Reds Sign Arcia for Playoff Push | Cincinnati Reds News
The Reds are making a savvy, low-risk move by signing veteran shortstop Orlando Arcia—former All-Star, solid contact hitter, and versatile infielder—to give young star Elly De La Cruz breathing room as he recovers from a quad tweak. With playoff hopes fading but still alive, this signing adds crucial depth and insurance, letting Cincinnati hedge their bets without overextending. Arcia’s proven track record (1000+ games, .240 career average, 91 homers) makes him the perfect utility bat and glove for a team grinding through the season’s final stretch.
