- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:06where we left off with the Leslie Groff interview with
- 0:11Congress question by mister Krishna Morthy. Now, thank you. I'm
- 0:19Raja Christina Morthy from Illinois. Look. I presume that if
- 0:22Jeffrey Epstein ever asked you to arrange a massage with
- 0:25an underage person or a minor, you would have objected,
- 0:28right Ms Groff, Yes, question. And I also presume that
- 0:33if Epstein asked you to contact a minor or underage
- 0:35person to set up an appointment, you would have said
- 0:38something or objected right. Answer absolutely, chrysnal Morti. Okay, let
- 0:45me introduce you to Exhibit G. Can you please share
- 0:47that with miss Groff. I'll just show you a couple
- 0:50of emails that we found that have your name on
- 0:52them and they're with a couple of different people. I'm
- 0:55going to direct your attention to the first page of
- 0:57the stack. It has the Bates number EFTA and it
- 1:01ends with it's our one zero zero seven four four
- 1:05two seven zero and it says from Leslie Groff to redacted, Hello,
- 1:11redacted hope you're having a nice weekend. Jeffrey will be
- 1:14in town on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and would like
- 1:17to see you. Might you have some time, please let
- 1:19me know, Leslie. Question you see that right at the
- 1:23bottom of the chain, Graf. Uh huh question Okay, and
- 1:27then redacted response, dear Leslie, thank you for your email.
- 1:30What about tomorrow evening? Would you have some time? You
- 1:34see that email, right, Graf yes, question and then you respond, Actually,
- 1:39Tuesday evening work for you? Anytime after six pm? You
- 1:43see that email, right, Graf, I do question. And then
- 1:46the last email in the chain Tuesday, I'm at school
- 1:49till ten pm. We have orchestra rehearsal for the concert
- 1:53on Friday. Now, at that moment when you receive that email,
- 1:57did you believe that this person was not an underage
- 1:59person or a minor? Graf. I would not have suspected
- 2:03at all that this would be an underage person or
- 2:06a minor. Krishnal Morthy. So it's your testimony today that
- 2:10you would have not suspected that this person is an
- 2:12underage person or a minor. When that person responds that
- 2:16they have orchestra rehearsal in the evening in your response
- 2:19to your question about whether they're available, right, that's your testimony, Graf. Yes,
- 2:24kryshnal Morthy, and you're under oath Graff. Yes. And look
- 2:28not for me to jump in here and give Epstein
- 2:30any kind of defense. But what if that woman that
- 2:33they're talking about, or a girl, was in college and
- 2:36she was of age. Now, look that doesn't matter if
- 2:38she was being abused, right, But we have to be
- 2:41particular and we have to make sure that we're using
- 2:44the right terminology and we're putting people in the right categories.
- 2:52Krishnal Morthy. Let me just turn your attention to another
- 2:55page in the document, which is another email. Okay, it
- 2:58has bait stamp. It's the third page in the stack
- 3:01EFTA underscore R one zero zero six one five eight
- 3:06five eight. Do you see that, ms Graff, I do,
- 3:09kryshnal morty. Okay, let me start this text this email
- 3:12chain again. It says, and this is from Monday December.
- 3:16I'm sorry, Sunday December thirteenth at six oh five pm,
- 3:20twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, So fourteen years into your tenure,
- 3:25Hi redacted, Jeffrey will be in New York this week
- 3:28and is asking if you could come see him on
- 3:30Tuesday after work five thirty. Do you see that? Ms? Groff?
- 3:34Uh huh question okay? Redacted or response, Hello, Leslie, I
- 3:39have school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Do you see that?
- 3:42You respond? Uh? Okay? How about tomorrow day? Do you
- 3:45see that? Graff? I do questions? Miss Groff? She says,
- 3:50I'm working eight thirty to five thirty and school six
- 3:53to nine. At that moment when you saw that, it's
- 3:55your testimony that you did not believe that this person
- 3:58was either underage or a minor. Correct Miss Groff, correct
- 4:03question okay, and you respond you're a busy girl. I'll
- 4:06let Jeffrey know. Thanks. So it's your testimony that when
- 4:10you're sending out these emails and people respond to you
- 4:12that they're in school or that they have orchestra rehearsal,
- 4:15that you believe that they're not a miner or an
- 4:17underage person. That is your testimony today, right, Miss Groff,
- 4:21That is correct. Krishnal Morty, you're under oath, Miss Groff, Yes,
- 4:25that is correct. Chrysnal Morthy. You want us to believe
- 4:29that after eighteen years working in the employ of mister Epstein.
- 4:32That not on one occasion did you believe that any
- 4:35of your contacts in setting up these appointments with Jeffrey
- 4:38Epstein were with either a miner or an underage person. Correct,
- 4:42Miss Groff, That is correct, krishnal Morthy, And that we
- 4:46should believe that it was reasonable for you to think
- 4:49that none of these people were under age, Miss Groff.
- 4:52That is correct, krishnal Morty. Okay, this strange credibility, Miss Graff,
- 4:56I yield back. Garcia, thank you, Miss Groff. I have
- 4:59a up questions. I just want to go back real
- 5:02briefly to something that my colleague just said. So these
- 5:05conversations that he pointed out for these emails, they happened
- 5:08after Epstein's conviction. Is that correct? Answer? Correct question. So
- 5:13it never crossed your mind after a conviction of an
- 5:16obviously very horrific crime against an underage woman, that these
- 5:19interactions that you were having with other women that were
- 5:22talking about school orchestra practice never raised any concern to you,
- 5:27Miss Groff. No, Garcia, So not once were you concerned
- 5:31after knowing that Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of abuse of
- 5:33a minor, that you had any sort of concerns that
- 5:36you were having conversations with other women who were talking
- 5:39about school and orchestra practice. Is that correct? Is that
- 5:42your testimony? Ms Groff, that's my testimony. I never saw
- 5:46anything inappropriate, Miss Whitcombs, she answered the question ms Groff. Yes,
- 5:50mister Garcia, you never saw anything. But Jeffrey had been
- 5:54convicted already and you knew that information, correct, ms Groff,
- 5:58I did question. Okay, I just want to go back
- 6:01to something else, Thank you, so, mims Groff, I just
- 6:04want to go back to something that was asked earlier.
- 6:06I know you had mentioned that you had arranged multiple
- 6:09phone conversations with Donald Trump, not the president yet of course,
- 6:12and mister Epstein. And then just for the record, again,
- 6:16you did connect them by phone a few times, correct,
- 6:19miss Groff? Correct? Question was that more than five times?
- 6:23More than ten times? Do you have any idea how
- 6:25many times you connected them by phone? Ms Groff. I
- 6:28don't know how often I connected them. There would be
- 6:31I said once a quarter maybe, or twice. If Epstein
- 6:34was in town and he wanted to speak to mister Trump,
- 6:37it might take me four or five times. To get
- 6:39the two of them on the phone. But I don't
- 6:41know how often that really occurred, miss Garcia. Mister Garcia,
- 6:45and it's safe to say that you could have done
- 6:47it multiple times a year, Graff, Yes question, Okay, so
- 6:51multiple times a year over a period of ten years.
- 6:54Ms Graff, Yeah, I don't really recall when they stopped talking, Garcia.
- 7:00And then did you also arrange any meetings between mister
- 7:03Epstein and mister Trump separate of just phone calls? Miss Groff,
- 7:06it's possible. I don't recall anything offhand, mister Garcia, Okay,
- 7:10but it's possible that you could have arranged meetings, but
- 7:12you don't recall if there was a meeting. Did you
- 7:15arrange any services from mister Trump that mister Epstein was
- 7:18providing separate of a phone call or a meeting? Ms Groff,
- 7:21no question. Would you characterize our friendship as a friendship? Answer?
- 7:26I really don't know what the relationship was. I didn't
- 7:29hear them speaking. I don't know, Garcia, because Epstein has
- 7:32characterized it as a friendship. In fact, mister Epstein said
- 7:36that he considered them actually best friends for a period
- 7:39of ten years. Have you heard that in the media
- 7:41or anything else before. Ms Groff, I have not questioned
- 7:45and Miss Groff, earlier, when we ask you about mister
- 7:48Epstein's relationship with Les Wexner, you were willing to provide
- 7:51your opinion that there were friends as well as business partners.
- 7:55So to the Congressman's question, how would you characterize a
- 7:58relationship of mister Trump and Epstein, Miss Graff, I mean,
- 8:02I suppose they were friendly. I don't know if they
- 8:04had any business going on. That wasn't something that I asked.
- 8:08That's not something I discussed with mister Epstein or mister Trump,
- 8:12So I don't really know. It's possible that they were friendly, Garcia,
- 8:16even though you connected them multiple times a year by
- 8:19phone and possibly for meetings that you're not aware of, correct, Graf, Yes,
- 8:24I don't know what they discussed or what the meetings
- 8:26were for. It's possible they were friendly. It's possible they
- 8:29spoke business. I don't know what it's about, Garcia. Did
- 8:33you ever see a photo of mister Epstein and mister
- 8:35Trump on mister Epstein's desk, Graf, I don't know. Question
- 8:39you don't because I know you worked right outside of
- 8:41his office, Graef, I did question, did you oftentimes go
- 8:45inside mister Epstein's office, Graf. I would go in his
- 8:48office after he would leave to pick up the garbage
- 8:50that he threw on the floor and put it in
- 8:52the trash can. I didn't go in there very often, Garcia.
- 8:56But after working for him for eighteen years, in a
- 8:58different period of time, in different locations, you don't recall
- 9:01what photos may have been on his desk, Miss Groff.
- 9:05It's been too long ago. I don't know. He did
- 9:07have photos of important people on his desk with them
- 9:10and important people, mister Garcia, but you never heard it
- 9:13reported that he had a photo. I mean, it's been
- 9:15widely reported by every major news outlet that he had
- 9:19a photo of President Trump on his desk. I know
- 9:22that you worked in his office. You don't recall or
- 9:24never heard that there was a photo of President Trump
- 9:27on his desk. Groff. It's very possible that there was,
- 9:30but I don't recall seeing an actual photo per se
- 9:33with mister Trump, Garcia, and don't recall hearing in the
- 9:37media apparently, right, Miss Groff, I don't question, okay, no,
- 9:40I appreciate that. Are you familiar with the birthday book?
- 9:43That was provided to mister Ebstein for his birthday. That's
- 9:46been widely reported, Miss Groff. I am now after his
- 9:50death and I've heard about that. Yes, Garcia, but during
- 9:54your employment, you were not involved or aware or made
- 9:57any sort of inquiries about the book at the time,
- 10:00Miss Maxwell. Project, Is that correct? Groff? Correct? From what
- 10:03I understand? Question and you have no information about the
- 10:06book or its creation? Answer that is correct. Question. Would
- 10:10it be possible at the time Miss Maxwell's assistant or
- 10:13anyone else you think could have been involved in the
- 10:15process of that book besides miss Maxwell Groff, I don't know.
- 10:19It's possible she could have had an assistant help her
- 10:22with something, but I don't know. I wasn't involved in that,
- 10:25but it wouldn't be unlikely that someone might have been
- 10:27helping her. Question just last before I turn it back,
- 10:31I just want to go back because I think it's
- 10:32an important point that's been brought up. You know, it's
- 10:36difficult to understand how, after knowing what Jeffrey Epstein had
- 10:39done and up to a minor that you would continue
- 10:42to set up appointments with other young women, other women
- 10:45to mister Epstein and not ever once doubt that there
- 10:48could be something happening in those moments. You never thought that,
- 10:54you completely regardless of what happened. Again, I'll give you
- 10:56another opportunity to explain it, but you never once had
- 10:59any debt out that there could be something there happening
- 11:02to these women, Miss Groff. At the time, I felt
- 11:05like everyone in the office he was lying to, and
- 11:08he was a very good liar and a very good manipulator,
- 11:10and he brushed things under the rug. He led me
- 11:13to believe that the accusations were false. And when I
- 11:17looked around, everybody who was so smart, all his business associates,
- 11:21all his Garcia continue Groff, Yeah, all his associates remain
- 11:25friends with them, you know, kept meeting with them, et cetera. Garcia,
- 11:31Ms Groff. You also admit, though, that you know he
- 11:33pleaded guilty, Miss Groff. Yes, Garcia, so he pleaded guilty,
- 11:38that he was guilty of the crime. Yet you still
- 11:40didn't believe that, Plea Groff. I believe that he was tricked.
- 11:44It was something. It was not his fault. It was
- 11:46tricked and it was a big scheme. Garcia. Okay, thank you,
- 11:52thank you, miss Groff. We will stop here for clarity
- 11:55for the record. We had questions from Representative Bell and
- 11:58also representative of Talib who did previously who didn't previously
- 12:03introduce themselves into the record. We'll now go off the record,
- 12:06all right, So that means we're gonna wrap up as well,
- 12:10and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 12:12gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
- 12:15that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 12:18description box.
