- 0:00Do you ever feel like an NPC? Well, that's because you are an NPC.
- 0:05How do you become a PC? And when I'm talking about this, I'm talking about a
- 0:09non-playable character as opposed to a playable character.
- 0:12The only playable character is God. And all the rest of us are NPCs until one
- 0:19thing happens. And we're going to get into that.
- 0:22My name is Brandon Fogel. This is Evolution.
- 0:25Let's dive into this tough topic that I'm going to try to break down for you all.
- 0:30Okay, so I don't know if you are familiar with the whole NPC versus PC argument,
- 0:35and a lot of people use it as just to sideline everyone else and say that I'm
- 0:40the only one that matters.
- 0:42And I did a lot of thinking about this, and I came to the conclusion that God
- 0:47is the only true and real playable character,
- 0:50but that this playable character actually stepped into our time in space through,
- 0:58I'm going to say the name, Jesus Christ.
- 1:02Everybody out there might just be turn it off, right? When you hear Jesus Christ,
- 1:06I'm going to swipe away because the most,
- 1:10some, I would say sometimes the most electric, for some people,
- 1:15the most vulgar word in the English English language is Jesus Christ.
- 1:19And that's why I think sometimes people use it in a bad way.
- 1:23You know, it really, it gives everyone a jolt of adrenaline when everybody hears
- 1:28that, but we're not going to get into all that.
- 1:31I would argue that the, that what demolishes the whole multiverse where if you've
- 1:37heard of the multiverse is that everything that is happening is happening at
- 1:41so many different levels.
- 1:42There, there is a different version of you in all these different worlds and realities.
- 1:48And Jesus, if he is God, that destroys the whole multiverse argument.
- 1:55Because we think, if you've seen the whole new Deadpool movie with him and Wolverine,
- 2:00there's all these Wolverines and there's all these Deadpools and all these people out there.
- 2:04There's a million, maybe not a million, a trillion different versions of you out there.
- 2:09And I would say that the reason that we come to that, this is just a 21st century.
- 2:15Understanding of reincarnation.
- 2:18We have to somehow, we get away from realizing how special we are.
- 2:24And this can go in different directions. This can go in the direction that we're
- 2:28just this blip on the planetary radar of all these planets out there that we're really nothing.
- 2:35We're not that special or it can go in the opposite direction.
- 2:38Whereas you are God, you are God.
- 2:41Did you know that? Did you know that? That you yourself are God and all this
- 2:46does, and whether you take it as we are completely nothing or that we're just all God.
- 2:50All it does is dilute the reality that we are special and God is uniquely special.
- 3:00You could say the word holy. That is what holy is. It's completely separate.
- 3:05He's different from us. He's completely apart from us. But you are truly special, but you're not God.
- 3:13And at the same time, you're not just a microorganism on this random planet in the universe.
- 3:20And there's all these other infinite random organisms on these other planetary
- 3:25universes that are out there.
- 3:26No, there is one God, but there is one you and there will only be one you.
- 3:32So I've really tried to think about this because the whole, think of it as a
- 3:38video game. There's a video game and the player is God and God turns on this video game.
- 3:45And that's when in the beginning of,
- 3:47God spoke the universe into existence, or then in the New Testament,
- 3:52it talks about Jesus is the one who was with God and through whom God created everything.
- 3:58I heard a great analogy because whenever you try to understand God and Jesus
- 4:02and the Holy Spirit and all this, we label it three persons,
- 4:07which I agree with the doctrine of the Trinity, but it is itself just a doctrine.
- 4:11It's a way to try to formulate this understanding of how do we grapple with
- 4:16what the Bible has revealed.
- 4:18So God turns on this game and creates time and space. And he's the only one playing the game.
- 4:23And there's all these people that he's kind of spoken to existence,
- 4:26but they're just non-playable characters that are really just creations of him.
- 4:32But then he steps into the game.
- 4:35He comes into the game. He makes himself a playable character in the game.
- 4:39And that's when Jesus comes into
- 4:41the world. It's when he steps into this infrastructure that he created.
- 4:47This game that is going on, that's been happening for who knows how long, thousands.
- 4:52Some people go to millions of years and all that, and billions of years,
- 4:56you know, if you want to be safe. But he steps into time and space.
- 5:00And Jesus starts turning other people on.
- 5:04He starts turning the switch on other people on.
- 5:07And he says that, I'm really going to do this after I die, after I'm resurrected,
- 5:12and I'm going to send the Holy Spirit.
- 5:15Then there's that third person of what we call the Trinity, that that Holy Spirit,
- 5:20which is God himself also,
- 5:22that comes into different people, these non-playable characters that are in
- 5:27this world, and he starts becoming a playable character in these random people
- 5:33that are out in this world.
- 5:34And that's what Christians are. Christians are the ones who have been turned on, so to speak, by God.
- 5:42We're going to take a look at a verse in the New Testament where Jesus is,
- 5:47in my kind of weird way of understanding this, is speaking about this and what
- 5:52he says. this is in the gospel of Matthew.
- 5:55And in Matthew chapter 11, we're going to look at it from chapter 11, verses 25.
- 6:01And you can see it on the screen right there. Jesus talking in front of all these crowds.
- 6:05And at this time, he stops talking to all the people that are around him.
- 6:09And he looks up to heaven and the playable character that is the son of God
- 6:13starts looking up at the player that is outside of the game.
- 6:18And Jesus says to him, says to himself, but it's not himself.
- 6:21This is where it's kind of, it gets really kooky and really tricky.
- 6:25But he says to him, it says, at that time, Jesus declared, I thank you,
- 6:31Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the
- 6:34wise and understanding and revealed them to little children.
- 6:39Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over
- 6:43to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father,
- 6:48and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
- 6:55And then he goes, there's a lot of, I mean, you could keep reading the Bible.
- 6:58And I mean, if somebody said, I'm going to read this verse to this verse and,
- 7:01and they just kept going, I would just sit back, you know,
- 7:03cause all of it's good, all of it's good stuff, you know, but right there,
- 7:07what he says that this playable character that is standing in our midst,
- 7:10this avatar that we see that is right before us, if we're, if we're back in
- 7:15the first century Palestine,
- 7:17that, that God who is, that we always just, just talked about that's out there.
- 7:21And this is primarily the Jews.
- 7:24The Jews are the one that through whom all the scriptures were given and through
- 7:29whom the Christ himself came into the world because Jesus was Jewish.
- 7:33And there's all prophecy that prophet prophetically told about him coming into the world.
- 7:38And then he actually comes into our world and steps into time and space.
- 7:40But he says, no one knows the father except the son.
- 7:44So there's this relationship that's happening with the player outside the game
- 7:49and then the avatar that's inside the game and speaking to each other.
- 7:53But then there's this Holy Spirit kind of thing. Like, where does all,
- 7:56how does all this make sense?
- 7:57I always, I heard one of the best analogies that I'd ever heard before for the Trinity.
- 8:02And every analogy you try to make sense of, of God in the Trinity,
- 8:07it always breaks down at some point.
- 8:10And that wouldn't, to me, it would be weird if it didn't break down,
- 8:14if it, because what makes sense to me are other religions.
- 8:18Islam, that naturally makes sense to me. And all these other offshoots of the
- 8:24true Christian religion make sense to me because they diminish God and just
- 8:30say there's a million other gods and Jesus isn't really God.
- 8:32He's just the first creation of God.
- 8:34And then Islam says, no, Jesus, they hold him as a prophet.
- 8:39He's a real prophet indeed, but he's not God.
- 8:43And if you say he's the son of God, you're committing a huge heresy.
- 8:46And they try to just make sense of what the Bible has given them.
- 8:51And what naturally makes sense to me is heaven is these 70 virgins out there.
- 8:56That's what a naturalistic mind would think and create.
- 9:00So in this world, we got 70 virgins waiting us. But in Christian religion,
- 9:06I hate to even use the word religion, but that's what it is.
- 9:09In Christian understanding and worldview, there's this revelation of God.
- 9:13And he's the father, he's the son, he's the Holy Spirit.
- 9:16If that was cookie cutter and just made sense perfectly, it would make sense
- 9:22that a man, a person invented it.
- 9:25But rather, it's revelation.
- 9:28The playable character is just putting himself in the game and he's revealing
- 9:33it. And the apostles that are around him, his disciples.
- 9:37Are trying to grapple with this and understand. We fiercely believe there is
- 9:42one God because God made it absolutely clear.
- 9:45You are committing a huge heresy to think if there's millions of gods or even more than one God.
- 9:51God says, I am one.
- 9:53Hero Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. That is the foundation and crux
- 9:58of the Jewish religion and Christian religion, Abrahamic religion.
- 10:02But the one that is unique and special is the Christian understanding because
- 10:07it had to be fully revealed.
- 10:09We wouldn't have just naturally wanted to create this guy as God because that
- 10:15wouldn't fit into our understanding.
- 10:19And I think we just take it for granted because we're 2,000 years removed and
- 10:24this is just all we've grown up in.
- 10:27Whereas it was completely against the grain, this revelation that was happening 2,000 years ago.
- 10:33It did not go at all with what would have been naturally expected by the Jewish people.
- 10:39That's why they struggled with it. The apostles really struggled with it.
- 10:44It was tough for them. But who are you going to trust?
- 10:47Are you going to trust people that are not around the guy who starts making these claims?
- 10:53Are you going to trust the people that were geographically different and further
- 10:57away and time and space different from him or the people that were the closest
- 11:03and heard him speak and what he was claiming.
- 11:06I would trust their opinion the most. And that's where people,
- 11:09that's why they disagree with the Bible.
- 11:13They have to put the writings further and further and further away from Jesus
- 11:18and from his time and say, these can't be the real guys that walked around with him. They can't be.
- 11:24And then they'll elevate other, which we know are completely fabricated and
- 11:30just falsely created gospels.
- 11:32They'll give them a time and space, which we know that those are hundreds of years later.
- 11:38So they bring those to the level of the understanding that those are as legitimate
- 11:44as the canonical gospels, the four that we have, and they devalue the canonical
- 11:49gospels and have to push them so far away from Jesus's time.
- 11:53Whereas in those gospels, they were people that were.
- 11:57Very sober in what they revealed and talked about and wrote about.
- 12:01They were very sober in just saying, this is the facts.
- 12:05I'm giving an account. I'm not going to try to put the people that you would
- 12:09think that I would put in the best light. I'm going to show blemishes and all.
- 12:12I'm just reporting what it is. And you can see a huge difference between the
- 12:16false gospels, the Gnostic gospels, what we call them, which you could call them that or not.
- 12:20And then the true four canonical gospels that we have, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
- 12:25But what does this mean for us? What does this mean? How do you become this playable character?
- 12:32And because, like I said, I started off with, it's because you are an NPC.
- 12:36I am an NPC, or I was an NPC.
- 12:40Until you trust in Jesus, you are an NPC, period.
- 12:45The only PC or playable character is God.
- 12:49But the beauty and wonder and miracle of the gospel is this playable character
- 12:54came into our world, and he starts flipping the switch on random people.
- 13:00But then as we progress and we get a little bit further revelation,
- 13:04it's not so random, these people, but God had this whole thing planned out in advance.
- 13:10And then it starts talking about before the foundations of the world,
- 13:14which we could say before God turned on the game, that he had this all preordained,
- 13:20preplanned, And all of this is just carrying out and walking out what was already in the mind of God.
- 13:25Like I said, if you want to be a playable character, you trust in Christ,
- 13:30you trust in Jesus, you surrender to him, and then you will actually become
- 13:34the most real version of yourself until then.
- 13:41And many people are just going to push this away and say, this is stupid talk. This is foolish.
- 13:46This doesn't make sense. It doesn't jive with what is my understanding of this
- 13:49world. and my understanding of myself because, and this was me,
- 13:53this was me before I surrendered to Christ.
- 13:57I was like, it was all a foreign language. It doesn't make sense.
- 14:02Like the movie, The Matrix is a, I know it's not like perfectly Christian,
- 14:09but it does give a good indication of the reality of Christianity.
- 14:13You got to take that red pill and that red pill is trusting in Jesus.
- 14:19And The Matrix goes off in different directions and there's all these like other
- 14:23things that are added to it. but until you trust in Jesus, that is that red
- 14:28pill that you got to take.
- 14:30But it's like, what, what causes one person to take it as opposed to another?
- 14:34And why, when people speak out, speak the gospel, why do some people come closer
- 14:40and some people just, that's stupid. And they, they make fun of it.
- 14:43They mock it. It's because it's natural.
- 14:46It's because it's natural. And the only thing that can make it be acceptable
- 14:50to anyone is it has to be supernaturally infused. God has to awaken us.
- 14:55But any Christians that's out there, you still got to tell people the truth.
- 15:01You've received this enormous gift that you could never think or imagine that you would have.
- 15:08And you're just walking around people that are NPCs and you have the opportunity
- 15:13to give them a little cheat code of how to turn on. So I'll leave it at that.
- 15:20Keep going and keep evolving to that best version of you.
