- 0:07Speaker 1: of like just popping off. So that's when YouTube became
- 0:10Speaker 1: super big. That video kind of blew up and caught
- 0:12Speaker 1: the eyes of Lifetime, which is then when they offered
- 0:14Speaker 1: me to be on my first reality show.
- 0:16Speaker 2: But this is on to the game.

- 0:25Speaker 3: all us and the time less on a time along

- 1:07Speaker 4: the privilege, and the process of becoming who you are
- 1:10Speaker 4: beyond the spotlight. Today's guests grew up performing at an
- 1:14Speaker 4: elite level before most kids knew who they were. She's
- 1:17Speaker 4: a dancer, an actress, a singer who rose to fame
- 1:22Speaker 4: at a very young age through popular shows like Dance Moms.
- 1:26Speaker 4: And she's also the daughter of a bodybuilding legend, Sean Ray.
- 1:30Speaker 5: But today's conversation isn't about childhood fame alone. It's about

- 1:39Speaker 4: Hey girl, she just came in here.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Look fabulous, fabulous, so excited to be Thank you for
- 1:47Speaker 2: having me.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Oh no, again, I saw you. We saw each other
- 1:51Speaker 4: in Vegas. We did see each other in Vegas.
- 1:53Speaker 1: This last time I see each other prior for like
- 1:55Speaker 1: what four years?
- 1:56Speaker 4: Probably longer than that.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Maybe last time probably was like eleven to twelve, Yes,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I think minute When I met.
- 2:02Speaker 4: You, you were eleven yeah wow, and you're what I'll
- 2:06Speaker 4: be twenty one this year?
- 2:07Speaker 2: Oh big any Lance.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Oh girl, I can barely tell you what I'm doing tomorrow.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You're like another international trip my eighteen birthday, So maybe
- 2:22Speaker 1: we like do that but bigger yeah, Yeahody like to go.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Well.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Late Como was where I went for my eighteen birthday,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and I could retire there. It was the most beautiful
- 2:31Speaker 1: place I've ever been. I literally was there for two
- 2:33Speaker 1: weeks and didn't want to leave. Oh, could do something
- 2:35Speaker 1: like that because my mom and I birthday is a
- 2:37Speaker 1: week apart my birthday, so there for like fourteen days
- 2:42Speaker 1: fifteen maybe, So we kind of want to do something
- 2:44Speaker 1: like that because she definitely wants.
- 2:46Speaker 4: But you know what, if you open up your suitcase
- 2:48Speaker 4: and find me and we.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Pop out, you.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Know, we might we might.
- 2:56Speaker 1: One. It has to be big, it has to be it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Has to be big.
- 2:59Speaker 1: But I just don't do part I just do big trips.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I do like big wit I love them. Like finally,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I normally celebrate like really random years of my life,
- 3:05Speaker 1: like ye orated a really big twelfth birthday, yeah, and
- 3:08Speaker 1: like tenth birthday, like the random birthdays. So this one
- 3:11Speaker 1: actually has to be like twenty one. Yeah, you don't
- 3:14Speaker 1: really get another big birthday for a minute.
- 3:16Speaker 2: No, it's like thirty.
- 3:17Speaker 4: It's like thirty, then forty then like yeah, after twenty one,
- 3:21Speaker 4: you got a while.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah was a good one. Was a good one.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yes, I'm excited.
- 3:26Speaker 4: We're excited. So we want to just get to know
- 3:30Speaker 4: you outside of who how I was introduced to you
- 3:34Speaker 4: as I when I first saw you, you were on
- 3:36Speaker 4: a TV show. Indeed, so we'll get into your time
- 3:39Speaker 4: with dance moms. But growing up in this world of
- 3:43Speaker 4: body builders and body buildings, not body buildings, in the
- 3:51Speaker 4: world of body builders, how was that? So your dad
- 3:55Speaker 4: is known for discipline and consistency. Do you think that
- 3:59Speaker 4: mindset how you approached competition dance, did that help kind
- 4:04Speaker 4: of just groom you into who you became? Oh?
- 4:09Speaker 1: One thousand percent, Okay, absolutely. I mean, if I could
- 4:11Speaker 1: even describe my childhood, I was probably the worst first
- 4:14Speaker 1: child for any parent ever. I stopped sleeping at like
- 4:17Speaker 1: four or five months old. I started walking and talking
- 4:19Speaker 1: shortly after. Like my genetics, there was no choice for
- 4:22Speaker 1: me to be in something. They just didn't know what
- 4:24Speaker 1: it was going to be. So for my mom, she's
- 4:26Speaker 1: like just put her in anything, like everything, anything, dance, gymnastics, ice, skating,
- 4:30Speaker 1: literally everything. But I was really quick to learn in
- 4:33Speaker 1: those different fields of like athletics, because I think of
- 4:37Speaker 1: my genetics and my parents. I was never coddled. I
- 4:39Speaker 1: was never if I cried, it's like okay, like wrap
- 4:41Speaker 1: it up, let's start again. I was never a crier.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I never did none of that. My sister and I
- 4:45Speaker 1: are very very different because when she got into sports
- 4:48Speaker 1: such as gymnastics, and other things. It was a lot
- 4:50Speaker 1: more like it. She needed time, like to figure out
- 4:53Speaker 1: like what she wanted to do. She needed a little
- 4:54Speaker 1: more patience with me. Patients didn't exist, and I think
- 4:57Speaker 1: that is because both of my parents. So when I
- 4:59Speaker 1: was my extracurricular activities would be going to the gym
- 5:02Speaker 1: with my father wow between snack breaks would be going
- 5:06Speaker 1: to dance competition like practice and stuff like that. So
- 5:09Speaker 1: I never really had a normal childhood. I didn't know.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Still to this day, I have never been on a
- 5:13Speaker 1: school bus. I never went to high school. I was homeschooled.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Like things that are normal to people were never normal
- 5:18Speaker 1: to me. So in the world of discipline, bodybuilding, those
- 5:21Speaker 1: things are not normal, like it's quite abnormal. So I
- 5:25Speaker 1: was already taught discipline and those types of things very
- 5:28Speaker 1: very young. Both of my parents and luckily they were
- 5:30Speaker 1: so incredibly supportive. If I said I wanted to be
- 5:33Speaker 1: a horseback rider, they would be like absolutely a questioning
- 5:35Speaker 1: it is. But said I wanted to do trapezes, They'd
- 5:37Speaker 1: be like, we'll find the nearest circus maybe something. So
- 5:41Speaker 1: when I came to really wanting to pursue dance, it
- 5:45Speaker 1: was after like long conversations because I loved all of
- 5:48Speaker 1: the sports I did equally. I loved gymnastics so much,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I loved ice skating so much, I loved dance. I
- 5:53Speaker 1: even tried to convince them I didn't need school anymore,
- 5:55Speaker 1: just to keep the three of them. But competitions like
- 5:58Speaker 1: ran over each other, clearly because I didn't need education
- 6:01Speaker 1: at two years old, like, I want to do everything.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But ultimately, even though my genetics were made for potentially
- 6:08Speaker 1: more so gymnastics and ice skating, dance just was like
- 6:11Speaker 1: I was so drawn to it, and I was able
- 6:12Speaker 1: to bring those other talents that I had into dance,
- 6:14Speaker 1: which kind of made me who I was for sure.
- 6:17Speaker 4: So you started Dance Moms at six, So in my mind,
- 6:20Speaker 4: I'm like, when did you know that you were a
- 6:22Speaker 4: phenomenal dancer at Like, so the.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Show prior to Dance Moms actually was au DC and
- 6:28Speaker 1: that's when I was six. On on Dance Moms, I
- 6:30Speaker 1: had just turned sevencha one year.
- 6:35Speaker 4: So when didn't you know?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Because you're fresh, you're fresh.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yeah, So when I was eighteen months old, my mom
- 6:42Speaker 1: put me in dance and ice skating and gymnastics. Okay,
- 6:44Speaker 1: shortly to follow was more dance, like competitively related, but
- 6:48Speaker 1: ice skating gymnastics were like the first I did and
- 6:50Speaker 1: mommy me was an option, but my mom would rather
- 6:52Speaker 1: just leave me there because she's just like I need
- 6:54Speaker 1: to breathe, Like you didn sleep at night with this kid,
- 6:56Speaker 1: like just put her in something and like handle. So
- 6:59Speaker 1: when I decided to start obviously dancing and doing more
- 7:02Speaker 1: competitions and stuff like that and fully just decided to
- 7:05Speaker 1: take the initiative to stick with just dance and kind
- 7:07Speaker 1: of leave ice skanning gymnastics on the back burner, is
- 7:10Speaker 1: when I actually realized, like, Okay, I'm like actually pretty
- 7:13Speaker 1: good at this, and you're passionate. I'm really passionate. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: I loved it. I loved musicalities, even the shows. I
- 7:17Speaker 1: would like grow up watching Cheaterah Girls and these crazy things.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'm like, I want to be a cheater girl. I
- 7:22Speaker 1: need a dance, I need to do all these things.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Like that was like my life. So I started dancing,
- 7:27Speaker 1: obviously at a competitive level, very very early, and in
- 7:30Speaker 1: gymnastics and ice skinning competitions. Obviously there is different categories
- 7:34Speaker 1: and stuff like that, but for dance, there's a title
- 7:36Speaker 1: category that you can obviously have yes, And that's when
- 7:38Speaker 1: I went and competed at the age of five, and
- 7:40Speaker 1: I became the youngest national title holder. So that is
- 7:43Speaker 1: when around my time, YouTube was kind of like just
- 7:45Speaker 1: popping off. So that's when YouTube became super big. That
- 7:49Speaker 1: video kind of blew up and caught the eyes of Lifetime,
- 7:51Speaker 1: which is then when they offered me to be on
- 7:53Speaker 1: my first reality show. But that was like a full
- 7:55Speaker 1: thing in itself because they thought I was nine when
- 7:57Speaker 1: I was six, so I had to do a psyche
- 7:58Speaker 1: evaluation to be wait, so talk.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Us through that evaluation.
- 8:03Speaker 1: So they thought I was older because they thought the
- 8:05Speaker 1: youngest age they would do is ten. They were literally saying, like,
- 8:08Speaker 1: we'll make the age lower to nine for HB on
- 8:10Speaker 1: the show. My mom's like, I hate to break it
- 8:12Speaker 1: to you, but she's six, like she just turned six
- 8:14Speaker 1: to They're like, wait, no, like there's no way, that's
- 8:17Speaker 1: like this is impossible. It's like, no, I'm definitely six.
- 8:20Speaker 1: So they flew me to New York. At first, the
- 8:21Speaker 1: show wasn't called AUDC was called Like My Kid Can Dance,
- 8:25Speaker 1: And so I didn't even know what the competition aspect
- 8:27Speaker 1: of it was going to be. I just knew it
- 8:29Speaker 1: was going to be me and my mom on the show.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So they go there, they sit you down just kind
- 8:32Speaker 1: of how we're sitting down, and put you through scenarios
- 8:34Speaker 1: like if somebody said this about you, how would that
- 8:36Speaker 1: make you feel? If somebody yelled at you? Do you cry?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Do you get up? Do you try again? Like just
- 8:41Speaker 1: like literally like a therapist type question of psychology like
- 8:44Speaker 1: type of questions I blast with flying colors. I don't
- 8:46Speaker 1: think they realized what household I grew up in. But like,
- 8:48Speaker 1: yelling is our normal tone like that, I'm not saying
- 8:52Speaker 1: that none of that. And I had so many strict
- 8:55Speaker 1: like coaches and everything I did. It wasn't just like
- 8:57Speaker 1: just for dance. I was skating like I had rush
- 9:00Speaker 1: and coaches and gymnastics. I had like just a bunch
- 9:03Speaker 1: of different, very strong natured coaches. That having a dance
- 9:05Speaker 1: instructor yell at me was the least of my problems.
- 9:07Speaker 4: But I think that's just naturally you being able to
- 9:10Speaker 4: process it.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It's just naturally who you are.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Because there's some people who get yelled at and they
- 9:15Speaker 4: just they can't handle it. They go into themselves. But
- 9:18Speaker 4: you it's just everything is just it's like it's just
- 9:21Speaker 4: this water that just.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Kind of.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I'm never seeing anything like this before in my life
- 9:29Speaker 4: because there's times where I'm like, no, I can kind
- 9:31Speaker 4: of take the punches, but then there I'm like, dang,
- 9:33Speaker 4: no I can't.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Then you got Asia level yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, like you came out, you came out of
- 9:39Speaker 2: the world. Yeah, and your being able to do what
- 9:45Speaker 2: you were just you were just.
- 9:47Speaker 1: You are I do things. So like when it came
- 9:51Speaker 1: to having that kind of like protection mechanism over like
- 9:54Speaker 1: not letting people's words bother me, is when I started
- 9:56Speaker 1: to realizing as I grew older that my own like
- 9:59Speaker 1: person feeling of perfection was more something I internalized than
- 10:03Speaker 1: having other people tell me to be perfect.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I'm so glad you said that, because we are going
- 10:07Speaker 4: to transition into just how you internalize that. Yeah, But
- 10:11Speaker 4: before I want to ask you, what's one thing you
- 10:13Speaker 4: learned from your mom? And we are going to get
- 10:15Speaker 4: into my bit later, But your mom and your dad
- 10:19Speaker 4: that had nothing to do with competition and winning, Like,
- 10:21Speaker 4: what's one thing that you gained from them?
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'd say for my father's aspect is like the continuous
- 10:26Speaker 1: drive because mind you. My dad competed in the Olympia,
- 10:29Speaker 1: which is the highest level that you can get in bodybuilding,
- 10:32Speaker 1: like fourteen times, and he never won. He went back
- 10:35Speaker 1: every single year and there was always somebody and still
- 10:37Speaker 1: to this day, it's like an ongoing joke in the
- 10:38Speaker 1: friend group. It's like he's the uncrowned king of Olympia
- 10:41Speaker 1: because his body, physique and everything. But there's always going
- 10:43Speaker 1: to be that one person that may just be picked
- 10:45Speaker 1: over you. But the masses think it should have been you,
- 10:47Speaker 1: and it wasn't you because you have a judge, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: you have numerous judges, a panelful of judges that said
- 10:52Speaker 1: this person was taller than you, this person looked better
- 10:54Speaker 1: than you, they had better triceps than you, they had
- 10:56Speaker 1: better this, this and that, all these analytical, tiny little
- 10:59Speaker 1: things that you don't take an account. You're just trying
- 11:01Speaker 1: to be the best version of yourself. So with my dad,
- 11:03Speaker 1: he kind of always instilled in me like, look, there
- 11:05Speaker 1: may be somebody that will get something that is not
- 11:07Speaker 1: offered to you, or something that you thought you should
- 11:09Speaker 1: have had and you didn't get it, But like you
- 11:11Speaker 1: should strive for your own personal perfection because you'll feel
- 11:13Speaker 1: more satisfied at the end of the day. But my mom,
- 11:15Speaker 1: it was just the constant drive to keep going, constantly
- 11:18Speaker 1: do it no matter what it was.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Like.
- 11:20Speaker 1: If I felt like I'm having a weak moment or
- 11:22Speaker 1: like I'm a feeling like I'm just overwhelmed with too
- 11:24Speaker 1: many things, just take that second and just like pick
- 11:27Speaker 1: it back up. Don't let people see you mess up.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And that's something that she always used to tell me.
- 11:30Speaker 1: In dance specifically, I was known in dance set if
- 11:34Speaker 1: I messed up, you would never know because I would improvise,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and problem was my favorite thing to do. I got
- 11:38Speaker 1: yelled aup all the time for doing that for my
- 11:41Speaker 1: actual coaches, but I didn't care because I won, so
- 11:43Speaker 1: it doesn't matter when I like the provis Nobody was
- 11:46Speaker 1: there in the behind the scenes of learning in this dance.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It was just me in my choreographer. So my mom
- 11:51Speaker 1: would always tell me, like, you have to improvise. You
- 11:53Speaker 1: just got to make it work. Nobody can see when
- 11:54Speaker 1: you're down. And I kind of take that into my
- 11:55Speaker 1: day to day life because nobody knows. I can't tell
- 11:58Speaker 1: them what I'm up, so they won't see me when
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm down. But I also will never show you that
- 12:01Speaker 1: I was ever down to begin with.
- 12:02Speaker 4: That's actually a great something that I actually need to
- 12:07Speaker 4: hear because I'm.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Expressive, Like you can tell in my face something really
- 12:11Speaker 1: irritates me. You're like, she's not looking very happy, little hour,
- 12:15Speaker 1: so I've like kind of locked and I'm like, okay,
- 12:17Speaker 1: facial expressions on. And to me, that doesn't seem like
- 12:20Speaker 1: me being fake. It seems like my own personal perfectionism,
- 12:22Speaker 1: like mechanism, so like I can keep the vision of
- 12:25Speaker 1: what everyone sees, and like I can have my weak
- 12:27Speaker 1: moments by myself. I don't need to be judged on that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: My whole life has been public everything I have to
- 12:31Speaker 1: go and find baby photos from Google, not for my
- 12:34Speaker 1: own camera. So when all those things are so public,
- 12:36Speaker 1: sometimes you just need to have that own personal life
- 12:39Speaker 1: that I can kind of differentiate from my professional life.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And if that means I have to fake a smile,
- 12:43Speaker 1: sometimes I'd rather fake a smile and make myself happy
- 12:45Speaker 1: throughout the day than like sulk in my sadness and
- 12:47Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, what was me?
- 12:49Speaker 5: Okay, So the feeling of being perfect really wasn't an
- 12:53Speaker 5: issue for you, no, So you didn't have that. But
- 12:56Speaker 5: when what about being misunderstood about being a child performer.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'd say that for sure, I misunderstood is a good
- 13:04Speaker 1: word in the sense of like. For example, the reason
- 13:07Speaker 1: I became homeschooled is because my own teachers at the
- 13:09Speaker 1: school I was going to said that I had no
- 13:12Speaker 1: relative conversations with my classmates. I'd get in trouble for
- 13:15Speaker 1: speaking too much about my own personal passions of dance.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Then my teacher came to my mom and is like,
- 13:20Speaker 1: we don't think that she should dance anymore. And she's like,
- 13:21Speaker 1: why all she talks about is dance. She's talking about
- 13:23Speaker 1: her sixteen hour dance competition days and this, this and
- 13:25Speaker 1: then and the other. It's not healthy. My mom's like,
- 13:27Speaker 1: she seems healthy to me.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Yea.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But I loved it so much. But it also made
- 13:31Speaker 1: me very isolated in friend groups. I talk to anything
- 13:33Speaker 1: that breaths. I'm a little yapper. I have always been
- 13:36Speaker 1: that way. Yeah, that's just how I am now. With
- 13:39Speaker 1: people passionate about something, I want to tell you why
- 13:41Speaker 1: I am passionate about it, and I want to hear
- 13:43Speaker 1: what you're passionate about. But as a five six year
- 13:45Speaker 1: old kid in first grade, hearing about people's passions was
- 13:48Speaker 1: the newest Barbie doll, not about the competition I have
- 13:50Speaker 1: in a week. So it became very kind of misunderstood
- 13:53Speaker 1: of like why is she so into this? Like what
- 13:55Speaker 1: does this mean to her? But I mean to be
- 13:57Speaker 1: honest in the most like humble way possible. When I
- 14:00Speaker 1: you actually compare myself to the people I grew up with,
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm very content with how I am right now. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: only see myself going and growing to be better and
- 14:08Speaker 1: bigger than what I am now. I didn't need to
- 14:10Speaker 1: be at a standstill, and if that meant like not
- 14:12Speaker 1: being in school and having normal activities, then I was
- 14:14Speaker 1: okay with that, and I think my parents realized that too.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I didn't need the satisfaction of going to a prom
- 14:19Speaker 1: to be like validated in school life or be understood
- 14:22Speaker 1: by people my age. That's why all my friends are
- 14:23Speaker 1: older than me. I love it. It's so great. I
- 14:26Speaker 1: learned so many things from their own, things that they
- 14:27Speaker 1: wish they would have changed, or things that advice that
- 14:29Speaker 1: they give me, and like, of course every advice can
- 14:32Speaker 1: be taken with a grain of salt, but some things
- 14:33Speaker 1: have actually impacted my life and all my friends have
- 14:35Speaker 1: been older than me, and that's great. Even on the shows,
- 14:38Speaker 1: I was the youngest by what they were fourteen, I
- 14:40Speaker 1: was six. Like now they're married and have children. I'm
- 14:44Speaker 1: just trying to get by. I'm just trying to get
- 14:45Speaker 1: to twenty one. Yeah, they're like, I'm.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Trying to plan my trip.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Exactly. So it's different. And that's where I think it's
- 14:53Speaker 1: sometimes it's misunderstood, cacase still to this day, you can
- 14:55Speaker 1: see people that grew up watching on the shows, maybe
- 14:57Speaker 1: with their moms, and their moms like, oh, how could
- 15:00Speaker 1: Christy let Asia do this at such a young age?
- 15:02Speaker 1: Oh my god? How could her parents that are I
- 15:05Speaker 1: was fine my parents Like there's numerous clips and bits
- 15:08Speaker 1: of the shows where you see that are so creatively
- 15:10Speaker 1: edited about my parents talking about what I eat or
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm clearly I'm gonna say this.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I'm gonna say this. My mom and I watched, and
- 15:18Speaker 4: we never had that thought. It was never a how
- 15:21Speaker 4: could your mom? We were a fan, like, we were
- 15:25Speaker 4: just like, we see this little girl kicking ass, and
- 15:28Speaker 4: this is inspiring and good for her parents allowing her
- 15:32Speaker 4: to be in the space where she is thriving.
- 15:34Speaker 2: And you could see the difference between you and the other.
- 15:37Speaker 4: You could see it.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You could just see the athleticism. You can see this.
- 15:45Speaker 5: The way that you came out on stage, the way
- 15:47Speaker 5: you controlled the stage.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Was just it. It was set apart from everybody else.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I just I also feel like it's who's viewing it.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Because if you grew up with athletes in your family,
- 15:57Speaker 1: if you grew up around being so into your sport
- 15:59Speaker 1: where it becomes like your life, it's not even a
- 16:01Speaker 1: competition more, this is what I do for a living,
- 16:03Speaker 1: then you can see and appreciate what you're seeing that
- 16:05Speaker 1: my parents did for me. If you're coming from something
- 16:07Speaker 1: where you kind of want your kids to just live life,
- 16:10Speaker 1: be kids when they're kids, you're going to have a
- 16:12Speaker 1: lot of criticism towards my parents. They've commented on what
- 16:15Speaker 1: my parents had me eating scrambled eggs, no egg whites,
- 16:18Speaker 1: nor no egg yok, only egg whites, like these little things. Clearly,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm perfectly fine. I love food. I'm hav a great
- 16:24Speaker 1: grand old time or so I wasn't able to do like, oh,
- 16:27Speaker 1: I want to go to the park with my sister,
- 16:29Speaker 1: Like I didn't need to go to the park, like
- 16:31Speaker 1: those little things are just like things that people kind
- 16:34Speaker 1: of nippick on that are definitely a part of the
- 16:35Speaker 1: creative editing of things to kind of just show like
- 16:38Speaker 1: what I could have been doing rather than what I'm
- 16:40Speaker 1: doing now. But I'm I'm so beyond haappy. I wouldn't
- 16:43Speaker 1: change my child of anything. I feel like I can't
- 16:46Speaker 1: live life with like regrets. I can just like improve
- 16:49Speaker 1: what I did that I did regret at that time.
- 16:50Speaker 1: But when it comes to the shows, I don't think
- 16:52Speaker 1: I regret anything.
- 16:53Speaker 5: So you had an unconventional childhood was so outside of dance?
- 16:59Speaker 2: What was fun?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Like?
- 17:00Speaker 5: What did you enjoy just on a normal day outside
- 17:03Speaker 5: of dance?
- 17:04Speaker 1: Well, I'd say like two things. My grandmother on my
- 17:07Speaker 1: mom's side was very like present a lot of the times,
- 17:09Speaker 1: especially during my own show, because my sister also needed
- 17:12Speaker 1: somebody to watch her. When my mom and I would
- 17:13Speaker 1: do things so crafting. I loved arts and craps. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: still love arts and I paint all the time. I
- 17:18Speaker 1: love doing those things, even when it comes to like
- 17:20Speaker 1: be dazzling things, like there's a new trend. I guess
- 17:22Speaker 1: people are dazzling everything. I feel like, yeah, it's my
- 17:24Speaker 1: whole life.
- 17:26Speaker 4: What are those little Stanley cups.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm a portable fan like, so like craps
- 17:32Speaker 1: and stuff like that kind of made that was my childhood.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I enjoyed that. I felt like that was still kid esque,
- 17:36Speaker 1: if you will. But outside of that, I volunteer with
- 17:39Speaker 1: a lot of animals, and I grew up with a
- 17:40Speaker 1: lot of animals, and I own a lot of animals.
- 17:47Speaker 1: There's nothing. I'm very pecularly.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's so much fun. It's so much fun to learn
- 17:51Speaker 2: about you.
- 17:52Speaker 5: So when we did our interview talent call, we did
- 17:54Speaker 5: our talent call you you brought a visitor my child.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Children. I know this may be a deal breaker for
- 18:02Speaker 1: some have four birds. Yes, this is the one that
- 18:05Speaker 1: you guys saw. We call him Pink, but his name
- 18:07Speaker 1: is Maximilian and he's a Rosegalla cockatoo. So I have
- 18:11Speaker 1: three cockatoos and a cockatool and a dog. But my
- 18:14Speaker 1: mom said, the family has two farms, horse ranch and
- 18:16Speaker 1: one that we're kind of like redoing to get more
- 18:18Speaker 1: animals on that was my outside world of like entertainment,
- 18:22Speaker 1: because like, what are animals going to tell me what
- 18:24Speaker 1: I did on to you? Like, no, it's just something
- 18:26Speaker 1: I enjoy and then now like obviously like during COVID,
- 18:28Speaker 1: it was a lot of like break time. But for me,
- 18:30Speaker 1: it gave me an opportunity to allot do more like
- 18:33Speaker 1: charity work with animals and volunteer. So I helped phrase
- 18:36Speaker 1: baby birds and do things at the Animal Humane Society.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And so that's kind of like my outside, to be honest,
- 18:41Speaker 1: my house is like rainforest cafe. I love it.
- 18:43Speaker 2: And you said you've had your bird too for a.
- 18:45Speaker 1: While, but oldest bird was on the show.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Yeah, but you said there was another bird that had
- 18:51Speaker 4: so yes, indeed, my little I wanted to leave.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I know, I kind of wanted to bring him to
- 18:57Speaker 1: day too, you're speaking of this morning. But we took
- 18:59Speaker 1: him to the because he was like picking at his
- 19:01Speaker 1: feathers because he has an obsession with balancing things on
- 19:04Speaker 1: his head.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Okay, and he.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Got I mean, I'm sorry, Okay, is it here so
- 19:13Speaker 5: he can't judge you guys, I'm okay, you don't show him.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about him when.
- 19:19Speaker 1: His name is Mango, Mango magnically because our oldest bird
- 19:24Speaker 1: is twenty four to twenty five.
- 19:26Speaker 2: When I live.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Typically they have to be in your will they'll probably outlive.
- 19:30Speaker 2: You have to will the birds.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they're all in my will.
- 19:32Speaker 4: That's something I just learned.
- 19:34Speaker 1: They, like all of my cockatios, will probably live till
- 19:35Speaker 1: about sixty to seventy years.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Our cockatil probably thirty forty. They're four years old right now.
- 19:41Speaker 1: They're with me forever, which is great. Love them so much.
- 19:44Speaker 1: But they're handful, like any children, but specifically this one
- 19:49Speaker 1: is definitely a handful. It was during the time I
- 19:51Speaker 1: was kind of volunteering and I really wanted another bird,
- 19:54Speaker 1: but except I wanted a bird that was this big.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And I brought home a bird that was this big,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and I begged my parents. I was like, this is
- 19:59Speaker 1: all I've ever wanted for Christmas, like this they've ever wanted. Please,
- 20:03Speaker 1: And someone bought him and I was like, well, looks
- 20:06Speaker 1: like my Christmas present. Scraps gotta find any bird to
- 20:08Speaker 1: try and beg them to. And the person never picked
- 20:10Speaker 1: him up, and so I was like, well, it's a sign.
- 20:15Speaker 1: But then I realized why they never picked him up.
- 20:16Speaker 1: He's a handful. He's a hard bird to deal with,
- 20:19Speaker 1: but you know what they say, I love him. He's
- 20:21Speaker 1: the best ever.
- 20:22Speaker 4: He looks like a fish.
- 20:23Speaker 1: He has huge eyes. We kind of looked like twins.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie stain angles point five stop kind
- 20:29Speaker 1: of uncanny.
- 20:30Speaker 4: I was gonna say, the best people connect with animals, yeah, character, Yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 4: good people.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I don't walge.
- 20:40Speaker 1: About like my fishes or anything, because that would make
- 20:42Speaker 1: it seem like I'm not good with animals. They jumped
- 20:44Speaker 1: on the stove when I was like seven, So the
- 20:49Speaker 1: stove and it was just on.
- 20:52Speaker 2: They wanted to be fish, they wanted to die.
- 20:55Speaker 1: It was a bit of fish. They were very unpredictable.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I don't fish. And then we got another bait fish
- 21:00Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, mine attacked my sister's made of
- 21:04Speaker 1: fish and it was the whole extravagans that we have.
- 21:06Speaker 2: It was really beautiful to beautiful, but they're not there.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Just jumped out on the Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I just I literally literally walked downstairs one morning and
- 21:16Speaker 1: I was like, no, the fish and my dad just
- 21:19Speaker 1: had made breakfast and I'm like, what's niche though, and
- 21:21Speaker 1: like where our island was. It was like our island
- 21:23Speaker 1: table in the kitchen, so like the stove, so you
- 21:25Speaker 1: can really like put an arm over it. Well, he
- 21:28Speaker 1: jumped him his name is Sparkles. But Sparkles that's a
- 21:32Speaker 1: unique one.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Okay, for sure.
- 21:34Speaker 1: We haven't gone back to the fish ever again. Okay,
- 21:36Speaker 1: that's why I think we kind of stuck with birds.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie jumping out onto the.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I have not like it was a really bad timing,
- 21:46Speaker 1: I'd say, but every other animal likes me.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I think he jumped out. He just wanted
- 21:52Speaker 4: he was trying to explore the world and explored or something.
- 21:57Speaker 4: But other than that, like four birds and a dog
- 21:59Speaker 4: is a lot of work. But I'm definitely getting a
- 22:01Speaker 4: bunny in this April. So I English and Goora Bunny.
- 22:06Speaker 4: They're so cute and they're super fluffy. Lexi would love
- 22:09Speaker 4: to have this conversation with you. My sister, she loves animals.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Lexi is an animal whisper, so she would just she
- 22:15Speaker 4: would love this.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Do you ever like remember my Melody from like the
- 22:17Speaker 1: Hello Kitty series, My Melody, the little One. She had
- 22:20Speaker 1: little bunny ears and she's pink. Oh that's the reason
- 22:23Speaker 1: I want a bunny. That was like my favorite character
- 22:25Speaker 1: growing up. I like loved her. So I'm like, I
- 22:28Speaker 1: kind of want to name my bunny, but everybody I.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Know that has a bunny Like it's they really love
- 22:31Speaker 5: the bunny and they're really like kid going.
- 22:34Speaker 1: To be a pocket bunny. Like I'm getting a little
- 22:35Speaker 1: pink bag. She's gonna be potty trained. I'm getting her
- 22:37Speaker 1: a carri potty trained the bunny. Yeah, my mom had
- 22:40Speaker 1: a bunny that was potty trained and a ferret. I'm
- 22:42Speaker 1: telling you that I want another ferret so bad. I
- 22:47Speaker 1: never had it.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Was just potty trained the bunny.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I'm not even sure we have to ask my mom
- 22:52Speaker 1: that one. I think it's just kind of like how
- 22:53Speaker 1: you potty train a dog, we need train a bunny. Yeah,
- 22:58Speaker 1: she potty trained her fair it too.
- 23:01Speaker 4: The farret, I know. Yeah, Well we had so our
- 23:05Speaker 4: neighbor across the street and Katie had one, so we
- 23:07Speaker 4: would watch him all the time.
- 23:09Speaker 1: LEXI loved that farret. I want a ferret so about
- 23:11Speaker 1: they're not like whether that's what my mom got hers
- 23:16Speaker 1: taken away. She didn't know they didn't have this land out.
- 23:19Speaker 4: He told me because she wanted one. We're gonna connect
- 23:21Speaker 4: you on Lexie watching ferrets. Let's just get two things.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I think let's get into dance moms. Shall Yeah, absolutely
- 23:32Speaker 4: so when people think about your time on Dance Moms,
- 23:35Speaker 4: there are moments that really stand out. I mean I
- 23:37Speaker 4: have my like lists of things that stood out for me,
- 23:40Speaker 4: but from your perspective, what moments feel the most iconic
- 23:44Speaker 4: and why?
- 23:45Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'll start with one that I personally think
- 23:48Speaker 1: and then i'll start I mean, I'll finish with the
- 23:50Speaker 1: one that the fan favorite re upload on social media
- 23:54Speaker 1: haunts me with till this day. I think one thing
- 23:57Speaker 1: for me that I like always kind of chased for
- 24:00Speaker 1: was competition and winning, and I love I'm very competitive.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I won't say necessarily in like day to day things,
- 24:07Speaker 1: because like I kind of am. Really I've gotten really
- 24:09Speaker 1: good at differentiating my competition level in my things that
- 24:12Speaker 1: I do versus like competition level on a day to
- 24:15Speaker 1: day basis. But in Dance Moms, I was originally kind
- 24:19Speaker 1: of recruited for the show after my time on AUDC
- 24:22Speaker 1: because the whole reason that I even went on Dance
- 24:24Speaker 1: Moms was because I couldn't win the show before I
- 24:26Speaker 1: was too young. It was the the prize was the
- 24:28Speaker 1: jof for School of Ballet and one hundred thousand dollars
- 24:31Speaker 1: and you have to be sixteen, so they would not
- 24:34Speaker 1: hold a ten year spot for me being six years old.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So they're like, we want to offer you your own show,
- 24:38Speaker 1: but we want you to go on Dance Swums. That's
- 24:40Speaker 1: what Appy wants you to go on first. She thinks
- 24:42Speaker 1: that you will really fit with her team. So we
- 24:44Speaker 1: moved to Pittsburgh, my mom and I. We stayed in
- 24:46Speaker 1: a hotel for like four or five months. I'm personally
- 24:49Speaker 1: not the biggest fan of Pittsburgh, to be honest, I'm
- 24:51Speaker 1: sure it's a lovely place to grow up if you
- 24:53Speaker 1: have a home, but not living in a hotel for
- 24:55Speaker 1: fey through the winter of black ice and everything into
- 24:58Speaker 1: the summer, it was just too much. And I was
- 25:02Speaker 1: obviously away from my sister and my dad and other
- 25:03Speaker 1: family members, but joining the actual show. Initially, the girls
- 25:07Speaker 1: were lovely. Everybody was lovely to me. They were quite welcoming.
- 25:10Speaker 1: The show didn't make it seem like they were welcoming,
- 25:12Speaker 1: but they were very welcoming. I'm still actually good friends
- 25:14Speaker 1: with all of them. I have nothing bad to say
- 25:16Speaker 1: about one of them, Like they're truly the best. I'd
- 25:18Speaker 1: say now, I'm probably i'd talk the most or kind
- 25:20Speaker 1: of see the most. Nia Kenzie Brick and Page. But
- 25:24Speaker 1: a lot of the girls kind of just do their
- 25:25Speaker 1: own thing, and I honestly I love that for them, really.
- 25:28Speaker 1: But once I was on the show and stuff like that,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and I started winning consistently, and it became apparent to
- 25:33Speaker 1: people that that is what I do, That's what I'm
- 25:34Speaker 1: good at. It's kind of when I got my own
- 25:37Speaker 1: personal validation of like, okay, cool, like this is I
- 25:39Speaker 1: can do this for a little longer. Then once it
- 25:42Speaker 1: got to towards the end of the show, of like
- 25:44Speaker 1: end of that season, because I was on season three,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I was like, you know what, I'm kind of over
- 25:48Speaker 1: this now, Like I really don't care to do the
- 25:50Speaker 1: whole competition route anymore. And I think it was just
- 25:52Speaker 1: because it was just getting a little overwhelming at that time.
- 25:55Speaker 1: And the one thing I will say my parents always
- 25:56Speaker 1: did is when something got too overwhelming to the point
- 25:58Speaker 1: of me saying I don't want to do it anymore,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I never had to do it again if I didn't
- 26:01Speaker 1: want to. So obviously I already knew I was coming
- 26:03Speaker 1: back home to start filming my own show, and I
- 26:05Speaker 1: was like, let's just do that. I don't think the
- 26:07Speaker 1: competition route I really need to do anymore. If for
- 26:09Speaker 1: some reason I go back home and I want to
- 26:11Speaker 1: join a studio again, then by all means like I'll
- 26:13Speaker 1: do it again. But rejoining a studio after being such
- 26:16Speaker 1: a public dancer would be very hard for me, and
- 26:18Speaker 1: so I just decided to, like, you know, wrap up
- 26:20Speaker 1: the competition after Dance Moms and then that's when I
- 26:24Speaker 1: was presented my own show and did that first season.
- 26:26Speaker 4: So do you feel like you accomplished everything that you
- 26:29Speaker 4: needed to accomplish on your for sure.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I think there's certain people that are really good with
- 26:34Speaker 1: being team players, and there's certain people that are very
- 26:36Speaker 1: good being solos. I always had a problem with being
- 26:39Speaker 1: in group dances because I could not dim my own
- 26:42Speaker 1: light to make me look like I was significant to
- 26:44Speaker 1: everybody else. I was never good at being cohesive in
- 26:47Speaker 1: that way. Solos is what I won, and that's why
- 26:49Speaker 1: I won them because I was by myself due's yeah
- 26:52Speaker 1: here and there. I didn't mind working with another person.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I wasn't hard to work with in that sense. It
- 26:56Speaker 1: was hard for me to work with them. But after that,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I feel like winning so many times, like I if
- 27:03Speaker 1: I can recall, I don't think I lost any of
- 27:05Speaker 1: my solos, and I don't, I don't. I don't know either.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I just I think it was just I was fulfilled.
- 27:11Speaker 1: My cup was full. I was good with that. I
- 27:13Speaker 1: don't think that there was much more dance momps as
- 27:15Speaker 1: a whole could offer me anymore, And so I was like,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm okay with this. I don't want to continue doing this,
- 27:20Speaker 1: And then it make it seem like I'm not enjoying
- 27:21Speaker 1: myself anymore because I was having fun a grand ole
- 27:23Speaker 1: time and we got to go. I got to see
- 27:25Speaker 1: so many places I didn't see before. I got to
- 27:27Speaker 1: do so many competitions and nationals and things and titles
- 27:30Speaker 1: that I just kept adding to my list a resume.
- 27:33Speaker 1: But once that was done, it was like a chapter
- 27:34Speaker 1: was closed. I'm ready to start a new chapter. And
- 27:36Speaker 1: so I obviously leaving that show. I was around eight
- 27:38Speaker 1: years old by now, so it felt like, Okay, the
- 27:41Speaker 1: year's up. But three hundred and sixty five days of
- 27:43Speaker 1: this and I'm cool. I'm done at eight. So I retired.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Guys, So how do you feel being labeled as a
- 27:50Speaker 4: dancer who was who had a maturity beyond her years?
- 27:53Speaker 4: So looking back at that now, how do you feel
- 27:56Speaker 4: being labeled as that person?
- 27:58Speaker 6: You know?
- 27:58Speaker 1: It's actually oddly enough, was having this conversation with someone
- 28:01Speaker 1: really close to me, like not too long ago, and
- 28:03Speaker 1: it was kind of the question of like, like, how
- 28:05Speaker 1: do you feel rewatching yourself when you're younger? Yeah, And
- 28:08Speaker 1: I honestly like have an out of body experience. I
- 28:12Speaker 1: don't know if it's like kind of me like I
- 28:14Speaker 1: don't know, blocking out certain memories, but when I watch myself,
- 28:18Speaker 1: it doesn't feel like I did it. And it's a
- 28:20Speaker 1: really weird thing. I feel like I've been like kind
- 28:22Speaker 1: of like trying to discover in the past couple of
- 28:24Speaker 1: years because obviously transferring into the music aspect of things
- 28:28Speaker 1: and not doing dance as my forefront. It's the number
- 28:31Speaker 1: one question I get asked. It doesn't matter if anybody
- 28:33Speaker 1: comes up to me. Do you still dance? Do you
- 28:34Speaker 1: dance anymore? Why don't you dance anymore? You dance again?
- 28:37Speaker 1: So when was that, like the last time I actually
- 28:39Speaker 1: competitively danced or did dance to a higher extent. I
- 28:43Speaker 1: was probably thirteen, and it was on tour with Mariah Carey.
- 28:46Speaker 1: That was oh, just Mariah Carey. I was wow, Okay,
- 28:51Speaker 1: and ironically the choreographer for that for that tour was
- 28:54Speaker 1: the choreographer who was on my own show and also
- 28:57Speaker 1: a DC with me and on Dance actually lekographer for everything.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Really he's the one who said, look like I have
- 29:02Speaker 1: a girl in la I know she's not based in
- 29:04Speaker 1: New York, but like we meet her. And then that's
- 29:06Speaker 1: when when I went on tour with hers, probably the
- 29:08Speaker 1: last time I danced to that level of constant day
- 29:11Speaker 1: to day two shows today, crazy competition level training for that. Now,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I dance like privately. I dance because I enjoy it,
- 29:19Speaker 1: not because I need to do it. And of course
- 29:21Speaker 1: when it comes with music, music and dance go hand
- 29:22Speaker 1: in hand, so you'll never not see a music video
- 29:24Speaker 1: of me like not dancing. I never see a performance
- 29:27Speaker 1: of me also not dancing like I think those go
- 29:29Speaker 1: hand in hand. But until it's at that point where
- 29:31Speaker 1: I am consistently touring as like by myself or with
- 29:35Speaker 1: somebody or opening and then I just kind of dance
- 29:37Speaker 1: and do my own thing, I don't really enjoy a
- 29:39Speaker 1: like dance class anymore. Really, I feel like it's like
- 29:42Speaker 1: there's a lot of pressure for a lot of people,
- 29:44Speaker 1: and I feel like everybody's trying to make their mark.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I've made my mark and dance and I'm cool with that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Are you saying you would not do a tour.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Or I would absolutely do too. It's I think that's
- 29:55Speaker 1: the next time I'll bring dancing to that level for
- 29:58Speaker 1: your own craft, exactly when it comes to your own
- 30:01Speaker 1: way and in control and picking the choreographer that sees
- 30:03Speaker 1: my vision for that. Because you don't ever lose the
- 30:05Speaker 1: love for dance. I just think I lost the drive
- 30:09Speaker 1: to continue doing it to that level anymore.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Would you ever teach?
- 30:12Speaker 1: You know, I used to do like conventions, like I'd
- 30:15Speaker 1: be assistant choreographic choreographer, and I do like choreography on tour.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I did it actually one with a really good friend
- 30:21Speaker 1: of mine when we were younger, straight off the AUDC Show,
- 30:23Speaker 1: and I loved it. I have a lot of patients
- 30:25Speaker 1: with like younger children, and I also have a lot
- 30:28Speaker 1: of patience when it comes to other people who enjoy
- 30:30Speaker 1: like what I do as well. But I don't know.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Maybe that would be something I do in the future. Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: that would be really fun. I really enjoyed that. I
- 30:35Speaker 1: would never turn down that opportunity. So you enjoy choreographer. Yeah,
- 30:40Speaker 1: oh absolutely, That's why I love when it comes to
- 30:42Speaker 1: doing my own thing and being kind of like executive
- 30:46Speaker 1: or with somebody, I can be like, you know what,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I see this in a different way and tell me
- 30:49Speaker 1: how can we workshop this and make both of our
- 30:51Speaker 1: visions like go together. But until I go on a tour,
- 30:55Speaker 1: which hopefully with our manifestations speaking, so manifestation visions, that's me.
- 31:05Speaker 1: What happens when I went to her is hopefully soon. Yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 1: that's when I think I'll probably dive back into the
- 31:10Speaker 1: level of dance that I was doing then for sure.
- 31:13Speaker 4: So you are about to be twenty one, Yeah, when
- 31:17Speaker 4: you look back and you see this version of yourself
- 31:20Speaker 4: that's on TV that you could look up, what would
- 31:23Speaker 4: you say to six seven eight nine ten year old
- 31:26Speaker 4: Asia being almost twenty six seven eight nine, because you,
- 31:31Speaker 4: I mean, you were, you were on you were in
- 31:33Speaker 4: the public eye for such a for a long time
- 31:35Speaker 4: at such a young age for sure. So now that
- 31:37Speaker 4: you are about to enter adulthood, what would you tell her?
- 31:41Speaker 1: That's a good question, honestly, Like, hmm, I feel like
- 31:45Speaker 1: there's so much. I think one thing I will say
- 31:47Speaker 1: is like when I look back at like how I
- 31:49Speaker 1: was raised and what I've done, Like my parents did
- 31:52Speaker 1: such a good job with me that I'd hope that
- 31:53Speaker 1: when one day I have a family, if I have
- 31:56Speaker 1: a daughter, and this is the route you'd want to take,
- 31:58Speaker 1: I wouldn't change anything. So I feel like, if anything,
- 32:01Speaker 1: I was so overly content with everything I've done, I
- 32:04Speaker 1: have no regrets, I'd do it all over again. Maybe
- 32:06Speaker 1: i'd point my toes in a couple more things straight
- 32:08Speaker 1: a leg here and there, not get yelled at. Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 1: stop the sass of it. But little things like that.
- 32:13Speaker 1: But overall, like I feel like if I were to
- 32:15Speaker 1: see myself at a younger self, like in the same
- 32:18Speaker 1: room as me, I'd be very proud. I'm not. I
- 32:21Speaker 1: don't really have anything negative to say about anything that
- 32:23Speaker 1: I grew up with.
- 32:24Speaker 4: But even just tell I'm proud of you, because I
- 32:28Speaker 4: will say.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Like especially recently too, Like when it comes to I
- 32:31Speaker 1: always like to ask my friends this, So I feel
- 32:33Speaker 1: like this is I'm a very question person. Mike, tell
- 32:35Speaker 1: me what you think your best quality and your biggest
- 32:37Speaker 1: flaw is for me, Like I know that my best
- 32:39Speaker 1: quality is like when it comes to like personal relationships,
- 32:42Speaker 1: friendship stuff like that. But my universal flaw is that
- 32:44Speaker 1: I strive to perfection so much to the point it's
- 32:46Speaker 1: become like a personal disease for myself, to the point
- 32:49Speaker 1: where I've re recorded songs that are already done eight
- 32:51Speaker 1: more times because I think it could be better. And
- 32:53Speaker 1: sometimes you just kind of like had to take a second.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Nobody's perfect. Yeah, I'm never going to be the perfect
- 32:58Speaker 1: standard for everybody. Sometimes I'm not even perfect for myself,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and like that's okay, okay, And so I think younger
- 33:03Speaker 1: me had a very hard time understanding that. Why I'm
- 33:05Speaker 1: getting so frustrated and worked up and overwhelming feelings because
- 33:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to be something I simply cannot be. I
- 33:11Speaker 1: am just doing my best. I'm just trying to give by.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I'm just trying to do this, and I kept thinking
- 33:15Speaker 1: that there was something more I could have done, and
- 33:17Speaker 1: that's where I think the regret kind of came into it.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I'm like, Okay, if I just did this, like, would
- 33:21Speaker 1: have that been different? No, because that's not possible. Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 1: I cannot go back in time and change things, and
- 33:27Speaker 1: I don't plan on going back and changing anything. So
- 33:29Speaker 1: I try and take that advice now, like when I
- 33:31Speaker 1: get overwhelmed about things, or when I feel like, you
- 33:34Speaker 1: know what, I'm pushing myself a little bit too hard. Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I'm putting on too many hats. I'm just taking too
- 33:39Speaker 1: many things. I'm doing everything for everybody and myself and everything.
- 33:42Speaker 1: It gets too much. And it's because I'm trying to
- 33:44Speaker 1: be this perfect person that you just can't be and
- 33:46Speaker 1: that's okay. So just telling if I were to be
- 33:49Speaker 1: able to tell my younger self, I'm proud of you,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you don't have to be perfect and it's okay. Like
- 33:52Speaker 1: what you're doing right now is more than enough and
- 33:54Speaker 1: it's perfect enough. I think that I would have needed
- 33:56Speaker 1: to hear that a little more often. I wouldn't mind.
- 33:58Speaker 4: That, Okay, dance, I guess. I guess it's about separating
- 34:02Speaker 4: your artistry to real life. I guess, and dance, you
- 34:05Speaker 4: probably did feel like you needed to be pread to
- 34:07Speaker 4: reach this level absolute. I mean, you have teachers that
- 34:10Speaker 4: tell you that all the time. At ballet and certain things,
- 34:12Speaker 4: people get cut for even having.
- 34:14Speaker 1: A toe out of place. Yeah, a hairpin net, you see.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I mean, I'm infamous for wearing my pants on backwards
- 34:18Speaker 1: for a competition show, like obviously like these little things
- 34:22Speaker 1: I can't go back and change. And it's kind of
- 34:23Speaker 1: humorous now to think that I used to be so
- 34:26Speaker 1: engulfed with this idea that like I need to be
- 34:28Speaker 1: the best in this room, when sometimes I just needed
- 34:31Speaker 1: to be the best version of myself and that's the
- 34:32Speaker 1: reason I won.
- 34:33Speaker 4: And then it's I think as well, it's us learning
- 34:36Speaker 4: that I guess. Let's say this is a dance studio.
- 34:39Speaker 4: As soon as you leave that door, you're back into
- 34:41Speaker 4: the real world and you no longer.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Have to put on this and be this person exactly.
- 34:48Speaker 1: And that took me a very very I mean even
- 34:50Speaker 1: still to this day, it takes me a very long
- 34:51Speaker 1: time because now I'm taking those aspects in those qualities
- 34:54Speaker 1: that I had in dance gymnastics, I skin every other
- 34:57Speaker 1: endeavor into music and so those same feelings when it
- 35:01Speaker 1: comes to something I'm putting out into the world that
- 35:02Speaker 1: will be judged by everybody. As long as I love it,
- 35:05Speaker 1: then I'm cool. But it took me a long time
- 35:07Speaker 1: to realize I don't need to re record something and
- 35:09Speaker 1: hopes that this one person out of one hundred thousand
- 35:12Speaker 1: people will like it. Just as much as I do, Like,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I don't need to convince somebody to like love what
- 35:16Speaker 1: I'm doing if I love it enough.
- 35:18Speaker 4: So when you when you feel yourself not spiraling but
- 35:22Speaker 4: knowing like, okay, I'm tapping back into this, I gotta
- 35:24Speaker 4: be perfect syndrome, how do you get yourself out of it?
- 35:28Speaker 1: I just take a day off. You just take a
- 35:29Speaker 1: day off. I need a day off. I need to
- 35:31Speaker 1: just like chill and just even if that means to
- 35:33Speaker 1: some quote unquote bed rotting, then so be it. I'll
- 35:35Speaker 1: do a face mask, I'll take my self caroteae her
- 35:37Speaker 1: twenty four hours a whole day. Yes, just something just
- 35:40Speaker 1: to get my mind off of it. That's why. Now,
- 35:41Speaker 1: like the teams that I work with and stuff, when
- 35:43Speaker 1: it comes to music, they're like, don't give us your
- 35:45Speaker 1: notes until the end of the week, And I'm like,
- 35:46Speaker 1: why why I have notes now? Like, let's red it
- 35:47Speaker 1: right now, let's go tomorrow. Like live with the song.
- 35:50Speaker 1: You'll realize that these things that you're thinking can be changed.
- 35:52Speaker 1: It's just because you're hearing it right now. Sometimes you
- 35:54Speaker 1: just need to like live with it and sit with it.
- 35:57Speaker 1: It's okay, it guide it's really okay, and I think
- 36:00Speaker 1: a long time, I'm like, I don't like this feeling.
- 36:01Speaker 1: What's this feeling? I feel like comfortable? I don't like this,
- 36:03Speaker 1: like I need to say something. Yeah, it's sometimes silence
- 36:06Speaker 1: is better.
- 36:06Speaker 2: It's long and just sitting and just yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And you can take that into anything, even with conversations
- 36:11Speaker 1: with people. If somebody is not if I'm trying to
- 36:13Speaker 1: convince you of my vision and you're not seeing it,
- 36:15Speaker 1: that's okay. Maybe my vision is just not for you. Yes,
- 36:18Speaker 1: And that's totally fine.
- 36:19Speaker 4: And that's great that you are learning this now and no,
- 36:22Speaker 4: but it's great because even though you're about to be
- 36:24Speaker 4: twenty one, you're still so young.
- 36:26Speaker 2: It's very young.
- 36:28Speaker 5: Yes, I take that what you said into your adulthood.
- 36:32Speaker 5: It's a great lesson to learn.
- 36:34Speaker 4: And that's something we're even still learning. And we're thirty
- 36:36Speaker 4: five and and and and you know, and but amazing,
- 36:42Speaker 4: that's a lot. I have to shout out your ages
- 36:46Speaker 4: just you don't look at Oh no, so thirty five
- 36:48Speaker 4: and up, we're still learning that. Yeah. So it's it's
- 36:50Speaker 4: beautiful that you are, you are in tune with yourself
- 36:54Speaker 4: and you're realizing this is what you need to do
- 36:57Speaker 4: for you, and.
- 36:57Speaker 1: It's everybody cup of to you.
- 36:59Speaker 2: You're so.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'm content with my small circle. Yes, I appreciate and
- 37:04Speaker 1: I love the support of the masses. I know that
- 37:07Speaker 1: there's always going to be somebody has a critique or
- 37:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's been in everything, so I don't mind anymore.
- 37:13Speaker 1: That's kind of funny.
- 37:14Speaker 4: When Oprah back in the day when she gave away
- 37:16Speaker 4: what a car and somebody somebody still was complaining about that.
- 37:21Speaker 1: She was giving on That's what I'm saying.
- 37:23Speaker 4: So it's like, you know, you're never going to make
- 37:25Speaker 4: everybody happy. No, that's just the moral of the story.
- 37:27Speaker 4: And reiterated that if I was, they're like, it's okay.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And that's that actually was into my next no, no.
- 37:34Speaker 4: No, you keep going because I want to end with
- 37:37Speaker 4: so you.
- 37:39Speaker 5: You've been thinking about your parents and just their support.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Your mom, who's here today.
- 37:45Speaker 1: It's fabulous.
- 37:46Speaker 5: She's like, can't okay, okay, okay. But she's been known
- 37:52Speaker 5: for being very protective, supportive and vocal during your career.
- 37:56Speaker 5: How do you understand her role now looking back and
- 37:59Speaker 5: what did having her as an advocate and still here
- 38:03Speaker 5: with you. I mean, she's still with you is so
- 38:05Speaker 5: beautiful and advocate to teach you at such a young
- 38:08Speaker 5: age and now beyond.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Well, that's Mama jour now, so Mama dress since like
- 38:12Speaker 1: day one. To be honest, my mom was like fortunate
- 38:15Speaker 1: enough that she had done so many different things in
- 38:17Speaker 1: her lifetime that she retired when I was born. She
- 38:20Speaker 1: so I had my mom one hundred percent. My dad
- 38:22Speaker 1: retired like also around the time that I was born
- 38:24Speaker 1: as well, but he's obviously still been heavily in the
- 38:27Speaker 1: field that he's still working with. My mom solely became
- 38:30Speaker 1: my like number one person. And I feel like it's
- 38:32Speaker 1: also funny, like I guess certain people I don't know
- 38:34Speaker 1: how it is you hear the stories about like, oh
- 38:36Speaker 1: my god, my teenage daughter tells me nothing. My mom
- 38:38Speaker 1: knows like every single bit of my life down to
- 38:40Speaker 1: like a period a sentence anything, Like she knows every
- 38:44Speaker 1: single bit of my life. That it's like I don't
- 38:46Speaker 1: trust anybody more than her. She comes everywhere with me.
- 38:48Speaker 1: I don't drive yet, guys, let's not talk about its
- 38:53Speaker 1: me everywhere if I don't have my driver like that,
- 38:55Speaker 1: She's just always with me everywhere. And I think that
- 38:58Speaker 1: also has like kept us really close. We but had
- 39:00Speaker 1: all the time with the same sign where both Leo's
- 39:02Speaker 1: were both very short. You're the eighth right the six six,
- 39:07Speaker 1: My mom's a third, and then I'm the tenth. I
- 39:09Speaker 1: like Leo. I love le but yeah, I mean, like
- 39:15Speaker 1: it's inevitable for us to butt heads. She still sometimes
- 39:17Speaker 1: sees me as just her daughter and doesn't realize that
- 39:20Speaker 1: sometimes I view her as like business partner, like we're
- 39:22Speaker 1: like in this together, and so sometimes we step over
- 39:25Speaker 1: each other's toes and whatnot, and that's okay. I mean,
- 39:27Speaker 1: like we still laugh about all the edits, like my
- 39:29Speaker 1: sister and I, Oh my god, do we clown her?
- 39:31Speaker 1: And like our group chat with these edits that come up,
- 39:34Speaker 1: like people call her like skinny Christie, these TikTok videos
- 39:37Speaker 1: they make up for it. It's like actually humorous. But
- 39:39Speaker 1: I mean, I wouldn't like change anything. My mom's like,
- 39:42Speaker 1: I love her, She's the best.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Look.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Miss Christie owned that room, that ponytail, and she didn't play.
- 39:52Speaker 4: And that's why I was a fan of Miss Christie.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I was a fan of you, but I loved how
- 39:56Speaker 4: she did not play when it came to you.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, never that I mean like she's got it.
- 40:02Speaker 4: She Mama made sure that she was. She was protecting
- 40:05Speaker 4: her cub at all times, and there.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Are there are examples when they're not there.
- 40:12Speaker 1: So it's very it's very apparent when you see, like,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I'm very happy with where I am in my family
- 40:18Speaker 1: and are very very close knit. And that's great because
- 40:21Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of us travel, so we
- 40:22Speaker 1: don't really get one hundred percent of the time together.
- 40:24Speaker 1: But she's always there, like it don't matter, I'm my
- 40:27Speaker 1: plus ones always, She's always.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Going to be there, exactly, She's always going to be
- 40:32Speaker 4: watch we're both.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Yeah, my sister is a daddy's girl because she was
- 40:39Speaker 1: like raised with them, because I was always with my mom.
- 40:41Speaker 1: But now I feel like we've like it's even playing field.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Even though my dad says, I'm like my mom's spitting
- 40:45Speaker 1: image and I'm just like her.
- 40:47Speaker 4: So what, so Mom's here, What's one thing you will
- 40:49Speaker 4: tell her?
- 40:50Speaker 1: Oh, one thing I would tell her like thank you.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I'd say thank you because I feel like like I
- 40:55Speaker 1: don't say things enough to the point of like, but
- 40:58Speaker 1: there's so many different that my life could have ended up.
- 41:01Speaker 1: My mom could have said I don't want to retire,
- 41:03Speaker 1: and then I would have been in daycare while my
- 41:05Speaker 1: parents traveled. I would have probably not have been able
- 41:07Speaker 1: to do things competitively. If my mom decided, you know what,
- 41:11Speaker 1: I don't want her on these shows, I don't want
- 41:12Speaker 1: to exploit my child, I would not have had that
- 41:15Speaker 1: same route or path. I could have been a bodybuilder
- 41:17Speaker 1: for all I know. I don't even know what I
- 41:19Speaker 1: could have been doing. So there's a lot of things
- 41:20Speaker 1: that like I even though people like don't realize it,
- 41:24Speaker 1: but my mom has said a yes to a lot
- 41:25Speaker 1: of things. Even though I'll say with my mom was
- 41:28Speaker 1: like you would never say yes, you would never let
- 41:29Speaker 1: me do anything. Yeah, yeah, I'll take thing. Yeah, But
- 41:34Speaker 1: my mom said yes to a lot of things. Now
- 41:36Speaker 1: may have she may have said no to certain things
- 41:38Speaker 1: that I probably didn't even need to be at, or
- 41:39Speaker 1: places I didn't need to go, maybe with the wrong
- 41:41Speaker 1: people there that she didn't want me to. And I'm
- 41:43Speaker 1: very happy she's told me not to go. So there's
- 41:46Speaker 1: certain I think you just like an overall like thank
- 41:47Speaker 1: you was like enough, like obviously she knows I love her,
- 41:49Speaker 1: she's like my best friend. But I mean, like thank
- 41:52Speaker 1: you for sure, because I think a lot of people
- 41:54Speaker 1: still run with the narrative that I didn't have control
- 41:56Speaker 1: over my life, but I would not be where I
- 41:58Speaker 1: was if I didn't have control over my life. Says
- 42:00Speaker 1: they had to say yes to it at the end
- 42:01Speaker 1: of it and look at the products like beautiful, like
- 42:08Speaker 1: a lot of stuff. But we're not going to talk
- 42:09Speaker 1: about that.
- 42:10Speaker 4: But your aura and your energy things, guys stunning, And
- 42:15Speaker 4: so I know your mom is a huge reason for
- 42:18Speaker 4: that is a huge reason.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Because she knew she was going to be there, knew
- 42:23Speaker 2: she was going to be there, and.
- 42:24Speaker 1: She made it. I feel like a lot of sometimes
- 42:26Speaker 1: where it gets kind of like a little wishy washy
- 42:28Speaker 1: with people a little muddy wise is when my like
- 42:31Speaker 1: their parents aren't willing to take that step back back.
- 42:35Speaker 1: My mom has always trusted me. She'd make sure that
- 42:37Speaker 1: I was smart enough on my own that I could
- 42:39Speaker 1: handle myself in a room by myself. But I never
- 42:42Speaker 1: wanted to be in a room by myself because I
- 42:44Speaker 1: knew if I missed anything, if I messed up on something,
- 42:46Speaker 1: or if I didn't get clarification about something, I needed
- 42:48Speaker 1: somebody to check me. I need somebody check somebody else
- 42:50Speaker 1: for me, because I wasn't able to check somebody that
- 42:52Speaker 1: was older than me. So that was where like my
- 42:54Speaker 1: mom and I dynamic also worked really well, is because
- 42:57Speaker 1: I felt like she could be like the louder voice
- 42:59Speaker 1: of my own because I was never I I was
- 43:03Speaker 1: never gonna disrespect somebody that was older than me, but
- 43:05Speaker 1: I felt a certain way and I couldn't convey that
- 43:07Speaker 1: because I'm seven eight, like you know, I needed somebody
- 43:09Speaker 1: that was in jult to say like, hey, we're not
- 43:11Speaker 1: doing this, like that's not okay. And she made and
- 43:13Speaker 1: she exactly for sure. So I think that's where my
- 43:18Speaker 1: mom and I's relationship worked really well, and that's why
- 43:20Speaker 1: we're super close now because other people cannot say the
- 43:23Speaker 1: same in like entertainment world, which is kind of sad.
- 43:25Speaker 4: So we're gonna before we go into Abby, we have
- 43:29Speaker 4: to shout out Mama because Mama was a bodybuilt I
- 43:31Speaker 4: don't know that.
- 43:34Speaker 1: A couple of weeks ago.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Yea, Mama was out here, yeah keeating as well.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Yeah, she competed for I believe like seven seven years seven.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Unfortunately I have to say six seven years and I
- 43:45Speaker 1: didn't mean to say it like that because I'm so
- 43:47Speaker 1: over that. But yeah, six or seven years for sure.
- 43:51Speaker 1: That's how my parents originally had met, but my mom
- 43:53Speaker 1: stopped doing that and became entrepreneur in like title real estate,
- 43:57Speaker 1: had her own spa. She was an aesthetician. So that's
- 43:59Speaker 1: why I like my beauty tips and stuff. And then
- 44:02Speaker 1: just second overall, why two K Batty White ka Baddy. Honestly,
- 44:07Speaker 1: your mother has not aged, but Christy, to be honest,
- 44:10Speaker 1: she like actually does and it's kind of like no,
- 44:12Speaker 1: like she's a vampire.
- 44:15Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Was that her spot When I was younger, I'd hand
- 44:21Speaker 1: out towels, I made myself useful. She had to make
- 44:24Speaker 1: me useful do something. I love that.
- 44:26Speaker 4: So the question that I want to know, Yes, I'm
- 44:30Speaker 4: sure some viewers who watch this will want to know,
- 44:32Speaker 4: do you still have a relationship with miss Abby?
- 44:35Speaker 1: You know, the last time I spoke with Abby one
- 44:37Speaker 1: on one or personally at all was on the last
- 44:40Speaker 1: show that I was on prior to my own show.
- 44:42Speaker 1: If I'm being correctly honest, We've had like social media
- 44:45Speaker 1: interactions and things like that. I'm very appreciative of the
- 44:48Speaker 1: platforms that she had on her own that I was
- 44:50Speaker 1: able to go on to kind of make my own
- 44:52Speaker 1: personal brand and me as a person grow. I could
- 44:55Speaker 1: honestly never like thank somebody enough for that. But other
- 44:58Speaker 1: than that, I've always just wished to the best. And
- 45:00Speaker 1: we don't necessarily have a close one on one relationship anymore,
- 45:03Speaker 1: especially because a lot of the other girls don't have
- 45:05Speaker 1: that relationship there. And I ride or dive for those girls.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Even if you don't really talk all the time, I
- 45:10Speaker 1: know the struggles that they went through because I was
- 45:12Speaker 1: also an answer with them at that same time. So
- 45:15Speaker 1: I'm always going to be like their number one fans,
- 45:18Speaker 1: even if we don't talk for years at a time.
- 45:20Speaker 1: But as for her, I just like I simply have
- 45:22Speaker 1: always just wished her the best. I think her with
- 45:24Speaker 1: the things is needed, and kind of just kept it
- 45:26Speaker 1: pushing careio period. Yeah, perioderiod.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Well we'll end with that. Yeah, let's go into some games. Yeah,
- 45:32Speaker 4: we talk a little bit more about just like where
- 45:34Speaker 4: you are, Yeah, the things you're working on. Yeah, we're
- 45:37Speaker 4: gonna play a little game. Okay, so we're gonna ask you.
- 45:40Speaker 4: We're gonna keicky a little bit. We have a Kiki
- 45:43Speaker 4: over here, So Tamara was going to ask you a question,
- 45:46Speaker 4: and I low key want to answer a little bit.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Yes you should too.
- 45:48Speaker 4: That's a funny one.
- 45:49Speaker 2: So this is a game. It's called asking for a Friend.
- 45:51Speaker 5: So the question is if you had the power to
- 45:54Speaker 5: commit a crime, and that crime would never happen again,
- 45:57Speaker 5: what would it be.
- 46:00Speaker 1: It would never happen again, or you would never get
- 46:03Speaker 1: You just would steal every animal available. I would literally
- 46:08Speaker 1: have my I'd have my own Noah's Arc, Like, you
- 46:11Speaker 1: have no idea. I'm not even joking, Like that is
- 46:13Speaker 1: like the number one thing that even with my friends
- 46:15Speaker 1: when it comes to that, they know that I would
- 46:16Speaker 1: steal that, like ceiling. It would always be something that
- 46:19Speaker 1: has to do with animals, or like oh if I
- 46:21Speaker 1: can just find the one vintage store that has everything
- 46:23Speaker 1: of my dreams, that would be like just and nobody
- 46:26Speaker 1: would ever know. And they're like, how does Asia have this?
- 46:28Speaker 1: One to one like John Gilliana, Like, come on, I.
- 46:31Speaker 5: Never thought of it, but we all said steal though, girl,
- 46:37Speaker 5: I said I would still.
- 46:38Speaker 4: I said, like literally, I'm not thinking about that, no,
- 46:44Speaker 4: but like robbing vintage store.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Every go to the museum and likes seen like the
- 46:50Speaker 1: Oceans with like Rihanna and everybody, like that's what I'm
- 46:53Speaker 1: talking about. It has to be a really big high
- 46:55Speaker 1: scheme of like vintage nat I love vintage. I love
- 47:01Speaker 1: vintage things my life. I mean vintage today going and
- 47:06Speaker 1: love me.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. They have a really if you ever
- 47:09Speaker 4: come to Sacramento, they have a really good to go.
- 47:14Speaker 1: New York obviously is like my hot spot for vintages.
- 47:16Speaker 2: But I love you, Yeah, has some really good advantage places.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Yes, okay, y'all need to send me all your Yeah,
- 47:23Speaker 1: we'll send you some stuff. It's my guilty pleasure.
- 47:26Speaker 4: That's actually a great answer. We love that. Let's move
- 47:31Speaker 4: we are because look, the question asks if we could
- 47:37Speaker 4: commit a crime, this is what.
- 47:39Speaker 1: We wouldn't actually do, Like don't like make it like
- 47:45Speaker 1: the next time this happens, we're the one.
- 47:46Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying, Like it was a question, guys black.
- 47:51Speaker 4: So let's go into impersonating greatness. So we have a
- 47:56Speaker 4: signature moment on board to the game. Everyone has to
- 47:59Speaker 4: give us their best impersonation that captures their parents. So
- 48:05Speaker 4: I will love for you. You do you one for
- 48:07Speaker 4: your mom and your dad?
- 48:09Speaker 1: Okay for mom, Okay, just imagine slip back pony like
- 48:13Speaker 1: got to be glued down like a windstorm. Couldn't even
- 48:16Speaker 1: make this thing period. Hoops hoops probably bigger than this one.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I'm not gonna like hoops hoops. Obviously she'd be wearing
- 48:22Speaker 1: her diamonds too, so she have her thing. And then
- 48:24Speaker 1: she'd be like, you're not gonna mess with my daughter. Okay,
- 48:28Speaker 1: you're not gonna mess with my daughter.
- 48:29Speaker 3: No.
- 48:29Speaker 1: If Asia gets the solo this week, then Asia got
- 48:31Speaker 1: the solo this week. But Asia, you better freaking point
- 48:34Speaker 1: your toes because that's so is gonna be taken away
- 48:36Speaker 1: like that like that, it doesn't matter the choreographer. You're
- 48:38Speaker 1: not going no now that zilch like that's how my
- 48:42Speaker 1: mom talks and today or something like that. Or she'll
- 48:48Speaker 1: be like if she tells us ten minutes, she actually
- 48:50Speaker 1: means five and sore, like you better be in the
- 48:56Speaker 1: car exactly if you don't want Starbucks. If you don't
- 48:58Speaker 1: want Starbucks this morning, then I guess we all star
- 49:00Speaker 1: We all stop, then, won't we. If you don't want
- 49:02Speaker 1: to get on the car, you don't want to get
- 49:03Speaker 1: on the road, then that's your fault. That's your fault.
- 49:05Speaker 1: That's my dad. My dad's all like the calm, cold
- 49:07Speaker 1: collected ones. If it's not like literal, like posing like
- 49:10Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, he'd be like, Hi, Like
- 49:12Speaker 1: I'm sugar Sean Ray, I'm a world famous bodybuilder. Like
- 49:16Speaker 1: he talks very low when like the he's talking about
- 49:22Speaker 1: like me and my story would be like, oh yeah, Age,
- 49:24Speaker 1: she's a big personality. That one. She's a that's a
- 49:27Speaker 1: big personality. All but Bella. Oh I love sweet Bella,
- 49:31Speaker 1: Sweet Bella, this sweet belt. That's why it works because
- 49:33Speaker 1: you have.
- 49:35Speaker 4: Personality coming together.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Oh but he's like, oh my god, it's this man
- 49:39Speaker 1: in his Instagram usage. Everything on story gets a main post,
- 49:43Speaker 1: isn't that unique? It gets a what I think it's
- 49:45Speaker 1: a main post to a story post gets the main
- 49:48Speaker 1: post to my god, the bit moji goes on anything heart.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He just loves a good bit moji. He loves my dad.
- 49:59Speaker 4: It's I don't know what, I don't know what it is,
- 50:01Speaker 4: but they really think they're doing something.
- 50:03Speaker 1: It's just my dad.
- 50:05Speaker 4: His favorite is like the thumbs up one. He sends
- 50:08Speaker 4: it after every message.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Mind you and my dad text. My Dad's really unique
- 50:12Speaker 1: because it's very unique. He loves to just like he'll
- 50:15Speaker 1: ask us like, oh, like what do you need from
- 50:17Speaker 1: the store, Like, I'm coming home from the store, what
- 50:18Speaker 1: do you need from the store? Will give him a
- 50:19Speaker 1: grocery list, He'll come home and none of those things
- 50:21Speaker 1: are here. So I was like, wait, did you go
- 50:22Speaker 1: to the store. He's like, you guys didn't send me
- 50:24Speaker 1: the thing like we send in the group chat.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Oh.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Well, like your text messages ruined my storage. So I
- 50:28Speaker 1: deleted the thread. Okay, Well, now I guess we'll have
- 50:31Speaker 1: to starve. I don't know what to tell you, he said.
- 50:34Speaker 1: He's like, he's not phone.
- 50:38Speaker 3: No.
- 50:38Speaker 1: The thing is he will never delete a photo, but
- 50:41Speaker 1: anything else that will cause storage usage, you're gone. No,
- 50:48Speaker 1: he will keep all four hundred thousand photos, but he
- 50:50Speaker 1: will never do.
- 50:54Speaker 2: You better take a picture of your emergency.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he won. That's hilarious.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Love it.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Well, let's go in to our legacy object.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Yes, let's do it. Okay, so they're going to fly
- 51:06Speaker 2: it in for it.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Yeah. So we asked.
- 51:10Speaker 4: You to bring in an item, anything that you could
- 51:14Speaker 4: think of that just represents you and your legacy, and
- 51:19Speaker 4: we have let's show the camera.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Look at your hand, but.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Just tiny, but look at her.
- 51:28Speaker 2: This complete.
- 51:30Speaker 1: So I was actually trying to bring the actual outfit
- 51:33Speaker 1: because I do have it, and my mom was getting
- 51:35Speaker 1: all of my dance competition outfits like photo box, but
- 51:38Speaker 1: this one particularly is the outpha that I won my
- 51:41Speaker 1: title in. So I feel like this was kind of
- 51:43Speaker 1: the start of my dance to entertainment fame, if you will.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And so I brought this one because it really showcases
- 51:50Speaker 1: obviously the literal dance and clearly the facial expressions your
- 51:53Speaker 1: entire personality.
- 51:56Speaker 4: So this was not on dance, mom, this was.
- 51:59Speaker 1: A dance competition act. So I was like five, Yeah,
- 52:01Speaker 1: it was five when I got the title. So this
- 52:04Speaker 1: was right before au d C. This was actually the
- 52:06Speaker 1: dance competition like dance that made me get on that
- 52:10Speaker 1: show that they saw on YouTube.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and Honey them tells his pointed.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I saw my mom in.
- 52:16Speaker 1: The corner exactly. And this one was my p y
- 52:23Speaker 1: T Michael Jackson solo, which is my favorite. I got
- 52:26Speaker 1: the song and Michael Jackson is my hypa. I love him,
- 52:30Speaker 1: so this was great. I can see, Yeah, I love
- 52:34Speaker 1: that little me. I feel like I kind of look
- 52:36Speaker 1: the same Loki now that I look at it. I mean,
- 52:39Speaker 1: the cheeks went away, it's just ti cheekbones.
- 52:42Speaker 4: No, you just again looking at that, I'm like, this
- 52:45Speaker 4: is how I was introduced to you.
- 52:49Speaker 1: My mom always sad. She's like, I hope you have
- 52:51Speaker 1: a daughter just like you, so you can see all
- 52:52Speaker 1: the pain winder. I hope I have a daughter. That's
- 52:55Speaker 1: great so much you have a son. So you're like,
- 52:58Speaker 1: I haven't had my Would you have an other one?
- 53:00Speaker 4: Oh gosh, yes, I tell my husband I want at
- 53:03Speaker 4: least one more.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Daughter.
- 53:05Speaker 1: You know, you send her the camp. I am Camp Christie.
- 53:08Speaker 3: I am.
- 53:11Speaker 4: You set me a bag and then the back of
- 53:13Speaker 4: my head, so I'm gonna be walking away.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Literally.
- 53:15Speaker 1: One of my good friends is she's having a girl,
- 53:17Speaker 1: and she's like, can I send it to Camp Christie?
- 53:18Speaker 1: And I was like, well yeah, Camp Christie capitalized Christy,
- 53:23Speaker 1: I said, by the time she's five, she'll have investment properties.
- 53:28Speaker 6: Chris car.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Taking her advice, I need to take a dollar. She chooses.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I'm speaking very willing.
- 53:42Speaker 4: So Asia, what legacy are you building on your own terms?
- 53:47Speaker 4: And just what are you up to these days? Like
- 53:49Speaker 4: what are you working on?
- 53:50Speaker 1: Well, right now, I'm working on like a really really
- 53:53Speaker 1: exciting project that is like super close to my heart
- 53:56Speaker 1: that will be coming like the mid of this year,
- 53:58Speaker 1: so I can't say too much on that, but like,
- 54:00Speaker 1: this one is definitely something I put a lot of
- 54:02Speaker 1: time and consideration into and I think you guys will
- 54:05Speaker 1: once it comes out, I'll have to come back and
- 54:07Speaker 1: show yeah, oh yes, But I'm really really excited for
- 54:11Speaker 1: that one. And of course music music. The last time,
- 54:14Speaker 1: I mean, I dropped my album now going on like
- 54:16Speaker 1: a year ago, but it had a really really great
- 54:18Speaker 1: response and it really made people realize who I was
- 54:21Speaker 1: as an artist in an R and B soul world,
- 54:23Speaker 1: which I'm very excited to obviously continue to sing in.
- 54:27Speaker 1: That's my genre of choice always, like I love me
- 54:30Speaker 1: some R and B soul. So now we're currently working
- 54:32Speaker 1: on another project and people are like, oh my god,
- 54:34Speaker 1: drop the album. Drop the album. I was like, guys,
- 54:35Speaker 1: give me a second, Like it takes some time. We
- 54:37Speaker 1: just talked about how I can have to re record everything. Yeah,
- 54:40Speaker 1: so that is something I'm definitely working on, and just
- 54:42Speaker 1: like honestly being happy, I want to travel more. I
- 54:44Speaker 1: want to do more things. I want to spend more
- 54:46Speaker 1: time with the people that are closest to me, and
- 54:48Speaker 1: I love that It's been so much fun and enjoyable,
- 54:50Speaker 1: especially when I can I take those times because I
- 54:53Speaker 1: think before, if I had a day off, I wouldn't
- 54:54Speaker 1: think of just taking a quick trip somewhere. But now
- 54:56Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, like a little trip to
- 54:58Speaker 1: Santa Barbara wouldn't hurt trip to go here, there and wherever.
- 55:01Speaker 1: So I've been really enjoying that. But right now, full
- 55:04Speaker 1: focus on my exciting project and music. So that's a
- 55:08Speaker 1: lot of cool things happening in twenty twenty. So who
- 55:10Speaker 1: would be a dream collab with your music? Oh my gosh, Okay,
- 55:13Speaker 1: So I have many. I really do have many. So
- 55:15Speaker 1: I have like a mini list, I have a dead
- 55:17Speaker 1: and alive Okay, Okay, the obviously past list would have
- 55:23Speaker 1: been Michael Jackson, Luther vandros Whitney Houston when thous and
- 55:28Speaker 1: percent like those are my top three, like off rip
- 55:30Speaker 1: like immediately, and then obviously I would love to collaborate
- 55:33Speaker 1: with Mariah Carey, Tony Braxton, anything to do with Babyface,
- 55:37Speaker 1: like just quite literally, he's given away so many incredible songs.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Can he give one away to me?
- 55:43Speaker 4: Like, just give it out, say it out didn't exist?
- 55:46Speaker 1: Yeah, no, absolutely, of course I can't Obviously, I have
- 55:48Speaker 1: to obviously say Beyonce because that's how I grew up
- 55:50Speaker 1: with loving Beyonce, and I saw her CONCERCT four times
- 55:53Speaker 1: this year. It was k crazy but all like the
- 55:57Speaker 1: list could go on, but those, I'd say it would
- 55:59Speaker 1: be my quickket top few.
- 56:01Speaker 2: So how would you describe your music?
- 56:02Speaker 1: Definitely arm B Soul two thousands, nineties inspired one thousand percent.
- 56:07Speaker 1: I speak all about own personal experiences of mine, if
- 56:10Speaker 1: not things that I'm currently going through. Anytime I have
- 56:12Speaker 1: a problem, everyone knows, I'm like, Okay, you're getting written about.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Let me just like cause me. If you're getting written about,
- 56:19Speaker 1: everything is getting writen about, and it's all in my notes,
- 56:21Speaker 1: if not in my notebook something like that. So I
- 56:23Speaker 1: feel like the next project that I do, to an
- 56:25Speaker 1: extent of an album is going to be even more
- 56:27Speaker 1: personal than the last one. It's gonna be a lot
- 56:29Speaker 1: more direct. And now that I'm older, you know, I
- 56:31Speaker 1: could say some more things that are on my chest
- 56:34Speaker 1: if you will. Absolutely, but I'm really excited for that one,
- 56:36Speaker 1: especially now since I do have like really full control
- 56:39Speaker 1: and full rain over my vision of how people see me.
- 56:41Speaker 1: And that's the reason I've stayed independent for so long
- 56:44Speaker 1: is because so many people wanted to kind of dive
- 56:46Speaker 1: into that dance pop world of things. And as much
- 56:49Speaker 1: as I love the pop genre and respect for so
- 56:52Speaker 1: many artists in that genre, army soul is where it's
- 56:54Speaker 1: out for me. It's always been that way for me,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and I love that. And so now being able to
- 56:58Speaker 1: do that to the fullest extent that I can and
- 57:00Speaker 1: be able to be in rooms with people that I
- 57:01Speaker 1: never thought i'd be in rooms with is incredibly exciting.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Well, I'm excited because I'm an R and B person.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I love R and B.
- 57:10Speaker 5: Like recently, just like it's been falling off, but I
- 57:13Speaker 5: feel like there's been a there's it's reviving and it's
- 57:15Speaker 5: coming back.
- 57:16Speaker 1: So many people in that genre too. I mean, you
- 57:18Speaker 1: got your scissors, you got your something else. I'm so happy, Yes, amazing.
- 57:23Speaker 4: You are just a natural born star, so I already
- 57:26Speaker 4: know that you're bright. Your future is so bright. Voices
- 57:31Speaker 4: going out, But I do want to end by asking you,
- 57:35Speaker 4: what do you want people to remember you as? Oh?
- 57:38Speaker 1: What do I want people to remember me as? Hmmm?
- 57:44Speaker 1: Someone who was so committed and dedicated to their craft
- 57:47Speaker 1: and loved it through and through. I don't want to
- 57:49Speaker 1: ever ever have somebody think that I was forced to
- 57:51Speaker 1: do this. This was all on my own accord and
- 57:55Speaker 1: the legacies as the people I've mentioned that have passed
- 57:58Speaker 1: on that I would want to collaborate with. When you
- 58:00Speaker 1: hear about those things, social media didn't exist. Yeah, people
- 58:03Speaker 1: weren't worried about what somebody was commenting on their photos
- 58:05Speaker 1: or worried about doing the next TikTok trying to hear
- 58:07Speaker 1: it there, and they were just so engulfed in their
- 58:09Speaker 1: craft that people would swarm hotels if they heard they
- 58:11Speaker 1: were even staying there. Like to have that level of
- 58:14Speaker 1: just importance in your craft. Are being so good at
- 58:17Speaker 1: what you're doing is how what I'm striving to be.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I want to be at that level where I can
- 58:21Speaker 1: put my phone away and definitely I don't want to
- 58:23Speaker 1: ever touch social media a get And as much as
- 58:24Speaker 1: it has opened so many doors for me and I've
- 58:27Speaker 1: grown so many new fan bases in so many different
- 58:29Speaker 1: places because of it. Having that international fame and success
- 58:34Speaker 1: as your Michael Jackson's, your Witneys, your Louther's, your the
- 58:37Speaker 1: list goes on, That's what I'm striving for to be
- 58:39Speaker 1: respected in my own genre outside of the social media
- 58:42Speaker 1: world of things, and just to always know that my
- 58:45Speaker 1: vision and what I am doing is something that I
- 58:47Speaker 1: stuck with and something that I've planned out, something that
- 58:49Speaker 1: I've done where I can never say somebody told me so,
- 58:52Speaker 1: and that's why I'm mad it didn't turn out this way.
- 58:54Speaker 1: If something happens and there's a mistake made and it's
- 58:56Speaker 1: on me, then it's on me, and I work on
- 58:58Speaker 1: how we can fix that, how the next time I
- 58:59Speaker 1: can make it better. But I think just through and
- 59:01Speaker 1: through overall, just to make sure and remind myself to
- 59:03Speaker 1: always just stay happy in doing it, because I think
- 59:05Speaker 1: once I know I've made it, it's just like happiness
- 59:08Speaker 1: and being content and just like on my future farm
- 59:11Speaker 1: in like Homo.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. Yeah.
- 59:15Speaker 1: They have those little joys and every day little giggles,
- 59:19Speaker 1: something small, you know, just something not take life too seriously.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I've taken life that pass you way too long. Yeah,
- 59:25Speaker 1: So it's great just have a little kiki and giggle
- 59:27Speaker 1: and just have moments like this because even like this,
- 59:29Speaker 1: it becomes not working for you. Guys when you start
- 59:30Speaker 1: talking to people and learning about their lives or things
- 59:33Speaker 1: you find things that you can relate to or just
- 59:35Speaker 1: it's just fun. And it's like you can have fun
- 59:37Speaker 1: doing these things, you know, and not everything has to
- 59:39Speaker 1: be so hard and serious.
- 59:40Speaker 3: You know.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Well, Asia, you are an inspiration to us as adults.
- 59:45Speaker 4: You are inspiration to other young girls who are becoming
- 59:49Speaker 4: and evolving and growing into who they are and who
- 59:51Speaker 4: they are called to be. And Tamara and I wish
- 59:55Speaker 4: you nothing but the best, and we're gonna be rooting for.
- 59:58Speaker 1: You anytime you need me. Guys back. Oh my gosh,

- 1:00:08Speaker 1: guess the only thing I could say is something unexpected. Unexpected? Yes,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: like you'll get it when you get it, girl.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Well, we can't wait, honey, I'm so excited. So we
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: have fun today, Yes, it was. It was a great conversation.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: So well we have before we leave. We have a
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: little surprise for you. We want to show you.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Oh my father, beanie, what is this?
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: I love that?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Wait, let me turn the volume up.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Is it here?
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Is it up?
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I think?
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Is it up?
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Hey?
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: Asia, this is your dad. I know we already know that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: I am so proud of you. I wanted to make
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: this video because maybe I don't say it enough. I
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: think it all the time as you fly all across
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: the country and produce your music, and you're working on
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: your brand, and you're doing your influencing, and you graduated
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: from dancing and acting and high school and straight a student.
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: I mean, you're doing it all exactly how I would
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: have wanted before you were ever Asian monet, and I
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: just wanted you to hear you say those words about
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: how proud you make me as I continue to do
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: my travels looking at the things that you're doing, watching
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: your growth, watching your inspiration.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: It's it's nothing short of amazing.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: You are exactly the human being I wanted you to
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: turn out to be. And you make me and your
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: mom so proud, and you're a great role model to
