- 0:00Speaker 1: It's a pain, but you'll be glad when we're done.
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's one more thing.
- 0:06Speaker 2: One got clean out to sound fridge. Oh, I haven't
- 0:11Speaker 2: done that in a while. I should have warned metal
- 0:15Speaker 2: Guy to crank up his.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hi.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I opened my real fridge last night. Noticed in the
- 0:23Speaker 2: back corner. How long ago did I make that spaghetti?
- 0:28Speaker 2: How long has that been sitting in there? It's quite
- 0:30Speaker 2: some time.
- 0:33Speaker 1: His science ever studied the genetic component of being afraid
- 0:38Speaker 1: to eat leftovers. My daughter is living with us for
- 0:42Speaker 1: the summer while she does her internship or law school internship,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and uh, and I was reminded that she is extremely
- 0:49Speaker 1: cautious about its over. She is the polar opposite of uge.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a genetic thing. Apparently you're just built that
- 0:56Speaker 2: way or you're not, because I got one kid that's
- 0:59Speaker 2: super worried about that and his and his mom oys
- 1:02Speaker 2: was also just like every time you use anything, you
- 1:05Speaker 2: smell it, first check the date. I never think about
- 1:08Speaker 2: it ever. I'm on the extreme other.
- 1:10Speaker 4: End, you know.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But yeah, just always little and just the slightest chance.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Now I'm not eating that, Like, what do you mean?
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's best buy was yesterday and that's not like the deadline.
- 1:23Speaker 2: It's just claiming and it was in the fridge. It's fine.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Getting out the fridge used to be Drew's job, and
- 1:30Speaker 5: then he just started throwing away stuff.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Oh it's gonna it's going bad tomorrow. You don't understand. Well,
- 1:37Speaker 2: there's a difference between you know, used by and best Buy.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And yeah, sure, but if you like had had a
- 1:45Speaker 1: nice shrimp dish two nights ago, you left the right
- 1:49Speaker 1: back to your carridge right overnight. It's hot last night.
- 1:54Speaker 2: What's the worst saying that just happened?
- 1:57Speaker 1: Well, Jack almost died a couple of times, right, Yeah, yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I've made mistakes. That's what I like about the fronk
- 2:04Speaker 2: in the Tesla's is you can put food in there
- 2:08Speaker 2: and it keeps the smell from getting into your car
- 2:10Speaker 2: in anyway. I'm sorry, what did you call it. It's
- 2:13Speaker 2: called a frunk like a trunk, but it's in front.
- 2:16Speaker 2: They call a frunk, And because there's no motor up there,
- 2:19Speaker 2: they have a special compartment that is not connected to
- 2:22Speaker 2: the vehicle in any way, so you can put food,
- 2:23Speaker 2: like on the way home from the restaurant or whatever
- 2:25Speaker 2: that it's not going to smell up your car. But
- 2:27Speaker 2: I have forgotten about it a few times, which is gross.
- 2:30Speaker 2: But also the smell doesn't it makes your frunk funky.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You got a funky frunk, but the smell does not
- 2:35Speaker 2: get into your vehicle. We love the fronk. Worst one funk,
- 2:39Speaker 2: worst one I ever did in my regular truck f
- 2:44Speaker 2: one fifty years ago, I left a gallon of milk
- 2:48Speaker 2: from the grocery store, full gallon in the car on
- 2:52Speaker 2: a day when it hit one hundred and ten oh
- 2:55Speaker 2: clear until the next day it exploded and went everywhere,
- 3:00Speaker 2: completely soaking the carpet in the vehicle and satin ten
- 3:04Speaker 2: degree heat. That car smelled like dead bodies that truck
- 3:09Speaker 2: for so long, I mean I would for days. I
- 3:12Speaker 2: would just soak it in like various carpet cleaner four
- 3:16Speaker 2: oh nine disinfected stuff like that. And I've actually got
- 3:20Speaker 2: rid of the smell, but it took a long time. Oh,
- 3:22Speaker 2: I would just eventually get rid of the car. Well,
- 3:24Speaker 2: I I thought, I can't sell the car. I want
- 3:27Speaker 2: to lose you know, thousands of dollars because I left
- 3:29Speaker 2: milk in the car overnight on one hundred and ten
- 3:32Speaker 2: degree day. But I eventually got to.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Drive into one of those anti ice protests and say, hey, hey,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I tell you what. I'm down with Trump. I like Trump.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Anything you want to do to my vehicle. Any here's
- 3:44Speaker 1: some gasoline if you if you short?
- 3:47Speaker 3: All right?
- 3:48Speaker 2: So did you know how gallon of milk would explode
- 3:50Speaker 2: if it sat in heats for so long? I didn't
- 3:51Speaker 2: know that, but it did.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It makes sense, but yeah, that's terrible. Uh So let's
- 3:56Speaker 1: clean out the sound fridge. Michael, you got a joker too,
- 3:58Speaker 1: we didn't use on the show.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Finally, the makers of lazed Potato Chips have announced bacon
- 4:04Speaker 6: grilled cheese is the winner of their do us a
- 4:07Speaker 6: Flavor contest. Same said those psychos over at Oreo.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Bacon and grilled cheese. Oreos is at the point that
- 4:18Speaker 1: that all.
- 4:19Speaker 2: The flavors and everything, well not everything, but all that
- 4:22Speaker 2: kind of stuff is completely made up. It's all completely.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Bobby Kennedy Junior is going to force him to
- 4:31Speaker 1: label you know, your thirty seven kinds of Dorritos, although
- 4:34Speaker 1: Dorito's has cut down the number of flavors. But anyway,
- 4:37Speaker 1: chemicals that taste like yeah, bacon grilled cheese, and you
- 4:41Speaker 1: gotta have that on the label. All right, is the
- 4:45Speaker 1: next one funny at all?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Michael, I thought, I think so.
- 4:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Pigeonfest took place over the weekend in Manhattan and included
- 4:54Speaker 6: a pigeon pageant in which New Yorker is dressed as
- 4:56Speaker 6: the bird and perform musical numbers and dramatic monologues. Very
- 4:59Speaker 6: cute and everything, but I'm still pretty mad about what
- 5:02Speaker 6: they did to my car, because that's when you know
- 5:05Speaker 6: they're not real pigeons, no matter how.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Good the costume was.
- 5:12Speaker 6: That's when you know something's there was a person.
- 5:15Speaker 2: You I did little research on this one. Over the weekend,
- 5:18Speaker 2: New Yorkers with a passion for pigeons came out in droves, out,
- 5:21Speaker 2: it said, flocks, for the first edge and ever Pigeon Fest.
- 5:26Speaker 2: The goal was to crown the greatest New York pigeon
- 5:28Speaker 2: of them all in a city where there are estimated
- 5:31Speaker 2: nine million pigeons in New York, nine million pigeons winging rats.
- 5:38Speaker 2: The festival included games, merch, and even a contest called
- 5:41Speaker 2: the Pigeon Impersonation Pageant, which is what Seth was talking about.
- 5:44Speaker 2: There seven pigeon enthusiasts competed for the title top pigeon
- 5:48Speaker 2: New York City. And this woman named Marion from Britain
- 5:51Speaker 2: who is an artist. Of course, she is.
- 5:53Speaker 1: One taking our pigeon impersonating jobs foreigners.
- 5:57Speaker 2: One first place. So good for her, she said, I
- 6:01Speaker 2: had no idea who I was competing against. My visibility,
- 6:03Speaker 2: vision and my hearing were limited in the gospel.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Well that helped keep her focused.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Problem exactly.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Hey, you know what we know this in the game
- 6:12Speaker 1: of golf, sweetheart. You can't control anybody else's game. You
- 6:14Speaker 1: gotta control your own. All you can do is be
- 6:16Speaker 1: the best faux pigeon. You can be all right. Next joke, Michael.
- 6:23Speaker 7: We head to Japan, where four men have been arrested
- 6:26Speaker 7: on charges of using curry spices as a weapon in
- 6:30Speaker 7: a robbery attempt. The assailants attacked a man by smearing
- 6:34Speaker 7: powdered cooking spices of the sort used in curry on
- 6:37Speaker 7: the man's face and into his eyes in an attempt
- 6:40Speaker 7: to blind and incapacitate him. The victim is recovering after
- 6:44Speaker 7: treating his wounds with garlic non and a little mango chutne.
- 6:49Speaker 2: The authority say he is stable and delicious. I hate
- 6:54Speaker 2: the flavor of curry for some real I just don't
- 6:57Speaker 2: like it. I wish I did. Of people seem to,
- 7:00Speaker 2: but I just do not like that. Yeah, me neither.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, too much is too much, but in the right
- 7:06Speaker 1: right to ratios.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Kenny, would you like to.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Explain clip number eleven to us? It doesn't need any explanation.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I guess a little bit. Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 5: So there's a viral version of My Heart Will Go
- 7:21Speaker 5: On by Celine Dion and it's played on a recorder
- 7:24Speaker 5: in just the most horrible fashion, and it's being used.
- 7:28Speaker 5: It's being used under a lot of videos. So it
- 7:30Speaker 5: was used under Alex Padilla. Padilla, however the hell you
- 7:34Speaker 5: say it?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Ah, this is the big old California senator nobody knows
- 7:38Speaker 1: who staged a publicity stunt running at Christinome, then got
- 7:42Speaker 1: wrestled to the ground and blubbered about it.
- 7:45Speaker 3: To the media.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Ah, it's all coming together.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I was forced to the ground, first on my knees
- 7:57Speaker 4: and then flat on my chest and it's hot, handcuffed.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And marched down a Hollwin repeatedly asking why am I
- 8:13Speaker 3: being detained?
- 8:15Speaker 2: That's pretty funny. So plain about that is that it's
- 8:19Speaker 2: not longer if you're going to try to mock something
- 8:22Speaker 2: that you think is mockably serious to use that song?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Is that music bad? Yeah, that's funny. The recorder? Can
- 8:31Speaker 2: anybody play it? Well? Has anybody ever played it?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Well?
- 8:34Speaker 2: I think everybody I've ever heard it sounded more roughly
- 8:36Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, it's easy to get started on.
- 8:40Speaker 1: So you get a lot of people who are not
- 8:43Speaker 1: really musicians yet who horrible on that. Famously, that's two
- 8:48Speaker 1: recorders in the introduction to Stairway to Heaven. Yeah, I
- 8:52Speaker 1: know that live they use the mellow trony bulky instrument
- 8:57Speaker 1: of the seventies, but yeah, there's recorded by John Paul Jones, but.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Not fourth graders. Yeah, that's the key. You don't have
- 9:05Speaker 2: a fourth grader who's never played an instrument before.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Katie, that was so funny, you know, I was reminded
- 9:15Speaker 1: of during the radio show. We were talking about some
- 9:20Speaker 1: California topic and we're having a good guffaw about the
- 9:25Speaker 1: bullet train in Gavin Newsom, right, right, right, Yeah, that's
- 9:30Speaker 1: what led us into the discussion, and it struck me
- 9:33Speaker 1: that a good, solid, aggressive criticism is absolutely important in
- 9:41Speaker 1: a tool. But when you're to the point that you're
- 9:44Speaker 1: just laughing at Gavin and the idiot bullet train. That
- 9:50Speaker 1: means something, And how do you counter argue against that
- 9:55Speaker 1: if you're one of the scumbags stealing taxpayer money to
- 9:57Speaker 1: distribute it to your cronies or a falsely pump up
- 10:00Speaker 1: the economy or whatever.
- 10:02Speaker 2: You're just being laughed at.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Now, Alex Padilla, the same Padilla, the same way. Oh yeah, right.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It was one of the most traumatic experiences of your
- 10:11Speaker 1: life that you staged this look at me getting arrested thing.
- 10:16Speaker 1: And now you got handcuffed for about three and a
- 10:18Speaker 1: half seconds and you can barely contain your tears.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Please to the ground, first on my knees and then
- 10:30Speaker 4: flat on my chest. Oh no, that's the note in
- 10:37Speaker 4: its handcuffed.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And marched down a hallway, repeatedly ascated.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Why am I being de tangled? That low note? Probably
- 10:50Speaker 2: where you take the pinky off the hole or put
- 10:52Speaker 2: it on the hole? I don't remember, right right?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeahhh, that's beautiful.
- 10:57Speaker 5: That is the Internet that I signed up for our
- 11:00Speaker 5: every day.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Uh well, I guess that's it.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Oh,
