- 0:00Hello and welcome to the Everyday Eurasia podcast,
- 0:03Inspiring Faith for Every Day. Each day we are on a journey
- 0:07with Jesus in our churches, our homes, our workplaces, and in so
- 0:12many different places around the world.
- 0:15Is it beautiful that no matter where we are, we can walk with
- 0:19him every single day? Jesus is the one who connects us
- 0:23all and stands at the very center of our lives day after
- 0:27day. Through this podcast, you'll
- 0:29hear voices from across the region sharing devotionals that
- 0:33reminds us of God's presence in our everyday moments.
- 0:42This week, we're joined by Tammy Bowsa.
- 0:44Originally from Argentina, Tammy grew up in Paraguay and
- 0:48Mozambique, where her parents served.
- 0:50Through the Church of the Nazarene, she studied
- 0:52intercultural studies, earned her MBA, and later served with
- 0:56Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Jordan, working
- 0:59with local and refugee students. Since May 2025, she has served
- 1:05as the Regional NMI Coordinator for Eurasia.
- 1:08We are grateful to have Tammy with us this week as she shares
- 1:12about the five NMI priorities. Hi, my name is Tammy Bowsa and I
- 1:18am the Regional NMI Coordinator for the Eurasia Region.
- 1:23The Nazarene Church has always been a missional church, and
- 1:27it's exciting to know that there are so many Nazarene churches
- 1:31all around the world. NMI wants every local church to
- 1:35know that they're not alone, but that they're also part of a
- 1:39larger family. That is why NMI is the Global
- 1:43Missions Advocate in every local church, nurturing a spirit of
- 1:47missions and mobilizing into action, impacting people around
- 1:52the world. Following our Nazarene Mission
- 1:57International Identity Statement which reflects who we are, we
- 2:01also have 5 areas of impact which reflect what we do.
- 2:05So this week I will be walking with you and explaining each one
- 2:10of them. So let me mention them briefly.
- 2:13The first one is prayer. Number 2 is Engaging Children
- 2:17and Youth and missions #3 is Caring connection #4 is the
- 2:23World Evangelism Fund. And the last one, number 5 is
- 2:27Alabaster. So today we will be talking
- 2:30about prayer. First, let's go to the Bible.
- 2:34So in Matthew 1820, it says for where two or three gather in my
- 2:40name, there am I with them. NMI has two global events where
- 2:46we gather together to pray for things happening in our world.
- 2:51And also all the different ministries of our church.
- 2:55There is one happening in March, which is Global Week of Prayer.
- 3:00This year, Global Week of Prayer is from March 1st to seven.
- 3:04And every single day we will be praying for a different region.
- 3:08For example, one day we will be praying for the Africa region
- 3:12and then the second day we will be praying for the Eurasia
- 3:16region and then another day for the South America region because
- 3:19we believe in the power of prayer.
- 3:22Also, there are adult and children booklets that can guide
- 3:27you and help you through the global week of prayer.
- 3:30So in this booklets you will find prayer requests and praises
- 3:34from each of the regions. It also has activities for the
- 3:38kids to learn more about what God is doing all around the
- 3:42world. Please join us in praying for
- 3:45all six regions and what God is doing in each of them.
- 3:51Also in December, we have the 24 hours of prayer.
- 3:56This happens over Zoom and connects all six regions.
- 4:00We take time to share praises and also to pray for the
- 4:05different needs that are happening around the world.
- 4:09So these are two wonderful ways that you can connect with your
- 4:12global family and pray for what God is doing in the Nazarene
- 4:17Church and all the different countries through all the
- 4:21different leaders and ministries and the people that he has
- 4:26called. And we thank God for all the
- 4:30wonderful things that he will continue to do.
- 4:34Let me read a couple more passages that talk about prayer
- 4:38in Jeremiah 33. Three, it says, call to me and I
- 4:42will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things
- 4:46you do not know. Also in Colossians 4/2 it says
- 4:51devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
- 4:56In Mark 11/24 it says, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for
- 5:02in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be
- 5:06yours. So God is waiting for us to pray
- 5:10and to continuously be in communication with Him.
- 5:14Also, I was talking with a district NMI president, she's a
- 5:18district NMI president of Spain, and she was sharing with me that
- 5:23the Spain district decided to pray for seven months before
- 5:28they have their camp. Last year.
- 5:30This camp was not just for the people in Spain but also a
- 5:35gather several countries from the West Medfield and it was
- 5:39amazing to see what God did there.
- 5:42And she also mentioned that a week before the camp, they also
- 5:46prayed through Zoom every single day.
- 5:49That week 1 Church of the Nazarene in Spain was in charge
- 5:54of hosting that day and they continuously prayed for this
- 5:58event because they believe in the power of prayer.
- 6:01And it's wonderful when we can gather together and pray for
- 6:04what God is doing in our world. Also, we need to continue to
- 6:09pray for the lost, for the broken, for peace, and for all
- 6:14the different things that are happening in our world.
- 6:17We don't understand all of the things, but we know that God is
- 6:21at work even in the midst of hard times.
- 6:24So let's join our global family and be part of these prayer
- 6:29movements. And let's continue to pray in
- 6:32our local churches, with our congregations, with our youth
- 6:35group. Let's continue to pray for His
- 6:37mission, for missions all around the world.
- 6:42And to close this time together, let me pray for us.
- 6:46God, we give you thanks for loving us and for your love for
- 6:51humanity. Allow us to be instruments that
- 6:55we may continue to remember those that need you, even not
- 7:01just the ones in our own congregation, but all around the
- 7:05world. Remind us to continuously pray
- 7:08for peace, for the areas where they're experiencing war.
- 7:13Remind us to pray for safety, for the areas where there is
- 7:19instability, insecurity, and pain.
- 7:23God, remind us to pray for our leaders, our regional leaders,
- 7:28our field strategy coordinators, our superintendents, our
- 7:33pastors, our youth leaders, and everyone that is serving you.
- 7:39And we want to thank you for this global family and that we
- 7:44are not alone, that we are one of the many Nazarene churches
- 7:48all around the world. And that just like how you're at
- 7:52work in my country, in my local church, you're also working in
- 7:58other areas. And your name you pray.
- 8:00Amen. Thank you for listening to the
