- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to another edition of the Social Pro podcast, I'm Ellie Fein, incredible people out of doing incredible things and entrepreneurial space people who live off of their own ideas.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: They wake up and get to it every single day.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: And today is no different man.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: I am excited about this conversation.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: For one, the word tax gives me anxiety.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: First off.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: But you are a tax professional, and you teach people how to run a business in the tax professional business.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: So go ahead and introduce yourself, then we're going to talk.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: So my name is Weston Hill.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the CEO of the tax business.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: And what we do is we help tax professionals start their own profitable tax business.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: We also show them how to start their own profitable tax software company as well.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: So real quick, you have your own tax business, right?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: OK.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to put that out there because so it's almost like
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: When people do something well, or they do something, and it's not really done well, or they don't do it anymore, they stop the business and they start teaching it, which I think I often have a problem with, because one, if you're not doing it,
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you telling other people to do it?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: If it's not such a great idea why don't you just do it, right?
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: So but you are still running your tax business and you're teaching other people how to do it, which makes sense because it's another stream and I'm sure you get the calls on a time like bro, how'd you do that at your root?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: So tell me about the tax business itself.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like what is how long you've been doing it?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's some of the revenue if you can answer that?
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: What is that?
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I've been doing taxes for ten years.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've been doing taxes for fifteen years.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: After my tenth year I started my own tax software company.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: But every year, you know, in the tax industry, my first year I was able to generate two hundred and fifty two thousand dollars.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: First year.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the big reasons why because I had a mentor that showed me every step of the way.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: So he already made it like one point five million.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: He showed me the blueprint.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just fogged exactly what he said.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I was able to generate two hundred and fifty two thousand dollars in my first year.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: No, the only thing I'm out of on a revenue share deal the first.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I got forty percent of that two hundred and fifty two thousand dollars.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: But that was important because I wouldn't have made that.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: edition.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I still made six figures.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but that was important.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: He, I didn't mind because of that.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: He was showing me every step of the way.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna provide more of the tools, resources.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: So he teaches you, says, I'll show you, but you gotta get me, it's forty percent.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: You make forty or he makes it.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: He made sixty.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I made forty.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: You made forty working for him?
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, under his company.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, under his company.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: How long do you stay under his company?
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: I stay under his company for three years.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Three years.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Did you make about the same amount of money all three years?
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: All three years.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Every year, it increased by like ten to twenty thousand dollars, but I stayed around the same amount.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: And what happened that fourth year?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a fourth year I branched out of my own and I started my own company because he gave us an option where you could stay with him or you can branch out on your own and I started my own company my fourth year.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: So he gets no percentage of that company though.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let me ask this question.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a really important question.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: How hard was it you coming from under that umbrella, right?
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure at that time, he was giving you clients to do this.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he gave us all the tools, resources, like, say, for instance, if he looked at the business, hey, to operate this business on the cost of a hundred thousand dollars, right?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, he would fund everything for us, you know, then we would split after.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Say back then, I think about forty thousand dollars.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So when you made that two fifty, he would take his forty thousand.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think you put down like five.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: And we, so we hit the profit first, whatever he took, whatever he spent, he replaced, he took that profit, you know, what he invested.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then after that, we split the rest forty.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's a signal for him.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's a smart man.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: First year that fourth year when you go on your own, what was that like?
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: It was actually one of the reasons I went to him because I was driving like an hour away every morning.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: For three years, I drive an hour away every morning.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'll stand like working at eighteen hour days and that man's getting ready.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, it's it's get difficult.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: There was this just during the seasons, just during taxing.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: So four months straight, I would drive an hour to morning.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I would, you know, work for like eighteen hours drive back.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I would actually sleep in the office, you know, and I was so tired when I came back, you know, what I was just trying to grind in, you know, make sure the business is running properly.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I saw opportunity where I had opportunity to drive like ten or fifteen minutes away.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I took that opportunity because at the time a part of going on your own yet to be a certain idea is from that office location.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go on your own, so
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: How much did you make your first year going out on your own?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: I made around the same month, but it was a hundred percent profit.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like the two-fifty, yes.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was, I could have, if I were to stay in that hour-way I would have made more, but a lot of clients didn't transition.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, hour-way.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: I had this while I had to rebuild.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: So you had to build from scratch?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'd build from scratch again.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably got about.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: Thirty percent of the clients, but we didn't have all the tools like the online resources that you have like in two thousand and fourteen that you have like where you did like a lot of things done in the office now you can do a lot of stuff virtually.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: So culture and not having those options kind of put me in the position where people didn't want to drive our way just to get their taxes.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: So now what is the revenue of your tax business?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: So my entire tax business, the tax business, our business does over a million dollars every year.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you transition to having your own, you built, you built the software.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: why white labor sauce.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: White labor software built the brand around it.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then you offer that to other tax professionals.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Making it easy for them to build their own business.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I would imagine they just pay you for the software, but you also get a percentage of what they make.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I get a small percentage.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I get between seven to fifty four dollars off of each
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: That ain't sixty percent because your bets are always going crazy with that sixty percent.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: But now I'm doing we did thirty-three thousand tax returns last year.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Thirty-three thousand tax returns.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you're getting seven to fifty-four dollars above these tax returns.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just give me a minute.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Just give me a minute.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you did.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Thirty-three thousand tax returns.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Not by myself.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Your software.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Your software.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Thirty-three thousand tax returns.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Tax returns.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: And you may have been doing seven to fifty-four dollars.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: So some tax returns that makes seven dollars.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: I made fifteen.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's just me.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Go order for a light little twenty.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's six hundred and sixty thousand dollars without you doing one tax return.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: And for me, I don't do texture turns anymore.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I have a team that does it.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: So this is my, this is actually my first year I didn't do one texture and I have a higher.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I have a team of three people during tax season that do all of the texture turns.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and this money is within like a four or five month window, right?
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's crazy.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: So you can earn that from January to like a hundred and twenty days.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: First, we'll most of you.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: How hard is it for somebody to get in the tax?
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Nella, let's say Nella wants to do taxes, she's inspired.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: How hard is it for her to make a hundred thousand dollars during tax season?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: It all depends on your work ethic and also your budget is well too.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: So some people start it's really simple to get into because the requirements are really simple.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: All you need is something what's called a PT number.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's what pair identification number and an EFIN.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: We become an authorized EPA operator.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: So it's really simple to get in.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: And the PT is nineteen bucks and the EFIN is free.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: So once you have those two requirements and you can get a CNEI and I'm going to start your tax business.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: But the next part of it all depends on how much you have to invest and work at it, right?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because I've seen some people that didn't have a lot to invest, but they probably invested.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: five hundred books into ten thousand flyers.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I teach a technique that outside marketing where you walk up to people and get names and numbers.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that's basically talking to people in the community and say, hey, look, I file taxes.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Come off as you can get a free quote.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: I have a script for you.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: And you schedule appointments like them.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Just talk to people in the community.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I've seen people do that method and get two to three clients per day.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and because if you do the math on it, if you do it one client per day,
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, hundred and five five days.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's a significant amount of income.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: You can charge anywhere from four hundred to five hundred and fifty dollars for a simple tax return.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: So if you do one client per day, you know, you can still make for you to fifty thousand dollars in the first four months a year.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, y'all want to start a little tax business here.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just run a little.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just, no, I'm just, you can say no, but I'm just saying, if we just had, we turned one of these rooms and said a little, that one right there until a little tax office, we bring people in.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the people leave their tax person, like if I made a post and I was like, yo, I'm going to a tax right now, social proof tax firm or whatever.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: The people have, like, this trust where, like, I'm not leaving.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to leave horizon for Timo.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: It just sounds like two have you on my left.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: But our people that dedicated to their tax person that they don't want to leave or the people like you, I'll just give you my taxes, whatever money I'm good.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Most people don't leave all the pins on your customer service.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: And your communication after tax is not teased at its world, too.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: So how long will your customers if everybody got their tax people?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: what you offer in different incentives, you market, you educate, it's all depends on education.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're getting your taxes done by someone and I educate you on how you can save more money, that's the opportunity for me to say, let me give you a shot.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I can get you extra five hundred to extra thousand dollars legally.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, you're more educated in my prepare.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: So you put marketing about that.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: So you're like, hey, you might
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: about some marketing like let me teach how you can save a thousand dollars on taxes.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you run ads and you.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: I got it.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so look, hear me out.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hear me out.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: Are you listening to him?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hear me out.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Are we good?
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Are you listening?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I'm thinking.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: We create a little tax education show.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: We only need fifty two topics.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: We create content and we start putting out in the company, the tax company,
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, markets, the new business.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: We've created a bunch of content from it.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then I think people would trust us to come, teach them not only how to get more money, but also maybe we teach like the entrepreneurial side like, yo, this is what you should do with your tax money was show you how to invest it, show you how to flip it into something.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe every client gets into morning meet up.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: It helped him.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, he'd be giving me that.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this looks bruh.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: She just be.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: She don't be with it, right?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: But in reality, the reason is a laying for, you know, you're called like I started, you know, my entrepreneurship journey when I wanted to text software company on your morning meetup call.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me more.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I, I was walking in my wife or watching a video from Neo Davis and I was kind of like,
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was looking this call on, man.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he, what is he selling?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's selling.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, what's the product?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's selling it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, we're like, he says selling information.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I say, well, how could I just, how could you sell information?
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see like a physical product.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: So he's like, I'm teaching people how to start their own event space, but I'm like, well, where is the package?
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's a box or I've been just teaching you how to do it.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I want this journey for about like six months.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of product could I create?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought about them like, wow, I can just start my own tax offer company.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: And back then, I didn't know that you could white label tax offer where you can purchase to license and you can put your logo on it.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: So what I did was I started calling people, hey, could you create my own tax offer?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And gentlemen, pull me to the sidelight man, you can become something that you call a service bro.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: And you can white label us off where you can start your own tax offer company.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: So what I did was I got, I went to Walgreens and I got like a black notebook.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I just started writing out the game plan and notebook, just writing out everything.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: So when I decided which company I went with here like, man, you already got this all built out.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, let's just go everything's already built out.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: The idea is there, color logo and just move forward.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: I started having success in Mealy.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: One reason why I had success in Mealy because I had been a tax professional for ten years.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of people come in and they're like they're expecting the same results, but they didn't put the work in as far as, you know, I just was sharing the knowledge that I have for you.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you're on the morning meetup, which is a major piece of this.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: The morning meetup gave me confidence.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, right?
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm behind us because I saw so many people.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's okay because first you don't really know like okay my good or like where am I you know so I'm listening to the call my okay this is pretty cool You know a lot of entrepreneurs I think like people ask you question it in
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, like I'm not, I'm not at the beginning stages, I can get to the next level.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm here, you know, some people are, I just started now.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I knew a lot of things that I didn't realize that I knew.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, okay, you know what?
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that led me to like, going to your event, you know, and going to like different events that you were having and, you know, and it opened that world to like entrepreneurs you're brought in the land, you know, so I started once a lot of events.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Incredible, bro.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so, do you think about it at least?
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think, and I think I was thinking about this last year, man, starting the tax business.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know people need, and a lot of people don't care where they get the taxes done.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: They go to Turbo Tax, they go to Walmart, they be having a little thing at Walmart, right?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: They have to, they may have the Turbo Tax instead of a Walmart.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you get taxes?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you get taxes?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: You do your own taxes?
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, ours are.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have to?
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, who do you always have to?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let me just, all right, let me just stay away from that question.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: But okay, so I know, I know for a fact starting a tax business is a very lucrative business and if I'm being honest,
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of things that I made a little list of the things that I would do if I wasn't doing what I'm going to do right now.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: If I was still working at the cheesecake factory, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do at my time in my money.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't be a T-shirt brand.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't be nothing like that.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: It would, I would want a hundred percent pick up a camera.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: I learned how to create content.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: But on that list is doing taxes because there's a window where you can run a bag up, simply by asking people
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: who does the taxes?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, let me just do your taxes and I can assist you, right?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think people are trusting in that way.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: But you offer not only, you can teach me how to start a tax business, right?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm really interested in is, you're teaching me how to create my own tax software.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm excited about.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: So tell me more about that.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: What we do is, normally, what we like to do is we like to kind of take you through that growth process where, like, become a tax professional for us so you can get the experience.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: So what I do is I provide all the tools, resource, I provide the education, I have our own online course, you know, partner with.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: a company called Latino Tax Professional as well, where we deal with your past professionals.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: But Aaron California is an education company.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: I partner with him.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I start off taking that courses.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I eventually partner when we do event in November every year is well too.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: And last year had about four hundred, four hundred to five hundred people come out to the event.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: And as a tax professional, the two requirements are getting to Ethan and getting to Pete's in a prepare identification number.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of the tax professionals also can get continuing education.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: And so you're able to get something called CE credits.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: So instead of me creating my own course, we would take a long time as partner with Latino tax professionals.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I white labed a course for them and we worked a lot together.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: They work a lot together for each of the education side of them.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: Hold on.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: You white labed a course teaching people.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: How much did they charge?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: How much did they charge you?
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: They told me about five thousand dollars.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: And you just get the course.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: I get the course and then I can resell it too.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you can resell how much you resell it for.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: is just depending on each course you can, and the course may be, I give, this is example, all right.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: So say for instance, if it's the course, I give a small example.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: The course may be twenty books, you can upsell it to fifty dollars, and they make twenty, you make thirty.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Also you buy you pay into the partnership, but every when you sell they get a percentage.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, not mad because you know, I do nothing.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder in the space you can offer that as a product.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: So is that what you're teaching me how to do to create that software?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's a portion of it under umbrella.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: I can't offer tax professional, same exact thing.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: They've had to invest five thousand dollars as well too.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: with the software I'm teaching you how to operate the business, how to create your own community, how to create your own educational platform.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: So what you essentially do is
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: In my edge of app to education platforms, whatever.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: The one I partnered with Latino Tax Professors, I also have an education platform which teaches you how to operate the business.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: So you can either use my course or you can invest in.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: You can take out everything that I created and put your logo on it.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll still work with you behind the scenes.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Behind the scenes.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like I have a team of five people who work with you behind the scenes.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: No one ever know you're doing business with me, and we create your entire course.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's your course to talk to me on the person.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: I never talk to your team.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: No one knows.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just, so you had to operate the business behind the scenes.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: I provide the software.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: You white label.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: My course is you.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's really good model, bro.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really, really good model.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because you created the blueprint, I think that's where people, they want to skip the actual work that it takes to build something.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: But now you build something, you can give it to me.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, I just have to learn the process of building it, but we have on the tools.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: How many people do you have that, that you've taught this business to?
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Last year we had three thousand partners.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: You've had three thousand people that joined it, joined your program that you were just talking about.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, three thousand.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's including a, it's tax professionals.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: When you own your own tax software company, it's something called a service burrow.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't use that terminology a lot because a lot of people like what's the service burrow?
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I just say, it's versus the tax software company.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: And you provide tax software for tax professionals.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: But in the tax industry, it's called the Serviceboro.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so including Serviceboro's and tax professionals, we have three thousand partners.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Three thousand partners last year.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: So we're our goal is to go to seven thousand this year.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: So why do you think these three thousand people trust you?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I have proven results.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I focused on instead of, now, for me,
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of me focusing on myself, I always focused on others.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, I was always worried about getting the testimonial and treating my partners really well and being fair to them and giving them all the tools and resources immediately.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, I know some people would say, Gatekeeper, for me, I didn't go there, I felt like, you know what?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: If I went out and showed you everything and immediately, first day,
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: I skipped the whole process of making you wait three years.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just shouldn't tire blueprint immediately.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you leave me?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's always thought I put up a poster that I always thought about the bigger picture.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: I thought about five years from now.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: And, um, another event I went to, you know, um,
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I've, I've never, I just recently invested in the mentor, but I went to a lot of events that you had like in five hundred and I went to event that he had.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: He probably does remember this and he said, he was going to make you different.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: He, we already event like twenty five people there.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, does anyone have any questions for me?
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, how could I be different in industry?
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: He said, just give people everything that you know immediately.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Don't hold anything bad.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's like long-term, you know, you'll be more successful.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, try to make.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: He said, try to make the people that you're teaching become better than you become more successful than you faster.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: People who are focused on the testimonial and I wasn't afraid of that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: So now the people that have
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: In, when I was in year five, I was taking two, fifty, but I got people there.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Are you two, I was making two, fifty, close to three hundred thousand.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: Now when I say that, obviously I wasn't going to my pocket because I've always invested back in my business.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: But now I have people there with me for three years, making four hundred and fifty thousand.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: That you taught how to taught this game.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because they're getting information immediately.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to some people that they can verify who are some of the people that you felt.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: I worked with.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: Candice Hill.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: I worked with Michelle Vibern.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: I worked with Billionard Barbie.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: How long you taught Michelle?
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Michelle, the tax software side of it.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: God.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: He does two things.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: Michelle teaches you how to save on taxes.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: But, me, Michelle's under our program as well, too, is a tax software.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Michelle.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Michelle, yeah.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's mine.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's both working up to day two, yeah.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's my guy.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: You got some people around here, man.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: I got a lot of people, you know, I was telling a deal and I was like, man, I got a lot of people that actually utilize the software and some people I have a program.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: I can't mention everybody's name because some people have like a
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: a program where people are with me, but I can't mention that they're with me.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: So if a person's like, you know, I want to join your program, but we'll sound like an NDA, and I can't mention it.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: I read behind the scenes with him.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're him.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so you're him.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're him.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: I work with a lot of touch professionals.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: How do people get in touch with you to like connect?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've really,
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, maybe playing with an attack smoke.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: Noah, you wouldn't.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so the business model is so simple.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: and it could be just really predicated on.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the work, right?
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: Just ask it.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think that's one of some of my also does taxes.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: And they said one of their strategies is they just print up ten thousand flyers and they hand them out.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, yeah, we pick up clients like that.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: Because this is numbers.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a numbers game.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you pass out ten thousand flyers and then return if you only get us ten thousand five percent of ten thousand five hundred of it.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's five percent of ten thousand five hundred, right?
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, five hundred.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say for instance, you taught to five hundred people and you charge at minimum four hundred dollars.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: You made two hundred thousand and four months.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: And you make your, you make the bulk of your money in the first two months.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: So what that lady said is correct.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, because what she said I was like,
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, is that strategy really something that works?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: But you're, you're testifying like that works.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it works.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it works.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: And you, but you have to pass it out.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: You have to know where your pass in the flyers are.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: She said in almost like a lower income area.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can't just pass it out like, okay, if you pass flyers out at Target, if you pass five hundred out at Target, you're going to get a different response, if you pass five hundred out at Walmart.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's a fact in a certain time.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you're, like one of the strategies that I teach is,
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, if you have a little budget, I want you to go out and get ten thousand flyers.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I want you to go to Walmart every two hours because, you know, in Walmart every hour of the parking lot changes a different.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you go to Walmart and eight o'clock at nine thirty to be totally different group of people there.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: I was like go pick two Walmart and alternate going back and forth.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: Flyer to cars at Walmart and talk to people and you'll run into five or six hundred people.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: and you'll get at least fifty names and numbers, and you can build your client's hell loose.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because the strategy of putting flyers on people's cars does that work?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: It works.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now, everyone's not going to call, but are you just looking for one or two people per day?
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because if let's just say, for instance, you know, you got hired somebody, I don't know, twenty dollars an hour to pass off flyers.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, shoot in five hours, you give them a hundred dollars, but you might get two three clients.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: You guys just pass crazy.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so if you get two or three clients and you charge three times, one hundred, that's two or a hundred.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you do that four hundred and five days.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you paid some amount of paid up, five hundred and twenty six thousand dollars.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's the strategy I utilize my first year.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, I pass out flyers and got names and numbers all day.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I need... Do you want to start a tax business?
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Or just... Let me know what you really get to spread.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: Trying to figure out something I like to do.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: I always, I've been trying to do different stuff out.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: And every now and again, she'll gravitate towards one, but I actually hit her last conversation I had about Texas with someone else attacks professional.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: I asked her and she's like, I like it, but then I think we had like, yeah, some kids and didn't.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: But now she's looking for something to do.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to make some money and it doesn't necessarily have to be her going out the Walmart.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: But as long as we know have a system, it may be have a couple dollars to pay somebody to pass on the neighborhood or whatever.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think we could get some money.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: You definitely like that's what I did.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: I did it first by myself and I started putting other people in place.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: But eventually.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was crazy that everybody that I put in place they eventually started our own tax business.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like all of my friends, like they started with my parents.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: You just, it's all you're doing.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like you just put it all flyers there.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm my second year, one of my best friends in college.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: You play a lot of really good relationship.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: His name is Brandon Walker.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: And he was my first partner.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we forgot to call it like things like a rough and we're kind of helping each other out.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Archity helped me a lot financially.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's like, man, my financial situation changed.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I say, look, man, you know, come down to Florida, that extra room.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: And this is something that gave you the motivation to start as well too.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because he stayed in my house during tax season for two years.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: And all he was doing was just passing off letters.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he saw how many clients were coming in.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I was kind of like, I'm my one of those guys who go.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you tell us to pass out of flyers and I know that is very competitive.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: I want to do something different.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: So what I did was who would pass out of flyers on like busy intersection like five way you know how to be pass out of newspapers and like yeah, those guys that you pass out in the suit fast enough on newspapers.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's all like you know what we got to do something.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: There's how could we get these flyers out faster?
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's like let's go into like traffic.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: I've got these major intersections when the cars stop, we just pass off wires.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: Like the water boils.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the water boils, but we just passing off wires.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, because I thought it was how many flyers can I get off, if I can get off a thousand flyers and get two or three people really quickly.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, instead of being out here all day, let's get these flyers out faster.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: This is number one.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: So we did that.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he started being successful from it.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, we're getting out faster.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: So he took that strategy back to Michigan.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: He just watched, I had no, there was no blue print.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: There was no educational platform.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: He watched it for two years.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the third year asked him come back, he's like, I'm gonna try it.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: I watch you do everything.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna try it.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: He went out and he made six figures his first year.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I said, okay, we got something.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: Right, this is why I like this so much because it's based off of work.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: And people wanna like create content or you know, I just wanna do like, I wanna do like cute stuff.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: But right now, I think people in need to start humbling themselves and saying, I need to do something that I can run a bag up and I'm not afraid to do the work.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Something was just afraid to do the work, and it's too cool to do the work.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want to be the ones that's out there getting to it.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: But if you are in a situation where you need some money fast,
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is perfect for that.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I come from that era of, I had to grab my t-shirt and I had to sell it to you.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: I had to be out in the street.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: There wasn't no funnels in all that.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how we ran that money up, but I wasn't afraid to do the work.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I think there is some people out here that's not afraid you do the work that will really rock with you and just say, you know, if you just tell me what to do, I'll go ahead and do it.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not being so cute with this thing and trying to come up with these extra big and ideas and it got to be super unique.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Probably go get this money for you.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's how it's simple.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like I always tell people if you're not successful, it's that's told you like I all I tell people all the time like I can give you the blueprint, but the execution has to be on your work.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's the difference if you don't.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Execute.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't go out and work hard and put the work in, you're not going to be successful.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: But some of the top people that I work with, they're actually putting in the work like, you know, I got a couple of people that started with me.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: My sister, her name is Candice Hill.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: She, no experience.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: But in the work, she worked me for like one year's life.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Take off.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: She's making well over six figures now.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: Got a young lady named Q Kim Burrell.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: She came in with no experience with the manager with T-Mobile.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: She's putting an experience.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: She's putting a word, you know.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: dropping your assigned pass and I'll flyers.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now she has a team of over three hundred people.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know, people came in with no experience four years ago.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: You only need to even muzzella Dixon.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: She can put in the work.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, she had a little bit to two thousand dollars in tax industry.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: First year, she came with me.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: She made forty six thousand dollars.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now she has a team of over two hundred people.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: Incredible.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in Chicago, met me just off of Instagram, post your names, let's say you should hurt him.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: Came in, had no experience.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: We had minimal experience.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is the bad situations of mentors came in.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: I see's making well over six figures.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: And Chicago has over a hundred and fifty partners.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: So they're putting the word consistency they're going in every single year.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think you're doing this.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: All right, look, man.
