for majority of your career. Talk about
- 13:40Speaker 1: his scheme and what he's meant to you.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Man, I can't say enough great things about coach Schwartz.
- 13:45Speaker 5: I feel he's elevating my game. Like I talked about
- 13:47Speaker 5: with Monkin and to Lamar, I feel like that schwarts
- 13:50Speaker 5: to me and a lot of guys on the defense
- 13:52Speaker 5: and on the team. Schwartz, like I said, elevating my game.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Just his scheme is great. I feel he always calling
- 13:58Speaker 5: a perfect call, putting us in the right position to
- 14:00Speaker 5: make a place. So I'm hoping we could keep him
- 14:03Speaker 5: on the team. And you know he don't go nowhere else.
- 14:05Speaker 5: You got a great young middle linebacker. How have you
- 14:08Speaker 5: seen him evolved throughout this season?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Man?
- 14:11Speaker 5: I think Swetzinger he came in as a veteran, like
- 14:14Speaker 5: a veteran as a rookie, so it's been exciting to
- 14:17Speaker 5: see him grow. Just a great player, should win defensive player,
- 14:22Speaker 5: rookie Defensive Player of the Year, I believe, along with
- 14:24Speaker 5: Miles winning, Garrett win a defensive Player of the Year.
- 14:26Speaker 3: But just a great player. Man.
- 14:28Speaker 5: We gonna need him, a good young core talent that
- 14:30Speaker 5: we got. Were gonna need him for the long run.
- 14:33Speaker 1: It ain't many times you get a defensive Player of
- 14:35Speaker 1: the Year candidate and a rookie defensive I mean defensive
- 14:38Speaker 1: rookie of the year Canaday on the same defense and
- 14:40Speaker 1: y'all not winning at least, you know, but on that roll.
- 14:45Speaker 4: But y'all you lost your running mate too.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And people don't understand the relationship that corners have, especially
- 14:51Speaker 1: the corner that place opposite of a great corner like yourself.
- 14:53Speaker 1: They get a lot of attention, You get a lot
- 14:55Speaker 1: more attention than normal. You lose Newsome, but you get
- 14:58Speaker 1: Tyson Campbell. How was that for you during the season?
- 15:01Speaker 5: Honestly, it was it was tough at first, Like Greg
- 15:04Speaker 5: news like, that's my brother, Like you know, we got
- 15:07Speaker 5: real close over the time that he came into the league,
- 15:09Speaker 5: and uh like he getting married just all sine and
- 15:12Speaker 5: go go to his wedding and everything, and they trade
- 15:13Speaker 5: on So it hurt me, but you know, that's the
- 15:15Speaker 5: NFL and that's what happened. But Tyson, he had great
- 15:18Speaker 5: fit for the team, came in, locked in, played man
- 15:21Speaker 5: and man and and.
- 15:22Speaker 3: He's just a great dude to be around.
- 15:24Speaker 5: So I think it was still it was a good trade,
- 15:26Speaker 5: you know that. You know, Greg doing well for Jacksonville
- 15:29Speaker 5: and Tyson doing well, and me and Tyson were coming
- 15:32Speaker 5: closer and closer. But I think he a great fit
- 15:34Speaker 5: for the team.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Though, I agree. I agree with that.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So what's Cleveland sometimes gets a bad rap, and I
- 15:39Speaker 1: want to give you a chance today to tell people
- 15:42Speaker 1: something they don't know about Cleveland, some positive So you know,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you gotta give Eveland some love. We're gonna give Cleveland.
- 15:47Speaker 3: A love, right you know, Hey, Lebron from Cleveland. So
- 15:50Speaker 3: that's all. That's all you gotta say.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Lebron from Cleveland, So that's all you need to know.
- 15:55Speaker 5: But uh, the Browns man, we about to be about to.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Bring it, pick it back up, pick it back up.
- 15:59Speaker 3: This heason to.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Hopefully make the playoffs, and uh yeah, we're trying to
- 16:02Speaker 5: win some games and bring some winning back to the city.
- 16:05Speaker 1: God, I believe that. I believe that Shador Sanders my
- 16:07Speaker 1: name to the Pro Bowl this year. That was that
- 16:09Speaker 1: was a little different, they said, they said, y'all had
- 16:11Speaker 1: two quarter Pro Bowl quarterbacks in flak on Shador so uh,
- 16:15Speaker 1: but talk about him and with the growth that you've
- 16:18Speaker 1: seen from him. Obviously as a corner, you see if
- 16:20Speaker 1: up close and personal, we understand these quarterbacks. We understand
- 16:23Speaker 1: what they're seeing and the way they they kind of
- 16:25Speaker 1: try to diagnose and dissect these defenses.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Did you see the growth that you expected from him
- 16:30Speaker 4: this season?
- 16:30Speaker 5: Yeah, it's been well. I mean, like I said, he
- 16:32Speaker 5: is just a rookie. He got all the confidence in
- 16:35Speaker 5: the world. I think you need a quarterback position, and
- 16:38Speaker 5: I think he's going to continue to develop and grow
- 16:40Speaker 5: to a great player.
- 16:41Speaker 3: And he did well. He did well.
- 16:43Speaker 5: He made some mistakes, but I mean that's expected for
- 16:45Speaker 5: a rookie.
- 16:46Speaker 3: But just his.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Growth and his willingness to want to learn and get better,
- 16:51Speaker 5: I think it is gonna go a long way for him.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Did you ever find yourself having conversations with him? You know,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I think they're they're usually corners. Quarterbacks and corners sometimes
- 16:59Speaker 1: quarterback and receivers, receivers in corners have those conversations what
- 17:03Speaker 1: did you see here? Especially great players like yourself, You
- 17:06Speaker 1: did you find yourself going up to him and like, hey,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I saw you do this, I saw you giving away
- 17:10Speaker 1: this tale or you trying to let him learn now
- 17:12Speaker 1: the whole.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm really letting him learn the hard way.
- 17:14Speaker 1: You know.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I definitely stay in his ear, though, but the mostly
- 17:17Speaker 5: conversations just trash talk, like you know, I'm about to
- 17:19Speaker 5: pick you off all day and practice today, and you.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Know it's mostly just a trash talk.
- 17:23Speaker 5: But I definitely try to stay in his ear, and
- 17:25Speaker 5: you know, I'm always here for whenever he needs some
- 17:28Speaker 5: advice him about something or if I got a question,
- 17:30Speaker 5: you know, I go ask him and see what he saw.
- 17:33Speaker 1: You've been in the league long enough to ask you
- 17:35Speaker 1: this question. How much different is the league than you
- 17:38Speaker 1: thought it was gonna be when you were a kid
- 17:40Speaker 1: growing up and watching it versus you playing in it
- 17:42Speaker 1: and getting to be an elite player in it.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a great question. I think when I growing
- 17:50Speaker 5: up watching it, I thought like, oh, man, like the
- 17:52Speaker 5: NFL is just like, I don't know, like a juggernaut,
- 17:57Speaker 5: like guys is just unbeatable, and you know, you just
- 18:00Speaker 5: the guys are the top of the top. But once
- 18:02Speaker 5: I actually got to the NFL, and like, I'm like, okay,
- 18:05Speaker 5: I could play with these guys, Like guys are beatable.
- 18:07Speaker 5: You know, it's gonna be good players. Like you said,
- 18:09Speaker 5: it's gonna be great players, but guys could be being
- 18:12Speaker 5: on any given day.
- 18:13Speaker 4: It still is juggernaut. You just happen to be.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You sit there and you look at it, like, oh man,
- 18:20Speaker 1: these guys can be played with. But it's because you're
- 18:22Speaker 1: one of the top athletes in the world. But that
- 18:26Speaker 1: was the thing when I came in, it was so
- 18:28Speaker 1: much different than I expected. It was. Once you get
- 18:31Speaker 1: here and you have the confidence to understand you belong
- 18:34Speaker 1: here and you can be dominant, you can play at
- 18:36Speaker 1: a high level.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Then it changed the game for that.
- 18:39Speaker 1: You know how I approach it is, I'm approaching human beings,
- 18:42Speaker 1: I'm approaching schemes. I'm studying the scheme, seeing, hey, this
- 18:45Speaker 1: offense coordinated likes to do it. Diss in this situation.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I have yet to see a receiver that calls his
- 18:49Speaker 1: own play. So from that perspective, I'm like, hey, you
- 18:52Speaker 1: might run fox two four three, you may jump out
- 18:55Speaker 1: of the gym and all that, but if he say
- 18:57Speaker 1: you running.
- 18:58Speaker 3: A curl, you better run the curl. You know that's
- 19:01Speaker 3: where the ball go be.
- 19:02Speaker 4: That's what a ball gonna be.
- 19:03Speaker 1: We in San Francisco a couple of times we would
- 19:05Speaker 1: play and we be in practice and a receiver would
- 19:08Speaker 1: just just run the wrong route because I've run the
- 19:10Speaker 1: route for him, Nigue, I'm already running there. If it's cral,
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm already breaking. And they make up routes and Kyle
- 19:15Speaker 1: used to go off. That's the most fun I have
- 19:18Speaker 1: watching him, Like, you can't just make stuff up because
- 19:22Speaker 1: I don't play exactly.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You can't change the rout up.
- 19:24Speaker 1: No, you can't. And once I knew that, it changed
- 19:27Speaker 1: the way I played this game, and I think that's
- 19:28Speaker 1: what helped me play at a different level. What do
- 19:30Speaker 1: you think gives you the advantage that you have to
- 19:32Speaker 1: play at the level you have for so long.
- 19:34Speaker 5: I think one consistency, just staying consistent and my workouts,
- 19:39Speaker 5: my routine, Like I found a great routine coming into
- 19:41Speaker 5: the NFL, and just really just being able to stick.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I know what works for me.
- 19:45Speaker 5: But it don't work for me, and just sticking to that,
- 19:47Speaker 5: you know, not getting complacent and any anything that goes on,
- 19:51Speaker 5: and just continue to stick to it. And yeah, I
- 19:54Speaker 5: would say that's the biggest thing for me.
- 19:56Speaker 1: What what what have you changed about your off season
- 19:58Speaker 1: routine as you've gotten older and I don't mean older
- 20:01Speaker 1: like that, but just as you've matured in this leng
- 20:03Speaker 1: and really have an understanding of what you need and
- 20:05Speaker 1: what you don't need. Is it spending more time with family,
- 20:08Speaker 1: is it working out more, is it the training facility,
- 20:10Speaker 1: is it the diet?
- 20:11Speaker 3: What is it? Yeah, that's a good question.
- 20:13Speaker 5: I think like initially, what I learned like going into
- 20:16Speaker 5: like soon as the seasons over with, is really taking
- 20:18Speaker 5: that break, like you know, I don't need to be
- 20:21Speaker 5: football every single day, you know, so really just kind
- 20:24Speaker 5: of taking a break and clearing my mind and then
- 20:27Speaker 5: once I do get back to it, still staying in
- 20:29Speaker 5: shape like working out and getting those lifts in and
- 20:31Speaker 5: stuff like that. But just finding that routine I think
- 20:35Speaker 5: is the biggest thing for me. I got a routine
- 20:36Speaker 5: that I feel worse, and like I said, diet, whether
- 20:38Speaker 5: it's the diet, workouts, and then just sticking to that
- 20:41Speaker 5: year in and year out. You know, I don't really
- 20:43Speaker 5: change too much in it, and I feel it helps
- 20:45Speaker 5: me out every year.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, creatures are habit. We have that, creatures a habit.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think that was the biggest thing for me, because
- 20:51Speaker 1: when you're young and you want to you want so
- 20:53Speaker 1: of the seasons over. You're like, man, I want to
- 20:55Speaker 1: get back to working out and I want to get
- 20:57Speaker 1: back to lifting and get back on the field. And
- 20:59Speaker 1: then you get to this and your body hurt, me
- 21:01Speaker 1: sore and you having hamstring and calf issues in training camp,
- 21:05Speaker 1: and you're like, you didn't get your body a big
- 21:07Speaker 1: enough break. You know after the season that he'll love
- 21:09Speaker 1: to recover and to do with all the things you necessary.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So it's it's great that you found that routine. What's
- 21:14Speaker 1: what's your goals in the future, outside of obviously the
- 21:17Speaker 1: team goals, super Bowl and playoffs, what are your personal goals?
- 21:20Speaker 5: Personal goals, I would say defensive player of the Year,
- 21:25Speaker 5: definitely keep stacking on the Pro Bowls, Super Bowl, and
- 21:30Speaker 5: just really like my main goal.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Every year is just to be that guy at.
- 21:34Speaker 5: The corner position, Like they need me to go out
- 21:36Speaker 5: there and be a dominated number one corner, take away
- 21:38Speaker 5: my side of the field, and that's what that's my
- 21:41Speaker 5: goal to go out there, don't give them no catches,
- 21:42Speaker 5: make plays, and just be that guy for the team.
- 21:45Speaker 3: You know, somebody that could be counted on you, dang
- 21:48Speaker 3: sure counted on right.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Now and and and when you're that guy, your pockets
- 21:52Speaker 1: get counted on. So I'm happy to see you getting
- 21:54Speaker 1: what you deserve and continue to play at a high level.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Let me know if you got any questions for me.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I don't want to hold up your whole day.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah, no, for sure.
- 22:01Speaker 5: No, I definitely got a question here with a great
- 22:04Speaker 5: Hall of Fame player, great talent. So I'll say, what
- 22:08Speaker 5: separated you or what allowed you to play in such
- 22:11Speaker 5: an elite level throughout your years in the NFL.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I think it was the mental side of it.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I think understanding the coordinators, understanding situational football. When I trained,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I tried to make sure I kept it mental even
- 22:22Speaker 1: when I'm training, even when I'm fatigued, and even when
- 22:24Speaker 1: I'm working my body and my body's breaking down and
- 22:26Speaker 1: we're running gasers, I'm let my brain function because a
- 22:30Speaker 1: lot of times you're in those situations in the game
- 22:32Speaker 1: that's when it's passed w It's not when you're comfortable
- 22:34Speaker 1: and you're feeling good and you're doing all this. It's
- 22:37Speaker 1: when you dead tired, your shoulder kind of hurt because
- 22:39Speaker 1: you just made a tack with you a little bit dazed,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and you're like, it's third and five. Can I remember
- 22:43Speaker 1: the concept that I run on thirty five? I remember
- 22:45Speaker 1: the concept they run it on third and eight out
- 22:47Speaker 1: of a bunch, Like, Hey, when the receiver going motion
- 22:50Speaker 1: and come back? Is it that double follow? Is it
- 22:52Speaker 1: that drive? Does it drive basic? Is it spot seven?
- 22:55Speaker 1: What is the route concept? And I would challenge myself
- 22:58Speaker 1: when I'm super fatigued to be able to diagnose and
- 23:01Speaker 1: really digest that information. And it helped in a lot
- 23:04Speaker 1: of those games, because when you get those big games,
- 23:06Speaker 1: it's a two minute drive. You're seeing Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers,
- 23:09Speaker 1: You're seeing these dudes, and you gotta process it. It
- 23:11Speaker 1: can't and that's the most uncomfortable time. And I think
- 23:14Speaker 1: that's the hardest thing for guys, even when they're great
- 23:16Speaker 1: in the classroom and even when they can go and
- 23:18Speaker 1: walk through and diagnose it and you figured it out
- 23:20Speaker 1: in practice, can you do it in that game when
- 23:23Speaker 1: the lights is brightish, she's tired, you're hurting, and be
- 23:27Speaker 1: out there and go up and make the play. It's
- 23:29Speaker 1: something to be able to see it and hey, I
- 23:31Speaker 1: know it's curl, I know it's dig and do this,
- 23:32Speaker 1: but can you break? And then when the ball come
- 23:34Speaker 1: and can I get the booking?
- 23:35Speaker 5: So that's why I want to ask you too, So
- 23:37Speaker 5: what makes you comfortable in those high tense situations? So
- 23:41Speaker 5: you're going against Tom Brady like two minutes on the clock,
- 23:44Speaker 5: you know, tod game, Like, what makes you comfortable in
- 23:47Speaker 5: those high pressure situations?
- 23:49Speaker 1: It was something that Pete Carroll really preached to us
- 23:52Speaker 1: throughout our time. Everything is a championship game every like
- 23:55Speaker 1: if you came to our practices, it'll make a lot
- 23:56Speaker 1: more sense because our practices were like games, like we
- 23:59Speaker 1: out there.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Like trying to kill each other.
- 24:00Speaker 1: In fact, we out there full speed yet attacking like
- 24:03Speaker 1: so when you get in the game, it's easier than
- 24:05Speaker 1: practice because they're not matching the intensity a lot of
- 24:08Speaker 1: times every now and then they are, but for the
- 24:10Speaker 1: most part, like we never turn off, So that's what
- 24:14Speaker 1: makes it tough, and offseason, when it's time to turn
- 24:15Speaker 1: turn it down. They'd be like, you know, our thing
- 24:18Speaker 1: was turned down for what Like we were running and
- 24:21Speaker 1: hitting everything moving. So just just making sure that we
- 24:24Speaker 1: took everything that serious. And and the guys around I
- 24:28Speaker 1: would say, held that standard. Like you got Bobby Wagner,
- 24:30Speaker 1: you got Earl Thomas, you got Cam Chancer, you got
- 24:33Speaker 1: Mike Bennett.
- 24:33Speaker 4: You got real we had some boys. So the standard
- 24:37Speaker 4: is the standard all the time.
- 24:38Speaker 1: And when you when you have that, you consistently are
- 24:41Speaker 1: getting pushed every day like we if y'all don't if
- 24:44Speaker 1: y'all want the offense to move the ball, don't put
- 24:46Speaker 1: them out here with us. Like if y'all it's the
- 24:48Speaker 1: off season you want you want us to not go
- 24:50Speaker 1: after the ball, you want us to not, then don't
- 24:51Speaker 1: put them out here, and don't put us out here.
- 24:54Speaker 4: Sure they're gonna find you. They're gonna take your draft picks.
- 24:56Speaker 1: If you put that ball up, we're going for It's
- 24:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean, just kind of guys.
- 25:00Speaker 5: We work real, that's real. I appreciate that, man.
- 25:04Speaker 4: It was great having you.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Man. I appreciate you. I appreciate you taking the time
- 25:07Speaker 1: to be on here with me. I got a lot
- 25:09Speaker 1: of respect for your game, and I want to keep
- 25:11Speaker 1: in contact.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Likewise, man, I appreciate.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Richard Sherman Podcast. And today we
- 25:18Speaker 1: got an incredible guest receiver for the Green Bay Packers,
- 25:22Speaker 1: Romeo Dobbs. Appreciate you joining me, brother, I appreciate you.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So you've been with the Packers your whole career. Talk
- 25:31Speaker 1: me through your journey with them. It's been an incredible deal.
- 25:35Speaker 1: You know, it looks like you've had a tremendous amount
- 25:37Speaker 1: of success, gotten better every year, been really dominant on
- 25:39Speaker 1: the field.
- 25:40Speaker 4: But tell me how you see things going.
- 25:43Speaker 6: I thought my growth internally was the biggest thing for me.
- 25:47Speaker 6: I know, because I know football, that's another world. I
- 25:49Speaker 6: know that's the main thing. But I just want to say, yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 6: those four years outside of football, I thought just my
- 25:55Speaker 6: growth as a human also aligned with just some of
- 26:00Speaker 6: my football player you know what I mean? And yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 6: I mean I love the organization. I love how they
- 26:05Speaker 6: how they're structured. I love the process on how they
- 26:08Speaker 6: go about things, and ultimately, if you just go down
- 26:12Speaker 6: the line of who's been there, like, it shows that
- 26:17Speaker 6: they give opportunities for the players not only to grow
- 26:21Speaker 6: in the football world, but just as a person as well. Man,
- 26:25Speaker 6: And you know, I appreciate Green Bay dearly, and yeah, bro,
- 26:30Speaker 6: I mean I love the organization.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Man, You've you've played fantastic and you never know how
- 26:36Speaker 1: other places are because you know, your experience is only
- 26:39Speaker 1: the team you played for and you got drafted to
- 26:41Speaker 1: Green Bay.
- 26:41Speaker 4: How different? What's that?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Because from the outside looking at it, I've only played
- 26:45Speaker 1: there a few times, we've gone there with Thursday night football,
- 26:48Speaker 1: but it looks like such a close knit community, it's
- 26:50Speaker 1: such a great fan base obviously, such a historic team.
- 26:53Speaker 4: But what you've been your experience as a player, I thought, just.
- 27:00Speaker 3: That's a great question, man.
- 27:01Speaker 6: I think it just I feel like everything was so
- 27:05Speaker 6: on time, just how everything.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Played out throughout my years.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Like it wasn't like I was a guy that came
- 27:11Speaker 6: in and had a blazing season, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:13Speaker 6: Like every year it was it was something you know
- 27:16Speaker 6: what I'm saying, playing ball and you know, again, just
- 27:21Speaker 6: and in a situation alone like it, especially this year specifically,
- 27:25Speaker 6: it gave me an opportunity to actually I wouldn't say
- 27:29Speaker 6: I will being a leader, you know, because again our
- 27:33Speaker 6: team was so young where there was no guy that
- 27:37Speaker 6: was in year seven, year eight, that can literally show
- 27:39Speaker 6: us the ropes where in this case we were growing
- 27:43Speaker 6: as a unit. And I emphasized that. I want to say,
- 27:47Speaker 6: going into my second year being under Matt Lafleur, you
- 27:50Speaker 6: know what I mean, y'all.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Matt Lafleur and I guess your entire team, your entire
- 27:56Speaker 1: at least offensively, have preached this. You know, everybody he
- 28:00Speaker 1: eats kind of what Buffalo says. But you guys have
- 28:02Speaker 1: said the same thing. Like, you guys have a really
- 28:04Speaker 1: great receiver receiving group. You know, Christian Watson, you, Matthew Golden, Read,
- 28:10Speaker 1: so many guys that you know, at any given time
- 28:12Speaker 1: can just go off and take the game over. But
- 28:16Speaker 1: but in some capacities, I know, you know, just being honest,
- 28:18Speaker 1: And then I've said this a few times, but I
- 28:21Speaker 1: know how receivers are and mentally everybody feels the other guy,
- 28:24Speaker 1: and when when the ball spreads around like that, there
- 28:26Speaker 1: could be a little bit of frustration and divisiveness.
- 28:29Speaker 4: But your group hasn't.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like, at least from outside looking in,
- 28:32Speaker 1: you guys haven't dealt with that. You guys have been
- 28:34Speaker 1: really unselfish really supportive of one another and talked me
- 28:37Speaker 1: through that.
- 28:38Speaker 4: How how that receiver room is so tight?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Uh, like you said, man, just supporting one another, bro.
- 28:43Speaker 6: And again like when again you get in the game
- 28:48Speaker 6: and you know, Jayden takeover.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I'm taking pride of my blocking.
- 28:53Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying, Like, that's just what it
- 28:55Speaker 6: That's just what it was, you know what I mean.
- 28:57Speaker 6: And ultimately, I mean just being around them, it was amazing.
- 29:03Speaker 6: And like I said before, the biggest reason for it,
- 29:07Speaker 6: it was just our growth, bro, And I apprecate all your.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Long man, But when it comes down to this time,
- 29:15Speaker 1: when you finally become a free agent, it leads to
- 29:18Speaker 1: that question, can you be a true number one receiver
- 29:22Speaker 1: in the National Football League? And I think teams are
- 29:24Speaker 1: gonna want that question answered. Obviously your play answers it,
- 29:27Speaker 1: but the opportunities are limited for them to see that.
- 29:30Speaker 6: What do you have to say to those teams? I mean,
- 29:35Speaker 6: I believe I could be a number one guy. That's
- 29:37Speaker 6: a no brainer.
- 29:38Speaker 3: But it's just I mean, yeah, I don't really got nothing.
- 29:45Speaker 4: But it's on the field. You have been fantastic.
- 29:47Speaker 1: You're an incredible deep ball runner, You're incredible route runner.
- 29:51Speaker 1: When the balls in the air, you're You're a great guy.
- 29:54Speaker 1: You win a lot of those matchups. Talk about what
- 29:57Speaker 1: you could do with the amount of opportunities some of
- 29:59Speaker 1: these receives get, because some of these receivers are.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Geting one hundred and fifty targets. Again, I mean a year.
- 30:04Speaker 1: It's like, you give me one hundred and fifty targets,
- 30:06Speaker 1: I'm going crazy.
- 30:07Speaker 6: Yes, yes, that's any that's any receiver. You know what
- 30:10Speaker 6: I'm saying. And I thought, again, just being under this system,
- 30:14Speaker 6: I did a fantastic job just making the most of
- 30:16Speaker 6: my opportunity of what.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I was given being there.
- 30:19Speaker 6: Because again, man, everybody in that room can go ahead
- 30:22Speaker 6: any moment, bro, So no question.
- 30:24Speaker 1: So what what would you want for the future? Obviously
- 30:27Speaker 1: you've been with Green Bay your entire career. Would you
- 30:30Speaker 1: want to stay there? Have those conversations happen? Have you
- 30:33Speaker 1: started to walk down the avenue or are you just
- 30:36Speaker 1: letting your agent handle everything?
- 30:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna let my agent handle everything because again,
- 30:40Speaker 6: you know, I'm new to this. I do have Again,
- 30:43Speaker 6: I have some experience under my belt, but I don't
- 30:45Speaker 6: want to do too much. I'm gonna let him do
- 30:48Speaker 6: his job. He's amazing at what he does. And yeah, man,
- 30:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna just leave everything unknown because it's a lot
- 30:54Speaker 6: there right now.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Well, let's talk through this season, because you guys came in.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I thought you guys were amongst the super both favorites
- 31:01Speaker 1: coming into the year. You got you got Jordan Love
- 31:04Speaker 1: and he's been incredible. He's been talking about him as
- 31:06Speaker 1: a teammate and how he's helped elevate your game and
- 31:08Speaker 1: the guys around him in the growth that you've seen.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I love this bro.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, because I mean I've been around Jordan. I
- 31:19Speaker 6: mean I was around him obviously when Aaron was there,
- 31:22Speaker 6: my rookie before he took off or whatnot. But I
- 31:25Speaker 6: just thought his growth just as a player and the
- 31:27Speaker 6: system as a human, I just think it's amazing to
- 31:29Speaker 6: see because not only is he the same person, but
- 31:32Speaker 6: just some of the traits that he's been able to
- 31:34Speaker 6: add on amongst himself. I just thought it was really
- 31:37Speaker 6: I thought it was really great to.
- 31:38Speaker 3: See, man.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I thought I thought in that playoff game against Chicago
- 31:41Speaker 1: that might have been his best game of the season.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I thought he executed the offense really well. What do
- 31:46Speaker 1: you feel like went wrong in that game. I felt
- 31:48Speaker 1: like you guys were in complete control. We had the game,
- 31:51Speaker 1: so you guys were in the ball well with Josh
- 31:53Speaker 1: Jacobs early on, you guys freaking were controlling that. It
- 31:55Speaker 1: looks like he was unstoppable in that game. You guys
- 31:59Speaker 1: passed the ball efficiently, and then things in the second
- 32:01Speaker 1: half just kind of fell apart.
- 32:02Speaker 4: What did you see?
- 32:06Speaker 6: I don't you know, and I still question it, But
- 32:09Speaker 6: ultimately there's a winner, there's a loser. Clearly the winner
- 32:13Speaker 6: had the better game plan. And again I'm just being
- 32:16Speaker 6: on the bright side of things. Obviously, losing in the
- 32:19Speaker 6: league is not it, and yeah, it just gives me
- 32:23Speaker 6: something to learn from, the grow from, and obviously just
- 32:26Speaker 6: be better moving forward.
- 32:27Speaker 1: You talk about you're talking to somebody who know heartbreak
- 32:30Speaker 1: from loss. Now you're talking to somebody who knows whose
- 32:33Speaker 1: heart's been broken.
- 32:34Speaker 4: So believe you be.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I know how much it hurts losing those playoffs, But
- 32:39Speaker 1: you guys just played such a had such a great
- 32:41Speaker 1: offensive season, You played such a great game that way,
- 32:44Speaker 1: and I just I really admire how you guys support
- 32:46Speaker 1: one another, because in the league that can be incredibly
- 32:50Speaker 1: individual and selfish. You guys show an unselfishness in that room.
- 32:54Speaker 1: That's that's uncommon. Yes, yeah, man, So talk to me
- 32:58Speaker 1: about Lafleur. How great of a coach he is?
- 33:01Speaker 6: Oh, man, I love I love the floor man, you
- 33:04Speaker 6: know now that man, Yeah, I'm gonna take my time
- 33:11Speaker 6: with this one. Brouh great offensive mind and he's a
- 33:18Speaker 6: huge part of you know, I am where I am
- 33:21Speaker 6: now just in terms of just my football knowledge and
- 33:25Speaker 6: just understanding the game, understanding the situations.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I give I give him a ton of credit for that. Bro.
- 33:31Speaker 6: I just think, you know, he's very upfront, just honest,
- 33:37Speaker 6: and very understanding, you know what I mean. So yeah,
- 33:43Speaker 6: I mean the system that he runs. A lot of
- 33:46Speaker 6: teams run, you know, in some version of that system.
- 33:48Speaker 6: So it's easy to see how you could fit in
- 33:51Speaker 6: other places because so many of these teams have have
- 33:55Speaker 6: really tried to pattern their offensive scheme behind him, and
- 33:58Speaker 6: they sha and you know, which is a really cool
- 34:01Speaker 6: scheme which gives you a lot of opportunities in my mind,
- 34:04Speaker 6: But you know, we're not to go.
- 34:07Speaker 4: There.
- 34:08Speaker 6: But I appreciate you. You got anything for me? I appreciate you, man,
- 34:15Speaker 6: you know, glad to meet you in person. That's you
- 34:17Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. Amazing ball player. Thank you, no
- 34:24Speaker 6: problem at all.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Well, I appreciate you joining my brother, an honor to
- 34:27Speaker 1: have your own good luck down the line, and I
- 34:30Speaker 1: hope you get all the money you deserve.
